I'm curious to know your thoughts on riize? I know some people think they don't feel like an sm group but tbh I think they are being similar to like 90s era kpop groups. Anyway I actually have been enjoying their music and wow watching them dance impossible choreo is so fun.

love them! i really like the musical directions they've gone in and how they do embody the feeling of early boyband much more than most other groups have managed to. unsurprising that they do some challenging choreo, bc how could you not with shotaro right there, and i'm really glad impossible got the full house treatment bc i crave the fancy footwork like choicest of drugs. i'm also a big fan of all the music that they've released so far, and i love how their new ep is so delightfully dated (complimentary). that being said, i DO agree that they don't have the full sm sound, simply because yyj isn't there to help produce them. i've said it before and i will say it again, he was so fundamentally instrumental to the 'sm sound' and even to the sound of kpop itself, that now that he's gone no group is ever going to sound like that again. it's just the truth. i think the current a&r team are doing a great job with riize (we will not speak of any other groups.) but we could have had so, so much more.

geto: definitely listens to solo artists the most, like dpr ian, dean, iu, eric nam and bibi. if it was to be groups, he’d definitely listen to le sserafim or (g)i-dle (gg) and exo (bg). he listens to them when he’s studying, walking to his class, driving leisurely in his car or when he’s cooking. he’s not a hardcore stan like gojo or yuji, but he definitely likes the genre!!

gojo: literal twice, fifty fifty, and newjeans fan. he tries to collect all of the albums and gambles for photocards. he will listen to them everywhere and anywhere, sing their songs in the shower, scream at the top of his lungs in the car, you name it. the biggest fanboy ever !! he will definitely get floor or VIP tickets for concerts with how rich he is.

choso: likes EVERY single damn group. ask him about any group and he knows, even the underrated ones that you probably never heard about. he’s a collector for sure, most definitely has a room dedicated to all of his albums, light sticks and other kpop items. he will go to every kpop concert near him, he may become broke, but not as broke as toji. he appreciates each and every artist, listening to their songs daily and keeping track of comebacks and shows.

yuji: same as his brother choso, LOVES and KNOWS every single group. but he’s a hardcore girl group stan, and he will literally talk about any group when you ask him. he knows boy groups, but he isn’t as strongly interested in them besides their songs. he learns the choreographies and makes sure he knows every word of the lyrics so he doesn’t sound too gibberish when he sings.

megumi: same as nanami, looks like he hates kpop when he listens to it. he listens to it when he’s studying or relaxing. he’s definitely a seventeen fanboy, he loves their different concepts and comebacks, like megumi sets a timer each time they have a new comeback. if it’s a girl group, he’s definitely a dreamcatcher or red velvet fan. he’d also be the type to like day6 and the rose.

Which kpop group do I think suit every mugiwara the best? And would they be a boy group or a girl group stan?

This is because yesterday I had a specific revelation and I started thinking about it in general, so here are my ideas:

Luffy as Seventeen

Luffy has been one of the ones I've had to think about the most but then it occurred to me that he would really like Seventeen. They have a very fresh and fun concept in general that really suits Luffy and they are one of the very few groups that, despite being together for almost ten years, have never lost members. And that's even stranger considering there are so many of them. They love each other as much as the mugiwara love each other and Luffy would adore them (get it?) for that.

Bg or gg stan? Both.

Zoro as The Boyz

For Zoro I have come up with several groups that could fit very well with him like Ateez or Stray Kids, but I have ended up opting for The Boyz because there is a very specific homoerotic component in their music that very few groups are able to replicate. The bisexual energy they give off reminds me too much of Zoro not to choose them.

Bg or gg stan? Both, but their concept has to be dark.

Nami as (G)I-DLE

This is the revelation I had after listening to Gidle's new song, Nami would fucking love them. Just pure female representation and empowerment. Gidle's last three comebacks (Tomboy/Nxde/Queencard) are three different representations of how a woman can express her femininity and all are valid (Nami in particular is so Queencard coded and Robin would be more Nxde coded, I think).

