my thing about izaya is that he's so strange and weird and i love that so much. i didn't want to ramble too much in the notes of that poor person's post but i find the way he speaks and the words he chooses so interesting so let me ramble a little bit. this may or may not even be coherent so bear with me here im just going to speak my thoughts.
ok this got really fucking long and all over the 0place so im putting this under a read more sorry.
so i have volume 9 of the novel in both english and japanese. i only have two novels in japanese and that is this one and yuuyake wo. so i'm pretty crazy about this izaya speech analysis shit. anyways i was rereading thru the jp ver the other day just to compare it to the eng and i kinda realized that like.
a lot of people you can separate their speech in either formal and informal speech right? someone like shizuo speaks really informally and uses a lot of rough, dragged-out versions of words and stuff (しゃーねえ vs しょうがない) and then someone like shinra who speaks in a ton of yojijukugo and generally sounds like a nerd emoji gijinka.
izaya on the other hand rly... doesn't fit in either? i mean sure he sounds like another nerd emoji gijinka but it's kinda different. it's not so much the words he speaks but rather the intonation and his tone...
and he has his moments where he speaks pretty seriously and whatnot of course, but in general he just... doesn't sound very human when he speaks? i don't know if that's a conscious effort or not. is it his attempts at distancing himself from his own individual humanity? or is it just because he's a weird guy? i dunno. but it's interesting nonetheless.
one thing i will note though is that despite his somewhat inhuman speech patterns, it's also pretty...dramatic? to the extent where it's really exaggerated but also very cute and charming. (this part is important.)
i think a lot of what makes izaya's speech so weirdly inhuman is because he doesn't really use a lot of slang or similar lingo that people his age would typically use. i know mikado said in the novels that he doesn't really try to fit in with his age group's fashion sense either so it makes sense but still. he's like an old hag it's so funny. and it's because of that that when he says stuff like 'i don't get all hot and heavy over headless women' or whatever he said to celty it's really amusing to me because like... why is the strange man saying this?💀
another example i kinda giggled about on my twitter when i read it it's not even crazy and i sound corny and cheesy and stupid but theres this scene in vol 9 where izaya messages celty for business and hold on let me just put it as a quote.
he sounds so old saying 'video game' like 😭 idk it's just funny cause he barely even knows anything abt games like bro knows nothing im crying
in the jp hes like 「…ゲーム中なのかい？」 and then when celty tries to explain herself he says 「何を言ってるのか、良く解らないんだけど」 and im rly bad at tling parts of sentences and stuff but just know that the way he words it makes it sound like this gif to me
i love both versions i think the original jp makes him sound like hes so lost and confused (hence why pw gif cause lord that man always looks lost LMFAOOOO) and then eng tl just blunt ass "I don't know what you're talking about." makes him sound like full on hag 😭😭😭

first i think it's funny the translation has izaya say fuck here cause he very rarely swears and i did read this one thing about how he only swears when his mask slips so to me this is like genuine bewilderment that he cant even hide LOL. second why is he so excited to hear about 'whatever sexual fetish' shinra has im crying he's so damn nosy . okay but this is not the funniest part let me add that now.

