I am thinking about. Jamie and the Second Doctor.
Because out of all the incarnations of the Doctor, Two is arguably the one who uses manipulation and disguises the most. He thrives on using people's intelligence against them, on tricking people, on bluffing and his bluffs working. He has a different disguise every story pretty much and is constantly playing some kind of role.
And then you look at Jamie, and some of Jamie's most front and center traits are his loyalty and his honesty (and protectiveness, but less applicable). Jamie is loyal to a fault and extremely trusting of the Doctor. He's honest and straightforward and deeply caring.
And Jamie is the one who sticks by the Second Doctor for as long as he physically can--and you'd look at those two characters, one who is manipulative and cunning, and one who is loyal to a fault, and you'd think the Doctor would easily be able to take advantage of Jamie, that Jamie would just be a tool for him but he's not, they're on equal footing. Jamie pulls the Doctor down and reminds him what being human is all about.

Dick or no dick confirmation Pickles was always going to be trans to me anyways; if he's swingin' somethin that's phallo babes, if he's not then his t-dick fat. What's not to get.
#metalocalypse#jay talkin#I'm sorry they wrote that awful gross little man far too likeable and relatable to on a trans level#for me not to hoot and holler and cheer for the trans pickles agenda#changes nothing about his character arc or any of the show anyone is capable of being the kind of person he is#don't make the mistake of thinking thats exclusive to cis men#his transness wouldnt change that#only adds on an extra layer to him that i think works fantastically.#Listen that dude was rejected by his family driven to drink and drugs young to escape that ran away to be in a band#is called fucking Pickles of all things and refuses to tell anyone his real last name;#over the span of four seasons and two movies he slowly starts to learn to be for others what he never had#he becomes more caring more supportive#it's not a stretch to say he undoes some of the toxic masculinity he's been keeping himself shielded behind#and learns how to be a kinder man.#all of which have no contradictions with him being trans!#In fact it doesn't take much extra thought to find ways a lot of this can line up with some trans masculine experiences#i mean. Did no one else have a younger phase where they swung as far as they could into crass rude and uncaring ways#to try and assert their masculinity only to grow and realise that you can be a man and be more caring.#Did no one else have father issues. 1 800 come on now i know those are both shared experiences a lot of us have had LOL.#at the end of the day this show aired nearly 20 years ago and is finished. we're not getting more of it#so nothing is altered nor changed if pickles is canonically trans or not ok. its fine#i mean hell i dont even need canon confirmation hes trans to me and thats all i care abt#but i think if yr getting suuuuuper weird abt needing him not to be canonically trans you have some issues#and bio essentialist ideals of gender if you think only a cis man can act like he does#again. anyone can be like that. its not exclusive. him being trans would not change him in any way shape or form lol#AND ALSO GODDDUUUGH for once i love getting to see a guy pushing 50 whos depicted as trans#do you have any idea how dire and barren it is out here. we never get to see a trans guy older than 30 and whos not a pristine model#I WANT MORE OLD SHLUBBY SHITHEAD TRANS GUYS IN MEDIA

Welcome Back ┃Sebastian Vettel
Pairing: sebastianvettel x wife!
summary: sebastian and his wife give a surprise visit to the drivers
Tumblr media
The sun was setting over the prestigious circuit, casting a warm golden glow over the bustling F1 paddock. The air was filled with the heady aroma of fuel and excitement, as fans and teams prepared for the next race. Unbeknownst to the drivers, a surprise awaited them in the form of a familiar face.
Sebastian Vettel, four-time Formula 1 world champion, was near the paddock entrance with his wife Y/N. After a brief hiatus, they returned to the racing world, not as competitors, but as spectators and supporters. As they walked through the meadow, whispers of excitement and surprise followed them.
Sebastian and Y/N decided to visit the drivers, many of whom had considered Vettel as a role model and mentor throughout their careers, and Y/N as a second mother, having always been there for them since their beginnings. Their first stop was the Scuderia Ferrari garage, where Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were engrossed in pre-race conversations with their engineers.
The moment they entered, the atmosphere changed. Leclerc and Sainz turned to see the iconic duo standing there with warm smiles. The garage buzzed with excitement as the younger drivers embraced Sebastian like a long-lost friend and Y/N, with her gentle lover, radiated warmth, making the meadow feel like a homecoming.
"It's amazing to have you both here," Charles exclaimed, his eyes shining with admiration. "We've missed having both around!"
Carlos nodded in agreement, "Yeah, it's like having our racing parents back. How's life outside the cockpit treating you?"
Sebastian chuckled, "It's different, but we're enjoying the change. And we couldn't resist coming back to witness the thrill of F1 and catch up with all of you."
The surprise visit continued as the couple toured the paddock. Each meeting was marked by genuine enthusiasm and candid conversations. Max Verstappen, who upon seeing them from afar, ran towards them and hugged them tightly, excited to tell them all of his achievements that he had managed to achieve thanks to their help and support. Lando Norris, who almost fainted from excitement when he saw them in front of him, grabbed them both by the arms and took them to the McLaren garage, eager to introduce them to his new partner, Oscar, and the other drivers enthusiastically shared stories of their trips in the mountains. races and asked the experienced couple for advice.
As Sebastian and Y/N approached Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes garage, the air was filled with anticipation. Hamilton, Y/N's old friend, rival and former teammate, greeted them both with a warm hug along with a big smile on his face.
"Seb, Y/N, it's been too long!" Hamilton exclaimed. "This paddock hasn't been the same without you. We need your wisdom and humor back in the game."
Sebastian grinned, "Well, we're here to bring some of that back, at least for today. But remember, you're doing just fine without us. Keep pushing, and the wins will come."
''It's good to see that I left the Mercedes seat in good hands, George has been fantastic in this new season!'' Y/N exclaimed with a touch of emotion and nostalgia when remembering the boy's first season.
The surprise visit of the Vettel's became the highlight of the racing weekend. The drivers, in the midst of their high-risk world, appreciated the moments with them and the peace of mind of knowing that even if they were no longer there every race weekend, they would always be with them. As the day of the race went on, the echoes of their visit persisted, inspiring the drivers to try harder, not only for victory, but also to make their grid parents proud, who watched them grow up, gave them advices, helped them get up when people started to turn their backs on them, who told them to never give up their dream, and who had given them a new meaning of ''family''.

one of the boys // charles leclerc
Tumblr media
summary: she's worked for ferrari for four years now. four years that only let her feelings for their number one driver grow stronger and stronger, until she wishes that charles leclerc would stop seeing her as just one of the boys, and start seeing her the way that she sees him
pairing: charles leclerc x mechanic! reader
warnings: ferrari fuckups, sexual tension, sad charles, actually charles goes through a whole range of emotions, matchmaker seb, mentions of workplace harassment, set in the 2022 season when charles won australia, sexual innuendos and references.
she sat on the halo, her feet resting against the seat as she leaned over the engine compartment, her boiler suit tied off around her waist and her hair pinned to the back of her head as the bahrain sun beat down.
ferrari had bottled it again. which meant double-duty for the pit crew to fix it for jeddah.
the radio hummed softly in the background as she cursed, losing her grip on the ratchet. when the engine fried itself, it had also made the parts a lot harder to take apart.
"fucking hell." she groaned, resting her head against the cool, red body of the car. "vasseur was supposed to fix this."
"what are you still doing here? you should have left at least an hour ago?"
the movement in the garage, as well as the voice breaking the almost-silence was enough to get her to look up, heart hammering against her ribcage.
the same annoyingly alert reaction that she'd had to his presence for the last two years.
"charles. what are you doing here?"
"hiding." the driver smiled sadly. the balaclava lines had faded fomr his face, but she could still see the sweat in his hair, the scent of the race mingling with his team-sponsored cologne. "you know how it is after a weekend like this."
"yeah, i do." she could feel the blush creeping onto her face, and she subtly pinched herself to try and make it go down. charles leclerc couldn't give her butterflies, it wasn't right. technically speaking, he was her superior.
but that didn't change how much she cared about him, how much she longed to feel the monegasque's lips against hers
"you should not be working. come out with the rest of us, we're getting drinks and commiserating. did i use that word right?"
it was hard for y/n not to smile at charles' attempt to learn the english language. he had a fantastic grip on the language, but when he tried to use larger words to sound cooler, it was usually followed up with uncertainty, all adding to what she liked to call his 'boston terrier energy'.
"yeah, you got that one right." she chuckled, dismounting the car, pain rocketing through the nerves in her feet as she hit the ground too hard. "that's a beauty of a car. such a shame that the scuderia doesn't know how to treat it properly."
standing next to charles, she was all too aware that she was wearing nothing but a sports bra on the top half of her body, and she wondered if she could pull her boiler suit back on without charles noticing.
charles snorted. "try driving that thing."
she patted him on the shoulder, a sad smile on her face. "give me ten minutes to go put some proper clothes on, and then we'll go out somewhere. drinks are on me, god knows you deserve it."
