#thinking a lawttt about how pyrite was described to be the same color as a peach a lot #the freckles as described in the id are supposed to make her look like the inside of a peach #she has scars all over her body bc she was enchanted to be really clumsy so i would imagine she would be constantly getting hurt by acciden #her feet [and other skywing feet] have a fifth toe on the back kinda like raptor claws that they use for balance and grabbing things #in winter turning the original pyrite[?] was described to have black eyes so i gave her really big pupils - #- that would probably make her eyes look black head-on #she has lil bear ears btw !! i think skywings and icewings have bear ears bc theyre smaller and wont get cold as easily . also theyre cute #i just thought the crest of spines would look cute but then i realized the resemblance to icewing spikes so i added them to the tail too #the antler horns looking like icewing reindeer horns also wasnt intentional i just wanted them to look unique - #- instead of the generic straight horns or curved i usually give skywings #i think ​she has quite a bit of icewing remnants left over despite the spell actually #like i would imagine her fire is weaker than the other skywings and would be a lot less hotter #she also instinctively isnt used to skywing proportions hence why shes sitting the way she is with her legs all weird and wings not closed #other than that shes rather boring and isnt very flamboyant bc i think scarlet would think she doesnt deserve it #i dont really have any other design notes everything was added last second or by complete accident gafksndkxk #I JUST REALIZED THE THUMB ON HER WING IS BACKWARDS . didn't want to put this rant in the tags of that last post but honestly i feel like a lot of people hate toshiro disproportionately compared to what he actually did in-story. and if we're being real it's most likely because of racism

#xyx.txt #because so much of his misunderstanding of laios comes from a cultural angle #and because his mannerisms are strongly coded as japanese especially relative to the other characters in the story #i think a lot of people's implicit biases have them reading this as an inherent and unchangeable aspect of his being #rather than being just one aspect of him that originates from a particular context and is fully changeable #like any other trait on anyone else. #part of this is just because of the fact that the story is told from laios and his party's perspective #but i think a lot of people's perspectives on him are probably informed by racism #not all east asians are quiet and polite. i know this myself as a kind of loud and awkward and easily excited east asian person myself #but generally cultural mannerisms from east asia tend to be more subdued overall than western ones #so it's. not uncommon. for western people to read east asians as being rude or cold or aloof just for behaving like this #the 'oriental inscrutability' moment... #like he doesn't need to 'get rid of the stick up his ass'. he just needs to not put such heavy expectations on other people #but yeah i think a lot of people are way more unsympathetic to him than they would have been if he were not so distinctly asian-coded #which is ironic! a lot of people being really mad at him for ableism specifically in the social expectations he holds of others #while applying the same kind of judgment to him but through the perspective of race instead of neurodivergence. suspicious. #blah blah blah it's because he's 'neurotypical' or whatever #predicting how some of you people would behave toward neurodivergent asian people and the outlook isn't good #also if we're on the subject of microaggressions. #laios repeatedly and insistently calling him 'shuro' to the point that everyone else calls him that too #that's not 'funny autism bad with names' moment that's a racist microaggression #someone misnaming me because of my distinctly ethnic/foreign-sounding name doesn't automatically become funny and relatable #just because you're neurodivergent lol #can we maybe have more empathy toward characters and people of color in fandom #instead of always using them as punching bag side character trope #thanks.

i finally finished alternate outfit designs for my ocs :) well these five at least lol

#finn's ocs #i think tumblr sort of made the drawings a bit blurrier so its harder to see some details like saiphs scars or miras stretch marks... sad! #hopefully clicking on it solves that? #anyway i ended up doing the pjs after all bc i figured messy hair would be fun to do #and if i was going to put saiph in underpants anyway it would be funny to do like. the cartoon heart boxers but w fire lol #the formal looks were fun to do though. you can tell al's is like totally inspired by utena's look in aou #there are for sure through lines i wanted to keep w all their outfits like in general #aside from just keeping the same colors and general style #like mira always has like a cold shoulder look and tends to have somekind of asymmetry towards the bottom #except for her formal look for the latter #saiph always wears those wrist things no mater what. also he always has somekinda flame pattern #polaris either has snowflakes stars or compasses ofc. and if she has somekinda skirt the red will be Under it #bella has the same skull design on her bows. except for the pj look where now the skull itself is wearing a bow #and al has the stars on the strings and mismatched shoes #the most similar outfits are the summer/spring and winter/fall ones #those are pretty much default outfits so thats why #and their hairstyles in the winter/fall looks are like just slightly longer versions of their summer/spring styles #they dont really change hairstyles for the beach and pjs aside from the long haired characters pulling them up different #or putting them down for the pjs look. in bellas case #their formal look probably has the most difference in hairstyle. like theyre not just grown out or pulled back #theyre like actually styled different #these arent their final looks btw there are like completely different timeskip designs too but like #id have to use different bases for those probably. there would be changes LOL #but yeah :) #finn's art #forgor that one

you know what i just realized that makes me very, very sad for humanity in the good omens universe? that heaven doesn't care about them anymore. at all. like? hell cared enough to send at least one new representative to keep up with them but heaven just kept planning how to destroy everything. and it's so sad to me because all those centuries of stories and worship had to come from somewhere. like at some point the love and care had to be mutual and it had to be strong enough to carry for so long even with other names and through other mythologies. but now they don't even care. like What Happened to Them. did god's silence and neglect wear on them so harshly that to cope they started abandoning and neglecting humans too? :(

I'm really mad about how my university is handling the heat wave - or rather, not handling it. They haven't sent out any notices or warnings. They haven't told people what safety precautions they should be taking. They are flat-out refusing to acknowledge this as a public safety risk.

EXTREME HEAT IS A SAFETY RISK! Heat related illness can KILL PEOPLE!
