#and it’s still Usagi and Minako not realizing that’s the joke

god I love that girlies being infatuated with Haruka is only framed as them being silly. Like even when Haruka and Michiru are clearly and obviously messing with the girls to string them along longer without explaining that Haruka isn’t a boy, it’s Usagi and Minako that are the butt of the joke because they don’t realize what’s going on.
And even when they learn that Haruka isnt a boy, it’s not a joke because haha they were attracted to a girl this whole, but a joke because they assumed the girl they were attracted to was a boy because they were attracted to her

Haruka : Come on, guys. It's Jan 27 and it's my birthday for a superhero to celebrate. But we don't have a birthday cake to celebrate.
Michiru : Look, Haruka. As a superhero and as a cousin that you totally sleep with, I'm sure that the cake will arrive soon. You got friends that are called the Sailor Scouts and we fight the evil, saving lives and stuff for the galaxy or the universe. After all, we Superheroes of Japan are named after the Gods where the planets were namesaken, and of course, Pluto, who was in this.
Setsuna : Hey, don't get me on the wrong idea, fellas. Back in the 06, those science assholes had me thrown out of the planet list and I had to comeback from the Underworld to get my payback! I'm still a superhero and that's exactly what I needed from the Romans to hear about it! Oh by the way, the name for Pluto is also the name of Mickey's dog and same goes to the Robot. At least we wanted to be all cool as planets. After all, I'm sure Haumea's a planet as well.
Haumea : Uh, no way! I'm named after a Hawaiian goddess of fertility! Meaning that I like to give birth to children!
Michiru : Gross. Michiru, (scoffs) Of course we're cousins in this Sailor Moon LARP, but we're still girls and that's what exactly we do for each other, caring each others and fighting off the evil is such a pain for us to have these horde of nerdy fans of us are trying to think that we don't work as an incest couple to think that were gay. You just gotta get a little more attention just to see with in the blink of an eye. That's how I felt when we Super heroes got our names from the gods of roman itself! Astrology and mythology can't mix when there are no superheroes in this country.
*DING-DONG!*
Haruka : That must be the delivery guy for the cake.
*Door opens*
Haruka : Who is it?
Me : Door Dash delivery! Are you Haruka that is the sailor senshi Superhero Sailor Uranus?
Haruka : Yeah, that's me.
Me : (as a delivery person) Well I got you a special delivery for a superhero for a special birthday! (Gives a birthday present to Haruka)
Haruka : Wow! Thank you so much sir. I would appreciate this gift to Michiru! It would be a pleasure of celebrating my birthday. And here's my pay! Put it on my tab! Thank goodness it's not Grubhub.
*door closes*
Haruka : Alright, Birthday girl. Time to show me what this birthday present can be. (unwraps present to reveal a birthday cake) Huh? A birthday cake? "Happy Birthday to our favorite Superhero, Sailor Uranus". That's a little bit odd for my birthday to have me as their favorite superhero that isn't a guy. But it's good that I have myself a birthday cake. Hope everyone will like it! And then we will--- *sniffng* Wait. What's that hissing sound that the candles are sparking over the birthday cake? Wait a minute. Candles don't hiss when there's some kind of explosives that are filled within this...(realizing) Oh crap. Those aren't candles! (it is revealed that the birthday candles are explosives) This is why I hate pranks for my birthday. What's the worse thing that could happen to us, Sailor scouts, in the first place? Am I paid enough for these silly cartoon jokes that don't understand.
Michiru : Hey, cousin. Me and the other Sailor Scouts would like to gather to celebrate your birthday. And by the way, we finished the-*KABOOM!*
(we later show the Sailor Scouts are now in Other World after they dies in an explosion, with halos over their head)
Usagi : Way to go, Michiru! Scratch that! Good job, Ur-anus! You just had make the Sailor Scouts to celebrate your birthday by being gifted for the cake that contains explosive pranks.
Minako : Nice birthday party, Michiru! We all got caught in the explosion, thanks to one of their stupid pranks!
Setsuna : Guess it wasn't my fault this time! You just wanted us to celebrate your birthday! This is just too ridiculous! By the way, why are we in the Other World to celebrate in the Other World?
Haruko : Just a special occasion.
Usagi : I'm getting my nerves to have this birthday crap going over my head. At least everyone wanted celebrate my birthday on the moon.
Piccolo : I blew it up, ya nerd! It was making Gohan to turn into a giant ape and I had to destroy before it came back and turned Gohan into that ape twice per episode! Vegeta had a fake one that he made, son't don't ask why!
Usagi : Well, thank you for noticing that. If every fan on earth would like to celebrate a Sailor Scout's birthday, bring us a Birthday Cake that does not contains explosives. But yelling like this is kinda awkward! Could we talk in person later!
Piccolo : I still got time on King Kai's planet before I was brought into Namek by Gohan for the exchange being revived from the Namekian Dragon Balls. (Realizing) Oh sh*t! I forgot, granting a wish from the Namekian Dragon will make the Grand Namekian Elder go pass from a--*POP!*
Usagi : Well, that's the problem if I wanted to celebrate a person's birthday, It's on me for that matters. Speaking of matters, when will I gonna turn into a ape one day. (Tail swipe) Oh...That! (transforms into a Oozaru Ape)
Rei : I guess we can reconsider our own birthdays on earth again.
Minako : Agreed!
Ami : Indeed!
Makoto : I stand corrected!
*imaginary scenario ends*
Usagi : And that's the reason that we stars of Toei would like to celebrate our own birthdays and not just stuff that will make things go explode and go to the Next Dimension, including your friends of course!
Goku : Do you'll ever think that celebrating my birthday is great. My cake doesn't contain explosives. Same goes luffy.
Luffy : (holding the cake with explosives) Hey, guys. What parts about the stuff that-*KABOOM!*
Luffy : (covered in ashes) Sorry for destroying your place, Usagi. You sure don't want me to get you another cake for your birthday?
Usagi : (in a goofy voice) That's it. I'm gonna find me a place to stay in till my place get fixed. At least I won't celebrate another Sailor Scouts' birthday for a singular year. Have at it, chumps. At least it's our birthday to celebrate for all superheroes! *DBZ SFX : COLLAPSES*
Goku : We should cover the damages from the stuff we did.
Luffy : Goo idea. Let's just walk away slowly and...
Usagi : Oh no. You two aren't going anywhere. I got a better idea that will help me to cover my insurance!
(scene later transits to show the boys as waiters at Usagi's mansion, where Usagi and the Sailor scouts are casual nudists layin on the chairs)
Luffy : Here's your sparkling lemonade, ma'am.
Usagi : Thank you.
Goku : Oh man, I really hate this part. Can I please put my clothes back on? I gotta get back to Master Roshi's and--(Usagi and the girls pull out their wands) R-Right away! I'll get more sparkling lemonade for the scouts! *ZOOM!*
Luffy : Hey! Wait for me! *ZOOM!*
Usagi : Yep. You were right, guys. Being a Superhero is what we mean life in Japan. And we superheroes are just a bunch of rich fellas with no clothes on. Birthday Suits rule!
All : To us!
Usagi : Yep. Being a nudist instead of a Superhero is the best!
[Iris Shot]
Haruka : At least, we still have each other Sailor Rich scouts. I always get that right.
[Iris out]
~ Happy Birthday Sailor Uranus! ~

so let's recap: [men in the 90s:] mamo made an asshole for a season, demando who attempted r*pe, redeemed, child abuser prof. tomoe, redeemed, pedo grandpa seen as a good funny guy, pedo tigers eye, redeemed, along with the rest of am. trio who were manipulators to both men and women. fandom: perfectly okay with all that! [men in the manga]: mamo a sweetheart, demando yeeted, Prof. tomoe yeeted, no pedo grandpa, am. trio yeeted. fandom: mamo and haruka are r*pists for kissing Usagi. me:*facepalm
I call this my greatest hits cause I did all these during Crystal airing
Sailor Moon Fandom: All Tuxedo Mask does is throw a rose! He's useless. He needs a real attack.
Sailor Moon Crystal: *Doesn't throw a rose in the first act since it's base off the manga where he doesn't throw any because he have real attacks. He also more useful.*
Sailor Moon Fandom: OH NOO THE ROSES ARE GONE! NOOOOO! I'm not watching Sailor Moon Crystal now!
Sailor Moon Fandom: Tuxedo Mask does absolutely nothing in Crystal. He is so useless. At least in 90's anime he throws roses.
Sailor Moon Crystal: * Mamoru throws a desperate punch at Zoi in order to save Usa from dying while she wanted to be save by him. It takes nothing away from anyone since Minako still saved the day. *
Sailor Moon Fandom: OMG HE SHOULDN'T GOT INTO THE FIGHT! HE DIDN'T NEED TO SWOOP IN A SAVE THE DAY! IT'S BETRAYING THE LYRICS OF MOON PRIDE! WHY USAG AND THE GIRLS SO WEAK?? SHE DOESN'T NEED A MAN TO SAVE HER! CRYSTAL SUCKS SO BAD!!
Sailor Moon Fandom: I hope Crystal doesn't have any fat jokes like the 90's anime did.
Sailor Moon Crystal: * After eight episodes,no fat joke been spoken. Had a opportunity to do so in act 7 with Usa eating but didn't.*
Sailor Moon Fandom : * crickets*
Sailor Moon Fandom: I hope Crystal doesn't have god awful "pantie shots".
Sailor Moon Crystal : *No "pantie shots" while the girls transform. No form of fanservice what so ever.*
Sailor Moon Fandom: * crickets*
Me: Is it certain things that Crystal has done right fandom?
Sailor Moon Fandom: NO! Everything is wrong.
Me:Ok...
Sailor Moon Fandom: How can they not know who the Moon Princess is?Everyone should realized it's Usagi since she is Sailor Moon. Moon equals Moon Princess people!
Sailor Moon Crystal: *Minako reveals herself as Princess Serenity but is a decoy to the real PS since she's the only one with her memories of the past back.*
Sailor Moon Fandom: MINAKO IS SAILOR VENUS NOT THE MOON PRINCESS!! USAGI IS THE MOON PRINCESS! THEY CHANGED THE PLOT!! HOW DARE THEY!!!
Me: *Faceplams*
Part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: The senshi needs love interest so they can be happy like Usagi.
Part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: The Senshi don't need love interest because they are bound by duty!!
Part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: Senshi/Shitennou promotes heteronormatively! It should be stopped!!
Part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: Senshi/ Shitennou is anti-feminist! It goes against the basic ideas of Sailor Moon. Naoko betray her own series!
Me and others: Does it fucking matter?? It's fiction. Seesh. Stop acting like babies.
Naoko: ........ I just wanted my idea I had in my head for 20 plus years to come to life. I can't do that? I'm not going against my own freaking story you demwits!! Every version of my story is different.
Sailor Moon Fandom: NO!! You are going against your own story!!!!
Naoko, Me, and others: * Throws hands in the air*
Sailor Moon Fandom: The senshi should have killed the Shitennou. They don't cry over men!! They bathe in the blood of their enemies!!
Sailor Moon Fandom: Usagi should have revive the shitennou! What injustice! She can have her love so why her girls can't??
Sailor Moon Fandom: She still don't give a shit about them! All she cares about Mamo-Chan. She's a selfish whiny bitch! The 90's version of her cares about her friends.
Sailor Moon Fandom: After 14 episodes she still look like noodles!
Sailor Moon Crystal Writers: Fuck it! * throws papers in the air and leaves Toei*
Sailor Moon Crystal Animators: Fuck it too! * leaves Toei for Studio Mir who pays more*
Toei: Oh well! Crystal was just a ruse anyway! Here's a 3,000 wedding Tiara! Oh A heart phone too! We want your money!!
Naoko: Oh for goodness sakes people!!
Me: Jesus Wept.
Sailor Moon Fan: OMG I'm so excited for the kitchen floor scene!! I can't wait to see Usa and Mamoru recommit themselves to each other.
Sailor Moon Fandom: She's 14!! How can you support this???? She did not give her consent to Mamoru! He's such a creepy pervert!
Sailor Moon Fan: Omg I can't wait to see Dimaond kidnapped Usagi and kiss her. His obsessions with her is so romantic.
Sailor Moon Fandom: *crickets*
Me: " I throw my hands up in the air sometimes saying "Aye Yo! What the fuck yo?"
SMC: *New Sailor Moon Crystal promotion art comes out*
Me: ooo It looks really pretty .
Sailor Moon Fandom: Why her neck, leg, arm, hand, knee and everything else looks broken? Her hand should be in a 90 degree angle! It's no possible way she can pose that way! We can redraw it better than those incompetent people at Toei.
Me: Why every time- Oh Fuck it!*throws hands in the air*
Crystal! Usagi: Jealous of Chibiusa since she arrived. Ask Mamo did he love Chibiusa more than her which got resolve by them talking about it. Openly admitted that she was stupid for her to be jealous of her own daughter.Felt that her and Mamo should protect Chibiusa together.
Sailor Moon Fandom: Why she's jealous of her own daughter? She needs to grow up and stop being dumb. She's not mature enough to start an inmate relationship with Mamoru.
90's Usagi: Constantly bickers and get jealous of Chibiusa even after she finds out she's her daughter for three seasons. Ask Mamo the same thing about did he love Chibiusa more than her which he defected ,never answered meaning it never got resolve. Never admits that she was jealous of Chibiusa during the course of the three seasons she was there.
Sailor Moon Fandom: Oh Usagi!! *major hugs* Chibiusa is so mean to you!! Its ok to be jealous. Look at her blushing since she wants to start an inmate relationship with him ! Go ahead Usa!
Sailor Moon Crystal: Have two questionable ambiguous kisses that Mamoru could have kissed USagi unconscious but both of them Usagi recognizes a familiar presence. One of them Luna possibly stopped him and the other he could have stopped himself.Hits Zoi in the face in order to save Usa from chocking to death. Saves Usa from getting knock of the building from Kunzite surprised blast only for her to kiss him. Sacrificed himself to save her from Kunzite blast. Supports USagi doing her final battle with Metallia where he heals her. Hugs Usagi to cheer her up but she's pulling away from him since she's upset with Rei being gone and her jealousy of Chibiusa is brewing. Has a very intimate moment with Usagi in his apartment to reaffirm his love and commitment to her.
Sailor Moon Fandom: Mamoru is such creep! He doesn't respect her boundaries! She's only 14!She's not mature enough! This show is so anti-feminist. It betrays Moon Pride! This show is a piece of shit that betrayed the original!
Sailor Moon Crystal: Shows Diamond kidnaps Usagi, change her mysteriously from her fuku into a dress that looks like NQS,forcefully get her to sit down, tells her why he wants her so he can make her kneel before him, and forcefully kisses and touch her without her consent. Actually strips her from her agency although she gets it back when she pushes him off and tries to transform. Is mentally, emotionally and psychically shaken about the encounter and feels like she betrayed Mamoru. Tries for a second time to kiss her while she asleep but she wakes while lighting is throw at him as a defense mechanism. After he couldn't get her, he tries to kill her which her and Mamo combined powers kill him.
Sailor Moon Fandom: * Playing Cricket Symphony in D minor for the trillionth time*
Sailor Moon Crystal: Shows a corrupted Chibiusa who was probably forced into changing into Black Lady who wishes and desires to be loved is twisted by Wiseman. She kisses Mamoru who couldn't consent or resist Black Lady or help Chibiusa get to her senses. Who is strip completely of his agency and doesn't get it back. Shows how far Wiseman will go to get what he wants by taking a girl innocent dream and twisting them beyond recongination. Shows how both Chibiusa and Mamoru are victims to Wiseman's vile plan. The kiss been featured in every vision of SM including the 90's anime where they only changed it into a vision.
Sailor Moon Fandom: EWWWWWW!!! She's kissing her dad!! That's disgusting! Crystal is trying to do the most which is not working! She's such a bitch who needs to die!!!
Sailor Moon Crystal: Shows act 4 kiss but only takes out the part that Usagi is drunk. Keeps everything else the same.
Sailor Moon Fandom: They should have censored it out! Mamoru is such a creep for kissing her without her consent.
Sailor Moon Crystal: Shows the kitchen floor scene in act 19.
Sailor Moon Fandom: They should have censored that out! It shows an implied sex scene that could be impressionable to teenage girls! Usagi is not mature enough to start a sexual relationship with Mamoru.
Sailor Moon Crystal: Shows Diamond kissing Usagi without her consent in act 21.
One part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: *crickets*
One part of the Sailor Moon Fandom: Omg! I'm so happy they kept that kiss in! I've been waiting so long to see that kiss!
Sailor Moon Crystal: Show the Black Lady/Mamoru kiss in act 23 which they're probably show the second kiss in act 24.
Sailor Moon Fandom: They should have censored that out! It's disgusting! It shows incest!!
Me and others: oh Sailor Moon fandom! Your favoritism is showing! Turn it down a notch will you? *sips tea*
Sailor Moon Fan: Excited about the thing.
Sailor Moon Fandom: Relentless complains or critiques the thing to the point the thing is not exciting anymore.
Sailor Moon Fan: Feels bad or less excited about the thing.
THE SAILOR MOON FANDOM HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON THAT BULLSHIT!

