I am LOVING this brainwashing shit, but I have to hand you: What if Kuroaku and Akari got yeeted to Hisui before shit REALLY got big with the Chaos Team's plans. Maybe just after people figured out that Kuroaku is Ingo and Akari is Dawn, for the extra hurt. Imagine dropping a whole ass evil team commander and his niece into ancient Sinnoh!! Especially if they're still separate at first. Imagine Kuro hearing about Akari, seeing her out in the wilds and just. Yelling her name and running to her.

Okay, so I raise you- Kuroaku gets amnesia, and Akari does not. She's found on Prelude Beach by Laventon, without any of her Pokemon on her. This is... not a good situation, definitely. She has no idea where she is, or how she got here, or where Uncle Kuro is. He fell with her, right? So for the moment she decides her best option is to play along with this... Professor Laventon he said his name was?

It's not so bad. There's a roof over her head, and food. She even gets paid! And all she has to do is fight catch Pokemon. Great! She loves fighting Pokemon! Definitely better than when she lived on the streets, which is definitely something that happened! Except she keeps getting flashes of stuff that tell her otherwise? She’s pretty sure she never knew her mom, so who is this woman that looks so much like her? Why does her heart hurt when she thinks about her?

Meanwhile Kuroaku is spat out in the Highlands, and wakes up with amnesia. He’s unable to recall anything but his name, but even that feels... strange. He’s certain it’s Kuro, and that he had some sort of important goal he was striving towards... but what was it again? He does have his Pokemon on him, and he immediately sets to figuring out where he is. He sees other humans, and spies on them for more information, but doesn’t show himself. He steals supplies from Melli, without ever encountering Melli. He manages to live in the Highlands for maybe three weeks on his own before he’s found by a strange tall Sneasel.

She takes one look at him, and before he can stop her, she’s shoving him in her basket and carrying him off somewhere. Oh, it’s some kind of nest. There’s a tent nearby, which is much better conditions than he had been living in previously. She points at the tent, and then points at the clutch of eggs. He thinks she’s saying she’ll let him live in it if he looks after her eggs? Fine. Fair deal. She seems strong anyways, and he respects that. Strength is important above all else.

(...is it? That sounds both wrong and right, but his head hurts when he thinks about it.)

Irida literally finds him there a few weeks later and realizes that somehow, Lady Sneasler found herself a Warden. Also this might be the guy who has been stealing supplies from Warden Melli for weeks now. He says his name is Kuro... probably. He has amnesia, and he thinks what he does remember is mixed up aside from that. The elders of the Pearl Clan recommend he should be removed by force- Lady Sneasler’s choice be damned, but when they send Gaeric to do it, he absolutely annihilates him in a Pokemon battle. Iridia’s pretty sure no one could make him leave if they tried.

Okay. Guess Lady Sneasler has a new Warden now.

Fanwalker update: Kimber

A rundown on Kimber!

- Originally from Eldraine/ GU/ Bisexual/ nonbinary (they/them pronouns)

- Despite their appearance, Kimber is actually a unicorn, who was irreversibly given human form due to a spell gone wrong that also resulted in their spark igniting. Kimber can revert back to their old form, but only when they are asleep/unconscious.

- Kimber used to be a noble unicorn that dutifully served a certain royal family due to an ancient agreement, whose dominion bordered a maliciously enchanted forest. It was Kimber's duty to keep the fairies and other mischievous magical creatures within their realm, and keep the kingdom safe. Unfortunately, Kimber was tricked into eating fruit that was enchanted by the fairies, that put them under a sleeping spell that lasted 100 years. When they awoke, there was no kingdom left to even protect. Destroyed by this, Kimber sought out the first mage they could find, demanding they help them forget their blunder, so they could live in unaware bliss. However, this mage was Ezin, a planeswalker with volatile, untrained magic, who accidentally turned them into something else entirely, as well as gave them total amnesia.

- Kimber is friends with both Ezin, as well as Grii, who they met when she passed through Eldraine during an emotionally turbulent pilgrimage across the multiverse. Kimber now stayes mostly around the plane of Kylem, mostly so they can be close to their girlfriend, Rix, a planebound azra who runs a popular tavern near Valor's Reach.

