I just binged the whole manga and the anime of onk after I saw a clip of Akane. She is my fav character and I love reading your takes. Like this manga is so nuaced like it's tiny small details you need to look at. Did aqua like Kana? It isn't clear non of his feelings are clear for anbody. It is clear he cares for them, he cares for a lot of people but when it comes to who he loves romantically nothing is clear because most of his actions steem from guilt. At first not letting Ruby be an idol was so he could protect her because he felt guilty about Ai, distancing himself from Kana also steemed from his guilt of not protecting Ai. Because he made Kana an idol and if he got closer to her the same thing could happend to her as it happened to Ai. It's his guilt of not protecting Ai that made him not want to repeat the situation again. This is harder to apply to Akane because while she is in the entertainment industry she doesn't share the traits of the idol life and she is ultimatley the only one tigwther with the director that sees how guilty he feels which adds layers to their relationship. I kinda feel robbed we actually didn't get to see much of them together, they were together for almost a year after all. But back on track it's clear he cares a lit about Akane by breaking up with her to protect her which parallels how he didn't want to hurt Kana either. But spoilers for the latest manga chapters, Akane has declared she is going to stop him and it seems like the feeling he had for Kana really became more platonic or even less. Because while he always was about protecting her he now ropes her in and puts her in center of the danger while trying to push Akane out. It's so hard to figure put what he is thinking but it used to be clear he cared a lit about both of them and now he's gone of the rails and it will be interesting to see if anyone can bring him back. I am worried about Akane as she had been given the white flowers and, I do think ruby will get the role as Ai, if by chance Akane actually gets it would be terryfying to see aqua and akane mirror the love between ai and Hikaru. Even if we don't know much about ai and hikarus love story I feel like it parallels Aqua and Akane in many ways minus the urge to kill part. Sorry this got long but I just really love your takes about Aqua and Akane and needed someone to talk to about the show and quite frankly I just need more Akane and hopefully I'll get that in the upcoming arc as she declared war but also I'm terrified of her actually getting hurt now that the other actress got killed.
I just binged the whole manga and the anime of onk after I saw a clip of Akane.
I love how we're all in the same boat! Akane is just too powerful 😂
because most of his actions steem from guilt.
Tumblr media
Aqua's guilt and how it feeds his self-destructive behavior is something I've been meaning to talk about in the context of his relationship with Akane, because there are so many moments when Aqua completely overplays the ways in which he has "used" Akane, and it's all because guilt is such a big part of him that I'm not even sure if he's capable of having a single thought that doesn't end up relating to it lol
I kinda feel robbed we actually didn't get to see much of them together, they were together for almost a year after all.
Me too. Honestly, that sucked, specially because the two or three times we got to see them were fantastic. The way he off-screened their time together actually made me think of his previous manga and how he handled the dates between Tsubame and Ishigami, which doesn't help matters any 😩
Because while he always was about protecting her he now ropes her in and puts her in center of the danger
Honestly, Aqua is such a liar that I wouldn't be surprised if he's just gaslighting himself into thinking that he's okay with using her. I'll believe it when we actually see him have an use for her lol
while trying to push Akane out.
This though is fantastic development and the biggest testament as to how much Aqua has grown to care for Akane. It's so funny how he couldn't help himself so he ended up going to see her anyway 😭 he's such a clown.
I am worried about Akane as she had been given the white flowers
I don't know why, but I'm confident Akane is safe. I feel that if Aka were intending to kill her or put her out of commission, the chapter were she got pushed down those stairs was the perfect time to do so. It had Aqua having a monologue about how much he wants to be with Akane, Akane having a heroic moment, etc. It would have been the perfect lead-in to Aqua losing himself in his revenge too, in fact it would've been better than what we got.
But instead of that, Aka just had Aqua break up with Akane to achieve the same result. So I'm not really worried about her for now. Even less so because it'd be very anti climatic for Akane to be set-up as the L to Aqua's Light only to die right after.
Sorry this got long but I just really love your takes about Aqua and Akane and needed someone to talk to about the show
Nothing to apologize for anon, I really enjoyed reading your thoughts and I get you completely! I'm having tons of fun talking about the show with fellow Akane fans like you.
and quite frankly I just need more Akane
Truer words have never been spoken. GIVE US AN AKANE CHAPTER AKA 😭

i love ur ideas on the phantom thieves au!!! like fuck i just agree with all of them — from their passive-aggressive flirting then dates then make-out sessions; akane working harder to prove himself then doubled his efforts just to help teru and teru not letting anyone talking shit about his thief but them still being petty and smug assholes to each other and those around them (gotta love a couple who is powerful and can kick ass while looking hot and pretty); and just terukane being terukane😍😍😍
i also found it fucking hilarious that whenever they fought, teru just throws his goddamn bf back in jail and told him to teach the guards a lesson of not slacking off bwahahahahahhah such a teru move
alsoalso i like how u created the backgrounds for them and their roles within this au that i can seeeee it happen while retaining their canon selves – hanakane rivalry and hanako being the dramatic bastard and aoi being spoiled with akane's stolen goods and terukane are♥️♥️♥️
and apolgiies for rambling and thank uuuu so much for answering this ask of mine!!! while its gotta make me desperate for this content, it'll feed me for a long time!! thank uu again!!!!!!!
(Phantom Thieves AU:  Part 1 .  Hanako pov )
THAT'S SO SWEET! I AM HAPPY YOU LIKED MY IDEAS!
And no need to apologize at all! I may be slow at replies but I adore rambling asks and comments the most! They make me gain a new level of appreciation for my own writing, and the energy in ramblings is always very infectious!! :D
Speaking of which! This ask inspired me, so have a sprinkle more of headcanons for the phantom thieves au!
- Teru used to push Akane's ponytail harshly at the start of their alliance, but now he only gently tugs at it to call Akane’s attention.
- Teru understands Akane well enough to know what kind of gem or art piece he will target next. He is rich enough to buy whatever Akane wants to steal, but he is also smart enough to know anything Akane steals, he gives it to Aoi. So Teru has no idea what to buy to spoil Akane. He eventually buys Akane a gramophone that fit the man's aesthetic. It's a very pleasant present on the surface but Teru brought it for selfish reasons, hoping he could use it as an excuse to dance with his boyfriend.
- When Teru give him the gramophone Akane was suspicious it had a tracker or some kind of joke on it at first, but when it became abundantly clear it was a genuine gift Teru got for him, Akane was touched. It was the first time he called Teru a pet name in a fond manner: It killed Teru, the chief actually got a bit shy.
Teru gets his dance. He gets many dances! Since the two are from aristocratic families, overdressing and dancing is a must, Akane knows whenever Teru steps on his shoe it's always on purpose, not cause he can’t dance. This usually escalates into an aggressive game of footsy that ends with the two laughing.
- Teru is rarely vulnerable, but anyone can tell he is very protective: If someone genuinely hurt Akane, physically or mentally, the cop will not hesitate to lash them. His whip is known to be a nightmare that will scar. So any high noble that might have taken advantage of Akane very quickly stopped doing so.
- After a month of dating, their flirting is so obvious it makes every cop groan. No one believes it’s business related when Teru handcuffs Akane and says “Since a jail can’t contain you, I’ll have to take it into my own hands~” and gleefully shoves a cranky Akane inside his personal office.

⋆──────☆──────⋆
“Stupid pretty-boy,” Akane mumbled to himself as he marched through the hallways of Kamome Gakuen.
His rival, Minamoto Teru, was deceivingly sly. No one would have ever expected the school prince to have such a secretly dark side of him. Akane shivered.
A couple weeks back during the semester exams, Teru successfully provoked Akane into competing with him in an academic contest; in which the winner (whoever had the most points on their exams), got to command the loser to do anything.
Naturally, Akane refused with a blunt, “How about no?”, but after Teru threatened to “confess” to his beloved Aoi, Akane had no choice but to give in.
And now,
It was time for Akane’s revenge.
Sneakily tip-toeing around the campus during lunch, Akane whipped his head back and forth to find that evil Teru.
“Aha!”
There he was... talking to a girl?
‘Wait.. who's that?’
Akane racked his brain, trying to remember where he’s seen you. Wait- now that he’s thinking about it, he does remember seeing you hanging out with Teru pretty frequently, sharing laughs and cheerful smiles.
He hid behind a wall while resting his chin in his hand.
‘Could it be,’ he crept out to take another peek at you and Teru, narrowing his eyes as he noticed that you both were awfully close to each other.
‘-that Teru has a crush?’
Oh, yes.
This was the lead that Akane needed in order to set his revenge plan in place. Giggling like a little gremlin, he tip-toed back into the school.
A couple days passed, and now Teru and Akane were sorting through Student Council papers.
“Say, Teru,” Akane started, sifting his pile absentmindedly.
“Hmm?”
“Who’s that girl that you’ve been talking to lately? Was it.. [Name]-san?”
Teru froze, the sound of rustling papers coming to an abrupt halt.
His narrowed eyes looked up at Akane’s preoccupied expression. “..Why does it matter?”
“Oh, because-” Akane leaned back into his chair, stretching his arms over his head while smirking. “I’ve begun to accept the fact that Aoi will always reject me.. and [Name] is pretty cute, don’t you think?”
“Akane, you’re just joking with me, aren’t you?” Teru tried to bite back the venom in his tone.
He continued, “And if you’re trying to trick me, it won’t work.”
But Teru’s cold body language said otherwise. It wasn’t difficult to see that he was creasing his paper with a tight grip, or how his mood instantly turned sour.
Akane’s words were clearly having an effect on Teru, whether he liked it or not.
‘Interesting.’ Akane observed Teru’s body language out of the corner of his eye. He knew that he was bound to hit a soft spot for Teru, but to find it so quickly? Akane struck gold. He had no idea that Teru was this... sensitive when it came to you.
“I mean, Teru.. You’re not jealous, are you?”
The boy in question brushed it off too quickly, stating,
“Jealous? That’s childish. I’m not jealous.” He stiffly held his hole puncher, using a little more force than necessary to clip holes into his pile of paper.
Teru looked like he was trying to convince himself more than he was trying to convince Akane.
Akane’s “plan to confess to you” was just a bluff; no matter how hard he tried, he would never be able to fall out of love with his lovely Aoi. But in order to get back at Teru, he wouldn’t mind becoming friends with you! It was win-win.
He always imagined Teru as this untouchable, charismatic leader who would rather prioritize his studies or exorcism over a potential relationship. So why was it so easy for you to break down his walls?
“Hi Teru!” you poked your head out from the classroom door frame, a bubbly vibe around you.
In the blink of an eye, Teru’s bad mood vanished- it was as if he wasn’t even sulking in the first place. As Akane watched Teru, he could tell that Teru wasn’t even faking it either; he was truly just happy to see you.
“[Name]! What are you doing here?” Teru said with a gentle smile.
He kicked Akane under the table as a warning. “oww-”
“I was just on my way to my club and I wanted to say hello.” you beamed.
You noticed that Akane was there too, who looked pretty frazzled. “Oh wait, I was actually looking for you, Akane!”
“Oh~? You were looking for me?” He smirked, locking eyes with Teru before shrinking away under his murderous gaze. ‘..Scary’
“I-I mean, uh.. Is there anything you need, [Name]-san?”
“Well,” You sat on top of a nearby desk and swung your legs lightly, oblivious to the thick tension in the room. “You told me a few days ago how you were willing to tutor me on some subjects? I really want to raise my score for next semester.”
Teru not-so-sneakily shot daggers at Akane. The red-haired boy gulped.
“R-Right! We can talk about scheduling a time after this! Hah..”
"Really? Ah, thank you so much Akane!” you hummed with a bright smile.“I owe you one.”
“And that is,” you glanced at the clock, “-all of the time that I have right now. I guess I’ll talk to you guys later!” you waved at them, and with that, you padded out of the door.
Teru waved back with a fond smile. “Bye, [Name]-san.”
And like a switch, he flipped his mood instantly.
“Akane,” he gave his most sickeningly-sweet smile to Akane, who in contrast, looked like he was going to bolt.
‘Shit, I’m done for-’
“We are going to have a decent, thorough discussion later, aren’t we?”
“.......y-yup..”
- - - - -
You peered up at the sky with a slight frown, eyeing the dark clouds. Maybe you should have brought an umbrella, just in case? It looked like it could rain any minute.
You wrapped your school jacket a little tighter around yourself as you searched for Akane in front of the school.
‘He told me to wait for him right around.. here!’
And to your pleasant surprise, you found... Teru standing underneath the tree that you and Akane decided to meet under.
The agreed plan was to then head to a cafe and go over some of the school material, and then discuss when to schedule the next tutoring session. So what was Teru doing, waiting patiently in Akane’s place?
“Teru?” you approached him with a slightly tilted head. “Where’s Akane?”
“Hey. Akane wasn’t feeling very well, so he asked me to take his place instead. Is that fine with you?” he questioned softly, brushing a hand through his locks.
You furrowed your brow. “Damn, I hope he feels better soon. And it’s no problem! Let’s get going, yeah?” you said.
Teru nodded eagerly and walked in step with you, brushing his arm with yours. While you were distracted, he smiled victoriously to himself. Yes, he may have threatened Akane (or ‘highly discouraged’, as Teru put it), but in the end, it all worked out fine! Now, he got to spend some more time with you, and also didn’t to worry about Akane’s cunning trickery. Perfect!
‘I’ll find some way to make it up to him after this..’ he thought.
You felt a drop of rain fall on your cheek, and you blinked up at the clouds once again. “Rain? Crap, I didn’t bring an umbrella with me-”
“One sec, I have one in my bag. We can share it.” Teru looked calm on the outside, but internally he was cheering.
As he held the umbrella over the two of you, you seemed to ponder about something for a moment before asking, “..I-Is it all right if I scoot in a little closer, Teru?”
A thousand times yes- “Ah, of course.”
Here you both were, each with a slight blush dusting over your faces, and with equally thudding hearts.
He glanced down at you with butterflies in his chest, taking his arm out of the sleeve of his jacket before draping it over your shoulders.
“It’s getting a little chilly, so keep warm, [Name].”
You leaned more into his side, hiding your smile. “..Thank you, Teru!”
Okay, he might have been a just a little jealous earlier.
Tumblr media
But now that you were at his side, he couldn’t have been more content.

