apart from the challenges of the city not quite being an "escape" from the shopping and nightlife culture in Banff, Calvin really, REALLY loves mountains and has this weird habit of basing a solid third of his identity on being able to see them (the other thirds include westerns and The Industry).

When the very common imagery of Summer tackling the tinniest season didn't even garner a snicker from the coldest season, Autumn hummed. "You okay?"

"As fine as can be, given the circumstances," Winter admitted, perching on the armrest of the nearest sofa. The call cloud drifted towards her, hovering beside her now. "I imagine, had you and Summer not intervened, that could've been way worse. Thank you for that."

"Of course! We all know how she can get. You sure you're okay for the time being? If you'd like to chat, I'm happy to listen," Autumn said with a warm smile.

"Oh, I appreciate the offer, Autumn. I really do. But no. Not right now. I'm just going to process what's happened and then perhaps crawl into bed and bury myself in blankets for a bit."

I was always amused that my cousin has his birthday the day before mine, and my college friend had her birthday the day after mine, so I get the excitement finding a birthday buddy. october is the best month and its not even close. the weather is neither burning hot like september and earlier, nor freezing cold like november and later, we usually get at least a few days of rain and more overcast days, the trees that change color are pretty, especially on the mountainside, and its spooky month 🌧️🍂👻

i pay my fees for the semester and check my email and the next email i get is my utility bill and then when i finish paying that the next email is my internet bill and like *gagging* adulthood really is just paying money right and left

last night i fucking SLAMMED through shit-all ch 4 and finished the draft proper! as in! it would be a comprehensible and full chapter if i were to post it as is! but i won't, because i want to go over and iron out a few wonky bits first. but still!

i can now CONFIDENTLY say that the chapter will be out this month!

it might be out even on the 30th instead of 31st, as a bday treat to me. but only if all you reading it promise me to wish me a happy bday in the comments (joking not joking)

we'll see if one day i'll be able to clear out my desk so that i can get back to drawing some nice serireis to go with the chapters, too...

🌻 Back to school season, which isn't really as busy for me as it is for my teacher friends (who happen to be married; one teaches high school, the other elementary), but I promised to help with classroom set ups and open houses if they need a hand

🌻 Studying for my ACCUPLACER test

🌻 My birthday, which happens to fall on a super blue moon!!

🌻 Start prep for the colder seasons coming in (towards the end of August I pull out my autumn and winter clothing to see what I have, what I need, what fits me and what doesn't. I double checks my Cozy Stuff supply too and start getting things to help with my depression, which I have year round but gets worse in the winter)

🌻 Getting test results back for things related to my reproductive organs and their overall functioning and health

🌻 A couple of birthdays for people in my church families
