★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 27 - Papa Crisis
Tumblr media
Banri: You guys can take a twenty-minute break here. Good work.
Masumi: The KniRoun Stage video is up.
Sakuya: Waah, it is!
Chikage: Lancelot’s pretty eye-catching.
Tsuzuru: He was even working on his sword fighting for KniRoun in between rehearsals. Must’ve been rough.
Banri: Nah, he was havin’ the time of his life, trust me.
Tumblr media
Citron: Itaru looks like he is having fun~.
Rento: Ooh~, his overseas debut, huh? Looks like he’s doin’ great.
Rento: Still, absolutely insane as hell that he’s comin’ back here right on openin’ day.
Izumi: It really, truly is…
Izumi: In the past, it would’ve been unthinkable to try and to this, but with the current Spring Troupe, I think we’ll be able to pull this plan, even with it cutting it so close.
Banri: Well, it’d be pretty nice to keep this kinda energy goin’ through openin’ day.
Tsumugi: I hope Itaru-kun was able to get to the airport safely.
Sakuya: It’s about time for his flight, right?
Chikage: Let’s check the chat.
*Phone notification*
Izumi: Ah, I just got a LIME from…
Itaru: “problem, can’t get on my flight, airport’s shut down bc of a strike.”
Tsuzuru: WHAT!?
Sakuya: A strike!? That won’t end any time soon…!
Tsumugi: Sometimes the end soon, but sometimes they go on for days. There’s no telling what will happen…
Banri: What’re we gonna do? I mean, we could get through openin’ day with an understudy, or delay it entirely, but…
Masumi: We considered a lot of factors when we picked the date of opening day. It’s the day that’ll give us the most views with the least competition from other troupes, so moving it should really be our last resort.
Izumi: Right… And refunding tickets would have a huge impact on our votes…
Izumi: We’ll still have to deal with refunds if we go for having an understudy, but the damage with that should be minimal.
Banri: Guess we gotta go with an understudy.
Sakuya: Um, can we at least wait until the very last minute?
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: We want to wait for Itaru-san’s return for as long as we can. Can we at least do that, please?
Izumi: …
Tsumugi: I can be ready to sub in at any time, so don’t worry about it.
Sakuya: Thank you so much!
Chikage: I’m arranging a flight for him at another airport as we speak. With this one, he’ll be able to just barely make it in time for the start of the performance.
Chikage: Someone get into contact with Chigasaki and tell him to hurry to catch the bus.
Tsuzuru: On it!
Tsuzuru: “Itaru-san, please hurry to the nearby airport ASAP!”
Chikage: The next bus is leaving at--.
Citron: “I will give you a lucky chant so you will make it in time!”
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Announcement: “The plane has arrived at Narita Aiport two hours later than scheduled.”
Announcement: “We sincerely apologize for the delay in its arrival due to weather conditions. We offer our deepest condolences to those affected by the delay.”
Tumblr media
Itaru: (CITRON used Lucky Chant! The Lucky Chant shielded me from a critical hit…!)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
UC: Run, Chigasaki.
Tumblr media
Itaru: (I am running!)
Saku: You can do it, Itaru-san!
Curry: director said she’s coming to pick you up
taruchi: dw abt it, it’ll be faster if i take a taxi
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Passerby A: Huh, is the line for getting a taxi really this long?
Passerby B: Probably because of a group of tourists~. Let’s just take the train.
Itaru: (Wait, the line for taxis is THIS long? Oh, I’m so screwed…)
Tumblr media
Itaru: (Should I ask Director-san to pick me up now?)
Itaru: (But I’m sure she’s busy getting everything ready for the start of the show. Not to mention, even if she comes now, we probably wouldn’t make it back in time for the start of the show anyway--.)

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 26 - There’s No Place Like Home
Tumblr media
*Door opens*
Masumi: I’m home.
Tsuzuru: Aahh~, finally home…
Itaru: I’m exhausted… There really is no place like home.
Sakuya: Welcome home!
Citron: I am phone~!
Chikage: You got back yesterday, right, Sakuya?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Yeah! I’m really glad I got to be the one to say “welcome home” to you guys!
Izumi: We’ve been waiting for all of you.
Banri: Startin’ tomorrow you guys are gonna have a pretty strict rehearsal schedule to follow.
Citron: What a sporkin’ assistant director~.
Tsuzuru: I think you mean “spartan”.
Tsuzuru: Ah, right. There’s something I wanna discuss about the script, can we talk about that later?
Izumi: Sure thing.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: Alright, to kick off our rehearsals starting up again, I’ll pass out the new scripts right away.
Sakuya: Did you rewrite the script?
Tsuzuru: Just a bit. I wanted to focus on Romeo’s sword-fighting scene a little more. I got the idea after seeing your sword fighting during our remote rehearsal the other day.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: I thought it’d be a good way to distinguish things from the original and change the pacing a bit.
Itaru: How’d you manage to rework things in such a short amount of time?
Tsuzuru: Thanks to the training camp, I was able to train my typing fingers to work even faster.
Itaru: Nice.
Izumi: I’ll go ahead and explain how the stage direction has changed to better fit the script.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Banri: Aight, let’s call it here for afternoon rehearsals.
Izumi: Good work, everyone.
Sakuya: Good work!
Itaru: Aghh… My body is still jet-lagged…
Chikage: There wasn’t even that much of a time difference between here and where you went.
Tsuzuru: Well, it is kinda tiring just being on a plane.
Izumi: Masumi-kun, are you able to have a quick promo meeting after this? Sakyo-san asked me to fill you in on the project we’ve been working on.
Masumi: I’ve actually been doing some research into that too.
Masumi: I think social media ads are a great way to get more votes from streaming and to target the recent theater user base.
Masumi: And we should get a good grasp on outdoor advertisements too… You can put them up for relatively cheap around this area.
Izumi: Really? I see…
Masumi: I think I can probably get us some ad space through my company.
Izumi: Really? Alright, we can put together a budget with that in mind.
Masumi: Got it. I’ll get right on it.
Tsuzuru: Masumi’s really starting to look like a guy who’s in charge of promo.
Itaru: The rate at which he’s growing as a short-term intern is actually just sickening.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: That’s our Masumi-kun.
Chikage: And you’re getting even better at sword fighting, Sakuya.
Tsuzuru: I decided to change the script thinking it’d be kinda difficult for you, but it turned out to be no problem at all.
Sakuya: Really? Thank you so much!
Banri: I’m sure you’re able to show the audience that Romeo’s grown up to be pretty damn strong since the original while out on his journey, right?
Sakuya: I’ll do my best!
Citron: I feel like Chikage has also changed since going out on his trip~!
Itaru: True. It’s not quite the same as growing up, but he definitely seems to be some kind of refreshed.
Chikage: Is that so? I wonder if I really have had a change of mental state since I got some closure on my feelings.
Banri: By the way, we got a request for an interview from some foreign press the other day. That ‘cause of you, Citron?
Tsuzuru: Whoa, was it really from overseas?
Citron: I am instanding when it comes to publicity!
Tsuzuru: It’s “outstanding”.
Itaru: Makes sense since a minister’s definitely got a high visibility stat.
Izumi: That said, we’ve only got a limited number of people here who can correspond with people overseas, so it’d be great if we could have your help in this regard, Chikage-san.
Chikage: Understood.
Citron: Maybe I can work with Chikage to develop things directed at the entire world!
Sakuya: I think that’s a great idea!
Masumi: Then I’ll come up with some ideas too.
Itaru: All of you are out here shining while I’m stuck as a corporate slave that’s only gained more fatigue from all of this…
*Phone buzzes*
Itaru: Ah, sorry, it’s the company.
Izumi: Go ahead.
Itaru: Thank you for your hard work. This is Chigasaki.
Itaru: Yes… What was that… Oh, I see. Understood. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this.
Itaru: Yes, I’ll get in contact with you later. I look forward to working with you.
*Beep*
Tumblr media
Itaru: Hell yeah, baby!
Sakuya: Did something happen?
Itaru: Hm~, sorta. I’m just having a rare happy moment where I’m actually happy with my job.
Citron: Congratulations!
Chikage: We’re happy for you.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Itaru: 《Well then, I’ll leave this matter to you.》
Itaru: 《Also, regarding the matter we discussed the other day, is your schedule looking okay for that?》
Itaru: 《Understood. I’m pleased to be working with you. Now, if you’ll excuse me.》
*Beep*
Itaru: Haah…
Itaru: (I know I’m the one who started this whole thing, but God, I’ve been so busy planning this ceremonial event…)
Itaru: (Well, it’s forgiven because of what it’s related to.)
*Phone rings*
Itaru: Thank you for your hard work. This is Chigasaki.
Tumblr media
Itaru: End Links is--? Understood, please put them through.
Itaru: Hello, the line has been switched. This is Chigasaki. It’s been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of talking to you.
Itaru: Thank you so much for your cooperation with this ceremonial event.
Itaru: Yes, both the local fans and Japanese fans have high expectations regarding--Yes.
Itaru: …Pardon?
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsuzuru: You got an offer to play Lancelot as part of the overseas KniRoun Stage!?
Itaru: I mean, sorta? It’s just a music concert, though, so it’s more like a guest performance where I’d do some minor sword fighting during it.
Itaru: Hoshii-san called me to tell me that the stageplay of KniRoun is really appreciated among overseas fans.
Citron: It is amazing that you heard that directly from Director Hoshii!
Sakuya: That’s just how much your Lancelot is recognized by both Hoshii-san and the fans, Itaru-san!
Itaru: Yeah… It’s honestly pretty nice to hear.
Tumblr media
Itaru: But even though I was the one who submitted the plan for KniRoun for the ceremonial event, I’m still crazy surprised because I never thought they’d offer something to me personally.
Chikage: KniRoun fans both in Japan and around the world are going to be paying attention because of where it’s taking place. There’ll be a lot of PVs from overseas, so it’s a great PR opportunity too.
Citron: It will absolutely be peeling them!
Masumi: Not peel, it’s “appeal”.
Itaru: But the event date’s right before Spring Troupe’s performance. And I’d need about a two or three-day schedule for all the rehearsals and everything…
Itaru: And even if I were to leave there immediately after the show if you add in the travel time, I’d be back home on our opening day.
Itaru: There’s just not enough time. I don’t think there’s any way for this to work.
Izumi: But it’s such a great opportunity--.
Masumi: Don’t you want to do it?
Itaru: Well, of course, but…
Itaru: If I have to choose between it and Spring Troupe, I’m choosing Spring Troupe, no hesitation.
Tsuzuru: …Isn’t there something we can do?
Banri: …You said you’d need about two or three days, right? You could prolly get away with it if you’d be chill with losing out on your off days from rehearsals.
Izumi: Right. We’ve been making good progress, so…
Chikage: There are lots of flights that depart at night and arrive here early in the morning on opening day. You’d be able to make it in time for the start of the show, and you’d probably be able to be part of the dress rehearsal too.
Izumi: It’ll be okay, Itaru-san.
Tumblr media
Itaru: --.
Tsumugi: If you need an understudy, I’ll be able to handle it. I practiced a bit with Sakuya-kun the other day.
Tenma: I can help out too.
Sakuya: Please go and do it, Itaru-san!
Masumi: Hasn’t our whole thing been taking on new challenges as much as we can, no matter how reckless they might seem?
Tsuzuru: If you’re hesitating about something, then you should just go ahead and do it. That’s what I thought when I decided to do my scriptwriting training camp.
Chikage: We’ll make it all work, somehow.
Citron: If you love your child, sell them out on a journey!
Tsuzuru: Send, not sell.
Itaru: …Thanks, guys. I’ll go ahead and take this chance.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 25 - I’m Home
Tumblr media
Izumi: Can everyone see everything okay? Is the sound working too?
Citron: “It is a-okay for me~!”
Sakuya: “I’m good too!”
Tsuzuru: “Sakuya, where are you right now?”
Chikage: “Isn’t that the Edo period?”
Citron: “Are you a time graveler!?”
Tsuzuru: “It’s time ‘traveler’.”
Tumblr media
Sakuya: “Ahaha, when I told the supervisor about our remote rehearsal, he kindly lent me the theater’s stage to use for it.”
Izumi: I’m glad to see that you all seem lively. It’s kind of a relief since it’s been so long since I’ve seen your faces.
Tsuzuru: “For us, it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long since we’ve been talking on BlooCha.”
Izumi: Oh yeah, you did mention that you were going to try using that. Is it different from LIME?
Sakuya: “Because of our time zone differences, there’s a lot of times when we barely manage to bump into each other, but it’s still really fun. It’s kinda like a message board or collective diary.”
Tsuzuru: “If we get our timing right, it really does feel like we’re all in the same room.”
Masumi: “And you’re all just as annoying as ever when I’m trying to study.”
Tsuzuru: “That reminds me, when are you getting your temps, Masumi?”
Izumi: Huh, you’re getting your license?
Masumi: “I’m in driver’s ed right now. I’m just about to get my temps. I can’t wait to have you in the passenger seat, Director.”
Citron: “Leave the backseat to me!”
Sakuya: “You seem like you’d be really good at driving, Masumi-kun.”
Chikage: “I guess we’ll hand over the role of Spring Troupe’s designated driver to you, Masumi.”
Masumi: “I’m getting a two-seater.”
Tsuzuru: “You really only want Director riding along with you, huh?”
Izumi: Seems like Itaru-san is running a little late. Let’s go ahead and start warming up without him.
Izumi: The purpose of today is to prepare you for when you all come back next week and pick up rehearsals again, so just take it easy, okay?
Izumi: If you can move, move. If you don’t have the space, just run through your lines.
Izumi: I’ll let you know of any changes in direction as things pop up.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: --Alright, let’s stop here for a moment. It’s been a while for all of you, but you’re all doing a great job of remembering things.
Sakuya: “This is the first time we’ve done remote rehearsals, but it was kinda refreshing.”
Masumi: “We’re further away than when we’re in person, so it’s kind of like we’ve got to rely on your memory to know how everyone else’s acting goes.”
Chikage: “There’s still a bit of a timing delay due to our mode of communication, though.”
Citron: “I cannot wait to practice with you all phase to phase again~!”
Masumi: “Face to face.”
Tsuzuru: “By the way, Sakuya, your sword fighting really has improved a lot.”
Tumblr media
Sakuya: “Huh, really!?”
Sakuya: “I’ve actually been really practicing my sword fighting skills for my current performance so I can apply them to when I play Romeo.”
Izumi: I can really see the results of that.
Tsuzuru: “Ah, right--.”
Itaru: “Sorry I’m late.”
Izumi: Good work today.
Sakuya: “Good work!”
Citron: “You are just in time!”
Izumi: Let’s start with the scene with Mercutio, Tybalt, and Father Lawrence.
Itaru: “Roger that.”
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: You guys were a little stiff at first, but once you started getting a feel for practicing remotely, you really managed to get back into the swing of things.
Izumi: It’s reassuring to see that Spring Troupe’s atmosphere hasn’t changed a bit.
Sakuya: “We’re still able to act together even when apart.”
Tsuzuru: “Even though we’re physically in different places, it’s nice to feel like we’re all still connected while standing on the same stage.”
Izumi: Alright, I’ve given you all my direction-related feedback, so let’s call it here for rehearsals today.
Masumi: “Do you have a minute after this then?”
Izumi: Sure, what’s up?
Masumi: “I just sent you a plan proposal on LIME. Can you take a look at it?”
*Phone notification*
Izumi: …A promotion plan? Huh!? Did you come up with all of this, Masumi-kun?
Izumi: (This is incredible, it’s got as much detail as a real corporate-level proposal…)
Masumi: “I’m doing an internship with the promotion department right now, and this is some of the stuff I’ve learned.”
Izumi: I see… I think this is really well organized and put together. I’ll be sure to discuss the contents of this with Sakyo-san.
Tumblr media
Masumi: “Am I being useful?”
Izumi: Of course! It couldn’t have been an easy task for you to put this all together on your own. Thank you so much!
Masumi: “It’s nothing. I’m glad that I got a better understanding of just how hard you’re always working.”
Masumi: “So I want to help you from now on, too.”
Izumi: If you’re sure, then I’m glad. You’ll be a huge help.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Door opens*
Sakuya: “I’m back home!”
Izumi: Welcome home. You’re the first one back.
Sakuya: I was actually planning on coming back tomorrow, but the supervisor was nice enough to arrange for me to have today off…
Tumblr media
Sakuya: I really wanted to be the first one home so I’d be able to say “welcome home” to everyone else.
Sakuya: It made me really happy to have everyone else say that to me when I went on my solo trip…
Izumi: I see. I’m sure you can’t wait to see the others.
Sakuya: Yeah. I want to practice with everyone as soon as possible. I’ve been thinking about my acting plans a lot while I was away.
Sakuya: Thanks to all the motivation and knowledge I got from the other theater company’s performance, I was able to come up with a lot of different ideas…
Sakuya: So I’ve got so much to talk about while testing out new things.
Sakuya: Actually--I’m gonna head to the practice room for a bit!
Izumi: Huh? Right now?
Sakuya: I just really feel like I wanna move right now!
Izumi: Ahaha, don’t tire yourself out too much, though.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: One, two, three, four…
Tumblr media
Sakuya: (This will always be the most relaxing place for me to be. It really makes me feel like I’m back at home.)
Sakuya: (That reminds me, I wonder where all the other guys are right now. I’m guessing Citron-san and the others who are overseas right now have started making their way back…)

