ARE YOU IN OR OUT?? Also Robin Williams didn't voice Genie in Return of Jafar, but he did for this one! Aladdin's dad shows up, Jasmine and Aladdin get married - good stuff all around

The Lion King 1 1/2 {original-The Lion King (1994)}

It follows Timon and his New York Jewish meerkat family. The jokes are great

It is a masterpiece that adds to the movie while making it better and not worse. The dig a tunnel song is amazing. It's cute to see snippets of them raising Simba.

Welcome to the Fourty Thieves/Out of Thin Air

Another Keys world cover done! This one was a struggle babes, would you believe there isn't a lot of great character reference out there for Aladdin and the King of Thieves? Shame, because its pretty good as far as direct to DVD Disney sequels go (and Aladdin's dad is a fuckin dilf there i said it). Anyway, these chapters in Keys are some of my favorites, largely because they feature our first in-story interaction between Sora and Xehanort and its still one of my favorite scenes in all of Keys! Also the start of Sora's steady Moral Decline, and his runaway arc, gotta love it. ^_^

Ok, but i love Iago's character arc over the course of the trilogy and tv series. He goes from Jafar's evil lackey to . . . technically no longer evil. He doesn't stop being greedy or lazy or selfish or pessimistic or cynical. He is still prone to seeing the worst in people and manipulating others to his own ends (tho it is more often then not a case of Iago's cynical viewpoint hitting a nerve and him exasperating the situation). The noble choice isn't his first option. It isn't even his second or third. But by the end there, if pushed hard enough, Iago would do the right thing even if it involved sacrifice. Iago did learn to care deeply about others.

I love how he was shown to have positive character growth, to go through a massive change and become a better person, but still be an extremely flawed individual.

I love how in the end he goes off with Cassim who had gone through a very similar character arc (giving up the treasure he'd spent his whole life searching for to save his son). In many ways they are two peas in a pod and they are perfect for each other.

It is a fantastic character arc and i love it so.

I Choose ones that are actually sequels, not prequels or inbetweeners (sorry lion king 1/2 and Bambi 2). Also had to be direct to video, not theater release (I'm very sad I couldnt include Return to Neverland but it had a theatrical release).

Theres still others that fit this bill, but I selected ones that I've actually seen/own or ones I thought were "bigger"/better known

I think something that makes the Aladdin Sequels and Spinoffs better than other Disney Movie tie-ins is that there's a much stronger continuity than other "secondary" Disney media. This is even present in the Hercules Crossover Episode, which surprisingly makes more references to the sequels and the TV show than the actual movie:

Jafar is dead and complains about his "treacherous parrot", which is a reference to Return of Jafar, music from the TV show is reused and Aladdin's clothes and the fact he and Jasmine are now married is a reference to the King of Thieves.

Sadly, Disney only tends to reference the "main films" nowadays, if Princess Jasmine were to have a cameo in a TV show, then you can expect her to only reference events from the first movie, if at all.

One of my favorite things about Descendants is like Disney has so many characters it’s pretty easy to make oc’s. You want a Cecaelia that’s not Uma’s sister? Could be Morgana’s kid. You want your oc to be a memaid and still live on the Isle? Could be Marina’s kid. You want them from the 101 Dalmatians story? Boom Anita and Roger have a baby. You want your oc to be from Greek mythology origins but not related to Hercules King Triton or Mal? The fates are moms now. You want a good mermaid that’s not Ariel? She’s got six sisters take your pick. Or he’ll you can even be Melody’s kid. Like Aladdin and want a villain kid oc from his story that’s not related to Jay? Welcome to the forty thieves babe. Want a Snow White oc to keep Evie company on the Isle? Congrats Huntsman, you’re a father. You want Mal to have a cousin? Aside from Hercules, King Triton and allegedly Ursula and therefore Morgana Olympus is full bby take your pick. Hell maybe your oc is the child of Megara’s ex she sold her soul for. Or the centaur. Or Phil, or Achilles. The possibilities are endless.
