I'm slowly getting through devil may cry v and got inspired enough to doodle again. Sure they aren't polished but I love looking at others' sketch dumps, it's like looking at a smorgasbord of ideas. So here you go. Read more for close ups of the other doodles. The ID in alt are the same as written in the text.
[I.D. Digital art. A boy in a shirt hoodie, Nero, sits cross legged as he leans backwards to smile up at his companion. Said companion is a tall horned knight, Nelo Angelo, kneeling behind Nero. Nelo gazes to the side, but braces his broadsword by Nero, and his cape drapes around where Nero's sitting. Nero is rendered in light blue and red, Nelo is rendered in light blue, and they're brightly illuminated. End I.D.]
(Was thinking of 'Love Seeketh Not Itself to Please' by Indigomoods on ao3 while doing this one).
[I.D. A number of digital art sketches, most prominently featuring Dante and Vergil from the Devil May Cry series. From top to bottom, right to left:
Headshots of two boys, Dante and Vergil. Short comic of a man (Dante) ruffling a boy's (Vergil's) hair. Sketch of two boys on a couch, one (Dante) looking concerned at the other (Vergil) in foetal position. Branches curl under the couch. Sketch of child Dante and Vergil in red and blue, running hand in hand. Thumbprint sized chibi child Dante and Vergil. Nero and Nelo sitting together.
Semirealistic headshot (DMCV Vergil) in blue. Boy (Dante) curled in a fire, and fire demon (SDT Dante) gazing at his palm against a black background. Loose sketches of a man's head, roughly scribbled out except one, and an angry cat with a sword. They're labelled in blue and red writing. Side profile of a young man in blues (DMC3 Vergil), face shadowed, a yellow ribbon curled in the background. Side profile of DMC3 Vergil. End I.D.]
[I.D. 4 black and white digital pen cartoony sketches of child Dante and Vergil. Head and bust shot of a boy with slicked back hair and black turtleneck (Vergil) looking right. His brows are furrowed, eyes narrowed; he looks unimpressed. Below is a head and bust shot of a boy with shoulder length hair and white shirt (Dante) looking left with wide eyes and a fang toothed, wide grin. Centre close up of a cloaked boy (Vergil) glaring up, brow furrowed. His hair hangs over a shadowed face. One narrowed eye is visible. Right sketch is of a cloaked boy (Vergil) hugging a book to his chest, referencing a Visions of V panel. His one visible eye is wide as he gazes down with a small expression. End I.D.]
[I.D. Coloured digital art over a black background. Two panels. Panel one is child Dante, arms hugging his legs as he sits within a fire raging around him. He's buried his face in his arms. Panel two is an adult Dante in his demonic SDT form. He gazes down at his clawed hand while the fiery core in his chest glows as the main source of light, casting shadows and red light against his armoured form. The tips of his claws seem to glow in the reflected light. End I.D.]
[I.D. Messy sketch of child Vergil and Dante, running hand in hand. The two look at each other with smiles, Dante with a wide grin and Vergil with closed lips and determined brows. Their full expressions aside from the smile cannot be seen; Dante's hair whips back and covers his face while Vergil's face is eyeless. They're softly rendered in light blue and red, and bright lighting. End I.D.]
[I.D. Messy sketch of child Vergil and Dante sitting on a couch, shot from behind the couch. Dante directs a concerned gaze to Vergil, his hand braced on the couch back as he leans closer. Vergil only looks down. His arms are curled around his knees. From the angle, his expression cannot be seen aside from a small frown. Under the couch slithers Qliphoth tree roots. End I.D.]
[I.D. Chibi doodle of child Vergil and Dante, holding hands. Light blue and red ovals were airbrushed on the page, and a pen lined out their features. They have round cheek patches, like budgies. Vergil has a cartoony pout and a book tucked under an arm, labelled with a V; Dante has a toothy grin and is making a bunny ears hand sign. End I.D.]
[I.D. 'DANTE' is evenly block printed in blue pen. Underneath are what looks to be the start of three portraits of Dante in black pen, but they're roughly scribbled out. The most detailed of the three scribbled out portraits is Dante's grinning side profile. He had sunglasses on. The only intact portrait is a shot of Dante from behind, from the chest up and face not visible aside from a grin. Carried on his back is the Devil Sword Dante, rendered in more detail than Dante.
Meanwhile 'VERGIL' is written in orange/red pen, but strikethroughed. Written above instead is 'PURR-GIL!!', an arrow pointing at a doodle of a cat holding a roughly drawn katana(Yamato). The cat is grimacing with furrowed brows. It has spiky fur on its head, a spiky curled tail, a thorn pattern on its arms resembling Vergil's coat sleeves, and fat round blushy cheeks. End I.D.]
[I.D. Semirealistic rendering of DMCV Vergil from the neck up in three quarter view. He's painted in blues, with soft red shadows. He glares at the viewer, brows furrowed. His irises are a soft red, and he has eye bags. His lips are somewhat glossy. To the side is the blue color palette. End I.D.]
