Just thinking about how absolutely wild the structure of Camelot's songs are within the context of the show. I am sure people have been saying this for 60 years but I want to talk about it now. Like I do genuinely love it but what were they thinking????

The first scene has 3 songs and a reprise. And depending on the version, different amounts of Guenevere starting us off.

Arthur in fact has two songs in the first scene. At least using 2023 as an estimate for timing, he will not sing again for over 45 minutes. After that, over an hour (including intermission). He is the main character. I know a hallmark of most versions is that he can't sing for shit but still.

The way The Simple Joys of Maidenhood barrels straight into I Wonder What the King is Doing Tonight like I don't think you're supposed to stack two songs immediately on top of each other in this way.

Genny also has two songs in the same scene later. And this time no one else is getting one in between. The middle of act 1 is for her.

Really all of act 1 is for her because more than half of the songs in it at least prominently feature her. And no one can catch up in act 2.

It's not even close. She has three full songs basically to herself, another one that's probably like 80%, a reprise that's mostly her, another solo reprise in 2023, except for 2023 another song with just her or with Lance, and one song with Arthur.

Iconic

Arthur has four major songs and then the tiny slices of Camelot reprises while Lance only has two or three. Even I can do this math, Genny wins by a landslide.

Depending on the version, the main couple either doesn't have a song together or has a song but it isn't even a love song. They all just sing about each other. Sometimes in front of each other. But together... nah.

There are no songs with the three leads and in fact there are like twice or three times the number of songs with one or two people singing than songs with more than that. I don't know the normal ratio but I feel like usually there's more ensemble stuff.

And like obviously act 1 ends with a monologue and that is brilliant and the best decision ever but also extremely weird that then the last song before intermission is sad Genny.

I am no musicals expert but literally none of this seems to make sense to me and yet it all somehow works and I'm obsessed with it.

“this one's for you,” chaeyoung will say, and she'll spread her arms so everyone feels like they're someone, even if they're not.

all of chaeyoung's songs have only ever been about one person. 

even if she's talking to a crowd, even if she's singing to thousands; there has always only been one person she really looks for, one person she talks to. 

in return – the most dazzling, dimpled smile, and an undeniable twinkle in her eyes that tells chaeyoung she knows. 

this is how chaeyoung loves; with her heart in her hands, as hard as she possibly can. 

this is how chaeyoung wants to be loved back; to be seen by the only person she wants to be seen by. 

it's almost routine, nearly second nature; that familiar ringing in her ears and the copper strings beneath fingers – she wrote this, after all. 

the lyrics, the melody; it is completely and irrevocably theirs. 

when the crowd calls for an encore, when she calls for an encore, chaeyoung will give another, of course. a song among many about them. 

tzuyu loves just as hard; your heart is safe with me, sing me another song. 

arms spread, eyes fixed. 

the crowd goes wild, chaeyoung hears nothing through her in-ears.

“this one, again, is for you.”

the people will listen, but that is all they’ll ever be allowed to know. this much is true – chaeyoung’s songs have always been about someone real. 

when they're the only ones left, chaeyoung will ask, “was i good?” 

she'll set her guitar aside and pull tzuyu, the only one who is someone, into her arms, and she'll pepper kisses all over her jaw just to hear her lovely laughter. 

it is a crowd of one, because chaeyoung likes keeping tzuyu to herself, but it is the only crowd that matters. 

she feels right at home. 

“you were great,” tzuyu will tell her. “you were glowing.” 

it's enough to bring the adrenaline right back into her veins, and she truly believes no one has been luckier to walk this earth than herself. 

“did you hear me? when i said the song was for you?” 

she'll tuck tzuyu's hair behind her ears to make sure she's listening, and also because she just likes touching her lover. 

then, she'll whisper, in case she didn't get it the first time, and because she likes saying it, “that's our song.” 

tzuyu giggles. “i know, i saw you looking at me.” 

chaeyoung will go home with tzuyu, even if she could sleep at any five star hotel that has more pillows than tzuyu's apartment could ever afford. 

she'll put her hood up and cover her tattoos, hidden from prying eyes, but tzuyu won't mind at all. 

“are you son chaeyoung?” people ask sometimes, if they recognise her somehow. 

“no,” chaeyoung will answer, or maybe even tzuyu, if she doesn't feel like talking. 

“i have no idea what you're talking about.” 

they'll either believe it or continue thinking what they want, but by then, tzuyu will have already whisked her away. 

when it happens, chaeyoung thinks of asking tzuyu, “do you ever want to go public?” 

it's hard not to feel guilty. 

when you're as big of a star as chaeyoung, there's much more at stake – her career, for example. her life.  

but chaeyoung would give it all up in a heartbeat, because she has all she needs right here. how could she hide?

“i would, you know,” chaeyoung tells her. “i'd tell the whole world you're mine if you wanted me to, and that i'm yours. i would.”

tzuyu has never been less than considerate. 

“i don't care if people know, and i want you to keep doing what you love.” 

in chaeyoung's eyes, it would barely be a life if tzuyu wasn't doing what she loved either. 

“i love doing this, too. life with you and nothing else sounds just as perfect as life on the stage. i want you to do what you love.” 

and chaeyoung means it when she says that, much more than she's ever meant anything else. 

you belong up there, people always tell her. a bigger stage, a larger crowd. the sky's the limit.

but there's also being on the ground in their one bedroom apartment with the only crowd she could ever care about – there's also belonging right in tzuyu's arms. 

tzuyu will kiss her forehead, and she'll hold chaeyoung's hand tight in her own. 

“i know you're mine, and you know i'm yours. that's all i want from you.” 

“but –”

“no buts,” tzuyu will say. “your songs have always been enough for me, i don't need the world.” 

they'll live on in their songs, anyway. they would.

“but i would, and i want you to know that. i'd do it all and i'd give it all up, i would.” 

it's a promise chaeyoung makes to herself and to her lover. 

“i know, and i love you for it.” 

“i love you, too, with all my heart.”

they'll have ordered takeout by the time they got home, tzuyu's treat for a show well done. 

it is far from the best food she’s eaten, but the company is perfect. 

“i want to write another song,” chaeyoung often says. 

she’ll be tucked in tzuyu's embrace, a much needed solace from a full day under burning lights. 

inspiration flows so easily when they're close. 

they have a love story for the ages, chaeyoung knows that much. she never wants to miss a moment. 

“you make me want to write so many songs.” 

tzuyu will trace the faded lines of her tattoos, she’ll leave warmth in the wake of her fingers. 

her voice is soft, gentle – like honey and sweetness in that innocently inquisitive way that chaeyoung has come to love deeply. 

she'll kiss the tip of chaeyoung's nose and hum, “how can i help?” 

oh, even if chaeyoung glows on stage, it pales in comparison to how she absolutely ignites under tzuyu's eyes. 

she's no star; simply a girl who loves with all her heart, and a girl who has her love loved back.  

“stay with me, just like this.” 

tzuyu will tell her the same things over, “always.”

Awe tysm! Of course, I can, I love writing about music 😭 I had to delve into the depths of my Spotify to actually see what bands I know, that I should pick for these guys. This totally isn't me projecting btw.

I ended up just giving them a band they like and a singular musical artist.

