I say this with all the love in the world for Dalmatians, but they are the anti-malinois. A guardian/protection breed most of whose breeders vehemently don't want to breed to original purpose past aesthetic, and who think the breed gets an unearned bad rap. bc every time i see someone say they wanna know more about hobie i have to fight back the urge to infodump in their inbox (shout-out to the person i just did that to! so sorry!). i've seen ppl who read the spiderman 2099 comics doing the same for miguel, too (PLEASE give me a reading list i am so intrigued), and a few for spidernoir (again. list. please) n other spiderpeople. seeing ppl enthusiastically sharing these characters rather than trying to keep them to themselves is so refreshing and oddly comforting, in some way

(that being said, i'm ABSOLUTELY gatekeeping hobie from people he'd delight in knocking the lights out of. it's morally justified gatekeeping, at that point. you don't get to enjoy a character themed around an entire subculture if you're disrespectful of or in direct conflict with the core belief system of said subculture - thems the breaks.)

Melatonin is a delicate balancing act, it took some time to find a dose that helped me fall and stay asleep without leaving me groggy after 8/10 hours. For me, that has been 10 mg gradually increased to such over a few weeks then steady since.

I also take roughly a week without it every month or two, as the bottle recommends. Listen to your body and do what you can. Good luck, and thank you for the sweet gay were/pire comic<3

Yeah, I can tell my sweet zone is somewhere between 3 and 6 mg, at least right now. Or at least I think it is. Admittedly my sleep has been absolutely horrible since I was a kid so my standards on "not tired" are pretty low, so I'm not actually sure if they're any good right now. All I know is I'm getting more than 2 hours of sleep at a time, and I'm not spending every waking moment fighting off a nap!

Thanks for the confirmation I've gotta test with it and go off and on and such, my doc didn't give me a straight answer on that (he just kept saying take it as needed... I need it every night!!!). 75% of the time being good is way better than 0% so I'll take what I can get!

nightbringer lesson 14 FUCKED ME UP in several ways but primarily I've spent the last 48 hours making myself sad over the solomon backstory we got. specifically I have, for no reason, latched onto that one chapter in the Kids event where baby solomon cried because he felt so guilty over being responsible for that spell. and that just feels a touch more depressing in context

HE IS SO RIGHT AND REAL FOR THAT #it's beyond stressful to me that I think solomon is completely justified in his views and being completely reasonable about it #but that it would also mean war between the worlds presumably while the brothers are still recovering from THEIRS #you cannot give me that choice man. not even sure that the human world would be ABLE to win that fight if we're being real #solomon's 72 pacts are a lot yes but he's still only one guy who is NOT on good terms with the sorcerer's society #and mc is powerful but so so inexperienced. and that's IF they choose to side with the human world which #really i don't think the canon mc is likely to do. but anyway i guess solomon's friend could also be adam maybe? #that could be wishful thinking because i like adam though. even if his hair SUUUCKS #deeply offended by everyone thinking solomon got the fucked up hair when all signs point to adam be NICE TO HIM he's ugly already

I finished the Branch picture first, then I spent a decent amount of time sketching out the other faces. I really enjoy drawing siblings as it’s fun to choose which features they will share and how they differ. I then spent a million years mindlessly colouring and recolouring trying to get the shading right so now I can’t tell if they look good or not. Also you cannot see Floyd’s earring because he is facing the wrong way but I promise he is wearing one.

I also sketched them in their early Brozone days. I imagine they all had the same(ish) hairstyle but dyed a different colour.

Yo! I think the Endless Possibility -> Endless Possibilities comes from one of the most earliest lyric videos on YouTube which misnamed the song, it has like 3M views. Funnily enough that it doesn't get the chorus wrong, which I've heard people sing wrong, so it's only the title that's wrong.

yeah i definitely think that misnamed videos with a lot of views are at least partially responsible. since the song didn't have any sort of official release for a long time so people couldnt just . see the official uploads and know the titles on those other ones were wrong

funy lil swap au! ft:  Yui: “Older” Brother who Thinks he’s in charge. a beleaguered 14-year-old who stumbled into being a slayer and super isn’t prepared for this. Unfortunately, having your sole remaining family turn into a demon is kind of antithetical to “go home and pretend nothing happened.” he is handling this very well. (lie) a user of wind-breathing, his main priority is keeping him and mui safe, and is a bit overprotective. which is a problem, since mui will charge headfirst into the first sign of danger to protect him. their relationship is a bit messy, but they’re pretty much the only thing holding each other together. a kid trying so hard to act bigger than he is-- and inevitably, routinely failing.

Mui: Odd Little Creacher secretly hiding Rage More Powerful Than A Thousand Suns. just barely surviving the attack of their family one fateful night by That Man, he manages to completely break the curse and hunger or being a demon through his own sheer will. unfortunately, he also completely loses control of himself and, in order to make sure that energy doesnt completely tear him apart, his consciousness completely mists over-- leaving him rather airheaded and distant in an attempt to hold back the roaring of a new power he cannot control. . but hes so silly!! ^w^ couldn’t hurt a fly!!

Murata: Some Fucking Guy who just so happened to get roped into all this. is just absolutely baffled this kid is out here slaying demons like this, and is honestly doing his best to make sure he doesn’t stupidly get himself killed. despite being at a higher rank than them, though, he’s kind of... well, he hasn’t gotten the hang of water-breathing techniques. try as he might, he just cant quite reach the same skill level as some of his peers. even still though, he has to keep trying. he has a job to do, and promises to keep. 

Susamaru: Professionally identifies as a Problem. a user of beast-breathing, she just kind of... shows up one day and starts antagonizing. originally started fighting the twins for the honestly-kind-of-reasonable reason of “That Kid Is A Demon And Thats A Fucking Problem” but got distracted messing with yui enough to get. kinda curious about the other one. she’s loud and brash and fucking annoying, but at some point she just... asserted herself. and never left.  she’s an odd case. ridiculously skilled at the whole slaying-demons thing, she just... doesnt seem to take things seriously. has a penchant for irritating people on purpose-- but its purely for the extent of understanding how they work. what makes them tick. she’s here for a good time, not a long time. most of her peers don’t like her much, but once she’s decided that she likes someone, theres very little she wont do for them. and these nerds just so happen to be next on the list. 

. all in all, its just these dorks against the world. there’s just. a ridiculous amount of mess ive written about how they function and how their arcs shape up, and while there Are some other roles and etc written up, my brain has been completely laser focused on These Four In Particular, so . \o/ ! anyway, heres a bunch of ambient sketches from all over the place of Them(tm)

When you refer to two people separately but together - she and I; her and Beth; him and Alex - mentally remove the “and [other person]” and check to make sure the sentence makes sense.

“Her and I came to see if you’re okay” becomes “Her came to see if you’re okay,” and that doesn’t scan. “She came to see if you’re okay” does. Now when you place the “and I” back in, you get “She and I came to see if you’re okay.”

When in doubt, remove the “and ___” to see if it works. If it doesn’t, you’ve used the wrong pronoun.
