catching up!! watching 911 season 7 episode 1!! let's goooo

the first three minutes of this episode are like "athena watched a cruise ship disaster on tv and it affected her for life. here's a cruise ship disaster we're putting on your tv (hehehe)."

athena going full "norman peterson murdered his wife!!!" and bobby being very convinced that he didn't and athena is making things up to avoid him is a) finally a funny turn for this subplot and b) even funnier in light of bobby's behavior in the rear window episode.

one of the things about this show that i still think was a terrible writing choice is the way they killed shannon, so i'm glad they're at least dealing with the impact all of the parental shuffling and absence had on christopher. it's great that they brought the actress back for that one moment.

"did i read the spreadsheet wrong?", reminding me of the spreadsheet, and "did something else happen on a call?", meaning maddie immediately knows what would have changed chimney's mind again - maddie and chimney are flawless, no notes.

THEY took lola!! so that's how the ship activity manager or whatever that guy with the weird vibe's job is will turn out to be evil and/or in evil cahoots with lola

Blurb Advent 2023: Day 25

ahhh amazing, I was hoping someone would ask for this again lmao, it was the push I needed to actually finish it!

It's set in during the munch chapter. Mostly fluffy with maybe a little angst just from some of the thoughts he's having. It was a lot of fun figuring out and writing so I'd defs be open to doing more of these in the future! Also, it's officially Christmas Day for me here so for those who celebrate, merry christmas! I hope this is a decent sort of present lmao.

Warnings: Modern AU, smut, professor x student, slowburn romance, dom/sub dynamics and discussion of them, munch, conversations about bdsm/kink, body painting, mentions of Dylan, a mention of sexual abuse/rape but nothing graphic and only in a theoretical way.

Roger had been a little reluctant to leave you on your own, but you’d seemed to be doing alright talking to Daisy and Jo and he knew he couldn’t hover around you all day. So he asked Mike to join him in the kitchen, a little curious to see what the other man had made of you so far. And he didn’t have to wait long to find out. “Well Y/N is just as lovely as you said. Bit shy but that’s understandable.” Mike said as he watched Roger crack eggs into the brownie mix, “How’s it going with her?” “In one word, surprising.” “Oh?” Roger decided how best to elaborate as he mixed the batter, “I don’t want to go into too much detail-” “Right, cause you’ve never been the sort to kiss and tell,” Mike laughed. Roger laughed too but shook his head, “No it’s going well I think. She’s still learning, but she’s getting there. Like we played around with some dirty talk recently. Partly just cause, y’know, it’s hot, but also because you’re right, she can be a bit shy. And I’m trying to get her to feel less self-conscious when vocalising what she wants. She was hesitant at first but once she got into it some of what she came out with was...” It was impossible to explain so Roger opted to just gesture emphatically with his hands. Mike just laughed, “That certainly does sound like fun.” “Oh, it was.” Roger swallowed thickly as he remembered how you’d sounded admitting that you think about him. He hoped Mike wouldn’t ask too many questions because even just thinking about it now was making his cock twitch and he didn’t want to be too distracted during the munch. But it was hard when he kept hearing your whiney confessions replaying in his mind. When you’d confessed to masturbating more often than ever before. She seems like a sweet kid.” “Yeah,” Roger chuckled, “Mostly.” “What’d you mean?” “Look, she is a lot of things – dedicated, intelligent, curious – but she’s also very....” he paused as he tried to find the right word, “You ever have a sub that just wants to rush into everything?” Mike nodded sympathetically. “She wants to know it all now, not later. And she’s always questioning the importance of what I’m trying to teach her.” “Yeah I’ve known one or two subs like that. They think they know best even though they know nothing.” “Yeah, exactly. I mean, we’ve had arguments about it. I try explaining why I’ve picked what I’ve picked to teach her and usually I get her to accept it even if she disagrees but last week she just wouldn’t let it go. So I got pissed off, probably snapped at her more than she deserved and basically told her it was my way or the highway.” “I wouldn’t beat yourself up too much, everyone has moments like that.” “Yeah but that’s not really how I want this thing with her to be. I’d just been saying it was okay if she wanted to say no to learning something or to alter kinks to suit her better, and then I turn around and tell her to suck it up and do what I say or else. That’s not the lesson I want her to learn from all this.” “Rog I think you’re being a little harsh on yourself. I’m sure she understands the difference.”

