Title: Aladdin and the King of Thieves (1996) Vote: 6.5/10
We finally witness the wedding we've been waiting for for two films and three seasons of the animated series. Incredible.
However, someone should explain to me why we are faced with Aladdin's father, believed to be dead. The character literally appears out of nowhere and without any motivation. They could have omitted him from the movie and the story would still have worked.
Furthermore, he follows an absurdly fast path of redemption by retracing what Aladdin had already done in the first film with the difference that Aladdin was a boy who was forced to steal out of hunger while his father has been a hardened thief for decades and yet in a couple of days he knows the son and redeems himself?
I understand that the protagonist's father cannot be a criminal but this is exaggerated.

when you think about this: disney’s live action movies are in some way just fanfictions based on original animations

Best Music in Animated Disney Movies Semi Finals!
Tumblr media
Three round of polls will give you such a crick in the neck!
Oooh! Wowie! We're really narrowing it down now! How many of you thought these were the four who were going to make it this far? So who are you all going to send to the finals and who is going to be regulated to the bronze match? Will it be the Tale As Old As Time? The Bell Ringer? A Diamond In The Rough? or The Savior of China?
propaganda is still welcome
Semi Final Round will be posted June 24
Beauty and the Beast (1991) v Aladdin (1992)
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) v Mulan (1998)
Now all of Tumblr knows which movies are here.

When on youtube found this amazing MEP on self-interest (thank you @airasora ) and just made this edit, making also my 186th edit. MEP stragproductions starting at 0:23 so happy to see She-Hulk from 1996′s animated Incredible Hulk some love, as she the scene here (till 0:31 seconds mark), on fifth grade me, watching a rerun, just ooooooo. ;D I had to choose for haircut and glasses, Percy for a self-interest, as myself. Yes I have my nose pierced and sometimes wear plain clip on earrings, as shown fake gages. XD I did though forget a couple more cuties who I feel get enough attention so I listed below.

I included fictional crushes that more well known and I feel are more fleshed out characters. Yes, not many fictional men (such as Kale who yay @airasora uses in a ship of hers) I like, but I am queer. XD

pss psss.. you remember that scene when aladdin disguises himself as his dad/the king of thieves outfit to break out cassim.. yeah I think about that fit a lot/what younger cassim would look like (though we all love the dilf he is now ofc lol
Ahhhh cool that you stopped by my blog, hehe!
Ahahh mate, you have great taste.
As for the outfit in that scene- I had a headcanon afterwards in my head that Aladdin could borrow clothes (any clothes at all) from Cassim, purely because he likes wearing his father's outfits. But I've never drawn anything related to that.
And as for young Cassim - yes, I've had thoughts of that (not that often), as I'm generally hardcore obsessed with older men, so without much enthusiasm, but with interest in these thoughts of his youth. But even if I imagine him young - only with a beard and moustache, I love it very much (dear men, please, grow a beard and moustache :D ).
Well, that's all I got. I've been playing around a bit.

Now that we've got the salt out of the way..... here's to POSITIVE votes on the live-action remakes!
Once again, I'm only counting DIRECT remakes, not spin-offs or sequels. I decided to cut Cinderella since most people agree that it is the One Good Remake lol. Whether or you not you agree with that is besides the point: which OTHER remake is second-best to Cinderella 2015?
Happy voting! ❤