"Miss Keena?"
"Hm?" Azula looked up to find her teacher, Miss Nano, standing impatiently in front of her desk.
Azula sheepishly hid her notes with an arm and watched as her teacher put down her last math exam. She nearly fell out of her seat when she saw the ugly red '30' at the top of the paper. "WHAT!?" she picked up the paper and nearly crushed it against her face from how close she looked at it.
Miss Nano went on to continue handing out the class exams back. Azula kept blinking as if the grade would go away in one of those. This had to be a mistake!
"Miss Nano, please!" she trailed after the tall blonde teacher around the classroom after school, begging for a second review of the exam. "I don't know what happened…" Well, actually she did know. She had been focusing on Sailor Hemera, Senka and the Shadow Crystal mystery…but Miss Nano didn't need to know about that. "I know I can do better!" Azula followed the teacher towards the door and quickly scurried outside first to block Miss Nano's way.
"Well you really should have," Miss Nano said like she really lamented having to grade the exam. She knew Azula to be a well studied student and couldn't understand what happened. "I expected better than this. I thought you understood the material-"
"-but I did!" Azula exclaimed, though she stuttered to give a reason on her poor work. "I-I just h-had a, um, a th-thing that I had to do that, um-" she gasped when the teacher returned to her classroom and shut the door. Azula blinked and stared down at her exam that really seemed to be burning her fingers the more she held it. "I don't get 30s!" she said just a tad loud for the passing students to hear.
"You got a 30? In Nano's class?"
This was truly the last thing she needed right now. She turned to Mamoru and violently pointed a finger at him, forgetting for a moment that he wasn't used to her usual behavior when she was upset."I don't need this right now from you!" she went up to the closed class door and continued to call for the teacher. "Miss Nano, please. The only way I'd get a 30 in my life is I was...dead!"
"Then I suppose you're the walking dead," Mamoru remarked smugly.
"Oh my God!" the red haired girl whirled around in his direction. "You're still here!?" Azula was very used to their old sibling-like relationship that the words and sarcasm just tumbled out of her mouth. It most certainly did not help that she was possibly at her worst moment right now.
"I was on my way out," Mamoru, surprisingly, remained calm and merely pointed at the doors at the end of the hallway. "But then I saw you shouting and I figured I'd like to see how this plays out. Heard Miss Nano can be difficult."
"You're not funny, and I'm not laughing," Azula stood with a straight face.
With such a straight face it would be impossible to feel anything. But then again not everyone was a reincarnated Earth prince.
"Usagi, c'mon, this is simple math!" Azula rubbed her face in frustration. The blonde in question had let her head fall to the table, over her math book to be precise. "Get up, c'mon!" Azula gently hit Usagi's foot with her own under the table.
Usagi slowly raised her head off the book. "Why do I need to know this again?" She was startled when Mamoru lowered himself beside her, having just entered the cafe. He put an affectionate hand on Usagi's back.
"So that business people like her-" he shot Azula a look, "-don't take advantage of you."
A sarcastic smile spread across Azula's face. They always joked Azula would end up taking over her family's business, except she didn't find it amusing. "You're not funny, and I'm not laughing."
Azula recognized that remembering face on Mamoru's face and was tempted to slip away before he came back to the present. Besides, Miss Nano would have to see her tomorrow anyways. But just as she turned away, he called out to her.
Crap! she thought with eyes shut before she turned back. "Yes?"
"Th-the blonde girl who was...who was with you the other day…?" Azula was sure that not even he knew what he wanted to say. It looked like he was still trying to process whatever he saw.
He probably means Usagi. She's the only blonde I know. And Azula severely doubted he meant Minako. Though that would make it easier...
"What was her name?" his question pulled her back to the present.
Azula cleared her throat and whispered the answer so low it almost seemed as if she didn't want to answer. "Usagi…"
"Have you ever tutored her at the Fruits Parlor Crown?" Mamoru seemed afraid to even ask the question.
"W-well, yeah…" Azula wasn't sure what the hell was going on but she knew he was starting to remember things. She had tutored Usagi on several occasions on her math in that cafe and many times Mamoru had come in to see how things were doing. Azula thought it was more to distract than to help. Usagi was all for distractions.
"Okay, I-I…" Mamoru rubbed his face, frustrated with himself. What the hell was he doing? Was he really asking a random girl about another random girl?
"Are you okay?" Azula felt the need to go check up on him. Whatever was happening to him she was sure wasn't meant to be happening. She walked up to him and reached to touch his arm. As soon as she did they both saw something.
"Here," Azula set a pink milkshake in front of Usagi and sat down right across from her. "It's exactly what Mamoru would order for you right?"
Usagi whimpered and buried her face in her hands. Azula sighed when she heard the small sniffles.
"If it's not right then I can ask Unazuki for something else, or…" but Azula trailed off knowing this wasn't the problem. She rubbed her forehead and stared at Usagi for a moment in silence before speaking up. "Look, Beryl might have taken Mamoru but he will come back, alright?"
"How do you know?" Usagi lowered her hands for a second, her sparkly blue eyes now red and glossy. "I couldn't save him…"
"Give yourself a break, Usagi, you just realized who you were in a previous life. You're not God. But you are a fighter and even though you spend half your days crying over something as petty as a broken cup, when the going gets tough...I have confidence you get tougher."
"You think I can be strong?" Usagi's lip quivered, doubt etched all over her face.
"Mamoru does," Azula said softly. "And though I like to purposely disagree with him just to annoy him, in this case he's actually right. You are a strong girl and I know you will get through this."
Azula gasped deeply and pulled her hand off Mamoru's arm, the latter quite stunned by what they saw.
"How did I…?" but he didn't get to finish the question because Azula began to back away, and fast.
"I-I have to g-go!"
"Wait!" Mamoru called in vain. Azula was gone in a flash and all he was left with were strange feelings and new images in his mind.
~ 0 ~
"No you don't understand - he was in my mind!" Azula flopped on a park bench. Luna and Artemis hopped the bench and each rested on one side of the girl. "I-I felt him actually in my mind! I didn't even know he could do that!"
"Well, Mamoru isn't a Sailor Scout but he was the guardian of Earth and thus given powers he might not have developed yet," Luna said, rather reasonably and calm too. It was nothing to how Azula was reacting.
"He's remembering," she said, truly destroyed just by the thought. "You two said they wouldn't remember anything."
"Minako and the girls remain the same…" Artemis said thoughtfully, "...but none of them have the psychometric abilities that Mamoru does. Rei does, in a sense, but she's another story-"
"Not helping, Artemis," Azula cut him off. "So you think because of Mamoru's powers he'll be more likely to remember?"
"He's connected to the Earth because of who he was in the past and so by extension he's connected to everyone on the planet. This memory wipe works best on humans, specifically…" Luna trailed off, leaving Azula to make her own conclusion.
"Sailor Scouts," Azula finished with a small sigh. "So, basically, because Mamoru was the prince of Earth back then he's more likely to figure things out. That's just...great," she gritted her teeth together.
Luna affectionately pawed at Azula's uniform coat. "Don't fret, Azula, please. You are taking this far too serious-"
"Luna you don't understand," Azula calmed somewhat. A despondence slowly took over her facial features. "Back when Sailor Moon and the Scouts were active my only job was to look at the perimeters, stay on the computers...I couldn't help them out there. When they went off to fight Beryl and Metaria I had to stay here and just...wait. My job was to literally wait and see if they would come back alive."
"That wasn't your fault. You would have put yourself in grave danger if you accompanied Sailor Moon and the others…"
"It doesn't make me feel any better," Azula said glumly. "I was useless to them. I thought - I thought that now since everyone lost their memories and Usagi wanted to be normal...that this could be my job now. I would make sure they were all normal and safe. It's stupid, I know, but...it was my job this time to protect them." Azula paused for a full minute, her sadness overflowing. "But now Mamoru is beginning to remember and...now there's a Sailor Hemera and a stupid shadow hellbent on getting a crystal no one knows about."
"Azula," Artemis hopped off the bench and turned to look up at the girl, "Luna and I can keep an eye on the girls and certainly on Mamoru, but you can start to live your normal life as well. You shouldn't burden yourself with problems that we can solve. You just live a normal life..."
Azula snorted at the idea. "Normal? I'm at the park talking to cats - yeah, that's normal."
"Azula-" Luna began but Azula had gotten overwhelmed and rushed away.
"I'm going to go check on Minako," Artemis said after a couple of seconds. "And maybe we should patrol the other girls tonight just to see if any of them are remembering anything too."
Luna acknowledged his idea but preferred to stay back a little while longer. It was crazy to think that even now things still hadn't gone back to normal. Usagi was living her life as she wanted but outside of her blissful bubble things were beginning to get worse again. This time there were no Sailor Scouts to defend the planet from the evil trying to find the Shadow Crystal. Sure there was a Sailor Hemera but they still didn't know who she was and what her intentions were. Luna didn't know whether to feel grateful that Mamoru was remembering little by little because then that would mean he would be able to help a little...or should she be further concerned because now a second person had managed to avoid the memory wipe - it was still a grand mystery how Azula did it first.
Luna thought about this as she hopped off the bench and started her way back to Usagi's home. Usagi had been questioning lately where her dear old cat kept wandering off to and Luna didn't want to jeopardize her close position with Usagi. It was simply a challenge having to act like a true Earth cat all the time. It was why she often found Azula to keep conversation and her personal mind stimulated besides Artemis.
As Luna went off, a tall girl with long, brown and straight hair walked up to the bench where Azula and Luna had been. Her dark brown eyes glimmered golden for a second. "So you know where the Prince is…?" a smirk tugged at her pink lips.
~0~
Azula shivered as cold wind drew into her room from the open window. She went over and closed it then turned back. There were various newspaper clippings on the grounds with her own notes attached to it. Sailor Hemera and Senka needed to be stopped at all costs. Azula felt like she didn't have the luxury to get emotional. She took a seat on the floor, in the middle of the papers, and began sifting through them to reread what she already knew.
One hour later, her step-sister Keiko opened the door. "Hey, Azula, dinner's read - woah," her green eyes landed over the mess of papers around Azula. "What are you doing?"
"Homework," Azula supplied the excuse quick as she reached for another clipping.
Keiko caught site of some of the headlines and made a small whistler. "About that weird cloud thing and the Scout? What class is this for?"
"Communication - uh, intro to communications," Azula glanced at her sister with a small smile. "Journalism might be fun."
"Though you always wanted to work in something related to space, or something...?" Keiko left the door open so Azula could follow her out. "Sorry, you talk a lot sometimes and I tune it out so-"
"-Dad?" Azula blinked at the sight of her father already sitting at the kitchen table. "What are you doing here?" he was usually tied up with the business that he was rarely home for family meals. Kaito Keena was a man of business, and since he owned the Game Center Crown which was very popular in the neighborhood...he had a lot to do.
"I live here, remember?" came the black haired man's answer. His sarcasm made her playfully roll her eyes. "I'm also the one who pays the rent, so..."
"Okay, okay, I get it," Azula took her usual seat at the other end of the table. "I just didn't hear you come in, that's all."
"You never hear anything when you get into your work," Keiko pointed out.
"Oh, a lot of homework tonight?" Kaito asked.
Before Azula could answer, Keiko cut in with what she'd seen. "She was looking into that creature and the mysterious Sailor Scout who've been making appearances around the city."
Kaito's eyebrows shot upwards, making Azula dread what he would say about it. "Really? Well, makes sense since you always talk about the galaxies and whatnot. You think they're aliens, then?"
"Um..." Azula cleared her throat and put both her hands on the table. "I mean, the Scout looks humanoid. But that shadow thing probably is."
"Oh, but you know what I learned today?" Keiko excitedly asked. "It's actually funny what they name themselves. Hemera is a Goddess of day and light while Senka means 'shadow'. Can you believe that?"
"No, I...I hadn't considered the etymology of the names," Azula blinked rapidly.
"I just wonder where these aliens come from," Keiko went on, "And I'd definitely would love to know what a Shadow Crystal was."
"Yeah, that would be nice," Kaito agreed. "It would certainly help get the two out of the city before anyone gets killed."
"I should have asked that cute little fortune teller at the shrine…" Keiko said wistfully.
Azula raised an eyebrow. "What fortune teller?"
"Oh from the local shrine," Keiko leaned away from the door. "What was her name? Hino Rei? I went in to ask whether or not I'd get the school secretary job I applied to a couple days ago."
Azula blinked. Rei. How could she forget about Rei and her mind abilities? Mamoru wasn't the only one with mind tricks - Rei could sense danger! Sure Rei's mind was cleared of anything Scout-wise but her ability had come way before she awoke as Sailor Mars.
It was a stretch, but Azula would take it.

Medium & Marketing for 90′s Anime Dubs
Today is Hayao Miyazaki’s 80th birthday, which made sure my dash was filled with Ghibli tidbits. A discussion of my personal favourite, Kiki’s Delivery Service, brought up its ill-fated original dub by Disney in 1998. Ghibli still didn’t have the courage yet to put their foot down on changes for international releases, and so there are a lot of alterations - the theme songs are changed to be anglicized, almost any “dead space” or quiet moments in the film have someone (normally animal sidekick Jiji the cat) improv lines over the scenes to liven them up, and in particular the ending is changed to be less bittersweet as Jiji, who in the original Kiki permanently loses the ability to talk to as a sign of growing up, regains his voice.
These changes slot neatly into the zeitgeist of all 90′s anime changes - a disregard for the property’s core appeal as they were bowdlerized for a western audience. Sailor Moon is an infamous victim of a similar process - at least Kiki took place in fantasy Europe, the Sailor Moon dub’s attempts to pretend that the show doesn’t take place in Japan were simply insane as they cut out or blurred every appearance of Japanese writing in the show, leaving reams of animation frames on the floor in the process.
(Tangent time: the greatest scene ever is one where, upon reading a note by Usagi, to prove it was her Minako/Sailor Venus comments “it must be from her, its written entirely in hiragana”, the simpler form of written Japanese compared to kanji, which Usagi as a running gag cannot write. So in the dub they just...blur out the text of the note, and have Minako comment “I had to read it with my imagination. It's all written in funny symbols!". I distinctly remember watching the episode live when I was 12 years old and going “wait what the fuck does that even mean?” and suddenly realizing that the show was changing its own script, it was a trip of a moment)
Like most people I do malign these changes, but I am actually here to partially defend them via contextualization. The idea that American audiences would have cared that the show was Japanese is pretty dumb, but what you often hear are statements like “kids in Japan appreciated Sailor Moon/Kiki’s Delivery Service just fine, they didn’t need to change it”. That is possible, but it mistakes why changes are being made to begin with - its not the “culture of children in the US vs Japan”, its intended market via the medium of distribution.
Kiki’s Delivery Service was released in Japanese theatres in 1989, and it was the highest grossing film of the year in Japan (about ~US$18 million, man do things change). Kiki’s Delivery Service the Disney dub, was....released on VHS in 1998. VHS releases and movie theatre releases aren’t really intended accomplish the same thing. Remember all those direct-to-video Disney sequels? Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride? Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time? Remember how they were all just garbage? Anyone looking back at them today cringes, with a few exceptions. But none of us cringed when we were 8! My partner is a huge Disney fangirl, and when she was young she didn’t even distinguish between the theatre release and the VHS sequels - it was all Disney, you just lined them up and played them in a row as the complete canon. Yes, these movies sucked partially because they were low budget, but they weren’t actually *that* low budget - and not the throwaways your memory probably tells you they were. Lion King 2? Made ~$300 million in net sales, almost as much as the original Lion King’s theatrical run.
What those Disney VHS sequels and Kiki share is the fact that their intended market was *only* children. That is the point of VHS - you put it on for your kids and then go make dinner. Its the virtual babysitter, the kids can loop it while reenacting every scene with their stuffed animals. Movies released in theatres don’t serve that role at all - the parents are paying $15 a head and they are trapped in their seats for the whole runtime. It has to entertain everyone, or you aren’t going to go, or at least not as often. VHS releases sucked because kids don’t care, they actually do enjoy the constant quippy lines and dumb jokes. That is equally true for Japanese kids - its just that Kiki’s intended audience wasn’t Japanese kids, it was “all ages” - a very different category.
The same is true for Sailor Moon, by the way. The idea that kids in Japan could “handle more mature themes like death” unlike American audiences doesn’t hold up quite as much when you look at Disney theatrical releases like the Lion King - Mufasa’s death pulls no punches, but kids didn’t mind. And Japan does have shows like Doraemon that are just as childish as the 90′s western cartoons you remember. Its that Sailor Moon’s audience wasn’t just kids.
Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon aired in March of 1992 on TV Asahi. Asahi was not a kids network, and Sailor Moon did not air in a kid’s block - instead in its “Anime Block”. It aired on Saturdays, at 7:00 PM. For most of its runtime, the 7:30 slot after was held by Slam Dunk, a hyper-serious basketball anime adapted from a manga in Weekly Shonen Jump. You think director Kunihiko Ikuhara was throwing in queer relationships and even trans characters, and every other villian was a half-naked seductress, because it was gonna really resonate with 8 year olds? Sailor Moon was for 8 year olds, yes...and for otaku. So, 15 year olds, lets not exaggerate here. But still, its hype, its success, came just as much from its teen and adult fans as much as its young devotees. Which was intentional - it was *marketed* that way. That's why it aired at 7:00 PM on a Saturday.
Sailor Moon’s original dub, on the other hand, aired on UPN at, yeesh, 6:30 AM?? Then on USA’s Cartoon Express at the much more reasonable 8:30 AM, and later on Toonami at 4:00 PM. All of these are kids slots, to watch over cereal or snacks before/after school while the parents are busy. You do not expect the adult in the room to be watching alongside the kid, or for teens to really be paying attention.
And to cut off the logical objection, a show like Sailor Moon was just not going to get a 7:00 PM Saturday slot in the US in the 90′s. Nor was Kiki going to get a movie theatre release in 1998 of any scale. Movie releases are expensive, Saturday slots are precious, the funding just wasn’t there for something so untested as Japanese anime. There was no demand in the west for it - that demand would only be created later, by a generation who grew up on, well, shitty Sailor Moon dubs and Kiki VHS releases. And what success in the media slots these shows and movies did have are shaped by those market niches.
I don’t want to be over-deterministic on this - at some point Cartoon Network rolled the dice on Cowboy Bebop and Full Metal Alchemist and it worked - maybe they could have done that in 1995 with like Neon Genesis Evangelion, who knows! And of course US children’s cartoons are, beyond market forces, burdened with regulatory moralizing that Japanese media does not have. But I do think these 90′s dub efforts should get the proper context for the constraints they were operating under, and why they existed at all, as they are criticized.