“I know, you’re probably right. I just....She approached me to teach her so she could impress this other guy and he is...” Roger paused again but only so he could take a steadying breath and unclench his hand from his wooden spoon, “I don’t know him, but he sounds like a real piece of work. But she is determined to have him. I just want to make sure she’s prepared and knows enough to protect herself because I worry what could happen to her.” “You sure you’re not jealous?” Mike asked with a raised eyebrow and a joking grin, “I saw how you were watching her before.” “I was making sure she wasn’t too overwhelmed by everything.” “Mmhmm sure.” “Oh shut up, it’s not jealousy. No, this guy is into some really hard stuff – CNC, free use, somnophilia. She told me he’s even joked about pimping her out to his friends. I’m genuinely worried that if she goes back to him he’ll drug and rape her and she’ll think it’s kink. I need to make sure she understands the difference.” The smile had fallen from Mike’s face as he took Roger’s concern in, “Fuck, really?” Roger nodded, “I’m so conscious that there’s a time limit.” The was a pause as Mike considered what to say, “You’re a good dom Rog. Tina will’ve taken one look at the kid and got very mother hen about her, and you know Jo and Daisy’ll look out for her too.” “Yeah,” Roger sighed, some of the anxiety that had started to build at the thought of Dylan easing off. He pulled a smile onto his face and changed the topic, hoping he had enough time.

When he came back into the main room, Roger immediately looked for you, even as he was laughing at Mike’s stupid joke. Seeing you sitting with the other women was a relief. It was like Mike had said it would be, they’d all taken a shine to you and he could already see that he’d be constantly fielding questions about you from all of them. But then you looked up, and there was something in your expression that made his eyebrows furrow. He forced himself to look away as he announced dessert. “Ooo brownie? Yes please,” Daisy sounded so excited by the prospect Roger couldn’t help but laugh. “It’s just a packet mix, don’t get too excited.” But Daisy hurried towards the patio all the same, closely followed by Jo and then Tina who grabbed Mike as she went, perhaps sensing Roger’s desire for a private word. It was hard for Roger not to be concerned when you rose slower than the others and reached him after they’d all disappeared. He felt as if you’d have walked right past him if he’d not caught your arm. You seemed almost surprised to see him. “Hey, how are you going? He asked softly, hoping he sounded normal, “Not too overwhelmed? I know they can be kind of loud but-”

You moved quicker than Roger was prepared for and he staggered back a little as your lips met his, but nothing was as surprising as how purposeful the kiss felt. Your lips pressed hard to his, your arms wrapping around his neck and without thinking Roger tugged you in close, not sure what had brought on the sudden display of affection but not wanting to interrupt it either. He liked kissing you and it felt too nice to question it much. Thankfully you seemed to want the kiss to continue as much as he did, though that did mean the end of it was just as unexpected as the start. “What - uh – what was that for?” Roger asked, trying to blink some sense back into his brain. “For looking after me.” It took a moment longer than it might have before you’d kissed him, but eventually the pieces all fell into place and he nodded his realisation, “I take it you heard about Daisy’s ex then?” “Yeah, and some other stuff.” Before Roger could even begin to wonder what the other stuff could be or to reassure at all, you continued. “Sorry I’ve been so stubborn about things. I made it harder for you. But I think I understand now.” “Understand what?” “About why it’s not all about what Dylan wants.” That was the last thing Roger had expected to hear and for a moment he considered whether you might have overheard his conversation with Mike. But he couldn’t deny that he was pleased with your admission, and he found himself smiling as he took you in again, “You have no idea how happy I am to hear that. Do you want to talk about it later, after everyone goes?” “Maybe.”

He reached for your hand but thought better of it, switching instead to rubbing your arm in what he hoped was a comforting way. The last thing he wanted was to make you feel pushed into talking before you were ready and yet he was dying to know more. He wanted to send everyone else home right then so he could ask you about what made you understand. He wanted to kiss you again, kiss you a lot, too, just to show you how glad he was. And he wanted to tell you what hadn’t felt right to say the previous week. That he thinks about you too, much more often than he should. That he worries for you and wants to keep you safe. But it would have killed the mood during the last session, and it felt like too much to admit now. Too big of a conversation for right then. And besides, he’s not even sure how to say any of it properly. Mike had assumed jealousy and he doesn’t want you to think the same thing. So instead all he said was, “C’mon, you look like you need some sugar, let’s go eat dessert,” as he gently lead you outside.