Tumblr media
Chikage: Well then, take care.
Company Employee A: Huh? You’re not on the same flight, Utsuki-san?
Tumblr media
Chikage: I still have a few errands left to take care of, so I switched my flight to tomorrow.
Company Employee A: I see. Well, you were a lifesaver this time. Thank you so much.
Company Employee B: It was thanks to you that we were able to successfully conclude our business negotiations, Utsuki-san. Their attitude towards the whole thing softened considerably compared to when we first asked.
Company Employee B: The power of language really is incredible.
Chikage: I’m glad I could help.
Company Employee A: Well then, we’ll take our leave.
Chikage: Good work.

Chikage: (Alright… Just in time to catch the next bus.)

Chikage: 《Thank you.》
Chikage: (I guess he can tell by my outfit that I’m not a local.)
Chikage: (Has it really been almost twenty years…?)
Chikage: (The city really has changed a lot since then. Well, that thing can’t be the same after all this time, right…?)
Chikage: (Anyway, the place where people are likely to gather is…)

Customer E: 《What are we gonna eat?》
Customer F: 《I’m not really that hungry, though.》
Tumblr media
Chikage: (How nostalgic. Just sitting here, there’s all kinds of languages being thrown around.)
Chikage: (This is a great place to get some multilingual input.)
Chikage: (If we as a theater company are going to expand our overseas outreach in the future, there’s no better way to do it than to have correspondence in as many languages as possible…)

Chikage: (If I relax for any longer, I’ll miss the bus.)

Chikage: (It doesn’t seem like it’s gotten any less safe, at least.)
Resident: 《That area’s already all filled up. You’d have to write really small if ya wanted to put something there.》
Tumblr media
Chikage: 《Does the graffiti here have some sort of meaning?》
Resident: 《Ahh, so you don’t know? Somewhere along the line, a rumor started goin’ around that if you wrote your name here, your dreams would come true.》
Resident: 《Even tourists started writin’ things here.》
Resident: 《Well, the owner doesn’t mind it, so it all just stays here.》
Resident: 《At first, there were just one or two things written up there.》
Chikage: --.
Chikage: (This is… my name…)

Chikage: (Hah, even now I still can’t figure out what he was thinking.)
Chikage: (Dreams, huh… Maybe the reason I was able to come here was because mine came true.)
Resident: 《Hm? I feel like I’ve seen your face somewhere before… Nah, you just look like an acquaintance of mine.》
Tumblr media
Chikage: ?
Resident: 《You kinda look like an old colleague of mine. Your smile, especially.》
Resident: 《He passed away decades ago, though.》
Resident: 《His wife also passed away a few years back due to an illness… I’m pretty sure they had a son, but I think he was sent somewhere far away, or something like that.》
Chikage: 《...I’ve heard that I have distant relatives from around this area, so maybe there’s a connection there.》
Resident: 《Maybe so. If only his wife were still alive… I’m sure she’d be happy.》
Resident: 《A while back, I asked her about her son, and she said she’d probably never see him again, but all she hoped was that he wasn’t alone.》
Resident: 《Lookin’ at you, I feel like I’m seein’ their son.》

Tumblr media
Chikage: (Selfish to the very end.)
Chikage: (I didn’t feel loved by them. Hell, I don’t even know if I love them.)
Chikage: (As a kid, they were like a huge, detestable existence that loomed over me. Even after they left me, no matter how much time passed, they stayed imprinted on me, like a scar that can’t be removed…)
Chikage: (But, I get it now… I never have to look at this name again.)
Chikage: (It doesn’t exist anywhere in this world.)
Chikage: (...I wonder what this feeling is. It’s not really nostalgia, sadness, or relief.)
Chikage: (It’s like one small sense of closure… It feels like it’s fitting into my heart somewhere. Like a book fitting into a shelf where it belongs.)
Resident: 《If you have distant relatives around here, why not visit their graves?》
Chikage: 《--I’ll have to pass since I have a bus to catch. I need to get back to my family soon.》
Resident: 《Gotcha, have a good trip.》

