Ok I need to write this down somewhere else or I'll go insane but I finally have a direction I want for my Fallout/Saints Row crossover qwq

I have so many wips for this crossover so maybe somebody wants read this to understand the weird stuff I'll post soon? idk? maybe? 😅 uhh

Also I like writing things down so why not...

Since I can't draw a full comic or anything close I might actually write down everything more detailed at some point or even write a FF but the vague idea is like this:

I'm gonna connect the story directly to SRIV.

Yeah ...SRIV. Not my fave part of the series but definitely the easiest way to connect both universes 👉👈

The Saints wanna use the time machine to make the destruction of earth never happen but some programming of the machine got really wrong and they end up in the Commonwealth 2287.

(I actually have an idea how it happened but too much to write for now)

Boss will wake up in Vault 111 and find Nate as the only Survivor but all of the other Saints seem to have disappeared.

Since Nate wants search for his son, Boss will 'join' him occasionally to search for his friends.

The story will practically be an altered FO4s story, with Boss travelling with Nate and during their journey Boss will find his friends that ended up in the different factions.

For example Gat got picked up by the Brotherhood of Steel. They liked his skills and gave him an opportunity to join. So Gat joined them to have better access to weapons and armour to also search for the other Saints.

Which fractions I'll gave to which Saint is something I'm still figuring out but I want to bring back some 'forgotten' Saints from earlier games since the travelling with the time-machine actually managed to bring some Saints back.

And I'm kinda happy about this idea, bcs that way I am able to give every Saint a own small story for this AU 👉👈

I honestly have also already an idea for an ending of the story as well and that will happen after FO4 story and return them all to the SR verse... ugh I can't wait to talk about it at some point.

Also random side infos but since Boss and Nate are the mains of my AU I think alot about their relationship and they will definitely have some struggles getting along xD

Nate is canonly described with the patience of a Saint while Boss is definitely the other way around ...

...they end up arguing ... alot ... and some bad decisions will happen.

But then again I can see them getting along after all ... they probably happen to have deep talk when they can't sleep. Both have been through alot of shit and I just can see them talking about that and their past.

...

Also can't get rid of the idea of Boss calling Nate 'Mr. Dad' as some kind of mocking.

(I always used british Boss and in SRTT/IV he uses nicknames all the time... so yeah... felt right adding some fun stuff here and there too.)

hoorayy (author of deviltown)— not a techno or emduo main, but consistently writes pitch-perfect techno in ensemble stuff.

third_crow: also writes ensemble stuff, did an excellent boreal-focused fantasy fic and is now writing a SBI foster au that’s actually nuanced and good? Who knew.

Odaigahara: I see you’ve already mentioned her. Everything she writes is so good. AHHHH.

EmJay_Panziku: the horror fic. The space fic. Somehow it’s not Tommy-centric for once. I am throwing my credit card at the screen. MORE PLZ.

AdrianaintheSnow: if you are okay with Tommy-centric SBI, this is actually good and fun character writing for everyone in that quartet, interesting worldbuilding, soft and cute moments.

Beans_McGee: I think they’ve gone over to hermitcraft now, but they have an unfinished series named Angel teeth that is just some of the best actually funny techno writing around.

Spice_ghouls: haven’t updated in a while so I don’t know if they left the fandom, but some very good emduo.

Inallthingsgoodorbad: okay so yes their most recent work is superhero AU, but it’s a really GOOD one, actually.

Dreamdx (thereisdefinitelyawordforthat): everything they write I must put immediately into my eyeballs. I am throwing my credit card at the screen again.

Fensandmarshes: !!!!! He is so good at every character but his technoooooooo (okay yes I am an awkward autistic but beyond that). Worldbuilding! Voice! Autistic characters!

H_mellohi: they’re more focused on angelduo, but when they write techno or emduo I just relax knowing they are in safe hands.

So for this one the author is anon, but if you search up I Asked For A Monster And You Gave Me A Fairytale, the author has two fics, (both Tommy centric but y’know, you gotta muscle past that I guess in this fandom), one where Tommy goes into the woods to die and gets adopted by a house of monsters, one where Tommy’s a vegan neceomancer used by a cult to bring The Blood God back. They are both very stressed.

Sigh so much of this fandom is Tommy-centric I’m still scrolling—

EmJay_Panziku i have read just the space fic (which i absolutely adore) but now that i have their account open i see they have another fic noted, in the tags, as being similar to Sweet Home.. I fucking LOVED that comic!! i followed it for years!! i will be back for this fic For Certain. (i assume this is "the horror fic" you mentuoned)

AdrianaintheSnow ill be honest i just. dont read tommy centric sbi i cant. not my thing. i get bored if techno isnt there and that happens much faster if its tommy instead. hey im recently getting back into dp and im wondering if you have any fic recs? ive really on read switch so far lmao

sure! I should give you fair warning in case you weren’t aware: the phandom leans heavily into angst, especially the older works on ffn that we’re really popular back in the day. if that’s what you’re looking for, i might suggest some older classics like phantom of truth by haiju or pits by cordria, or something newer like everything was white by @lexosaurus but fair warning, these are not for the faint of heart. as much as i love lexx and think her writing is amazing, i generally can’t read her fic all at once because it is very very angsty and i tend to need a breather in between my angst. it’s not a knock on the writing, but just a notice that when i say heavy angst, i mean heavy

tbh, there’s a LOT of angsty dp fic, and i’ve seen a couple of other rec lists floating around that focus more on angst so i’ll try to reblog those so you can see them too, and instead i’m going to focus on less angsty (or at least less bad/not great/bittersweet end) fics