But he did get his chance later. Once again, you’ve surprised him. In a good way, of course. For someone who was so against sensory play to start you’d sure taken to it like a duck to water. He would have felt terrible if you’d found it boring or uninspiring. But instead he got to enjoy a fairly relaxed evening with you. And relaxing was what he needed after how tense he’d been throughout the munch. You needed it too, he decided. Not just because of how draining it was to meet new people and come to world shattering realisations, but also because he’d asked a lot of you over the past few weeks. You’d tried so many new things and been pulled out of your comfort zones. It felt right to offer you an intimate experience that was less intense than what you might have been expecting. He let you just enjoy the sensations and quietly process the day as he prattled on with all the stuff he’d planned for his lesson. And each time you squirmed or giggled when he painted somewhere ticklish, he felt especially pleased. Although, not quite as pleased as he felt when you asked if you could paint him. That was a good sign if ever he’d seen one. Not just that you were enjoying the moment, getting out of your head, but also that you could be interested in taking more control. Of course, wanting to paint on him was not the same as wanting to be dominant in a more explicitly kinky scene, but it was a step in that direction. He watched you closely as you painted his shoulder, wondering if he could ever interest you in testing the waters further. He could feel himself getting harder at the idea of you domming him and tried to focus on what he had to tell you about different paints. It was hard though when you were so close. He could feel your breath as you leaned in, focusing on getting the shape right, and you were so close. You’d been closer, of course, but not like this. It made him shiver as he supressed the urge to pull you into a kiss. And then you leaned back and he mentioned Margo and suddenly things had dissolved into something much sillier. He was nearly breathless from laughing but seeing his finger prints on your arse made him giggle again and something about it pleased him greatly. But then he looked down and saw his cock covered in blue, the paint more evenly distributed where your palm had been, thinner under your fingers. He swallowed hard when he realised he could see your fingerprints in the paint.

After that things quieted down again. He liked watching you while you painted him, content not to say too much. There was nothing more he had to teach about sensation play, he’d given you all the important information. You were quiet too which was understandable. There was a lot to process from the munch and he supposed dwelling on it while mindlessly painting was as good a time as any. He was just glad to be with you, playing with paint, able to make sure you were okay. And then suddenly, apropos of nothing, you asked how he’d gotten into BDSM. It was a surprise but Roger was happy to answer and he liked that you’d asked the others too, that you’d been seeking out other perspectives. Without meaning to he started telling you about his father. It wasn’t something he’d intended to share, it wasn’t something he really talked about ever. But he wanted you to understand what an affect it had had on his approach to doming, especially now you seemed to have grasped what he’d been trying to teach you about submission and power. “The line between kink and straight out violence can become very thin at times and there are a lot of people who don’t understand the difference, and some who do but ignore it anyway.” He wanted to tell you that maybe Dylan was one of those people, hopefully the first group more than the second. He wanted to let you know that thinking about what Dylan could do to you, what he fears he would do to you if given the chance, makes him more anxious and worried than anything else. But he didn't want to scare you. And he didn’t want you to think he’d overreacting because he doesn’t actually know Dylan at all. It’s all just assumptions based on what you’ve said. So he keeps that bit to himself, hoping that telling you what he has is enough to keep you mindful about who you engage in kink with.

