not sure when the friends and family get to hisui, but picturing them showing up when kuro and akari have already become the heroes of hisui is kinda funny lol.
this is SO funny, therefore it is the best idea. After they get back to Jubilife, still reeling from the revelation that Akari is in charge now, they're given a place to stay... and then Kuro and Akari just sort of disappear for awhile. Emmet hopes it is to get medical treatment, although he's fairly certain his brother's wound stopped bleeding at some point. They don't know if they should try and go find them, or if that would be testing their luck.
They're not being immediately hostile to them, which is... a win, they suppose? They can see Ingo and Dawn in them more now than they ever did back in the present, so they want to feel optimistic, but also... they've been here for awhile, with nothing to reinforce their brainwashing, but they're still definitely far from their old selves. They don't know what to think.
Elesa and Barry are sitting outside, when Laventon calls out to them. Through speaking with him, they learn about the frenzied noble situation and then... find out the ones who put a stop to it were Kuro and Akari? And they're considered heroes now? Arceus. What a wild development. They feel proud, but it's also the weirdest feeling in the goddamn world.

Akari shares with Ingo a bag of candy she found while distortion diving, though Ingo more appreciates the familiar feelings that sharing candy brings back than anything.
Happy Halloween!! I wrote this off a request an anon gave me about Akari sharing Halloween candy with Ingo. Hope you enjoy!! This is my first bit of writing that I’ve actually published in a while, and it feel like this writing in particular is a lot of nothing, but it was fun just to get something out again!!
OR read here on AO3!
Enjoy!
————
“I am finding it very hard to believe that you dislike chocolate this much.”
“Come on,” From where she sat on the dojo bench, Akari held her hand out to Ingo, the shiny, brightly-colored wrapper in her palm already unfoiled to reveal the candy inside. “It’s not that I don’t like them, I just like other candy more. And I can’t eat all of these myself, so I gotta pick and choose. Also, you have to take it, I already opened it.”
Looking back at her from his position by the dojo, Ingo’s expression was one of discernment — she could certainly just wrap it back up and save it for later. She also could have done that with the last six candies she had handed to him. But eventually, he relented and took it. Popping it into his mouth with an obligatory “Thank you”, Ingo returned to casting his glance at the training grounds’ gate.
Unlike Akari, he had not realized how sorely he had specifically missed sweet, modernized chocolate until she had first given him a piece several minutes earlier, when she had come by the training grounds to see him with a big mystery bag in her hands.
“Look at this, Ingo!” She had called out to him, holding the packaging up against the sunset sky for him to see — orange and purple, it was full of colorful wrappers, and seemed to be decorated with ghost pokemon (some silhouettes he recognized much more clearly than others). “I found this in one of the distortions! Help me eat it!”
A moderately-sized, unopened bag of cheap assorted candies, wrapped in shiny foils that obscured the flavor and kept its brand a surprise until it was opened. No doubt it had been pulled from some store shelf, if not an unfortunate person’s cabinet. Akari had been unwrapping the candies one by one; if it was revealed to be a fruit chew or something of the sort, she ate it herself, but the chocolates were handed off to Ingo.
Reaching her hand back onto the bag, Akari fished out another wrapper and twisted it open, revealing a green gummy inside that vaguely resembled a cherubi’s shape.
“Gummy.” She announced to no one in particular, chewing on it and stuffing the wrapper into her satchel. Picking out and unwrapping another before she had even finished her candy, she held it out to Ingo. “Chocolate. Here.”
“Ah, thank you,” Ingo received it with waning enthusiasm, but dropped it into his mouth regardless. “Have you perhaps considered sharing with your friend Rei as well?”
“Yeah, but last time I did, he got sick the next day. He said he doesn’t want them anymore.”
“How many have you had?” Watching Akari pull out yet another candy from the bag, Ingo was beginning to wonder if she was planning to stop at some point, or keep pushing through until the bag was empty. Knowing her, he believed it would be the latter.
“I don’t know, maybe… Nine? Ten?” The teen did not look up from the candy she was currently unwrapping. “I haven’t been counting.”
Ingo looked away, back towards the dojo’s gates as Akari peeked through the small opening she had made in her wrapper. He was acutely aware of how anything as processed and sugary as candy would not mix well with a digestive system that had become accustomed to a Hisuian diet — concerning both Akari, and himself.
“I advise taking these tracks a little slower; there is no need to rush towards the end of the line in just one night, lest you end up like Rei.”
“Oh man, if you think I’ll get sick off of this, you should really see all the junk I eat that I don’t bring back to share with you,” Akari brushed it off with a laugh as if his recommendation was a joke, before holding another unwrapped candy out to him again. “Chocolate. Here you go.”
“...Thank you.” Ingo echoed once again, tentatively receiving the bite-size candy bar. He chewed it with a look on his face – hard to discern, but appearing to be guilty for appreciating it. He waved Akari off preemptively with a hand before she could even unwrap another candy. “But please, no more; Miss Zisu is supposed to return back from the hall at any moment to accompany me to The Wallflower. I don’t want to spoil my appetite.”
“Well all you have to do is stop taking them, then!” Akari’s voice was tickled with amusement. Plastic crinkled as another wrapper was opened; thankfully for Ingo’s sake, bright, soft pink was revealed under the shiny covering. “Ugh, Taffy.”
Ingo cleared his throat as Akari bit into it anyways, having nothing to say at being called out – he certainly could refuse, but a part of him didn’t want to. And it went beyond the plain craving for the processed sweetness after such a long period of going without it.
Something about the flavor was obviously familiar to him, but that wasn’t exactly what kept nagging him to repeatedly want just one more. In fact, there really was much to be desired from cheap, waxy chocolate.
It was more so the simple act of Akari specifically handing a candy to him that she didn’t want, but knew he liked. It felt like it was tugging on a dormant cord still connected between his heart and his memories.
There wasn’t a lot there, but it was attached to something, deep down.
( )( )( )( )( )( )
It was just like when he and (Emmet went trick-or-treating together as children. The two of them) would always return home with enough candy that (could have lasted them several months, but) would probably only survive a week or two (between themselves and their Pokémon). They would always take turns trading (their candy between each other at the end of the night. Emmet) enjoyed the sour variety of treats and gummies (that would oftentimes end up leaving him with a sore mouth,) while he preferred the sweeter chocolates and (candy bars).
And (when Elesa had come into their lives during their teenage years,) the group would continue the tradition (of trick-or-treating together, and then) swapping at the end of the night. (Chocolates were not willingly traded to him nearly as easily anymore, and) he often ended up being traded the things neither (Emmet or Elesa) wanted. But he didn’t mind (because he liked them well enough, more so than the other two).
And even (into adulthood, when going trick-or-treating from door to door) was swapped out for (late-night scary movie marathons with friends, He found a habit had formed where) he was often handed (the candy bowl near the end of the night, in order to finish off the bit of) untouched candy no one else wanted. (Emmet and Skyla) would lightheartedly jab at him (for functionally being their candy disposal bin, but Elesa would defend him while he himself just laughed,) taking it all in jest.
( )( )( )( )( )( )
…It was just like when he and someone else would always return home with enough candy that would last probably only a week or two. They’d take turns trading, the other enjoying sour candies while he preferred the sweet ones. And when their group continued swapping candy, he was often traded what no one else wanted. But he didn’t mind. And even when things… changed, he still was given the candy that no one else wanted. They would make jokes about him for it, but it was all in jest.
There was so much missing, Ingo knew there was, and it made things confusing as to what actually happened. But he certainly didn’t feel bad about any part of it, when he lingered on the feelings that were left behind.
The fragments were horrifically shattered and spread apart over many, many memories, he could tell. But something about it was comforting. Perhaps it was the fact that so many memories seemed linked together; it implied that this was something that had never changed even while time went on, something that had been continued over a large span of his prior life. He had done something with friends very frequently. And it was something he enjoyed very much.
They were happy memories of people he couldn’t quite remember, and while that was not a novel experience for him at this point, it still dimmed the warmth around the edges. But he could not ignore that it was also cathartic, in an aching, lonely way, to feel that they were so worn and repetitive.
The phantom memories gradually retreated back out of reach, keeping their distance as the sweet aftertaste of the cheap chocolate faded. Something about the fact that an action as seemingly insignificant as being handed unwanted candy, and how it was able to dredge up only emotional remnants of so many hazy recollections… it was a little frustrating for Ingo, if he was being honest.
The complete picture was always just out of reach, it felt like.
But he had lost his entire previous life to the foggy nowhere that used to be his mind. There were a lot of pieces to pick up, and he supposed a substantial amount of them would be small and insignificant — when something shattered like this, there were usually many more small pieces than big ones.
“Another chocolate.”
Ingo blinked, his thoughts giving way to the view of the training ground’s dirt beneath his shoes, then to Akari as he turned to her — she had leaned forward to nudge his wrist with her own hand. Of course, a chocolate nestled within an opened wrapper was held between her fingers.
“Ah-” Ingo hesitated for perhaps a moment too long with a look that may have been a bit too piercing, as Akari’s hand began to retract.
“Right, sorry,” Akari sat back, leaning against the dojo wall behind her as she situated the bag back on her lap. “I know, I shouldn’t keep handing you these when you’re about to go have dinner.”
“No no, it’s alright,” Ingo hastily attempted to correct the misunderstanding. “I apologize, I was not rejecting it; my mind simply drifted elsewhere for a moment.”
“So…” With the usual spirited look returning to her features, Akari held the candy back up. “You do want another piece?”
One last glance over at the gate, but of course Zisu was still nowhere in sight. Only the autumn sunset past the village buildings, and a distant collection of drifblim mingling with the clouds over the fieldlands.
Ingo huffed through his nose and turned to join Akari on the bench, taking the empty spot next to her as the wood creaked beneath him. “…Perhaps just one more; Miss Zisu has not arrived yet, after all. She did say it would be a quick stop by the Commander’s office, but I’ll be honest; knowing her appreciation for conversation, I could be waiting here for her for another half hour.”
Akari held the candy back out to him, and this time, Ingo accepted it. “Thank you.”
Placing the chocolate in his mouth, Ingo sat back as he chewed on it. Mulling over the warm feelings of familiarity that briefly returned once again with the flavor, Ingo wondered if the memories themselves would return at some point as well.