______
"seb, i don't know what to do!" y/n groaned, face against the tabeltop as the german man laughed.
sebastian vettel had been the closest thing she had to a father when she was on the road with the scuderia. in all fairness, the job with ferrari hadn't even been what she went to school for. she had picked engineering at college because it was what everybody else was doing, and she'd stumbled upon this job by accident with the promise of travel. when she was starting to regret everything, it had been sebastian who had convinced her to stay.
"ugh, this is so not funny!" she shouted, throwing her arms in the air and wincing as her knuckle banged against the shop window. they were in a quaint little café in fiji ahead of the australian grand prix, and y/n was in need of some serious advice.
but to get advice from seb, you needed to bribe him with coffee first. hence why they were in the rustic cafe, every bare surface covered in plants that sebastian had spent ages talking to the manager about.
sebastian vettel was a nerd. in a good way, of course.
"you're a lovely young woman, y/n. you have a nice figure."
"does hanna know you're out here complimenting younger women?" she joked, taking a sip from her strawberry lemonade.
sebastian laughed, shaking his head. "you need to let everybody else see that side of you, y/n. let your hair down, wear a nice pair of jeans for once instead of that boiler suit. let the world see the lovely girl that we all know is there."
"i'm going to miss you when you retire."
"i know, kiddo. listen, we're all going out after the race, to have drinks and whatever. go out with hanna, buy yourself a nice new dress on my credit card, and then come out for drinks with us. i guarantee that one look at you will whip charles into shape. you're a catch, y/n. i think that charles would be lucky to have someone like you in his life."
"i'm already a part of his life. as a work friend. and i'm accepted that i'm not likely to be anything more."
seb raised an eybrow. "doesn't sound like it."
in another bar, on another part of the small island of fiji, carlos and charles were having a very similar conversation.
"carlos, i can't make a move! technically, i'm higher ranking at ferrari than she is. there's a power imbalance, what if she feels like she can't say no? it's a harassment case waiting to happen!" charles whined, a pint glass clutched in his hands.
carlos shook his head, an annoyed sigh escaping the back of his throat. "you're an idiot, hermano. she's in love with you! you think you're the only person who sees her staring at you in the garage?
"forgive me if that's not something i want to be wrong about. i could be staking our careers on your little hunch."
groaning, carlos buried his head in his hands. getting through to his teammate was a hopeless and futile affair. once charles leclerc was set in his ways about something, there was no changing his mind.
"what about the party in australia? ask her to dance, buy her a drink? you're not getting any younger, charles. you need to get back out there and start dating again."
______
as f1 descended on albert park, the glitz and glamour taking over melbourne, y/n y/l/n and hanna vettel were standing in a small, glitzy boutique, armed with hanna's husband's credit card. the young ferrari mechanic was standing in front of a floor-length mirror, her hair falling around her shoulders.
"hanna, i don't know how i feel about this." she inhaled, staring at her reflection and the ferrari red dress that hugged her figure. "i love it, honestly, i do, i just cringe at the thought of ever wearing it outside of the house. especially if i;m in front of charles!"
hanns sighed, brushing her fingers through the younger girl's hair. "have a little bit of faith in yourself, darling. you look stunning, this dress shows off all your best physical attributes, and charles already knows your best qualities."
"yeah, because who else is going to sing nineties stoner rock songs in the car on the way to the track with me?" y/n laughed, remembering singing ‘teenage dirtbag’ with charles on their way to the track in jeddah, a carpool with some of the other mechanics. charles barely knew the words, but then again, y/n got them wrong a lot as well. “yeah, okay. lets do this fucking thing.”
hanna grinned. “that’s our girl!”
hours later, she was regretting her decision, standing in front of the club in her baggy leather jacket, shaky knees knocking together as she stood outside the front door in her heels and that tiny little dress, voices and laughter wafting through the walls as the inside hummed with the rarity of a ferrari victory. she nervously tapped her fingers against the side of her purse as a group of haas mechanics crossed the parking lot, wolf whistling at her before she flipped them both the bird.
“are you coming inside, or are you just going to stand there and freeze your balls off?”
“oh, if only I had balls to freeze. and this is bloody australia, its not even that cold.” y/n chuckled to herself, turning to look at jessica hawkins, one of the aston martin young drivers. “I need someone to remind me that I dont look stupid in this goddamn dress that hanna vettel picked out for me.”
jessica cocked an eyebrow, looking the mechanic up and down. “babes, you look hot! who are you trying to impress?”
“charles.” y/n mumbled, her face flushing pink before she cleared her throat. “its stupid, isn’t it?”
the other young woman shook her head. “not at all.” she grinned, linking her arm through y/n’s. “come on, lets go get you your man!”
the inside of the club was crowded, yet closed to the public as f1, f2, and the w series descended on the establishment. all of the f3 drivers were too young to legally drink, and had made their displeasure quite clear as they were herded away to an italian restaurant instead of the club.
"drinks for the lovely ladies?" abbie eaton chortled, bringing tequila shots over to where the mechanic and jessica were standing. "cheers on three, yeah?"
jessica sounded off with the countdown, the three women tapping the tiny glasses against each other before throwing back the burning alcoholic drink.
"if i'm going to do this," y/n began, raising her voice to be heard over the drake song that was playing. "i'm doing it right!" she took off her jacket, throwing it over a chair before she made her way over to the dj booth, her ballet flats sticking to the floor.
after a whispered conversation (and a monetary bribe), wheatus' 2000 hit 'teenage dirtbag' began to play over the speakers as y/n and jessica took to the floor, champagne flutes in hand as they began to dance.
from across the way, under the deep blue lights, charles leclerc was in a trance as he watched the way she moved, laughing and giggling as she sang along, finally getting each word right. adn charles would be lying if he said he didn't love the way her legs looked in that short little dress, how full her breasts looked in the red fabric that cradled them.
"is he still being a pussy?" pierre gasly groaned. "come on, man! you won the fucking race, and that's still not giving you the confidence you need to tell her you have a crush on her?"
"i'd rather not embarrass myself too much, thank you pierre." charles grumbled, taking another sip of his fruity mixed drink.
"he won't even drink proper alcohol." carlos commented. "i think she broke him."
pierre shook his head. "i will not stand for this, i am not letting it go on any longer. ilies!" he shouted, waving over his best friend- save for charles of course- and social media manager. "we need you to do something for us, for charles."
ilies nadri nodded. "it's about that girl he keeps talking about, isn't it?"
"exactly. so here's what you're going to do."
back on the dancefloor, y/n was beginning to forget that charles was watching, laughing and singing with jessica as the dj began to play 'toxic' by britney spears, at a drunken lando norris' request.
"looks like you've got an admirier. and it's not charles." nerea marti pointed out, nudging her head in the direction of ilies nadri, who was beginning to make his way over to the girls.
"well, if charles isn't interested." jessica shrugged, calpping her on the shoulders. "you look too pretty tonight to go home alone if you don't want to, and it looks like there's a good looking bloke who wants to join ya."
moments blurred as nadri took y/n's hand, pressing a kiss to her knuckles and making her laugh with a french come-on, and before she knew it they were dancing to britney.
and she had forgotten about him, about the reason she wore that red dress in the first place.
but charles never forgot about her, his eyes boring into the back of ilies' head as he watched them dancing to a christina aguilera song. his grip was steadily tightening on his glass, and carlos looked over at him with a concerned glance.
"are you sure that getting her to dance with ilies was the smartest idea?" carlos whispered under his breath, raising his eyebrow at pierre. "he's going to break the fucking glass."
"or, he'll get jealous and go over there." pierre reasoned.
"how the fuck do you have a girlfriend, gasly?"
but pierre's reasoning must have been rooted in proof, for charles put down his glass and tromped over to the dance floor, his eyes a certain shade of jealous as he prepared himself to finally make a move.
he didn't speak, sweeping over the dancefloor to grab y/n's arm and pull her away from ilies and away from the dancefloor and it's illuminated vinyl flooring.
"charles, what is wrong with you?" y/n shouted, tispy on her feet and buzzing from alcohol as she tried to ignore the way her chest tightened and her heart skipped a beat at charles' possessiveness.
"i'm in love with you." he blurted out, desperation in his voice. "and i'm tired of hiding how i feel. i don't care how it looks to the outside, or to mattia, but i want to be with you. you were never just one of the boys to me, y/n. you were just you. and i like who i am with you. i want to be able to be that person for you, all the time."
"charles." she said softly, heart softening before starting and stopping again in an erratic beating pattern that would have worried her if she could have heard the beating over the refrain of charles' confessions playing on loop in her mind, louder and louder each time. "just kiss me."
and that's what charles did, an *nsync song playing in the background as he mashed his lips to hers, backing her up against the wall as she giggled, wrapping a slender, bare leg around his own, arms looped haphazardly around his neck and over his shoulders.
"charles, your phone isn't in your front pocket, right?" she panted.
charles looked confused, resting his forehead against hers. "no, i always put it in my back pocket."