Demo and Hozier oh my god, its insane how much he likes him. I don't know how to elaborate on this further, but like, "Would That I"??? I feel like he loves that song! Also, I feel like all I have to say is "Take Me To Church" and I know some people will understand that immediately. This man just uses music as escapism, of course he likes Hozier.

Will Wood and The Tapeworms is a band that I've already deemed one of Demo favorites because of "The First Step." but this man just genuinely loves all of the songs. "The First Step", "Front Street", "6up 5oh Copout (Pro/Con)" and "Hand Me My Shovel, I'm Going In!" Are his favorites though.

Engie is a hardcore Dolly Parton fan. I know it's played out, I know it's obvious, I know its tropey, but I can't deny that this man loves Dolly Parton. Like this man is head of the fan club and I won't stop saying it. It would be wrong for me to pretend he doesn't heavily relate to "9 to 5."

Also loves the Chordettes oddly enough? He thinks all the way they sing is beautiful. He adores the cover of "Hello! Ma Baby". But is also a sucker for the popular ones, "Mr. Sandman" and "Lollipop". I will say though, it's utterly disturbing to the other mercs when it's like midnight and they get up for something and just here a really softly played "Mr. Sandman". Only one not disturbed is Medic, but like, it's hard to disturb a man who also has been known to play those old eerie songs at odd hours, they bond over this.

This man loves Elton John, he loves how he can relate heavily to some of the songs and then just genuinely enjoy other ones with no other meaning. Like he'll listen to "I'm Still Standing", and feel a lot of emotions from it, and then like "Crocodile Rock" will come on and just vibe to it.

Heavy also likes the Beetles. I don't know I just think he likes way the songs are sung, and the meaning he pulls from the lyrics themselves. Reads into music a lot and values being able to do that. Likes songs about love, and the Beetles are great for that. Don't get him started on "I Want To Hold Your Hand", and "Eleanor Rigby".

MARINA being Medics favorite is a mix of him being a teen girl in my mind, and an actual genuine ability to relate to some of the songs. I will say this until the day I die. This man has never felt good enough. Not even once. He's always working to try and get better, and once he does get better he's moving the goal post of getting better. Has played "Are You Satisfied" more times than you can count. "Oh No" and "Hermit The Frog" are also one's he finds himself both loving and relating to.

Would you guys be mad if I said this man was obsessed with Queen? (I am not projecting here, I swear!) Similarly to Heavy, he's a sucker for a romantic song or two. Loves "Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy" Also you want to talk about not feeling good enough, loops "Bohemian Rhapsody" Have you guys seen the Bohemian Rhapsody movie? You guys know the scene where Freddie (Rami Malek) is singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" and sings the line "I sometimes wish I'd never been born at all!" and has a slight break because he realizes he just actually said that? Yeah. That's how Medic feels when he first hears the song. But on a lighter note he also likes "Killer Queen" and "I Want To Break Free."

Scout is a Tom Cardy fan. I don't know how to elaborate without just yelling "Mixed Messages" like come on. Also, have you guys heard "H.S" Man he loves that song! Also oops another mini headcanon inside a headcanon, Sniper introduced him to Tom Cardy when he had "Read Between The Lines" playing one day.

Mindless Self Indulgence is a tad self-explanatory but who am I not to explain something in graphic detail? Gives him such confidence and makes him feel so cool. I already headcanon that he loves "Get It Up" so it's only natural that his favorite band made a song he loves. I stand by what others have said. Trans boy swag, well also a mix of that and white boy swag. White trans boy swag makes a Mindless Self Indulgence fan.

Sniper- Honestly? I racked my brain for this one, and I'm going to get silly with this. I'm going to say he likes George Ezra, purely because "Budapest" reminds me so much of him. I think he'd love that song. Another case of putting his emotions into his music or more like, liking music that conveys his emotions? Ough the song just gives me Sniper angst vibes.

Uh controversial opinion, what the frick??? Oingo Boingo fan. Again something I can't but he loved "Dead Man's Party" It's just a song he's always really liked. "No Spill Blood" and "Controller" are also ones he likes. I feel like "weird" music is his favorite genre of music.

I hate to say it but Spy is a fan of Olivia Rodrigo. I'm not going to lie, he's the second most teen girl-coded person on the team. Sings "bad idea right?", "Brutal", and "good 4 you". Sings them in the shower, the other mercs are sick of it 😭

Soldier is a sucker for AC/DC. Dad music (I say this with love, I get why people like AC/DC they have good music.)This man is just a criminally insane dad, in my mind anyway. The other mercs have been woken up to "Highway to Hell" once or twice and have let Soldier play "Thunderstruck" as hype music before a battle.

I think he likes Tom Petty, like how are you going to tell me he doesn't love "I Won't Back Down" and "Free Falling" just loves the sound of the music itself (if that makes any sense) more focused on the sounds instead of the actual meaning.

Pyro is a huge fan of Jack Stauber. They adore the music. Enjoys the pop of "There's Something Happening" and loves the slow and sad sounds in "Cupid" Ugh they just love Jack Stauber so much. The only issue they had was when they first listened to "Bumblebees Are Out" it caused a meltdown, poor Pyro was reminded of trauma they forgot. Engie had to calm them down for an hour after. (They're okay, don't worry!)

PYRO IS A JUGGALO 100% I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL. They kick their legs while listening to "Imma Kill U". Listen to "My Axe" and replace any mention of an axe with their flamethrower, in their head. I'm just imagining an AMV or just seeing Pyro walking to "Boogie Woogie Wu" and scaring the shit out of anyone and everyone.

Things I Noticed About Velvet and Veneer Specifically

And a small thought I had about Crimp

Because I'm on the Trolls 3 Brainrot. Some headcanons might be in here too. Idk I heard that cover of Fame/Remember My Name and the Freshman theatre kid in me started crying tears of joy because I was in the high school version

That being said, information I've found could be incorrect because, after all, it's the Internet. This is all in regards to a work of fiction, though do consult an actual attorney or legal team if you see a need to.

- As time went on with their songs, I noticed that Velvet was beginning to overpower Veneer. Idk if it was an intentional detail on the director's/music dept's part, but if you go through all of songs in the order they're sung (including Sweet Dreams in John Dory's flashback) you'd notice the following:

- There's an even audio/equal turns in their duet during Sweet Dreams. Velvet has her riff moments but she's not overpowering Veneer. The song itself is also mildly ironic because of the lyrics in context:

...Some of them want to use you/Some of them want to be used by you/Some of them want to abuse you/Some of them want to be abused...