oh also another scene i think is really cute and amusing and funny is back when shinra was first still trying to get izaya to form the bio club w him.
1. shinra is funny as fuck in this scene but also izaya's "Hmm. Can I punch you?" made me havbe a good laugh. in the jp he says 「んー。殴ってもいいのかな？」 which is pretty much the same thing just with the intonation of like 'hmmmmmmmmm should i hit u or not...' sorry like i said im just bad w explaining this stuff. but i felt the need to point it out not cause im one of those annoying ppl who praise the original jp ver and reject translations and localizations i just think it's important for izaya specifically cause i love him and i want to analyze his speech patterns as best as i can.
i was going thru the novel just now for other stuff i wanted to mention and i forgot abt this part but it's so funny.
'Let's not get hasty. Type calmly, please.' its not even funny or nothing i just find it so amusinf whenever he talks like that💀 i will say though the english translation kind of makes him sound more weird and inhuman than the original. that line in the original was basically just him telling her she needs to calm down enough to at least type properly LOL. idk if im just being nitpicky cause this is izaya tho so feel free to ignore that. fwiw i like the eng tl bc while it's a different intonation than the original japanese ver i think if he did speak english it would probably sound smth like that anyways.
this too made me laugh like ??? seriously he is really nosy when it comes to people's intimate affairs. in the jp ver he calls them an 'intimate couple' which just is like .. ok bro💀
does anyone else see my vision of izaya getting cucked by celty (does it count as cucking when celtys the one dating shinra) while he looks sad and pathetic and miserable that he never decided to shoot his shot w shinra back in the day
if i were commenting on the actual stuff going on in this scene rn this post would be a lot olonger and even more terribly all over the place so im just gonna focus on how i think it's funny izaya says 'easy, man...' this is like one of the only times his words are somewhat natural and sound like smth you would hear someone else say. in the jp ver it's 「おいおい…」 which is somewhat less out of left field in terms of coming from izaya but still it's pretty surprisingly normal. i have to wonder if in that moment he's too worried about shinra to care about keeping up appearances.
this is just random and me making fun of izaya as usual but why the hell does he weigh himself after his showers💀💀💀 it's cute and endearing and only adds to his strong gap moe but still... it's strange...
speaking of cute things this is from a volume i forget but he says this one phrase a couple of times and it is just both really cute and also kind of idk... saddening. one of the times i can remember he says it is when namie was making fun of him or something and he replies 'Don't tease me. I'm only human.' or something along those lines and it's like . hm. ok.
i think it's cute he says 'dont tease me' a few times cause eughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh (trying to ward off severe brain damaged incoherent thoughts) but 'im only human' is like... are you really? even after you try so hard to escape your own humanity and individual self so much... im going to try and give my thoughts on it here but this is just based off my hc that izaya has bpd so yanno. im basing a lot oif this on my own experiences sorry. i do that a lot. (gestures over to all the posts i make abt fob/mychem fan izaya)
when it comes to just straight up acknowledging his humanity izaya has no problems with this because 'sure, i'm human. isn't that obvious?' is probably something along the lines of what he thinks. it's easy for him to just say that because it's just that. it's just words. it holds no real meaning and shows no true insight into how he actually perceives himself. but when it comes to actually having to come face to face with his own humanity and the fact that yes, he is only human, it's a lot more difficult because now it's out of his control. i wonder also if he has problems with perceiving his own self.
i say this a lot but i truly do believe izaya is so so so beautiful and i love him so much. also i just saw a funny post on twitter so i wanna say this here idk if yall know this but izayas actually a latina hes got chismosavirus❤ ok thats all i have to say sorry for rambling so much

Do you know about the Marchil h-doujin, just called "Marchil Meshi"? (Dunno wether you're comfortable about adult content regarding the ship. If not, sorry and feel free to ignore).
Imagine my surprise… When a few months ago, I was looking up places to buy doujins for dunmeshi online bc of that new-ish laimar (sfw) doujin and I find, many many nsfw ones bUT AMONGST THE HORDE… MARCHIL MESHI. I ate it up. It’s a lil iconic to me ngl, I quote it in my head sometimes. Marcille angrily gesturing always gets me cackling. It honestly has no business being this good, it was made pretty early on in the story so many years ago, and STILL! So in character, and honestly so funny, AND no weird business either.
Like listen, I scour the internet, looking for any marchil content, any marchil content at all… And find a dry af desert, no life here, literally jackshit nothing. y'all it is hyperfocus scream time
Alright so sporadic Arknights posting is cool and all, but tumble here is THE website for info dumping your weird fascinations unto the world. I worry enough about being annoying or overbearing all the damn time, so fuck it, it's time to scream about something I love.
I've always loved music, and I'm fascinated by splitting it apart and studying it, figuring out what makes things tick. One of my favorite ways to do this is via stems-- that is, when a fully mastered track is broken down into audio files for separate instruments or parts: vocals, drums, bass, guitar, synths, all that. This way you get to hear all the lil intricacies you might've otherwise missed! Unfortunately most music out there doesn't have stems just lying around, but sometimes we're graced with the next best thing: instrumentals.
There's a lot to it but TL;DR, we can pull some fancy phase shenanigans between a full and instrumental version of a track to isolate the vocals! It's not perfect, there'll be bits of the full mix poking through, but it's enough to catch some cool things you might not have otherwise heard.
Buckle up bitches, cause I'm gonna take you for a ride. Today I'm gonna take you through some of the intricacies of one stellar vocal performance: Suisei's TEMPLATE.