Kazunari: I’ll snap a commemorative screenshot~.
Taichi: Is the interview in English? It’s crazy that Citron’s speaking without an interpreter!
Guy: This is a good opportunity to showcase the Kingdom of Zahra to notable figures in the culture and entertainment fields. It is most effective to communicate with those people in their own language.
Guy: Citronia has acquired foreign language skills to a certain degree for diplomatic purposes.
Banri: Even so, he’s completely different from the usual Citron.
Banri: Can switchin’ to a different language really make that much of a difference?
Guy: In his position, you must have a good outward appearance to a certain degree.
Guy: However, when he speaks Japanese, he is able to somewhat let his inner personality out more.
Banri: Yeah, I think he’s lettin’ it out a lil’ too much…
Tenma: I’m kind of surprised that he’s been able to keep it in at all.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Citron: 《As the people of Zahra have become increasingly more interested in them, we would like to invite many excellent theatrical and musical performances from overseas to the Kingdom of Zahra.》
Citron: 《I myself belong to a Japanese theater company called MANKAI Company, which has performed overseas in the Kingdom of Zahra.》
Citron: 《Based on that experience, I believe that we can be of great help in terms of support for overseas companies.》
Tumblr media
Citron: 《We hope to have many new encounters through this.》
*Applause*
Arts Festival Participant A: 《I have not yet had the experience of visiting your country. I have always hoped to have an opportunity like this someday.》
Citron: 《We look forward to your visit. We have many theater fans among our people, and they will certainly give you a very warm welcome.》
Arts Festival Participant B: 《I have heard much of your success, Prince Citronia. My impression of the Kingdom of Zahra being a more open nation has strengthened thanks to you.》
Citron: 《A little wanderlust can be very useful sometimes.》
Arts Festival Participant A: 《Hahaha. Right, I will be starting a new project to combine theater with the latest in AI technology and--.》

Citron: …Phew.
Citron: (I’m almost through with the greetings.)
Tumblr media
Citron: (After all, if we look beyond Japan and Zahra, we can see that even if we just limit our scope to focus on theater, there is still a diverse range of development all around.)
Citron: (It is stimulating to actively go to places like these.)
Citron: (A whole new door, huh… That reminds me, I wonder if everyone in Spring Troupe watched the broadcast.)

Local Company Employee A: 《We’ll have our afternoon meeting here too, so come back here after you’re done with your lunch break.》
Coworker A: 《Understood.》
Local Company Employee B: 《That reminds me, you’re an actor, right, Chigasaki-san? We’d love to get your honest opinions on this plan.》

Passerby: 《You’re the guy who played Lancelot in KniRoun’s stageplay, right!?》
Itaru: 《Ah, yes.》
Passerby: 《I knew it! I can’t believe I’m meeting you in a place like this! This is incredible!》
Passerby: 《I watched the stream of your performance. It was so good! The way it was faithful to the original but still super interesting on stage, it was literally the best thing ever!》
Itaru: 《--Thank you.》
Passerby: 《But…》
Itaru: ?
Passerby: 《What I really loved was what you said before the performance.》
Passerby: 《I’ve been a fan of the original KniRoun since I was a kid, so I was kinda anxious about a stage adaptation.》
Passerby: 《But after hearing what you had to say as Lancelot’s actor, I knew that we had the same feelings and that the stage play was created with us fans in mind…》
Passerby: 《I was able to let myself jump into the world of KniRoun’s stageplay without a single worry. And it was all thanks to you.》
Passerby: 《Thank you so so much for being Lancelot’s actor!》
Tumblr media
Itaru: 《The pleasure’s mine. Thank you for watching.》
Passerby: 《If you ever perform here, I’ll definitely come to see you! Keep up the good work!》

Itaru: (I can’t believe he thanked me for playing Lancelot. If the me back then heard that he would’ve been crazy happy.)
Itaru: (I had a lot of worries during rehearsals, but I’m glad I got to be part of the KniRoun stageplay.)

Local Company Employee A: 《Now then, does anyone have any opinions on the event company’s plan for the ceremonial event at the theater complex that’s the heart and soul of this whole thing?》
Tumblr media
Itaru: 《...I have something.》
Itaru: 《The most important part of this project is how it’ll be unveiled to the residents of the area…》
Itaru: 《So, how about doing a stageplay based on an anime or game that’s known all around the world?》
Itaru: 《Among young people who love media consumption, there’s a pretty strong association of Japan as being a sort of capital of anime and video games.》
Itaru: 《For example, the game “Knights of Round” has become very widely known and has gained a lot of fans from abroad.》
Itaru: 《I believe that when a Japanese company undertook this project, they were hoping to build a bridge between Japan and this country through the arts.》
Itaru: 《It’s only logical that the ceremonial event celebrating that symbol should be associated with the culture of Japan.》
Tumblr media
Itaru: 《However, I don’t think simply introducing Japan is going to cut it for the people who truly want the world of the arts to thrive here.》
Itaru: 《I myself have performed as part of a stage play for KniRoun, and I just happened to be approached by someone on the street who recognized me for it. That made me realize just how widely acknowledged KniRoun is overseas.》
Local Company Employee B: 《That is a good point. This theater is meant for stage events, and there will be a lot of events aimed at young people there too.》
Local Company Employee B: 《It could be a really good idea to show them that it’s a theater for them.》
Itaru: 《If necessary, I can have a research firm determine how in-demand different types of content are.》
Local Company Employee A: 《Please do.》

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 21 - Even When Apart
Tumblr media
Troupe Member: If you’re going to stay here, do you mind locking up for me, Sakuma-kun?
Sakuya: No problem! Good work!
Troupe Member: Good work~.
*Door closes*
Sakuya: Phew… Guess I’ll run through the basics again…
*Door opens*
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Oh? You’re still hanging around here, Sakuma-kun?
Sakuya: Ah, I am. Good work today.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Is this sword fight really that difficult?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: No, no--I’m just not all that good at sword fighting, so I wanted to improve as much as possible…
Sakuya: Actually, I’m playing the role of a guy who works as a bodyguard in my next performance, so I thought it’d be good practice for that too.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Ahh, I see. You really do love MANKAI Company, don’t you?
Sakuya: MANKAI’s my family. It’s the one and only place where I belong.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: I think I get what you mean.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Theater troupes need a close kind of communication that’s different from any other kind of friend group.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Y’know, what--I’ll practice with you for a bit.
Sakuya: Are you sure?
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: If you improve, it’ll be a plus for our performance too, after all.
Sakuya: Thank you so much! I’ll do my best!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: By the way, did I ever mention why I asked you to play this guest role, Sakuma-kun?
Sakuya: Huh? Oh, no, I don’t think so--.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: As an actor, you’re not really the dexterous type.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: But you’ve got a straightforward and bright sole that I thought would be perfect for this role.
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: You’ve just got a sort of sunny aura about you. That’s why I really wanted you to play this role, Sakuma-kun.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Sunny…?
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: I guess that’s the sort of thing you wouldn’t be aware of yourself, huh?
Sakuya: I guess not…
Sakuya: But when I stand on stage with other troupes like this, I learn all kinds of things about different ways to do things, and I learn more about myself as an actor, too!
Other Troupe’s Supervisor: Well, I’m glad then. Even if it’s just a single thing, I’d love for you to get something out of this.
Sakuya: Yeah!

