Note
I'm one of the many people who didn't get the hype for Dual Destinies when it came out, mainly because it's so obviously Takeshi Yamazaki's first mainline Ace Attorney game.
Athena ultimately amounted to what felt like fodder in a game that was supposed to be about her, it makes Phoenix's reinstatement feel cheap (despite how much the game tried to make it seem like a bigger deal than it is), Klavier shows up for a single chapter and does nothing for the rest of the story, and mysteries just weren't well thought out or fun to solve (90% of almost every case feels less like an Ace Attorney case, and more like I'm sitting through a Dora The Explorer episode).
Although, I do like Simon Blackquill quite a bit since he's probably my second favorite prosecutor in the series, and Sasha Buckler is a fun character.
I'll be honest and admit I never played DD, I only watched the Let's Dub Project series (very fun channel, they also did T&T, AAI and many other games). But I also watched SOJ, and even with all my grievances, I do remember most of what happened in that game, while DD slipped out of my memory completely.
It does feel a little... I don't know. Sloppy? Poor Athena got shafted in her debut game even worse than Apollo in his own, and even even worse in SOJ lol. And yes, Phoenix hit the reset button pretty hard, no way DD Phoenix is the same one who changed how trials work to catch one dude. DD tries so hard to pretend AJ didn't happen... but it still put many iconic characters on the bus (where is Gumshoe???)
Also the Dark Age of Law thing was pretty unsubtle, compared to how the original trilogy showed to you how biased the legal system is against the defense.
But yeah, Simon is a delight, a ronin in the Japanese version and a full on weeb in the English one lol. The DLC case was pretty good too, it had an interesting culprit.

Venom-mal members
Solar System entertainment has a pre-debut girl group. Although, they're set to debut in January. The name is Venom-mal and each member represents a different venomous animal.
Bang Jihye
English name: Athena Bang
December 16, 1999
INFP
Rapper, Fake Maknae
Merlin’s sister. She moved to Korea basically as soon as her senior year of high school ended and lived with Merlin for two years.
Initially debuted as a soloist, but realized she didn’t like it that much. She asked the company if she could debut in a group and they said yes. She initially wanted her stage name to be her English name Athena, but she didn’t like how it sounded in Korean, so she decided to go with her Korean name.
Jihye doesn’t get sick too often, but when she does, she becomes extremely emotional. She’s already fairly emotional (She cries at the song Silent Night), but it’s even worse when she’s sick. Doesn’t matter if it’s a cold, a stomach bug, or flu, not feeling well ramps up her emotions to a twenty. She’s very into skinship and will basically be hanging off whichever dongsaeng will tolerate it.
Her sneezes are tiny but powerful. She’s always bent at the waist when she sneezes and if she’s standing up, she’s sometimes propelled forward. She has a mild pollen allergy.
She never fully got the hang of honorifics and calls all the members unnie, except for Joey (American customs of not having honorifics won out on that one)
Even though she’s two and a half years younger than Merlin, she’s the spitting image of him. If she were to cut her hair to the length of Merlin’s, they would essentially look like identical twins.
Representative animal: Slow Loris
Joey Jung (JJ)
Korean name: Jung Jimin
February 29, 2000
ESTP
Main Dancer, visual, fake maknae number 2
Joey is from America. Their legal name is Joanne, but prefer to go by Joey or JJ. They just recently moved to Korea, but spoke Korean at home, so they’re proficient conversationally, but still working on learning korean. They like to make jokes about only being five and a half years old, but that’s just because they’re a leap year baby.
Joey is an extremely stubborn sickie. They are very independent and even if they’re too dizzy to stand, they’ll insist they’re fine to go to work or that they don’t need anyone to stay behind to help them.
Joey also has fairly tiny sneezes. At one point they trained themself to say pikachu when they sneeze. So they come out as “Pika-tiew” They don’t have any allergies, but they are a photic sneezer, so they sneeze at least once per day
Face claim: Yechan from Pink Fantasy
Representative animal: The Northern Shrew
Kim Haneul
August 27, 2002
ISFJ
Leader, Main vocalist
Haneul takes being the leader of the group very seriously. Unfortunately, this sometimes translates into overworking herself. There have been a few times where the others have found her sleeping at the dining room table. Haneul doesn’t get sick very often, but when she does, it hits hard. She always winds up with a fever, even if it’s a minor cold. Her sneezes are relatively loud in volume, she’s also terrible at covering and at most turns her head away. She doesn’t have any allergies that she’s aware of, but she does have a fairly sensitive nose. This occasionally causes problems when she’s getting her makeup done.
Face claim: Iree from Rolling Quartz
Representative animal: Platypus
Cho Daeun
October 31, 2004
ENFJ
Lead vocalist
Daeun is a very sneezy person. She’s allergic to pollen, animal fur, and dust. She’s also sensitive to strong scents. She carries at least 3 travel packs of tissues on her at all times. Daeun gets sick a decent amount, but she frequently confuses being sick with allergies. As such she’s going to assume it’s allergies unless she’s got a fever or it’s the middle of winter. She is the least prone to catching a stomach bug and the most willing to try random food combinations no matter how gross they sound.
Face claim: Jiae from Lovelyz
Representative Animal: Gila Monster
Oh Nari
July 22, 2005
INTP
Lead dancer, actual maknae
Nari almost never gets sick in that she almost never catches anything. However she has a very sensitive stomach. She can’t do spicy food, nor can she do mukbangs. She’s slightly sensitive to dust, but otherwise never sneezes. If she does manage to catch a cold, chances are high it’s a chest cold.