I was going to make a joke about Usagi living her best Bugs Bunny life right now, and how her diary entry for today is going to be MASSIVE, but then it hit me -- and I feel incredibly slow for having taken this long to realize -- how this episode is flipping the “body double” thing between Usagi and Minako. Usagi is obviously in no real danger; the odds on one of Minako’s crazed fans throwing a delivery van at her are relatively small by comparison. Still though, we have Usagi making people think she’s Minako and keeping them busy so Minako can go about her life, and that parallel set-up is GLORIOUS.

The Six Million Dollar Anime Girl
Tumblr media
As a fan of anime we must look at both sides of the coin, in most anime the people depicted as main characters are above average in the gold and silver department. Lets start naming a few magical girl franchises and we will see a clear trend!
North American audiences probably never gave much contemplation on the economic class that Sailor Moon belongs too. To the average North American viewer, Usagi and company were typical middle class, living in typical homes in a seemingly average neighborhood. However, if you know anything about Tokyo, you’d realize Usagi and the other Sailor Scouts are pretty well off. Every one of the five main characters live in the Juuban district in Tokyo, which is a very affluent area.
On top of that Haruka Tenou said her monthly rent was a million yen which works out to 10 thousand dollars. Michiru Kaiou had her own apartment which presumably had similar if not higher rent, on top of that she owned a giant palace outside of town, and rode in a helicopter to and from school. Yeah that's what you call normal middle class living, yeah right, give me a break! And don't even get me started on Dr Tomoe, and the multi billion dollar Mugen Academy Corporation that he founded.
Tumblr media
North American viewers who watch Cardcaptor Sakura think Sakura is a typical middle class girl with a somewhat wealthy friend Tomoyo Daidouji. Well if you pay attention to the details you will realize she lives in an extremely affluent fictional district called Tomoeda. just one look at the schools architecture, as well as the area in general reveals that Sakura Kinomoto is borderline wealthy by any standard. However it gets even better it turns out she inherits her grandfathers fortune witch includes a giant five story mansion with servants to boot. So much for middle class living, we are talking 100 wealthiest people on earth material, and that's just from the story who knows what corporation Sakura's grandfather owns to amass such wealth?
Tumblr media
Many Americans when they see Saint Seiya think that Saiori Kido lives in an upper middle class home, with a butler working out of devotion for her. Actually Saiori Kido is extremely wealthy, in fact if she were in this world she would be the wealthiest woman by far, and that's even before she awakened as the Goddess Athena.
Now with this scale set lets scroll down the list of magical girls.
The plus signs in the following are not coincidence they are the sub orders of magnitude within each corresponding class.
Billionaire
Billionaire+ greater x10
Billionaire++ much greater x100
Billionaire+++ massively greater x1000
Example billionaire +++ is a potential trillionaire.
Note the cheeky term Zillionaire refers to fictional characters with untold wealth.
.................................................
Usagi Tsukino... Upper Middle Class+
Usagi Tsukino's ascension to Neo-Queen Serenity Zillionaire+++
.................................................
Saiori Kido... Billionaire+
Saiori Kido's ascension to Goddess Athena... Zillionaire++
.................................................
Tomoyo Daidouji in Cardcaptor... Billionaire+
Tomoyo Daidouji in Tsubasa... Billionaire+++
.................................................
Sakura Kinomoto... Billionaire+
Michiru Kaiou... Billionaire+
Haruka Tenou... Millionaire+++
Ami Mizuno... Upper Middle Class
Rei Hino... Upper Middle Class
Minako Aino... Upper Middle Class+
Makoto Kino... Middle Class+
Amilia Will Saillune... Billionaire++
Bulma Briefs... Billionaire
Hotaru Tomoe... Billionaire+
Snow White... Billionaire+
Ice Queen Elsa... Billionaire+
Queen Anna of Arendelle... Billionaire+
Little Mermaid Ariel... Billionaire++
Alice in Wonderland... Millionaire++
Sleeping Beauty... Billionaire+++
Akiho Shinomoto... Millionaire+
Princess Kairi... Millionaire+
Princess Zelda... Billionaire+++
Barbie... Millionaire++
Lina Inverse... Middle Class+
The less than 0.000001% of humanity gets most of the Anime glory.
I need not even go on with this list its pathetic, one thing i can plug Dragon Ball Z on is at least Son Goku wasn't rich, nor was he an elite saiyan ether, he was a commoner.
Undoubtedly the wealthiest of all these magical princesses was Usagi Tsukino, when she became Neo-Queen Serenity and inherited the literal universe of Silver Millennium. The second closest was Saiori Kido who as Athena ruled the sanctuary dimension.
Tumblr media
Yes that’s Queen Serenity’s crystal palace with spires towering several miles into the sky, it totally dwarfs all the skyscrapers around it.
Heck even Scrooge McDuck incarnate wasn't that rich. The true wealth of Tomoyo Daidouji is unknown, but the fact her future self is depicted running a future global corporation indicates she is at least Scrooge McDuck level, probably higher. Bulma Briefs would rank the same level as Princess Tomoyo, and come to think of it there was a scene where Bulma said to Vegeta, if your the Prince than that makes me the Princess.
The little mermaid is the same thing, you can't just be a mermaid, no its got to be the richest mermaid in all the seven seas.
Virtually all the magic girls are spoon fed from golden platters, with one exception to this rule.
There's only one magical girl out of all the listed characters that is based on a somewhat typical common girl, and that is Lina Inverse, the anti-heroine of the Slayers Anime.
Lina Inverse lived with her two parents and sister who ran a grocery store in a small town called Zephilia. Out of all the magic girls I have ever seen in my life, Lina Inverse is the only one who is not borne of some royal lineage.
To simplify matters Lina Inverse is the only staring character I know of that isn't dirty, filthy rich.
However even Lina Inverse was depicted with a repeating fixation on becoming a wealthy princess that repeated throughout the series. Not only that there are several times where Lina refuses to help people unless they pay her lots of gold coins, one of the jokes of the series was she rarely got her reward. But still the fact she only offered to help oppressed people if they gave her money is kinda rotten even for a comedy based anime.
On top of that one of the main villains in the story bent on ruling the world turns out to be a peasant living in a garden shed, or more precisely a run down falling apart old shed.
Yep that's the headquarters of the Zein, an organization created by Galev and his sole underling Zahhard.
Tumblr media
Well to be fair I will give the slayers a pass on this one, especially considering the entire show is comedy based, and doesn't knock people by class. Lina is Lina after all and regardless what class one may be she will deck them if they dare make fun of her.
However I will not be giving any passes to Sailor Moon, Kingdom Hearts, Cardcaptor Sakura, Saint Seiya, Tsubasa Chronicle, and the infamous Disney Princess Movies. They all blatantly program children with princess like delusions of grandeur, and in my opinion that is not cool in any way.
You will be surprised to learn all the girls I listed above are called princess, not just the Disney characters. To me that is crystal clear proof of the subliminal princess agenda! Its very in the face what is going on here, it's clear this whole princess/wealthy girl theme is a subtle program.
Tumblr media
I haft to ask the question is this the magical girl genre, or is it the wealthy girl genre? I'm asking this question because it kinda looks like the latter to me, and that is kinda sad.
Kind of like Batman became a hero because he was a billionaire and had the resources to build himself a sleeked down inspector gadget suit. What kind of lessons are they setting for kids, seriously what kind of role models are these magical girl themes creating?
Seriously why can't they feature ordinary characters, why do they all haft to be royalty, and billionaires.
They are almost all Scrooge McDuck level or higher, needless to say these are totally unrealistic goals for children.
Talk about ten minutes to ruining ones childhood dreams, you ether haft to be extremely aristocratic, or in some cases not even human to be a magical girl. I call it monarch butterfly syndrome, only those born in certain lineage make it in this world.
Make no mistake this is a subliminal class system aimed at our children, and its happening all across the board. What is the message that children receive watching these shows, is it good morality, doing the right thing, or is the message to love money?
One last thing before I sign off this blog post, what if the magical powers they are depicting are actually something else entirely? What if its trans humanism and only the super rich could afford this technology upgrade?
Tumblr media
The image above is Hotaru Tomoe after being turned into a cyborg by her father Professor Tomoe. There are claims she is the only cyborg in Sailor Moon, but how do we know for sure, they even said they originally intended for Ami Mizuno to be a cyborg. Its possible all the sailor senshi were biologically enhanced super soldiers. One of the ways to tell was when Hotaru Tomoe experienced pain from her body rejecting the enhancements. There are scenes in the new Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card Hen show depicting Sakura passing out for no apparent reason, and going through all the symptoms Hotaru Tomoe did. In Sailor Moon Crystal there is a scene where Usagi Tsukino collapses to the ground and says she feels like her body is being ripped apart. I don’t know are these subliminal hints that something sinister is going on? Throughout Kingdom Hearts Roxas is often depicted holding his head in anguish, and Sora was once in a strange pod to allegedly put his memories back together, was it that or did they augment him somehow? The very first people that will be augmented with transhuman technology will be wealthy people, most likely ones near death like Hotaru Tomoe who was injured in a serious lab accident. Then it will spread to all wealthy children being upgraded, and eventually it will trickle down to a fair sized percentage of human beings. Imagine an augmented person being capable of downloading a library worth of books into their digitized brain in the span if a few weeks.
Tumblr media
Could you imagine a class of people with limitless knowledge and nigh immortality? Anyone who isn’t augmented with this nano tech serum will be totally obsolete, there will be no place in society for them. This is the technological singularity they are trying to create for us. If this agenda transpires in the following decades the gap between rich, and poor will become totally insurmountable with aristocratic magical people with godlike powers and several thousand year lifespan ruling over the short lived plebs.
You see that in many Disney movies where the prince and princess are tall and beautiful well everyone else is short and ugly. Yeah some of it is due to animators not wasting time on side characters, however there is a clear gap between two kinds of people.
That is exactly what the fallen angel archons would like to manifest, the return of the gods to lord it over the pawns like something out of hunger games, or game of thrones. Because lets face it the ultimate plan is the total borgification of humanity. Is this the reason why the magical girls with the exception of Lina Inverse all have magical tools, pens, wands, and staffs. Is this the real reason why they are all extremely wealthy? Are they depicting our future, one in which humanity splits into two factions one being a Star Trek civilization, and the other a class of subservient plebeians?
If you think getting augmented is cool maybe the following image will change your mind.
Tumblr media
The title for this episode of Cardcaptor is the threads that bind, its an episode where Eriol Hiiragizawa literally turns Syaoran Li into a puppet, as if he were playing Geppetto the puppet master. If you understand anything about augmentation technology this is exactly what can, and most certainly will happen to those who take the upgrade. That’s how a hive mind will work, in the end there will be a collective of augmented elite living in the cities whereas everyone else is banished from society. The choice will most likely be take the upgrade, or hit the road Jack and don’t you ever come back.
You even see that depicted in the bible where it describes one group of people deemed righteous living in a city with streets of gold, and outside the city lived the dogs, sorcerers, liars and moral outcasts.
I don't know about you but that is trans humanism based on a social credit score, if you obey the mandates you live in paradise, if you disobey you are banished from society.
That is the true new world order being laid out for all to see, and don't forget any tyrant can call themselves righteous, and even the borg in Star Trek believed their collective was 100% pure perfection.
Lastly the only place where we see streets paved with gold are the connections on a computer chip, that is the yellow brick road, and the Wizard of Oz was a man operating a holographic machine, and don't forget that.
Tumblr media
Really something when you realize they depicted a hologram being used to control people back in 1939, and they even depict the fog, another thing that can be used to enhance holographic projection, the steam makes a screen with which to reflect the image upon. Many people don't know but it requires steam, or some kind of glass screen to project a 3D hologram upon.
It will take a whole post just to touch base on the subliminal trans humanist ideals portrayed in anime and comic books. However there's one thing i will say right now, they cannot transform people into superheroes, technology cannot turn people into Sailor Senshi, technology cannot make you a Card Captor, and technology can’t make you Spiderman, Batman, Superman, Captain America, Iron Man, Green Lantern, etc. Life doesn’t work like that, the only thing that combining technology with human beings will do is create the borg, and that is not cool by any standard. The only two things they are promoting right now is the rich magical girl, and transhuman agendas. They did try the rich boy thing before with Richie Rich but it didn’t seem to catch on, not like the princess programing. Back when I was still into religion i heard several preachers say to the women your princesses, your daughters of the great king. To me this is further enforcing the princess program that starts in kindergarten, and goes on into the teen years with anime, and disney movies.
Tumblr media
Oh i forgot there were two disney princesses that started out as commoners, however in the end its still part of the princess spell. Still i put this in here to correct the record.

AU of mystery and Shadow Patreon release! 1500 words.
“Rei said she wasn’t sure where you were.” Mina turned from the bar and looked down at Haruka, who angled her chin over the bar and looked at the bartender. “Hey, can I have a beer? Bud’s fine.” She looked back at Mina. “You two’ve been married how long now?”
“Well, you know Rei.” Mina swung herself over to face Haruka. “You can either scream at a problem, or ignore it.” She took a sip of her drink. “And she’s tried screaming.”
She hopped off the barstool and Haruka waved her hand. “There’s no tables, Mina, it’s fine.”
The bartender slid the beer to the edge of the bar, and Mina handed it to Haruka, looking around the room. “Don’t sweat it.”
She walked across the bar and tapped on one of the only two low tables in the bar, where two men sat talking.
“Hey, trade you for the bar.”
One of them looked up at her. “No thanks.”
“Oh, I wasn’t asking.” She took another drink. “I mean, I’m taking this table, and you’re gonna go sit at the bar. Sorry for the confusion.”
The other man scoffed. “No.”
Mina set her drink down at the table. “Listen, unless one of you wants to present a cane or some shit, there’s literally 1% of places my friend can sit here, and you’re gonna move.”
“We were here first.”
“Oh, okay,” She raised her voice, “I guess my poor, disadvantaged crippled friend will just have to drink her beer in the middle of the room,” she gestured grandly, “since this place is almost totally made of hi-tops and bartop, but,” she was practically yelling, “I mean, she’s used it, as the the world is always against her poor crippled ass, and” Haruka rolled her eyes and took a long drink of her beer, “you guys, who definitely can’t sit at the bar, were here first! So!”
The bar stared at them quietly, and they shrugged, scowling, and headed to the bar. Haruka wheeled over and sat at the table.
“So you’re in a great mood.” She set down her beer.
“Sometimes I miss bossing people around.” She sat down. “Old habits die hard.”
Haruka was never very good at suggesting things, the way Michiru was, but over the years she had developed a much keener sense of sensitivity. In some ways, the therapy that had taught her to to analyze her own feelings had taught her to analyze others, and she was reasonably certain she knew what the trouble with Mina was.
“You’re upset because it’s the day, right?”
Phrasing didn’t come up much in therapy.
“Ten years today. I still remember it like it was yesterday. I never understood, when people said that, but I do now,” she looked up at Haruka from her beer, “It’s fucking miserable to remember anything that well, people don’t tell you when they say that that it’s a curse.”
Haruka shrugged and gave a little laugh, “I don’t remember anything, so we’re even!” Mina did not return her laugh, and Haruka looked at her gently. “You know, I think everyone’s really happy now. I know I am, I think I’m happier than I’ve ever been in my life, and, I like me. And I know Mako’s loving her bakery. Usagi’s happy in her new marriage. I can tell you how much happier Michiru is! She smiles so much, and it’s real, and--”
“You think Ami’s happy?” She shook her head, “Hotaru?”
“That wasn’t your fault, Mina. You--”
“Don’t you think you’d be just a little bit happier if you could fucking go up the stairs?”
Haruka shook her head. “I wouldn’t have my girls. So. No.” She grinned and gestured broadly, “Besides, I can go up the stairs! I just have to try hard and believe in myself.” Mina did not react to her joke, and she leaned in toward her, “C’mon Mina, you can’t do this.”
“Oh no, I think you’ll find I can.” Mina took another long drink. “Just leave me alone, Haruka.”
“No.” Haruka said. “I won’t. I’ll shut up about it if you want I guess,” she fiddled with the bottle in front of her, “but I won’t leave you alone.”
“You have better things to be doing.” She drained her glass, and set it at the edge of the table.
Haruka waved her hand. “Naw, Michiru’s painting with the girls tonight, I was just gonna work on my models. Besides,” she leaned over a touched Mina on the hand, so she would look up at Haruka’s smile, “I can’t leave after you screamed at two dudes so I could have a table. You’ve basically trapped me here. And,” She picked up a menu and displayed it proudly, “I love their tater tot menu. So I’m staying.”
The waitress came over, a smile on her face and a white half-apron around her waist. She picked up Mina’s empty glass.
“Can I get you another one, honey?” She must have been ten years’ Mina’s junior, probably the age Mina was when it all happened, when they fought that last battle, and they won, and they died, and they lived, and their powers were lost to them forever.
“God, please.” Was all she could manage in response.
“Can I have the pizza tots, please?” Haruka handed the menu back to the waitress, who nodded and headed back toward the kitchen. “Mina,” she stumbled for something to say, “I’m working on an article about the rise of the midrange convertible. I know you love those little things, and, I’ve got an in at Toyota to talk about the Solara and why it didn’t work, assuming I can get them to admit it didn’t work because it was about as exciting as a tongue depressor,  but--”
“You’re really bad at distraction, buddy.”
“That’s true.” Haruka shrugged. “Are you going to the memorial tomorrow? I think we are.”
The waitress set down Mina’s drink and scurried away, as if fleeing the tension of the conversation.
“Probably should, since a couple hundred people died.” She took a swig.
“You know what I think makes it hard?” Haruka took a drink of her beer and leaned forward. “We know what happened. We know why it happened. But we can’t tell anyone, or we might fuck everything up. Everyone thinks it was some….you know, accident or something. But it wasn’t, Mina.” She looked Mina right the eye. “A lot more people would have died without us, and in a, you know, a fair world, you’d be a hero. I would have died if you hadn’t been there, I almost did anyway. You’re a hero to me. I wish everyone else could know.”
Mina looked at her for a moment, not speaking, not able to speak, just running over every decision she made that day in her mind, shaking her head softly.
“You’re really happy now. You used to be so moody.” It was not a question, just a statement of honest fact. “I’ve never seen you so,” She ran through the words in her mind, all of which seemed varying shades of right but imprecise, imperfect, as if the thesaurus of her mind was failing her. “Content. Fulfilled. And maybe,” her voice broke just a little, and she trailed off.
“Exactly! Life’s good!” Haruka rocked back, gesturing broadly. “Mina, I’m great, so, don’t ever feel bad because of me, because I’m doing really good, and, I’m getting a degree in the spring. Me. Haruka Tenoh. An actual college degree. And--”
“Maybe, “ Minas voice wavered, “I hate myself because I know that. And I know, if I could save everyone...I don’t know--” SHe broke off and looked down hard into her drink, trying not to imagine the faces of Ami and Hotaru, trying to forget Rei’s stumbling through the dark, Mako’s leg, detached from her body, Michiru, realizing she’d never pick up the violin again.
She failed, and she did perhaps the most terrifying thing Haruka could imagine.
She began to cry.
Haruka quickly wheeled over to her side and hugged her tightly. “Mina, it’s okay. It doesn’t matter what you would or wouldn’t do, cause you can’t. It’s not your fault. And anyway, you didn’t do it for me. How could you have? You didn’t know I’d be happy. Fuck, I wanted to die for like..a year. You did it to save the world, and you did that.”
“Why didn’t I get hurt, Ruka?” She rested her head on Haruka’s shoulder.
Haruka laughed. “Because, like you said a million times, you’re a better soldier than any of us. Mina,” She rubbed her shoulders, “Sometimes things just...happen. And it's no one’s fault. And you have to, you gotta forgive yourself for not being able to like...change spacetime.” She drew Mina away from her shoulder and looked at her. “Trust me, I’ve spent a lot of time on this. There’s a lot of stuff I blamed myself for that wasn’t my fault. You’re not God, you’re just Minako. You do that pretty good. You tried.”
Mina sighed heavily and laid her head back on Haruka’s shoulder. “If you tell anyone I cried I’ll murder you.”
Haruka laughed heartily. “Wouldn’t dream of it. OOh!” Haruka whipped her head around and looked behind her. “My tots are coming!”
“Well. some things never change, I guess.”