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 20 - Trial & Error
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Good morning.
Young Man: Good morning.
Tsuzuru: (I mean, this thing is aimed at younger scriptwriters, so I guess it makes sense that there’s a bunch of 20-somethings here.)
Tsuzuru: (Well, but none of them seem like they’re college students, so maybe I’m the youngest one here…)
Madoka: Ah--.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Huh!? You’re participating in this training camp too, Madoka?
Madoka: Kamikizaka-san introduced me to it. So you’re here too, Minagi-san.
Tsuzuru: It’s nice to see a familiar face. Glad to be working with you.
Madoka: Likewise.
???: Alright, let’s get things started.
???: Once again, I look forward to working with you all for the next two weeks starting today. Let’s start with self-introductions first.
Akazaki: I’ll get us started--I’m Akazaki, director and playwright. I also run a theater company called “Hako”.
Akazaki: I started doing this scriptwriting training camp ten years ago.
Akazaki: The core idea of this camp is that young scriptwriters can learn a lot by thinking about scripts from the point of view of a director.
Akazaki: This workshop is a place for young scriptwriters to interact with each other, so let’s all work together with a little friendly competition. I look forward to seeing your work.
Akazaki: Alright, your turn.
Tsuzuru: I’m Tsuzuru Minagi, actor and in-house scriptwriter at a theater company called MANKAI Company. I’m glad to be here!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Akazaki: To start, I want you to come up with sixty plot ideas with the theme of “theater”. Your time limit is one hour.
Tsuzuru: Si…!?
Madoka: Sixty…
Tumblr media
Akazaki: Each of your ideas should be conveyed in 100 characters or less. Alright, your time starts now.
Tsuzuru: --Gh.
Tsuzuru: (We’re being thrown off the deep end right off the bat. So the theme is “theater” huh… And I need to turn that into an entire plot--.)
Tsuzuru: (Nope, no time to dwell on it. I’ve got an hour to come up with sixty of these, so I’ve gotta crank out a plot a minute… Everyone else has already gotten going on it, so I’ve just gotta give it my best shot.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Akazaki: Alright, time’s up. That should’ve been a good brain exercise.
Akazaki: Okay, now, take the plot ideas you just wrote out and swap them with someone.
Tsuzuru: (Swap them…?)
Akazaki: Everyone have someone else’s ideas? Then go ahead and pick three of the ideas you think would be interesting to see.
Tsuzuru: (Someone else’s…!? Wait, no way, does that mean I don’t get to pick what I’m going to write about…?)
Akazaki: Once you’ve picked them, return the paper to its original owner.
Akazaki: Once you have your paper back, pick one idea from those three. You then have one hour to put a full plot together.
Madoka: Um, here’s yours, Minagi-san.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Ah, right. You’re the one who picked for me? Thanks, Madoka.
Tsuzuru: (T-These are the three he picked!? I never would’ve chosen those myself. But, I guess they are pretty Madoka-like choices.)
Tsuzuru: (Whatever, I’ve got an hour to pull together a plot. I guess I’ll go with this one since it seems like the easiest one to flesh out…)
Tsuzuru: (God, who even comes up with an idea like this…? Well, me with a time limit, apparently…)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Akazaki: Hmm, I see…
Akazaki: I can tell that you were trying to keep things in your comfort zone and there are places where it’s obvious that you were running out of time.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Ah… right.
Akazaki: But it’s important to have your comfort zone, and I can tell you that it was kind of unlucky that you had to be dragged out of it for this.
Akazaki: I know it’s natural to want to use your usual style or follow your same techniques, but if you make an effort to throw in new things every once in a while, you can throw a few more tools in your toolbox for you to use later on.
Akazaki: Sometimes you need to be confronted with a more forceful approach like this, that way you can learn to take hits like this more easily.
Tsuzuru: Yeah, I know that already…
Tsuzuru: (It’s important to be able to stand my ground, but that doesn’t mean I can be defensive all the time…)
Akazaki: By the way, why did you decide to come to this training camp, MInagi-kun?
Akazaki: With an in-house position, you’ve got a stable place to write, so is there really a need for you to venture into the outside world?
Tsuzuru: I may have a stable place to write, but I’m always wondering how I can grow more. For my own sake, and for my troupe’s sake.
Akazaki: I see. Well, I think having that kind of greed is a good thing.
Akazaki: This training camp is a workout for your brain, like a real athletic event, so try not to burn yourself out.
Tsuzuru: Right, an athletic event… I was already kinda getting that feeling.
Akazaki: So, that said, why don’t you try and fix this thing starting from the beginning?
Tsuzuru: --U-Understood.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsuzuru: Aghhh… I’m exhausted…
Tsuzuru: (My brain is fried… I never want to write a single hiragana, kanji, or any other character ever again…)
Madoka: Good work.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: You still seem pretty lively, Madoka.
Madoka: Do I…? Maybe it’s because I’m used to writing a lot quickly.
Madoka: In the past, my father used to make me do a lot of sudden script revisions, so…
Tsuzuru: That must’ve sucked…
Tsuzuru: But I see… I don’t have a whole lot of experience with having to make revisions like that.
Madoka: I don’t know whether I can say it was a good experience or not, but… I feel like it gave me some more strength for things like this.
Tsuzuru: You sure are resilient…
Madoka: Some of the other participants seemed to be pretty used to writing a lot. It’s probably because a lot of them have experience writing for a lot of different things.
Tsuzuru: That’s true. They did give off the vibe of pros who write scripts for a living.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: (I’m still just an inexperienced student. The only experience I’ve had writing outside of the company was with Otomiya-san…)
Tsuzuru: I’ll just take all of this as I sign that I still have room to grow.
Madoka: I still have a lot to learn to aim for the new Fleur Award, so… Let’s both do our best.
Tsuzuru: Yeah.
Tsuzuru: (Madoka’s also trying to grow as a scriptwriter for GOD-za. I need to get fired up like that again too.)
Madoka: Well then, good night. See you tomorrow.
Tsuzuru: G’night.
Tsuzuru: (The thing with the way I write scripts is that I just do the same thing I always have, but it’s still kinda refreshing to learn more about how other people write them.)
Tsuzuru: (I’ve really used up all my braincells, but it’s pretty interesting experiencing a new world like this.)
Tsuzuru: (Oh, right, I should check in on the group chat before I sleep…)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
tsuzuru has entered the chat.

Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: (…I feel like I could write up some material for Citrun with that.)
Tsuzuru: (Can’t believe I felt like I couldn’t even write another character a moment ago. I’ll just jot down some quick notes before I sleep.)

T/N:
(1) Citron’s name in the chat is “都呂々” (Tororo) which is just the name of a town in Japan. I think what he was probably going for was to have his name as “トロロ” (Tororo, just in katakana) as like, a play on his name? Because like, シトロン (ShiTOROn) so it’s like taking the “トロ” (Toro) part of his name and turning it into “Tororo” as a nickname. I decided to translate it as “TorORo” because like, “都呂々” has the pronunciation he was probably going for, it’s just not quite the right way to write it, so I figured the best way to convey that was through weird capitalization as opposed to it being misspelled.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 19 - First-Year Office Worker
Tumblr media
Company Employee A: Those intern kids are coming in today, right? Apparently, one of them is the son of the company’s president.
Company Employee B: What’s he like?
Company Employee C: I heard he’s an actor at a theater company.
Company Employee A: Well, if he’s interning, does that mean he’s looking for an actual job?
Company Employee B: Maybe he’s an unsuccessful actor.
Company Employee C: Yeah, well, he’s just a nepobaby, so we probably shouldn’t expect much from him.
*Knock on door and door opens*
Masumi: Good morning.
Company Employee A: --G-Good morning.
Tumblr media
Masumi: I’m Masumi Usui, I’ll be a new intern starting today.
Masumi: I may be a bit of an inconvenience at times, but I will appreciate any guidance and encouragement you may have for me. I look forward to working with you.
Company Employee B: L-Likewise.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Masumi: A suit? Too stiff, not wearing one.
Itaru: It’s better if you do this sorta thing right on your first day. You don’t wanna self-debuff by wearing the wrong armor to your first encounter.
Chikage: If you don’t have a suit, I can buy you one from the place I usually get mine.
Tumblr media
Masumi: I have one, but…
Izumi: A suit, huh~. They really do make a person look more mature in an instant.
Masumi: I’ll wear one every day. And I’ll have breakfast at the dorms before I go.
Tsuzuru: I thought we literally all just agreed that it’d be a quicker commute to the office if you stayed in the company dorms.
Izumi: There’s no point in you coming back to MANKAI’s dorms every single morning.
Chikage: You’ll have to get some dress shirts and ties too.
Itaru: I think I’ll leave this sorta thing to our veteran office worker.
Masumi: …Whatever.
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Company Employee D: That’s all for the explanation of both the industry and our company. From here, we’ll move on to group work--.
Company Employee D: To give you a basic understanding of what promotion is, we’ll have you experience everything from planning to presenting.
Company Employee D: Here we have created a fictitious company with a specific problem.
Company Employee D: Using this as a reference, each team will come up with a plan to solve the company’s problem and then propose said plan in a presentation.
Company Employee E: If there’s anything you don’t understand, feel free to ask questions.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Masumi: …And that’s why these data results suggest that this could be an effective way of solving the company’s issues.
Masumi: Finally, does anyone have any questions for me?
Masumi: If not, I would like to conclude here. I hope you’ll consider my proposal.
Tumblr media
Masumi: I thank you all very much for your time today.
Company Employee F: W-Whoa… he’s one hell of an actor… He’s so dignified. And really persuasive too.
Company Employee E: He cleans up nicely wearing that suit and he’s got a different kind of mindset than your typical “I’m-going-to-one-day-take-over-the-company” kind of guy.
Company Employee D: He’s the kind of guy I wish I had coming with me to my presentation this afternoon…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Masumi: I’m finished.
Company Employee E: Huh, already? Did you read through them all?
Masumi: I’ve also compiled everything into a rough report.
Company Employee E: …Well then, are you able to use this software? Next, you can put that in a document using that.
Company Employee E: You can take your lunch break once you’re done with that.
Masumi: Understood.
Masumi: …
*Typing*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Masumi: …Phew.
Masumi: (Now to confirm with… Oh, they’re in a meeting now. I’ll do it later. I should be allowed to take a break now that I’m done, right?)
Masumi: (I guess while I’m at it, I’ll put together a list of promotional methods that could be used for the troupe and ask whatever questions I can.)
Masumi: (It’s interesting to study promotion like this again. I get why Director and Sakyo do it.)
Tumblr media
Masumi: (I wonder if all the other theater companies are thinking of different ways to spread the word about the stuff they’re doing.)
Masumi: (It’s like I knew all of this existed, but I never really was aware of it. It’s the exact same world of theater, but I feel like I’m seeing it in an entirely new way.)
Masumi: (Ah, right…)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 18 - Leaving The Nest
Tumblr media
Muku: It’s going to be kind of lonely without Spring Troupe here.
Misumi: Here’s a triangle for good luck~.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: What a pretty seashell. Thank you!
Citron: I will forever forget you all~!
Tsuzuru: I sure hope you meant “never”.
Taichi: You’re all overreacting!
Yuki: Are we really having a whole farewell party when they’re not even going to be gone for that long?
Omi: Maybe it’s more like a send-off party?
Homare: Precisely. It’s a party to encourage Spring Troupe to embark on their new adventure. Now then, allow me to recite a poem of mine to celebrate their embarkation!
Izumi: The green curry’s done~.
Azami: The hell kinda menu’s got sushi and a curry set?
Citron: The sushi was my request~.
Izumi: And I wanted all of Spring Troupe to remember the taste of the MANKAI Dorms curry…!
Sakyo: It’s like a MANKAI Dorms speciality.
Manager: Looks like we’ve found what our next set of merch is going to be!
Sakyo: The hell we have. That’s way too elaborate for us to launch anytime soon.
Izumi: There can be no compromises!
Tasuku: But still, it’s a pretty bold move for the entirety of Spring Troupe to leave the dorms right before their performance.
Azuma: Maybe that’s exactly the reason they’re doing it.
Banri: Sometimes the only way you can have a breakthrough is if you go out ‘n take on a new challenge.
Tsumugi: Becoming assistant director was that challenge for you. It seems like you’re all headed in different directions, but we want to support you.
Omi: Because even seemingly useless detours can be necessary sometimes.
Sakuya: That reminds me, why don’t we also use that app Towa-kun mentioned?
Tumblr media
Itaru: BlooCha?
Sakuya: I mean, we have LIME too, but with this, you can know who’s online, and it looks like it keeps a log of when you leave and join the chat, so we can feel like we’re all in the same place a little more, y’know?
Chikage: I’m not opposed to it.
Itaru: The timing for this is perfect. BlooChat’s gotten pretty popular lately, so basically everyone’s using it.
Citron: I will download it right away!
Tsuzuru: Seems like you’ve gotta register first and then create an avatar.
Masumi: There’s no curry avatar…
Chikage: That makes sense.
Citron: My avatar is done!
Sakuya: Oh, is it a cat? Wait no, maybe a worm? Huh?
Tumblr media
Itaru: How’d you even end up with that?
Citron: I combined as many thing as possible!
Tsuzuru: That abomination talking the way Citron-san does is going to be what does in humanity.
Sakuya: Your name is “UC”, Chikage-san?
Chikage: I mean, it’s a pretty standard choice, isn’t it?
Citron: Too standard! I nearly mistook you for an error message!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: Sorry for leaving so early in the morning.
Izumi: Don’t worry about it. I saw everyone else off, so there’s no way I’d leave you out, Sakuya-kun.
Izumi: You haven’t forgotten anything, right? Got all your medicine and everything?
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Don’t worry, I’ve got it all.
Izumi: Haha, okay, okay. You can buy most of what you’d need wherever, and you can always come back for something if you need to.
Izumi: (I saw him off like this when we pseudo-disbanded, but this time it was all so sudden that it feels a little different.)
Izumi: (I guess with the situation being the way it was back then, we all made that disbandment decision together.)
Izumi: (Somehow, it really feels like he’s leaving this time…)
Izumi: It’ll be kind of lonely without you.
Sakuya: This isn’t goodbye. We’re just leaving the nest. For the future’s sake.
Izumi: Right.
Izumi: (Sakuya-kun really has grown up to be pretty reliable.)
Izumi: (He’s able to think and act in such a level-headed way, both for his own future, and the troupe’s.)
Izumi: Take care. Stay safe, okay?
Sakuya: I’m off!

