Bruce crashed to the ground.
The bright green portal that brought him here snapped shut above him leaving him stranded in an unknown location. He had just managed to stand up when he heard someone call out to him.
"Hey!" A boy with black hair and blue eyes came running up to him, "Are you okay?"
Bruce grunted, glaring at the small creature trailing behind the child through his cowl, "I'm fine. Where am I?"
"You're in Unova, smack dab inside the Pinwheel forest." The kid said, "What an unlucky place to land."
"Unlucky how?"
Aside from giving him a disapproving look, the child was unfazed by his tone. "The Pinwheel forest got its name because its a natural maze. The monsters here are weak but you might find yourself going in circles if you're not careful."
Batman thought for a moment, "monsters?"
The child smiled and Bruce thought he looked like his other children before the boy excitedly introduced his "partner pokemon": Aron
The Aron in question made happy little noises as it approached and nuzzled its metal face into the side of Batmans boot. Cute.
"Oh, by the way, my names Danny. Do you want me to take you to town? There's a professor there that you can talk to. She might not be able to help you get back to your home world but maybe she can find someone who can."
Batman narrowed his eyes at him, "How did you know I wasn't from this world. Thats not usually the first conclution people jump to."
For the first time since Danny had met the Batman he actually squirmed a bit. "Anyway, let's get started! It's a long trek to town!"
It took them about two days to get out of the forest. Danny had thankfully lent him use of his equipment and food. It was nice having a tent to sleep it when the rain hit on the first night, even if it was a little cramped. Aron curled up between them to soak up thier body heat like a housecat.
It was also a relief that Danny could cook, though Bruce had no idea where the child was storing all of this stuff.
Danny ran off into town, saying that people were going to ask a lot of questions if a guy dressed as a bat came strolling into town and if he was going to be staying in this world for a while it was probably best to get him some normal clothes.
Bruce reluctantly agreed and after telling him his sizes the kid ran off to the store, leaving Aron behind to "protect him". Bruce hated relying on a childs generosity to get by.
Soon enough the kid came back with an all black outfit, saying something about it suiting him. Bruce left to change and came back to Danny giving Aron and his other pokemon Staryu some Oran berries.
After that they finally set off to town.
The professor was nice, if infuriatingly calm about giving literal monsters to random children. The professor even offered Bruce a pokemon egg since he was probably going to be in this world a while.
Bruce accepted the gift, wondering what he was getting himself into when Danny got excited.
The child explained that he was a treasure hunter/explorer by trade that survived by finding things he could sell in shops but he wasn't a very strong trainer and had to be careful where he went due to the presence of powerful pokemon.
Danny then asked Bruce to travel with him to be his bodyguard.
Bruce was very displeased to discover people set thier kids loose into a monster infested world around the age of ten and horrified to know the actual survival rate of this stupidity.
Bruce agreed to protect him and got registered as a pokemon trainer and was given the egg and some pokeballs. Danny offered to teach him how to catch pokemon as Bruce planted a listening device somewhere.
They set off back into the pinwheel forest to catch Bruces first pokemon and to start thier journey.
Meanwhile, Dannys excited to travel with someone who seems like a proper dad.
It couldn't hurt to pretend, right?

An unexpected rain had overtaken the village suddenly, which resulted in the Warden of the highlands to pop into your home to escape it. You did not mind, naturally, as Ingo was always more than welcome in your home. He slipped off his worn coat and cap to let them dry. It was also a day off from your duties. Your captain had insisted on it, saying that you had earned it. That meant she would not accept your refusal, of course.
So, you bought some wood and began a carving project. You had already nearly completed it by the time Ingo appeared to take a rest in your home. Your attention drifted up from the wood in your lap to him. He seemed more exhausted than usual. The dark circles under his eyes were more pronounced, and he laid back against the wall as he sat. You sighed. This was not a recent development. Lately, he had just appeared gloomy. Battles were still fought fiercely when you challenged him, but the beginnings lacked energy. His smile was still genuine after it alongside his praise, but you saw the way his posture faltered when he believed no one was watching.
You knew there was much about his past that he could not recall, yet memories still fluttered across his mind in the cruellest form of torment. Distant memories without any focus or understanding would enter his awareness. It would make him happy at first, recalling anything always did, but the joy soon faded and was replaced with something more sombre and longing. Not entirely knowing was clearly torture for him. That man who shared his face seemed to peeve him most of all.
You finally finished the wood carving after allowing your mind to wander. It sat in your hands. The plan had originally been to paint it, but it felt as if that was to change. The small train carving was fine enough as is.
“Hey, Ingo,” you called out to the Warden, who appeared to be lost in his own thoughts as well. Your voice did call him back to reality as those pale eyes of his gazed at you curiously. The gift had been hidden behind your back. He responded with a simple yes. Bringing it out from behind you, it was presented to him. “I made you this… I know you have been thinking a lot about your memories, so I thought this might help.”
He reached a hand to gently take the carving from you. Closely, it was observed by him. The small details you tried to remember of the subway train car were hard to see without colour. You wondered if it really might have been better to wait. Before you could offer that, a small smile grew on his face. A finger delicately traced the decals you had made. It was not the best thing in the world, but he enjoyed it clearly.
“Ah, this is…” he trailed off and continued to examine it. His mind seemed to wander again. Perhaps it trailed back to the days he spent in the Gear Station watching the trains depart and return… Or maybe it went back to his time inside the cabins, checking on passengers or engaging in battles. A sigh left him. “A Single Battle car…” he said quietly, “… I used to ride on these rather frequently.” Your heart raced. Did he truly remember that much?
“Thank you, dearest,” he spoke genuinely as he approached you for an embrace. His strong arms held you tightly to his hardened body. Hisui had not been the kindest to him, having changed him from the lanky man that you had known back in Unova. “I… I would be so lost without your kindness…” A gentle kiss was pecked to your cheek, “I'm so glad that we ended up here together.”
As were you, despite how badly you knew Emmet must hate this.
Soon, you would find a way to return you both home.

[Attached: A live video feed. Gizmo is following Hugh, August, and their Lucario “Fenrir” from behind as they rush through an ice-covered Opelucid City, carefully navigating over the frozen over roads and sidewalks as quickly as can. You can see evacuating crowds rushing and slipping past them as the young trainers bolt into the fray, their panicked shouts and screams echoing through the audio.
“Those Plasma assholes-” Hugh curses under his breath, panting a bit as he runs. “I never expected them to go this far…” He motions back at his friend, urging them to keep up. “Come on, we get the DNA Splicers back from those ninja guys! We aren’t letting them get away with this!”
“Right!” August shouts back, continuing to trail behind their friend. They look to the Lucario running beside them and nods, initiating a wordless communication between them and the Pokémon. He seems to understand right away, returning the gesture affirmatively.
Fenrir then turns on his heel and veers off to the side, before bouncing up a tower of jagged ice with ease. He reaches the top in a matter of seconds, and his eyes begin to scan the chaos raging around him from his vantage point- as he does, you catch a glimpse of the massive, levitating frigate looming threateningly in the skies over the city.
August and Hugh swerve to follow after him, but they stop at the sound of loud beeping noises coming from the phone behind them. They both simultaneously turn to look to the camera, raising a brow at the Rotom phone as it begins to shake and twitch.
“Gizmo? What wrong?” August asks, extending a hand out to the little Electric-type in concern.
“ZZz-zzzZZT-zzzt— zzt-” Gizmo’s inexplicable buzzing gets louder, before the screen fades to static, intercepting the feed. It stays that way for a few seconds longer… before the scene abruptly changes.
There’s an older man with white hair and a tall cap, standing in front of an iron wall. He wears a massive purple cloak that looks like it was designed to withstand harsh low temperatures, with a blatant Team Plasma logo plastered on the front.
“Greetings, people of Unova.” The man addresses the audience in a dark tone, one that would spur unease within you. “My name is Zinzolin- a sage representing Team Plasma and my lord, Ghetsis.”
He continues, speaking to the camera with a blank, firm expression. “I’m sure you’re all wondering why this broadcast has suddenly reached your device- or perhaps you’re more focused crisis currently unfolding in Opelucid City. Either way, I’m here today to issue out a warning to all of Unova- so listen to my words, and listen to them well.”
“We may be taking our leave now, but know this- the attack on Opelucid was only the beginning,” he warns. “Soon enough, all the region will be shrouded in ice, and Lord Ghetsis will then take his rightful place as Unova’s ruler! Soon enough, when his plan falls into place, you will have no choice but to yield to him!”
“And before you think your little hero of truth is going to come to your rescue once more, like they did two years ago during our previous attempt to seize power…” Zinzolin smirks menacingly as he holds up what appears to be a remote control. “I regret to inform you that Reshiram and its trainer will not be coming to your aid this time. Nor will Zekrom- she and her hero abandoned you all a long time ago.”
“Don’t believe me?” He snickers. “See for yourself. In case my speech wasn’t enough to sway you, our generous leader has gone ahead and provided a little… presentation of sorts, to remind you we are not to be trifled with.”