Sailor Senshi and Shitennou Romance Essay -Sailor Mars and Jadeite
(Again a warning. Due to the way Tumblr works on the phone, this post is long and if you’re reading on a phone there is no read more button. Sorry in advance.)
Tumblr media
Whew boy, if ever there was a pairing that drew me into Sailor Moon way back when my sister was watching it as a kid, it was this one. I, to be honest, had a crush on Jadeite. He was a smooth type, and a villain that I really enjoyed, even with the weird filler stories. The thing is that, I liked Rei but didn’t like her at the same time back then. I thought she was too much like Usagi and felt that there wasn’t a lot to her in that sense. It’s hard to explain because looking back even I don’t really understand my like and dislike of her. The thing was that my sister then clued me into the manga and I started to look up the stories and as I got to know Rei more, I became more aware of the fact that I liked the idea of her and Jadeite. It just sort of clicked.
Tumblr media
Rei as a character is a very soft spoken serious type of person. She’s beautiful, in the old fashioned Japanese beauty type that her creator seemed to be going for. Long black hair, soulful eyes, and yet her distant and coldness seemed weird for someone who was connected to fire.
Tumblr media
At the same token you have Jadeite, who, until I read the manga, I had no idea what his actual powers were, and even then I was a bit confused by things…and then crystal came along and everything seemed to fall into place on why these two have a connection like they do.
Tumblr media
If you look at their powers, much like Jupiter and Nephrite, it’s hard not to see the connections between them, especially in this case. Mars is the god of fire, and as such Rei’s fire ability you would think would be a clash with her outer personality of someone cool, calm and collected. Yet, during Crystal, and in the manga, we see a lot of that comes from the fact that she’s passionate and compelled to keep the princess safe. She has no time for the frivolities of life, as her own desires come second to that of the princess and keeping her protected at all costs. Because of this, fire would make the most sense for her as with Rei, who hides her emotions so as not to get hurt again due to her father and the man she cared for, that internal need to cleans and purify, destroy but also protect and keep warm, grows inside her like a flame that bursts out. We’ve seen Rei mad, and we know that her temper can tear someone apart, yet she keeps that locked down hard and tries her best to not let her own feelings get to her or let others know that they have.
Tumblr media
On the flip side of the power though is Jadeite with his skills in creating golumns from the earth, and ice. You’d think, well ice is water, wouldn’t it melt by the heat. And there’s the thing, Rei is cold but compassionate. She keeps things locked in, but also can show others her feelings when she gets to know them. Jadeite, on the other hand, shows his emotions on his sleeve. He’s the first one we see smiling, and clearly the one that is the most fluid with his own feelings and the like. So why ice? Mostly because their opposites, fire and water, but with ice, it allows the flames to touch it before it melts away. Again, ice will melt in flames, but depending on the temperature of it, it takes longer. So I think the idea here is that while Jadeite can show his emotions better, that doesn’t mean that his darker feelings may be held close, thus the ice. And fire, when it heats clay, can create things. So by that, the two have a direct connection in that her power is what’s needed to complete his clay set up.
So what about their personalities…
Tumblr media
As I said Rei is a kind person but also one that comes off as distant.  A stoic and serious person who doesn’t involve herself with the opposite sex, Rei comes off as what is seen as the ideal Japanese beauty: reserved, beautiful, and intelligent, which fit her role at her Grandfather’s shrine as a miko perfectly. This more serious nature allowed her to have a strong bond with the silly but serious Venus/Minako as well as with Usagi. When Usagi first meets her she instantly recognizes her elegance and beauty, and it’s something that draws her to Rei. Only when she gets there does she see that Rei is dealing with a lot of mental anguish due to people harassing her as a weird girl, who they think has been causing children to disappear. It’s an interesting moment as we see that Rei is someone that truly cares about others but refuses to let her own emotions get the better of her. We see Later, when she’s confronting Jadeite that her emotions can come out in a firery blast, as when she transforms. And even before then we see her using her skills as a shrine maiden to at least slow him down some. It shows her determination and will is very strong and nothing is going to keep her from doing her duty.
Tumblr media
At the same time Rei is, rather sad. She lost her mother, and her father is neglectful due to his job as a politician. It stands to reason that, unlike Makoto who uses her cheerful nature as a means of dealing with her own loss, Rei is more inclined to bury those feelings and focus on what she’s devoted to. She has her grandfather who keeps her happy, and her friends, but as the Casablanca story indicated, there’s more to her than what we know in regard to her view on love. Mars herself seemed to give up her own feelings to be devoted to the princess, something I think Serenity would have disliked immensely had she realized what was going on there.
Tumblr media
For Rei, love is something that scares her it seems. Not that she doesn’t want to be in love, but rather that the love that she wants to feel is something that is true, and not twisted to be used on her, as with the man that her father set upon her. When Zosite confronted her, it was clear from the memory that her feelings for Jadeite of the past were there, and probably stronger than she realized, and yet, she still is determined to be there for the princess above all else. It’s also telling in her own visions that she saw Jadeite harming Usagi, something that didn’t happen in Crystal, but showing that both people are important to her, even if, at the time, she didn’t realize it.
Tumblr media
Jadeite on the other hand… Is very different. Jadeite is a hard one to read given his past, what we were able to see about him, and what we’ve learned regarding Crystal and the images that it shows of him there in. Again Jadeite now is the twisted version of himself, but there are things we can gleen from it, as with Nephrite. There’s a lot to unwrap with him, and he’s again the odd one in my opinion given he’s the second youngest of the group.
Tumblr media
One thing that stands out with Jadeite, in both his twisted and non-twisted form is the aspect of waiting. He plays the long game, and seems to let things build as if he’s trying to feel things out. Right from the get go you can tell that he’s a person that has a lot of perseverance and a willingness to seek some sort of balance or inner calm. You may not think that watching him on the show, but it does stand out and shows he’s probably closest to his old self more than the others. His instincts seem to be driving his choices in the show, and we see that when he brings the humans and puts them in piles. You’ll notice that he makes sure that the kids are laying or resting on adults or each other. No one is just thrown on the floor, they are actually laying in ways that could be seen as comfortable. This tells me that of all things Jadeite is the type of person that wants others to have some form of comfort in their lives, even when he’s being rotten. And that’s the thing about him that is odd.
Tumblr media
Takauchi mentioned in her Material’s collection that he’s the ruthless and serious type, and yet she gave him the title of Patience and Harmony, two things that may not go at all with that idea. But there is something to that. The idea of someone being ruthless normally has negative connotations, since she’s listing this as part of his Dark Kingdom type, one could pull from that a lot about his character. That he comes off as merciless that he’s someone that doesn’t care and is cruel, and yet we see that that’s not the case. While with Rei he actually comes over and touches her face, he actively engages in trying to figure out why he’s attracted to her. Someone who is ruthless also doesn’t have to be cruel, rather it’s used for someone extremely determined. People tend to use the term when discussing someone who comes off as distant and serious, or very determined. This is part of the reason why I think that Jadeite’s personality, or at least his real self is a kinder person who comes off as slightly aloof, and yet also the most friendly of the group.
Tumblr media
We know that he was cared for a lot by Zosite and Nephrite, given the fact that both go to large lengths to get even with the girls after his death in the manga. But that brings up the question of why, and the answer is because he’s the one that makes them feel loved in a lot of ways. What I mean is that unlike say Kunzite, Jadeite is more willing to deal with their quirky personalities. Nephrite being so compassionate and willing to deal with a lot of emotional issues, would probably go to Jadeite to talk to about his own issues. And Jadeite, being the knight that he is, would listen and try to find some way of helping him balance his emotions. On the other hand you have Zosite who doesn’t show a lot of his own emotions, and yet Jadeite could probably pull that out of him with some sort of joke that would throw him off guard. He’s the one that assure them that there’s a reason why they were knighted and that, even with their natures, they’re helping the people that are ruled under by Endymion and his family.
And I think that aspect of him plays out too with the girls in the show. Even when he’s using his monsters on Naru, he takes his time to consider what he’s doing. He doesn’t harm others he just traps them, and seems determined to play out certain things and wait on the girls to come to him, not the reverse. I think that’s one thing that keeps him connected to the others, he’s the voice of waiting and time. Where as Nephrite and Zosite would probably suggest charging in, he’s the diplomatic one that would tell the others to hang on and see what comes of the situation first before making a bad move. This is why I think that he and Mars got along. While they can both be serious, Mars could see that calm balance in him that she herself longed for, and for Jadeite that hidden fire was something that probably drew him like a moth to a flame so to speak.
Again this is hard for me because they are two of my favorites but it’s hard to explain why.
So connections between them….
Tumblr media
So this one comes off as a bit harder than Nephrite and Jupiter’s connections. There’s a lot of connections but at the same time, you have the issue of Mars’s personality that can cause things to be difficult to see, as she doesn’t just wear her heart on her sleeve the same way Jupiter and Venus do. It’s clear that Takauchi wanted to explore more about them, given that she had Jadeite indicate that he knew her, yet she was never able to go beyond that moment. But one can see things, so let’s look at them. One thing that they have in common is the fact that both are the calmer advisors of the group. Mars’s role within the scouts seemed to be the one that was the most direct with the princess as well as the most protective. Given what we know of Jadeite’s passed self, based on the whole issue with the Shitennou, it’s not that hard to see a similar situation with him, where he has to go and deal with Endymion. This is something that I think they seem to share, or in the case of Jadeite post return, would share with the earth counter parts. Rei seemingly was the one that kept reminding Usagi to study and focus a lot of the time, and Jadeite, given his age, would most likely be the same for Mamoru due to him probably going to the same school.
Tumblr media
Mars, much like Rei, is the ranged fighter of the group, given her choice of weapons and the stances in her past memories. We see this with Jadeite as well, given his attacks, like Mars’s are actually something that can affect people at a distance and, I will point this out, both ice and fire can burn and hurt as well as heal and cleanse. It’s an interesting dynamic. One can even point out that the freezing attack that he hits the girls with early on is similar in tone to her own early fire attack, yet the similarities don’t just end there as Jadeite also bears a resemblance to Rei’s own color scheme in the manga. There’s also the fact that in the manga he also has the red in his uniform, but this was changed to an opposing color, making him blue jadeite, which has more properties connected with his role. Yet the blue and the red are seen as the main colors connected to their elementals, and they are the only two that have this going in regard to the couples. I get the feeling that Jadeite can relate a lot to Mars’s view point on protecting the prince, given that he’s the one that feels the most likely to want to play a long game in waiting for him and acting like an angry mom when he got back from his little interlude with Serenity.
Tumblr media
They both seem to share in the serious nature of responsibility. Mars chides the princess for being down there, and at the same time you can tell that she feels worried about how much the princess understands the problem she is making. It wouldn’t be too surprising if Jadeite saw that same issue but came at it from a different point of view. Whereas Mars seems to be upset and gives Serenity a discussion when she gets back, I have a feeling Jadeite, in all his willingness to wait and catch Endymion for not doing what he’s supposed to would probably have set up some sort of test (as I’m sure he probably was helping him with his lessons) that put the young prince on the spot and he would then be able to give him a lecture about being responsible.
Tumblr media
It wouldn’t be hard to see Jadeite seeing the determination of Mars as something attractive and yet also seeing that under that more serious tone was someone who was just as kind and probably understanding as he was in so many ways. No doubt he would have allowed her to do as she would following her and trying to be as helpful as possible, waiting to see what she would do and trying to get a better understanding of her character. We can see with his head shot that he was the most willing to smile and feel at peace even when the girls were there, and given the headshots. It’s clear that Jadeite was someone that Mars would see as a comfort to have around, as his kinder personality probably made things a lot easier for her when they were around earth at the time. This is not to mention the fact that Mars and Jadeite share an easy way of blushing, as we see in the headshots, Jadeite is quick to embarrass and probably dosen’t take compliments well, the same can be said of Rei or Mars.
Tumblr media
Mars more passionate side would probably pull that out of Jadeite, making her the more dominant of the pairing and putting him as someone that would support her. No doubt, he would also pull her softer side out, showing her why he was given the title harmony in his knighting. He would easily figure out Mars goal of protecting the princess and probably understand that the best of the others, as someone who would see why she would chose to do something like that. Meanwhile Mars probably could easily get to have Jadeite fluster or show different more passionate senses of emotion, be them rival and challenging, or straight up anger in some way or another. She would also probably pull the romantic side out of him and compliment him in creating the golems, including using her fire to make them stronger like rock. Showing that their connection goes deeper with that aspect as clay is stronger when it’s been fired, thus making it like rock, and thus probably indicating a strong foundation on which they probably had their relationship.
I get the feeling that the two were the more elegant of the three couples under the leader of Kunzite and Venus. Jadeite would have a lot of admiration for Mars being able to not want to light a fire under Serenity’s feet given how her personality was, and Mars feeling a lot of appreciation in the fact that Jadeite could not get angry or annoyed with the quirky personalities of his fellow knights. As I said before it’s not hard to see how these two would have their powers working in tandem. Jadeite using ice to freeze or hold someone in place while Mars either cleanses them or destroys something dangerous using her fire. And again, as above the whole idea of making his minions like rock, vs. just clay that could be destroyed faster. It would make them a strong pair on the battlefield, as well as the ones that could use their powers to delay others from leaving before some sort of agreement could be reached via talking.
As for Rei and Jadeite, there’s a lot more to go with there when (not if) the Shitennou come back.
Tumblr media
(Image is not mine and I’m looking for the artist if anyone knows who drew this please let me know so that I can give them credit.)
How to even talk about this. These two are a match for each other, but aren’t as physically telling as say Nephrite and Makoto, or Minako and Kunzite. One of the biggest factors when Jadeite returns is gaining her trust back. While Rei now remembers the past, and knows that he was being brainwashed, that still doesn’t compensate for the fact that he did take children and cause her grief for it. On top of that Rei is, as noted, afraid of relationships with men due to the way her father treated her mother, and how Kaidou treated her. It would be a huge thing to overcome for the two of them as Rei’s feelings need to come first above all else and that’s something that I think the calculating Jadeite could get. He’d wait, and tell her that, choosing to plan every last detail on how he was going to get past her walls and into her heart, because that is what he does.
Tumblr media
Jadeite’s title is the perfect match for Rei’s issues. He’s patience and willing to take his time with things, something that Rei needs given her own problems, and also someone who is balanced and can see the need of such a thing for their relationship to move forward. Jadeite could wait it out, coming over time to see her, making it slowly go up how often he comes and stays at the shrine. Keeping out of her way, and giving her enough space, and yet being there when she needed to talk or someone to listen to her, or to just sit in silence. No doubt he would find out what he could from her grandfather and work that factor into his plans. Probably going out of his way to either speak with Kaidou or her father and put it out there how much their actions had hurt her.
One thing for sure, I can see him being attracted to her more reserved beauty, and yet being someone that didn’t fall in love with her over that factor. He would make sure to be kind to her crows as well as to probably get a job at the Shrine helping out in some way to get to know her life better as he worked out how to get her to trust him and return his affections. He’d also give her small things, flowers and the like, to connect to her own spiritual nature and would probably stay with her as she did her devotions and prayers as a Miko.
Tumblr media
Rei on the other hand would at first be wary of Jadeite. Not because of the fact that she disliked him, but because of the times that she got burned by her father and Kaidou. She would though see his intelligence and kindess as well as his earnestness to try to be there for her. Rei probably wouldn’t speak outright of her fears, but would try to get him to understand it in different ways, and Jadeite would be receptive to this. She’d probably help him to discover a deeper connection to his more spiritual side as he worked with her at the shrine, and something he would appreciate on not only a romantic level but a more friendly way as well. No doubt she’d also help him deal with his own fears and frustrations at being brainwashed and probably, to clear up his own issues in regard to Beryl possessing him, preform some sort of ritual to keep bad spirits away.
Unlike Minako and Kunzite, or Makoto and Nephrite, Rei is less a social person compared to Jadeite whom this is a natural thing. However I don’t think he’s as friendly as he projects, feeling more at ease with someone like Rei who isn’t wanting to go every where and do everything. It’s easy to see these two working hard to keep the others safe from the more spiritual entities that could harm the Princess and the Prince. I can easily see Jadeite looking up to Rei for her ability to focus on not only her role as a scout and a student but her job at the Shrine and her situation with her father and his political position. On the other side of things Rei would find Jadeite’s way of finding balance even in a more turbulent situation something that would be both endearing and safe to her. The two I think would have a close friendship built around the idea of spirituality and the desire to find a way to focus on what’s important to them and also those around them.