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 17 - Family Meeting
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Chikage-san didn’t run away today.
Itaru: He was rushing to get his futon ready before I was.
Chikage: That’s because you kept just mindlessly playing your game.
Masumi: It’s annoying having to drag all our futons in here every time we do this.
Citron: I will put down my sheeping rag now!
Tsuzuru: Please just say sleeping bag.
Tumblr media
Itaru: Well, sleeping here can only mean one thing.
Sakuya: Yeah. I wanted to get to try and get to know the stage a little better again.
Tsuzuru: …I’ve been trying to be careful and not get too worked up about it, but I can’t help but keep thinking about the Fleur Award.
Itaru: I always thought that if we all just did theater the way we always do, we’d one day be recognized and win the Fleur Award, but…
Itaru: Then the rankings came along and reminded me that things aren’t that easy IRL.
Chikage: The Fleur Award system has changed, so that’s understandable, but even if they hadn’t changed, we probably would’ve run into the same wall.
Masumi: If we want to stop worrying about rushing things, doesn’t that mean we should just stop thinking about the Fleur Award?
Tsuzuru: God, I wish…
Sakuya: Yuzo-san said that this isn’t the end of the Fleur Award, so there’s no need to rush things, but if we miss out on this one, it’ll be another two years until the next one happens…
Citron: In two years… I wonder what we will all be doing then~?
Tsuzuru: Hmm… I’d have graduated from college by then…
Masumi: I’d be on my fourth year.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Aside from you two, the rest of us are already done with school, so there might not be that much that’s different for us.
Chikage: Conversely, could any of you have imagined being here two or three years ago?
Itaru: Hell no. I would’ve been like, “Theater, what’s that?”.
Masumi: I never thought I’d end up doing theater.
Citron: I had never imagined doing it either, because I was planning to travel all over the world~.
Tsuzuru: If someone told me I’d get to be writing scripts as an in-house writer like this, I would’ve called them delusional.
Sakuya: And I would’ve been really surprised if someone told me I’d be making a living as an actor with the people I love!
Tsuzuru: Putting it like that, it’s like we’re all living in a future we only could’ve dreamed of back then.
Sakuya: Yeah. Being able to gather a group of trusted friends and continue to perform with them in a stable theater company…
Itaru: But there’s no guarantee that we’ll still be doing this two years from now.
Chikage: Maybe that’s just because our current selves are changing in ways we can’t even imagine.
Citron: If that is the case, I absolutely want to change for the better~.
Sakuya: Two years from now, I want to be standing in the future we’re dreaming of now.
Masumi: If we keep that in mind, what should we do for the upcoming Spring Troupe performance…
Tsuzuru: Obviously, we want to have fun with it ourselves, but our desire to entertain the audience has gotta be unwavering, too.
Itaru: On top of that, we wanna improve our rank and snag ourselves a spot among the nominees.
Chikage: That’s the goal of the entire company.
Sakuya: Aside from that, I knew I wanted more people to be aware of how much fun theater can be after doing the workshop.
Sakuya: And of course, that goes for MANKAI too.
Chikage: That’s why it’s important to boost our popularity and broaden our reach. It’d be even better if we could earn some more streaming votes too.
Itaru: To some extent, if we wanna take on the role of top batter, it’ll be our job to get those results and make a breakthrough.
Masumi: But it’s because we’re too busy feeling like that that we’re sitting here accomplishing nothing.
Tsuzuru: Can’t deny that.
Sakuya: …
Masumi: …We’re right back where we started.
Citron: We are merry-ing the go-round~.
Tsuzuru: I wish we were doing whatever that is, but unfortunately, we’re just going in circles.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: I’ve… actually been thinking about that.
Sakuya: The other day, I got a request to play a role that’s bigger than the ones I usually do.
Sakuya: But it’s a regional performance, so I’d have to leave the dorms for a while…
Sakuya: I was gonna turn it down because it’s such an important time with focusing on the Fleur Award and all, and I was worried about my ability to handle both things.
Sakuya: --Until now, that is.
Sakuya: After talking to Towa-kun and Tenma-kun, I remembered how I was back during our debut.
Sakuya: Back then, I had just opened the door to the new world of theater, and there was a lot that I didn’t understand.
Sakuya: I was surprised by everything I saw, everything I felt. I was frantic and all over the place.
Sakuya: But I think I had more courage and bravery to try new things back then than I do now.
Sakuya: I’ve come to understand lots of things. Like how to tell what’s necessary and what isn’t for theater, what’s important to me and what isn’t…
Sakuya: But I think because I’m being made to make choices, I feel like I’m not able to open new doors that I would’ve challenged myself to open back then.
Tsuzuru: I get what you mean, being completely absorbed in seizing the chances you’re given, never thinking about the consequences of your actions… I guess I used to kinda be like that.
Tsuzuru: Not like there were that many chances to begin with.
Citron: It is because you have nothing that you feel like you can do anything, correct?
Chikage: Like a first performance, huh…
Itaru: For us, it’s our debut performance, but for you, it’s Oz, right, Senpai?
Chikage: Exactly. Being able to have something to devote myself to other than work certainly felt like having a new door opened for me.
Sakuya: The place where I belong will forever be MANKAI Company. And I’ll always have my Spring Troupe family to support me no matter what.
Sakuya: It’s because I have a place to belong like this that I’m able to set out on my own and step out into new worlds, and I think that makes taking the leap worth it.
Sakuya: I feel like there are parts of me that always end up being spoiled when I’m with you guys, so I want to set out from the troupe for a bit and try to do my best in a whole new place on my own.
Sakuya: And I want to grow as an actor as much as possible and bring something back home with me.
Sakuya: I don’t want to lose to my past self when it comes to that reckless urge to take on new challenges.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: …Do you guys think I’m aiming for the wrong thing?
Tsuzuru: --Nah, I think you’re doing great.
Tsuzuru: I think I’m gonna try and participate in that scriptwriting training camp that I was gonna give up on for the sake of the performance…
Tsuzuru: Maybe I’ll even get some kinda hint on what I’ve been struggling with on the script. And it’s not good to forget about the desire to try new things, y’know?
Masumi: …Then I’m going to try and do that internship. I want to learn more about promotion so I can be useful to the Director.
Citron: Then… I shall participate in the arts festival I have been on the fence about.
Citron: If you are hesitating about something, that means there is a part of you that wants to do it. It is important to be honest with yourself about your feelings!
Chikage: Your own feelings, huh…
Itaru: …What are you going to do, Senpai?
Chikage: Shouldn’t I be asking you that? Weren’t you approached about something important at work?
Itaru: Compared to the rest of you guys, mine’s like the furthest away from actual theater.
Sakuya: Still, if it’s something you care about and are excited about, I think you should do it, Itaru-san.
Masumi: You initially joined the troupe for something entirely unrelated.
Tsuzuru: That something being two free meals made it easier for you to spend money on games.
Tumblr media
Itaru: I mean, you’re right, but damn…
Itaru: Actually, y’know what, I don’t like being called out like that, so I’m gonna outperform all of you out of spite.
Itaru: You should follow your heart too, Senpai.
Chikage: …Well, I suppose I’ll try and see if I can come up with a challenge of my own to take on.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Citron: And that is why we are running away from home!
Tsuzuru: Yeah, no, that’s not what this is.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: We thought that each of us could leave the dorms and try to take on each of our challenges on our own.
Izumi: I see… It’s a little surprising to hear, but I appreciate that you made the decision after talking it over with everyone.
Izumi: Let’s do rehearsals remotely while you’re away and then really focus in on them when you all get back.
Banri: Aight, we better rearrange the rehearsal schedules with that in mind.
Izumi: We can work that out later.
Izumi: Since you guys already have your roles down way more than you usually would, rehearsals have been progressing ahead of schedule, so we should be able to bounce back from this no problem.
Sakuya: Thank you so much.
Tsuzuru: We’ll do our best.
Izumi: (Each of them taking on a new challenge, huh… Yeah, I think it’ll be a great way for them to remember how they felt during their debut performance.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Chikage: …
Hisoka: …Shouldn’t you be packing? You’re running away from home with the rest of Spring Troupe, aren’t you?
Chikage: We’re not running away from home.
Chikage: I’m basically done packing already. Well, I still don’t know whether I’m even going or not.
Tumblr media
Hisoka: You don’t want to go?
Chikage: …There’s something I’d prefer to keep my distance from.
Chikage: No, I don’t even know what it is… I’ve been away from it for so long that I don’t even know what to feel anymore.
Hisoka: …Then shouldn’t you go and figure that out?
Hisoka: Sometimes there’s things that you can’t understand or remember unless you go and look them in the eyes directly.
Hisoka: Maybe the things you’ve always been unsure about or afraid of won’t be scary anymore. You won’t know for sure unless you face them head-on.
Chikage: …I suppose.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 16 - My Allies
Tumblr media
Izumi: That should be it for the shopping.
Tsumugi: Ah, right. I ran out of fertilizer…
Izumi: Should we make a stop at the flower shop?
Tsumugi: No, it’s a bit heavy, so I’ll ask someone else to help me next time I’m out and I’ll get it then.
Izumi: Got it. Oh, and speaking of flower shops, there’s that boy who’s a fan of ours that lives in a flower shop that I pass by a lo--.
Towa: …
Izumi: Huh? Towa-kun?
Tumblr media
Towa: Ah…
Izumi: Are you okay? Are you feeling sick?
*Stomach growls*
Towa: I wanna… eat some rice…
*Thud*
Izumi: Huh?
Tsumugi: …He collapsed in the middle of the street?
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Towa: Let’s eat!
Tsumugi: You must’ve been starving.
Izumi: But I thought you were living at your aunt’s flower shop? It’s pretty close, so why…?
Towa: Actually… I ran away from home.
Sakuya: Ran away!?
Sakyo: Reminds me of a certain someone.
Azami: There’s a lotta people who run away from home in this dorm.
Kumon: Ahaha, true~.
Tenma: You were one of them, though.
Izumi: Did you run away because there’s something troubling you?
Towa: …
Masumi: If you’re not going to say anything, leave.
Sakuya: Hey, c’mon, he probably has his reasons.
Towa: …Sorry for causing you guys so much trouble.
Tumblr media
Towa: …I’ve always admired you all. I’ve always wanted to be someone who could be passionate about something.
Towa: All my studies, my lessons, my hobbies, I’ve always done them half-heartedly. I’ve always tried to not work as hard as I could.
Sakuya: …Why is that?
Towa: …I didn’t want to disappoint myself.
Towa: I guess I didn’t want to try too hard, fail, and then be disappointed in myself.
Towa: If I did, I’d be embarrassed, and scared, and feel like I should just curl up and die then and there.
Towa: But then I happened to see a play by MANKAI Company’s Spring Troupe, and fell in love with how much everyone was sparkling.
Towa: I was desperate to do something like that, to actually accomplish something. I wanted to try and shine like that, too.
Towa: But I didn’t know what to do…
Towa: I wanted to be closer to Veludo Way, where you all were, so I sent in an application to Hanasaki and transferred there last minute.
Izumi: That’s the reason why…!?
Banri: Pretty damn impressive that you managed to pass the entrance exam. The standard score you need to get in there is pretty high.
Tumblr media
Towa: I studied harder than I ever had in my entire life!
Sakuya: You sure were motivated, huh?
Masumi: You’re insane.
Towa: It was because I wanted to be closer to all of you guys, but I had another reason too…
Towa: Everyone in my family really spoils me. They’re always ready to drop everything to give me anything I’m interested in or anything I need.
Towa: They’ll almost always listen to my selfishness and it made all my friends really jealous when I told them, so I wondered if it was really okay for me to keep living like that…
Towa: They didn’t even object when I transferred schools.
Towa: They said I should go wherever I wanted to go. And not only that, but they helped me with cram school and got me a tutor too.
Towa: They also asked my aunt if I could live with her.
Towa: My family is really kind, and I love them so much, but I hate how spoiled I become when I’m with them. That’s why I decided to leave.
Yuki: You’ve got guts.
Tsumugi: It’s really nice of your family to support the path you chose, Towa-kun.
Towa: But… Apparently, they thought it wouldn’t be long before I came back home.
Towa: “It’s not like there’s anything he really wants to do”, “He won’t be able to do it alone, away from his family”...
Towa: When I overheard my aunt and my mom say stuff like that while they were talking on the phone, I got so mad that I just stormed out.
