Titbits and analysis 🖖
As promised, some more titbits from the Con yesterday in Melbourne as well as my interpretations. Prior to attending yesterday, I told myself to keep an open mind and attempt to leave any biases behind (even after having seen the funeral pics). Clean slate. To try and view Sam, the event, questions, and subsequent behaviours objectively.
I'm the sort of person who feels energy and is affected by it and in some ways governed by it. The energy of people, both individually and collectively. The energy of a group. I tend to couple this with objective analysis, which forms the basis of my conclusions about people and situations.
I applied this method yesterday in attempting to understand and view Sam, the OL money 💰 machine and everything else. I also just wanted to go there and bask in the audience and enjoy myself....and....I did like it Jamie.
So first thing I noticed off the cuff was how experienced Sam was in handling questions, and the women, and tailoring his behaviour to suit their desires. He was charming, charismatic, approachable, a skilled professional. I saw the veneer. I felt the veneer. I also saw and felt that he is a pretty decent bloke under that veneer. A man with a solid work ethic, who is mild mannered and working with purpose in his life.
I observed that his handler or Convention agent or whatever he is, Steve, was in full control. He managed Sam's performance in a sense. He asked the questions and even set the directions for some answers. Sam is controlled. I didn't like Steve. I didn't get the best vibe off him. Infact, I got a bad vibe off him. I observed that everything was a performance. Scripted to a large degree. The Single Sam narrative was pushed by Steve. Hard. It was a performance. That much was clear to me.
So Sam chose to mention that he was in Austria skiing 2 weeks ago....blah blah...something about singing a Ronan Keating song. So the script tells everyone nice and early that he is NOT with Caitriona ✅️
Later on in the panel, he mentioned that he "was at the theatre in London the week earlier" watching a play. Huh? Getting his timeline confused? Interesting titbit, I thought. Who would he go to the theatre with whilst in London? Who else likes to go to the theatre? Who have we seen him go to the theatre with before? Ding ding ding!!
One of the first things he spoke about (umprompted) and imo was part of his speaking program, was that Caitriona is back home in Scotland doing prep work and will be directing this season. He said that he spoke to her recently and that she is cold and miserable back home. No one seemed to give a shit. The women were there for their Jamie. Sam read the crowd. He understood.
Sam tried to bring Cait into the conversation again saying something like "Where's Claire?....Caitriona isn't here". Again crickets from the audience.
He said that he auditioned with a lot of Claire's, but they couldn't find the right fit and that nobody was as brilliant as Caitriona.
It sounded like he genuinely missed her.
He spoke of his audition with Cait, saying they were very physical and were almost wrestling each other. He said he was sweating all over her and that his sweat was on her. The crowd still only wanted to hear about their Jamie. I think Sam relished in being cheeky in saying that she wore his sweat that day.
Someone asked about "how do you kiss and make out with a costar and then just carry-on. Isn't it awkward"? Sam responded generally initially, saying that there's lots of checking in with the person and apologising afterwards (in a joking fashion). Then that prompted him to start talking about Cait saying that he has also "snotted" all over Cait and exchanged many body fluids with her (in an acting context presumably)and that there's nothing really left to do together that they haven't already done. I was like "whoooaa wtf Sam?". Shooketh that he said that really. The silence from the crowd was palpable. They really didn't want to hear about Cait and Sam and their shared bodily fluids whilst 'acting'. He is THEIR fantasy man. Not Caitriona's. Silence from the audience. Sam already knew that the crowd were Sam onlies but he loved telling this story. Relished in it imo. He loved the double entendre. It was an unrehearsed, unscripted conversation as it resulted from an audience question. I concluded it was an act of defiance on his behalf. That's what it felt like to me.
Steve the convention agent guy, was always bringing it back to Single Sam. "I worry how are you going to get a date" said Steve. With Sam understanding the prompt ...."I worry too" says Sam. Bachelor narrative secured ✅️
Steve spruked the Bachelor narrative again to Sam's thirsty and adoring fans....."Sam you remind me of that old show where everyone has to guess which bachelor is going to come out of the mystery door". And that's when I knew with 100 percent certainty that the bachelor talk was a ruse. It was so contrived and performative. I smiled to myself. The women in the crowd were eating it up.
Another thing that stood out to me was when Sam was searching for the right terminology when talking about Cait. "My......co star" huge pause.
"I love you Claire" is the line he randomly chose to say when explaining his acting.
When asked how he has time to foster friendships and spend time with his family he talked around it. Avoided the question and kept it about his friendships saying that they are strong friendships that endure. He diverged and started talking about how he still has his core friendships that he had when he was bunking and sharing an apartment/house with them in London when he was younger. The veneer was up. Inpenetrable.
At another point in the panel Sam asked "How many Sheila's are there here"? LOL. I found that amusing.
Now this next part captured my attention the most. It had a weird feeling (energy) around it . Sam gave off a weird energy. Almost hostile. Again that's just what I felt.
Someome from the audience named Toni with an "I" was selected to ask a question. I can't remember what the question was but Sam made a really big deal about her being named Toni. "There's always a Tony have you noticed"? Why is there always a Tony"? He said. He didn't want to drop it. He placed a little too much emphasis on it. I was laughing silently but Sam's double entendre didn't go unnoticed by me. Everyone else was clueless or at least that's how it appeared to me. Was that an Easter egg dropped by Sammy?
Asked about what does he do for self care, he seemed to struggle answering that too. He talked in circles about his way points hike and how he's learning how to live in the moment. There's that wall again.
There were many other things discussed of course but I thought I'd focus on the things that shed light on his situation and that resonated with me.
So my closing Analysis? Sam is controlled. He peforms. He caters. He's intelligent and in tune with people and aims to please but is private. Sunday just reaffirmed and solidified my beliefs. Caitriona snatched up that hard working gem of a man quick smart!