Bg or gg stan? I think she would like some bgs but she would be mostly a gg stan.

Usopp as EXO

NOW HEAR ME OUT because I know this one sounds weird, but I think Usopp would love Exo's storytelling. The clone lore? He would eat that shit up. Besides, I don't know why but I think Usopp wouldn't listen to just anything and Exo is one of the most talented groups there is, so...

I think Usopp would like groups that focus on storytelling or have very defined concepts, Vixx would be another option that I think fits him very well.

Sanji as Girl's Generation

This one was also very clear to me. Sanji would listen to ggs exclusively and I feel that only the most iconic gg would be the right choice for him. He would be so Yoona biased. And he is one of those who would know her choreographies to perfection.

Bg or gg stan? As I said, gg stan exclusively.

Chopper as GFRIEND

My main pick for Chopper is Gfriend because the powerful innocence concept they are known for reminds me a lot of him. I think StayC or fromis_9 concepts also fit him very well.

Robin as Red Velvet

I don't know how to explain this but if you know about Red Velvet concepts you know I'm right. There's something so unique and peculiar about their music that matches every part of Robin's taste and personality. Red Velvet are the epitome of one of my favorite kpop concepts, which I call cute but murderous. Just watch their Russian Roulette mv and you will understand.

Robin would write a fucking essay on why everyone is wrong and Zimzalabim is actually the best kpop song ever.

Bg or gg stan? Both, as long as their music is the strangest succession of sounds you've ever heard in your life.

Franky as Monsta X

Just himbos, I don't have anything else to say.

Bg or gg stan? I think he would tend to listen to bgs a little bit more, but both regardless.

Brook as Dreamcatcher

Oh, I just know Brook would love Dreamcatcher. Women? Check. Rock style? Check. Horror concept? Check. They are perfect for him, it makes so much sense.

Bg or gg stan? Not as exclusively as Sanji because music is music, but gg stan.

Jinbe as MAMAMOO

Jinbe would love every Mamamoo member's unhinged personality as much as he loves Luffy's. He would have so much fun with them and their concepts and their music, it's a strong feeling I have.

Cards and Plastic Sleeves

Yesterday, the plastic sleeves I ordered finally arrived~

I didn't sleeve every cards that I have, mostly the guys I still use for battles, in training, or the first card of that character I've ever printed (ex: Lv. 1 or Lv. 2 cards)

Even if it's not every cards that I own, it almost took me 2 hours to sleeve everyone Given tho, I kind of get distracted at the middle-

I also want to write out a bit about why I suddenly feel the need to sleeves every cards that I currently and will have for the future

TLDR; Don't use photo album that use PVC for card collecting if you don't have innersleeve for your cards

Around August 2023, I ordered an photocard album that are usually popular among KPOP fans, because the size is perfect for photocard

And well, what do you know? The size is also perfect for Oreca Battle cards-

The inside of the album is very nice! If I wasn't wrong, the sleeves size is around 7 cm x 10 cm, so plenty of room for the cards

And not only that, they are also come with 2 sided sleeves! So I can arrange some of the cards to be placed next to each other, like this arrangement for Powan and Dante~

And furthermore, this album got that big window on its cover, and you can put your fav picture as the cover!

I did use one of my spare Culann card as the cover at first, but overtime, it changes into one of my ridiculous doodles that I printed sometime ago along with my wanderer cards-

Currently, I'm using the one where Culann is chasing Tanta, but that's not what I'm going to ramble about

I'm going to ramble about what happened to my cards after months of being inside this album

As the TLDR at the beginning implied, the sleeves materials are made of PVC plastic (as described by the vendor on the online listing)

And these PVC plastic, yea? They stick to your cards/photos like, dangerously sticking

So it was probably around September, when I was planning on testing wanderer cards on the arcade I was deciding on what kind of team I need to use, so I pull my cards outside of their sleeves

And lo and behold, crime of modern age(?)

At first, I was a bit surprised at how rough the surface of the cards have become, but I thought since none of the ink are sticking to the sleeves, we are still at safe area Oh how wrong I was...