Quiet falls again but it’s comfortable, despite the heavy topic. Roger could say more but he gives you time to think about it, absorb it all. So it’s not until he takes the brush back that he asks his own question. “Did you mean what you said in front of the mirror?” It had just slipped out. He was going to ask what else you’d discussed at the munch, if there was anything else you wanted his perspective on. But the mirror scene was never far from the top of his thoughts at the moment and it had pushed through just as he opened his mouth. You were clearly embarrassed to talk about it and Roger tried not to focus on how cute you were when he flustered you. He can feel your warmth when he rubs your thigh, trying to comfort you a little. He gets why you’re uncomfortable. He’s your professor, you’re his student. You’re not meant to think of each other in these ways. But he does. You’re bewitching, how could he not? And he thinks maybe if you know those thoughts you’ve been having are mutual, you won’t have as much reason to be embarrassed by them. So he admits the thing he’s not supposed to. “I think about you too.” This time you’re the one who looks surprised and Roger can’t help but feel a little pleased that he’s got you back, just a little, for how frequently you’ve surprised him of late. He wants to say more – that he doesn’t just think of you, that he dreams of you. That after you leave he’ll spend the next night replaying the sex in his mind, jerking off thinking about you. That he spends longer than he should planning your lessons, longer than he spends on his real lessons sometimes. He always gets caught up imagining how you’ll react to things, how you’ll respond, hoping you’ll enjoy what he plans to do to you. He wants you to know that he loves teaching you this stuff, loves how you approach everything with curiosity. Loves....your enthusiasm. But he can’t admit that. You’ve already had to absorb so much today and it’s been such a nice evening. He doesn’t want to overwhelm you. So he asks you more, just to keep himself from saying too much.

💫 what is your favorite kind of comment/feedback?

Okay this one I’m taking time to answer because I’m gonna use some real examples (because I never delete shit from my AO3 inbox and I'm feeling a little self-indulgent this morning) so strap in:

1. Comments left in the bookmarks. It’s rare, I’ve only ever had it happen twice. But it’s a little window into someone else’s view and I love that shit.

In one someone quotes a line from the fic itself and follows it up with “I’m gonna use that, maybe, once I get bitches, gotta cut my hair for that.” The once I get bitches part had me genuinely laugh out loud for the first time in I don’t know how long. I really hope their endeavour panned out for them 🤣

2. Comments that quote parts of your own fic. I love seeing what parts of a piece of dialogue or scene really resonated with people.

This was fantastic! Oh especially the whole show bit, I enjoyed it too damn much! So well-written and funny, I was grinning like crazy! “But I work in a morgue, so the guys at work are not exactly the sort of stiff I want to be picking up. Naked Attraction please help me find a man who isn’t mortified to go home with a mortician!” - I remember this from the snippets and it's brilliant!

3. Comments from the same username on several chapters of a multi chapter. Those people are the bees knees and fill me with the warm fuzzies.

I can’t even begin to tell you how my heart soars whenever I see your name, @blondelunaa, @abihastastybeans and @practicecourts doing this. 10/10 kudos to you guys.

4. The “Sorry, I got too engrossed and forgot to comment” or “Re-reading!” Kind of comments. With fandom it sometimes feels like something is dead after a week without new kudos etc coming in. But comments like these prove that people are still reading and appreciating long after that.

Oooh ive gushed over this chapter before, but wow- this patronus scene is everything and more. I love the image of the stag, so powerful and magnificent - ima sucker for patronus reveals but this one takes the cake 🤩 and the end is perfect !!

5. The requests for more or a prequel/ sequel. Again rare (for me anyway). I got a few of these on a microfic but I’m gonna share the one:

I am obligated to inform you that I'm in dire need of a sequel. Or prequel. Or both, I won't complain...

6. The paragraph. I think these are the kind of comments everyone loves to get. Just a full paragraph of gushing about something you made.

Oh my goshhhh!!!! My heart!!!!!!! Thank you so very much for writing this <3 This is a perfect, heartfelt, beautiful glimpse into the "after" I requested. I'm so happy they resolved all their feelings! I love the sweet domesticity of the line "it's just me", like they're already an old married couple in Godrics, instead of two teenagers in the Heads Dorms. I feel like that line really helped set the tone of intimacy for the rest of the fic. I'm glad they talked about all their feelings and James doesn't have to be broody anyone xx Thank you for sharing Charms!

Ahhh the drama in this one!! Loved the James and Lily interactions. Sweet to see Alice and Lily's friendship in person for this one! Got some satisfaction from James hitting Pettigrew I won't lie lol. Glad to see Lily's not pregnant (yet)! Excited to see how you wrap this up!

11. The unexpected compliment comment. Someone paying your work a comment you weren’t expecting. I’ve highlighted a few here that I go back to when I feel like just throwing in the proverbial towel:

Hot damn, this is best court room scene I’ve ever read in fanfiction and most published novels. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time! I’ve been devouring this fic quickly because the dialogue is so freaking good- the perfect combination of fun banter but with a realistic flow- I feel like I’m reading conversations with my own friends. Also I don’t know if this makes sense but they everyone’s Britishness jumps off the page in a way that I love.