Face Claim: Twice Nayeon
Representative animal: Fire Salamander

It’s Thirsty Thursday!! Here’s a master post of all my fics.
even if we can’t find heaven (i’ll walk through hell with you) - my longfic for The Flash, focusing on Steph Taylor, physicist at Athena Labs and childhood friend of Eddie Thawne, whose life changes forever when the particle accelerator explodes. This is only the start, and she gains new allies and uncovers startling revelations - and things are only gonna get weirder once the Flash debuts in Central City. Initially intended to be a fic mainly focusing on Steph and Eddie’s friendship - because I felt that Eddie deserved a friend who really appreciated him - this fic has absolutely snowballed. Currently 9 chapters.
to save the world (with a friend by my side) - my other longfic for SyFy’s Krypton, where Adam Strange and his friend Ashley Tanner travel back in time to save Krypton. Problem is, the villain they’re after’s already arrived, Kandor’s a powder keg due to the political and religious tensions - two things the duo try desperately not to get involved in - there’s an extremist group making things even worse, and Adam and Ashley are about to find their different approaches are going to clash. On top of that, Ashley really wants to help Krypton, which is difficult seeing as the planet’s going to explode in 200 years and there’s nothing they can do about it, even without the timeline to consider. This is part 1 of a series, and there will be eventual Adam/Seg. Currently 6 out of 11 chapters.
flufftober 2021 - my series of short fics for this year’s Flufftober, which was such fun to do and definitely boosted my confidence in writing oneshots - and writing in general, to be honest. The majority are ship-fics set in the DCTV verse, but there’s a handful of Marvel and Ace Attorney ones as well (and some are gen-fics)
emerald legacy - An AU spanning from Arrow’s S1 finale, where Oliver was the one who died saving Laurel, not Tommy. In the midst of dealing with Oliver’s death, plus the revelation that Thea’s his sister, Tommy knows that sooner or later the city is going to need a protector again, and decides to take up Oliver’s mantle. Only two stories have been written so far - the first dealing with the aftermath of Oliver’s death, and the second picks up three months later, with Tommy already deep into training. The next few stories are going to deal with Tommy’s first few missions as the Arrow, plus Sara Lance turning out to be alive and the ramifications of that.
of legacies and lies - Agents of SHIELD did a great job of showing how SHIELD agents dealt with the HYDRA revelation...but what about if an agent was descended from one of SHIELD’s founders? How would they deal with the revelation that the organisation they’d been working for was HYDRA all along? This fic was born from that, the main character being Alex Thompson, Jack’s granddaughter, forced to make her way across Europe with limited resources since her whole team was wiped out - two of them HYDRA, the other two her friends, and she the only survivor of the resulting firefight. Her whole career in SHIELD was a lie and she has to deal with that. Meanwhile in the US, her grandparents are worried sick about her, a situation not helped by the fact that she’s also under suspicion of being HYDRA.
a god’s reflection - a rewrite of an old FFN story, written from Loki’s POV after his initial imprisonment post-Avengers as he thinks about his actions, and regrets that he’ll never really have a chance to make amends because he’ll likely be imprisoned for the rest of his life.
when one door closes (another opens) - I made up a whole other Earth to play around in with my own version of Legends, and this is the first (and currently only) story in the series, where Brianna Thawne - after saving the timeline and being ostracised from half her century’s Team Flash, and on strained terms with the other half - decides to take Sara Lance up on the offer she made when the Legends came to Central two months ago, to join them. Being a magic user as well as a speedster, she’s in interesting company - and the journey’s only just beginning.
now we have (the freedom to choose) - an AU of Legends’ S1 finale, something I wrote after realising that Kendra isn’t the only one dealing with destiny, but Carter - and since he’s the one who always remembers first, it’s unlikely he’s ever had much chance to be with other people like Kendra has. Featuring a more self-aware Carter and a heart to heart with Sara Lance.
you’ve always been (a part of me) - an angsty Krypton fic, born of the fact that I’d been thinking about humans and Kryptonians, and the fact that Kryptonians live far longer than humans even without a yellow sun, so that if Adam and Seg ever got together, Seg would outlive Adam. This kinda broke my heart, so I decided to break everyone else’s - but the two do eventually talk about things.
speak (and i’ll listen) - a short MonWinn fic set in an AU of Supergirl S2 (the AU being that they’re together, and not Mon and Kara), where Winn is stressed out because he feels he should’ve been able to stop Music Meister, and Mon comforts him. I still have no idea how I started shipping these two, but I definitely don’t regret it.
to new beginnings - A Westhallen short fic written for Polyam Shpping Day #14, set in an alternate season 2 and featuring the three of them discussing New Year’s resolutions.

Dear Inferno,
Essay?  You just said the magic word.
Tumblr media
Trucy’s a bit of a lengthy character to unpack, but I’ll see what I can pull out of my hat.
Trucy Wright, CEO, magic extraordinaire, and maiden of mystery, formerly Trucy Gramarye, the 8-year-old prodigy magician.  She’s the kind of character who never forgets to smile (that’s part of her creed, in fact), and always has a magic trick up her sleeve.  Or her magic panties, in this case.
Tumblr media
This optimism and charm of hers do a lot to make her likable, both as the second non-Maya assistant in the series and as a side character who provides some comedy relief for the agency when morale is low.
But interestingly enough, this isn’t the sort of character she’s introduced as.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trucy’s first “magic act” is to appear out of nowhere as Apollo is trying to contemplate how his boss suddenly became a murder suspect.  Rather than offering a smile and an encouraging message, she decides to play the role of a mysterious fortuneteller.
Tumblr media
If I didn’t know who was saying this, I might think it was a Toad from Super Mario Bros. 3.
Tumblr media
So far, all she is to Apollo (and us) is a mysterious messenger trying to help her father...until he realizes just who her father is.
Tumblr media
This presents a new mystery for Apollo (and for us): How did a young magician wind up in the custody of an ex-lawyer?  And on top of that, why was a locket with her picture in the possession of a shady drifter...and why did Phoenix feel the need to take it from his dead body?
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Phoenix is just as cryptic as Trucy in her debut game, but it’s far from the end of Apollo’s interaction with them.
Tumblr media
After two months of coping with the loss of his first position as an attorney and considering Phoenix’s offer to work at the legendary Wright & Co. Law Offices, Apollo finally shows up there to discover that it not only went through a name chance, but now has it’s own CEO -- the same mysterious girl he ran into before!
Before he knows it, he’s being interviewed for the Wright Talent Agency by a magician whose energetic and professional attitude completely contradicts her father’s calm, laid-back personality.  It isn’t until his misunderstanding is cleared up that she finally introduces herself:
Tumblr media
It’s here that we also hear Trucy’s theme, “Child of Magic,” for the first time, which does a great job of conveying the sort of delightful, peppy aura Trucy creates just by being herself.  Speaking of which, Apollo gets to “enjoy” a bunch more of her optimism as she explains her and Phoenix’s current situation.  According to her, the former law office was converted into an agency for acquiring talented individuals.
