Title: The Last Love of Arsène Lupin (1936) Author: Maurice Leblanc Vote: 7/10
Posthumous story that could serve as an acceptable ending to the adventures of the gentleman thief. From how it is described above he understands that both Lupine and Leblanc have aged and their ideals have changed although they have not been entirely renounced. Lupine remains a thief but if at the beginning of his career he stole only for himself, now he wants to steal for the community and leave a positive legacy for posterity. One of its new objectives is the education of young people, a strange idea considering who it comes from. I don't want to say that a thief and swindler cannot be a good educator but I have some doubts about the study subjects.
What also made me smile was a soliloquy that Leblanc makes Lupine recite in which he denounces the crimes of England and its hegemony over half the world (we are more or less in the years between 1920 and 1930) because French colonialism was not certainly less ferocious than the English one. If your hands are dirty with flour, don't make fun of the miller.

Title: Beyond the Wall of Sleep  (1919) Author: H.P.Lovecraft Vote: 6/10 I tell you that while giving the necessary explanations it made me raise even more questions as if there was a second part that Lovecraft never wrote.

Title: The white ship (1919) Author: H.P.Lovecraft Vote: 7/10 A story that tastes like a dream and that after having shown us a magnificent world drags us into a nightmare due to the protagonist's greed to know and see who will probably forever regret his mistake.

Title: Legacy of Dorn (2018)
Author: Mike Lee
Vote: 6/10
Good book but with a problem called structure. it was written as if it were a succession of campaigns. The space marines have a mission, they complete it and then move on to the next in a repetitive and dead-end pattern that changes location every 20 pages but repeats itself cyclically.
The book isn't badly written but it can't possibly be 90% fighting and only 10% seeing the characters doing anything other than shooting and that 10% is well written too. That's a shame.

Title: Pick Up a Match (1972) Author: Isaac Asimov Score: 7.5/10 Interesting and amusing tale of chemistry mixed with a good dose of fantasy. Too bad the poor teacher got no credit but ameni got a little consolation. Once again Asimov mistreats the educational sector and its representatives who are mistreated although in the stories they are always positive and useful figures.

Title: The Caves of Steel (1954) Author: Isaac Asimov Vote: 8/10 A really good book in which a robot and a policeman who distrusts robots have to work together to solve a murder case. Interesting premise that allows us to talk about the role of progress and technology. To give strength to the book there is also the investigative side which is the real fulcrum of the story and not just an excuse to talk about other topics. The clues are there and if a person is good he can solve the mystery even on his own.

Title: All the Troubles of the World (1958) Author: Isaac Asimov Vote: 7/10 Asimov tends to charge his robots with enormous sensitivity and they act accordingly. They fall in love, hate each other, go crazy and, as in this case, attempt suicide. Multivac is a super computer that solves all of humanity's problems every day. From the most trivial ones to those involving entire nations. Even his supercomputer, however, has a limit and becoming more and more human Multivac ends up suffering from this situation. Simple story as a premise but complicated as execution and with potentially catastrophic outcomes.

Title: Satisfaction Guaranteed (1951) Author: Isaac Asimov Vote: 6/10 Love and robots are not a nice combination even if everything is done for the good of man as taught by the first law of robotics.

Title: Marooned off Vesta (1939) Author: Isaac Asimov Vote: 6/10 A good story but which lacks the immersive strength of other stories, while containing within itself the germ of many other stories that he will write in the following years.

Title: Zig zig (1975)
Vote: 6.5/10
The drama of two prostitutes who try to live from day to day struggling with life on the street and their dreams. Sometimes dreams appear close and seem to come true only to end up again in ashes and death. Heavy movie to watch and cynical but not bad.

Title: Le novelle marinaresche di Mastro Catrame (1894) Author: Emilio Salgari Vote: 6.5/10 An old sea dog is forced to tell stories. The stories are good and well written and manage to drag you into that world of sailors and ships. Salgari describes the character of the old sailor who never goes ashore very well. It almost seems like we have him in front of us with his pipe in his mouth and his eye winking.

Title: True Love (1977) Author: Isaac Asimov Score: 8/10 I tell you that in some ways it scared me. The scientist pours so much of himself into the machine that it convinces itself that it is him and falls in love. The small problem is that in order to live his dream of love he must first get rid of his rival, his creator.

Title: Young Doctors in Love (1982) Vote: 7/10 Fun film without any hidden criticism of the American healthcare system and this is already new. Nothing notable except that it's a good movie to spend time with.

Title: War (1913) Author: Jack London Vote: 6/10 Story about the survival of a soldier during a war. It's interesting but unfortunately I've already read many stories too similar to this one to fully appreciate it.

Title: The Skull (1952) Author: Philip K. Dick Vote: 7.5/10 A story that I found fascinating. Even if it follows the usual trick of time rewinding to get back on its tracks and the protagonist being trapped in a wheel from which he cannot escape, I liked the theme of man's will which, despite not being able to free himself from his destiny, includes the consequences of the gesture and accepts them by carrying out the role imposed on him with courage.

Title: Ciò che vide il portalettere (1895)
Author: Arthur Conan Doyle
Vote: 7.5/10
A story that is a tragedy in every part. A worthy imitation of ancient Greek dramatic works about the return of a soldier from war. Unfortunately in the meantime he had been presumed dead and his wife had rebuilt her life. A pain for the one who returns and a crisis for those who unknowingly left him behind. The only consequence is an identity crisis and insanity. It would have been better if he hadn't found his memory and never returned.

Title: The Haunter of the Graveyard (1975) Author: J. Vernon Shea Vote: 6.5/10 Interesting story until almost the end when the protagonist is attacked. I didn't quite understand this abrupt ending which seems to come without any warning and turns out to be brutal and bloody, completely unrelated to the rest of the story. Another thing that bothered me is the excessive references to Lovecraft. A couple of subtle quotes can help the atmosphere but in this case it's really exaggerated, it's really too many, almost three per page towards the end of the story.