Astarion x Wizard! Tav reader
A/N: part 3 of my Astarion with different Tav classes. its magic time baby
summary- 1.1k words, SFW, gn reader
Astarion x Wizard! Tav
Neeeeerd
No seriously, that's Astarions reaction to you being a wizard. You choose to base your entire life around studying? You two are basically like oil and water in a lot of ways.
Ok but in all seriousness, Astarion does admire your dedication to your craft. He sees how much work you put into learning new spells and is genuinely excited when you get it right
It doesn’t mean he’s gonna stop making fun of you though. You're telling him you belong to a SCHOOL of magic??? Need for Academic validation much? Oh and please, if you're gonna wear wizard robes try to make them a little stylish, or he’ll come for your sense of fashion too.
Actually, I bet he’d help you spice up your outfits a little. A thigh slit here, a tasteful gold embroidery there, your not completely beyond hope
Dw tho, you can absolutely get him back. Oh, you need some magical assistance? Maybe help figuring out how a magical item works? Uh oh, looks like the rouge needs the wizard's help after all dontcha astarion?
It’s definitely the highlight of your day when he has to ask for help. Unfortunately, it goes both ways. His speed and skills have definitely saved your ass in battle before
Honestly, it’s giving annoyances to lovers. Plus I’m convinced at least 40% of Astarions love language is sass and knife cat energy.
He enjoys the banter definitely, but it’s never meant to cut too deep. He’s good at reading people, so say you're having trouble learning this one spell and you're starting to get frustrated. He can definitely tell and knows not to make jokes about your magic today. He can’t exactly help, because this man is NOT magically inclined. But he’ll pull you away from the spell scroll long enough for you to take a deep breath and have a break. It helps in its own way because now you can come back to it with a more calm mindset.
You can’t tell me this man isn’t laughing (a little manically) when you cast fireball. I mean come on that’s one of the most entertaining things he’s seen in 200 years let him have some fun
But also-
He secretly finds your powers very cool. I mean there’s something beautiful about magic at its core, he can’t help but be just a little entranced. And you’ve definitely used magic to show off to him just a lil (make a rose out of magic blue light or somethin he’ll scoff but find it endearing)
Honestly, I imagine you two are a slight hoarder couple. I mean you need to have all these ingredients for spells on you, and Astarions a rouge he definitely has like at least 5 knives on him at all times. Also the magic items. You both love to hoard those, just in case they’re useful
If you actually do have some sort of wizard's tower, layer, study, or something Astarion wants to see it
He’ll make a joking excuse as to why he wants to see your lair. And he’s DEFINITELY gonna grab a random cloak in there and do a bad wizard impersonation
BUT-
The real reason he wants to see it is because it’s an integral part of you. It’s basically your home, where you store everything you find valuable, where the pantry is always stocked with the food you like, and where the bed has the exact number of pillows you want it to have. Astarion wants to know these things about you.
I imagine after you finally defeat the mindflayers and everyone goes off to find their own way (or maybe you all stick together and keep adventuring while also occasionally having individual adventures, who am I to break up your found family) you immediately take Astarion to your tower and start working on methods to help him walk in the sun. magic sunscreen? Enchanted daylight ring? Charmed circlet? You've got options and you're not afraid to use them. Anything to make it so that Astarion doesn’t have to live his life in darkness anymore. You jest and say it would be a true tragedy if you couldn't see his beautiful silver hair kissed by the sunrise, but in reality, you were immediately tearing through every tome you owned looking for a solution. After all, who wouldn't do anything for the man that held their heart?
Ok now imagine. You and Astarion just completed a mission, saving some people in the grove with Halsin. And you already had received a message from Wyll and Karlach asking for assistance smoking out a group of assasins that had settled in Baldurs gate. But gods you were so tired. It was nearly midnight when you both decided to crash at your liar instead of heading straight to the location Wyll had given you. You were both covered in mud, twigs, and other “gifts of nature” as Astarion had described them in a voice mocking Halsins. You were so tired your eyelids stung, and everything was hazy. You both more or less stumbled into your study, already half asleep.
Of course, you had become a bit more coherent when you realized that there was only one bed. And two of you. Now this might seem a bit ridiculous to care about things like that considering how close the two of you are and how much you have been through and done together, but now hear me out. This man has spent the last 200 years either not having a bed or being forced to share one. You had both decided he needed some time to just be able to have his own space to sleep, after all, you had all of your lifetime together, and you wanted him to be comfortable, so whenever he had come to your study, he slept on the couch. You had wanted to get him a cot or something of his own at the place, buuut it had kinda slipped your mind entirely. And the couch he slept on was currently covered in about 50 books stacked across the couch, another thing you had forgotten about. Whoops.
You and Astarion both looked at the pile of books on the couch and then at each other. You felt like you were about to pass out where you stood and he didn't look much better. There was an instant understanding between the both of you, that understanding being “fuck it” as you both collapse onto your bed, neither taking off your filthy armor and robes, simply passing out on the spot.
You awoke to a certain vampires face buried in the crook of your neck, trying to block out the sun now shining in his eyes. Eventually, you both dragged yourself out of the small bed and cleaned yourselves up before heading off to Wyll's location, but after this situation you both unspokenly began to sleep in the same bed alot more often.

breaking away from my commitment to not being a tinhat blog to briefly give my 2 cents on which drivers i think are gay/bi
max: bisexual but will never fully consciously realise due to his desperation to settle down into a white picket fence 2.5 kids and 2 cats marriage with kelly. perhaps, subconsciously, that is why he is so quick to settle. so his cock does not have time to wander
checo: cheats like a straight man. will kiss the homies after a beer or two but always remembers to say no homo because gay activities aren't very catholic
charles: i know he's Not French but he's gay in a french way, where if you don't have a deeply tragic homoerotic bond at least once in your life they revoke your citizenship but it doesn't actually count as being gay
george: things i did not learn at oxford - proper orchestration technique, anything about non-brazilian hip hop, the different types of augmented sixths. things i DID learn at oxford: george russell would lick his best mate's nipples at the bullingdon club party for the photo op but he would staunchly refuse to identify as anything other than straight
lewis: on the one hand i think he is actually genuinely gay or bi and will come out publicly within the next five years. on the other hand only the worst kind of straight man could have done that to nicole scherzinger's boob
carlos: he's not gay but he IS in a deep long term open relationship with lando
lando: see above. also i used to watch dan and phil and i see no other explanation for whatever the situation is with him and max fewtrell. he's bisexual i know it in my soul
esteban: god love him but that is a heterosexual man. a charmingly sexless one but a heterosexual nonetheless
fernando: will fuck other men as an intimidation tactic only but he's never needed to resort to that because he's intimidating enough already
valtteri: not an iota of gayness in him. heterosexual wife guy. ass fixation easily explained away by being finnish
seb: BISEXUAL KING, NO OTHER COMMENT
daniel: he has successfully gaslit everybody into thinking he's bisexual due to his relentless flirtations with other men but it's all part of the brand. he has never, ever won a game of gay chicken
kevin: no.
pierre: once again, gay in a french way but ALSO gay in a gay chicken way with yuki and against all odds they both won like katniss and peeta in the hunger games
lance: despite his gay little voice everything about him and his ex has me confident that he not only fucks exclusively heterosexually, but he fucks WELL
mick: i think there's a lil sumn sumn there. i don't know if or when it will ever come to light. but i don't think he's one hundred percent committed to straighthood. maybe it's bisexual osmosis from having seb as a mentor
yuki: DOES identify as straight but also identifies as never ever losing a game of gay chicken so now he and pierre have been fucking nightly for approximately several months and it's getting increasingly romantic each time
zhou: remember when we all used to say metrosexual in the early 2000s to describe a straight man with the fashion and grooming sense of a gay man?
alex: he and lily absolutely have bi4bi energy in every aspect of their online posting and that is why they are thee superior formula one couple
nicky: straight but i could fix him
bonus 1 (nyck): a man that short has to adapt to maximise his dating pool. it's basic evolutionary theory or something idk i dropped biology after gcses
bonus 2 (hulk): no.
bonus 3 (nico rosberg): the most flagrantly bisexual individual i have ever seen in my life and i look in the mirror daily

