Poppy character development appreciation post!
In Branch's old pod, when Poppy says he can talk to her, she pays full attention, never takes her eyes off him, and when he hesitates she continues to smile patiently. In World Tour, while he's trying to talk to her, she has her back to him and is focusing on watering the flowers, and when he hesitates, she only half pays attention.
When a friendly but random stranger picks up Branch who is clearly not liking to be thrown around, Poppy doesn't laugh about it or go along with it. And instead of saying politely, "hey, excuse me, could you please put him down", she literally snaps at JD, "STOP, PUT HIM DOWN RIGHT NOW". (and of course she refers to Branch as her boyfriend🥰)
"JD is only here because he needs something". When JD confirms that's true, Poppy could've said, "Nah, there's more to it than that", and JD could've said, "Yeah, Floyd's in danger..." and Poppy would've gone "See, told you..." Instead, she gives JD a deadpan look and says flatly, "C'mon, I'm trying here." Again, blunt and not Queen Poppy's usual giddy politeness.
Poppy wants to hear the full story of how she and Viva got separated, whereas before Poppy would've accepted Viva's vague explanation like, "Oh well, we're together now, everything's cupcakes and rainbows!" Now, Poppy recognizes Viva is changing the subject to avoid discussing negative feelings, and thanks to Branch, Poppy now knows that sugarcoating everything is not the way to deal with your problems. Also, Poppy is patient and gentle with Viva - she understands this is a sensitive / painful topic for her sister, and isn't pestering, "C'mon, tell me, tell me, I gotta know!"
In Trolls 1, when Cloud Guy teases Branch who clearly is not amused, Poppy laughs despite the life or death situation they're in. In Trolls 3, when JD teases Branch about wearing a smaller diaper, Poppy doesn't find it funny and doesn't say something like "Oh, come on, Branch, just go with it, have fun!"
When Branch tells Poppy he didn't need his brothers growing up and doesn't need them now, Poppy doesn't object or try to convince him to go back and make it work with them anyway. She just follows him, supporting him in the way he needs: being there for him no matter what. Since things didn't work out with Viva, Poppy realized family is indeed complicated.
When Poppy stops Branch from walking away, she doesn't only say, "I've always been by your side, give me some credit". She says how they've been by each other's sides. She didn't get annoyed that he implied she'll leave him, because she sees now that he's afraid of losing her like he lost his brothers and his grandma. She tells him she's not going anywhere in a sincere tone, not being silly or dismissive.
At Mount Rageous, Branch is the one taking the lead / making the plans while Poppy supports it and follows his lead. She isn't being reckless with Branch blindly following along, and she isn't making light of the situation (like in the first movie she scrapbooks his plan. Also, her 'plan' is to 'rescue everyone and make it home safely', which Branch points out is not a plan. Now she's helping him formulate an actual plan). When trying to get onto the yacht, she asks Branch, "What do we do?" She now is willing to listen to him and respects that he can be a leader, not just her.
Poppy very bluntly points out Velvet/Veneer's bad behaviour. No trying to justify it, no trying to change their minds with kind words and catchy songs, no asking nicely to let Brozone go - she screams that their phonies in front of a massive crowd, and the way she's angrily pacing tells me she wanted to say something worse. A huge change from Movie 1 and Movie 2 Poppy.
The protective-hand-reaching forward thing that Branch has always done to Poppy - she did to him!
BONUS - development from both Branch and Poppy: when she goes on her sister rant and he snaps her out of it, he starts shouting her name then softens, while she realizes what she's doing, snaps out of it, instantly calms down and gets to the point.
Here are some other great Poppy development posts I came across:

Hermione stirs awake due to your sudden movements next to her. You continue clutching your arm, grimacing.
Biting down hard on your tongue to avoid screaming out, and to redirect some of the pain in your arm elsewhere.
Since that day at Malfoy Manor, every new summon from the Dark Lord has been nearly unbearable to combat.
It seems the more you fought it, the more excruciating it got; torturing you into submission.
"Hey– why are you awake?" Hermione mutters groggily as she sits up as well.
You don't reply, only staring down at the Dark Mark, it pulses visibly, you wince again.
"Fuck–" You hiss, shutting your eyes tightly. You focus all your energy on fighting the affliction.
Hermione's expression rapidly turns to one of realization and then worry.
"It's hurting again?" Hermione asks, but she doesn't expect a response amidst your visible agony.
You observed as she hovered her hand over the mark on your arm. Hermione utters the incantation, and soon enough you are able to catch your breath again, the once torturous pulsing now reduced to a dull ache.
Painful, but bearable.
Your other senses return and finally you catch the other woman's gaze, you flash her a smile in relief and gratitude.
"Thank you." You say above a whisper, the Gryffindor responds by leaning in, planting several kisses on your cheek before nuzzling her face into your neck, holding you close.
She clutches onto you desperately, and you hold onto her same.
"I just hate to see you in pain." Hermione mumbles against your shoulder, you lean back to look at her.
"It wasn't always this bad.. You know who– he's getting desperate. Just like Harry said, he knows we are close to defeating him." You state, assuredly.
Your attempt to steer the conversation fails, your hopeful sentiment does nothing to sway Hermione, if anything she appears more distressed.
Your girlfriend looks away, helpless. Your brows furrow at the sight.
"What is it, my love?" You ask and Hermione hesitates to respond.
After a prolonged moment, her eyes finally meet yours again.
"I don't know– it just seems like you are having to sacrifice a whole lot to be here with me." The Gryffindor admits, she plays with your fingers nervously.
"Don't say that." You sigh.
You catch the tears welling up in Hermione's eyes, it makes you ache.
"I'm not here out of obligation, I'm here because I want to be." You state earnestly, trying your best to squander her doubts.
Stubbornly, Hermione continues to allow her anxieties to get ahold of her.
"What if the other Death Eaters– if they find us again– what if they do something to you?" The other woman continues to spiral, and you shake your head in disapproval.
"Hermione, you're not going to talk me into abandoning you.. not now. Not after everything we've endured." You affirm.
"But–" The Gryffindor starts and you swiftly interject.
"I don't care if they threaten to skin me alive.. I'm not leaving you." You counter dismissively and Hermione lets out a huff of amusement, she rolls her eyes, albeit half-heartedly.
"That's not funny." She scolds, your girlfriend glares at you to the best of her ability.
It only makes your heart swell.
"It wasn't a joke." You quip, gently cupping her cheek with your hand.
Hermione eyes flutter shut as she leans into your touch, she releases a deep breath, tilting her head to place a chaste kiss on your palm.
"Either way, it's my fault. I should've never gone to the initiation, I should've fought against it." You insist, this time Hermione shakes her head, she grabs your wrist firmly.
"You didn't have a choice." She counters, and after deliberating, you nod.
You were merely buying time, an attempt to throw your parents off your trail. You didn't have a choice.
"No I didn't–" You agree.
"But I do now– and I'm choosing you. That is all." You state and Hermione's tense expression softens at last.
She leans in to capture your lips with her own, kissing you deeply. Amidst your lip lock, your girlfriend moves to straddle you, her hand moves to the nape of your neck. Your own hands instinctively settle on Hermione's waist as she opens her mouth wider, inviting you to deepen the kiss.
As your tongue enters her mouth, you are allowed a fleeting moment of bliss before you feel another sharp pain, it courses through your arm, so sudden and unwelcomed that you are forced to break the kiss.
Hermione chases your lips for a moment before gathering herself, once again she appears concerned, but you school your expression, placing a chaste kiss on the corner of her mouth.
"Go back to sleep.. I need to get some air." You say, gently shoving your girlfriend off your lap.
Hermione takes the hint, but still, she sees right through you.
"What's wrong?" She asks as she settles on her side of the bed once more.
"Nothing. I just need to clear my head. I'll be right back, I promise." You reply, as convincingly as you can manage.
Hermione isn't satisfied with your response, but she decides not to push it further.
She nods, loosening her grip on your sleeve.
You avoid eye contact as you plant a lingering kiss on her forehead, one Hermione can't help but melt into.
The Gryffindor has to fight the urge to force you to stay as you climb out of bed, stepping out of the tent.
═══════════════════════════════════════════
You wrap your arms around yourself as the cold breeze pierces through the midnight air, edged and ruthless.
The sharp sting that was once contained to your left arm has since spread throughout your entire body, your coat proving less than adequate to keep you even remotely warm.
You quickly regret your decision to leave the comfort of Hermione's embrace.
Just as you've decided on returning to the tent, a faint light in the distance catches your attention, and soon you make out a male figure in the shadows as it approaches you.
Quickly deducing that it couldn't be neither Harry nor Ron, as they were both asleep in their respective tents.
You instinctively fish out your wand from your pocket, you grip it tightly, prepared to use it if needed.
As you catch a glimpse of platinum hair, your face contorts in shock. The notes of his cologne envelops your senses, familiar and unmistakable, you don't get the opportunity to consider if your eyes were playing tricks on you.
"Draco? what–" You gape.
"Listen, I can't stay long." Your best friend interjects, halting directly in front of you.
Then, your body reacts before your mind can mitigate it. You lunge forward, practically jumping into his arms.
Draco is stunned for a moment, until he finally embraces you just as tightly in return.
"How are you?" He asks as soon as you separate.
You scoff. It was an impossible question to answer, a bit silly frankly, but you knew Draco was merely asking out of genuine concern.
"I'm alright." You reply, you watch as he nods, chewing on his bottom lip.
"What about you?" You return the gesture and he chuckles, humorless.
Draco shrugs, avoiding an answer entirely.
"Things are getting really tense." He claims, lowering his voice to a whisper.
"Your parents have sent out a band of snatchers to look for you." Your best friend states and you aren't particularly shocked.
"Of course they did." You comment through a long sigh.
Draco steps closer, even though you were seemingly entirely alone, the platinum haired man remains paranoid.
"Word has spread about you and Hermione, and– what you did to Bellatrix. I can't guarantee that the other Death Eaters won't harm you if they find you." Your best friend remarks. An uneasy feeling settles at the pit of your stomach, you fold your arms over your chest.
"You have to lay low– or just come back home, please, it's far too dangerous." He pleads.
"Draco, you know I can't do that." You respond with a scowl, but the man was insistent.
"If you come home, at the very least, your parents– they'll protect you." His attempts to convince you prove fruitless, Draco only grows increasingly desperate.
"You're going to get yourself killed. Out here– with them." He finally states plainly, gesturing to the tent behind you, and you can't find it in yourself to deny a plain truth.
"Maybe." You say, and you pause as Draco sets his jaw, somehow he is more worried than you are.
"But I can't leave her." You add and finally he scoffs.
"You are so stubborn." The platinum haired man hisses, but you don't take offense, only finding the irony in his words.
"You're one to talk." You retaliate, and Draco finally tears his eyes away.
Your best friend knows now that you've made up your mind, nothing he says in this moment will convince you otherwise.
"Then know this– The Dark Lord is planning an ambush on Hogwarts, any day now." Draco now basically whispering directly into your ear.
"Ambush? Why? Snape's headmaster now, Dumbledore's gone, isn't that what he wanted?" You lean back slightly, perplexed.
Draco shrugs but now he appears noticeably distressed, more than he was just a moment ago, the man checks your surroundings once more.
"I think he wants to take over, and leave people no choice but to join his cause. No doubt he will kill anyone who dares to go against him." Your best friend adds, and your mouth falls open slightly at the realization.
Voldermort was definitely getting desperate.
"Just promise me that you'll stay away." Draco reiterates sternly, but you don't reply, your gaze fixed on the darkness, far in the distance as you allow your mind to speculate.
"Y/n." Draco insists on a response, he snaps you out of your thoughts.
"It's up to Harry, really. Hermione will follow his lead, I have to as well." You finally say, and it's not the answer the man was hoping for, his head falls below his shoulders in defeat.
Just before you can conjure some version of an apology, Draco wraps his arms around you, once again. He hugs you in a way that lets you know how afraid he truly is, a crippling feeling you both shared.
Things are entirely uncertain now. It is possible you may never see each other again.
"I really hope she's worth it." The man says as he releases you, and just as you open your mouth to respond, you hear a rustling from the tent behind you.
Draco flinches and your head snaps back to investigate the noise.
In just a fraction of a second, a sudden gust of air tickles the side of your face. The same side where Draco was standing just moments ago.
You no longer feel his presence, his cologne now a lingering scent. He's disapparated and frustratingly, you can't contain the tears prickling in your eyes.
However, you force yourself not to let them fall as Hermione soon peaks her head out of the tent, before taking a large step outside.
You recognize your cardigan wrapped around her frame.
"Y/n, who were you talking to?"
════════════════════════════════════════════
Harry and Ron narrow their gaze at you in disbelief, while Hermione kept her hand intertwined with yours.
The conversation with Draco had casted a shadow over you, sudden and nearly paralyzing. It seems you were grieving.
You grieved the chance to go home and be with your family. Mainly you can't help but feel you've failed Draco in some way.
It weighed on you, knocked you off your feet. Hermione senses this but she can only offer to hold your hand as you try to find your footing.
"What, you still don't trust me?" You scoff as The Chosen One and his best friend continued to stare at you with skepticism.
"No, not really.." Ron quips, and you don't care enough to grace him with a reaction, luckily for him, Harry finally speaks up.
"It's not that– why would Draco help us?" He ponders, no longer skeptical, just doubtful.
"Yeah, how do you know he's not setting us up? The Death Eaters might be on their way already." The ginger haired man is still convinced of your ulterior motives and you finally glower at him.
"Ron, if that were true they would've taken us already, you know that." Hermione chimes in before you, and you are thankful for it.
"In any case– we'll have to go back to Hogwarts anyway." Harry states, the one thing you were afraid he would utter.
You hold your head in your hands for a moment. As righteous and frustrating as he can be, of course Harry will always try to do the right thing.
That is the exact opposite of what you should do right now.
"And what? Offer yourself up as bait?" You taunt, but he is unfazed, certain of his decision.
"I can't just let them die." He asserts and you glance at Hermione, a look on her face that shows she is not exactly on your side, not this time.
"What exactly is your plan, Potter?" You relent.
"The Horcrux is hidden somewhere in the castle, we have to go there and locate it and kill it– and if Draco is right, if you know who marches on Hogwarts that means the snake will be with him, I can find the snake. I will kill it and we'll get a step closer to ending him, once and for all." The dark haired man declares with such conviction, but it does nothing to convince you.
The task will not be an easy one, there are bound to be consequences.
"Fine." Ron mutters in agreement.
Then Harry shifts his gaze to Hermione, "Alright." She nods in approval as well.
The scowl that covers your features only falters as you meet Hermione's expectant look.
You roll your eyes, it was three against one. It is not like you have much of a choice.
"Something tells me this is going to go horribly wrong.." You trail off.
"But alright."
════════════════════════════════════════════
You apparate into Hogsmeade, and the incessant screeching that pierces the evening air was deafening. It disorients the four of you, but you quickly gain your bearings as you spot the group of Death Eaters in the distance.
You, along with the golden trio, continue to use the darkness to your advantage. You disappear into the shadows, eventually crouching down behind a large table.
Soon the Death Eaters disperse into different directions, but a pair of them continue to head your way.
Heavy footsteps approach, the pair of men mutter something intelligible before they begin scanning through the area, looking underneath each table.
The four of you glance at each other, desperate for a way out. It was too late to disapparate, you were at all loss, you were about to get caught, again.
The sense of dread that overpowers you is only subdued as you feel Hermione clutching onto your arm.
You are graced with a fleeting moment of clarity, soon enough, an idea occurs to you.
You roll up your sleeves quickly, leaving your Dark Mark exposed.
Hermione observes your action silently, perplexed.
Then you begin to rise, but before your head can emerge into view, she harshly pulls you back down with a death grip on your collar.
She scowls.
"What are you doing?" She whispers, but her tone is sharp, vexed.
"Just trust me." You respond, providing no further explanation, you extract your wand quickly as you fight out of her hold as you stand up abruptly.
The pair of Death Eaters jumps slightly at the sight of you. You quickly realize that both men were unfamiliar to you; there is a chance they don't recognize you either.
You continue to push your luck, stepping out of the shadows. When the mark on your arm comes into view, their expressions grow less tense, and you release the breath you were holding.
It appears your luck has yet to run out.
"He's not under here, I've just checked." You lie, and it doesn't take the men much convincing to take your word.
They give you a curt nod.
"You cover the rest of this side, we'll check over there." One of the Death Eaters orders, soon they both turn to walk in opposite directions, splitting up to cover more of the area.
You waited until they were out of view before crouching down again, but to your confusion, Hermione was nowhere to be found.
No trace of Harry and Ron either.
"Lumos." As you searched for them, you began trying to mentally uncover an explanation.
You wonder if they had perhaps apparated elsewhere, but you eventually decide against the possibility. Certain that your girlfriend wouldn't just leave you like that, at least not without some type of forewarning.
Soon, you are inching past a dark alley, rows of abandoned pubs and houses come into view, but no sign of the trio.
"Hermione–" You finally call out, frustrated.
They are hiding, somewhere.
As you near the seemingly abandoned Hog's Head pub, the door suddenly opens, and you are dragged in by the arm, the touch you immediately recognized.
You can't contain it as you beamed in relief as  you step inside, your girlfriend locks the door swiftly before dragging you further down a flight of stairs.
Once you get to the bottom of the steps the Gryffindor finally turns to you. Your grin now reduced to an easy smirk as you stared at Hermione, merely gratified at the knowledge that she had no true plans to abandon you.
Then the other woman gazes at you knowingly, a tangible sense of devotion and deeply rooted trust, a feeling that tethers you to the other.
The pair of you now certain that you could survive anything, as you will always have each other to rely on.
It moves your very spirit, the urge to act upon your desires overcomes your being and Hermione in turn, gives into her own. Soon you are both leaning in, as your lips crashed against Hermione's, she kisses you, despairingly and unafraid. She presses her body up against yours and you fall back against the wall behind you.
"You need to stop taking risks like that, they could've recognized you." Hermione breathes out as your mouths separate, she runs her fingers through your hair.
You don't respond, merely scanning her delicate features with your eyes, you find yourself memorizing every freckle and crease.
You thumb tracing over her bottom lip causing them to part slightly.
Then, you kiss her again, open mouthed and forceful. Hermione welcomes this, as she lets slip a faint noise of approval, your hand rests on the small of her back, pulling her impossibly closer.
Your plans to continue the kiss is ruined as you hear the harsh noise; the sound of someone clearing their throat.
Hermione pulls away first, then she looks away, sheepish.
Contrastingly you stare down the source of the interruption. Ron's disapproving stare has done nothing but vex you in the past, and this time it is no different.
"Sorry to interrupt, but we've got more important matters to deal with right now." The snide remark irritates you, but not as much as it might have once did as you recognized that he had a fair point.
Before you can retaliate, the swinging door leading into the kitchen opens, a man enters.
A man you quickly realized to have an uncanny resemblance to the previous headmaster of Hogwarts.
You observed as he set down a tray of bread and butterbeer. As Ron approaches the tray, Hermione does as well, dragging you along with her, but you kept your gaze on the man, squinting slightly, perplexed.
"Aberforth. Dumbledore's brother." Hermione finally leans in to whisper into your ear, providing you the answer to your question.
You take a single bite of the bread, nearly too tough to chew and almost impossible to swallow.
You gently place it back onto the tray, as polite as you can manage, you force the tough piece of bread down your throat and ingest nothing else after that.
Hermione and Ron continue chewing eagerly, merely glad of the decent bit of sustenance.
Harry doesn't move; he continues watching the painting of a girl, mounted up on the wall.
You find yourself staring at it as well, finally you catch the figure blink, as if it just took notice of you. Her shoulders rose and fell ever so slightly as she breathed, but her expression remained stoic.
"Do you hear from the others much– from the Order?" Hermione asks, after swallowing the contents in her mouth.
Aberforth narrows his gaze.
"The Order's finished. 'You know who' has won, anyone who says otherwise is killing themselves." He states definitively, his pessimism isn't lost on any of you.
"We need to get into Hogwarts tonight. Dumbledore gave us a job to do." Harry asserts, and Aberforth glances at him, almost amused.
"Did he now, Nice job? Easy?" The older man's condescension was beginning to make your head hurt.
Harry's patience stretches further than yours, as he manages a civil response.
"We've been hunting Horcruxes. We think the last one's inside the castle, but we'll need your help getting in." The chosen one states firm and unfazed.
Hermione quietly offers you her mug of butterbeer, you accept it gladly, taking a sip as the older man grants Harry an equally negative response.
"This is no job, my brother's given you. It's a suicide mission. Do yourself a favor, boy, go home. Live a little longer."
"Dumbledore entrusted me to see this through." Harry's conviction doesn't falter even as he begins to grow agitated himself.
"What makes you think you can trust him? What makes you think you can believe anything my brother told you? In all the time that you knew him, did he ever mention my name?" Aberforth taunts, the vitriol lacing his statements makes you grimace.
You glance at Hermione, she is sporting a similar look.
"Has he ever mentioned her?" The older man gestures to the painting.
Harry shrugs.
"Why should he–" He starts.
"Keep secrets? You tell me." Aberforth finishes for him.
"I trusted him." Harry insistent on not backing down.
"That's a boy's answer!" Aberforth barks.
"A boy who goes chasing Horcruxes on the word of a man who wouldn't even tell him where to start, you're lying!" The older man slurs, gesturing with a goblet still in hand.
Then, it finally occurred to you that the younger Dumbledore was drunk. At least drunk enough to take out his anger on the wrong person.
"Not just to me, that doesn't matter– to yourself as well. That's what a fool does. You don't strike me as a fool, Harry Potter, so I ask you again, there must be a reason." Aberforth continues, stepping closer the dark haired man.
Perhaps an effort to intimidate, but miraculously, Harry manages to keep a level head as he holds the man's hard stare.
"I'm not interested in what happened between you and your brother, I don't care that you've given up. I trusted the man I knew. We need to get into the castle, tonight." The Chosen One declares, and Aberforth is visibly taken aback by Harry's response, and so are you.
Then, the long bearded man nods subtly to the painting above Harry. The four of you watched intently as the girl walked further into it, disappearing into the distance.
"Where have you sent her?" Ron asks.
"You'll see, soon enough." Aberforth mutters, he walks with his goblet, toward the exit.
"That's your sister Arianna, isn't it? She died very young, didn't she?" Hermione asks, gesturing to the now vacant painting.
Aberforth pauses to look at her.
"My brother sacrificed many things, Mr Potter, on his journey to find power. Including Arianna." Aberforth's reply, a final attempt to sway Harry, but his devotion to the former headmaster of Hogwarts remains.
"Thank you, Mr Dumbledore." Your girlfriend expresses earnestly, and the man only nods, dejected, soon disappearing through the doorway.
"He did save our lives twice, and kept an eye on us in that mirror." Hermione looks between you, Harry and Ron.
"That doesn't seem like someone who's given up." She says in a hushed tone, now looking directly at Harry.
He averts his gaze, mulling over his best friend's statement.
A prolonged silence hangs around you before the painting starts to shift and move, soon it opens outward like a door, revealing a dark passageway.
You catch movement in the shadows, your hand instinctively moves to wrap around Hermione's waist. Your girlfriend doesn't hesitate to step slightly closer to you, also acting on instinct.
The figure that emerges is not one you'd expect, you quickly recognize it to be Neville Longbottom.
You didn't know him well, beyond a few fleeting interactions at school in the past, but
based on Harry's reaction, you considered his presence to be a welcomed one.
"Neville? You look–" The dark haired boy beams, and his friend interjects.
"Like hell I reckon." Neville quips.
"This is nothing, Seamus is worse."
He grins, his gaze shifts between the golden trio, and when his eyes fall on you, he appears stunned, for a moment.
You decide to flash him a clipped smile, one he eventually returns.
"We best get a move on." The man finally gestures.
════════════════════════════════════════════
"I don't remember this on the Marauder's Map." Ron questions as the four of you follow Neville through the dingy passageway.
You trailed closely next to Hermione, and Ron behind you.
"That's because it never existed until now, the other secret passages were sealed off before the start of the year. This is the only way in or out now." Neville explains, the light from his wand continues to barely illuminate the path ahead.
"The grounds are crawling with Death Eaters and Dementors." He remarks and suddenly you feel inclined once more to hide the Dark Mark beneath your sleeve.
Hermione catches your subtle action, but doesn't comment on it.
"How bad is it with Snape as Headmaster?" She asks instead, returning her attention ahead.
"Hardly ever see him. It's the Carrows you need to watch out for." Neville quips and your face contorts in disbelief.
"Carrows?" Harry asks.
"Yeah, they're in charge of discipline." His friend states.
"What? They put the Carrows in charge?" You gape, appalled.
"What is it? How horrible are they?" Hermione asks as she notices your reaction.
"I mean they're insane, fanatics– obsessed with blood purity. But last I heard, they were locked up in Azkaban." You admit and now Hermione's expression is nothing short of horrified.
You intertwined your fingers, an attempt to wordlessly reassure her.
"Well, they're out now." Neville states.
"Who do you think did this to me?" He adds, turning around for a moment to point at the deep gash on his face.
Although his tone was lighthearted, you can't help but feel a twinge of remorse.
After a few more steps, the five of you halt behind a flat wall. You eventually make it out to be the back of a painting, similar to one at the pub.
Neville pushes it open, he pauses to address the crowd on the other side, and soon enough, he steps aside to reveal Harry.
The room suddenly erupts with claps and cheers as they welcome The Chosen One.
Hermione continued to hold your hand as you stepped out of the passageway and into the room, Ron following suit.
You receive a few stares as you emerge next to Hermione, but no one addresses you directly, not until Seamus catches sight of you.
"What is she doing here?" He jeers, as the cheering for Harry completely dies down.
Now all eyes are definitely on you.
To your complete surprise, Ron is first to come to your defense.
"Back off alright, she's on our side." The ginger haired man says but Seamus is less than convinced.
"I'm sure that's what she wants us to believe. We've learnt well enough by now not to trust the word of any Slytherin." He spat as he stepped closer, and Seamus' attempt to intimidate you only works to amuse you.
You can't help the mocking smile that forms on your lips, and his scowl simply deepens at the sight.
"I say get her out of here." He announces, glancing around the room for any supporters of his idea.
"No!" Hermione interjects, she swiftly sets her body in between you and Seamus.
"We wouldn't be here without her help, Seamus you have no idea what you're on about." Ron defends you again, and this time you are truly bewildered.
Noticing he is outnumbered, Seamus relents.
"I've got my eye on you." He hands you the passing threat, and you tilt your head slightly.
"Is that supposed to frighten me?" You taunt, unfolding your arms, now you are prepared to go for your wand.
"Enough! None of this is going to help us defeat 'you know who'. We can't afford to fight amongst ourselves." Harry quickly shuts down the possibility.
"Harry's right." Neville steps forward.
"So what's the plan?" He asks, and soon all attention is on Harry once more as everyone awaits his call.
"Okay, there's something hidden here in the castle, and it may help us defeat 'you know who'." He starts, his voice bounces off the stone walls as the room goes silent.
"Right. What is it?" Neville asks expectantly.
"We don't know." Harry responds truthfully and his friend glances at Saemus for a moment.
"Where is it?" He tries again and Harry shakes his head.
"We don't know that either." He repeats and the group standing before the four of you continue staring, deadpan.
You allow your head to droop, letting out a prolonged sigh.
"Look, I realize that's not much to go on." Harry starts.
"That's nothing to go on." Seamus interjects.
"I think it has something to do with Ravenclaw. Um, it'll be small, easily concealed." Harry recalls his visions.
"Anyone have any ideas?" He asks, the desperation in his voice was evident.
For a while it seems all hope was lost, until Luna finally speaks.
"Well there's Rowena Ravenclaw's lost diadem." She suggests.
"Bloody hell, there we go." Ron releases a breath of relief.
Now the deadpan gaze is shifted towards the platinum haired girl.
"Lost diadem of Ravenclaw, has anyone ever heard of it? It's quite famous." Luna adds.
"Yes, but Luna, it's lost, for centuries now, there isn't a person alive who's seen it." Cho chimes in from next to her.
"Excuse me, can someone please tell me what a bloody diadem is?" Ron pleads, and you let out a huff of amusement, against your better judgment.
Hermione finds the opportunity to glare at you.
"It's a sort of crown, you know, like a Tiara." Cho explains, but it gives none of you any clue of where to locate it.
Before the discussion can go any further, the main door opens, soon Ginny bursts in, she is stunned for a moment as she spots Harry.
"Harry." She gapes.
"Hello." The dark haired man responds, equally jarred.
Ron scoffs as his sister pays no attention to him.
"Five months she hasn't seen me, it's like I'm 'Frankie first year'.. I'm her brother." He remarks above a whisper, and you grin.
"Yes but she's got a lot of brothers doesn't she? There's only one Harry." You quip teasingly, earning a smile from Hermione.
The ginger haired man merely rolls his eyes.
"Shut up, Y/n." He huffs.
"What is it Ginny?" Seamus finally asks.
"Snape knows. He knows Harry was spotted in Hogsmeade."

You and Alex were playing on a Minecraft survival world with Bad and Niki. It wasn't a role-play SMP or anything, just a simple survival world with the Better Minecraft mod.
"Hurricane Katrina? More like Hurricane Tortilla!"
y/u/n was shot by a skeleton
"Y/n did you just willingly give yourself up to those skeletons?" Quackity laughs
"in my defense, they all have chainmail and gold armour, and I have an unbreaking one iron sword and a dream"
"Language! Stop talking about that!" Bad yells
"Yeah, stop talking about pussies, Quackity!"
"Y/n!" Bad and Quackity both exclaim in different tones while Niki laughs
"WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FORRRR?" Quackity yells, referring to the Vine as he almost breaks his voice a bit
"I'm waiting for those creepers to kill you," you answer, clicking your mouse to swing your hand as to point behind his character
"OH MY GOD NO-"
quackity was exploded by a creeper
"MY SHIT! Y/N, NIKI, GET IT PLEASE, I HAD AN AWESOME DIAMOND HELMET"
"It's Wednesday my dudes-"
"Shut the fuck up I'm fighting a warden, I can't do this right now, Alex!"
"I wanted to be a cowboyyyy baybyyyy" quackity speaks with a shit southern accent
"please stop fucking quoting that" you snicker, "I'm on the edge of this fuckin thing, if I fall I'll die and lose the teleporting thing and your shit"
"No off topic questions. because I don't want to. no. no. you've been stopped"
"PLEASE, I JUST WANNA MAKE THE PENIS, STOP DESTROYING IT Y/N/N"
quackity keeps trying to shoot you off the ledge of the mountain where you were trying to build the base on the side of
"I said whoever keeps shooting me, your moms a hoe!"
"language!"
"you're a hoe, motherfucker!"
"quackity, watch out!"
quackity was exploded by a creeper
"AGAIN!?"
yknow that vine of that kid playing simple piano notes and the other kid getting down to it? that's like the halftime show of the stream
quackitys playing guitar and you're busting it down in game next to niki who can't stop laughing, and bad is totally silent because of all the foul language
I mean the song slapped
then quackity got absolutely sniped by a skeleton while he was on two hearts
"What the fuck is up Kyle? no, what did you say? what the fuck, dude? step the fuck up kyle!"
quackity gets all up close with the mic to literally inhale it, "y/n i love you but my names not Kyle"
"WHATRE THOSE???"
"They are my crocs."
"Actually why do you own crocs? red flag, we're breaking up and I'm dating niki now"
"You move on quickly" quackity mumbles and rolls his eyes
nicki smiles before speaking, "because I'm better than you, quackity"
"Road work ahead? Uh, yeah, I sure hope it does"
"Y/n you've spent 85% of this stream quoting Vines"
"Yeah I know, it's because I hate you"
"Wait what?"
when quackity brings up how he lived in the southern hemisphere and talks about living in Mexico, he pauses to breathe and you take the opportunity while you have it
"country boy I love youuuuuuuu. ah"
"WHAT THE FUCK?"
"BAHAHHAH"
"I can't be here anymore"
we've all seen the "Hey ron" "Hey billy" meme I think
you'll break into the base through the ceiling to get back in because you're working on a tunnel trailing through the inside of the cliff up to the top as the entrance
"Hey quackity" you say as you land next to quackity trying to sort through chests
"Hey y/n"
you scream as quackity sits down with some pizza in the middle of stream
he screams, "stop, you almost made me drop my pizza!"
yk that meme w the kid w the broomstick doing some anime pose battle shit? here's that one
you'll be swinging your sword around and spamming emotes "don't fuck with me! I have the power of God and anime on my side! AHHHH"
"who gave you the right to speak? You're on trial for breaking Bad's space bar!" Quackity exclaims
"I got it working again!!"
"let's do the fork in the garbage disposal!"
cue spamming emotes and lagging your games til they crash 💀💀💀
"love yourself! accept yourself!"
you became a positivity priest while quackity became a drug dealer
really splitting this world into two sides now LMFAO