Let's get started!
In fear of the boundless wrath of the copyright gods, I don't wanna post any bits of the og or instrumental raw, so I'll reference parts in the original with timestamps like this (0:00)! I highly recommend you first listen to the song in full, then reference the noted segments in the og as we go through the audio examples. I really want you to appreciate how cool this all is xD
To give you an idea of what our instrumental phase cancelling sounds like, here's a short bit from verse one (0:15 - 0:25)
Neat, huh? Already we're hearing the slightest touch of reverb that mostly gets buried in the full mix. It's subtle, but it gives a sense of depth and space that'd be noticeable if missing. As far as performance goes, I love the tension of power in this, the swell of intensity followed by reeling it back in. It's subtle at first but it really evolves as the song progresses. Let's dive a bit further.
Here's the vocals for the first chorus (0:34 - 0:59)
Alright now we've got some interesting stuff going on. I wanna stress here that Suisei is a phenomenal vocalist, and the sense of careful control over power and projection she's got starts to show here. Specific syllables are thrown out like a gut punch, and just as quickly retract in this delicate weaving of intensity, and it is so goddamn cool.
We also get to hear some harmonies that accompany the lead vocals, but they're still a bit buried under that lead. What if I told you there's a way we could further isolate those?
Another technical TL;DR but in addition to left and right, we can also split stereo audio into mid and sides. Most modern mixed music will have lead vocals straight up the center, while backing harmonies are either doubled or effected to trickle out to the sides, to give that lead room to breathe. So what does this same chorus sound like if we listen to just the sides?
Okay so right off the bat we hear this harmony that has a graceful snap upwards to its last note. To my extremely limited jp knowledge it's something like:
Boku wa zutto kurushi kattan da
That kattan da harmony is beautiful in its own right, and it's not something you get to hear on its own. (also if u know better than me plz correct me if i'm wrong on that jp for the love of god)
And after that? It turns out the whole chorus has a layer underneath that's sung an octave below the lead. Like. Holy shit. To my limited knowledge I don't know if we ever get to hear Suisei sing this low in isolation, so this is wild to hear on its own. Her tone and inflection is way different here. Notice the power and projection isn't really there, how it's a bit more lowkey? It doesn't get in the way of the powerful lead, and helps round out the bottom end into a wall of sound when combined. You don't notice it much in the full track, but you'd definitely notice its absence.
See, often with music I do this hyperfixation thing where I latch onto the tiniest details imaginable and listen to them over and over again, just to appreciate how enormously fucking cool they are. This low octave chorus is no exception. I heard it when first listening to the full track, but it was awesome to finally hear it in (relative) isolation.
...when excitedly showing this all to some friends, one of them said "gubs you are so fucking down bad." And you know what? She was goddamned right.
Moving onto something a lil smaller, there's an additional higher octave for a moment in verse two (1:11 - 1:15)
And the same thing with the sides isolated:
Simple things like this really help add texture and dynamics to a performance. A harmony that persists for an entire song is often more boring than having it weave in and out! It's especially effective in helping to emphasize certain lyrical bits.
The 2nd chorus has different lyrics, but from an arrangement standpoint it's mostly the same as the first. Let's fast forward to the start of the bridge (1:42 - 2:01):
This part isn't particularly buried underneath the mix, but I thought it was worth isolating anyway. I really want to point out how beautiful the additional higher melody is in the second half.
Alright, it's time for one of my favorite parts of this track.
Let's take a listen to the latter part of the bridge (2:10 - 2:20):
...do you hear that? Do you fucking hear that?? There is something incredible in here. Let's isolate it.
That last line, with the lead taken out of the mix, has not only a harmony sung an octave above, but also an octave below.
Holy fuck.
Okay.
I need you to understand.
Being able to sing the same line in 3!! THREE!!! Different octaves! IS FUCKING WILD.
For fuck's sake the melody line itself nearly spans an octave in range!?
God. My fucking god. I'm sorry for losing my shit over this (not sorry at all) but this demonstrates an incredibly flexible range, and that is not something you'll hear flexed quite as hard as it is here. I've only heard a handful of examples of this sort of thing before. I adore this shit so much. I am such a gay fucking loser oh my g od
*ahem* alright let's wrap this up by listening to this fantastic outro segment (2:42 - 3:01):
Personally I tend to dislike when a slowed, half-tempo chorus is replaced by/followed with a full-speed section in an effort to ramp up intensity. Speed doesn't equate to power, and if anything, I feel that a slower feel is often more methodical and powerful. But here? The chorus to this song is sublime, and it feels like all three have been building up this boiling tension that finally explodes in this segment. It's so fucking good. And while she still demonstrates a more than competent grasp on how to project and emphasize, Suisei gets to let lose and go all out here.
And for funsies, here's the backing harmony behind that whole segment:
I love shit like this. I cannot sing to save my life (god i wish i could) but over the years I've picked up a lot on how different vocalists construct their backing harmonies. It's not something most people think about, but carefully crafted layered vocals can really enhance, emphasize, and expand on a performance. They add so so much color and personality to an artist's style.