- Due to their unwavering friendship with Grii, Kimber has unfortunately gotten off on the wrong foot with Wren, Kuro and their daughter, Megumi, who Grii tormented in the past. This is especially awkward for Kimber, since Wren is Rix's ex.

- Kimber is immune to illusion magic and is a natural at lifting curses. They can also communicate with wild animals (not so much domestic ones).

- Kimber is a very dramatic, loud person, who enjoys grand, bold shows of affection for those they care about. Though very friendly, they are hardly promiscuous, and are extremely dedicated to those they offer their heart to. They are a staunch vegetarian and their favorite food is apples.

"Is everyone ready?" you whispered as you hide behind the couch. It was your best friend Kuro's birthday. Of course, you guys planned to surprise him at his house. Inviting all of his teammates, friends and classmates.

You can hear keys shuffling at the door, like someone is trying to find the right key to open the door. Everyone hides to their places and waited in anticipation. Kuro opened the door a bit annoyed because you didn't even bother to greet him for his birthday and when he asked you to go out, you declined.

Kuro found it a little weird that the front door was locked and even the lights in his house were turned off, even though his parents didn't mention anything about them leaving. But Kuro just shrugged it off and turned on the lights, planning to just sleep his annoyance away.

"Happy birthday!" everyone popped out of their places and greeted Kuro with a smile. Kuro got a little startled by their shout but smiled when he saw the all the people he loved in front of him. His smile widened when he saw the person holding the cake in their hands grinning widely at him, it was you.

You slowly approached Kuro, careful not to let go of the cake or trip over. You stopped, once you were in front of him. You looked up and met his gaze. The same loving and affectionate gaze mirroring yours. "Happy birthday! Make your wish!" you announced.

Kuro scanned the cake before closing his eyes. He opened his eyes after a couple of seconds and blew out the candle. Everyone cheered, probably because they know that it’s time to eat and that was the main reason they were here.

"Did you planned this all by yourself?" Kuro asked, taking the cake from your hand.

"Of course not," you admitted. "I got some help from Kenma and your parents," The both of you walked towards the table and Kuro placed the cake on it. Everyone started getting their own paper plates and serving themselves some food.

"Really Kenma?" Kuro questioned looking at the blonde haired boy sitting at the couch playing with his nintendo switch. You nodded, also looking at where Kuro's gaze was. "I guess he became quite fond of you." You became good friends with Kenma when Kuro introduced him. Kuro was your childhood best friend back in your old hometown, but he moved out in the middle of 3rd grade.

Your father got promoted and got assigned to a different branch of the company and that was in Tokyo. You hated the idea of moving out because it was hard to start over, meeting new people and introducing yourself seemed pretty hard for you, not to mention you were already a senior, you just have a year to spend in high school before graduating. So couldn’t they wait for you to graduate before moving out? You questioned. But you don’t have a choice so you transferred to your new school, Nekoma.

When you got into your new classroom, there you saw a very familiar person but he got a lot taller and more handsome than before. When he saw you, he gawked at you for a couple of minutes like he was trying to remember something. He hesitantly walked towards you and asked for your name. It was Kuro and that’s when you guys started to catch up and hang out more.

You found out that he was part of the boys’ volleyball club. Of course he tried to convince you to be their club manager, but you would always refuse because you don’t think you can do all of the responsibility a manager has and not to mention you also have school works to do.

The first time you watched their match, you couldn’t take your eyes off Kuro. The way he was so concentrated and focused on the game, the way he would tell his teammates what to do and not to do, the way he would block the spiker, the way he would try to save a ball, has he always looked this handsome you asked yourself. It was so mesmerizing.

"Y/N dear, can you get Kuro's presents upstairs?" Kuro's mother requested.

"Yes. I'll go get them," you willingly nodded.

"I'll go with you," Kuro stated. He placed his plate back on the table.

"No. Go have fun with your teammates, birthday boy," you slyly grinned. Kuro also grinned at the nickname you gave him.

You head upstairs and got a couple of gifts for Kuro to open, his parent's gifts, your gift and also some from his teammates. You placed all the gifts on the coffee table in the living room. You started to look for Kuro when you didn't see him and it was almost time for him to open his presents.