I see you talking about ouat and it unlocked thoughts that have been neatly filed away for years so here I am, yelling them at you.
I assume at this point spoilers arent a problem anymore for you but you said you originally didn't watch past the frozen but a warning just in case.
I kept watching for quite a long time, but I quit after the whole thing with ruby and Dorothy because what? it just felt so incredibly forced and badly written? and I'd gotten so annoyed because before we'd already had the whole thing with aurora and mulan, which I was rooting for but okay, that didn't work out, too bad for mulan. then we get a perfect set up for ruby and mulan. and it's just. never mentioned again???? ruby comes back eventually but wtf happened to mulan? it annoyed me so fucking much let me tell you.
also I remember trying to write out family/relationship trees and stuff for ouat to see how weirdly convoluted everything got. was very impressed that it seemed they managed to avoid accidentally having incest or something in the show with everything that was going on there.
I have so many more things but this has already gotten way longer than intended. do you have a favourite part of the show? I'm assuming your favourite characters is either regina or emma?
Oh man all of that brings back memories. I didn't stick around long enough for Ruby and Dorothy, but I got the sense that they were doing it to try and counteract the "avoiding Swan Queen because homophobia" allegations.
(I actually don't think they WERE avoiding Swan Queen because of homophobia, necessarily. I think it was never their intent to begin with; they just happened to attract a sapphic audience who were deeply on the Enemies to Lovers train. I do think they may have indulged in a bit of queerbaiting, though, because of some Emma/Regina moments that happened after the writers definitely knew the ship existed. I think it was never going to be canon, but they handled it poorly once they realized that people saw it as an option.)
I stopped watching around Frozen for a couple of reasons:
On a personal level, I just got sick of seeing the characters I shipped with other people. That's not an objective problem; it's my opinion and not everyone will agree. But to me, Hook was a whiny insecure manchild and Robin had the personality of Clippy the MS Word paperclip, and damnit, I wanted Emma and Regina to kiss each other instead of them!
On a This Is Bad Storytelling level, I HATED how Frozen was integrated. Earlier stories had been a nice blend of traditional fairytales with Disney adaptation elements- Beauty and the Beast where Gaston and Chip are both kind of there but in subtler ways, for example, or Cinderella where her dress resembles the 1950s animated version but everything else is different. Frozen, though, was just...Frozen. The entire plot of the movie Frozen had happened before the characters entered the OUAT storyline, their costumes were identical to those in the movie, and while I've heard that they added some different backstory- it just wasn't the "Hans Christian Andersen story with subtle Disney touches" that I would have expected from earlier seasons.
Personally, I don't think the initial curse should have been broken in a season. I feel like that locked them into a pattern of having to continually invent a new Darkest Evilest Most Powerful Magic EVER!!!!! to top the previous season, and that took them to some really weird places (I heard they went to literal hell at one point?). The show had a cool premise and some interesting ideas- I loved how they managed to give individual kingdoms distinct cultures and even fashions. You can tell the "look" of Snow White's kingdom from Cinderella's and Cinderella's from Ariel's, etc.
Everyone who would watch an entire season of Abigail's Ancient Greek Steampunk-ish kingdom, raise your hands. Seriously, so cool.
But something went wrong, IMO around season 4. I'm not sure if the show had just outlived its original concept or had outside pressures pulling it in different directions or what. All I know is, as far as I'm concerned, the show ends when Emma and Henry leave Storybrooke in season 3A. Pity It Was Cancelled So Soon, etc.
(although OOC Matronly SnowTM would have been perfect for live slug reaction memes, so there's that)

i was ranting to myself in a really disorganised fashion just now about how Barry has ADHD and like. dude. he absolutely has it. there's no way he doesn't. i myself am an undiagnosed ADHDer and i see so many traits in Barry. like.
in the rock opera 'The Very Last Minute', Barry spends the entirety of it procrastinating on training for the monster apocalypse and literally having almost every trait of ADHD ever. like when i watch this video and see Barry legitimately trying to do what he needs to but repeatedly getting stuck in a loop of jumping from task to task and struggling at actually get started on The Big Task™, i see me. like. that is me.
Barry tries to train. he really does. he really does try to take a crack at it, but he just can't focus on it. he just keeps getting distracted by it over and over and avoiding what he needs to do with other little tasks to keep him occupied at every single moment. and like he knows he really needs to do it. he knows that it's super important that he gets started on it as soon as he can. in fact, there are several lyrics to this effect: "Gotta keep focused, gotta keep training, but I just can't seem to stop procrastinating" and "I should probably stop working on this rocking theme song" are a couple that come to mind. but for whatever reason, he just can't focus on it properly and it ends up with him looking like he's "lazy" or "not putting in the effort". like, you see him get exhausted by doing a single skiprope jump, and that is how i feel whenever i try to do a big task when i'm not ready for it or focused at all. it's really really heard to focus on something that seems so big and overwhelming when you have ADHD, so you often kind of try to avoid it and ignore it because it's super daunting by doing smaller tasks. the difference between executive dysfunction and perceived laziness is that if you were being lazy, you wouldn't care and would likely be having a great time slacking off, even when you are reminded of the task at hand. but with executive dysfunction, you can forget about it for a while, but deep inside you likely still care and know you NEED to get the task done soon, and when you're eventually reminded or suddenly remember, you feel a crushing sense of dread. at least, that's how it is for me. and all the excessive task switching and getting everything else done except The Big Task™ you need to get done the most? i do that! i do that!!!
Barry literally does the ADHD thing where he sets an alarm that tells him to do what he needs to do, but the thing is that he was already doing something else on his phone beforehand and presumably forgot about the alarm, so when the alarm goes off, he just feels like he suddenly can't and that it's way too daunting to actually start because it feels like an intrusion. like. that's the ADHD thing!!! he's doing it!!!! he's doing the ADHD thing!!!!! his executives are NOT functioning!!!!!!
Barry also shows a lot of ADHD traits in 'Rainbow Barry' as well, as they're the most prominent in that specific short. in fact, he shows literally every single inattentive trait in all of the shorts together. impulsiveness, distractibility, impatience, forgetfulness, commitment issues, not following instructions properly, he's even got the emotional problems that come with it like being easily angered and frustrated. he EVEN shows the same traits in the JJ2 event dialogues!!! like!!!! look at the dialogues on the JJ wiki and tell me he isn't having ADHD traits!!!!! bro is clearly showing each individual ADHD symptom in everything he's in and either no one is noticing it or no one is talking about it and i'm just SO obsessed with this headcanon/theory of mine. Barry Steakfries is an undiagnosed ADHDer and nobody can convince me otherwise

i’ve seen some talk lately about how superhero civilian outfits have become boring and uninspired, and that their outfits in the 70s/80s showcased a lot more individual personality. which kara outfits from back then would you say suited her the most?
thank u so much for this question i love thinking about kara's civilian outfits <3 here are some of my favorites from the 70s/80s:
Tumblr media
(my favs from this are the green pants/black top and the pink skirt outfits from the top row <3) they're all very cute and fun. there was obviously effort put into designing something she would genuinely wear, and i think everything that they put her in does a good job at getting across what her personality was at the time. she was very confident and actually really enjoyed fashion, which you could chalk up to male writers thinking "what do women find interesting? clothing, obviously." BUT i do view kara as a very artistic person (in every field—acting, painting, music etc etc) so it definitely ties into that for me!
and because i spent a good half hour collecting panels of kara's more modern outfit choices, here's my thoughts on her fashion from other eras:
when kara was first reintroduced in 2004 it was clear that the outfits she was put in were chosen to maximize her sexual appeal:
Tumblr media
to me this just reads as what the artists (ian churchill and michael turner in this case) found attractive. there's no real character reason for why she chooses to dress this way, which i guess is fitting considering how she was characterized during this time. imo she really didn't have a discernible personality beyond "oversexualized 2000s teenage girl". later on (when loeb and kelly stopped writing her) her clothing choices get more personality and it seems like there's genuine thought put into what she's wearing:
Tumblr media
i'm generally not a fan of 2000s/2010s fashion (i do think a lot of these outfits are cute though!), but it's clear to me that the artists thought "what would kara—someone who's in her late teens and had been on earth for a couple years at this point—choose to wear?" instead of "what is the sexiest thing that i, a grown man, can think to put this teenager in?"
now for rebirth—i don't like how she dresses (i think it's boring and uninspired), BUT i do think it's fitting for her personality at this time. early on in rebirth kara was characterized as being pretty reserved and unsure of herself. all her clothes are fairly plain and she also worked at catco (cw supergirl my enemy 🔪) so she pretty much just wore business casual outfits all the time (🤮):
Tumblr media
and i don't love it! it's just shirt-jacket-pants over and over again (with some exceptions). and it makes sense! she's trying to stay out of the spotlight and keep her identity hidden, so i get that she'd wear some plainer clothing that contrasts with what she wears as supergirl. and obviously it's important to keep in mind that she's like 16 at this point, so it's not like i expect her to have a super intricate wardrobe, but again it's just boring to me. it's somewhat fitting! but it stinks.

