I love reimagining Sofia the First episodes where Elena is inside the Amulet of Avalor from her perspective. You’re a sixteen-year-old heir to the throne trapped in a gemstone as a disembodied spirit with murdered parents, living family still in danger, a colonized country in need of liberation and untreated PTSD who nobody around you even knows exist. This has been your life for thirty-nine years by the time you finally find someone who might have the potential to free you. But first, you have to help her grow as a person. And all of these shenanigans keep happening. What was she thinking the whole time?
Sofia: (boasting to her friends about getting to sing the Enchancian anthem)
Elena: Oh my God, shut up. You sound like Esteban, and not in a good way.
Elena, a teenager and older sibling who hasn’t had the chance to tease anyone in roughly four decades: So… you’re expected to sing in front of a huge crowd tomorrow? Would be a shame. If something were to. Happen.
***
Amber: (deceives and manipulates Sofia and steals her amulet for personal gain)
Elena: You fucking brat! How dare you take advantage of your own sister’s trust after she’s been nothing but kind to you? Don’t you know how lucky you are? I would do anything to be able to just see my little sister again, talk to her, hug her, know that she’s safe and okay, let alone make her happy myself. You have so much, but you’re too spoiled rotten to appreciate it. You mistreat your family? Fine. Let’s see how you like them being threatened by an evil sorceress trying to take over your kingdom! ‘Cause trust me, it isn’t fun. Learn to be selfless or lose everything you’ve ever had! A BITCH FOR A BITCH!
***
Ivy: (takes the amulet to destroy it, which would kill Elena)
Elena: Shit.
***
Cedric: (deceives and manipulates Sofia and steals her amulet for personal gain)
Elena, who’s been onto him since day one, but feels completely unthreatened: You could be coveting any source of powerful magic, but no, you want the only one that you already know has a moral compass and will curse you for doing wrong. Genuine question: what are you doing with your life? I’m just gonna give you literal sticky fingers, and I’ll revoke that if you’re nice. You obviously don’t need much help to fail.
***
Miranda and Roland: (have sweet, bond-affirming moments with their children as good parents)
Elena: Aw, that’s nice. That’s - that’s nice. I’m fine.
***
Sofia: (is ten)
Elena: I’m so proud of Sofia. I think it’s time to enlist her to release me. Now how can I communicate that? Visions of Shuriki killing my parents and trying to kill me will get her started, right?

Hi I love ur work - but could u do a yandere septiceyes x reader who is disabled and always unintentionally hurts them self? U didn't have to but the idea is here
I saw this a couple weeks after Anon asked. I hope you're still around to read the fic you inspired!
TW's: Stalking, undiagnosed/ untreated medical issues.
I based this on my experiences and the reader is gender neutral
The world was set up to fail you from the very beginning. This much you knew. You didn’t know who was leaving you small trinkets and small love notes for you in your workplace- but you knew that the world couldn’t care less about you or your ‘issues’.
Since you could remember, you had episodes of dizziness and lost your coordination skills- that could last minutes to hours, it varied. Pair that with anxiety and sensory issues, and it equaled out to your worst day when both showed up. Realistically, you knew you should get a cane or something. Since the path for a required diagnosis and treatment wasn’t covered by your healthcare plan, it was the next best option.
But your anxiety would sky-rocket if your coworkers and friends saw you with a cane, and then you’d have to explain why you used it to every single person. It would be none of their business, really, but the social pressure of explaining why and letting strangers invalidate or validate your reason was an expectation- and you didn’t have the strength to go through that.
Punching out, you were just done with today. It was 9PM and today had been hectic to the max. Frustrated customers, cleaning every nook and cranny cause the area managers were visiting, stocking- bending up and down, again and again it was way too much. But trying to be the perfect worker to prove your worth, you pushed. You were the last one leaving, the mall already closing two hours ago. You spent 10 minutes in the break room earlier, sprawled out, trying to get some feeling back into your bones. And in your tired, weary mind, when you saw that the escalator was shut down- you picked the stairs, forgetting about the real possibility that you could die if you had an episode then and there. It was 2 floors- so not awful. Trudging down, you loosely held onto the railing, just wanting to get home already. Everything became a blur slowly, losing awareness because of how stressed out you were and the feeling of dizziness becoming more prominent minute by minute. Stopping a couple times, you took a break so the symptoms slowed down- playing the waiting game and then moving again. Missing a step, you almost fell…
Black sleeved arms caught you around your waist, holding you up from face-planting into the concrete floor. If you weren’t ‘alone’, at a mall, at night- you would've said thanks. But the fact that you never heard a single door open or footsteps fueled your action to grip onto the rail harder and turn around- nothing. Nothing was there... No-one was there… The next morning you forgot all about it, blaming it on your delirium from working a ten hour shift on four hours of sleep and a red bull. It was nothing.