You saw Kuro standing in the front yard. You were about to call out his name, but you notice a girl in front of him. It was not just a girl, it was his ex. They were talking about something. You couldn’t see Kuro's face since his back was facing you. You met his ex’s eyes and you immediately looked away, trying to not look like a creep eavesdropping on their conversation. You felt your heartbeat stopped as Kuro’s ex leaned forward and they kissed.

Kuro was just as shocked as everyone when his ex-girlfriend suddenly popped up in his house. Everyone was aware that he likes Y/N and that there was nothing going on between him and his ex, so why is she here? Everyone questioned. He quickly grabbed her wrist and got her out of the house. He didn’t want Y/N to see him with her, mainly avoiding for you to get the wrong idea.

"What are you doing here?" Kuro deadpanned. Kuro's eyes widened when she suddenly hugged him. He grabbed both of her shoulder and pushed her away from him as possible. He wearily looked around, hoping no one saw that, especially you.

"I miss you. I know you miss me too," She purred. Kuro looked at her in disbelief.

"Uh no," He scoffed. "I've moved on," He proudly stated.

"Come on, Tetsu. I know you miss me," She insisted, walking closer to Kuro.

"What are you doing here? I don’t need you," Kuro retorted. He stepped back, keeping the distance between him and his ex.

"It's that person, isn't it? They took you away from me," She scowled.

"What? Y/N? They didn’t do anything," Kuro defended. "Did you have an amnesia or something? Let me remind you that, you cheated on me." Kuro didn't really care about her and what happened in the past between them. He moved on. He was happy and contented, by your side. He probably should tell you that sooner or later.

"It just a misunderstanding, Tetsu," She begged.

"A misunderstanding that you slept with him?" Kuro's patience was as thin as a thread. He shouldn't really be wasting his time with her. He wanted to spend his birthday with you. He noticed her gaze was something or someone behind him, "What are you looking at? I don’t really care. I'm not wasting my time with you anymore," He was about to turn around but she leaned towards his face and kissed him.

He quickly pushed her off of him, "What the- we're not together anymore! Will you stay away from me?" Kuro growled. He turned around and when he saw you standing at the door, his stomach dropped. Observing your reaction, he knew you saw everything. "Y/N, I- let me explain-" He had a hard time trying to find the right words to say to you.

"It's okay, Kuro. You don't have to explain anything. I'm happy for you," You said and faked a smiled. That was when Kuro knew how hurt you were. He was cursing at himself. How can he hurt you like this? How can he hurt the one he loved like this? He questioned himself. "Happy birthday."

You ran passed them. They got back together? Why didn’t he mention anything? More importantly, why are you feeling this way? You should be happy for him, right? You should be happy for your best friend? Do you like him this much? Do you love him this much that’s why you're feeling this sting in your heart? You should be happy for him since he finally has someone, but it was not you.

Kuro quickly ran after you, ignoring his ex-girlfriend calling him to come back and neglecting his guests at home. All he wanted to do right now is ran after you and explain everything to you and tell you how much you meant to him. "Y/N!" he called out, but you ignored him and kept running.

In no time he was able to catch up with you and stop you by holding your wrist. "Kuro, it’s fine," you obviously lied. Why would you be running away if it was fine, in the first place? He pulled you in for a hug. "What are you doing? Go back to your guests. It’s rude to leave your guests." But he only hugged you tighter.

"I don’t care about them. All I care about is the one I have in my arms right now," Kuro mumbled with so much affection. "I like you, Y/N."

You gasped, "I hate you! Stop! Stop playing with me!" your voice cracked at the last words you said. You didn’t even realize that you were crying, you just suddenly felt hot tears streaming down your cheeks.

"I'm not lying. Why do you think I kept on nagging you to be our manager, I wanted to be around, every day, every hour, every minute and every second," he muttered, as you started to hit his chest and he was just taking all of it, “Y/N Y/L/N, I like you!” he repeated a lot louder than the last one.

You stopped hitting his chest. You slid down from the hug. You buried your face in your knees and hugged them. Kuro squatted down and softly looked at you. "I ended everything that happened between us a long time ago," He was talking about him and his ex. "You're the one I like," He added. He scooted closer to you and hugged you again. He kissed your head and the both of you stayed in that position for a few minutes.

You stood up and looked at him, "I still hate you, my idiot," You tried your best to stifle a smile by biting your lips because of the name you called him, my idiot. He was a bit baffled by your sudden confidence but it was quickly replaced with a smirk.