An attempt at an actually good explanation of the head types
Let the takeaway be this: Curiosity, imagination & inquisitiveness is a shared characteristic between all of them.
With some 6 it gets shut down cause they get too bogged down in anxiety or superego correctness, kinda like those really numbed-out 3s sometimes, but the natural disposition is curious & imaginative as well. I mean, how would you concoct all those worst case scenarious without at least latent imagination?
Same for a tendency to want to analyze, understand and "track" what's happening, automatically looking for patterns. Also sometimes characterized as the funny triad, though, ive met some plenty funny 9s and 8s.
Another thing to note is that its not just "logic" that lives here but speculative imagination, future planning & conceptual thinking. What is logic but imagination that is disciplined by rules?
This is especially worth keeping in mind when you consider mbti combinations - ovsly Ts will be more overtly intellectual, Fs might show the imagination side more or be drawn to humanities-related concepts such as art, sociology, psychology... - though of course, both can have both. A xSFx who is a 6 will be more 'concepty' than a 9, in that sense that's a well-balanced combo.
All three tend not be noted for their perceptiveness, but immature individuals can also share the possible weakness of thinking their noggin is god's gift to mankind. (though the 6s are less obviously braggarts to avoid being targeted - more like, "people who share my politics are smart" or "its just common sense")
The fact that scary situations can stimulate planning is kind of an interesting hint at how the capacity for imagination evolved. With all 3 you can see a tendency to 'speed up' if something unforeseen happens that distinguishes them from the other triads, though it shows somewhat differently in each of them.
Now I have no clue about this at all as I don't really pick up on that sort of thing, but another commonality you sometimes hear mentioned which sounds kinda fascinating is a tendency for the eyes sometimes not quite match the rest of the expression or a lot of the expressiveness being in the eyes generally. Like someone acting aggro or cheery but you can tell from the eyes they're inwardly freaked out, or that's how I've heard it described.
So, now that we've established the commonalities and that no single one of them is "the" learning interested type, how do you nail which one you are? For this, it pays to keep in mind both the specific thinking style as well as the temperament that typically goes with it.
Soo... what kind of information can't you get enough of?
7 - the latest new stuff that is full of cool, exciting possibilities. Novelty, technological innovation, avantgardistic art & fashion, anything exciting adventurous & cool, working on a new project or skill every couple of months. Often very good at quick thinking, improvising, and talking people into almost anything. - this is most often an extrovert and usually an active, optimistic, confident, fun-loving and dynamic but not always all that reliable or responsible person. ~ sort of like an inventor or explorer who sees the potential in things. As a thinking style, it's the most associative & open ended, considering how all the multiple frameworks available could be used to solve your problem. Quick at concocting new plans on the spot. Like a mind map or web of loosely connected concepts. Focussed on securing good outcomes, can get anxious that they're not gonna get those good things. Tends to assume they're going to win, sometimes to the point of overconfidence or denial. Tends to discard ideas that are no longer useful or entertaining them & look for ever newer & better ones.
6 - keeping up with politics & important happenings, what is going on with the people in your circle, not missing any potential dangers or important developments, tests & questions everything not easily fooled by scams, looks for the truth behind everything & its trustwortiness - most often introvert but still somewhat sociable, but extrovert is possible - character wise, can be sceptical, argumentative, and a big worrier but also likeable, perseverant, funny, brave, and good team players. - a bit like a detective or journalist, looking for truths. As a thinking style, it's systematic and context-sensitive. Information is related to relationships, morals, political contexts, power dynamics etc. and categorizing things - but not in a simplistic way, but with awareness of how categories can intersect or contradict each other. Like building a map or grid. Focussed on preventing bad outcomes, can get anxious about those bad things happening. Tends to expect a struggle, sometimes to the point of overpreparation or combativeness. Tends to be concerned with whether to adopt or resist ideas, which should be adopted & which resisted, which are "correct" or "certain".
5 - indiscriminately retains all manner of unrelated random stuff just because, for its own sake. Will obsess endlessly over and absorb every last detail about anything that personally interests them even if its something totally obscure, completely theoretical, gross/disturbing, esoteric or of no practical use. Usually very strongly introverted. Blunt, cynical, eccentric and rather sensitive in disposition, but since they're so reclusive they can tend to be known only as "that weirdo who only talks about [current obsession]" - like a collector or philosopher. As a thinking style, its about looking for contrasts, underlying principles, and to try to look at things from as much of an unbiased perspective as possible. Like a decision tree or filing cabinet. Doesn't tie themselves to particular outcomes but rather to anticipate what's going to happen & how to navigate it. Can get anxious that they can't deal with what's coming. Tends to have low expectations, sometimes to the point of being defeatist or doomerism. Rather than rely on outside ideas, try to synthesize their own version, phrasing everything in their own words.
Addendum: I find a lot of confusions come from shared traits in triads being more emphasized in some of the typical descriptions - that's how you get 9s and 5s landing on 4, 6s landing on other reactives, and 6 and 7 landing on 5.
Doesn't help that there's been this shift in the later authos to discuss mostly the temperament for 7 and 6, but you gotta dig out palmer, maitri or naranjo to learn what that actually makes them mental types, whereas with 5, the nerd stuff stayed but all the specifity was lost in regards temperament - The defeatism angle alone would sort out all the mistyped 6s and 3s real quick if it was more emphasized.
Maybe this is in part cause 6 and 7 have roughly even F/T ratio whereas 5 somewhat skews toward T, though by far not as much as 8 or 1, or as much as 4 and 2 do the reverse.