home is where my team is - Chapter 6

Read also here: AO3 | FFNET
The moment he entered the street his home laid in, in an area that is considered to be Konoha’s “Inuzuka neighbourhood”, the smell of spices and fresh meat took over the other scents around him, almost making him salivate slightly as he pulled open the front gate. It was early evening - almost time for dinner, he assumed, and man, was he starving.
Kiba nearly tripped over his own feet as he rushed through the front door and sat on the ledge of the entryway of his home, unzipping the back of his sandals and kicking off his shoes. He was about to leave his sandals in their spot, one having flipped over and laying on its side, however, the memories his mom scolding him harshly from the last time he left his shoes in the entryway, and today was the day he did not want hear any type of scolding from Tsume.
Before Kiba could give a command, Akamaru bounced up from the ledge leading into the house, barking and bouncing through the hallway into the living room.
“Chicken! Chicken!” Akamaru barks echoed through the hallways.
"Hey, Akamaru! Sit! Sit!!" A voice came from within, making Kiba jump up from the ledge and briskly walk towards the doorway.
He found Hana standing in the kitchen, near the counter with chicken legs lined up on a glass platter, hands covered in plastic gloves in the air away from her, extending the leg that Akamaru had decided to attach himself onto away from the counter. Akamaru almost immediately backed off of Hana when Kiba stepped into the space, sitting down, but he never left Hana’s side.
“I wasn’t expecting you guys to be back home this early,” Hana commented, looking up to Kiba. She tilted her head to the side, the side of her mouth lifting into a grin, an eyebrow raised. “So? Pass or fail?”
“You knew?” Kiba asked, his eyebrows pulling in automatically at her question, a realization dawning on him. “Why didn’t you tell me that I would have to take another test to become a Genin!”
“You sign a NDA along with your contract to ensure that you don’t tell Academy students about the test,” Hana answered with a slight shrug, taking off the plastic gloves, quickly turning on the sink and running her hands with soap.
Kiba desperately wanted to ask, “What the hell is a NDA?”, but Hana chuckled a bit, continuing, “I’m kidding, it’s not that serious. But they do tell us not to mention it to upcoming Academy graduates, just in case. Even the ones who failed can’t mention it either. So? Did you fail?”
Kiba quickly shoved his hand into his hoodie pocket, pulling out the headband he took off on the way back home, the mixture of sweat and dirt from all those hours running around, fighting Kurenai, and rolling across the ground making the fabric stick to his forehead in a way that even he found to be uncomfortable and mildly gross. The smell of it...well...he didn’t want to begin to describe it. He showed her the handband in the palm of his hand, and he could see Hana’s face brighten up, a big smile.
“Hey, I knew you could do it!” Hana said, walking up towards him, a hand reaching out to rub his head roughly, the strength of it making Kiba’s move around a bit too much, he swore his skull was going to snap off his neck.
“Hey! Ow! Stop it!” Kiba exclaimed, his voice cracking throughout the inflections, and Hana pulled her hand away (but not without giving him a few more ruffles). “You’re ruining my hair!”
“It’s already ruined,” Hana replied, putting a hand on her hip. “Go wash up and come back downstairs. And actually, wash up properly.”
“I’m not a kid! I know how to clean myself,” Kiba continued as Hana silently ushered him out of the kitchen, out into the hallway to the staircases leading up to the top floor.
“Do you? Do you really?” Hana asked, and Kiba squinted his eyes, throwing her his best annoyed look to get her to stop bugging him. He walked up the stairs with Akamaru a step below him, slower than he would, all the movement he did that day catching up to him and making his legs ache in a way that he never felt from anything he had to endure throughout the years at the Academy. Actual battles are different from those training spars they had to do, for sure. When they emphasized endurance and resistance training, Kiba didn't think much of it- but now, he has to come up with some new regimen to follow.
Suddenly, he heard Hana call out from the bottom of the staircase, “Wear your cleanest clothes! We’re going to have guests!”
“What!?” Kiba called back immediately, whipping his head back to look down at her, but all he saw was Hana walking away into the hallways, likely to go back to the kitchen. He yelled, louder now, “Hana! What?! What d’you mean we’re having guests?!”
“You heard me!” He heard Hana’s voice, muffled through the walls, call back, and he could hear the sound of water running again quickly before he could yell back again. He didn’t want to go back downstairs, already at the top of the staircase to begin with, and he knew Hana was going to tell him to leave her alone so she could do what she was doing in peace.
What the hell! Kiba thought as he went through the top drawer that was underneath the bathroom sink, taking out his green visor-like shower cap, after grabbing his towel from his room and throwing all his clothes in the laundry basket in the corner of his room. He nearly stomped into the bathtub, putting the visor around his forehead, around above his ears, before turning the knob maybe a bit too aggressively. He quickly set up the water temperature with the knobs, the cold water from the showerhead turning warm as the water hit his hair, traveling down over his body.
I was going to meet up with Akane after the test! Kiba furiously grabbed the nearest shampoo bottle in the tub - the only one there, a lavender scented one, just lovely, he really needs to buy his own shampoo from now on unless he wanted to smell like a flower shop - and he lathered and massaged it into his brown strands. He was careful not to let the shampoo get anywhere near his ears, he knew that it would annoy him if water got into his ears. I wanted to...oh fuck, my eyes!
He had somehow got soap in his eyes, and Kiba quickly cupped his hands to catch the water and wash his face. After that, he quickly cleaned the rest of his body, not wanting to stand in there longer than he had to.
Kiba had met up with his friends the evening before at the park near the Academy, after he met Kurenai for the first time and he had stayed behind at the tea house with Hinata and Shino. The moment they finished the tea and mochi that Kurenai had (thankfully) paid for, he ran off, not wanting to be held back with them anymore. They were more than excited about their sensei - he was so cool, Akane had swooned, with a bandana and a toothpick in his mouth without a care in the world- and they were definitely much more optimistic about their team than Kiba could have ever dreamed of being.
Hinata and Shino… he won’t lie and say that he thought of them differently before this test they had to take together. Other than what he thought of them before - one being shy and passive and the other being cold, rude, and, well, creepy- he also had thought they would be much more...stuck up.
Well, Shino was kind of stuck up, in a way, however...he did recognize Kiba’s abilities as a shinobi, entrusting him with a pretty big role in their strategy to get Kurenai’s headband. But...the way he speaks to him, with all those big words and explaining every little detail, asking him questions all uppity, like he was looking down on him when he asked a question…
Kiba knew they were from noble clans - the Hyuuga and the Aburame, two of the four other clans to help found the Village, along with the Uchiha and the Akimichi clan. And the only reason Kiba even cared to remember this is because his year had a student from these clans. Sasuke Uchiha and Choji Akimichi, specifically. The latter one, he was acquainted to as well, but he had a hard time believing that Choji came from such an esteemed clan - he always hung out with Shikamaru and asked him for his allowance to buy snacks from the convenient store near the Academy, always snacking during class, and he was not a better student than...any of them, really.
Choji was very different from the other three students. He was definitely friendlier and more outgoing. And he was actually approachable.
Hinata was definitely different from how he thought she would act. Well, yes, she was shy, and was very much a peacekeeper between himself and Shino, and was passive about what to do when they first started the test together. He expected her to be snobbish as well; between all of them, the Hyuuga, from what he remembers from seeing in passing when Hinata was accompanied by a member of the clan to school and on parent-teacher conference night, had a sense of...importance that they carried. They also smelled like, what Kiba would describe as, freaking loaded.
And he expected Hinata to react differently when he teased her - he thought she would have told him off, in a more ladylike way with less cursing obviously (imagine Hinata cursing...that would be funny), like how most of the girls in the class do whenever a guy tries to get on their nerve and make a dumb joke.
Hinata genuinely thought he was serious, and she...just looked very naive. Sheltered, if he had to go there. And she didn’t try to demean him in any way. And...she just accepted his apology, because really, he thought she wouldn’t react that taken aback, and she was just...generally very easy going.
Not saying that he felt some deep and profound connection with them after this test, no. But maybe having to smell them, getting all in their personal space, might have done something? Kiba felt his face start to heat up as he thought about how close he was to them, close to their clothes, their hair, their skin. He never had to do that before; it was his first time. Usually, he would be adjusted to people’s scent through time, and while it did take a very long time that way, it is the least intimate way to get to know someone.
Stop thinking about it, Kiba commanded himself, feeling his heart beating fast, and he turned off the water faucet, taking a deep breath. Now’s not the time...we got other shit to deal with.
“Akamaru!” Kiba opened the bathroom curtains slightly open, grabbing the towel he hung nearby and wrapped it around his chest - no, he meant his waist. He found Akamaru laying down on the mat on the floor, eyes closed as the steam from the hot water created a foggy blanket in the room.
Akamaru immediately pulled himself up on his feet to the sound of Kiba's voice, looking straight at him, barking, “Yes Master!”
“Come here,” Kiba gestured. Akamaru didn’t budge, his tail momentarily stopped moving, and he stared at Kiba, frozen in place. Kiba stared at him for a moment, waiting. But when he noticed Akamaru starting to back away towards the bathroom door, Kiba immediately stepped out of the tub, taking a few steps. Akamaru quickly turned around and started to scrape at the door, whining.
“No! Please don’t!” Akamaru whined, and Kiba swiftly picked him up, holding him with both hands.
“Would you rather Hana wash you?” Kiba replied as he quickly plugged the beige bathtub stopper in the drain, turning on the faucet and letting the water run until it was shallow enough for Akamaru to stand, but deep enough to easily throw water on him.
“Yes-!” Akamaru replied, and without any hesitation, Kiba sat on his knees and let go of Akamaru into the bathtub, where the pup let out a yelp as he landed on his feet.
“It’ll be fast, I promise!” Kiba grumbled as he held Akamaru with a hand around Akamaru’s narrow waist. “And don’t bite, or else!”
“Help! Hana, help me!” Akamaru called out.
“Stay still!”
After what felt like too long for a quick bath for a pup that size, Akamaru was sitting on his bed wrapped in a towel, while Kiba put on, as his sister said, his “cleanest clothes”. Other than what he would wear for training, he didn’t have many options - but a plain black t-shirt and brown cargo pants should be enough to please Hana. The smell of cooked chicken, along with other foods wafted through his slightly opened bedroom door.
What guests are they even going to have?
“You want me to get the hairdryer?” Kiba asked Akamaru while aggressively rubbing a towel in his hair, trying to dry it to the best of his abilities. Akamaru shook his head, and Kiba sat down beside him, patting his fur gently after Akamaru shaked his body quickly.
“Kiba!” He heard Hana’s voice call from the first floor through. “Are you done? Come down!”
“Yeah!” Kiba hollered back.
“Huh? I can’t hear you!” Hana called back.
“I SAID ‘YEAH’!” He got up on his feet, quickly making his way down the stairs, through the hallways, and…
“Well, if isn’t the man of the hour! Congrats, Kiba!”
“What the-” Kiba muttered when he saw the living space was filled with...well...members of the Inuzuka clan.
There were members of his clan sitting on the three couches surrounding the coffee table, spaced out between themselves. He saw the space in between occupied with a few dogs, all of varying fur length and colour but they were all larger, older than the other dogs in the clan, laying on their stomachs, taking a nap. The screen door was slightly open, and he could hear even more dogs, playfully barking while the sound of children yelling in glee.
Young and old...Immediate family or extended members that he does not share blood with...it didn’t matter how they were all related to each other or whether they were related at all. What mattered was that they carried the Inuzuka name, they were loyal to one another in the clan and...they were here.
To celebrate him becoming a Genin.
It was only a fraction of the clan, though - regardless, Kiba felt warm seeing them there. The one who congratulated him first, before everyone else also started to throw whoops and cheers of congratulations, was a man in the Konoha green flak jacket, around middle aged, slightly sturdier in size sitting on the corner seat of one of the couches, with tan skin and brown hair, paler with a few grey strands from age, that fell just below just above his shoulder. He wasn’t one of the most senior members of the clan, but he was getting there, though the man tends to say that he was still agile despite being in his 50s.
“Man of the hour, huh?” Kiba asked, grinning at his words as he approached the couches, and the man stood up, much taller than Kiba and wider than Kiba’s small statue. The man reached over to grab his shoulder, nearly toppling Kiba forward from the strength of his affectionate shake. “So, can I call you Gaku instead of old man?”
“Hey, hey, don’t get too comfortable,” Gaku cautioned, though he laughed while saying it, while the others around him chuckled and laughed at Kiba’s cheeky request. “You’re still a little brat!”
“He’s not so little anymore; you've gotten taller since the last time I saw you,” another man chimed in, and Kiba glanced beyond Gaku, where another middle aged man sat at the end of the couch. His hair was much shorter than Gaku’s, much more grey and split from the side, but just as choppy, not wearing his flak jacket, rather wearing a casual shirt and pants. He had similar red markings on his cheeks. “At this rate, you’ll be taller than Tosa!”
“Well, aren’t you a comedian, Isamu,” Tosa, sitting on the couch opposite from them, scoffed, his voice deeper and lower than the other two men’s. Kiba had to hold back his laugh while the others around them let out laughter at the man’s deeping frown, making the lines on his face deepen, his red marks moving down. “You should consider joining a circus.”
“I’ll do it when I retire,” Isamu replied lightheartedly. “Maybe after Hitomi finishes school, I’ll run away.”
“Please do,” a woman, probably about a few years younger than them but still with evident aging on her tan skin, who sat on the opposite end of the couch Tosa sat on, replied. She grinned, her red marks perking upwards, as she spoke, “Then maybe I will know peace, for once.”
“Well, I did tell you not to settle with him,” He heard another voice from the dining table, and he glanced over at another middle aged woman, her black hair, speckled with grey strands, tied back into a bun, her hands busy skinning an apple. Unlike the others, she didn’t have the red fangs on her cheek. A large plate sat in front of her, already with some apple slices and tangerines.
“Well someone has to be with him, Fuuko,” the woman beside Tosa replied, gesturing towards him as Isamu smiled along. “Look at him. Nobody else in the Village wanted him.”
“Haya, what have I done to deserve this kind of treatment,” Isamua pleaded to his wife, who rolled her eyes in response.
“Aunt Fuuko, you can let Kiba handle the rest,” they heard Hana calling from the kitchen, and Kiba glanced back towards the entryway, finding her holding a tray with fried rice. The smell immediately filled the air, and from the scent Kiba could tell it was fresh from the pan. Hana looked at Kiba, and held the tray out towards him, not moving to him. “Kiba, put this on the table, please.”
“C’mon Hana, it’s the boy’s special day!” Gaku replied before Kiba could even scowl back at her, his body instinctively ready to walk towards her. “Let him rest for a bit.”
“The more hands I have in the kitchen, the faster the food comes out,” Hana replied, glancing down at Kiba, looking at him expectedly. He knew supporting Gaku would not deter her - besides, even if Kiba didn’t want to do it, it wasn’t like he was doing much of the work. Hana must have been preparing all of this food for a while...and Tsume left this morning to go on a mission, and was nowhere in sight, so he could only assume she hadn’t come home yet. Besides...If Tsume comes home to find him not caring for their guest... that’s another fear he does not need.
“Alright, alright,” Kiba replied, walking out of Gaku’s grasp towards Hana. “I’m coming.”
“Good,” Hana said with a wide smile, placing the tray on his arms. “Put this on the table, and then cut the fruits that are there.”
“Sure,” Kiba drawled. “Would you like me to do anything else, my dear sister?”
“Yes,” Hana said brightly, playing along with his tone. “You can make everyone here tea.”
“Hey, Hana! Bring out the sake!” Gaku called out from his seat from the couch. “We can’t celebrate without alcohol!”
“You guys want to drink now?” Hana replied, raising an eyebrow, looking straight at him above Kiba. “You don’t want to wait for everyone else to come?”
“Everyone else?” Kiba repeated, and as if on cue, the ding dong of the doorbell rang through the air. Hana immediately stepped past Kiba, and he quickly went to the dining table, placing the tray in the middle.
“Hey, Aunt Hachi! Thank you for coming! And Mimi, I love your dress, you look so pretty,” Hana kindly greeted their clansmen under the sounds of his aunts and uncles talking in the living room as he entered the kitchen. He begrudgingly filled the kettle on the counter with water from the sink, glancing around the kitchen space. He saw the oven was on, a timer ticking away near it, a mixture of cooked meats and spices emitting from it. Kiba inhaled sharply. There was chicken...more chicken...and meatballs, maybe? The more he sniffed, the more he smelled - tones of teriyaki, miso, the lemon and paprika… he could feel his mouth salivating again, his stomach letting out a low rumble.
He needed to distract himself.
“Who wants tea?” Kiba asked, and he heard a few ‘yeah’, ‘sure’ and ‘here’.
“Let me check if Hige wants one,” Haya said from her seat, gesturing to the sliding door leading outside. “He is sitting outside with Ken and Kegawa. Hige!”
She bellowed his name as she stood up, walking to the sliding door, "Oji-san! You want some tea?”
"Depends- who's making it?" He heard a voice distantly speaking from outside, elderly in quality, low and croaky, slow and steady in the tone.
"Kiba."
"He's here?!” The voice perked up, and Kiba could hear it clearer as it approached the sliding door. “Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
A face peered through the sliding door, aged through years of fighting through many wars before Kiba, or even Tsume, existed on this Earth. What was left of his hair was pure white, his hairline receding to reveal the top of his scalp, shiny under the light. His tan skin was etched with lines - wrinkles and scars, Kiba knew - and his sharp eyes looked around the room, just as they were since he was an active shinobi (or so they say). The Inuzuka genes were strong, even into their old age.
Even the balding.
Kiba considered himself lucky that he probably didn’t have that gene.
“Kiba!” Hige spoke in a booming voice, nearly making Akamaru jump beside him at the sound, much louder than Gaku. “You didn’t come to say hello?”
“I didn’t know you were here, Oji-san,” Kiba replied, giving a slight bow of his head. “You know you would have been the first one I said hello to.”
To this, Hige let out a loud laugh that Kiba swore made the room rumble a bit, grabbing the attention of even the elderly dogs in the room, as he said just as loudly, “You’re just like Tsume!”
“Hey, Oji-san!” Gaku called out. “Quiet down a bit, you’re yelling again! And don’t laugh so loud, you’re gonna raise your blood pressure!”
“What?” Hige replied, glancing around the room for moment. He lifted up a hand behind his ear, and yelled, “Did someone say something?”
“I SAID QUIET DOWN, YOU’RE YELLING AGAIN!” Gaku hollered back, making Isamu cringe beside him, covering his ears with both hands.
“Take your own advice!” Isamu pointed out, before another layer of loud discussion occurred.
"Kiba-niisan's here?!"
A different voice hollered from outside, a lighter voice.
Ken’s here?! Kiba thought, nearly straining his neck from whipping his head towards the door. A small head peered behind Hige, short tufts of brown hair poking in every direction, a boy that was a few years younger than Kiba. The moment the boy’s piercing brown eyes met Kiba’s, his face broke into a big, wide smile, puffing up his markless cheeks and he started to run towards the kitchen, every step light and fast.
“Ken!” Hige exclaimed as the boy ran past him, an order for him to stop running, but he didn’t listen to a word the old man said.
“Kiba-niisan! Kiba-niisan!!” The boy exclaimed as he ran into the kitchen. “Mom said you’re a real ninja now!”
“Yes I am,” Kiba replied, keeping his voice as even as he could. He could never try to make his voice all soft towards kids younger than him- his voice did not allow for that.
“Where’s your headband? Can I see it?” Ken continued to probe, stepping around to look up at Kiba, hovering.
“Uh, yeah, sure,” Kiba said, going into his pocket and fishing out his headband. The light of the kitchen caught the metal, giving it a gleam as Ken got on his tiptoes to peer at it with wide eyes.
“Whoaaaa,” Ken gasped as he blinked a few times. “Can I wear it?”
“No, you have to graduate from the Academy before you even think about wearing it,” Kiba said, quickly stuffing back in his pocket before Ken’s little hands could even go near it.
“Why is it blue?” Ken asked quickly, walking around Kiba to look up to him.
“I don’t know. You should ask your old man - he was around when they started making these things,” Kiba replied swiftly.
“I’ve seen headbands that are black, and, and, red, and-” Ken started to rattle off about headbands he’s seen, continuing to hover around Kiba. Kiba could feel his tolerance slowly grating away as he reached up to get a bunch of mugs, laying them out as he poured the boiling hot water into a teapot, the tea bag steeping the water a deep amber.
Hana told him that it was out of admiration, that he should be flattered that Ken looked up to Kiba since Kiba was the only male cousin he had, everyone else in the family being around Hana's age and older. Which, when Kiba thinks about it, yeah he did find it flattering, stroking his ego a bit as well. But that didn't stop Ken's constantly following him around like a tail annoying.
He had Akamaru for that.
“Ken!” another child’s voice, smaller and quieter than Ken’s voice, came from further away. Kiba glanced up to see another child, even younger than Ken, with a similar spiky brown hair that is apparently a common trait amongst the Inuzukas. “Where are you?”
“Kega! I’m in the kitchen,” Ken called out to the child, peering around through the open kitchen doorway. “With Kiba-niisan!”
Please, no more, Kiba looked up, the child’s feet pit-pat across the floor, the legs of his blue overalls snagging along behind.
“Kiba!” the small child exclaimed with a big smile, and he waddled over to where he stood, besides Ken, a good few inches smaller than the boy.
“Hello, Kegawa,” Kiba forced out, making his voice a bit less gruff for the kids, but dammit, his voice wasn’t built to be soft! Now, it’s not that he hates kids, and between the two brothers, Kiba really liked Kegawa because, well...he doesn’t talk as much as Ken, and was much more reserved, a stark contrast.
“Kiba-niisan! Come play with us,” Kegawa asked in a soft tone.
“Yeah!” Ken said in a much louder voice, suddenly tugging on Kiba’s shirt, pulling him as much as his seven year old strength could muster. “Come play with us! Come! COME!”
“Ken, my shirt!” Kiba protested, bordering on whining. Now his shirt’s gonna be stretched out! Kiba let a slight sigh as Ken let go, but the kid did not back off. “I can’t, I make food and everything. Don’t you want to eat chicken nuggets?”
“CHICKEN NUGGETS?!” Ken exclaimed, now enticed by the thought of food. Kids are so easy to distract...
“Yeah, I have to make it though,” Kiba said lightly, bending slightly with his hands on his knees. “I can make it with cheese inside and everything.”
“CHEESE?”
“Yeah, so if you and Kega play for a bit, I’ll make it and give it to you right away,” Kiba continued.
“Thank you…” Kiba could hear a tiny voice coming from the doorway into the living room. A little girl with two brown pigtails in a dress - Mimi, another cousin of theirs- came through the door, Hana right behind her.
“See, Mimi’s here too,” Kiba pointed out, and the brothers whipped their heads around at the same time towards the door. “Why don’t you ask her to play too!”
"Hey, Mimi!” Ken hollered immediately, running up towards the young girl, who stood idly as he grabbed her hand, tugging. “Finally! You’re here! C’mon, let’s go play outside!”
“Oh...okay,” Mimi said, following him closely, as Kega tailed behind her.
“Noka!” Ken called, looking at the portion of the living room where a few dogs laid around, and a black dog glanced up, looking at Ken. “Come play with us!”
“I’ll come out in a bit,” the dog, Noka, barked back lightly, returning to licking the fur on her paw. The dog wasn’t Ken’s dog, no, she was his mother’s ninken; ninkens tend not to leave their master’s side, however, when it comes to their master’s kids, on their master’s orders, they often are found to be a sort of caretaker for their child. Kiba doesn’t know how this specific dog can do it though; Noka was much older, equivalent to a human nearing their middle-age. And yet, she still manages to have the energy to keep up with both Ken and Kegawa.
Kiba let out a little sigh of relief as the three children ran across the room, slipping outside of the sliding door, leaving it slightly open as they were laughing in a childish glee. Finally, he can breathe a little more now.
A woman with red markings and a brown bob entered the living room behind Hana, interestingly wearing the flak jacket - she must've come here right after her shift. She immediately noticed Kiba through the open panel of the kitchen, and walked up to him.
Ah shit, here we go, Kiba thought as the woman affectionately pinched his cheek.
"Kiba-chan! Good job on passing!" The woman, Hachi, another aunt that was related to him somehow, or she wasn't actually related to him by blood, he doesn't remember, sang. He knew that she was Mimi’s mother, so likely she was blood-related. "I knew you could do it!"
"Thank you," Kiba managed to say, and she let go of him.
"Here's a lil’ something something," Hachi continued, and she produced a small envelope from her pocket,
"I can't accept this-" he started, actually wanting the money, but he knew he couldn't readily accept it.
Hachi immediately interrupted, pushing the envelope back to him, tatting, "Nuh uh. Keep it- buy yourself some new clothes for work or whatever you want to get."
Hachi was one of the younger aunts he had in the Inuzuka clan, though he wasn't sure how exactly they were related, she was one of the closer ones to him, he knew. She lived up to the young aunt role to anyone who called her Aunt Hachi - she was much more up to date with what was happening around the village, unlike the other aunts.
And she was the only one who gave out money as a gift when it wasn't New Year. It had helped Kiba out when he wanted to get something, but he didn't have the allowance for it or he knew Tsume would've said no.
“How many people are coming today?” Kiba asked when Hana entered the kitchen after Hachi left, who looked into the oven immediately.
"Everyone who can make it," Hana replied simply, as she took a pair of oven mitts that sat over the oven handle, putting them on as she opened the door. Immediately his senses were taken by the smell of food filling the space. He can't escape it- he could feel his mouth salivating. "That's why...you gotta give me a hand."
"What happened to Ma?" Kiba continued, waiting for the kettle to whistle while he watched Hana carefully place the large trays from within onto laid out towels on the counter.
"She should be here soon," Hana said, without much concern, her focus on the task at hand. "Tosa was out on a mission with her. He said she had to file a report with Uncle Tadao. Those things take a long while sometimes- you're gonna find out soon enough."
The doorbell rang, and Hana took off the oven mitts, heading out once again.
"Put the other trays inside the oven and set the timer to 20!" Hana said as she pointed out trays of meat on a different side of the kitchen counter.
"Please," Kiba emphasized to no one, taking the mitts and putting the trays into the oven.
It continued as such - more clans people entered the house as Hana greeted them, and Kiba was in and out of the kitchen to the dinner table, serving tea as more guests arrived and helping Hana with preparing the food. Eventually, the main courses were finished, and now Kiba simply stood by, waiting for Hana to signal that they could eat.
“Hey Ashi!” He heard his sister’s voice grow much chipper. “You decided to come! And who’s this little baby?”
"A baby?!" Akamaru barked beside Kiba, and started to bound excitedly away from Kiba towards the front.
“Hey, Akamaru!” Kiba replied, quickly following him, trying to catch him.
“Aw, what a cutie! Is this Kiba’s ninken? Sit!” A voice exclaimed delightfully, while Akamaru gave a cute ‘arf’ in response. Kiba peered around the corner, a young woman kneeling to the ground, as she petted Akamaru’s head, who had a tongue sticking out, panting. She continued, "Sorry, Ashimaru wasn’t feeling well!"
Kiba saw the young woman with long, dark brown hair and light brown skin, shorter than Hana in height, taking off her shoes. An equally young man stood beside her holding an infant in his arms, a bit paler than she was, and definitely taller than her, with ashy grey hair did the same. The woman had the red Inuzuka marks on her cheeks; the man, on the other hand, did not.
“Kiba!” the young woman exclaimed upon noticing Kiba, looking past Hana at him, and immediately entered the house. “Congratulations on becoming a Genin!”
“Thank you, thank you,” Kiba replied with a grin as he approached her, expecting her to give him a pat on the head, but rather, she reached over to pinch his cheek like a child. Because of course she would- every single one of them does this with him. “H-Hey! Ashi, leggo!”
“You might be considered a man now, but you’re still my little brother!” Ashi replied happily, letting go. “Aw, Hana, how’re they gonna let him go out on the field when he looks like this, huh?”
“Please, I’m not a kid anymore!” Kiba mumbled, rubbing the cheek she pulled, stinging. At this rate, he was getting worried about the state of his cheek at the end of the night.
Ashi was his cousin, not an immediate cousin, but she was one of Tsume’s nieces...from the many that she called a niece.
Growing up, Hana and her were close friends, always hanging out together. She treated Kiba nearly identical to how Hana would treat him, teasing him and treating him like an annoying little kid, but was much more obnoxious with it, unlike Hana who Kiba thought was at least, less loud and brash. It wasn’t until she started dating her now husband, that he hadn't seen her around the house. They got married two years ago, and immediately had, well...what her husband was holding in arms.
The baby looked blankly at Kiba, big round eyes staring as they watched him carefully, tiny fingers holding on to her father’s shirt, tufts of deep brown hair in pigtails with a bow on one side. Most of their limbs and body, rounded and curved, was covered in a long sleeved black dress, and some white bottoms and little socks with cute dog patterns around it. The baby, a girl named Akita, looked very much like an Inuzuka, despite her father having a starkly contrasting look from Ashi.
“You’ll always be that little kid,” Ashi mused, before turning around and heading back to the entryway. “Oh! And we got you something too!”
She rummaged through the basket that was under the red stroller, pulling out a purple gift bag, and held it up to him. “Here you go!”
“Ashi, you didn’t have to get him anything,” Hana replied. “He just became a Genin.”
“A Genin is still part of the force,” Ashi replied. “And Sanae thought you might need these! Your team is going to be a tracking team, right? You might want to start using these from now on.”
“How did you know?” Kiba asked as he accepted the gift, carefully peering through. Inside was a bag, sealed, with a few round purple balls inside, the size of a tennis ball. He knew immediately what it was, something that he has seen Hana and his mom packed when they were going to head out to a mission - smoke bombs. He hasn’t been able to practice with it, even at the Academy, the budget didn’t allow them to use every weapon, rather just look at it so they knew what it was.
“Everyone’s heard of the new Genin teams that passed by now,” the man, Sanae, behind them spoke up, his voice much softer than Ashi’s, and he took a step up the ledge. Everyone, Kiba assumed, was the shinobi forces. "Only three teams passed this year."
"Really?" Hana asked. "Last year, they only passed one."
“That one was an anomaly,” Ashi said. “Depending on how many teams they make, they put a limit; it’s always been typically 2-4 teams for about 8 years now? But, we are having a shortage of students becoming shinobis too, so that might be affecting our numbers.”
