Sexual attraction is always a values-neutral thing. Even if you think it would be wrong to act on a feeling of attraction with a particular person, such as if one or both of you is a monogamous relationship with someone else, or if you have a direct supervisory work relationship or some other power relationship that would make it inappropriate, or if it is a paraphilia that would not ever be healthy to act on directly, or whatever other reason, the attraction isn't wrong.
It's all about how you channel it. Like if you are attracted to someone you supervise at work, and you channel it into sexually harassing them, that's wrong. If you instead channel it into a productive and respectful work relationship, then that's great.
When discussing the ethics or morals of sex, we need to focus on people's actions, whether or not they hurt people, nothing more, nothing less.
There is no room for thought police in a sex-positive value system.
When you shame someone's attraction as being "gross" or otherwise bad, when you attack a person for merely being attracted to a person, you're promoting sex negativity. And you're hurting society by shifting the focus away from what people control, which is their actions.
People's behavior can be legitimately gross. Sexual harassment, any non-consensual behavior, abuse, disrespect, there are lots of harmful ways people can act on sexual attraction. There are also lots of positive ways, like healthy, loving sexual connections, positive ways to channel sexual tension in a non-sexual relationship, empathetic bonding when other people when you find you both are attracted to the same people and/or experience it in similar, or creative outlets like people writing fanfiction or creating other artistic works. And lots of neutral ones too like people just keeping their thoughts and feelings to themselves.

batmanisagatewaydrug: "If you're still enjoying Harry Potter you should be used as a bowling pin"
This from one of my favourite fandom blogs. I am so tired of losing all respect for people I like and look up to. I guess one of the upsides of this stupid discourse is the amount of so-called leftists showing exactly what their ethics and principles are worth.
Either you believe that hyperfixations, special interests and escapism in general are value neutral or accept that you're an ableist thought policing dickbag willing to make acceptable targets of vulnerable people for the crimes of the rich and powerful.
There are no exceptions. None. Unless you believe Global South people whose entire countries are being destroyed by brands like Nestle matter less than Global North trans people. If you're not going after people who drink Coca Cola you can shut the fuck up about Harry Potter fans who aren't even giving JKR any money.

“It’s about internalizing correct thought. Orwell understood very well the relationship between language and thought and how control of the former permits control of the latter: “[If] thought corrupts language, language can also corrupt thought.”
He devoted much of “1984” to exploring how the exercise of power over what may be said makes it easier to enjoy dominion over what can be thought, over how individuals understand themselves and their place in society. “Don’t you see,” says Syme, a lexicographer at the Ministry of Truth, “that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end, we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible because there will be no words in which to express it.”
The real-world version of that fictional effort to overhaul man’s inner life through controlling the language he is allowed to use in society is expressed more softly, though no less sinisterly. “New language… can become a useful tool for changing how people deal with each other,” say the Symes of today.
Allowing the subjective beliefs of people in the present to override the objective recording of events in the past would be extraordinary – a testament to the extent to which political correctness had overpowered reality entirely.
We now know the price of not speaking back, of letting others instruct us on what we may utter and how we must think. We now know the cost of allowing incursions into our inner lives. Man must be “master of his own thoughts,” said Spinoza. He must never be “compelled to speak only according to the diktats of the supreme power.” That is the first task of the heretic, then: to resist compulsion. To speak as he sees. To never fear to express the truth.”

People need to stop making up rules for things that don’t need rules
This in general but mostly I mean with moral superiority/purity. With a general decline in religion and with the enforcement of religion people are making up new things to be unnecessarily rigid about. I think this especially because I’ve noticed this in far left spaces and among the same groups that are very anti-establishment and government/religion.
Guilting people for things beyond their control is also wrong and not much better than religion just because it’s less systemic. So hot take maybe people should be less rigid about moral rules and beliefs

In 1984, telescreens offered entertainment and propaganda, while at the same time working as spy cams for the government so that all needed to be of one mind and on their best behavior for Big Brother was always watching. London was the chief city of Airstrip One, which was one the provinces of Oceania. The official language of Oceania was Newspeak, a form of politically correct inspired speech. The government continually rewrote history and news so that their opinion had never changed and everything lined up with their current world view and policies. Technically nothing was illegal, but the inhabitants lived in continual fear of the Thought Police. Many women who were especially loyal to the party joined the Anti-Sex league. Through propaganda, especially during the Two Minutes Hate, the masses were constantly reminded who their enemies were and were encouraged to express their hate. The world was in a continual state of war but who was enemy and ally kept changing between Oceania, Eurasia, and Eastasia. The continual warfare helped justify hardships like the rationing of almost everything as well the importance to loyalty of ones nation. ("1884", Bk)

ACAB is against cops using their position to hurt people for things that others get away with, the bias in it, how cops are given a pass to do a lot, that the system weeds out good and moral cops for "being a traitor to the cause." It is against how some people get away with horrific crimes while others rot in jail for little. It is about the misuse of power. It is not against people who set rules and moral boundaries, or anyone who thinks you're gross.
Censorship is the government censoring you. It's not people thinking you're disgusting. I'm so tired of this. You're not being censored for people not putting up with your harmful views.
Thought police comes from 1984. It is about people who make it illegal to have beliefs or even question something and make it a federal punishable offense with torture, imprisonment, and death. It is not people who think your ideology is disgusting. (Ironically, you're kinda being the thought police... not really ofc but you don't like us thinking you're wrong. It's a dumb comparison but following your beliefs everyone is a thought police because everyone has a "okay you're disgusting and you shouldn't think that and I'm not interacting with you guys.)
Nazis are nothing except followers of Hitler's beliefs and/or pro camps and thinks eugenics is good and everyone else is a curse that should be eradicated. "But he's antisemitic!" That's awful, but that's being racist, not being a nazi. Stop using that term for everyone holy shit

We are entering the final stage of the information war. DHS now has its own de facto "Ministry of Truth". And its new head is another "woke" intelligence official known for pushing propaganda and opposing free speech.