Unlike with Nephrite and Makoto, the age difference wouldn’t be that big, as Rei would have to be about 16 to 17 at the point in the story when they would come back. Jadeite would have to be the same age as he was when he was first destroyed, meaning he’s 18, so when he comes back he’s closer to her age by a year. This would mean that you could potentially have a relationship forming for them earlier than Nephrite and Makoto. Jadeite would probably be in the same school as Mamaru went to a year before, so they probably would have some sort of relationship going there and no doubt Jadeite would be a solid student, so helping out Usagi and Minako would be something that he would do along with Rei.
These two I can’t see being physical in public, more so in private, but in quieter ways. Hand holding could be a thing, but more likely it would be finger holding over outright hand holding. And anything romantic would be kept on the down low between them, as Rei isn’t the sort to kiss and tell. While Jadeite would certainly be the sort to, at the very least, come up with more natural romantic moments for them to have over the course of time, given his long game plans.
So what does Rei see in Jadeite?
Tumblr media
The very first thing that comes to mind is the fact that she would see his more strategic demeanor. Unlike the others Jadeite mostly is the sort to stay calm and I think that would be the thing that drew her to him. Rei would also see his gentle qualities as well, noting that he’s the sort of person that could easily work with her in regard to the shrine as well as with the other scouts. I could easily see Rei finding Jadeite a bit like herself. He keeps to himself mostly, and focuses on his present life rather than his past. I could also see her appricating his looks but in a way that is different. Given that Jadeite has blonde hair and blue eyes it would naturally stand out and probably make him a target for teasing, something Rei wouldn’t tolerate, and make it her mission to help him deal with that there.
Given that his memories would be back, Rei would also help Jadeite find a way to center himself emotionally from his recent actions. The fact that he would probably be the one that would want to make amends as soon as possible to his prince would show her a deep devotion that she could completely understand on a personal level. I can also see her spending time with him at the shrine as he learns more about his past, and probably helping him to come to grips with the fact that he died and came back again. Something that she would understand. No doubt Rei would still be wary of him due to her own issues and that’s something that she would try to understand as he worked on befriending her. I think she would also see his kindness and some of his insecurities, and be drawn to that aspect of him that she would want to help him grow from those and become a stronger person.
So what does Jadeite see in Rei?
Tumblr media
Oddly, a soulmate. I know this sounds corny but I can see him being the first one to fall in love with her this time. Given his true personality, Jadeite would see in her that sadness and fear that she has, but also the fire and passion that under that. I think he would see her as a person he could trust and fully feel that she was someone that he could become devoted too and understand his own devotion and long game nature. One thing about Jadeite was that he was entranced by her beauty, and I think that that would be part of the thing that drew him to her in the first place. He sees in her someone who comes off as unattainable, but really isn’t. Someone that he could talk to about things that the others may not get as they seemed to be more action now than action later, which is something I think he would find similar in Rei.
On top of that I think Jadeite would see her wisdom and grace. He could tell that she was in pain, and would want to help her by finding a way to have her deal with what happened with her parents. Even if she couldn’t fully forgive her father, I could see him working on getting her to find a way to accept the faults that happened in the past and move on to be a more balanced person. I think that Jadeite would bring her warmth and hope, someone that she could really put her trust in and one that wouldn’t hurt her or betray her. Honestly, I can’t see these two fighting. Like, if they did, it would be more a discussion, and then silence for a long time, as they tried to work out how they felt over out and out fighting. On top of that I could see him seeing in her a power that he sees in himself, or at least feels is there. Raw energy from fire and water could make for some interesting moments between them, because water by nature is fluid and fire is also willing to go where the wind blows it.
So how would these two have met in the past and how would they meet in the present.
Tumblr media
(Credit: Again if anyone can point me in the direction of the right artist, please do so I can credit.)
In the past I feel that Jadeite and Mars met in a very different way than the others. Where as Nephrite used his charm to win over Jupiter, and Zosite was more direct in his way of helping Mercury, I think Jadeite would have just tagged along with Mars. Given what Mars said, that they came down to follow her and find out what was going on. I could easily see this turning into something of interest for Jadeite.
The way I see it Mars was probably seeking out the Princess the most seriously, worried about her wellbeing and probably the one that was the most actively seeking her out around the castle. It wouldn’t be that much of a shock to see Jadeite doing the same for the Prince. He would know that Endymion probably was out and about hiding from whatever studies that he had to do, and more than likely got alerted to the fact that there was someone creeping among the garden. Given Jadeite’s personality he probably found her and was watching her for a good long while, trying to figure out who she was and what she was doing there. He would have allowed her to explore, but eventually confronted her and, I wouldn’t be surprised if he told her exactly who he was and basically put her under “arrest” for trespassing.
Tumblr media
(Again please tell me who drew this so I can credit. Thank you)
However, Mars would have probably told him why she’d come and insisted on finding the princess, promising to leave after as she didn’t want to be there either. I can easily see the two agreeing to a truce of sorts, Jadeite sensing that she was telling the truth and smiling all the while trying to be as much of a gentleman as he could be. By the time they found the two, I think they would have at least made a slight friendship and agreed to meet again, as a way of keeping the Princess and Prince happy. Since the girls clearly returned more than once, I have a feeling that Jadeite probably fell in love with her early on, but Mars may have taken more time to get to know him. All the while he showed her the world of music and probably the way that humans lived on earth and let her see the balance in the way life was there.
My guess is that, given Jadeite’s appearance at the tree, he was probably the one to greet her frequently with a calm smile, and trying to not seem overly enthusiastic that she’d come back, but he couldn’t help but grin at the thought of her being around him. Mars for her part, tried to cover her feelings but they would come out in surprising ways that would embarrass him, either in the forms of questions about the world or himself, as I get the feeling that she would have been the least likely to know about love and all that. Or at least pretend to for the sake of getting under his skin, thus making him blush. Honestly it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the two of them were the most easily embarrassed of the group in regard to their own thoughts on love or the subject of it.
Tumblr media
Given the fact that Jadeite had the reaction of touching her while she slept, I have the feeling that this was something that happened a lot, where he would just gaze at her while she was resting and possibly touching her face and the like because of how lovely she was. I also get the feeling that they, like Mercury and Zosite, when the issues came up with Beryl I have no doubt they suffered in silence rather than make things harder for the others and focused their pent up emotions on their foes, making them far more devastating when attacking. Given the slowness of their romance I would assume that Mars and Jadeite would have been the last to actually wed, and it would more than likely be something simple over something dramatic, like Nephrite and Jupiter.
As for the present,

I have a feeling that when Rei and Jadeite meet it will certainly be through Usagi over Mamoru in this case. Jadeite’s looks would garner enough of a reputation to have Usagi notice him, and more than likely he probably would be at the school that Mamoru used to go to meaning that she would know exactly how to meet with him in person through Mamoru’s underclassmen. Rei and Jadeite would have a long time starting off as friends, because of his look to Kaidou and the past, though Jadeite would be struck with her beauty once more and certainly compliment her on that, but really fall for her over her integrity and her devotion to her grandfather and her own determined will. Jadeite is the least flirty along with Zosite so I don’t see him being too much of a flirt with her, but possibly teasing the fact that she certainly stands out as the traditional beauty compared to her friends.
One thing for sure he would make it a mission of his to help her deal with her fear of men, no matter how long it took. He would at least want her to know that it’s okay to become close to a guy, even as a close friendship and not everyone is going to be like her father. Jadeite, being the younger man that he is would more than likely be a student, though given his personality, I have this weird thought that he probably got stuck being a stage idol for a while or a model given his looks. (Again, natural blonde and blue eyes are not common in Japan and he would certainly get a lot of attention due to it.) It’s really hard to not see him somehow being the first to get associated with the girls due to his age, and personality being far more social than Zosite. Eventually I could see him working at the Shrine to both be closer to Rei, but also because it feels like the sort of place he would be the most at peace as someone who is involved in balance and harmony and patience.

As with Nephrite and Makoto, I can’t see these two being rivals, but rather allies in various things. Jadeite would certainly make sure to be part of Rei’s life, and I wouldn’t put it past him to give a long lecture or “punish” Kaidou for what he did to her in the past. More than likely he probably would want to talk to her father and make him know how his actions have affected Rei, and even if they can’t get along, he should learn to understand her feelings and why she is angry at him. I think if anything Jadeite’s more balanced nature would bring some of the softer side of Rei out around him, and give him something that others can’t see with her.
Jadeite certainly would be jealous of other guys around her, but I have a feeling that Rei may feel some of that too when girls come after him in her own way. These two probably would be the second least direct in public about their relationship, however I do think that these two are the most complex about their relationship in private, and most of the feelings are shown through actions over words and grand gestures. Best example I can think of is Jadeite going out of his way to get special birdseed for her two crows, and Rei making some sort of spirit charm for Jadeite, who probably had the most in regard to nightmares being probably the first to wake up. I think most of their feelings would come out of their own passions and determinations for one another, as well as their desire to protect their team and their masters. I also feel that they could heal each other in a way that only they could fully understand.
As for their future?
Tumblr media
(Credit: Can someone give me the artist so I can credit) It would be a long, long, road for them. I have a feeling they would probably be the last to marry, but it would be the one that most of their group would be rooting for the hardest, because of their personal issues.
Tumblr media
As for jobs…Rei and Jadeite would work at the Shrine and take it over after her grandfather passed on. No doubt that Jadeite would work hard at becoming someone to help her run the shrine, possibly a monk (though I can’t see him cutting his hair) and if not that, then someone who runs the business end of it to make sure everything is going well.
Rei and Jadeite would have one another’s backs, I think. More than anything they would do a lot of things together, yet still give each other the space the other needs. If anything I think their own spritital balance and desire to do what’s best for others would be the drive to help each other out with their own fears and desires. No doubt that it would be a long courting but well worth it.
Tumblr media
(Credit: Again can someone give me the artist’s name)
Romantically, easily the longest for courting….hands down. Rei would take a while to even get used to the idea of Jadeite wanting to become a couple with her. However I do think that while he makes the first move at first, and is rejected early on, it’s her who makes the final one to solidify the deal later on, and I can see, as I said, a lot of silent courting between them. I can see Jadeite over time whittling down her fears and doubts about him by his actions, showing that he keeps his word and promises, and the fact that he’s way to patience for a normal person.
At the same time I can see Rei managing to get Jadeite to deal with his own issues in regard to feeling less than the other knights and probably seeing the honorable and passionate young man he is under the calm exterior. She would more than likely want to spend time with him alone in the garden of the shrine where the two could rest under the trees and just enjoy their time together. Jadeite would be more than willing to give her little trinkets that he got based on her likes and probably doing things for her, like cleaning the floor of the shrine as a way of showing his feelings.  In turn Rei would give him charms that she made, and probably go see his concerts, if I’m right on the idea of him being a singer (something that would connect with the harmony aspect). Not to mention the two would more than likely walk together and just be at peace with one another. I can see Rei’s grandfather constantly asking when they’re getting married, embarrassing the hell out of them. patience
As I said, favorite couple, hardest to write for. Next up Minako and Kunzite.

One Day in Paris (Haruka / Michiru Fanfic)
This is for a Haruka / Michiru exchange thing for @amrynth.
I’ve put the story behind the cut as it’s kind of long for a tumblr post.
One Day in Paris
By John Biles
For the Haruka/Michiru stuff exchange.
*******************
Some days, Haruka loved being a detective. A good, challenging mystery.  High speed chases on high mountain roads where one wrong turn meant going off a cliff.  Shootouts in a Monaco casino.  Romance under the stars.  Finding yourself tied up the next morning and your wallet stolen.  Being arrested as a homeless person and…
Okay, her last job hadn’t *ended* well, but the start had been awesome.
“But Saaaaaam,” Makoto wailed into her cellphone two desks down.  “I’m a detective!  I can’t just let criminals rampage even if we did plan this for a week!”
Detective Minako had legs which wouldn’t quit.  Wouldn’t quite *kicking her desk to a beat*, that is.  Detective Rei, who had the desk behind Haruka, was starting to crumple paper and make grunting noises, and this could not lead to *anything* good.
“So you’re saying it’s Lupin,” Detective Zenigata said, four desks down into his cellphone.
It’s never Lupin, Haruka thought, sighing; she was busy checking her email to make sure she hadn’t missed a summons from their boss. The last time she’d done that, Head Detective Setsuna had somehow gone back in time and wrecked the best date she’d had in high school.
Petty, yet powerful.
I need a mission, Haruka thought as Rei now rose and began heading over to Minako’s desk.
Also, I need to convince Head Detective Setsuna that this open office arrangement is a *bad idea*, she thought as Makoto now babbled to Sam; no one was sure if Sam was male or female; Haruka was pretty sure Sam was a woman, but whatever Sam was, Makoto was headed for another crash and burn.  Haruka would have felt sorry for her but now Clippy rose from the grave, occupying half the screen on her monitor.  ‘Do you want help with your resignation letter?’
‘I want a damn mission to get me out of this office,’ she typed in.  ‘Also, I thought you died.’
‘That is not dead which cannot die, but with strange aeons…’, Clippy began.
Not another cult case, dammit, Haruka thought.
“If it’s a woman, it’s not Lupin, it’s his confederate Fujiko,” Inspector Zenigata said into the phone. “Be very careful; she is nearly as cunning as Carmen Sandiego, who *still* has my Betamax, dammit.”
A coffee mug slid onto the desk, and Haruka started, then saw it was Detective Usagi.  “I thought you were on the Osaka Jewelry case,” she said to Detective Usagi.
There was a crashing sound as half of everything on Detective Minako’s desk (six figurines of Sailor V, five of various idols, four pictures, a baseball signed by Babe Ruth, and a stack of books Minako would never read but claimed she would) all fell off it because Rei and Minako were engaged in either a fight to the death, foreplay, or probably both, Haruka assumed.
It had been kind of sexy the first three times but after Minako had accidentally somehow knocked Haruka’s favorite racing trophy into the toilet (which was fifteen meters away, an act which was *never* clearly explained to Haruka), Haruka now wished they would keep it at home and be professional at work, like *her*.
“I want to explain it to you, but the Kingdom of D was involved and Umino had to pass himself off as the princess and I just don’t want to think about it,” Usagi said, looking haunted.
“If those two weren’t separated at birth, I will be stunned,” Haruka said, then tried her coffee.  She took Usagi’s hand and squeezed it.  Usagi turned a little red. “You are a master of coffee.  Did you catch the thief, then?”
“It was all a trap to kidnap the princess, and we barely rescued Umino from the deathtrap when they realized they had the wrong person,” Detective Usagi said, trying to sit on Haruka’s desk.
Makoto sat at her desk, clutching her head, while Detective Ami patted her shoulder over and over, trying to help but not knowing what to do.
“I think I have to help Makoto,” Usagi said.
“Drop by any time,” Haruka said.
DING.
Salvation had arrived.  A mission, so she could get out of this madhouse before…
“So is that your gun, or are you happy to…” Minako began.
“It’s my gun,” Rei said irritably as she tried to pin Minako.
“That joke only works with Detective Conan or Inspector Zenigata,” Ami pointed out.
Minako sighed.  “Ami, the straight woman’s job isn’t to ruin my jokes.”
The mission was to investigate the break-in at Renate Jewels in Paris.  Ahh, gay Paris, Haruka thought with satisfaction.  A city of beautiful buildings, great food and drink, love, and… hopefully not another chase through the sewers.
“No one in this place is straight except maybe Conan but he’s too young for us to think about that,” Ami said.
“Ami, you made *me* the straightwoman,” Minako said mournfully.
Haruka fled to get in her car and drive to Paris.
******************* Haruka then remembered it was not in fact possible to drive to Paris, so she got a plane ticket and arranged for a Lamborghini to be waiting for her in Paris.  When she arrived, she got it and… immediately fell asleep from jet lag in the parking lot of the rental place.
The next morning, she woke up, went to her hotel, took a shower and headed off to investigate the case, hoping the trail had not gone cold.  She felt alive; she needed her missions to give her purpose after she’d been banned from racing, even if it was all that freak Dirk Dastardly’s fault!
Then she headed out to Renate’s Jewels, a beautiful boutique near the Seine; a superheroine and a villain were fighting on a roof nearby, but Haruka ignored them; they had no jewels and were not part of her very important mission.
Renate was a middle-aged redhead who looked oddly familiar to Haruka, but Haruka didn’t worry about that, since it probably wasn’t going to be relevant.  “So she seduced you, tied you up, and then stole everything.”
“I wouldn’t have minded being tied up if she hadn’t *stolen* everything,” Renate said, then swooned.
Haruka caught her and put her up on her feet.  “You should probably loosen your corset so you can breathe properly,” she said very seriously.
Renate said, “I’m going to need your help, detective.  Why don’t we go upstairs and you can help me do it.”
“Sorry, fair lady, but I’m on a *mission*,” she said, kissing Renate’s hand, then quickly adjusting her corset without taking it off.   Soon, Haruka headed for the Regal Arms, as the thief, who Renate had identified as the notorious Jewel Thief Michiru from a photo, had left behind a pack of matches.  The place was huge and grand, exactly the sort of place for an exciting showdown.  Every piece of furniture was worth two years of Haruka’s salary.
That would make her triumph cooler.
She paused to adjust her suit in the mirror.  When confronting your nemesis, you have to have everything *just right*.  If your tie is out of place, it ruins the moment.
She then went to the front desk, presenting her badge and a photo of Jewel Thief Michiru running out of a shop with a bag full of jewelry.  “Have you seen this woman?”
The clerk adjusted her glasses.  “Yes, she was lounging around… our lounge… all night last night, looking increasingly cranky, then finally her friend dragged her upstairs with the help of the night concierge.”
Friend?
“Can you describe the friend?” she asked.
Hotel security footage showed Michiru, clutching a wine glass in one hand, unconscious and being dragged onto a luggage cart by a dark haired man in the hotel uniform and by a dark haired woman who was ambiguously teenage and wearing a black blouse, black knee-length skirt, black high stockings, black boots, black nailpolish and a pink rose over her heart which looked lost, but certainly stood out.
Haruka said, “Can you get a printout of that?”
After some tech fumbling, she and the desk lady got the footage sent to Detective Ami for analysis.  She also got the desk lady’s phone number, the address of a good chicken place, and the room number of Jewel Thief Michiru.
And the advice to never eat at Francois’ near the Arc d’Triomphe.  Or however you spell it; Detective Haruka never sweats the details.
The elevator took her to the twenty-third floor and she made her way down the hallway to 2307.  She pulled out the keycard the clerk had given her and unlocked the door.
“I’m going to have to steal the crown jewels,” she heard Michiru say; she flattened herself against the wall inside the little atrium; to her right was the changing area and a hanging closet; beyond that was the bathroom; she pressed herself against the left-wall, then realized it left her visible, so she slipped into the hanging closet, where a half-dozen dresses were hung up.
The burgundy one was the best, but Haruka wasn’t sure if it really matched Jewel Thief Michiru’s hair.  As she contemplated high fashion, she heard a woman she did not know.  “I’m sure she’s coming.  The Fox told us that her plane arrived last night.”
“Then why didn’t she come to the hotel?” a despairing voice said from the bed.
“Why do you *want* her to find you, anyway?  You’re not the Riddler’s sister, right?” the woman asked.  “I need the money to get Father exorcised, but if I go to jail, I can’t help him!”
“What good is stealing things if there is no one to recognize my skill?” Jewel Thief Michiru said.  “I am in this for the sport, to pit myself against the best.”
“Then why are you worried about this bozo?” the other woman asked.
“I am not a bozo!” Haruka said, coming out and throwing the finger of accusation at the other woman, who turned out to be the teenager from the photo, holding a short fighting staff.
Which she now flicked and it somehow extended into a glaive.
“Don’t bring a glaive to a gunfight,” Haruka said, drawing her gun.
“Now, now, Detective Haruka,” Jewel Thief Michiru said, getting up off the bed and striding closer, gracefully. “Point the gun at me and make empty threats.”
“They’re not empty!  I’ll shoot!” Haruka insisted.
“We both know you won’t shoot us,” Jewel Thief Michiru said, gliding closer. “Why didn’t you show up last night?”
“Jet lag,” Haruka grumbled.
Jewel Thief Michiru stopped, then said sympathetically, “I forgot to take that into account.  My apologies.” The other woman, still unnamed, frowned.  “Okay, what is *actually* up with you two?”  She had turned her glaive back into a staff and put it in her black purse.
“Oh yes, Haruka, this is my new assistant, Hotaru.  She’s a cyborg assassin from the future.”
“I’m not a cyborg *or* from the future,” Hotaru insisted.  She pinched her arm. “This time, anyway.”
“I’m from the future!,” another teenage girl said from the balcony; she wore what looked like a Star Trek uniform to Haruka.   But she was armed with something like a lightsaber.  The big heart on the end did make it stand out.
“No!  You’re going to ruin our sexy confrontation,” Michiru said angrily, pointing at her.   The glaive vs. Heartsaber battle began wrecking the hotel room, so Haruka said to Michiru, “How about if we check out this chicken place I know about until they’re done?”
“My plans… in ruins…”
Then the scented oils caught fire from a parried Heartsaber blow and the whole suite went up in flames.  Haruka picked up Michiru and ran.
***************
“So I got docked two weeks pay because Paris caught fire and it wasn’t even my fault,” Haruka groused to Usagi later as they ate okonomiyaki which Makoto had made them since they both had, as usual, no money.
Makoto flopped down on the other end of the couch with her pork okonomiyaki and put on Netflix.  “Did they riot?”
“Don’t let the boss know or I’ll lose even more pay,” Haruka said, shaking her head.
“He doesn’t know I sunk Atlantis, either,” Usagi said conspiratorily into Haruka’s ear.  Then she began stuffing her face.
I thought *I* sunk Atlantis, Haruka thought.
Makoto would never ever tell them it was the result of her trying to date a brother and a sister at the same time without either finding out about the other.  Never, ever.
So don’t tell Haruka now that you know.