“They’re just not pumping out shinobis like they used to,” Hana replied with a shrug. “There were, like what, 60 students in my year? And we had about 6 teams that made it.”
“Yeah, it was something along those lines for me,” Ashi nodded, before glancing over to her husband. “What about your class?”
“Around that number as well,” Sanae agreed. “It was after the war, after all, so they really needed new shinobi. We had a lot more groups actually...about 10 teams?"
“Ah, that’s right,” Ashi sighed. “I forgot that you’re really old.”
Ashi quickly followed it with a loud laugh, while Sanae just smiled, not saying anything at Ashi’s joke at his expense.
Ashi continued, as they stepped inside, “I don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing that they have a limit with the number of students though. They should be lenient with it.”
“Nah, they’re like that so they can weed out the students that aren’t taking it seriously,” Hana added with a shrug. “Anyways, come inside, please. Kiba, please go make tea for both of them.”
“Alright,” Kiba said, refraining from groaning because, well, at least Hana said please this time. He was about to turn around, but not without bowing his head slightly. “I appreciate the gift. I’ll do my best.”
“Of course you will,” Ashi said, following behind Hana as they led them back down the hall, towards the living room. “You are Tsume’s kid after all.”
Right. He has and will always be known as Tsume’s kid...Hana’s brother… Kiba knew he had a lot more to live up to than most of his classmates had. He’s just going to have to work really hard to prove himself useful for his village.
They walked through the hallway, into the living room. The moment Sanae walked through with their child in hand, however, was when all attention from the rest of the clansmen turned towards them.
“Ashi brought the baby?” Isamu said, sitting up immediately to look over at Akita in Sanae’s arms.
“Hey, hey, where’s my hi, Uncle Isamu?” Ashi asked as she went around to the couches, leaning to give a side hug, to the people on the couches, receiving a nose kiss here and there, an unusual practice for those outside of the Inuzuka clan, but the constant norm they grew up with in the families.
“Yeah, hi,” Isamu said, distracted as Sanae brought the baby towards the center of the couches as he greeted his in-laws, letting Akita look around a bit, now looking a bit more happier at the multiple faces before her. “Sit here, Sanae.”
A demand, not a request, and Sanae looked at Isamu’s gesture towards the empty seat between himself and Gaku. Kiba could tell Sanae was thinking of something as he stared at the seat, and it took him a moment to finally respond with a hesitant smile, “A-ah, alright.”
Kiba watched from the kitchen as Sanae shuffled between the coffee table and the couch, his lean figure wedging itself between the two older men, their wide and muscular bodies taking up most of the space. He gave Akita to Isamu, who immediately swept the baby from his arms, lifting her up in the air before Sanae could protest. Akita, on the other hand, was making some happy sounds, and Isamu continued to gently lift her up and down, while cooing at her. Once Kiba finished making their tea, he placed it on the coffee table.
“Where’s your old man?” Haya asked as Ashi finally set herself down beside her after her greetings.
“He's still on a mission - he won’t be back until tomorrow,” Ashi said with a sigh.
“Already?” Haya asked, a quirk of an eyebrow. “I thought the doctor told him to take it easy with his injury.”
“Yeah, well, what can you do,” Ashi shrugged. “He sees it as a pride thing.”
“Nothing prideful about working with a busted kneecap,” Haya shook her head. Meanwhile, on the other couch, Isamu continued to play with Akita, now playing peek-a-boo while balancing her on his legs.
"Akita,” Gaku cooed from beside Sanae, quietly drinking his tea. “Come to Uncle Gaku."
"Uncle? You could be her grandpa," Tosa commented. Gaku immediately threw him a scowl.
"Don't mess it up for me- Tsume already made these kids call me old man, even when I told her not to," Gaku said while Isamu gently gave him the baby, holding the infant up in the air, before bringing her down to his face. “Who’s a cute little baby? Who’s a cute little baby? You are! You are!”
"Should've had your own, then," Haya commented, to which Isamu laughed.
"Gaku swore to never settle down," Isamu added as he leaned over towards the table, picking up the coffee mug that sat there.
"He made the right choice, then," Hachi replied from one part of the room, with a slight chuckle. "I can't imagine whoever he finds would stay for long."
"What is this slander?" Gaku scolded as he smiled towards Akita, who touched his beard curiously. Akita then reached out and tugged quickly on the tips of his beard and Gaku yelped. “OUCH!”
“H-hey, old man, you scared her!” Hana said when she saw Akita hesitate at Gaku’s yell, her face pausing momentarily as she began to frown. She quickly swooped Akita out of his hands when she let out a little cry. “Okay, okay, sh, sh, okay…”
“M-my bad,” Gaku hesitated, patting Akita on her back while she cried into Hana’s shoulder for a moment. Ashi simply let out a sigh.
“See, that's why Uncle Gaku can’t have his own, he doesn’t know how to reel in his own voice,” Ashi said, while she watched as Hana managed to calm her daughter down, taking a sip from her own tea. “He’ll just scare his own kid.”
“Sheesh…” Gaku mumbled as he took another sip from his cup, disappointed at Akita being quickly taken away from him. “I’m not even that loud- she’s just not used to loud noises, what, with Sanae-boy over here. And you managed to dial it back too, runt.”
“What’s that supposed to mean!" Ashi said deadpanned, but Gaku ignored her to reach a hand on Sanae’s shoulder.
Sanae nearly flinched at the sudden touch, his back much straighter now, and Kiba could tell that there was a rigidity to his form. Gaku then said, a bit of a smirk on his face, “How many more are you planning on having?”
“Oh we-!” Ashi started, but Gaku quickly interjected.
“Hold up, I’m asking Sanae over here,” Gaku said. “I haven’t heard the man talk in ages!”
Isamu decided to join in on badgering the young man, “That’s right! You’re not getting any younger you know! So how many are you two trying for?”
“Hm…” Sanae said, glancing over to Ashi, who watched him carefully. He then glanced around to the two men that surrounded him, expectantly waiting for him to respond. Kiba watched to see what he would say, knowing that this was their way of teasing Sanae, exclusively, and he could see his Adam's apple on his throat rise and fall as he swallowed.
It's not because he wasn't born into the Inuzuka clan, no, not at all. His Aunt Fuuko married into the clan.
It’s just because Sanae was an easier target than the other’s, with his quiet nature and his tendency to get nervous easily. Like he was at that moment.
“Maybe 3 more?” Sanae replied softly, earning a loud laugh from Gaku and Isamu. Ashi’s eyes opened slightly at his response.
“Atta boy,” Gaku laughed, smacking his back affectionately, and Kiba could see the embarrassment on Sanae’s face, the nature of the Inuzuka still making him flush, something that he was likely not comfortable with, only having married into the family 2 years ago.
“Get to it, then,” Isamu added, and they both let out a howl of laughter, while Sanae just stared into his cup, a sheepish smile on his face.
“Who the fuck-Oh shit, my bad,” Ashi started in a louder voice, before catching herself, glancing over at Kiba, alarmed.
"I already know those words," Kiba chimed in. "I'm not a kid anymore, please."
"Your mom better not catch you swearing," Ashi said quickly. She cleared her throat, continued evenly. “And besides, who's going to have more kids? Not me.”
“It’s not worth it, trust me. " Another voice, rougher and higher spoke from the entrance, drawing Kiba's attention. There stood his mother, with her green chunin vest open revealing the black shirt she wore underneath, the red swirl patch on the side. She had a square, white gauze along the side of her jaw, the lipstick she left with this morning wiped off and leaving a wine coloured stain on her lips. “Stick to a max of two kids, if you can.”
“Took you long enough, Tsume!” Gaku exclaimed as Tsume approached him, gripping her arm affectionately. “We can finally crack open the sake!”
“What, you guys didn’t give it to them, yet?” Tsume glanced over to Hana, noticing Akita in her arms and giving her a quick pat on the head. “What, do we not have any?”
“It’s not even that, we were waiting for more people to arrive,” Hana said, glancing over to Kiba. “Kiba! Can you go to the basement and pull out the cases?”
“Hana, let the boy rest, he’s been running around, serving everyone tea,” Fuuko said.
“Is that right,” Tsume said curiously, glancing over at Kiba, seeming a bit proud. “Well, you can do this last thing, and then you’re off the hook.”
“Seriously?” Kiba asked, and Tsume nodded, crossing her arms.
“Well, yeah, maybe this once,” Tsume said with a smirk. “You passed your test, and you helped Hana out. It’s fine- I’ll go get the alcohol. What do you all want?”
Tsume’s voice yelled into the room, and the clansmen yelled out their requests; sake, beers, umeshu, you name it. They likely had it in their basement, tucked away behind a closet, waiting to be opened whenever they had family over or whenever Tsume was in a good mood. The door was always locked, the key always staying in a specific place in the cupboard, and while the key was accessible, Kiba never dared to touch it.
Kiba had tried to sneak into this closet once, when Tsume was sleeping on the couch, drunk and sound asleep from what Kiba could see, and Hana was nowhere to be seen in the house. He saw the key, gleaming on the coffee table, beckoning to come and pick it up, and he put his skills to the test - he was able to get the key soundlessly, and made his way down the stairs, the closet glowing at the end of the basement. He was so close, so close to opening the door, but the click from the lock unlocking made him hear footsteps on the floor above, and in a panic, Kiba escaped through the basement window, making his way back into the living room through the backyard. He quickly put the key back in place, Tsume disappearing from the couch and, he assumed, making her way to the basement, sniffing him out, and left it back where she had left it.
Finally! Kiba held back his sigh of relief as he went towards the table. I can eat!!!
“By the way, look what I brought with me,” Tsume pointed a thumb back behind her, and there was a man, younger than Tsume with less white hair running through his black hair, the red Inuzuka marks on his cheeks, and visible eyebags on his tanned face, leaning against the door frame. “Where’s Ken and Kega? Tell ‘em daddy’s home.”
“Please, wherever they are, leave them alone,” the man sighed, his voice low and tired, as he stood back up, walking towards an empty chair that sat nearby the couches, having been moved from the dining table. Tsume laughed as she made her way to the basement to retrieve the alcohol, Kuromaru following her quickly behind. The man groaned as he took a seat, leaning back into the cushion.
“Tadao, here,” Tosa said, gesturing towards himself as he stood up from his seat beside Ashi. “Sit here.”
“Nah, I’m good, thanks,” Tadao said, but even Kiba could tell from the way he shuffled side to side, he was trying to get comfortable on the chair.
“Now,” Tosa pressed, his voice, always grave, more demanding. “After all you did to track the payload, you need more support than me.”
After a moment, Tadao used an arm - his left arm - to push off the chair, the sleeve from his other arm swinging and swaying with each step, empty. Tosa took himself towards the side where Haya sat, leaning on the arm rest.
“Where’s the wife?” Hachi asked Tadao as he sat down, and he shook his head.
“Ah, you know. The Third is always working the Intelligence Unit to the ground nowadays,” Tadao said, flicking his left hand slightly, as he stretched his neck side to side, grunting slightly. “Kimi said she’ll come by as soon as she can, don’t you worry.”
“You should really see a massage therapist,” Ashi said, shuffling to give him more room. “You know it’s covered, right?”
“I don’t need that,” Tadao said. “Just get one of my kids to stand on my back for a bit and I’ll be fine.”
“Nice exploitation of their tiny feet,” Ashi said, shaking her head.
Tsume returned with a few long, white bottles in her hand, Kuromaru carrying a case of beers by it’s handle with his mouth. “Kiba, one more thing you gotta do- fetch the cups.”
“No problem,” Kiba replied, quickly going into the kitchen, getting all the sake cups, small white cups the size of a palm, and the longer beer glasses he could carry in his hands.
This was it. As always, when it comes to drinking Tsume is the first one to start the drinks and the last one finishing all of them. With his luck, since this was a bigger than usual celebration for their clan, hopefully his mom will get piss drunk within the next hour.
Kiba caught a glimpse of the sky through the sliding door, the blue of the daylight swapped with a deep pink and purple blend. The moon and stars should start showing any moment now- and he wanted to do what he wanted to do before it got too deep into the night.
That’d be more romantic, maybe, Kiba thought mindlessly as he placed the cups on the coffee table, the Inuzukas who wanted to drink - most of them, except for Tadao - gathered around, as Tsume poured the first bottle of sake, the clear liquid filling up the cup cleanly.
“Hey, Kiba!” Gaku said, gesturing for him to come closer. Kiba obeyed, and Gaku raised his cup towards him. “Here! Drink!”
“Uh-” Kiba hesitated immediately, and from the corner of his eyes, he watched closely as Tsume and Hana turned their attention to him.
“Uncle Gaku!” Hana exclaimed. “He’s underage!”
“Ah, c’mon Hana! I’m not offering him the whole drink,” Gaku said. “The boy’s a man now! A full fledged ninja, serving the good ol’ Leaf! You had a bit too, when you graduated!”
“Yeah, champagne, not sake!” Hana replied, and Gaku glanced over to Tsume.
“Well, Tsume? You gonna stop the boy?” Tsume looked at Kiba, who quickly glanced away, not wanting to move unless he got his mother’s okay. Gods knows what her mood was like today, but Kiba wanted to play it safe without getting an earful.
“Let the pup try,” Tsume said, curiously. “He’s not gonna take more than a sip anyways.”
“Alright!” Gaku put the cup in Kiba’s hands, Kiba stumbling to keep the cup steady in his hand, the liquid sloshing out slightly. “A toast to Kiba - the newest Inuzuka to join the Leaf forces and serve the Village! From here on out, you’re no longer a boy, but a full-fledged man! Kanpai!”
“Kanpai!”
“Kanpai,” Kiba mumbled, lifting his cup up towards them as they cheered and whooped, watching as Kiba put the cup to his lip. He hesitated slightly, the smell much stronger in his nostrils, and he could make out every element in this liquid, every fermented grain of rice that went into it. He quickly pursed his lips and sipped… before quickly coughing, the liquid burning as it went down his throat into his stomach. His chest immediately felt warm, a weird warmth he hasn’t felt before, but the taste was both sweet and bitter, if that was even possible.
“Well, now we know he hasn’t been drinking,” Tsume laughed as Kiba quickly gave the drink back to Gaku, who gave his back some hard taps.
“Of course, he knows you’ll give him a run for his life,” Haya cackled after downing her drink.
“You bet I would,” Tsume stated proudly, as she picked up the same bottle again. “C’mon, c’mon, let’s drink some more!”
“Uh, Mom, you should slow down,” Hana said cautiously, and Tsume gave a wave of her hand.
“It’s time to celebrate, Hana! Come here, grab something to drink,” Tsume said, as she filled up the cups once again, while chatter took over, as it always does in an Inuzuka household.
Hana just sighed in response, and came towards the side of the living room, where at this point, Kuromaru had brought more drinks by himself. She squatted down beside him, and asked, “You got anything light?”
“No ma’am, you would have to go out and buy it yourself,” Kuromaru spoke, his lips forming the words in their human language.
“Figures,” Hana said, as she stood up. “And we don’t have any chasers...Kiba. You want to go to get me some soda.”
“Are you asking me or telling me?” Kiba said as he watched Hana go to the front, pulling open the closet and rummaging through the coats that hung.
“Both,” Hana said plainly. “Just get me one of those 1 litre sodas. Here.”
Hana lifted her hand, producing a paper rectangle, a 500 ryo. Kiba grimaced.
“Don’t you have a 200? It doesn’t cost that much for sodas,” Kiba replied, and Hana just smiled.
“Use the rest of the money for whatever you want,” Hana replied. She then placed both hands on her hips, giving a quirk of her eyebrow. “Don’t stay out too late, alright? And no funny business either.”
“Wha- What’s that supposed to mean?!” Kiba exclaimed, feeling sweat starting to form on the nape of his neck, the tips of his ears heating up, watching carefully as Hana passed him.
“I said what I said,” Hana said with a shrug, and gave him a slight wave of a ‘see ya’, before returning back to the living room, the noise from the chattering and yelling never diminishing despite the wall that separated the room and the hallway.
“Alright, Akamaru,” Kiba whispered, despite knowing that there was no way his mother or anyone could even hear him from the amount of noise they were making. “Let’s hurry up.”
“Master! Where are we going?” Akamaru barked as Kiba slipped into his sandals, zipping up and strapping them in. Kiba didn’t reply, grabbing a beige hoodie from inside the closet, instead opening the door, running outside, Akamaru hot on his heels.
---------------
Kiba walked briskly through the main streets of Konoha, the winter night darkening the sky immediately, the streetlights along the sides illuminating the roads in a yellow hue. The streets were still bustling with folks making their way home from a long day’s work, shinobi and civilians alike on walking along the path with coworkers, friends, and families, some on their way home from work, other on their way to work, some on their way to their shifts,
The night was cool. Or, as cool as it could be for a January in Konoha. The wind provided most of the chills, and Kiba was happy he had the forethought to grab a hoodie on the way on. There was the scent of warm foods, mostly soup based items, he noted; ramen, oden, sukiyaki, nabe… All foods that you would enjoy on a cold winter night such as this. He inhaled sharply, the coolness of the air, filling his lungs, cooling his warm body, easing his heart that was beating loudly.
He glanced down to Akamaru, trotting alongside him, admiring the stores that lined up along the street. The lights from the stores casted shadows on the road, shaped in the window panel that were there.
The stores didn’t close for a few more hours, he knew, and this gave him the opportunity to take a quick trip towards the northern part of the village, tucked away near the land where the forestry laid outside of the training ground boundaries.
His hands were stuffed into the pocket in the front of his hoodie, fiddling with the headband and wallet inside.
Should he wear the headband? Well, there were no regulations about wearing it off-duty, clearly, since his mother would come home in the middle of the night still wearing it around her arm while drunk with her colleagues. But would he seem like a douche if he did? But he worked hard to pass that test, so maybe he does deserve to wear it...but no, he didn’t want to seem like a show-off just yet.
Hmm...Should he buy something before seeing her?
Nah, that'd be too much. But, then again, if he was going to tell her...how he felt...wouldn't it be better to woo her beforehand?
Should he buy a flower or something? Chocolates? Girls like that type of stuff, right? Akane might try to say she’s different from the other girls in their class, but Kiba knew that she enjoyed those types of things. What do guys his age typically do when they confess to a girl?
Maybe he should’ve asked Hana about this? He didn’t tell anyone about him meeting up with Akane to confess...he didn’t tell Itsuki, nor Natsuo...he didn’t even tell Akamaru, and right now the pup probably thought they were just going on a little stroll around town. Hana might have provided some information about what girls like and whatever...but no, he can’t tell Hana, because he knew for a fact that when it came to matters like this, Hana would tell Tsume.
And Tsume was adamant about Kiba staying focused on being a shinobi, telling him not to waste time on stupid things that would just waste his time in the long run.
But what does Tsume know about love anyways?
He’s not the one who chased his dad away.
Nah, I don’t think she cares that much, Kiba thought as he continued to make his way up the street, the road now sloping upwards in a hill. Konoha was unique in its layout- built near a tall mount, the streets are sloped and slanted in different ways, leftovers of the land before the Village had even installed the roads and buildings they had today. It made for one hell of a trip, though, and oftentimes the villagers would have to determine a route around the village that would enable more flat roads, especially for merchants that travel into the village on a delivery.
There were no shortcuts where Kiba was heading, though. He headed to the forest that was not used for training, a forest reserved for those who work in woodwork, to the Moritaka residence, a civilian family that had a history of producing the top master carpenters for the village.
The Moritaka handled a portion of wood production for Konoha to use and export, chopping down wood, processing them into lumber, and creating structures with it. The Konoha cemetery recently had to rebuild the torii of the entrance, rainfall from previous years having rotted through into the wood, and the Moritaka were responsible, from what Akane had told him with pride.
Akane kind of had her future already made for her, kind of like how Kiba already had one as a shinobi. She didn’t have to become a shinobi, and it’s not like being a shinobi was any less hard, especially physically. At least, as a carpenter, you don’t need to use chakra either, something else that made being a shinobi incredibly exhausting. And it wasn’t like Akane would have to pick up carpentry herself- she could just handle the business aspect of their company, and Kiba knew that she preferred sitting at a desk working on numbers more than using her hands.
Doesn’t matter, though, Kiba thought as he ventured deeper down a street, away from the main streets and into a path, the streetlights much further apart from one another, leaving spots that were darker. The path started to merge into a heavily forested area, lines of trees on both sides, segmented from the path with stone. The night sky could be seen better without the yellow of the lights, and he can see the moon starting to rise, a crescent. I’m a Genin and she’s…
Kiba hoped that Akane’s team passed for more reasons than just seeing Akane at work. Itsuki, Natsuo...they were his friends too, and while he was closer to the first than the latter, he had to have something familiar around him, people that he actually liked and grew up with in the same field, to keep him grounded and...well…
Comfortable.
Kiba soon noticed the path diverging, and he took the path that led deeper, where most of the trees stood haphazardly, thicker and taller in size compared to the trees he had just passed by. The scent differed as well - there were more evergreens here, a new variety of forestry that was always further away from the village. Further down, he could see a wooden house that stood, wide and tall, a singular floor, classical and traditional in nature, minka-esque but modern. The roof, rather than being tiled, was thatched. The lights were on, lighting up the surrounding area, and the front light was on as well, the front door opened wide. As he got closer, he saw a figure coming out, their long hair swaying as they held a tiny brush with an inkpot cradled in their palm, and a scroll on the other hand along with a lantern.
Kiba stopped in his tracks, and his once steady heart started to beat frantically. He was further away from any light source, enveloped in the darkness in between, and he knew that the person couldn’t see him from where he stood. The person started to make their way to the side of the house, towards the back, deeper into the forest.
Maybe he should wait before confessing. No! He told himself that when he graduated from the Academy, he would ask her out! He can’t be a wuss and back off right now! What kind of man does that?
“Akane!”
He called out to her without putting much thought, his voice cracking in between, and now he could feel a wave of embarrassment wash over him. Gods, when will his voice stop cracking?!
Akane stopped in her tracks, turning around to look directly at Kiba. Kiba gulped, clenching his hands into fists, taking a sharp breath to calm his nerves. He walked up to Akane, and Kiba was taken aback by what he saw - Akane had square gauze taped on the side of her cheek, scratches and redness evidence along her nose and her jaws. She still wore the outfit that she had worn the other day, but Kiba could see how the edges frayed, and she was no longer wearing her sandals with the heels, but her home loafers. She didn’t look bad, but she definitely looked like she'd been in a fight; clearly, from the test they had to take in order to become Genins.
“Kiba,” Akane said, her voice a bit lower than normal, a bit more isolated and distant. She must have noticed how Kiba was staring at the gauze on her cheek, and she quickly raised a hand towards it, attempting to cover it with her hand. Akamaru gave a light bark in greeting, drawing her attention towards the small dog. “And Akamaru...What...are you guys doing here?”
“Uh,” Kiba started, returning his glance back at her eyes, clearing his throat. “Uh, well..you said you wanted to meet up, remember? After our first day…”
“Oh,” Akane said slowly, hesitantly, twirling a strand of her purple hair, before she nodded. “Yeah, I forgot about that. My bad. I got home a few hours ago and...My mom wanted me to check the warehouse for a last inventory check.”
“It’s okay,” Kiba said evenly. “You weren’t expecting it either, right? You know...the test.”
He could see Akane’s eyebrows twitching inwards when he said ‘test’, the edge of her lips pulling downwards, into a slight grimace. She stopped herself before she could frown further, instead shaking her head. “Yeah. Took us all by surprise. Did you...see the guys before coming here?”
“Nah, I couldn’t, I was stuck at home with my family,” Kiba sighed. “I wanted to come see you as soon as I can.”
To this, Akane glanced away, but her grimace never left her face. “I see…”
“Do you want me to walk you to the warehouse,” Kiba suddenly said, gesturing towards the lantern in her hand. “I can take that. You’re carrying a lot already.”
Akane stared at him for a moment, looking like she was thinking. She then let out a slight breath, and held up the lantern towards him, before continuing in a much softer tone, “Sure. Don’t hog it. I know how scared you are of the dark.”
“Pft, me? Scared? I ain’t scared of anything,” Kiba chuckled as he took the lantern. Their hands brushed against each other. “Akamaru can protect us, isn’t that right, boy?”
“Yessir! Just leave it to me,” Akamaru barked, as he bounced his way in front of them, ready to walk once they started. Kiba glanced over at Akane, who now had a small smile on her face as she watched Akamaru.
They walked the rest of the way to the warehouse in silence, neither of them starting the conversation. Kiba was too preoccupied about what to say next...when should he confess? Now or later? Should he ask her about her day? Or maybe he should ask about the test...no, no, that’d be too straightforward. But he had another concern too that threw a wrench in what he thought was supposed to be happening...Akane was being unusually quiet and low, and very distant. He didn’t even need to hear her say it - she had an atmosphere around her that was unwelcoming, almost shut off. What should he say? What can he say-
“Let’s sit for a bit,” Akane suddenly spoke, gesturing towards the log that laid in front of the warehouse entrance, the top part cut through to create a flat surface. Kiba immediately sat down, thankful she said something first. Akane sat beside him, a little distance between them. Akamaru hopped on the bench, beside Akane, and Akane picked him up, putting him on her lap, as she patted his soft fur gently.
“How was the test for your team?” Akane asked, never looking at Kiba, keeping her eyes on Akamaru, who now laid on her lap, his eyes closed as her fingers ran through his fur.
“Terrible,” Kiba groaned, using his hands to lean back a bit on the surface. “Our sensei had the brilliant idea of capturing the flag thing with her headband, but the only thing is, she knows how to use genjutsu!”
“Yeah…”
“And we spent hours and hours just trying to find her by ourselves! She put me in a genjutsu and everything, it was so bad,” Kiba laughed. “The Academy didn’t teach us shit, but luckily I remembered what Iruka-sensei taught us with Kai, and I was able to get out...but we ended up with an hour left! So we had to team up and we managed together.”
To this, Akane looked up towards Kiba.
“We?”
“Well, yeah...Hinata and Shino,” Kiba continued, his voice a bit lower, reflecting on what had happened. “Shino made this whole plan for all of us to get the headband and we all had to...basically work together to get it.”
“For real?” Akane asked, quirking her head to the side, her bangs falling to frame her face. The moonlight looked nice against her face. She continued with a bit of a laugh, “Even with that creepy bug fanatic?”
“You know, I didn’t think I would ever get along with them,” Kiba shook his head. “But we did and...well...we got the headband in the end…”
Without each other, I don’t think we would have got it.
“So that means…” Akane mumbled, and Kiba knew this was the perfect time to tell her. He brought out his headband from his hoodie pocket, the Konoha leaf gleaming underneath the white moonlight, and he held it between them.
“Yeah,” Kiba said. “I’m officially a shinobi now.”
Kiba expected Akane to smile. He expected her to be her cheerful self immediately, grabbing him by the arm like she usually did, and congratulate him on becoming a shinobi. But instead, between the whiteness of the moon and orange of the lantern, he could see Akane’s eyes widening, her smirk dropping quickly as she stared at the headband. Her hand froze on Akamaru, no longer moving.
There was a silence that fell between them. Kiba didn’t know what to say. He didn’t know what else to say. He was expecting her to have a better reaction- he did just pass a very gruelling test, the hardest one they ever had to take in their many years of training.
And yet...there wasn’t a sign of anything from Akane.
“So what about you,” Kiba broke the silence, his voice slightly hoarse.
“...” Akane looked away, staring straight at the ground, not saying anything.
“...Akane?”
“...We…” She paused quickly, hesitantly, her voice cracking. She gave Kiba a side glance, not being able to face him. “We...we failed…”
The air froze around them, the silence filled with the wind whipping past them, howling. Kiba stared at her, waiting for her to say “joking!” or “sike!”, but Akane just went back to staring at the ground, saying nothing more.
“Wha-” Kiba started, processing what he just heard. They...failed? How was that possible?
“Our sensei thought that...since we didn’t work together during our test...he failed all of us…” Akane explained. “He said that if we wanted to even think about becoming shinobi that we should...take it more seriously and go back to the Academy or just quit while we’re at it. Can you believe it?”
Harsh, Kiba thought, not knowing what to say. Console her? Say everything is going to be alright? She might get mad at him for saying that, she doesn’t like it whenever he is like that with her...
"Well...I guess there's always next year," Kiba replied, though he wasn’t even sure. Akane didn't look his way. "Right? You're gonna take the test again next year?"
Another uncomfortable silence fell between them, and Kiba could feel his throat running dry. The blood in his veins had been pumping non-stop, and it was making his heart beat louder, audible to his own ears, and the silence did not help the situation at all.
“Seriously? That’s all you have to say?” Akane asked, her voice sharper than before.
“W-what?” Kiba asked, and Akane scoffed.
"Forget about it. I'm gonna take the year off," Akane finally said. "Just gonna work for the family business as I figure some stuff out."
Kiba couldn’t stop himself from frowning.
"What? You can't give up now,” Kiba said, his voice a bit steadier, a bit more passionate in his tone. “We studied and trained super hard all these years just to get here! If you miss out on a year, you’ll have to catch up for another year! And you guys know better now...you can retake the test and pass-"
"Yeah, well, easy for you to say all that," Akane scoffed. "You're the one with the headband."
He was immediately taken aback. What was her problem? He was only trying to help; she was the one who wanted to be a ninja too...right?
And what’s going to happen to them if Kiba and Akane’s paths diverge here? Kiba would be a shinobi, while Akane stayed behind...what would happen between them...
"Well-"
"Is that all you wanted to talk about?" Akane asked suddenly as she got up. Akamaru quickly hopped off her lap, onto the ground, looking at her confused. "I have to finish logging in the inventory."
"Oh," Kiba said slowly, standing up immediately. "Uh...yeah… I guess I'll see you later, Akane?"
"Yeah...see you around."
Akane walked into the warehouse without another word, lantern in hand, never looking back as she closed the door behind her, leaving it slightly open. Kiba stood there, staring at the door, not knowing what to do, a vortex of emotions swirling deep in his chest. He was finding it hard to breathe.
He never got to confess but...he felt like he was basically being rejected, but not romantically.
He was now a shinobi. And she is, well... a civilian. And would likely continue to be so.
He was now shut out from her life.
And he felt his chest squeeze slightly, his breath increasing as he slowly walked away from the door Akane had closed. Is this what rejection feels like? Or is this what it feels like when a bond you held dear to you is severed…
I guess… I’ll never know, Kiba thought, continuing down the path he had walked on, without a second glance back.

