This is my portrait of Twosret (or Tausret), the last Pharaoh of Egypt’s Nineteenth Dynasty, who reigned between 1191 and 1189 BC. At first she was the second royal wife of Seti II, but after her husband died, she become regent for their stepson Siptah, who in turn passed away at age sixteen after a brief reign of only six years. This tragic development would have promoted Twosret to become another one of Egypt’s female Pharaohs.
However, Twosret’s reign as queen regnant proved even shorter than her stepson’s, ending with a civil war that led to a man named Setnakhte seizing power and founding the Twentieth Dynasty. Setnakhte and his son Ramses III would later describe the dynasty before them as ending in chaos and even went so far as to omit Twosret and Siptah from official kings’ lists to deny their reigns’ legitimacy.

I see a lot of talk about MM and sibling stuff, and I think the only bots that are supposed to be actually related are Rock, Roll and Blues, everybody else it all comes down to personal preferences i’m pretty sure.
Like me with the cossack line, I personally see them as siblings- but if someone else sees them as just coworkers or a group of the worst dads ever trying to take care of a single blonde child that’s okay too:) i think for some, it all comes down to which is the most fun dynamic for you to play with in your brains.

"Even the Eye of Horus couldn't see how much I love you, a pharaoh couldn't bring me to my knees.. if you think I'm playing games, you should see my dreams."
I love you so much that Ra had to put a stop to it, so I slapped that bitch and blew you a kiss - eUë

It's been a while since I last drew Hatshepsut, the most famous of ancient Egypt's female Pharaohs (after Cleopatra VII, of course), so I wanted to revisit her yet again. She's probably my favorite Pharaoh in all Egyptian history to draw!

Merry Christmas Nebby!
@nebbychan Dunno when you’ll see this as I know you’re away for the holiday, but here’s your prompt of Dan Fortesque, hero of Medievil, ending up in the Land of the Dead looking for his lost love Kiya and getting some help from the residents there! Hope you like!
--
“Uh – excuse me! Pardon me! I’m – I’m really not sure where the hell I am, but would any of you be willing to offer a brave knight some help on a dangerous journey?”
Such a pronouncement was unusual in the Land of the Dead, especially in Burtonsville. Curious, the locals headed toward the source – a skeleton standing by old Bone Beauty, dressed in armor and wielding a sword with a rather nervous glint in his single blue eye. “Hey, what are you on about?” Bonejangles called, cupping his hands around his mouth. “What sort of place you goin’ that’s so dangerous?”
“The Egyptian afterlife!” the knight replied – though his voice was rather indistinct, due to his lacking a lower jaw. “Which I presume this is not? Sorry, I really don’t know where I am right now. . .”
“You’re in England!” Ethel provided. “The village of Burtonsville, to be exact. But why do you want to go to Egypt?”
“England? Okay, haven’t gone far then. . .” The knight struck a pose. “And because my lady fair has been kidnapped there!”
A curious and worried ripple went through the gathering crowd. “Kidnapped?” Ms. Plum repeated, tapping her hand with a spoon. “How?”
“I – well, that part I’m not sure about,” the knight admitted, expression turning sheepish. “Look, there has been a lot of weirdness lately – I just got dragged back to the living world to help quell some evil magician trying to take it over. For the second time, I might add,” he grumbled, running a hand over his skull. “Anyway, while I was up there, running around London, I met someone else who had been resurrected – an Egyptian princess mummy named Kiya.” He smiled warmly. “She’s – great, seriously. We really hit it off, and after we managed to save the world, I followed her into her tomb, hoping we could spend the afterlife together. But when I woke up back outside the Hall of Heroes – my afterlife – she was nowhere to be found.” His upper jaw somehow managed to flex into a scowl. “Took a while, but my friends and I eventually learned she’d ended up back in Egypt – with her old husband. The asshole Pharaoh she’d spent most of her living life running from, and who insisted she be killed to follow him as his favorite bride when she bit it. I think he must have done something to force her to return to him, so – kidnapping.”
Another ripple shot through the crowd, this time outraged. “Scandalous! No one should have to spend their whole afterlife tied to someone they don’t love!” Ethel declared, hands on her hips.
“Damn straight,” Bonejangles agreed. “This Pharaoh guy already sounds like a piece of work.”
“Someone who doesn’t know how to let go? Oh, most certainly.”
The crowd parted, allowing the speaker to step forward, eyes blazing. “I don’t know much about you, sir knight,” she continued, “but I am always ready to help a fellow lady escape an unwanted admirer. You’ve got my help on your quest.”
The rest of the crowd shouted affirmation and encouragement. “Thank you all!” the knight called, teeth curling in a grin. “Suppose I should introduce myself – Daniel Fortesque, hero of Gallowmere!”
The woman dropped a curtsy. “Lizzie Liddell, ripper-off of Bumby’s tonker. Now, how about you tell us more about this pharaoh. . .”