Tumblr media
Towa: …But they were right. All I have is the things I admire. I don’t have a clue about what I actually want to do with myself.
Towa: I really can’t do anything on my own…
Sakuya: I don’t think that’s true.
Citron: You have already made it this far!
Chikage: You’ve even managed to make your way into the dorms of the theater company you admire.
Towa: Ah…
Itaru: You tried your hardest, got accepted into Hanasaki, and made it all the way to the Holy Land, isn’t that enough proof right there?
Sakuya: I think it’s amazing that you’re venturing out into a whole new world entirely on your own.
Itaru: You don’t need to rush things. Everyone figures out what they want to do with themselves eventually.
Tsumugi: I think you probably understand feeling like that the most, right, Banri-kun?
Banri: This sorta thing’s all about timing, and, well, I guess fate’s sorta a part of it too. There ain’t any point in rushin’ things.
Juza: For you, it was more like when people try ‘n stage car crashes for insurance money, though.
Banri: The hell you just say?
Izumi: You’re able to do lots of things.
Izumi: If we hadn’t met you, we never would’ve thought of doing that workshop, Towa-kun.
Towa: …Thank you so much. I’m still really sorry about all the trouble I’ve caused you.
Izumi: You’re aunt’s probably worried sick, so someone should get in touch with her. Are you able to do that on your own?
Towa: Yeah.
Towa: --Ah, so many notifs in the chat.
shiki: Please contact us.
kar: Don’t die
Iv: wanna come over to my place?
shiki: Just calm down and don’t do anything rash!
Izumi: Chat?
Towa: They’re friends I met through a game called “Bloom Game”.
Towa: We’re always talking about all kinds of different things on BlooCh-- the in-game chat.
Tumblr media
Towa: We’ve never met before, and we don’t even know what any of the others look like, but that’s why we can talk and feel like we’re always so connected.
Towa: It’s just another one of the places I belong.
Izumi: I see. Make sure you get in touch with them too, then.
Towa: I will.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: Do you need someone to take you home?
Towa: I’m good. It’s not that far away and my aunt said she’d meet me halfway.
Sakuya: Got it. Well then, get home safely, okay?
Citron: And you are always welcome to come here if you ever run away from home again!
Masumi: Please don’t.
Tsuzuru: Not sure when we became a place that welcomes runaways, but, I guess it’s not so bad being a place like that.
Izumi: Bye.
Towa: Thank you for the meal! And good luck with your next performance! I can’t wait to see it!
*Footsteps*
Tsuzuru: Our next performance, huh…
Itaru: We’ve still gotta face our own problems too.
Tumblr media
Chikage: …Right.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Phone notification*
Sakuya: Ah… I really need to reply…
Sakuya: Haaah… Something that’s like us, huh.
Tenma: Does the upcoming Romeo have lines like that?
Sakuya: Huh? Ah, no.
Tenma: Heard your rehearsals didn’t go too well.
Sakuya: …Yuzo-san watched us rehearse today.
Sakuya: He told us to think about what makes a play a Spring Troupe play again, and to think about what our debut performance was like too.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: We’ve definitely improved and gained a lot more experience, but what are we lacking more than back then…
Sakuya: There’s no way our feelings aren’t stronger than they were back then.
Tenma: Something you’re lacking, huh? There were lots of things you were lacking during your RomiJuli performance.
Tenma: Your acting was rough at best, and it was overall a pretty shaky start. But even so… I still wonder about what exactly it was that made you guys sparkle like that.
Tenma: You all just seemed to be enjoying the new world of theater with everything you had in you.
Sakuya: New world…
Tenma: You made me want to go with you-- To take that step into the world of the stage.
Sakuya: I was so happy to hear you praise RomiJuli after you joined the troupe, Tenma-kun.
Tenma: Now that I think about it, you must’ve had problems back during rehearsals for your debut performance, right?
Tenma: I mean, I did ask you how you solved problems during your performance while we were rehearsing for Summer Troupe’s debut performance.
Sakuya: I guess you’re right…
Sakuya: While we were rehearsing for our debut, Yuzo-san told us that we didn’t understand a thing about the stage and--...
Tumblr media
Sakuya: That’s it! Thanks, Tenma-kun! I’m gonna go and get a little more acquainted with the stage again!
Tenma: --No problem.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 15 - Ketchuped To Hell
Tumblr media
Company Employee A: I’m so sorry to bother you.
Company Employee A: We’ve been able to handle English-speaking and Asian countries just fine, but this region is a little more difficult for us and there aren’t many people in the company who would be able to help…
Company Employee A: I’ve been considering outsourcing, but I haven’t gotten approval yet. Please, can you at least make sure there aren’t any parts that could be misunderstood in the machine translation?
Chikage: That I can do easily.
Chikage: …
*Typing*
Chikage: (So this is the final document.)
Tumblr media
Chikage: --.
Chikage: (...Same last name and everything. I still hate myself for reacting to it out of reflex.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsumugi: It’s been quite a while since the voting period for the final selection started, and yet the notices of debut performances aren’t showing any signs of stopping.
Kazunari: And there are still just as many new troupe and troupe member recruitment notices too~.
Kumon: That reminds me, there was a kid in one of my classes that said they were thinking about starting to do theater.
Tsumugi: It seems like the more people are exposed to the opportunity, the more people become interested in it.
Tenma: And because of the SNS Votes, more and more theater companies are shifting their focus to streaming.
Omi: While working on a photoshoot the other day, I met someone who works in the film industry and they said they’ve suddenly been really busy lately.
Yuki: A lot of people’s impressions from overseas are starting to pop up online.
Tasuku: The new Fleur Award really is helping to bring life to the world of theater, just like they said at the first press conference.
Azuma: It’s especially amazing considering things have only just begun.
Sakyo: Yukio-san is the type of guy to be in the eye of the storm when it comes to theater.
Guy: With the increased attention on it, he and Kamikizaka must be very busy doing various interviews.
Sakyo: Well, I’m sure Reni-san’s handling it just fine.
Yuki: The number of reviews on the theater forums has gone through the roof, but a good chunk of them are pretty scathing.
Yuki: Even performances done by famous theater companies and playwrights are getting stuff like, “I couldn’t understand the dialogue because they talked too fast, but the costumes were cute, I guess.”
Yuki: And “It suddenly turned into a contemporary dance thing and I had no clue what it was supposed to mean, but overall it was interesting.”
Azami: Honest but harsh, I guess.
Sakyo: They probably didn’t understand the stylistic beauty of that troupe, so it’s likely just them being candid on their first time seeing them perform.
Tsuzuru: They’re interesting to read, but I fear the day they come after us.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: I wonder what they’re gonna say about us…
Izumi: Let’s not overthink things and start catastrophizing. We’ll be fine as long as we be ourselves.
Itaru: Right. If we worry about it too much and disappoint our existing fans, we’ll become the harbingers of our own doom.
Yuki: Well, it’s probably best that we all limit ourselves when it comes to reading reviews.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Door opens*
Yuzo: Mornin’.
Tsuzuru: Good morning.
Sakuya: Good morning! We’ll do our best today!
Izumi: Sorry to do this when you’re busy preparing things for your own troupe, Yuzo-san.
Yuzo: It ain’t a problem.
Itaru: Have you figured your attack plan for the Fleur Award on your end, Yuzo-san?
Yuzo: We’re just gonna do what we always do. That said, we got our asses kicked durin’ the pre-votin’.
Izumi: MANKAI Company placed 70th.
Yuzo: We were 103rd.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Furinkazan was!?
Tsuzuru: Even though you’re so popular your tickets sell out every show and you have a pretty solid fan base…
Yuzo: That’s ‘cause most of our fans are older.
Yuzo: So most of ‘em didn’t even know the pre-votin’ existed or if they did know, they didn’t know how to do it.
Yuzo: It’s gonna be a tough battle, but we’ve gotta fight in it in our own way.
Yuzo: Well, this ain’t the end of things, so we’re gonna take it at our own pace and not try to rush it.
Yuzo: But that’s just Yukio-san throwin’ us curveballs in the same way he always does. The things that guy comes up with never fails to amaze me.
Izumi: Haha… that’s him, alright.
Yuzo: Well then, if you’re all ready, then let’s get things started.
Sakuya: Okay! We’ll do our best!
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Yuzo: …
Izumi: What do you think…?
Izumi: (I haven’t felt this kind of nervousness in a long while…)
Yuzo: Haaah… You’re as stiff as ever.
Yuzo: Given it’s a sequel to your debut performance, there ain’t any problems with the way you’re interpretin’ the roles, but overall, you’re fightin’ spirit just ain’t there.
Yuzo: Tsuzuru, you’re still havin’ your doubts about the script, and that’s why you’re not fully focused on the play, ain’t it?
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: …Yes.
Yuzo: And the rest of ya are too focused on wantin’ to put on a good performance to get the results ya need for the rankings.
Yuzo: ‘Course, puttin’ on a good performance does matter, but you guys should damn well know that by now.
Yuzo: Above all, you should think about what ya wanna convey and accomplish with this performance again.
Yuzo: Do ya wanna earn your spot in the rankings or do you wanna show off your growth…
Sakuya: --.
Yuzo: ‘Course, there’s nothin’ wrong with wantin’ recognition. But if that’s all you’re doin’ it for, then you’re just earnin’ points.
Yuzo: You’ll end up bein’ consumed by thoughts like, “If we do this, we’ll be more popular and get more points” or “If we do that, we can get some extra points”-- But what we’re doin’ is theater. It ain’t a competition.
Yuzo: What is a Spring Troupe play to you guys? What are you doin’ this for? Who’re you doin’ this for?
Yuzo: You’re doin’ a sequel of your debut play. What did that play mean to all of you back then?
Yuzo: If you’re gonna do a sequel to your debut performance, maybe it’s best ya go back to those origins and give ‘em a look over again.
Yuzo: …But do it with some caution, yeah?
Izumi: (I wonder if Yuzo-san is also pretty worried about the new Fleur Award.)
Izumi: (No, I’m sure companies other than Yuzo-san’s are worried too… We’re not alone in this.)
Izumi: (What place does our troupe have in the rapidly changing world of theater…)
Izumi: (Maybe we need to rethink the path we’re going to take.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Citron: It has been a long time since we have been ketchuped to hell like that~.
Masumi: Criticized to hell?
Itaru: His kindness stat has been upped since back then, though.
Chikage: Isn’t that because of how much he approves of us?
Masumi: But that just makes fixing the parts he doesn’t approve of that much harder.
Sakuya: There… really is no easy answer, huh? Our Spring Troupe’s acting… our origin…
Tsuzuru: Who would’ve thought it’d be so hard just to be ourselves?
Chikage: Because sometimes you’re not the one to understand yourself the best.
Izumi: We decided to do this sequel in order to go back to our roots and remember where we started…
Izumi: So, what do you all think was the best part about Spring Troupe back during the first RomiJuli?
Sakuya: To be entirely honest with myself, my acting skills were horrible. All I had back then was my desire to act.
Tsuzuru: But you’ve still got that desire even now.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Yeah! If anything, I love and cherish theater even more than I did back then.
Masumi: So I wonder what we’re “lacking” now.
Itaru: I mean, I’m pretty sure I’m way more absorbed into theater than I was back then, at least.
Chikage: Our bonds as Spring Troupe have deepened and we’ve all improved too.
Citron: I do not feel like we are lacking anything~…
Masumi: But I get what Yuzo was saying.
Tsuzuru: Same here… He was right about me not being able to shake my hesitation about the script, too.
Chikage: Differences from our debut performance, huh…? For better or worse, this is no longer our “first time” on stage.
Itaru: You mean like our freshness is gone, or something? Well, there is a certain something about an author’s debut work, I guess.
Sakuya: You can only have one “first time”, so it’s not something you can do again, huh…
Tsuzuru: So, does that mean that, in a way, we’ll never be able to surpass our debut performance…?
Itaru: Sad, but true.
Masumi: Something that can’t be surpassed despite our improvement, huh…
Itaru: The impact of a first time and a blissfully unaware, reckless drive do have a certain power to them.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Hmm…
Izumi: …
Izumi: (Everyone seems gloomy now.)
Izumi: Let’s let this problem sit for a bit and each think about it more individually. We’ll have another meeting about it some other day.
Tsuzuru: Gotcha.
Itaru: …Yeah.
*Phone buzzes*
Sakuya: Ah--.
Izumi: The meeting’s over, so you’re okay to go and take that.
Sakuya: Sorry, excuse me, then.
*Footsteps*
Sakuya: --Hello, Sakuma speaking. I appreciate your call.
Sakuya: Um, I’m so sorry. About that…
*Door closes*