Woah! Broken can be a beautiful place to start. Mind blowing and emotionally a masterwork

Just read all of this in one sitting, love your writing! Look forward to reading more of your fics

Asfjksagf this fic is amazing!! It's nighttime here now and I thought to myself that I would just read a couple chapters and then finish it tomorrow - but I COULD NOT put it down!!! Had to devour it all together!! It was just so novel, so interesting, so fun! And the final scene with James holding and hugging Lily from behind had me positively melting the whole time ;A; incredible! <3

I’ve just found this story and I binged the whole thing \o/ Thank you so much for sharing it. The soulmate concept can be so tricky to navigate and I imagine it’s hard to come up with fresh takes on the Lily/James Patronus storyline, but all of this came together so seamlessly and the narrative is so engaging. Such a lovely experience, and I’m incredibly grateful to have stumbled upon it! Phenomenally done! \o/

Let me just scream about fish a little hehe (praying that this actually sends cause my internet is so weird rn aaa)

I've read 3 of the Song Fish chapters and I love how different the story is compared to Deep Dreams and also how it's different. At first I thought that 'oh it's gonna be a complete repeat sort of' but it's been very different so far and I'm really enjoying it!

I love how you're writing y/n this time around with their phobias of deep oceans and large objects/creatures. It's so well painted and described through your beautiful writing. I can very easily put myself in their shoes and really feel their terror, it's fantastic!

I was so giddy when I realized that Deep Dreams and Song Fish are connected, like really connected with them taking place in the same place just some years apart. AAA I LOVE IT!!

I'm a big fan of what you've done with Gregory too, he might be different from what he is in the games but I'm just very happy that y/n has someone nice to lean on. I'm very curious to hear about this mer he's hanging out with hehe~ I'm so used to y/ns being very oblivious to everything, but oh my god if they don't pick up on the clues soon I'll rattle them into tiny bits!!

Oh and the boys, THE BOYS!!! Oh my god I loooove them!! They're so patient and sweet and so AAAA!!! You know how I am with big creatures being gentle and caring, I melt and melt and MELT!! They're so beautiful too aaaa man.. I love them!!! I love the scene where y/n is on Sun's back and he and Moon are looking at y/n waiting for them to calm down, being so patient. And the "now you're wet again" prkfjflfok aawww they worked so hard to get you dry and then you just undo all their work just like that! But ah man also what do you do in that situation really? Do you stay on the terrible monster's back or do you jump into the other monster that is the ocean? Stuck between a rock and a hard place fr..

I've been reading while out sailing and it's just THE BEST EXPERIENCE!! I feel the waves and smell the clean air as I read and it's just PERFECT!! Just wanted to let you know hehe X3

I have to say, I was really worried about it being just a repeat of Deep Dreams, which I absolutely didn't want because although there are some plot beats that are hit like in Deep Dreams, I hoped that the new Y/N and character conflicts would be compelling and fresh enough on their own! At first i was a little worried about reader wanting to piss him off but just as she started I WAS SO ON BOARD WITH IT, IT WAS SO FUN. She can be a little shit when she wants to and I love her for that.

All the little ways you characterize him (i think that's the word) are amazing. It's like i have this sticker album of his reactions and behaviours and every chapter you give me the best ones, if that makes some sense ejaiandiakai

Also HE DROPPED BY A NUDE? And my love was so embarassed about it!! And I loved that he trusts reader enough to tell her anyways.

And it really surprised me that he accepted to go to a game night with reader's friends! He's so sweet for that!

Also!!!! Loved the side characters! Sometimes when there's side characters in a fic meant to be the reader's social circle I can't get invested but THEY'RE SO NICE I HOPE WE SEE THEM AGAIN

Kaleb is my bestie now, i will fight for him

It was so fun watching these characters interact with reader and Donnie and between them.

And i hope they got to win in the next games, monopoly was rough for them ;u;

I'm glad it went over well. I know as a trope that sort of plot line can be toxic as hell. I'm always trying to thread the needle over her. Thank goodness I'm just nearsighted.