@realghostboy is a fic by @dotsz which hasn’t been updated in a while but is still super fun and not super plotted so its not like you’re left on a huge cliffhanger. it’s a fun social media fic, mostly twitter iirc

Social Networking by ChaosDragon (PlotWitch) on ao3 is also a personal fave featuring the popular kids finding out danny’s secret and then working to protect him

omnis immunde spiritus is a fun fic by @captainkirkk (aloneintherain on ao3) about danny being a spooky boi (with my boy KWAN THERE at least a little so i get excited)

Easy Target by WriterGurl128 on ao3 is a good one about dash finding out danny’s secret and realizing that bullying is wrong and helping him out

The Trouble With Ghosts by @ladylynse (Lynse on ao3) is another fun one about Mr. Lancer learning Danny’s secret and trying to be a Responsible Adult (that i haven’t read in a while and really need to catch up on....) and tbh @ladylynse has a lot of fun aus and reveal fics that are worth checking out if you go to her profile

the Danny The ViewTuber series by ZombieMerlin on ao3, where Danny just like. does parkour on “ViewTube” and also accidentally reveals his secret to the whole school? its a fun ride man

Dancing Around The Truth by @dannyphandump the incomparable tali, this fic is so fucking cute???? excellent paulina characterization, fun and cute valerie/danny, reveal and just very very sweet ok i love this fic

In which Jonathan Sims is a Siren, and he fails to notice any new abilities granted to him by the position of Archivist. Or really anything about the Entities at all.

Takes place in season 1 featuring Jonah Magnus’s slow decent into madness

(The new mythology interwoven with tma's worldbuilding is so freaking good and I love how all the characters change and develop because of these changes. Also, f you Elias)

Along Came a Spider by Dribbledscribbles

Sasha James is the Archivist, as expected. Martin Blackwood is menaced by Jane Prentiss, as expected. Elias Bouchard weaves his web, as expected.

All goes as it should.

(Web!Jon in this makes me want to weep, it's so freaking good. A pretty long, very excellent oneshot on what could've happened if Jon got taken by the web when he was a kid. And Sasha as the Archivist is ALWAYS so cool, we love her in this house.)

“There’s a spider in this book.” the kid says solemnly, raising his textbook sized parcel. “It ate Evan Pritchard.” a bloody fucking Leitner. Of course an eight year old would find a murder spider book. “This seemed like the best place to bring it.”

(I never thought about what the Original Elias could've been like AND NOW I CAN'T STOP THINKING ABOUT IT BECAUSE OF THIS FIC. I LOVE HIM, HE'S COMPLEX AND HE CARES AND JON CARES AND THEY BOTH CARE ABOUT EACH OTHER. THIS IS THE CONTENT I WANT, OMG. Also, Jon being even smaller than usual is adorable, so cute. No wonder Elias wants to hug him, a LOT.)

(One of my all time fave fics in this fandom, no questions asked. I have reread this three times and am open to doing it again, god. Vast!Jon, such a concept. It's written so beautifully and the relationships Jon develops, so good. ugh. My heart. Please please read.)

“Come in, Martin,” he says, not looking up from his notes.

“Hi, Jon,” he says, and Jon stops writing at the sound of his voice. “We’re out of the green tea, but we’ve got lemon?”

Jon looks at him. Martin smiles at him in his usual tentative way as he sets the mug of tea down on Jon’s desk. Heat spikes so sharply in his gut that he twitches with it.

“Thank you, Martin,” he says, mouth dry, and he stands up.

“Oh,” he says, sounding almost surprised. He smiles again. “No-- no problem-- um, what are you--”

Jon takes Martin by the shoulders, leans up on the tips of his toes, and kisses him.

(You have no idea how much I howled through this fic, my god. *buries face in hands* The number of times I wanted to cry from sheer hilarity and horror reading this good lord.)

Things Could Always Be Worse by theOestofOCs

Sometimes, the most horrifying thing of all is what might have been.

Somewhere, Jon could swear he heard a crowd laughing.

Or: in which Jonathan Sims is forced to swap places with his alternate self—a tall, chivalrous hero extraordinaire, who knows neither fear nor nuance—and is sent to the aggressively straight alternate universe the Magnus Archives was never meant to be.

“Whatever place this is,” Jon announced, “I just want to be sure it knows I hate it.”

(I will say this once, THIS IS THE MOST CURSED THING IVE EVER READ EVER. Like holy hell. I can't believe this thing exists. please read it oh please please please)

[Supernatural]

heard from your mother (she don't recognize you) by Schmuzz

Ship: Dean/Cas, Jessica/Sam

A man named Cas wakes up in 2003 with no memories, but he's able to piece together a few things:

1. Supernatural creatures exist, and most of them will hurt innocent civilians if he doesn't stop them; 2. He has abilities that no human hunter should have, but he knows enough about human hunters to keep that to himself, and finally; 3. He keeps running into another hunter named Dean Winchester, who seems to be about as lonely as he is if he's willing to put up with those former facts long enough to help Cas unravel the mystery of who (or what) he really is.

