There's one blorbo that doesn't communicate their needs/emotions because they don't want to be seen as a burden to other people. There is another blorbo that doesn't communicate their needs/emotions because they literally can not and find it difficult to communicate them effectively. These two blorbos are dating.
#I'll have you know this is about jmart#Like this is jmart to me#They're both emotionally constipated but in different ways#However I think it's also how they work?#Martin is scared of being seen as a burden because he's been treated as such...for a fair bit of his life#He always wants to be kind and approachable Martin because he thinks that's the only form people will accept him in#Like Martin can be bitchy but he doesn't do that because it contradicts that image#So all those little thoughts are left to steam and die in his head#With Jon I don't think he has to do that. He can be bitchy!#I feel like w/ Jon one can be as much of a bitch as one wants because you KNOW he'll be able to throw it back just as hard#But wait! There's more!#Jon wouldn't shy away from giving Martin what he needs or wants because that man would move hell to do stuff for people he loves#I am eternally pointing to MAG 22 when Jon immediately believed Martin's story and had him stay in the archives#Also when he fucking fought Elias to upgrade the security and co2 system in the archives#That was when he still RESPECTED the man!#Onto Jon#Jon is also mega emotionally constipated as in he doesn't know how to communicate his emotions effectively and carefully#In a way that won't have a fair amount of people wanting to sock him in the face#We've all listened to the show right? We get how he is. It's so hard to explain.#If only he could Compel himself into giving a coherent statement on his thoughts#And therefore his thoughts are also left to shrivel and die in his head#But then there's Martin who due to his upbringing is an *incredibly patient man*#He WILL get Jon's thoughts damn it. Jon WILL communicate with him.#Martin's already seen Jon's worst he can handle this#Now of course this only works when it. y'know works. But as long as they COMMUNICATE or get there somehow I think it's fine.#They take care of each other is what I'm saying#In an ideal world of course#Also damn it Jon really is a cat#Abellrambles#I don't think I worded the Jon to Martin portion well enough but Martin is so hopelessly devoted to this man-

we NEED "i'm just too soft for all of it." IWHT MEGUMI PLS IM BEGGING
I'M JUST TOO SOFT FOR ALL OF IT (m. fushiguro)
a/n: me making up medical shit LMFAO, repressed and emotionally constipated megumi, deadbeat dad t*ji, slight mentions and undertones of toxic masculinity
L’s MIDNIGHTS EVENT!
Tumblr media
Since he was four years old and still growing into his long-sleeved sweaters, Megumi has learned to heal his own wounds or almost die trying.
A routine that he now knows like the back of his hand, he'd returned from his latest mission with weeping cuts and exhaustion clear beneath his eyes, making a point to stop at the medical closet before returning to his dorm. With Shoko's workday over, he makes a mental note to visit her first thing in the morning when he wakes.
He can make it through the night, he always does. Because Megumi is a thinker. He plans until he can't and covers all bases for when they're stolen. He gets by.
What he didn't take into account was potentially running into you, of all people. Dormitory halls barren and almost eerie, he nearly curses himself for brushing shoulders as you turn the corner on the way back to your own room.
Your timing has always been wrong, or maybe it's right and Megumi can't differentiate between the two.
And now he's here, on the creaky wooden floor of the medicinal closet, with you kneeling beside him and prodding at his injuries with tender wrists.
Never one to be good with idle hands, Megumi fidgets and tries to brush at the dried blood on his shoulder. The action has both of you hissing—him in a jolt of pain and you in reaction to his hurt.
"Don't touch it," your voice falters to be stern, still coming out so gently. Megumi thinks about the irony of that—of how you can't even be sharp if you tried. You're too gentle, too soft to even sound hard momentarily.
Humiliated at the mere idea of doing nothing, at needing help, he shakily exhales and returns his attention to the floor.
When the damp cotton pad in your hand touches a bit too deep in one of his cuts, Megumi does his best to save face but can't help the grunt of breath that gets sucked into his lungs.
Immediately, he feels you retract from his skin and coo your apologies. Carefully returning your attention to the burning wound, you do your best to soothe him.
"Sorry, it's deeper than it looks. Almost over."
Megumi's response is quick and curt, like a cut of its own, "It's fine."
You nod hesitantly before grabbing the bottle of antiseptic and another clean cotton round. The cleaning of his wounds continues in silence, though your thoughts are louder than anything.
His injuries vary in size. Some deeper, fresher, than others. Some looking like one-hit victims and others a repeated attack. You do your best to take note of where he's sensitive, where he's hurting the most.
When you reach a certain scratch on his bicep, you're able to catch a glimpse of his face. Sweat beading on his forehead and damp hair sticking to his skin, Megumi bites the collar of his uniform to suppress any kind of noise (weakness) from you.
When he slips up and lets out a guttural muffled groan, you think you might audibly whimper yourself.
"You can yell if you want to," you try to help him in any way you can, "or squeeze my hand or—"
"I'm fine," Megumi attempts to bark again, but this time is different. It's not cold or sharp like it was last time. You can hear how it shakes against the echos of the closet, how it sounds like the burn of tears building in a sore throat.
And between the pain everywhere he still has feeling and the intimacy of you carefully caressing him, Megumi finds himself tearing up.
"Hey," he feels you whisper, attempting to caress his jaw and prompt him to look at you, "hey, you okay?"
He can't find it in himself to answer nor lift his head, so he sniffles like a kicked child and crinkles his nose in disgust at his own pathetic actions.
Megumi is tough, one of the toughest people you know. You've seen him more beat up than this and barely break a sweat. Your head feels light at the realization that something's wrong. He shouldn't be in this much pain from the familiar burning of antiseptic he's felt a dozen times over. Maybe it's from a cursed weapon, or a technique where—
A stifled sob cuts you off.
Like a glass cracking beneath pressure, you feel something inside you break. No longer caring about cleaning his cuts or avoiding sensitive areas, you can't stop yourself from wrapping around his hunched frame.
Megumi's breath hitches as you hold him, feels your hair tickling his neck when you rub his back and whisper.
"I'm sorry, I know, but you're doing so good, okay? And I'm almost done—"
"Don't do that," he bites.
Assuming he's referring to prodding at a specific wound, you flinch and loosen your grip, "Do what?"
"Talk to me like that," he snarls with a crack, "in that—voice."
He feels your head remove its weight from his shoulder slowly, "Why?"
"Because I can't—" Megumi's voice almost breaks before he whines, gritting his teeth when he whimpers, "I can't handle it."
And just like that, Megumi is four years old again. He's scraping his knee on the concrete of his front lawn, and a blurry father-shaped figure with dark hair and legs far too tall tells him to be a man. Not being old enough to use the stove without supervision, but still knowing enough to save his cries for his pillow when Tsumiki is snoring and can't overthink his tears. He thinks of Gojo—of the first time he broke down in front of him and was met with whispers of good intent and love that registered in his brain as pity. Humiliation.
He doesn't realize he's crying until he feels your fingertips on his wet cheeks, replacing the stinging of antiseptic with a fluttering and velvety touch.
Between sniffled strings of apologies and a few hiccups of words that don't quite make sense, you piece together that Megumi isn't crying because he's in pain. He's crying because he can, because you're helping him in a way he never asked for, let alone known.
"I've never...been allowed to, like, feel—"
"Hey," you're soft again, as if you ever weren't. "I know," fingers delicately brush his sticky eyelashes when you remind him, "but you are now."
"Are what?"
"Allowed," you whisper against his cheek, "to feel however you want when you're around me."
And Megumi doesn't know how you do it. How you remain a light in a world that's constantly doing all it can to kick you while you're down. Maybe you're just naive, so stupidly optimistic that it'll eventually be your own demise. Maybe.
But, Megumi can't find himself to care, because he knows that for as long as he's on this earth, he'll be damned if he lets anything happen to that light of yours.
Back to reality and rubbing at his stinging eyes, Megumi softly scoffs. "Y'know, sometimes you look at me with those stupid eyes and I don't know what happens, but I almost feel sick."
Your laughter tastes like water, "I know what you mean. But in a good way though, right?"
"Yeah," he nods, "in a good way."
When Megumi's back finally hits his mattress at an ungodly hour of the morning—something he's been dreaming of since he'd left it hours ago—he's sickeningly sore and his eyes burn with hypersensitivity. He lets himself close his eyes thinking of your hands, the ones that soaked his now scabbing wounds and wiped his watery eyes.
Megumi plans, sure, but he never could have prepared for you.

