I was doing a personality quiz with my friend and there was a question “Are you interested in romantic relationships?” and I picked “yes” and my friend (who knows I'm aromantic) was like “Hold on, really?”
And I, in full seriousness, answered “Yeah, I like shipping.”

Oh whatever I put it in my friend’s dms originally but I suppose I might as well say it here. Thinking about how the One Ring is simple gold, like a wedding band. I know many of us love to read Frodo never marrying as queerness (and I do, believe me, it doesn’t contradict what I’m gonna say) but I think it’s support for another metaphorical representation of trauma. Like, listen, older views on divorce were not quite as lenient as modern ones. And when Frodo put that ring on, he got married.
He put that ring on and got married to evil, and I don’t just mean that in a contractual way. I mean that in a marriage, as in forever entwining your life and soul with someone, no matter if good or bad comes of it, way. Doesn’t matter that he effectively also divorced the evil when the ring went into the fire. In the same way your ex is still out there, the trauma is still with him. There is no unbinding your soul from something like that.
And also, just as a separate little thing: it’s fun to acknowledge that there is literally only one person in this marriage. This is a ring. And then a guy. So instead of divorcing someone else, he’s divorcing part of his soul.

I like to think every chance she gets, Sigewinne holds Wriothesley’s hand. Both bc of touch starvation, but also out of fondness. She’s so proud of who he’s become since he’d first set foot in a then much crueler Meropide and of all the changes he’s made; he is her very best friend, damn near family.
The handholding gets a lot more frequent after the incident with the Primordial water, as a reassurance to herself that he is alright.

damn so how about the latest fe engage manga chapter (tw for talk of crucifixion under the cut not like. horrendously detailed at all but also hi most people may understandably not want to read about that w/ out a warning sjakghsdkgh)
I HATE TO SAY IT BUT LIKE. kinda giggling thinking about this you're telling me back when I was writing Black Tourmaline (which, for the uninformed, has Alear kidnapped by Fell Cult Leftovers a few years post canon that I finished like back in mid June you should check it out maybe) I could've included crucifixion as a means of torture* and it would've been confirmed a canon aspect of fell worship a matter of months later
damn i could've crucified al- (a comically large frying pan slams against my head, knocking me out instantly)
* tho also I will concede that, while swift intervention + lack of nailing (which I don't think there is any here *squinting*) means you could have a chance of survival, typically the goal of crucifixion is uh. execution. remember kids crucifixion is an obscenely nasty ass way to go and frankly im not surprised it would be involved in Fell worship given the kind of attitudes Sombron takes up of course he'd probably be chill with if not promote something that- if you're lucky -would still take hours of agony to kill you, if not days.
fuckhead sombron fuck you