For his part, Dean's still (not) dealing with Sam's departure to Stanford, and figures distracting himself with a bit of mystery and intrigue is as harmless as it gets, right? Right.

(THE fic I'm most into right now, been following this from the very start and it's AMAZING. Cas has agency and is making friends and S1 Dean is growing out of John's influence and is becoming a Person and the both of them first being friends then more. The slow burn as their relationship develops, SO GOOD. SO SO DAMN GOOD. *screams* Seriously one of the best spn fics I've read in a long, long time.)

anamnesis by cenotaphy

Ships: Castiel/Dean, Sam/Eileen

Chuck is depowered, Jack is the new god, and the world is free. Dean and Sam get into the Impala and chase down the miles on an endless highway, and their story is finally, finally their own to follow. At least, that's what Dean tells himself. But the diners and motels and painted interstate lines are blurring together and the smallest details keep catching at his brain like tiny fishhooks and he can't quite shake the feeling that not everything is exactly as it should be.

* Fix-it/alternate series finale. Canon-compliant through the end of 15.19.

(THIS IS THE FIC THAT GOT ME THROUGH THE FINALE OKAY. WHY COULDN'T THIS HAVE BEEN CANON. It's Disturbing and honestly plot-wise this makes more sense. Why couldn't we have had this. *screams*)

[Avatar: The Last Airbender]

where the stars do not take sides by WitchofEndor

Ship: Sokka/Zuko

When Azula is nine, she becomes an only child. She hears the Fire Lord call for Zuko's life, and in the morning, her mother and brother are gone. Azula may be young, but she isn't naive. She knows what happened to them.

Which makes it all the more surprising when Azula tracks the Avatar down and fights his group of peasant friends, only to find herself staring into an eerily familiar face.

(The fact one of the tags in this fic is, "Sibling Dynamic: Fucked Up But Wholesome" should give you an idea what this fic is like. Chaotic as HELL and I just love Azula here, she loves Zuko so much in her messed up way and Zuko loves her back in the exact same way lol. It's batshit and I am Here For This.)

[Naruto]

Eclipse by AislingRoisin (JayBird345) for HybrisAnaideia

Ship: Nara Shikaku/OFC

"In life, it's easier to remain stagnant and wallow in your troubles. But life isn't merely about continued existence, nor is it meant to be gone through alone."

(This is a fic that's slept on and I NEED people to read this. A self-insert fic that I find really interesting in its approach and the worldbuilding for the post-third war shinobi world is fantastic. I feel like there's a certain pattern with self-insert fics, not that is a detriment in any way to how much I enjoy them, so this fic feels fresh to me in a way I haven't read in a while. I am waiting eagerly for this to get updated! Please read!)

When push comes to shove, Hiwa Inuzuka doesn't go down easy. Reborn into a new, dangerous world? She puts her past life as a spy to work. Thrown into a war? Hiwa does her duty, for Konoha. And when she's forced into an arranged marriage? All there is to do is beat them to the punch and get married first. Thankfully, Genma Shiranui is willing to lend a hand. Literally. SI/OC

(Listen, LISTEN, it's about the slow burn, the longing, the communication (it both has and hasn't and isn't THAT great??), the messy way you fit three very different people together, it's so freaking good! Also, Kakashi is so Chaotic here this is my fave characterization of him, you can't change my mind. And Genma is a Good Boi who is Doing His Best, along with the Self-insert character who I LOVE SO MUCH, SHE'S FANTASTIC FNEIWOPAF. Sped past this fic in the speed of light, I could not stop reading!)(Honestly, read all of the author's fics, they're all really REALLY good!)

Building a Castle by WhisperingDarkness

Without needing anyone to tell her, Sakura knew that talking to someone no-one else could see or hear would make her weird. It would draw the bad kind of attention to her, something people could make fun of her for.

She didn’t like being weird, but she did like the voice. Her inner voice was helpful and it was a part of her that had always been there. The idea of it not being there would have been so much weirder than anything else.

It was during her first year at the Academy that Sakura realised the voice was not in her head at all, but that it came from a cloudy shape floating next to her.

(Basically a short-ish retelling of Hikaru no Go. Only with more Shogi and Nara and Ninja's)

(Sakura can see ghosts (I'm noticing this is a popular trope for her) and it's really cute haha! Her relationship with Tobirama is sweet and I just enjoyed reading this so much.)

[The Magicians]

So Long (And Thanks For All The Books) by IncompleteSentanc (Erava)

Ships: Quentin/Eliot, James/Julia, Quentin/Margo/Eliot

When Quentin is told Julia wasn't admitted to Brakebills, he realizes he has a drastic decision in front of him. If he tells Julia about magic, he'll have his mind wiped as well as hers. But he can't just leave her behind, either. He can't lose his best friend, and he can't let her life a life with her magical potential stolen away from her.

So he makes a third choice.

(Really, and I mean REALLY well-done canon divergent fic, this is the Quentin & Julia friendship fic I have been looking for forever. It explores so much of what could've happened and I just love Quentin here, I really really do. Characterization done so right. I also recommend the author's other works too. Been a follower of them for a long time, they're great.)