Part six of HaruMichi Beauty and the Beast! See the Masterpost for previous chapters
——————
Haruka lie awake in bed. Michiru was… weird. She was a weird strange monster with a weird strange aversion to telling Haruka anything that could help.
Haruka thought about what it would have been like, walking in the garden with her when she was normal. Human. Haruka might want to… well, if she wasn’t afraid to touch her, she might have held her hand. There was something Haruka felt fondness for, under the claws and scales. If only…
Mina would interject there, Haruka knew. If there’s a big exception in the ‘everything’ you like about her, buddy, you don’t really like her.
But this was different, surely. This wasn’t someone who talked down to her or was a vegan or any of the other things that Mina had correctly predicted as dealbreakers. This was a bad situation, that Michiru clearly wanted out of. Maybe she didn’t say it, but Haruka knew.
She jumped up from bed and began to pace. There had to be something she could do. Haruka was handy. Haruka fixed all sorts of things. And maybe those things were inanimate, engines and toilets and the occasional bike chain, but really, she’d had to learn to do all those things, mostly through sheer stubbornness, so she could surely figure out a curse.
Usually, things weren’t really broken, they were just stuck or off track and needed guidance. Haruka looked out the window in the starry night and pondered. Michiru couldn’t tell her what was wrong, but neither could an engine. You had to take what signs you could and follow them to the problem.
What did she know? Michiru was cursed long ago, having once been beautiful. Beautiful and high class. She became something monstrous, and seemed to feel it was appropriate.
That was it! Haruka smacked the side of her head for not realizing sooner. She dashed from her room.
When Haruka had realized who she was, a lesbian and a butch one at that, she’d been afraid. She’d felt, well, monstrous. Inhuman. If there had been any magic in her small town world, it might have made her feelings real. And for Michiru, it had. It was so simple. No wonder Usagi and Makoto wanted them to spend time together. Michiru just needed to see it was okay!
She paused at the stairs that led to Michiru’s chambers. Part of her recognized the boundary, that there was one thing she was told not to do and therefore she should not do it. But surely-- Surely!-- Michiru would not mind if it turned her back to normal. She bounded up the stairs two at a time.
“Michiru!” She called at the top. Nothing. Haruka followed the hall to the first open door.
Unease crept over her. It was a bedroom, and for all she joked that she’d never see a room in worse shape than Minako’s, this one took the cake. Claw marks marred the stone walls, the bed clothes were strewn across the floor, which was also littered with glass. The vanity against one wall had a shattered mirror, and the items that likely belonged on its surface were knocked aside, half broken.
Haruka’s every instinct told her to run. But her every instinct told her to run every time she saw Michiru, and it was crucial to not give in to that impulse. So she pressed on through the next door, to a small room with a balcony.
Curiously, the only decor here was upright and in tact— just a small table, bearing a hand mirror. Haruka picked it up. It did not show her face in the glass, but Mina’s. She was in their apartment, reaching into their fridge. She handed someone— no, Haruka recognized the outreaching hand as her own— a beer. The mirror made no sound, but Haruka could read Mina’s expression well enough. Don’t you ever scare me like that again.
“Do you show the future?”
The mirror did not change. Haruka chose to take that as a good sign.
“Can you show me breaking the curse?”
The image blurred. It showed Haruka’s hand again, this time reaching for Michiru’s claw. She gave a start at the contact, looked afraid, but then light washed over her. As it faded Haruka saw she’d changed to what she must have looked like before, soft and gentle where she had been angular and cold.
“What are you doing?” Came a hiss from the shadows.
“It showed me breaking the curse!” Haruka set the mirror aside, ready to embrace Michiru. “I came to try, see, I thought maybe you needed to know it’s okay if you like women, and I don’t know if that’s right, but I’m going to do it!” Michiru still did not come forward into the moonlight. “I saw it, I just have to—“
“The mirror only shows you what you want to see.” Michiru’s voice was low. Fear shocked through Haruka’s bones, but she fought it down. “The events it shows will never come to pass.”
“I don’t think that’s true.” Haruka approached her slowly. She just had to take her claw in hand, and then… Her whole arm shook. “I just have to—“
Michiru rushed her as she had the first night, slamming her against the wall, one claw at her neck. “Do you think you know better than me? Do you think you are the first fool to think I could be something else?” Her claw wrapped around Haruka’s throat. “What, you saw a beautiful woman in the mirror,  and now you want her? You think I am something good, if only I did not scare you?”
She tossed Haruka to the floor.
“I will always scare you. It does not matter if I look like this or what you saw. I am not gentle and I am not kind. Those below me live on my mercy and I will not submit to anyone.” Michiru threw the mirror against the wall. It fell to the ground with a clatter, but did not so much as chip. “You will run, when you realize. I am not grateful for your efforts. I have loved and been loved and it does not matter.”
“But—“
“No.” Michiru struck the table aside. Haruka’s heart raced in her chest. “The people of the town turned against me because they knew what I was. I would not change for them or for love or for anything else. And I will not change for you.” She slithered back towards the door. “I have quite enjoyed your company, but I don’t wish to see you any longer. Keep out of my sight until you friend comes for you.”
Haruka lie on the floor, listening as she retreated. Panic gripped her too much to move. Panic, and pain.
“Oh Haruka,” came Usagi’s voice after a long while. “I told you not to come here.” She lifted Haruka gently, her cool touch easing the tender bruises before they fully formed.
“Have there been others like me?”
“Not many.” She pulled Haruka to lean against her body. It felt like a cloud. “You’ve done more than she expected. I don’t think any girl has tried this hard since she was human.”
“Can’t you tell me what you know?”
Usagi made a small, mournful hum. “Michiru thinks I’m stupid, and Mako tries not to, but she does too. But I can put things together pretty okay, so I know more than I’m supposed to.” She stroked Haruka’s hair with her fingers. “We were all pawns for her, to an extent. She’s genuinely fond of Mako and I, but we’re an anomaly. The townspeople, her suitors, everyone, she cared about only so far as what they could offer her. She wanted more than just a big house in a small town. And her family was so rich, she probably could have gotten it. But the town started to suspect she didn’t care about them, and times were changing. They elected a mayor, and he thought it would be strategic for Michiru to make a sign of goodwill. A marriage.” Usagi chuckled a little. “It’s strange the townspeople liked him, he was just as entitled as our lady. But she rejected him, very publically, and it was not wise to do so.”
“So he cursed her?’
“Oh no,” Usagi shook her head vigorously. “Don’t you know, curses are women’s work.”
“So then…” Haruka puzzled over it for a moment. “Who?”
“I pieced together the rest, so I’m missing details. But like I told you, I know all the places one might have a foray with a suitor in this house. And Michiru hand a small handful, all women.” Usagi tapped her fingers again the floor. “One had a brother, around Michiru’s age. I imagine she offered a marriage to him, to appease the town and so that they might stay together, lest MIchiru be driven out.”
“And Michiru turned her down?”
“Our lady would not think any common girl worth that sort of bargain, and she likely said as much.” Usagi sighed. “I want her to think you’re worth it. I don’t know if you can love her, but if she can love you… maybe it would be enough.”
“Will you be free, if she is?”
“I don’t know.” She became solid for a moment. Haruka felt comfort in the warmth of her skin. “I know, sometimes, that time has passed. I don’t know what’s left in the world for us. But I don’t want to stay here.” She faded again. “You can run away, if you want. I would, if I could.”
“I don’t think I could.” Haruka caught Usagi’s translucent hand in hers. “I don’t love her. I don’t know if I can. But sometimes, I kind of like her. And I like you. Someone should fight for you.”
Usagi squeezed her shoulders. “If anyone can fight for us, I think it’s you.”

In the 90s anime, I kinda wish Usagi and Mamoru had gotten together mid-season of Black Moon rather than get together, then break up, then get back together mid-season.  So rewritten version, Doom Tree shenanigans are done, but they aren’t sure what their relationship is supposed to be now. They used to argue, acted more friendly with one another during that elevator scene and a few times during the Doom tree arc, but were in love in the past. Since at this point of the story, their relationship hasn’t developed to romance yet, they stay as friends. Mamoru still teases Usagi but it’s more lighthearted and Usagi doesn’t get mad at about. Now instead of a break-up arc, replace it with one about destiny. Mamoru has dreams about a voice telling him that for the good future of his planet and with the other senshi, he has to make choices he feels are right without relying on what happened in the silver millennium. Usagi has one too.
They both think at first that this means that they shouldn’t be together as a couple, so there is no cold avoiding each other for 16 episodes. Just them kinda thinking about past life and the future, and sometimes overstressing over it but nothing like ignoring each other and what not. Throw in some moments with romantic development and the two question that if they click well, why shouldn’t they be together now. By the end, they realize that while they shouldn’t rely on the past, what they feel in the present has nothing to do with them being  lovers in the past life. Perhaps in the process, Usagi had a conversation with Minako about their past lives. Minako does joke a bit about how she didn’t like her visiting Prince Endymion on Earth, and that she would become tense when Serenity was thinking about him (like Minako in PGSM when she didn’t want the two to be together.) but she gives Usagi good advice on to follow her heart because she’s the senshi of love. Like maybe even Mamoru has a conversation with Rei where she mentions that while she doesn’t get along with Usagi sometimes, she chooses to be her friend for who she is now, regardless of them being close in their past lives. Blah blah blah, cue them getting together before they go into the future. King Endymion tells them that he had been sending the dreams so that if Prince Diamond ever tried to use his mind manipulation on whether they really loved each other or not, they would not have any doubts.