Out of all of the cards that took some damage from this ordeal, the ones that got the most critical hit are Hayate and Bub

The damage is not very noticeable on Hayate, since it's just a small amount on his hair

But Bub on the other hand, got a very big chunk of his ink taken away by the PVC and got a pretty big white blob on the left side of his card Thankfully, Bub's OG background do have some white elements, so you can dismiss the missing ink as part of the BG

But sadly, the fact that most of my cards' surface becoming rough is not something that I can do anything about

That's why I decided to immediately buy some innersleeves to protect my current and future cards from any further damage that the PVC album might do to them

You might wonder, "If this PVC album is so bad, why not buy a new album that's not made from PVC?"

Buddy, this photo album is pretty expensive- Not only that, it's also very pretty- Also, the sleeves that got ink stuck on them cannot be cleaned/removed, so I don't think I can sell it as a second-hand item either

kpop stans are so dramatic a group releases one song they dont enjoy and suddenly the group is going down everything is falling apart they should disbanded before it gets worse everyone is losing interest in them oh my god and they you check out the song and its charting in melon 100 and the album sales has never been higher and the song is usually good its just the expectations are always way too high so you will end up disappointed no matter how it goes (yes this is mostly about itzy and rv and stayc but it also can apply on every single artist like i remember when sunmi released ycswu everyone was soo dramatic and how she’s done for and maybe her music will never be good again like…..its one fun silly song its okey if you dont like it) i don’t know this is just sth thats been on mind lately

Cyn's Top 10 Kpop Songs of 2023

Yes I know this is late but it's still January so who cares. I'm limiting this to korean title tracks and prerelease singles. Perhaps I'II make one for my favorite b-sides later. Alright lets go!

10. Lit by Stayc - I'll admit this one is kind of a sneak. I didn't even really get this song until this month. When I got it though I got it HARD. I think I listened to it on repeat for an hour straight. Do I actually think it's better than Teddy Bear and Bubble? Maybe not but I do think I like it the most. It's so brain scratchy!

9. Rising by TripleS - What a great song to be the group's official debut! I can really tell that they're Loona's little sister group in this song. Not that it sounds exactly like a Loona song but it has all these little moments where I can hear it. Probably because its a jaden jeong + monotree joint. Anyway it's a really good song and the chorus hits hard.

8. Perfume by NCT Dojaejung - My sister described this as a strut song which is so accurate. This song makes you feel like THAT BITCH. It's super smooth and sexy and really really good. Interesting vibe from NCT (That being said l'm a sticker defender so believe me I have nothing against the NCT sound)

7. Air Force One by Odd Eye Circle - The return of oec fully rocked my world. I was ranting and raving about the loonaverse implications of this song / mv / mini album for days. It's also just a really cool song! Daradaradadada~

6. Giddy by Kep1er - my babies!! Their best title track since Wadada. Also the dance is adorable. I immediately taught myself the chorus choreo. I'm incredibly biased towards these girls so I was tempted to put this higher but I held myself back.

5. Zero by New Jeans - Now I know what you're thinking, "Why tf is that your new jeans entry?" and "That's literally a coca cola ad. What's wrong with you?" This is my list though and Zero was legitimately my top kpop song on my spotify wrapped. I listened to it an ungodly number of times. It has like a weird hypnotic effect on me so I listen to it while I study.

4. Kick It 4 Now by The New Six - My top boy group jam of the year. Again shout out to my bg stan sister to putting me onto this. She truly keeps me in the loop in that regard. Pure happiness in a song it's SOOO FUN!

3. Queencard by (G)I-dle - Must every song be deep? Can't we all just have a silly girly time? My boob and booty hot!! In all seriousness though I think Jeon Soyeon is a genius. Ya'll might think her lyrics are weird but you just don't understand her like me. This is the song on this list that I think will have the most lasting impact. We'll all be looking back fondly on Queencard.