I've talked about romantic/sexual yandere Miguel being goaded on by an alternate of himself or another you, but, I'm also thinking about platonic yandere parental/guardian Miguel getting a little 'push' to realize he wants you to play a more central role in his life, either from being in competition with an alternate of his or outright being told by his alternate that it's what he should do
You're just in the Spider Society minding your own business and you see Miguel talking to, Another Miguel, but this one has glasses or a beauty mark or some distinguishing feature. The two of them are discussing anomalies and "the fate of the multiverse" and other such serious topics when you stroll by, giving a wave and such as hello when the second Miguel actually pauses their conversation to greet you, actually being, well, much like YOUR Miguel with his occasional sarcastic snark but, friendlier, introducing himself to you, shaking your hand, asking you questions like how old you are, how long have you been a Spider, etc, amd you're ready to start cracking jokes about how, maybe you'll start spending time with this new Miguel instead since 'yours' is suddenly so grumpy, when. Oh dear, the awkward thing happens. Here comes the other you, bounding right up to the other Miguel, "Papá, there you are 🥰 this place is like a maze and I got lost looking for you, dont leave me behind again 🥺"
Both you and Miguel are watching your alternates interact, actually silently internally in some weird sort of agreement with "this is kind of weird but also oddly wholesome... what the fuck, why do I want what they have..." but it's just. It's also just a little weird. You're literally watching another you cuddle up to another version of your boss, calling the man their dad, acting like they're legitimately his child, with the other man actually being genuinely caring and considerate back. Eventually in private Dad!Miguel asks Miguel about his relationship with you and is basically met with "what relationship. That's just my coworker" as Dad!Miguel rolls his eyes at his emotionally constipated alternate who's apparently going to need a little encouragement
Part of me is like, what if some bullshit happens like, Dad!Miguel is all "oh yeah well if you have such a handle on things and think they can take care of themself without any support or guidance, what are they doing right now" and Miguel is all huffy and all FINE LETS SEE, IM SURE THEYRE FINE and goes to, use his monitors or whatever to spy on you and, you're having like a mental episode, a real crying session, some real boo hoo sobbing and maybe even cutting yourself as Miguel is "coincidentally" having an epiphany that, hey, maybe you DO need an extra mentor figure in your life... maybe he can... ask you about your day and stuff? Dad!Miguel over here ready to rip his hair out as he realizes your Miguel went through all the second universe stuff and is now an emotionally bottled mess and, in a way needs you as much as you need him
Whether to encourage his alternate or help you since you resemble 'his child', despite all awkward differences, Dad!Miguel sees that you're lonely and struggling and, kinda partially adopts you, becoming something of a mentor, checking in on you, scolding you to est something when his advanced hearing picks up on your stomach growling, making small talk, little things like that, but routinely, becoming a bit of a fixture in your life
Months down the line your Miguel is minding his own business having a pretty ok day and he rounds the corner and. It's Dad! Miguel, convincing you to let him comb your hair because you ran out of the house without doing anything with it first and you've been kind of stressed and tired. Miguel just starting to kind of feel what can only be identified as envy and jealousy as he watches Dad!Miguel spending time with you, "so, are you graduated by now? My child (the other you) is still in university right now" "oh no, I'm not really doing college" "what, but you're so smart! I think you can do anything you put your mind to--"
Miguel turns his back and next time he turns around, Dad!Miguel is getting you gifts for your birthday and it turns out he regularly visits you. The original man's strolling through the lobby and suddenly he sees you with his alternate that he's really starting to hate and, are you speaking Spanish? Since when did you learn Spanish? Did he TEACH you? Have you been spending so much time together that the other him even had that opportunity?
He's just standing there watching Dad!Miguel like, braid your hair or help clean your glasses or do something that's like, platonic but personal, caring, affectionate, and suddenly your Miguel is having the realization, "did this bitch just steal you right under my nose. Did he just baby code MY baby 😤"
Miguel overhears you happily call his alternate Tío and, that's it, he gets so mad he confronts the other him about it in private basically then and there, the other man basically just like "well clearly YOU weren't giving them the support they needed--" and proceeding to give advice on how to get close to you, things you're stressed about and struggling with, things you were too shy and scared to open up about to the original Miguel or anyone who isn't a trusted friend
An alternate version of the YouTwo disaster where YouTwo wants to steal your life because you "stole their dad" when Dad!Miguel spends time with you and they assume they're being replaced out of jealousy, or maybe he even outright wants you for himself, or maybe Dad!Miguel outright meets his unfortunate end in an unrelated villain thing and YouTwo comes to steal YOUR "dad". YouTwo who's more unhinged than ever because their Miguel kind of "broke them in" to be their loving little child and doesn't handle either being replaced or losing the only loved one and source of support they cared about
Of course this is to say, it would DEFINITELY be "unfortunate" if you and Dad!Miguel got so, so close and, then suddenly the man dies and is violently ripped from your life just when you're starting to heal and be happy again and, suddenly you're so heartbroken and vulnerable and, THIS is the moment when your Miguel finally steps up to the plate to truly take care of you amd fully assimilate into your life. You're breaking down sobbing, literally the kind of crying where you can't even stand, you just collapse, and, here he is to pick you up and hold you, embrace you, shoosh you gently and rub your back and let you cry while he helps you feel safe again. He's sorry he's late, but he's here now, so let Papá give you nice big hugs while you cry and then take you back home, ok? His home. Technically YOUR home now, that the two of you share. You'll get served all your favorite foods and made sure you're looked after and, when its time for bed and you get those violent nightmares and images of how your beloved Tío was killed right in front of you and can't manage to sleep, your Papá is there to help hold you and comfort you until you're finally softly snoring in his arms. he looks at you, how heartbroken and, in his eyes, helpless you are, and vows that if anyone ever tries to hurt, or wrong you, or some punk who doesn't deserve you tries to taint your purity, that he'll rip them apart like a wild animal
After all, that's just what good fathers do