He presses down on the controller, and in the blink of an eye, the screen switches again. Now, a pitch dark room is shown- you can just barely see the line where the floor and wall meet. Everything is deadly silent for a moment longer, before you begin to hear what sounds like shouts and metal clanging in the background, growing closer…
A door offscreen opens up, filling the room with light for the briefest of moments- just long enough for you to see a figure get harshly thrown into the dank holding cell, before the door is promptly slammed back shut. Your blood runs cold when you’re met with a face likely many Unovans know- the hero of Reshiram… their hands are tied behind their back, and a piece of black tape is pasted firmly over their mouth.
Tumblr media
Blake’s hat tumbles off their head as their back slams against the cold wall, a muffled cry erupting from their throat before they slide pitifully onto the ground. They’re alive, but they writhe around and recoil like they’re in excruciating pain… You don’t want to imagine what they must’ve gone through before all of this. Or whatever they’re about to endure.
“Let this be a lesson to all who dares try and oppose the might of Team Plasma,” Zinzolin’s voice can be heard booming from a nearby speaker. “Watch as the very trainer who once saved your pathetic lives is reduced to nothing but ashes, and know that you will all suffer the same fate if you try to revolt!”
A red flash fills the room, and once it fades away you hear a haunting, reverberating growl… Trembling, Blake tilts their head up, pure dread overcoming their expression as they meet the face of whatever’s about to be their end. You see the shadow of a Hydreigon looming on the wall behind them, slowly growing as the beast closes in on its prey…
Tumblr media
Blake begins crying out desperately, helplessly flailing and kicking against their restraints, like a beetle turned over on its shell. Although their legs are untied, they seem unable to manage standing, incapable of running away as the creature prowls closer.
In the last few seconds of the video, you see the white glow of a charging Hyper Beam illuminate the room. And all that Blake can do is stare into the light, eyes bulged with horror. You catch a tear pricking through the corner of their eye right before the attack is unleashed.
A blinding, white hot light swallows the camera. You can barely hear Blake scream out one last time before it’s drowned out by a deafening explosion.
…The video feed cuts out. You didn’t get to see the aftermath, but… it’s not hard to guess what happened next.]

A parcel cloaked in flames flits down into the icy cavern, illuminating the area Kyurem resides in until it reaches the ground. Flames dispersing, a faint glow of embers falling off older, rolled parchment rests atop the package. It’s wrapped delicately.
“Dear Kyurem,
I hope this letter finds you well. After I recieved the wonderful package you sent my way I wanted to write back to thank you for all the gifts included. It was incredibly kind of you to send me something for the season. It is only proper I send something in return, is it not?
Included in this parcel are a few gemstones from my own collection. I can forage in fact, I have a decent collection from my time in the past exploring caves. Gemstones really are quite abundant here in Unova, aren’t they? I’m sure these are no surprise to you, but holding one can boost an attack you may use quite significantly!
I’m not sure how to handle the device you sent me. It seems a bit daunting. And besides, I see no trail of any Rotom anywhere? You aren’t pulling my leg now are you?
Be sure to give Ky my regards, the craftsmanship is exquisite, and honestly I cannot be more overjoyed to have another set of clothes in my wardrobe. I know it was a gift, however I want to ensure they recieve due recompense. Included for them is proper payment, and something that may help their buisness a tad. I hope the designs on it inspire plenty of creativity.
Finally, I’m unsure of why you would entrust me with such a weighty item. This Mingle you write of sounds quite tenacious. I don’t know where you got the idea I would wish to talk with the dead, but rest assured it will not be used foolishly. I have no idea what to send in return, however for now I have included one of my own feathers. Should you have need of me, you need only ask.
From, Reshi.”
Gently placed inside are the following items:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
An Ice Gem, a Dragon Gem, assorted gold and silver pieces that show years of age, and a roll of lace fabric that shines gorgeous colors in the light.
At the bottom of the letter reads as so:
“Ps. Say hi to Taiji for me, I hope you both are doing well.”

A little 1 shot about how N reacts to Mega Evo/D-GMax/Terastalyze for this AU.
I think Terastal is the quickest one because, let's just say he Attends to BB Academy as a special guest.
Here's a fic with N & Alder reacting to a mega evolution! It's the only one I'm familiar with and I don't plan on leaving the Unova region haha! (N is around 15-16 ish in this story)
[Guys I'm not familiar with how mega stones or Pokemon Centers work, try to bear with me :'D]
Alder and N stood in front of the Trade System in the Pokémon Center, patiently awaiting the arrival of a package from professor Juniper. Alder’s Accelgor joined them at their feet. Juniper had called them to the Pokémon Center ahead of time to retrieve an object. She wanted to show it to them but she would be running a bit late, so they were there to pick it up ahead of her. Alder had poked at the Trade System machine for around 10 minutes trying to get it to work before N eventually took over for him. As the machine beeped in approval, Alder shook his head.
“I’m never going to get how all these new machines work.” He said with a helpless chuckle.
After waiting for a few moments there was a clicking sound, and a small brown package slid down the chute. N picked it up carefully and stepped back from the machine. Both father and son peered in curiously as N reached his hand into the package and pulled out a small circular gem. He held the stone between his fingers, twisting it back and forth as the rainbow color glistened in the light. A translucent DNA shaped spiral twirled back and forth.
“Fascinating.” Alder breathed, peering in closer. “Juniper told me it’s from a region called Kalos. I haven’t been there but apparently they have these.” N handed the stone to Alder and he held it up to take a closer look. “She says they are called mega stones.”
“What do they do?” N asked, leaning in closer.
“I actually don’t know, I’ve never seen one before.” Alder admitted, taking the stone and turned it around in his hand. “It’s supposed to do something to Pokémon that helps them battle, or at least that’s what she told me.” He leaned down and tapped it against his Accelgor’s head experimentally. Accelgor let out a grunt in protest, but nothing happened.
“I hypothesize that it has to do with some sort of genetic change,” N said thoughtfully. “Hence the DNA shaped strand in the middle.”
“You’re not that far off.”
The two of them jumped in surprise as a new voice joined the conversation. They turned around as Professor Juniper came up behind them with an Audino trailing behind her. Her white lab coat fluttered down to her ankles as she came to a stop.
“Well hello Juniper.” Alder said cordially. N repeated his acknowledgement with a small salute.
“Champion Alder and N.” She replied, giving them each a smile and a polite nod in greeting. “Thank you for your patience! Sorry that I took longer than I anticipated.” Her eyes trailed down to the stone in Alder’s hand. “Ah, you got the mega stone! You were actually pretty close with the transformation hypothesis, N.” Juniper said with a laugh, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
“Really huh?” Alder inquired curiously, holding out the stone. “What does it actually do then?”
Juniper took it gently from his hand, giving them a wry smile. “Would you allow me to demonstrate?”
Both father and son nodded their heads enthusiastically. Juniper laughed, before turning to the Audino behind her.
“Watch this.”
She pulled out a bracelet from her pocket and slipped the mega stone into the middle of the chain with a tight click. She then slipped the bracelet onto her wrist and held it out in front of her.
Audino tilted its head up and closed its eyes. For a few moments nothing seemed to happen. Then all of a sudden Audino’s skin began to pulse with light, glowing brighter beneath its fur. Alder and N let out an audible gasp as Audino was engulfed in light, transforming into a bright supernova structure. They watched as its ears lengthened and long skirts of fur erupted from its body. A few people in the pokemon center turned to look in surprise as Audino continued its transformation. After a while its skin stopped glowing and the light dimmed down. N gasped in shock as Audino opened its eyes.
What were once blue irises was now a pair of bright crimson eyes that stared back at him. Audino’s pink and cream colored fur had transformed nearly completely into snow white. Long strands of fur floated gracefully in the air. The transformed Audino seemed to carry a brand new aura of grace as it slowly walked back over to Juniper.
Alder’s jaw had dropped completely open, his eyes wide in surprise. “Wh…what just happened?”
N’s eyes were as wide as saucer plates. Juniper chuckled, reaching over to rub Audino’s head. “It transformed.” She stated simply. “The stone causes Pokémon to evolve more than they can already. Mega evolution, if you will.”
Alder turned back to his Accelgor. “Why can’t you do that!?”
“It can only happen to a few specific Pokémon.” Juniper explained. “I’m not completely sure why. But professors all over the region are researching the cause.”
“Can any of my other pokemon use the mega stone?” Alder asked hopefully, his hand reaching up to touch the chain of pokeballs around his neck.
“Unless you have an Audino, no other Pokémon in Unova can mega evolve.” She said, chuckling at the disappointed look on Alders face.
“Does it…hurt them?” N said softly, walking up to Juniper and Audino. “Forcing them to evolve past what should already be their limit?” He held out his palm gently. Audino came over and purred softly, rubbing its cheek against his hand.
“I don’t believe so, most Pokémon don’t seem too bothered by it.” Juniper replied, tapping her chin in thought.
N nodded in acknowledgement, then directed his question to Audino. “Does mega evolving hurt you?”
Audino shook its head, the white wisps from its ears trailing in the air as it moved. Oh no, not at all.
N smiled slightly. “What does it feel like, changing like this?”
I feel different. Audino replied, chirping and shaking out its ears. Like I’ve changed beyond my limits. But it’s a very natural feeling, no pain at all!
“Evolving past what is possible…” N murmured to himself. “That’s quite a formula to think about.”
He turned back to Juniper “Does anything else change other than well…” He gestured his hand at Audino “Their appearance?”