"fuck." y/n all but moaned, arousal pooling in her own thighs as she thought about what was in between charles'. "that means that it's your rock-hard cock that's pressing against me right now, and that's so fucking hot."
grinning to himself, charles pressed up against her even more. "whay don't you join me at my hotel, and i'll show you just how fucking hard you make me."
"is that a threat or an invitation?"
"it's whatever you want it to be, mon cher."
"kiss me one more time, and you've got a deal."

What are your thoughts on guardians vol.3? (If you have watched it) I went into it, expecting it went to the garbage like the rest of the mcu, but I was pleasantly surprised by its creativity, trope subversion, and how it wrapped up the previously unresolved arks of its characters.
That's what I've heard!
The thing is, Guardians 3 could be the most transcendent work of cinema ever made, and I'd probably still feel little to no motivation to watch it at this point. It's not Guardians's fault - it's just suffering from the same problem that superhero comics have been struggling with for decades: no matter how good an individual arc or run is, absolutely nothing good lasts or matters in the long term, and the stories are shaped in such a way that "the long term" is the only thing anyone gets to build towards.
Whenever I complain about the MCU I get a handful of people loudly complaining about my complaining, with the general thesis that if I don't like it I shouldn't watch it or talk about it - if I'm not having fun, just stop engaging with it. And the thing is, I have. I am intellectually interested in why this massive franchise is fumbling the bag so hard, which is why I still check in on it sometimes, but I've long since stopped turning to the MCU for uncritical entertainment. And even the good movies or shows with a lot of interesting ideas - good character arcs, fun concepts, interesting planting for future payoff - don't draw me in anymore, because they're hooked into a massive moneymaking machine that will scrap and squander anything if they think it'll make them more in the quarter. It doesn't matter how good the writing is, because the writers are not allowed to tell a complete, finished story, and they have no control over what happens to their characters outside of their own script.
Captain America's arc was set up from literally minute one to answer one burning question at the core of his character: does a world without a war still need Captain America? After that incredibly basic tee-up at the end of First Avenger, half a dozen movies failed to come up with a reason to say "yes," and now Steve is retired for good after getting fumbled through four different storylines that couldn't even pretend that they needed him (the unused Chekhov's Phone from the end of Civil War still haunts me). The foundational arc of his entire character never happened because nobody bothered to keep track of it past a single movie.
Taika did something interesting with Thor in Ragnarok - take away Mjolnir, force him to recognize what it means to be the god of thunder, give him a very Odin-y missing eye - and the very next movie undid all of it. Just kidding, never mind, here's an eye and a new weapon and also his old weapon again, and in one more movie we're even gonna give him his hair back, probably as an apology for all the completely unironic fatphobia we're gonna slather him in for two and a half hours. I'm not even surprised Love And Thunder was such an overblown mess that barely took itself seriously - why would Taika bother trying to give Thor another arc when the powers that be will just roll it back in six months anyway?
I hear Rocket Raccoon has a fantastic arc in this movie. That's great, and demonstrates that he's being written by a writer that deeply cares about him. But he's part of the MCU, and the MCU doesn't let anything end, so if current patterns hold, Rocket is going to continue to serve as quippy plushie-bait for the next dozen movies and none of that depth is going to come through in the long term. Hell, since they're making Kang noises for the Next Big Threat and Kang's entire gimmick is rewriting timelines, literally none of this is guaranteed to matter. By next year, it might not have even happened anymore.
The MCU has successfully shaped itself into a paradigm where the bright spots of good writing are overridden and lost as soon as the writers room turns over, and that makes it really hard for me to muster up the enthusiasm to watch even a really good movie that's locked into the exact same grist mill as everything else. I'm glad people liked it, I hope it gets to stay good this time - I just have no desire to watch it.

A Rose By Any Other Name || Part Two
Tumblr media
part one part three
series pairing: tommy shelby x reader, hints of john shelby x reader, hints of tommy x lizzie
summary: After your interaction with Tommy, there is a rift between you and Lizzie but an apology and the Epsom Derby threaten to strain your friendship further.
warnings: 18+ minors dni, mentions of prostitution, mentions of sex, alcohol consumption, typical peaky blinders content, (slow burn sorry)
author’s note: Thank you to everyone who read part one and interacted! There's no smut just yet but be patient it's coming (and so are Tommy and reader ;) !!!) Also I picture Thelma to look like Queenie from Fantastic Beasts but interpret her however you please <3 Enjoy!
After the ordeal with the Shelby brothers, The Garrison felt off-limits. Lizzie wasn't exactly pleased when she found out, and so you and Thelma decided to spend the night at The Marquis of Lorne.
The Marquis was packed, wall to wall with rowdy men and women from the BSA. You weren't planning on working tonight but, if the right man came along, you were in no position to turn him down.
The only upside of the job is that you didn't work in a whorehouse. People, however cruel, were even crueller to whorehouse whores. There was a strange level of acceptance, as if the men soliciting you could forget you were a working girl because they met you in places they meet regular women.
"Apparently there's a secretary job going," Thelma looked around the room at the smartly dressed women, "At the BSA."
"Have you applied?" You asked, sipping your gin. Employment was a sore subject between the two of you. Nobody whores unless they're desperate.
Thelma shakes her head and fiddles with the placemat under her glass. She draws her bottom lip between her teeth, her eyes fixed on the table.
"I wouldn't get it anyway."
"Why not? You can type, you can count, you're friendly-"
"I'm a whore," Thelma interrupted, amusement and hurt swimming in her eyes, "These women in here would be my colleagues. They don't think I'm worth the sheets I was born on... Sorry, we're supposed to be having fun."
Thelma blinked quickly and sat up straight, grinning, "Fuck it. Fuck them all."
She raised her glass and you met her toast.
"Fuck them all," You laughed, taking a large swig of your drink. The clear liquid burning your throat as you swallowed and exhaled.
Offering to get the next round of drinks, your attention was pulled by a heated argument by the bar. Two men in suits were subjected to verbal abuse from a drunken BSA worker.
One of them was a Blinder. You recognised him from The Garrison.
In a split second, fists were flying and knuckles were bloody. The Blinder and his friend were outnumbered but they held their own. Fruitlessly, the owner yelled from behind the bar for them to stop.
A table was knocked on its side as two men wrestled onto it and landed on the floor. Glass shattered somewhere in the room and the patrons of the bar tried to run.
Grabbing Thelma's hand, you yanked her to the exit. The crisp cold air of Small Heath seeped through your coat as you hurried towards Garrison Lane.
"Y/N?" Thelma asked once she realised the direction you were headed in.
"The Peaky Blinders need to know that two of their men are outnumbered," You replied, compelled by the power of the gangsters for the first time. They would fix this.
"What about Lizzie?" Thelma was now walking alongside you, matching you step for hurried step as you turned the corner.
The amber lights of The Garrison illuminated the pub and you rushed towards it like a moth to a flame.
Yanking the wooden door open, you pushed your way through the crowd, looking back to check Thelma was still with you. The door of the snug was open and three of the four Shelby brothers sat playing cards. Lizzie was tucked into the corner, chatting to Esme.
You lingered there for a moment before knocking lightly. All eyes turned to you, and Thelma gave a little wave. Lizzie's eyebrows shot up but she quickly neutralised her expression.
"Hello lovely," Arthur's voice boomed as he leaned back in his chair, "What do we owe the pleasure?"
"There's a fight at The Marquis. A Blinder and a boy. They didn't start it," You answered, the night's drinking deterring any nerves.
"But we'll finish it," John tossed his cards onto the table.
The three brothers got to their feet but Finn was shoved back into his seat.
"Nobody breathes a bloody word of this to Polly," Arthur threatened, his booming voice bouncing off the walls, "We will tell Tommy when he's back, alright?"
No Tommy? You assumed Lizzie turned down your offer tonight to spend her time with him. You were more confused than hurt, but the Blinder family was a family you had no desire to understand.
"When- When will Thomas be back?" You held your head high despite a wave of embarrassment rushing over you, "I owe him an apology."
"Don't know. Rich women are mad for working class cock these days," Arthur chuckles deeply, gulping down the contents of his glass and slamming it down, "I reckon he'll be back tomorrow."
Out of the corner of your eye, Lizzie shifts in her seat and straightens the skirt of her dress.
"I shall see you tomorrow then," You confirmed before the two men from The Marquis stepped into the snug, with scuffed knuckles and bloody collars. They smirk and grin at each other.
"We'll leave you," You nodded and disappeared out of the snug, back onto Garrison Lane.
Thelma giggled, "They certainly are intimidating."
You laughed a sigh of relief, surviving another interaction with the Shelby brothers. The door of The Garrison swiftly swung open and shut, as Lizzie joined you, pulling her coat on.
"Yeah yeah I'm a fool," Lizzie scoffed, sadness in her eyes.
"Who's the rich woman?" Thelma asked, hooking her arm around Lizzie's. Your eyes widened.
Lizzie lit a cigarette, "May Carleton. A toff who trains his horse. Rides his cock too. You don't have to apologise. I'm well shot of him."