Tumblr media
She also describes what might be her most important role in Phoenix’s life, whether she knows it or not.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so she did.  She may not have actually cooked for him (or maybe she did, we don’t know), but she did provide Phoenix, a well-respected lawyer who’d just been cheated out of his badge, with exactly what he needed at the time: a reason to keep going.  It’s hard to imagine what his life would’ve been like without her making her entrance into it, so to speak, but because of her, he was compelled to pull himself together, find a job, and begin to move on from one of the darkest moments of his life.  In short, Trucy became a light in his darkness.  Pretty impressive for an 8-year-old, huh?
We’ll get to that in due time, though.  The next thing we learn about Trucy comes from her Daddy, and once again, it’s pretty vague.
Tumblr media
What could this “talent” of hers be?  Besides being a talented magician and motivator, that is?  We don’t find that out until after she’s spent some time as Apollo’s investigating assistant.
Tumblr media
Thus she officially becomes Apollo’s “Maya,” a role she fills remarkably well, being just as cute, perky, annoying, and naive as Maya ever was.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Every good lawyer needs one of those, after all.
Then, when Apollo finally gets his first *cough* normal case, we get to see what Trucy’s capable of in the courtroom.  ...Well, after a quick diversion.
Tumblr media
Has Professor Layton gone rogue and joined the mafia?  Nope, it’s just one of Trucy’s best tricks -- the Amazing Mr. Hat!
Tumblr media
Not even going to ask how that works.
After this hilarious sideshow, Trucy reveals what her special “talent” is, and how it can help Apollo.
Tumblr media
For the first time in the series, we have a courtroom mechanic that doesn’t involve pressing someone, presenting evidence, or asking the right questions -- instead we get to use a brand-new technique to slow time down and spot witnesses’ nervous habits when they tell lies, and our young magician friend is just the one to introduce it to us (much like Pearl introduced the Psyche-Lock mechanic to Phoenix).
Tumblr media
She apparently knows about Apollo’s “perceive” ability from Phoenix, but how does she happen to have the same gift herself?  That remains a mystery until we learn about her past, which doesn’t happen until near the end of the game.
Thankfully, we aren’t playing the game here, so we can just skip ahead to that part.
During the third case, Trucy’s real father, Zak Gramarye, is given a brief mention, but all we learn about him is that he’s a magician who once belonged to Troupe Gramarye.  Who is he today, though?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It turns out his identity is none other than Shadi Smith, the card-playing drifter who was murdered by Kristoph (and the one partly responsible for Phoenix’s disbarment).  We could get into his *ah-HEM* wonderful fathering technique, but the important thing here is what we learn from him about Trucy and Apollo’s gift.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Whatever this strange ability is, it’s apparently hereditary, passed down from Trucy’s mother.  Also, as Phoenix deduces, Apollo shares this ability because, shocker of shockers, the two of them share the same mother, Thalassa Gramarye.
Tumblr media
Who’d have thunk it?  Not even Phoenix, even though he’s a good thunker.
Speaking of Phoenix, let’s go back to his first meeting with young Trucy.
Tumblr media
When she first entered his life, she was a famous magician’s daughter whose first “performance” was to help him escape a Guilty verdict.  She of course didn’t know at the time how long it would be before she saw him again, or the lawyer she was talking to would soon be replacing him.  It’s here, by the way, that we learn we she gets her charming grin from.
Tumblr media
And then...tragedy.
Tumblr media
With her father missing and no living relatives to take care of her, Trucy’s future looks even bleaker than Phoenix’s (which is saying a lot).  Thankfully, he offers to let her stay with him until her father comes back, and does his best to help her feel comfortable.  Luckily for both of them, her father already gave her some advice.
Tumblr media
Then comes the big switcheroo.  As mentioned before, Trucy provided Phoenix with a reason to keep going after losing his job, but when we see how it actually took place, it becomes clear that she took it a step further than that -- she practically led him forward by the hand.
Tumblr media
This makes me wonder something: could her vigorous encouragement have reminded Phoenix of another young woman who came into his life just after a tragedy occurred?
Tumblr media
Maybe it’s just speculation, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Maya had crossed his mind.  He even told Trucy she could call him “Nick” if she wanted to.  If nothing else, that provided some serious heartfelt nostalgia.
One other thing I loved about AJ: AA is how it showed Trucy’s more fragile side near the end.  Things worked out pretty well for her after the ordeal with her father, but that doesn’t mean she felt no emotion about it.
Tumblr media
We’ll never know how much of her sadness is due to her father’s death and how much is due to his sudden disappearance, but at least we’re given a chance to see her being less magical and more human.
And finally, let us fast-forward past Trucy’s adoption, her accidental reunion with her half-brother, and her antics in the courtroom to the final (and in my opinion, the best) big moment for her: The Magical Turnabout.  Here we get to see, through the magic of animation and voice-overs, how expertly Trucy performs and how confidently she speaks for the first time.
But just when things seem to be going better than ever for her and the new Troupe Gramarye...
Tumblr media
What a way to go, huh?
Thankfully, that situation was an imaginary one (and she came out on top, as always), but then a real disaster occurs.
Tumblr media
She’s lucky enough to have Apollo and Athena there to help her, but she’s left to wonder if Mr. Reus’s death was due to a fatal accident on her part.  If so, it would be a devastating blow to her magic career, besides destroying Troupe Gramarye’s reputation after it had just made a recovery.  Luckily, there’s one person who doesn’t believe she could make such a mistake, and who can see through her fake smile.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then we get one more glimpse of Trucy’s human side, but for a completely different reason: Apollo’s faith in her performing ability, even as she struggles to believe in herself.
Tumblr media
Unlike her previous crying scene, this one is more bittersweet than sad.  Having faith in your friends might be a cliche, but it’s moments like this when you see just how much it matters.