“Well, the main reason why people mega evolve their Pokémon is to make them stronger.” She replied. “So their battling stats also increase.”
Alder scratched his chin. “That’s incredible, no wonder you wanted us to see this. The potential for new battling surprises is endless!”
“The ability for people to control how strong their Pokémon get, wouldn’t that cause some people to abuse their power?” N said with concern.
“Well from what I know, mega stones are quite rare. And they are tracked to make sure they don’t end up in the wrong hands,” Juniper replied. “I know that they’re usually given only to specific trainers or people with certifications.”
Audino could see the worry in N’s face. It tilted its head towards N reassuringly.
Don’t worry. Mega stones only end up with people who put them to good use. Audino chirped, turning to look at Professor Juniper. I’m sure the professors know what is good for us!
N smiled with relief, scratching Audino behind the ear. “I’m glad to hear that.”
“Your son gets along so well with Pokémon.” Juniper noted to Alder with a laugh. “It’s very sweet to see him caring so much.”
“Ah it’s just in his nature.” Alder replied, straightening up with a hint of pride. He then frowned. “Wait, is this transformation permanent?”
“Oh no it’s not, I can remove the mega stone from my bracelet and Audino will return to normal.” She turned back to Audino, holding up her arm with the mega stone bracelet. “Audino! Do you want to go back to your normal evolution?”
Audino nodded. Yes please.
“Audino says it would like to transform back.” N translated, giving Audino one last rub on the head before heading back to stand next to Alder.
Juniper smiled. “Are you ready?”
Audino nodded once again, then closed its eyes as she popped the mega stone out of the bracelet. As soon as the stone was out, Audino erupted into another shower of light. Its long trailing wisps shrunk back down as it reverted back into its original form. N found himself peering into its light blue eyes once again as it opened its eyes. It’s long, snow white fur was nowhere to be seen.
Juniper handed the mega stone back to Alder. “Thanks for the demonstration, that was incredible.” He said in bewilderment, taking the stone from her hand.
“I figured you two would be interested, mega evolution isn’t so common here in Unova.” Juniper replied, slipping the bracelet back into her pocket.
N peered at the stone. “What do we do with it now?”
“Well I don’t really have a use for it, I suppose the two of you can keep it.” She winked. “Let’s just say it’s a distant relic of the Kalos region, a gift for you from me.”
“Thank you!” The two of them chorused together, accepted the gift gratefully.
“No problem, it’s always a pleasure talking to the Champion family of Unova.” Juniper said, smiling. “I have some work back at the lab, but if you have any questions about the stone just call me on the Xtransceiver!”
“Will do! Always a pleasure to see you Juniper.” Alder replied, waving to her as she turned away. The three of them bid their farewells as Juniper disappeared out the doors of the Pokémon center. Alder nudged N with his arm, a playful smile on his face.
“We’re using your Xtransceiver N, I haven’t even figured out how to set mine up.”
N just rolled his eyes and laughed.

🏜️—desert resort, unova.
Seeing the "statues" dotting randomly across the stretch of sand brings a knowing smile to Crys' face, squinting to her traveling companion with an all-knowing glint in her eye. "It's said that Darmanitan awaken from these statuesque states when tempted by Ragecandybars," she rattles around her knapsack, a look of disappointment following. "And, to think—I came all this way from back home with none to offer... bummer."
Awakening dormant Pokemon is not the mission of the hour for the Champion slash aspiring Professor, and certainly isn't what drove her to post up outside of Unova's Desert Resort for the last several weeks with eyes glued to the skies.
As a UAP enthusiast, what with the recent sightings reported over the area, it was only natural for Crys to wind up trailing the hotbed of rumors circulating through this distant region.
Verifiable by credible sources, as well as the usual conspiracy theorists (people after her own heart), strange activity above the Desert Resort has been recorded for nearly a century—and, if the nature of the phenomena mentioned in reports is anything telling to whats been behind these recent occurrences, then Crys is determined to be the one to make direct contact with whatever it may be that has been watching from above, for so long.
That, or she'd die trying—were others not there to talk sense into her, that is.
Tumblr media
"Boy, roaming around in the heat is no joke... if you hadn't arrived with those extra canteens, I'm afraid we would've been goners." Buttercup seems to nod in agreement, the Heracross fluttering inches above the hot sands so as to not burn her feet. "My poor Bubbles doesn't care much for the grittier part of our investigations... some help she is!"
And, an investigation it is. Waiting for the cloak of nightfall for aerial surveillance to commence was a waste of time; Crys, ever the curious, knew traces from whatever had been visiting these wastelands in the middle of Unova had to be evident somewhere. Using every ounce of daylight to scan the dunes, the trenches, the valleys—it was all necessary to her line of work. No stone was to be left unturned, not in her presence.
"We are gracious you decided to join us, B." Rolling up a sleeve, the Johtonian wipes the sweat from her forehead; Buttercup's wings have about had enough, as she lowers herself to the ground. "Tell me—what's it been like, having May as a co-Champion? I know you missed her terribly."

Ooooooh, I don't know if it has already been said but when Akari/Kiki and Ingo goes back home, where do they spawn?
Could be a good plot that that just... fall from a space-time rift, in front of a camera, in front of an audiance.
The public seeing 2 people spawning from a portal with ancient-ish cloths: ...Wat
They wind up back in modern day Hisui, so in Sinnoh! Specifically where the temple was on Mount Coronet, so they get reverse eebied to the Spear Pillar. Its a bit of a waking up in the Temple of Time moment in OoT where everything is all different.
Them coming back doesn't immediately fix the rifts, little ones still occur in modern day for a bit, kind of like aftershocks to an earthquake before they finally stop. So Sinnoh's in a bit of a high alert at the moment, they actually paused letting young new trainers get licenses until it settles for their own safety. They dont want ten year olds getting brained by weirdly agressive pokemon
Akari actually gets hurt by one when some idiot ignores the current warnings in place. They're brought to a hospital in Snowpoint by some rangers with Ingo and thats when it gets weird. You got two amnesiac people, one who doesnt exist (Akari because not their real name). But Ingo at least knows his name so its like ok, they look for any missing people named ingo, bam subway boss ingo from unova comes up, Interpol gets involved, etc. Since Interpoll is involved Cynthia has to get involved and the more questions they get answred the more questions they have because HISUI?!?!? Arceus!?
They try to keep it hush hush because Interpol tries not to broadcast the whole ultra wormholes and space time rifts thing. Its an open secret in certain circles, like all the Professors know of it, the Leagues, etc but its kept a bit hush hush so not to alarm the greater public, or entice megalomaniacs.
Akari and Ingo were caught by some game trail footage but it was yoinked by Candice before it could get leaked. The only thing allowed were some identification photos. Ingo's was sent over to Unova to try and get in contact with his family for a DNA test to be run to confirm his identity, and that was a whole thing.
They float some pics of Akari around in Sinnoh because they figure Akari to be of Sinnoh origin. Theyre close but not quite because Kitakami.
So they're not youtube famous, though Ingo does manage to make a tweet from his Xtrans by accident when someone at the hospital got him a charger and that caused a whole mess lol.

Last pic of the three of the Subway Boss Family is cute! Quick question, does Akari call them Uncles, or one dad or both her dads? Or does she have different nicknames for both of them?
Short answer; Ingo is 'dad' and Emmet is 'uncle' but she considers both terms to be pretty much interchangeable and is very confused when others don't. Ingo is the one who legally adopts her and Emmet is officially her uncle. That being said both take pretty much the same amount of responsibility in for her.
Long answer; Fic upon ye
It took months before Akari felt truly safe enough to let her new guardians out of sight for very long. Emmet and Ingo didn't blame her. Having been abandoned once was already traumatic for such a small child. She would throw tantrums when left unattended, even if only for the night while they slept in rooms adjacent. Eventually, they conceded and took turns having the second-hand crib (donated by a colleague whose children had outgrown it) in their rooms lest the neighbors start to worry. For one with such small lungs, she could scream very loudly.
At least on that front, she could have really been Ingo's daughter.
That was what they had eventually decided on when almost a year had passed and they realised they couldn't give her away. The intention had been to only foster her until her absentee parents were found. She had somehow become separated from them on their watch, and as such, it was their duty to ensure the safety of their young passenger. But there had been no progress. So they asked to keep her.
Ingo was more eloquent, so both brothers agreed it would be easier for him to argue their case. He became a dad, and Emmet an uncle.
Akari didn't refer to either as such.
Her Galarian was poor. Not unsurprising with her age and seeming newness to Unova. Instead she bestowed on both sloppily pronounced titles they didn't understand the meaning of. It was hard to interpret what she wanted at times, but she seemed content. She was happy and healthy and that was all that mattered.
Ingo and Emmet weren't sure she fully comprehended what adoption meant. The social worker had explained in her language, but she was still very small. Regardless, she became more confident with time. She stopped trailing them like a caboose and became more willing to be left to her own devices so long as at least one brother remained in the apartment. Her separation anxiety improved until finally it seemed worthwhile to chance finding her a place in the preschool downtown, close to the station, so that hopefully they could return to work as normal.
The first day she was left at the school it was hard to tell whether guardians or child was more nervous. Ingo and Emmet got very little work done that day.
"What if the other children treat her poorly?"