[Game of Thrones]

The Road to Victory by writing_as_tracey

Too late in preparing for the Night King and the Long Night, the last stand at Winterfell is close to falling. Bran takes desperate measures to ensure victory, and Jon, Sansa, and Arya pay the price for it in a time unfamiliar to them, on the cusp of another war. [GoT, time-travel fix it]

(I swear, this fic made me laugh so many times, all the Stark are BAMF and fantastic, and Rhaegar gets Wrecked lol. It's crack btw, and the plot goes in directions you'll never guess and it's amazing hahaha!)

[Haikyuu!!] (I am very very late to the fandom but here I am)

Ballare (To Dance) by MidnightSparks

Ship: Iwaizumi Hajime/Kageyama Tobio/Oikawa Tooru, and platonic Kageyama & Kentarou (really love their friendship)

Kageyama’s first love is volleyball. His second, however, is ballet.

In one world, Kageyama Tobio is left behind by his parents. In this world, the existence of soulbonds keeps Kageyama’s parents in Miyagi and leaves Kageyama in the care of his grandma and grandpa.

(In which soulmates exist and that changes everything and nothing at the same time.)

It’s been two years since then, and Tobio thought they had an understanding. A silent, never spoken about understanding that this thing between them is nothing, and they’re going to pretend it doesn’t exist.

Of course, it’s just like Oikawa to change the game and leave Tobio wondering what comes next.

(I am WEAK for soulmate fics between these two, I don't even really like soulmate fics half the times what is WRONG WITH ME-)(Please suffer with me, I'm begging you. Its a good fic, thumbs up.)

In which Jonathan Sims is not from the UK but instead, if you took his origins and turned them sideways twice then flipped them over, he technically would be from the US, the town of Night Vale specifically. Elias can’t do shit about it and gets a headache and slowly creeping madness instead.

(Look, I know probably everyone has read this because if they haven't, what have you been DOING with your lives??? Jon interning at Night Vale is Incredible, nothing phases this man, it's Delightful. I laughed so many times reading this, I'm not even kidding right now. Read or perish.)

And so, Death becomes Percival's guardian angel, and Percival does not spit out his cereal.

(Look, I don't know how I stumbled back into the FBAWTFT fandom either, it just happened and I'm grateful for that. Otherwise, I wouldn't have found this amazing fic. Their relationship is slow and strange and I just love how Percival is characterized here. Also, one of the tag promises that it deviates from canon so I am really, really excited for that! XD)

list of books i want to read again in 2022

I just came back from my online shop of choice and already added 8 new books to my shopping cart, all the while looking at a backlog of easily 30 unread books that have been sitting on my shelves for years. (surely this doesnt sound much to the hardcore reader, but i am just a simple and average media enjoyer). So what else is my ADD-riddled brain supposed to want to do but ignore all the new and new-ish books that might give me the opportunity to discover new stories and instead read some of my faves and other long-forgotten books again? Here‘s a list of what I am dying to revisit this year :)

The Vampire Diaries! Ive already binged through the first one. Time for the other 6! (The newer ones don‘t exist to me.)

The Fever series. I don‘t remember anything about that except for a book with an irish title that I always felt awkward about because I couldn‘t pronounce it. (Pretty sure I could, now)

Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe! Need to revisit this one before reading the sequel!! well! i didnt quite expect this to break my heart That painfully

Frankenstein. This one i‘d have to buy first because I lost my copy many years ago and never bothered again.

The Picture of Dorian Gray. A classic. I know I loved every page of it and I‘d love to revisit that feeling, especially now that I‘ve learned more about Wilde‘s life.

The Hound of d‘Urberville. Deliciously queer-coded villain action neatly packed up in short stories. My life has been so bleak since I finished it.

The Secret History. I started a reread last year and then got swept up in life just as I realized just how much of a Cali Boy™️ Richard actually is. Hilarious. I need to get back to that.

A Clockwork Orange. Just to touch up on the everything. I saw a comment about it today and was shocked to realize that I completely forgot about the sick ass lingo they had going on.

Thirteen Storeys. I hate Jonny Sims‘ endings but the stories itself are glorious and I need to experience them again.

If We Were Villains. Man I just love campus novels and this was the best one. Really miss those guys.

Combining this with my actual 2022 Suggested Reading AND the backlog of books I have AND the books I really really really want to buy… Man I don‘t think twelve months will be enough

Oooh, let's see. And let me try to cover a few fandoms at once as I hit these, because I have been obsessing over clone wars lately, but have posted almost nothing on here to entice my hapless followers into the fandom.

Ships that make you sad: 💔

Now, this is one where I have an essay in me that I haven't written yet, but I have a lot of thoughts about Mei Nianqing and Bai Wuxiang. Like, Bai Wuxiang in general makes me deeply sad, but that dynamic is just STUFFED with melancholy, and a lot of real love and affection. I really really really want more fic about that mountain cabin and what Mei Nianqing does besides play ghost mahjongg

Ohhhh, and it took me a moment to remember this because I haven't read svsss in a while and there's no new donghua season to make me think about it, but QIJIU. ABSOLUTELY QIJIU. Everything in here is so fucking tragic, I can't even stand it. Shen Jiu is tragic. Then it just. Keeps. Getting. Worse. I saw art of these two from the epilogue this morning, and it was gorgeous, and I still haven't recovered. Like if you cry every time.