𝗐𝖺𝗋𝗇𝗂𝗇𝗀𝗌: im on the verge of tears
𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬: 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮
Tumblr media
all i want is nothing more
to hear you knocking at my door
the rain poured down on the city streets, creating a water way on the sidewalk and walkways. ning was thankful she didn’t have to walk home like she did during pre-debut days.
her manager opened the door for her, making her sit down inside the all black vehicle before the door shut behind her.
ningning always thought of you whenever it rained. it was raining the night she met you, all those years ago.
the ambience of the car lulled ningning into deep thought. soft sounds of the midnight rain added to the sounds of the evening. with her head leaning on the window and the scenery passing by, she found herself remembering you once again.
“hi, roomie.”
ningning screamed so loud and nearly dropped her water bottle onto her foot when she walked into her dorm drenched from the rain, only to see a complete stranger standing there.
the chinese girl’s heart pounded in her chest as she stared wide-eyed at the unfamiliar face standing in the center of her dorm room. her mind raced to comprehend what was happening.
how did some stranger enter her dorm? and why did she refer to her as her "roomie"?
"um. excuse me?" ningning managed to stutter, her voice filled with a mix of confusion and caution. she clutched her water bottle tightly, unsure of how to react to this unexpected intrusion. the sounds of water from her soaking jacket dripping onto the floor filled the room.
you had the most beautiful face she had ever seen in her life. you slowly blinked in surprise and quickly realized your mistake.
"oh, i'm so sorry! i apologize for scaring you," you explained apologetically, voice laced with embarrassment. nevertheless, you still smiled at her. “i’m y/n. your new roommate.”
confusion laced ning’s features. roommate? since when did anyone want to room with her? everyone in the company held some sort of unbiased resentment towards her for simply being chinese.
“are you new here?” the other girl asked slowly.
you nodded, understanding ningning's confusion and the underlying tension she felt. "yes, i'm new. i just arrived at the company today." your voice held a hint of nervousness, as you were unsure of how ningning would react to your presence.
ningning's gaze softened as she took in your words, realizing that you were in a similar situation as she once was. the empathy she possessed kicked in, urging her to offer a warm welcome and make you feel at ease.
"well, y/n, welcome to the dorm," ningning said, a genuine smile gracing her lips. "i'm ningning."
you visibly relaxed at ningning's kind response. the weight of uncertainty lifted from your shoulders, replaced by a sense of relief.
"thank you, ningning." you replied sincerely before motioning towards her. “you can leave your jacket on the chair, i’ll dry it for you.”
the other girl’s heart swelled with gratitude at your offer, appreciating the small act of kindness. she removed her soaked jacket and handed it to you, watching as you carefully draped it over the back of the chair.
"thank you, y/n," ningning said, her soft voice filled with genuine appreciation. "i really appreciate it. it's been a long day, and your kindness means a lot."
you smiled warmly at her, a glimmer of understanding in your eyes. "i'm glad i can help. we're roommates now, so it's important that we look out for each other."
and as she looked into your eyes and mirrored your radiant smile, ningning suddenly didn’t feel alone anymore.
'cause if i could see your face once more
i could die as a happy man i'm sure
“hey ning?”
the mentioned girl hummed in response to your call as she scrolled through her phone aimlessly.
“can you teach me some chinese?”
ningning nearly dropped her phone on her face because she shot up into a sitting position so fast. she had been in korea for over 4 years, and she never once got asked by anyone to learn even a little bit about her native language.
“what did you just say?” she asked in utter disbelief, still not believing you actually had asked her that.
you couldn't help but chuckle at ningning's surprised reaction. it seemed you had caught her off guard with your request.
"i said, can you teach me some chinese?" you repeated, a smile playing on your lips. "you’re my roommate, so i thought it would be a great opportunity to learn some basics from you."
ning’s eyes widened with a mix of astonishment and delight. it was a refreshing change to have someone genuinely interested in her culture and language.
a warm smile spread across her face as she realized the significance of your request. "of course," she replied eagerly. "where would you like to start? greetings? basic phrases?"
you spent the evening engrossed in a lively language exchange. ningning patiently guided you through the intricacies of pronunciation and vocabulary, sharing stories and cultural tidbits along the way.
as the weeks passed, your chinese skills gradually improved, and ningning couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in your progress.
she was grateful for the opportunity to share her language and culture with you.
this small action meant more to ningning than anything else in the world. now she understood why minjeong loved you so much. you were truly a genuine person.
and as you continued to learn chinese, you not only gained knowledge of a new language but also gained a deeper understanding of ningning's heritage and the experiences that had shaped her.
your eagerness to learn and embrace her culture touched ningning's heart, reinforcing the importance of open-mindedness and acceptance in building lasting connections.
in the end, it wasn't just about language; it was about the willingness to understand her better. and ningning couldn’t help but feel like she was being seen for once in her life.
not as an sm rookie or a child star, but simply just as ning yizhuo.
when you said your last goodbye
i died a little bit inside
“no, y/n come on. you know i’m your best friend.” minjeong pleaded, on her knees as she looked at you.
ningning mirrored minjeong’s actions, looking up at you in the same manner. “come on, we’re roomies. you have to give it to me.”
you couldn’t help but laugh out loud at the sight in front of you. this situation started because you asked if either of them wanted any of your leftover soup. however, you didn’t anticipate that both of them would want it.
“i’ve known you longer.” “i have pictures of you sleeping on the floor.”
“hey woah!” you interrupted them and started laughing louder. “okay, what if i split the soup in half? that way you both get some.”the two girls looked at each other, silently communicating. however, a certain raven-haired trainee walked over to you. jimin folded her arms over her chest and looked down at minjeong and ning with a confused face.
“am i interrupting something?” she said with a chuckle, glancing between you and your two best friends.
“these two are fighting over some soup.” you smiled up at the taller girl before jimin answered. “maybe i should take it, that way neither of them get it. i think that’s fair.”
minjeong immediately stood to her feet as ning gasped in shock. “absolutely not. there are no third parties allowed to interfere with this soup dealing.” minjeong said as she pointed a finger at jimin.
jimin raised an eyebrow at your best friend’s defiant stance, amused by her determination. she unfolded her arms and placed her hands on her hips, adopting a playful expression.
"well, if i can't have the soup, maybe i should be the judge in this case," jimin suggested, a mischievous glint in her eyes. "after all, i have the authority to make fair and unbiased decisions."
ningning and minjeong exchanged curious glances, intrigued by the taller girl’s proposal. the thought of having their dispute settled seemed exciting.
you couldn't help but chuckle at the unfolding drama. "alright, if you're up for the challenge, be our impartial judge. but remember, the fate of the soup lies in your hands," you declared dramatically, feigning seriousness.
jimin nodded, accepting her newfound responsibility with gusto. "very well, i shall hear both sides of the argument and render a fair verdict," she announced, adopting a mock judge's tone.
minjeong and ningning took turns presenting their cases, each passionately arguing why they deserved the soup. they provided compelling evidence, ranging from their friendship history to their shared living arrangements.
after considering their arguments (not really), jimin finally spoke up, a playful smirk playing on her lips. "i have reached my decision," she declared, eliciting anticipation from both parties.
with a dramatic pause, jimin pointed at the pot of soup.
"the soup shall be divided equally between minjeong and ningning. case closed."
without another word, the two girls lunged for the bowl. minjeong and ning shoved each other out of the way playfully, trying to get the first taste over the other.
a familiar pair of hands rested on your waist from behind. “we should go before they start fighting again.” jimin whispered against the shell of your ear.
with a small nod, you turned around and rested your hand on your girlfriend’s bicep. “sounds good, babe.” you said aloud with a smile.
“babe?” minjeong shouted in shock, momentarily pausing her food fight with ningning. ning only looked between min and you before she added onto minjeong’s shocked words. “did you just call jimin babe?!”
“we’ll see you two later!” you called out over your shoulder while jimin laughed out loud, still having you on her arm.
i lay in tears in bed all night
alone without you by my side
“ning?” you called out softly, rubbing the back of your neck. “um. do you have a strong concealer?”
the chinese girl looked confused for a second before turning to glance at you before resuming her skincare routine. “yeah, but i don’t think it’s your shade.”
“it’s not for my face.”
ningning paused her skincare routine, her eyebrows furrowing in curiosity as she turned to face you fully. "not for your face? then what do you…"
she couldn’t even finish her sentence because she could see the bright shade of pink on your cheeks. that was enough of a giveaway for her.
“oh.” ning laughed out loud at your current embarrassment. “wait, let me see the hickey. did jimin not listen to you or what?”
you let out a groan, feeling even more embarrassed now that ningning had figured it out. "yeah, jimin got a bit carried away last night," you admitted, trying to hide your blushing face with your hands.
ningning laughed even harder, finding the situation amusing. "well, it happens," she said with a shrug, still chuckling. "don't worry about it. let's see if this concealer can do the trick."
you reluctantly removed your hands from your face, allowing ningning to take a closer look at the hickey on your neck. she leaned in, examining it carefully, and then pulled back with a grin.
"okay, i think the concealer should be able to cover it up," she said, sounding more serious now. "let me work my magic."
you watched with curiosity as ningning applied the concealer expertly, blending it with precision. after a few moments, she stepped back to inspect her handiwork.
"well, what do you think?" she asked, a playful glint in her eyes.
you looked in the mirror and were amazed to see that the concealer had indeed done its job. the hickey was now hidden from view, and you let out a sigh of relief.
"wow, you're a pro at this," you complimented ningning, feeling grateful for her help.
she chuckled. "roommate perks, i guess." you thanked your friend profusely for her assistance and gave her a grateful hug. she patted your back with a smile, happy to have been of help.
"remember to be more careful next time," ningning teased, "or else you'll be wearing turtlenecks to practice all week."
“enough.”
'cause you brought out the best of me
a part of me i'd never seen
“unnie?” ningning whispered softly as she laid on the floor of the practice room with jimin. the two had been running through their choreo together for this month’s evaluation, leaving them both exhausted.
the older girl hummed in response, laying her arm over her eyes. she could feel her muscles aching all over, but being partners with your roommate made the hours of work feel like fun.
“do you love her?”
jimin’s heartbeat quickened at the sudden mention of you. she slowly removed her arm and turned her head to look at the younger girl.
she had never heard such a serious question from the chinese girl before. “i do. why?” jimin answered softly.
ningning's gaze softened as she looked at jimin, her eyes filled with genuine curiosity and concern. she propped herself up on her elbows, mirroring jimin's serious demeanor.
"i can see it, you know," ningning replied quietly, her voice gentle. "the way you look at her, the way you talk about her. it's different. it's like there's a light in your eyes whenever she's around."
jimin's lips curved into a soft smile, touched by ningning's observation. she appreciated how perceptive your roommate was and felt comfortable opening up.
"she is the light," jimin confessed, her voice carrying a mixture of warmth and vulnerability. "i’ve never met someone who just radiates like she does. she’s the love of my life, the sun in my sky."
ningning nodded, a knowing look in her eyes. "i'm glad to hear that, unnie. you two deserve all the happiness in the world."
jimin reached out and placed a hand on ningning's arm, conveying her gratitude. "thank you, ning. it means a lot."
“but unnie?” ningning poked the inside of her cheek, a clear habit she had adopted from you. her eyes met jimin’s in a serious gaze.
“don’t hurt her. ever.”
jimin's expression turned serious as she locked eyes with ningning, fully understanding the weight of her words. ningning was rarely serious like this, so she knew that sentence held an underlying threat as well.
she nodded, her voice filled with determination. "i promise you, ning, i will never intentionally hurt her," jimin vowed, her tone unwavering. "she means everything to me, and i will always strive to protect and cherish her."
ningning's gaze softened, her concern dissipating as she saw the sincerity in jimin's eyes. she reached out and placed a comforting hand on jimin's shoulder.
“good. because if not,” she paused to take a deep breath. “i don’t think i could ever forgive you. i don’t think minjeong would either.”
jimin's heart sank at the seriousness of ningning's words. she understood the depth of their friendship and the trust they placed in her. the weight of that responsibility settled upon her shoulders, and she nodded solemnly.
"i understand, ning. i would never want to jeopardize our friendship or hurt y/n in any way," jimin responded, her voice laced with sincerity and determination. "i will do everything in my power to be the person she deserves, to love and protect her with all my heart."
ningning's grip on jimin's shoulder tightened briefly before she released it, her expression softening. "i believe you, unnie. and i'm here for both of you, always."
jimin smiled gratefully, feeling the support of her roommate and friend. "thank you, ning.”
ningning knew at that moment that there was only one person on the face of this earth who could diminish your light, and she would give anything to make sure that didn’t happen.
but no one could have prepared her for the reality that was pending for your relationship with jimin.
you took my soul wiped it clean
our love was made for movie screens
“have you seen jimin?” you said in a frustrated tone, sitting down on the edge of ningning’s bed.
your roommate woke from her almost-nap and looked at you confused. “no. i thought she was with you?” she said slowly.
she watched your jaw clench before you scoffed and shook your head. “she’s been ignoring me. her and minjeong.”
ningning's eyebrows furrowed in concern as she observed your frustration. she sat up, giving you her full attention. "ignoring you? that doesn't sound like jimin. what happened?"
you sighed, running a hand through your hair. "i don't know. we had plans to meet up yesterday, but she canceled at the last minute, saying something came up. and since then, she hasn't been responding to my messages or calls. even minjeong has been distant."
her expression turned serious as she listened to your words. "that's strange. i've never seen unnie act like this before. maybe something's going on with her. have you tried talking to her directly?"
you nodded, a mixture of frustration and concern evident on your face. "i've tried, but she's been avoiding me. it's like she's intentionally keeping her distance. i don't understand what could have happened."
ningning's eyes narrowed slightly, her protective instincts kicking in. "i'll talk to her. maybe she just needs some space or there's a misunderstanding. don't worry, y/n, i'll figure it out."
you looked at ningning with gratitude, appreciating her willingness to help. "thank you, ning. i don't know what i'd do without you. please let me know if you find anything."
ningning nodded, determination in her gaze. "i promise, i'll get to the bottom of this. you deserve answers."
whatever was happening with jimin and minjeong, ning knew she would uncover the truth.
the memory of the promise jimin made to her in that practice room rang in her mind. jimin would never hurt you. she swore on it.
she spent the whole day looking around for the taller girl and your other best friend, however whenever she saw a glimpse of one or the other, they seemed to immediately make a beeline for the nearest exit out of the room.
ning didn’t like this. she didn’t like how jimin was acting. minjeong never promised anything to her, but jimin did.
jimin promised that she would love you always. this definitely didn’t look like that to her.
ningning's concern for both you and jimin grew with each passing moment. she couldn't shake off the unease that settled in her chest. she knew she had to confront jimin and find out what was really going on.
after a long day of searching, she finally managed to catch jimin alone in the practice room. the moment she walked in, jimin tensed, her eyes widening in surprise.
"ningning? what are you doing here?" jimin's voice held a hint of nervousness, but she quickly tried to compose herself.
ningning crossed her arms, her gaze piercing as she looked at jimin. "we need to talk, unnie. something's not right, and i want answers."
jimin's eyes darted around, avoiding direct eye contact. she knew that you must have told her what was going on. "look, it's not what you think. i just need some time to sort things out."
the younger girl’s voice remained firm as she pressed on, her concern evident. "and what about y/n? she's been worried sick, wondering why you and minjeong have been avoiding her. she deserves an explanation."
jimin's shoulders slumped, and she let out a defeated sigh. "i never meant to hurt her. there’s so much going on right now, ning and i don’t even know what to do."
ningning took a step closer, her voice gentle yet firm. "but jimin, you made a promise to y/n. you promised that you would never hurt her. remember?"
tears welled up in jimin's eyes as she met ningning's gaze, her voice barely above a whisper. "i remember, ning. and i meant every word. i just don’t know what to do anymore."
ningning softened her expression, “what’s going on?”
the taller girl took a deep breath before she answered. “management found out about our relationship. minjeong accidentally told them, and i thought this would blow over but they pulled me in there today and told me i had by the end of the week to decide if i want to stay in the lineup or not.”
“unnie,” ningning's eyes widened in shock as she absorbed jimin's revelation. the weight of the situation became clear to her, understanding the difficult choice jimin was facing. she reached out and gently placed a hand on jimin's arm. “does y/n not know this?”
jimin shook her head, her voice filled with regret. "i haven't been able to bring myself to tell her yet. i wanted to protect her from all of this, but it seems like i've only been hurting her more by keeping her in the dark."
the younger girl squeezed jimin's arm gently, conveying her support. "i understand that you were trying to shield y/n, but she deserves to know the truth. she's worried sick about you, about why you've been avoiding her. keeping her in the dark will only cause more pain."
jimin's gaze dropped, a mixture of guilt and sadness washing over her. "i know, ning. i need to talk to her, to explain everything. but i'm scared of what it might mean for us. i don't want to lose her."
ningning's voice softened as she spoke, her concern evident. "i can't guarantee what the future holds, unnie, but i believe that honesty and communication are key. y/n loves you, and she deserves to know what is going on."
jimin looked up at ningning, her eyes filled with gratitude and determination. she was right. the idol-to-be needed to face the music, regardless of how deafening it was.
but if you loved me
why did you leave me
ningning remembered the way you came back into the dorm silently sobbing. tears down your face and practically gasping for air.
“woah, what’s going on? what happened?” she said as she sprung to her feet, watching as you went straight into the closet and started taking clothes off of the hangers.
“it’s over, ning.”
at that moment time seemed to still, and ningning knew the worst case scenario had come true. jimin had broken her promise, to both her and you.
take my body
take my body
her heart sank as she watched you in your state of anguish. she quickly moved closer, placing a gentle hand on your arm as you continued to remove clothes from the closet.
"what happened, y/n? tell me," she urged softly, her voice filled with concern and a tinge of sadness.
you let out a shaky breath, tears streaming down your face as you spoke. "she broke up with me. she said it's because of the pressure from debut."
her grip on your arm tightened, her own eyes welling up with tears. she couldn't believe what she was hearing. those words didn’t even sound like the same jimin who talked about you like you were the sun in the sky.
she pulled you into a comforting embrace, holding you tightly. "i'm so sorry, y/n." ningning whispered, her voice filled with genuine sympathy. "you don't deserve this.”
you clung to ningning, seeking solace in her presence. the betrayal and heartbreak felt overwhelming, but having your roommate and friend by your side provided a small sense of comfort.
after a few moments, you pulled away and wiped your eyes with the back of your hand. slowly, the feeling was seeping into ningning’s heart. the realization of what you were about to do was hitting her like a ton of bricks.
“y/n, what are you doing?” the chinese girl asked slowly, tears still on her waterline.
with shaking breath and a heartbroken stare, you could only muster up the smallest of voices. the sheer sound of it, and the weight of your words, made your roommate’s heart shatter.
“there’s nothing left for me here, ning.”
no. no. no. you were going to leave. after everything, you were going to just leave.
she was going to be alone again.
all i want is
all i need is
ningning's heart constricted with a mix of fear and desperation as she listened to your words. the thought of losing you, of being alone again, was unbearable. she couldn't let you go through this pain alone, couldn't bear the thought of you leaving.
"you still have me," she pleaded, her voice trembling with emotion. "we'll find a way through this. i'll support you, no matter what. please, don't leave."
tears streamed down ningning's face as she desperately clung to the hope that you would reconsider. she couldn't bear the thought of losing you.
“you are all going to debut, ning. i’m not.” you answered with a sad smile. “you’ve made it, ning. go live your dream.”the chinese girl shook her head rapidly. “no. i’ll remove myself from the group then. i refuse to do this without you.”
“yizhuo.”
ningning felt this feeling before. she felt it when her father left her at the airport in harbin and told her he couldn’t leave with her. and now here she was, reliving that same sinking feeling with you.
to find somebody
i'll find somebody
tears streamed down ningning's face as she fought to keep her voice steady. "i don’t want to be an idol without you."
you looked at ningning, your heart torn between the pain of leaving and staying here. the thought of continuing without your friend felt impossible, but so did giving up on your own dreams.
"you and the others will be the best idols this generation has ever seen," you said, your voice filled with a mix of love and anguish. "you have worked so hard for this, and i can't ask you to give it up for me."
ningning shook her head, her voice filled with determination. "no." she reached out and gently held your hands, her teary eyes pleading with you to understand. "you don’t understand.”
“listen,” your voice wavered at the end as your own tears continued to fall. “i love you more than anything, and just meeting you has made all this time worth it.”
“you’re all i have left, y/n!” ningning sobbed out, hands shaking as she gripped yours. “i have no one else if you go.” she said the last part in a desperate whisper.
ooh, if you loved me
why did you leave me
as ningning's words echoed in your ears, the weight of her desperation and love sank deep into your heart. you saw the fear and vulnerability in her eyes, and how she looked like a scared child.
it broke you.
in that moment, you realized that your decision affected not only your own life but also the life of the person who had become your confidante and your best friend. the thought of leaving ningning behind, and leaving her alone again, felt unbearable.
with tears streaming down your face, you held onto ningning's hands tightly, your voice filled with a mix of sadness and determination. "i can't bear the thought of losing you either. but i have to do this for myself."
ningning's grip tightened on your hands, her voice choked with emotion. "promise me, y/n. promise me that you’ll call me every day, and that you won’t just disappear and turn into a stranger."
take my body
take my body
a sad and small smile appeared on your lips. “oh ning,” you reached out and gave her a tight hug. “you could never be a stranger to me. i’d recognize your laugh anywhere.” you whispered, feeling your roommate’s body racking with sobs.
ningning clung to you, her body shaking with grief. she held onto the memory of your laughter, the sound that brought her comfort and joy. it pained her to imagine a future without your presence, without your friendship.
with every fiber of your being, you wanted to stay and be there for her. but deep down, you knew that you had to follow your own path, to pursue your dreams and find your own happiness.
and even if she couldn’t admit it out loud at the time, ning knew it too.
"i promise, ning," you whispered softly, your voice filled with sincerity. "i'll call you every day. you'll always be a part of my life, no matter where i am."
ningning held onto you, tears soaking your shoulder as she sobbed. "i don't want to lose you, y/n. i don't want to be alone again."
you held her even tighter, trying to provide even an ounce of comfort that she desperately needed. "you won't be alone, ning. you have the girls, and they have you.”
“when do you leave?” she whispered, sniffling against your shoulder. you felt your heart squeeze before you answered her.
“in the morning.”
all i want is
all i need is
her grip tightened, as if she could physically hold onto the remaining moments you had together. she buried her face in your shoulder, her voice muffled by the fabric of your clothes. "i don't want you to go. it's too soon."
you closed your eyes, your own heart heavy with the weight of impending separation. every fiber of your being wanted to stay, to comfort ningning and find a way to make everything okay. but deep down, you knew that you had to follow the path laid out before you.
“you're not losing me. we're just taking different paths for now."
ningning pulled away slightly, her teary eyes searching yours for any sign of doubt or hesitation. she wanted you to change your mind, to stay by her side, but she knew it was futile.
"i'll miss you," she said, her voice filled with a mixture of sadness and longing.
the ache in your chest intensified, the pain of leaving ningning behind becoming almost unbearable. "i'll miss you too."
when the morning came, the moment of departure arrived. the weight of your luggage felt heavier as you stood at the doorway, ready to step into a new chapter of your life.
ningning stood by your side, her face a mosaic of emotions. she reached out and took your hand, her grip strong and reassuring. "remember, no matter where you go or what you do, you'll always have a home here."
a bittersweet smile graced your lips as tears welled up in your eyes. "thank you for being my home, ning."
to find somebody
i'll find somebody
as the car moved through the quiet night, ningning's mind drifted back to memories of you. she closed her eyes and let herself be transported to the moments you had shared, the laughter, the tears, and the deep conversations that had woven your lives together.
she remembered the late-night talks when you would both pour out your hopes and dreams, supporting each other through every twist and turn. she recalled the times you would stay up all night practicing dance routines, pushing each other to be the best versions of yourselves.
the memories flooded her mind like a montage of cherished moments. your smile, your laughter, and the unspoken understanding between you brought a mixture of warmth and sorrow to her heart.
she could still hear the sound of your voice, the way you would whisper secrets and share your deepest fears. you were the person she could turn to for comfort and the one who could make her laugh until her stomach hurt.
ningning's fingers traced the outline of the necklace you had given her for her birthday before you left.
the pendant, a delicate symbol of a butterfly, now rested against her chest, a constant reminder of you.
a single tear escaped ningning's eye, sliding down her cheek. it held the weight of both joy and sadness, the joy of having experienced such a profound friendship and the sadness of the physical distance that now separated you.
but despite the ache in her heart, ningning knew that you were happier now.
with a deep breath, ningning wiped away the tears as the car stopped at a red light. looking over, she almost started sobbing when she saw you and your new group members on a banner.
she remembered how excited you were when you got the call from hybe, and ning couldn't have been happier for you. but she missed you so dearly.
she wished it was sm who had called you instead, and offered to take you back into the group. but she knew that would never happen.
the rain continued to fall, gently tapping against the windows as the light turned green. in the quiet moments of the car ride, she found herself pulling her phone out and finding your contact.
to: y/n/n
congrats on your debut :)
after she pressed sent, she found herself wiping more tears from her eyes, and cleaning off the few that had fallen onto her phone screen during the process.
and as she looked out into the dark, rain-soaked night, a glimmer of hope sparked within ningning. perhaps, someday, your paths would physically cross again, and you would once again be able to share the laughter, the tears, and the unbreakable bond that had defined your friendship.
it was all she wanted then, and it was all she wanted now.

