Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, The Mandalorian, Season 2, Episode 5, The Jedi
No!
Uh… sorry about that. Grogu had some unfinished business to attend to and he’s… uh… really sorry. I’ve asked his dad, Din Djarin, to stop by and share some interesting stories with you. He… uh… has agreed not to relate any stories that Grogu slept through. That pretty much means that the stories won’t be about armor polish, the benefits of ensuring that preventative maintenance is performed on thrust reversers and his collection of ration pack tins. Enjoy… oh, right, This is the Way!
-- Hey! How does this thing work?
You just talk and the words show up on the screen. It knows where to put the punctuation and how to spell everything. Don’t worry.
-- Are you sure? The last time we did this it mixed up 'ad’ika' with 'aliik' and I still haven’t heard the end of it.
I promise you I’ll check it before it goes out. Plus, most folks who read these stories don’t read or speak Mando’a.
-- I know that. But my old friend Laac Straso saw it and he hasn’t stopped laughing every time he sees me. I don’t want more of that.
You and I will proof read it together as soon as I go stop Grogu from packing his bags. He threatened to go to Coruscant if he had to tell another story about Ahsoka Tano. He said that’s where Jedi belong and maybe if he went there she would remember who he was and stop pretending that they never met before.
-- Why does that bug him so much? She was very nice on Corvus, once she realized I wasn’t there to help the Imps, as if I’d ever do that.
He said, and I quote, ‘you spent approximately one and one half days on Corvus and he spent less than four hours with her. For that he’s written forty two stories about her.’
-- He hasn’t even written half that number of stories about Ahsoka!
I know. I know. I’m just telling you what he said. He also said that he spent far more time with Niebla, first on the Razor Crest on your way to Trask and then when you went off to help the former Mand’alor. But he’s only written a handful of stories about her. He doesn’t think it’s fair.
-- Fair? I don’t tell him what to write the stories about. I’m just the guy who has to put up with his fans sending him story prompts about me taking my helmet off and can I please say ‘I’ll bring them in warm’. That’s a bit much, isn’t it? These are just the stories…
Of his life as he remembers it. They are very important to him and I guess he’s just upset that he doesn’t know Ahsoka as well as he wishes he did. There really aren’t that many Jedi left and he still feels like she abandoned him.
-- You know that’s not true. She did what she had to do, just like all the rest of us.
Yes. I know that. But how he feels is how he feels. You, by the way, still haven’t stopped complaining about Toro Calican. You knew him for what, less than 48 hours, and you brought him in cold. You don’t talk about any of the rest of those people you brought in cold. Not a single one. So what’s special about that kid? Did he remind you of yourself too much?
-- Hey! He reminded me of no such thing. I wasn’t that green or greedy. He almost ended Fennec and she’s your friend. She calls you ‘Boss’ almost as often as she calls Boba Fett ‘Boss’.
This is not about Fennec. It’s about Grogu. He feels bad that he wasn’t able to do more for the rest of the Jedi. Just like Ahsoka. They both left all the people they knew and loved and felt how each and everyone of them died. It must have been horrible. I’m sure every time she looked at him she relived those events and felt all that pain again. Which is the same for him. I had hoped when he went to Luke’s sleep away camp that would change, that he would deal with those losses and see that the Force has a way of giving back to those who lost so much.
-- He said the food was bad and Luke was obsessed with meditation.
I know. Now, look, the recorder’s been taking down everything we’ve said. It’s time for you tell his readers a cute, funny, thoughtful story in an amusing way, so, uh… get ‘er done. He’s dragging that bag of his across the lawn and it’s just going to be filthy and he’s going to complain about that as soon as he remembers he forgot to pack his freeze dried froglets. I’m going to take him into Mos Kadhus and get him some frozen custard.
-- Fine. What the hell. Just tell him I love him.
Of course. This is the way.

"A Friend of the Family"
La serie está basada en la desgarradora historia real de la familia Broberg.
Tumblr media

A Friend of the Family the true crime drama really out here leaving out the fact the kidnapper was in conversion therapy to become straight and the victim’s family encouraged their underage daughters to spend time alone with him as part of his therapy, oh or that the dad fucked him and that the mom also fucked this dude a multitude of times. We just leaving out the reasons their daughter actually ended up getting kidnapped and leaving out the fact they’re mormons and more than likely his “therapy” was provided by the church.
I feel a different type of disgusted by this show and the book that came before because the victim herself and her mother wrote the book about this horrible crime and the daughter had a hand in the show and they both care more about protecting the church and their reputations than telling people the real reason this happened at all.
So yeah fuck that show and the family you had some weird gang bang with this creepy asshole and encouraged him to be alone with young girls to help him stop being gay so I am not really sure what you people had in mind would happen with that.
Oh and the parents also wanted to drop the whole fucking case after he was finally arrested cause his wife threatened to expose to the public both parents had been fucking the guy who SA’d their daughter so they cared more about not getting kicked from the church than their 12 year old being raped.