I am a Ruan Mei defender, not because I think she's a blameless misunderstood character, but bc I am very afraid of people interpreting her terrible actions as bad writing bc "the game still expects us to like her" or overexaggerating her bad traits in order to make Dr. Ratio look better by comparison.
And that's not to say I think Ratio is a "bad" guy either, I think the whole point of introducing him alongside Ruan Mei was to highlight how different the Genius Society operates compared to "normal" academics. Ratio's over the top arrogance makes him off-putting at first, but his genuine desire to spread knowledge to everyone who wants to learn it is the perfect contrast to the obsession and selfishness of the Genius Society, who only ever care about fulfilling their own desires without concern for those below them. Even Screwllum, the member who seems the most sociable and friendly, let Ratio carry on with his antics on the space station just to see what would happen, even though it put the Trailblazer in danger and threatened the whole facility.
So that is to say, Ruan Mei is like that on purpose. We aren't supposed to see her drugging us and sending us after an incomplete Emanator of Propagation and be confused as to how she's a "goody guy." She isn't. None of the members of the Genius Society are "good" people just bc we're allied with them. Herta uses Traliblazer as a guinea pig for the Simulated Universe after all, and we now know that as long as it's something he's curious about, Screwllum won't interfere to protect us even when he's already figured out the solution to the problem we're facing.
But I also want to do a little apologism for Ruan Mei bc sometimes the accusations I see lobbed at her is a bit much. Like, yeah, she drugged us, but it was a temporary inhibitor that literally only stopped us from giving people information about Ruan Mei. And she didn't do it just to fuck with us? Ruan Mei is incredibly aware of how emotionally detached she is and knows it's almost impossible for her to understand the affection given to her by her creations. She doesn't drug us out of some evil desire to control information, she does it bc she knows her time on the space station is temporary and wants to avoid leaving behind any memories of her being there. That doesn't make it okay and it's still presented alongside everything else she does that's uncaring towards TB and her creations, but it makes it a little more complicated than just "she's an unfeeling sociopath that would happily watch us die." It's bad, but it's also one of Ruan Mei's weird and not good ways of showing consideration.
It's interesting, is what I'm saying. It's compelling. And I don't really dig how it she gets reduced to a two-bit manipulator.
I'm a bit of a stickler for this particular thing bc it's something I truly adore about HSR's writing, and also something I see as one of the game's core themes. There is no clear divide between "good" guys and "bad" guys. The Genius Society is full of emotionally constipated weirdos who wouldn't pay a single bit of attention to us if we weren't interesting to them, but they're also important allies to the Express. The Stelleron Hunters are our biggest opposition and wreak havoc on whatever planet they enter, but we know that their goals somewhat align with our own and unless you go out of your way to be mean to her with every dialogue option, it's pretty obvious that Kafka is someone Trailblazer loves.
And even Cocolia, someone who almost destroyed the last remnants of civilization on her own planet, gets treated with sympathy. Bronya is allowed to mourn her mother and still see her as an aspirational figure, all the while Serval is allowed to break off ties with her and definitively move on from her past.
It's a theme that carries over to a lot of HSR's important side quests too, where often you're expected to choose between two options that both have some pretty heavy downsides no matter what. You have your own moral compass, and along the way the choices may seem crystal clear, but it's never so black and white as you predict. It's a game about decisions, about making your own way in life and learning about the different worldviews of those you meet. Good or bad, helpful or hurtful, it's not always so obvious as "this person did something bad to me, now I will forever dislike them."
"When there is the chance to make a choice, make one that you know you won't regret," "explore, understand, establish, and connect," "the Express welcomes everyone" etc etc

"Grimm" is a five-part story from Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight from 2002 and I kind of absolutely lost my mind over it because there was just so much validating everything I've always thought about these two. The premise is typical comics shenanigans, there's a Mother Grimm who is stealing street kids and abused children away to this fantastical underground carnival to let them live a whimsical life, where they're loved and cared for--which Dick falls into because he's clashing with Bruce, who is freaking out because he's worried that he's turning Dick into a mirror version of himself. The story is woven through with Alfred gently trying to push (which I've been losing my shit about here and here because this is exactly what I read comics for) both Bruce and Dick into acknowledging that they're becoming father and son--but it's clear that both of them are terrified of stepping into those roles, Bruce because he doesn't know how to raise a kid and he's afraid he's hurting more than helping, Dick because he's not sure Bruce even wants him around as Robin, much less as Dick Grayson, but you watch the way Alfred barely has to nudge them and you see them both start to lean into the idea before they get scared again and jump back into saying they're partners and friends instead. And it's so validating because it's the good stuff--Dick running away because he feels like Bruce doesn't want him, Bruce coming home to tell him that he's going to find Dick a new family because he's scared he's molding this kid into himself but he can't because Dick's already run off, but when Dick says he's going to stay with Mother Grimm, Bruce looks gut-punched like he can't actually believe Dick would leave. Meanwhile, Bruce tries to leave, but Mother Grimm secretly doses him with psychotropic drugs which send him into hallucinations about how he's dragging Dick into this violent world of his, and how he's setting him up for death, that because Bruce didn't die with his parents, now he's trying to get this kid--this kid who mirrors him in so many ways--killed instead. And it's all just so much terror at the thought of letting someone else in after their losses--Bruce because he's scared of losing more people, Dick scared because he's not sure he's wanted, and it'll take years yet for them to actually put anything into words, so instead they settle for "partners" and it might feel unsatisfying and half-assed, except honestly Dick Grayson and Alfred Pennyworth were working miracles here. There's plenty of room for other interpretations, including soft dad!Bruce who eagerly embraces the idea (and it's not too far off from this, this Bruce very clearly does want that, he's just scared and so he keeps chickening out), but this is where I live, this is why Dick Grayson is so fundamentally important to Bruce Wayne's story, that neither character is complete without the other. Bruce Wayne is a character who lost his entire world on that night he was eight years old and didn't know how to grow beyond it for so long, and how do you make a character arc like that satisfying? How do you take a character that is defined by a child's loss of his parents, that shapes everything of who he came to be, and make a satisfying conclusion?
You do it by making him a father to a child who needs him. A child who mirrors him, where they could bring out the worst in each other--and sometimes they do tend to slide into those fears getting the better of them--but instead Bruce struggles his way to being someone who openly admits that he's fallible, he makes mistakes, but he loves his kid and he is a father, that he needs to step up. I've been reading a lot of Bruce & Damian comics lately and it's been striking me how different Bruce is--he's still emotionally constipated, but he understands that he has to get in there, set boundaries, set rules, and make sure the kid knows that he's proud of them. Has to be the adult that looks past the scared kid's bravado and harsh words, to see the vulnerability underneath.
Bruce could never have done any of what he's doing with Damian currently without THIS RIGHT HERE. Without the yearning for something he doesn't know how to put into words (even when Alfred basically spells it out for him), without Dick Grayson bringing light and love into his life, without Dick being such a bright and loving child who was still scared that he wasn't wanted, so Bruce has to open up and learn to start actually saying what he means.
You don't get Bruce & Damian (or Bruce & Jason or Bruce & Tim) without Bruce & Dick first. You don't get any of that without Bruce's relationship with Dick making him put his fears into words and learning to trust his heart to this kid, step by step.
Bruce and Dick's relationship being rocky in the early days isn't a mark against how much Bruce loved that kid, but instead a sign of just how miraculous it was that Dick Grayson got him this far in the first place. Dick Grayson had to be the first, because you don't get to current day Bruce Wayne with any of his other kids without him. (Overall, this was a fairly silly comic that was very much of its era, but I thought it was a great read because it really nailed how hard it was for them to even begin to approach the idea of Bruce being a dad, he couldn't even say it at the end of all this, despite that he literally pulled the most dad move of all time by waiting in the dark for his kid to sneak back in and basically tell him he was grounded. GOD THEY ARE SO EMOTIONALLY CONSTIPATED AND IT'S SO DELICIOUSLY FUN.)

