Hello! I discovered this t-shirt that is a bootleg, do you know of any more? I'm really interested in that topic.
that one's fun because they actually used the Honda Civic Tour logo! it looks like they just skipped the first 35 shows on the tour and highlighted the shows in the last few weeks (besides Vancouver), so it totally works.
I thought that the random designs sold on ebay or by street vendors were actually really entertaining because you'd get the most unhinged designs. To be fair, the band did evolve really quickly in 2006 so every couple months felt like a new era. But the fact that these random designers put Brent on so many different shirts after he got kicked out is hilarious:
Which tour is this next shirt for? Literally just "2006," stop wanting things to make sense. đ We've got Brent on the front and Jon on the back:
So I guess that was meant to be a NRWC-inspired tour shirt with a sprinkling of dates (plus the cover of the Lying is the Most Fun single in the background lol). Nothing Rhymes With Circus content that used early Fever photoshoots were my favorite. And speaking of bootleg NRWC shirts, here's another one that I heard was sold outside of some venues:
There is no excuse for this next "Honda Civic Tour Tour 2008" shirt to use a 2006 photoshoot, but the mashup of the two eras is so great (also nothing screams 2008 like that fall 2005 graphic used as Panic's logo).
I remember more, but I mainly have pictures of the few that my friends & I had. Someone on here sent me this picture recently, though:
so please add your own onto this post â they're all amazing!

This off-white t-shirt that was for sale at some shows during the 2008 Honda Civic Tour was really popular and was usually the one you'd see people asking other fans to grab for them in late spring because their show sold out in their size. This is the shirt that was sewn into a vest for Ryan that season btw:
FBR added this shirt to their webstore in August 2008 and some sizes sold out quickly but then got restocked. I remember some people complaining that FBR's shirt was a slightly different color than the one on tour, but others said it was the same. Idk, it looked like the same general off-white color to me. The band's name was still on the right sleeve:
I liked this design because it was SO different from most t-shirt designs in this era (like in general, not just PATD) and was way more minimalist. A fan created some pngs that we could print out to iron on our own shirts, so I'll add them here if anyone wants them. They used the "Big Noodle Tilting" font and created their own heart:
That fall Hot Topic also came out with an off-white tote that had the same large "reinvent love" design on one side. Then the design of the band name (from the t-shirt's sleeve) got a heart added and was enlarged to be the graphic on the other side of the tote. The inside of the bag was a floral pattern that reminded me of the striped hoodie's lining:
FBR clearly loved how successful this whole design was. The webstore included a bonus sticker in the order packages for P!ATD fans in fall 2008:
The Rock Band Live Tour shows in fall 2008 used the same type of graphic:
And the shows on that tour had a black tote & shirt for sale:
Spencer did an interview with Out.com this season that had this question:
The most popular items at your merch booth seem to be a t-shirt and bag that say âReinvent Love,â which is such a strong, inclusive message. Tell me about how that became the band slogan.
It started out as a lyric in âMad as Rabbits.â It was the last song we were recording for the album, and as we figured out how to fit it into the end of the song, it took on some more anthem-style cheer. As we went on tour, me and Ryan [Ross, Panicâs guitarist] talked about making a âReinvent Loveâ shirt. At first it was just going to be on the Fueled By Ramen web store, just a limited edition thing because it didnât have our band name on the front, and we didnât know how many people would want to wear that. It ended up being a lot more popular than we thought it would. We were ending all of the concerts with that song, so that was the last thing that people were hearing. We wouldnât want to be a part of anything that wasnât that kind of that message. If thereâs going to be some saying associated with our band, thatâs a pretty good one. It goes along with everything we want to represent and the way that we feel.
This bracelet was added to FBR's webstore in December 2008 (after the Pretty. Odd. era had basically ended & around the time that Live in Chicago was released):
By the time this necklace got added to FBR's webstore in January 2009, a lot of fans were tired of this theme:
The necklace spawned more fan jokes about what was coming next at that point... my favorite was still the musical toaster:
So in March 2009 FBR just added the black shirt & tote to their webstore (the ones that were sold at shows in fall 2008) and then let the phrase rest so they could soon move onto overusing the return of the exclamation mark. lol jk.

This was one of the first t-shirts that P!ATD sold. It was for sale at their first show at The Alley, and was available at their shows in fall 2005 & on the FBR webstore too.
My memory is associating the hoodie version of this design with stores & sites that were unrelated to the band (those stores might have stocked the t-shirt as well):

AJ Dimarucot designed a few awesome shirts for Panic at the Disco in 2008. His "Billy Sheers" shirt was one of the earlier shirts of the Pretty. Odd. era that appeared at both Hot Topic & FBR's webstore several weeks before the album came out. AJ said the band's management asked for a Sgt. Pepper feeling. This was his original design:
it wound up on a light grey shirt:
side note: this next picture was from a German fan shop... it looked like a different color?
AJ said that the band also requested a "girly design," so he came up with this and it got accepted (which doesn't necessarily mean it automatically gets used):
That one wasn't added to FBR's webstore and I don't remember hearing about it being sold at shows in 2008 either. There's a chance it might have been sold on a site unrelated to the band if it got made? idk I'm blanking on this one rn, sorry.
This next design of AJ's got rejected for sure:
But he also did this amazing shirt that was accepted & hit FBR's webstore in summer 2008:

This was one of the fan projects for Brendonâs 20th birthday. It included a guitar hero hoodie, a scrapbook where fans sent a picture of a glimpse into their life, skittles & a few extras, and 2 decks of playing cards with a message from a fan written on each one. That last part took a lot of coordinating because fans would email Christina with their address, she would send them a single playing card to write a message on, and then theyâd have to mail it back in time. Christina organized this project with Sara, so full credit to her for the pics above.
I didnât think that fans would actually hear anything from the band, but a couple weeks later Brendon posted:
04.28.2007 - late bday message
as i try on my new âmusic addictedâ shirt and my new guitar hero hoodie, i can only feel grateful. for YOU. the fans. i just received a package full of bday letters, decks of cards with little notes, awesome pictures and artwork. i can definitely tell that a lot of hard work went into this amazing project. so, once again, thank you to those fine ladies that set this all up and to all the fans that contributed their time and effort into this project. i mean, if turning 20 is THIS good, i canât wait for next year. :)
love.