How do you think Ginoza would react to Akane and Shinya being in a relationship?
Honestly, I think the reaction Gino would have is hard to say, but here’s my attempt at an answer.
On one hand, I do think he would be genuinely happy for the both of them. Gino knows better than anyone how much each of them have gone through in the past, and to see them find happiness or fulfillment in a healthy, committed relationship would make him happy too. Maybe it would take a bit of time for Gino to feel this way (because of what else I’m about to say), but I do think whatever worries he has would fade with time and he would come to be happy for them, because at the end of the day he respects and trusts Akane wholeheartedly to do what’s best for her.
That being said, I think Ginoza would have some apprehension on Akane’s behalf in that he doesn’t trust Kogami to not hurt her again. Of course Gino respects Akane’s ability to make decisions without clouded judgment, but it goes without saying that he’s aware Kogami is somewhat of a weakness to her, so I think he would worry that she’s misplacing her trust and faith in him by starting a relationship with Ko, because again, Gino doesn’t trust him to not hurt her. I’m not 100% sure where their friendship stands in canon as of S3/FI, but whether they’re good friends again or merely coworkers acting civil with one another, I think Gino would have reservations with trusting that Kogami will always be around in the future. He left once, and who’s to say he won’t do it again?
I think he’d respect Akane’s decision, because she is obviously a capable adult who makes rational decisions and her life is hers to do what she wants with it, but due to his protectiveness over her, I think Gino would be pissed at Ko and confront him about it. Not in a “I’m going to get them to break up because I don’t agree with this” sort of way, but in a “I told you to stay away from her, to stop causing her pain, but if you’re going to do this then you better not break her heart again or I’m going to break you” sort of way. At least that’s how I and my shameless self-indulgence for everyone being absolutely whipped for Akane would like for it to go, personally.
At the very least, I think it’s necessary that Gino and Ko would have a conversation about Akane upon the two entering a relationship where Gino addresses his apprehensions. The current standing of their friendship when this conversation happens, to me, would determine how civil it goes.
So I guess the point I’m trying to make is that ultimately, Ginoza’s initial reaction to Akane and Kogami being in a relationship depends on his personal relationship with Kogami and how it’s progressed off-screen since Ko returned to Japan. Personally I don’t think Gino resents him in any way, but also I don’t think he’d be capable of placing a deep, unconditional trust in Ko again until Gino can be sure he isn’t going to leave again. Us shinkane shippers love to talk about how it hurt Akane when Ko left, but I don’t think we talk nearly enough about how it hurt Ginoza just as much, if not more. It’s something the two of them are going to have to address and talk about at some point if they want to move forward as friends (with healthy communication, as friends should have) upon Ko’s return.
If they’ve talked through some heavy stuff one on one and consider each other good friends again, I think Gino’s apprehensions about a shinkane relationship would be much more muted and more civilly discussed with Ko, or possibly nonexistent entirely. If this is the case, I think Gino would have a positive reaction to their relationship, where he’s happy for them and maybe feels like he, as an outsider, got to witness something amazing in the making for years and is relieved to see them finally come together.
But if Gino and Ko haven’t yet talked through the heavy stuff by the time Ko and Akane start a relationship, they will when Gino confronts him, and the conversation probably wouldn’t go smooth-sailing. But if this is the case, like I said before, Gino would accept their decision in the end regardless of his lack of trust in Kogami, because he knows Akane trusts him, and because it isn’t his decision. His reaction might be rocky at the start but I think he’d warm up to it in time, because if they’re happy, then he’s happy, and that’s all that really matters.
That’s a super long-winded way of saying I think he’d be happy for them, with the possibility of some conversation obstacles and over-protectiveness getting in the way, but thank you for the question! (I have plans to write about this idea later on in Gravity and this was a nice exercise with sorting out my thoughts on the matter, so much appreciated!!)

。o°✥✤✣ ✣✤✥°o。
Dear Kuroo,
If you’re reading this, I’ll be gone, and I’ll be finally fulfilling your wish for me to use your first name
I wish I had kissed you that night on the dorm roof, you know?
The wind whipped around the two of them, biting into their coats and making Tetsurou’s hair even messier, if the bedhead gods would even allow that. Kenma wheezed like a broken record as he trudged up the last few steps, groaning as he collapsed next to Tetsurou on the ice-cold concrete, breath coming out in short, panting puffs.
“Why are we here, Kuroo?” he asked tiredly.
“Kenma, look! We can see the entire city from here! I come up here to think sometimes, or when I can’t sleep.” Tetsurou exclaimed.
As Kenma sat up from his prone position on the floor, he caught sight of the twinkling lights of Tokyo. It truly was beautiful, like jewels spilling out of a child’s toy box and catching on an ethereal light millions of kilometers away.
Tetsurou turned to look at Kenma, and the slight movement caused a bit of air to breeze through Kenma’s hair. He realized that they were oh-so-close, close enough that he thought he could count the individual eyelashes, as numerous as the stars, close enough that he could lean in and…
Kenma turned away, and for a moment, Tetsurou’s heart dropped. But then, Kenma’s soft voice filled the air.
“Not like this, Kuroo.”
Tetsurou backed up. For Kenma, he would wait forever.
He didn’t know how literal that would become.
I’m sorry I’m so selfish. I wish I could’ve let you go, let you move on, but I have so many things I wish I could’ve said to you.
Do you know that the day I knew I was in love with you,  it wasn’t anything special? I know that I always say that I want something “interesting” and that boring isn’t for me, but that day, we were doing the most mundane things.
It was the time we binged the horror movies and you were screaming the entire time. Do you remember? Do you remember how I held your hand, even though I was tired? Do you remember how I ignored my parent’s calls?
Do you remember how you smiled at me?
Tetsurou plopped down on the couch. “KYANMAAAAAA!” he called into the kitchen, where the bleached-hair male was making popcorn for their horror movie night. “It’s about to start, come on!”
From the other room, Kenma sighed. “Kuroo, you’re the one who insisted that we ‘had to have’ popcorn for horror movie night,” he said as he walked into the room carrying an overflowing bowl of said snack.
Without replying, Tetsurou grabbed an overflowing handful of popcorn and stuffed it into his mouth. Kenma sniffed. “Have some manners and stop eating like a 19th century barbarian, won’t you?”
Tetsurou rolled his eyes and patted the spot next to him. “Come on, Kenma! I even got your favorite blanket.” Kenma reluctantly sat down next to him, closer than he probably should have if he had wanted to keep his distance.
As the movie progressed, Tetsurou got increasingly louder and closer to Kenma, ending up clutching Kenma’s arm as a clown jumped out of nowhere and blood sprayed all over the screen. Suddenly, the suspenseful atmosphere was broken by the insistent ringing of Kenma’s phone. Kenma glanced at the screen, then put it on silent.
Tetsurou peeked at the device. “Hey, aren’t those your parents? Don’t you have to pick it up?”
“Nah.” Kenma replied shortly.
Tetsurou’s face broke out in a radiant smile, one that was genuine and looked like warm honey and bright days laying in sunflower fields.
“You know you looooove me, Kenma!”
He hoped there was some truth behind those words.
I’m grateful to the universe for pulling us together, even though sometimes I wish they hadn’t.
If we had never met that day in lab, I wouldn’t have stayed so long and let myself be broken more.
And you wouldn’t be hurting now.
I’m sorry, Tetsurou.
Tetsurou’s ears perked up as he heard an emphatic curse word filled his ears. Oya? What was this? He glanced over and caught sight of a boy with bleached hair and dark roots growing out shaking his hand. Oh wow, cute. Wait, what?
Tetsurou knew he was bisexual, but he’d never had this reaction so soon after just seeing someone for the first time. Whatever. The boy probably needed help anyways, and Tetsurou was just this kind.
He sidled up next to him. “Need some help?” he asked.
The boy glanced up at him in shock and actually hissed. “I’m doing fine just the way I am.”
Tetsurou put his hands up in a gesture of surrender, “Hey, just offering. Also, that isn't sodium. Kuroo Tetsurou, by the way.”
In the end, Tetsurou ended up helping Kenma the entire class, even through the smaller boy’s (half-hearted) protests.
He also figured out why Kenma intrigued him so much.
Hey, don’t beat yourself up for this, okay? It was inevitable.
You helped me so much, Tetsurou. Even though it hurt to stay for so long, I also saw so many beautiful things with you. Thanks to you, I was happy before I had to leave.
If you’re still not convinced, do you remember that day when Akane wouldn’t stop trying to touch me?
That was just one of so many times you saved me, Tetsurou.
Tetsurou ran after Kenma, calling his name (softly, he knew Kenma could be set off by noises sometimes). There was a girl in Kenma’s group in Business Management class, and she couldn’t seem to take a hint, always trying to toss an arm around his shoulders or tug him somewhere.
(Tetsurou did all that, but he knew that if Kenma actually didn’t want him to, he’d know by now.)
He found the smaller boy crouched in an empty classroom, arms over his head. “Hey, hey, Kenma. It’s okay. She’s gone now.” he said gently, kneeling down next to him.
“Can I touch you?” Tetsurou asked tentatively.
When he got no response, just a blank stare and tears running down Kenma’s face, Tetsurou sat down next to him, leaving a careful distance between the two of them.
“You know, I saw this new game at the electronics store the other day.” he said, trying to distract Kenma. “I think it’s the newest version of Mario Kart? If you want to, we can go pick it up this Friday then spend the entire Saturday playing.”
Still no response. Kuroo tried another tactic.
“I’ll buy you apple pie…” he attempted bribing.
“K-Kuroo?” came a muffled, broken voice next to him.
“Yes, kitten?” Kuroo asked, immediately attentive.
“Can you just… hold me?”
“Of course.”
That day, Tetsurou resolved to never let Kenma face anything alone again.
I told my parents about you. We both know how well that went. There’s a box of things from my childhood that I want you to have. They’ll mail it to your dorm.
There are so many things I wish that we could have done together that we never will. The first of those is that I wish I could have brought you home to my parents, but that’s not possible.
Did I ever tell you what they said that day?
Tetsurou paused outside of Kenma’s dorm room, apple pie in hand. He hadn’t dropped by in a week - finals were a bitch - and had planned to surprise Kenma with some of his favorite dessert as an apology for flaking on their weekly horror movie night.
The sound of his name paused Tetsurou in his tracks.
“Mom, I swear, Kuroo-san isn’t like that - and even if it was, it’s got nothing to do with you.”
“M- Oh, Dad. Dad ! Uh-huh.”
“I’ve told you before, hanging out with a bisexual person who I might like will not turn me any gayer.”
“Mom, please, you’ll like him, he’s nice, has a great sense of humor - he’ll talk volleyball with Dad, Mom, can you please just try to listen?”
The sound of a phone hitting a wall.
Even though we never got to be together, thank you for the memories, Tetsu.
I hope you didn’t have to see me in the end.
Cold, so cold.
Why was his hand so cold?
Deft, agile, flying across a screen-
Alone.
Left alone, both searching for a way to pick the broken pieces up.
Why, why, why?
Why didn’t you tell me?
Why didn’t you let me help?
Why now?
Why, why, why?
Why wasn’t I enough?
Because I love you, so much that I know that you deserve someone who can give you all of themself, not the jagged edges and fragmented pieces that I would’ve handed over without a second thought if I had stayed.
One day, I hope we can meet again when I’m good enough for you.
I love you, Kuroo Tetsurou.
Kenma.
The two of them laid in a field of flowers, heads turned toward each other and bodies curled so that they looked like two sides of a heart, reaching for each other, yet with a gap that felt like a million light years separating them.
“Hey, Kuroo…”
“Yeah?”
“Nothing.”
I really tried.