I’m watching a friend of the family and are this people dense? Was it all the drugs and cult like churches who brain washed them back in the 70’s? Like you can’t seriously be this stupid, can you?! Like what the actual fuck!

it still blows my mind that a person has the ability to manipulate and gaslight you to the point where he convinces you to sleep with him despite him being your daughter’s abducter like wtf

EVERY SINGLE DAY there are MILLIONS of characters in their late 20s who get falsely accused of being father figures to teenagers when in reality the description of "weird older cousin" or "step-sibling that moved out before you were born" is 1000000x more apt

As a reminder that good exists out there, a coworker recently confessed to me that he found out his child is questioning their identity (kid's gender redacted for this post). The kid is keeping it from him, so he can't say anything to them or show that he knows, but he's doing his best to get mentally prepared and educated so that he'll be ready whenever his kid does feel comfortable enough come to him.
For context, this guy is a big, bulky middle aged dude who loves sports and typical outdoor "manly" activities. As his coworker and friend, I know he's a kind and sweet teddy bear of a person, but his kid probably views him as a stern, authoritarian figure, the way most teenagers view their parents. His family lives in a conservative area, so I'm sure between that, their dad's looks and interests, and the fact that their dad is a Figure of Authority, the kid is worried that they won't be accepted.
But you know what? When he found out about his kid, the first thing he did was reach out to his closest queer friend and ask for resources for parents of questioning children. His biggest fears are that his kid will be bullied or discriminated against and won't feel comfortable enough to be themself. His second action was to find himself a mentor in another parent who went the same situation (kid coming out in a conservative town). The other person is preparing him for some of the struggles his kid may face and the fights he may need to take on as a parent to make sure his kid is safe and treated well.
Something I want to emphasize for people focused on language as the primary method of allyship is that when we spoke, he used some outdated terms and thoughts about gender and sexuality. That does not make him bad. These were the terms and thinking used about questioning teenagers when he was growing up and he never needed to learn more current ones. But now that he does have that need, he's throwing himself in head first because that's his kid and he's darn well going to make sure that his kid feels welcomed and has a safe place to be themselves even if they never come out to him.

I like to think that Vulcans who come to understand that Humans just can’t try to process emotions the same way as them, it’s just healthiest to let it out in harmless ways, decide that venting and stuff should be taken just as seriously as Vulcan’s meditation time, and will encourage the Humans around them to complain about what’s upsetting them
People who are used to aloof Vulcans who avoid Humans at all cost running into one comforting a Human
“-and then they said my cheesecake was subpar, and they didn’t even bring a dish!!!”
“The purpose of this event was that every participant brings a food item of sorts, correct?”
“Yeah!!”
“And they did not follow this rule while insulting dishes that were brought?”
“Mostly just my dish but yeah >:(“
“How illogical”
“That’s what I’m saying!!!”
#star trek#Vulcans#Humans#not based on a specific thing#but I used to know this annoying couple that were ‘family friends’#who would show up to potluck dinners and the like and would either bring nothing or bring something really just. out of left field?#like a bag of frozen chicken to a bbq#and then proceed to make sure they are first even if it was stated to let kids go first#would take HUGE amounts before anyone else got a chance to get a plate#and then make off with the leftovers again even if they were already claimed for#and it wasn’t a food insecurity thing trust me I would never speak bad about a person getting food if that was even a remote chance#the adults who raised us knew them really well and we’d been to their house a ton of times#they were just dicks#and yeah. they’d occasionally insult the food. while eating the MAJORITY of it.#it was so weird at their home they would go out of their way to get the healthiest options possible#you know the really bland tasteless expensive stuff that apparently was healthier#but then if they were visiting our house they would. eat all our unhealthy snacks.#that always pissed me off so much as a kid because we actually had a food insecurity thing going on#and also a variety of other reasons that are a bit too depressing to bring up on this post#but anyways we’d hardly ever get to have nice snacks#and this couple would just take them all??? even after we’d tell them repeatedly that it was ours and those snacks weren’t gonna be#replaced#hated that couple#if you’re wondering why they were ‘family friends’ it’s because the couple who raised us#(it feels weird to type it out like that but apparently legal guardians doesn’t fit since they never finished petitioning 💀)#liked having them around because it made them look like ‘such great Christian’s’ being nice to the people#that no one else wanted to be friends with#I always thought that was a really weird and fucked up reason to be friends with someone#this got long sorry 😭

if i think about the hunger games in peeta's perspective i WILL start sobbing
#imagine you're a boy who's going to die. you're in love with the girl you've been watching from afar. you know your fate.#you just want to help her‚ but then there's the announcement and she's here in front of you‚ kissing you‚ risking her life for you and you#think‚ i could live and i could love. you think she loves you when she hands you the berries‚ when she puts them in her mouth.#then you both survive and you go back home and nothing is real anymore. you have nothing. no family. no friends. no love. just an empty#house. a drunk for a neighbor. the love of your life walking into somebody else's arms. you think‚ i survived the games. i could survive#this. and you also think‚ i should've bit down on those berries‚ should've felt the juice burst before i died.#and then the third quarter quell announcement rings in your ears and you think‚ she will live and i will die as i should have in the first#place. the girl you love kisses you on the beach and somewhere you heart stirs and your mind revolts and you savor every touch she has ever#given to you‚ in front of the cameras and off. because you are a tribute and you are always being watched and snow's presence looms and#you think‚ i know she cares. but you get taken. you get drugged. you get tortured‚ your mind altered. the girl is a mutt‚ a murderer. she's#everything you despise‚ your mind stirs. your heart revolts. you gain more awareness but cannot distinguish reality from fiction and you#have never known katniss' love. the war ends. you heal. you come home. you plant primrose for her. years down the line‚ you grow in love#more than you thought possible. but some days‚ you cannot tell fiction from reality so you ask the love of your life‚ you love me.#real or not real? and she says‚ real‚ and kisses you.#and you sigh and kiss her back and revel in this. a home. a life. a love.#lit#the hunger games#everlark#otp: real or not real?#katniss everdeen#peeta mellark#text#tais toi lys#thgpost
