I really need to put a pocket in this ball gown, not the least of which because the STUPID theater in my town is in the same complex as the hockey arena, and for some reason they decided that the theater should be subject to the same security measures as the hockey arena, which is: NO PURSES unless it's a teeny tiny one barely big enough to put a modern cellphone in, and anything else has to be in a CLEAR PLASTIC ZIPLOCK BAG. 😠. It is IMPOSSIBLE to look truly elegant under these conditions! Oh, I'm supposed to carry my fan and my opera glasses in a plastic ziplock bag??? Luckily, 19th century pockets were ENORMOUS, so I WILL WIN THIS WAR.