I'm sure the context is obvious, what with Floyd and the rest of the boys being outright abused by the both of them. Though my thought on it goes mildly deeper because when you listen to Watch Me Work, the arrangement is like this (I recommend listening to the song with headphones on/both earbuds in btw):

Velvet is starting to overpower her brother, not in a social or public image sense, but he's heard less in the music now. On top of that, the song seems to be specifically about Velvet (and the fact that this entire performance is a lie). Veneer is singing to Velvet in agreement of her claims. It's not, "They think that we're peakin'," it's "I'm peakin'," and "All my talent." The only time Veneer sings is to riff/add under it with flair, or to agree that Velvet is blazing on the charts. I'm 99% sure that the idea alone to use Floyd for personal gain was her idea. I still want context as to how they learned that the diamond perfume bottle works that way, and how they ended up grabbing him in the first place okay it's KIND OF IMPORTANT INFORMATION DREAMWORKS

And again in Mount Rageous and the use of Fame/Remember My Name:

Notice how Veneer didn't get a chance to sing alone once in this number, not even for a riff or extra flair. The end of the song when she sings Name she's riffing the highest she ever has alone. Though I do believe that Veneer had had enough at this point and stopped singing, as he didn't want to do the encore. He knew they already won; all they had to do was take the award, finish the night out and go home. PR would most likely be the ones to handle the media with questions regarding why three little Trolls rolled up claiming they kidnapped four other Trolls, and then immediately began jumping at them repeatedly at a specific part of their outfits that they'd covered from the cameras in the first place. (Unless of course, the police got involved. Love how Bruce was the only one that thought to say "Call the authorities," and even if they had the authorities could've at least retrieved Floyd for them maybe so the abuse would stop? I'm sure there's an AU Fanfic in that somewhere—)

- Continuing on this in regards to Veneer, he is the definition of a morally grey character to an extent. There's some minor issues here and there, but I haven't seen a good grey character in animation in a while, so props to the Trolls III team on his development.

But instead of calling it there, Velvet, high on the adrenaline and the fame now lodged into her core, demands he sings again. She refuses to let the Trolls walk away with what they want, even though she's already won and made it to the top, and even if she'd stop there, she wouldn't let any of those Trolls leave if she had anything to say or do about it. So, looking to make more history, she screws herself over in the process. One part on Crimp's "betrayal," (more on that in a minute), but also in one part that Floyd would not have made it through that first song in her encore, and she would have croaked and embarrassed them both. Veneer outright told her he wouldn't make it and she did it anyway (or attempted). Hell Floyd barely made it through the ending chorus with his brothers by the the tip of his black eyeliner pencil.

- Adding to this, I noticed that Veneer never had Floyd in his shoulder pad slot things. In fact he wasn't ever truly the one that had ahold of Floyd's diamond cage for longer than a few minutes at a time. Velvet always spritzed herself first. Velvet almost always had the diamond in her hands. The only time Veneer has the diamond is when he spritz himself, and the two-to-three minute conversations between him and Floyd. When Veneer catches Floyd, he's immediately prompted to hand him back to Velvet. Velvet is almost always in full control over Floyd. Even during "What's with your vibe and your face?" She moved the diamond away from Veneer as if she were defending the bottle. (If I remember correctly. I need to watch the movie in full again and not a bunch of snips and clips.) The issues I noticed was how, despite going back and forth about how what they were doing to Floyd was right or wrong, he leaned more towards his sister's viewpoint when reminded of small things, i.e. the illegal pet monkey, but then leaned away from his sister when he stopped and saw what his actions were doing to a little guy like Floyd, who probably only wanted to visit Mount Rageous like a tourist or something. AGAIN I NEED ANSWERS DREAMWORKS

Veneer suggested ways to ease off using the perfume bottle, but didn't push the boundary when Velvet shot him down, and he's outright blunt that she kind of has no excuse to continue the charade. "We grew up in the suburbs, our parents were dentists." (You know they were rich kids if BOTH parents were dentists.) And with the cash they were making off their careers, they could hire a vocal coach AND require a signed NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement). (Also how do you tax evade when purchasing a yacht??? You literally have to like— Do a credit check or something- Unless they paid with cash in full—) It wasn't until he realized that he'd almost killed Floyd (for real at the end) that he said enough was enough. His mini-panic attack upon Floyd's fake out shows that he has morals, but is ignoring them. He stops to listen to what Floyd has to say and is open to the conversation, rather than shutting him down. ("Just because she's your sister doesn't mean you should let her treat you like garbage." "Doesn't it?") I would not be surprised if Velvet ended up outright leaving him behind in her further climb in fame and the charts if they'd continued beyond the movie without intervention.

As for Crimp:

My biggest question with Crimp is how the hell she managed to get away with her involvement in the kidnapping and torture of a Troll.

Hear me out: I'm assuming now Trolls have more protections after the liberation and total turn around and revival of Bergen Town and the Rock Apocalypse, since she explicitly states "Troll-napping, Troll Torture," rather than just Kidnapping and Torture in general.

Upon her hire-on as an assistant to the twins, I assume she'd have to sign a NDA with their record label to protect their livelihoods and whatever music and songs she sees them working on, but a NDA does not protect a company or person from the law. (Noting that I'm going off USA Law here since these are about the same across most of the fifty states, and I honestly could compare Mount Rageous to Hollywood or Los Angeles, CA at this point?)

NDAs give a company the right to file a cease and desist against an employee if it's found they're giving out private corporate or internal information. This isn't the same as a HIPPA or other kind of protection law that prevents an employee's personal information from being aired out or an HR case being put in the open (think when a customer wants to complain about a retail worker and asks for their last name, you're not allowed to give that information. Or if someone comes to customer service asking if a specific person is working at the moment, you're not allowed to answer that. (At least the store I work at has those rules.)) In the USA with most states, you are usually required by law to report a crime if you know of it. Failing to do so is called a Misprision of a Felony. So if you know your boss has murdered someone and covered it up (*cough cough* Sing 2 *cough*), you are required to report it. If you know your assigned pop stars are holding a protected citizen (or species? I guess?) hostage and are exploiting their powers through means of ESSENTIALLY torture, you'd be legally required to report it. Otherwise you'd be at risk of being held accountable of aiding and abetting. Which technically she could be held accountable anyway because she made that "fruit extractor" for them on Velvet's lie that it's for smoothies on stage. Hell she was LITERALLY getting ukulele lessons from Floyd.

A NDA does not exempt you or your employers from the law or reporting illegal activity. A judge is likely to take that NDA and throw it away when it comes to information regarding the case. The excuse that the NDA prevented Crimp from reporting the crime doesn't hold. Hell I didn't even see a hint of blackmail or threat of harm to herself in this case, unlike Jimmy Crystal in Sing 2, where he outright threatened to kill Buster Moon multiple times and then attempted to commit the murder in front of thousands of people. The only real thing Crimp could ride on with a defense attorney is the fact that Velvet lied and told her that it was for smoothies. She also had a whole cell phone and could have called the authorities when they locked her in the closet. (Internet cell service is not the same as mobile phone service. Phones, even ones that don't have a SIM card or unlocked phones, are required by law to allow phone calls to 911 or numbers that are required emergency services in the USA. It's why your hidden phone from your parents say SOS where the reception bars would be, and also why that hidden phone still got that emergency alert system text.)

Boysband AU headcanons (4nemo) 1

For those unfamiliar with the concept, 4nemo is a group of anemo boys who started a boysband.

AN: it's very hard to keep up with haiku syllables in English but I'm trying my best to modify my orginal poetry.

When you were left without a job, but with a whole bunch of bills to pay, you decided to look for something new. The offer was quite enigmatic but it matched your qualifications. Attracted by the vision of money, you volunteered. You had to sign a non-disclosure agreement before you were hired and that was a bit of a bummer. Everything became clear when you were accepted as the manager of the not so long ago formed band 4nemo...