i'm sorry i'm sorry i saw your tag about older brother's best friend aiku and i actually SCREAMED because that's such a thought inducing idea . . . he does have that vibe, and he pulls it off so well !! i feel like he fits the trope of someone you've known your whole life but who was always just a bit too old for you to actually spend time with — until you eventually get a bit older too and start getting closer with him and that's when the fun starts yk lmao
i'm- babes i am looking so respectfully this is SO right 🤕

wc: 1.3k. cw: slightly suggestive, reader is referred to as sister/might be femcoded, this started as a drabble and well.. we're here now, could be dc potential, could just be some pining ꒰ minors/ageless blogs dni ꒱
Tumblr media
you've known aiku since what feels like forever, and he's always had this confident, slightly intimidating aura to him, even back when all three of you were just kids. the age gap between you two wasn't anything crazy, at least not by the time you were both grown adults, but the four years seemed to pose more of a problem back when you were still in school. you were always a bit timid around your brothers friends, palms growing clammy when you'd have to come into his room and call them for dinner or fetch something - but they were only ever nice to you anyway. you were just there, your brother's little sister, perhaps a bit too young to fully understand their jokes or why they're so clumsy when stumbling up the stairs at 3 am. but hey, it's not like you felt bad about it, really.
your brother and his friends were good kids, however - oliver included. never got into too much trouble, always so respectful when coming over and talking to your parents. by the time your brother dropped soccer somewhere in the middle of high school, aiku was already considered a national gem and proudly carried the weight of being japan's hope.
finally about to step into the lifestyle you saw your brother and all his friends engage in for the past few years, you weren't surprised at all to only ever see aiku, the nicest one of the group (the most handsome, too) on the tv screen anymore. he's left for some kind of soccer project, then got scouted by the ubers back in italy, and you truly felt so happy for the boy after everything you've seen him go through. the two of you wasn't exactly close, not at all, but he's always been so kind to you, told you sincere words on how you should never give up your dreams no matter how silly they felt; helped you with the stupid physics project that your brother couldn't figure out for the life of him, either (it runs by blood, after all).
you don't keep in touch with any of the guys, but stumble upon some of them on the streets of your hometown ever so often. you exchange smiles, familiarize each other with what you're up to now, then go off with your day as usual.
(you don't know each of them teases your brother on how well you've grown. he tells them to shut the fuck up every time cause, fuck, the thought alone is gross, and he'd rather kill them than allow you to get involved with either of 'em.)
oliver's the one you see the rarest. it's only natural with his field of work, busier than anything any of you could ever put your minds to. it is kind of funny to see his face on gossip sites, though, so if there's ever any disappointment threatening to build up on you, it works just well to ease it.
the first time you properly meet him again after three or four years is when you just happen to be going through the worst shift you've had in ages, and he's the one most annoying client, casually stepping into the store mere minutes away from closing.
"aiku-kun?" you sound surprised when you make out the familiar features, sharp yet warm eyes flickering under the bright lights when he grins.
he sets the ramune bottle down, pushing it in your direction.
"in the flesh", he chuckles, "you doing night shifts now?" the man asks, almost sounding just as taken aback (one thing he remembers about you is that you've never liked to stay up late, and hated being out when it got dark).
you just give a shrug.
oliver learns you're not silent because you're busy ringing him up or still shocked to see him - you sniff and wipe at your eyes haphazardly and only then does he realize that you're feeling down, and probably cried at the back minutes before he came in.
"they're paying me better for these," you mumble, manicured nail tapping on the register. you don't look up when speaking, too embarrassed to let him see you this messed up when he looks so stupidly handsome. italy treated him well- time, too. "is that a-"
you glance up upon the sound of clinking glass. there's another bottle of soda standing next to his, and it just happens to be your favorite flavor, too.
(he remembered, and as sweet as it is, it's not a big deal. then why are you blushing? why are your palms suddenly clammy, like back in the old times?)
"wrap it up, i'll be waiting outside." oliver offers, thick lashes fluttering as he blinks. almost expectantly, but it's not like he wants to pressure you into agreeing. (it'd be nice, though. and you just happen to be as meek as always, and crumble under the intensity of his gaze instantly - as if that's what his true motive was all along.) "unless you're busy?"
you shake your head, wiping your hands on the back of your jeans. "no, not at all."
you join oliver on a quiet drive down the streets of your neighbourhood, eventually reaching the local view spot that you've spent all too many late nights at - both of you. the only difference's that it's all nostalgia to him, and it's still your very present, a weekly way to hang out - perhaps just following what your older siblings did.
and even though it's your very first time sitting in a car so expensive, the defender's presence is oddly comforting. familiar, in a way, and you only ever realize how much you've missed it when he wordlessly encourages you to open yourself up before him. he's always been so effortlessly charming, inviting in a way - and he still is, even though your heart wants to leap out of your chest when his fingers brush along yours as he helps you push the round marble down.
"so," the brunette clears his throat, "he dumped you over a text?" he knocks the bottle neck of his drink with yours, bicolored gaze seemingly burning through you as he watches you nod.
you hum, taking a sip of the bubbly beverage and looking out the city's panorama. oliver rolls his eyes, rubbing at the nape of his neck and leaning back in his seat.
"that's a real dick move, you know?" he states matter-of-factly, to which you snort, "guys like that don't deserve your tears, kid."
"says who," you quip. from your peripheral, you notice him turn his head back to you. "i've seen the articles, loverboy. m'not sure if you're the best advisor." you tease, cheek resting on top of your bare shoulder as you grin at him.
the man bites back a laugh, canines on show when he smiles to himself and frankly, the sight's making your tummy flutter with an unknown, fairly new feeling, no matter how much you try to ward the butterflies off.
you don't know it yet, and aiku's quite sure of it, actually - there's the exact same sensation bubbling somewhere in his chest, too, when he shamelessly, ravenously takes in the soft glow of your skin, decolletage on show thanks to the tiny spaghetti strap top you're wearing. your eyes are as wide as ever, despite all the burdens and daily struggles simmering behind your affection and interest-blown pupils, and there's this almost dreamy, captivating smile, one that beautifully compliments your now more womanly-like, refined features.
perhaps it's better you don't ever become familiar with the thoughts that start to simmer in his head - you, moaning into his mouth as he steals kisses from those taunting, plush lips of yours, that he's sure currently taste of the artificial sweet pineapple you're sipping on; you, down on your knees in front of him, giving him the same soft, gullible look, on the verge of pleading for all the attention he forwent in the past.
and fuck, he's aware of it - annoyingly so - but oliver has agreed to let go of a few too many things in life already.
you're not about to be one of them, too.