New webzine, a new trans-centric erotica publication, and a bunch of new pieces from me!

So simplest things first, I set up a TikTok! I'm hoping to keep uploading clips from my comedy gigs to Instagram and TikTok respectively.
I'm on the line-up at a comedy gig tomorrow night in Athlone if you're in the West of Ireland and you'd like to come along! The gig is at The Brazen Monkey, and the show is gonna start at 8:30PM.
You can get tickets online here for €10 plus the booking fee, and tickets will be €15 on the door.
There's also a new comedy night run by Black Crow Comedy here in Galway - it's an open mic intended for women and queer and nonbinary comedians, and it's at 9pm on Wednesday the 5th July in Aras na nGael.
This event is to raise money for Galway Pride, with tickets at €3, and I'm super excited about more marginalised comics having a dedicated space here in the city.
Anyway, out this week was Issue 103 of the Shousetsu Bang*Bang!
The SBB is an online webzine centred around original queer erotic fiction, and it's been running for nearly 18 years - I was so excited to be a part of this issue with my new novella, Fallen Dust, but I absolutely recommend going through the whole of the issue and reading every story. There's over 160,000 words of queer fiction in this issue, and mine is just 14k of that!
I've also set up a new publication called Trans Erotica, which is a Medium publication centred around trans and nonbinary creators.
If you're trans or nonbinary and you write erotica or erotic fiction, absolutely check it out - the characters in the work don't have to be trans or nonbinary themselves, so long as you are!

(After looking into it, I discovered that Kazehaya-senpai's already debuted as a Special Student idol, and he seems to be crazy popular.)

You sit down all these tormented Non-Specials right before they think to end their suffering and send themselves off to actual Heaven, and hold 'em back from acting on it.
Even though all I do is live next to this, just the thought of it makes me feel like I'm a part of something noble — and you know what? Somehow, I'm grateful for it.

Yeah, you heard it here first, Cloud Strife is apparently English and somebody summoning KotR in their gameplay is a "secret ultimate ending" and not just somebody using the materia in the game.

Kingdom Hearts is not canon to ffvii. It just isn't. It's not the "canon game for a summon" and are you out of your fucking mind for thinking Kingdom Hearts is making some canonical link between a summon and Disney's Sword in the Stone?! Jfc this is already sounding crazy af 🤦♀️
No. There's no "secret ending" to ffvii. You chose a playthrough with a player summoning KotR. Literally every player can do that. Unless they're like you and never played the damn game, you insane carrot. I'm gonna assume you think ffxv's ending where Noctis calls up the kings of yore to defeat Ardyn, which has been confirmed as a callback to ffvii's KotR but at no point did anybody say the endings were identical or that KotR is a mandatory or secret speshul ending appearance. Cloud, at no point in KH, is ever intending to or looking for king Arthur. He is always searching for Sephiroth so they can settle their shit. He never becomes a KotR. Again, you're confusing ffxv with other games. Noctis's father becomes a King of Yore at the end of ffxv and helps defeat Ardyn. I mean, if you can't keep basic plotlines straight why are you even talking in the first place?
Show me where Cloud's an "Englishman"? Show me where England and Germany are on the map of the planet. He's no more English than he is German and you need to stop listening to that nutbar Calli and her made up garbage based on her own HC fap material. King Arthur wasn't a real person, dumdum. Plz don't talk about English history if you haven't ever learned it in school.
Strife isn't a last name. It's a bloody noun. And Strauss is the German word for ostrich.