And clone wars.... Clone wars. Virtually any ship in here, jesus christ. It's so crushing. I'm probably going to watch canon eventually, but my fandom experience has been getting emotionally attached to a character via fic, looking them up on the wiki, and reading about their tragic death. I think right now... shout-out to jesse and kix, because jesse's death has been MURDERING me for the last few days. And codywan is very sad, but I've had quinlan vos/obi-wan kenobi on the brain, and wartime trauma piled on top of order 66 and them both being jedi and possibly both surviving and having no idea the other one is out there somewhere. Just fuck me up! Oh god, and then I got attached to waxer and boil, and only THEN found out what happened on umbara. This fandom has been really, really, really stressful for me, you know? ;u;

Ship that needs more love: 💖

Oh boy, I'm having more trouble with this one than I expected. I think all my faves deserve more love, but some of them are well-supplied already, and I've been so bad at reading I don't have a good picture of the lie of the land, haha

Mu Qing/Xie Lian, that's the first one that comes to mind. Mu Qing and Bai Wuxiang have been on my mind all day. CHENGNING. I feel like the potential here is hilarious, but also like I'm going to be really picky about how it's done, so I'm afraid to look anything up. But I still want there to be more. Suddenly my mind has emptied of all things I've read recently. Han Solo/Luke Skywalker. I just rewatched episode iv and that dynamic was TASTY, and I know the studio squashed the gay shippers into silence and people have been recovering momentum since then, but I really WISH it was a juggernaut like some of the other star wars ships.

Oh, and you know what? I cannot justify myself at all, and will not even try. But. Keeli/Neyo. Yes, these are two clone wars characters who barely even appear in the series. I know. I know. I can't even begin explaining. There might be a fic from me soon anyways. Leave me olone. I have passionate feelings about this 😂

I felt like suna was personally rejecting me and i hated it- i swear the moment he said prove it I almost screamed HOW? My brain had to take a moment to just slap me and say: 'kya you reading this is not happening chill-' cause i was already sobbing uncontrollably... I even whimpered the dont leave me 😬 my sadass went to bed feeling so sad thanks to suna... Man i wanted so much to hug him and i swear i would give him as much love as he gave y/n cause well i kin suna alot in this series cause im like that im a giver i treat others the way i would like to be treated (reason why ive been down lately ✌️) and i cant blame suna for finally setting boundaries- his call tho 'do i not stand a chance with you anymore y/n? Are you really not capable of falling in love with me?".... Oh suna... We are in love with you.. We always were we're just fucking stupid 😩

Now for the love letter part (im so sorry for this being so long ✌️)

You said that if we asked suna he woukd say that he genuinely loved mari okay... Ill go ahead and say yes he liked mari he even learned how to love her and he genuinely cared for her BUT and heres where my personal view comes in so maybe ill be biased here still for me that was just a he loves her as in he cares you also love your friends and care for them but he didnt love her- and by this I mean- he could never be fully committed for her. Yes he loved her and he felt happy with her but like track 7 proved everything he would do in the back of his mind was y/n he deeply wished Mari was her and for that he just loved Mari cause he learned how to care about her- but he never forgot who he trully was in love it. Also the happiness he experienced with Mari was pretty much the one I experienced the bliss of having someone there and that bliss also made suna turn a blind eye to all the red flags from Mari cause to him all the jealousy meant she cared and thats toxic but suna was so desperate for some sort of 'she cares' that even all the possessiveness was bliss for him... And that makes my heart clench for suna...

'suna had to put an effort for the relationship' and saddly i feel like mari didnt... Mari didnt care mari was there because she was a fangirl of suna and got lucky, the way she just discarded him so effortlessly that proved-screamed how much she loved him- she didnt. She was just possessive over him she liked the whole 'hes mine' dynamic and suna was the perfect boyfriend cause he was giving her the world... What he wanted someone to do for him.

Also yeah suna and y/n might have been spurred from them being fuck buddies but well love doesnt really have an agenda- they just clicked, understood each other and had chemistry yeah they had tons and tons of sex but feelings started not because of sex but thanks to their deep connection... Also that dsncing scene in track 7 that alone spoke for their whole relationship- that alone is enough to defend their feelings for each other- yes it might jave started just as fuck buddies but ended up in them loving each other deeply and that is enough love after all doesnt need a perfect start. It can start out of the most stupid ways.

You said life with excitement and fun wouldn't be permanent or real.. Honestly i think it could be.. Cause i mean when you love someone that deeply your life always feels exciting even with the littlest things and that the purest kind of love. Even just going for a walk at the beach would be fun for them or even staying up watching movies i believe suna and y/n would always find a way to make their lofe exciting without much effort.

Also it kinda makes me. Sad when i see some anon saying that y/n and suna relationship are toxic? It makes me. Confused maybe because I was in such extremely toxic one (girl i sweat if you search for toxic relationship my ex's face will be there as an example 🙄) that Mari to me screams toxic! Possessive, manipulative, jealous and a few more if I think closely about it while with y/n and suna they are just two idiots that are hurting each other cause they're just that: idiots one that is afraid to get hurt and the other that keeps hoping- dont get me wrong what they're doing is not healthy but i dont find it toxic honestly