Despite her foolishness when it comes to Thomas Shelby, you appreciated her forgiveness but there wasn't a world where you weren't going to apologise.
Three of the Shelby brothers witnessed your declaration and frankly you were afraid of the consequences of not following through.
The following afternoon you found yourself walking towards Shelby Company Ltd. There was a Blinder stood by the door, smoking a cigarette.
"Hello. I'm here to see Mr Shelby. Is he here?" You asked the gruff-looking man, who looked you up and down. Making his decision, he pushed the door open, eyes not leaving your body.
Being a whore really does get you in anywhere.
Inside was a foyer with gorgeous paintings decorating the walls and another set of double doors with Shelby Company Ltd embossed on the frosted glass.
With no sense of direction, you pushed through the double doors to find a few steps leading you down to two desks, facing one another.
"Y/N?" Lizzie's brow furrowed as she rose from her desk to greet you at the bottom of the steps, "What you doing here?"
"I promised Arthur and John I'd apologise. Is he here?" You winced.
"They won't cut you," Lizzie smiled, laughing softly, "He just got back. Oh, this is Michael, he's Polly's son."
Lizzie motioned to the desk opposite hers. The boy from The Marquis sat behind the large desk in a clean, pressed suit.
"Hello Michael, I'm Y/N," You reached for his outstretched palm and shook his hand.
"I remember," Michael smiled, youthful mischief danced in his eyes, "Thanks for the help last night."
"You looked like you needed the help," You joked, pulling a laugh from him.
"Alright, Tommy isn't paying you to flirt with my friend," Lizzie teased, guiding you to the doors of Thomas' office and knocking. After a moment, she pushed the door open and you followed her in.
"Y/N to see you," Lizzie announced, leaving you alone with him before he could respond. Thomas sat behind his desk, staring at the phone with a cigarette hanging from his lips.
The door closing jolted him from his reverie and he moved an opened envelope into the top drawer of his desk. Thomas cleared his throat and looked to you, taking a drag from his cigarette.
"Take a seat, Miss Y/L/N," His gravelly voice rumbled from deep in his chest, motioning to a chair opposite with his hand.
Sitting in the plush leather chair opposite him, you crossed your legs and braced yourself under his burning gaze.
"Drink?" He nodded to the glass decanter of whiskey on his desk, an already half-full glass sat beside it. Thomas rose to his feet and rounded the desk, retrieving another glass from a cabinet by the window.
Finding your words, you nodded, "Yes. Thank you Mr Shelby." Maybe a drink in your system would loosen you up.
A soft scoff fell from the man's lips as he poured whiskey into your glass, pushing it across his desk towards you and collapsing into his chair.
"None of that, alright?" He stubbed out his cigarette in a glass ashtray, the smoke floating in the air in one wispy streak.
You sipped your whiskey and swallowed hard, "Of course Mr- Thomas. I stopped by to apologise... about the other night. You went out of your way to help me and it was wrong of me to- to slam the door in your face. So I'm sorry Mr- Thomas."
Thomas' blue eyes scrutinised you as silence hung in the air between you. Fiddling with the glass in your hand, you cleared your throat and ruminated over your apologetic words.
Worry washed over you as you entertained the possibility that he didn't accept your apology.
"Would- Would you accept a drink on me by way of apology?"
Thomas' head tilted to one side at that. A small smile toyed at the corner of his lips. You shifted in your seat under his gaze.
"That won't be necessary," He shook his head once and the metallic click of his cigarette case opening sounded in the space between you. He ran a fresh cigarette along his plump lips, deep in thought for a moment.
"Have you ever been to the races, Y/N?"
Your brows shot up and your breath caught in your throat. Was he asking what you thought he was?
You shook your head and Thomas nodded, "I'll pick you up Saturday 9 o'clock."
Was this his was of accepting your apology? A favour for a favour? You weren't going to get on his bad side a second time and so, with confusion and apprehension, you agreed.
"I don't have anything nice to wear," You shyly admitted, a weak attempt to save yourself from further involvement with the Shelbys.
Admittedly, you were intrigued by the man before you. It brought a sense of shame but there was something captivating about the Peaky Blinders, especially Thomas Shelby.
Thomas reached into his pocket and thumbed through a sizeable roll of notes. He set two notes onto the table and tapped his index finger against the paper. Okay so you were definitely going to the Epsom Derby.
"9:00 Saturday, alright?"
"Yes Mr Sh- Thomas."
"Since we're going to Epsom together, you can call me Tommy, eh?" A small smirk tugged at the corner of his pink lips as he leaned back in his chair.
"Of course. I'll see you on Saturday Tommy," You smiled politely and made your leave. Anxiety rose within you as you passed Lizzie's empty desk, anticipating her reaction to your alarming news.
Wondering how you were going to tell her the man she loves is taking you to the races, you hurried out of the building and headed home.
You've only encountered Thomas Shelby on two separate occasions and it was clear that he was going to be the death of you.

The sun shone brightly as Y/N and Max Verstappen, her husband and the reigning Formula 1 World Champion, laid asleep next to her. Their twin boys, Liam and Luca, were eight years old who had inherited their father's passion for racing and had been karting since they were four; and their baby girl, Elisse, was five. With a heart full of love and a life full of adventure, they were a family bound by their passion for racing. In the Verstappen household, mornings were filled with laughter and excitement.
"Boys, breakfast is ready!" YN called out, her voice carrying through the spacious house.
The children raced down the stairs, their little feet barely touching the ground. YN watched with a smile as Liam and Luca donned their miniature racing suits, their tiny helmets resting proudly on their heads.
"Morning, my racing stars," Max said, his eyes twinkling with pride. He placed Elisse in her high chair and ruffled Liam's and Luca's hair.
"Daddy, we can't wait for today!" Liam exclaimed, his face beaming with anticipation.
Luca nodded vigorously. "Yeah, and we'll be even faster than you, Dad!"
YN chuckled, setting a plate of scrambled eggs in front of Liam. "Well, boys, you've certainly got the talent. Just don't forget to eat your breakfast first. Champions need fuel, you know."
The twins exchanged excited glances before digging into their breakfast, fueling their bodies for the exhilarating karting competition ahead. As they ate, their lively chatter filled the room, recounting stories of their karting adventures and cheering for their favorite drivers. Max looked on, marveling at the indomitable spirit his children had inherited.
"Daddy, look at my helmet! Just like yours!" Liam exclaimed, his eyes shining with admiration for his father.
Max beamed at his son, ruffling his hair affectionately. "You're a true champion, just like your dad!"
Luca, not one to be left out, tugged on Max's sleeve. "Papa, do you think I can be as fast as you one day?"
Max's grin widened as he lifted Luca into his arms. "Absolutely, buddy. You have racing in your blood!"
YN wrapped her arms around the trio, feeling blessed beyond measure. "Alright, boys, it's time to get ready for school. Elisse, sweetheart, do you want to help Daddy prepare your breakfast?"
The little girl's eyes sparkled with delight, knowing that her time with her father was precious. "Yes, Mommy! I'll help Daddy!"
As they all gathered in the kitchen, the smell of pancakes wafted through the air. Max held Elisse in his arms, guiding her delicate hands as she poured the batter onto the sizzling pan.
"Daddy, can we go to the track today?" Liam asked, his voice brimming with anticipation.
Max nodded, flipping a pancake skillfully. "Of course! We're going to meet up with Uncle Daniel, Uncle Charles, Uncle George, Uncle Alex, and Uncle Pierre at the track. It's going to be a fantastic day!"
After a hearty breakfast, the Verstappen family hopped into their car, the twins eagerly buckling up in the backseat. The drive to the racetrack was filled with chatter and laughter, their voices blending harmoniously.
Arriving at the track, they were welcomed by a sea of F1 fans, all eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of their favorite drivers. The children, wide-eyed with excitement, clung to their parents' hands tightly.
As they made their way through the paddock, YN smiled and waved at familiar faces. Kika, Pierre Gasly's girlfriend, approached them with open arms.
"YN, Max! The gang's all here!" Kika exclaimed, her joyful tone infectious. "Lily and Carmen are waiting for you near the pits."
The Verstappen children, having formed a close bond with the other F1 drivers' families, ran towards their friends. Lily, Alex Albon's girlfriend, scooped up Luca in her arms, spinning him around playfully.
"Uncle Alex says I'm his lucky charm!" Luca giggled, his laughter filling the air.
"Uncle Charles said he wants to race with us too!" Luca exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
Y/N's eyes twinkled with amusement as she played along, "Oh, really? Well, you better watch out. Uncle Charles might be fast, but you two are the fastest kids on the karting track!"
Carmen, George Russell's girlfriend, smiled warmly at the sight of the children. Elisse toddled over to her, her tiny hands reaching out for a hug.
"Look at my little princess!" Carmen cooed, planting a gentle kiss on Elisse's cheek. "George is waiting for all of you by the garage. He's ready to show off his driving skills!"