"She is upset. She hates us for leaving her."
"It is very difficult to make friends, she doesn't speak the same language, they might be mean to her."
"We left her. Like her old parents."
After spending the last hour of their shift in the office, staring at the clock and making very little progress on actual paperwork, they finally broke and left to pick Akari up.
But Akari was not upset.
She bounded up to them happily, chattering away incomprehensibly with the odd word here and there in understandable Galarian. Emmet nodded along, hiding any confusion behind the usual smile. The girl grabbed at Ingo's gloved hand—her own small enough to only close around a finger—and tugged. He obliged and hunched down to her eye level only to immediately have a paper shoved in his face. It was a drawing of three stick figures on a printed out page with cheery bubble letters reading 'family' in one corner. Apparently; the product of today's work.
The girl continued babbling away, the few parts he understood being adjectives describing her day. She then beamed proudly, pointing at each of the other parents in the process of collecting their children. As if explaining a difficult concept, she began to recite as she pointed:
"Mom, dad! Mom, dad! Mom, dad!"
"Moms and dads! Yes, excellent! Bravo!" Ingo praised, patting her head gently. She looked back at him happily before her face scrunched up in confusion. Slowly she raised her hand again, pointing right at Ingo's face making him go cross eyed as he tried to look at the tiny finger inches from his nose.
"Dad."
Ingo froze. His mouth fell open as he floundered to respond. She continued, pointing at Emmet.
"Mom."
Ingo broke out of his startled silence. Emmet's mouth fell open, his face going red. It was enough to make Ingo burst out laughing. He took the small child by the shoulders and pulled her into a hug while Emmet sputtered in the background.
"No, Emmet is 'uncle'. No mom, yes dad." He shook his head fondly, tilting his hat down to hide the tears building in his eyes. "Yes dad. Moms are girls."
He could practically see the gears turning behind her bright slate eyes as she struggled to comprehend the meaning.
"Moms girls…" She bit her thumb, before brightening. "Elesa!"
Ingo broke down laughing, joyful tears shining in his eyes.
Just wait until Elesa heard that one.

A Father's Resolve - Ch 9
Ingo returns after a decade - with two extra cars in tow. Years later, his kids are swallowed up by time in the same way he was. Will he be able to find them? Will they be able to make it out alive?
Word Count: ~3000
The twins wound their way through the Heartwood to hopefully find this Warden that they'd been told about. Their teams were trained up decently and they were having a grand time trying to write about Buneary.
“Lookit her!” Akari squealed. “She's so cute!” She ruffled the soft down of the little rabbit she'd caught. It flicked its ear at her in annoyance. Rei did have to admit it was adorable, even if it had a horrible attitude.
“I got that Silcoon we saw. I'd say let's see what this Warden wants and how to study Kleavor.” Rei tossed a ball in the air and caught it idly as his sister caught up to him on the dirt path, shaking the water from her shoes. She'd fallen in the stream trying to scramble back from a suddenly-livid Psyduck.
“Fine.”
Rei rounded the corner, seeing some man-made structures come up in his field of vision. A gateway appeared down the path, with some stone bowls carved from a large boulder in the middle of the arch. And in front of this stood a boy wearing soft pink and a hat that Rei could only describe as a cowboy hat. He was maybe ten with red curly hair and a stern expression on his young face, still trimmed with baby fat.
Rei stared at the hat. He'd seen it before-
“That's Clay's hat,” Akari whispered to him in Unovan. “Remember fighting his Excadrill? That's totally it. Look at the gem.” She was right. The same green jewel set in the hat, square and sparkling, surrounded by gold trim on white leather.
“Didn't… didn't Clay say his family was from another region? That they immigrated to Unova?” Rei murmured back.
Akari simply nodded.
This was getting weird. First their mother, now Clay's… grandfather? Great-grandfather? More generations? And he was younger than them!
“I'm Lian, Warden of the Lord of the Woods, Kleavor. You're here to see the mighty Kleavor, ain't ya?” the boy called to them in greeting. Even his voice sounded like a younger version of Clay's! The boy crossed his arms, a smug look on his face. “I can see it on ya. You heard about his awesome power and now he's only become even more powerfully awesome.” He smirked into the crook of his elbow as the twins stepped up to him, finally. “That bolt of lightning charged him… maybe it was almighty Sinnoh's doing? Either way, as much as it pains me, I must turn you away.”
“But we need to!” Akari blurted out. Lian's eyes flicked to her. He grinned slyly.
“I must commend your passion, but unfortunately it is not safe. I have been given order by Irida to not let anyone see him right now. So back out now, lest you face the wrath of my Goomy.”
“I accept,” Akari said before Rei could even think.
“Akari-”
“Back up.” She shoved him back and cleared a small space for a battle. Lian sighed and whistled. A small pokemon appeared from behind the stone bowls, a purple blob of a creature. Rei hadn't actually seen a Goomy before but he decided he needed to find one because this thing was perfect. A dopey smile graced what could be called its ‘face’  it had two small eyes and a big grin and it slowly trailed along and Rei needed to get a Goomy right now.
“Goomy, let's try to ooze some sense into these interlopers!” Goomy gave a cry of challenge and oozed its way to the battlefield.
Akari picked a ball carefully and tossed it out. Riptide, newly evolved, gave a small cry of its own. It stanced itself up, preparing for a long battle…
That did not last long.
Riptide did not take very long to tear through the small Goomy. It was clear that although the boy cared deeply for his partner, it was not very well-trained. He sagged a bit as he conceded defeat. “I still can’t let you through,” he sighed. “It is too dangerous. No one can get through to my Lord- Irida?”
The twins turned to see the girl behind them, watching with wide, sad blue eyes. “Lord Kleavor is descended from a pokemon blessed by almighty Sinnoh itself. I did not want to have to throw up our hands and ask for help from an outsider but… every moment that he remains like this, the danger grows. If he hurts more people and pokemon, it may cause problems with the Diamond Clan and the Galaxy Team.” She paused, knitting her brows. “I hear that it was that bolt of strange lightning that changed him. Perhaps it was sent by that faulty god the Diamond Clan worships…?” Rei had to restrain himself from pointing out how stupid that sounded. “Regardless, do you both have any ideas how to help him? We care greatly for Kleavor; he means a great deal to our Clan. We do not want him to be hurt.”
Rei glanced at his sister, who shrugged. It was obvious that they may be on their own with this one. It was hard to say what was wrong with him what they hadn’t even seen him yet. “We’ll figure something out,” was all Rei said.
“Excellent!” Irida cut between the two and approached Lian, who still stood proud, even if Rei could now see the cracks in his small facade. He was just a boy with a big job he couldn’t handle by himself - and it tore him up on the inside. Rei could see how his eyes darted around, how they desperately scanned Irida’s face for some semblance of good news. How his small hands shook. “Lian and I will gather some of Kleavor’s favorite foods in an attempt to get close enough to make a proper offering. As for you, try to find a way to quell his frenzy, even if you must traverse every corner of Hisui!”
The twins took that as a dismissal and nodded, turning and striding away. Once out of earshot, Rei asked Akari in Unovan, “What are we even supposed to do? I still don’t know what all this is about.”
Akari debated as they snuck around the alpha Bibarel, staying quiet until they had passed by safely and were heading up Deertrack Heights. “Let’s ask Laventon. He’s a scientist, right? Maybe he’d have a clue.”
—----------------------
Emmet shivered as he pulled his coat a little tighter around him. Why was the office so cold? He glanced up over the pile of paperwork he had in front of him, checking the face of the clock on the wall. The little train-shaped hand had a smokestack that pointed to the number five. It was already almost 6:30? Emmet leaned back in his chair, sighing to himself as his back popped. How long had it been since he’d moved? Four hours? His gaze traveled the room as he sat motionless in the cold.
The walls had several framed photos and posters. The posters were mainly older Gear Station signs and advertisements for past events they had done, like a battle bracket one year for challengers or a holiday or New Year’s event. Emmet’s favorite was the spooky one, personally. Ingo always liked the spring decorations, the small flowers and the pastel colors. The twins had been split on the battle bracket and, for Rei, the scavenger hunt to collect every sticker hidden away on the platforms. The prize for finding them all was an authentic conductor’s hat, though he’d never cared for that. He had plenty.
There were several photos dotting the area around the two desks, as well. Photos of himself and his team, Ingo and his teams (from Hisui and Unova, as he hadn’t had the chance to release his Hisui team before returning), the twins as they grew up, both with and without their starters, Elesa with all four of them, even a family reunion photo with Drayden and Iris and their extended family on his side. Emmet’s favorite had to be the one he kept on his desk, from when the twins were younger. Ingo’s kids were maybe eight years old, staring intently into the water under Tubeline Bridge, watching for any sort of movement. That is, until Iris had sent her Lapras into the water to prank them, having it pop its head out and making the two scramble back onto the bank with a strangled yelp, landing in a very undignified way on the muddy land on their bottoms. The photo had been taken just as the twins were yelling, Lapras’s face in a soft smile as it ‘greeted’ them. Iris was already in stitches, doubled over in laughter. Even Drayden had chuckled, his eyes shut in merriment, leaving Emmet to laugh openly. Only Ingo hadn’t truly laughed, though his eyes had twinkled as he held it in and made sure they were alright. Other than some bruised pride, they had been perfectly fine.