2. Underwater by Chuu - Underwater feels like a breath of fresh air to listen to. This song is so comforting; Chuu's voice is like a hug. It for real makes me emotional. It's so Taeyeon coded which is an incredibly good thing in my book.

1. Unforgiven by Lesserafim - This was my anthem of the year no question. I don't know if Lesserafim will ever be able to top this. It's just flawless. Potentially my favorite kpop album of the year all together too. Idec that half of it is songs we've already heard. I love having greatest hits in one place and Lesserafim's greatest hits are really good!

Man comes out with one of the greatest songs of the century, makes kpop a household name, releases a followup that does not do as well, then he isn’t heard from again. That isn’t from a lack of effort, since 2012 he has released three albums, and done songs with will.i.am (?),Snoop Dogg (??), and Ed Sheeran (??!!?) and tons with super big name kpop stars. In this album though he collabed with a member of BTS which means we’re now reminded he exists. 

This album was a clear attempt to come back into the public consciousness and this time it worked. The big song (“That That”) with Suga from BTS shows the fun Psy that we know with great horns and a super infectious melody. The only thing its lacking for me is a super good chorus, this one is just too stagnant and simple, lacking something that would push it into being a song I would actually seek out. 

He spends the rest of the album collabing with different big artists, many of which have recently joined the label he started as a kind of safe haven from the harshness of the big 3. The songs with Crush and Sung Si Kyung are pretty boring examples of what I call “Chinese Supermarket Music,” a crawling ballad that seems to never end and is sung by someone that is giving a little too much. “Sleepless” with Heize left a lot to be desired for me as I absolutely love her as an artist and was annoyed he used her (like almost every other guest artist in this album) as just someone to sing the chorus while he raps the verses. “GANJI” featuring Jessi thankfully breaks this pattern, with a “screw the haters” song that’s kind of funny to imagine Psy singing. Especially when you add the fact that Jessi is the most stereotypically New Yorker you can imagine, with all of her English words in the song toting a New York accent. The song is a little abrasive but if that’s your thing then it’s pretty good. 

My favorite off of the album is “Now” with Hwasa (one of my favorite kpop artists of all time) which I applauded for being so authentically 80s, with period perfect synths and a sense of drama that can only be possible in the early 80s. While it turns out it was TOO authentically 80s, as its a cover of “When the Rain Begins to Fall” by Jermaine Jackson, and the only thing they changed was the language of the lyrics. I mean I’m glad they introduced me to the better original version, but that’s the thing, the original is better! C’mon Psy!

Now there are Psy solo works on this album obviously, but honestly none of them are that good. All of them seem to call back to a 2010s era of pop that we’ve all moved on from, with “Hello Monday” just sounding like a 2015 hit that everyone moved on from a week later, and “Everday” being a song that would be playing over a lasertag game from my 12th birthday. The only song that is memorable is “Celeb” but its too simple and is just lacking the substance to be a single.

Listen, I write this all as a Psy lover. Someone who measures their time as BGS and AGS (Before and After Gangnam Style) and listened to this album the day it dropped. This album is just lacking the magic that his previous hits had, and he’s left hanging on to the magic of his guests.

Me, suddenly a behavioral and language analyst, watching videos in a Language i don’t understand to figure out what’s going on about my man. Real Kpop stan type behaviour:

This was after the alleged elevator slap when J cheated on B. To me it represents: Realising that you’re very much over anyone’s less-than-Gods-standard type behaviour. I am SoLange & Bey.

For example, God told me to go the hood and then told me I was there to meet with my producer-to-be and I should call him over. He brought me a random gift speaking about how he likes to just bless people yada yada asking if I’m allergic to nuts and I thought it was luxury chocolate (yall know I don’t play about thatttt) then he later admitted in passing that it was regifted bc he didn’t want it (Ummm?). The gift? BBQ salted nuts.

Then he played me a normal beat he made which sounded like any well made popular beat on the net, saying it was an adjusted version of one he kinda liked on YouTube - then said why should he pay for beats when he can make better ones?? But you just said your ‘better’ beat was just an adjustment on 90% someone else’s beat that you’re now dissing??… and sounded basic nothing new at all same old Catholic choir voices in the bg and an 808 or whatever - and then started raving abt this vision he had.