Kh isn't canon to ffvii or the KotR. Kh1 and 2 leaned heavily on squareenix to grab a player base and build its following. Once kh became established in its own right they began to phase out the FF cameos because the characters aren't needed to keep real players interested in the plot. You aren't a real player, so shut up.
You're an idiot who can't accept an in game email talking about things characters have seen and done isn't canon compared to WoFF, another game that isn't canon to ffvii.
Again: WoFF is not canon to ffvii. Serah isn't married at the point her character appears. Zack isn't with Aerith. He's a soldier 2nd class. I know it's hard for your small brain to comprehend but SE takes characters from different points in their own lives to mix and match in cameos for fanservice. Cloud appears in multiple titles as OG soldier Cloud and post AC Cloud. Tifa appears in WoFF as cowgirl Tifa at age 15 before she's traumatized. Get a fucking clue.
Again: Zack is single at that point in his life.
Aerith is lying and sucking as much copium as y'all do. The translation is also shit in OG because she doesn't call him a ladies man in JP, she says he's a friendly guy.
Idky you think kh, WoFF and KotR are some weird ass "canon" link that proves your garbage ship or disproves Zack is a decent guy, but you need to shut up.

The localisation for 3H is just so… weird. In some cases, they took a certain stance and in others… they didn't properly read the original text?
Take for example Ingrid and Dedue's C support:
JP:
Dedue: ……そうか。悪かったな。(I see. My apologies)
Ingrid: ………………。 ……いえ。(No…/ No, that's…)
EN:
Dedue: My apologies.
Ingrid: Your apologies are empty.
So, in the original text, she realised that she went a bit too far but in the localisation, she double-downs and only after that does she apologises. It's just so bizarre.
The other support chain that comes to mind is Felix and Dorothea's C support:
JP:
Felix: 腹が減っているなら一人で食べろ。 俺にごちゃごちゃと話しかけるな。(If you're hungry, go eat by yourself. Don't yap at me.)
EN:
Felix: When I am hungry, I will eat. Alone. Stop squawking at me.
The main difference here lies in 食べる (taberu) vs 食べろ(tabero). The former is the non-past form of the verb 'to eat' (I eat, I'll eat, you eat, they'll eat, etc) and the latter… is an order. Felix is telling her to fuck off and eat by herself, not that he'll eat alone. So Dorothea's reaction is more natural in the original text.
I'm probably just nitpicking here, considering how worse the localisation can get elsewhere, but still, it's annoying.
(Side note: I'm not a native English speaker, so I apologise if the way I've translated these bits is off.)

While this is more nitpicking than the Ingrid one, I always try to wonder and think why those things were altered, is there a reason like it didn't sound right, or wouldn't be acceptable for english audiences, or is it something else?
With all the lolcalisation we see in the game, at times, it's pretty obvious the "something else" wins - but it's sad because... well, in Ingrid's case, she knows and realises her resentment is pointless and she feels guilty for having those thoughts regarding the people of Duscur, but as of now, she cannot shake them off (think about how Reyson sees humans, even if they help him, and later trusts them more when Ike'n'gang rescue Leanne).
As for Felix, maybe they wanted to tone down his, uh, Felix-ness at Dorothea, maybe because Doro was a fave, or because Felix would be considered to be "too assholish" if he told her to fuck off, idk...

do you think he’ll come back? and tour again?
yes, absolutely. he loves it a lot. he loves it so much that he accepted to do the horrendous residencies. but it'll be a while... i hope it is a while. i think he'll do shows here and there, but a world tour? mmm. i'm guessing 2025. but maybe 2026. everyones knows 1D is touring in 2025 (HAHAHAHSGAHSA).
also, i'll use this post to... vent? rant? ramble? idk. but... love on tour has been a fucking emotional ride. tonight's show was so beautiful and special, and made me remember the great things i've experienced thanks to it... like, meeting one of my closest friends in real life a year after we met online through this fandom, at harry's show in sweden, was one of the highlights of my life. it was my first time seeing harry with a friend who loved him like i do and i will always cherish that day and the fun we had and how close we were (kitchen/jp forever, bitches). like, experiencing harryween with another close friend is also high on the list. like, going all out for kiwi with harry in the same room is to this day one of the most cathartic and joyful experiences i've had in my life, and i'll brag that i did it 7 times having only been to 5 shows, because, yes, i did live through thriwi. like, listening to harry's voice live is so so so beautiful and i will be waiting for the next time i get to do that again. like, singing wmyb with harry is one of the highlights of tour. every show. i mean, it's only the best song of his entire life, he said it himself.
but as there have been many good things, there have also been many meh things, in my experience... like, the shows i attended by myself in 2021 were NOT welcoming. sure, there was still a pandemic, etc etc, but the vibes were not great, and i had to put myself in an imaginary bubble and believe it was only me and harry, forget the rest and go hard to every song. like, the awful hateful comments and words i've heard/read by some fans towards other fans the past two years have been absolutely disappointing and horrifying, and i know that's what you pay when your audience grows, etc, but yikes, sometimes it sucks to be piled up with the same group of people. like, the fact that it was very obvious to me that harry didn't want the 2021 leg to happen (this is speculation, of course i don't know what harry thought). like, the fans that kept bringing disrespectful signs to his shows. if you wouldn't say that to a stranger you just met, why would you do that with harry? like, the residency shows in the us. i won't even elaborate further on that.
anyway, that's a lot of rambling. my brain loves having the sides? nuances? of everything, for some weird and annoying reason. but trust that i was an absolute puddle tonight, especially after harry's speech about us, because, yes, all the good things outweigh the bad ones. and i got you all and my friends, who love harry for who he is, and i hope more of his fans see that, and i hope there's more kindness and understanding on his next tour. whenever that might be.
so long, love on tour. you were... something! thanks for all the experiences!