Rin’s past is filled with twists, turns, death, and a freakshow that changed her soul forever.. care to hear? Give me a listen and let me tell you the tale of Rin Himura...
Rin was born into a middle class family in the countryside of Japan, in a small but quaint neighborhood. Her parents were young but loving, and they cared with all their heart about their little girl. She loved animals, however she didn’t have many friends because of her appearance. Being pale, having dark hair, and kinda creepy eyes frightened other children, but she didn’t mind. She had a few friends and her parents. Her quirk manifested when she was seven, as she had picked up a dead lizard that a neighbors cat had killed, and it had easily been dead for two days. Her parents were shocked but thrilled, neither of them had that quirk. Her parents told her that her quirk could save lives, like a doctor. She set her mind on becoming a doctor since then, and she wanted to save lives.
Rin’s quirk allowed her to raise and control the dead. Anything animal had died, she could bring them back using her quirk and control their every move, like a necromancer.
Rin kept growing and was quite an intelligent girl, but with a Macabre side, like her mother. Her mom had always liked creepy old fashioned things, like a Victorian horror story. That had rubbed off a lot on Rin, and she would read stories with her mom. Her mother collected that type of clothing but never wore it, in order to preserve it, she kept it in her closet high up where Rin couldn’t reach. When Rin reached the age of 12, her parents took her to a renaissance festival in order to get some new stuff for a Victorian style. Unfortunately, Rin got separated from them. Next thing she knew, she was yanked into a dark tent and knocked out.
A group of men kidnapped her based on her appearance, since she looked to be very creepy. The people who kidnapped her were circus people and wanted her for gain, the recent development of quirks from the past years has led to a rise in the freak show business again. It was more underground than it was before but it was still humiliating for anyone who was a part of it. When they found out about her quirk they were even more excited.
They made her show off her quirk in front of large audiences until it exhausted her, she’d pass out from the excess use of power, and get whipped when she would stop. She has scars all over her back now and that’s why she wears so much clothing. She had to overuse her quirk almost every day, and it caused her arm to start to rot away from excessive power use, a side effect of her quirk. She brought to life any animals, big or small, predator or prey. They even made her revive some of her fellow “freaks” and control them until their bodies started to smell too much.
For years she took it without a fight, and often nurtured those who were new, comforting them to the best of her ability. She even found herself a lover there, a girl with the ability to turn into a fiery bird of legend, a Phoenix. However, she died after having water thrown on her in her fire form, her body turning to nothing but smoke and steam. Rin carried on for 5 more years after her death, constantly having to smile at an audience that laughed and awed at her torture, and she dare not frown or try and fight, for the ring master had a gun pointed at her in the dark under the stands, and he would smile and point until Rin was done performing her revival act.
After 7 years, she decided it was enough. After being thrown into her cell and whipped on the back for the last time, she used a dead mouse to retrieve the keys and break her free. The rest of the staff and the ringmaster were putting on the other part of the show while she grabbed a gallon of gasoline and a match, walking around behind the dark stands where the audience sat and pouring the flammable liquid around it, she stepped outside the circle, lit the match, and dropped it.
She watched the tent burst into flames, creating an inescapable ring of Fire. It killed everyone in the audience. The rest of the staff and the “freaks” were able to escape the tent. She then used her power to bring to life all the freshly burned carcasses in the audience, having them attack the staff. They killed everyone and released the rest of the captives there, who ran free from their slavery. Rin found the ringmaster attempting to run with a charred leg, and ordered two of the undead audience members to seize him and bring him to her. He tried to shoot the zombies, but they couldn’t feel the pain, they were dead after all. She looked down at him, his fear filled eyes meeting hers. She grabbed his gun from the holster, and he watched helplessly as she cocked it, aiming it right between his eyes. He was shot dead on the spot, and Rin dropped her army of corpses, she herself dropping to the ground momentarily from exhaustion. She quickly stood up, remembering she was free. She made her way towards the city with quick strides.
The very first thing she did as she escaped was try and find her parents, she wasn’t super young so she remembered where her house was and how to get there. However, when she arrived at her house, it was abandoned. Boarded off and overgrown with the flower vines in the front yard. She went inside and her heart shattered with every glance, nothing had been taken, it was untouched. All the pictures were still up, there were still some dishes in the sink, and some of her toys were still on the floor. She went back into her room and nothing had changed, she stifled her tears as she looked around, her parents didn’t move a single thing after she disappeared. She quickly left, unable to control herself, and took a walk. She was walking along and ended up in the graveyard that her mom would take her to as a child, where her grandparents were buried. She kept contemplating what she should do, would and old neighbor recognize her? And would they tell her where her parents went? Would they even care? She stopped, walking up to her grandparents graves, seeing.. more stones. She look at the stones and started to shake.
Akane Himura
Kyo Himura
She dropped to her knees, whimpers escaping her lips, shaking violently and tears streaming down her face. She let out the loudest, most painful scream, and gripped the stone of her mother, all the blood in her face gone. They were dead, they were gone. Her mom and dad were gone.. forever. She’s sobbed and gripped the other stone, memories flashing through her head and her heart shattering. Between hiccups and coughs, she glanced at the third grave, her sobs abruptly stopping. With tears still streaming down her face, she read the final stone.
R I N  H I M U R A
Her name was on that stone. She was assumed dead.. she couldn’t have died, she knew her parents would keep searching for her no matter what. She looked at the dates, her sadness slowly turning into a blood red rage. She had been confirmed dead not but a month after her parents had passed. Connecting the dots, she knew the heroes had stopped searching. Her parents had died 2 years before that day, and she knew they would have kept looking. Her parents had pestered the heroes to keep searching, but they weren’t interested, it wasn’t flashy or cool to look for someone’s missing child. Rin bolted up, tears still clouding her eyes and rage clouding her judgement. She grazed the tops of each family tombstone, and stopped at hers. She kicked, and kicked, and kicked. That stone came loose with her force, and she used a hefty amount of strength to push it down the hill with her foot, her “death” was bullshit.
She stormed back into the house, grabbing her small locket necklace that she had as a child, and her mother’s ruby pendant that she would wear to formal occasions. The heroes would pay for what they did to her parents. They were restless in her graves, and she could feel it, they could never rest peacefully until they knew she was safe. Only now, Rin knew they wouldn’t be at peace until heroes were shown what happens when you leave a child in need.
She found an abandoned hotel and made it her home, she spruced it up with the money she had. And eventually used a small area as a place to meet people in mourning, usually rich families. They had money, and that’s what Rin needed to survive. She told them about her power but lied about it’s specific abilities, telling them they’d have ten minutes to talk to their late friend or family member one last time. She brought them to their burial sight, brought the corpse to life, and had the “zombie” kill them, she proceeded to take their money and have the corpse rebury itself into the ground, which was easy since it was recently buried. She used the money she stole to redecorate her home and get nicer clothing.
Rin saw the USJ attack on TV and was intrigued by the group who committed the crime, wondering what it would be like to fight in groups rather than on her own. She had always been a bit theatric with her attacks, but this was a level that almost fascinated iher. She decided to take a stab at something such as that. When she found out that the same class would be visiting a history museum, she sprung at the opportunity and attacked. She brought to life the skeletons of dinosaurs and other prehistoric skeletons. This was the first time she was shown publicly, all her cases she was involved with were stated as psychotic attacks by some sort of deranged murderer, never a larger conspiracy behind it nor different undead humans involved.
Luckily, Rin was smart, and made sure her face was never caught on camera, yet some student saw her face, however, her arm was never revealed. Giran and Rin were at a dinner while Giran was talking with another potential member. Of course that colleague dm didn’t work out, but Rin’s sharp ears overheard the conversation. She approached him and introduced herself. She was proper and shared some casual conversation, she spoke with him about the league in a hushed voice. She told him of her attack on TV and of the attacks on the others she had killed for money. He was intrigued by her, and she was taken to the bar where she was recruited by Shigaraki.
Her first time killing all of those people in the audience, even though they were all sick and twisted, it haunts her. She feels as if the blood on her hands has never washed off, another reason she almost always wears gloves. If you can tell, she never kills anyone herself, it’s always her undead minions who kill for her. She killed the people in the audience and the ringmaster, she feels little pity for her ringmaster, but it still shook her to her core how many people she killed that day, that blood was on her own hands.
But, something that comforts her is that she saved all the “freaks” at the show and gave them freedom. She doesn’t know where any of them are now, but she took care of them while they were there and set them free when she had the chance.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun Chapter 21: The Tea Party (Part 1)
Previously: we went on a very stressful and very emotional trip. We finally learned Hanako’s brother’s name: Tsukasa and he continued to unsettled me like he does every single time he appears. Mitsuba actually passed away, this time for good, it seemed and it made me tear up a bit ngl. After that, the chapter decided I hadn’t suffered enough so it punched me while I was down and showed us how Hanako feels about the existence of the dead as ghosts in general and how that reflects in his own sense of self. We also got another glimpse of the mermaid and she said some real ominous shit :)))) if anything happens to Nene istg :)))))) Sigh And last but not least, Natsuhiko went to see Nene at her classroom and I’m,,,,concerned,,,,
Now onto the next chapter!
Personal update for the 50 (holy shit?) of you that still follow this blog: Well…..hi there, it’s been a while ^^;; Looking back on it, quarantine really hit me like a bag of bricks and burned me out. It’s not the first time that has happened, and what it means to me is that I just can’t bring myself to consume new content; I might have loved it so far but my brain is like “nope, we’re not doing that today” and well, this time it happened for almost two months. Also, one of my cats went missing for a little over a week (he’s home now, thankfully) and that just added to the general distress I was feeling. But over the last week I actually wrote small fics for another fandom and it finally pushed me back into a creative state, so I went back to re-read the last couple of recaps I did for JSHK and it made me realise that I miss my babies and I really want to know where the story goes, so here I am c:
Ohhhh that’s right, we’re starting a new volume with this chapter! Our main trio is front and center and judging by the colorful pastries and the tea, it is a reference to the tea party that was alluded to in the preview of the last chapter. Also, I see the ropes are back again, but this time Kou also has some around him! Nene and Hanako seem to be tied together with pink, blue and yellow ropes, Nene and Kou seem to be tied together with an orange rope and both Hanako and Kou seem to have another rope each that it’s not connected to neither Nene nor each other. Hanako’s is red and considering the way in which we’ve seen him tied up before, I would guess this represents his connection to Tsukasa. Kou’s is pink and considering everything that just happened, could his rope represent his connection with Mitsuba? Like, I know he’s dead dead now and their actual friendship was short-lived but I would also like to think that even though he’s gone, his memory will live forever with Kou, hence the rope. But I’m speculating and I already went on a long enough tangent for the cover page so let’s move on.
The next color page has the main trio again as the central focus in what seems to be the inside of a place that has a clockwork-like mechanism. On the corners of the page we have who I assume will be important character during the following arc(s): Aoi, Akane, Yamabuki and Teru (the latter one worries me slightly ngl).
Ohhhh okay, the content page says that one of the arcs is called “the three clock keepers” so the art on that page now makes more sense.
Tumblr media
……….I really don’t trust him hhhhh please be careful, Nene, please don’t let your weakness for pretty boys cloud your judgement.
Ohhh it could be because of Nene’s dress and the bunny ears (and the twins) but the title page gives me strong Alice in Wonderland vibes. It’s a cute picture but Tsukasa is there and Nene is tearing up so I’m,,,concerned
Okay so Nene followed Natsuhiko outside and
Tumblr media
Are you reciting her your dating profile or something? also “call me Natsuhiko-senpai ♡” omfg he’s one of those, huh? Like, it could all be an act but he’s looking less and less threatening by the minute lol
Nene, bless her, has the common sense of asking him why he wanted to talk to her all of the sudden and he says it’s because “someone wants to meet her”. Gee, I wonder who that could be :)))))
Tumblr media
…………….oh, oh no. Nene, sweetie, I need you to run and to run fast because this boy is up to no good and you’re not gonna  like what’s gonna happen. (Edit note: also this brings up a question: how did the chaotic trio know that Nene turns into a fish when she touches water? Like, I know they had been keeping tracks on her and Hanako for some time, so maybe they found out that way? Oh, maybe they use the Mokke? Because the Mokke were there in Yako’s boundary when Hanako pushed Nene down the waterfall)
Hhhhhhh and to the surprise of no one, there’s Tsukasa here to make Nene’s day more difficult.
Tumblr media
asdasgdjash please do not make my daughter share the same fate as the puffer fish, she doesn’t deserve it (゚д゚;) (゚д゚;)
Nene fainted (can’t say I blame her jfc) and now she’s waking up in what seems to be the tea party and the floor is wet! so she thinks she could be on another boundary. Interesting, I wonder which number would this one be? Because the boundaries are assigned to the seven mysteries, right? So one of them should be in control of this place. Could Tsukasa be in control of this one? But that wouldn’t make much sense because he managed to get his “physical” form only recently, right? However, Hanako also spoke of a traitor that was changing rumors and we know that these three are responsible, so if they’re not the owners of the boundary maybe they somehow managed to manipulate the mystery that does control it? Oooor it could also be that there’s another boundary that managed to go under the radar and in turn the other mysteries don’t know about it.
Tumblr media
sjdgjjasd she’s so done with them lol I know I call them the chaotic trio but it’s really the chaotic duo + Sakura. I’m so curious about how this whole *gestures wildly towards them* arrangement came to be.
Ohhhh this great! So Sakura got everything under control and from her introduction to Nene we now know that she’s a third year and we have confirmation that she became Tsukasa’s assistant in the same way that Nene did, in exchange for a wish. B U T, again, that brings up even more questions because Tsukasa said that while Amane granted the wishes of the living, he granted the wishes of the dead. So like (⚆.⚆) what’s up with that?? Is she an exception? Is she dead? Another supernatural? Or, maybe, even though it should be impossible considering what we know so far, could her wish have something to do with her being ‘alive’ in the school right now? Mhmmmm…...suspicious.
Tumblr media
Okay but like, I actually really want to know how he fits in all of this because okay, Sakura and Tsukasa are linked together by the wish she made, but why is Natsuhiko here? Who is he? How did he end up working with these two?  He seems silly and completely whipped for Sakura, so maybe they knew each other before she made her “contract” with Tsukasa?  Hhhhh idk let’s keep reading.
Sakura says that she wanted to meet Nene because they’re in similar positions and she thought they could be good friends. And like, that’s a fair point…...but I don’t trust like that, no sir. Even if she didn’t want the boys to be so rough when they brought Nene here, the fact remains that they still kidnapped her so if this was just a friendly meeting, why would they need to do it in such a convoluted way?
Okay good, Nene is suspicious because of their methods and the amount of knowledge they have about her.
Tumblr media
………………...sigh, I shouldn’t be surprised but bby no please don’t trust them so easily. She’s venting to Sakura about Hanako’s unpredictable behaviour and Sakura says that she can empathize with most of her struggles while Tsukasa is sitting on top of her shoulders and wrapping his arms and legs around here...I can definitely see why she said he was cat-like because my cats do things like that when I’m sit down to write at my desk. But again, I know he’s technically a kid but I really need him to stop acting so cute because it unsettles me a lot.
Tumblr media
Even he can see the romantic chemistry between those two. Well, thinking about it, that’s probably why they dragged her here, because she’s important to Hanako.
Tumblr media
(;;⚆.⚆) NOPE, no, no thank you, I need you to back tf up please jfc
Nene snaps out of it and realizes that she let herself be drawn in by girl talk. She thankfully knows it was a stupid thing to do but she was just relieved and happy to have found someone who seems to understand what she’s going through, so I’ll cut her some slack. And she mentions that they don’t look like bad people but like I did, if they had innocent intentions, they wouldn’t have had to bring her by force.
Tumblr media
………………...I feel like I’ve mentioned this before but I really hate it when either of them does this fucking face, it’s so creepy >n< also, Nene, sweetie, once again I’m asking you to run, run far and don’t look back because that look doesn’t spell anything good, especially paired with Sakura’s scared/resinged look (which makes me think that maybe her own intentions had been more innocent that I had originally given her credit for)
Tumblr media
Hmmm. This is concerning; like, yes, Nene has to help Hanako with whatever he needs as his assistant as part of their deal and he does threaten to turn her into a fish when she pouts but I never got the feeling that it was malicious. On the other hand, Sakura’s wording (especially calling Tsukasa “Master” and saying she “can’t” disobey) and the look Tsukasa gave her make it seem like her punishment for not following his orders would be much more severe. hhhhh I really don’t like where this is going
Tumblr media
Σ(゚Д゚|||) Σ(゚Д゚|||) Σ(゚Д゚|||)  WHAT THE HELL THIS THAT THING WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK OH MY GO D
“We’re gonna have you disappear now” okay so, yeah, he’s doing this specifically to upset his brother. the room is fucking sinking though and omfg what even is this room?? is it really a boundary? Since this happened at this very moment, it looks like they do control it so my questions from before remain, the biggest one being “how”. Also I’ve just noticed that the eyes all over the place are very similar to the ones in the broadcasting room and now this tells me that those weren’t an artistic choice and that is terrifying.
Tumblr media
…………………..excuse me, w h a t??? why? hello??? “she’s like this sometimes” ????? Sakura what???? I have….so many questions, the main one being why do you let her treat you like this??
Tumblr media
……………………………………...oh…..y’know, I hate the term simp with a passion because I feel like it’s been memed to death but wow.
Hhhhhhhh it looks like she can’t stop sinking and that (and the fucking eyes) tell me that this is not normal water (since she would have turned into a fish already). She’s yelling out for Hanako and that’s how the chapter ends. I’m still :)))))) concerned :))))))))

Higurashi Month 2019, Day 20: Shaping Up
“You’re sure about this?”
“Very sure, Kei-chan.”
“How sure is sure?”
A sigh from the other end. “Kei-chan, Onee and I are working on our Mother’s Day surprise right this very minute. Don’t make me burn all our efforts.”
Keiichi scratched his cheek. “Right, yeah, s-sorry. Its just…you know, you’re the one who was most recently in the big city, so I thought you’d have the best idea of which books are hopping right now. I don’t know anything my mom doesn’t own already or has on order.”
“I’m telling you, this one is the bee’s knees. Do you need me to reassure you more, or are you cool?”
He looked down at the book in his lap. “Uh, yeah, I think I’m good…”
“Bye then.” Shion said briskly before he could continue with his vague notions of speech. “Tell your mom we said hi!”
“Will do, yeah.” Keiichi hung up, and looked at the wrapped novel sitting in his lap with trepidation.
How hard can this be?
“So, uh, mom…” Keiichi began nervously, holding the paper-wrapped book behind his back. “Being that its Mother’s Day and all that…I got you something.”
Aiko Maebara turned around, blinking a little in surprise. “Oh? Keiichi, you didn’t have to…”
“Yeah, well, I…” Keiichi pulled out the book and offered it to her shyly, scratching his cheek. “I know you like mystery novels and such…so I asked Shion which ones were really popping back in the big city right now, you know, since we aren’t in the thick of things anymore and she’s just left her boarding school…”
His mother flushed in surprise and pleasure, reverently taking the wrapped book from him and brushing a worshipful hand over the cover. “Keiichi! Why, thank you!”
He flushed himself as his mother wrapped her arms around him, hugging her son close. “You always were such a thoughtful boy.”
Keiichi smiled and laughed self-consciously, his blush fading as he hunched his shoulders. “Aw mom…well, you know. Its your day and all that.”
Aiko smiled and pulled away a little to fondly scruff his hair.
“That’s my boy.”
~.~
“Position clear?”
“Check.”
“Batcha appeased yesterday?”
“Check.”
“Mom due to wake up soon?”
“Check.”
“Presentation?”
“Pretentious, and check.”
Shion rolled her eyes and offered a halfhearted glare at her twin. “Which one of us was sent to a refined Catholic boarding school, hmm?” she asked archly, waving the whipped-cream-smeared spatula at her sister. “A meal that looks disgusting is going to be treated as disgusting, even if it tastes absolutely amazing. We’ve got the garnish and the plating and everything arranged just so, and as such, our already-appealing dish becomes even more appealing.”
“Pretentious.” Mion muttered rebelliously, shifting from foot to foot as she stood near the door of the kitchen. Shion tossed the spatula into the water-filled sink and sighed, joining her elder twin as the two headed off down the hall. The Sonozaki sisters had timed this to a nicety, of course –it was hardly more than a few seconds after taking up their positions outside their parents’ door that Shion, ear pressed against the paper, heard the sound of their alarm clock buzzing through the walls. Dad had obligingly offered to attend Batcha yesterday (fulfilling his Mother’s Day duties), so their way was clear as they heard Akane Sonozaki rustling around on her futon.
Shion, with both hands empty, knocked on the door, and heard the soft chuckle of their mom.
“Come in.” she said, amusement dancing in her voice at the expected Mother’s Day antics her two daughters would display. Shion slid the door aside with her foot, and she and Mion entered the room in unison, kneeling to offer their mother the (beautifully presented) breakfast dessert dish they had assembled.
“Happy Mother’s Day, mom!” the two chirped, and Akane blinked, a hand straying to her chest and eyes widening as she saw the complex dish laid out for her enjoyment.
“Oh my…girls, you didn’t have to go to such troubles for me.” she breathed in surprise. “Just your usual card o-or gift would’ve been fine!”
“Hey, I didn’t go to that ridiculously fancy European school for nothin’.” Shion said with a grin, nudging her sister with a playful elbow. “I had to show Onee how things are done, after all!”
“And there’s no effort too small to go through for our mom!” Mion added with a sunny smile, teal eyes glinting as she looked towards her twin.
Top that one, Shion.
The younger Sonozaki twin merely stuck out her tongue at Mion as their mother leaned down to inspect her tribute.