Xiao

✧ Quiet and mysterious type of man. At first you thought it was the label that made him look like that but you soon realized that it was not true. Xiao is like that in every way. Naturally, he has a lot of female fans who are attracted to his way of being. You can safely say thanks to your re-search that he has the most fans out of all team members. Not that he really cares because he doesn't like attention very much. At fan meetings, he always fidgets impatiently and wants to get away as fast as possible.

✧ In 4nemo he is a rapper. He's doing pretty well, though not great. Apparently, his mentor was a certain Zhongli. He's one of the few people you see him hanging out with that you initially thought were his family. You're pretty sure whatever his mentor was, he didn't teach him how to rap because the man is very calm and elegant.

✧ Xiao likes to sit quietly with you on the stairs sometimes. It's kind of your ritual. If he's not feeling well, he'll somehow catch you on your way out of the studio. You don't ask what exactly is bothering him because he won't tell you anyway. You stay like that together for a while, talking about various, unimportant things. You even fell asleep on his shoulder once but he didn't reproach you for it. He just woke you up brutally.

Kaedehara Kazuha

✧ His specialty is dancing. Fans say he moves like he has the wind on his side. Perhaps because he trained martial arts in his childhood. He has offered you several times to join him as he practices new routine moves. He's managed to teach you a few things.

✧ He sometimes disappears and no one knows where he is. If he decides to hide, no one from the production will find him. You are one of the few people who are somehow able to locate Kazuha at almost any time. He was surprised himself.

✧ Kazuha likes to wander around the city. Preferably, however, surrounded by nature. Every frame he is allowed to record outside is a win. The same goes for photo sessions. There he seems to be in his environment. There was even a stereotype among the fans that if the music video has Kazuha and nature in the background, it must be a hit.

✧ The boy writes a lot of song lyrics. Most end up in a drawer but he showed you some sketches. On the side, he also writes poetry, saying it helps him. He wrote a haiku for you to thank you for your work for the team:

✧ He's the best at singing. Still, he also has the ability to play multiple instruments and if only the record label would let him, he would definitely use it on every single hit. All he has to do is satisfy the audience's hunger with covers or short videos showing his skills.

✧ He is the biggest prankster of the four. If there's one thing for sure, it's that every joke comes from Venti. Whether verbal or prank. He recently added a tinted shampoo to Kazuha's bottle and now the boy has red tips left on his hair. He left them for the fans, although you had to convince him a lot. The culprit, of course, ran away for the day.

✧ Venti had several scandals. Mainly related to him being in clubs. Some of them were not known to a wider audience but fans still remember his drunken incident when he sang a hit from the latest album (not yet published at the time) and someone recorded it. Somehow he always gets away with the public and that's probably the only reason he hasn't been fired yet. The label knows fans would probably boycott them.

✧ He loves social media. Even if he's given instructions not to involve you as a manager or limit it in the photos, he does it anyway. He vlogs non-stop. Tomorrow he will definitely post a picture of what he eats for dinner so that everyone will know...

Aether

✧ Group leader. Very attached to his sister, which you noticed almost immediately. It was thanks to her that he even came to the preliminaries before 4nemo was founded. Lumine travels a lot but calls her brother very often. Very often you picked up a phone call from her to let her know there was a rehearsal still going on so she can't talk with her brother now. The boy often misses her and home but he tries to put on a brave face. You comforted him several times because he couldn't handle it.

✧ Modest is the word that defines him. Aether does not take credit for most meritorious achievements. This can be seen, among other things, in his speeches. He also mentioned you there, saying that no one sees your work behind the scenes. You were extremely touched. You have to constantly remind him how important he is because he will always forget about himself.

✧ He supports the whole group. Guys seem to orbit around him and you quickly noticed how he binds them together. He's the one in charge who will make a normal breakfast instead of stuffing himself with anything like Venti, nothing like Xiao or anything quick like Kazuha.

✧ Aether likes to ask what you think about their performances. He is very open to criticism and will definitely try to improve what you tell him at the next show.

Infodump about the ideas for the highschool idol au

So. Character info.

Cross: His dad is the principal (but they aren't on such bad terms, they just don't get along the best), he lives on campus with Ink (this is kinda a private school situation, you live in the dorms, but the uniform isn't really enforced by anyone but the actual principal, and it's usually just a stern warning.) and he may have some gender dysphoria, because I enjoy jumping on the bandwagon of using Cross as a punching bag. He wears the uniform pretty consistently, with a gold locket under the tie. He does always insist on wearing red Chuck Taylors all the time, which is the only pop of color on him other than the red scar on his cheek he got from falling down a hill as a kid. He was forcibly added to the band as secondary vocals and drums

Killer: Chaotic, loud, and possessing some godforsaken mix between a Cockney and a Boston accent that sounds surprisingly good when used to sing, he's the epitome of everything Cross isn't. He enjoys ghibli movies, my melody, and cats, but also feels like a bolt of lightning. When he actually wears the uniform, it's usually with a signature studded leather jacket with pins in it. he never takes the jacket off. if he isn't wearing the school uniform, it's usually a shirt with Kel holding an orange joe or a cat hoodie under the jacket. His voice and outgoing nature got him the spot as the lead vocals and guitar.

Horror: He doesn't speak much, but when he does, it's slow, and full of thought. He likes to make food for people, and one of the first things he said to Dust was "Do you like pie." (much slower, but you get my point.) He never really wears the uniform, and everyone is fine with that, i don't think he's even met the principal. The best bear hugs in the school come from him. He plays bass.

Dust: He speaks snarkily to combat Killer, or to help Nightmare talk him out of a terrible plan to get that one guy finger drumming and mouthing the words to Fine to come and play. He wears the uniform sometimes, but always finds something to make it different, never removing his scarf.

Nightmare: He writes the lyrics to all the songs they sing, and drills everyone on the lyrics matching the beat exactly. EMO B- He always insists on visiting this one coffee shop, and always either wears casual wear or a full suit like

And high heels. He's hot and he knows it.

Error: Works on audio editing, and seems to be getting gradually more interested in theater. if you think he wears anything but his pajamas, you're wrong. Bro learned how to code a free no download version of FL studio, but won't do his math homework.

Ink: Ultimate art and theater kid, does everything, always covered in paint. how does he manage this. Pretty good grades, and he can sing well, but he usually keeps his singing to himself and this one guy who used to go to school with him.

Dream: Writes scripts, and plays smaller character parts, very gay for blue. That's all I can really say without having a whole ass essay.

Blue: Builds the sets for plays, and finds ways to get the school budget large enough to get all the materials for the plays.

Ccino(I'm just gonna refer to him as coffee guy until nightmare actually learns his name): works at the only good campus food store/cafe, and makes, and I quote "The only black coffee that you can actually enjoy"-Noot noot joku, 2023(/24, Idk when he'll say that.)

-he first listened to the monkeys when you asked him to play something that isn't jazz. you forced him to spin one of your records, so he picked 'tbhc' because he found the title intriguing. he loves it but would never admit to you.

-'star treatment', 'one point perspective', and the title track are always on repeat for him. he thinks 'golden trunks' are the two of yous' song.