He looked at the goofy photo. Emmet had pulled out his camera as soon as he’d seen Iris sneakily send her pokemon into the water someway upstream. It had been taken just downstream, so he could get everyone’s faces from afar. The kids’ eyes were wide as they leapt back - the photo still had them in mid-air, their arms blurry from reeling backwards. Emmet felt that familiar grin creeping up his face as he studied the photo. It always made him smile. Lapras had offered itself to being petted as an apology afterwards, and had even ferried the kids around on its shell for a bit on the water.
Emmet sighed. He put the photo back and stood up, stretching. A deep sense of melancholy settled itself into his ribcage, sitting more heavy than a stone. His face drooped. It was much harder to make memories like that when the person - or rather, people, in this case - were missing.
He checked his phone. A message from Drayden checking in, that he hadn’t heard anything yet about the missing kids, but he’d keep searching, he would always keep searching. Iris hadn’t heard anything, either.
Keep up your hopes, Emmet. They aren’t gone for good. You told me that the first time we went through this, and I know you know it now.
Emmet typed a response as he grabbed his stuff, his day bag now slung over his shoulder. He made sure to unceremoniously dump a bit of the paperwork on Ingo’s desk and to shove some of the more urgent items into his bag. You are correct. I know that. But I am not the one who needs convincing.
A moment passed as Emmet grabbed his personal items and opened the door to the office. He shut off the lights as he did, making sure not to waste needless power. He made his way down the hallway, checking again for a message. To his surprise, there was one. Drayden usually did not answer this quickly. I’m sure. Perhaps me and Iris can stop by sometime. Try to break him out of the horrid spell I’m sure he’s still under. It’s been how long now? This was about the time you became despondent.
He entered the control room. Two or three Agents milled about, checking in on the monitors and speaking in low tones. They looked up as Emmet entered and waved to him. “Everything steady?” Emmet asked them.
“Sure is, Boss. Just passengers and us left for the night shift. Only engine Orange being ran for the overnight shift. All others are already in the warehouse being assessed and cleaned.” The olive-skinned woman pulled up a camera feed, making it larger on the biggest screen in the center. It showed several large engines being serviced by night crew.
“Perfect.” Emmet put a cup in the coffee maker by the door and pressed what flavor he wanted. Mostly black, just a bit of cream. “Need anything else from me? I know I disappeared today. Lots of paperwork to catch up on.”
“I don’t think so, Boss.” A pale man with glasses swiveled in his chair to face him. “Have a good night. We’ll see ya back here tomorrow morning. Wish Boss Ingo our best.” The other Depot Agents nodded solemnly. Though it had never been formally announced that the kids were missing, they all certainly knew. It was taboo to talk about it in the station, but the Agents were always sure to leave kind regards and if Ingo didn’t come in for a few days, it was never mentioned.
“You as well. All aboard,” Emmet responded, more out of habit than anything. He snagged his cup and placed a lid on top as he snuck out of the station. He checked his phone again, typing out a response to his uncle. If you want to see him acting more like a stale piece of bread than a human, consider yourself invited. It’s hard to get him to do anything these days. I’ve been holding down the Station more often than not. Even if he does go in, he just stares at the wall. I’ve never seen him so invested in a book in my entire life than the history books he reads.
He waved to the Agent by the door as he swung open the glass doors to the station and swept out into the warm night. Emmet sighed in contentment as he clutched his coffee. The sky was that ethereal orange seen across Unova. Light pollution had its large claws sunk deep into the region, and unfortunately, no night was truly the inky black he remembered on his trip to Alola with Ingo all those years ago. Street lights threw that ugly yellow undertone to everything that they always did. Quite a few people were out tonight, though Emmet supposed that was normal for seven at night on a Thursday in the summer. He wondered if there were any events, musical or battle-oriented or otherwise, that were going on soon in Nimbasa. There was almost always something. He passed under the one that flickered as he walked, checking his device yet again. A certain someone else I can think of was much the same. We will come by this weekend. Don’t worry about making the house too clean, we’ve definitely seen worse. Emmet could almost hear his uncle’s soft chuckle that accompanied it. Is there anything we should bring as well? Food, pokemon treats, anything of that sort?
I don’t think so, Emmet typed, walking under another street light. He could see the bus stop in the distance. A few others were already at the stop, waiting for the next bus to arrive. He stood just outside the covered bench, leaning on a lamp post as he typed. I need to do some grocery shopping soon, so let me know if you want anything specific to snack on. It’s mostly just me doing things in the house these days. The Joltik aren’t as rowdy, either. The next clutch hasn’t hatched just yet and most of last year’s have already relocated to Chargestone and the tunnels.
This will be your eighteenth clutch, correct?
Emmet glanced up as he thought about when he had first started officially breeding them. It would have been toward the tail end of Ingo’s absence. Elesa had convinced him that he needed some hobby other than going to work all the time, and she had remembered him talking about getting into breeding when he was younger, so she had bought him a book about the basics of pokemon breeding. That must have been during the eighth year of Ingo’s disappearance, and if he’s having one clutch a year and its been about ten years since he reappeared-
“Subway Boss Emmet?” Emmet blinked himself from his thoughts and glanced around. The person who had spoken was an older woman sitting on the bench. No one else around paid them any mind, some with earbuds in, some engrossed in something on their Xtrans.
“Hm?” Emmet hummed to the woman, alerting her that he’d heard what she’d said. He let his hand with the phone screen fall somewhat, turning his attention to her.
The woman had very light hair, almost white, long and very wispy, held up in a dark hat. She also had a dark dress. It almost looked like she was dressed for a funeral. She smiled up at him, the wrinkles around her eyes deepening in the glow of the orange street lamp above them. “I heard about what happened recently. Things will become right again for you.”
He blinked. Honestly, this left him at a loss for words. “I- uh. T-Thank you? Thank you.” He regained his composure. “It will take some time, but I know the tracks will be rideable once more.”
She chuckled as she looked up. Emmet could see the bus in the distance. “It will indeed. My great-great niece would love you. She is very into history, you see, much like my nephew was… oh, what a strong-willed man, he was. Is! That never left him.”
As she rambled, Emmet’s mind was reeling. Who was this woman? He didn’t think she’d ever seen him before. The fact that she recognized him by sight alone was nothing odd, he was something of a local celebrity, especially in uniform. He was about to ask what she meant when she glanced around again and shook her head. “It seems my stop is coming. I wish you could meet my lovely niece. She would want to talk to you for days about Hisui and the heroes-”
“You know about Hisui?” Emmet asked incredulously. He needed to know more. He needed-
“Good luck, Emmet. Keep your brother strong. The children are looking for him.” The bus’s headlights engulfed his vision for a moment, making him blink. As soon as he opened his eyes to ask her what she meant, the bench was empty. Emmet whirled around, looking for the old woman, but she was nowhere to be seen. The door to the bus opened with a mechanical hiss. Other passengers began to climb aboard. Emmet gave one last glance around as he climbed aboard next, shivering under his coat, trying to shake the feeling of being watched.

Cube's Big-Ass Pokemon Conspiracy Theory
Warning: this is a LONG post, so buckle in
KINDA SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE SCARLET VIOLET DLC
OKAY
So what's this whole conspiracy theory about, you may be asking?
Simple!
It's one of two answers:
1. There's gonna be an antagonist that is responsible for a large portion of plot points in the games
OR
2. There's a phenomenon that's responsible for a lot of the plot points in the games
Let me be clear and say that there's no proof that any of this is actually feasible or realistic, but there's too many correlations for me to not point them out.
Let's start with the plot point that made me start thinking about all this.
Part 1: Amnesiacs
While this is what got me on the trail of something bigger going on, I don't entirely feel like this has much credence to a background plot. Nevertheless, it's happened enough that it needs to be mentioned.
Every few games or so, there has been a character that has appeared in a region that was not their home with their memories lost.
The three main examples of this are Looker in Hoenn, Anabel in Alola, and Ingo in Hisui.
Interestingly, all three of them share something in common, being that the implied method that they got there was through some sort of portal (Hoopa Ring, Ultra Wormhole, and Space Time Distortion, respectively).
With the possibility of an exception with Looker, seeing as we don't know much about his background, none of them were given any sort of mention of regaining their memories (Ingo only got flashes of his, and Anabel didn't seem to remember much at all).
Three times seems to imply something other than coincidence, but it's not provable and very well may just be a reused plot beat.
The next part, however, seems more likely to be connected in some way.
Part 2: Crystals, Light, and Transformation
Ever since Gen 6, Pokemon has made a point of including crystals and light into every gimmick they've added to game pairs, with transformation being a consistent aspect of the gimmicks as well.
The list is as follows:
Mega Evolution (Crystal: Mega Stones, Transformation: Mega Evolution)
Z-Moves (Crystal: Z-Crystals, Light: Mentioned energy used for Z-Moves)
Dynamax (Crystal: Wishing Stars, Light: Dynamax energy, Transformation: Gigantimax)
Terastallization (Crystal: Tera Crystals, Light: Tera Energy, Transformation: Terastallization)
In addition, multiple Legendaries were made to use light and/or crystals to, you guessed it, transform! They even retconned some Legendaries to be able to do it as well!