WS!Donnie is incredibly nuanced. I've never written a character does so much with so little so it's been fun creatively. I hope I do him justice. My biggest worry is sounding too repetitive when describing his actions.

He did enjoy Kaleb so the game night being at his house must have made it a little easier for him to accept 😂

Ahhh you know I was going to keep the side characters extremely vague, but they really started taking on lives of their own. I know when I personally read fanfiction, I mentally check out when there's OCs because all I care about is my ship or what have you. I always try to keep OCs to a minimum or at least have them be a little interesting if they have to exist. Hearing people like or even just feel ambivalent towards them is a huge win in my book!

Before I start screaming about the chapter (whew and i have some very incoherent, illegible thoughts about it) let me thank you.

Thank you for launching this delight of a ghost ship, thank you for writing this story that was so kind and loving and let Tay hurt and let him heal in his own time.

I am so grateful I could be here for every update and although the story still will have more fics written it is technically completed so, I'm glad to be here for the end.

I have told you many times how I love and appreciate how you let Tay heal and become his own person here but what I really love is how by loving Tay you made him love himself too, you gave him all this space of love for him and it can be felt in every scene, how just beloved he is, not only by the characters but also by the writer and idk it just makes me want to hug you very badly.

I appreciate how you handled the theme of first and last loves. Because the fic was mostly about it. About Tay getting over his first love, Kinn getting to be with his first love and Porsche the lucky bastard having two of those.

No but I love how they are presented

Like Porsche with the sweetness of the first loves, of both that intense burning and the comfortable quiet love. He gets the privilege of never knowing how if feels to get over one.

And then Kinn with his first love being Tay (i love that it's not Tawan, like YEAH FUCK HIM EVEN FURTHER), it's that feeling of almost sometimes at the beginning, the kind of love that could have been, the first one, the experience that shaped you and stayed with you, a love that is always sort of there even if both of you move on to another people because there is always a part of you that belongs to that person, a kind of love that you gave a part of your heart to and never took it back

And then Tay with his learning how to move past his first love. The love that shaped him for so long and I cannot just tell you how much I cried at the Time-Tay talk because I'm so proud of Tay for coming along so far. Cycles are so fucking hard to break and I'm glad he broke this one, he deserves it.

So yeah, I laughed, I screamed and I cried to this story and I loved every part of it, thank you for writing it Nemi 💞

Now onto my incoherent thoughts (today we have less because honestly I cannot state how much mind blowing this smut was)

First, all the love for Yok and Yok-Tay interaction was not something i thought i needed but i got anyway and I'm so fucking glad I did because oh my god, give me more please

Also yes YOK DESERVES ALL THE SONS

Funny thing, but when I was in the middle of writing Last Loves, I came across a post somewhere that ranted that not enough fic writers tackle non-first-love relationships. And I was like... heh. I got this.

And everything you describe about the relationships is SOOO GOOD. I like threesomes that feel whole, complete, and like each relationship stands on its own merit. Thank you for digging into how I decided to present the relationships in Last Loves!

Haha, Yok's non-advice to Tay. 🤣 You know, sometimes the best "advice" is just sympathy/empathy.

Ayato - honestly, the way I imagine ayato and I is mostly in an arranged marriage type thing (I have a differently designed sona for it and everything khsjfsdj). our first 'date' i guess would be considered the boat trip back from watatsumi island (where the wedding took place) and we drank ginger tea and chatted about folklore and mythology <3

Capitano - i've never really thought about it much, but i'd imagine our first date would probably be some sort of nature walk/hike where we just chat whenever the mood strikes us and i point out cool stuff i see while he just nods politely <3

Diavolo - i. also imagine being in an arranged marriage with him in most scenarios, but outside of those scenarios, in an AU in which im just a normal exchange student, i think our first 'date' would be where im infodumping excitedly to someone else (probably lucifer, satan or solomon) about how dia's demon form looks like it might be a dragon and im all fascinated by that and barbatos overhears and relays it to dia, who then invites me to an afternoon tea and tells me im allowed to ask whatever i like <3 though even given that opportunity it Would still turn into me infodumping about dragons

Lucifer - he's a very traditional sort, he's very careful to make sure none of our regular hangouts could be misconstrued as dates until both of us are entirely ready (which id totally misread as him friendzoning me and be sad about). but the first date he makes a reservation at a nice restaurant and works really hard to make it this Whole Memorable Thing but honestly i still consider our first date to be that time he let me pace around his study and infodump about my favourite book series for 40 minutes while he nodded politely and did paperwork.