He stood up and pulled you by your waist. He read your reaction and how flustered and rosy your cheeks were. He leaned towards you and kissed you passionately. At first you didn't response but when you returned the kiss, you felt Kuro smirk.

The both of you broke free from the kiss, breathless.

"Having you by my side, is the best present I got."

Oooh. Since you don't read Kuro manga, I'm curious if you know about That Famous Ciel Theory that got confirmed? If you do you'll get it, if not - I think you would really like to read the manga. It's honestly Hannibal-level comic planning and fascinating to read trough (though I'm way behind so I'm not sure how it's doing currently - but just the twist is worth it).

I’m an ardent fan of spoilers, so I try to keep track of what’s happening! If you mean Our Ciel and Real Ciel, then yes, I’m definitely aware of it)) I look forward to reading the manga once I’m done with my story. As for the twist itself, I have a mixed opinion on it. On the one hand, I understand that this is something that has been planned from the start, and I’m fascinated with foreshadowing as well as how this whole situation affected our Ciel. Haunted by the shadow of his brother, being doubly motivated to make himself count and to gain power and respect - this is brilliant.

But on the other hand, there are some plot arcs I really dislike in fiction. They include twins, amnesia, making-up-after-near-death-experience, and some others. Even when they are written well, I’m usually bored - these premises just don’t work for me. So I’m wondering how I’ll feel when I finally get there since the focus on twins is not my thing.

In today’s installment of Sekiro Makes Me Cry: respect, authority and mannerisms. As I said other times before, Sekiro is a story that is for the most part put together through its character building. The nature of these characters in itself and the differences and similarities we find between them are the key to uncovering its themes, messages and emotions. Authority, loyalty and respect are arguably the themes Sekiro hinges on plot-wise, and a lot of the human interaction we see is built on their variations. Above all, they are explored through the imposed vs. genuine dichotomy. When obedience and respect are demanded because of rigid codes or simple entitlement, they lead to disastrous consequences; when they are earned out of respect and love, they go far. What I appreciate most about Sekiro’s storytelling is its subtlety: the smallest gestures, even ones that are easily missed, send the deepest messages. The scene I am talking about is one of the most important examples of it. From the very beginning of his story, Wolf is primed to be a servant; for most of the game, he acts as one. He is extremely respectful and protective of Kuro both out of affection and as his bodyguard, but he never breaks the mannerisms of somebody who is inferior in rank. He kneels almost every time he speaks to Kuro, and does not stand up until they are done. Kuro himself remains very formal and adheres to the etiquette that is to be expected of him. However, because of both his personality and his higher position in rank, he is allowed to act with a lot more freedom. Despite his polite reticence, his emotions of care and concern for his shinobi show clearly. To be noted that, at the start of the game, Kuro offers Wolf his hand to no avail. This makes me believe that they used to be a lot less mindful of societal boundaries in their interaction. The trauma of amnesia, loss and separation in the three-year gap likely made Wolf revert to a more servant-like behavior. Now, we know how Wolf lived, and we know why he slips back into the role of a servant with such ease. To say Kuro doesn’t feel the same is probably the understatement of the century. Even with his composure, and the anguish and fear that come with his young age, he is far more skeptical of the concept of power and honor than most of the adult characters around him. Unfortunately, he is quite right to do so. Born to a noble family, with a target painted on his back, he has had to protect himself from liars, murderers and traitors since his consciousness began to form. From the in-game events, we know he already lost everything (Wolf included) to the thirst for power of other people. This is the reason why this scene is so meaningful. As he pleads his shinobi to help him break the Heritage, for the sake of them both, Kuro does something that never happens again: he gets on one knee himself, mirroring Wolf’s position. With this gesture, he isn’t just sending the message that he and Wolf are equals in his eyes, or that he is committed to protecting him and caring for him just the same way. He is saying all of this by mirroring his behavior. The first rule of communication is that, if you want to send a message to somebody, you have to do so in a language that they can understand; and Kuro does exactly that, with a simple gesture, in striking contrast with the mysterious double-talk Owl almost always speaks in. The way the strictest of conditioning gets broken is by being shown the alternative, as directly as possible. There is a reason why, after a lifetime of servitude and abuse, Wolf is able to start questioning things. There is a reason why he goes so quickly from expressing no opinions to turning his back on his entire past. The reason is Kuro -- his lifeline, his only concern, and the living example that things never had to remain that way forever.

