Talia took a 20+ Year Undercover mission a while ago
So! Talia is the Daughter of Ra's Al Ghul, and has been alive and at his side for many years now. Decades even. She is well into her 100's, even though her physical Body looks like that of a 20 yr old.
And in all the years that she has lived, what's to say she didn't take a few years off as a vacation? Even Ra's must take a few years off every once in a while, leaving to spend time on some remote island he can relax on for once. So, one day in the Early 80's she decided to do the same.
But she wouldn't be completely relaxing, she would take the break to further the League's goals still. She decided to Dye her Hair, change her Name, get into an acceptable College, and study Lazarus Waters to their scientific limit. She decided to name if Ectoplasm, to avoid any unwanted attention.
And while there, she met a pair of men doing the exact same.
Jack and Vladimir were nice enough. Although their Research was more focused on Ghosts, or as she would call them, Pit Demons. They were convinced that Ectoplasm and Ghosts came from another Dimension, and if they could find a way to open a Dimension Gateway to this theoretical Ghost Zone, they could aquire Limitless Clean Energy (and maybe find a way to contain the Ghostly threat).
Over the years, Talia Maddie would fall for Jack. Eventually, even after she had completed her College Studies and Vlad had left contact with them, she decided to extend her Vacation to further study Ectoplasm with Jack. One thing led to another, and eventually she found herself pregnant. And then it happened again.
Jazzmine and Daniel were the cutest little babies. But she knew the danger they would be in if it was ever discovered that she was their Mother, so she trained them in everything she could so they could survive. She knew her time as Maddie Fenton was coming short, but she resolved to stay, at the very least until Jazz was an Adult.
She didn't account for Daniel becoming a Small Town Hero, but those were just the Trials of motherhood.
Then, the day came. She left a note on her bedside table explaining that she regretted what had to happen, and left in the middle of the night. It was better this way.
...
The year right after she returned, her Father forced her to have a Child with his most prospective Heir. The Bat, he called himself. Oh he was Charming, there was no denying that, but unfortunately she was still working through her feelings about Jack.
She treated her resulting child poorly because of that, and that she regreted it deeply. She loved him, honestly she did, but it was hard to look at him and not remember Daniel. Still, she persevered.
The day she once again had to give up her son for his protection was the hardest of her life.
But it was unavoidable. The Coup that had taken her Father's life had also fractured the Organization, anyone could have taken their shot at her Son as the rightful Heir. She needed to protect him as she took care of the Traitors.
...
Damian always knew he was the One True Heir. It was his defining character trait for his early years of life. Even though he had grown to be more than just that over recent years, he always felt like it was a key part of his identity.
Until now.
Because the BatComputer had just finished running a DNA Test on the Blood of a man who he had spotted on his Patrol the previous night.
A DNA Test that had come back, with results claiming that the man, who looked almost exactly like a younger male version of his Mother, was his Half Brother.

Polycule Talia, Jack and Maddie
It all started when Damian chose Bruce over her, and Talia, while never admitting it, was massively depressed about it. Imagine her surprise as this tiny astronaut-dressed child tried to cheer her up, and that was how she met the rest of the Fenton's later.
+
Don't ask how.
But somehow that led to Talia joining a polycule with Jack and Maddie.
It had been a Maddie's idea, and that was how Danny and Jasmine got a new mother.
Jack was like how her EX-BELOVED always was before public; but he really was a loving Himbo.
+
Even Ra likes Jack much more than Bruce; this husband of his daughter didn't even once try to change her views.
Ra liked Maddie, Danny, and Jasmine too.
Maddie tried to kill him the moment she saw him the first moment, that alone shows she can protect each other and family.
Danny liked his sword mom, and Jazz liked to talk with her too.
+
For. Talia: This was life; she had a good relationship, and they let her help her father, not like Bruce was against it.
So she was having a second home stay in Amity Park with her Mad Scientist husband and wife and step children.
She was teaching Danny how to read the stars and Jazz how to use a sword.

DP x DC 💡 ♻️
Parent Swap
A Desiree Wish gone wrong (?) or maybe the kids had enough and decides to do something about their respective parents.
The Wayne kids had enough of Talia and Bruce relationship so they put them in a Parent Swap TV program. Brucie has no choice. Talia just wants to grant her habibi's birthday wish.
The Fentons are running a bit low on cash since they ended their GIW contracts. So when the idea of getting a "vacation/research" opportunity to Gotham appears, they take it. The catch is its a Parent Swap Program.
Let chaos begin.