The children beamed, feeling a sense of belonging in their racing family. They clung to their "uncles" and "aunties," forming a bond as strong as any blood relation.
The girls were talking and catching up while watching from the stands how Max, Charles, Alex, George and the Verstappen twins raced each other.
Kika chimed in "Liam and Luca are incredible. They're going to be the next big thing in motorsport!"
"They have the talent, that's for sure. But it's their passion that makes me the proudest"
Max and Y/N's baby girl, Elisse, sat in her mother's lap, her eyes wide with wonder. The five-year-old was the apple of her father's eye, and the ultimate daddy's girl. Max showered her with affection, and she basked in his adoration.
"Mommy, can I have chocolate croissants?" Elisse, the five-year-old little girl , asked her mum, her doe-like eyes sparkling with innocence.
Y/N scooped Elisse into her arms, pressing a loving kiss to her rosy cheek. "Of course, my sweet girl. Just for you."
The conversation continued as they settled into their seats. Lily, Alex Albon's girlfriend, and Carmen, George Russell's girlfriend, joined them. The four women chatted animatedly, their bond strengthened by their shared experiences and love for the sport.
"¡Hoy fue increíble!" Carmen exclaimed in Spanish, her eyes sparkling.
Y/N laughed, replying in Spanish as well. "Sí, nuestras futuras estrellas están arrasando. Los quiero tanto."
Liam emerged victorious, a wide grin spreading across his face. Luca, not far behind, joined his brother in celebrating their accomplishments. The twins had made their mark, leaving an indelible impression on the track.
Y/N, overcome with joy, rushed toward the boys, sweeping them into a tight embrace. "You did it! I'm so proud of you both!"
Max joined the embrace, his pride shining through. "My little champions! You're incredible!"
"Daddy, Liam and Luca are so fast!" Elisse exclaimed, her voice filled with admiration.
Max chuckled, planting a kiss on her forehead. "Yes, they are, sweetheart. Just like you, they make Daddy very proud."
Max scooped Elisse up into his arms and peppered her with kisses. "How's my princess doing?"
"Great race, boys!" Max exclaimed, hugging them into his arms and planting kisses on their cheeks while having Elisse in his arms. "You were amazing, my little champions!"
"Daddy, I'm faster than you!" Liam declared, his eyes shining with triumph.
Max feigned a look of surprise, his voice filled with mock disbelief. "Oh, is that so? Well, I guess I'll have to step up my game then!"
Liam and Luca couldn't wait to show Elisse their karts and introduce her to their world of racing.
"Elisse, look!" Luca exclaimed, his eyes shining with excitement. "This is my kart! It's super fast!"
Elisse clapped her hands in delight, her gaze moving to Liam's kart. "And this one is Liam's kart! It's just as cool!"
Liam puffed out his chest, grinning. "That's right! We're going to teach you everything we know, Elisse!"
Elisse's face lit up, a smile that mirrored her father's adorning her lips
After an exhilarating day at the track, the Verstappen family returned home, their hearts filled with joy and memories. YN tucked the children into their beds, their eyelids growing heavy with sleep. "Daddy, do you love me more than racing?" Elisse asked, her voice filled with innocence.
Max's eyes softened, and he kissed Elisse's forehead. "Darling, you're my princess. There's nothing in the world that I love more than you"
Elisse giggled, hugging her father tightly. "I love you, Daddy"
Max grinned. "I love you too, my little angel"
Elisse giggled again, her little hands reaching out to touch Max's face. She was a daddy's girl through and through, and Max loved every moment of it.
"Daddy, will you tell us a bedtime story?" Elisse asked, her voice soft and sweet.
Max settled beside his daughter, his eyes twinkling. "Once upon a time, there was a young racer named Max, who had a family of champions…"
As Max wove a tale of dreams and triumphs, the children drifted into peaceful slumber, their hearts filled with the love of their racing hero. In the Verstappen household, every day was an adventure, every moment a cherished memory, and their love for one another shone brighter than any trophy ever could.

Okay, so, working on a fic here, but does anyone remember when JoJo posted Shady Escape Part 4? The arc where the shadow first smushed Wind and opened a portal in front of them?
Well JoJo posted this with the comic
Tumblr media
This would mean that prior to this point the Links have been in the same world the whole time (and the portals are apparently not portals, but "gates"!) and since Shady Escape, they've only traveled to one other era, the one we're still in in the Dawn arc.
Jojo originally never meant this story to be an actual story, just quick AU comics and sketches
Tumblr media
So I understand that things are still a bit unclear as she shifts from having random ideas to having to create a cohesive plot, and honestly she's been doing a fantastic job of setting the stage for us and slowly introducing concepts, characters and other important pieces of the story, but it does leave us with one major question: do the original doodles count as cannon?
The Malon Arc, the Chain meeting Ravio, these things would have required the boys to shift worlds previously, or be in either Time or Legend's eras in order for them to have happened. They haven't been to both though. Thus far, they've been to two different eras, the second being one where none of them knew where they are, and it's only the conversation between Twilight and Four in Divine Dark Reflections that tells us they are even aware of the fact that they're traveling through time!
So, this would mean that anything that has to do with them being in any hero specific era until now has not yet happened! Other than perhaps Time's era, which is only supported by this panel from Deep Shadows part 2
Tumblr media
Time knows the woods they're in, so his recognition would indicate that this is most likely his era. So, maybe they've met Malon at this point in the story, but that means anything else (Linkle, Ravio, anything fro the others' eras) hasn't yet happened, and considering the fact that the Malon arc isn't included with the rest of the official story, but instead with the early doodles, we can't even be certain that it has happened yet.
All this to say, fic writers technically have free reign with what they want to boys to know about the other eras, and who they want the to know about (other than the Ordonian people, who Twilight apparently can't shut up about lol). That, and, we have no clue whether JoJo is going to rehash old comics or cut them entirely from the story cannon.

You are at the doctor's office for your umpteenth appointment to discover what's happening with your body. Or Chris'. Either way, something's going on, and you are desperate to find out what because the two of you haven't been able to get pregnant yet.
It has been nearly four years since you and Chris got married, and your wish to start a family of your own has only grown stronger this entire time.
''Are you okay, Pumpkin?'' Chris asks, and that's when you're pulled from your thoughts; you zoned out after the doctor said 'infertile' because you couldn't bring yourself to anything else he said.
''I- I'm not, sorry. I have to go,'' you say as tears well up in your eyes, and you run out of the room and quickly outside, needing fresh air in your lungs. Your mind is going into overdrive, and it's all too much, so you collapse as soon as you set foot outside.
Those past few years are catching up with you, and Chris is right behind you but not fast enough, so you fall on the ground and hit your head hard.
''Fuck!'' he curses loudly as he sees you fall to the ground, and within no time, he's by your side.
''Pumpkin? Please say something,'' he says, trying to see if you're conscious, but you made a pretty nasty fall, and a few nurses are coming to your rescue, and a doctor from the ER of the hospital.
''What happened?'' the doctor asks, and Chris is panicking because you're not responding, and he can't do anything, making him feel useless right now.
''Sir? Can you tell me what happened?'' the doctor tried again, and he snapped out of it.
''We had an appointment, and she got the news that she's infertile, so she ran outside, and the last thing I know is that she collapsed and hit her head… Please tell me you're doing everything possible to save her; I can't lose her!'' Chris says, panic taking over again at the thought of what you're going through.
''Alright, we'll take her inside and care for her. You can wait in the waiting area of the ER while we're checking her out, and as soon as you can see her, a nurse will get you,'' the man said again, and Chris agreed.
Tumblr media
While seated in the waiting room, he fixed his gaze on the door you had been wheeled through. The second those doors opened, and you were back, he was by your side again.
You're awake but still loopy from the fall, but he didn't mind. All Chris needed to know is if you're okay.
''Hi, Pumpkin,'' he says as he's sitting by your bed again, and the doctor left the two of you alone for now.
''I like you. Do you have a girlfriend?'' you ask him, with a goofy smile as if he is the most beautiful thing on this earth, and honestly, he is to you.
''I have a wife, actually,'' he says. ''She's the most thoughtful, amazing, caring, sweet, and loving person I know. And she makes the best cookies I've ever tasted.''
''Oh, I like chocolate chip cookies! And I like you. Maybe you need to leave her and come home with me; I make better cookies,'' you say, and Chris can't help but laugh at your comments, knowing you won't remember any of this later on.
''Hm, I don't know. My wife is perfect already, so I don't think I can leave her. But I can settle for a kiss if you'll have me,'' he offers, and your eyes widen.
''Don't tell her, okay? It's our little secret,'' you say, and Chris smiles at your loopiness right now.
''It's our secret, I promise,'' he says, placing two fingers under your chin to lift it a little while he leans down to you. When your lips touch, your heartbeat rises quickly, and the monitor goes wild, making you laugh at the kiss.
''See? I told you I like you,'' you say when he breaks the kiss.