SVSSS College/University AU!!
(mostly STEM, and with assumptions arising from the American systems, bc that's what I know)
Shen Yuan: In accordance with my headcanons for canon, I think he'd still be studying evolutionary biology in this AU. He'd have fun with it, and I think he'd be decently good at it. Same energy as my roommate doubling Chem and Archeology bc Alchemy isn't an option
Luo Binghe: Shen Yuan tutored him once when they were in middle school and high school respectively, and Bingy majored in STEM about it. That and I think it would make sense with his backstory, for him to be studying biochemistry or molecular biology with the intent of becoming a cancer biologist. Like I said earlier, he'd be phenomenal in wet lab because of his skills in the kitchen (and general badassery) transferring to the lab. If he actually had Protagonist Powers I think he'd probably manage to actually cure cancer lol.
To get the relationships right, I think Ning Yingying and Ming Fan have to be studying something related to biology, but I don't have a good enough handle on their characters to decide what exactly within the broad broad field of bio they might be interested in. But I do know that the three of them were put in a study group during intro bio and managed to make that into actual friendship further down the line.
Shang Qinghua: I Knew he had to be Computer Science all the way. As someone who is intimately acquainted with the precise flavor of dying all CS majors are, he's absolutely got the energy. Plus, I had a daydream/plot bunny back when I was taking Algorithms that the type of procedural thinking taught in CS would be invaluable on An Ding. He absolutely still writes a ton to keep some semblance of sanity. If you see him in the CS building at 11 pm typing furiously it's a coin toss as to whether he's writing or debugging lol. He and Shen Yuan made instant hatefriends with each other in the university's anime club their first year, and slowly transitioned to being die-or-die (yes, that was not a typo, they are both dying at the end of this ride lol) best friends.
Literally everyone else I could think of under the cut:
Shen Qingqiu: I think he and Shen Yuan are cousins at most, so the QiJiu backstory can be had in some capacity. Of course, they can't literally be slaves named after numbers in a modern AU, but the separation/reconciliation/etc can happen. I think he's either premed and angry about it, or aggressively going towards academia. Math, maybe? I know those are two very different things, but whatever he's studying, he's mean about it, but very good.
Yue Qingyuan: I think he is in the med school at whatever university he's at. One of those freaks who manages to be dying entirely on the inside instead of the outside. This is why I think it'd be useful to have SJ|SQQ as premed, so their paths crossed. I think SQQ was delayed in enrolling by QiJiu Backstory, which is why they're in different years. He's maybe planning on going into family medicine, I think.
Mu Qingfang: How could I make the doctor character not a doctor? He's out of school, kind of. I think he's doing his residency at a hospital near the university. He's friends with YQY, and is Concerned at the bits of QiJiu Backstory he's picked up over the course of that.
Qi Qingqi: Thinks all you doctor types are a bit insane (affectionate, but deep down). I think she's a graduate student studying chemistry, maybe drug delivery if I had to pick something specific? No real reason, just vibes.
Liu Qingge: The emotionally constipated Sporty Ponytail(TM), so... Sports Medicine, obviously. I think he might be minoring in environmental studies or something, so there's reasons for him to cross paths with Shen Yuan. Story reasons, I mean -- he's doing it because he got interested in high school.
Liu Mingyan: I don't know if it's too on the nose to tie her to a field that'd make her excruciatingly aware of the reasons why to wear a mask, but I think she'd be studying Epidemiology or Public Health, something similar to that. I think she'd be good at thinking on the personal, community, and population levels, and balancing that.
Sha Hualing: So that she has some overlap with both LMY and LBH, and because I just think it fits somehow, I think she'd be studying molecular biology with the intent to go into virology.
Mobei-Jun: Honestly I'm not entirely certain he's in school. I think it might make more sense for him to be running the restaurant location Binghe works part time at. Which brings me to the rest of the demons!
Meng Mo: Head chef of the restaurant Bingy managed to finangle his way to a part time chef position at. No, I don't know how he managed that either, because it's a pretty high end restaurant, and "chef" doesn't tend to be a part time position from what I know. Binghe is just that good at cooking, I guess. Meng Mo is kind of mad about it.
Tianlang-Jun: He owns the restaurant and probably a bunch of other things, but he's rich-person bankrupt because he was suspected of murdering his wife (he didn't, obvs. Honestly it might be funny if Su Xiyan wasn't even actually dead). It was suuuuuper awkward when it came out that LBH was his biological son, but Binghe Refuses to touch business, so Zhuzhi-Lang is the successor.
That's all I've got for now!