What's getting me about folks also comparing the scene with Megumi and Yuji versus the scene with Yuji and Todo back in Shibuya is that some are doing it just to bash Megumi's character.
"He needs to suck it up and move on."
Similar as the circumstances may be, there are some differences.
Yes, it's going to take Megumi to listen to Yuji calling out to him. Yes, it's going to take Megumi's choice to want to be saved.
This is a "save those who want to be saved", a "help me help you" situation.
But let's consider a few things as to why this time around it is going to be a lot more difficult this time around.
Back in Shibuya when confronted by Todo, Yuji was in control of his body. Todo had an easier time reaching out to him because Yuji was right there in the physical world.
Fast forward to now, Yuji actually had to find a way to even get to where Megumi is. He couldn't just walk up to him. He actually had to reach and find his soul in a void that Sukuna placed him in using a technique.
Not only that, keep in mind that Megumi's soul was forced deeper in a void after Sukuna took that curse bath and killed his sister, the only person Megumi had left as family and really cared for. You could also include Gojo. But by that time, I would say Megumi was already too deep to witness that. Megumi had no means of escape until now. Also, Yuji only got to call out to Megumi once before Sukuna intervened. He didn't have time to comfort Megumi.
Like, damn, can we give Megumi and Yuji a chance?
With Yuji, when Sukuna did what he did in Shibuya, Yuji was able to get back control. Remember Yuji was literally made to be Sukuna's vessel. Yuji has a better hold on his control on Sukuna when he possessed his body than Megumi does. Sukuna had limited time.
Also, and this is going to sound harsh, Sukuna killed people Yuji had no attachment to. That is not to say Yuji doesn't care about the well-being of others. That's part of who he is. Yuji did feel for those people, they were innocent and he couldn't do anything to stop Sukuna. But at the same time, he was able to spend less time mourning those people because there was no attachment. When Todo had to confront Yuji, it was after Nobara and Nanami had been attacked killed by Mahito's hands. It's why Yuji was in the state he was in. Nobara and Nanami were people Yuji did have an attachment to, so it did take someone like Todo to encourage him to move on unlike the first time Yuji pushed himself forward. Also, Akari came in and gave Yuji just a bit of hope about Nobara.
There's also their characters. Yuji is the type that no matter how bad things get for him, he will push on. He has just a tad bit stronger mental state than Megumi does. Yuji comes from a relatively "nice" background. He did lose his parents (...) and had to be raised by his grandfather. But he also did have people around him who liked him, even at times he felt like a loner.
Megumi, on the other hand, lost his parents and had to be raised by his (step)sister, Tsumiki who is not that much older than him and later on got put in a coma. His father's side of the family is a prejudice clan and only valued Megumi because of his technique and was sold to said clan by the father he never knew. Gojo was his benefactor, he looked out for him but it's up for interpretation of how their relationship really was like while growing up. Gojo had took Megumi in when he was just 17-18 years and think about the kind of person Gojo is. Megumi also didn't have friends that we know of.
Yuji became a jujutsu sorcerer to help people and there are still people to save. Same for Megumi, but remember his goal mostly did come from wanting to save Tsumiki who had now been killed by his own technique thanks to Sukuna.
Yuji is like sunshine, Megumi like rain.
Yuji's warm and inviting, Megumi is gloomy and cold.
Yuji's outlook on life is different from Megumi's. He has this unbreakable resolve and just more optimistic. Megumi is more pessimistic.
I also take in account of physical damage to their bodies.
I think I did say this in another post, but anyways, when Sukuna possessed Yuji he was almost invincible. Gojo managed to put some damage to him during their first meeting. After that, how many times had Sukuna actually suffered any injuries? Can't think of a time.
When he possessed Megumi, he was able to be injured and bleeds. Remember his fight with Gojo had left some after effects on him, therefore could have also affected Megumi.
Going back to a previous point, when Todo approaches Yuji, Yuji was able to tell he was real. What if in this case, Megumi is so dull from everything Sukuna had put his mental through and because he is in a void of darkness (contrasting from the lit setting Yuji had been in) Megumi believed Yuji to be just an illusion? He believed it was hard for anyone to come save him?
Especially since, if we count the possibility of Megumi witnessing the fight between Gojo and Sukuna, he may feel like an afterthought?
During that fight, Yuji had question if Gojo even remembered to save Megumi and the others weren't even sure of that. Megumi probably felt the same way.
It reminds me of how way back in the beginning as to why Megumi didn't want Yuji executed in the first place. Yuji barely knew the guy, but he saved him. Even risking his life to fight a curse without cursed energy before swallowing that finger. What if Megumi harbored some sort of guilt from that? Yuji's execution may have been postponed, but he was still set to die. On top of that, because Sukuna's fingers had caused one curses to rise and therefore more people are at risk.
Megumi told Nobara not to tell Yuji anything because Yuji would feel guilty.
"Why bother saving me then?"
No matter what Megumi does, it seems things keep getting worse and worse and worse for him.
What if this time around Megumi no longer has the will to leave because he feels like a burden now and doesn't want anyone else to risk their life for his sake? Especially, to Yuji?
Either way, compared to Yuji in Shibuya, both of them are victims. They're just kids. Kids who felt they should die even though they have tried their hardest to save people and there is so much they could do.
To call Megumi a "bum" because he's depressed just gives me "ick" feelings, it does. I saw a comment that called both Megumi and Yuji "losers" and someone argued they're not "losers" when they're traumatized. And they are! In the spam of just months, they witnessed the worse of what has become of Japan all due to curses and curse users. Can you blame any of them for having moments of self-doubt?

The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn't a Guy at All (Ki ni Natteru Hito ga Otoko Janakatta) Drama CD cast interview (more pictures) after they completed the project. Horrible MTL below...
Mitsuki Koga: Mariya Ise Aya Oosawa: Akari Kitō  Joe: Kenjiro Tsuda Narita: Tasuku Hatanaka
Ise (Mitsuki): Actually, on X (formerly Twitter), I was secretly looking forward to reading this manga drawn by Arai. A handsome aura that overflows without Koga's awareness...I was excited as well as there. (Laughter).
No way I will be able to play Koga-san I am grateful!! There's nothing happier than being able to play a character you love. I was allowed to play Koga-san politely and carefully!
Kitō (Aya): It was a large volume of drama CD recording, but I was able to play freely and it was very fun! I was happy to be involved in this work that I had originally read, and I thought again that this work, in which music is greatly involved, is a title that I am very excited to be shaped as a drama CD!
Tsuda (Uncle Joe): It was able to record in a good atmosphere. The comedy part, the serious part, each had tension and relaxation in the air, and it was a fun time.
Hatanaka (Narita): When I participated in this work, of course, I read manga, but I felt that I was really happy that I was able to participate in the drama CD of such a work because I was filled with the wonderfulness, suffering, and regret of liking someone.
――Please tell us the impression of the character you played.
Ise: I like the fact that I value the honesty of Koga's favorite things and what I want to do. I also want to live with such a part carefully, so I felt sympathy on my own. It is also wonderful to care for the person in front of you. I think that Koga's coolness is such a way of thinking and behavior. You can see why people around you are supported and loved.
Kitō: It looks like a yang person, a gal, who is the upper class of the school caste, but in fact it is a frowning Western music otaku, and a CD shop Onii-san(?) I thought that it was a child with various faces that there was a cute side that was in love with him. At first I was worried about where to make a role based, but I thought that it was an ordinary girl and tried to play it.
Tsuda: A nice uncle who is active and gentle while making a rock sharp. It is saved that there are such adults who are close to young people. I played it consciously so that I could put out a large vessel that wraps up with the spatula and the light part. He's a nice character.
Hatanaka: Narita-kun, it was very easy to perform. When I was a student, I did not feel that I was used to women to that extent, but is it the lightness of footwork, something like that, there was something that passed, and there was a feeling that I could quickly enter even if I tried to play it with care…! It was so much fun to play!
――Ise had a singing part of "Creep" this time. If you have any feelings of singing, points you want to pay attention to and listen to, please tell me.
Ise: It was a test (laughs). The difficulty level was too high. I really wanted to run away (Laughter). But for the work, I decided to be prepared that I had to do my best. Please listen with warm ears….
―― Please give a message to all of your fans.
Ise: I am close to or excited about Koga-san, which is the image of all readers, but I also played Koga-san, which I imagined, carefully and wholeheartedly because I was a reader and a fan for many years. Please, DramaCD 『気になってる人が男じゃなかった 』 also like and enjoy! Thank you very much!
Kitō: 『気になってる人が男じゃなかった』 I was originally a fan reading this work, but it is a very popular work with many people who love reading it even around me, so I think that there are many people who are looking forward to this drama CD! This work that is loved by many people is enjoyed as a voice, and I will be very happy if you love me!
Tsuda: It is a wonderful work where laughter and cuteness are tightly tied and young. I think that people who like rock can enjoy it because there are many legendary rocker songs, and I think that those who do not know rock can enjoy refreshing youth drama.
Hatanaka: It was such a work that makes me think that it is really nice to read and fall in love with people. I hope it becomes a drama CD filled with its goodness! By all means, I hope you can enjoy the original together many times! Thank you very much!!!
――cast everyone, thank you!