Months passed since then, you almost hurt yourself countless times because of your perfectionism and by ‘chance’ you didn’t. A ‘gust of wind’ pushed the door closed just in time for you to lean on it. Your phone appeared, ringing so loudly in between your couch cushions that you had no choice but to crash instead of continuing cleaning during a dizzy spell and a migraine once. How convenient that you didn’t burn an arm trying to cook while your head was spinning because the electric stove shut off randomly that day. The small gifts from your secret admirer ramped up in price and became spot-on choices of what you liked. Word got around fast- despite your 50+ coworkers. So, you assumed whoever it was, was listening. Small detailed jewelry, costly gemstones, your favorite snacks- it should’ve been alarming. But who were you to question gifts given out of ‘pure romantic obsession interest’?
Tuesday, on the way to work in a uber, you checked your missed texts. One was sent 4 A.M. and you didn't recognize the number. Your blood ran cold when you read it.
Don’t push yourself to be a perfectionist today, Y/N. I can’t watch you every second like usual- I’ll only be able to check on you every hour today. I’m making everything perfect for our 8 month anniversary and need to spend some time on getting it all ready for tonight. Be careful, Doll. I love you~
The same number showed up as calling after you read it, and with shaky hands, you answered.

Why is white sapphire so cheap?
White sapphire is generally more affordable compared to other gemstones like diamonds for several reasons:
Abundance: White sapphires are relatively abundant compared to other gemstones, such as diamonds or colored sapphires. Higher availability leads to a larger supply in the market, which tends to lower the price.
Demand: While white sapphires are popular as an alternative to diamonds, their demand is not as high as diamonds. Many people still prefer diamonds for their engagement rings and other fine jewelry, which can keep the price of white sapphires more affordable.
Colorless Variety: White sapphires are a colorless variety of the mineral corundum, which is the same mineral as rubies and blue sapphires. However, they lack the vivid colors that make rubies and colored sapphires highly sought after. As a result, their value is often lower.
Gemstone Grading: Gemstone grading and valuation are influenced by factors like color, clarity, cut, and carat weight. White sapphires are typically graded based on their clarity and lack of color. Since they lack the vibrant colors of other sapphires, their grading might not command as high a price.
Treatment: Some white sapphires might undergo heat treatment to enhance their clarity or remove certain inclusions. While this treatment doesn't drastically impact the price, it can make white sapphires more affordable compared to untreated or minimally treated gemstones.
Market Perception: White sapphires are sometimes perceived as an economical alternative to diamonds, which can affect their pricing. This perception might make them more appealing to budget-conscious consumers.

Pros and cons of common diamond-alternative stones for engagement rings 💍
In 1947, a copywriter by the name of Frances Gerety went down in "didn't get paid enough for that" history as he penned DeBeer's infamous tagline, a diamond is forever. Now, that tagline had more to do with subtly brainwashing the public to never sell a diamond to the secondary market than to making consumers aware that diamonds are one of the hardest substances in earth, but they were on to something nonetheless.
The real reason that diamonds have persevered as the most popular stone for engagement rings is not because they're the most beautiful, rare, or expensive—it's actually because of their incredible durability. A diamond has the unique ability to stand up to a lifetime of every day wear and tear and then some. Most other stones, and even the gold or platinum that rings are mostly comprised of, cannot say the same.
The primary measurement used to determine a stone's hardness is the Moh's Hardness Scale. This is the most well known scale, numbering 1-10 and placing all known gemstones somewhere along that range.
Tumblr media
So here's the issue with the Moh's scale: it doesn't test durability. The Moh's test only determines one substance's ability to scratch another. For example, it says here that a copper penny is .5 higher than a fingernail. But a human tooth can bite a fingernail in half with absolutely no effort, while a copper penny might damage teeth first. The relative difference between the substances is large, though on the chart it's only a margin.
A better scale to judge by is the Vickers Hardness scale. See that huge swoop between corundum and diamond? That's an 8000 point difference here that's only shown as a one point shift in the Moh's scale. This is a much better illustration to my point: diamond is, by far, the most durable material you can put into an engagement ring.
Tumblr media
But diamonds are expensive! And everyone's got one anyway, so what are your alternatives? Allow me to list every popularly demanded gemstone here and give you some pros and cons.
-> Morganite and Aquamarine (beryl)
Cons: They are SO INCREDIBLY difficult to keep clean!! After just one day of wear, they will look cloudy and dirty, losing a lot of their color and attractiveness very quickly. The worst part of this is that if you don't keep on top of the cleaning, dirt and frequent exposure to soaps/perfume/lotion can cause it to become permanently cloudy or discolored. Also, they're a 7.5-8 on the Moh's scale, meaning they will scuff and scratch much more easily than a diamond.
Pros: They're both very pretty, and morganite especially is much less expensive than a diamond.
Recommended alternative: Pink or blue sapphire, pink or blue diamond, pink or blue moissanite, pink or blue topaz
-> Emerald (beryl but slightly different)
Cons: Emerald is expensive as fuck, I won't parse words. Getting an emerald with ideal color, cut, and clarity will likely be more expensive than a diamond and MUCH more time consuming to find. Emerald has an average rating of 7.5-8 on the mohs scale. But unlike its beryl siblings, it does have a tenancy toward internal flaws that make them more prone to chip, crack, or break in half altogether.