Retrospective Thought: Top Ten Games of The Year 2019

Another year down and just on the horizon beckons another year into the light, and this year was a real wild ride for games. From triumphant returns ala Devil May Cry V to huge disasters ala Anthem. What is a defacto truth though; there’s plenty of great games that came out this year, and can only make us wonder what is brewing for the new start of a new decade. As we close out the 2010s and enter the 2020s, I think we should look back on the great games that came out in 2019. Obviously this is MY list of games that I LOVED playing this year, I haven’t played every game to ever come out this year so there’s bound to be a favourite or two of yours not on this list. I respect you either disagreeing or agreeing with me. So here goes, the Ten Games of the Year. Honourable Mentions: The Surge 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Blasphemous, Oninaki, My Friend Pedro, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3:The Black Order, Dusk Diver, Daemon X Machina, Death Stranding, MediEvil Remake, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

10) Plague Tale: Innocence(PS4/XBO/PC) This title is very much a sleeper hit in my opinion, a game published by Focus Home Interactive, who have been killing it in the “AA Experience” space of games with the likes of Styx, Greedfall, etc and Plague Tale, is a game worth checking out. You play as Amicia De Rune, who must protect her younger brother, Hugo, from Inquisition guards, villagers and a deadly swarm of plague carrying rats during 14th century France. The story slowly builds drama, tension and atmosphere with a fantastic setting that is surprisingly overlooked for more contemporary settings and locales, the idea of making Rats(for most of the game mind you) as this unstoppable almost “supernatural” force is both genius and frightening. Above all else the characters are well written, many parts believable and many parts relatable, you’ll be feeling their trials and tribulations as you go through the games 17 lengthy chapters. The gameplay is surprisingly both solid and janky at times; taking on a stealth system that mostly works well, you gradually gain a number of tools to deal with both human and vermin obstacles all the while with a small number of bosses that feel more like a mix of combat and puzzle solving. The game is worth picking up if you’re craving a smaller, less busywork heavy kinda game.

9) Astral Chain(Nintendo Switch) Platinum Games is one of my favourite Action Game developers currently in the industry; they make great combat systems with deep mechanics all the while adding more depth than you initially thought could possibly be able. While it’s not on the same level as NieR: Automata, Astral Chain continues the trend of Platinum Games nailing their signature style of gameplay; over the top whacky combat with anime as hell storytelling. This time you play a cop of a special police division that focuses on investigating the Astral Realm with your own Jojo-like Stand called a Legion. You’ll go on missions to battle these weird creatures, investigate the areas, even helping people and picking up litter(yeah, really) all the while slowly opening up your repertoire of Legions at your disposal. This is standard “Goofball anime nonsense mixed with badass tier combat and gameplay” that you either love or hate from Plat. While it’s not the deepest combat system out of their library, it is a rather interesting and fun premise with the combat focus being on the switching between Legions and their placement on the battlefield, the game offers its own level of depth, even if its a pond compared to the likes of Bayonetta 2 and NieR: Automata. If you want an anime as fuck, fun romp, Astral Chain is for you.

8) Code Vein(PS4/XBO/PC) The Soulsborne-like clone fad is a weird beast to look back on; while some heavy hitters have come out of it(NioH, Surge to some extent, hell Hollow Knight,Jedi Fallen Order) there’s been some real stinkers( Lords of The Fallen, again, Surge to some extent), it seems to have caught the industry hard as you could easily find at least one clone you’ll like and one you despise. Code Vein is a very weird Souls-like game in that it’s focus isn’t really a particular gameplay mechanic they introduce into it, or even how it offers “loot” but more on its focus on a narrative and characters. You play as a nameless revenant that wakes up with amnesia and a pretty white haired but barely clothed girl. It’s your duty to collect blood beads to keep your hunger sated. As you explore and push on the story opens up, introducing new characters and locales with a enough variety to keep you interested. Gameplay wise? Combat is solid, it’s admittedly very soulsy, so love it or hate it, that’s how it does things, plus you have the option of having a CP controlled companion with you on your journey to help alleviate some of the difficulty. Where the game shines in gameplay is it’s endless combinations and build opportunities, allowing you to really cater to a unique playstyle best suited for you or a more typically fantasy build if you so choose. Bosses, however are a huge mixed bag of good, bad and just outright frustrating. If you really want an Anime Souls-like, you would do yourself a huge disservice to miss out on this one.