''It's a good thing that I like you too, but this will always be our secret, okay?'' he asks, and you agree softly. You're getting sleepy, and Chris lets you rest for a while, ensuring you strengthen enough to go home in a few days.
Tumblr media
When it's finally time to go home, Chris is there to pick you up after leaving for a few hours to get the house for you to come home. He also made you a little care package to welcome you home.
He got a basket to use for your blankets once it's empty, a new thick blanket to add to your growing collection, flannel pajamas with flamingos on them, two pairs of fuzzy socks, your favorite tea, three books from your Amazon wishlist, a new Starbucks tumbler, and a gift card to go along with it for when you're all better.
''Hey there, Pumpkin!'' he says when he's coming to pick you up, and you cheer up when you hear Chris' voice, and the nurse immediately notices the change in demeanor.
''So, you're the husband I've been hearing about all this time?'' she says with a knowing smile, and he nods.
''The one and only!'' he says as he walks into the room, giving you a soft kiss on your head.
''I got you a care package when you're home, so you can just relax and enjoy that for the time being,'' he says, and your interest is immediately piqued.
''Did I get new pajamas?'' you ask, and when he nods, you get a smile from ear to ear.
''He always gets me pajamas when I've been in the hospital for a few days,'' you tell the nurse, who can't do anything other than laugh at your comment.
''Well, you shouldn't end up here too often in that case; otherwise, he runs out of pajamas to buy for you!'' she jokes, and when she finishes checking you over, you're released and ready to go home.
''Alright, let's get you out of here so you can relax for a while,'' Chris says, and he helps you up and out of the hospital.
''Thank you for being by my side through all of this. I'm so sorry this happened,'' you sigh when you sit in the car, and Chris takes your hand in his, squeezing it reassuringly.
''None of this is your fault, Pumpkin. Please, don't ever say that again because there is nothing to apologize for. I love you so much; I can't even explain how much. With you by my side, I'm the happiest I've ever been, and we can figure out the next steps when we're ready. Right now, it's you, me, and Dodger, which is more than I ever thought I would ever have. Never forget that,'' he says, and the tears are welling up in your eyes again.
''I love you too, Chris. More than you'll ever know,'' you say, lifting his hand to your lips and kissing his knuckles before looking out the window and just thinking about nothing for a while.

The Queen Of Busan.
Part one: the meeting.
Part two: defeated.
16 year old Gun and Goo getting they asses whooped.
It must be done by someone. Sorry, not sorry.
Tumblr media
That meeting happened one week ago.
Since then, they did some digging, although not finding out much. Her last name is unknown, so is where she is from originally and so her fighting prowess, which wasn't just a pain in the ass, but also unfortunate, adding to the mystery of the girl.
All they found out, is that she’s is 19 years old, same age as Sinu Han, meaning she is a part of the first generation.
Now they both sit in front of Charles Choi, in the rundown shack that he has been hiding at for a good while now. Gun is sitting in a pretzel, back straightened with his usual seriousness, and Goo is slightly slouched over in a more relaxed manner.
"So the strongest person in Busan is a woman... and she refused to join the Four Major Crews?"
Charles asks as his eyes dart between both younger man.
Gun sighs, finally speaking up as he rubs his temples, the memory of the meeting still giving him a headache.
"Not only that: she outright refused to help us in any way, shape, or form. I guess we're gonna have to try and find another business to extort."
Goo nods his head, remembering how his shot was shut down so fast.
Yes, that was his biggest concern.
His eyes dart between Charles and his partner as they speak. There is a tinge of disappointment stirring up in his chest, she could've been a fantastic asset to the crew with her smarts and charm.
And money, of course.
"Might I add, she seems to have taken some of Big Deal's territory under her control as well in the meantime. She seems surprisingly influential in the country as a whole, like scattered bubbles rising on surface, popping up everywhere. I wouldn't be surprised if she started taking over more businesses in the meanwhile."
Gun continues his train of thought.
"Jake Kim, and her have made an alliance and she's helping Big Deal and its street... so in a sense she is working for us... Not directly, but she is of help... she seems to have a soft spot for Big Deal, you can't deny her abilities and influence."
Goo thinks over Gun's words as he speaks, unable to argue with his logic in that regard. He sighs as he places a hand on his hip, his other hand pushing his glasses up slightly.
Maybe the reason why she gets along so well with Jake and the Big Deal members...well, with most; because eventually her goals and their goals are the same.
Protect.
Big Deal is the epitome of being a family, filled with passion. No wonder how well she gets along with them, and took it upon herself out of the goodness of her own heart to help them run their businesses on Big Deal's street.
"If her soft spot gives us a loophole from which we can exploit, I don't have a problem with her having a soft spot for Big Deal. That just makes it easier for us to take advantage of.”
Gun concludes, shrugging his shoulders slightly as he speaks, looking over at Charles expectantly.
Still, Charles lets out a small grunt.
"Even if she's in an alliance with Big Deal, and as much as their sales went up, one single business of hers in Busan makes 3 times more than Big Deal alone. We need her businesses."
When Charles says his thoughts out loud, Gun can't help but have his eye twitch slightly, his eyebrow raising at his words. Both knowing exactly what Charles is saying but still having the same thoughts they've had before: this Nova woman is not making their job easy by any means.
"As beneficial as having her businesses for you would be, you've heard how quickly she shut us down. The woman said herself that she wanted to remain uninvolved in anything relating to either or any of us. It would take a miracle if she is somehow convinced to cooperate with us in any way."
Goo lets out an agreeing groan, nodding in agreement with his partner.
"Before I make a decision, tell me more about this woman."
Charles utters as he looks off, pondering, ready to hear what they know so far of Nova.
Both of them sigh and cross their arms, their faces giving off an air of disappointment and irritation.
"All we were able to get from what research we did and since the brief meeting we had with her was her age: 19, her place of birth: unknown, and so is her last name."
Gun lists off as he closes his eyes momentarily, his voice carrying an irritated tone to it as he speaks.
“She's literally running dozens of businesses with a perfect 0% corruption rate. She's also incredibly smart and charismatic, her charisma and kindness alone is already enough to make anyone obey her immediately."
Goo continues with a tone more carefree, perhaps a little more boastful than intended.
"Zero corruption, no shady business practices... a kind person in a world of grime..."
Charles repeats his words, trailing off as he visibly ponders, rubbing his bearded chin.
"A gentle heart like hers won't survive for too long in this world. We should teach her that lesson sooner rather than later."
Gun can't help the small, sadistic chuckle he lets out at Charles' words, his mood instantly shifting into amusement as soon as he hears the other man's plans. He always admired when Charles had his ruthless tendencies come out, it always was interesting to see.
"Especially since she's the Queen of Busan. Who would've thought someone her age would be able to take over such a large city on their own? It's both hilarious and admirable at the same time really."
Goo immediately frowns again as he hears Charles and Gun say such things, he's not afraid to admit it but he genuinely feels protective of this woman now.
"I don't know how you plan to teach a woman like that a lesson in this world, she's like an absolute angel of light. You can see in her eyes just how kind she truly is, we should really be careful before she shows us how dark she can be behind that bright exterior.”
To his words, Charles sends Goo an empty stare, and Gun nudges him softly with his shoulder.
"Joongoo, you should drop your personal feelings towards the girl. This is only business."
They were both all about business and raking in the money, empathy had no place in their plans. In the world of HNH group, there is no such thing as kindness, there isn't any place for a soft soul here. Even though from a moral standpoint Gun also happened to take a liking to the girl, his loyalty towards Charles Choi was still far greater.
But Goo will make sure to keep her in his thoughts regarding his own future.
Charles' words and the way both he and Gun look at him make him let out a defeated sigh, a hand rubbing his hair in frustration.
"Fine... you guys win, I'll try to keep my thoughts on her to a minimum. Doesn't change the fact that she's absolutely perfect though, the way she could've easily won that fight in the restaurant, the way she stood up to both of us... I guess it's hard for me to not be slightly entranced by her."
Goo admits with a slight shrug.
This was expected from him, all Gun can do is mentally roll his eyes.
"Enlighten me on her fighting prowess then.”
As that question slips from the man's mouth, both of the boys glance at each other.
Even as Gun remembers back at how taken aback he felt when she managed to throw a fork perfectly aimed at his eye and how it pierced his sunglasses, he cannot help but shiver at the sheer agility she displayed out of nowhere in that moment. But other than her terrifying aura in that moment and her precision, and speed, not much else is known. It's really a mystery how this 19 year old woman became who she is.
Goo’s eyes light up the very second Charles asks what her fighting prowess is, smile widening with excitement as he really has been itching to start talking about just how insanely talented Nova really is. He starts off almost before Charles had even finished in asking his question.
"Her precision, agility, and speed are on a whole other level. A normal human shouldn't even be able to accomplish a fraction of what she's capable of. It’s safe to say to admit that she might be on the same level as Gun and I."
Goo was nothing further than ecstatic, having a free opportunity to flap his guns.