Things go from bad to worse when she suddenly finds herself in the Accused of Murder Club while her Daddy’s out of the country, but like always, the truth comes out in the end.  But here’s what I love most about this case: Trucy herself gets to play a role in proving her innocence, simply by doing what she does best: performing magic!
Tumblr media
Besides giving her defense team new evidence to work with, her trick completely turns the room around.  Even Apollo couldn’t detect the sword switch with his kinetic vision.  Not bad for an impromptu performance, huh?
And if that wasn’t beautiful enough, the judge himself asks Trucy a favor before announcing a verdict:
Tumblr media
Looks like she’s officially earned the title, hasn’t she?
So with all this in mind, what’s the best way to describe Trucy?  She’s a great magician, a strong motivator, a bringer of joy and encouragement to those around her, a comedy relief when one is needed, and...  Oh yeah, I forgot -- it turns out she’s also a bit of a sadist.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sort of a weird character quirk for Capcom to give her, in my opinion, but not too hard to believe, I guess.
But most importantly, she’s a true entertainer, much like her old Daddy, and someone who knows how to smile even in the darkest of times and who has an eye (two, in fact) for the truth, much like her new Daddy.  You could say she represents the best of both worlds.
Tumblr media
You’re still a jerk, though, Zak.

Minor Detail: Announcing the Heir [Wacky Drabble #20 & #23]
Pairing: Athena x Liam; past Athena x Percy
Word count: 989
Warnings: angst; evil Liam
Summary: Liam surprises Athena.
A/N: Hoping to be able to wrap this up in two to three chapters maximum. A huge thank you to both @sirbeepsalot and @burnsoslow for reading an unfinished first draft. This is my messed up take on chapter three(with a time jump).
A/N2: this is a very late submission to @emceesynonymroll wacky drabble challenge. 20- Have you lost your mind?; 23-  Leave me out of it. I'm not going.  prompts will be bolded. (Prompts May have changed to fit the story.)
A/N3: I’m hoping this makes sense, between writing part of five and all of four I got a tad distracted from this chapter. Before I could continue with my train of thought our family suffered an unexpected loss, while I wasn’t close to the person their death is greatly affecting my husband and my child is still processing (it’s going to be hell once his dam bursts). I do have chapter four ready to go for 2/29 and I do hope to have chapter five done soon but right now both my boys need me.
I only own Percy, the rest I’m borrowing from PB.
Tumblr media
“Hello my queen.”
Athena rolled her eyes at Liam’s sugary sweet words. Since she sprung the truth on him, she’d been sleeping in the guest room, unable to continue to pretend with him since he’d signed her child away. He’d been sweeter, intent on proving she was his. “Unless you are here to tell me you’ve gotten Hunter out of that bullshit betrothal, I don’t want to hear it.”
“Unfortunately, I have not.” He hadn’t even tried to look for a loophole to change the details of the alliance, instead putting his efforts into making Hunter legally his.
“Well, as I said, I don’t want to hear it; you can show yourself out now.”
“I have, however, assembled the court and press to officially present our princess to the country.”
“You did what?” Please tell me I misheard.
“We are introducing Hunter to court today; I had matching outfits made for you and Hunter to mark the occasion.”
Athena blinked. Is he out of his ever loving mind?! “Have you lost your mind? That’s what’s happening here, right? Because I know you don’t really believe I will just parade Hunter as your heir after you sold her off like fucking cattle!” Her body shook with rage. “There is no way that I am parading Percy’s child as your own since your very first act as her ‘father’ was to sell her hand in marriage.”
“She is mine.”
“Excuse me?”
“I spoke to Duke Perceval and he signed his rights over to me.”
Athena narrowed her eyes; he’s lying. “You are so full of shit right now! Percy would never sign away his child! When we thought I was pregnant, he was ready to raise your child, and now you expect me to believe that you spoke to him and he willingly signed away any and all rights to Hunter?” She fought back a scream - all he’d done, and now he was stooping to blatant lies to save his own ass. “Leave me out of it, leave Hunter out of it. We. Are. Not. Going.”
--
“Shhhh, I know sweetie, you need to settle down, Hunter.” Athena said as she shifted a fussy Hunter in her arms. His idea of pretty matching dresses were blue floral monstrosities, Hunter’s with yards of puffy tulle that made her squirm and cry. We both would have been happier in the pink dresses.
“Well, that was a disaster; can you try to calm her so she can be somewhat dignified for the rest of the day?”
“Are you kidding me right now, Liam? It’s your fault she’s unhappy. I told you she would hate this dress, but you wouldn’t listen.”
“The dress isn’t the problem; it’s your attitude, my queen. She senses your unwillingness and is reacting to it, so please remain cordial and presentable.”
Athena clenched her teeth as she continued to rock Hunter in her arms. She wanted to rip the blasted tulle skirt off of her daughter’s dress, screaming at the man she’d been forced to marry. Her eyes met Percy’s from across the room briefly. Her heart ached, she should be by his side as they introduced their daughter to court. How much longer can I parade this lie? Every minute spent with Liam and away from Percy felt like she was slowly dying. She was no longer happy, or carefree. I’m so sorry Hunter, this is not the life I wanted for you. “If you’re so worried about Hunter’s behavior, perhaps you should allow us to return to our quarters.”
“Nonsense my queen.” He rested his hand on her lower back. “I trust that you shall both be on your best behavior.”
--
“I know my sweet girl, it’s okay, mama is here.” Athena said as she swayed side to side, a slight bounce in her movements to calm Hunter who was nuzzled against her chest.
It had been weeks since Hunter’s disastrous debut, tensions between her and Liam only proving to become worse. Any time that Hunter acted less than the perfect princess Liam expected her to be he blamed her. Her hatred towards him was corrupting their sweet child. Her stomach would churn each and every time he would try to claim her daughter.
Oh sweetie I wish I could just make you feel better. She sighed as she continued to bounce Hunter, desperate to help her sick daughter in any way. “Liam, just go without me. Olivia will understand as will the citizens; a good mother and queen would stay with her sick child.”
Liam sighed, it had been months since Hunter was born, and yet Athena continued to act like an ice queen whenever they weren’t in public. “My queen, she will be fine.” He lifted the crying, feverish infant from her mother’s arms.
“She is sick. Now give my sweet girl back to me and leave.”