YOOOOO I AGREE WITH THAT. he cares for mari as a person but not 100% as a lover. but ofc he’s still thankful for how happy she made him because she was there at his worst. and that’s true, deep down suna still wishes that it was YN who’s right beside him. he will always ALWAYS want her back. he learned how to love mari in a way that was more out of mutual care but not in the way he loves YN. no that’s reserved only for YN – she will remain no 1 in his heart. AND YESSSSS the reason why suna overlooked the red flags was bcos to him, its something that was supposed to be “normal” like no perfect partner existed. he thought mari’s attitude of pushing YN away was normal, and its normal to want your partner’s best friend keep some distance but not to the point of mari’s place where she literally wants the two of them to cut each other out of their lives.

and aww I’m so happy that you realized how I wanted to portray suna and yn’s relationship. they’re….like the definition of youth in its freest form. they were fucking around and doing stupid things, but they had a connection. they had something deeper than just sexual intimacy. even if they never dated or even if YN never proposed the idea of it, they would’ve actually been still great friends. and oooh I actually don’t remember saying life with excitement and fun wouldn’t be real HAHAHAHA so I can’t comment further on that. but I think when I ‘said’ those I probably meant that it’s not always going to be all rainbows and unicorns in a relationship. there’s no such thing as a relationship that’s always happy and sweet 24/7, but ofc it can be sweet and it can be pure even with the little things <33 they just need to work on it.

hmmm tbhhhh… suna and yn are toxic in a way that they refuse to let each other go when they clearly can’t meet halfway. toxic doesn’t have to be limited in just being mari-like in which they are possessive or manipulative, because then if we’d drive deeper into yn’s personality, then she’d be stringing suna all along and that’s unfair of her. she knows suna wants more and yet she remained being friends with him, which totally isn’t a bad thing, but it’s because she keeps flirting with him and is so romantically comfortable with him that she doesn’t realize it’s hurting suna because he’ll give double meanings to that. their relationship is ‘toxic’ because they’re not entirely good for each other, they’re not that ready to be with one another yet and neither is the world letting them be in peace, so forcing their relationship to a point they’re hurting another is the toxic part.

What inspires you to write? ooh, music has been a great help for sure!! whenever i don’t feel like writing something, i always listen to music and the idea would flow like a river. classic poems helps, too. :)

What genres/AUs do you enjoy writing the most? supernatural!au’s, fantasy!au, medieval!au. i feel like it’s easier to write something out of pure fantasy. i have a hard time writing modern!au’s since i lack the humor and the knowledge for modern slangs.

What do you hope your readers take away from your work? ooh, i always always always am careful with the way that i craft all my works. i try to feel what my characters feel to give them a certain validation. i put my shoes on the scenarios i have in mind even though i haven’t yet experienced everything ive written. and i do love writing strong female characters, whether it’s oc’s or female readers. that’s my main priority whenever i write. and i want them to know that girls could do just as much everything boys could. women are powerful.

What do you do when you hit a rough spot creatively? i read a lot to get back on my foot. i also try to re-read my past works so i’d be inspired to better my writing on my current draft.

What is your favorite work and why? Your most successful? my favorite work is the one i’m still writing rn, which is entitled 505. it’s a hendery fic in which he is a bandit and the female reader is a sacristan. it’s my fave since i relate myself so much to the female reader. :) my most successful one is the childhood best friends!au taeyong x female reader. it’s about to reach 600+ notes i guess? and im so grateful of all the feedbacks i got from it.

Who is your favorite person to write about? it’s jaehyun and hendery :)

Do you think there’s a difference between writing fanfiction vs. completely original prose? character wise, perhaps. since you already have a face value in fanfiction, but in an original prose, you would have to craft everything from 0.

What do you think makes a good story? a good story is something that doesn’t romanticize the bad things going on in the world. a good story is something that is emphatic to the hardships of others. a good story is something that gives comfort to those who are in the dark. a good story is something that boosts the hearts of the readers and makes them feel things!!

What is your writing process like? first, i think of a plot! (this happens oftentimes when im washing the dishes) when i have the plot, i think of the ending. when i have the ending, it’s time for me to device a fitting title. and the plot would develop from then on.

Would you ever repurpose a fic into a completely original story? i don’t think so… this is scary. since some people think of fanfics as delusional works from delusional authors. it’s kinda sad.

What tropes do you love, and what tropes can’t you stand? i love love love enemies-to-lovers trope!! one that i couldn’t stand and do my best to not read is probably… hmm… no, i love all tropes!! i just love e-t-l most!

How much would you say audience feedback/engagement means to you? it means a ton. since it could really boosts me up. heavy sigh. it’s the best thing when you write something— the feedbacks. even though it’s a simple reblog with the ‘#ATKSHSKSHSKAHAKSGAHGEGSJA’ or ‘#myfave’. i would smile like an idiot whenever i read it.

Do you think art can be a medium for change? yes!! our country��s hero ‘jose rizal’ had somehow stirred the nationality of the people back in the old days because of his writings. i do believe that art changes things!! it has the ability to pierce the heart of the people.

Do you ever feel there are times when you’re writing for others, rather than yourself? yes. i feel this whenever im writing smut. i mean, let’s be real, your works would do better once you’ve included some steamy smut scenes in it. when i was writing my first fanfic after three years, i didn’t think that i’d ever include smut. but the fear of not getting feedbacks crept up in me, so i forced myself to write some sexy scenes. i know that’s like… weird. but i’m trying not to dwell on feedbacks any longer. and i also have decided not to write explicit smut anymore. honestly, i feel better now that i don’t force myself to do something that i think would please others rather than me.