-james probably doesn't explore the arctic monkeys much, he listened to 'the car' but it was too modern for his taste.

rory monahan - suck it and see

-assuming that rory lives in california, he would definitely listen to "sias'. he also fits the album's aesthetic very well.

-you both discovered arctic monkeys at a record store. he picked 'suck it and see' as a joke and because he's a borny little shit. to his surprise, he ended up liking it though.

-'black treacle', 'piledriver waltz', and the title track are his favorites. you'd both debate on which one is better: the 'sias' version of 'piledriver waltz' or alex turner's version, he always defends the 'sias' version for some reason.

-he probably listens to the other albums but not as much as he does to 'sias'.

kai anderson - am

-he doesn't listen to 'am' that much, he doesn't listen to music that much in general. he thinks it's something sacred and should only be listened to when doing something holy, like creating a messiah with your sister through your gay boy toy twink cult member.

-he discovered 'am' through the internet, and plays it typically when he works out or attempting to "create a messiah" with you.

April 2: Favorite Character, Episode, Movie, and/or Song

Most people seem to be doing them all, but I'll be skipping movie since there's only 2 of them.

Favourite Character:

MY CRINGEFAIL SON IVAN!!!! I relate to him immensely, even his dynamic with Edward I'd say I can somewhat relate to with someone in my life. It's uncanny. He tries his best to be outgoing but anxiety and self esteem issues sure are fucking bitches, so he can only really do it behind a mask. Even in S2 whilst his whole outlook may have taken a bit of a rollback, that's honestly realistic, not everyone can just keep marching and continuously improving themselves, there are setbacks and holes you can fall into at times. I wish we knew more about his personal life beyond his backstory of getting bullied as a child + what vague stuff we have of his hero academy days, a lot of heroes suffer from this, however. His passion for his hobbies is also just like me. He's cringe but he is free, just like many of us wish to be. Runner up is Keith I love the Autistic dog man

Favourite Episode:

I gotta go with Sky's The Limit. The title is a very OH GEE WHOS FOCUS EPISODE IS THIS kind but genuinely it doesn't prepare you for the content. There's a wholeass lore drop, an intense fight scene with a robot, and of course Keith being Keith. It also puts into focus just how much pressure heroes are put under when it comes to the rankings, and second place apparently not being enough for Poseidon Line is a very corporate reality. It's go big or go home. The ending is also like OH MY GOD IM CRYING???? Like, we know Cis isn't very capable of behaving like a human, but Keith doesn't realise she's not human at all, he treats her as any other person and falls harder than an anvil for her despite their short time in contact. It makes me think that Cis had a potential to be something, someone more than she was initially made for. And these two are a bit of a guilty pleasure ship that me and like 2 other people in the west side seem to ship and yes I will be taking those "Keith is still lowkey in love with her even in S2 era" crumbs thank you-

Oh shit this is where it gets tricky. I have so many, so I'll split it into categories:

OP: Earth Diver ED: Pilot Character Song: GHHHAAAAAA DONT MAKE ME CHOOOOOSE Other supplementary Song: Orion Wo Nazoru Hero Cover

I can't really put to words for Earth Diver, but I really like how it starts and kinda soothes you into the song before it really kicks. The lyrics are also very passionately sung.

I really like the calmer tone of Pilot and even though the explicitness of the shippyness isn't as heavy as Aida, the subtlety honestly fits them more. The credits themselves are also just beautiful; the visual aspect of them hits immensely hard in ep 14 especially since you saw what could happen to their suits in the fight the episode prior, and they're both no longer in their prime. Closing it out as they stare at the sunset makes me emotional and Proud Fiesta I love you but goddamn why did you return for Episode 25 that was a fucking mood killer I stg.

I love a lot of the character songs, with the ones from Best Of Hero very enjoyable romps, especially Mikirezakura and Thanks and Thanks Again, the energy these two songs have makes you wanna coreograph something. Some other highlights are POWER OF JUSTICE and Aaa Hero Suit. (Also Hidden Heroism actually kinda sucks it tries to be Mikirezakura 2 and thus loses out on an identity of its own which is very disappointing).

I love the harmony of the heroes cover of Orion, I can really picture them all in recording booths singing next to each other...who's the cheering guy, though? I've listened to this cover so many times and the line the cheering guy seemingly sings just sounds like Hirata's Kotetsu, I don't get it. I get wanting to balance the lyrics between groups and characters evenly but that was an awkward way to do it.

headcannons (that nobody asked for) about the ons characters and what kind of music they would have listened to (realistic version)

First, let's focus on the fact that many people in this fandom choose to ignore when giving headcannons to characters in ons. Let's not forget that the apocalypse came in 2012 and they no longer have technology (except for the vampires), that means that they no longer can hear newer songs.

So, they would perhaps still have old records or only listen to Japanese artists.

Let's start with the humans!!

Yuichiro Hyakuya:

He would most likely listen to popular japanese artists, perhaps he would listen to pop songs. I don't think that he's that interested in music, but I can't leave him out of this. He would listen to AKB48, Arashi and EXILE. They're great japanese artists who were very popular in 2012, their albums being sold the most in Japan.

Mikaela Hyakuya:

The same as Yuu, he wouldn't be interested in music too much. But, since he's close to Krul, (or he was) she most definitely kept some albums and records with music on it. He probably listened to some of her kept records. He wasn't interested at first, but as he got more bored, he probably started to listen more often to those albums. I feel like he would obviously listen to japanese songs, but some sad slow ones. He would definitely listen to 'one more time, one more chance' by Masayoshi Yamazaki, Fukai Mori by Do as infinity and Utakata Hanabi by SuperCell. I don't think that Krul would have many japanese albums, but he's pleased with the ones that she has.

Ferid Báthory:

He's an ancient vampire, so it makes sense that he would prefer old songs. Unlike other vampires, he would be interested in music since music can make him less bored. Even in the light novels it says that he owns antique things like books, desks, etc. It's off topic, but I think that he would immediately buy something that interests him, so he probably has collected a variety of useless things over time, that includes albums. He definitely has a collection with classic music. He may seem like he only likes songs that attract him with the rhythm or beat, but he actually pays attention to everything, including the rhythm,beat,lyrics,artist,etc and then he would decide if he likes it or not. You would be tricked by him, assuming that he only bought albums that sound good, but if you listen to the lyrics, you would realize how they somehow reasonate to him deeply.

Crowley Eusford:

Let's be honest here, he wouldn't listen to music. He would have only listened to music when he heard it in public. He would prefer slower songs though, and he would hate loud songs with no meaningful lyrics. I think that he's the type of person that listens very carefully to the lyrics, then he decides if he likes that song or not. He doesn't care about the rhythm, popularity or the artist who sings it, he would pay attention to the lyrics.

Shinoa Hiiragi:

Her preferred music type couldn't be described just as one genre, she would have listened to a variety of artists, including: Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Lana Del Rey, LazyGunsBrisky, Marina, Scandal, BABYMETAL, SILENT SIREN, AKB48, etc. She would have definitely liked Marina and Taylor Swift.