7) Outer Worlds(PS4/XBO/PC) Obsidian Entertainment does a really good job on making some great RPG titles. From KOTOR2 to Fallout: New Vegas and even their own IPs like Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Outer Worlds is no exception among this collection. While the game is set in an alternative future, you are awakened by a mad scientist named Phineas Welles from cryosleep only to find that most of the passengers are still in hibernation aboard a colony ship. The game features several factions and a branching story that reacts to the player's choices. The writing is pretty damn great, witty and intriguing, something severely lacking in later day Fallout titles. Outer Worlds is pretty much a Fallout Game without the fallout licence only it builds from New Vegas’ strengths rather than let it get muddled down with Bethesda’s weaknesses. It even comes with it’s own take on the VATS system. The gameplay is solid, it’s just New Vegas but better, whilst in the grand scheme of things? It’s not the thing that will win you over in the long run. If you’re a Fallout Fan sick of the current trend Bethesda is in or whether you’re looking for a great Space Adventure, Outer Worlds is not the best choice, it’s Spacer’s Choice!

6) Greedfall(PS4/XBO/PC) Oh Spiders, Spiders, Spiders. This dev company has steadily grown strong from game to game. From it’s rocky beginnings with Of Orcs and Men and Bound by Flame to the almost good Technomancer, Spiders have, in my honest opinion, have found their major hit and boy has it been a hit for Focus Home Interactive. You begin as De Sardet, a human who’s sent with his cousin to govern newly discovered island, neutral in the varying factions and war that is happening all the while you seek to find out more about the this mysterious illness that plagues the De Sardet family, so that you can cure Greedfall, honestly, is such a weird game to come out in 2019 but one I do not regret having played at all. It’s reminiscent of old Bioware titles like Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age: Origins; the gameplay is solid and fun allowing you a nice enough variety to go deep as you want whilst having a rather engaging story and narrative that is populated with companions that all have very different opinions and often clash with one another’s. It feels like a game that should’ve been released back in 2010 from Bioware, in a good way obviously. While it’s not graphically impressive, the art style is really nice and the world is both intriguing and bleak. Worthy a look into if you’re seeking that old bioware-esque flair that’s seriously missing from Latter Day Bioware.

5) Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice(PS4/XBO/PC) One of my all time favourite games is a From Software developed title by the name of Bloodborne, which is also my all time favourite PS-Exclusive. My hype for Sekiro was almost reaching the moon since the teaser was shown back in 2018, a chance to travel to Japan with that Souls-like style if you will. Only it’s the least Souls games in the Souls style of games that is developed by the originators of the brand. The focus here, is less on builds, blocking and dodging and more about your posture, parrying and loadouts and the gameplay absolutely, masterfully services that to a T.The Bosses are some of the best in the series, almost better than Bloodborne’s roster, but with the addition of mini bosses that roster is pretty huge(for better or for worse). You take the role of Sekiro, a ninja who’s service is needed by Kuro, a bearer of the Dragon’s Heritage; power/curse that grants anyone they deem worthy with immortality, however, when they die and resurrect it runs the risk of infecting people with Dragon Rot. The more narrative focus is a nice change of pace in my opinion and with the added blend of japanese history with mythology giving it a rather rich and surprisingly lived in world. Sekiro is definitely worth getting if you fancy yourself more dueling style gameplay.