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 14 - New RomiJuli
Tumblr media
Masumi: (My next lecture was moved to Building A…)
Masumi: ?
Masumi: (Recruitment for summer internships, huh… Usually third years are the ones doing this kind of thing, though.)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Misaki: “Now’s not the time to be so leisurely. Students who are seriously considering things have their eyes set on getting an internship from the moment they enroll.”
*Flashback end*

Tumblr media
Masumi: …
Masumi: (Dad’s company’s name is on the list of companies that have done well in the past…)
Masumi: (Now that I think about it, they do have a promotion department. Maybe I can learn something useful for Director there.)
Masumi: (I could probably ask Dad to get me in, but…)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
*Flashback*
Izumi: “I appreciate the sentiment, but that requires a certain amount of knowledge to do, and right now you need to focus on yourself and Spring Troupe’s performance rather than on me, Masumi-kun.”
*Flashback end*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Masumi: …
Mizuno: Now then, if you’ll excuse me.
Mizuno: Huh?
Masumi: Ah…
Tumblr media
Mizuno: Hello. I didn’t know you were a Fuyou University student.
Masumi: Why are you at the Career Center?
Mizuno: Our company will be accepting interns this year. I came to do a briefing session regarding that.
Masumi: You’re the one doing that kind of thing?
Mizuno: I want to gain as much experience as I can while I’m still young, so I like to go around to all different kinds of departments.
Mizuno: It’d be rather troublesome if I didn’t know anything about the company when I eventually take over.
Masumi: …Do you really have to do that right now? Doesn’t it take up your free time as a college student?
Mizuno: It’s not necessarily a matter of having to do it. For me, it’s in part because I was interested in doing it to begin with.
Mizuno: But I’m glad I’m doing this because it lets me help the people I care about.
Masumi: …I see.
Mizuno: Seems like it’s a bit of a rough time for theater companies, with the details of the new Fleur Award having been announced.
Mizuno: If there’s anything I can do to help, please do let me know.
Masumi: Okay… Ah, the script’s been going well for Tsuzuru. He’s even more fired up than usual and he’s not overworking himself either.
Mizuno: Huh?
Masumi: It’s payment for answering my questions.
Tumblr media
Mizuno: Thank you very much. I’m looking forward to your next performance.
Masumi: (Tsuzuru’s making good progress, so I’m sure it’s almost time to…)
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsuzuru: …What do you think?
Izumi: It’s really interesting! It definitely feels like a new RomiJuli!
Izumi: I had my ideas of what a RomiJuli sequel might be, but I never even considered something like this.
Izumi: What I like the most is that Sakuya-kun, Masumi-kun, and Chikage-san all have--.
Sakuya: We all have two roles!?
Sakuya: I’ve never had two roles as the lead before, but it seems like it’ll be a really fun challenge!
Tumblr media
Masumi: It’s definitely something we couldn’t have done back during our first performance.
Izumi: For sure. It really feels like something we could only do now that we’ve made it this far.
Itaru: So there’s more characters this time because it’s set both in the past and the present in Verona?
Chikage: I never thought I’d be playing a role that connects the past to the present. I’ve got quite the responsibility.
Sakuya: It’s kinda fitting of you, in a way, Chikage-san!
Izumi: That’s definitely true.
Citron: I am happy that I have many more lines~!
Itaru: The two who ran away coming back all grown up is a simple approach, but definitely heartwarming.
Tsuzuru: This was my first time doing a sequel, so I wasn’t entirely sure what direction to take, but I wanted it to be something that deals with the root of the main conflict.
Tsuzuru: I thought that a happy ending after the two return home from their trip would be the most Spring Troupe-like conclusion for it.
Izumi: Yeah, I think it’s a very Spring Troupe-like RomiJuli sequel. Let’s get some copies together right aw--.
Tsuzuru: Ah, wait… I’d like to watch the rehearsals a bit more to get a better feel for things, so can we hold off on that?
Izumi: Alright, we’ll go ahead without printing the script in full. No matter how long it takes, let’s make this into something Tsuzuru-kun’s satisfied with.
Masumi: Fine. It’ll let Sakuya and Tsuzuru be more flexible with things considering how they’re “like that” now.
Tsuzuru: You don’t have to emphasize “like that” so much.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Ahaha, that is true.
Tsuzuru: Well, whatever, I’ll take it as a compliment.
Izumi: (I think we’re finally starting to see our usual Spring Troupe again.)
Izumi: (They were so nervous about the Fleur Award rankings, so it’s good to see them like this again.)
Izumi: (Let’s just hope all our preparations continue smoothly all the way up until the performance…)