Can you make more of dad Simon and him freeking out wheb he has to be alone with the baby while we ste at the doctors. And he brings the baby boy to side cats bc he is not calming down
Baby boy -Miniminter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Words: 0.6k+
Warnings: none.
In which Simon looks after your baby for the first time by himself, when he’s struggling he goes to the boys for help.
a/n: i love this. enjoy!🫶🏼
Tumblr media
"Ok, the bag with everything he needs is on the table, his lunch is in the fridge and try to put him down for his nap by 2." I said to Simon as I rushed to get my shoes on. We recently became parents to a beautiful baby boy. Simon has been amazing so far but today I have a meeting that I can't miss so he's looking after Oscar for the day. I tried to lay everything out ready for him to attempt to calm his nerves. He knows everything that I told him already but when he gets stressed I know his mind goes blank. "I love you, have fun!" I quickly kissed both of my boys on the cheek then left.
Simon's pov:
"I can do this. Everything is gonna be fine." I tried to reassure myself. I sat on the couch and got comfy, rocking Oscar back and forth gently. After just an hour he began hysterically crying. "Shh, it's ok daddy's here, shh. Please." I pleaded to the small but extremely loud baby in my arms. I've already tried changing his nappy, giving him some of his lunch (he wanted nothing to do with it) and putting him down for his nap a little early but he just continued to cry.
I couldn't call y/n because she's in the middle of a very important meeting. So I text the boys: "guys I don't know what to do he won't stop fucking crying😫" I got a reply almost immediately "we're just about to film for the pod, bring him here?" Tobi text. I sighed in relief "you sure? I don't want him to disturb you" "yes mate, I've been wanting to see him for ages!!" Harry replied. I quickly got myself and Oscar ready, grabbed the bag y/n had thankfully packed for me and left.
The drive felt like torture, I was desperately trying to focus on the road while a screaming baby wiggled in the back seat. When I finally parked up outside the tall building where we film more sidemen and things for side+ I quickly got out and grabbed Oscar from the back. When I got inside I checked in and apologised for the interruption, thankfully everyone was really nice about it. "How can someone this little make such a loud noise?" I thought to myself as the lift came to a stop.
"Hey! I could hear you coming from down the hall." Tobi said once I made it to the office. "Yea." I replied tiredly. "Oscar!" Harry shouted, running up to us "oh nelly. Can I hold him?" He asked. I nodded quickly. Harry gently took him from my arms and went to sit down in the side cast set. He stopped crying. I mentally thanked Harry. "How on earth does y/n do this, she's amazing" I thought. One of the team members brought me a coffee and I quickly drank it as I watched Harry gently rock Oscar. "I never knew you were so good with kids." Tobi spoke to the Guernsey boy. "Yea, before Oscar and Olive came about I assumed you didn't like em." I added. Harry chuckled quietly.
"The girls are gonna go crazy when they see that pod." Tobi said as we left, referring to the fact Harry sat with a baby the entire time we were filming and kept getting distracted by his light snoring. I laughed "one hundred percent." Harry sighed "well I better get home, see you boys tomorrow." I nodded "thank you guys, I seriously don't think I could have gotten through today if it wasn't for you." I said sincerely. "Don't sweat it, we know you'd do the same." Tobi stated.
When I got home I sat with Oscar until y/n got back. The door clicked and then opened "hey! How are my boys?" She said practically dropping everything in her hands. I sighed "good." She cocked her head slightly "not as easy as you thought?" "No definitely not." I replied. She giggled.

Torn into pieces
Tumblr media
A/n: Thank you so much to @ilovehueningbahiyyih for this request ❤️ 🫶 love you 😘
2023 Bill x fem reader
Synopsis: after a breakup with your boyfriend of two years, you get drunk trying to forget at the twin's birthday party, to which Bill ends up having to take care of you.
(Angst)
warnings/ tags: none really, just intoxication
Your POV:
"You're a bitch!" He screamed at me. "Why can't I just ever have a night out without you fucking harassing me?!" I trembled as he neared closer to me, throwing his hands up in pure, unbridled rage. I was sobbing, tears running down my face as he continued his incessant shouting.
"I'm leaving, we're done," He remarked, walking away from me. I gasped in shock. "No! Please! I need you!" I clutched onto him, to which he pushed me off. "Get off, I never want to see you again" He opened the door, slamming it shut once he left. I was crying, screaming, throwing everything around in sight.
That was nearly two months ago, and my pitiful ass still hadn't gotten over it. I tried everything, retreats, therapy, long, late-night talks with friends, and even apologizing to him through multiple texts and calls, which probably didn't help in my case.
Tonight though, I was going to try my best. Bill, one of my closest friends since I met him by accident in twenty-fourteen, was throwing a huge party for him and his twin brother's birthday party. I had to look presentable, even though I felt like complete and utter shit on the inside.
I hadn't told Bill, nor had I planned on telling him at all. I didn't have the heart to tell him another relationship failed, all because of me. I was perusing through the fancy clothing I had, trying to find something that was good enough for a party such as this.
"Yes!" I exclaimed, taking one of the dresses off the rack. It was a beautiful, elegant silky green short dress that hugged and showed my curves, leaving positively nothing to the imagination. I was surprised I even had such a gorgeous item.
(for reference 😍)
Tumblr media
I rushed to grab my keys, phone, a hair tie in case I needed it, and the twins' gift. I opened my car door, starting the engine. Thrill, a tiny bit of fear, and joy were coursing through my veins.
I pulled up the directions on my GPS that Bill gave me, and pulled out of my driveway. It was their thirty-fourth birthday, and I was so happy for them. Maybe this night by itself would be enough for me finally to forget.
I know my ex had most likely already forgotten long ago. I arrived at the party, turning off my car. I had a huge smile plastered across my face, carrying the gift in my petite hands. I walked into the venue, greeted by loud music, the smell of sweat, and a huge whiff of alcohol. They always knew how to throw a bash, though.
I placed my gift at the table where all the others were and made a beeline for the bar. I just wanted to drink, not socialize, and go home. "Hey, can I get a Cuban breeze?" I queried, looking straight at the bartender. "Coming right up miss" He answered. "Thanks," I noticed someone approaching me. It looked like.. Bill? "Hey, you came! Thought you were gonna be a no-show"
He laughed, nudging me in the side gently. I chuckled. "Made a special appearance just for you Billy" I tapped his nose. "Happy thirty-fourth." I hugged him. "Thank you" I pulled away and saw him with a huge grin on his face.
"So, did you guys do anything big and extravagant today? Go to a club, get McDonalds, nails done, anything?" He pondered for a second before he said anything. "Ooh!" He spoke up. "I did get my nails done" He beamed and I gasped. "Let me see! I bet they look just as fabulous as you"
"Oh stop, you're gonna make me blush" He held out his hand for me to see the nailwork. As expected, they look simply stunning. "You need to refer me to your nail tech, they look incredible." I gushed, admiring them. "Thank you y/n" He beamed, taking his hand back. "So, what's the plan for tonight?" I asked, noticing my drink was ready.
I grabbed it and took a sip. "Well," He began. "Mingle with the guests for a little, have some drinks, later on, make a toast, and finally have the cake I've been waiting for all day long" He answered with a huge grin on his face. "Sounds like a great plan" I declared. "I gotta go talk with some more guests, it was great seeing you!" He shouted walking away.
I downed the rest of my drink, ordering more. I needed to get blackout drunk, it would get my mind off of him.
slight time skip
I was about to pass out, I had consumed an ungodly amount of drinks in the past hour. My head felt weak, and my legs were on the verge of giving out as I stepped outside the venue, trying to reach my car. My eyeline of sight went black.
Bill's POV:
It was almost time for me to make the special toast I had been waiting for all night. I was over the moon, until I saw a shaky figure walking out. They looked to be shitfaced entirely, and I became concerned. They managed to get outside, taking a few paces before passing out. "Oh God" I muttered to myself, rushing over to help them.
Pushing my way through the extensive sea of people was not an easy feat. Some forced me to pull them apart as they were so caught up in each other. I finally reached the person who fell, immediately noticing that it was y/n. "Holy shit" I gasped, trying to wake her up. I gently slapped her face. "hey hey hey, wake up" I said worriedly, beginning to try and shake her awake.
Her eyes began to flutter open, and she woke up. I sighed with relief. "You okay?" I asked, holding her in my arms. "I'm so sorry" She whined, burying herself into my chest. "For what?" I questioned, confused. "For getting this drunk" I frowned. "Oh honey it's okay, we all do stupid things sometimes, no need to get upset," I reassured her soothingly, softly rubbing her back.
"Do you know where your car is?" I stood up, pulling her with me. She shook her head. "That's okay. Do you have your keys?" She held her hand up, the keys in her palm. "That's good," I said, taking them and pressing the unlock button. A car beeped in the distance, and I held her under my arm, walking her there.
She stumbled a few times, to which I had to hold her with a firm grip. I finally got to her car, opening the door for her, and placing her in the passenger seat. She fell asleep almost instantly, leaving me to my own devices. I started the drive back to her apartment, I knew the way by heart. I was going to have to call Tom and tell him I was spending the night at y/n's place, but I needed her passcode, and she was in a state of shittiness.
I reached the apartment complex, parked the car, and shut it off. I walked around her side, unbuckling her seatbelt. Her legs wrapped around my waist, her face nuzzling into my neck. I sighed and wobbled up the stairs leading to the small apartment. Luckily, her key to the place was on the chain for her car keys. I fumbled with them for a second, getting the door open.
I laid her body on the couch, going to the kitchen to grab water and some Advil. "Hey you're awake, I got you some medicine and a drink," I said, walking over to her. She mumbled a small 'thanks'. I nodded. "I can sleep on the couch if you want, there's really no point in me going back to the party," I stated. "Yeah that's okay," She said, getting up. "Can I ask why you got so drunk?"
Y/n's POV:
I froze, trying to come up with a half-decent lie. "Well?" He demanded, voice more stern now. I began to fiddle with my fingers, turning so my back was facing him. "I just wanted to get drunk" I blurted out. "That's not the reason, and you know it" I sighed. "Fine, it was because of my boyfriend, happy?" I was angry now, he had no reason to force something out of me that caused me an immense amount of trouble.
"Don't be like that" He scoffed. "Oh please, you asked and I answered. I don't need your shit Bill" I hissed. "Fuck you," He remarked. "I have done nothing but help your sorry ass, and this is how you treat me? Pitiful." Tears began to cloud my eyes. "I'm staying here until the morning, then I'll get out of your life." He uttered. "Bill, wait I didn't mean that-" He cut me off. "No, I'm pretty sure you did, so I'm doing you a favor. Night" He uttered, flopping onto my couch.
I huffed, walking to my room. I felt a tear slip down my face as I curled into my bed. I got too pissed off, and I hurt Bill in the process. It was the alcohol talking, my head was currently still pounding even after I swallowed the pills. I had made him upset on his birthday, of all days.
I loved our friendship, and I'm certain he did too. So I wasn't going to let it die. "Bill?" I called out, walking to the couch. "What?" He murmured. "I'm sorry, I was mad, I shouldn't have said those things to you. I really appreciate you always taking care of me, and making sure I'm safe." I explained. He smiled softly. "Thank you, but what happened with your boyfriend?" He asked, eyebrows furrowing.
"He wouldn't tell me where he was, said I was a bitch for saying something, and that I should leave him alone. Haven't seen em' since." I shrugged. He looked somber. "Aw y/n, that sucks, but he probably wasn't good enough for you" He teased and laughed. I joined, a faint smile pulling at the edges of my mouth.
"Yeah, you're right." I walked over to the kitchen. "But since I pulled you away from your party, how about we have a little toast to ourselves?" I grabbed two glasses and Bill quickly rose from the couch. "Yay!" He exclaimed, rushing over. I poured some champagne in both of them. "To our friendship." I raised my glass. "To new relationships" He did the same, and kissed my lips.
A/n: I'm so sorry yall I pulled this out of nowhere, I've been exhausted these past few days.

To put Lily's media illiteracy on blast I wanna break this down for everybody.
Tumblr media
In order.
The sole positive- saying Marcille is a good character, while true, Lacks any qualifications that contextualize in what way. Notably in that three of the negatives of the show revolve solely around her. Which does contextualize that Lily's love of the character is remarkably shallow, or her hatred of the rest of the show remarkably petty.
The sole neutral- Episodic by itself is, yes, very neutral. Without any qualifications this is about as helpful as saying it's animated. You'd have to know that Lily hates episodic shows to know how this factors into the grade.
The many negatives-
Digimon level pacing is such a specifically vague statement. To understand what she means, know her point of reference is a 25 year old show that has an overall different tone, setting, age range, and story to Dungeon eats.so we're on some big brained or moon brained shit here.
The riff on the shows tone is weird because the show is a dark comedy. The intended experience is the huge contrast of it all. Like what?
The premise of the show is looking at the dungeon in terms of a food chain. The only way there would be a joke about the art quality of the food is if the rest of the show was rendered in Crayon scibbles.
Marcille is also an archetype at first. They all are. She is the snooty elf. They all gain more depth later, but this is not a debate here. The reason she was the butt of all the big jokes is complaining about a necessity of their trip for it's unorthodox nature despite explicitly signing up for it.
Death having consequences would basically destroy the tone and humor. Making the multi-day journey to save falin from permadeath into a bog standard revenge story.
Hey, this series has two sole jokes! Sarcasm aside it is a reductive view. Marrcile is at the butt of the bigger jokes because it's thematically appropriate. She is the most resistant to the reality of their situation. Not to mention that if the marrcile was the sole man in a group of women, the jokes would hit all the same. Not to mention that woe is evenly spread after the first couple episodes, I'd know I watched the whole show.
Lastly "elf torture cliche"? When has that been enough of a thing to be a cliche? I looked it's not even really a trope.
The, albeit very abridged, critique just screams the following, "I did not want to like this show, I have decided it was a waste of time before I even fired up Netflix." Right at dismissing Marcille's suffering as little more than torture of the female lead just because I had known that there wasn't even an attempt at any kind of fair play. It boils down to the show being hardly watchable because it isn't a totally different show, which as an opinion is actually super fuckin valid! Lily, by giving it a grade, claims an authority over it. An authority that equates to flunking a physics major over not being fond of their favorite color.