Dang. Just found about it today.
After 40 years, the final Anna Miller’s cafe in Japan closing down - Japan Today
Anna Miller's and its waitresses is one of the big inspirations for Café's character--or at least her backstory. She went from "a cafe-themed robot that one appears in a joke comic about coffeeshop and flower shop AUs" to "okay, so she's some kind of waitress/maid robot and I want her design based on Cut Man so she's mostly orange...orange-uniformed waitresses? That sounds familiar. Oh, right, Anna Miller's. So that mean she'd be one of many same type of robot waitresses and so one the restaurant's appeal so getting to see these cute robot women and and and--" and so on.

The name of "Hannah's" is like "Wendy's", it's named after the CEO/founders' daughter.
Tumblr media
Hannah is also the name of the very first Café Woman. Famous world over is just self-promotion but it's an international franchise. Not exactly McDonald's fast-food famous but I'm thinking more of Jollibee level. You ever hear of Jollibee? No? Anyway, look it up.
"Hannah's" is actually a Germany-based restaurant selling the idea of an American themed diner and it got so successful that they branched out to different styles of dining, reinventing their Café Women to fit necessary roles. If a Café Woman does a good enough job/shows enough promise, she can get transferred out and promoted to better branches or even better jobs. The opposite is true, Café Women who can't keep up get demoted to even more menial jobs usually reserved for "lower" robots or banished to nowhere branches in some third world country like the Philippines or Boston. There are rumors that you do a shitty enough job and not even the magnanimous Hannah would save you from being turned into scrap metal.
Anyway, that's the lore so far. Auuugh, now I have to figure how the restaurant(s!) actually looks like. Oh, no, wait, the additional lore is "Hannah's" is the main restaurant type but it's also divided into different dining styles? I explained that above but what I also meant is there's a divide between the main first branch where it was marketed by and to humans and another style for (usually humanoid) robots. Main Hannah's has a mostly human menu and name pending...uh, Robot Hannah's (lol) is mostly for the advanced humanoid robot's menu. It's not like they're not allowed in the other type of restaurant but it's more an ease of convenience since the humanoid robots tend to be all over the place in shape and size and energy needs. At some point I had to make the amendment because I could squeeze Tundra and team in the more ordinary booth types and maybe ordinary human food but other weirdass robot body shapes kept coming up and I didn't want to bar them from the cutesy cafe setting so I had to think of this shit. What a headache!
I hope this is more fun to read about in a (possible) comic instead of just telling the lore in some boring ass tumblr post.

have you ever been in love atem
His heart gave a slight squeeze when the masked stranger asked their question and his elated expression fell. But it lasted for only a moment before he regained his composer, allowing a small, pained smile to tug at his lips. "Yes, I was. Deeply, in fact. So deep that you could say I was drowning in the euphoria of it." He replied, his tone only providing a small hint of the sadness that the memory riddled him with. "But it did not last."