“You are going with me.” He handed Hunter off to Hana. “Hana is more than capable of handling anything that may come up.”
This isn’t right! How can you take a mother from her sick child? Tears pricked at her eyes and her throat tightened at the thought of leaving Hunter behind. “No, she needs me.”
Liam’s jaw twitched. Why must she make this so hard? “She will be fine my love, if it makes you feel better I will leave Bastien with her incase an emergency might arise where they need to leave the palace.”
The thought of being away from her sweet daughter, powerless to help was unbearable. She wanted to fight, but she could see there was no reasoning with Liam, there never was; he always got exactly what he wanted. “Fine, just let me say goodbye to my daughter.”
“I’ll wait in the car, do hurry.”
Athena waited until Liam stepped away, her eyes locking onto the head guards, she kept her voice low to remain unheard. “Bastien, if anything happens to Hunter, call Duke Perceval.”
Feedback fuels me, please like, comment reblog or send an ask. Feel free to scream, I promise I can take it.

Jack was always awful
so there’s this general (and frankly bizarre given there’s plenty of easy access to the context) consensus in the fandom that Jack was actually a decent guy until the Pre-Sequel (and that everything is Lilith and Moxxi’s fault blah blah blah, yeah yeah, we get it you’re very transparent)
but here’s the thing like, the series itself doesn’t agree with you, so let’s put things in chronological order:
Before Borderlands 1
- murdered his first wife (oh sure he claims Angel did it, unable to control her powers, but he’s also a self-serving liar and canonically gaslights her, “he’ll try to guilt you, to make you think it’s your fault”, so calling bullshit on that), and oh how convenient that now he gets to exploit Angel’s abilities for his own ends afterwards
- Jack forces a very young Angel into a ‘chair’ and forces her to use her abilities for his own gain in climbing the corporate ladder by having her pretend to be an AI, using the death of her mother as an excuse - she is in there for the rest of her life until her Vault Hunter assisted suicide and she is under his near constant control (she’s not even allowed to swear)
- murdered his second wife (oh yeah he claims she ‘bolted’ in TFTBL but the first time we heard about her, in the mission “Get to Know Jack” in BL2, it’s stated that she disappeared after finding out about Angel, and Jack strangles the guy who brought her up)
Borderlands 1
- made Angel manipulate the BL1 Vault Hunters so they’d open the Vault and unleash the Destroyer (and release Eridium, which he was planning for); when she questions him he yells at her to shut up - to put that in full context, he used Angel to trick the Vault Hunters into releasing an alien superweapon that would’ve killed everyone on the planet if they hadn’t killed it
Before Borderlands The Pre-Sequel
- used the eye of the Destroyer to construct the Eye of Helios, a wave motion gun, with the intent on using it to commit genocide on Pandora (yeah just an FYI - building a giant laser powerful enough to nearly blow up the moon to target ‘bandit camps’ when Jack defines a bandit as anyone he doesn’t like - doesn’t make him look like a good person)
- briefly dated Moxxi, she dumped him when she realised what a sociopathic monster he was beneath his ‘nice guy hero’ facade (he also blew up her Underdome for this, though whether that was before or after the Pre-Sequel is left unclear)
- started hiring for body doubles, like Timothy Lawrence, who had their bodies reconstructed to be identical to his and bombs implanted in their faces to prevent tampering with the permanent alterations, and forcing said doubles to sign NDAs preventing them from even saying their own names
- begins mining Pandora for Eridium (and refining it - the Slag runoff from the refinement is used to charge the Eye of Helios), which reduces part of the landscape into a craggy wasteland spewing lava, volcanic ash constantly raining down (the Slag runoff of Eridium refinement is also just dumped all over the place, polluting the planet further)
this was all before Jack made his first chronological appearance
Borderlands The Pre-Sequel
okay here we go, Jack makes his chronological debut here
- loses his temper and murders the Meriff after the latter tries shooting him in the back and misses, yells “I was gonna let you live you dumb bastard, what is wrong with you?!” before commenting that it felt invigorating
- gonna just make a whole sub-thing for Felicity:
when Felicity starts having doubts during the ‘build a robot army’ plan, Jack dismisses her like he’s not even listening because he’s more focused on getting what he want, he then proceeds to casually threaten Gladstone Katoa (”By the way, last guy who double-crossed me's got nothing but a bunch of bullet holes and a stupid look on his face. Get me?”)
later when Felicity suggests just copying her because she’d find it much less terrifying than being uploaded to the Constructor, Jack asks her to clarify how much less terrifying - “It's the difference between brain surgery and being scanned.” - Jack just says he’ll ‘think about it’
Felicity complains that she doesn’t enjoy killing, he just waves that off by saying he doesn’t enjoy it either
he then orders Felicity’s mind wiped because copying her would take too long, offers a half-hearted apology when he says Elpis can’t wait, and then tells Gladstone to “Keep the military stuff, anything that can help us in a fight. Trash the rest.” Afterwards he doesn’t even care that he’s just had Felicity killed because he got his cool robot army
- ejects Gladstone and a couple other innocent scientists into space because one of the scientists still working in R&D might’ve been a traitor, so he killed all of them just to be sure (well he had his Vault Hunters do it but same diff) - what a hero. he then immediately tries to turn it around like he did everyone a favour - “Y'know, if I hadn't airlocked those scientists, one of 'em mighta turned those defenses back on just as you were walking through. Woulda fried you like a skag steak. Think on that.”