Do you ever feel like people have misunderstood you or your writing at times? uhm, as far as i can remember, nope— still hasn’t felt that way. :)

Do your offline friends/loved ones know you write for Tumblr? yes!! my best friends irl knows about it. my sister knows. my parents are also aware of my passion in writing, and they do know that i write. but where and what, that remains obscured from them :D

What is one thing you wish you could tell your followers? that it’s okay to be vulnerable. it’s okay to make mistakes. it’s okay to fail sometimes. it’s okay to feel things. because like a good book, there is always a character development and you have the pen to write your own version of happy endings.

Do you have any advice for aspiring writers who might be too scared to put themselves out there? i’ve been there: the scared and conscious part. but one thing i would say is, you have to dare yourself!! you won’t know how your writing would have impacted so many lives and touch the hearts of people if you won’t grab your pen or your gadget and start your draft.

Are there any times when you regret joining Tumblr? nope, there aren’t. the community has been lovely to me ever since i started writing. :,)

Name: heartofstanding on AO3 - it’s a reference to the William Empson quote, “the heart of standing is you cannot fly” which I was obsessed with in like, 2010, 2011? I’ve been considering changing my nuingiliath username to heartofstanding - I’ve had nuingiliath on LJ since 2003 and on tumblr since, idek, 2012, 2013?

Fandoms: I mainly just write stuff focused around the English royal family in the late 14th century and early 15th century. My AO3 has stuff from The Hobbit, Being Human (UK version), Spooks (MI5 in the US) and Mad Max: Fury Road but I’m not currently writing in them. I keep threatening to write Shakespeare’s Henry IV fic though.

Where you post: mostly on AO3 - I tend to post prompt fills on tumblr only, mainly because I’m often not happy about how they turn out and I don’t edit and revise them as thoroughly as I do other stuff.

Most Popular One-shot: “Break the Quaking Heart”, which is a fill for a prompt on The Hobbit kink meme that’s not remotely kinky with Durin family feels that managed to foreshadow the “Kili is injured and rescued by an elf” thing before it was even a thing. In the 14th/15th century fandoms, which I suspect most people follow me for, it’s the Catherine/Henry V smutfic, “like flame and molten gold”. Apparently people really like that pairing.

Most Popular Multichap: A series that could be a multi-chapter: “Sunflowers”, which is another Hobbit fic, this time it’s an everybody lives AU that centres around Thranduil giving Thorin a sunflower.

Favourite story you’ve written so far: I think it has to be “when this kingdom comes”. It certainly surprised me because I didn’t set out to write that story - it was meant to be a Hal/Courtenay piece from Courtenay’s POV with some smut and some angst and then I switched the POV to Hal and that changed the focus entirely. I normally like my writing and feel confident in it but the first time I read the fic once it was finished, I was so proud of myself. It was the first time I was getting to the heart of Hal and Courtenay’s relationship, the first time I was tackling the issues around Hal and kingship that I’ve been thinking about for ages... and it was good.

Fic you were nervous to post: I’m sure it was actually one of The Hobbit fics because I was so shy and nervous about sharing fic at all at the time. More recently, “hold fast to your steady bleeding heart” because I was freaking out about the tags (that have since been wrangled) and “the swan” because it was a bit experimental in structure/style and was dealing with a bunch of personalities I really wasn’t familar with. Similarly, “Bella Court” was nerve-wracking because that was the first time I really wrote about Margaret of Anjou and she’s terrifying to write - and “the witch’s death” was too since I did write Margaret murdering my fave and not as a “yasss kween slay” moment.

How do you choose your titles: I basically collect inspiration for titles in a 100+ page google doc that I keep scrolling through. Usually I’ll pick out a title while it’s a WIP and either it stays and I’ll start lowkey panicking because it doesn’t end up really fitting and I’m searching/brainstorming for a new one and oh god. Yeah.

Do you outline: Sometimes. It depends on the piece - I usually have a buttload of notes (so I can’t forget stuff) and a sense of the movement of the piece - how this sequence leads to this one. I tend not to rigidly outline and in cases where I have a non-linear structure, it sort of just... goes.

Complete: most of my series are marked incomplete because who knows, I write might more in this general-verse. The only multi-chapter fic that’s not complete on AO3 is one I have abandoned (but am still holding out for, possibly). I tend to only post stuff on AO3 that I’ve finished so there’s so much incomplete/abandoned stuff on my files and on my old writing LJ.

In progress: I just finished the first draft of my ficathon fill and it’s massive so the editing/revising will be taking up my time. Otherwise, I’m playing with a sequel to “the swan” about Henry VI investigating Humphrey’s death, modern AU Henry IV dealing with Hal’s birth, Philippa of Lancaster leaving England in 1406, and a fic about Joan of Kent and the Black Prince agreeing to get married.

Coming soon/not yet started: I’ve been obsessed with writing Hal/Courtenay fic lately and @maplelantern was kind enough to send me a juicy prompt for them trying to hook up after Shrewsbury and Hal having Issues because he hasn’t worked out he’s a grey ace and he’s got trauma. I am also vaguely considering a fic abut William and Richard Courtenay that I suspect will be read by me and 2 people.

Prompts?: I like getting them but I’m not always the best at writing them, especially when they’re outside my wheelhouse.