A Funny Take on Danny being Damian's Brother
You've probably seen this. Danny Fenton is adopted by the Fentons and is actually the son of Bruce and Talia named Danyal, making him Damian's brother. Now here's the humorous take
In this universe, Damian does have a brother named Danyal. He has meta powers too. Just a lowkey version of Luffy's, so a punch that should logically pierce his chest? It just causes his back to stretch out and just hurt a lot. And due to cosmic coincidence, whenever he's angry, a random green light from the environment would hit his eyes, making them seem to glow
But he's not Danny Fenton. In fact, Danny Fenton isn't even from this universe
But Jack got the house sent to another universe. Again. So the Fentons decide this is vacation time until Jack fixes things. And while Danny's out, he runs into Damian. Or Talia
In any case, cue random friendly attack as a bonding exercise. Which Danny counters with a move identical to Danyal, leading them to believe he's Danyal. They don't believe his denials and think he's poorly pretending to not know them. His denials are especially hard to believe because they both have the same "scary eyes" and tankiness
The Fentons are not going to be amused by this random family trying to abduct their son and would insist on a DNA test just to clear things up. Except the DNA tests matches Danny with DC parent. Not willing to take things lying down, the Fentons run their own DNA and matches perfectly, to everyone's surprise. Then a third test matches Jack with Bruce 100% or Maddie with Talia, depending on who runs into who first
And the real Danyal? As soon as he hears about this, he's gonna want to smuggle himself to DP with the Fentons when all this is over. DC is kinda a shithole compared to DP. Besides, it’s not like the Fenton parents are observant enough to notice 2 versions of Danny if he gets caught anyway

Continuation from my other TWIN AU
So I like to think Danny is SUPER good at acting and pretending that he doesn’t realize when he actually started to see Jazz as a sister when she would hold him close when he woke up from nightmares (like Damien would do) and call him a little astronaut, or when he would call him baby brother and make him feel special and loved—until it was too late!
Or when that nerdy kid obsessed with tech became his best friend by being a social outcast with him.
Or when that edgy goth girl who moved to Amity Park near the same time he did became his second best friend when she decked that stupid blonde kid for taking Tucker’s glasses before Danny could.
Danny at the age of 13 decided that these people mattered to him yet could never replace his baby brother of a twin Damien. It was a 13 when it look like his mission would be ending soon. And it was at 13 when he decided that when the portal would be working to blow it up (make it look like an accident) and grab Jazz and take her with him back to Nanda Parbat with him.
And if she refused….
Danny would deal with that when he gets there, for now he just sits and waits, training in secret everyday.
Today was his 14th birthday. “happy birthday Damien” he said out loud when he woke up that morning.
He goes downstairs and finds Jazz making him pancakes. This was nice. He hoped Damien was having a good birthday, maybe he got to train with grandfather that morning? Maybe their mother got him a gift? A new weapon perhaps, maybe a pet? Damien always wanted a pet—so did Danny but Damien was the more responsible of the two of them.
Jazz hugged him when she saw him, she smiled and ran to the other room to get him his gift. Danny sat and waited for her to come back before he started to eat.
Her parents barged up from the lab saying they finished the portal…. Jazz snapped at them saying that it can wait because it’s Danny’s birthday. Danny tells her it’s fine and that he is actually excited to see the portal. Danny’s mission will finally be over… he could go home and see his brother again, this would be an amazing birthday he thought. The Fenton parents excitedly pulled/carried Danny and Jazz to watch them turn on the thing.
Danny look on and watched as they made a show of connecting the extension cords but after a small spark and an excess amount of energy nothing happened….
Jack and Maddie both bowed their heads in defeat before saying they were going to take a break from the portal. Danny internally cursed the fates! He begrudgingly walked away with Jazz in tow, she asked what he planned for the day, it is the last week before school after all! Danny smiled and told her that Sam and Tucker were coming over to hang out.
Sam and Tucker hear about the portal and want to take a look, Danny uses this as an excuse to go down and try and grab the blueprints/look at where the Fenton parents went wrong.
He goes in and comes out dead….
As soon as he is out he is surprising calm/WAY more calm than Sam and Tucker who are crying because their best friend just DIED!!!
Danny manages to get them to calm down and tells them that he is ok.
They go home and Danny goes to take a nap cuz that was a lot! Sure Ra’s would get on Danny’s case for being so stupid and then resting, but Danny thinks he desirves a rest. He just got shocked and brought back to life, it’s not the first time but still! Lazarus Water really takes a lot out of you…. The more Danny thinks about it he gets more and more confused…. Why wasn’t he experiencing Pit Rage? Why hadn’t he gone an a killing spree like how he did when he was dipped in the pit when he was younger…? Danny held his hand out in front of him. There were scars running up his arm like lightning from where he turned on the portal, they glowed a faint green in the dark.
Death Scars. A voice in the back of his head told him….
Something about his experience with the portal was different than when he was dipped into the pit back in Nanda Parbat…. Danny stood on wobbly legs at the dead on night and using the shadows like how he was trained stalked down to the basement, it was almost like he was invisible…. Wait…. Was he invisible???? Another weird thing to look into….
There in the lab Jack and Maddie were excitedly taking notes and running tests on the portal. Danny—using both his skills as an assassin and his new found invisibility—snuck down and watched them work. They may be eccentric but that didn’t mean they weren’t smart, they talked about theory’s and ideas for hours until they decided to go to bed. Danny watched and waited the whole time like how he was trained to do. When they finally went upstairs for the night, Danny slinked out of the shadows and took a look around.
As he was looking a green blob flew out of the open portal and began to mess with Danny’s hair. Danny jumped away to look at it and turned invisible, the blob mimics him and trills in excitement when Danny turns back and continued to mess with his hair. Danny looked at his reflection and was shocked that he didn’t find the usual image of Damien’s face looking at him but rather a white haired boy with Lazarus water in his eyes….
What is he?
What happened that made him turn into this rather than go mad like before?
…grandfather probably wouldn’t mind if he did his own research before coming home…. Maybe he could use this to his advantage.