this secret between us
PGSM verse, Rei isn't dating Minako. If only she could convince everyone of that. (also here on ao3)
~~
The song was stuck in her head and as much as Rei would have liked to blame that on Usagi, this time it was Minako herself who had caused it.
She’d never expected to meet the singer, let alone discover that she was the Princess. She found her thoughts always going back to that and trying to compile things she knew about Minako but unfortunately one of those things was the song.
It wasn’t even that bad like she kept stubbornly telling the others it was, but it just played in her head almost non-stop these days.
 C’est la vie….
Rei made a face, annoyed she’d let it get to her, her fingers tapped against her broom as she swept the temple gates. The song cycled through her mind yet again but this time Rei froze at the lyrics.
 Sailor V.
Minako’s original disguise, it was right there in her lyrics and no one had even realized. It was a good thing she was alone because Rei felt like she was in shock, staring at nothing, in disbelief that Minako had done it.
On the other hand however she remembered Minako’s smirk when she showed up with canned dog food or when she tricked Nephrite with a case full of false crowns. It seemed exactly the sort of thing Minako would do based on all she knew but what was she thinking? Rei sighed, she could either let the whole thing go or confront Minako about it but either way this was going to bother her.
She was still thinking about it when she met up with the others at Crown, her attention fading in and out of the conversation.
Ami must have noticed because she tilted her head and shot Rei a confused look.
Rei shrugged, trying to wave it off, but Makoto and Usagi caught the look and directed their attention to her as well.
“Rei-chan?” Usagi stood up and rested her hands on the table, leaning on them and into Rei’s space. “You seem deep in thought.” Usagi pressed her lips together for only a second before she grinned widely, “Is Rei-chan thinking of someone special?”
Rei slid her chair back, about to refute the claim, when Makoto chimed in. “Ah, Rei-chan’s blushing!”
She spluttered, words dying on her lips. She couldn’t believe this was happening.
“Who were you thinking about Rei-chan?” Ami asked, still seated but looking up at Rei curiously.
She was so taken aback by the whole conversation that Rei just blurted out, “Aino Minako.”
“Eh?!” All three of them chimed.
She blinked and then scrunched her face in annoyance, “I didn’t mean it like that…” She tried to explain but they were all exchanging glances that she didn’t at all like.
“Rei-chan didn’t you say you met Aino Minako the other day…” Ami said and Rei immediately regretted telling her about the dog incident.
“Meeting up?” Makoto jumped on that, a grin forming on her face, “Secretly meeting?”
“Rei-chan!” Usagi cried, “How could you meet her without me.”
Makoto put a hand on Usagi’s shoulder, “It’s a secret meet up. Like lovers.” Makoto sighed fancifully.
“Rei-chan is lovers with Minako?!” Usagi looked back and forth between Rei and Makoto as though she was trying to reconcile the news. Her eyes lit up after a second and she once again dove across the table to grab Rei’s hand, “Can you get us tickets to her concert then?”
Makoto clamoured in with her agreement and when Rei glanced down even Ami was nodding along. She pulled her hand from Usagi’s grasp and crossed her arms. “There is nothing going on.” She said but it sounded false even to her.
Usagi pouted and straightened herself up.
“Then why were you thinking about her?” Makoto asked, “We all know Rei-chan doesn’t like music.” She continued to tease.
Rei blew a strand of hair out of her eyes, “I have to go.” She grabbed her bag and started towards the stairs. Behind her she could hear Ami and Makoto giggling.
“Why wouldn’t Rei-chan tell us she was dating Aino Minako?!” Usagi cried out at the same time Rei opened the door.
If she hadn’t been so flustered she may have noticed the girls in the hallway staring at her, or even Motoki looking at her in confusion as she reached the entrance, instead she barrelled through it and back to her the safety and silence of her shrine.
 ~~
Makoto, Ami, and Usagi had been calling her all morning but unless it was Luna and a monster Rei refused to pick up and hear more of their teasing. She was glad she didn’t have to go to school that day and instead had spent that morning praying by the fire before she had to give that up when she couldn’t concentrate fully.
The shrine was far too noisy, an influx of people had come in, much more than what they usually got and Rei stepped outside to greet people only to be met with whispers and pointing. She frowned in confusion before taking a breath to calm herself. Perhaps these were just tourist who had never met a shrine maiden before.
That thought was banished when she saw a couple of girls from her school also there, staring at her. Something was very clearly going on. Rei wandered through the shrine, trying to pick up the conversations with no luck and it was beginning to frustrate her. She was almost ready to kick everyone out of the shrine if they didn’t stop.
There was a light tugging at her skirt and Rei glanced down to see Artemis. Her mouth pressed into a line, that could only mean trouble. As discreetly as she could she picked up Artemis and followed his directions into the woods, coming across Minako resting against a tree.
“What is it?” She asked, glancing around the clearing for any monsters.
Minako smiled, like she knew something Rei didn’t which most of the time she did. “There’s no enemy.” Minako told her and Rei blinked in surprise. “Just this.” She handed Rei a newspaper much to Rei’s confusion.
She set Artemis down to take the paper and nearly dropped it when she unfolded it to read the headlines.
Star Aino Minako has found secret lover: a shrine maiden.
The picture of Rei on the front was just her sweeping the steps of the shrine and was juxtaposed next to a picture of Minako singing on stage. She caught glimpses of the article, girls hearing Rei was dating Minako from an anonymous source, and groaned.
“Usagi.” She muttered, wondering how she could fix this now. When she looked up at Minako the other girl was still grinning.
“You should have told me we were dating.” Minako teased, looking far too pleased with this development.
“You should have told people we weren’t.” Rei shot back.
Minako shrugged, “I could try to deny it but then people would believe it more. It’s best to let these things die down.” It was hard to see Minako’s eyes because of the shadow from the hat she wore but Rei could have sworn they were crinkled at the edges in amusement.
It occurred to her that she hadn’t seen that before on Minako, or at least not more than a flash of it. Not smug amusement but genuine. She wondered how often Minako got to have it with the burden of being the Princess on her.
She could tell Minako was waiting on her to reply and crossed her arms, “How long will this take to die down?”
“Hard to tell,” Minako said, “Maybe never.” She was smirking again, “I feel like I should take you out on a date.
Rei rolled her eyes, “I’m busy.”
“I’d be a good date.” Minako replied.
“I don’t doubt that.” Rei muttered to herself but Minako must have heard it because her eyes lit up and she took a step closer.
“So you think I am?” Minako took her cowboy hat off her head and placed it on Rei’s, “A token of my affection.”
Rei pushed the cowboy hat up but not completely off, “I don’t need it.”
“It’s still yours.” Minako put her hand on Rei’s shoulder and very solemnly said, “As a good girlfriend I insist.”
Before Rei could combat that Minako whirled, picking up Artemis, and walking out of the woods with a wave of her hand.
Rei sighed and trudged back to the Shrine, intending on spending the day inside. She’d forgotten the hat however so when she got back she was met with high pitched yells and people flashing pictures, it occurred to her later that might have been another joke from Minako.
 ~~
It did quiet down for a long time when Minako was spotted was at her studios with a man from another popular band. Rei’s shrine cleared out and all the teasing from Usagi, Ami, and Makoto went to a minimum. Though now it was just down to Usagi and Makoto and they had bigger things to worry about with Ami being captured.
Minako however didn’t seem to forget it at all. She winked at Rei when they met up, not the sort of one she’d do in the midst of battle when the two of them seemed to share and idea, but a teasing one meant to fluster Rei that worked every time.
The cowboy hat Minako had given her lay in Rei’s room, gathering dust, a reminder of the rumour running around as well.
She would have continued to leave it there except that Minako had tricked her into something again: singing publicly. She was right though, Rei was missing something and it hurt that Minako could see that but Rei had missed it in herself.
With a sigh she took the hat off the shelf she’d laid it on and stared at it like it could give her the answers she sought. She’d have to prepare for singing publicly, she could go to the Crown and hope it was empty.
Now that she had a plan in mind she dropped the hat back on the shelf but stopped before leaving the room, after a moment’s hesitation she snapped a picture of the hat with her phone. Maybe she could use it as part of her ensemble to dress up for her singing debut.
She made a face even at the thought of it but had no time to think of that now given that she was supposed to be singing that afternoon.
 ~~
Minako kept staring at the hat, Rei could clearly see that.
“I unlocked my powers.” She stated, though that was obvious given the fight they had just been involved in.
Minako met her eyes, serious for moment and every bit the leader that Rei had hoped she could be. She nodded sharply but then grinned and was back to staring at the hat, “Guess it made a good gift after all.”
“Eh?” Rei was taken aback and then she noticed that there was a small crowd gathering around them. She could hear whispers already and knew this would back fire. In a loud enough voice she stated, “We are not dating.”
“Maybe not yet.” Minako winked at her.
“Not ever.” Rei rolled her eyes, she was ready to storm out when Minako grabbed her shoulder.
“Good job.” Minako said quietly so only they could hear it.
Rei flushed at the sudden praise and it took her moment to get her bearings again and jerk her shoulder back when she noticed the whispers once more. With a nod at Minako she walked out, slipping out her phone to transform back into her regular clothes and meeting Usagi at the doorway.
“Rei-chan!! Was that you and Minako?!” Usagi gasped and Rei groaned, pushing her along with her and not answering any of Usagi’s questions.
 ~~
“Remember when everyone thought we were dating?” Minako’s voice surprised her, Rei had been focusing on watching Makoto trying to teach Usagi how to cook.
They were all gathered in Usagi’s kitchen, only her and Minako sat at the table while Ami and Makoto exchanged worried glances as Usagi’s cooking got worse.
Now they there wasn’t the threat of monsters looming over them anymore and their powers were gone they had normal days like this, where they could just enjoy each other’s company and be glad they had all lived through it.
Rei was especially glad that Minako had lived through it and come back to them. She didn’t want to relive the grief of losing her over again.
In answer to Minako’s question however she sighed and nodded. The whole assumption they’d been dating had been wiped from everyone’s minds when things got rewritten but everyone in this room could still remember.
Minako glanced over at her, with that small secretive smile but instead of annoying Rei like it used to she returned it with ease.
“You owe me a hat.” Minako teased and nudged Rei with her shoulder.
“Then I’m owed a date.” Rei said back, crossing her arms stubbornly.
“Next Saturday then.” Minako grinned and Rei realized she’d just walked into a trap laid by Minako again. Her shoulders relaxed though and she turned her head to hide her own wide grin. Minako must have been able to tell because when Rei turned back to meet her eyes Minako had leaned in closer till their foreheads were nearly touching and looked delighted by the turn of events.
Somewhere in the middle their hands met, just lightly brushing against each other and Rei linked her pinky finger with Minako’s, taking the first step to meet her so to speak.
“Minako-chan and Rei-chan are going on a date?!” Usagi interrupted them. Her, Makoto, and Ami were watching them and Minako and Rei exchanged a glance and began to laugh.
This time Rei didn’t correct them, this time she didn’t think they were wrong.

Birthday Drabbles!
So, it was my birthday about two days ago. I meant to post this then, but my WiFi went crazy on me and I lost the entire post before it had posted on Tumblr. Here are some drabbles to celebrate my birthday that won’t be posted on Fanfiction.net for a while.
The first one is the first chapter of something called Rewrite Our Fate. It’s something that randomly popped up to me and currently have two chapters in my document box or whatever you want to call it. It’s settings is after stars, the story pretty much explains it, I’m pretty sure.
()
Chapter One: Prologue
Notice: In this book, all the girls are the same age. Mamoru is only a year older than Usagi. It makes everything easier for me to keep track of ages, sorry if this bothers you ! It means that everyone, including Hotaru, is 24 and Mamoru is 25!
I don't own Sailor Moon! (Or else none of the senshis would've died in the fifth season! Don't get me wrong, I love Sailor Stars, but my heart can not handle this much emotions ;) )
After the fight with Sailor Galaxia, Usagi and the girls finished high school, and split up in different directions for college. Usagi began to feel frustrated as Crystal Tokyo never came. ChibiUsa was sent to the future to find out what was happening the summer after the last fight and never came back. Usagi and Mamoru are now married at the age of 24 and 25. Rei is now famous and works at Hikawa Shrine just like she wanted to. Minako is on a world tour currently, singing her heart out. Ami works at the hospital near Juban along with Mamoru, they both became doctors. Makoto owns a bakery in Hong Kong. Setsuna opened her own fashion bouquet but mostly work from home in Paris with Haruka who became a racer, Michiru who is a famous violinist, and Hotaru, who is currently a teacher at a school in Paris, occasionally being a substitute teacher for others.
When had they decide to split up, one might think? After the fight with Sailor Galaxia when they were 16, they waited four years until they made the decision together to go their own ways. It was even Usagi's idea! Although no one ever found out why Crystal Tokyo never came. Maybe Crystal Tokyo is waiting for ChibiUsa to be born. Or waiting for something to happen.
Usagi became a housewife. She had gotten good at this kind of stuff and had became less clumsy ever since she finished high school. Sure, she gets clumsy at certain situations, but it rarely happens now-a-days.
It was a early summer morning. Usagi had never been a morning person, probably never will become one, but when her alarm went off at 8 o'clock, she woke up anyways. She brewed some coffee and started cooking breakfast. Hearing shuffling from the genkan, she smiled when she saw her husband of four years walk into their house after a long night shift.
Mamoru put his stuff down and sat down at the dining table. Grumbling a thanks to his wife when a plate of bacon and eggs was put in front of him, Mamoru hungrily ate his breakfast. Usagi giggled at the sight and poured some freshly brewed coffee into two cups. She walked into the dining room, the two coffees in hand.
"How did it go last night?" Usagi asked, as usual, about Mamoru's night shift. Expecting something like a "pretty well" or "it was okay", Usagi almost spit her coffee out when Mamoru said,
"A bunch of teenagers were found unconscious in the Juban mall. Their energy had been drained."
"W-what?" Usagi said, setting her coffee down on the table almost too quickly. The bitter dark liquid splashed around in the cup, almost spilling over.
"I didn't believe it either, at first," Mamoru replied almost too calmly. "I don't think it's them either."
Usagi knew that he was referring to Dark Kingdom, an old enemy she had fought about ten years ago. It wasn't possible, was it?
"Then, other people had been brought in too. Some had plant vines tangled around their wrists and ankles. Some had this black moon mark on their forehead. Some had black stars on their forehead, and some people's body temperature was lower than humanly possible, as if someone had froze them into a giant block of ice-" Mamoru started saying. Usagi unexpectedly banged her hand on the dining table. Mamoru immediately stopped talking.
"I- I need a walk. I'm going to Mako-chan's bakery and catch up with her. I might go to the Crown's later. Call me if you need anything," Usagi said, her hands were trembling. Mamoru nodded and got up to go to shower.
Usagi left the house with some luggages and got to the bus stop in no time. She got on the bus toward the airport.
()
(An airplane ride and getting lost in Hong Kong for about an hour later...)
"Welcome to Mako's bakery, how can I help you?" a cheerful voice asked.
"A glass of vodka." Usagi replied, half joking.
"Usagi-chan, it's too early for that, isn't it? Have you had lunch yet?" Makoto replied, wiping her hands on her apron as she sat down with Usagi in one of the tables. Usagi checked her watch warily. It was about 11:30 am. Usagi mumbled a 'no' as Makoto grabbed a plate of white chocolate cake from the counter and sat back down again.
"Mako-chan, do you like your life currently?" Usagi asked, looking off to the distance.
"Of course! This is my dream that I had long given up. But I'm ready to give it up again, if that's what your asking. I'm sure the girls would say the same also." Makoto replied with a small smile. Usagi smiled, although it felt forced.
"I must be crazy," Usagi said, meeting Makoto's eyes.
"Why?"
"'Cause I think they're back..."
()
(Another one)
"Seiya-kunnnnn! Mamo-channnnnn!! Where are you guys?" A little 12 year old Usagi asked. Twelve year olds Seiya and Mamoru walked out of the horse stable, both grinning.
"We just finished horse racing. That was a good game, Seiya-kun!" Mamoru said. Seiya nodded in agreement and walked over to Usagi, taking her hand.
"C'mon, Kakyuu-ojousama's expecting us to join her for dinner." Seiya said, pulling his betrothed with him. Usagi reluctantly waved goodbye and went along with Seiya.
On the way there, Friendly Kinmokunians waved. The unfriendly ones, well they just growled at the moonie princess. The kingdom that Usagi lives in is the biggest. Including people like the moonies: decendents of the gods and goddeses of the Moon. The hot-headed: decendents of Mars. The intellengence: decendents of Mercury. The divas and the cooks/bakers : decendents of Venus and Jupiter. The pilots and mermaids/mermans for Uranus and Neptune. The clockmakers for Pluto, and last but not least, the "mothers" who controls the progress and process of rebirths. Each of the different types of people has sent a representative to the main palace from their parts of the kingdom, the Silver Crystal Kingdom. All the representatives get along well with Usagi, the princess who is going to be crowned queen in a few years.
By then, if she doesn't work things out, she's going to have to live her whole life with someone she doesn't truly love. She and Seiya were betrothed at birth, as far as she knows, her mom isn't going to change her mind easily. Everything was good, up until her 12th birthday. That was when she realized that she didn't have feelings for the one she was destined to be with, but the best friend she grew up with, Mamoru.
Of course no one except for her knows about this. To be honest, she had tried to talk to the Uranus and Neptune representative, Tenoh Haruka and Kaioh Michiru about it since they had announced their love for each other before, but every time she tries to bring it up, she ends up not having enough courage to tell them.
What was she suppose to tell them anyways? 'Hey, I kind of love my best friend, Mamo-chan and I don't have feelings for my soon-to-be-husband who I was destined to marry'? She can't tell them that.
Even the famous male pilot and mermaid who had a forbidden relationship wouldn't understand her. She tried her best to ignore her feelings, but every time she sees his brillant smile, with those cerulean eyes and that wonderful laugh she can't help herself but to fall deeper and deeper in love with him. If she hadn't known herself better, she probably would've just thought that it was just another one of her silly crushes. Like the one she had of Prince Haruka from Uranus when they first met and he flirted with her. Heck, he even kissed her for god's sake, on the lips once and probably another time on the cheek. When she had a crush on that prince, she used to have dreams where the memory of them kissing would just play in her head for hours and hours, until she woke up with a wet pillow. He should be glad that that wasn't her first kiss, and also that Seiya doesn't know about the kiss. Seiya and Haruka don't get along well enough since Seiya jokingly flirted with Michiru once, they don't need another reason to fight or bicker.
Usagi wasn't going to lie, though. Them fighting, is the funniest thing to watch, as long as you are not the reason why they are fighting or bickering. Once they bickered for an hour straight because Haruka made Usagi blush by complimenting her outfit in front of Seiya, and oh boy did Seiya like that.
Some of the people from Seiya's kingdom, the Ruby Crystal Kingdom; also Kinmokunians, doesn't like her because they don't think she deserves to be queen of their kingdom, as much as Seiya seems to like her, love her even, some of those people just won't change their minds.
Usagi fake her feelings some times, but it is pretty easy, because sometimes the only difference between Mamoru and Seiya, is Seiya's low ponytail. Aside from their completely different personality, Seiya and Mamoru could pass of as twins or brothers. Though she can tell that Seiya just wants the best for her and for her to be happy. Sometimes, that leads to the wrong direction for him but Usagi still appreiciate him by giving him a peck on his cheek.
As for her own feelings, she managed to hide them pretty well from others, she couldn't tell what Mamoru thinks of her yet, but she knows for sure, that she loves Mamoru. Perhaps she loves Seiya, but not as a betrothed or a soon-to-be wife should. She loves Seiya as one of her best friends growing up.
The two arrived at the dinner table and Kakyuu greeted them with a big smile. Usagi had always liked her. She had pretty everything. Her makeup was always on point, her orange, red, and black dress that she wears most of the time is very elegant, yet pretty. And an elegant and pretty dress is hard to find, for Usagi anyways. Her hair is the thing Usagi liked about her the most, it's signiture and matches her outfits perfectly. Everything about her speaks cute, pretty, and elegant. You can clearly tell the difference between a queen like her and a princess like Usagi.
The queen sat down on the side seat, which faces the other seat that is all the way across with more then 5 chairs on each side to separate them. Seiya and Usagi sat across from each other, it's how Usagi usually prefers it. The servants served the appetizers with red wine for Queen Kakyuu, and soda for the two twelve years olds. They ate in silence for a bit before Kakyuu put her fork down and cleared her throat.
"Seiya-kun, Usagi-chan, I want you to know that your marriage will happen the day Seiya-kun is crowned King. So Usagi-chan will have about a month to be queen by herself. Seiya-kun, I know that the whole betrothal was your parents' and Usagi-chan's parents' idea and now that they had passed the throne to me after their deaths. If you want to, only if you want to, I give you premission to cancel the betrothal." Kakyuu said calmly. Usagi almost choked on her calamari and her heart skipped a beat. Does she know..? Usagi thought to herself. Usagi stared into Queen Kakyuu's eyes with wonder, but she could not find any answers to her questions.

This was actually the first chapter to a story named DFE aka Destined Fairytale Ending that I started, but didn’t continue. If people are interested in it, I could restart it again. But yeah, hope you enjoyed these two!