René Simm:

He would definitely listen to alternative or metal music. I MEAN JUST LOOK AT HIM. Even his fade cut (or whatever that design is in his hair😭) reminds me Type O Negative's album 'October Rust'. The cover of it has almost the same design as his hair. He would definitely listen to Type O Negative, Mayhem, AC/DC, Slipknot, Rammstein and Black Sabbath.

Lacus Welt:

Also a fan of metal music, but he reminds me of the 90s. I know that we don't have his backstory yet but I think that he got turned into a vampire in the 90s. He would have listened to 90s music, especially Nirvana.

I can do both! Hm, both are pretty dependent on where in their respective timelines they are, though...

Violetta is most likely to have gone to the grocery store like a normal person during her time in Mechanicsburg. She finds herself humming a patriotic song that the municipal band was playing a few days ago at some ribbon-cutting ceremony the Burgmeister attended with his staff in tow. She briefly thinks, with reflexive patriotism for her own home, that the Sturmhalten City Anthem is better, then remembers that actually it isn't and also she hates everyone back there, especially Tarvek. She genuinely thinks that the Parisian City Anthem is better, but the Mechanicsburg song better serves her cover, here, so she doesn't stop herself from humming it. It is pretty catchy, even if the lyrics had an unsettling amount to do with tearing people to pieces then making the parts dance with a well-placed electrical current.

For Celechwes, well, after the initial reconciliation of the Noldor and renewed determination to fight Morgoth all together, Maglor set to writing some rousing, heartening, slightly bloodthirsty, and above all catchy songs for marching, fort-building, farming, even for battle... Some were such good earworms that they passed through the Girdle and people started absentmindedly singing them in Doriath...to which Daeron and other great singers of the court took personal offense, so they started composing their own ridiculously catchy earworms about the beauty of Menegroth and the whole realm of Doriath, the joys of traipsing through the trees, gathering nuts and berries, hunting in the glen and singing with songbirds... These, in turn, made their way back to the Noldor...

This long-distance, passive-aggressive back-and-forth competition continued all the way until Dagor Bragollach. Celechwes was always more partial to Daeron's.

Milgram Prisioner Covers Prediction List

So. I've been listening to some of DECO's older songs these past few days, some of which I hadn't heard before, and I wanted to try and take a shot on future Milgram Covers! (this list will be so wrong i'll be ashamed of this 2 yrs from now) (Also like. Don't think this had a 10 month research period. I'm not a professional lyricist or literary analyst guy or anything. I literally did this during the weekend while procrastinating for uni assignments.) There is a TLDR at the end for the lazy kings (you guys are so real for that tbh)

01 - Undead Alice

I don't really have a reason for it, I really just feel like it makes a good fit. Yeah, the lyrics are about a toxic relationship, but the way the song is written reminds me a lot about Haruka and his negative view about himself (which may become worse after a Guilty vote).

02 - Rabbit Hole

This song is fits so well with Yuno. It really feels like it's mocking love and romance, especially the superficial ones where it's all just "corny" and "cliché", which is really in-line with Yuno's character. Also it would be so good. Just imagine Rabbit Hole with the Vampire cover's yoinky sploinky cartoony sounds.

03 - 118

This one I'm not that certain of, I guess it fits with Futa becoming more aware and remorseful of what he did and ending up spiting who he associated with. Also, I really think it would fit his songs' style of a more rock-punk vibe. Futa's covers are actually kind of hard to predict to be honest, even today I woudn't think about him covering Mozaik Role, but here we are.

04 - Ghost Rule

I'm pretty sure Ghost Rule will be covered by one of the prisioners, since it's kind of a Vocaloid classic (and also really good it will be such a win for Muu-stans if this becomes real). I felt like it goes well with Muu's character, with her acting superior and snobby in school and later becoming a bullying victim, a "ghost", as a consequence. If she covers this, then maybe in T3 she regrets what she did and how she acted?

05 - Cosmic Rendesvouz

Yeah this one came out a few days ago, and is what inspired me to make this list. It's just. Made for Shidou. The mourning? The wanting to reunite with his wife on the after-life? THE HOLOGRAPHIC GHOST-MEMORY-THINGS? So Shidou-core. I know a lot of people pointed this out, but some scenes felt so much like Triage. Anyways, this song screams "I'm Shidou and I'm very sad" in the best way possible. Next.

06 - Zombies

This one is less like a guess and more like a PLEASE I NEED THIS SO BAD. This fits SO WELL with the toxic girlfriend and abusive relationship. Her wanting to be with the lover forever, leading to him passing away, fits so well. Also, Okasaki Miho would simply SLAY SO MUCH.

07 - We The Hostages

Kazui is difficult. A lot of DECO's songs are about bad/distasteful relationships, so I felt like there were a lot of options. I chose this one mostly because the lyrics can be interpreted as a person who doesn't love their partner anymore, and wants to let it all go, as the relationship was bad for both. Also the wife is gone apparently.

08 - Winter Cleaning(????)

Amane is actually the main boss of this prediction list because like. She will cover ANIMAL. I still think it'll be good, actually so happy for the Amane-stans out there, but it was just. One of the most jaw-dropping cover choices from the entire project for me. ANYTHING is possible from now on. I guess Winter Cleaning makes sense if she goes to therapy and recovers from Her Current Behaviour™, as in like, cleaning her mindspace and taking out the bad memories and such, but this is really a shot in the dark.

09 - (Not) A Devil

Another one that's more of a wish than a prediction (and also kind of fanservice-y?). The lyrics are like an angel and a devil on an argument, so it would be cool if we had both Ore-Mikoto and Boku-Mikoto singing as the angel and the devil. Also the song kind of fits his heavy-metal song style.

09 - Theory of Negativity

Aha, two songs for Mikoto! That's because his T2 cover was not revealed yet! Anyway, it's a song about breakups I think (as are a lot of them actually), but the lyrics talk about hating the partner, wanting to change one's self, a lot of self-doubt, and it kind of fits with Mikoto's struggles on having DID.

10 - Reversible Campaing

This is one I'm really hoping for. The style of the song fits her themes and styles so much. I don't think the lyrics fit 100% for her, as they are about (guess it) a toxic relationship (!?!), but so was Anti-Beat and that cover was great so who cares.

10 - Dilemma

Kotoko will also have two predictions! This one is more on the aesthetics of the song and the MV, and also because it can kind of being interpreted as her saying how much justice she did ("Don't play arround, how much I've done for you, you probably don't even want to know").

HONORABLE MENTIONS

-I could very easily switch Reversible Campaign and 118, these songs are good for both Futa and Kotoko -I also thought about Cinderella for Muu, but it came as a song about being insecure, while currently Muu is like. The opposite. -Love Doll would also fit with Mahiru, and her wanting to spend every second with her partner -I was so close to chosing A Bird's Song for Kazui, but We The Hostages made more sense. -Addiction can fit with Mikoto because of the beat, but the lyrics didn't make that much sense in character. -Also I can kind of see Pseudo-Hope Syndrome fitting well for Mikoto

The first time he heard it he didn't even pay attention to the actual lyrics. He was in his car and the song just came on. It was loud and not his usual style but it was also catchy, so Steve decided to add it to a playlist.

The second time it came on he was cleaning his house and at this point he knew the melody so he was jumping around while vacuuming.