ASTROLOGY AND GIFT-GIVING PT. 5🎁
🌪 AIR SIGNS EDITION
Tumblr media
Air signs love LEARNING new things, even though they do it in slightly different ways.
CONNECTION is more important than anything to them, which is why the company they are in can make or break their mood/celebration.
They are honestly the most unpretentious when it comes to receiving gifts, and their tastes aren't set in stone or strictly specified. They are curious and open to trying out new things.
♈ GEMINIS are the Tricksters of the zodiac, and they love to have a fun time. If you host them a party, make sure it includes puzzles, card games, and even roleplay! They love connecting with others on a personal level, so keep the circle relatively small and/or maybe host it at home? Alternatively, you can go to a stand-up comedy show together.
Many of them have a unique/twisted sense of humor, and they love to read, so maybe you could find some weird, witty books to gift them. They love to learn about everything, so even books about random topics they know nothing about may spark their curiosity, and become their next favorite hobby. At least for a month or two.😁
Gemini rules the 3rd house of day-to-day life, so they pretty much enjoy the small things that bring joy. A day spent in the right company, talking and goofing around town or exploring nearby cities, can be more rewarding than anything "fancy".  The 3rd house is also connected to vehicles, so bonus points if you use bikes to move around or go roller-skating.
They are also the messengers/communicators of the zodiac, and they sure have a LOT to say, so why not give them an outlet for that? Buy them a funky journal or pen to help them document their thoughts and emotions. If they are open to the idea, you could even get them a quality mic to start their own podcast.
I find that a SPRINKLE of the opposite sign's energy can be a good move. To help Geminis find balance, gift them a slightly Sagittarian gift. Expand their perspective and beliefs by giving them a book on the topic of philosophy or esoterica, but make sure it's written in an accessible way that won't bore them to death. Especially if they REALLY aren't into this kind of stuff, normally. E.g, I've seen cool comic books on Zen Buddhism.
You can also take them camping or go on a longer trip around the country. Geminis tend to get in the details sometimes, so you can broaden their perspective by feeding them facts and knowledge about history. Visit sacred spaces or ruins, and museums - give them a cultural expansion!
♌ LIBRAS, ruled by Venus, the planet of love and beauty, enjoy *surprise* beauty products and fashion. They love (natural) skincare, accessories, and makeup.
They also love to play with their home interior. However, make sure you know their aesthetic preferences well. They are the pickiest Air sign, but even if you "mess up", you probably won't even hear a word about it. Alternatively, you can feed their hunger for culture and art by visiting an art gallery/museum or something similar. If you decide to give them a book, go for the fiction genre and poetry instead of science. They are super intelligent, don't get me wrong. But they are also the most sensual, feminine, and emotional Air sign.
Libras love to connect one-on-one, so definitely try to do something together. If you are a couple, you could go on a movie date *preferably romantic movie* and have a nice dinner at a restaurant afterward. Bonus points if you cook them a nice healthy meal at home, set up the table with candles, and try all of the cheesy romantic stuff you've seen in the movies.
I find that a SPRINKLE of the opposite sign's energy can be a good move. To help Libras find balance, you can gift them a slightly Aries gift. They would benefit from things/experiences that strengthen self-confidence and individuality by shifting their focus on themselves/their goals/interests.
You can also ignite their inner fire by taking them to a competitive sports class or martial arts class such as kickboxing, for example – see how that makes them feel. If they are already into fitness and sports, you can give them sports apparel.
♐ AQUARIANS are the most solitary of all air signs. They are the true definition of an ambivert – someone who is both an introvert and an extrovert. They love to exchange ideas and collaborate with others, but up to a certain point. After they reach that point, they tend to disappear into their inner world. To help them effectively tune the outside world off, you can gift them headphones or tools to develop their own spiritual/self-improvement practices and routines.
Give them some sort of a puzzle/toy they will be able to disassemble and put back together. They love to see the inner workings of systems and things, so "toys" like this are perfect. An obvious gift idea is technology if you can afford it.
If you decide to give them a book, go for the celestial sciences such as astronomy or astrology, and if it’s fiction - they like sci-fi. A LOT. They are the humanitarians of the zodiac, so books that educate them on current social/political issues or technological progress are a good idea.
They love to accentuate their individuality and to even elicit strong reactions in others, so unique clothing pieces/accessories with witty text on them, and all kinds of personalized items that show them you appreciate their quirks, are ideal. Aquarius also rules Astrology and the Occult, so it’s pretty obvious what you could get them. *wink*
I find that a SPRINKLE of the opposite sign's energy can be a good move. To help Aquarians find balance, you can gift them a slightly Leo gift. Bring out their heart and passion to the front by hosting a party. Many of them don't even celebrate their birthdays, and they can totally get too sucked into the “self-improvement” spiral. Help them have a good time that may or may not involve drinking games, lots of selfies, and silly/sexy dancing.
You could also take an art class or see a play together. These activities will allow them to access their untapped reserves of emotion. *jk jk* If they are hesitant to go to an art class, there is even a better alternative. Gather art supplies and have fun drawing and experimenting with different techniques and whatever comes to mind. Art talent: not required. In fact, to take it a step further, draw as awkwardly and chaotically as you can, and put your creations on eBay for sale. Laugh at yourselves. The point is to tap into Leo's childlike creativity and confidence which Aquarians seem to lack at times.
Okay, guys, this was the final post of this "series". Honestly, I am so over it at this point 😂I feel like I only really wanted to write the first part. But still,

2023 is the Year to Become a Mindful Consumer
With the level of consumerism today, it is good to practice to view everything as an advertisement. This is not to stress you out, but for the benefit of understanding where it's worthwhile to put your time, money, and energy -- all of which affect beyond just you and this current generation. It's an amazing lens to wear to encourage you to consider where your need for purchasing an item, adopting a certain lifestyle, or even following certain social media accounts is coming from. We are all transmitting and receiving messages amongst one another constantly. The question is, "Which messages do I find value in supporting? Are the intentions here pure? Will contributing to this allow me and my community flourish?"
According to Merriam-Webster, an advertisement is "a public notice especially : a paid notice that is published or broadcast (as to attract customers or to provide information of public interest)" Advertisement comes from the French word avertir meaning "to turn, direct, make aware"
So, understand this: Influencers, celebrities, and politicians are advertisements. Billboards and commercials are advertisements. Labels are advertisements. News broadcasts are advertisements. Newspaper/article headlines are advertisements. BUT ALSO...The clothing one wears is an advertisement (even if it is devoid of branding). One's behavior is an advertisement. A facial expression is an advertisement (informing others of one's feelings). Artworks are advertisements. Institutions of education are advertisements. Songs are advertisements. Blogs are advertisements. Photos uploaded to social media are advertisements. Speeches, sermons, and talks are advertisements.
All that influences you to make certain choices in your day is an advertisement. Some things are advertising positive messages. Some are advertising horrible messages. And others are offering mixed messages.
We don't realize the depth of advertisements in our lives, for one, because we are told to be advertisements ourselves. It feels important to our survival: to attain enough money, admiration, and acceptance. We are encouraged to look a certain way on paper (resumes, CVs, cover letters, report cards, exam scores, etc), in media (photographs, interviews, podcasts, videos), and in face-to-face interactions (accents, fashion style, body shape, makeup, etc).
We don't want to lose authenticity amongst friends and family. We want to talk to real human beings on emotional, logical, and spiritual levels, right? Becoming a mindful consumer is coupled in with helping you realize what you stand for, remain an active thinker, and hold secure with your empathy. When you step up in this aspect, it will encourage others to do the same. It's important that we stay connected with being truthful & kind individuals with depth, I would think.
HOW TO (remember what I defined as an advertisement):
Notice what is being advertised. Is there a literal product (you may need to look for product placement, scripted review, restrictions on sharing honest opinion, etc)? An ideal? A societal standard? A new concept?
What was your honest emotional response to the advertisement? Did it seem alluring? Revolting? Boring? Intriguing? Disturbing? Confusing? Frustrating? (Notice as well what your gut feelings are saying).
Notice what sensory aspects of the advertisement affected your emotions. Was it the color palette, music, filter, word choice, lettering, vocal inflection, etc? What is the general vibe of the advertisement? Is it cheery? Fearful? Hopeful? Inspiring? Angry? Degrading? Does the emotional vibe make sense with the message?
Notice the intentions behind the advertisement. Is the predominant intention here to gain money? Make positive change for those struggling? Deceive or confuse people? Spread gossip or hate? Encourage? (Know about the characters of the individuals, the pasts of the companies, the institutional influences, the historical comparisons which can be drawn, if individuals are being taken advantage of, how true are the claims, if there is funding going on). Does the advertiser show indication of integrity? Do they make use of "experts," popular individuals, and buzz words to distract from the natural inclination to find proof or reason to approve of the advertisement's messaging?
If you are left at all unsure if you agree with what is being advertised, do research (be sure you know how to find reliable sources, but sometimes it's worth seeing what the opposition/competitors/opposing perspectives say too). It's always good to be informed. You can even send questions directly to the person or company advertising. Evaluate with logic & intuition, to avoid letting pure, knee-jerk emotionality to do the decision-making.
Remain flexible to change your mind about your initial evaluations. Sometimes, we aren't always accurate the first time because we didn't have a full enough picture.
Generally, it's good to realize that labels/appearances/glimpses are not going to fully or accurately represent the truth of what is being advertised. It's up to us to notice how true they are. Look at the fine print.
PRACTICE: look at the ads on television, social media pages, magazines, newspapers, and websites. Move into considering songs, television shows, movies, social media videos, and documentaries. And keep on evaluating as you expand what you consider to be an advertisement.
‼It helps to gain knowledge of what the most influential people, titles (eg. doctor, specialist, best-seller, award-winner, etc), and institutions are. They usually are not widely scrutinized and so their messages are taken on as near fact. They also will be able to influence entire markets/spheres/communities with ease.
GOOD DEMONSTRATIONS: a b