[I.D. Stylised depiction of DMC3 Vergil glaring downwards in profile, from the chest up. He's rendered in blues, his face shadowed from the light against his back. Running over his skin are cracked gold lines, reminiscent of kintsugi. In the background curls a yellow ribbon in the same gold. He's wearing a sleeveless turtleneck and cravat. End I.D.]
[I.D. Stylised black and white lineart of DMC3 Vergil glaring in profile, lips sneering, from the neck up. He's in a coat and cravat. End I.D.]
[I.D. Messy comic.
Panel 1: DMCV Dante ruffling child Vergil's hair. Dante's face is out of the panel
Vergil (grimacing): "Dante!"
Panel 2: Vergil's staved off the hair ruffling, lifting up Dante's hand with both his hands. His brows are furrowed as he looks up at Dante. In the background is a laughing sound effect, that tapers off. 'HA HA ha...'
Panel 3: Adult Dante gazing down at child Vergil, arm hovering over him. His expression seems sad, despite the small smile.
Dante: ... I missed ya, Verge.
Vergil gazes up at Dante, a small question mark by his head. End I.D.]

Hey I just wanted to tell you that I’m really uncomfortable with the fact you draw nsfw of duck and fakir, I really wish you wouldn’t cause even though their aged up in the drawings it’s still very icky to think to draw nsfw of those characters when they are minors in the show :( I don’t want to unfollow because your honestly such a huge inspiration to me as an artist so I just hope you’ll take this into consideration
Some things to consider:
It is perfectly understandable, and 100% okay, to be uncomfortable, with ANYTHING I create. How you feel about my art is valid and you should only ever follow me if you are comfortable interacting with what you see on this blog.
To follow up on number 1, I have no problems with you unfollowing my account for ANY reason. This is the internet. You set your boundaries. I would never want you to compromise your personal safety over my blog.
NSFW art will ONLY ever be shared on this account as a link to a locked twitter account that is NOT safe for minors. If the age of an account is not shared, I will assume you are a minor and block you. Any images shared are cropped and safe to share on this blog. I will also always tag these pieces with NSFT (Not Safe For Tumblr) so you can block the tags on these posts and avoid them.
It is also perfectly understandable, and 100% okay, for me to post whatever content I like about whatever I am interested in, regardless of how that makes YOU feel. Number 1 and number 4 CAN and DO coexist and both have validity.
Yes, they are minors in the show. No, the pieces I make are NOT of them during the canon timeline of the show.
"Aging up" a character happens in real life - its called "aging", alternatively, "time passing" which happens, to all of us, regardless of our current age. This is also a show about talking animals. We don't HAVE to obey reality and law, but I choose to in this context.
That out of the way, some personal thoughts:
The way I engage with these two characters, in particular, is very, very personal. I often inject what I did not get (a loving relationship with someone I can trust, the freedom to explore the relationship both romantically and sexually and be safe, fundamental milestones and experiences for first-time relationships) into their dynamics because that's how art works. We put ourselves into everything, stories do not happen in a vacuum. As a queer writer with a difficult-to-admit, traumatic experience with sexuality and romance, I think it would be incredibly cruel to ban both myself, and artists like me, from exploring what was denied us through characters that make us feel safe. Not to mention, for me at least, the media we consume grows WITH us. I was a minor when the show aired, and when I consumed it. They were minors with me. Now, they are consenting adults with me.
I do not share this with you, or anyone else, for pity reasons, but for context. I take character exploration very seriously, and try to help characters grow while honoring where they came from in canon. But even if I didn't, that would not stop me, nor anyone else, from having access to a basic right as an artist.
Tl;Dr -- I want you to feel safe, and I will install measures to make things that make you feel unsafe as optional as possible, above hiding what makes me feel safe. If that results in an unfollow, please honor both our boundaries.
EDIT: I will not answer any more asks expanding on this topic, as I think it’s redundant and I’m not interested in discussing the topic further - I appreciate your thoughts and concerns regardless 🙏🏻

“The Other Side” (Touchstarved OC Rewrite)
So I made a parody of "The Other Side" from The Greatest Showman with my Touchstarved Hound OC, Alon. Here, she's trying to partner up with Mhin to — as thieves are wont to do — pull off a Senobium caper, but it takes a bit of back and forth with someone who's so used to being on their own.
Alon: Right here, right now, I put the offer out.
I don't wanna chase you down but I know you see it.
We form a team and we will find the key
To all the answers we both know we’re seekin'.
So trade that tragical for somethin' magical (Mhin: Tragical’s not a word.)
And if it's crazy, live a little crazy!
You can try the same old schtick and hope that something finally clicks.
Or change the game and schtick with me…
Alon: Don't you wanna get away
From this Lowtown part you gotta play?
Then I got what you need, so come with me, we’ll pull a heist!
It’ll take you to the other side!
'Cause you can do like you do or you can run with me.
Stay in the dark or you finally take a leap.
Oh, damn! Suddenly you're free to fly!