🕷 he doesn't even need to tell nobara or megumi that he has a crush on you, they already know, but he insists on talking about you anyway
🕷 yuuji subtly flirts with you but you can never tell if he's actually flirting with you or if he's just being yuuji
🕷 the definition of the tiktok audio of "they're so pretty! what i am doing wrong???" and then proceeds to cry with nobara or megumi awkwardly patting him on the back because this man does not know personal space
🕷 after awhile though, he definitely ends up accidentally telling you that he has a big fat crush on you
megumi
🕷 does he like you? does he hate you? only megumi knows the answer to that question
🕷 he's honestly a little helpless when it comes to feelings because of how emotionally constipated he is
🕷 he sends very mixed signals
🕷 like one moment he'll be somewhat protective and almost endearing towards you and then suddenly youre getting the cold shoulder
🕷 it starts annoying yuuji and nobara that they start dropping obvious not so subtle hints that megumi has a crush on you
🕷 they both know that you have a crush on him to and it just consists of them loudly sighing or aggressively face palming themselves
🕷 they definitely start taking matters into their own hands after awhile
inumaki
🕷 inumaki makes the first move and this is not debatable
🕷 like yuuji he'll become really close to you but his main goal is to fluster you as much as possible
🕷 when you two are talking he glances at your lips or gets really close
🕷 he pushes any stray hairs from your eyes while smiling at you even if you cant see it
🕷 he occasionally gently flicks your forehead when you've done something stupid or 'annoying' him
🕷 he shares his food with you and always makes sure you two are paired up together
🕷 he tries to make it as obvious as possible without embarrassing himself but if you dont get the hint he just writes in really big letters 'i like you dumbass' on a slip of paper
yuuta
🕷 when he first came to jujutsu high, he would avoid you as much as possible
🕷 but yuuta has built up a lot of confidence over the years, especially because he doesn't have rika attached to him anymore, making him more likely to talk to you
🕷 he always invites you places or asks if you want anything when he goes to the connivence store or even if he's just getting up to grab something
🕷 severely protective but only when you guys are out on missions
🕷 texts and calls you as much as he can when he's sent across the country or even to an entirely different continent
gojo
🕷 do i even need to say it?
🕷 satoru didn't really leave you alone even before he had a crush on you but now he really doesn't
🕷 regularly teases you but never goes too far to the point where you get your feelings hurt or you start to ignore him
🕷 loves when you give him the same energy back which leads to the both of you playfully teasing and mimicking each other
🕷 ready to put his life on the line for you at any moment even if he never gets the chance to tell you how he feels about you
🕷 he eventually does though without having to make a big dramatic sacrifice
suguru
🕷 i have a headcannon that nanako and mimiko went through a phase of pairing suguru up with literally every single person they saw that they thought would be a good fit
🕷 like literally 'contestants' and everything, they acted as if it was some fucking game show
🕷 but besides that, suguru would approach you first
🕷 despite his reputation, he acts like a total gentleman to you and probably puts you on some kind of pedestal
🕷 goes to you when something's rubbed him the wrong way or when he needs an opinion that he can trust or if he just wants to hear you talking
🕷 rests his cheek on his hand while listening to you talk with this kind of lovesick smile on his face
🕷 i think suguru is a bit of a perfectionist so he would plan everything out before telling you how he feels
🕷 definitely has killed anyone that might've said something to you in a somewhat offensive manner, it doesn't matter if you didn't see it that way, he still has them taken care of whether thats downright killing them or traumatizing them so badly that they wished they were
nanami
🕷 i can see him admiring from afar only because he doesn't want to make you uncomfortable if you don't reciprocate those feelings
🕷 but he will make very small advances just to see how you react and depending on how you do tells him enough
🕷 also very protective and doesn't like you going on dangerous missions without him
🕷 it's not that he isn't confident in your abilities, it's more that he literally cannot focus on anything else except you and your safety until you get back
🕷 had to hide his smile when he subconsciously rolled up his sleeves and noticed how you stared before immediately looking away with a not so faint blush on your face
sukuna
🕷 i honestly don't know
🕷 like a part of me wants to say yes but the other part is unsure
🕷 in the scenario that he did approach you first, he gets rid of any competition or threat that might get in his way
🕷 i can see him slowly cutting you off to other people until he makes sure that know you're his and only his or until you're somewhat dependent on him
🕷 he probably pampers you and distracts you so you don't realize that you're seeing your friends and family less and less
🕷 pampers you to no end like whatever you want, you get it
🕷 also has killed for you

Yoh and Segasaki are so stupid, oh my goddd.
I'm going to have to watch this whole show again to have many thoughts beyond OH MY GOD JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER FFS! But i am obsessed with them.
Every conversation they have, they are having two entirely separate and different conversations. One thinks they're engaged, the other thinks they hate each other and are just having mind blowing hate sex on the regular. They have known each other for years, lived together and have been having kinky sex for months, and have never been on a date.
I want to study them.
I want to shake Yoh roughly until he's less stupid, then wrap him in a blanket and call him names and pet his hair, and tell him I'm sorry that he's in love and emotionally constipated, and that the object of his affection sucks at feelings almost worse than he does.
I want to hit Segasaki in the face and list all the ways he fucked this up, and then give him tea and head pats and nice words, because really, he's in love with an idiot, and they're both such losers.
They're so stupid, and I love them.

Soukoku SFW Alphabets✨ (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Part 2, Part 3
A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)
Their ways of showing affection are weird, from writing death messages to teasing each other like no tomorrow, they probably have the type of affection that just traumatises any onlookers. Between them, they both show equal amounts of affection, just different ways of showing it. Dazai uses more words to make Chuuya feel better, while Chuuya shows affection through his actions, like making Dazai's fav dish for dinner.
B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)
Of course their friendship started with a fight. As best friends, they would probably be the worst not when bickering between themselves but when they make it everyone's problem. When they work towards a common goal though, they are unstoppable, whether it be studying for a test, or a devious plan to prank literally everyone around them. Either way, the duo is a major headache for whichever poor soul that has the misfortune of crossing paths with them.
C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)
This one's a definite yes. Cuddles are probably their favourite way of showing affection. At first sight, many would think that Dazai is the big spoon, but in reality, Chuuya's the big spoon. Dazai just likes to cling to Chuuya and fall asleep while listening to his heartbeat. Chuuya loves to bury his head in Dazai's hair and smell the sweet shampoo he'd bought for Dazai. Both of them have trouble sleeping when the other's not around, especially Dazai.
D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)
Dazai is a huge flirt and proposes double suicides with every other woman he meets, but his heart belongs to Chuuya. It's a fact that had established itself unknowingly in his head ever since he met Chuuya, but being the emotionally constipated idiot he is, Dazai didn't realise it until much much later. Chuuya is loyal to a fault, and that's the absolute truth. Ever since he fell for Dazai, Chuuya's never looked at anyone else. Maybe a few flings with nameless faceless people after Dazai left, but he never let go of the feelings he had for Dazai. As for chores, Chuuya does most of the work, but surprisingly, Dazai does some work too. It was a fact that had scared the living daylights out of the ADA when they learnt about it.
E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)
No. The thing is, no matter how much they try to stay apart, they always gravitate towards each other in the end. It's like Dazai's Chuuya's other half, and vice versa. So no, I can't write anything for impossible scenarios.
F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)
No matter when they actually get married, their hearts were already married since they were fifteen. But Dazai was a bit afraid of the commitment at first, but as they slowly unravelled each other(and themselves in the process) Dazai's fear evaporated away. Dazai wanted to get married as soon as they got together after he defected, but Chuuya needed more time to process the events, so they got married a little late (in their opinion anyway. Kunikida still thinks 23 is too early to tie the knot.).
G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)
"Gentle is something that's not in Soukoku's vocabulary." is what many would think. But they are surprisingly soft when they're in tune with each other's emotions. It wasn't an easy task, especially with all the masks Dazai wore, but when Chuuya understood what Dazai needed at the moment, he became gentle and giving. Though Dazai is an expert at observing, he doesn't know how to express his feelings and ends up using physical contact to show that he really cares. In the end, Dazai is gentler physically, while Chuuya is gentler emotionally.