He told me since he met me everything has been falling into place for him (I’m not going to lie every man I meet platonically tells me this - I praise God that He works thru me that way) and then I get this feeling… like a drop in my spirit.

Money:

He suddenly switches mid music convo saying to work together I have to agree on some things first - then tried to get me to agree that God saying choose life not death actually meant choose to be rich not poor, and that being rich was the goal of the gospel. Jesus Himself wasn’t rich. But He didn’t care.

I remember the feeling - the moment I realised God brought me there to break up with him (as a producer). It was like the world warped and he looked so unattractive to me suddenly - moments before he would open his mouth to say the things that would actually show me I need to walk away.

Production services for accepting a false gospel? “We all have our own belief systems” he said. I said “it’s not my belief system it’s the direct Word of God that says we should learn to abound whether rich OR poor through Christ. That love of money is the root of all evil… so being rich can’t be the goal of the gospel.” He agreed that if the prosperity gospel was real that this would be the exact convo he would try and have with me. Why didn’t that open his eyes?

It was a very manipulative end. He implemented many gaslighting and trapping techniques such as asking me to let him land or to hold on when he never lands as a way to get me not to answer anything he said. Ineffective on me ofc. Or like when I was leaving and he said ‘wait just one question then you can go.’ Then the question was just restating his argument so by answering it I’m just being dragged back.

The moment I realised he understood the truth I showed him and rejected it, I was gone.

Getting up and walking away from that conversation was easy because I’ve come to a place where anything against God is easy to leave behind. But it was sad to leave a soul there too.

Just another music attempt horror story. 7 years consecutive inability to make any music has been hard. I wasn’t even going to try again ever after year 5. But then God really helped me out in a situation and I said what can I ever do to repay you and I promise He literally said ‘start your music career’ ?? I was like but we weren’t going to do that fr anymore.

Look y’all I’m not saying I’m the worlds missing Link musically or the next Whitney - just that my music would help a few ppl who are missing Godly influence in a certain genre. What I haven’t created yet will greatly help a small number of ppl. And those ppl still need that help according to God.

I realised all he was was a notebook. He never had any ideas he just asked me all my thoughts and gave them back to me. I do the same when my friends need to make a hard decision by themselves and just need someone to help them see what they’re thinking. He added not much.

I spend a lot of time reassuring myself I’m human and I’m enough as I am to go forth w Gods plans. I feel ugly these days even when I think I look beautiful. I guess I just feel lousy - it’s been a lot to handle recently 3-4 ppl tried to slime me out (trick me) of money etc in the last 2 weeks. It’s been hard. Everybody thinks I’m rich though clearly ahhahaha.

I know I say that I pray for the return of the 2013 swag era but what I actually pray for is the relaxed attitude from it. The time I should have spent being a teen then, I spent being a toddler. I’m only a teen nowish. That’s okay - we’re getting it back

I was just looking for a good funnyish action movie. Then this scene where Alicia and Common fall in love in seconds and you can just feel that it’s real - it was the realest most honest love I’d seen on screen for a long time (minus the m*rder talk) for a long time. And the best thing about it I didn’t even go looking for romance I wanted an action comedy and was gifted it. (Smokin’ Aces.)

All this time I thought I wasn’t attracted to anyone bc their face wasn’t enough for me and then I fell for sb the hardest from just seeing their back- no face needed. Isn’t that the weirdest? (This clip contains swearing Use of the n word, and most main curse words I did not find a clean version of the clip)

And that’s me too. That’s really how I am. I don’t care if we just met, I’ll die about me for the Gospel’s sake - and I’ll die about you, instantly. Because of who he is, in Christ, who he’s chosen to be and how incomparably valuable he is to this world.