Dtk and azrael headcannons? I’m so invested in this AU ❤️
OF COURSE!
most of my individual/general dtk headcanons are probably somewhere here
Az:
he really likes pirates and follows that fashion aesthetic (in the way that Kid has a sort of cowboy theme)
he can manifest wings
physically cannot lie (he's a worse liar than Maia)
extremely artistic
dyslexic
has an emotional support animal named Cerberus. Maia picked her up from an alley and took her home for Azrael. Cerberus is a Cornish Rex and Amelia's bitter enemY
Cerberus and Az also have a strong soul bond and Cerberus can manifest into a giant three-headed cat. He forms a sort of psychic link with her because yeah he can do that
he's got a pair of symmetrical freckles under each eye
A skeptic
Blindly obedient
(idk if we've posted any coloured Az drawings) His eyes are gold like Kid's but the third eye is red
Just in case we didn't clarify, he has the power of premonition
Loves honey! Probably his favourite food/flavour
Will probably duo wield Amelia and Maia at some point. They both end up as Death Scythes but I don't think he fights with them often
Oh yeah he doesn't do much combat
Freaks Amelia out sometimes
If Az has a nightmare he goes to Maia who will probably have one as well and they both do a sad middle night march to Amelia's room and she begrudgingly lets them crash there
Gets annoyed when Amelia smokes (doesn't like the smell)
cries a lot
can't swim
Likes to sit with Tsubaki and watch the rain in silence. She makes him tea with honey
doesn't talk a lot
Kid and Az:
can sense each other's emotions? similar to how Maia is sensitive to Soul's emotions but not quite the same
VERY IMPORTANT!! Azrael will hide in Kid's cape
They don't talk much to each other. They'll usually just sit in comfortable silence. Kid sometimes will talk to him about what he knows and that's probably how Azrael learns. Just by listening and observing
Azrael's hair is curlier than Kid's but he still has the matching (iconic) cowlick mullet thing at the nape of his neck
They look almost exactly alike, except Azrael has an extra freckle, different hair texture and sanzu lines, and the third eye
Azrael reacts more emotionally than Kid does, more like what Kid was like as a child but they have different anxieties
I imagine Azrael is good at the more functional aspects of Kid's job (planning, documentation, surveillance, protection) but struggles a little more with the diplomacy and the power parts of it all
Kid hides Azrael's existence from the public for a bit for a couple reasons. First because Azrael started out pretty rough with the whole necromancy witch situation, and he needs time to recover and adjust. Second because he was concerned that people would react adversely because his origins are associated with Morgana's Asura drama, and because of his appearance (Asura eye). Third because Kid probably wanted time to process everything
Death City tends to have mixed opinions on Azrael but Kid always defends him fiercely (and if that doesn't work Maia and Black Star go and throw some punches)

For the ship ask game, Elizabeth/Darcy
Sadly, the long post that got eaten was my original response to this. It had a lot in it, but I'll do my best to remember it.
So! Elizabeth/Darcy is the queen of ships, the terror of the seas, the—yeah, I ship it.
1- What made you ship it?
I don't remember! I was only eleven. I think I considered Mary/Darcy briefly for some reason, but (properly) discarded it. I do remember that I really wanted Elizabeth/Darcy to happen from quite early (I thought Wickham was obviously lying), and partly because of that and partly because of missing things on my first read, I was genuinely surprised that Elizabeth refused him! I thought she'd accept because of her family's situation etc, and then they'd have to deal with their conflicts in marriage.
(This isn't an unusual fic plot, and I myself wrote a fic that was meant to lead to Elizabeth and Darcy having to deal with their issues as a married couple—though I never got to the marriage part—so maybe not quite as batshit as it seems in retrospect, lol.)
2- What are your favorite things about this ship?
There's a lot that I love, obviously. I love the youthful energy of their dynamic, even when it leads to mistakes. They really feel like peers. I love the sense of balance between them. It doesn't rely on everything about their thoughts, feelings, and actions being individually equivalent or even always similar, yet these individual things add up to put them on a par intellectually and morally in a way that is actually pretty unusual for Austen.
I love that they're both clever and truly ethical with a bit of an edge that makes both of them impressive, and both of them very compelling characters in general and together. Yet when they fall in love with each other, they're both rather silly about it.
Despite being borderline ace (and lesbian!) myself, I also enjoy the sexual charge between them. I think that, despite the restraint of Austen's style, it's pretty glaring, especially in the last third or so of the book.
Oh, and I love something that I don't always with other ships. They end up with pretty much everything they could conceivably want out of life, we're assured of their eternal gratitude for their marriage (this is the final line, in fact), they get ... it all. It's not all that common for me to encounter a ship treated so generously by its author, without it feeling forced or saccharine.
But it doesn't feel that way at all (for me). I think there's a reason that it's such a juggernaut in the fandom and people are often so ??? about alternate pairings. You can feel the favor of the narrative itself for them, the way it's so fundamental to the fabric of the narrative that nearly everything in it serves to further the Elizabeth/Darcy plot in some way, yet in a way that makes the novel feel rich and engaging rather than shallow. And at the same time, they have it all! They're smart and hot and good and in love and happy and will never have to worry about money or anything worse than minor inconveniences from extended family, they're going to continue to grow as people, they're—it's so nice and so satisfying in a way that's actually really hard to execute well and it's done so well here.
3- Is there an unpopular opinion you have on this ship?
Many, lol. Despite their immense popularity, I think in some ways that the ship is kind of a victim of it, because there are these inescapable pop culture osmosis ideas of them that just strike me as either reductive or simply wrong. I don't think Darcy is a brooding sexy alpha male romance hero or that Elizabeth is a feisty individualist woman ahead of her time.
I think they're both very much of their time, actually! Darcy is not old-fashioned for the time and Elizabeth is not ahistorically unique. In fact, I would like to see depictions leaning into them as products of their time rather than away (I know of a few, but it's not common in the way I'm thinking, esp given my preference for the 1790s setting).

hellooooo 🖤 could i request something with jumin, zen & saeyoung (or just jumin if three is too many !) with a goth s/o (maybe like romantic goth? 🤔) i hope you're having a lovely day :,)
Zen is the last person you should ever be worried about not appreciating or respecting your sense of individuality. He knows what it feels like to have people say things about you and your appearance every single day.
The last thing he would ever do is judge somebody else for something they do with their body. If you like to dress in dark colors, okay, what does he have to stand in being against that? Absolutely nothing.
He supports you being yourself and that's all that matters at the end of the day. He has actually dressed up in gothic attire for a couple of his shows before in the past and he appreciated the way that the style worked for him. It wouldn't be that hard to talk him into doing it again. It's not like he wouldn't try it for fun.
It's even better that you're a lovey-dovey kind of person because that's the kind of person he is. The two of you will be the most insufferable couple on the planet. But that's okay because you're insufferable together and that is the best kind of romance.
The kind where you are able to be yourself with the person you love most without any embarrassment.
Jumin would really enjoy your sense of style and believe it or not. If there is something he enjoys more than anything in this world it is the chance to be able to see somebody shine as they are. There is something about individuality and the way that everybody expresses that in society outside of the bounds and the confines of what he was raised in that makes him feel warm inside.
He has always had to live his life in a very peculiar way and he didn't have the opportunity to express himself beyond those walls. He doesn't have many people to share his interest with and a lot of them are very dark and macabre.
Who better to understand him than somebody who bathes themselves in the darkness and understands what it feels like to want a sense of individuality that goes against the grain of everything society stands for?
He would appreciate your style and even though it's not something that he would personally wear, he likes seeing you be yourself more than anything else in this world. Nobody will ever say a cruel word about your style because you are confident and you deserve to be. There is no person he would rather have at his side than somebody like you, somebody who loves him and doesn't care about the superficialness of appearance.
As long as he can be himself with you, that's all that matters.
Saeyoung thrives when he's able to express himself with fashion. It doesn't matter what it is, when he has the opportunity to dress up, he will take it and it doesn't matter what style is reflected in the closet, he's going to go for it. He can appreciate anybody who has taken the time to figure out their personal sense of style and knows what makes them feel good.
He knows what makes him feel good and oftentimes, that is a style that allows him to feel rather effeminate. It goes against the grain of what cishet societal standards demand of him but he doesn't care. He enjoys being able to be himself, and that means he would thrive the minute he gets to see you in your true colors.
There is no reason why he wouldn't be supportive of you wearing this fashion subculture. In fact, it wouldn't take much to get him to dress up that way with you because he loves being able to share his love of fashion with somebody who means the world to him. You can spend hours figuring out different outfits that work together so that you can be that couple.
You know, that couple that is always coordinated together and everybody wants to be, but sometimes it takes a little bit too much work. But, it's worth the work.