[Akari is teaching the Tri-Squad about Halloween which is actually very popular in the ARD (Alien refugee district).]
Akari, dressed as a pirate: Observe carefully, Boys. I'll teach you some of the finer points of trick-or-treating.
[Taps the door a few times with her wooden sword and a woman answers, Akari opens her pillow case and the Tri-squad follows her lead]
Akari: Trick or treat!
Woman at Door: Oh, how cute! Here you go, kids.
[She throws a couple pieces of candy into their sacks]
Akari, puts on a pirate accent: Me thinks yer be a mighty stingy with yer candy, Miss! If ye don't reconsider your contribution, I'll be givin yer house a new eggy paint job.
[The woman blanches and throws much more candy into their sacks]
Akari: Thank you. A thousand blessin's upon yer home, ma'am.
{They walk away as Taiga looks at his cousin worried.}
Akari: Of course I was just kidding about egging her house.
Taiga, somewhat relived: Oh.
Akari: I save that for people who give out raisins, apples or carrots and dip.

Happy Anniversary to Death Row Block! One of my favorite teams within the DRB! It looks like they were sent some gifts from their allies to celebrate!
To Akihisa, From Max - A vinyl record of an opera soundtrack.
Tumblr media
“Happy anniversary, I’m glad we met. - Max”
To Touya, From Kaiji - A very beautiful ring with a deep, dark red gem at the center.
Tumblr media
“Happy Anniversary, darling! Hope you have a super good day, the gem was made out of my blood by the way, so just know that I’ll always be with you! - Kaiji”
To Rintaro, From Ren - A motorcycle tool kit
Tumblr media
“Happy anniversary, I know you probably already have tools but I figured it can’t hurt to have extra. From one older brother to another, keep up the good work. - Ren”
Of course there was something for the hidden member of the group as well, to Akari from both Ryōhei and Nagisa, she received a Monokuma plush.
Tumblr media
“A-akari-chan! We hope you have a good day! - Ryōhei”
“Yeah, yeah, happy anniversary or whatever. - Nagisa”
“We got gifts~!” Touya giggled, sticking his hand out in front of him admiring the ring Kaiji had given him. “Doesn't my ring look pretty? Kai-chan said he used his blood for the gem.”
“Touya I’m not going to even fucking pretend to understand what you and Kaiji have for each other.” Rintaro huffed, more focused on the toolset Ren had given him. “Hell yeah, my old kit was missing a few tools so this a huge fucking help.”
“Monokuma,” Akari smirked at the plush picking it up, “If I didn't know any better I'd say Ryōhei and Nagisa were trying to tell me something.”
“Akari you say this as you haven't perfectly replicated some of the Danganronpa executions as Cinder. People have called you a real-life Junko Enoshima.”
“Oh please I'm much worse than Junko.”
“I take it the three of you enjoy your gifts then?” Akihisa questioned, a sliver of a smile on his face as he stared at the vinyl Max had given him.
“I love it~!”
“It's cool. Saves me the fucking trouble of going out myself.”
“I can add it to the rest of my merch.”
“Remember then to thank Lovesick when they come around next time.”

Tomoe[memories]: They seem to be getting along fine...
Tomoe[memories]: You haven't done anything that warrants an apology, have you?

Sentarou: Hey, Akari. How long are you going to keep marking the tuning changes?
Akari: No is just that I feel like the marks will disappear with the sweat. It worries me...
Assistant: Contestants from Eidai Prefectural High School, your turn is in 10 minutes!
Akari: Ack!
Sentarou: Great! Let's get ready to go
Akari: Aaaaah why do you both look so caaaalm
Haru: Not at all. I'm super nervous
Sentarou: Not as much as you, tho.
Page 11
Haru: He says that, but in the Traditional Music Festival and Preliminaries, Sen-chan was super nervous
Akari: Eh- Senpai!?
Sentaruo: Haru-
Haru: Yeah, and he played like 3 times faster because of that
Akari: Eh- Three times....
Sentarou: That's not going to happen today. You are here with us, Akari. Don't worry.
Page 12
Sentarou: Okay, you guys. Put your hands
Akari: Ri- Right
Sentarou: ...Your hands are sweaty for real, man
Akari: I'm sorry...
Sentarou: Bah, it's fine
Sentarou: Listen, you two!
Sentarou: In today's competition, we are the school with the least members, but when it comes to guts, we won't lose to anyone!!!
Page 13
Sentarou: Let's make our best performance yet!!!!
Trio: Yeah!!!
Akari[thoughts]: Hot.
Akari[thoughts]: My body is numb.
Akari[thoughts]: My blood is pumping
Sentarou: Huh? Are you crying?
Akari: I'm not crying!
Akari[thoughts]: I didn't know it was possible to shiver when you feel hot
Page 14
Keishi: Oh, next is "Sound of the Rapids", huh
Akira: Eidai's performance, right?
Keishi: There's two 17-stringed kotos
Akari's friend 1: He- hey, you are sure it's here, right?
Akari's friend 2: It is, isn't it? I made sure it was
Akari's friend 3: In the program they gave us before it says Kobayakawa Akari.
Akari's friend 2: Really, that's good---
Akari's friend 3: I spent all my part-time job money to come here, if we were wrong I'd cry
Akari's friend 1: This "Sound of the Rapids" that Akari's playing, is it hard?
Akari's friend 2: No idea. Should be around the level of a beginner like Akari who has played for 3 months to be able to play
Page 15
Keishi: "Sound of the Rapids" is a complicated song
Akari's friend 1: Eh?
Akira: O- Onii-chan
Akari's friend 1: For real?
Keishi: It's technically and expressively very advanced
Keishi: There is also tuning change while playing it
Akari's friend: Tuning change... Ohh yeah, Akari also mentioned that was difficult
Keishi: That beginner friend of yours, to be playing this song in only three months
Keishi: I think is testament to how much he has worked
Page 16
Akari's friends: Thanks, stranger Onii-chan!
Keishi: No problem--
Suzuka[thoughts]: Extroverts... *
*Here Takinami really says "Monster of communication", meaning Keishi just will approach and talk to about anyone and make friends anywhere
Akari's friend 1: Oh, here they are
Page 17
Akari [thoughts]: Amazing...
Akari[thoughts]: It's still dark, but you can feel how many people are there
Akari[thoughts]: This is completely different than rehearsals
Akari[thoughts]: My hands are also super sweaty
Akari[thoughts]: And they feel super cold
Akari[thoughts]: Hold on, that's connected isn't it...?
Akari[thoughts]: ....Will my hands be able to move properly...?
Akari[thoughts]: Eh
Akari[thoughts]: Will they really move?
Sentarou: Akari!
Page 18
Hand: You can do it!!!
Haru: Akari-kun, it's okay
Haru: We are here with you

Keishi[thoughts]: Uooh, the 17-stringer has such a powerful bass! What a nice sound!!
Tsukaji[thoughts]: Hey hey, will only one Koto be enough...?
Tsukaji[thoughts]: No matter how you look at it, it will get swallowed by the 17-stringers---

Chika: !!!
Tsukaji: !?
Tsukaji[thoughts]: Wait wait
Tsukaji[thoughts]: Is this for real...?
Satowa[thoughts]: Amazing, it's a watery and powerful sound.
Satowa[thoughts]: Combined with the thick and solid sound of the 17-stringers---

Sane[thoughts]: Incredible-- Is like they made the river into music
Mittsu[thoughts]: It feels as if it was cold, even when they are playing with such candor
Momoya[thoughts]: Is a pretty good tempo, but not shallow
Momoya[thoughts]: The 17-stringers balance it very well
Akari's friend 1: Amazing...
Akari's friend 4: Akari...
Akari[thoughts]: ...They move
Akari[thoughts]: My hands are moving properly!!
Page 28
Akari[thoughts]: If I continue like this---
Akari[thoughts]: Oops... The nail almost...!
Akari[thoughts]: Don't let your guard down!
Hiro[thoughts]: Will they be able to change tunings while plucking at this speed?
Akari [thoughts]: Seven semitones up
Akari[thoughts]: Three semitones up