“She whipped a fork at him and it pierced right through his sunglasses, but just enough to not actually pierce his eyes. She seems to have the speed and agility of a cheetah while having the precision of a sniper. She's a true, perfect masterpiece in a woman's body."
Charles ponders for another minute, humming once to himself as he shifts his eyes back on the two in front of him.
"So she's quick... but speed is nothing if she doesn't have the power. I will send a crew to ransack some of her businesses."
Goo can't help but feel iffy about the situation, he felt a strange feeling welling inside him as Charles says that. But ultimately, he isn't surprised by his plan. He had been a part of so many of Charles' plans over time, so it was no surprise to him that his plan to get Nova to cooperate involved violence. His face immediately goes neutral again as he remembers that there is no place for empathy here. It was all about business and profits for this organization and they couldn't let this woman get in their way of that. Or is how he tried to soothe his nerves with.
While Gun's face hardens, he nods his head. They both know what the outcome of all this will be in that regard.
"That would be wise, her businesses would be completely defenseless. Even if fast, speed is nothing if it doesn't have the power backing it."
So sending a few men he did. An hour and a half passed since then, and there was still no update about how it all has progressed.
Goo fiddles with his thumb with his lips pursed as he sits on a bench. Eyes casted on the pavement as they're now outside of the house, as Gun smoked a cigarette.
"I've never been so conflicted about something like such before...”
Goo mutters out, glancing at Gun who seemed as unbothered as ever.
Though Goo's words made him wonder what was really going on here. Was Goo getting soft on them? Or was his loyalty to the organization getting less and less? He didn't have the answer to that but one thing was for sure, he needed to shut Goo up before he started acting too soft.
"What kind of nonsense are you spouting now? I can literally hear you overthinking it. You aren't actually soft for her, right?"
Gun questions with a slight tone of menace, taking another exhale of his cigarette as he gives him a hard look, his eyebrow rising just slightly.
"... I don't know...or at least I don't think so." Goo shrugs, his mind for sure running marathons. "I know we've also done the same with countless businesses all throughout South-Korea without any remorse and whatsoever... this is the first time I feel like we wronged the nicest person in the worst way possible."
Gun was starting to get a little worried now, Goo was beginning to let his feelings influence him. It was only natural since this woman was so kind and empathetic, but that kind of quality was not welcome in the world of gangs. If he let this get to him anymore, he could very well turn against them. He didn't want to have to deal with dealing with Goo's betrayal as well. This is honestly starting to get ridiculous to him, he's never seen his partner get so upset over something like this before.
"It was inevitable that we were going to have to do that. You already know that her kindness wouldn't keep her alive in this world, so I don't know what you're so worried about. It's nothing we haven't done to anyone else before."
Goo lets out an exhausted sigh as he leans back on the bench, staring up at the sky.
"I just have a bad feeling about this, is all..."
Gun's eyebrow raises slightly, slowly raising a hand and rubbing the bridge of his nose as he just lets out a groan of frustration.
"Listen, I've been working with you long enough now to know when you get these ‘bad feelings’ about stuff. If you're worried then we'll just go over there ourselves, how about that? If we deal with some of the trouble on our own, it might get that bad feeling out of your system and get you to calm down again."
"Fine..."
The blonde mutters out with a slight pout, sitting up slowly.
As soon as Gun finished his tangent, is the same moment he gets a message to get back in. His expression lights up as he hears that they finally have an update, him reaching down and stomping his cigarette into oblivion with his hand as he looks over at Goo with a confident look on his face.
"We have updates on the situation. Come on."
As he speaks, Gun looks over at Goo for just a small moment before he turns back around and starts walking and Goo follows with a crease between his eyebrows..
The crease between his eyebrows deepen even more when they step foot into the office. Gun is getting a little worried, he has never seen his boss so puzzled and taken aback in a good while. They could tell by his facial expressions, and the uneasy atmosphere as well with the tension now rising up in the room.
"The men I have sent have been defeated in every bar, store and establishment of hers. None of my men could return."
Once they hear those words from Charles, their eyes both widen in disbelief and shock. Both of them stare at the older man in disbelief as the two of them stand with dumbfounded looks on their faces.
"You're saying... nobody came back?"
Gun questions slowly, blinking slowly at Charles as he lets what he had just said sink in, his eyebrow raising in complete bewilderment as does Goo's, hardly able to suppress the smirk that was threatening to stretch out on his face.
"Her men has single handedly defeated all and everyone... and apparently it was her alone who took out my most skilled men by herself... Not only her men are skilled, but so is she. I did not expect that at all."
Charles mutters out with a groan. Eyes closing with his brows knitted together, clearly frustrated at the turn of events, and the smirk now fully lifted both corners of his lips when he hears the news that it was Nova that did all that, but Gun's expression looks much less enthusiastic.
"That’s sounds unbelievable.."
Gun mumbles out with a baffled look on his face, his shoulders rising as he gives Charles a look of shock, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Either way, desperate times call for desperate measures." Charles responds, eyes opening with a furious glint in them. "I will send the two of you and a few more men to dissect the whole of her businesses in the city. Attacking from all and every angles. Your main target is Nova. Finish the job for me, and make sure to break that woman in so she has no other choice but to oblige."
The two boys were monsters for a reason. The best of the best, if not the best, among all of the Ten Geniuses as of yet. The two of them should have no problem taking down one single person so she has no choice to bend to their will at the end.
As soon as Charles's words finish, Goo's face pales slightly as he looks over at Gun beside him, the two of them staring at each other for just a moment as they absorb the message that Charles had just given them.
"We got it, we won't let you down, Sir..."
Goo replies calmly, the two of them giving Charles a calm, collected look, his words sounding far too calm for the situation that they had been handed.
"Go now. I believe the two of you should be able to handle her. The other men I have sent are already in Busan. If everything goes as planned this time, it will only be her left.”
Both of the boys give a single nod of understanding to the instructions, and with that they both walk out of the room without another word, leaving Charles alone as they go get prepared for their trip to Busan.
"Alright, looks like we're headed back to Busan."
Goo comments as he looks over at Gun, a slight smirk on his face.
"You seem way too excited to see her even under these circumstances..."
Gun comments, eyeing him suspiciously, but shakes his head softly at the end.
Even though Goo is somewhat excited, he can't help but feel a ripple of fear run through him. As much as he had some personal feelings for the girl, her skills were still unknown.
The blonde just grins even more when Gun remarks about how excited he looks to see Nova again, him just giving the other a playful roll of the eyes in response.
"Hey, you know me, I like strong women. And a woman like her? Well, she's a whole other level of powerful... and a whole lot sexier too-"
"Whatever, just make sure you focus. Idiot."
He lets out a laugh, the tension melting away as they begin to focus on what they need to do instead of their emotions.
Maybe an hour later as they arrive in Busan, the atmosphere certainly doesn't feel as welcoming as the last time.
There is a certain tension in the air all around, the clouds are more gray, and the streets are eerily empty.
"Why did you bring a katana...?"
Gun asks Goo, spotting the weapon on his back in its sheath.
The latter just smiles when the questions is thrown his way, a smug look on his face.
"What? I wanted to make sure I'm extremely well equipped. Plus, I'm a man of style, and what's even more stylish than a Katana, right?”
He says in his usual, laid-back tone, his eyes filled with glee and excitement as they approach Nova's buildings.
"You're annoying.." Gun rolls his eyes at that as they keep walking through the streets, muttering under his breath.- "It's just a girl going on a rampage anyway... nothing more, nothing less."
Perhaps his own delusions will also calm his own discomfort as well about the situation. If only he knew what they were really in for, he'd have probably been much less dismissive.
"You said it, White Ghost. Just a simple girl on a rampage, nothing to worry about, right?~"
Goo chuckles out, his pace remaining steady as he walks along beside Gun, giving him a laid-back look as the two of them approach Nova's buildings. Gun's words actually got his nerves to calm down a little bit, if he started to think of her as just a woman then it would be easier to deal with her…But that woman is far from just a normal woman, even if Gun doesn't believe that she is, he did.
They remain mostly silent for the rest of the walk, as they approach their first location. The bars and establishments were all filled with all Charles' men taken out. Bodies upon bodies, the eerie smell of blood a little too strong for their likings. Goo noticed a pattern with all of the locations they went to so far, it was the same thing everywhere. The whole location would look trashed, bodies lying around, and yet the woman herself was no where to be found.
"God damn... this isn't just rampage, but a straight up massacre..."
Goo exclaims softly, nose pinched together as he nudges a body with his foot
"It's a damn bloodbath..."
Gun mutters out, looking around the room at all the men sprawled on the ground, their bodies looking beaten into a pulp as his expression darkens slightly at the sight of it all.
"It might be a good idea if we stick together, this chick isn't someone to mess with alone. We need to stay together at all times if we don't wanna end up like these guys are."
"Yeah, let's leave now, it smells like straight up death in here..."
Goo mutters out a response, leaving the establishment first.
Until nothing else but the restaurant where they first met a week ago remain.
The moment they enter the street, is the moment it all becomes so real.