Groudon/Kyogre (Primal form through Orbs, which are visibly crystal)
Dialga/Palkia/Giratina (Needs their crystals to turn into Origin Form)
Solgaleo/Lunala/Necrozma (Necrozma transforms using light to merge with the other two, but needs its Z-Crystal to turn into Ultra Necrozma)
Eternatus (Its energy transforms pokemon around it into their Dynamax forms, and it has a Gigantimax form itself)
Koraidon/Miraidon (Created from the time machine through the use of Tera Energy from the crystals in Area Zero)
Ogerpon (Special Tera form, which uses light and crystals)
Terapagos (Do I even need to say anything with this one? It's a crystal turtle that uses light to transform.)
There could even be an argument for the Unova and Kalos legendaries, with the stone versions of the dragons, and the energy used by the very much crystalline Ultimate Weapon.
Even Pokemon Masters has the Sync Stones, which are rare, shining crystals that increase the power of a trainer's bond with their Pokemon.
It could just be that Game Freak and Nintendo like their crystals and transformations, but it's strange that they've kept using it for so long and so consistently!
Again, I could still be reading too much into it, but I just can't stop thinking about it.
To wrap things up, let's get into some hypotheticals.
Part 3: Speculation
This is more of a place for me to make shaky connections and ramble about my predictions on where Pokemon's gonna go next.
First of all, Legends Arceus has something about it's plot that bugs me. How did Volo and Giratina rip open space time? Giratina has NEVER been shown to have that sort of power, let alone the power to mess with its siblings to the point of driving them mad. It's said to have a quarrel only with humanity, and it actively came to Dialga and Palkia's aid in Platinum, so why do it in the first place? It seems a bit out of character.
And why did Arceus not give the player or Ingo a way back home? There could have at least been a cutscene or dialogue line or SOMETHING, but as far as we're aware, they're still stuck in the past, which is frankly awful.
Another question is where the hell did the AI professors go in SV? The time machine was never a time machine, that much is certain. It was basically an AI image generator, but for Pokemon, so there's no way that it could transport the professors through time, could it?
Lastly, something that's always bugged me is the fact that Arceus is the Alpha Pokemon. That implies there's an Omega Pokemon, right? You'd think that it might be Giratina, but nope! That's the Renegade Pokemon! So what the hell is the Omega Pokemon, if we'll ever get it? I will say that ORAS kinda messed with that, but Arceus is still the Alpha Pokemon, so eh? I'm just curious if they'll ever do anything with that. Maybe it's behind some of the odd phenomena in the games? There's certainly enough unsolved mysteries in those games.
That's about it! If you read this far, thanks for indulging me in my madness! I'm very much mentally ill about the silly monster games, and I demand answers that I'll likely never get, which is how I come up with this stuff lol.
Have a great day!

OFFSCREEN POST
———
(( OOC: uhhhHHH I dunno what to specifically tag this as but SOMEONE GETS FUCKED UP SO. BE AWARE ))
———
Yesterday, Blake’s frustration had been running high, and they’d been more than ready to execute this plan. Put an end to their organization’s schemes once and for all, before any more damage could be done. Throughout the course of the day, though, that sureness had all but completely fiddled out. Especially following that small argument they’d had with N only a few hours prior.
When they saw Cole come up those steps, though, they knew there wasn’t any turning back now. For better or worse, they had to follow through.
“You managed to find your way up here, I see.” N remarked, his gaze on the trainer several paces away cold and calculating. Waiting patiently for the other’s response. Blake stood at the king’s side, looking at nothing, while their heart pounded beneath the fabric of their uniform.
“Yeah, believe it or not, I’m not really all for the idea of you Plasma bastards waking up a Legendary Dragon in order to take control of the region,” Cole scoffed, crossing his arms and keeping that defiant stance he always held when facing off N. Or anyone who tried to stand in his way, for that matter. A Samurott stood at the ready by his side, fur bristled on end and the jagged point on its helmet glinting in the sunlight.
The king didn’t reply for a moment. Rather, he looked down at the Dark Stone nestled safely in his left palm, eyes tracing the lines of light reflecting off its smooth, dark surface.
“You’re definitely brave. That’s something I’ve always admired in you, you know.” N mumbled, gaze trailing back up to his opponent, though he showed no sign of amusement. “Your tenacity, your unrelenting will to do what you think it’s right. It’s a true shame that determination is so… misplaced.”
“Yeah, yeah, haven’t heard that one before,” Cole brushed him off with an eye roll. “Look, I’ve tried time and time again to just talk things out with you. To sort out our differences without a fight. But time and time again, you’ve refused. So here’s how this is going to go- you’re going to surrender the Dark Stone, not awaken an ancient power that’ll release hell upon Unova, and we’re all gonna go home happy! Okay? Please?”
N laughed at that, like he’d just been told a joke. Cole shot him a glare to affirm he wasn’t joking, but the king ignored it. “You’re sorely mistaken if you think unleashing chaos onto Unova and forcing Zekrom to bend to my will is my goal here. I’m not like the monsters who brought destruction down onto places like Galar and Unova. I plan to befriend Zekrom- earn her favor so she’ll help me pave the way for a better world.”
He clutches the Dark Stone tighter. “Once I do, I’ll defeat Alder, then stand at the top of the Pokémon League as its champion and issue out an order to all of Unova’s trainers- to release their Pokémon.”
“How exactly do you expect people to listen to you, then?” Cole argued. “Just because you’ll be champion and have a big scary dragon on your side doesn’t mean people aren’t going to resist… Believe it or not, there’s plenty of people in Unova who aren’t going to crack and give up on their Pokémon that easily.”
“Maybe not,” N concurred with a shrug. “But they will over time. One way or another, I will free the Pokémon of this world-”
“Look, are you just gonna keep monologuing at me, or are we gonna get this over with?” Cole cut him off, balling his fists in impatience. His Samurott gave a snort beside him. “I’m getting really sick of hearing this over and over again. I don’t wanna fight you- but if you won’t stop and listen to reason for even a second, then I’ll put an end to this myself.”
“You think you’re up to the task?” N challenged. Shadows around him began to warp and distort, before a Zoroark emerged at his side. The black and red fox carried a menacing aura, blue eyes seeming to glow in the darkness. “You might’ve beaten me in our previous disputes, but I was holding back for the safety of my friends. Don’t expect me to do so now.”
“So you’ve finally decided to stop being a wet blanket, huh?” Cole huffed, quirking a brow in doubt. He flicked his gaze towards his Samurott. “Looks like we’re doing this, then. Calder, battle ready!”
Without a beat of hesitation, Samurott responded and jumped into action, stomping out onto the stone floor that would serve as their battlefield and unsheathing one of its long scallop blades from the slot on its arm.
Nox didn’t even need a vocal command. He stalked forwards on all fours, red mane bristled up like spines and eyes trained on the Samurott meters away as he awaited N’s command.
The two trainers exchanged a few more words across the field, Cole murmured some words of encouragement to his Pokémon, N and Nox shared an affirmative nod. It all went by in a bit of a blur for Blake, words flying over their head until the first crack of claws and blades colliding together snapped the grunt out of the nervous daze they’d fallen into.
They jolted, alert and present now. Their eyes flicked back and forth between Nox and Calder, the two Pokémon becoming blurs of red, blue, black and yellow as they clashed, leaping here and there across the floor. Then their gaze fixed on Cole, who shot them a knowing look across the room. Then, they shifted to N- and the Dark Stone huddled securely under his left arm. Just barely in Blake’s field of reach from where they stood.
Was this it? Was this supposed to be their chance? The expectant glances from Cole in the corner of their eye didn’t go unnoticed. Their mind raced with questions and second guesses on whether or not they should really go through with this, bouncing back and forth between “Just grab it!” and “Don’t! Not yet!”. Dragons, they wish they had talked this out more with Cole beforehand. They wished they’d thought this through, instead of running off their reckless anger alone.
They froze. They waited. And waited. And waited. They could tell from here that Cole was growing anxious with their hesitation by the second, without even needing to look at him. They waited, watching the Pokémon exchange blow after blow until they both looked like they were at their wits’ end.
Nox, although bruised and battered with his fur sticking out every which way, made another jump at Calder. The Samurott faltered on its paws, but looked up just at the right moment to see the Zoroark closing it. With a mighty roar, Cole’s valiant and loyal starter swung its arm upward and snatched Nox in mid-air, claws digging into the collar of fuzz around his throat. With a just as lethal amount of force, he then slammed his opponent into the floor, cracking the marble underneath.
“NOX!” N shouted, panic bulging in his eyes at the sight of his best friend being crushed under the weight of the armored behemoth.
The Zoroark hissed and pried at the Samurott’s claws, but to no avail. Blake knew he’d be fine, though- Nox had survived way worse. The only reason Cole wasn’t claiming victory now was because this was it. N was distracted. Nox was pinned down. Blake could practically hear the younger trainer screaming “Now!” at them in his mind.
Not a second to lose. Blake’s arms shot forwards, almost like they were moving on their own. The second they felt the Dark Stone’s cool, smooth surface under the fabric of their gloves, they knew it was time to run. The artifact slipped seamlessly out of the king’s grasp in his distracted state, not even giving him a second to realize what was going on before Blake had turned heel and bolted.