Misumi Ikaruga | [SSR] MANKAI Feature | Today’s Star: Akari Shinonome - Part 2
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Alright then, let’s start the meeting for Shinonome’s spin-off story.
Misumi: Yeah, let’s sta~rt.
Tsuzuru: First, let’s go over the project again…
Tsuzuru: Everyone is going to do their own short spin-off performance featuring a supporting role they’ve played in the past.
Tsuzuru: The roles that’ll be featured are gonna be based on the survey responses.
Tsuzuru: There’s no other specific guidelines for the content of the spin-offs. It’s all up to you, the actors, and me, the scriptwriter.
Misumi: Yeah, yeah!
Tsuzuru: And you, Ikaruga-san, are playing…
Tumblr media
Misumi: Sky Gallery’s Shinonome!
Tsuzuru: Right.
Tsuzuru: I’ve gotta admit, I’m a little surprised that that role ended up being so popular.
Misumi: I was kinda surprised when I heard that Shinonome got chosen too~. But I can’t wait to play him again!
Tsuzuru: So, thinking about the spin-off, seems like some people are curious about Shinonome’s background and his time in high school with Shirato.
Misumi: Yeah… That makes sense!
Tsuzuru: I guess that’s probably the direction I’d lean into for the subject~.
Tsuzuru: If we go in the direction of talking about his high school years, might as well include the theme of “youth” too…
Tsuzuru: Are there any scenes that you’d wanna include, Ikaruga-san?
Misumi: Hmm…
Misumi: …Can I think about it a little more?
Tsuzuru: Of course. You’ve still got a decent amount of time.
Misumi: Thanks, Tsuzuru!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Misumi: There, sent a LIME to Madoka~.
Tenma: Misumi, is your meeting already done?
Misumi: Yeah, we just finished! The story’s gonna be about Sky Gallery’s Shinonome and Shirato~.
Tenma: Huh, guess I’m gonna have to give the script a re-read then.
Misumi: Yeah! Let’s go together, Tenma!
Tumblr media
Tenma: Hah? What’s that about so suddenly? Where are you going--?
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Misumi: There~! A triangle paper airplane!
Misumi: One for me and one for Tenma.
Tenma: Got it… So that’s the way you fold one. Guess I forgot.
Misumi: Your paper airplanes never fly at all, Tenma~.
Tenma: H-Hey! It’s a work in progress!
Tenma: Still… Why’d you come all the way out here to get story ideas for the spin-off?
Misumi: Gramps and Madoka both worked on their stories here, so I thought it mi~ght be a good idea.
Misumi: Besides, I wanted to come back and get this thing I forgot!
Tumblr media
Tenma: …Gotcha.
Tenma: Alright, let’s get straight to it. Hand me the script.
Misumi: Kaaay!
*Pages rustling*
Tenma: So, do you have any ideas for what Shinonome and Shirato’s high school days should be like, Misumi?
Misumi: Hmm… What about Shinonome going back to the mountains to paint and then saving Shirato who was about to get lost there~?
Misumi: They chase after a cat and find an old triangular building that’s said to be haunted!
Tenma: The hell?
Tenma: (That sounds more like just myself and Misumi…)
Misumi: What do you think, Tenma? What do you have for ideas?
Tenma: I…
Tenma: What about a small fight between the two of them because they were both working in the same place?
Tenma: Shirato’s family isn’t wealthy, so maybe he got annoyed with Shinonome for using ridiculous amounts of paint… Or something like that?
Misumi: …Fufu.
Tenma: ? What is it?
Misumi: It’s just a little weird talking about high school like it was so long ago, Tenma.
Tenma: …Guess you’re right.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tenma: That’s about it. Think it’s enough?
Misumi: Yeah!
Tenma: Alright, let’s get going then.
Misumi: Ah, before that--.
Tenma: We should visit Hakkaku-san’s grave.
Tumblr media
Misumi: Eh?
Tenma: We borrowed this space, so it only makes sense that we should thank him and pay our respects.
Misumi: …Yeah, thanks!

Note
Not a request, as you said those are closed, but a scenario that the reader-falls-through-the-screen part of the #self aware au brought to my mind. Personally, if I ended up in Hisui by mistake, I’d be in severe trouble. I’m not in the best of health, and so I take a bunch of medications daily. Aside from being necessary to keep me functional, several of those meds make a person extremely sick if they are stopped abruptly.
So if I were to wake up in Hisui, the first thought (after the whole ‘omg I’m in the Pokémon world’ freak out) that would go through my head would be something on the order of “I have 48 hours, maaaybe 72, to get back home before the side effects kick in and I’m in serious trouble. Crap.”
Given that I, as the reader, would probably have mentioned my med regimen to Ingo as we would be at least friends by this point, he would probably understand why I’d be a bit less than likely to engage in anything more spicy than a “omg it’s you thank you for saving me!” hug. Of course, even that would depend on when during that time he found me. At least the wild Pokémon would be quick.
I’m fairly certain Ingo would do everything possible to get me home, but if this is before he has found a way out through the screen, would could he possibly do? I had vague ideas of him going to Akari/Rei and asking Arceus for help, but that’s where my mind sputtered out for this plot. I might come back to chew on it later, but as is was inspired by your AU, I thought I’d share.
Omg that is very true. I have really bad migraines, and need to take medication for them constantly, or else they just get worse until they make me pass out. I also have to eat and take certain stuff in general, and just popping into HIsui would very much nearly kill me if I didn't have the stuff with me. Thankfully though, If you fell into Hisui with Ingo still in there, he'd probably know immediately. He can sense everything in the code, and you being there would be like an alarm going off in his head. He'd be overjoyed to see you! And he'd love to have you stay with him, and him take care of you, and maybe even more... ....But if you need medication, he's immediately at your side, trying to help get you home. He would not risk your health. He has a faint idea how important specific medications are, and how dropping them out of nowhere can be awful health wise. In some cases, even deadly. He would not risk that with you. If Ingo didn't already know how to go through the screen, you can bet he would be on it. Now that he didn't have you worrying about his safety as much with the code, and your health was on the line, he wouldn't hold back. Besides, if you were able to fall through the screen, surely there must be a way back out?
Expect him to have it done in about 3 days, tops. He'll work overtime, just to make sure you are happy, healthy, and safe. ...But surely, you won't mind if he follows you into your world, right? Especially after he worked so hard to get you home? I'm glad my AU inspired you! I hope to see more from you in the future! ヾ(•ω•`)o

Round 1 Has Finished!
Thank you all for voting! Some of the results are not what I expected while others are exactly what I thought they would be. Either way, it was an exciting time.
If you would like a breakdown of each winner along with occasional bit of commentary, it will be below the read more. Otherwise, the next round will start in a few days!
Macne Nana (87.5%)
Koharu Rikka (62.1%)
LUMi (60.6%)
Camui Gakupo (70.5%) - I’ll admit, I’m a bit surprised how low in votes Kiritan was. She’s decently popular in Japan, so I kinda thought it would translate here.
Sweet ANN (81.3%)
Kevin (69.7%)
Yamine Renri (59.5%)
COKO (73.9%)
AZUKI (53.8%) - Really now. Zunko lost to Azuki of all vocals.
Rana (82.4%)
Maika (93.5%) - For the longest time it’s was 100% for Maika, which made me laugh when I saw that.
Kizuna Akari (57.7%) - So, apparently it’s ZHIYU Moke. I had his photo saved as Zhiyun, autocorrect says Zhiyun and I have always referred to him as Zhiyun. I’m so sorry Zhiyu Moke fans, I’ve failed you.
flower (80%)
Otomachi Una (77.5%)
Macne Papa (69.6%)
Chis-A (79.2%)
Marie Ork (62.5%) - This was probably the most obscure face-off.
galaco (84.8%)
Tonio (79.3%)
An Xiao (58.3%)
RUBY (70%)
SeeU (88.2%)
BIG AL (53.1%)
CUL (51.3%) - This was such a close match, the lead swapped a few times. I think the difference might only be two votes.
Lily (54.7%) - I love Lily, but I really expected all the Crypton vocals to pass at least the first round.
Yuezheng Ling (59.3%)
IA (86.2%)
Sato Sasara (68.2%)
DEX (80%)
Chiyu (92%) - I had to be reminded of Ginsaki’s existence when making this blog. I remembered the Vocalina girls more than him, which probably says something.
YOHIOloid (61.5%) - Of the two controversial Vocaloids, I did think Lapis would be more popular because of her design at the very least.
Kotonoha Aoi & Akane (71.9%) - I’m a little sad I couldn’t separate Akane and Aoi into their own spots on the bracket, but they literally have the same voice. It’s arbitrary which one is singing, which always saddens me.
Xingchen Minus (81.5%)
SF-A2 miki (87.9%)
Tone Rion (51.5%) - I wish they never changed Rion’s design. I loved the moe idol maid look. And the purple hair.
Natsuki Karin (67.9%)
Ryuto (82.5%)
Sachiko (65.8%) - Kinda surprised the enka vocal beat the versatile English male vocal, but maybe Jun is just too obscure...
Megurine Luka (85.7%)
AiKO (85.7%)
ASTERIAN (83.8%)
OLIVER (78.8%)
YUU (66.7%)
Kaai Yuki (75.6%) - I love how, of all the AHS vocals not named Yukari, Yuki is the vocal that gets new songs on NicoNico. And she’s the child vocal.
Tsurumaki Maki (56.4%)
unity-chan! (71%) - Is it because she has a design? Because I literally don’t think I’ve ever heard a song with her.
Genbu (60%) - This was the first tie. Kinda didn’t think that would happen until a later round.
Fuiro (53.7%) - Really?! I’m absolutely baffled by this result. Is there just an appeal for Fuiro’s edgy look?
Mo Qingxian (78.6%) - Kinsaki has even more votes than Ginsaki and yet I also forgot about her.
Cong Zheng (59.3%)
Mayu (85.7%)
Hatsune Miku (73%) - Poor Nemu never had a chance. The vote was closer than I expected though.
AVANNA (91.2%)
kanon (77.4%)
Yuma (51.2%) - Why was this so close?
Hiyama Kiyoteru (72.2%) - How did I get his name backwards? I checked the wiki and everything...
Haiyi (51%)
Kagamine Rin (77.1%)
Prima (77.4%)
Luo Tianyi (92.3%)
MEIKO (81.8%)
Chika (78.4%)
Yuezheng Longya (65.7%)
VY1 (86%)
MEIKA Hime (79.1%)
Nekomura Iroha (76.3%) - This actually shocked me. KAFU is so popular on NicoNico, she gets at least one new song in the top 20 every week. She’s even getting a SynthV! Iroha, to my knowledge, never had that level of popularity. The NicoNico-Tumblr disconnect really shows sometimes, huh?
Kagamine Len (65%)
Kasane Teto (88.7%)
GUMI (83.6%)
SONiKA (51.9%)
SOLARIA (90.2%)
Po-uta (85.4%) - ... Is he actually popular? As someone who doesn’t like Porter Robinson really follow YouTube original songs, I don’t see him pop up on my feeds.
ROSE (54.8%)
VY2 (60%) - I put VY1 in the poll itself. I’m an idiot. I really hope that didn’t actually effect the vote. Also, kokone is probably my favorite vocal design. I don’t really know why, but I really love her appearance.
MEIKA Mikoto (88.7%) - I actually forgot to capitalize the MEIKA for both of the plum siblings. I’m such a fake fan.
YANHE (95.7%) -  None of the V5 or V6 standard vocals passed this round, which probably indicates how well liked they are.
Yuzuki Yukari (75.9%)
Haruno Sora (65.3%) - Surprised about this one, but I’m also glad I won’t have to copy that weird N thing with ONE again. Copying the unique symbols in some of the vocals really is something I don’t recommend.
Utatane Piko (88.5%) - If you haven’t heard AiSuu, it’s a unique experience. Her voice is so not what I expected when looking at her design.
Mirai Komachi (56.3%) - The only isotope vocal to continue on is COKO, who I think is the least popular of the four released vocals. Fascinating.
Eleanor Forte (69.5%)
Xuan Yu (80%)
L♀LA  (65.2%)
Fukase (75.8%) - I know ALYS is an obscure vocal from an obscure engine, but still. I expect the pretty lady to beat the burnt boy, not get destroyed in the vote.