Can you review Would You by BT21?! lol So hybe does know cover coded lyrics videos, why don't they make some for bts? Also, the lyrics is kinda fun? The bilingual (tri including Jp ver) word play is on point imo. lol I was wondering if you could talk about what makes one's rap sound good. As someone who's not familiar, I can only say that how the rap line/kendrick/minaj/cardi/megan raps 'sound' good when they rap. Whereas bt21's rap reminds me of jin's angry fast talk (I'm not down +

Let's talk about rap music first before getting into the joy that is BT21. I could explain this in text but as I've said before, I'm not much of a writer, so Anon please see below for required watching material, before continuing with the rest of this post:

(It's only 12-ish minutes long and I strongly encourage you to watch it. Vox does a better job than I could explaining the brilliance of flow in rap)
I've said before that at its core, rap is about authenticity, freedom of expression, and flow. Flow is the hardest skill to develop because it's the easiest to fuck up. It's the most distinct feature of any verse, and the easiest thing a lay listener to rap can detect.
Good flow has character, often reflected in the tone and timbre of voice delivering the verse. Think of how Yoongi does that weird pitched thing to his voice when he's mocking someone on a track (eg Cypher Pt 3). In flow the smallest show of depth can be felt, and the more depth there is, the better the song sounds. Jungkook was not always good at adding depth to his tonal delivery (in addition to the rhyming and framing skills mentioned in the video), and it's clear he improved from his skills at No More Dream by the time you heard him on Rise of Bangtan, Anon.
Your taste in flow is another thing you're describing in your ask. I personally think of taste as tolerance on a spectrum. Think of it like how different people treat the quality of bitterness in food or drink. Some people cannot tolerate bitterness in any form, saying explicitly that bitterness is the primary reason they choose not to drink coffee or dry stout, for example. Other people have a stronger tolerance of bitterness. A sub-set of people even desire bitter taste because some kinds of bitterness are pleasurable for them.
My point is, for even the people skilled in flow, your taste/tolerance for certain types is obviously what determines what/who you like.

Now about BT21. I finally got around to answering your ask after Christmas, surrounded by the 'little people' in my family and girl did they terrorize me with this song.
I'd heard HYBE had released something BT21-related but it was only because of your ask I actually looked it up to listen to. The little people were also in the living room and held me hostage, asking me to replay it over and over again. They brought out little costumes and teddy bears, and tried to make me make them dance. Dream job?
Probably working in JP-ENG game localization. I applied to Sega of America just before covid hit and pretty soon after that everyone I knew there had dipped lmao. I actually really genuinely enjoy working retail (lllloved working at EB Games/Gamestop, and I've worked at three different pet stores and I would literally work at one for the rest of my life and be completely content with it, one of the most rewarding and enjoyable jobs ever tbh), but I mean. You can't really compete with the $$$ that comes with being a welder. If I had the patience I would probably go back to school for translation work, or something psychology-adjacent, I would really love to be an advocate for better education re: autism. I've worked with Fandom for their diversity shit before and am just generally super passionate about helping people get the facts straight about what ASD actually is outside of the stereotypes. But I do that anyway, so I guess it doesn't need to be an actual job lol.

last week i re-read all of bungou stray dogs because the last time i read it it was circa 2016 and it was around the end of the guild arc (i think? something like that) and wow. i'm a little bit impressed with how bad asagiri's writing gets...which is insanely ironic for a series about authors + several instances of what determines a good piece of writing from a shoddy one. i was curious because i remember some older fans who read it around the same time as me wanting to fight asagiri in the pit for completely gutting his own series. it is dire out here