i hate that modern batfam comics have them feel so sanitized and their problems seem a lot less nuanced and they don't really argue in the same way they used to
like in older comics the reason they were arguing always stemmed from the fact that they were a family and now it feels more like they are arguing despite it which is very different actually and they function too much like a cohesive unit
take gotham war and bruce wayne murderer
both feature a sort of divide in the batfam caused by Bruce acting violently in bruce wayne murderer the batfam divide feels a lot more real and individualized:
Tim and Babs are less believing of Bruce they default to their detective skills and try and stay objective Babs especially is constantly reminding everyone that there is a chance Bruce did do the murder but despite being more sceptical they do most of the heavy lifting in finding proof that he was innocent while still being critical of Bruce and expressing annoyance with him for not letting them help and they don't actually want him to be guilty
On the other hand you Dick and Cass who really don't want to believe that Bruce would betray his ideals like this and come into conflict with Tim and Babs due to this difference in perspective more specifically Tim and Dick and Dick and Babs argue about it several times but they are both also frustrated with Bruce and do have to question their stances
all major bats who knew Bruce's identity had a part to play with even Alfred and Leslie being given unique individual views on the situation (believing he's innocent and could be possibly guilty respectively)
then in gotham war you have a brief scene of some of the bats complaining about Bruce and then they all fight him later with the exception of Damian for no real reason and the story doesn't really seem to care
it's just boring and lazy and the pull of batfam is that these are emotionally fucked up people who are a family and they aren't a healthy one but their family none the less and it was nuanced and interesting
and now they're just like slightly emotionally constipated or something
when i say that modern batfam are too nice to each other in modern comics I am not saying that batfam were always terrible and hated each other in older comics what i mean is that were messy their relationships and way of doing things were messy and toxic and the thing that made them stand out back them was that they were toxic and co-dependent but yet there was never any actual question on whether they love eachother... because of course they do how could they not

Rust Cohle Lone Star Headcanons
Tumblr media
Ugh, I've fallen for this emotionally constipated bitch experiencing complicated grief. I want him. So I've put together some lil' headcanons, as a lil' treat to myself (and hopefully you, dear reader).
______________________________
Rust drinks Lone Star beer, not just because it's "nothin' fancy", but because it was a direct snub to his dad. Even though he obviously loves his dad, they had a deeply complicated, and at times painful, relationship. He gave Rust structure and the necessary skills to survive, but he never really knew how to be a dad and there was not a lot of affection between them. Then, when Rust started talking about moving back to Texas and his dad took it personally and got mad at him, Rust decided to really stick it to him by starting to drink Lone Star.
His dad's beer of choice was Coors, and one of the things they would do together after bush hunting was go to the one shitty bar in town and drink beer. It took Rust forever to find a Texas beer in Alaska, but he's a stubborn fucker when he wants to prove a point. He's a lot like his dad in that they're both very, very stubborn. He still remembers the look his father gave him when he came home with a case of it. He took out a can and looked him dead in the eye while he drank the whole thing in one long glug.
He initially didn't want to go to Texas to hurt his dad; he just didn't know where else to go. He knew he wanted to get out of Alaska and do something he found at least remotely interesting. Plus, he wanted to be warmer. He was deeply hurt when his dad reacted the way he did, so he really wanted to piss him off. It was a stupid little thing, but it felt significant.
He never stopped smoking Camel Lights, though, which was also his dad's brand. He felt like it was a little connection he had with him, even if they weren't on speaking terms. And he never really processed his dad's death and their fractured relationship until after he woke up from his coma, where he felt his dad's and Sophia's love for him in the darkness.
One day, after he's recovered from his injuries, he's telling you all this. And even though you've heard this before, this time seems different. It's the anniversary of his dad's death, and he's getting choked up; he never discussed his dad's death anniversary before getting shot. In fact, he never talked about him at all on that day. (He does the same thing with Sophia's death anniversary.)
You know he wants to feel some sort of connection with his dad, wishes that maybe he could have made things right with him and told him that he didn't fuckin' hate him (saying he loved him would have probably been too much for the both of them).
You have an idea: You tell Rust that he should drink a Coors and smoke a Camel in his dad's honor. He just looks at you for a second. Because Rust actually likes this idea a whole fuckin' lot. But he feels a little silly doing it, because he's not used to being this open with his grief. You see the gears turning in his head: his old attitudes are fighting with this new acceptance of his grief, telling himself that that's a bunch of bullshit because what is drinking a fuckin' specific kind of beer going to do? So you gently squeeze his hand and offer to drink one and smoke with him.
You make a beer run and then bring the beer to the backyard of the house you're sharing. It's a cold night, and the stars are shinning brightly. Before taking a sip, you look at Rust and raise your can. "To your Pops," you toast. He smiles so softly and sadly that you almost miss it. "Pops," he raises his can and then sips it. He hasn't had a sip of Coors since before his first Lone Star all the way back when he was a teenager in Alaska.
And he's surprised because even though it tastes like shit, it feels like going home in a way. It feels, for a brief minute, like that transcendent love he felt in the pulsating darkness. He cries a little bit while he finishes his first can, but he accepts this and lets go of the feelings of difficulty he has about his relationship with his father. He accepts the peace that comes with acknowledging the profound way someone can shape your life, even if you never got to say that to them while they were alive.
As you two split the six pack (he's trying to drink less), he tells you stories about his dad that he's never shared with anyone before. About killing his first rabbit with him when he was 8; how his dad said what a good shot it was, and how proud that made him feel. And then a few funny hunting stories, too. You hold his hand while you let him talk in his soft Texas drawl, and watch the peace pass over his face as he remembers the things worth remembering.
BONUS: One of the little ways that Rust shows his love for you is by sharing a Lone Star with you. You pass it back and forth, and you know it's a way of him letting you into his world. It's a small gesture, but it speaks volumes.

Johndave, davekat, johnkat OR the elusive johndavekat for the ship bingo?
Hmm what if all of them ????
JOHNDAVE
Tumblr media
ok kings of denying your feelings for each other... ok... johndave is so made for me because i fucking love when characters are best friends to lovers and i love john and dave so much as characters on their own and even when its not romantic they are like. each others PERSON, you know? like these two are quite literally the first friendship we meet in homestuck so you know right off the bat how important it is.
i love the idea(and also essentially the canon) of these two doing the gayest things in the fucking universe together and john insists it's for the bit and dave insists it's for the irony and rose and jade are just off to the side. staring at them. knowing the truth. they know what you are.
DAVEKAT
Tumblr media
im really sentimental about davekat because no joke they are the reason i got into homestuck. someone reblogged all of the penis oujia scene on my tumblr dash and i fucking cried laughing and so i was like "maybe i should see what this is all about" and now im 3 years deep into a hyperfixiation!!!
anyways davekat!!! canonically boyfriends canonically dating so proud of them and i really do understand why they are the fandoms most beloved ship. the interactions these two characters have are fantastic(both with each other and with other characters ABOUT each other. god i love when dave and karkat talk about each other to other characters) the classpect parallels, self-worth issues, the enemies-to-friends-to-lovers of it all... its so good.
JOHNKAT
Tumblr media
johnkat is RIGHT IN MY BRAIN MAN. ITS UP THERE AND IT LIVES UP THERE LIKE A LITTLE CREATURE CONSTANTLY.
THE PARALLELS. the friendleader parallels. the way these two are so stupid and i KNOW vriska is johns patron troll and i love their friendship a lot too dont get me wrong but in my heart secretly karkat is johns patron troll. in my heart. secretly.
i think there is something so wonderful about how unabashedly caring john is for the people that he loves and karkat is so awkwardly caring for the people he loves and i think john needs to give karkat a hug and i think karkat needs to give john a hug BECAUSE GOD THE IDEA OF THESE TWO COMFORTING EACH OTHER... it brutalizes me. i wish i was around when johnkat stuff was more popular because im so sad they dont get more love now!! same with johndave!! Like dont get me wrong im On The Davekat Train 100% but let john also kiss boys too.
GOOD SEGUE INTO TALKING ABOUT JOHNDAVEKAT.
this is the answer everyone. let them all date. Right. Now. or i will get down on all fours and start Biting People.
they're all a different brand of emotionally constipated and oh my god could you imagine the living space. they all live in a shared apartment wall to wall with horrible movie posters and sbahj comics just taped random places and they bicker and have terrible movie nights and get really into playing stupid video games and kiss each other and ... im normal about it i swear.