4) Judgment(PS4) Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios have become another of my favourite game devs in recent years. Their work on the Yakuza Franchise is a blessing for a revamping of a classic Adventure/Savage Beat’em’up Hybrid, though they’ve since become the most popular and one of very few to exist. Judgment is a sorta separate entity/spin-off to the mainline franchise but still somehow connected(Unlike the great Fist of The North Star: Lost Paradise title.) to the Yakuza story in a much smaller degree. You play as Yagami, a private detective who was once a renowned lawyer until he was disgraced by one his star client who went on to murder another victim despite being found innocent. That’s as much as I can say about the story since the game is essentially a Crime Drama/Mystery with a little bit of Yakuza DNA. The cast of characters are all great, the villains make you want to absolutely bring them down a peg and the good guys really makes you root for them to win and push through the struggles. As is with Yakuza, the meat and potatoes of the series, the gameplay, is on point. Continuing the savage Brawler system but extending it into a more personalised style for Yagami, with his own heat moves and skills to boot, it’s fantastic and absolutely a treat to pull off combats, especially switching between all three of the styles. The Boss battles are a sweet as all hell, especially Cane Guy, who’s probably the most anime as fuck character you face of against. Buy it if you love Yakuza and crave for more, or if you’re new to the style of games.

3) Resident Evil 2: Remake(PS4/XBO/PC) Survival Horror is a genre that seems to struggle, with the occasional surprise hit that everyone gets behind. With that in mind, Resident Evil 2 Remake is a fantastic survival horror game that brings back the franchise to its roots and redoing them with a great, brand new shine and paint. Resident Evil 2 Remake puts you in the shoes of Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy during the Racoon City Incident, while Claire searches for her brother and Leon goes to his first day on the job at RCPD, despite being told not, they must survive and avoid the monstrosities that roam the city, zombies, Lickers and the big bad Tyrant himself Mr X. A very nice remix of an old formula that gives it some new life, RE2R has impeccable atmosphere, tension and horror, half being brought to you via exploring and solving puzzles and the other half from Mr X himself who stalks you down with a purpose; to take out any survivors in Racoon City. Gameplay is super solid, and surprisingly does not make the game a pushover, solid shooting mechanics with some great puzzle mechanics and ofcourse exploration whilst not being an open world make this a title worth having in your collection. Whether you’re a survival horror fan, RE fan, Old Skool style RE fan, you’ll do yourself a massive disservice not picking this gem up.

2) Devil May Cry V(PS4/XBO/PC) Honestly, you can just call 2019 the Year of Capcom’s return to form, by nailing it with RE2, MHW in 2018 and obviously Iceborne later in year, it was only time that DMCV would come out between those mammoths titles. After the disastrous ReBoot, everyone including me too were sure that DMC was put back in the ice for good. That’s of course before DMCV’s triumphant teaser at E3. Devil May Cry V continues the story of Sparda’s progeny, Dante as he helps out returning upstart Nero and intriguing newcomer V as they take on the new Demon King; Urizen. This game is absolutely fantastic and I can’t fanboy over it enough. The story, while simple and easy to follow, has great character development and pacing, bring characters into their arcs in ups and downs that steadily build up to a final confrontation that just might be my new favourite boss battle of all time. The gameplay! The gameplay, is, to put it bluntly; absolutely sublime. From Dante’s weapon variety and DT craziness to Nero’s new gadgets in the form of his robotic arms to the weird Summoner-style gameplay of V, the game is its most diverse gameplay wise and not once feeling janky and sluggish at all. The Boss Battles are all fun and really bring something to the gameplay to both push and test you to your limit. Devil May Cry may just be one of my all time fave franchises and to see it return so triumphantly? Actually brings a tear to my eye. A must, must, MUST buy if I’ve ever played one.

1) Control(PS4/XBO/PC EGS Exclusive) Aaaah, Remedy, bringing such classics like Max Payne and Alan Wake into this world, Microsoft did you dirty with Quantum Break. So where did it leave them to go? To spiral into the weird worlds of Stephen King, Cosmic horror and the SCP Foundation for inspiration, to which Control is born, a phenomenal Third Person Shooter Metroidvania-esque game with a solid narrative and a beautiful visual and art design. You are Jesse Faden, a person of interest that has been searching for the Federal Bureau of Control since an incident with them when she was young had taken her brother. I really don’t want to say more than that, it’s better for you to experience the story for yourself. Narratively speaking? It has some great SCP-esque world building and lore with a solid to really good story that’s pacing 80% of the time really well. Gameplay and visuals with music are essentially where this game shines for me. Solid as hell shooting mechanics with some really badass powers helps to bring this game alive, but you don’t have all those powers from the get go, they are steadily paced throughout to make sure you’re not vastly overpowered or underpowered, it’s rather nice actually. Visuals and music are sublime, both together make for some truly memorable moments and areas. As stated, this is a Metroidvania and so has a lot of isms associated with that style; locked off area you’ll obviously return to with new powers to explore further, a semi-open world map, etc. I can’t sing this game’s praises enough, I think this might’ve just beaten out Alan Wake for my favourite Remedy game. Absolutely get this game NOW. So there’s my top ten list to round out 2019, a truly great year of great games. I’m honestly really excited to see what comes out in 2020, as it looks to be quite literally STACKED with potentially great(and shite) games. Hope you all had a spiffn’ new years, and here’s to 2020, let’s see what’s in store for us now!