Maintenance Check
Akari invites a weary Ingo out of the rain to rest and have a hot meal with her, but Ingo realizes Akari needs some help of her own as well.
I wrote this off of a request to let Ingo relax and have a nice meal with Akari in the wake of Heart Full, Bowl Empty’s events, as well as two requests showing how Ingo and/or Akari would deal with a toothache away from the modern-day dental practices they’re used to.
This was supposed to be my last request fic of 2022, but instead it’s my first request fic of 2023!
OR read here on AO3!
Enjoy!
————
The door to Akari’s unit slid open and shut quickly, the rain from outside clinging to Ingo’s coat as water dripped from the brim of his hat.
“You were gone for a while!” Akari commented, looking up from the cooking pot hanging over her unit’s irori; the sunken hearth in the middle of the room was already heated, warming the room and chasing away the chill that had begun to seep into Ingo’s skin. “Did they not have any?”
Ingo shrugged his wet coat off and hung it up with his cap on the wall; he did not want to drip all over Akari’s floors. He plucked a pouch out from one of the coat pockets and brought it over to Akari, handing it to her. “They did have it, but it, ah… took a considerable amount of time to retrieve from their cargo. I apologize for the delay.”
Ingo decided to refrain from telling Akari about how he suspected Volo left him standing in the rain longer than he needed to, searching through the back of the Ginkgo Guild’s covered wagon for quite a time for something so simple as a single sprig of King’s Leaf. It had left lots of awkward but well-meaning smalltalk with Tuli, until Ginter had decided to call out and ask if Volo needed help looking. Only then did Volo come back around the side of the wagon, King's Leaf in hand.
Maybe he shouldn’t have told the merchant that it was for a soup that he was cooking with Akari in her unit - he had come to notice that Volo wasn’t too keen on how much time the teenager spent with him. But technically, it was Volo’s fault for asking about what he planned to use it for in the first place.
“Sorry about that,” Akari took the pouch and pulled the plant out, a bit flattened, but perfectly preserved and dry. She set it down on a thick board beside her and began to cut the vibrant leaves up into smaller pieces, occasionally glancing at one of the hand-written recipe pages of her Pokedex to make sure she was doing it right. “But thanks for getting it! I didn’t know I was out of them, so it saved me some time.”
“Glad to be of service,” Ingo moved to stand closer to the heated irori, and chase away some of the cold aching that stubbornly clung to his limbs. “Is there anything else I can assist with?”
“No, no, it’s ok!” Akari would have waved him off if her hands weren’t full of freshly-cut King’s Leaf. She dropped the bits into the pot, before grabbing another small bowl full of chopped leeks and vivichokes, dumping that in as well. “You’ve already done so much today, just relax! And all the work is pretty much done, anyways; we just need to wait now.”
With that, Ingo moved to finally sit down with a grunt, at the edge of the irori, finally able to take his weight off his feet. He was silently thankful he could just sit back and rest for a moment. Today had been an exhaustive one, what with the Pearl Clan requesting his help on an icelands hunting trip that was supposed to be over and done by mid-morning, but dragged well into mid-day instead. And by the time he had reached Jubilife Village for whatever was left of his shift at the dojo (excessive rain having begun to pour down halfway there - he knew the sky had been too dark that morning for its own good), Zisu had regretfully let him know work was canceled due to the weather.
Akari had thankfully spotted him leaving the village to return to the highlands, and had asked him to join her in her Jubilife unit to dry off and share some of the soup she was making. He was surprised to see her - she was supposed to be gone on an expedition trip for at least another day - but he was certainly cold, hungry, and exhausted by that point, and very much not looking forward to a long trip back up Mount Coronet, so he had wearily agreed.
“Thank you again for your generosity, Miss Akari,” Ingo slumped forward, the heat of the hearth easing him as the soup began to spread a pleasant scent throughout the room. “I admit, this is much more favorable than traversing up to my highlands station in this current weather.”
“Yeah, well, you looked like you needed someone to give you a break,” Akari half-joked with him as she took a wooden spoon and stirred the contents of the pot a few times, sprinkling some crunchy salt in. Satisfied with the state of the soup, she left it to simmer and moved to sit next to Ingo, the sounds of the rain slicking down the slanted roof of her unit. “And I need someone to share all this soup with!”
————
“These are excellent reports, Miss Akari; very thorough. I’m sure Professor Laventon will appreciate this data. Wild sliggoo are notoriously hard to properly observe.”
Akari gave a small smile as Ingo browsed over her pages of notes, freshly filled out from the expedition she had just gotten back from. She always liked showing Ingo any new observations she had made, as looking over her extensive notes sometimes allowed him to recall some additional information she could add. But, she also knew he took special interest in Hisui’s select species. Just like the voltorb and electrode native to the region, focusing on their differences from what he could dimly remember always intrigued him.
“Hard is an understatement!” Akari glanced over her own notes as well from Ingo’s side, recalling what she had to do to get them as she held her soup secure in her hands. “I couldn’t even get close without them somehow hearing me, and retreating into those big heavy shells of theirs! And you would think they wouldn’t be able to see where they’re going rolling around in them, but they can aim pretty well! Got me good a few times-“
Akari set her bowl down and rolled up one of her black underlayer sleeves as she talked, the survey corps fabric bunching up over it as she showed him a few cuts and bruises she had sustained from scrapes with the sharp metal shells. This caught Ingo’s attention, and his gaze finally drifted off the words and drawings of the page, to the teenager at his side.
“Is all this just from crossing tracks with the sliggoo?” Ingo looked the damage over briefly; it didn’t seem too bad thankfully, but then again, all he could see was her one uncovered arm. Though, he didn’t think she normally got this scraped up from a routine expedition. “Is this why you departed ahead of schedule?”
“Nah, I just finished early.” Akari rolled her sleeve back down to pick her soup back up.“I mean, I sort of rushed it, but I just wanted today off - fieldwork isn’t nearly as fun in the rain. And it’s fine! It’s mostly just soreness now, nothing that won’t heal.”
“Speed but not haste, Miss Akari.” Ingo felt like he had to remind her of that a lot lately. He closed her Pokedex and handed it back to her, so he could pick his own bowl back up and continue eating his soup. “It’s important to maintain safety.”
“Yeah, well if I did that,” Akari tucked her Pokedex back away, “You’d be heading up to the highlands right now with about twenty pounds of rain in your clothes. And I would be too, still trying to get Pokedex pages filled out, and we wouldn’t be sharing this great soup right now, listening to the rain outside while we’re warm inside.”
That earned a small laugh out of Ingo. She wasn’t wrong.
“That certainly tracks,” He stirred what was left in his bowl. “And it would be unfortunate to pass this up - my schedule has not allowed me time to enjoy something like this for a while. The refuel and the maintenance stop are much appreciated.”
Between more frequent hunts with the Pearl Clan, his duties to Lady Sneasler and her kits, and his shifts at the dojo, it had all been constant foot traveling for the last three days. Always walking. Always traversing. Letting the cold cling to him and slip deeper under his skin the longer he immersed himself in the wilderness. No time to stop and eat, either plucking off stunted berries from trees and bushes he happened to walk by, or stuffing potato mochi down on his way out of Jubilife and onto the next destination, being unable to sit down and actually enjoy it. Sleeping in whatever place he happened to be at when the sun set, even if it didn’t exactly have a nice warm bed to comfort him, and ease the pain in his back that would flare up from the cold’s grip.
Akari’s offer for him to come in and sit down, to relax and have a nice meal, was the first time he had been able to really do so in a while.
And it was nice. To take the pressure of walking off his legs and let them rest for once, and relieve the dull throbbing in his feet brought about by traversing rough terrain on worn down shoes. To actually enjoy the taste of his food instead of hastily stuffing down whatever he could get, to simply keep his engine running on his way to the next destination. To let warmth ease him and loosen his tense weariness. While the heated irori thawed his limbs well enough, driving out the deeper frost that had settled into his muscles, the hot soup left a pleasant internal warmth in his body, heating whatever the hearth couldn’t.
“Here, I’ll get you more then,” Akari reached out to take Ingo’s bowl from his hands as he tipped it back and swallowed the last of its contents. “It’s more vegetables than broth, but there’s still some left in the pot.”
“I appreciate it, but I’ve ah, already had seconds,” Ingo tried to object. “And your portions for me have been rather generous. It’s alright. Go ahead and finish it.”
It wasn’t that Ingo found the meal to be unenjoyable. It was genuinely excellent - the best meal he had had in days. Akari had gotten very good with her recipes. He could have had more, but he told himself not to depreciate a comfortable fullness down to a stomachache. But moreso, he just wanted Akari to eat more than the little amount he had seen her put into her own bowl.
On his first serving, he had noticed Akari dumped lots of the larger, tougher soup contents into his bowl - sootfoot roots, leeks, mushrooms - but her own bowl had consisted of smaller chunks amongst mostly broth. It had been easy enough to dismiss, until he noted that she did it again with their second helpings. She wasn’t even really using her spoon, instead opting to sip from the bowl itself. Generally, just eating slower - and less - than she normally did.
Why?
“I’m good,” Akari took one last glance at the soup pot, before moving to sit back down next to Ingo. “It’ll probably just be leftovers then.”
Leftovers? With her typical growing-teenager appetite, the concept of leftovers was practically a foreign one to Akari. Ingo’s gaze flitted over to the sleek orange icebox against the wall - that thing was used more frequently to hold icelands snow than actual food that couldn’t be finished.
“Forgive me for being so upfront Miss Akari, but,” Ingo began, leaning forward to better feel the irori’s heat, as well as get a better look at her face. “are you feeling alright?”
The teenager didn’t have to say anything for Ingo to see the confusion on her face - for her, the question came out of nowhere. Ingo worried insufficient clarity had led to incorrect assumed inferences.
“Apologies, it’s just that it appears you’re, well… drinking more of the soup than you’re eating.” He explained, before repeating himself. “Are you feeling alright?”
Confusion quickly faded, understanding taking its place.
“Oh, no, no!” Akari waved it off. “Like I said earlier, I’m just still a bit sore. My mouth just hurts a little, makes it kinda hard to chew. I’ve been making a lot of soup lately because of it, actually.”
When Akari had said she was sore, Ingo assumed that only extended to achy limbs, and tender muscles. A sore jaw was a bit of a different matter, especially if it influenced what Akari could and couldn’t eat - now he understood why she was mostly just limiting herself to the broth.
The lack of worry in Akari’s voice told Ingo that she didn’t think it was a big deal at all - so much so, that it seemed she didn’t even find it worth mentioning until explicitly asked. She did not appear worried about it, but Ingo couldn’t say the same.
Draugr, the iceland’s territorial alpha mamoswine, had given Ingo the unfortunate opportunity to experience how Hisui deals with dental complications himself.
He did not want to think back on that, and he did not want Akari to have to deal with that agonizing possibility like he did. He had a feeling oral care in Hisui was not nearly as advanced and optimized as it was wherever the two of them had come from, and he was sure Akari was also aware of this to some degree.
“If it’s preventing you from properly eating, perhaps we should go visit Miss Pesselle.” Akari could hear the concern start to bubble up in Ingo’s voice as he shifted to a more attentive position. “When did you first notice the pain?”
“Ingo, it’s ok!” She tried to keep him from getting worried over her. “It started like three days ago, but this happens a lot, trust me; I get roughed up from expedition work, thrown down a few too many times by a wild Pokémon. I knock my jaw maybe, it’s sore for a little bit, but then I get over it. It probably happened when I was out observing the sliggoo. It’s fine, really!”
“I might be inclined to disagree, if it means it obstructs you from having anything else besides soup broth.” Ingo emphasized. “Did you at least perform safety checks, and ensure nothing was damaged? If you’ve possibly cracked a tooth, it must be addressed as soon as possible.”
“Ingo… I didn’t crack a tooth,” Akari dismissed it. She interrupted herself by pushing herself back up onto her feet, and taking their empty bowls in her hands. She was trying to busy herself now. “I’m used to this, really. It’ll go away in a few days.”
She did not check.
Ingo gave her a look telling her he knew she didn’t, which made Akari huff a sigh through her nose as she dropped their dinnerware on her washing table.
“I can’t feel anything sharp with my tongue,” she insisted, her confidence apparently unfaltering as she continued to try and quell Ingo’s worries. She slipped open the lid of her water container, and began to scrub the dishes. “It’s sore, but that’s normal. For me, I mean.”
“Still, it does not hurt to be thorough.” Ingo reasoned. “Something else could require repairs. If you haven’t checked, you cannot know for sure.”
“Mmm-hmm,” Akari simply hummed in acknowledgement as she continued to fret over the dishes. He could tell she was starting to want to drop the subject.
The rain came down against the roof of the warm unit. Busying her hands, no other words were likely to leave Akari’s mouth, while Ingo struggled to get the right string of them out of his.
Perhaps he should talk about it.
“…I had a similar experience, once.” Ingo started after a moment of contemplation, watching Akari needlessly busy herself. “When the Pearl Clan first brought me back to their settlement and were trying to repair the damage that Draugr had caused, they were trying to fix everything they could with haste. They patched me up as best they could, and waited. But as the days went on, it was becoming apparent that something was wrong.”
Akari said nothing, but she stopped scrubbing at the dishes - Ingo could see he had managed to take her nervous energy, and convert it into attention that was trained on him. She always said she didn’t like hearing the more explicit details of his recovery, but by the way she always listened in with a sort of hesitant curiosity, he could tell she said that more for his sake, assuming he had a hard time talking about it.
He did.
It was difficult to think back on that time, and recall how it felt to be so confused and alone.
“I was not eating, or drinking. They could not figure out why, and I regret to say it was because I did not make it easy for them to do so.”
Behavior like that would be laughably unheard of from Ingo now. But at the time, he had known nothing about who or where he was, and all he knew was that he was in an extensive amount of pain, and that he was surrounded by people he did not know or understand, who were endlessly prodding him and just irritating the pain more. It had freaked him out, and admittedly, when he had the strength to, he had become resistant to their invasive monitoring.
“Only once Lady Irida had arrived to check on me herself with a gentler approach, were they able to figure out the issue. I had a cracked tooth, viable for infection, and it needed to be removed.”
“You got a tooth pulled!” Ingo could already hear the flood of excitedly curious requests for him to show her the gap coming.
“It was just a wisdom tooth, its departure did not change much to my cab,” Ingo stopped her in her tracks before she got too far. “It had most likely needed to be removed even before my jaw had a collision with an ice tusk as thick as a tree. But before I knew it, Miss Calaba had checked it over for confirmation, and one of her more eager assistants was already wrenching it out.”
“Oh man,” Akari frowned. “Just pulling it then and there? That sounds… super sucky.”
Akari’s word choice surprised a brief laugh out of Ingo. “It was definitely not favorable, though it could have been much worse. And only due to Lady Irida’s incentive to check herself, were the tracks corrected. It was of utmost importance to be thorough, and to be entirely sure of the situation.”
Akari was starting to bite her cheek, nervousness returning now that the subject was returning back onto the issue at hand, and away from Ingo’s story.
“Miss Akari, I understand your hesitance. I myself have been on that line. Sometimes, maintenance of one’s cab is not an easy track to go down. But if something needs attention, it’s best to attend to it now before it gets worse, and affects the functionality of the rest of the cab… especially with Hisui’s limited medical methods.”
It seemed his own personal example and words of gentle encouragement finally broke through to her. Ingo’s words were followed by a loud silence that drew attention to the sound of muffled rain against the unit’s roof, until Akari let out a deep sigh. Her shoulders slumped, defeated.
“…I know,” she muttered, looking down at her feet for a moment, before turning back to face him. The dishes she once couldn’t get her focus off of were now entirely forgotten behind her. “I know I should probably get it checked. I think my jaw’s fine - it’s my tooth that hurts. I came back early because it was just being so bothersome; I couldn’t really eat anything I found out in the mirelands, so I had to come home. It’s just…”
It was scary.
Ingo could see she found it scary.
“…I know my options are different from what I had back home. If anything, um… happened, my only option would be to get it pulled.” Akari began to explain to him. Her voice was no longer as certain and unfaltering as it was earlier. “And I’ve heard how people manage that whole procedure when they come into Pesselle’s office. I always hear them yelling! And Rei’s told me horror stories about how he’s had to assist her with emergency procedures, just because he was the closest Galaxy Team member nearby. I don’t want to have to get any teeth pulled! I was just hoping to wait and see if it would get better, but… it’s been three days. It’s not.”
A pang of empathy tugged at Ingo’s heart. It was clear now that Akari was just scared - scared that something was irreversibly damaged, and scared that she would have to undergo a worrying procedure that freaked her out. She hadn’t checked out of fear that it would confirm these things.
It was understandable.
Ingo pushed himself back up onto his feet (the heat from the irori was starting to become noticeably uncomfortable anyways) and moved to try and console her - she looked like she was about to start pacing the room out of nervousness.
“You mentioned the soreness only began three days back, correct?” Ingo recalled, putting a hand on Akari’s shoulder. “You may not be experiencing improvement, but that does not give much time for things to worsen. And perhaps nothing is wrong, and it really is just sore. Then we have nothing to worry about. But, we should perform a maintenance check now, and if repair is required, it should be manageable.”
“Yeah,” The complete lack of enthusiasm in Akari’s voice, as well as her glance back at the dishes to her side, told Ingo she would much rather keep avoiding the issue. But she wasn’t, and he appreciated it. “I guess I should.”
“Good.” Ingo encouraged her with a final reassuring pat on the shoulder, before looking around her unit, between the pot of soup and the half-cleaned dishes. “Now, you go check, and I’ll get started on cleaning things up. We can figure out how to navigate the tracks before us once we know what’s going on.”
Akari sucked in a breath and released it, trying to force all her anxiety out with it. “…Ok. I’ll go check.”
Ingo picked up the half-cleaned dishes that Akari had started washing, and began to scrub them clean as she moved into the back section of the unit, where her bed and mirror were set up.
As Ingo scrubbed one of the bowls, occasionally scooping more fresh water out of the table-side container, he fretted over Akari and what she would find.
What if it really was a cracked tooth? She did say she had been bashed around by sliggoo quite a few times… those tough metal shells were not padded at all. He hoped it was nothing more than soreness, but prolonged consistent pain that made it difficult to eat did not sound good.
And removal of a cracked tooth was not fun in the slightest. He should know. It was incredibly painful, even with dulling medicinals, and the throbbing hurt lingered for days afterwards.
But why tell Akari any of this? He hoped nothing was wrong, so that he wouldn’t have to. If something was, then perhaps he would take steps to prepare her for it, but he didn’t want to have to do that.
With the bowls clean, Ingo moved to pick up the soup pot from where it hung over the irori. Looking inside, there was still a small amount left, just enough for about one more bowl. Maybe he should ask Akari if she had something he could store the rest of the soup in-
“Ingo!”
A quick turn of his head, and he spotted Akari standing in front of her bedside mirror, face very close to the glass and thoroughly inspecting her teeth with her head turned at an awkward angle - partially to get the best look at her tooth, and partially to be able to look in the mirror without standing on top of all the assorted junk she had piled around her.
She did love her space-time distortion souvenirs, and often kept all the leftover wrappers and bags neatly stored away. Ingo just had no idea she had so many.
“I think I found the problem!”
“Is it cracked?” Against his wishes, Ingo was beginning to dread the answer, but the fact that she had found something at all worried him.
“No…” Akari pulled the side of her mouth back with a finger, inspecting her teeth again. “I don’t think so? I mean, I definitely see something, but I can’t tell…”
“Allow me to check, if you’d like,” Ingo offered as he approached her, leaving the soup pot behind; now he was curious.
“This one, I think-“ Akari tapped one of her bottom-row bicuspids as she opened her mouth, tugging one of the sides back with a finger, and Ingo lowered down to take a quick peek at it.
Don’t be a cracked tooth, please, don’t be a cracked tooth…
Once he spotted it, Ingo was pleasantly surprised to see that indeed, it was not a cracked tooth.
Instead, it was a developing cavity.
Small and easy to miss, it was not much more than a dark line on the side of her tooth. Thankfully, it was clearly in the early stages of development, and even Ingo could tell that it was not far enough along to be past the point of irreversible damage.
And while a cavity was not a good thing, it certainly was good news to Ingo, considering the alternative. She would not have to lose the tooth.
“Well?” Akari pulled away from him, a little impatient now to know what it was. Ingo could see the concern in her eyes, and it relieved him to know he wouldn’t have to confirm such worries.
“I’m pleased to report that it is not cracked, but there’s a small cavity-“
“-A cavity!”
“Just a small one! It’s in the very early stages, and should be able to be managed without removal. You will be fine if you can stay on top of it.”
“Oh thank Arceus,” Akari heaved a sigh of relief. “So, I can just fix it myself? No tooth pulling?”
“Well, it would still be good to allow Miss Pesselle to take a look at it first, and ensure nothing needs to be done,” Ingo reasoned. “I’d be happy to accompany you if you’d like, but I have a feeling she will simply remind you to brush frequently if she doesn’t think it needs to be pulled.”
“But I already do! I brush my teeth twice a day!” Akari defended herself. “And I rinse! Just like how I always did it at home, and I never got any cavities then!”
Ingo glanced back down at the stacks of empty wrappers and snack bags on the floor. With a sigh, he realized what the problem most likely was, and reached down to pluck one of the bags up from off its stack.
“Well, I regret to inform you that with fuel like this, brushing twice a day might not be enough with Hisui’s dental management methods.” Ingo explained, holding the empty snack bag up. “Current toothpaste may not be enough as is. I recommend you start adding medicinal leek filling to your toothpaste powder until it mends.”
“How do you know that’s going to work?,” Akari frowned as she was handed back the bag, and moved to set it back on its stack.
“You are generous enough to share a considerable amount of these things with me,” Ingo reminded her. “And Miss Calaba was not pleased at all when she discovered I had added such things to my diet. But undeniably, she is very knowledgeable when it comes to medicinals and treatments. Trust me, it is effective.”
Akari made a face, most likely imagining how bitter the toothpaste would become once leek filling was added to it, but Ingo could see that she was ultimately relieved to have such a relatively easy solution to her problem.
“…Alright. I’ll, um… I’ll go see Pesselle when the rain stops, and get it checked out. And I guess I need to pick up some more leeks as well. Would you come with me?”
The heavy, constant rain pattering against the roof of the unit didn’t sound like it was going to stop anytime soon. They’d be here for a while if they were to wait for it to let up, but Ingo didn’t have anywhere else to go for today. And he would not leave her after she asked him to stay - he knew she was looking for a source of comfort.
“Of course, Miss Akari.”

