Figured I'd share a couple of Appmon character song voice synth covers I did recently. (Trying with audio files since Tumblr's not a fan of video files at least in my experience)
First there's Maze with Miku and Zundamon (first time I've used Voicevox, really fun software!)
And then I found out Synthesizer V Eri has a feature limited trial so of-Eri-course I had to cover Appmon Eri's songs with her! (please get the reference)
Synth V Eri is made for rapping so she doesn't really fit Appmon Eri's idol style but this was still a fun test! I used the rap mode on the fast parts and they sounded great!
This was also almost entirely AI tuned (I messed with a couple parameters) as opposed to the Maze cover which I tuned myself.
Hope you enjoy these!

DigiWeek 2021
Day 5 - Crossover
OH HOW I WAITED FOR THIS MOMENT
I always thought that Digimon could have an awesome crossover with Rockman.EXE (a.k.a. Mega Man Battle Network or Mega Man NT Warrior)!!! I love these two franchises so much it should be illegal just for my friends' sake who have to put up with me talking about them 75% of the time XD
Now think with me for a moment here. Both franchises are about digital creatures and artificial intelligence. Both franchises have people + digital partners duos and/or groups. Both franchises have their real world and their digital/cyber world. Both franchises go about the topics of partnership, friendship, teamwork. As I look at it, I can totally see a very cool opportunity to put two and two together, taking characters from one franchise to another for an adventure.
To represent my idea, I picked Eri Karan, the Appli Driver who's also an idol; and I picked Roll.EXE, the NetNavi partner of Meiru Sakurai. I drew both of them performing their signature moves, Eri's Dokkan Punch and Roll's Roll Arrow.
I think these girls would get along very well! Not to mention that the two of them have their #1 fans: Eri has total love and admiration from her partner Dokamon, while Roll has full support and help from the dog virus Rush. I couldn't leave them out of the picture, right?
On a last note, I am insanely proud of how I drew Eri's hands here and I am 99,9% sure I'll never be able to draw such good fists like this ever again in my life. These will be my legacy on drawing hands and I'm totally ok with it.

Applimonsters Saturdays: Dokamon, de wasu
Fittingly enough, our second Appmon falls on the same week we covered Gabumon, as today we’re covering Dokamon, Applimonsters’ answer to the “Gabumon” archetype.
Tumblr media
Dokamon here is a Game App Appmon of the Action Type. Spoiler alert: he represents action game applications.
Tumblr media
Dokamon - Game Type | App: Action Attacks: Dokkan Punch, Doka Doka Rush, Doka Crash
Rowdy by nature, fighting against strong opponents fires it up. Possessing great physical abilities as well as a sturdy fist, it always seeks for opportunities to test its power.
- Translation by Wikimon.
Dokamon proves that Applimonsters didn’t completely stray from its roots. With his association with the color blue, vaguely mammalian appearance, and cybernetic body parts, he has a lot of classical traits associated with Gabumon-type characters. He also has some elements of V-mon and Gumdramon, who are “main protag” Digimon, but they mix things up enough to be interesting.
However, what makes Dokamon most interesting is his partner, or “Buddy” in the anime. While I’m not focusing primarily on the anime for these reviews, Appmon is a bit more closely tied to its animation on a conceptual level, so it’s worth talking about here.
Tumblr media
Yes, Appmon’s “No. 2″ character, their answer to characters like Yamato, is Karan Eri, the first female character to fill the role since Ruki and Jianliang arguably shared it in Tamers. It would be remiss of me to avoid mentioning how Eri is my favorite Appmon character, and it’s partly due to her contrast with Dokamon. Eri is an up and coming idol, who builds her identity around her ego and proudly threatening to punch people, but she’s not completely sold on Dokamon partly due to his overwhelming affection for her and this not really reflecting her true personality. Dokamon and Eri are a pretty atypical match up, and one of the more creative partner-Digimon duos we’ve ever had.
If I had to dock Dokamon for one thing, it’s that his App isn’t quite as immediately obvious as it is for Gatchmon and some others. “Action games” is a pretty broad category, of course, and I can’t imagine what a tiny, toddler-sized version of Dante or Bayonetta would look like, so it’s not quite that much of a big deal.
Dokamon gets...