hello hello! i love answering these type of questions omg! this will probably be long (i'll probably reach word limit and have to continue on the rb rip) so i'll put it under the cut

to answer some of the easier questions that i'll probably give a somewhat short answer to: i do own kpop merch however from the groups you mentioned, i don't have any TT simply because it's expensive and since i don't have a job i don't go out of my way to buy albums that often! most of the albums i got are bgs and most of them were gifts from my family and friends! the only gg album i have is blackpink's the album! it was a bday gift and i really wanted to get their first album since we all know how long it took them to get a full album out (i hate you yge) and since they were the first gg i got into! which i think it is a good transition to the question "what got you into kpop?" years ago in 2014/2015 this friend of mine introduced me to bts but i wasn't really that interested only for like in 2016 for me to hear blackpink's as if is your last and be obsessed with it and i only realized months ago that i probably got into kpop bc of them rather than bts bc even tho i ended up stanning bts in 2017 and they probably got me deeper into the kpop scene, i was way more obsessed with bp before that and so i think it's safe to say that bp got me interested in kpop at first to a certain degree but i feel like both of these groups played a lot into me getting into kpop regardless!

about the groups you mentioned

itzy there are a lot of things that i love about itzy since they are my ult of ults when it comes to ggs but i just love itzy's messages in songs and some people say they are corny or wtv but i feel like songs with themes about loving yourself and hyping yourself up are so important and it helped me a lot! their songs make me so happy because of how fun they are to listen to! but especially with this last comeback i loved bet on me because it talks about how even tho you have insecurities and you don't know where you going you end up choosing yourself in the end because trusting yourself in what you do goes a long way and it acknowledges how hard that even is to do in the first place and i remember when that song came out i had those types of thoughts and it was rather bad period for me mentally and so it meant a lot to me! i love their performances and how they always do the most on stage! it's definitely one of those groups for me that never miss when it comes to performing! you can tell they work a lot on that regard especially when it's award show performances they always try to do something new every time and i always love that! they also very lovely to me as individuals and their teamwork and friendships always makes me so happy :<

ive i initially got into ive because i was curious about yujin and wonyoung debuting again even tho i was never an izone stan i always tuned in for their comebacks and so i was pleasantly surprised at how good their debut song was! and i think ever since eleven, they have always been consistent when it comes to good music and i love that! they do bring something different to the table when it comes to music whether you love it or hate it and i feel like that is one of the most intriguing things about ive as a group in my opinion! it's incredible how they got such a big audience every time they have a comeback it's quite impressive and also winning soty last year it was so cool to see such a young group get an award like that basically at the start of their career! i know in the future they will be even bigger than they are i have faith in that! i just can always count on them for good music and vibes and fun visuals

stayc they are such a special group to me! like ive, they always have good music and i always can count on that from them! they are such a fun group especially when it comes to performance and singing it's always a delight to watch them perform these songs! this is also one group i did get into when they debuted and it has been really good to see them grow! it's also one of those groups that have songs that talk about important things that speak to me personally and i do love that! and so to me is one of those ggs that i find perfect when it comes to basically everything lmao it's always nice to see a gg from a small company thrive have good music and talent and that being acknowledged by the public! i know in a few years they will be unstoppable and will be everywhere!!

le sserafim i can't begin to describe what is about lessera that makes me like them so much! much like itzy, it's a lot of things! i have also been with them since debut having to see them go through scrutiny because of what happened with g*ram was sad even tho none of it was their fault they kinda got caught in the crossfire of it all and it was sad to see it happen so early on their debut that many people were debating whether or not they would be successful as a group after that and i am so glad that they became successful... like beyond expectations! they have such interesting dynamic as a group and i think it's very much because they went through a lot to just debut (referring to their documentary series) and they created such a strong bond that definitely translates into their performance! teamwork is very needed to be in a group and i feel like it does become very apparent when the members have a lot of affection for each other and ofc this is what we see but i honestly love that so much! it helps that their music is very good to me and i feel like there hasn't been a release that i was disappointed with! i loved their debut mini album so much that it's still my fav lessera mini to this day (unless... this next album changes my mind) but it was truly perfect in terms of production to me! i feel like as a group they can be very versatile and we will definitely see them doing different things and most likely nailing it every time! i just love them so much they are my fav gg atm i have so much love for them it's hard to describe into words 😭 i know they will go far in the future both individually and as a group and i'll always support them probably