The crown chakra is perhaps the most mystical of all chakras.
Located at the top of the head, it sits like a crown, governing the pituitary gland.
It is represented by the color purple or white, and its pictorial presentation is that of a purple flower with a thousand petals.
In today’s guide we’ll be talking a closer look at how the crown chakra works as well as giving you some simple but powerful tips for healing and crown chakra effectively.
An underdeveloped crown chakra usually manifests itself as close-mindedness and cynicism about life. Individuals with a blocked crown chakra may also have a hard time letting go of the need to intellectualize everything and may want to look for logical answers to all the mysterious things they may encounter in life. In addition, a malfunctioning crown chakra may put you in the peculiar state of obsession with spirituality and spiritual matters, as well as the need to want to get away from an environment that seems too stimulating when it comes to harsh light and sounds. Mystical depression, chronic exhaustion and disorders of the muscular system all show up when there is an imbalance of the crown chakra.
A healthy crown chakra, on the other hand, allows us to be stellar humanitarians that make it easy to see how we’re all interconnected. On top of that, we may have a highly developed sense of ethics and personal values that we won’t compromise for anyone or anything. A healthy crown chakra also leads us down the path of spirituality, connecting us to the divine source energy that is also known as God. We are able to build an identity that’s not connected to outside things, and we are more likely to trust others and give of ourselves in a selfless manner.
Here are a couple of things you can do to balance your crown chakra:
Give up fluoride. This substance is found in treated water as well as toothpaste, and it has the potential to calcify the pituitary gland. Opt for fluoride-free toothpaste, and look into purchasing soft water that’s not been treated using harsh chemicals.
Take time out to meditate at least once a day. This helps you build a connection with the Source in a gradual fashion. The meditation you perform doesn’t have to be attached to a particular religious doctrine; whichever religion or God you subscribe will be right for you.
Let go of attachment to things and titles since these are what make us develop an ego that is unhealthy. You need to realize that your essence is not who you are or how much you make or even where you live. You are a valid member of the universe that can be the best they can be regardless of these trappings.
At the end of the day, balancing your crown chakra can go a long way in ensuring that prana moves through your body the way it should.

I love chapter 42 so much!✨️✨️✨️
It's so nice to see Suguru and Yuuji bonding even though the reason for it is so tragic... like, I am glad Suguru finally sees Yuuji as a person and that Yuuji can feel safe around someone, but I wish the reason wasn't Sukuna ruining everyone's lives because he's a drama queen.
Nobara getting ready to attack Sugur in Higurama's name is so sweet of her. Like, you really captured the essence of her character in that one scene!💖
Well, they're finally putting together the pieces of the puzzle and it doesn't look nice at all... At least now they're all kind of on the same page about Mahito, Hajime and Kenjaku.
Toji is right about blaming Sukuna. Like, I understand why Yuuji feels guilty (he is a precious bean and also 10), but I hope his family can convince him that getting possessed by an asshole doesn't mean you're guilty for his actions.
The conversation between Nanami and Sukuna was so interesting! I love how Sukuna overshares and monologues, I am certain spending however many years he spent all by himself did not help his social skills. Like, he is dropping so many hints about his tragic backstory: the psychological torture comments, the whole "sucks to be the strongest", the no longer having a soul, there is nothing good in this world anymore, the Yuu-Ji thing as well. Once I finish my final exam I will try to put together a theory because all I can do right now is rotate everything in my mind.
Sukuna's opinion on humanity is very interesting. I like how you gave him complex thoughts on human nature and a philosophy of his own. It's really great how you gave both him and Kenjaku ideologies that tie into the themes of the story instead of the classic "I am evil, always have been, always will be". Like, even though Kenjaku is irredeemable at least he is motivated by something. And if Sukuna is going to get forcefully added to the found family he needs some toxic beliefs to let go of.
Yuuji and Megumi make me so sad, but at least the bullying Sukuna club is there to make it better.
✨️Sukuna got called a weird individual!✨️
✨️Sukuna learned how to pronounce Yuuji's name!✨️
"There's nothing good left in the world!" This is Uraume slander. Like, I can't believe Sukuna is saying this while his bestie is still out there... smh. Uraume was there by his side during his entire flop era and this is how he repays them? I get that he needs to drop hints about his tragic backstory in the most dramatic fashion, but he could be more considerate.😔
Satoru and Suguru will finally talk!✨️✨️✨️Took them long enough.
Yuuji called Nanami his papa, told Shoko she is his mother!✨️ (I am so glad he disowned Kenjaku✨️✨️✨️)
Nanashoko is the only couple that has rights smh... I am glad they got together and proved that talking to each other like normal people has benefits. Good for them!🎉💖🎉
Nanami's second conversation with Sukuna was also interesting... Sukuna really says a lot of concerning stuff out of nowhere that makes zero sense without context and he seems less than willing to provide context. The one policy that he's no longer interested in is such and interesting thing and I am glad Nanami doesn't let him avoid the subject. Like, he managed to back the King of Curses into a corner! Good for him!
Also, congratulations on graduating!✨️
✨️💖✨️
i'm glad you enjoyed chapter 42!! yeah getou and yuuji bonding was sooo sweet, even if the origin of their cute dynamic was getou beating the shit out of the demon in yuuji's body, which was technically still yuuji himself. ouch. well at least getou made some serious progress seeing him as a person rather than, well, yknow
WAHH NOBARA AND HIGURUMA...they're making progress too, even if they're less open about it.
yeah, you could really see the puzzle pieces fitting together in that first scene huh? the poor fam realizing with mounting horror that this has all been planned for years...at least they figured out it isn't really getou's fault, and now they, for the most part, know who they're up against. though they definitely do not see who "yuuji's mother" is coming. toji's so right, sukuna's at fault here too
BRO THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN NANAMI AND SUKUNA WAS SO FUN TO WRITE. plus it was really fun to explore sukuna's potential thoughts on humanity in a compelling way since we know so little about his canon psyche. he deserves a philosophy of his own and weird, offputting takes on human nature!! plus i personally think evil because it's fun isnt quite as intriguing as evil because it's satisfying
regarding uraume...stay tuned, because THAT is gonna be crazy. i promise he didn't forget about them. he couldn't even if he tried. i'll leave it at that for now
PLEASE nanashoko rights!! stsg get your shit together, these two are outdoing you at communication and theyve been together for a few hours. nanami rlly managed to back sukuna into a corner RIGHT after that. this dude gets it.
tysm for reading <333

