if the boys are visible then i NEED, like my life depends on it kinda need, a carrie and alex friendship.

like imagine, maybe at first alex gets scared and feels like he needs to hide it from the band. so he lies and says he’s hanging with willie but then the boys see willie on the street so they get nervous and think alex is cheating. but then they see carrie and alex at a cafe laughing together and having the best time.

and eventually he brings her to the garage and her and julie end up having a duet where they make up and then they’re all friends and it’s cute and AHHHHH

Carrie was at every Julie And The Phantoms performance when she could have just left (she literally could have walked out of the ambush performance of Bright and went to class, the Eats & Beats performance of Finally Free was after hers and she didn’t need to stay but she did, for a reason, maybe not the Orpheum performance of Stand Tall because she was with Trevor, but she could have made the excuse to run to the bathroom and stayed there or something), or not literally crashed it because she was not invited in the first place (she said “I’m sure she just forgot to invite me” when Nick asked what she was doing there).

She watches them because she wants to. She may be glaring daggers the entire time, but she stays and watches and listens because she likes their music and she still cares about Julie. She claims Julie’s no friend and she doesn’t trust her, but she also said Julie is one of her oldest friends and really only gets mad about her and the band because they’re really good and they get louder applause from crowds and it irritates her because of how hard she works.

Julie and Flynn were willingly at both Dirty Candy performances, too. They could have stayed in the empty music room playing trumpets or whatever, but they chose to go watch Dirty Candy at the rally and they chose to stay inside and watch them again at Eats & Beats instead of waiting outside or in the bathroom. And Flynn said (not in the exact words, but still) that their costumes in the Wow performance looked cool and the choreography was good and Julie said spending the money paid off and then at Eats & beats, Julie said it was good and Flynn said it made her forget why she hated Carrie.

They watch her because they want to. Flynn may roll her eyes and comment on her in a sarcastic or sassy tone, but they stay and watch and listen because they like her music and they still care about Carrie. Flynn calls her a Demon and Julie jokes with Nick about Carrie being “not the nicest person”, but Flynn also basically compliments her and Julie openly compliments her and states that she’s actually kinda good.

I beg of all the JATP and HSMTMTS stans to consider Petewell and Caswilson being a product of EJ moving to LA to find himself alright

EJ applies to Caltech in a spur of the moment decision after joining the AV club and what do you know, he gets an acceptance letter

at first he facetimes Gina and Ashlyn every single day, never wanting to admit how alone he feels, it's the first time he hasn't had Ash there by his side and he just doesn't know how to handle himself in a place that's brand new

when he eventually meets Carrie he finally feels like he has someone who understands him. They are so much alike but Carrie will also tell him exactly how it is.

She calls him out when he needs to be but she also supports him endlessly. He tells her about East High and everything that happened and it takes a lot of reassuring her that he's fine now to convince her not to fly to Salt Lake and yell at anyone and everyone. She's very protective of him.

EJ is front row at every Dirty Candy show and he listens any time Carrie just needs to vent about something. He'll drop everything he's doing if he notices her feeling a little off and sometimes it takes some coaxing cause she isn't too used to people wanting to listen just to listen. It's not something she's ever really had before. EJ reminds her often that he's there for anything she needs.

They quickly become confidants. Literally the best of friends.

The only place that makes him feel as comfortable as he does with Carrie is the beach.

It was the very first place he went to after moving to LA on his own. It's a place where he feels free. He stares out into the ocean and realizes there are no expectations for him there. He can finally just exist and decide who he wants to be all on his own.

And yeah, maybe the cute surfer boy with the pretty blue eyes and the long brown hair who says hi to him every time he sees him is an added bonus.

They don't have too many conversations at first. Then one day EJ sees him dragging a guitar case onto his back porch before sprinting inside and then running back out with a surfboard instead and that day they have a rather long conversation about music.

EJ goes home later than usual and immediately spills everything to Carrie with a huge smile on his face. He's got this dopey smile and he's blushing a lot but Carrie less than amused. She finally recognizes who the cute surfer boy is. One Reggie Peters. And she sighs cause there really is no escaping the Phantoms.

When Gina and Ashlyn finally come visit EJ in LA they are just so surprised. Yeah, they talk to him all the time but seeing him is completely different.

And it has nothing to do with the tan skin and swearing that he got taller. He holds himself differently. His smile is more genuine. He doesn't look tired anymore. He eagerly tells them everything and it hits them that he's just...happy. And he never really been like that before.

They had been positive that LA EJ would be different than Salt Lake EJ but they had no idea.

He has inside jokes with Carrie and he doesn't take them to his beach cause he doesn't want them to embarrass him in front of cute surfer boy cause "I think I'm finally getting somewhere with him."

He takes them out to eat and shows them all the projects he's been working on and he's just so excited about everything