as for thought on kiss of life... i have to say i was pleasantly surprised when i heard their solo songs also debut song?? it's incredible how good they are and debuted like this! i feel we could immediately get a sense of what they will be as a group and how the members are individually! i think they are all very talented and have amazing vocals i remember watching their performance on it's live and being so blown away by their vocals! i got into them initially because natty was gonna be in the group and i've been accompanying her career for a while now so i was surprised to see her debut in a group but i feel like she fits right in very well! sugarcoat is easily one of my fav songs released this year i feel like it was the perfect song for in so many ways! they will most definitely be a group to look out when it comes to performances and i hope everyone is ready to give them their flowers because they are so good and i can't help but support them i'm looking forward to their comeback idk what sound they will go for but i am sure it will be great

as for concepts for each group.... honestly it's hard to answer my go to answer for when people ask me concepts is "i wanna see them do a rock concept" and honestly i do want itzy especially to have a rock tt at least once (jype if you are listening PLEASE) i would like lessera do a sort of a bubblegum pop concept but idek if i am describing this well kdjfgk like cute bubblegum but not too cute even tho i wouldn't mind but more of a tt with that sort of sound... similar to likey by twice if that makes sense! for ive... it's very hard to say because... because they sort of have done pretty much a lot of concepts... i especially loved how there was three different concepts for this comeback but maybe i would love them to lean into like magical concept like.... fairy-like in terms of visuals and the song could literally be anything tbh kdfgjkd as for stayc... i think something like so bad but i little edgier would be nice (trying not to say rock concept again LMFAO) but something similar if that makes sense)

Idk why something always seems a bit off about txt performances for me. Maybe bc they don't always seem to fit their concept? Or some of them fit it more than others? Sometimes they don't seem like a cohesive group or like there's something missing. They're so popular and keep getting more successful, so I always try to check out their new music, but I can't seem to get the hype. Most other successful bgs I understand why people see the full package in them, even if I don't stan, but it doesn't click with me with txt and I don't find their performances very memorable. I hope this doesn't come across as me hating on them bc I really want to like them since they seem nice

I think every single time TXT drop a new song or I watch their performances I comment on this. TXT don't really have star appeal to me. There's nothing exceptionally charming or attractive about them. They don't particularly stand out in variety shows, interviews, or their own content; none of the members, even Yeonjun, stands out to me individually outside the stage; their styling is super boring and always the same, not to mention uncool; their choreos are too repetitive and fast paced - I never have the time to appreciate anything since the boys are always transitioning from one move to the next at a steady pace, so nothing sticks out to me, with the choreos lacking dynamic, uniqueness, and being unmemorable, no single member ever having a point move or something that makes me remember them; their performances lack spontaneity and charisma too - they're just well rehearsed but not alive, exciting, hype, different. To me, TXT are a very typical boy group. They aren't any different from most groups who don't have much of a say in their artistic vision, and TXT do have songwriting credits on most albums, but even other groups have a bigger identity and ownership of their group. IVE aren't particularly involved in their artistic output, but already have a stronger brand and a more distinct and recognizable image than TXT. You know who IVE are and the members generally embody the concept of the group well without it seeming fake or too much like a concept. TXT, on the other hand, mostly feel like a group put together by Big Hit with the members just following orders and trying out the concepts they're assigned. It feels more like a business venture and less like a group. TXT have their own image and sound, and the members' bonds bring the group together, but, at the same time, it's like the group doesn't really belong to them and the members could be replaced to create a new TXT, like the concept of TXT is stronger than the group itself. I like the boys, but I can't imagine them ever blowing up. They're not memorable or engaging enough to me. SKZ's success makes so much more sense imo.

I'm not hating on them either, because I like them, but they're missing something for me too.