“BLAKE!” The sound of N exclaiming their name was almost drowned out by the sound of their footsteps thundering up the steps, and the sound of their own heart practically reverberating in their ears. Fuck, I should’ve went down, the thought quickly brushed past their mind, realizing not only that going up was a ticket to a dead end, but they would’ve had Cole’s protection if only they’d ran the other way.
Too late now. For all they knew, the Shadow Triad could have been right behind them, and turning to stop and look back for even a blink could spell a sword cutting through them.
So, they ran. As fast as their feet could take them, and as swiftly as these narrow spiraling steps would allow. Up, around, up, around, faster, faster, up, around, they repeated the course of their movements over and over again to themself in their mind, if anything as a distraction from the immense strain on their body. Frigid cold stung their throat, turning it as dry as sand, and their lungs heaved violently with every shallow intake of the quickly thinning air the higher they climbed.
Why are there so many stairs? They wanted to choke out and collapse right then and there, but they didn’t. Practically wobbling and rocking from side to side, they continued their frantic ascent to the next floor, the final floor, where there wouldn’t be anywhere to run after that. Hopefully they could come up with something before then. Not likely, but they hoped.
The sky above was cloudy and dark, but there was still enough light out here compared to inside for Blake to be blinded as they erupted through the final passageway and emerged onto the tower’s peak. Squeezing their eyes shut, they stumbled across the flat ground, putting so much focus into not dropping the Dark Stone that they forgot about keeping themself upright. They lurched forwards and landed on the cold, scratchy ground with a thump, Zekrom’s slumbering form still clutched tightly to their chest.
Rolling over to their back, they gasped desperately up at the sky for oxygen, ragged breath almost coming out as pained cries. The wish of having an inhaler briefly crossed their thoughts, until they remembered they were still in the middle of a chase, and were in even deeper water now that they’d reached the top of Dragonspiral. No where else to go but down, and that was where some unpleasant fate- most likely immediate assassination by the Triad- awaited them.
Their best bet was to wait until everyone caught up, try to avoid whatever was bound to be thrown at them and make their escape downwards. Not a very sound plan, but the only one they had. Hopefully their body would hold out until then.
As the grunt stumbled back onto their feet, the screeching wind and their still heavy panting blocked out the sound of footsteps approaching, until a familiar voice rang out from behind-
“Blake! Stop!”
They looked back to catch a glimpse of tea green hair rise from the stairway, and took off like a frightened prey animal. They sprinted clumsily across the tower’s roof, tripping over themself and almost teetering smack-dab into a pillar at one point, miraculously managing to keep themself from getting a second face-plant full of rock.
The edge came up on them sooner than they would’ve liked. Blake skidded to an abrupt halt, scrambling away from the ledge like a newborn Deerling trying to walk. It was a long, long way down. The cloud cover up here was so thick, they could hardly see the expanse of ocean stretching out below the tower. Echoes of thunder crackled everywhere around them, and there was the occasional flash in the dark misty skies looming above. Any moment now, and a burst of rainfall could come crashing down on them all.
“Blake!” They whirled at the sound of his voice, almost knocking themself over with the amount of friction they used to turn. N stood barely a yard away, hair messy and wind blown under his now crooked hat. There were a thousand emotions flooding behind his storm cloud colored eyes, all wanting to burst out, but couldn’t- like they were clogged up in a drain pipe. Confusion. Hurt. Anger. Betrayal. The desperate, dwindling hope that this was all just a misunderstanding.
Nox dashed to his side. Blake noticed Cole and the Shadow Triad appear from the stairs over his shoulder.
It wasn’t until now that they felt the burning of hot tears flooding down their puffy, sweat-stained face. When had they started crying?
“Blake, what are you doing?” N croaked out, eyes searching them for an answer. “Give me the stone back-”
“No,” they sputtered out, taking a step back. Their voice wavered, but still held strong.
N paused, and looked at them with surprise. Then, his brows furrowed, and his tone became more stern. “Blake, give it back-”
“No!”
The wind whistled past. Silence.
“What are you doing?” N rasped out, his voice cracking. He looked ready to either cry or scream at them. Maybe both. It was such a stark contrast to his usual collected demeanor.
For a moment, Blake’s words caught in their throat. They knew exactly why they were doing this. But they knew trying to blubber out an explanation for themself again would be as pointless as it had been before.
“I… I can’t let you do this,” they declared.
There was nothing left to be said.
N clenched his fist, then unclenched again. All sorts of conflicting feelings were rising up in his chest. Reluctance burned behind his eyes, but still, he gave the command.
“…Nox,” his Zoroark’s ears perked up. “Take the stone back.”
Nox stood up on his hind legs, and crept forwards, like a predator closing in on its chase. Blake’s shoulders tensed, and they sucked in a sharp inhale as they took another step backwards. They felt their heel hover over an absence of ground, which caused their heart to do another leap in their ribcage.
Nowhere else to go.
Nox lunged. From the way he moved, Blake could tell he wasn’t aiming to hurt them. He was most likely planning to yank them away from the ledge, while snatching the Dark Stone back at the same time.
But that wasn’t what happened.
A burst of light exploded from the single Pokéball dangling on Blake’s belt. The form of an Axew appeared, but the light didn’t fizzle away like it was supposed to. Encased in a white glow, Petra threw herself onto Nox and tackled him to the ground. Once she was on his chest, her silhouette began stretch and grow. Her rounded tusks grew into sharp points, and new, stronger muscles began to materialize in her arms, legs, and tail.
Soon enough, the light dimmed out, and a Fraxure took her place. Petra’s sudden evolution left everyone around her with a gaping jaw, but the Dragon-type didn’t take a moment to stop and revel in her newfound strength and appearance. Instead, she hauled Nox over her head with a grunt, before throwing him into a nearby pillar without so much as a twitch of struggle.
“FRAAAAAAAA!” She bellowed in triumph, exposing her red-tipped tusks to everyone as a display of power. A warning not to mess with her. Or her trainer, for that matter.
“Petra-?” Blake sputtered out in shock, eyes sparkling at their Pokémon in awe. Of all the times she finally chose to evolve, she couldn’t have picked better.
It didn’t take long though for it to click that now wasn’t the time to stop and gawk, though. Blake felt the Dark Stone buzz under their arm, and gritted their teeth when they realized they couldn’t stay up here for long. The approaching storm was calling to the stone, slowly lulling Zekrom out of her centuries-long slumber.
Petra turned to them and understood- almost like she could sense the draconic energy thrumming inside the orb herself. She gazed at the artifact like a subject would at a ruler- but also with same the sense of urgency to get it out of here as her trainer.
Blake gave her a nod. “Come on!”
In a heartbeat, the Fraxure was at their side, acting as a barricade between them and N before they shoved past the king together. He stumbled around after them, but didn’t break into a pursuit just yet.
Instead, the first thing he noticed was the blue energy pulsing and building up beneath the surface of the Dark Stone. His breath hitched when he realized what was about to happen.
“BLAKE, DROP THE STONE-!”
Blake didn’t listen. They only read his shout as a desperate last attempt to get them to surrender, not as a warning like they should have. Everything happened in a blur around them as they made a beeline back for the staircase- Cole had sent out half his party to hold off the Shadow Triad, clearing a safe path for them. Petra had made it there first, and waited right at the first step for her trainer.
Blake was just seconds away from the stairs. Seconds away from getting away. Seconds away from saving Unova, possibly the world, from putting an end to all of this-
The sky flashed. There was a deafening, crackling boom, and Blake barely knew what was happening before an agonizing, indescribable burning shot down the length of their left arm.
It felt like it had been torn clean off, or maybe fizzled away into cinders like a sheet of paper. But, it was very much still there, reduced to a sizzling black chunk of flesh as Blake’s body hit the floor like a sandbag.
Not everything went black right away. They stayed conscious long enough to hear a scream of their name. Someone rushed to their side to hold them. They couldn’t tell who. They figured Cole, but the voice sounded a pitch too deep.
Raising their eyes to look up took the same amount of effort it would to lift a mountain, but they did anyway. Perhaps they were hallucinating, but their gaze met N’s. Everything was so blurry, they couldn’t discern his expression. But fragments of his voice cut through the haze and reached their ears.
“No no no no, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry, please- don’t-” They’d heard him sad before. They’d heard him cry before. They’d never heard him so broken before. “Stay with me, don’t close your eyes, just st-”
“…ay…”
“…with…”
“…m…”
Were they in a dream?
They were on the floor. Their arm felt numb, the edges still simmering with pain. Cole and Petra hovered over them, the former shouting things at them they couldn’t hear while occasionally glancing up at something.
Blake turned their head. More accurately, it tilted off to the side by itself, from the lack of strength to keep it upright.
They saw something. A shadow. No- claws. Scales. Sparks of electricity dancing under jet black hide.
Their gaze trailed up. A towering, dark figure, casting a menacing silhouette against the sky with the membrane of its wings. Rumbling with an ancient, newly reawakened power.
Zekrom.
N was on its back. His hair swayed to and fro in the wind. His hat was nowhere to be seen.
They extended a trembling hand out towards him. He was so far away. But they reached for him anyway. Please, don’t go-
He didn’t even look back.
Zekrom took to the skies.
He was gone.