“Come with me. Now.”
“Wha- but- hauhauhau…” Hanyuu spluttered and then whimpered as Rika grabbed her by her sleeve and abruptly dragged her out the door. “Rika, slow down!”
Rika dragged her through the bushes near the Furude Shrine, and then down one of the small deer trails, heading upwards. “You know how Chie-sensei talked about the cycle of life a few weeks ago?” she asked in her usual low voice after a few minutes, dropping her childish mannerisms as soon as they were out of sight of the house.
“Hauhau, of course.” Hanyuu responded, nonplussed.
“Creatures live and consume energy, then, as they die, their flesh decays and returns to the environment, feeding it in turn.” Rika paraphrased, still dragging Hanyuu firmly through the undergrowth as the ground began to ascend steeply. “How old are you, Hanyuu?”
“Oh…” Hanyuu thought she saw where this was going, wobbling a little as they half-climbed, half-crawled up the steep face of the hill. “Rika, I don’t think even my bones will be left anywhere anymore. My mortal shell sank to the bottom of a swamp after my death, and there are many creatures that would have fed on my remains.”
“I know.” Rika responded abruptly, making a slight turn as they forced their way through another part of the undergrowth, the ground leveling out a little. “Your flesh will be gone by now, and your bones in fragments, if they even exist at all…just as it would be if you’d been properly cremated.”
Hanyuu stumbled a little as they came to a sudden clear space, with a light fringe of grass covering the stony ground, which abruptly terminated in a cliff, explaining the lack of shrubs –the dirt was too shallow and too rocky to support their roots.
She caught her breath at the view, though –it was everything one could see from the shrine, and more, because they were high enough on the mountain slope to see the roof of the Furude Shrine itself peeking out through the trees below them. “Rika…hauhauhau, this is beautiful!”
“I know.” Rika replied calmly. She tugged Hanyuu to the side a little, and pointed. Hanyuu’s breath caught again, and she instinctively reached out and squeezed Rika’s hand.
It was a stone tablet. Oh, it was rather clumsily made, and rather obviously the product of someone with only the strength of a ten-year-old girl, but it was still there, and the message behind it was staggering. No one of Hanyuu’s clan had ever made her a grave marker. Not even her daughter, Rika’s many-times great-grandmother.
A line of characters were thickly scribed down the side, a little primitive perhaps, but made with the clear intent to last.
ハィ=リューン・イェアソムール・ジェダ 羽入 Hai-Ryuun Ieasomuuru Jeda Hanyuu.
“I read up on some of the old texts to find the proper name, the name of your clan, that is.” Rika said quietly after a moment, as tears stood in Hanyuu’s eyes. She slipped her hand out of the goddess’s and turned rummaging around in the bushes nearby. “I thought, it would be a shame if no one ever memorialized you for what you did.”
Hanyuu swallowed thickly and used her billowing, salmon-colored sleeves to wipe away her tears. “They did. They built a shrine for me, and they worshipped me on its altar.”
“They enshrined Oyashiro-sama.” Rika replied, her deep voice blunt. “They forgot who died to give that name life.”
She turned around, and more tears welled in Hanyuu’s eyes as she saw the bouquet of flowers her descendant had carefully wrapped and apparently placed here beforehand. Rika walked over to the stone and laid them down, stepping back to look on it with Hanyuu.
“Happy Mother’s Day.” Rika coughed after an awkward, clumsy moment of her silence. “I made you this –I thought it…bad, that no one ever left anything for you at your grave. That you didn’t even have one, after…after all that you’ve done. And I thought, well, what better place to put it than somewhere undisturbed…somewhere that you could look out over Hinamizawa from. I thought-”
Rika’s voice trembled, and Hanyuu silently put out her hand as the younger miko fell silent. Tomorrow, no doubt, the ancient child would be back to pranking Hanyuu with spicy kimichi and her cold little comments on Hanyuu’s usefulness and lack thereof, probably denying that this moment ever happened, but Hanyuu knew, sure as the sun rising in the east, that they would both be back here in a year, and every year after, until Rika returned to the same dust she had been born from.
“Thank you, daughter.” Hanyuu said softly.
Neither would admit they were crying.
~.~
Miyoko hummed happily as she skipped along the street, the shiny gold-and-red pinwheel flashing and dancing in her hands, spinning rapidly both from the breeze of her passage and the brisk spring wind.
“Mama! Look what I have!” she announced excitedly as her mother stepped out onto the front stoop, wiping her hands on her apron, waving the pinwheel manically above her head.
“Oh, my! How lovely!” the older woman said, kneeling to take the paper confection like Miyoko had offered her a flower. “Where did you get this?”
“I won it!” Miyoko squealed, flapping her arms rapidly as her amber eyes sparkled. “I won it at the coin game and I was gonna keep it ‘cause its so, so pretty, but then I thought, since its Mother’s Day today, I could give it to you, Mama!”
“Well, I very much appreciate it.” Her mother said with a warm smile, brushing her fingers through Miyoko’s wind-tousled hair. “Why don’t you come inside and eat these cookies I just finished making as a reward?”
“Yay! Cookies!” Miyoko giggled, swinging gleefully from her mother’s free arm as the two turned and went back into the house.
The wind blew in the street, perhaps revealing a flash of green, a whispering wave of midnight blue, a haunting smile and wise, deep violet eyes, but the mirage was soon gone in the dancing waves of asphalt, broken by the excited cries of Miyoko Tanashi.
AN: @councillorsparatus, I finally did it! This snippet is actually based off a drawing by ChibiRisa20 on deviantart, and my apologies for not directly stating what the twins give their mom, but like…I don’t know what the hell that food is. It looks like a waffle, but then there’s chocolate(?) and sprinkles(?) and bacon? Or are those pink-red bits strawberries?
I’m assuming it’s a weird Japanese dish and leaving it at that. Also, Hanyuu apparently has a real name and it is literally nothing but a long string of titles concerning her otherworldly “demon” clan and their duties and she didn’t even have a personal name until Riku Furude gave one to her when they got married or whenever. Fun fact.

One Piece OC | Gekido Oroka review
Tumblr media
So here we go with our first review of this beautiful trainwreck. Let me just point out that her long gun has scars. Idek what to say to that but let’s take a look at her profile.
"Call me "Monster" if you want. That just don't fucking affect me."
How supremely edgy. You already know what kind of character this is gonna be. GENERAL INFORMATION Name: Oroka Last Name: Gekido Complete Name: Gekido Oroka Japanese Name: 激怒 愚か All fine. Nicknames: Bloody | Vampire | Oro-Chan | Monster from Mugoi | Chef (By Solider's) Epithet: "Bloody Vampire" "Bloody" is not a nickname. And let's just say that Vampires in the One Piece OC fandom are overused and stupid. Age: 6 (child) | 16 | 23 | 30 (age when she will die) Birth: 31th October 1476 Astrological Sign: Scorpio Handicap: Dextrocardia How is this exactly a handicap to her? You explain literally nothing about how it affects her. Also how wonderfully edgy to have your birthday on halloween. First Appearance: Memory Arc (My Own Arc | As Flashback) Seiyuu: (wip) APPEARANCE Spiece: Human Gender: Female Bloodtype: X (A in One Piece world) Hair: Red short hair who arrived on her shoulders. We noticed that almost every OC this person has has got red hair and almost the same hairstyle too. So I smell self insert. Eyes: Yellow eyes with a circle around her iris Height: 1,55cm Weight: (wip) Birth Marks: She have an birth mark of her family in the back of her neck Scar: Oroka an a scar on her nose, her left leg, and right arm Where do these come from? Tattoo: /// Makeup: /// Accessories: She have a medallion with the photo of her and her sister Akane Jewels: /// If she doesn't have tats or makeup or whatever just don't add it. It's unnecessary. Others: She have small boobs, and she have her teeth like vampire Why is it important if her boobs are big or small??? We can see it on the picture and it's just not relevant. This happens a lot in the OP fandom where people feel the need to explain in detail what kind of proportions their characters have just because the canon females have giant boobs. Your OC also isn't anymore special because she has small boobs unlike the others. STATUS Affiliation: Princess of Mugoi Island (former); Solider of Heiwana Island ( andylookout Island ) Occupations: Princess of Mugoi Island (before); Commander; Solider Another princess backstory and a tragic one too. It just keeps getting better! Bounty: 1.000 (At 6 Years Old) | 10.000 (At 10 Years Old) | 50.000.000 (At 14 Years Old) | 100.000.000 (At 16 years old) Bounty Disclaimer: Alive Where does this bounty come from? It never gets explained not even in her history. And giving your characters a bounty when they haven't even turned like 12 is kinda ripping off Robin. Btw don't pull a Sanji with the Bounty Disclaimer. INFO COMBAT Devil Fruit: Ketsueki Ketsueki no Mi (Blood Fruit) Type: Paramecia Who she eat it?: Forced to eat it by Osoro her father when she was 5 years old Alright first off: the goddamn Blood fruit is so overused on edgy OCs it hurts. And all OCs with this fruit are somehow extremely similar in both backstory and personality. It's always cliche af and why in hell would her own father force her to it something so valueable? Why wouldn't he eat it himself instead if he's so evil? And WHY AT 5 YEARS?? Weapon: She have a lot weapon, but her main is a long gun Capacities: (wip) Force: (wip) Weakness: Sea Stone, and Sea Water Haki: Busoshoku Haki; Kenbunshoku no Haki~ We never get to know how she got both Haki. You don't just learn these on your own, who trained her? Who taught her? Also I'd love to see One Piece OCs with more weaknesses than just the standard ones. Give your character a bit more depth. ATTACKS Brace yourselves. This shit is insane. Bloody Wings: Can create wings with her blood fruit. She can use them for flying, but she only can fly 30 minutes with her bloody wings. 30 fucking minutes. Robin can only fly for something around 5 seconds. Why is it such a popular thing to give your OC the ability to fly?? If you want your character to be able to fly give them a wings fruit or bird zoan fruit idc. But don't do this, it's overpowered. Bloody Body: Can transform her whole body into blood. She don't use it a lot, because for Oroka, that not useful How is that not useful?? Also this is a paramecia fruit. Your character wouldn't be able to turn her body into blood or whatever because it's not a logia fruit. Get your facts straight. Bloody Tornado: Can create a tornado of blood. She can do small tornado, large tornado, or big tornado. Her big tornado blood is always very strong. Wouldn't she die of bloodloss? I mean a whole tornado out of only her blood is a bit extreme don't you think? Or is the blood just appearing out of thin air? I thought it's her own. Bloody Clone: Can create a bloody clone of herself. Even if that a clone, the clone won't have the color of her user, but will have the color of blood. Of course. More overpowered bs. Bloody Whip: Can create blood whip. She use it like a normal whip. Bloody Shield: Create with a blood shield for protect herself. How does that work??? Things can go through blood quite easily unless you can harden your blood which would be just kawaii. Bloody Bullets: Attack her enemy with bloody bullets. Sometimes, she try to use Haki on it for make her bullets more strong.~ Why do you even need bloody bullets if you have tons of weapons and guns on you anyway? Decide on one thing. Bloody Sucking: Can take the blood of her enemy, and absorb it! Oroka never do this attack, she do it one time, and that was dangerous for herself too. She can't control this.~ Just no. And what do you mean she can't control it? Will she go insane with a horrible thirst for blood and then shimmer in the moonlight twilightstyle? And that tilde is just so sugoi. Teehee look at me I'm so strong and psycho owo ORIGIN Native Island: Mugoi Island - New World Gekido Osoro: Osoro is the king of Mugoi Island but also the father of Oroka. Osoro just consider Oroka like an object, and object who have to help him for having the power he want. He just want his child is strong and clever. He always call Oroka "peace of shit" and all bad nicknames. Oroka loved her father when she was a child, until she have 6 years old, where she start to hate him a lot. She already to try to kill him, but she kill her own sister accidentally because of him. Osoro also did a lot of scar on Oroka body, like in her nose, arm and leg, because Oroka never listen him, so for punish, she do the horrible thing to cut one part of Oroka body, but Akane always try to stop him when she can. If Oroka can't kill Osoro one day, she will never be in peace when she will die. So that's where the scars come from. Still wtf is this? Again if Osoro wants to be powerful so bad why didn't he eat the fruit himself? Also you don't just suddenly start to ultimately hate your parents by the age of freaking 6 and then just try to KILL them. Like holy shit this is not how kids work. Btw if he wants Oroka to be oh so powerful why did he try to cut one part of her body and just generally treat her like dog shit which would make her more and more handicapped? Gekido Nikui: Nikui is the wife of Osoro so the queen of Mugoi Island, and also the mother of Oroka. Like Osoro, she consider her own child like an object who have to help them to have power. She only do her childs for they have an object who have to be strong and help them, that always makes Oroka angry. But like Osoro too, when she was a child, she loved her mother Nikui, until her 6 years old too. For Oroka, she need to be killed like Osoro, she is bad for this world, and her own child. If Oroka can't kill Nikui one day, she will never be in peace when she will die like for Osoro. Same as before. Kids don't just randomly start to hate their parents at age 6 so much that they want to kill them. Kids around that age don't even really understand what's going on around them and just want to love and be loved by their parents. Gekido Akane: Akane is the big sister of Oroka, who is also for her, her real family. Akane is a very good sister with Oroka, always kind and here to help or protect her. Akane hate a lot Nikui and Osoro, so if they do horrible things to Oroka, she won't hesited to talk bad to her parents. Oroka love a lot her sister, she was always with her when she was child, because she was scared of her parents, but also she always smiled with her sister. Oroka will sadly kill Akane accidently because of Osoro who will use her as a shield when Oroka wanted to kill Osoro. The only regret she have is that she kill her own sister, even that not her fault. So Oroka was 5 years old when she was forced to eat the Blood fruit and at age 6 she was already capable of killing another human being?? What?? She's 6. She probably wouldn't even know wtf she's doing. And why did nobody stop her when she tried to kill her father? It's a 6 year old girl!! How is she even a threat??? You could just throw her out the window with one arm. Gekido Jihi: Jihi is the little brother of Oroka, they never meet, Oroka just don't know that she have a little brother, because he is born when she left her Home Island when Akane died. She will know that she have a brother when she will have 16 years old, but Oroka just don't care of him. Jihi hate her sister, and for him, she is a shame for Gekido family, he also think this for Osoro and Nikui. He will be very happy if his sister die one day. Spidy: Spidy is the little spider of Oroka when she was a child, she find Spidy at the forest with her big sister Akane. When Oroka see her for the first time, she love this little spider a LOT, and wanted to adopt her. She give to her little spider the name of "Spidy" and will always take care of her ! Spidy will live only one year with Oroka, and will die at the 6th Birthday of Oroka because of Nikui who kill Spidy...just because Nikui don't want that Oroka have empathy with animal, insect and humans... Ok first off insects are animals but aside from that "Spidy" is like the most uncreative name for a spider I've ever heard. The whole point of Spidy is to give Oroka more pity-points so that we feel even more bad for her. Oroka Grandparents from Osoro Side: She never see her grandparents from Osoro side, but she know that they are like Osoro. Oroka don't even want to see them one day, she hope a lot that they are dead. Oroka Grandparents from Nikui Side: Oroka see her grandparents only one or two time when she was a little child, and she love them a lot. She see them when she was 3-4 years old. She remember that her grandparents try to save her and Akane from Nikui and Osoro, and they wanted that Akane and Oroka have a good life, a good childhood, and all..Her grandparents never hated her, even if she turn into a psycho, they know that Oroka always have her good side when she was a child when they see what happen to her. Time pass, and Oroka didn't see them since she was a child, but always remember them when she grow up. She would like to see them again, because even if she don't show her feelings to others, she still love a lot her grandparents...Will she see them one day ? What stopped them from taking these two little kids with them? Why did they stop to try saving them when they clearly saw that Oroka was slowly going batshit insane and beaten by her parents? Why does Oroka not know where they are? And why are these grandparents so lovely and nice and their daughter Nikui such a bitch? Story: Oroka born on Mugoi Island on a 31th October. She is the princess of Mugoi Island and the child of the king Osoro and the queen Nikui. Since she born, Oroka never wanted to be a princess, she hate that and all princess things a lot. She just wanted to be free, like others peoples. But the only things interested her parents about her, that making her strong, powerful, clever, and the best child, only because they want to have power, something Oroka didin't want like her big sister Akane, but even if her parents are horrible, she loved her. Until one day, at her 6th birthday, she started to hate a parents a lot, for they, they are horrible, and need to go to hell, she also think that someone need to stop them before they do horrible things to others peoples. She stared to be crazy and got murderous drive, so she try to kill her own father Osoro, but Osoro use Akane as a shield to protect himself, that mean that Oroka kill her sister accidentally, the only person who was important for her. For her, that was her fault, only her fault if Akane died. She was very in rage in front Osoro for what he did, she tell to him that one day, one day she will pay for what all he did to her and her sister Oroka, and that she will go to hell him and his wife, and she go away from the Island because she can't stay here anymore. And all that happened on her 6th birthday on ONE day. Again, you don't love your parents the one day and hate them the next and want to kill them and want them to go to hell. What do you even mean by stopping them before they do horrible things to others?? What other people? How does she manage to escape too? She's a child, people should be able to catch her easily. After that Osoro do everything that Oroka got a bounty, she have 5.000 berrys on her head, and when Oroka see that, she didn't care, because she will kick or kill people who want to kill her or give her to Osoro or the Navy. But Oroka last name was not on her bounty poster, and that makes her happy because Gekido's are not her family, and for her she is not a part of them. I thought she had a bounty of 1.000 as stated above? Whats true now? Why does she not care if people wanna kill her? She's fucking 6 she would be scared as hell especially since it sounds like she never left the island before that. At her 10th birthday, 4 years after leaving Mugoi Island, Oroka got 10.000 berry on her face, people started to be scared of her, and try to hide they self if they see Oroka. She was always this little girl when she was 6 years old, she didn't change, well, she change, but in the worst way. If she need food or money, she don't heisted to steal people, if people don't give her what she want, she start to act crazy. When people see that she have the Blood Fruit, people start to call her "Bloody Girl" because for them, this is what she is. So she gets a raise on every birthday of hers. How convenient, the marines are so nice with their gifts. Where does that bounty come from, what did she do? And "Bloody girl" is just so ...cringy and cliche my head hurts. Btw she's 10, why is she such a big threat to other adults? Oh, because her devil fruit is so powerful of course, sorry I forgot. At her 14th birthday, she got again a new bounty : 1.000.000. But this time, she was angry, because she see her last name on her bounty poster now, that was not only Oroka now, but "Gekido Oroka". The thing that she don't know, that Osoro want her back, always for the same reason like at the past. She started to think at this moment that the date of her birthday is always a cursed day, with bad luck and all. But this is not always true. Another bounty, again: why? And oh how edgy, she hates her family and her last name so so much, those meanie marines how could they?! At her 16th birthday, she was on a Island called Heiwana, a type of Island she hate a lot, because that was an Kingdom Island. She will meet in this Island someone called Koshiro, she won't like him a lot, but the thing that she don't know, that when she will see this man, she don't know that she will have something that her own parents never give to her. (need to write it again) Yeah you sure as hell do. Why would she visit an island she doesn't like? Who tf is Koshiro? And let me guess what you're talking about is love. Absolutely didn’t see that one coming. PERSONALITY Laugh: Mouhahahahah ! Only the lamest villain laugh of all time. Positive Traits: Can be a nice person if we know her | Can have normal feelings like everybody sometimes -wip- Negatives Traits: Love killing people or torturing them | Never really happy | Never smile normally (this is SUPER rare, like impossible) | Act like an child when she want to make someone suffer | Have no empathy | Can't Lie -wip- This is so terribly edgy I cut myself. She sounds like Sasuke honestly. Normal feelings and can be a nice person but is a torture loving psycho at the same time? What? This is so bland idek. Likes: Blood | Torture | Cherry | Strawberries | Weapons | Having fun with her victims | Fight | Read Books | Insects | Weird Things | Be Free -wip- Hates: Hate people who want power | Hate kingdoms | Hate nature | Hate herself | Hate her parents | hate joking | Hate when someone joke on her | Hate when people call her a child | Hate when people compared her as a Gekido | Hate to do nothing | Hate dress | Hate shoes will long heels | Hate Make Up | Hate Treason | Hate when someone tell her orders and tell her what to do | Hate romantics things | Hate Coffee | Hate Tea | Hate showing her body | Hate showing her scars | Hate showing her Birth Mark | Hate when people call her "Bloody Pancake" or "Cherry Pancake" | Hate cleaning somethings | Hate some type of people | Hate to be weak | Cooking | The smell of smoking So she hates everything under the sun then. I also noticed a pattern in this persons OCs, they all seem to hate showing off their bodies or scars or whatever so the self insert smell intensifies. And "hate some type of people"? What kind?? And I'm pretty sure noone would call her bloody pancake if she's oh so scary and whatnot. Favorite Food: Cherry Hated Food: Everything about meat, fish and chicken food Favorite Color: Red Hated Color: Pink Favorite Drink: Cherry Juice | Coffee (only when that prepared by Kyoshi) Hated Drink: Milk Favorite Animal: Nope (she prefer insects) Hated Animal: Bunnies INSECTS ARE ANIMALS. And of course she loves everything red like cherries and shit and hates everything girly because thats not badass. Favorite Season: Winter Hated Season: Summer Favorite Flower: Red Rose Favorite Number: 666 This is a cliche as it can get. 666? REALLY?? Intelligence: -wip- Stamina: Good, but can be bad sometimes because of her Dextrocardia So here's a tiny bit of info about her Dextrocardia but it still gives NO insight to how much it actually affects her in battle or everyday life. Observation: Very Good Mental Strength: Good, but she have a psycho mental, so her mental can be good and turn bad as a psycho Then it's not good. It's terrible even. She's a psycho so she's pretty much insane and has NO mental strength left or at least she shouldn't if she's really the way you claim her to be. Determination: Full Determination Trust: Don't trust anyone Humor: She have more creepy stuff humor Patience: Depend of the situation, she can be totally calm, and start to get very angry in any second if someone broke her patience Laziness: She is not lazy, if she is bored, she always need to do something Pervert: Oroka is totally not pervert, she is a 100% asexual Habits: Always love to collect weapons, and also sometimes collect insects. Dream: /// Fear: Philophobia (Fear of Love) Sleeping Rhythm: She go to bed at midnight and wake up at 3 pm, she don't sleep a lot I thought her dream was to kill her parents? And why the fear of love? Where does that come from? Btw if she goes to sleep at midnight and wakes up at 3 PM she gets a ton of sleep. I think you wanted to say AM, right? I hope so. Smells like: Blood Urgh. Sexuality: Asexual Love: Nobody RELATIONSHIP STARDUST D. FAMILY Stardust D.Koshiro: Oroka didn't like Koshiro at the beginning, and never trust him, before, she think that Koshiro was like her father Osoro, but with time, she see that no. If Oroka is the commander of the army of Heiwana Island, that because of Koshiro who trust her a lot. Koshiro will be a little strict and direct with Oroka, and will be not gentle when they are training. That was hard, but with time, Oroka consider Koshiro like a father. He love her as a daughter. When did she become a commander?? And why on an island she hates too? Miyuki: (wip) Stardust D.Léo: (wip) Stardust D.Kosuke: (wip) Raid: (wip) MY OCs Teki Kyoshi: Kyoshi is a big fan of Oroka, she like her a lot, and love how she fight and all. She admire her a lot because of her courage, that because of Oroka if Kyoshi wanted to join her and her army. Oroka think that Kyoshi was very annoying with her at the beginning, but at the end, they start to be good friend, that will be also the first friend that Oroka will have. -wip- Why would anyone want to be around Oroka? She is known to be a psycho and scared by many so why do these people want to be friends with her or even let her in the army?? I'm sorry but handicapped psychos aren't exactly allowed in the army at least in the real world because they're deemed as not capable since they’re unreliable, Koichi: -wip- Hiromi Yoku: She know a little Yoku, an important person of Memory Island, Oroka think nothing about her, but Yoku think that Oroka is a very good solider for Heiwana Island. Hiromi Hanako: Oroka is wary with Hanako, even she know that Hanako is a very good person, she have her own reason to be wary. -wip- Hiromi Erika: With Erika and Oroka, that very special with them. Nobody know what or how is they relationship. Only some people of the past know what is the special thing about them. What? Why is their relationship such a secret? Why does nobody know about it if it's so special? Byoki : Oroka don't like her, because she is evil, and someone who is bad. She know that Byoki will do bad things to Memory Island. Byoki also hate Oroka, for her, that will be better if Oroka die. PEOPLES OCs Tell me if you want an relationship with Oroka, but she is not part of what happen on OP story, but before Erika is born~ No thank you. I'll keep my OCs to myself. And this is how not to make an One Piece OC. Our advice for you: Rewrite her story. It's nonsense that a 6 year old girl does all these things out of the blue and just because you call her a psycho doesn't justify any of it. It still makes no sense at all. Tone down the attacks and her powers and give her more weaknesses. I think you can do a lot of cool stuff with a Blood fruit but it only ever gets used by cringy 14 year olds who want to pump out edgy OCs to make them look super badass. Tone it down with the bloody shit as well. Especially her favourites and her nicknames. Your character can be a psycho or whatever but give them a bit more depth than just blood and violence and teehee I love torturing uwu. Give her more reasons to become as twisted as she is. People and especially kids don't just go crazy over night, no matter what crazy shit happens to them in one day.