The third time it played he was laying on his floor close to a mental breakdown. This time he really listened. Every word poured through him and filled his mind. "Pretty in Pink" by Scene Queen usually just a song that was a little fun addition to his playlist, now breaking his heart and making him mad.

"Relatable" he murmured through his angry tears. And so it began. His little obsession with the singer. His little secret as he didn't actually feel comfortable sharing this one, even with Robin.

So, the second he saw she was playing in the city near him he jumped to buy the ticket.

"This is perfect, Robin is going away with Nance for the weekend, I don't even need to make an excuse to ditch them." he was talking to himself from excitement.

He spent the whole week, leading up to it, buzzing with nervousness and joy. It was his first time going to a gig alone, it wasn't his scene (xd) at all and he was a little petrified trying out a new style. He settled on wearing platforms black jeans and an oversized dark pink sweater. At last second threw in some earrings and a bit of pink shadow and strawberry lipgloss (he's favourite). It made him feel more confident to have a comfort item with him even if it was just a lip product.

Once he got to the venue and bought a drink (hey, you gotta do what you gotta do to relax) the man slowly made his way onto the floor.

It wasn't big and most of the people seemed really friendly. Their joined energy made him feel a bit lighter, or maybe it was the drink, either way the nerves floated away and he was left with pure euphoria of seeing his favourite artist.

Before the main event though came the support band. Corroded Coffin. It was the first he ever heard the name. Sounds about right for the amount of people dressed in black and chains.

Steve wasn't really paying attention to the band as they walked out. They set and tuned their instruments. Soon the first song started playing, The man glanced at the stage right as the lead singer came out. He's heart fluttered.

The man was beautiful. Tall, slim, a maine of big, curly, dark hair rested on top of his shoulders. He was dressed in a mesh crop top and tight, heart stoppingly tight, leather pants. The best thing - his pale skin was covered in tattoos. They were peaking out of his cropped top and through the mesh. Steve couldn't stop staring, mouth slightly open. If it keeps going that way he'll drool. It's like he just witnessed the 8th wonder of the world. Yes, he's aware of how corny that sounds.

Then the brown eyed (oh his brown brown eyes, Steve could drown in them) man was now singing. Screaming and singing. The tone of the metalheads voice wrapped him around as if a blanket was thrown over his heart.

"Shit" was all he could muster as he realised, he might have just fallen in love with a complete stranger. No it's a crush. It's just a crush on someone who doesn't know and won't ever know he existed. It didn't stop the blush that spread all over his face turning the cheeks almost burgundy.

When it was time for the actual reason he even got here in the first place to walk out the man couldn't stop thinking about the singer.

Ofcourse he was having fun, Scene Queen was doing amazing live. But the thoughts kept racing, kept imagining things that weren't supposed to be happening.

And then he felt it. The hot air of a breath on his ear and a whisper.

"Couldn't help noticing you staring at me, big boy"

Steve whipped his head around, the vocalist of Corroded Coffin waa standing near inches away from him, their bodies touching, a big grin spread across his face

"Hi, I'm Eddie" he said in his perfect dark voice.

Steve couldn't function. His breath hitched, the blush spread from cheeks down his neck.

"Get yourself together, for fucks sake" he thought.

"And you are?" said Eddie not moving away.

"hot, i mean uhmm, hmm, i-" the shorter man cleared his throat "I'm Steve" great job at least you said you name right.

"Hi, Hot Steve" and fuck. He was flirting, he was perfect and beautiful and tall and handsome and he was flirting with him.

"I, uh, wow" wow? wow??! but Eddie was laughing, and god, his laugh was like honey on an opened wound. The man looked at him again, leaning in.

"So Stevie~" if he doesn't stop singing his name, the nickname, which was super hot, Steve is gonna jump his bones right here, in the midst of a crowd "could i maybe buy you a drink?"

They got their drinks and were talking away, it felt like they've known each other for way longer. The conversation and the flirting were going smoothly until Eddie touched Steve's thigh and made him short circuit and spill the drink.

"Shit, sorry" he grabbed for a napkin to try and wipe the liquid off of the curly haired mans pants.

"It's okay, big boy" god damn it he's gonna drive him crazy with the nicknames.

"Sorry" stop apologizing, he said its okay "fuck i spilled some on myself too, okay wait I'm gonna be right back, don't go anywhere"

Steve excused himself and headed to the bathroom. He splashed water on his face to calm himself down and just then remembered "mascara. fuckkk" he looked in the mirror, great now he looks like a fucking panda, that's just amazing. As he started wiping it away he heard a knock on the door.

"Sorry, I'll be a second" he screamed in response.

"It's me- Eddie, you okay in there? You've been in here for good 10 minutes, you didn't drown, right?" god he kinda wish he did, he made a fool of himsef enough already.

"Y-yeah, I mean no, I mean I'm okay" he stuttered out.

"You sure I don't have to help you? .... give you cpr or anything?" the taller man chuckled. It made him giggle as he opened the door.

"I mean it, I'm okay" (trust me, i had to) he looked at the brown eyed man, he was so close, he blushed.

"You sure you don't need a mouth to mouth?" the vocalist whispered in the air between them. They were inches apart and Steve's blush was running down past his collar now, this is it.

"okay" he was so quiet and Eddie took that answer and pushed him into the bathroom locking the door after them and smacking their lips together.

The kiss started gentle on the rockstars part but Steve was hungry for it. He wrapped his arms around Eddie's neck and pushed them imposibly closer, tilting his head and deepening the kiss. The taller man smiled along his lips.

"Someone's eager" he snickered and Steve just whined and kissed him again tangling his hands into the curls of the other man's hair. That brought a moan out of his mouth which gave Stevie the perfect opportunity to slip in his tongue. As if a switch was flipped the older man grabbed his thigh and sat him on the counter. They stayed like this moans and whimpers until they couldn't breath anymore and the tension got too much. They pulled apart, forheads touching and brething deep and heavy.

"Fuck me" Steve sighed impressed more than asking but metalhead just smiled and responded

"Well if you're asking me this nicely" he leaned in again and kissed the younger man's nose, then mouth again then jaw and moved to suck on his neck.

"Ah, that's not exactly what I meant but I'm not complaining" Eddie pulled away at that which made Steve whine again, disappointed at the lack of contact.

"I can stop if you don't feel comfortable, just say the word and we can be out of here and back to drinking or not even talking if you want to, I don't wanna pressure you into anything" he was dead serious and it made Steve even more hot and bothered.

"That was the hottest thing you could've said, don't stop" and with that his lips were back in Eddie's.

Their hands were roaming and exploring each others bodies but it didn't feel like enough, they were grabbing at each other, pulling their shirts up as they rocked their hips together.

"Fuck, Eds" Steve moaned, and grabbed him stronger, climbing his body, he felt Eddie's dick twitch at that. "You like it when I call you Eds?" he giggled. The older man now awfully shy hid his face in the crook of Steve's neck.

"I think you know the answer to that, god what are you doing to me" they were picking up the pace, their breaths got heavier with each movement. Soon enough they were both at the edge of fucking in a public bar restroom, which isn't the best place for that kind of activity let's be honest here.

The dark blonde man pushed his hips harder into singers making his hand slip. A groan escaped his mouth.