🎵- what are some song lyrics that make you think of your f/o/your relationship with your f/o?

Ayato - there's a particular set of lines from 'Inventor's Daughter' by Branches that just resonates so hard with the arranged marriage fic/au i have laid out and it makes me SO insane (/pos)

theres something extraordinarily perfect to me about the "A white flag torn from a wedding gown" line, especially considering my sona's whole gender situation in this fic and the fuckery surrounding that. this au/fic holds a very dear place in my heart and honestly i need to keep writing it because i love it so much <3

Capitano - Black Bear (by Black Bear) sort of gives me him vibes, and the kind of wistfulness and envy the singer has towards the bear just. vibes. and also the way i write him. he is literally a black bear. so thats kind of funny

Diavolo - ok i have a few songs that vibe with this ship but there's a specific one that gave me SUCH brainrot recently about an au in which he and i are like hades and persephone and theres just SUCH a vibe and aesthetic surrounding it that makes me INSANE. The song is Epic III from the live version of Hadestown

Lucifer - There's something about 'Never Love an Anchor' by The Crane Wives that really tickles the Lucifer itch in my brain and the angst resonates SO MUCH with him. This section in particular just gives me SO MANY feels and makes me want to write disgustingly depressing angst of the ship ,,

Ayato - usually arranged marriage type stuff, but outside of that im like a stray that thoma brings in because were both from mondstadt and he thinks im silly

Capitano - just through whatever fatui shenanigans and the like, my guy is a knight of favonius so id imagine he just got sent out with that group that went out and met capitano and was like. "ok im fascinated by this big guy. seeya"

Diavolo - again, i mostly imagine arranged marriage, though the first time they meet would be Before that, during some like fancy soiree or whatever, i dunno. other than that, just the exchange program

Lucifer - exchange program. i latched onto him like a remora because i could sense his autism from across the room and he just kind of took it

🏠- what's your and your f/os dream home?

Ayato - the estate beloved <3 but also i could see us having a holiday home in liyue, since its where we went for our (very belated) honeymoon and we liked it a lot !!

Diavolo - I think he'd be very emotionally attached to the Demon Lord's Castle but I could also see us getting a sort of smaller, more modern style house closer to the main bulk of the Devildom where we end up spending a lot of our time.

Lucifer - He's very attached to the House of Lamentation and despite all his complaints he and his siblings are pack bonded and if they're separated they'll all die of loneliness and broken hearts (and also his siblings are too dumb to survive more than a few days without him), but I could see us having basically the inverse of Diavolo's in which we get a small place in the human world or something that we can stay in for a few days at a time just to get away from things!

Dude I just BINGED all of your drabbles ahhh they’re all so good!! I have never read an au with Arthur as a doctor AND a father. I love how you write him and Francis together, you do a great job balancing them out and not putting either one too far into stereotypes, they’re such relationship power couple goals!!!! Also I don’t have a ton of familiarity with the health industry and am reasonably healthy, but omg all of the health/hospital focused ones fascinate me, you are very knowledgeable! I am embarrassed to admit I had not known how serious asthma can be (someone please hug Matt for me). Another one of your stories in particular stood out to me, a while back you wrote something with Alfred having epilepsy, and I don’t have that condition but in college a friend of mine did. I knew this about her for several years, and when I asked she talked me through what to do if it ever happened, but the first time I actually saw her have a full on seizure I admit I was freaked the ef out. Thankfully I wasn’t the only one there (and our other friend is way cooler headed than me lol) cause it was fight or flight or freeze and I was fully on freeze mode 😂 Seeing someone you care about in physical distress, especially when you know they have no say in the matter and probably won’t remember it, is alarming to say the least. It’s got me thinking of Al’s life after diagnosis, he has things mostly under control, but seizures still occasionally happen, like they do. And like, Matt knows what Al’s diagnosis is, and theoretically what to do, but the first time he sees Alfred seize, they’re just like, just at home playing video games or something and neither of their dads are around to help. Even when Arthur and Francis come home and Alfred is recovered (but tired) I feel like Matt would still be freaking out and trying to pretend like he wasn’t. Like even if they were older teens he would try to sneakily check on Al at night to make sure he’s okay 🥺 (also sidenote but I can totally imagine adult Alfred having a seizure alert dog who is just the cutest with all sorts of buttons and patches on his little halter vest) ANYWAY WOW I kinda really went off on a massive word vomiting spree there, hope I haven’t taken up too much of your time. You’re amazing! Keep being awesome!