Pros: no denying they're gorgeous, but that's about it.
Recommended alternatives: Spinel, green diamond, green moissanite, green sapphire
-> Sapphire and Ruby (corundum)
Cons: Depending on the quality of stone you're looking for, these can get quite expensive. A triple-A quality, untreated, natural ruby will have you taking out a second mortgage. Rubies also have the same tenancy toward internal fault lines as emeralds do. Corundum has a hardness of 9, so it's one of the best diamond alternatives there is. However, I've still seen a few scratched up sapphire engagement rings in my time. CAVEAT: WHITE SAPPHIRE IS A NO-NO
Pros: I mean, they're pretty.
Recommended alternatives: blue or pink diamond, blue or pink moissanite, pink or London-blue topaz
-> Cubic Zirconia
IT'S HONESTLY NOT AS BAD AS THE DIAMOND INDUSTRY WANTS YOU TO THINK!! CZ is a whopping 8-8.5 on the mohs scale, coming in above beryl by an entire point. However, there are a few big cons you should be aware of.
Cons: In the event that your stone were to fall out of the setting, or you needed prong repair work done, many jewelers will turn you away. Why? 1: they don't want to work on CZ, they want to sell you a diamond. 2: CZ is more heat-sensitive than any other stone at the same hardness, so it can crack or shatter when a jeweler is trying to work with it. Additionally, getting a well-cut stone will take some time and research.
Pros: it's so inexpensive!! So! Inexpensive! You can get one as big or small as you like, in any color of the rainbow, and none of your friends will be able to tell the difference. Well, unless I'm your friend. But I'm Built Different (read: sell jewelry for a living).
Recommended alternatives: moissanite
-> Amethyst, Citrine, Smokey Quartz, Rose Quartz, Onyx, Prasiolite (it's all quartz babey):
Cons: at only 7 on the mohs scale, it isn't very durable.
Pros: there are so many varieties to choose from! Strawberry quartz, moss agate, the choices are practically limitless. Even though they're soft, they're relatively inexpensive and make a nice alternative to a diamond ring in a situation that you may not want to wear it, like on vacation or getting your hands dirty. If you plan to wear your ring sparingly or replace it sometime in the future, Quartz makes a fine alternative.
Recommended alternatives: I don't recommend Quartz as your go-to stone, please refer to other categories.
-> Topaz
Cons: It can have some of the same issues as beryl where keeping it clean is concerned, but it doesn't have the same tenancy to discolor. Topaz is heat-sensitive, however, which means extended exposure to significant heat (hot tub, boiling water, left in the car in summer, heat exposure during repair work) can discolor it permanently. CAVEAT: WHITE TOPAZ IS BAD.
Pros: at an 8 on the mohs scale, this bad boy will last you a pretty long time if you take good care of it. Topaz also comes in every color of the rainbow and is readily available, so less expensive than some of the other stones listed such as corundum.
Recommended alternatives: depends on what color you're looking for!
-> Moissanite
Ah, the golden child of the current engagement ring scene.
Cons: Moissanite has something called double refraction, which basically means that you see two of each facet in the stone when you look at it. This isn't a huge deal to the layman, but it does mean that jewelers and their ilk can tell moissanite apart from a diamond faster than we can tell CZ from diamond. Moissanite also has double the refractive index of diamond, meaning that "fire", or the prism effect, is much more pronounced. TLDR: it's more sparkly and rainbow-y, and most people will be able to tell that it isn't a diamond. But that's ok! The goal isn't to fool people, it's to enjoy whatever stone you choose!
Pros: Almost everything. Seriously, moissanite is so affordable. It's a 9.5 on the mohs scale, as close to a diamond as you can get. Any shape or color you desire, you can find it easily.
Recommended alternative: diamond
And here's my list of don't even fucking try it stones.
These are all way too soft to consider. I don't care how bad you want an opal engagement ring, I'm sorry, it's the worst idea in the whole world. It'll last maybe a year or two with every day wear.
Tanzanite
Pearl
Opal
Tourmaline
White topaz
White sapphire. Listen, white sapphire is MORE expensive than CZ and FUGLY. If u buy ur girl/guy/partner in crime a white sapphire engagement ring I will manifest a plague upon your bloodline, full stop.
And never ever buy an engagement ring in sterling silver!! It's too soft for long-term, regular wear. You need platinum or gold.
And that's it! Thanks for reading all the way through this, if you managed it. You deserve a gold star. Or ring. Or something. Hopefully you learned something, and always feel free to drop questions in the replies or my inbox!
Note: the mohs scale was used throughout this post even though I clearly stated that it's not the greatest measurement. That's because, unfortunately, it's the only one that's commonly used and I couldn't find reliable sources for all mentioned stones on any other scale :/