hell O i love your phantom thieves au take so much. it's so good lsjdghs,
just thinking--what's hanako's opinion on terukane, once he catches on to what's happening between them?
(Phantom Thieves AU:  Main post )
I'm happy you enjoy it, Anon! And poor Hanako would hate the power couple, his life has been going downhill ever since they got together.
Before Teru got involved in the phantom thieves case, Hanako used to adore messing with Akane. It’s so easy to anger him, and Hanako lives for a reactive audience! For the entertainment!
Hanako knows of Akane’s hatred for him, Akane never tried to hide it, but he never minded, aware Akane’s punch is nothing to scoff at but seeing him as a fun rival, a fire he usually doesn't get burned by. They only see each other at heist and since Hanako has way more experience being a thief, he likes to annoy Akane: sabotage the building before he arrives, feed the rumors that they are a duo, and sometimes, when a heist gets particularly hard, he’ll name drop Aoi-chan to stress Akane, make the guy so furious he starts calling people's attention, taking the focus away from Hanako.
The chief of the cops is a completely different story, he terrifies Hanako. He never falls for his tricks, he never shows what he is feeling, and his whip can break bones (Hanako knows from experience). Even when Akane and Teru weren’t dating, just in a weird alliance, Hanako had already been worried, not wanting Teru to have all the info Akane would be happy to share about him.
His fears are founded, cause he is caught and thrown in jail not even 1 week later.
Hanako is amused that Akane gets thrown in the cell right beside his, feeling a bit offended that Akane’s cell is way easier to escape than his reinforced one. When the older thief escapes, Hanako tries to convince Akane to steal a key to open his cell. He is very unsuccessful, which is fair enough, Hanako would have left Akane behind too if their roles were reversed, but it was still annoying.
When Terukane officially started dating, Hanako learned it in an awful way: He had just sneaked out of his reinforced cell after a week of planning only to see Teru pushing Akane’s hair and shamelessly making out in the prison hallway, which had an awful echo mind you, and the runaway thief felt so horrified, he ruined his entire escape plan by letting out a stranged sound of disbelief, calling Teru’s attention and being thrown back in his cell. Much to Hanako’s shock, a ruffled up Akane was thrown in his neighbor's cell a few minutes after.
Hanako will be palpably confused “Why are you in prison?” And Akane will smirk like a piece of shit and say some vague innuendo “Teru doesn’t like when I don’t bite where it hurts” instead of the truth, cause Akane knows it makes Hanako mortified and he is always miserable when he goes to prison, he feels like he deserves bullying Hanako, as a treat.
Hanako’s respect for Akane simultaneously raised to the roof and dropped to hell after that, cause on one hand, you need to be mad to play with someone as terrifying as Teru, but on the other hand, holy shit, what the fuck is wrong with Akane to date the chief of the police of all people??
Once he actually escapes, tricking a guard in training to fetch him the keys, Hanako is distraught to realize Akane is basically Teru’s personal informant. For as much as Akane will deny, they are a team now, and their teamwork is scarily efficient.
Hanako heists became way harder, and he doesn’t even get to tease Akane anymore. He tried a few times, delighted that threatening Aoi was still enough to make Akane go into a mad panic, but horrified to feel Teru's silent anger, promising to cut his tongue off if he caught Hanako stressing his boyfriend again.
Hanako is good at adapting, but he still gets caught a lot, to the point he genuinely befriends the guard in charge of his cell, baffled to realize he is Teru's younger brother.
His life is wild.

Nagito, Sonia, Makoto, Leon, Akane, Mukuro, and Sakura with an Ultimate Voice S/O. (Singing, Voice Acting, Voice Imitation.)
Tumblr media
You can probably tell where I stopped writing and started procrastinating on this particular piece. I just hope the requester doesn’t mind.
- Mod Teruteru
Nagito Komaeda
- He was walking to school covered in tire marks and animal bites.
- Don't ask.
- Anyway, he was walking to school covered in a bunch of injuries.
- Behind him he heard running, then his friend's voice.
- “Whoa Komaeda, are you okay?”
- “Don't worry, I'm just fine Haji-”
- Hey that's not Hajime.
- Your voice then suddenly got high pitched and very familiar.
- “The Ultimate Nurse is in your class isn't she? Maybe you should ask her for help.”
- He's pretty confused at this point.
- “... Mikan?”
- You nodded your head and turned to your own voice.
- “Sorry if that seemed weird, imitating voices is the only way for me to break the ice.”
- Imitating voices huh?
- That's cool.
- In class he loves watching you switch between made up voice characters when the tensions high.
- When you imitate him you say compliments about him left and right.
- “I’m Nagito Komaeda! My hair looks cool and my voice sounds really nice.”
- “You know you don’t need to compliment me in such an indirect way.”
- Then you returned back to your normal voice again.
- “But you won’t listen to any compliments I don’t say like thaaaat.”
- Komaeda laughed. “Why would you think that? I’ll always listen to my S/O when they talk to me.”
- “Because you always turn the compliment around and call yourself trash?”
- “But that’s because I am-”
- You stood up and switched to Komaeda’s voice again.
- “My name is Nagito Komaeda and I will not call myself trash!”
Sonia Nevermind
- She wanted a few lessons on how to sing a bit better so she can perform for her friends.
- So she asked you to help tutor her.
- Wow singing was a lot harder than she thought it would be.
- Though most fictional princesses were basically known for their beautiful singing abilities, Sonia the real life princess was a bit tone deaf.
- Training her took longer than you expected as well.
- But you were able to get it done.
- You went to her performance she had promised her friends in her class.
- But before she began, she asked that the first song was a duet with you.
- Tears almost started forming out of your already sparkling eyes.
- Your little duet thing for just the first song turned into a full on two person singing performance immediately after the first song was finished.
- It started with a simple duet of “Good Little Girl” by Rebecca Sugar, then “Back Side of the TV” by Lotus Juice, and then you started spiralling into the deep dark pit of Disney songs. Each time you changed songs you would change your voice into the male singer of the duet, or just the one you knew Sonia couldn’t do.
- By the end, everyone was clapping and cheering for you two.
- You both think you should do it more often.
Makoto Naegi
- He caught the sound of a strange voice on the way to school one day.
- It kind of sounded like a goofy cartoon character, but it didn’t sound like it was coming from any sort of device.
- When he found the source, it was a girl/boy talking to their friend.
- He was pretty weirded out by this.
- But when he saw you walk into Hopes Peak Academy, it made sense.
- He struck up a conversation with you during lunch after sitting next to you.
- After a bit of talking and laughing, he asked what kind of Ultimate you were.
- “Oh, that’s right, I’m the Ultimate Voice. I’m the master of all things speaking related, *ol’ timey announcer voice change* that includes but is not limited to, Singing, Imitation, and Voice Acting.”
- Ah, voice acting. That explains what he saw earlier.
- He started hanging out with you almost immediately after that.
- You learned how to imitate his voice and started talking to him and others with it.
- “Hey Togami-san?”
- “What do you want Naegi-”
- And then he would turn around and a girl/boy that wasn’t Naegi would be behind him.
- “What?”
- “Naegi?”
- Then you would turn your voice back to your own.
- “Sorry, I don’t know who you’re talking about.”
- Then he would turn back to what he was doing and wonder about what happened all day.
- You and Naegi would begin to hold in laughter when he asked him about it.
Leon Kuwata
- You recently found a way to yell and make it sound like you were a huge crowd.
- Oh boy were ready to use that on Leon.
- You were following him as he was walking to the baseball field.
- You suddenly jumped into a bush and yelled “HEY!” as over 50 people.
- He jumped out of his skin and whipped his head around to see no one there.
- “What the f*ck?!”
- You started holding in your laughter as tears started forming in your eyes.
- “T-the hell? How many of you are there?”
- You continued to hide inside your bush as Leon started searching for someone.
- When he finally found you, your smile hurt and tears were pouring down your face.
- “Woah, S/O? You okay?”
- You stuttered as you kept your laughter bottled up.
- “Y-yeah! I-I’m fine.”
- “You sure? You look like you're crying.”
- All at once, your laughter poured out the a waterfall.
- “Hahahahahahaaaah! Y-you never even suspected me!”
- “W-what!? What are you talking about?!”
- Then suddenly you made your voice sounded like 100 people were laughing at once.
- “AHH! That was you?!”
- You turned your voice back and started calming yourself down.
- You were breathing heavy, but you said “I’m sorry. Ever since I learned how to do that I wanted to use it.”
- “So you decided to scare me out of my jeans huh?”
- “He he, yeah.”
- Leon laughed. “Well then you wouldn't mind if I got REVENGE!”
- “Ahh!”
- Then you ran as Leon started chasing you around the school.
- Your such a good couple.
Akane Owari
- Your impressions turned you into her Nidai substitute when he wasn't around.
- Though it strained your voice to an extreme level.
- You tried not to let it bother you, until one day it interrupted your impression.
- “YEAH! KEEP GOING! SHOW SOME SPIRI- *Cough Cough* Agh, okay.  I'm gonna have to take five for that.”
- Akane stopped what she was doing and looked at you.
- “Really? Why?”
- You held your neck as the pain started pulsing across its inside.
- “Nidai's voice is too much for me. My throat is really starting to hurt.”
- Akane then started dragging you by the wrist saying that she has a home remedy for a sore throat like yours.
- You entered her cabin, and she told you to stay inside and ran off to the island’s kitchen.
- When Akane came back, she was holding a steaming mug of something white.
- She handed to you, and a sweet honey scent wafted into your face.
- You gave Akane a questioning look, and she gave a big smile back.
- “Whenever my younger siblings got scratchy throats, a mix of honey, milk, boiling water, and cinnamon always brought them back up from the dumps!”
- You smiled and blew the edge of the mixture.
- You took a sip and felt the smooth drink sooth your throat.
- Akane smiled when she saw the stars in your eyes.
- Then you two sat together on her bed talking softly as your throat healed.
Mukuro Ikusaba
- She didn’t like admitting it, but she admired your singing like you were an idol.
- It was similar the relationships tsunderes had with their clueless main character counter parts.
- She generally tried avoiding you in case she was caught admiring you.
- But at the same time, you were wherever she went.
- She didn’t know why.
- That was until you had approached her.
- You were blushing a lot and making quick glances at the floor.
- “Um, m-my name’s F/N.”
- “Yes I know.”
- “Huh? H-how?”
- Mukuro quickly put a hand up to her mouth and blushed a bit.
- “N-no reason, please continue.”
- You laughed softly and looked at her again.
- “I-um-I know you don’t know me that much,”
- Wow that was a lie.
- “But, would you want to hang out sometime? I-it doesn’t even have to be a date! We could just start as friends, i-if you want…”
- Mukuro was very confused.
- So much so, that she kind of just blirted out the first thing that came to mind.
- “I-I love your singing!”
- Your ears perked. “You...listen to my songs?”
- You both stared at each other until you smiled.
- “...because, I can do more than sing.”
- Mukuro continued staring.
- Then she spoke.
- “You can continue talking about it on our date.”
Sakura Oogami
- She is heavily impressed by your abilities.
- You found your goal to be to make her laugh legitimately.
- And it’s a goal you practiced annually.
- “*Goofy voice change* Well howdy Sakura-chan! Gosh do you look perty today.”
- “Mm, thank you S/O.”
- Damn it.
- On some days, you would just quietly give up.
- But your hope did not die that day!
- You still had one more chance to beat her!
- You approached her in the hallway, knowing this was your only chance.
- “Sakura, can I talk to you about something?”
- “Sure, what do you need S/O?”
- You made yourself blush and scratched the back of your neck.
- This put Sakura on her toes.
- “There’s something I have to tell you…”
- You looked at the ground.
- “I-I’ve been wanting to say this for a long time now. I was so nervous, but I-I’m not going to nervous anymore. Sakura I…! I-I!”
- You looked her in the eyes.
- “*Johnny Bravo voice change* Well I love you darling.”
- You held your breath, waiting for a reaction.
- Then you heard something beautiful.
- Sakura’s laughter.
- “Ha ha ha ha, you got me S/O.”
- You were absolutely glowing.
- You hugged her.
- “I love you Sakura!”
- “Hm hm, I love you too.”

BIGFOOT MUSEUM 10 MI
To: @satelliteinasupernova
From: @specialagentartemis
Happy holidays!  I love writing about the Kurashiki siblings… they’re good kids and they deserve to be happy and alive every once in a while.
Ao3
The jeep tore up the red-rock scrub as they barrelled across the Mojave.  (It wasn’t really the Mojave Desert, Akane had informed him, before they’d flown out here; Building Q was farther north, nearer to… well, nearer to nothing, really, that was the point; there was nothing but bare rock and scruffy shrubs for miles and miles.)
Aoi, behind the wheel of their mostly legally acquired ATV, had decided to leave the road an hour ago.  “They’ll be fumbling their way out of the building any minute now,” he’d said.  “Would be kinda fucked if they caught up with us at this point.”
“Mmhm!” Akane said, brightly, not really listening to him.  She was riding in the passenger seat with the window rolled all the way down, her head tilted back, eyes closed, the wind from their solid 130 kph down the empty desert road whipping her hair around her face.
Even now, Aoi couldn’t help checking Akane with sidelong glances every few seconds, to reassure himself that she was real, that this was finally really happening.   They’d been working towards this day for nine years, but for Aoi, it had only ever been Akane’s insistence, Akane’s plans, Akane’s memories of the future he’d relied on; and she was always right, but.  It had still felt fake, on some level, still felt like Akane was chasing ghosts, and he had no choice but to trust the things that only she could see.
But it was real, and what’s more, they’d pulled it off with barely a single hitch, and if that wasn’t something like a miracle, Aoi didn’t know what was.
(Well.  Akane had told him that was how it would work - “How it has to,” she’d said, months ago, poring over a dense quantum physics journal late at night at the kitchen table of the unobtrusive apartment outside of Tokyo they’d been staying in that year.  “The failstates will collapse – paradoxes at that level will be unsustainable.  There will be… there will be a lot of timelines where we fail.  But they won’t matter, because the one where we survive will be the one where we succeed.  We won’t even have to remember the failures.”  You will, though, Aoi wanted to say, but she looked so… not even tired, though she was, but intense, serious and sharp and driven past any personal regard for health or comfort, that he didn’t want to dredge up an argument.  So he’d just said, “Lucky us, then, huh,” and got a bag of chips from the cabinet above the sink because he needed some excuse to stay in the room but let Akane continue her meticulous research.)
Dark apartments and brain-melting physics papers felt a world away now, though.  And that Akane was, too, which was the strangest part.  She was staring out the window, eyes bright, hair still whipping in her face but she didn’t mind, even though normally she kept it so carefully pulled back.  The car crashed over a low ridge and an animal like a deer startled at the movement.  It pranced away, almost snootily; and Akane laughed, delighted, her face lit up in the joy of moving fast and being in the sunshine and being alive, in a way Aoi hadn’t seen in her since… well, since she was twelve.
Twilight was falling as they rumbled through Oregon.  They’d left the desert behind for grasses, and then trees, and then temperate rainforests; people were still sparse, here, and they took pains to keep it that way, but the foliage was thick.  The setting sun cast the early autumn trees in a nearly golden glow; summer wasn’t over yet, here, and even at sunset the air was warm and the treetops warbled with birdsong.
Akane closed her eyes and let herself breathe it all in. The smell of pines, the end-of-summer flowers, fresh air, warm sunlight, the sound of the breeze in the needles and the feel of it on her skin.  Nine years of being a paradox, partially dead, a constant reminder of fire in the back of her brain and a tingle in her nerves when she felt time split - she’d forgotten what it felt like to be alive.  The world seemed brighter, the colors more vibrant, the air swirling with smells she’d either forgotten or been too busy (too focused, too distracted, too traumatized) to notice.
Alive, and untethered to weird twists of fate anymore.  It felt good to have the last slice of personal autonomy for her future back.  She’d missed that, more than anything.
“Think we should stop?” Aoi asked.  “How far is it left to the border?”
Akane checked her phone.  “Another five hundred miles.  Nine hours left to drive.”
Aoi let out a frustrated sigh through his teeth.  ”Fuck.  Why is America so big?”
“Aliens,” Akane said.
“Thanks.”
“We might as well stop to get something to eat, at least,” Akane said.  “There’s no point in driving all the way through tonight.  Junpei and Light and Clover and the others will have been found by someone, by now.  And whatever explanation they give, it’ll take a while to untangle the truth.  No one should be after us yet, I don’t think, and no one knows where we’re going.”  She rested her chin on her elbow, pensive now, and watched the shadows from the trees streak by.  “They all have their passports, but the moment they try to leave – if they haven’t gone to the police already – it will be obvious they’re not in the country legally.  That won’t be very good for any of them.”
“Unless you wanted to leave a signed confession in the glove compartment with them, I don’t know what else we’d do.”  The road was twisting and turning through thick trees now, and Aoi had to pay most of his attention to it.
“Mm.”  Akane sat back up and turned her attention to her phone.  The headiness of being alive and free again was starting to have to take a backseat to the new set of concerns that faced them.  “I wish there’d been more time to set up a stronger Crash Keys base in America –” Though that would have meant more years of waiting around, half-dead, beholden, planning but unable to effect those plans, aware of the timelines passing and branching but unable to do anything about it, and now that I’m free of it I know I would hate having to bear that for another minute –  “but can we use what we have to move those six through the process of getting back home more easily?  I’m not sure we have any operatives in positions that would help much, but I don’t want to leave them stranded here.  Maybe we could – wait.  Nii-chan.  Nii-chan.  Look at that.”
Aoi turned his head.  “What – ?” and then saw what Akane was looking at.  “You can’t be serious.”
They were moving slowly enough down this twisty road to both clearly read the brown sign standing almost desperately on the side:  BIGFOOT MUSEUM 10 MI.
Akane pulled a dramatically sad face.  “Oh, nii-chan, I’ve been to America so many times, and I haven’t even seen Bigfoot once.  You won’t deny me this chance, would you?”
“Do you actually want to go see it?” Aoi asked.  “Admit it, Akane, it looks like the fakest thing in the world.  You’ll be the most supernatural thing there.”
She punched him lightly on the shoulder.  “That’s part of the fun.  Besides, how can you know it’s fake until you see all the evidence, huh?”
Aoi rolled his eyes, but couldn’t help but grin, just a little bit.  “Well, maybe they’ll have Bigfoot burgers or something.  Make the stop worthwhile.”
“That’s the spirit!”
The Bigfoot Museum was, in fact, the fakest thing Aoi had ever seen.  It was the central attraction on the “main street” of a small town that was mostly woods, and it had a fifteen-foot-tall fiberglass statue of a hairy ape-man right outside the door so no one could possibly miss it.  A mock-log cabin on the outside, what looked like a renovated office inside, and practically half gift shop, it was about as kitschy as he expected.
(Akane loved it as much as he’d expected, though, so he could hardly begrudge it too much.)
For ten dollars each, a single tour guide in a knockoff park ranger’s hat led them through the few rooms, telling tales of drama and danger, and breathless escapes from strange beasts in the woods.  Here were photos from a logging camp in 1911, she said, gesturing at grainy sepia things blown up to poster size on the wall!  And the men who took these pictures – they swore to the end of their days that their saws and drills were destroyed by a shaggy, lumpy man-beast who roared at them to leave his woods!  (“Since when can Bigfoot talk?” Aoi asked Akane, and Akane nodded sagely.  “There must be many varieties of Bigfoot roaming the forests of Cascadia.  Several species in the same genus, you know.”  “Naturally.”)
The tour guide, a mid-twenties woman with a plastic nametag (Sophia, apparently), was way too into this.  Here, in a glass case on a pedestal, was a fragment of hair shot off Bigfoot by a hunter in 1972!  See low thick and lustrous it is; scientists were not able to identify it as a bear, or a moose, or a wolf, or anything else!  Or here – a life-size diorama of a Pacific Northwest scene, with Bigfoot front and center, and an awed and cowering logging crew running away!  Or here – press a button to listen to the firsthand accounts of some of these brave wilderness explorers who saw Bigfoot with their own eyes!  (Or here, some serious information about the Cascadia bioregion, local species, the diverse but fragile ecosystem, and how YOU can help support conservation efforts and protect local wildlife!  Including Bigfoot!)
Akane took it all in with the gravitas of a visiting professor conversing with another expert in her field.  She asked questions – “How often has Bigfoot been known to talk to people?”  “Has anyone posited a cladistic relationship between Bigfoot and the Tibetan Yeti?”  “Where were these clawmarks found?  They look so deep!”  They weren’t gotcha type questions, and they weren’t mean-spirited.  Sophia seemed thrilled to answer them.  Akane was having fun, allowing herself to have fun, and, well, this was the weird shit she’d always liked.
“Have you ever seen Bigfoot?” Akane asked her.  “Is he around here?”
“I wish,” Sophia said.  “And, honestly, who even knows if he’s real?”
“What?” Aoi said.  “Seriously?  You’ve been giving us the grand tour and you don’t even believe in Bigfoot?”
“I don’t not believe in Bigfoot,” Sophia said, sounding almost hurt.  “But that’s part of the fun.  The mystery.  If everyone knew for a fact that Bigfoot was real, this museum would be kinda boring.  You don’t see many brown bear museums, you know?  You have to have <i>something</i> out there to look for, or else what’s the point?“
That… okay.  Whatever.  Aoi shrugged, but Akane looked thoughtful, and then asked how many visitors who came through claimed to have seen Bigfoot.
There was an associated cafe around the back, and they did sell Bigfoot Burgers.
“Fucking morphogentic fields,” Aoi said, through bites of extremely mediocre and very greasy meat and cheese and bread.
Akane twirled a Bigfoot keychain around her finger idly.  She’d bought it at the gift shop, because, in her own words, “Why not?”
Night had fallen, now, and the Bigfoot Museum was closing at eight.  Akane was staring off into the woods only a dozen meters away, that swallowed the yellow light from the museum and the streetlights in pitch darkness.
“Looking for Bigfoot?” Aoi asked.
“Just thinking,” Akane said. Then, after a pause, “Is this what being alive feels like?”
“Donno,” Aoi said.  “You tell me.”
“It’s definitely different.”  She wasn’t sure how to explain it.   But it was different, from how she’d been the past nine years.  Like something had lifted, and she could see more clearly.  And could feel more clearly the creeping dread of the something she’d been trying to figure out for the past nine years, something she’d gotten jumbled flashes of that day in the incinerator, something that this time around, more pieces fell into place.  They were still elusive, still jumbled, but the feeling was clear.  Emotions passed over the fields more easily than information, Akane had found, through her reading, and her own experimentation.  She could pull information now, of course, pull memories from other timelines and other lives as easily as she could from her own past, but there was something else lurking in her mind she couldn’t quite catch all the information for.  But it was big, and it was coming soon, and she had a few threads of leads that she knew they would have to start following as soon as possible.  (A face crystallized in her mind, this time around, a name: Sigma Klim.  She would absolutely be following up on this.)
Aoi looked over at her, strangely.  Did he know?  Probably not; he had never accessed the future, the way she had.  But she was sure he knew, as well as she did, that there was still a lot of trial and hardship ahead of them.  They couldn’t have built the Crash Keys the way they did without being able to impress on them that they wouldn’t just be saving Akane’s life, they would be saving the world.
But that’s not just yet.  She’s finally free.  They can spare one day to be carefree.
She smiled.  “I’ve missed this.”
He smiled back, hesitantly.  Then, “We should probably get going.  The six of them will definitely have run into someone who’s realized that they shouldn’t be here.”
“That’s true,” Akane said.  She stood up and stretched.  “We won’t make it to Canada tonight.  Ikeda knows to have the jet there tomorrow, in any case.  We can drive until we find a motel, or a campsite.  Sleep in the car, if we have to.”
“I’d prefer a motel, if it’s all the same to you,” Aoi said.  “I do not want to wake up and drive another ten hours after sleeping in a car.”
“Very fair.”  She waved goodbye to Sophia, who was closing up the museum, then headed over to the gravel driveway where the car was parked.  “Want me to drive this time?”
Aoi swung into the passenger seat.  “Go right ahead.”
Akane tossed her hair and straightened her back.  She did want to get at least another two or three hours of driving in before stopping for the night.
She noticed Aoi watching her, a strange expression on his face.  “Hmm?”
“Just – nothing,” he said.  Then, “I’ve missed you, Akane.”
She smiled, determinedly, almost sadly, as she revved up the car and pulled back onto the road.  “I’ve missed me, too.”