- this is the point in the story in TVHM where Athena admits she’d been suspecting she’d been working for the bad guy for a while
- kills Zarpedon because he gets bored of listening to her when she’s trying to explain what’s in the Vault on Elpis
- Moxxi tricks Jack and his Vault Hunters into blowing up the Eye of Helios, telling Jack she should’ve done it a long time ago because he’s a “power-hungry psychopath” - “I've been watching you, Jack. And behind that smile, behind that hero complex, there's something wrong about you. If you come down from Helios alive, a lot of decent people will live to regret it.” Jack screams that she, Lilith and Roland are no better than bandits because they destroyed an alien superweapon that he wanted to use (so i really don’t get why anyone was sympathising with him on this)
- Jack grows increasingly savage and unstable following this as the metaphorical mask starts slipping; ranting about how he’s going to ‘deal with them all’, threatens his boss just for asking for an update, then talking about how he wanted to use whatever’s in the Vault to kill Roland, Lilith, Moxxi and “all those sons of bitches”. he then loudly threatens Tassiter’s life after he calls to say he’s fired again (and like, okay, Tassiter’s an asshole, but he’s ‘dickhead boss’ asshole, he’s not ‘strangle you for talking shit, being in the same room or just for breathing’ asshole, which Jack is). it all comes to a head after he gets the treasure in the Vault and it shows him the Warrior and how to get to it (use Eridium to charge the Vault Key using a Siren as a catalyst), before Lilith punches the relic into his face, scarring him and destroying whatever restraint he had left - he plans to scorch Pandora in fire
- Jack makes good on his threat to Tassiter, strangling him to death and taking over Hyperion
- Claptastic Voyage - Jack sends his Vault Hunters after the H-source code that was buried in Claptrap’s virtual mind by Tassiter. full of access codes, prototype schematics and all sorts of Hyperion secrets. he uses it to destroy Claptrap’s product line and to add insult to injury, kills our Claptrap - who’d been retrofitted into a Vault Hunter. only reason he survived was the Shadowtrap (the true AI behind Vaulthunter.exe that Claptrap’s base AI overrides) keeping him functioning, his own incredibly robust chassis (as a result of being INAC and the Fragtrap) and Hammerlock finding him
Before Borderlands 2
in no particular order
- kidnapped Tannis and tortured her for days to make her give up the Vault Key
- started injecting the Eridium he’d refined into Angel to increase her power in order to charge the Vault Key faster - this also left her so reliant on Eridium that cutting off her supply would kill her in less than a minute
- started forcing his scientists to experiment on the population of Pandora (’bandits’), often by threatening and blackmailing them, like he did Dr Samuels by holding her wife hostage. this experimentation resulted in Psychos like Krieg, as well as other mutants
- the aforementioned experimentation also makes up Tiny Tina’s backstory - her family was taken there and while she escaped, her parents are dead or worse
- he destroyed New Haven, a central location from the first game, trying to flush Lilith out. Helena Pierce was forced to relocate her people to Sanctuary - she didn’t make it, and Jack made fun of her face scarring for good measure, and a number of New Haven citizens in the process
and a lot of others that i can’t remember the specifics on
Borderlands 2
oh jesus christ
- literally blows up a train to try and kill the Vault Hunters at the beginning of the game
you know what there’s just too much in BL2, i’ll just stick to the main ones
- captures Mordecai’s beloved companion Bloodwing, mutates the crap out of her and then blows her head off - later puts her decapitated corpse on display in his city Opportunity
- forces Angel to manipulate the new Vault Hunters into taking down Sanctuary’s shield so he can blow it up
- when Angel gets sick of him and communicates with the Vault Hunters against his orders to try and help them stop him, he starts torturing her
- kills Roland, steps over Angel’s body to gloat and then caps that off by capturing Lilith, hooking her up to Angel’s Eridium injectors and starts stabbing her because the Eridium makes her heal quicker
- summons the Warrior intent to kill everyone on Pandora so he can ‘civilise’ it
Tales from the Borderlands
- first thing he does is threaten to kill people
- second thing he does is to try and strangle Rhys
- everything following that is trying to manipulate Rhys into doing what he wants; he only cares about Rhys so far as he cares about his own continued existence (i mean he outright tries to kill Rhys as soon as he’s not in his cybernetics anymore)
- he actually becomes even more of a textbook abuser here, because he’s constantly trying to isolate Rhys from the others
- if Rhys trusts him, he’ll goad Athena into attacking Cassius, which he’s very excited about - and makes sense when you consider how she reacted to him killing Gladstone and those scientists on the possibility that one might be a traitor. he wants her to attack someone who had nothing to do with the order to kill her sister to make a hypocrite out of her
- nearly everything he says is a lie to manipulate Rhys; he never means a word of it and it’s always serving his own interests
- right up to the end he never accepts responsibility for his own heinous actions and is constantly pawning off blame and fault to others
and that’s not even nearly all of it. tl;dr, just cos a guy says he’s a hero, doesn’t mean he is one. actually, if someone has to point out what a great person they are all the time? that just means they’re full of shit

6 Weeks
Tumblr media
Title: 6 Weeks
Words: 1.4K
Pairing: Han (OC) / RM, tiny bit of Athena (OC) / Suga
Summary: Han has been hiding something from Namjoon for a couple of weeks, and with a little push from Athena, he finally decides to tell him.
A/N: This could technically be classified as mpreg, but he’s ftm transgender, so it’s not abo or whatever. Warning: mention of abortion.
As with most mornings when they had to wake up at 6 am and go in to work on the upcoming album, Namjoon woke up first. He was the morning person in the relationship, whilst Han slept through several alarms and Namjoon had to drag him out of bed. The rest of the producer line, which included Yoongi, Hoseok, and Jungkook, woke up around this time, and in order to allow Seokjin to continue sleeping without worrying about them feeding themselves, Yoongi would cook breakfast for the five of them; leaving leftovers for the other three who would sleep in until 10.
Arriving at the bighit building, they all went their separate ways into their own studios. Han’s studio, Millennium, was across the hall from Namjoon’s, Rkive. The two gave each other a quick peck on the lips before walking into their studios. For the past couple of weeks, Han’s mind hadn’t been completely focused on producing music, and mostly just played around with some of his old beats. Once he’d gotten bored of that, he’d go to Athena’s studio, Parthenon, to hang out and talk. Athena was the only person who knew about his dilemma; he hadn’t even talked to Namjoon about it yet.
Han had refused to accept it the first week he’d found out, and avoided it at all costs from then on. No matter how much Athena tried to get him to talk about, he always changed the subject, and eventually she’d stopped asking. Now, as the two of them sat in comfortable silence in her studio listening to music, he couldn’t take his mind off of it.
“Do you think I should tell him?” Han asked her, breaking his gaze from the wall above the desktop to look at her.
“I think you should stop thinking about it so much, you know what Namjoon-ah is like, so just tell him.”