Trails of blood scattered all around the road and pavement. Bodies mutelated, mauled, Goo swears he just saw a body torn in half from the jaw down. A cold shiver creeps up their necks, especially when their eyes land on the person they have been looking for all along.
Standing in the sea of bodies is Nova. White dress stained with blood, hands covered in the same crimson substance up to her elbows, skin and flesh under her nails. Hair disheveled, an eerily blank face paired with a blood thirsty gaze as her eyes glow luminously white. Barefoot as she stands, emitting nothing but a pressuring aura.
"Well... isn't she beautiful?"
Goo remarks, his eyes locked onto her just a few feet away, a smirk forming on his face as he looks at her blank expression combined with the blood- thirsty look in her glowing white eyes.
...is he dumb?
"You did... all of this?"
Gun aims his question towards the woman, who slowly turns her head towards their direction.
Goo's heart almost drops right out of his asshole, smirk faltering lightly.
She definitely wasn’t as happy to see them again as he was..
She lets out a long exhale, breath so warm the fog of it filters visibility into the frigid air... and it wasn't even winter time.
“So it was you two behind this all along... huh?..”
She asks, tone empty. Monotone, no hint of emotions in her words, but the way she was practically staring at Gun like he was a prey about to be hunted down, told them more than enough
"Guilty as charged.~"
Goo replies with a chuckle, his smirk still plastered on his face as he looks at the girl, a gleeful tone in his voice. Gun looks just as confident, staring at Nova.
"Don't take this personally, it's nothing but business."
Gun states firmly, his eyebrow raising slightly as he keeps his expression calm, his hand slowly moving to grab a pack of cigarettes.
He could barely take the pack out of his pocket, his eyes widening. As the last syllable leaves his lips is the same moment she lunges towards him like a catapult. Arms extended, nails looking like they're about to tear him into shreds.
Gun barely manages to dive away just as she reaches him, rolling over the ground before he looks up at her once again, his eyes flashing with both surprise and amusement as she skids away slightly, nails digging into the concrete, ploughing it up.
"Oh, that was fast..."
He mutters under his breath as he pushes himself up to his feet, his eyes locked on her with a determined gaze.
"Fast?? It was like she teleported the fuck??"
Goo was horrified by the speed she moved with and it almost got him shocked into not knowing what to do next.
While still on the ground, she digs her limbs into the pavement to use as leverage to catapult a flying split kick used in Kyokushin Karate to send a heavy blow towards Goo this time as she flips with her leg extended.
Taken aback by the sheer velocity that simple kick had, he manages to block it above his head with his arms crossed, making him grimace, he for sure hasn't felt a blow this heavy, in a long while.
He for sure felt and heard his bones crack, a hiss of pain escaping his lips while he grimaces slightly, giving Nova a look of disbelief.
"That actually hurt..."
He mutters softly to himself, his eyes remaining locked on her even as he takes a step back, trying to ignore the pain in his arms as Gun suddenly takes a step towards Nova, trying to land a punch at her from behind.
While foot still printed hard against the blonde's arm, the other top of her feet lock behind Gun's head after he is in closer proximity, she now uses them as a lunch pad to push herself away, not just dodging his punch, but in the mean time making them headbutt each other. Hard.
Letting out a shout of pain in unison as they both smash their heads into each other, their faces colliding in a brutal collision as they both stagger back, a pained look on both of their faces.
"God damn it...."
Goo mutters under his breath as he holds his head in his hands, Gun doing the same as he slowly wipes the small trickle of blood flowing from his nose.
Charging at her the same time, their fight continues.
Unfortunately to them, one sidedly for the most duration of the time.
Neither of them seen someone who has so many martial arts abilities, skills and techniques under their belts. Some they haven't even experienced before.
Sheer power and skills blending perfectly. Speed almost teleportational, countless times disappearing out of their peripheral visions just to appear right behind them, and send such blows that stung like needles, or were heavy like tons of weight were just dropped on them. Every move is impossible to expect and predict, every move she makes sends shivers down their spine.
It was like she was the perfect mix of all the fighters they have since met, be it in the second or first generation.
"DUDE JUST LAND A PUNCH!"
Goo exclaims in a hastily manner, in the midst of throwing his own heavy blow, only for his wrist to be grabbed, his own flow of power be turned against him as she makes him eat hard concrete, the pavement denting under him, almost swallowing him up whole.
"I'm trying!!"
Gun shouts loudly, his voice filled with a mix of both impatience and frustration, his expression desperate as he tries to come up with some sort of a plan.
Deciding to just straight up go for it, at this time not really having even a second to spare, and throws a straight blow her way, it was scary, with how much ease she evades it, almost like flowing with the air.
“Leave.”
She speaks as takes a very firm hold of them both, flipping them in the air and slam them back down into the pavement by their throats.
“Leave Busan and never return.”
Hoisting them up in the air in the midst of their concussion, not even giving them a chance to recover, kicking them both down once again like a soccer ball, Gun flying right into a brick wall, and Goo eats concrete once again a few feet away.
“This is my city.”
Both men lay motionless on the ground, clearly beaten, still for several moments, trying to process and recover from the beating they've just received, before eventually Gun lifts his head up a bit, a pained but satisfied expression on his face as he pushes himself up onto his knees.
"Damn... I don't think... I've ever been beaten like that..."
He mutters softly, his breath coming out in labored puffs with a wide smile, the pain making it hard for him to form a coherent thought, other than knowing it felt exhilarating.
She's far beyond human at this point, she isn't someone to be underestimated at all.
While taking steps closer to Gun specifically, the only thing he can do at this point is just to watch her near, and attack when the time is right.
“I will not let you destroy what I have created.”
She utters out flatly, a hand inching towards Gun's face slowly.
“Cool eyes... mind if I take them as souvenirs?”
A look of disbelief and horror appear on Gun's face the moment he hears those words, his eyes widening slightly as he hears Nova's intentions. It's clear that both of them have never met someone stronger than them until now, never even considered such a possibility before this moment. Without much time to react, Gun tries to dodge back, but she's too fast, her hand grabbing his face in one quick, swift, almost instantaneous move.
He sits knees on the ground, jaw almost breaking in her grasp, looking at her like she's some kind of otherworldly monster, as he starts to wonder if he will even be able to hold out any longer.
This was a feeling neither of them were used to at all. Gun had never truly experienced fear like this before from a fight with someone, he always knew that no matter what he could always win. He always had such confidence that he would always win, but this time he was genuinely afraid. She didn't just overpower them. This time, they were completely outmatched. They were the prey and she was the predator in this situation. In that moment, all the cockiness and arrogance he usually possessed was gone, replaced with pure dread. This wasn't just a girl on a rampage, she was a monster.
Meanwhile, Goo, although going in an out of consciousness, and through gritted teeth as he already feels all and every bone in his body broken, the moment he notices the woman standing above Gun's body, is the same moment in a blink of an eye, he rushes forward.
Katana pulled out of its case, a deadly glint in his eyes as he makes one swift moment, stabbing the girl right through her abdomen from the front as he now suddenly stands behind Gun.
Perhaps his katana and swordsmanship actually came into good use.
For a moment, it looked as though Goo had managed to land a decisive blow...
But her expression made it clear. She wasn't even phased by it, her face remaining as blank and expressionless as ever as she simply turns her head to look back down at Goo, who was now staring back up at her in shock and disbelief.
"Oh... I am so fucked."
Are his only words as she takes a step forward.
Yes, forward.
While the blade still piercing right through her, discarding Gun aside like a measly ragdoll as she walks even deeper into the blade, and grips the sharp edge with her hand so he can't even think about moving the blade any way.
Of course nothing budges. Every time he tries to push her, or lever her off the blade, she doesn't even move at all. Not with her holding the shaft of it with such grip it was denting the metal. She doesn't look in any pain, or even show any reaction at all. She just keeps moving forward slowly despite the huge blade piercing into her stomach.
In fact, as she slowly pushes forward, the sound of the katana tearing through flesh can be heard in the empty city street, making both Goo and Gun tense up as a look of realization passes through their expressions.
What the hell was this woman made of...??
Blade broken by the tight grip of her hand after it had enough of warping and twisting her other hand is already up in the air. Hands flat like a spear, extended, ready to strike.
What happened after that is unclear.
After several moments, it was over. Goo and Gun both lay on the ground motionless, both of them completely unconscious and completely beaten for the first time in their lives. Everything hurt, and the shock from the whole ordeal was weighing heavy on them.
It went against everything they believed had ever known in their lives, the belief that no matter what, they would always win. But she changed that belief forever. Now, they would live the rest of their lives knowing someone more powerful and stronger than them was out there somewhere.
It is a story no one really talks about, since how unbelievable it sounds.
Two of the best, most powerful fighters in SK getting taken down by none other than a woman, in mere minutes.
Perhaps that was a good choice, that no one mentioned it since then, and did their best to keep it a secret. At least some of their ego stayed in tact, but couldn't help how bruised, and a broken they both felt after that.