it goes 5, 6, 7, 8, 1, 2, San, 4, HAI!! learn how to count, Yuru Yuri fans!!!
Guys.
GUYS!
I get it, okay
the yuruyuri album art's really cool
I mean look at this one
Tumblr media
wow!!
and then look at sakurako's omg...
Tumblr media
omg!!
and then, huh!? they can be put together!?!?
wow let's see that-!!
(someone please tell me that "readmore" thing worked! if it didn't, blame @powwuten yep please and thank you)
Tumblr media
Wow that's so cool wh-HUH!?!?!???
What's happened to Himawari's arm!?!!?
that's because.. s1 albums were designed with the gap in mind!
according to me.
well, my speculation.
look, I may or may not've made that the heck up, but look:
Tumblr media
here are sakurako and himawari's from san hai
(note: AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA HALF THE POST JUST DELETED ITSELF!! Everything from here on out had to be rewritten.. now you don't get to see my original thoughts...)
Those are sakurako and himawari's! Seamless! you can't even tell where the original images start and end!
but now, let's look at them in real life!:
Tumblr media
Here they are! notice anything? other than my horrible camera quality and the scratches on sakurako? (Please do not bring your most prized possessions to school!) It's that they Don't align! because of that little gap the albums have!
So that got me thinking, were the s1 albums designed with that in mind??
let's see!:
Tumblr media
so.. probably not...
but there's a chance! the gap masks it a bit!!
anyways, despite all that talk, this post is actually about something else!
yeah, shocker, right!?!
so, let's look at the yryr albums, see how they connect, and see what Moon's problem is with people couting NORMALLY in the san hai ones,
okay, let's start!
season 1's albums are labelled, and were released, in this order:
Akari, Yui, Kyouko, Chinatsu, Sakurako, Himawari, Ayano, Chitose
(we're ignoring mirakurun here!!)
now, this order is so weird compared to the other season! but whatever, let's see what the albums look like!
Tumblr media
odd. and here's what they all look like in a row, if you were curious!:
Tumblr media
so, looking at the top pic, these obviously weren't supposed to have their art just put side by side like that
but maybe the albums were supposed to be displayed side by side?
this order IS correct, look at the backgrounds, the gorakubu and seitokai are both spelling 「ゆるゆり」 (yuruyuri!) so this IS the correct order...
but tell me.
TELL ME.
WHY is sakurako BEFORE himawari??
Who's choice was that??
anyways, other than sakuhima's these don't look like they were made to be displayed side by side...
as opposed to s2!! let's see-!!:
Tumblr media
The order changed to Akari, Chinatsu, Kyouko, Yui, Ayano, Chitose, Sakurako, Himawari. it'll stay the same for san hai, save for yui and kyouko swapping
Tumblr media
Everything comes together to make THIS! Beautiful! Tumblr compression doesn't do it justice. well, maybe it does, idk it looks blurry in the editor
Tumblr media
like that.
anyways, the s2 one is gorgeous! althought I prefer the individual art from san hai, s2's complete art is amazing!!!
(oh, I just realized: what if a non-yryr-fan is reading this post?? I should clarify: s3 is also known as san hai! s2 is also known as yuruyuri music note music note but the music notes are silent (akari told me herself!!))
okay, so now let's look at the s3 art!:
Tumblr media
(also this is what my taskbar looks like rn, idk thought I would share lol)
Tumblr media
Here are san hai's! They're so pretty!! other than yui's right arm being a little jank, (not sure if that's a problem with the original art or with fandom, which is where I'm getting these images), this one aligns pretty well!!
that is, until...
Tumblr media
Kyouko! Ayano! Your HAIR!! So long...
sometimes I see these displayed side by side and I'm like UGHH
cuz the solution is LITERALLY SO SIMPLE.
LOOK.
instead of counting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8, just count 5 6 7 8 1 2 3 4!!
Tumblr media
Yeah!
Now we have physics!
That simple!!
WoooO!!!
yeah. that's what this entire post was leading up to.
me proving a point to.. some imaginary audience...
anyways, I wanted to make this post because, for one thing, I don't hear people talk about the yryr songs! well, I do, but NOT ENOUGH!!
Some of my favourite songs of all time are in the yuru yuri character songs!!
guys! please! LISTEN TO THEM!!!
anyways, that's all from me, I hope you enjoyed this post!
cyaa~