Hey!! I was wondering if you knew the timeline of season 2 of my beautiful man? I'm kind of confused. Is it supposed to be that hira and kiyoi have been together all through college? Or am I wrong about the timeline of the first season, because I thought that the finale of season 1 was during hira's first year of college. I'm just surprised that they seem still so unsure of their relationship if they've been a couple for years? Hopefully I'm making sense 😅 thank you so much if you take the time to read this 💖
Hi! Thanks for the ask. So compared to the timeline of the book, they're jumbling things up a little. The story with the party and the model hitting on Hira happens at the end of book 1 as a little sidestory, so canon they're still very young and just started dating.
In the series, supposing they get together at the end of Hira's year 1, and now he's halfway through year 4, they've been dating for close to 3 years I guess? Though I do reckon the decision to skip to this point in time (both novel and show) was made because of the life decisions they're going to have to make at this point in their lives, so maybe not too much thought have been put into the fact that it means they've been dating for so long.
If we expect this relationship to develop the way most relationships do, we're probably not gonna like what we'll be getting. These two emotionally constipated babes both have way too complicated perceptions of human relationships for this to have ever been an option. It's like asking a spoon to be a fork, it just ain't happening.
My point is, I don't think they are unsure of the relationship; they each know that they only have eyes for one another, but the balance in the relationship is just so completely off still. And this is basically what this season is gonna revolve around :)
!!!! POSSIBLE SPOILER !!!!!!
aka my interpretation of what the story might possibly revolve around based on the book 2 synopsis and 1st novel
I think it's hard to say much yet, but the synopsis for the show revolves around how their ways of loving each other is clashing terribly.
Hira lives in a world that is very hierarchy based and very black/white. He is at the bottom of the pyramid and Kiyoi is at the top. Their worlds are different and they can never truly co-exist on an even level; this world that Hira lives in is almost completely static, and he has no desire to move further up the social pyramid, which in his mind would be the only way for him to deserve Kiyoi.
He does not even see the possibility that Kiyoi chooses to go against this pyramid system Hira's made up. This reality does not occur to him because it simply is not an option. He never thought of it as one, so it genuinely is unfathomable to him. If you went back in time and met someone from the 60s, you wouldn't expect them to be able to explain the internet to you because it doesn't exist in their world and their reality. It's the same idea. It's not that he doesn't want to; he genuinely can't and he also is not aware that he is "lacking" something.
I feel like he still believes Kiyoi is with him as a sort of act of pity or sheer boredom. Hira's purpose is to worship Kiyoi and to be this close to him, even being intimate with him, is making Hira into a sinner committing a mortal, unforgivable sin. He should not be doing what he is doing; he does not deserve it qua his position in the hierarchy of the world. He would need to change everything about himself in order to be a deserving mate for Kiyoi; which I think is what he means when he says he needs to do better. He needs to be better; being himself the way he is now will never be someone who could ever deserve anything good.
ON THE OTHER HAND... Kiyoi may also not have a healthy relationship with love and commitment, but he truly, innerly and deeply wants to be loved. He wants to be the most important one to someone, he wants to be wanted more than anything and anyone else. He initially yearned for the kind of blind fiery, almost violent love that fans give to their idols, because he just wanted to be seen by anyone at all. He grew up feeling like an after-thought and a second choice; his mom was too busy with work, then his younger siblings came around and they were more important than him, so no one paid any mind to him and he was important to no one. Now, with time passing, he knows to himself that he doesn't want just anyone, he wants Hira and Hira only. He tries to navigate the world that Hira lives in, but Kiyoi's person and his free will does not exist in it; how is one supposed to exist in a world where you are not even perceived as a human with feelings and flaws and wants and desires?
I think this show is going to challenge even more how unreliable a narrator Hira has been for the viewer: I personally think that the sole reason some view this show as toxic is because they do not realize that Hira is a terrible narrator. We are not by any means given the whole picture and the whole truth, which is what is shown in the last two episodes of season 1, and I believe it will be shown even more in this show because of a less narrow POV.
Anyways, I might very well be wrong - haven't read the second novel yet, so I'm just based it all off of ~vibes~ and a synopsis.

This has been stuck on replay in my head all day, so I’m sharing random HCs!
Tropes I think fit the different CoD characters:
Price-Second Chance Romance
He seems like the type where he had a High school sweetheart and you guys broke up when you graduated because you realized love takes a lot more effort than just being a cutesy cuddly couple. Now years later you’re both cautious to try and reconnect because you’re afraid to break the good times you had before.
König-Rivals To Lovers
I can see König not wanting to admit his feelings and being awkward, but not cute fluffy awkward. More like, emotionally constipated, doesn’t know how to flirt, awkward. So he tries to show he likes you by doing things for you. He sees you cleaning your equipment and he immediately says you’re doing it wrong, let him do it. In his mind he’s trying to be blunt and take care of you. Meanwhile you think you’re rivals and are constantly irritated by him trying to one up you at everything. Which inevitably leads to a fight when you’re in a safe house and both of your feelings are revealed.
Soap-Best Friends To Lovers
Soap gives off the vibe where he’d be so oblivious to his own feelings. Like, golden retriever vibes x3. He’s convinced all friends feel this strongly for each other, and are miserable when apart, and give forehead kisses. Up until he sees you with someone else and has that-Oh. Oh. moment where he realizes he is in fact, madly in love with you.
Nikto-Scary Dog Privileges(I know this one isn’t technically a trope)
You think Nikto at most, tolerates you. He’s just your partner for Ops and you’re pretty sure he dislikes you, but you haven’t died yet so there’s that. Meanwhile, Nikto has claimed you as his, more or less. Not romantically or anything. More like ‘This is my person, if you touch them I will end you’. He tends to act as a very big and terrifying second shadow whenever you’re out and about. Glaring at anyone who gets too close to you for his liking.
The way Ravishing Allure perfectly fits the Scary Dog Privilege is perfect - Nikto is the definition of that. And I love that mostly everyone figured out that Soap's perfect trope is Best Friends to Lovers. It's just the best one for him.
But I agree, the Price and König tropes would be so cute to write. I love Second Chance Romances tbh, they're so beautiful.