We’ll get us to the other side!
Mhin: Okay, my friend, you want to count me in.
Well, I hate to tell you but it just won't happen.
So thanks, but no. I think I'm good to go.
‘Cause I quite like the dark you say I'm trapped in.
I’ll say it’s bold of you, this crazy plot you brewed.
That nerve is something, really, it's something.
But I work best alone, and your plan sounds like a joke at most —
We can’t afford to play the fools.
Mhin: Don't you know that I'm okay
With this Lowtown part I have to play?
'Cause I take what I need and I don't need a ride-or-die.
I will take myself to the other side.
So go and do as you do. Run off and leave me be.
No need for change, you can go on and keep your key.
Oh, damn, can't you see I'm doing fine?
I don’t need your help to save my life.
Alon: Now is this really how you plan to get past those gates?
‘Nother vine, ‘nother try to carry all of the weight?
Mhin: If I join up with you,
Someone is bound to get hurt.
We could die, be confined, try choosing which one is worse!
Alon: Or we could finally win a little, finally breathe a little.
We could take back our freedom to dream
And it’ll clear a path to cure our achin'.
Take our curses, start 'em breakin'.
Now that's a change that seems worth embracin’!
But I guess I'll leave that up to you…?
Mhin: …Fine, you’ve intrigued me, but my services are costly.
So how much actual coin would you be offering?
Alon: Fair enough, you want insurance for the action.
Seven gold, come on, let’s shake and make it happen!
Mhin: I wasn't born this morning, eighteen would be just fine.
Alon: Ack! Why not just ditch the heist and try to bribe your way inside?
Mhin: Fifteen.
Alon: I'd do eight!
Mhin: Twelve.
Alon: Maybe nine.
Mhin: Ten.
Both: Don't you wanna get away
To a whole new part you're gonna play?
Then I got what you need, so come with me, we’ll take the ride
To the other side!
So you can do like you do or you can run with me.
Forget the gates 'cause we’re going to take the leap!
Oh, damn, suddenly we're free to fly.
We're going to the other side!
Mhin: So if you do like I do (Alon: To the other side)
So if you do like me (Alon: We're goin' to the other side)
Both: 'Cause if we do, we're going to the other side.
We're going to the other side!

okokokok so on the topic of botw/totk link having little to no emotion in cutscenes. ive said it in other posts but in botw it honestly makes sense given his present scenario and you are given a pretty good reason for it in the past. he's under a lot of pressure and he's just trying to do his job. in totk it does not work because he should have new memories now and he has memories with these new sages and with zelda and yet he's all but stonefaced with this people. there are some micro expressions and that's fine. but to me the problem with his lack of emoting in cut scenes is that it makes him very devoid of personality. he doesn't talk, so you're going to get the most of his personality from the way he moves and emotes, but in the cutscenes he just comes off as... dutiful stoic knight. with no meaningful feelings towards these people supporting him.
i'm not asking for him to be animated with all of these flourishes to give him some bombastic personality, but i just want to see him... react to stuff. see him express some extra emotion asides from determination.
people argue against botw/totk link having no expression by pointing out that he DOES emote quite a bit in gameplay and pointing that that there! there's his personality! and yes! i see it! and that kind of makes his lack of emotion in cutscenes worse! he can be and has been animated with personality and preferences and reactions and for some reason none of it is in the story important cutscenes! normally it's the other way around!
this isn't even fully about him having minimal expressions: i get it when people say it's maybe an autism thing, and that makes sense! i personally don't do a whole lot of expression when i'm under pressure, so i get it! that makes sense! i don't necessarily want him to have the facial expressions that skyward sword link had, i just want to see some shred of visual personality out of him in these cut scenes.
i mean... in ocarina of time, when the great deku tree is done telling his little story, you see that link has been sitting down. that's... something! stuff like the way he gets out of his bed and the speed at which he walks or runs in cut scenes... the engines oot and oot3d were done on can't allow for the same kinds of animations as botw/totk, but we still got little bits of personality just out of the way he moved his body. you emote with your body as much as your face. i may have a fairly straight face, but the way i may move gives away how i feel and how i act.
i wanted something like what we got in that first scene under hyrule castle- i wanted more of the moment when he gently takes zelda's torch because he knows her, understands that she may need both of her hands, and is willing to hold this torch for her while she grabs her stuff. you get a bit of personality out of that, you get that he knows zelda and how she works to some degree, and you get that there is trust between them because of this.
as far as i remember, this is the only instance of link being animated in such a way that suggests personality and his relationships with others. he emotes and is animated plenty outside of story beats, so he's very lively in dialogue options and little extra cutscenes, but in story beats, where he is interacting with his friends and discovering history and incredible secrets and trying to help the people he cares about and the world he cares about- it's all washed away, and it's kind of frustrating. i don't want anything big, just subtle little things, like his taking zelda's torch for her. something that isn't just him interacting with his environment and tepidly reacting- something that suggests little things about him and his opinions.