I would love to hear your thoughts on how louis engages with masculinity.
anon 2: Not the same anon, but would you like to talk about how Louis engages with masculinity? I am quite interested to hear your thoughts on it.
******
Thanks anons - that's a really interesting question that I've really enjoyed thinking about.
I've been mulling over what a useful framework for understanding msaculinity is - particularly from a point of view of how an individual might engage with it and there are two points that I want to make. The first is that I think masculinity is something more than what would currently be understood as gender presentation - masculinity is also about power. So to understand how someone engages with masculinity also involves looking at how they interact with other people and heterosexuality as an institution. The second, obvious but worth articulating point, is that every part of masculinity is culturally specific - and not in an abstract sense, but about a particular time and place and relating to the wider power relationships of that place.
By starting with how Louis self-presents and interacts with cultural signifiers that are associated with gender - we can see that the starting point is the working-class, northern English culture he grew up with. A lot of fandom discussion don't really seem to understand that relationship - and see everything which is a signifier of not liking posh things as being about gender - as if working class women don't exist. (This is a side note so I won't go fully into it - but one of the things I hate about shallow discussions of masculinity - is that they'll often equate masculinity with being working-class in a way that seems designed to erase the dangers of men with power).
I'm not going to talk specifically about fashion today, because I've talked about it before. But as he largely engages in fashion that is part of working-class culture - there is an interesting ambiguity around gender and fashion. Nobody would ever look at Louis and say 'that's feminine' or 'those are women's clothes. (Even though I think there have been a couple of times when the fashion ID suggested that they were). But if a woman or non-binary person was wearing them, people wouldn't necessarily say 'those are men's clothes'. It all comes back to men and masculinity being treated as normal - but the dynamics of streetwear are quite different from clothes that trace their history to more formal menswear traditions.
It is very obvious that as well as focusing on working-class gender performance - he also largely avoids engaging with cultural signifiers associated with feminity. My assumption here is that Louis almost certainly likes the things he says he likes and dislikes the things he says he dislikes - but he's also not sharing everything. We've no way of knowing what he engages with and doesn't share (and I think it's really important to assume that there's lots he doesn't share with us. I think it's as annoying to assume that what we see is all there is, as it is to assume that what Louis is hiding conforms to a very narrow image a particular fan has of him). But I think it's also reasonable to respond to what he presents - and he presents himself as largely not engaging with cultural signifiers associated with femininity. That's one of the things that fans are responding to. Part of my problem with responding to it is that I've had a lot of terrible takes in my inbox and it's hard not to feel like I'm somewhat responding to them. So I might just leave it there. I'll just say that I think the way to analyse this is focusing the way that seeing an absence of femininity is core to masculinity - and not demanding that an individual performs femininity for your amusement.
There is an interesting exception to this, which is slightly bigger than signifiers - and that's emotions. Louis presents himself as someone who is very in touch with his emotions and willing to be vulnerable (this is where there are some interesting cross-overs into power). I think that's interesting about him as a person, but I also think how he does it is really telling. When he talks about it, he often makes it a characteristic of men like him (saying things like - in Yorkshire we wear our hearts on his sleeve). He's not presenting himself as separate and different from other men, but instead suggesting that being in touch with emotions is fully compatible with his understanding of masculinity (I don't know how widely recognised this would be - I think it's interesting either way).
This provides quite a nice segue into power - one of the things I reacted to most strongly recently (although there's tough competition) as a description of Louis as macho - to me that suggests an aggressive and combative understanding of power and masculinity. That's not what we see Louis do - when we see him interact it isn't with a sense of hierarchy, but much more attempting to build common bonds. So much of the way Louis interacts with people appears to have elements of siblings to it. With fans, or people who he has status around - he's the big brother. But it's not just that - you see a wider attempt to make those sorts of relationships when he interacts with other people. (I'd probably have to rewatch X-factor to comment on how he interacts with people with more power and status). It's worth noting that this is really compatible with working-class northern masculinity. It's not separate from the rest, but part of it.
The relationships we mostly see Louis have are fraternal relationships - he does mostly seem to interact with men. I've talked about this in terms of discrimination and I'll continue to do so. But I think it's also worth understanding as part of his engagement with masculinity. It is part of the wider cultural context - one of the things that I really noticed when I moved to the UK is that socialising was much more gender segregated than I was used to. But mostly interacting with men is a way of engaging with masculinity.
There's an interesting flipside of this, which is that Louis doesn't seem that interested in representing women or femininity in his music (particularly not in his solo career).
That last point is connected with his (lack of) engagement with heterosexuality. I've made it clear that I don't think that Louis is very good at performing heterosexuality. And I do think that feeds into all of this - it's part of why the siblings dynamic is so strong with fans and how these different elements fit together.
I'd be really interested in other people's thoughts about all this - because there is a lot of sort of odd handwringing about Louis and masculinity - and not a lot of discription of what's going on.

I got bored and ranked the fire emblem awakening characters based on how well I think they'd take care of a goldfish.
Tumblr media
reasoning for each character below the cut
Henry: he loves animals
Panne: she would not want a fish to be kept in a tank
Cordelia: she's a perfectionist
Tiki: I feel like with her being thousands of years old she's got hobbies. Maybe she spent like a couple decades really into goldfish. You don't know.
Cherche: given how well she cares for Minerva I also think she'd care that well for other animals, but obviously fish are not her main concern
Frederick: he just keeps things neat and orderly in general
Miriel and Laurent: I feel like they're well researched enough to care about a properly maintained fish tank
Nah: she takes super good care of a goldfish because she wants to appear more grown up, and therefore would want to be responsible even if it's just for a fish
Brady: his whole thing is that he looks pretty rugged but is actually kind of a soft guy (i think, it's been a while, if im wrong shhhh) but anyway I think that makes taking care of goldfish kind of like a suitable thing to go with that
Emmeryn: she's compassionate and caring, she wants to take good care of the goldfish, but also she's got a lot to be doing she doesn't have all the time in the world to be a goldfish mom
Libra: he also falls under "caring and so probably would want to do right by the fish but ultimately has other priorities"
Robin: sort of the same reasoning as Miriel and Laurent but a rung lower because I feel like they wouldn't be as perfectionist about it, like they don't know EVERYTHING but they know enough
Morgan: inherited the fish from Robin and therefore know how to take care of it.
Chrom: he's trying his best
Kjelle: she's also trying her best
Ricken: same reasoning as Nah but I don't think that fish is his number one priority so not as much energy put into it as her
Kellam: I feel like Kellam is the kind of guy who can do many many things to a competent degree and you just never notice until it comes up
Donnel: he's a farmboy he's probably decent with animals but maybe doesn't have the funds for anything above and beyond
Say'ri and Yen'fay: I don't remember much about them because they really don't have much supports and their story arc was rushed. But they seem fish capable.
Olivia: she is also trying her best
Stahl: regular guy. regular bowl
Gregor: I don't think he'd care about fish but he'd at least be positive towards them
Noire and Yarne: I don't think they can emotionally handle the responsibility of taking care of a fish /j
Flavia and Basilio: I don't think they'd care about fish either, but I think it would be funny if like, being the reigning Khan of Ferox also means you have to take care of some special goldfish. just in this alternate universe where everyone, singularly, owns a goldfish.
Gaius: he would win a fish at some kind of fair, and he would be upset he didn't get candy instead.
Lon'qu, Gerome, and Sully: I just don't think they'd care about fish. Gerome you could maybe make an argument for considering he cares about Minerva and I ranked Cherche high for that, but to me I don't think he cares about any animal other than Minerva.
Anna: she is selling goldfish in individual bowls
Lucina: this one is a joke based on her support line with whoever her mother is and how she canonically has bad fashion sense. so she'd decorate a fish tank with that bad fashion sense.
Inigo: he would somehow use fish to try to pick up ladies.
Severa: tries to make the fish tank incredibly aesthetically pleasing in order to one-up her mom but accidentally makes the fish tank unlivable by an actual fish.
Cynthia, Vaike, Lissa, Virion, Maribelle, Nowi, Owain, and Sumia: I know they all have different styles but like I feel like for all of them their placement in that tier is self explanatory.
Tharja: she is using that fish as an ingredient to a hex.
Priam: he eats it
Aversa: she gave the fish's soul up to grima
Gangrel: he'd kill the fish and blame it on Ylisse
Walhart: he thinks fish are beneath him
.
I am open to civilized debate on any of these rankings you think should be different