IT’S DONE. Who Is She (Reprise) with Zoroakari! If you have or haven’t seen this part in Centaurworld, be aware that there is essentially an attempted suicide that is thwarted.
Tumblr media
This was both a massive pain but also SO MUCH FUN to work on. I haven’t enjoyed drawing like this for a whiiiiiile! i am already considering other music i can doodle stuff to fdjkaflad This has been in the works for a Hot Minute bc I could only get so far with no way to add music u_u Pretty sure you can see the style difference change a lil! QuQ;;
SUPER DUPER THANKS to @psidontknow for slipping me the means to add music to the storyboard sketches, i love you!!!
I know the art isn’t the best but hey, you know what? I enjoyed myself, and that’s what matters ♥ I DO want to one day work this out a bit more because in making it I discovered a couple scenes I wanted to change but once they were on the music I was unwilling to swap them! So, we’ll see if this ever goes past a sketch!
Story Description below the cut!
IN SHORT: Zoroark!Akari has only vague memories of who she was before she died and became a Zoroark. She realizes that her humanity is slipping away after she kills a Ginkgo Guild member (Volo) and wonders who she used to be. Having heard of the odd Zoroark and seen her around a time or two, Ingo approaches her to either capture her or put her down, believing her to be dangerous, when she... turns and runs, chasing a ghost. After following the ghost to a cliff she watches the girl fade away, leaving just Zoroakari behind. She has some Thoughts on her past, vague memories of her death, and then hears a noise behind her. Panicked, she reacts by attacking whoever is behind her- which turns out to be Ingo, who followed her wondering why the Zoroark ran. There’s definitely some odd similarities to Akari, who went missing several months prior. Seeing what she’s done and knowing that she’s already killed one person and could easily kill another, Zoroakari approaches the cliff’s edge and gives up. Ingo was only knocked back so he sees her approaching the edge and tries to stop her, but she’s so lost in her own mind and misery that she never hears him. He charges off the cliff after her and calls out Gliscor to aid him in gaining momentum, throwing a pokeball at the Zoroark. Zoroakari is not expecting to be tagged with such an item and is Displeased that someone is foiling her plans to save other people, but is pulled into the pokeball. Ingo manages to catch it right before they hit the trees, with Gliscor coming to a rough stop. Ingo dismounts and looks down at the pokeball in his hand- you can’t catch a human with a pokeball, so has he caught Akari or something else?
(Ingo does go back for his hat, only to discover that Lady Sneasler has already picked it up and was searching for him. He never leaves his hat behind so she worried something had happened to her Warden.)