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 13 - Take It Easier
Tumblr media
Citron: Is this not a private theater?
Izumi: There aren’t a whole lot of theater companies that have their own theaters.
Izumi: And there’s even fewer companies that have their own theaters at the time of their debut.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: When I do guest performances at other theater companies, they’re always jealous when I tell them we’ve got our own theater.
Izumi: I mean, it isn’t easy to prepare a rehearsal space for every single rehearsal.
Izumi: I’m guessing the competition for rehearsal spaces and theaters is going to be even fiercer now with the number of new theater companies created because of the Fleur Award…
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: Ah, it’s almost time for it to start, right?
???: …Ahem, thank you so much for coming to the debut performance of “Indulgence In Working Overtime Gang”.
Mameda: I’m the supervisor, Mameda. And I’d like to say a few words before the show begins.
Mameda: First of all, I’m sure many of you thought the name of our troupe was a bit strange…
Mameda: Our troupe was created by myself and the other members. We used to do theater when we were in school, but we eventually started working as office workers.
Mameda: We watched the New Fleur Award Board of Directors press conference during a drinking party after working overtime. It was in the heat of the moment after watching it that we were able to create this troupe.
Mameda: Our motto is “Let’s take it easy and enjoy theater,” so some of us are more experienced and some of us are just beginners.
Mameda: We’re a mish-mash of people who came together simply because we want to do theater.
Mameda: For those of you who are frequent theater-goers, there might be some pretty cringe-worthy parts of our performance.
Mameda: We hope you’ll enjoy this performance as something you could watch while having a few drinks.
Mameda: Now then, please sit tight until the show starts.
Tumblr media
Sakuya: …A mish-mash of people, huh? Kinda reminds me of MANKAI.
Izumi: Right? We had a mix of veterans and beginners at first, too.
Citron: I feel a sense of anonymity with them!
Izumi: I think you mean affinity.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Sakuya: Maybe it was just because of the greeting from the supervisor, but there was a really warm atmosphere throughout the theater.
Izumi: There really was. I could tell some of them were beginners, but they all seemed like they were having a great time.
Citron: And the story depicting a realistic toxic work environment so comically was very interesting!
Tumblr media
Sakuya: They really made the most of the company’s motif and strengths, given that there’s so many office workers in the troupe!
Izumi: It was really easy to watch and there was a lot to study from it. If they ever do any streams, let’s invite the other guys to watch.
Sakuya: Yeah!
Announcer: “And next, we bring you on-site news from the International Arts Festival.”
Citron: --.
News Anchor: “The whole city it excited to be hosting the International Arts Festival again this year.”
News Anchor: “Every year, notable figures representing the theater and film worlds of various countries, as well as celebrities from other countries, are invited to this event, which garners lots of attention.”
Izumi: The International Arts Festival, huh? Is the Kingdom of Zahra also participating?
Citron: This is the first time we have received an invitation, but we are still considering whether we will participate or not. This is an important time for the troupe, so I want to focus on that.
Tumblr media
Citron: I am perhaps not a very good Minister of Arts and Culture.
Sakuya: When we performed in the Kingdom of Zahra, the people there were really happy thanks to you, Citron-san.
Sakuya: Because you’ve come to love our country…
Sakuya: And because you introduced it in such a friendly manner, everyone accepted us in the end.
Izumi: In a way, it’s like you’re building bridges to other countries through theater, Citron-kun.
Citron: I thank the both of you.

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 12 - What I Can Do Now
Tumblr media
*Phone rings*
Masumi: …
Misaki: “Hello?”
Masumi: What do you want?
Misaki: “Is now a good time?”
Tumblr media
Masumi: Yeah.
Misaki: “Since last week, we’ve had a local student intern at our overseas branch.”
Misaki: “They’re in high school now, but they’re very promising, so I believe they’ll be asked to join full-time once they’ve graduated from high school or college.”
Masumi: …And?
Misaki: “Even though you’re only in your second year of college, you’ll be in your third and then fourth year before you know it, Masumi.”
Misaki: “I was just wondering whether you’ll get a job in the future, or if you’re going to continue with acting.”
Tumblr media
Masumi: …It’s too early for me to say.
Misaki: “Now’s not the time to be so leisurely. Students who are seriously considering things have their eyes set on getting an internship from the moment they enroll.”
Masumi: …I’m focused on theater right now, so I’m not thinking about that. I’ll think about it when the time comes.
Misaki: “If you need anything at all, talk to me right away.”
Masumi: Got it. …Bye.
*Beep*
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: …Haah.
Izumi: …Hmm… No, that’s not… Ah! This might work!
Masumi: ?
Izumi: Agh, of course, that didn’t work… Well then, if I just… Nope, not that either…
Masumi: She’s so cute when she makes all those faces…
Izumi: Hmm…
Masumi: What are you doing?
Izumi: Hm? I’m just revising our ticketing and promotion methods.
Izumi: I want to do whatever I can to prepare for the new Fleur Award, even if it’s through things not related to the contents of the performance.
Izumi: I’ve been able to do lots of things related to directing thanks to Banri-kun, so I have to do my best in return!
Tumblr media
Masumi: I could be an assistant director too, you know.
Izumi: If you’re really interested in directing, then of course, I’ll let you help when the time comes, Masumi-kun, but…
Izumi: That’s not the reason you’d be doing it, is it?
Masumi: …Then, I’ll help with promotions.
Izumi: I appreciate the sentiment, but that requires a certain amount of knowledge to do, and right now you need to focus on yourself and Spring Troupe’s performance rather than on me, Masumi-kun.
Masumi: …Fine. But don’t overwork yourself. Take a break after an hour.
Masumi: If I see you still working, I’m automatically defaulting to making you take a break myself.
Izumi: Automatically!?
Izumi: Ah, is this how you get Tsuzuru-kun to take breaks? Thank you. I’ll be careful.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Izumi: (I’ve got an outline for a promotion plan together, but I still need to work on it some more…)
Misumi: All of ‘em look so interesting~!
Yuki: The saturation’s definitely been upped on all of them.
Tumblr media
Kazunari: I know, right~? I mean, people are putting up flyers everywhere lately, so they’re probs all designed like that so they stand out more.
Izumi: What are you guys doing?
Muku: We’ve been collecting flyers from other troupes to use as references.
Tenma: The faster troupes have already gotten going on their performances.
Izumi: Huh, already!?
Izumi: (No, we don’t need to rush, we don’t need to rush…)
Itaru: Ah, this one’s from that “Yua Troupe” that formed during the pre-voting. They’re really putting on a performance this soon, huh.
Muku: This one here also says it’s a debut performance.
Izumi: There sure are a lot of new theater companies. You can’t tell what their performances are like just from the flyer, so I’d like to go see one of them at least once.
Citron: I am very interested in this “Indulgence In Working Overtime Gang”!
Tumblr media
Sakuya: Their name’s pretty funny!
Izumi: Huh, they’re a pretty new theater company too. Why don’t we go watch their performance together?

★ Main Story | Act 13 - Budding Spring | Chapter 11 - Pause & Pose
Tumblr media
Citron: 《It seems that there are no problems regarding this matter.》
Personnel: 《Understood. Well then, there is one more thing I’d like to discuss--.》
Personnel: 《Actually, ever since your activities have become more widely known about to the general public, Citronia-sama, interest in foreign culture and arts has been growing.》
Personnel: 《There is a proposal that the country should take this opportunity to invite performances from abroad.》
Citron: 《I think that’s a wonderful idea. I will talk it over with my father.》
Personnel: 《If that’s the case, I will make putting together a rough outline my number one priority.》
Tumblr media
Citron: 《I’ll be keeping an eye out for promising theater companies and other groups on my end.》
Personnel: 《Thank you very much for doing so. I will have a rough outline ready in time for the International Arts Festival, so please wait until then.》
Citron: 《Regarding that… please put the status of my attendance on hold due to scheduling circumstances.》
Personnel: 《Would you like someone else to attend in your place? His Majesty also said that this would be a good opportunity to promote Zahra to places abroad…》
Citron: 《No, if we do participate, I would be the person most suited for it… but I’m currently tied up with some other things. Please just give me some time.》
Personnel: 《Understood.》
Citron: …

Tsuzuru: What are you? Some kinda hourly reporter? Chill, I’ll take a break soon.

Shop Worker: Welcome. Please take a seat anywhere.
Tsuzuru: …
Syu: Oh, would you look at that, if it ain’t Minagi-sensei.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Huh--.
Tsuzuru: (I never would’ve expected to see Otomiya-san in a coffee shop like this, it’s like seeing an animal in the wrong environment… Like a bar would make sense, but here?)
Syu: I ain’t out drinkin’ all the time, y’know.
Tsuzuru: (Busted…)
Syu: You alone? Come ‘n hang out with me for a bit.
Tsuzuru: Ah, well, if you insist…
Tsuzuru: (He even acts like we’re in a bar.)
Syu: Damn, that Yukio’s really done it again.
Tsuzuru: Huh?
Syu: The Fleur Award.
Syu: This is Yukio we’re talkin’ about, so I bet he’s all “Theater is the best” and “It’s more fun when everyone’s aiming to win the Fleur Award ♪”
Syu: He probably hasn’t even stopped to think about all the people who got caught up in this and now can’t tell left from right in the confusion.
Tsuzuru: Haha…
Tsuzuru: (I’m really starting to feel like I’m one of those people…)
Syu: So, how are things goin’ for you? Figure out what you’re gonna do to win?
Tsuzuru: Ah, we’re thinking of doing sequels for our debut performances…
Syu: You don’t say. That sounds pretty interestin’.
Tsuzuru: It’s just, this is my first time writing a sequel, so I’m having a lot of trouble trying to figure out how to make it work and what kinds of things people are expecting from me. I’ve got a huge weight on my pen, so to speak.
Syu: Why can’t ya just keep doin’ what you’re doin’? Doesn’t the fact that you chose to do sequels to your debut performances show that you’ve got some kinda determination?
Tsuzuru: Well, I mean, I guess so.
Syu: Well, if you’re in need of some more help--.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: ?
Syu: …Ever heard of a director named Akazaki?
Tsuzuru: Oh, I have. Isn’t he pretty famous?
Syu: He’s a director and a playwright, and every few years he runs a scriptwriting camp to train the younger generations.
Syu: He’s doin’ it again this year and asked me if I knew of any promising young talent.
Syu: I was actually gonna recommend you, Minagi-sensei, but I decided against it ‘cause I figured you’d be too busy for it.
Tsuzuru: A scriptwriting camp… those actually exist?
Syu: Playwrights who have participated in it in the past have done things like won theater awards overseas and have been selected to work on major dramas, so it’s got a proven track record.
Tsuzuru: I’ve never done anything like that before, so I’m really, really interested.
Tsuzuru: But considering that the results for the first quarter are gonna be announced in three months, I don’t know if I’d have the time for it…
Tsuzuru: (I’m pretty attracted to new challenges, but given the timing, I feel like I’ve gotta hold back on this one.)
Tsuzuru: I’ll definitely want to participate whenever the next one happens.
Syu: Got it. I’ll keep ya posted for when that time comes.
Syu: And like I said before, I think you’re doin’ fine as is, Minagi-sensei.
Syu: If you’re goin’ back to the basics, let your past self teach ya about ‘em within the script for your debut performance.
Syu: Think about what it is you wanna write about. It’s pretty easy to find that sorta thing in your first work.
Syu: Writin’ what you wanna write is one of the upsides to workin’ for a specific theater. This sequel’s somethin’ that only you can create, Minagi-sensei.
Syu: Do what you want whenever ya get the chance. Before it gets to a point where ya wanna read somethin’ but can’t.
Tsuzuru: --.
Tsuzuru: (...Right. He can’t read any more of Hakkaku-san’s sequels.)
Tsuzuru: (And if it weren’t for the changes in the Fleur Award system, we might’ve never brought up the idea of doing sequels to begin with.)
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: (Blindly clinging to the opportunities put in front of me. That’s how I did things back during RomiJuli.)
Tsuzuru: (Thinking it could’ve been both my first and last chance, I was willing to do anything and everything I possibly could.)
Tsuzuru: (That’s why now, I--.)