"Not to sound like a virgin but if we keep on going I might just cream my pants, man. I'm so close." he panted and Steve just laughed pulling hik even closer.

"Do it" he whispered "for me?" and that was enough to push Eddie past his limit. "Stevie" he moaned right into his ear sending hot and cold shivers and pushing the younger man to arrive with him.

"Eds, you're amazing" Steve don't say anything stupid you've known each other for like an hour.

But that just made Eddie blush and kiss his neck

"You're breathtaking" the older man said and he squirmed at those words.

They cleaned themselves up and still blushing messes just kinda looked at each other awkwardly as if they didn't just make one another come in a public restroom at a show.

"You wanna come back to mine and watch some movie and order pizza?" to be honest it caught Steve off guard, he thought maybe a rockstar like Eddie would just get what he wanted and leave.

"I'd like that, yes" their fingers tangled with each other as they held hands. " I'd like that very much, Eds"

The song starts when Wilhelm is in Erik's room, while he burns the picture of his brother and August. It's fitting that the lyrics are partly about death, about telling people not to miss the dead person. Wilhelm misses Erik so much though. This is a good choice for a season that is going to be a lot about grieving. And the "Is it God that you see?" when we get to August sending messages to Wilhelm asking him to forgive him: yeah, will there be a redemption for you?

Aldrig igen, Omar Rudberg (Cherrie & Stormzy)

Being alone, I'm the strongest It's never happening again ... Because I don't wanna feel like this I don't wanna feel like this I don't wanna feel like this Who would wanna feel like this ... It won't happen again

So I discovered during this analysis that it is not a little snippet of a song that Simon created but the cover of an actual Swedish song ^^ He sings it while Marcus is listening in his back. The song reflects completely what Simon is feeling: the break up happened just before the Christmas break, so not that long ago, and he's still feeling so heartbroken. But he doesn't want to keep feeling that way, he doesn't want this painful situation to happen again (seems fateful that it is when Marcus enters the picture: Simon says it there, he will not fall in love and get his heart broken again, so too bad for you Marcus, but you will not get a love story here! Simon will say it himself later on in the season "why can't I fall in love with him?"). The entire song is actually super interesting lyrics-wise because it's about getting over a break up, feeling betrayed by someone who lied, and deciding that you actually deserve better. "Please stop stressing me, I need to breathe... First you wanna leave, now you wanna stay?": it's really about an ex who doesn't know what he wants and keeps changing his mind, changing the rules. Which is what Wilhelm is kinda doing (saying it's not him in the video to the world but then coming to Simon to ask to keep things going, and the the whole beginning of this season where he's gonna try to get Simon's back even though his situation hasn't changed). So yeah these 2 first songs of the season are really fitting to both characters and a very good idea of what the season is gonna be about : angry and grieving Wilhelm vs heartbroken, betrayed (but trying to find his boundaries) Simon

A song with very suggestive lyrics, which less very little to the imagination about what the students are gonna get up to at this party ^^' "Ripe for the picking even when I'm not in season": can we also talk about Sara getting her initiation and being thrown into this classist privileged Hillerska life while still being an outsider? There lyrics feel like some kind of metaphor for her wanting so badly to be integrated, to feel ready for that. Or to think she's ready for that, while the reality might not be the same.

The infamous karaoke "date". I like that the first sentences are sung by Marcus, because yes he got immediately interested in Simon after meeting him. But then he passes the mic to Simon who has to sing "cut me like a knife" and, he doesn't know it yet, but Marcus is quite toxic in the end. He is not gonna treat him well at all, not gonna respect him and his boundaries. Their "relationship" is not gonna help him or heal him at all, it's just gonna hurt him. And we cannot ignore the very (NOT) subtle lyrics when Wilhelm watches the Insta story of them singing: "it's not real". Because it's not. It's not a date. It's not love. It's nothing. And yeah, he's gonna be under the "illusion" of them being together and happy, but it's nothing more than that, an illusion. (And special mention to Wilhelm going feral and threatening the whole monarchy because his ex-boyfriend is on a date: Wilhelm baby, I love you so much!)

Seize the power, Yonaka

Woke up this morning I feel so fucking important I look in the mirror I'm different I finally made a decision ... They hurt you and make you feel helpless They're not brave like you They're too scared to do Anything that's different Anything that's new I don't need lessons I do what I want it's refreshing ... So this song is for the end credits of the episode but it's an amazing one and so important! We just saw Wilhelm yell at his mother and threaten the Courts because he doesn't want to be Crown Prince, doesn't want the responsibilities, doesn't want to be a puppet to them, doesn't want to sacrifice Simon and their relationship. And the first lyrics feel fitting: he's mad (and the lights in this bedroom are red and twisty: what better image to represent the rage coiling inside of him at this moment?), he "woke up" after being faced with the reality of the consequences of his lying about the sex tape. With the reality that Simon is on a date with someone else. And gosh yeah, these people, your own mother, they hurt you so badly and made you feel helpless. Making you follow their orders with not agency of your own. But you're gonna be so brave, and different, and strong! I love the chorus "I'm the voice in your head" because he's angry and screaming and threatening but nothing is very effective in the end (we'll see that next episode). He doesn't seem to have power yet. But if he listens to the little voice inside, if he takes the time to do that (and he will! Thanks to Boris for helping him doing some introspection and realizing things), he will realize that the power is here, deep inside him. That the strenght to do what's right for him, for Simon, well he has it. He just needs to close his eyes, reach inside and "take it"

my very mixed but overall positive opinions on everybody's waiting:

Let's start with the negative: I'm sorry but I don't think I'll ever like the way Bojan's voice sounds when he sings in english. There's nothing wrong with it, it just somehow really weirds me out. Maybe this makes no sense but he just kinda... doesn't sound like himself? Reminds me of those AI covers I see on Tiktok.

The lyrics here are miles better than ssol but oh well, the bar is in hell with that one. Honestly I mostly tuned them completely out, cause everything happening around them was much more interesting and demanding my attention more. They are not bad, they do their job in delivering the story they want to tell, but they're also not anything amazing.

Now on to the instrumental: Honestly I had to give this a couple listens before I could even form an opinion, cause I was so taken back by how different this was from what I thought it was going to be. My overall opinion: I like it! If they wanna bring more of this kind of experimental vibe to their music, I'm super excited to see what they will make in the future! I really loved the parts with Kris singing, as well as Jan's chill keyboard tunes. However I don't think it's perfect. I really can't explain it in other way but to say that it's lacking some kind of special thing that would tie all the different ideas together and raise it from good song to a great one. As my sister said when I played the song for her: "this changed the plot out of nowhere like three times before becoming a joker out song and I don't know how to feel about it."

I can already tell I'm going to give this much more listens than I ever will for ssol studio version. I get why some people say they need a few listens to get into it, it's one of those songs where you can enjoy the ride much more once you know what the destination is. Although I think the ending could be even better, once you get there the rest of the journey makes sense and feels like it was worth it.

Anyways, I'm super excited to hear how this one is gonna sound live. There's been multiple cases with JO where I didn't perfectly connect with a song - before I heard it live, and suddenly it became one of my favorites. This might very well be one of those cases.