Non BL Fan watches Only Friends
Hey. Yeah so I'm still on this. So when Only Friends ended, it left kinda of a bitter taste in my mouth. I liked a lot of things about it but by the end it really didn’t leave a good impression. There’s been a lot written about it, about expectations, and branded pairs, and how fandom may have played a role in this, and how the writing maybe because of that kinda took a turn midway through the show. And it kept bugging me that these opinions were also rooted in our understanding of this type of media, and everything that comes with it. Be it branded pairs, all the bls that came before or the industry as a whole. But I couldn't really have any perspective because I'm part of the problem. I'm too close. So, the only way for me to kinda get over this was to get someone far removed from this to watch it. And here is where my friend Neely comes in. They're not a bl watcher. The only bl they ever watched was Choco Milk Shake which I think we can all agree would not influence their viewing of Only Friends. They are however the only person who I talk to about bl, or the only person who has the patience to listen to me, whenever I’m feeling particularly annoyed about something or just wanna share a good moment. I immediately sent them the olive oil scene (with only a tiny bit of context) because it was so beautiful that I needed to scream with someone about it. So anyway, I asked them to watch the show. They knew a couple of things about it, because I complained to them about it at the time, but they has no reference for it so, I don’t think that I influenced the viewing that much. Also they're pretty unbiased about everything.
So last night they watched the first 4 episodes and I’d like to share their thoughts with everyone who like me might be curious. Because they're the best person ever, he wrote a whole text about it so I could share. Also we're almost at the end of the year and this might be the thing that finally closes this chapter for me. This is what they had to say after watching the first 4 episodes.
(I'll be adding my own thoughts in purple)
After 4 episodes, mostly I think it's really predictable plot wise for anyone who's watched a general TV western series, like a Netflix production, which I was maybe surprised. The ways to cause drama and plot advancement are very similar. Of cpurse this is me saying this based on the other BL I watched (Choco Milk Shake) which felt much more out of the expected canon.
Just to get this out of the way: they're all toxic and terrible people, to the extent I find it very hard to connect to any of them. Just in the exposure parts of ep1 there's all of them being horrible to Ray for being drunk – even though they also are? - and to top it up later on they're all drunk, and the woman (sorry I should know her name but it's not like they're giving her any storyline or screen time (aside from, I almost forgot, randomly spraining her ankle 😂) for me to remember) I thought that the fact that this was obvious to them from the beginning was very interesting because I maybe gave them more rope in the beginning to expand on her because I thought she was gonna get more later. she's even drunker it seems but they all fall on Ray only; they literally complain he wants another drink and judgementally go "ewww more drinks don't you think it's enough" and dig into his drinking, he leaves, and then they continue drinking? This got even darker to me when the suicide attempt is revealed, and from then it became really hard to consider them friends? Maybe Mew and Ray but the dynamics of that are anyway weird. This is something I myself struggled with all through the show, like how are these people even friends? and I understand the point illustrated by @bengiyo in this post but I still couldn’t get over that. And maybe that’s just the way I see friendships that these people looked even worse in my eyes. Like I cannot compute them treating Ray like that, even if they're done of his drinking, when they know where he's at emotionally. It also doesn't feel they ever tried to help him so I don't think they have the right to be done, just feels like they don't care.
Top, toxic from day one with this challenge attitude towards fucking the virgin; and the gross way he speaks about it with Boston. It's a big no from me to both of them. It's not even them hooking up for me, Top is just kinda sleazy, manipulative, hyper entitled, I do not take anything he says as truth because he just feels so double faced to me. Even just these episodes he's already shown so many cracks: hiding the hook up with Boston (which I'm beginning to feel was more than a hook up?), the whole random drug dealing thing, how he objectifies Mew like a virgin-trophy when talking to Boston, how he manipulates him and also his weird jealousy and control. Ok, this is where I admit I was completely wrong. I thought that way of seeing Top was very influenced by the promotional material and the way the crew and actors talked about the character. And yet, without any prior knowledge he immediately disliked him. I was not expecting that to be honest. And in this case maybe I just wanted the character to go in a different direction so I kept not seeing the pretty obvious red flags. I mean I saw them but tried really hard to look behind them. My bad. Although we could both agree that he’s gorgeous.
I don't like Mew, but I don't think it's the characters fault or how it's written. It's just the troupe of character writing, especially in gay shows, that I can't stand. It's kinda cancer vibes (astrology lol). A bit not necessarily overt but a general sense of holier than thou cause he's a virgin and "has standards". I don't think he's leading Ray on, I think he actually kinda communicates well he just wants friendship. He could be clearer but also this is TV, so we need slight unclearness for drama purposes lol, but I'm not mad about that. Miss communication is the bane of my existence but it apparently makes for compelling television. Or not.
But generally this hot fuck everyone guy falling for the kinda dorky virgin is so dull to me, this virgin is always this weird insert of purity, more often than not an insert where the writer in one way or another projects himself into, to be able to judge the rest of the community, the moral compass (read: normative in terms of society expectations, also kinda mildly Christian coded, like girl next door in the village), and I do always find it a bit queerphobic. I'm not saying there aren't queers like that and that they shouldn't be represented, but the very intense and obvious writing decisions to position him as this moral center (also visually he's always wearing whites and pastels? Virgin mew, Virgin Mary! Lol) that makes all the other characters, often queer, seem kinda dirty and mean and unprincipled. I have nothing to add here because I agree with them on most of this, and I also think that it was never a coincidence to have a virgin in the middle of this group, to serve as the barometer of right and wrong. Cause he's the pure one so he must know what's right. I disliked mew almost instantly when the show started, because I always thought he was just a terrible friend and that’s the greatest sin of all. A small note that I think it's hilariously dumb that he's been protecting his Virginity for all this time and so like "omg it's hard for me, omg I go slow, omg I have a check list" and then it's like "you drop coke I drop pants", virginity done lol. This was just funny and accurate.
I am not talking about Boston right now cause I hate him. And I also hate that they wrote the slut in such a cliche but I do think they did. I remember you saying something people attacking him too much and him being slut-shamed, but he's written as villain quite clearly. Lol I think he's leading mobile phone shop guy on, it's very player manipulation vibe to be always giving him just a bit more to keep him going and the promise of something more open, when we know he just wants to fuck, and especially fuck when he's butt hurt about Top and Mew. And the way he's treating Mew, terrible friend; and also the advances on Top are far from boundary and consent-based lol. But also Top doesn't feel very interested in getting out, he just weirdly stands there silent being licked in the neck, so I blame both on that whole thing. I have to say that I never really read the shower scene like others might have, like obviously Boston was being terrible to Mew in that moment and not respecting Top's boundaries, but I also didn't see Top as helpless in this moment.
I think the only pair that gets away with actually being cute and not toxic and manipulative is Sand and Ray, they're my faves. Yey!! I find them very endearing and with so much chemistry. They're the only characters who honestly genuinely said sorry to each other and had some accountability when they fucked up with each other.
Even tho I'd like a bit more from Sand about the whole "burden to society" comments at the start - they annoyed me so much. The others it's manipulation after manipulation for me, and it doesn't allow me to get into them so it feels like deep lack of chemistry. Top and Mew's relationship feels really really really meh to me. And I don't know why they're friends, also cause very little of them as friends gets shown after ep1. Well they have the school project that keeps them together but other than that really, why? As I explained above I really struggled with the friendship aspect of all this.
But generally, I feel like the editing and writing are very like Mew is amazing and the others are horrible, and we do just get scenes of everyone being shit and Mew not being great but being naive and cutesy with a hint of superiority. Also you're a virgin your not a thumb stone, give your boyfriend a kiss sometimes. I thought this comment was hilarious but also obviously from a non bl watcher because that didn’t register to me, because I’m so used to boyfriends being so shy around kissing in bl that it didn't even cross my mind.
I think I'm slightly meh by all of them but partly is maybe my expectations too - I knew this one specifically was a bit westernized, but I was nurturing this little idea that it would feel a bit different, that some of the ways things were explored would feel different because of the cultural differences, but I do think you could sub all of the actors for white us-americans and the script would fly, you could probably even set it in a progressive state in the us and wouldn't have to re-write much.
So, I might totally be talking out of my ass, but what I'm left thinking is: is there really no culturally specificity to queer community there? is really all queerness and promiscuity in Thailand this performance of the west? Maybe it is, because of different social rules and expectations and freedoms, I really am not knowledgeable enough, but I'm just wondering if it's that or if it's just being made to be more palatable to me. And I think that's fine as a choice for them to know target audience, but I'm left wondering how the actual scene is in Thailand, what the social pressures are there and how they navigate them, specifically at this nexus of queerness and promiscuity. I also don’t know enough about the culture in Thailand to speak about it but I do agree with the point that this show could be made in us tv and they really wouldn’t need to change much. Without knowing anything about the creators of ofts, aside from the fact that they’re queer, they said later that they would compare it to something that Ryan Murphy could produce.
_
After I read this I had a chance to video chat with them briefly , and there were a couple more things that came up that I thought were really interesting. they were asking me about the actors and how well known they were, etc. Because they thought that the characters were purposefully being shown as really flat, and just bad with no redeemable characteristics and that maybe because the fandom already knew them and already liked them, they could do that without needing to waste time making us care for them, by giving us their good sides. Which I never really considered, but as with most things, our prior knowledge might play a part in this too. I know at least for me, I'm not gonna lie, the fact that I like Khaotung definitely made me care for Ray from the start in a way that maybe I wouldn't normally have.
Anyway, they'll continue to watch it and I'll probably post more of thoughts in the future. I also started to rewatch it slowly so I'll definitely keep thinking about this. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. 💜

