an art/fic exchange w @tvorogzok and i just hope this won't be used against me in the court of law
Sasha was walking down a deserted Krakow street, wondering where all the people had gone.
Might have to do with the lunch hour, she thought, or perhaps it’s just generally not as busy as…No, she cut herself off. She couldn’t think about that now. It was all about her new life, civil freedoms and, well…
She had a show to write and tour to attend to. She needed to be put-together, and funny, and entertaining, and not breaking down on the floor, terrified of the future that was as foggy as London evenings, seeking out the news hoping each new day would bring the change of tides, the fall of the regime and the possibility to reunite with the people she could no longer look in the eyes…
Crestfallen, Sasha pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose, narrowly avoiding leaving an annoying fingerprint stain in the middle of one of the lenses – wouldn’t that make a wonderful addition to an already crumbling day of her trainwreck of a life? – and didn’t notice, deep in her thoughts, a cortège of black SUVs parked in a neat line down the road.
Someone bumped into her, startling Sasha out of her miserable spiral.
“Oh, pardon me,” said the man with a heavy American accent and bushy grey brows.
And just like most fleeting, insignificant moments that pass only for you to look back at them years later and pinpoint that it was that second right there that changed the course of your entire life, it was something Sasha paid no particular attention to. They said “oh” and they said “sorry” and they muttered “don’t worry.”
They had no idea that it was the faithful day which would lead to them becoming the First Lady of the United States of America, married to President Joe Biden, wearing furs at a barbeque get-together of political leaders and kicking all those partial to the bloody regime in the face. In the name of freedom. In the name of what’s right. In triumph of humanity over evil.
And, of course, because someone insulted the man Sasha loved the most in the world. The one to give her love and security and support.
Her cowboy Joe.
The blue of the river water and the stars in her eyes were overpowered by the red of her love for the man who took her under his feathery white eagle wing.
They got married to “Cotton-eyed Joe” and it was the love ballad Sasha never knew she needed.
The air smelled of fresh grass, grilled meat and, faintly, of chopped chives.
Sasha smiled.
The summer of her life was around the corner.

Reading a Terry Pratchett book is literally just: Here's a funny little joke Here's something that you can tell is a joke but don't get and will only figure out five years later Here's a surprisingly cool fantasy concept Here's a unique and well written simile Here's a lil guy Here's something that has aged depressingly well into the modern day Here's something that has aged remarkably queer into the modern day Here's a character that you can barely understand what he's saying Here is the most terrifying and deeply disturbing concept you have ever heard, casually mentioned Here is the dumbest fucking pun you've ever heard but in the best way Here is a quote so profound that it makes you view morality and the world in a different way Here is a plot twist that you can't tell if it's genius or stupid Congratulations! You've finished the book! It has fundamentally changed you as a person and you will never be the same!

okay so a ceasefire will happen soon, inshallah, but i just know the second it does, most of y'all will pack it up and go home. the world has proven time and time again that the second the violence "stops", then everyone forgets about us and then we just go back to suffering under the israeli occupation. you guys need to promise us, promise every single palestinian child in the world right now, that you will not stop fighting. that you will continue boycotting, you will continue protesting, you will continue disrupting the world until palestine is free. and then we'll do it again. and again and again and again and again. for sudan, for the congo, for everyone who is suffering right now.
you guys cant keep leaving us and forgetting about us once you've done "your part". it always happens, and we always go back to suffering. you need to stand with us until palestine is completely free. until we have our land back, until we can rebuild our homes, until we can drink clean water and breathe clean air, until our children grow up never having to face a horror like the nakba ever again. you need to stay fighting until we are all free forever.

Nex Benedict's death wasn't just for being transgender, it was for being native too. 2 Spirits are revered in many native cultures and it is a native-specific identity. This wasn't just a hate crime against trans & NB individuals, this was also a hate crime against Natives of Turtle Island.
You cannot separate Nex's trans identity from their native identity - this is a case of MMIWG2S (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2 Spirits).
Native children being killed at school is nothing new, so it's equally important to talk about Nex's native identity and being intersectional, this is a devastating tragedy for indigenous people, the queer community & especially those of us who are both indigenous and queer.
May Nex rest in peace 🪶

The Effects of Steroids
Currently, the best high-performance and appearance-enhancing drugs are steroids. There are many dangers of using steroids such as affecting a person’s mood and potentially starting a substance use disorder, along with more severe ones like heart attacks, strokes, liver tumors, kidney failure, and even mental health problems.
The pros of using testosterone steroids are the beneficial effects on mood, energy changes, sense of well-being, and they can potentially aid in the treatment of blood disorders. When women use testosterone steroids it can permanently deepen their voice, increase facial and body hair, and irregulate the menstrual cycle. For men, it can lead to infertility, hair loss, an increased risk of prostate cancer, and severe acne. When teens use testosterone steroids, it can stunt their growth, enlarge the heart, and cause violence, aggressive behavior, and major mood swings.
The pros of using Tren steroids are the enhancements in muscle growth, the increase in strength and performance, and a reduction of body fat. If you are a female, you may develop characteristics similar to male hormones, voice deepening, and extra hair growth around the mouth and chin. For men, taking the Tren steroid can raise blood pressure and cholesterol levels, cause severe acne, early balding, and reduce sexual functions. If you are under the age of 21, the Tren steroid should never be used as it can cause dangerous health problems such as infertility, cardiovascular issues, and liver damage.
The safest steroid is undecanoate, also called oral testosterone. It can do the same as both the Tren and testosterone steroids, and even though it is the safest, there are still tons of major side effects. These would include chances of having a heart attack, heart failure, a stroke, liver problems, depression, delusions, hallucinations, and aggressive behaviors.

I won't lie, I marvelled a little as Linzy's festival gigs approached on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. I marvelled a little because, as the weekend approached, I was telling people about each of those gigs.
That's not the only reason, though. I was also telling people about the upcoming screening of our 48 Hour Film Project that took place last night at the Uptown Cinema in Seattle. So I wound up promoting both our professional endeavors simultaneously.
We weren't the only two in our family with big events happening around the same time like planets aligning. You see, while the gigs were happening, as the world premiere of the film I cut approached, Kimmer officially applied to a doctorate program at her alma mater. And, by the time the screening happened, she was officially accepted.
The doctorate program?
Doctor of Science in Integrative Health from the American College of Healthcare. Sciences.
So there it is.
We all three had a very busy week.
😊