wouldn’t it suck if when Ingo returned home, Arceus mentally yeeted Ingo back to the exact moment he left. it’s one thing if he physically blips out of existence and then blips right back into existence, four years older but just imagine that Arceus thinks he’s doing Ingo a solid by not only returning him to the exact time he left, but also the exact age!
(It is not, but Arceus does not know that.)
POV: You are Emmet. Your brother suddenly collapsed, but before you can call an ambulance, he’s already waking up again. You sigh in relief, but it’s short-lived because now Ingo is staring at you like you’re a stranger. He’s saying something, but you can’t understand it. It isn’t any language you know.
Something is verrry wrong.

non-serious AU where Pokemon fuckery happens while in Hisui and Ingo and Akari switch ages. they get stuck in a space time distortion and when they come out, Ingo is 15 and Akari is 29 but are otherwise mentally the same.
finally the great debate over Ingo’s actual age is settled, but not in the way everyone thought it would be. Melli is so frustrated bc he’s either forced to admit that Akari must just have really, really good genes to looks so young at 50 or that Ingo was actually a lot younger than he’d thought.
Lady Sneasler sees that her warden has gotten so much smaller and her eyes just sparkle. he is truly a little kit now. she’s going to dote on him so much.
tbf the urge to dote on teen Ingo is very strong. his glaring eyes and constant frown wrap back around into being adorable when put on a teen’s face.
Akari is having the time of her LIFE. She’s a cool adult now. Arezu I need a new cool adult hairstyle STAT.
It’s less fun when she keeps hitting her head on things bc she’s used to being short though.
kamado voice: what the fuck is this bullshit
Akari still refers to Ingo as ‘Uncle Ingo’ though, just bc old habits die hard and also it is very funny to me.
Ingo’s coat is too big for him now so he just resorts to wearing it tied around his waist instead. He begrudgingly gives his hat to Anthe to (hopefully) temporarily resize and she sneaks in a few repairs while she’s at it. maybe if this problem doesn’t resolve itself she’ll finally be given a chance to fix his damn coat. it bothers her every time she sees it.

some other fun facts:
Akari is fifteen years old when she’s dropped into Hisui. Immediately upon arrival, she’s attacked by a wild Pokemon and is badly injured. Irida is thankful that Lord Zoroark was there to find the strange girl and bring her back to the settlement- it likely saved her life. It’s a shame about her memories, however, but it is to be expected with a head injury as bad as hers.
Lord Zoroark frets over the girl the entire time. It’s kind of sweet, he seems to really care about her. Maybe this could be a good thing! This girl has nowhere else to go, and they have been looking for a Warden for him... maybe this is the solution they need.
Akari gratefully accepts the role, although she wishes it didn’t meant living in a tent on the boundary between the Icelands and the Highlands. It’s not as freezing there as the Settlement, but it’s still cold. At least Lord Zoroark will let her bury herself in his fur on the really chilly days.
Ingo does not really know what to make of his new lot in life. He supposes he’s grateful that he’s come to an understanding with the humans, but being assigned a Warden feels... strange. He’s not used to be treated like a Pokemon, as much as he’s always been one. He grew up being raised human, after all.
He does... sort of get used to it. There’s not much he can do about it. He cannot go home, and he’s unsure if it would even truly be a good idea. He regrets leaving things unresolved with Emmet, but maybe it’s better this way. Maybe this is his punishment.
He does grow very attached to his Warden, though. He sees Akari as a little sister, and helps teach her how to survive in Hisui.
A year into living in Hisui, Akari discovers Lord Zoroark can speak human language. He definitely didn’t mean for her to find out. She promises to keep it a secret, even from Irida!
Sometimes Ingo debates telling Warden Akari his name. It would be nice to hear it from someone that isn’t a Pokemon, but he decides against it. He’s gotten somewhat used to being called Lord Zoroark anyways.
It doesn’t matter anyways, because a year later Lord Braviary gets a new Warden. Sabi knows his human name somehow, but she promises she won’t tell anyone else. She also knows he can speak. When he hears she’s clairvoyant, he’s not even surprised. That makes sense.
Ingo befriends a Gligar and a Machop during his time in Hisui, and without really thinking about it, helps train them. It reminds him a bit of his old life, so he enjoys it. Akari thinks they’re his friends, and helps find the items to achieve their final evolutions. People naturally assume they’re her Pokemon.
Akari has a Mismagius and a Lucario! She doesn’t tell anyone that Lord Zoroark has been helping her train them. That would sound so silly!
The Pearl Clan grows to deeply respect their new Noble Pokemon. He is not nearly as intimidating as he first appears, and seems... strangely polite for a Pokemon, much less a Zoroark. For his part, Ingo finds it strange to be spoken to with such respect and reverence but he does get kind of used to it after awhile.
The Pearl Clan also finds out that you can summon him just by blowing three short notes into the Celestica Flute. They do not know that he’s just responding to a reasonable approximate of a train whistle.
Even after Ingo is restored to his human body and everyone returns to the present, Ingo and Akari keep calling each other ‘Warden Akari’ and ‘Lord Zoroark’ out of pure force of habit. They sort of give up on correcting it after awhile.

scenario where Ingo returns to the future but he’s still in Sinnoh and doesn’t have his memories, so he just chills there for like a year until someone finally recognizes him as the missing Subway Boss and gets into contact with Emmet.
He’s just been living in Celestic Town all this time. Most of the elderly locals just know him as the very polite young man who helps them with the upkeep of their homes and daily tasks that become more challenging as they start to get older. One of them lets him stay a spare room in their home, and they all just sort of assume (not incorrectly) that he’s a time traveler who ended up in the future and doesn’t have anywhere else to go. Cynthia visits her grandmother a couple of times during that year, but she always just misses him so they never end up meeting.
Ingo simply did not realize he’d been returned to his own time! He didn’t remember! So he just did what he did in Hisui- adjusted. At least he got to keep his Pokemon with him this time. He’s pretty sure he didn’t the last time! He’s just starting to think that this is something that just happens to him every couple of years or so. Occasionally he challenges trainers who pass through, always excited for the rare chance to battle and help these young trainers improve their technique.

akari’s arc-phone has a food delivery app. if she uses it, a tiny portal forms in front of whoever was unlucky enough to pick up her order at which point they just sort of. drop the bag through the space time hole. it’s a little jumbled up once Akari catches it, but hey!! she’s got take out now!!
Akari: UNCLE INGO CHECK IT OUT. I CAN GET US BURGERS.
(Akari places the order. Seconds later, a bag of fast food burgers drops from the sky. she catches it expertly)
Ingo, who definitely does not remember what a burger is but does know he’s been craving one: BRAVO AKARI

[Dan sits with Akari while getting her field agent license renewed.]
Head Agent: Well, let's see here Miss Yuri. On the driving portion you totaled every car but the one you were driving. On the pistol range you refused to use a gun, and — heh heh, here's my favorite — on the written you drew the little guy with wings from the Led Zeppelin records.
Akari: Icarus. So, uh, what are trying to tell me here, little man, that you don't like Zep?
(The agent stands and rips the written portion in half)
Agent: You probably don't remember me. But you saved my life when I was a kid. You gave me a new way to see things and taught me not everyone in the outskirts is a selfish menace.
Dan, looks surprise: When was this?
Agent: 15 years ago... My family's farm was ransacked and we were chased out into the wilderness. the bandits were closing in and I thought for sure we were dead... When this girl who look no older then I was back then appeared. She fought like feral beast with nothing to lose and when it was over turned her sights on us...
Agent: My family thought we were next, instead she calmly wiped the blood off her face told us gather what we could and to follow her. That girl escorted us through the monster infested wasteland for almost a week before safely leaving us at a UFG outpost, then she was gone before we could even thank her...
Akari, nods: Oh yeah. I remember now, you grew up!
Agent: And you still look the same age as we met...Guess the rumors about you being an alien were true.
Dan, as his expression darkens: So what if she is?
Agent, coughs and averts his eyes:
Akari: Dad... he had a crush on me.
Dan: ....Oh. I see, sorry.
Agent: It's fine, it probably wouldn't worked out anyways, especially now.
Akari: Yeah...That's why I'm always iffy about dating, I don't want any of my potential partners to be labeled as a creep or thrown into jail.
Agent: Yes, An-anyway, back to you're results. You passed. I just need you to sign these forms and expect your new badge and license to be ready in two weeks... and Akari? Thank you.
[Akari nods.]
[Despite being raised by bandits Akari has very strong sense of justice, she despises when people abuse power and use it to bully the weak, she acted kind of like a watchdog out in the wastelands.]