“I do know what he’s like, that’s what I’m worried about. He’d blindly support any decision I make without first thinking about what he wants.”
“You don’t want to do it, do you?”
“I don’t know! This is our whole lives on the line, because I made a stupid mistake and now I don’t know how to fix it.”
“This isn’t something you can just fix, Han-ah. Even if you do decide to have an abortion, it’s not so easy for everyone; some people get out of there with emotional issues, because even though they knew they couldn’t go through with their pregnancies, they still wanted to have children. You need to be absolutely sure this is what you want, and that Namjoon knows about what both of you would be giving up. I may be pro-choice, but I know you, and I know how much you love Namjoon, and how much you want a family with him.”
“Ugh! I should’ve just had a hysterectomy when I had the chance!”
“Tell him!” Athena said, pulling Han off her couch, and pushing him out the door.
Han paced back and forth in front of the door to Namjoon’s studio. He had no clue how to tell his boyfriend of five years that he was six weeks pregnant with their child. Once he’d finally gathered up the courage, he knocked on the door, and hearing Namjoon’s voice telling him to go in, he took a deep breath and opened the door.
“Baby? What’s up?” Namjoon asked him, turning his chair around to face him.
“I... uh... need to talk to you about something. It’s important and I’ve been-” Han noticed the baby shoes displayed on top of the piano and was taken aback. “Why do you have those?”
“I bought them the other day; they’re cute, aren’t they?”
“You know?”
“Know what? What’s going on, Han-ah?” Namjoon said, reaching his hands out to take Han’s, but Han moved away from him.
“Namjoon, I need you to be completely honest with me right now, do you know?”
“If I don’t know what you think I know, then I don’t think I know what you think I know?”
“Joon-ah! Please, this has been so hard on me for the past two weeks. Athena-yah convinced me to come and tell you, but I need to know if you already know what I’m here about,” Han said, fighting back tears.
“I don’t know, baby,” Namjoon said, finally taking Han’s hands in his and pulling him closer to sit him on his lap.
“Joon-ah,” Han said, resting his chin on Namjoon’s head. “I’m pregnant.”
“What?” Namjoon asked, pulling back and looking up at Han.
“I’m pregnant; six weeks to be exact.”
“And you’ve known for two weeks?”
“Yes, I didn’t know what to do, or how to tell you. I’m sorry.”
“Hey, it’s alright; I understand. I’m just happy you told me,” Namjoon said, holding Han’s face in his hands and looking into his eyes.
“Do you want this?” Han asked, looking back into Namjoon’s eyes.
“Of course I want this; it may not be conventional considering our careers, but we’ll make it work. I want a family with you, Han-ah.”
“What if I get dysphoric and can’t go through with it?”
“Then I’ll support you if you want to terminate it. We could always adopt later on.”
“Sometimes I hate that you’re so understanding,” Han said, pulling Namjoon into a kiss.
“I know,” Namjoon says before pressing his lips to Han’s.
At lunch that day, Han and Namjoon ask the other members to come to Namjoon’s studio. Seokjin, Yoongi, and Hoseok sat on the couch, while Taehyung sat on the piano bench, and Jimin and Jungkook stood by the door. Han sat in Namjoon’s office chair and Namjoon stood beside him with his hand on Han’s shoulder.
“I know you all must be wondering what we called you in here for. There’s something we want to tell you, and it’s a pretty big deal,” Han started off.
The others listened patiently as he spoke.
“In about 8 months, there will be a new addition to the family,” Namjoon continued.
“Are we getting a new member?” Taehyung asked, confused.
“Something like that. I’m pregnant,” Han answered.
“That’s amazing! Congratulations!” Taehyung said, standing up to hug Han, who was taken aback by the reaction.
“Thanks, Taehyung-ah.”
The others all followed in wishing the couple congratulations, though Yoongi seemed a little quiet, and the least bit surprised.
“Why aren’t you surprised, hyung?” Han asked him.
“Athena told me a week ago; she can’t keep secrets from me,” Yoongi answered.
Han rolled his eyes, he should’ve known Athena would snitch to Yoongi.
“Hanie-hyung, when are you due?” Jimin asked.
“October 13th,” Han answered, smirking.
“Really?! The baby and I will have the same birthday?!” Jimin asked excitedly.
“Yes,” Han said, chuckling at Jimin’s reaction.
“How did this even happen?” Jungkook asked.
“Well, when two people love each other very much-” Seokjin began to say, but was cut off by Jungkook.
“I know that stuff! I just meant, when did you two have the time to get it on? We’ve been on tour and working on the album nonstop for the past two months,” Jungkook exclaimed.
“It was when we were in Singapore, on our day off.”
“I knew that was what you two were doing in your room all day! You didn’t even come out for food and ignored all our calls,” Hoseok said.
“Yeah, sorry about that. We hadn’t had a lot of time as a couple then and just needed some time to ourselves,” Namjoon responded.
“When are you telling Bang PD-nim?” Yoongi asked.
“I’ll call him and set up a time when we can talk. I don’t know when that’ll be though; he’s really busy these days with comebacks and TXT’s debut,” Han answered.
“Are you going to announce it publicly?” Seokjin asked.
“We want to, but not right now. It’ll probably be when I’m 12 weeks along, that’s when most people announce their pregnancies.”
“What’ll you do about performing? Will you go on hiatus until the baby comes?” Taehyung asked.
“I’ll perform sitting down like when we’re injured, though during the last trimester I’ll probably have to go on hiatus.”
“Are you two going to get married? I know you legally can’t, but you can still have a ceremony,” Jungkook asked.
“I don’t want to get married just because I’m pregnant, but if we both decide it’s the right time, then we will,” Han answered, looking up and smiling at Namjoon, who smiled back.
“Are you prepared for what people will say? Netizens can be really nasty,” Jimin asked.
“It can’t be worse than what they said when I came out, and if it is, I have a lot more people backing me up now than I did then. We’ll be fine. It’s us against the world,” Han said, placing his hand on his still-flat tummy.