I've decided Ingo and Irida can bang once, under sex pollen circumstances, because it would be hilarious.
My ideal is that it's actually only Ingo who gets sex pollened, so poor Ingo is kind of a hot mess and meanwhile Irida is totally fine and normal and just trying to take care of her Warden. Hisui has different values and views than Unova, and Irida just. She does not care. She doesn’t see what the big deal is. She thinks Ingo is the weird one. And I think Ingo would be appalled by his own behavior later and be embarrassed about it and he's cute and funny when he's suffering through his own self-imposed Catholic Guilt akldjlafsjdlka
Ingo has some weird reaction to a pokemon attack or whatever on his way to the main settlement, so he isolates himself in an empty hut reserved for clan members from outside of the icelands. Irida eventually goes to check on him, because this is extremely unusual behavior. Ingo is typically pretty social, and as clan leader, he always goes to her to announce his arrival first thing.
Irida finds him basically in a rut, Ingo has shoved himself into a corner of the bed up against the wall and bundled up under all the blankets, all she sees at first are two silver cat eyes staring out at her. He feels weird, like he's burning up with a fever, and he can't sit still, he keeps shifting around uncomfortably. Irida asks what's up with him and Ingo takes way too long to answer, he keeps trailing off like he can barely think and just staring at her.
Irida finally declares that she knows what's wrong with him, she's seen this before! And if they leave this alone, it'll get way way worse before it gets better, but luckily Irida knows what to do for it! Ingo sags forward with relief because oh, thank goodness, he feels wretched, like the worst flu and just miserably uncomfortable, it's already been a couple hours and he can't take much more of this.
And then he sits back up and nearly keels right over again because WHY ARE YOU STRIPPING?!?!?
Irida: ??? You've seen me bare before, we've been in the hot springs together more than once?
Ingo: BUT THIS ISN'T THE HOT SPRINGS. ///
(Ingo says this facing the wall with his hand over his eyes because he turned around so fast it made him dizzy skzjskskx)
Ingo is very determinedly staring at a spot on the wall and he nearly jumps out of his skin when Irida just casually crawls up onto the bed and sits behind him. Irida tells him he can suffer through it if he really wants to, of course. She doesn't really get why he would, but she's seen people make that decision before. The clan will watch over him until it passes. Ingo asks how long it will last, because he already plans on doing so.
Irida: Days.
Ingo: ...
Irida: Several days, sometimes.
Ingo: ......
Irida: The longest recorded was maybe almost a fortnight?
Ingo: ............
It's only been hours and Ingo is already feeling desperate, and he's going to be like this for days? Possibly over a week? And Irida mentioned it would get worse? Ugh, just kill him.
But then Irida presses up against his back and even through all his clothes and the blankets, Ingo can feel her body and it's weirdly relieving for his current condition, like a heat pack on a sore muscle. Irida tells him he can do that, OR he can just let her help him. No one's ever died of this or anything, but it can get dangerous. Irida wants to help! Ingo is one of hers now. And she doesn't want to risk the life of one of her people.
Ingo doesn't really say anything, but he uncurls a little bit and stops gripping the blankets around him quite so tight, which she takes as a good sign! He has his knees drawn up to his chest, so she has to straddle his feet and lower legs a bit to make it work, but Irida manages to wedge herself between Ingo and the wall so she can at least get him to look at her and give her a straight answer. Ingo tries to start speaking a couple times, but he can't quite seem to string words together, he trails off just like earlier, staring at her like how Irida has seen people stare at the hot springs after being half frozen in the wastes of the icelands.
Irida nods and tells him physical touch is supposed to help, takes the hand that Ingo hadn't even realized he'd reached out, and sets it on her shoulder. She manages to get him to give her his other one, too, and sets it on her waist, and Ingo sighs. It really does help. It's not even that it feels good, it's just that he feels less bad.
Irida presses in closer, happily and proudly rambling poetic about how it must be a blessing of Almighty Sinnoh, that the cure for something so terrible is simply for two bodies to share the same space together so closely they interlock, isn't it nice?
The next morning, Ingo wakes up all groggy, and just kinda lays there blinking at the ceiling for several minutes until he realizes he hears someone else in the hut with him. So he rolls over and almost immediately has a fucking heart attack because there's Irida, still naked, kneeling in front of the fire and poking at with a stick trying to get it going again.
Ingo finally croaks out a quiet little please help me and Irida pats his arm and tells him of course she will. He's her Warden, he can lean on her when he needs to. 💕
She has bruises! And handprints! And oh god, did he seriously leave those bite marks on her?! NOOOOOO-
He behaved as though a depraved animal! A beast!! He shouldn't even be allowed near people anymore!!
Ingo is facing the corner, moping and red-faced and dealing with his Catholic Guilt, and meanwhile Irida is trying to decide what she wants for breakfast VSKDKXJKSKXKX
===========================
(About three weeks later, just when he's almost able to look her in the eye again, Ingo goes to Irida to report on some happening in the highlands. Irida pats him and tells him good boy. Ingo lights up and all but purrs for a second before his brain catches up like WAIT WHAT, NO.
Irida: Oh. Is that not ok? You liked being called that that one time.
Ingo, steaming red face in his hands: MY LADY, PLEASE.)
((Gaeric is unfortunately within earshot when this happens, and he laughs so hard he wheezes, and then when he and Irida depart, he slaps Ingo on the back so hard he stands straight for a few minutes afterwards ndodjwkskmdkx))

rural unova sucks tbh the vibes are so weird.. i heard rumors that there was a lot of zoroarks in the area and they use illusions to trick you into thinking they’re someone you know to scam you, it’s rlly sketchy and makes me scared to walk home at night :-(
from what ive heard most zoroarks are just into secrecy and granola bars. you'll prob be safe just carry a pack of trail mix

You got any headcanons about Gen 5?
It’s my favourite generation of Pokémon :)
So I’m taking this and running with it because you didn’t clarify what kind of headcanons. So Ash is defiantly aged in this one
Cilan is the one who gets Ash into weed. Not even smoking but just edibles.
Ash got his ass rocked by a Seismitoad while fucking around in a muddy pond. it was under the water and he stepped directly on it's head by complete accident. he kept whining about the bruises so Cilan gave him a 5mlg just so he would stfu.
he's introduced to Mario Kart and Sonic somehow in between going through Castelia City and Nimbasa City
Ash has already started to box and dance before he get's to Unova so he ask's if the Nimbasa Twin's wanted to rumble around after their dual battle with him and Cilan.
Emmet refuses but Ingo takes Ash on and quickly becomes he best sparring partner Ash has ever had so far. in the end Ash extends his stay in the city for just a full day of boxing with Ingo, thankful that the man took a day off to do so.
if Alder was asked who he favored the most out of all the trainer's he met during that year, he'd pick Cilan without hesitation. Ash is a close second but Alder doesn't like how quick to anger he is, especially when trip's around.
Unova as a whole is defiantly a trail in patience for Ash. since Pikachu's aren't native to Unova a lot of rich people or influencer's try to put a price on the Pokémon. wanting Pikachu for their own gains.
it take's everything in Ash not to swing at Iris near the middle of their travels because she hadn't dropped the 'kid' thing yet. in reality he doesn't lift a finger but mentally Iris has most likely died at least thrice by now.
the reason why is most likely related back when he was traveling through Kanto and how Misty bit at his heels for acting like such a kid despite Ash being 10 years old. he feels guilty that Misty and Brock both had to grow up fast but that doesn't mean Ash has too. he's learned it's better to let the insult roll off his back and not put to much wind to the flames but Iris just won't give up.
Iris had grown up quickly as well despite being a year and a half younger then Ash and about three years younger then Cilan. she's jealous that could see the world through rose colored glasses and take them off when things start to get serious.
she doesn't realize that she can do that too until much later, like around the time when Ash is in Alola for a time frame, but it's hard for her to do.
both Iris and Ash realize that Cilan's a mean and sassy drunk, he's like a year older then the legal age drinking limit in Unova, until they get knocked out of the league during the final battles. sitting by the green haired chef who's somehow gathered a group of people so they could just shit talk.
it's definitely the first time Iris and Ash has seen this so their off to the side. contemplating on whether or not to approach their friend or not. choosing to just stay in ear shot and keeping Cilan in their eye sights in case the chef bolts off to somewhere.
Ash ends up tasering Trip at some point during the entire Unova arc. no one knows how it happened and Trip actively refuses to even speak to Ash and his friends afterwards for a while.
Ash and Iris originally thought that there was some hella sexual tension between Cilan and Burgundy only to realize that it went deeper then that.
apparently Burgundy liked another connoisseur girl that was a rank above her but that girl liked Cilan instead of Burgundy. the girl publicly turned down Burgundy before going and also publicly asking Cilan for a date.
what Burgundy doesn't know is that Cilan had left mid date after realizing just how bad the girl was. absolutely clueless about what happened to Burgundy.
Iris knows most of the story but Ash is the one who knows all of it. they both agree it's 'not their turf' so they don't bringing anything up.
Ash and Georgia are so neutral towards each other that if they were left alone in a room, it would be completely silent because they would just ignore each other.
Elsa's Tynamo has a thing for Ash's Pikachu after their gym battle and it takes a while to peel the eel Pokémon off of Pikachu after it gets healed up.