Basically my experiences with Zero Escape can be expressed with a “do it for her” graphic starring Akane Kurashiki. I adore her in all her complex, morally ambiguous, well-intentioned extremist, Machiavellian glory. So here’s my mix tribute to her, complete with the usual obsessively detailed annotations under the cut.
AAA
Fairly self-explanatory, this song easily applies to a girl who jumps timelines, changes history and tosses aside moral concerns for the big picture and greater good.
“time comes in particles” someone once said and this is what i remember/this is how my brain works.
.you won’t become numb, i won’t stay the same. if i try hard enough i can cry paper planes and we’ll connect the dots in the history books and you’ll see the bigger picture, i’ll shrink down the greater good.
Akane will do anything to stave off the apocalypse and every time she reunites with Junpei or other friends, they’re always completely different versions of themselves.
i think a storm is moving in. so watch out for our favorite apocalypse. and who will we be the next time we meet?
Uma Thurman
This song struck me as Junpei’s POV in the first game, where Akane is manipulating him like a boss, doing whatever it takes to stay alive and even hitching a ride in his brainspace and hey, he seemed pretty okay with that.
I can work a miracle/keep you like an oath/May nothing but death do us part /You'll find your way/And may death find you alive
She wants to dance like Uma Thurman/Bury me 'til I confess/She wants to dance like Uma Thurman/And I can't get you out of my head
Divide me down to the smallest I can be/Put your venom in me
Oh no!
"Junpei, I will never forget you. But please, forget me. You need to forget...I won’t let anything get in the way of my goals. That’s just  the kind of person I am. Even if that means I must lose my life, I swear I'll make the AB Project a success!"
Don't do love, don't do friends/I'm only after success/Don't need a relationship/I'll never soften my grip
I know exactly what I want and who I want to be/I know exactly why I walk and talk like a machine/I'm now becoming my own self-fulfilled prophecy
One track mind, one track heart
I’m gonna live/I’m gonna fly/I’m gonna fail/ I’m gonna die
Cold War
"This will be the culmination of many years of hard work. We cannot afford failure."
So you think that I'm alone/But being alone is the only way to be/When you step outside/You spend life fighting for your sanity/This is a cold war/You better know what you're fighting for
Just One Yesterday
Probably primarily addressed at Junpei. She’s “teaching him (and the others) a lesson” by putting them in the Nonary game, giving him the information he needs to know so she can succeed. It’s all so she can save her past self,  her “yesterday”. She doesn’t care if she dies many times in the process.
(I know I’m bad news)/(I saved it all for you)I want to teach you a lesson in the worst kind of way/Still I’d trade all my tomorrows for just one yesterday
And then after all that? She leaves him behind because she has more important things to do.
And I’m here to give you all of my love/So I can watch your face as I take it all away
Strings and Attractors
I went around and read some extra material about Akane, and apparently the future version of her in VLR gets so good at projecting herself through the connected timelines she becomes really detached and basically omnipotent in a way. She “loses herself” in all the repeating timelines, and this song expresses those feelings.
And sometimes I/Get lost in time
The moment fading/We watch the end/Over again/And keep repeating
I feel like I'm just disappearing
Playing for Keeps
This song is Akane addressing her former kidnappers, as she masterfully arranges it so they kill each other. Revenge is sweet
"I must punish them. For the innocent lives they sacrificed. This is the only warning they will receive."
It's a lonely road where the forgotten go/Where your misery finds its company It's a long way down to the sacred ground/Where the reapers playing for keeps
You're next in line for judgement day now/Aren't you praying, aren't you begging that you're anyone else?
Well I bet you're sorry now/Well you did this to yourself
Still alive
GLaDOS/Akane OTP? They kind of have the same ends-justifies-the-means attitudes when it comes to their experiments on people, so this song fits Akane well, especially adding in some vengefulness towards her kidnappers. Amusingly, Junpei indicated (in an assholish way) that Akane is also pretty fond of cake in ZTD, so even that part fits.
We do what we must/because we can/For the good of all of us./Except the ones who are dead.
Look at me, still talking when there's science to do/When I look out there, it makes me glad I'm not you./I've experiments to run/There is research to be done/On the people who are still alive.
Black Sheep
You could consider this from Sigma’s POV or basically any of Akane’s accomplices in her apocalypse-erasing plan. She (and Sigma and Phi and co) knew the world was going to end. They prepared for it and now Akane’s going to get everyone working to change the past.
Hello again, friend of a friend/I knew you when/Our common goal was waiting for the world to end/Now that the truth is just a rule that you can bend/You crack the whip, shape-shift and trick the past again
Also she’s gonna get a base on the freakin’ moon
Got real estate, I'm buying it all up in outer space
Castle
Akane the cult-leader. She rules her organization with a iron fist and she’s ready to dethrone the old man in charge of the rival cult.
I'm headed straight for the castle/They wanna make me their queen/And there's an old man sitting on the throne that's saying that I probably shouldn't be so mean
Oh, all these minutes passing, sick of feeling used/if you wanna break these walls down, you’re gonna get bruised/And now my neck is open wide, begging for a fist around it/Already choking on my pride, so there's no use crying about it
I am not a robot
Akane having to deal with emogothedgyJunpei, God pity her. Also applies to how she tends to suppress her feelings and vulnerability as well.
“I’m done playing action hero...I’m an adult now”
“Actually, Junpei, you seem pretty childish to me.”
You've been acting awful tough lately/Smoking a lot of cigarettes lately/But inside, you're just a little baby
I'm vulnerable/I am not a robot/You're lovable/But you're just troubled
Soap
“Junpei told me I was a girl who “said things that shouldn’t be said.”
Uh-oh, there it goes, I said too much, it overflowed/Why do I always spill?
I feel it coming out my throat/Guess I better wash my mouth out with soap/God, I wish I never spoke
Academia
“This girl here, she’s always been really smart. If even the tiniest thing is off she’ll start talking about “ifs” and “buts” like someone twice her age. But to all of us at grade school, she was strange. And well, kind of scary.”
Oh Academia, you can pick me up, soothe me with your words when I need your love./You're a difficult equation with a knack for heart evasion/Will you listen to my proof or will you add another page on?
Hope on Fire
Akane building and doing everything she can to manipulate time and prevent the apocalypse from happening again, even deliberately getting herself stabbed to death.
gotta leave gotta bleed/you've gotta stop lying still/'cause this is no kind of life/you don't need guarantees/you just want something to build/before you turn to the knife
gotta move gotta choose/you've got a difference to make/don't watch it happen again/gotta change rearrange/something's bending to break/it's just a matter of when
Blindness
Akane didn’t want for any of this to happen. She was a victim of circumstance. She was forced into the role of savior of humanity- she chose to accept it  and ruthlessly did what needed to be done rather than run away, but there’s no way she doesn’t get weary of jumping timelines over and over again.
All the survivors singing in the rain/I was the one with the world at my feet/Got us a battle, leave it up to me
What it is and where it stops nobody knows/You gave me a life I never chose/I wanna leave but the world won't let me go

Fuyuhiko X Reader: Despair Disease
I got out of bed with a severe headache, but I still headed over to the restaurant. I groaned and then fell to the ground. “A-ah, not (Y/N) t-too!” I heard Mikan say before I passed out.
I then woke up in the restaurant, but something didn’t feel right. I looked around the room, and felt, entranced at Fuyuhiko. I grinned as my vision blurred at times. “(Y/N), Akane, Nagito, and Ibuki are all infected with Despair Disease.” Monokuma said, but I was still staring at a now flustered Fuyuhiko. “Akane has the Crybaby Disease, Nagito has the Lying Disease, Ibuki has the Gullible Disease, and (Y/N) has the Love Disease.”
Fuyuhiko nodded, “Figured that out quickly,” He said pointing at me, as I was still looking at him with half-lidded eyes.
“W-we need to k-k-keep them away from e-everyone so it doesn’t spread q-quickly.” Mikan stuttered out.
I spoke my mind and walked to Fuyuhiko, “ I think I should stay with Fuyuhiko.” I said with a giggle at the end, making the Ultimate Assassin seem nonexistent. Fuyuhiko looked away as I hugged him tightly.
“D-don’t fuck with me (Y/N), you have the Despair Disease, you don’t want to stay with me.”
Monokuma decided to butt in with, “Actually, the Despair Disease makes the person have thoughts and do things they wouldn’t with the person they love, aka, The Love Disease!” Then he vanished in thin air.
“P-please take (Y/N) away before I do something I shouldn’t.” Fuyuhiko said, walking out of the restaurant.
I groaned, “Noo, Fuyuhiko, don’t leave me.” I cried in ‘pain’ as Mikan and Hajime dragged me to the hospital.
-Timeskip-
I sat in the bed as Mikan checked my temperature again. “Am I getting better, Mikan?” I asked quietly.
Mikan nodded, “Y-yes you are defiantly bett-better then you first got the Disease when you a-almost…um ki-kissed Fuyuhiko.” She stuttered, blushing a little. I groaned and fell back to the bed,
“Shit, my reputation as a ‘A+ Assassin’ is ruined, now I’m know as a love filled shit head.”
Mikan shook her head, “Fuyuhiko k-knows you l-like him…”
I sat up and looked at her wide eyed, “HOW DID HE FIND OUT?!” I shouted at Mikan, making her flinch and cry a little,
“M-Monokuma said that y-you would only f-flirt with the one you love.” She said covering her face. I slumped my shoulders, and looked up as the door opened.
Fuyuhiko stood in the doorway, scratching the back of his head, “Is the dumbass okay for company?” He asked in his rough tone of voice.
Mikan nodded, wiping the few tears from her eyes, “Y-yes, we were j-just talking about you, I’ll leave you t-two alone.” Mikan stuttered before walking out. I fell back onto my bed,
“So what’re doing here, going to reject me? Call me a dumba- oh wait you already did.” I turned my head to the wall, trying to ignore him.
“No fucker, I’m here to talk to you about what happened a few days ago.” He said looking to the side.
“Oh, you mean when I lost my dignity as an assassin, when you found out my crush on you.” I groaned and shoved my pillow on my face, “Just get this rejection over with.” I felt the bed dip and the pillow was pulled off my face.
“I’m not rejecting your dumbass,” He then kissed my forehead, “I’m returning the feelings.” He stated turning his head to the side and flushed red. I smiled softly at the baby gangsta’s face, “You know you missed right?” He whipped his face around to face mine, “W-what do you mean dumbass?!”
I smiled and pulled his face to mine, making our lips meet. He tensed up at first, not knowing what to do, but slowly raised his hand to my head to pull us closer and softened into the kiss. I smirked against the kiss, and licked his bottom lip, making him tense up again. I laughed at him and pulled away, seeing him wide eyed and blushing super hard. “D-dumbass, don’t surprise me like that.”
I smirked and moved my face close to his, “Well, I am the Ultimate Assassin, so I might kill your lips without you knowing.” I whispered against his lips, watching as his eyes went wide and his ears got all red.
“A-are you still sick with that Despair Disease or somethin’ (Y/N)?”
I shook my head, “No, Mikan said I’m okay, I’m just surprised you like me back, baby gangsta.”
His eyes darkened and he pinned me to the bed, “Don’t. Call. Me. Baby. Gangsta.” He growled.
“I-is (Y/N) doing o-okay?” Mikan said, opening the door, and took in our position of him pinning me to the bed. She flushed red, “O-oh I’m sorry, I should’ve knocked, u-um make s-sure you use p-p-protection…” She stuttered out as she shut the door.
I looked back at Fuyuhiko, “Great, you scarred her innocent mind.”
He growled again, “You’re the one that got me into this position dumbass!”
I grabbed the back of his head and pulled him back into a kiss, “Well, she is going to leave us alone for a bit.” I said with a smirk.
“Want to make use of it?”
-Extended Ending-
Sonia looked worried, “Has anyone seen Fuyuhiko or (Y/N)?”
“Maybe they were killed!” Kazuichi said, “Well, they were last seen at  the hospital, let’s head there!”
They then headed over to the hospital, “(Y/N)! Fuyuhiko! Where are you!” They heard shuffling and muffled cussing. Then the hallway door opened to a flustered Fuyuhiko with many hickies on his neck and a (Y/N) with very messy hair, not standing right, and hickies on her neck as well.
(Y/N) smiled softly, “Yes, is there anything you guys need?”
The rest if the group put two and two together and flushed darkly, “N-no, we just thought you were murdered…”
(Y/N) smiled darkly, “Well I did murder Fuyuhiko’s-”
 “SHUT UP DUMBASS”
“Oh, so your talking about the ass yo-”
“I SAID BE QUIET!”
The group got the idea and left the room, not coming back for a few hours at most.
(I posted this on Wattpad too, so I didn’t steal another one’s writing)

Amazoness Quartet New VAs Express Their Excitement to Join Sailor Moon Eternal Films
Following the three for Amazon Trio, the official website for the upcoming two-part film Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie has announced the voice cast for the four members of Amazoness Qualtet, another villain team of the films: Reina Ueda as CereCere, Sumire Morohoshi as PallaPalla, Yuko Hara as JunJun, and Rie Takahashi as VesVes. The site and the film's official Twitter have posted their messages to express their excitement to join the films.
手強い敵をにぎやかに演じます????https://t.co/i6DEbvCoU7#劇場版セーラームーン pic.twitter.com/TIUoExXVj6

CereCere: Reina Ueda (Akane Shinjo in SSSS.Gridman):
"When I was asked to join the films, I felt a lot of pressure, but I was also very happy. I spent almost every day of my childhood watching my favorite stories on the Sailor Moon DVD that my mother bought for me, and while I was watching it, I felt like I was the Sailor Guardian myself, and I couldn't help but enjoy it. I still remember many of the scenes vividly. Thinking back to my childhood when I was so absorbed in the series, I wanted to cherish the feelings I had at the time and do my best to deliver them well. CereCere-san's visuals are very feminine, soft, and glamorous, and she has a cool side that makes you feel confident and margin of her mind. I tried to play her fluffy cheerfulness very carefully. More than anything else, I felt that the four members of Amazoness Quartet, including CereCere, have received a lot of love from the audience and have continued to refine their characters. I have done my best to bring out their personalities and charms. I hope you will look forward to seeing them in the films."

PallaPalla: Sumire Morohoshi (Ichigo Hoshimiya in Aiktatsu!):
"Everyone knows Sailor Moon, which has been loved by so many people since even before I was born. When I was little, I was pretty much addicted to the Sailor Moon Family Computer games we had at home. When I was asked to appear in such Sailor Moon, I felt honored, but at the same time I felt a sense of responsibility and nervousness, like 'I needed to put all my mind to it.' I was immediately drawn to her charms from the moment I saw the early footage of PallaPalla to join an audition for the role, so I really wanted to play her. I was very happy to see my wish come true. She is in the position as the youngest sister in Amazoness Quartet, but I wanted to express her childishness and innocence to make her as the character to be loved by the audience, even though she is a villain role. I tried my best to express her personality and charm in my own way, such as speaking lispingly, changing her facial expressions so often, and expressing her emotions honestly. I hope you'll all be looking forward to it!"

Jun Jun: Yuko Hara (Takumi Mukai in The Idolm@sters Cinderella Girls)
"I loved Sailor Moon so much that when I was little, my parents bought me a costume and I spent the whole day playing Sailor Moon. When I heard the audition result, I was so happy. I never thought I'd be able to star in such a big production, so I was very anxious until I got the recording script. I was properly surprised one more time after receiving it (laughs). My character JunJun is a bit rough with words, but she's very passionate. I hope I can give you a character that's not just strong, but also passionate. Also, JunJun and the rest of the Amazoness Quartet members are also a circus group, so I hope we can make it fun and exciting. They are very exciting films, so please come to the theater and let your heart buzz with excitement!"

VesVes: Rie Takahashi (Megumin in KonoSuba, Emilia in Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World):
"The first video game I ever became obsessed with was one based on 'Sailor Moon S.' I decorated cakes and played dress-up in the game, and the BGM and screens are still etched in my mind. I never thought I'd ever be involved in Sailor Moon. I felt honored enough to be able to audition for the role, so I was surprised and delighted at even playing it. VesVes is a striking character with beautiful and eye-catching red hair. From the ways she uses her whip and she tames the ravenous beast, I tried to play her with passion and girlishness based on her queenly behavior. With great care for the relationship we made this time, the cast of Amazoness Quartet worked as one team! I myself am looking forward to seeing how the girls will move, talk, and stir up the story. I hope you'll be looking forward to the release!"