Upcoming work you’re most excited about: probably the ficathon fill which is also the one I’m most nervous about. And I mean, more Hal/Courtenay stuff always gets me excited so there’s that.

ok im gonna turn into a bojack horseman blog real quick because the last few episodes came out and I have Thoughts

this is kinda rambly but whatevs, you gotta get the infodump out

-it’s … a LOT harder for me to empathise with BoJack after the real Sarah Lynn story came out. I sort of assumed that his guilt over it was just because he took her on the bender (and was also a dick when she was a child) but the revelation that he waited 17 minutes to do anything, when he could have saved her, is just ... bad. especially since it was never mentioned before now which makes it seem like a retcon

-also, people are gonna try to argue with the above point by saying he was also drunk/high at the time, but I don’t think he was? I know they were on a bender together but we dont know how drunk/high he was as of the hotel/planetarium scene. im underage and ive never drunk alcohol or taken a drug stronger than ibuprofen so i might be wrong here, but I feel like someone whos sober enough to plan out how to avoid getting in trouble for that (right down to the detail of calling himself on her phone) is sober enough to not wait 17 fucking minutes to get someone medical attention

-Im lowkey upset about the lack of closure with hollyhock? we never even find out for sure if Pete told her that it was BoJack who gave maddy alcohol poisoning, theres a few comments that imply she does but her complaints about him not giving her space are perfectly valid by themselves and she doesn't really seem to be angry until after the interview comes out so who knows

-personally, based on how Pete hesitates at the end of A Quick One, While He’s Away, I feel like he doesn’t tell her, probably because he sees how much they look alike and guesses she might be related to him, BUT shes very suspicious that its him because lets face it that's exactly the sort of thing he would do, which is why she wants to keep her distance in the next episode

-I have mixed feelings on her letter never being shown? on one hand it feels kinda cheap that we never see it even though its arguably the main turning point that pushes him over the edge, but on the other hand I think its best this way because theres nothing she could write that wouldn't feel underwhelming after all the build up. sort of like how I lowkey hoped for a reveal of what Erica looks like, but I also knew that nothing they could animate would really be able to match all the jokes

-also, random weird theory: when he calls hollyhock after reading the letter, it says the line is disconnected. except it sounds like hollyhock saying that? and her voicemail message up until then is “leave a message … if you’re a hundred”, so it’s pretty clear that she doesn't get voicemails often, and its not a stretch to assume bojack is the only person who would call her (her friends and dads would probably text). conclusion: her line isn’t disconnected, she just changed her voicemail to get him to stop trying to call her

-the fact that Judah's band is called “SPECTRUM of enchantment” confirms he is autistic and no I do not take constructive critisicm

-I fucking loved the reprise of Don’t Stop Dancing, which is my fave song from the series by far, but I wish it was longer and reprised all the verses from gina’s version.

-it was kinda weird that butterscotch was secretariat? they managed to pull it off pretty well but still, its weird how its never explained. I guess its because neither of them were developed as much as the other characters so having them both would have meant having two characters with only a few lines, but both were needed for the plot (butterscotch for the revelation that he maybe did care about bojack and Beatrice,secretariat for the poem)

-honestly I LOVED The View From Halfway Down. both the poem and the episode as a whole

-also. my finale predictions were basically this: it wont end with bojacks suicide, because weve spent 6 seasons following this guy and if he dies itll all be for nothing, but theres way too much drowning symbolism for it to not pay off in some way. so my best guess was a failed suicide attempt by drowning. so yay i was right!

-anyone else seeing symbolism with Hollywoob? like yeah, its a nice conclusion to both the Hollywoo gag and the recurring gag of mr peanutbutters shitty sign company, but the original reason the D was stolen was for Diane, back when Diane/Mr PB/BoJack was an actual love triangle. and I feel like the fact that it got replaced represents her choosing neither of them, but the fact that it’s a B instead of a D represents that shes changed a lot since then?

-alternatively: looking at it from mr peanutbutters perspective, the D was for Diane, back when they were married. the years of Hollywoo represented their shitty marriage and divorce (we know diane hates big gestures, so their relationship was doomed starting from when the D was stolen). and the B is for BoJack, since mr PB is one of the only characters who hasn’t at least implied that he wants to keep his distance from bojack

-im so glad we get to actually see how the voicemail affected diane. as well as address the fact that, intentionally or not, hes been making it her job to “save” him and that's not fair to her

-honestly im a big fan of the theory that BJ does die and episode 16 isn't real. I know its less of a theory and more of a fandom retcon because the ending came across as rushed and too open-ended (because honestly it kinda did), but the fact that the first shot is the last shot makes the theory feel really fitting

-my take on that theory is that the last 2 episodes are bojack’s hell? sort of like a Good Place-esque hell where you’re trapped in an infinite cycle of things being awful, but just not bad enough for you to realise you’re in hell. my guess is that first he goes through the hell of the dinner party (which he mentions is a recurring dream), but eventually he gets used to it so he moves on to the showcase, after which he ends up in a never-ending cycle of “waking up”, going to prison, going to the wedding, talking to diane, and starting over

-especially since when diane is persuading him to tell the truth about sarah lynn, one of the points she makes is that if he stops lying, he won’t have to constantly feel like he’s waiting for the other shoe to drop. so now hes stuck eternally being scared of what will happen once hes out of prison, which will never happen because it resets on the roof. he’s made his bed, now it’s time for him to lie in it. forever.