5 years old...
jisung played in the the garden of dawn court palace, chasing a butterfly around in the garden. "ow!" he heard a scream , then crying. he got up , following the noise. he came across a girl his age, that he's never seen before.
he approached , standing over your body. "are you okay?" you looked at him through your lashes, tears in your eyes. "i..i hu..rt my knee." you sobbed holding your leg. "let me see." he bent down, you stared at him in suspicion, your wings wrapping flapping behind you. "i..i do..n't know you." he proudly huffed his chest. "i'm han jisung, im gonna be the highlord of dawn court. you smiled, sniffling. "i'm _." he waved. "now you know me, let me see your leg." you moved your hand. "you're bleeding." he grimaced.
"what are you gonna do?" the boy put his hand on your knee, healing it. "see it's better." he helped you up. "wow! how did you do that?" you dusted off your dress. "i have powers, you don't?" you showed him your wings. "i can fly." you started levitating, but you were quickly picked up, immediately recognizing your father. "what have me and your mother told you." you giggled. "no flying until my wings are stronger." he put you down.
"dad i healed her leg." jisung pointed. "see she was bleeding now she isn't." jisungs father chuckled, high fiving him. "good job." "i see they've met already" jisungs father talked to yours. "me and your dad have been friends since we were kids too." "my daddy is gonna protect your daddy, that's what he told me." jisung didn't like that. "my daddy doesn't need protection, he's the high lord." you frowned. "that's why he needs protection, duh." the two older men laughed at their children.
"they're gonna be bestfriends."
10 years old...
"we're gonna get married one day." you stared at your friend in disgust. "no we won't." you said eating your sandwich in one of dawn court gardens. "mhm, today in class i learned about mating bonds, and we're gonna be mates." he took a bite of his sandwich.
"you don't choose your mate jisung, it just happens." you explained. "well, then it has to happen." you shook your head. "that's not how that works." he shrugged. "i don't care, i'll make it work."
"we're gonna get married."
17 years old...
"you start training to be a high lord soon." you frowned, sitting at the same spot you once met when you were five. "and my mom says i need to start attempting to find my mate." jisung heart stung at the mentions of your mate, but he ignored it.
"what if we don't have time for each other?" he saw the worry in your eyes. "hey." he grabbed your hand. "we won't let that happen, i swear." you leaned your head on his shoulder, his head rested on yours. "swear?" you held out your pinky, he grabbed your finger.
"i swear."
now...
"i can't believe this!" you and your dad stared at each other rolling your eyes. "good morning mom." you thank the kitchen staff who sat the food on your plate. "my daughter is gonna die alone." she was being dramatic. "wow, way to still have hope." you scoffed, taking a bite of your toast. "you're 23, soon to be 24, and you still haven't found your mate, oh no! what if he's illryan , or worse human." you turned to your dad for help.
"honey, please, she still has time." you shrugged, smirking getting an idea. "you know mom you're right, he could be human or illryan." your mom gasped. "or worse, i could say no, and we'll watch as the faerie slowly go insane." your mom looked like she was about to pass out. "_, enough." your dad silently fistbumped you.
"i'm glad you both find this amusing." the housing staff came over to give her the morning tea she'd always drink. "drink this and calm down." mrs.kim said.
"oh! what about jisung, didn't he use to say you'd get married one day." your eyebrow quirked up. "oh yeah, you'd use to say no all the time, that you were just friends." you said. "what about him? it's been what 5 years, we aren't friends anymore." you said. "why, did you two fight?" your mother said.
"uh no, he got busy with training, and i moved on to finding new friends." you turned to your dad. "how has he and his family been, you see his dad almost everyday?" you questioned. "he's preparing for his move up to highlord." you nodded. "has he found someone." you looked down at your fingers.
you didn't mean to fall off with jisung, but he became invested in his training, and you became a second thought, so you distance yourself, finding some new friends, and branching out finding yourself.
"no he hasn't actually, his father was just telling me his wife was also hounding him about finding his mate and be wed." your mother spoke up again. "you need to meet him and wed, i don't care if he isn't your mate, you'll eventually love each other." you shook your head. "i have to meet haechan and karina to go dress shopping, i'll see you guys later." you stood up.
"that donghyuck boy is the reason you won't marry, always hanging around him." you rolled your eyes, walking aways. "if my mate is scared of haechan, then we can't marry, that's my platonic soulmate." you fluttered your wings, making your dad yell, "no flying in the castle, you'll break something."
"she's at it again?" haechan asked as you walked through the shops looking for a dress with karina. "this time she blames haechan." the boy was offened. "i thought she liked me." he exclaimed. "oh she does, she just also believes you're the reason why i haven't found my mate yet." karina laughed. "funny, my mom thinks the same thing." she picked up a dress. "wow, im offended."
"what about this?" you shrugged. "it's alright." the girl huffed. "it needs to be perfect or my mom is gonna flip, you know how she isn't when we don't look the best. "well what is it for?" haechan said. "i told you, jisung is having a court party tomorrow night, he's planning on courting a wife, aren't you gonna be there?" you weren't even aware of the party.
"yeah, aren't you friends?" haechan said. "i always thought you two would be wed, you spent every day together, i thought you were dating, with the way your wings would flap like they do when you like someone." you slapped haechans shoulder. "they don't do that, and i haven't talk to jisung in like 5 years."
"yeah then what about jen- it wasn't because of that, and we agreed to not speak about it." you interrupted. "well anyway, you have to come, i mean your dad is his dad's second in command, it will be weird if you don't come."
you thought about , should you go?
"what did you do?" jisung stared at his parents in disbelief. "son i had nothing to do with this , this was all your mothers doing." he turned to mother.
"what else was i supposed to do, you're about to become highlord soon , you need someone to help you run dawn court , your dad didn't find me until after he became high lord and the first three years while he was in reign were horrible." jisung's dad sat there offended. "love you too honey."
"that's not what i mean, what i mean is you need someone by your side while you rule." jisung couldn't believe his mother. "a courting party , you thought that was a good way to go?" she nodded.
he scoffed , "what's the harm in even trying , who knows , what if your mate is at the party." he scoffed. "i've given up in trying to find them a long time ago." his dad spoke up. "i always thought it would be _."
"_?" he hadn't heard that name in such a long time.
"yeah, the way you'd go around screaming that you'd one day marry her." jisung cringed at his younger self. "she was such nice girl , what happened to you guys anyway?" he shrugged. "we grew up, i haven't seen her like 5 years, im pretty sure she's dating haechan." his mother hummed. "her poor mother haechan is a lot, that's too bad."
jisung had to get out of there, making his way into town, making his way through all the shops, stopping to talk to the towns people, his parents his mother was gonna make him lose his mind about the party, a party that he didn't even want. jisung was fine without a mate , he never felt like he needed one after he met you , he always thought you two would just platonically be together for eternity. of course he looked at other girls , but he never saw a long future with them— because he had you.
but then you both drifted apart and he just didn't care about the whole mate or wedding thing. jisung didn't know why he stopped reaching out , now he's about to find his new wife , become highlord—it's all moving faster than he could handle , he wished he still had you to talk about, he wished he had his bestfriend.
jisung was caught in his thoughts, he hadn't realized he was walking straight into someone , until it was too late. "ow!" he remembers that high pitched cry of pain.
"_?"
you looked up at the person who pushed you down. "jisung." he helped you up. "h..holy shit, it's you." he wanted to hug you, but he knew that might've been weird. "jisung, hi."
"shit, im an idiot, are you okay?" you nodded , brushing yourself off. "this was nothing, i've taken harder falls." he laughed. "yeah, remember when you fell down the steps after trying to fly." you pouted. "you promised not to bring it up." you laughed. "im sorry." there was a silence, jisung stared at you- when did you get so pretty?
you let out a cough , and jisung's face turned red, knowing he'd been caught staring. "h..gow have you been?" he stuttered "good, you, i heard you're having a courting party coming up." oh my god , who told you. "my mom planned it without my knowledge." he said. "your mom is at too, my mom has been hounding me." you said.
"you want to know something funny , my mom told me she thought we'd end up together." your laugh, made his heart beat faster. "m..my mom said the same thing." he laughed. "i guess we really did spend all our time together, now you're about to be wed, and im- where have you been." haechan interrupted you guys. "karina is freaking out , she needs our to impress her mother." you sighed, jisung was upset , he didn't want you to go.
"well i guess, i have go help, i hope to see you soon." he nodded, and you turned to walk away. "wait." he stopped you. "a..are you coming to the party tomorrow." was he asking you to come. "i mean both of you can come if you want." he said. "cool bro, we'll be there." haechan said. "sure sungie, we'll be there." he couldn't help but smile at the old nickname.
"great , i'll you there- you both i mean." his ears were red. "okay, bye." you waved , as haechan dragged you away, jisung was so happy you were coming to the party, so happy that he wasn't even upset with his parents anymore , he's just glad he gets to see you again.
"mrs.kim be honest." you stood in the mirror as the older lady helped you get ready. "does this dress look good?" you spent all rest of the day before dress shopping with karina and haechan. "i think it's beautiful." she tied it up in the back. "but i can't help but wonder what's with sudden change of mind, yesterday you showed no interest in the party, now you're stressing?"
"karina has infiltrated my brain i guess." you lied, you were just excited to see jisung. he really did grow into his looks, all the training payed off too, his buff arms , small waist, he really matured in the best kind of way. "mrs.?" mrs.kim bought you back from your weird thought about your old friend. "huh?" you said. "i said you're done , your families carriage should be here soon to take you guys to the party." you nodded , face hot from the thought.
"okay, you got this, it's just jisung , i mean you've knewn him his whole life, it's nothing." you sighed, but why did you kind of hate the fact it was under these circumstances, that you'd be seeing him?
"dude, this is the third suit , i think they're all fine." felix watched his friend pace back and forth, he had come all the way from day court to the party. "jesus you're a wreck, i thought you didn't want this party anyway." jisung fixed the robe to his suit. "i didn't." he said. "what changed your mind?"
you did, he was so excited to see you again, you definitely didn't look the same as you did 5 years ago, you lost all the baby fat from your face, your figure was enough to make anyone stop and stare, not to mention your boo—"you there?"
felix tapped his friend who drifted away. "y..yeah, i'm sorry, i guess i don't want to disappoint my parents, they're really looking forward to this night, well my mom is." he lied, hoping his friend didn't notice his red face. "you'll do fine, you'll find your future wife tonight and in a week you'll be sworn in as highlord, it's finally happening bro, your life is just beginning." why did he feel like it's about to end.
you and your family stepped out your carriage, greeting everyone outside, before making your way inside, you were met at the door by the han family. "my lord, my lady" you bowed. "_, look at you, you're grown into such beautiful woman." you thank, ms.han. "soon we'll be having one of thess for her." you roll your eyes at your mother.
"hey!" you seen haechan and karina waving you over, you turned to them. "if you'll excuse me, it was nice seeing you guys." you bow, turning to walk away.
"you look good." haechan complimented. "i would've taken the compliment had you'd been looking at the outfit and not my boobs." he smiled cheekily. "can't blame me, they're sitting up perfectly." karina scoffed. "are you serious?" he shrugged, you shook your head at the boy. "let's go get something to drink."
"_?" you turned upon hearing your name. "hey jisung." he was stunned, you looked gorgeous. the way the dress fit you, it had him thinking about your figure once again, your curves the way the dress made them pop, the color was perfect against the iridescent color of your wings— your boobs, he didn't mean to look, but the way they sat , he couldn't help it. "jisung?" you waved a hand in his face. "kinda lost you there?" you laughed.
"whoa, you look beautiful." you smiled. "you don't look so bad yourself." you weren't wrong, he looked good the way the suit fit around his arms, the corset attenuated his waist. "t..thank you." he stuttered. "are you having fun?" you nodded. "you know i've never been a fan of big parties." he nodded. "me either."
he was about say something when both your mothers approached you. "it's great to see you two together, but in order for this to work, you actually have to talk to other faerie girls." his mother grabbed his arm, dragging him away. "and at least try and to talk to other guys, jisung's mother just asked when are you and haechan gonna be wed." you scrunched your nose up in confusion. "why?" you laughed. "that isn't funny, go mingle." you turned to jisung who was talking to a brunette faerie from summer court, you frowned.
as the night went on, the party grew, different faeire girls approaching jisung, he didn't find any interest in them, he kept looking at you, you spent half the time dancing with haechan or karina, he couldn't help but wish he was the one dancing with you.
like right now, he was supposed to be talking to the day court faerie felix introduced him to, but he was too busy scanning the room for you , he had noticed you were no longer there. "dude, what the hell, that's the 3rd faerie i introduced you to that you've completely ignored." felix snapped his fingers in his face. "i..i need some air, i'll be back, if my mom comes looking for me, tell her i've gone to the restroom." he walked away from the confused boy.
it was starting to get crowed, so you found yourself wandering around the castle, until you came to the spot where you and jisung once spent all your time together. "i guess we had the same idea." you recognized the voice, smiling. "i guess so." you moved over , so he could sit next to you.
"we used to spend all day out here." he said. "it was our spot." his body froze as you put your head on his shoulder, quickly calming down. "this is where you promised to marry me." he cringed. "i was 10, and you rejected me." he laughed. "now look at you, finding your bride to be." his heart stung, he didn't want to, he wanted to be with you, you were his forever.
"_?" you stared up at him through those pretty lashes, he couldn't help it, he brought his hand to your face. "sungie what are- hmph ." he pushed his lips against yours, and it was like everything clicked together.
"i knew it." he mumbled against your lips, you laughed, pulling away. "you had to ruin it." you slapped his shoulder. "did i?" he pulled you into another steamy kiss, pushing his tongue into your mouth, tongues fight for dominance. "j..jisung." you moaned as he kissed along side your jaw. "jisung , i need you." your eyes were blown out , lips swollen from his rough kisses, you looked so beautiful.
he reached his hand up your dress, touching you were you needed him. "you're so wet." he tapped your swollen clit, you whined. "been thinking about you all night." he smirked, rubbing circles against your clit. "have you, naughty girl." he pulled your panties to the side. "been thinking about you too, every since yesterday." he took your hand, placing it at his hard cock. "y..you feel how hard i am baby, you've really grown up." he moaned as you massaged him through his pants.
"f..fuck baby i can't cum in my pants." he unbuttoned his pants, you pulled his cock out from his pants, running your finger over his aching tip. "that's it pretty girl -shit- jerk me off." he added another finger, speeding his pace.
it was lewd, both of you basically getting each other off, in the secret spot of the castle, but you both didn't care, all you cared about is getting your releases, your's which was quickly approaching.
"j..jisung, i..im gonna cum." you moaned, grinding against his hand. "you gonna cum for me, being a good girl and cum for me." he brought his hand up to your boobs squeezing them, running a finger over your nipple. "fuck!" you gasped, cumming on his fingers. "good girl, grind down on my hand." he rode out your high.
"f..fuck princess, the party, they're probably looking forus." you quickly sped up your movements, he bucked up against your hand. "are you cumming sungie?" you purred in his ear, he closed his eyes nodding. "cum for me." you whispered in his ear. "k...kiss me please." you pulled him into a messy kiss, he moaned into the kisses, cumming into your hand. "ngh!"
you brought your cum covered hand, to your mouth, licking it clean. "fuck you're perfect." he pulled you into another kiss. "there was no way you were my mate." you smiled, before everything came hitting you full force. "the party." you exclaimed. "shit we have to go." he tucked himself away, and you both tried to fix yourselves, before separately making your way back to the party.
jisung frantically tried to find his mother, to tell her what happened, that he found his mate. "mom!" he finally found her. "mom!" he ran up to her. "great heavens where have you been, i've been looking everywhere you!" she exclaimed.
"that's not important listen it's about the arra- don't worry , it's been settled, you are to be to married to yoojung of summer court." he shook his head no, but she wasn't even listening, presenting a girl in front of him. "this is yoojun." the girl in front of him bowed. "w..wait mom- enough it's been talked about between the parents already." the older lady tapped on the glass , getting everyone's attention, the girl stood close to him , he moved over, his eyes turning to you , he could hear his heartbreaking at the look in your eyes.
it felt like someone was stomping on your heart, as you watch jisung's mother gather everyone, the brunette standing next to jisung signaling it was too late, you both were too late. "everyone we have found the future lady of dawn court, yoojung." everyone began to clap, except you and jisung, he was staring directly into your eyes, almost like he was begging for you to tell him your next move. you shook your head no, and frowned, you both knew it was too late.
you wiped the tear that fell from your face, as someone touched your shoulder. "hey, where have you been?" haechan and karina walked up to you. "oh uh, i went to get some air." karina looked into your eyes. "wait, have you been crying?" you shook your head, laughing. "happy tears, my bestfriend is getting married." you lied straight through your teeth. "ah that makes sense." haechan hugged you. "it's okay, you still have us." you shook your head. "yeah i do." you pulled away.
"im gonna go find my parents, they're probably trying to sneak out of here, my mother will be pissed if she doesn't get to sleep on time, you know how she is." they nodded saying there goodbyes, you just do desperately wanted to get out of there, quickly making your exit.
"_, wait!" jisung ran after you, grabbing your wrist , stopping you. "we can stop this." he grabbed your hand. "jisu- it's nice to meet you." yoojung held her hand out. you had no bad blood, but you damn sure didn't want to give her a handshake. "say hello." your mother snuck up behind you. you put on your best fake smile, holding your hand out. "it's nice to meet you too." your mother smiled. "isn't it exciting." ms.han walked over. "definitely, congratulations jisung." your mother said.
"are you guys leaving?" you mother answered. "yes, we must leave now." she said. "oh well will you be there when our jisungie is sworn in as highlord?" you prayed your mother said no, but it seems like whoever above was out to get you. "of course, after that is the wedding right." his mother squealed in delight. "of course."
jisung bit his lip, he so desperately wanted to say something, he wanted to put a stop to this, but all he could do was look into your sad eyes, as you walked away with your parents.
"everything alright dear, you seem out of it?" your father asked you as you began to walk up the steps to your room. "im fine." you said. "just really tired." he smiled. "well goodnight, see you in the morning." you nodded, continuing on your way to your room, just ready for the day to be over.
for the next week that's all everyone could talk about, it's like you couldn't escape the talk over jisung marriage and him becoming highlord soon. "im sorry girl, this must sting like hell." karina said after you told her everything. "your mate getting engaged to someone else." it did sting like hell, it felt like being stabbed with knives in the stomach.
not as much as your mother forcing your blinds open on the day of his sworn in. "i don't know what's gotten into you, but you're not gonna mope around here any longer, today your bestfriend will become highlord, with his fiance by his side you should be happy." was she trying to kill you. "now get up it's much to get done before tonight." she pulled you out of bed, forcing you to get ready for tonight.
"jisung did you hear me?" yoojung clapped in his face. "huh?" she sighed. "i said are you excited for tonight, you become highlord." he nodded unenthusiastically. "yeah of course." the boys really didn't care about that, the only thing on his mind for the past week was you, he missed you, it seems like the week you were away hurt more than the entire 5 years you weren't talking ever since he found out you were his mate.
"is everything okay?" yoojung held his hand, but it didn't feel like yours. "i'm fine." he took his hand away. "i'm gonna go see if everything is settled for tonight." he walked out the room, leaving the girl.
"why do i have to wear this?" you groaned as your mrs.kim tightened the corset of the dress. "i can't breathe." you winced. "you can breathe later." your mother said. "i don't really want to go." you sat down, letting them put the shoes on since you could barely move. "well suck it, you're going and you're gonna smile." your mom sternly spoke. "got it?" you faked smiled just to piss her off. "we'll work on it."
"jisung, the guest are sitting, you ready?" yoojung walked into his room. "i guess, let's do this." he reached his arm out so she could take it. "no." she said. "what is it?" she sighed. "im not stupid, i know you don't want to marry me." she said. "i'm sorry it's just- that you've found your mate, your bestfriend." he was shocked. "don't be shock it's not like it was hard to see." she said. "i'm sorry." he spoke up after a few seconds of silence. "don't be, i'd rather know now, then be caught in a love affair later down the rode." he laughed. "what are we gonna do?"
"well you are gonna man up to your mother, and tell everyone the wedding is off and that you've found your mate, and im gonna go back to summer court and hopefully i find my mate too." he smiled, finally giving her a genuine smile. "i wish you nothing but the best." she smiled back.
"you too han jisung."
the sworn in was long and boring; not to mention jisung looked so good, and it didn't help your poor heart everytime he turned to look at you. soon the sworn was over and everyone stood and bowed to the new highlord of dawn court, clapping.
"that thing was fucking boring." haechan complained at the party after. "god i would die if i had to do that." karina snickered. "dawn court would be in ruins if you were highlord." you watched them go back in forth with each other, shaking your head.
"h..hello." jisung stood up to get everyone's attention. "well first, i want to thank everyone for coming." he started. "but there's something else i wanted to talk about about." he said, looking at you. "what are you doing?" you mouthed. "the wedding is off." mumbles of 'what's' filled the ballroom. "jisung wha- no mom i need you to listen to me, for once" he said.
"the wedding is off, because i found my mate finally." he looked directly at you, you felt the stares on you. "after all this time, i've found my mate, it's been staring me in the face since i was five years old." he laughed. "and i won't be able to be happy if she isn't by my side, i let her go for 5 years and im not ready to let her go again." it was silent, nobody said anything. "i love you." you spoke up, he smiled. "i love you too."
"jisungie, im so sorry i didn't listen to you, i just wanted what was best for you." ms.han spoke up. "i found what's best for me." he said. "i know, she'll make a wonderful bride." he nodded. "i know."
once the initial shock went away, the party actually started , your mother was practically in tears when she ran up to you. "my baby won't marry a human or haechan." which the boy was very offended by. "she does love you, i promise." you reassured the boy , jisung came up to you , wrapping his arms around you.
"hi." he whispered into your neck. "hello." you smiled. "get a room, no one wants to see that." haechan gagged. "yoojung is free, why don't you try and talk to her." you said. "fine, only because i don't want to be a third and karina has ditched me." he walked away.
"yoojung is gonna love him." han took your hand. "let's go." you looked at him confused. "go where?" he smirked. "to get a room." you scoffed. "seriously at your party?" he cocked his head to the side. "didn't stop us before." your face heated up, remember the the night of the party. "let's go."
he guided you to his room , away from everyone. "i got you all to myself." he pushed you down on the bed, hovering over you. "my pretty mate." he whispered in your ear, grinding his clothed erection against your heat. "j..jisung, please." you let out a breathy moan. "i..i need you inside me."
he stood up, undoing his pants, letting them fall to his ankles, he pushed your dress up on your hip, pulling your panties down. "such a pretty pussy, can't wait to taste it." he rubbed his cock, up and down your cunt, teasing your clit. "pl..lease n..no teasing." he cursed under his breath. "you're so cute begging for me to fuck you." he pushed his tip into your clenching hole.
"w..want me to fill you up, fuck you full." you nodded. "p..please- shit! " you moaned as he pushed fully into you. "s..shit, been waiting to feel you since the party." he rocked his hips , fucking into you. "s..sungie, please- faster." he held your hips as he fucked you at a animalistic pace. "f..fuck baby, i don't think i can last with you clenching around me like that."
"fuck jisung!" you screamed as rutted into you, your high was approaching quickly. "jisung, im gonna cum!" he groaned, his head dipping into your neck to leave little marks. "so -shit- your mines, your body is mines." he repeated in your ear. "who's pretty pussy is this." you were a moaning mess, coil in your abdomen about to snap. "answer me." he hit particular spot, making you yelp. "yours it's yours!" you screamed.
"good girl, now you can cum." he kissed your lips, you came with a cry of his name. "that's it, -fuck! im gonna cum." his thrust became more frenzied as he chased his own high. "ngh, fuck!" he came with a string of curse words and your name.
"i don't want pull out just yet, i just want to stay here with you." he layed on top of you. "we have to go back to your party." he pouted his lips, you kissed them. "okay just a little longer." he smiled at his success, and you two sat there is silence for a while before , he let out a little chuckle. "what's so funny."
"i told you that i'd marry you one day, and you didn't believe me, now look at us."