I hope I grow up to be old and chronically grumpy but still in love with my spouse like Arthur and Francis are with each other lol. And Matthew always deserves all the hugs for being a sweetheart. 😂 Asthma is generally mild for most people as long as it's "controlled," but it can also be life-threatening -- it's different for everyone and depends on what triggers you + how severe the attacks are.

Seeing a friend in distress can definitely be scary -- it's a good thing you and your other friend were able to deal with the situation! The first time I saw someone having a seizure, I was in middle school, and I was definitely frightened as well. It's natural to freeze up and not know what to do. But I try to remind myself that the worst thing you can do is panic when someone needs you to be there for them, so I'll attempt to seem like the calm and level-headed one even though I'm freaking out on the inside lol.

I really didn't know something like this happens in the LNs (anyway Break go get dumped in the middle of the "sad dad-serial killer-slut" venn) but i was told that there is one scene where Break is hanging out around taverns and like:

Gradually, Oz understood. The women probably worked at a tavern somewhere on this street. In other words, Break was one of its regular customers. In that case, Break had come to the street today in order to put in an appearance at the tavern— Sensing that Oz seemed to want to say something, Break spoke, smiling: “You will keep this a secret from my lady, won’t you?” “…So it’s something you can’t tell Sharon-chan about. Not only that, but ‘Zeke’… You go there under an assumed name? How about that…” As he spoke, Oz’s eyes were reproving. When he continued, his voice was even more ironic and slightly scornful: “‘We’ll give you extras,’ huh? I see.” Alice, who was standing beside Oz and Break, listening to their exchange, grumbled: “Hrrrnnn?” Apparently she didn’t quite understand what they were talking about. Although he would have been hard-pressed to explain, Break didn’t seem at all abashed. “I suppose you could call it a mature pleasure. Ah, you children are a bit young for that. You mustn’t, Oz-kun.” Oz grew mildly irritated at finding himself treated like a child. With a taunting expression, he said: “Listen to you. Ahh, you know, maybe I will tell Sharon-chan.” “My, my. That would be a problem.” Although he said it would be a problem, as Break spoke, his gestures indicated that it wouldn’t really be anything of the sort. Then, his expression grew a bit thoughtful. In the tone of one speaking in riddles, he asked Oz a question: “Do you know where ‘information’ tends to collect, here in Reveil?” “…Information? What sort?” Oz hadn’t expected the question, and all he could do was answer with one of his own. Break lowered his voice a bit, so that it would blend in with the noise from the crowd. “For example, in a corner of this street, there’s a tavern. Its proprietress is so influential that there’s no one in underworld society who does not know her. Her intelligence network reaches into every corner of aristocratic society, and it’s said no information fails to find its way to her.” “……Huh?” “The ladies who work at her tavern have secured the favor of many nobles, as her pawns. ‘We’ll give you extras’ is a code phrase…meaning that new information has come in.” Oz couldn’t find a response. He swallowed involuntarily. “…Wouldn’t it be marvelous if that were true?” Break smiled significantly, mischievously, as he twirled his swordstick.

The girls even give him extras apparently lol, sure Break don't tell Sharon-chan anything ///>_</// "Wouldn’t it be marvelous if that were true?" ffs, this man istg!!

so yeah my idea of tavern came from here, although i wanted to write a standalone oneshot where lottie is an undercover-barmaid and Break goes in by chance and finds her there for the same purpose as himself and chaos ensues on mutual recognition hgjfkhhaha

but since i kept their first meeting as the one that happened in Retrace 37-41, I changed the scene to whatever happens in the fic. i do wanna write a short fic solely on the tavern premise some day lol

lol sorry I am rambling now but yeah, I gotta read the novels after all ig if they have so much of Break's parttime, ahem, activities lmaoo i might get more inspiration for my fics hgjfk