The Great Ace Attorney Replay: Dual Destinies, Case 4
FINALLY found my 3DS again...time to dive into case 4
y’know, all the Department of Apollo backstory bits are very obviously thought up just for this game (same with SoJ), but I can’t really hold it against it considering Apollo’s OWN GAME didn’t give him any backstory. Childhood friends? Past? Reasons he became a lawyer? N/A! And hey, it worked. This game made Apollo shoot up in popularity in Japan.
Athena’s eternal struggle: trying to get Apollo to acknowledge he’s sad over whatever horrible tragedy the games have dropped on him this time only for him to be all “NO TIME FOR THAT GOTTA FOCUS ON THE TRIAL” no wonder he has a nervous breakdown
The judge is like “what’s with this weird bandage? r u trying to be edgy? Are you at that age now, Mr. Justice?” which cracks me up. YEAH I GUESS HE IS, YOUR HONOR.
I can’t remember whether this case makes an “Apollo-13″ pun or not but if it doesn’t, it should be ashamed. [Note from the future: IT DOESN’T. SHAME.]
Judge: I feel like I just lost 50 years off my life!
Athena:...does he even HAVE 50 years left?
Apollo: Inner monologue, Athena! Inner monologue!
everyone can hear it when you guys inner monologue anyway Apollo, so what the point.
When the bomb starts counting down Apollo’s all like “NO I CAN’T LEAVE THE TRUTH WILL BE LOST FOREVER” even though it totally won’t? WTF are you talking about Apollo? Fortunately Athena is there to literally drag him out of there while yelling “NOW IS NO TIME TO BE DRAMATIC YOU’RE GETTING OUT OF HERE” thank god for her. Unfortunately it isn’t enough bc Apollo notices Juniper and runs after her, the bomb goes off,  Apollo suffers YOU KNOW THE DRILL.
Back in the office with Phoenix, everyone stands there being sad about Apollo for a minute but then:
Athena: *sniffle* Mmmph! All right, enough of this people! This is no time to be moping around! Now dry those eyes, both of you!
Phoenix: Uh, you’re the only one who’s crying, Athena.
Athena: Technicalities! Look, we have work to do! We have to take over [Apollo’s case]!
I know I have yet to mention I adore Athena in this post so hey, I ADORE ATHENA. She will charge ahead all prepared to be tough and attack the enemy and yelling at other people not to mope all while sobbing her own eyes out bc she feels things so deeply and that combo of sensitivity and toughness and ridiculousness just REALLY HITS MY SWEET SPOT, she is a darling.
Athena: *takes off running prepared for battle*
Phoenix: I can always count on Athena to perk everyone up with her enthusiasm
*Athena runs back in*
Athena: Don’t mind me! Just forgot a few things! ...Wallet, phone, the documents, my bag...
Phoenix: I can always count on her for THAT too...
RELATABLE.
We head over to space center annnd
Athena: You bet! Let’s make it so!
*shakes head wearily*
Athena: I’m great at getting intel out of Detective Fulbright! Hmm, now what trick should I use today?
Phoenix: (I don’t know whether I should be grateful or afraid...)
YOU CAN BE BOTH, Phoenix
Athena says she’s going to hit him with the “oh no whatever shall I do? act and she means that very literally
Athena: There's an office on guard, and we can't get in. Oh, whatever shall we do?
ATHENA YOU’RE BARELY EVEN TRYING
More of Phoenix acknowledging Athena could definitely beat him up:
Phoenix: (Uh-oh. Athena has an odd glint in her eye... Is she thinking about trying that thing out? I should try to stop her... but I'm afraid she'll just out-muscle me!)
So honestly the whole “could a woman really defeat an opponent larger  than her” from SoJ is BAD CONTINUITY I mean it’s coming from a guy who has acknowledged several times that a woman 18 years younger and several inches shorter than him could physically best him I MEAN COME ON.
Anyway we meet cute robots, then we meet Aura who is all pointy and bitter- I like how Athena is clearly a little sad and scared of her, but gets angry enough to ignore that when Aura starts dissing the law and yells at her. The way their relationship was presented in this game wasn’t particularly interesting iirc (az called her “Lesbian Snape” and that’s probs accurate even tho my memories fuzzy) but this conversation shows there is some potential for interesting interaction there, with their conflicting values and the way they dealt with their distress over what happened to Simon and Metis very differently.
but never mind that, Apollo’s back! Even though he should really be in the hospital.
Apollo:  My own debut was a disaster...
THANKS TO A CERTAIN SOMEONE. *APOLLO GLARES POINTEDLY*
Phoenix: (I guess you're right on some level... That trial a year and a half ago wasn't exactly the smoothest of starts.)
Apollo: AND WHOSE FAULT WAS THAT
Apollo: That was a rough time for me
Apollo: what with finding out the guy i looked up to was just a loser hobo with no morals willing to manipulate me and-
Phoenix: OKAY I GET IT APOLLO
Apollo: Clay was there for me though even though NO ONE ELSE WAS
Phoenix: i find it weird you never mentioned him before now
Apollo: I was afraid you’d find some way to ruin his life too. But I guess now that he’s been brutally murdered even YOU can’t find a way to make it worse for him.
Phoenix: honestly Apollo why do you even work here if you feel like that
Apollo: oh yeah that reminds me! I quit!
AND THAT’S THAT. Athena actually wants to run after him and drag him back in as is her wont, but Phoenix stops her. I wonder what would have happened if she had gone after him. It’s possible he would have broken down and started screaming his suspicions at her. It would have been messy, but it also would have resolved everything a lot quicker. THANKS PHOENIX.
Anyway, it’s trial time and we go through the whole thing and...get a not-guilty for our client without finding the real killer? Like we just legitimately prove our client could not have possibly done it and that works?
I think this is the only time in the entire game series this happens, wow,
(I mean technically in the second case of the first game the suspect switched from Maya to Phoenix, but we didn’t get an official not guilty or anything- plus it was a case of the trial ending because another person was “proven” to be the killer, just like usual, it was just that the accusation was actually false.)
Anyway, of course, immediately after we get our not guilty, Athena is accused of being the killer, which leads into the next place. So really, it’s Capcom found a loophole- TWO CASE MURDER.
We’re at the grand finale here. Just this case and the DLC left. I’m so close to PLvsPW!