Hi! I know you probably dont know this but im gonna try and ask anyways i just read a post from @/prettyoddsoutsold and Ryan mentions having a brother in it??? Do we know if he ever talked about his siblings again bcs ive literally never heard about him having any. Thank you!
Yeah he does. I remember some Vegas kids who were in the early fandom referenced multiple half-siblings for Ryan but idk too much about his personal life or how legit that info was. I remember Keltie mentioning something too but I have no way to cite that either. The fastest reference I can think of at the moment would be The Summer League's old livejournal entries from Ryan.
Disclaimer before I send people to that link: That community died out once The Summer League ended in summer 2004, but then a P!ATD fan tried to revive it in 2006 and filled it with utter nonsense (which honestly wasn't far off from the unreliable content plaguing every forum & community that year with the surge of intense fans who preferred to scream about Ryan's adam's apple or whatever and spread any idea that crossed their mind, regardless of whether it was real/true). I just don't want anyone's takeaway to be that the Hey Matt song being passed around the fandom was legit lol.
I'll screenshot anything left in that community that is remotely useful to make it easier...

and Ryan replied:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so there's his reference to a brother (if we're reading that correctly).
I like the part about Spencer's mom taping because the guys mentioned in future interviews how they practiced in Spencer's garage and his mom would tape them:
Tumblr media
note: he did call his band "League" in journal entries in late 2003 (with the parentheses).
Ryan talking about the The Summer League's potential demo and then its cover:

and then this random bit about going outside at night when it snowed:

Hey, yo, you probably saw me on one of your posts. I was wondering if you could do the arcana twilight characters reacting to reader training Precious to destroy sisuris's balls l, I'm so sorry for this post, but I had to. You could skip if you want to. Also, sorry for misspelling sisuris name.
HAHAHAHAGHDJWEH- no worries my friend, there is absolutely no harm done on your part, I'm glad you enjoy that crack shit post and I hope you enjoy reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing it.
character(s) : spica, alpheratz, arcturus, pollux, vega
warning(s) : someone's balls being obliterated, a feral ferret and a vengeful summoner that just wants to see blood.
Tumblr media
Spica
Speechless and just straight up lost, man is just looking at us for a good minute before continuing to walk down the aisle like nothing happened.
for reference his face looked like this :
Tumblr media
He says nothing, he's just confused and tells himself that he needs coffee thinking he's hallucinating due to all the work he has to do.
don't even bother explaining, Spica will pass out and Precious is going to take that opportunity to destroy.
"Wrong target Precious I'm not letting you hurt rapunzel."
"AHDJEREJHR !"
Tumblr media
Alpheratz
Hype man right here, he's literally helping you coach that killing machine to end Sirius.
Precious actually stops trying to rip his wig off and is now accepting him as a friend, sort of.
I love this trio ! A batshit crazy animal, their batshit insane owner and the owner's boyfriend who hates the same person they hate.
Once precious is released into the city to found that sexy gun man, it's over for him.
It crawls it's way through the streets, hissing at anything in it's way until it finds the legs of the enemy..and CRUNCH GOES THE BALLS OF THE ASSHOLE-
*screams in agony*
Tumblr media
Arcturus
[Name] I don't think you have to- "HAJSKFBEFUEKR-"
Precious held on to his leg for a week, it didn't wanna let go for even a minute. Had to constantly keep this ginger man in a hospital because the moment he got out he would bleed extensively.
Once it got off of him, you just continued to train your unhinged creature.
Precious is really going balls out for the game I'll tell ya that, we're not just speaking about the nutcracker here we're talking about the sacrifice of future generations as well.
This poor dude is just standing on the sidelines like : you don't have to do this but I still support you because that's really all I can do...
Tumblr media
Pollux
Oh he means business.
We got another coach right here- bro is going to ANNIHILATE sirius and whatever is left.
Although he keeps wincing whenever it actually happens, I mean they're both guys he knows just how painful it can get.
It's really terrifying to be honest just witnessing something that violent.
I mean who would expect this :
Tumblr media
to act like THIS :
Tumblr media
That's pollux trying to hold it, Precious is completely calm and rational with it's beloved owner.
Tumblr media
Vega
._.
wut ?
like Spica, he will stand there, but not like Spica, he will remain standing there for a very long time.
Even Precious stops bitting the plastic toy that now looks like it's been shredded, even you stop encouraging your cute psychopath of a beast.
why are you giving it more attention ? HIIIIIISSSSSSSS-
He doesn't give a shit, we all know just how much of a simp he gets when it comes to you.
I love how I skipped the part where Precious tried to lunge at him and remove his eyeballs from his eye sockets.
You luckily managed to avoid that, but now you got an animal and a touch-starved white boy clinging onto you for dear life.
Vega I need to proceed with my ferret's training so could you please ? no. ...You're lucky you're just as adorable as my electric saw. BFUKETGEHTK$#$ PRECIOUS STOP SWEARING-
Tumblr media
Have a good day I hope you liked it.

Wolf Spider pt. 4
Sam Carpenter x Spider-Man!Reader
Tumblr media
It wasn't supposed to be like this. Ghostface wasn't supposed to know where you were. And now because of that, Anika's life was now on the precipice of life and death. You switched back into your civilian clothing and rushed back to the hospital.
You ran into the waiting room to find Sam, Tara, Ethan, Mindy, and Chad. Mindy was crying her eyes out as she rushed up and started wailing away at your chest, trying to somehow punch you. A fool's errand due to your enhanced spider strength. But your friend was in pain, as much as you, she needed this.
"You bastard!" Mindy practically screamed through her tears, "where were you?! Why didn't you come sooner?!?"
"I'm sorry" was all you could say as Chad gently pulled his sister away from you.
"Doctors said Anika was stable but she's in a coma" Tara explains as she tries to remain calm from the nearby waiting room couch.
"Can't you call any more of your spider friends?" Chad asks
"Spider Society. And no" you whisper, "they'll define anything as a canon event. they're of no use, we're on our own"
"I wouldn't say on your own" a familiar female voice answers back, you turn and come face to face with Gale Weathers or as you know her-
"Hey Aunt Gale" you smile
"D-Do they know about-?" She makes a webslinging movement with her hands.
"We know" Sam answers back. "Hey Gale. Thanks for not publishing that story by the way"
"Dewey would've killed me if I did" Gale chuckles, "and Sidney would've sucker punched me." Gale gives you, Sam, and Tara quick hugs.
"She always had a mean right hook" you smile back.
It's then that you saw the ambulance pull in, the EMTs emerge with a gurney. On the gurney was Quinn, in a comatose state. Detective Bailey and a young woman followed close behind.
"Quinn?!" you tried to approach the gurney but Bailey grabs you.
"It's a medically induced coma" he answers, "s-she's stable but-" the older man begins to cry. You give him a little side hug. No father should be put through this kind of pain. You turn to the young woman, blonde, average height but you could tell there was a fire in her eyes.
"I'm FBI Special Agent Kirby Reed" the young woman introduces herself. "I've been tracking Ghostface sightings for years now."
"Cool" you huff, "there's gonna be a bunch of them in like two days time. Bunch of masked freaks"
"You referring to the Wolf Spider as well?" Kirby smirks, "I'm just glad we got one masked good guy at least"
"Not to dash the moment" Ethan interjects, "but where are we gonna stay? It's not like we have any safe spaces right now"
You give it some thought, you had to keep them safe, "I-I think I might know a place" you say.
You guide your friends, family, and a detective and an FBI agent to your hidden little apartment located in a clock tower. The whole housing area was right above the gigantic gears that ran the tower, surprisingly its very quiet.
The space was fairly big. Two stories, well a living room on the first story and a master bedroom on the second. Two futon couches, a bed upstairs, a TV, a simple bathroom and kitchen set up. And of course your makeshift research lab by the window which overlooked all of New York.
"This is your lair?" Mindy asks, "Like the Web?"
"The Watch Tower" you answer, "but I'm not gonna lie, the Web sounds cooler"
"How did you afford this?" Bailey asks with a chuckle, "I can't even afford rent in New York as it is."
"Saved some rich dude," you shrug, "It's his old apartment and he had it gifted to me. It's more of a base of operations. You'll be safe here."
You pull out the futons' beds. "Chad, Mindy, the futons are yours. Tara, Sam, bed's all yours"
"And what about you?" Sam asks
"Now's not the time for you two to get all romantic," Chad tries to interject but you lightly sock him in the arm.
"I have my ways" you form a hammock with some webbing. Bailey chuckles.
"I got my apartment closeby" Gale answers as she walks to the door. She gives you a quick nod before heading out.
"What about me?" Ethan asks as you throw a sleeping bag at him. The young college student sighs, "Right. I'm still a suspect"
You make sure everyone gets settled in for the night. You notice Kirby inspecting your lab set up. She admires your web shooters in particular.
"Can't tell you how many suspects I could apprehend with these. Quite a set up you got here" she smirks, "we could use you on the force"
"Too many rules" you smirk back, "besides these powers are my responsibility. And don't go telling your friends at Langley, I don't need the FBI trying to experiment on me"
"My lips are sealed" she answers back. "Glad to be working with you, Wolf Spider"
You make your way back to the bedroom, Tara's already sleeping peacefully. Sam not so much. She rises from the bed and you pull her into a hug. She breathes in your scent, just being in your arms brings her some ounce of peace. Her hands rub gentle circles on your back, like a soothing balm on your very soul. How your being ached for her touch.
"Promise you won't leave me again" she whispers. You give her a peck on the lips.
"I promise." you answer back. "I love you Sam, I won't let anyone ever hurt you again"
"I love you, my Wolf Spider"
Sam drifts off to sleep as you sneak out of the room later that night. You needed to clear your head. What you failed to notice as you snuck past your sleeping friends and family was that one of the genetically engineered spiders you kept in your lab, had snuck out of it's containment unit. And it had set up a little web right above your pal, Chad. The iridescent arachnid slowly made its way down to the sleeping jock.
You made your way to rooftop overlooking all of New York. You could only breath in and out. Ghostface wouldn't rest until Sam and Tara were dead.
Your mind was racing with so many variables. Canon events. What if losing Sam and Tara was a part of your web? Was it really something that you couldn't stop? What if your aunt Gale was another person you couldn't save? Was your fate truly set in stone? Would Ghostface take everything away from you?
We'll go after Ghostface first, The symbiote hisses, Let me take control. I'll have his head by morning.
"No" you shake your head, "I won't let you. Not after last time...Venom."
"Talkin' to yourself ain't gonna help, mate" a familiar British voice chuckles from behind you. The only one standing behind you was dressed in a punk rock outfit, spike studded boots, his guitar on his back and his denim vest adorned with little anarchist pins. He offers you a mischievous smile.
"I thought you weren't supposed to interfere" you smile before turning to face your interdimensional best pal, Hobie 'Spider-Punk' Brown.
"You know I don't listen to authority, bruv" Hobie gives you a bro hug. "now let's work on catchin' your ghost"
To Be Continued...

Ok, if you don't want to engage in some (queer) tin foiling... scroll away.
So first off, I think this song rules. It was one of the few that I let just vibe instead of doing what my brain usually does, which is scrutinize lyrics/marvel over the layers of meaning. It feels like it has Kill Bill energy and that was good enough for me.
My Albatross variation of the TTPD vinyl showed up yesterday — TTPD is perhaps the best her team has done btw — and was pouring over the lyrics last night and paused on I Can Fix Him (No, Really I Can) in particular.
The last line has been one that most people have chuckled at. Like she spent a whole song building up this menacing conceit: "this boy is bad news, but he can't hold a candle to me — I'll handle him." Only to be like, lol jk at the end.

But seeing that last line written out this way scratched at my brain... she really doesn't scream that line at all. Why is it in all caps? And while we're at it... I mean it's an accepted spelling, but technically the incorrect spelling of 'whoa.' It kind of felt, by putting it in caps, like she was calling attention to it. Was it an acronym? Not that I could tell.
But... just to double check... how had she spelled woah/whoa prior? The only song I could think of off the top of my head to check was Better Than Revenge. When reading her lyrics you really wont find 99% of the "whoas" in her discography written because they're more like instrumentals.

And that right there is a "whoa." Of course my eyes twitched at the matching colors of the two vids, but I'll get to that. And then I was only able to find one more written "whoa."

Ok, cool.
But back to Better Than Revenge... It struck me that something had been "fixed" about the song. The famous "she's better known for things that she's done on the mattress" line had been swapped out in the rerecording for "he was a moth to the flame she was holding the matches."
So I looked back at I Can Fix Him... could this be a joke/hint about "fixing" him. Like fixing the pronouns? "WOAH" is an intentional misspelling just by comparing it to her own body of work. But it would be rather clever if the "he" she's referring to (at least on this one layer of the song) was her use of that pronoun in her work. It would make the lines "I can fix him / No, really, I can / And only I can" make even more sense, imo. She's the author of this music and she's rerecording it/making it.
What's more is that the collaged flower in the lyric booklet and the aesthetic of the lyric video are giving me um... big Reputation vibes?

Hey kids, spelling is FUN! Am I absolutely living in delulu thinking that Reputation could also be "fixed" re: pronouns? Oh, I don't doubt it. But I needed to get this out of my brain, out into the world, and let the chips fall as they may and always do.
And at least Taylor Nation is also in on the joke...