There's a lot of talk about the openings and endings of Digimon, but what are your favorite insert songs in the series?
This is a tough one because it's hard to separate the mood you get listening to it in an episode from the mood you get jamming to it elsewhere. That makes more of a difference in this one and I'm trying to reconcile the two.
I'll give my top five, but I gave up trying to rank them beyond that:
Brave Heart (Adventure)
This one's almost mandatory, right? And yet it's mellow in comparison to some of the jams we get later. Really earns its keep in some of the more desperate battles later on in the series.
Beat Hit (Zero Two)
Definitely one where the meaning of the song supports the feel of the song itself. The pops at the beginning support the Jogress sequences, but hearing "STANDING BY YOUR SIDE" on top of that? More please.
Tagiru Chikara (Hunters)
It's almost mandatory for anyone discussing Hunters to exempt Tagiru Chikara from any criticisms of the series itself. This song is fierce.
Be My Light (Appmon)
Definitely one that had to grow on me, and maybe a little wild for its own good, but it's used in so many epic spots in the series that it's associated with heavy emotion. Holding it until the second half of the series really pays off in that regard.
Break the Chain (Adventure:)
All of the evo songs in the reboot are lit but they save the best for last. Between that and the action, it's really an overload. And that instrumental towards the end of the last episode? Wow.
And since they're often excluded from these kinds of questions, honorable mention goes to the more downbeat songs covering some of the more reflective moments, especially when they work in B-sides like "Seven," Boku wa Boku Tatte," or "3 Primary Colors." My fave of these is probably "Yubikiri Egao de Dokkan Punch," Eri's idol song from Appmon. It's first usage singlehandedly elevates an episode that secretly is pretty bad, and comes back in for the election as an emotional triumph.

Appmon Ep11 Liveblog
On the hunt for the notorious muggers Rei and Hackmon, the App Drivers take a trip to the beach. They also go to the sea of the net but that’s not important.
another round-style episode! i’m keeping track. one of the most significant things about the round episodes is how it makes the Appmon look cuter and the App Drivers look more like kids
out of everyone, Haru seems the most bummed out about losing the seven code Appmon to Rei... it’s kind of hard to tell how bummed out Eri and Astora are, since they both seem to be putting on a bit of a facade to cheer Haru up. this tracks, though, since throughout the show Haru always seems, like, the most aware of the damage Leviathan could do. Eri trying to cheer up Haru by dokkan punching things is nice, the two of them make good friends.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
gatchmon: “i see you’re running your seasonal foodstand on the beach again. in the middle of december.”
Tumblr media
i really find the AR field and sea of the net to be good, modern takes on digital worlds. i’d like to eventually write a longer, more elaborate, and more comprehensive post about this, but, basically it’s because of how it ties into modern concepts like AR and does a good job at representing the internet in a physical way with all the connecting streams and stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the fact that the Reviewmon mention Haru’s hair in their review is hilarious because literally the first thing I thought about Haru when I first started watching the show was that his green hair looked dumb
gossip is normally negative... but everyone only has nice things to say about Eri. characters who try to maintain a tough or arrogant image but are actually very considerate are great.
Tumblr media
undertale multicolored tile puzzle
speaking of losses after handily defeating foes for so long, everyone has a really rough time with Sakusimon — to the point where Dokachan and Musimon are basically one-shot by Sakusimon’s arena. Dogatchmon gets defeated easily, too.
Tumblr media
and so Rei’s actual reason for mugging everyone is (mostly) revealed. Rei’s whole deal is that he’s a loner, with Hackmon being the only exception to his rule of working alone. but it seems that Hackmon (and by extension, Raidramon) cares quite a bit about Rei’s well-being, which is why Hackmon is more free in handing out vital pieces of information like who Hajime is. Hackmon wants Rei to reach out to others when he needs help.
This one is kind of a cliffhanger! tune in next time to find out if Rei actually takes everyone’s Appmon chips or not.