Quantum Minako
Came across this in some old files. It’s a short drabble fic I’d written years ago and it shows., but what the hell, why not. I’m in a mood.
Minako Aino sat up in bed and looked out the window at the newly risen sun as its light reflected off the facets of the utopia that was Crystal Tokyo. It was over, she realized. The prophecies and their foretellings of the future had run out. There was no way to tell what would happen from now on.
"Gad, I'm bored," she said. ******* One week later... Doctor Conrad Howard raised an eyebrow as the stack of data crystals thudded onto the desk. Conrad was a tall, skinny young man with brown hair tied back in a ponytail and brown eyes. His lips were turned slightly upwards at some joke that only he seemed to know. He was a genius at creating new technologies out of seemingly irrelevant objects and energy sources. Technically, he worked for Ami, but Conrad was fiercely independent and Ami had long ago given up trying to actually direct him and had settled for trying to make sure he didn't blow up the palace. His lab was a hodgepodge of crystal devices and nineteenth through early twenty-first century technology. Parts and assembly equipment were scattered in a seemingly unorganized mess. On top of a computer tower an iguana perched. It's name was Iggy, which Conrad claimed was short for Einstein.
Conrad and Minako had a relationship that baffled the other senshi. It was more than friendship, but not romantic and as near as they could tell, never had been. Their conversations/arguments were often about things that apparently had happened in their mutual past while Minako was in England, and that they refused to explain to the others. The other senshi never mentioned it, but it bugged them that there was a part of Minako's past that they knew nothing about.
"Let us see here," Conrad mused, picking a crystal at random from the stack and reading the label. "Ranma, Tenchi, Utena, Ruroni Kenshin and...F Three?" Blushing, Minako grabbed the crystal from his hand. "A gift? I'm flattered, Mina-chan."
"It's not a gift," she replied. "I want to enter these."
"Enter?" He stared at the stack for a moment and then looked back at her. "No. No way in hell am I going to be responsible for another Cathedral."
"That was totally different!" Minako shouted. "The bear catching fire and the totaling of the Millennium Dome was a completely separate incident."
"If that's true, why did the bobbies keep coming by my flat to ask questions about it? Do you have any idea how long how I had to listen to my dad give me hell?"
"Bother the cops!" Minako slammed her hand down onto the table surface. "Now will you help me get into these?"
"Why do you want to get into them?"
"Because I'm bored. Almost all of these ended badly or ambiguously. Somebody should do something about it so that everything is fixed and all the wrongdoers have been punished."
"That's a novel reason to violate the fabric of space-time," he observed in a sardonic tone. "Why don't you go ask Ami to help you?"
"Ididshesaidno," Minako muttered.
"I see..." Conrad picked up a handful of data crystals and stared at them. "I'll think about it."
Three days passed and Minako returned to the lab to find Conrad hunched over a lab table, soldering a device about the size of a calculator together. Next to him was a large cylinder upon which was mounted a vertical drum. Set into slots were her data crystals.
"Is that..."
"Yep." He closed the device up and turned it over. The cover opened like a book, revealing a few keys, a small, two inch screen and a rectangular button. He pointed at the keys. "This one determines your location, this one allows you to call home, and the big one will get you out, or if you're here, send you in. In theory. It might also send you to another world. There's no way to tell."
"Great!" Minako said and transformed into Venus before mashing the button with her thumb. A glow surrounded her, the drum spun, Venus vanished, and then the drum collapsed into slag, scattering the thousands of crystals all over the floor. Conrad raised an eyebrow at that. He had cobbled it together from spare parts taken from broken equipment and hadn't bothered to test them. It was only for show, after all. But still...it was amazing what a teleporter, some crystals and a sense of humor would get you.
He chuckled to himself. Tearing a hole in the fabric of space time to travel to other dimensions/universes was only theoretically possible. Hell, even Crystal Tokyo technology could only warp space-time, allowing time travel or teleportation. But that was about it.
After a few seconds passed, Conrad picked a com off the desk and dialed Venus' private com code. "So, Venus, how do you like sitting in the cafeteria's sushi bar?" No response. "Venus? Minako?" No response. "Computer; Locate Sailor Venus."
"Working...Sailor Venus not found."
"System Wide Search."
"Working." Several minutes passed before the computer spoke. "Sailor Venus not found."
"Expand search. Widest parameters. Authorization is Howard Alpha One Cee." Minako had fought with Makoto like mad to get him that clearance, which was just a step below the Senshi themselves and two steps below the Royal Family. "Poke your nose into the Queen's private chambers if you have to."
"Working." "Almost thirty minutes passed before it delivered it's verdict. "Sailor Venus is not within scanning range."
Conrad stared at the spot where Venus had been, vaguely remembering, during a late night work session, of fashioning a crystal matrix and installing it into the transport device.
Was it possible? Could Venus have...could he have... "You have got to be freakin kidding me..." He flipped the switch on the com. It was after midnight, but there was no help for it. "This is Doctor Howard. All Senshi come to lab F Nine. There's...a problem."
******* Neo-Queen Serenity and her husband, King Endymiyon, were the last to arrive. Unlike the others, who were still rubbing sleep from their eyes, the royal couple was awake and one look at Endymiyon's face told Conrad why.
"Where's Minako?" the queen asked, looking around.
"That's why I called the Senshi together, My Queen. I wouldn't have interrupted your sleep, or," here he threw a look at Endymiyon that spoke volumes, causing the king to glower, "whatever else you might have been doing otherwise. To make a long story short, Venus has gone missing."
"Missing?" Makoto repeated. The others were instantly awake.
"How?" Haruka demanded.
Conrad explained Mina's request and his intention to foil it by dropping her into the sushi bar. "I usually work at night and I guess my mind was wandering. Happens sometimes," he finished. "Anyways, we have to find her."
Rei leaned over to Ami. "Ami, is it possible to do what he said?" she whispered. "Breach the...whatever fabric?"
"Only in theory," Ami whispered back. "I couldn't tell you how he might have managed it though." She gave her friend a helpless shrug. "I'm a doctor, not a quantum physicist."
"What do you mean, you don't know where she is? I thought you knew everything," Haruka sneered.
"I told you. I created what was supposed to be a teleporter matrix. Maybe I misplaced a decimal point on the fifth line or something while I was thinking about something else. Genius works like that. The point is, I never installed any way to track her and the transporter has no guidance circuits." He scooped up a handful of data crystals. "Every work of fiction from every part of the world going back twenty-five hundred years in on these crystals. Every anime, TV show, movie, comic, manga, video game, short story and book. Even though some of them offer only a glimpse, each one is a world, a full fledged universe unto itself. There's no way to tell where...hell, when she is. I'm sorry, but I think she's gone."
"You little shit," Haruka snarled, starting forward, hands outstretched. She and Conrad had gotten along like Usagi and Rei had at first, but unlike them, whose rivalry had become friendship, neither one showed any signs of warming up to the other. In fact, Haruka was moving towards him more out of a desire to remove him from the world then any real anger at Minako's disappearance.
"Isn't there anything you can do?" Neo-Queen Serenity asked, freezing Haruka in her tracks. "Surely there must be something you can try."
Conrad stared at her helplessly, and then his gaze dropped. Not to the revealing cut of her gown, but to the scepter topped with a multifaceted crystal that she held. He stared at it a moment, then looked up and straight at Hotaru. His eyes took on a peculiar look and they could almost see circuits being designed in the brown orbs. "Maybe...maybe there is a way." He pointed at the crystal. "I'll need that, Hotaru, her henshin wand, and a whole lotta luck."
"What the hell does Hotaru have to do with this?" Haruka asked as Conrad began to move around the lab, taking items from bins and stacking them in his arms.
"Because she and Venus are linked," Conrad replied.
"Linked?" Michiru asked.
"Each of the Inner Senshi's powers reflect a particular aspect of the Chinese Elemental Compass. Fire, Water, Air, Wood, Spirit, and Metal, if memory serves."
"So?" Haruka asked.
"So, Venus is also known as the Senshi of Love and Saturn is the Senshi of Death."
"And how the bloody fuck does that make them linked?"
"Let me put it another way." Conrad set the stack down on a table. "Suppose your death would mean the difference between Michiru living or dying. Would you sacrifice your life so that she could live?" He took up a data pad and with quick strokes of his fingers on the keys, made a number of notes.
"Of course," Haruka replied without hesitation.
"Why?"
"Because...I love her," Haruka said, understanding dawning.
"Exactly. And since you're all linked by the Ginzinhozu or whatever you call it, there might be a way to piggy back a line of communication on that link. We might not be able to get her home, but at least we can talk to her...assuming this doesn't kill one or both of them because of the mental shock."
"What?" If you think we're going to let Hotaru-"
"I want to do it, Papa," Hotaru said. Her eyes were frightened, but she stood tall and was making an attempt to be brave.
"But...Hotaru..."
"My purpose is to destroy," the frail girl said softly. "Almost all my powers are intended to hurt...or kill. If they can also be used to help, I'll do it. Even if it means my life." She faced Conrad. "What do I have to do?"
"For now? Go back to sleep. All of you. Building this mother is gonna take a while."
******* Conrad hadn't been kidding. It was almost a week before he sent for Hotaru. The lab had been completely altered. In the center of the room was a long bed mounted on a pedestal. A large crystal disk mounted on a long metal rod jutted out from the pedestal and then curved up and over the bed like a vulture. At one end, Neo-Queen Serenity's scepter and Setsuna's henshin wand were mounted on a headboard and thick cables ran from the pedestal to other pieces of equipment scattered across the room.
At his station, Conrad was dipping a wire into a cup of tea, then removing the wire, taking a sip, then placing the wire back into the cup.
As Hotaru, Michiru and Haruka entered the room, Ami approached them carrying a tray of tools and equipment. "Sit down, Hotaru-chan," she said softly. Once Hotaru sat, Ami pushed back her hair and swabbed the area behind Hotaru's left ear, her jaw, and then down her neck to her shoulder with gel and then picked up a large plate that had been shaped to fit the space she had just swabbed and pressed it to Hotaru's face. The plate began to move, forming it's shape to the area Ami had covered in Gel. Then she felt pinpricks up and down her face.
"There," Ami said softly, "that will allow us to monitor your vital signs. Follow me." The blue-haired woman led Hotaru over to the bed and indicated that she should sit. Conrad set the cup down with the wire still in it, and came over.
"Henshin wand." She handed hers to him and he set it into the headboard opposite Setsuna's. Then he picked up a glove and a crescent moon shaped piece of red crystal. The glove was fingerless and on the back was a circular piece of circuitry. "Left hand," he said, handing her the glove. She pulled it on as he fitted the crystal visor over her eyes. "This is going to be a bit like virtual reality," he told her. "See that circular patch on your glove? Once you're in, it should look to you like a circular patch of crystal. Double tapping it like this," he tapped the circular patch twice very fast, "will bring you back here, so to speak. Once you find Minako, tell her to activate the transporter. With any luck, it should return her to her point of origin, which will be here." He picked up a wire and plugged one end to the headboard and the other into the crystal visor as he described the transporter's controls. Another wire he plugged into the glove itself. "Remember, we won't know what will happen until you come back. We can't monitor what you see and hear. You ready?" Hotaru nodded. "Lie down and get comfortable." Turning he moved back beyond the arms and sat down at a control panel. "All right, focus your thoughts on Minako and don't think about anything else."
Hotaru closed her eyes and pictured Minako in her mind. How she looked, sounded and smelled.
"You have it?" she heard him ask.
"Yes."
"Okay, now hold onto that visual, you're going in on three. One, Two,"
"We love you, Hotaru!" Michiru shouted over the rising hum of machinery.
"Three!" For Hotaru, a loud roaring sound fill her ears and she felt herself fall into a cold void.
For the others, the crystal flared with white light and Hotaru went limp.
"She's gone into a state of REM sleep," Ami said from another station.
"Now what?" Makoto asked.
"We wait," Conrad said softly. "Once she comes out of it-"
"She better come out of it," Haruka growled.
"-we should know more," Conrad continued as though Haruka hadn't spoken.
"Wonder what she'll find," Makoto said.
*************** Opening her eyes, Hotaru found herself standing in a room full of people. She was dressed in her Senshi uniform and holding her glaive. Glancing down at her left hand, she saw that the glove with the crystal disc was on her hand over the glove of her uniform. She gazed around the room once more. All of the people were dressed in strange clothing, many repeating the same action over and over, or simply staring at the walls, ceiling or floors. And then she looked behind her. Sitting on the floor, staring at her in wide-eyed terror, was Venus.
"Hello, Venus-san," Hotaru said, bowing. "What is this place?" Venus opened her mouth to say something when one of the other people in the room walked through Hotaru as though she wasn't there.
AHHHHHHH!" Venus shrieked and then began grabbing whatever she could lay her hands on and throwing it at Hotaru. Within seconds, two burly men dressed as hospital orderlies ran in, grabbed Venus and hauled her out. Hotaru stood there for a moment before realizing that she wasn't being taken with them and hurried out, following Venus' shrieks.
******* Hotaru stared at sleeping, strapped-down form of Venus as she lay on the bed in the small room. By looking around and listening to the conversation of the men, and other conversations she had overheard as the men had dragged the shrieking Venus to this room, Hotaru had determined that they were in America, a place called L.A. The year was nineteen ninety-seven, and this was a mental institution. She had also determined that she was invisible, inaudible, and immaterial.
On the bed, Venus groaned and her eyes fluttered open. Hotaru held her finger to her lips for silence. "Venus, what..." she trailed off as voices were heard from the other side of the door. Moments later, the panel slid back and they could see several faces peering in.
"And as an interesting parallel to Ms Conner," said an authoritative voice, "we have this young lady, a partial amnesiac, who answers only to Venus. In this case, unlike Ms Conner's Paranoia Dementia, which leads her to believe in the arising of sentient robots which will wipe us all out,  Venus has Senile Dementia, or believes she is a super hero." There were a few chuckles. "She was picked up in downtown Los Angeles attempting to stop a mugging by attempting to catch him with a 'Venus Love Chain'. Some kind of energy chain. Naturally, it didn't work. She is strapped down as she suddenly began shrieking during her recreation period and then began throwing various objects. When the orderlies came in, she became violent, insisting that there was a young lady standing in front of her holding a weapon. She was taken back to her room, sedated, and strapped down for her own safety. Treatment so far has been mild sedation and sessions with a therapist. Now in the next room is a young man who believes he is a creature known as an 'Arby Fish'." The panel closed and the voices faded away.
Hotaru stared at the floor for a moment, absorbing what she had just heard.
"Who are you?" Venus asked softly.
"My name is Hotaru. I am a Sailor Senshi, like you." Venus stared at her.
"Ho...taru?"
"Yes, yes."
"What's a Senshi?"
"That is unimportant. I am here to get you out of here."
"Out of here?"
"Yes." Hotaru looked around. "Where is your transporter?"
"What's a transporter?"
"You had it with you. It opens like a book and had a screen and some buttons under the cover."
"Oh, you mean this?" Venus held it up for Hotaru to see. "I made it disappear before I went after those muggers. Wish I knew why I did. Go after the muggers I mean."
"Good. Open it up and press the big button. Or do you want to stay here?"
"No." With only one hand, Venus fumbled open the device. Looking up, she found that Hotaru had disappeared. She frowned. Odd girl, and even weirder that Venus felt that she should know her.
She pressed the button.
******* Hotaru opened her eyes to find herself seeing the world through red crystal. Her head hurt and even through the visor the lights from the crystals over the bed were almost blinding. Letting out a groan, she closed her eyes again. Moments later, she felt Michiru's arms encircle her and moments later, the import of what she had seen came crashing down on her and Hotaru began to cry.
"Hotaru? What's wrong?" Haruka asked.
"She doesn't remember, Papa. She doesn't know who she is!"
#############
Seeking to further the cause of Justice, Minako Anio, ripped a hole in the fabric of space-time with untested technology....
And vanished.
She awoke in another world, her Senshi powers limited, her memories in fragments, and driven by an strange desire to change each world for the better.
Her only guide on this journey is Hotaru, a young girl who claims to be a Senshi like herself, and manifests in the form of a vision that only Minako can see and hear.
And so, Minako travels from world to world, striving to put right all the wrongs and hoping that the next time she presses the button on the transporter...
That it will take her home...

The Senshi step in Poison Joke
Yeah, sometimes you get weird ideas by yourself in the middle of the night.  The Sailor Senshi step in Poison Joke.  No, I don’t know how an Equestrian plant got into Tokyo.  That’s not the point.  Let’s just do this.
Usagi: Usagi is very sensitive about her weight in the first season at least.  This is an easy one for the PJ to take advantage of.
Ami: I’ll admit, I’m having a hard time thinking of something for her.  Her greatest pride is her mind, and I don’t think PJ can actually do anything to that.  So going on a different track, she’s still not the greatest at social interactions that don’t have to do with studying, and she does at least cultivate an air of young maturity and lady-like qualities.  So, um... uncontrollable flatulence.  Yeah, I know, that one’s lame, but like I said, I was having trouble with her.
Rei: A scream of horror erupts from the Hino Shrine, for when Rei looked in the mirror that morning Usagi’s face looked back.
Makoto: While it might be tempting to give her the Applejack transformation of becoming a pipsqueak, I think that with the issues she’s already had with her height the PJ would do the opposite and make her even larger.  Like, Andre the Giant height.
Minako: Now at first I was going to say she couldn’t de-transform from Sailor Venus, but that seems a bit too cruel, and the kind of thing that would lead to an existential crisis.  So instead she just now looks like an Umino-like neeeeerd.
Chibi-Usa: Now she’d get the shrink treatment.
Setsuna: Like Chibi-Usa she becomes smaller.  Not because she’s annoyed about Pluto being declared a Dwarf Planet, no, it’s because she’s annoyed by people assuming that she’d be annoyed by the reclassification.  The prank seems mis-aimed in a cliche way which aggravates her, which in turn makes the prank right on target.
Haruka: Becomes so very, very pretty.  Lustrous hair, graceful figure, lady-like voice, soft eyes... nobody could ever mistake her for a handsome young man now.
Michiru: Mustache.  Yeah, I dunno why I can’t seem to come up with anything good for the water ladies.
Hotaru: I’d like to say she takes on Mistress 9′s appearance, but like with Minako that seems a little too cruel.  So how about instead she gets the same perma-shadowed face thing her dad had when he was possessed?
Mamoru: The others can’t tell what is wrong with him, but he’s certainly bugged about something, and thinks it should be obvious.  He points out his clothes to the others, but that doesn’t help them any.  Finally he flat out says he woke up color-blind that morning and couldn’t tell exactly what clothes he was putting on.  Nobody else could tell the difference with how he usually dresses.  And when he realizes that, the PJ’s prank will be complete.