AU where Ingo is so dad he somehow manages to have all his kids from the different AUs. Goes to Hisui right after Kuro steals his DNA to clone him. Marries Zisu and has kids. Baby Kuro and Akari getting yeeted through time with no memories and get adopted. The faller AU reunion happens. Emmet sees his brother for the first time in years and- THAT'S WHERE THE CLONES WENT?!

Ingo's power...

Ingo just sees a pair of children with no memories, one of whom very strongly resembles him and just decides to adopt them. Eliza and Emil have younger siblings now to dote on. Kuro doesn't know who this guy is and why he looks so much like him, but he SEEMS okay... even if Zisu is cooler. Meanwhile everyone else is speculating if Kuro is actually Ingo's kid, but they don't seem to know each other... but they both also have amnesia!!!

(and then there's Akari, who looks a lot like Dawn. Once is a coincidence, but twice???)

And lmao, Emmet arriving in the past with Eliza and then being introduced to her younger siblings and just realizing. What. What. Those are the clones. What are they- how did they get here???? Why are they so YOUNG????

Relation and Connection

Ari, Nerva and Caius are in a polycule. No one around them could really tell what kind of relationship they have, whether it’s romantic or platonic. They have been all together for a long time, live through many thing together, yet they couldn’t really tell you either, although it is clear they could die for each others.

The three of them took in Kadir when he was really young. At first the plan was just to keep him up until he was old enough to take care of himself, but they ended up getting attached to the younger demon (Ari first). Now the trhee elder are likes fathers to Kadir, and even if the younger bounty hunter lives on his own, they often sees each others.

Kadir and Tamir have a frenemy kind of relationship. Everything started as Kadir going after him for the bounty, but out of being unable to catch him he started chasing more. Tamir never had bad feeling for Kadir, finding it rather funny to annoy the other demon. As the time passed, Kadir started to appreciate him, although no one would catch him say such a thing aloud.

Tamir and Keir knows each other from often crossing each other path in the human realm. They ended up hanging out with each other, having some interest in common and also finding human funny and interesting. They will often helping in each other business, Tamir help the succubus to find interesting partner and Keir in the thievery the other does.

Kadir and Keir have some connection from both knowing and being close to Tamir. Sometime Kadir will ask help from Keir when looking for people, knowing he can find information quite easily.

Micha and Tamir met on one of the pickpocket travel to Europe, visiting Germany. He found the fallen angel’s bar by pure hazard, both feeling quite easily what the other was. Yet Micha did nothing, not caring much about it as long as he wasn’t causing problem in his bar. They wouldn’t go to say they are friends, but they still like having a chat with each others.

Micha and Cyrus have a unsure kind of relationship, the lines blurred. Micha found Cyrus when he was thrown from the angel realm with his wings missing. He took him in and kept him with him because of Cyrus amnesia, worried something bad might happen if he let him roam alone. They ended up growing close to one another, Cyrus really attached to Micha. Even with such a good relationship, Micha tries not to get too attached (too late for that) just in case Cyrus gets his memories back and doesn’t want to associate with a fallen.

Kuro and [N/A] are in a territory battle. Kuro as always caused problem to the Matsui twins, but he hates the idea of another demon trying to approach them, especially Ethan. The moment he learned about the other demon presence he tries to keep it far away from the twins. The other one hates him for keeping him at bay, trying to be a real nuisance to him.

Theòs and Vìgi first met when the death god needed some artefact giving him some power. He couldn’t find anything and went for demon, although the two race don’t appreciate each other in normal circumstance. Vìgi wasn’t minding it, as long as he was receiving some compensation. They have a semi professional relationship, as thing ended up with them being more friend than anything.