Yes to all of what you said about Hae in and Hyun woo's relationship the discourse on some of these platforms is insane like people on Twitter and Instagram are unhinged and gave the dumbest takes that make it seem they're watching an entirely different show, "HW is toxic and evil and HI deserves better she's perfect" ummm.... I'm glad that at least here there seems to be a consensus of they're both flawed and need to communicate and do better
exactlyyyyy
I don't understand how people are interpreting this dynamic weirdly when it is the same rich stoic chaebol x poor emotional affectionate girl like always the only difference is the gender reversal.
Haein is the stoic, cold, calculating, emotionally-constipated, workaholic, rich heir. She clearly loves Hyunwoo but she is so emotionally shut off that she doesn't say anything she just expects all of her feelings to be conveyed to him. Of course I understand why she is like that and i don't want to dig into her too much, growing up in that household especially after the death of her older brother was suffocating and she probably only worsened after losing their child.
But I can't say she is perfect when as I mentioned she never protected him from her family (at least in front of him), berated him in front of employees, never visited his family, never comforted him at his lowest, and never communicated her feelings.
Remember in like ep.3 or something Hyunwoo mentions that for the first anniversary he did a big party but she didn't like that and at the second anniversary he did nothing but she also hated that. Like it is very clear that Haein absolutely sucks at expressing her true feelings and Hyunwoo isn't a mindreader, nobody is. You can't be mad at Hyunwoo for not understanding her feelings or not comforting her when she shut him out, when she doesn't tell him how she feels.
The whole shocked by the divorce is super common in this genre too because typically the male lead never thought his wife was feeling this way. Like those male leads, Haein believed that even though her partner is acting distant and closed off, that he still loves her because she still loves him when that couldn't be further from the truth.
You can't close your heart to the world and expect them to mourn you. If Hyunwoo didn't care about Haein's feelings then Haein equally ignored his feelings, both of them don't know how the other person is truly feeling and made little to no effort to resolve this miscommunication and just lived with the assumption. Their terrible, just abysmal, communication is making them suffer, they are supposed to do things together!!! they are partners!!! Both of them failed at being there for each other and it drove them a part.

Hello there, hope you're doing well!
If you're still taking requests outside of your current event, I'd like some headcanons or even a small drabble. Feel free to do anything
Basically: How Law handles being together with a strawhat s/o that can...hold herself in fights?? Someone who stands in the same ground as the worst gen and can beat his ass at any given moment :kek: would be funny if they're Luffy's older sister
Ramble starting here: reason for this is so Law can't really tell her what to do for her "safety." We've seen him leave his entire crew to protect them and caring someone who's not his subordinate makes the game different
Law knows the strawhats attract some crazy shit, he knows she's more likely to be protecting him. The fact that she's still loyal to her brother and willingly throws herself into danger is aiduJDHS frustrating. But at the same time, they're stronger and all he can do is wish they don't disappear one day
Fuck this is long..but anyway lmk if you don't want it and I'll request from your event
hi <3 i am doing good, i hope you're doing good too! i like the idea of someone being much stronger than law and him just... not being able to deal with it for obvious reasons 🥺️😭💓took a lil creative liberty with some things, but i like it; i hope you enjoy!
881 words, fem reader, sfw (slightly suggestive, nothing major), tiny bit of angst, tiny bit of fluff (just pretend), 18+, mdni; a lil scenario/drabble featuring our favorite, emotionally constipated pirate <3 alcohol mention, a lil bit of teasing on reader's part but that's just how it is. luffy makes a brief appearance.

in your most humble opinion, it can’t be considered arrogance if you really are strong and know it; it’s also not arrogant of you to boldly declare that you can handle the fleet of warships that loiter around the sunny while the others prepare the ship for escape; and, lastly, it’s truly not arrogant of you to leap into dangerous situations without assessing for possible outcomes.
what you consider to be perfectly normal and acceptable behavior, law sees as irresponsible, irredeemable, and foolish.
to put it plainly, you agitate him to no end.
as someone who prides himself on making sure that the choices he makes do not wholly impact those he cares about, he finds it jarring to see that you don’t necessarily think the same way as he does. you’re not quite as reckless or as simple-minded as your rambunctious captain — who, to law’s horror, also happens to be your younger brother — nor are you as cut-throat as the swordsman who serves as the vice-captain of your crew, but you’re right up there with them.
three idiots who don’t care how things are done as long as the outcome is favorable.
on the surface you don’t look like you’d have the same monstrous strength as luffy — but you do. not because of any devil fruit, but because that’s just how you’re built. you were both born to be free — wild, even — scaling and navigating the depths of dangerous jungles as children. law understands the level of savagery that you needed to cultivate to survive; the only difference is his survival was contingent on enacting revenge, and yours wasn’t.
everything about you should annoy him greatly; your laugh, your outlook on life, your impulsiveness, your ability to make him forget that he’s supposed to dislike you. it bothers him that you get along with his crew without even trying — they love your quirky humor and that you disrupt law’s peace in a way that they could never. shachi and penguin nudge bepo repeatedly, snickering loudly, while the latter does his best to ignore just how funny it is that law keeps fuming in your presence.
it’s only after law shoots them a sharp look that they shut up immediately and walk away.
“funny bunch,” you say absently, a knowing smile on your face as you proceed to be the worst nuisance the universe could ever send him.
at a certain point, after seeing your interactions with the hearts pirate captain, where it’s painfully obvious that you belong more with them than you’ve ever belonged with the straw hats, luffy suggests you tag along with law.
there’s strength in numbers, he says sagely, in between bites of food; your laugh is soft, but genuine and you doubt your younger brother even realizes what he’s said to you. there aren’t any tearful goodbyes on your part, and luffy decides on holding a large celebration in your honor — that law finds absolutely unnecessary, but begrudgingly attends — where you drink until your face flushes for the duration of the night.
on board the polar tang, you ask law a lot of pointless questions, sit way too close to him; your curiosity is unparalleled, unrestrained, chaotic, especially when you do things like stray from the plans he’s carefully laid out, or jump onto an enemy ship without even thinking twice.
that level of recklessness — what you call fearless — will get you killed; he knows that all too well, has seen what happens when someone dares to fly too close to the sun; someday someone will clip your wings and halt all of your madness.
so, why is it that he’s found himself much more at ease the more you’re around; why are you the rare exception to his rule — where he vehemently refuses to let anyone else inside his heart, the fear of losing them much greater than any hope he has of keeping them — and why does he find himself constantly looking out for you, where he ensures that there is no plan that doesn’t guarantee your safety.
you get in the habit of telling him time and time again — mostly late at night while the others are sound asleep, in between soft, playful kisses that you press against his knuckles, cheeks, and lips; ones he pretends he doesn’t like, despite reciprocating — that you’re fine, great, even. you don’t need protecting; and while law knows that, he hates that he can’t do that for you.
thankfully for him, you don’t throw it in his face; if anything, you’re just glad he’s alive, regardless of who protects who. you say as much when you openly hug him in front of your crew mates and enjoy how his cheeks flush lightly at the contact; when you hop on his lap randomly and steal bacon off of his plate in the morning; when your lips ghost along his jaw, making him forget whatever worries he has as he attempts to stay focused while reading.
he’s come to accept that you cannot be tamed, and you’ve come to accept that his pessimism isn’t wholly unwarranted, that you can stand to be a bit more careful, and that if you want law to live a long, fruitful life you should stop leaping into dangerous situations without thinking a little.