Thought Ramble Time!
(Also, this is, like, biology class time so unless you know what happens to a body when exposed to chemicals you might not get this. Good Luck! :D )
I suggest that those who do not what a biology lesson with a long post should leave to save themselves the headache this was.
Ok so here’s the thing. The fandom likes to make the Lazarus Pit and Ectoplasm as one of the same things with the Pit being a corrupted version of Ectoplasm. The corruption of the ectoplasm is the reason why Jason is always in a Pit Rage or something of that sort.
Let me lay this out.
Danny is a Halfa who is both a human and a ghost. Jason, while different for everyone, will be a Liminal since that's the most common occurrences that people like to write him as. (No, I’m not saying he isn’t a ghost or halfa or anything like that, this is just an idea ramble from the au bin, ok?!)
Jason was dipped into the Pit/Ectoplasm while Danny was ripped apart and put back together in multiple secessions in seconds.
What I am trying to say is how different they both are in means of creation and the different sub species there can be.
Ok so let's start with the easiest - Jason.
Jason was dipped once into the Pit which is ectoplasm. That means he is contaminated with ectoplasm in his body and rewriting his DNA from the exposer of a chemical that no living being should touch. Ectoplasm is for the dead but, while brain dead in a sense, he was very much alive. Think of how someone might get exposed to a nuclear bomb and having their body changing and dying from such occurrences. That right there is what is happening to Jason’s body. Jason is technically dying yet still very much alive, so the question is, how is Jason still alive?
Well, it might be because he is immune or has something in his body that is preventing that. If we look at the history of the Pit, only the al Ghul’s and a selective few are able to leave from the Pit alive while everyone else dies. I think it's because they have a gene or something rare in them, like being the one in a billion kind of rare that makes them immune/prevent them from dying from ectoplasm exposer. Thats like saying someone has type O blood or such.
If that was the case, then Ra’s would also count as well from the millions of times he used the Pit yet still come out alive.
However, exposer doesn’t mean no mutations. I think they both do have mutations that either affect the brain or nervous system (which can explain some of their actions honestly) because of the violent and instant exposer they both had. Such violent methods will have consequences on their bodies even if their bodies are keeping them from dying.
Now what if someone is exposed to the ectoplasm but not skin to skin exposer? Well, that's how we have the Fenton’s.
The Fenton’s are scientist who study ectoplasm and worked hard on their research of that area but based on how unsafe and lightly they seem to take from being exposed by ectoplasm, much less a house hazard of open chemicals, they are being exposed in a slower degree.
Jason was out right exposed to ectoplasm right off the bat in a violent clash while the Fenton’s had years of exposers on them including Vlad Masters. They study the substances, while careful at first, are way more carefree in handling ectoplasm though the years to come. This gradual exposer of ectoplasm is what will mutate their bodies for years so that they, too, are immune to ectoplasm. Not naturally mind you, by a biochemical change of exposer that could have lasting effects on them such as change of eye color of disfiguring or brain damage.
As of right now, Jason Todd, Ra’s al Ghul, Maddie and Jack Fenton are the Exposer Group. They are the people that got exposed by the ectoplasm/Pit and were either mutated or biochemically changed in a way.
Now for the off springs.
For both Ra’s and Maddie/Jack Fenton, they are already exposed and adapted to the ectoplasm, hence, the mutation in their bodies. This mutation is designed into their very DNA, which would also be passed down if given to an offspring.
Namely Talia al Ghul, Damian al Ghul nee Wayne, Jazz Fenton and Danny Fenton.
While Talia, Jazz and Danny are of direct offspring, Damian is an offspring of an exposed offspring. Please keep this in mind.
Ok so since these four are offsprings of those who are exposed and consequently, had their bodies biochemical mutated, that means their bodies also have the mutation that is of the exposer of exoplasm. Originally, this can either mean they have the same mutation their parents have, but since having DNA from unnatural mutated donors is still a half on half chance (because a baby has half its DNA from mom and half from dad) that would mean that Talia would have half of Ra’s mutation while Jazz and Danny have a full mutation in their bodies (because both Maddie and Jack has it) with Damian inheriting 1/4 of that mutated DNA.
Reality would show that mutation is a bad thing to have and for your offspring, however, it would seem that having the mutation might be a good thing since there is not many flaws, unless natural human flaws, are displayed by both the comics and the shows.
This inherited mutation can explain some things like the four’s more intelligent minds or maybe immunity to some diseases. The mutations can be identical for all four or it can be different for each one. However, it has to show that Jazz and Danny will have the most mutation compared to Talia, and Talia compared to Damain.
Originally, the four were going to be called the Inherited Mutated Group, but that's wrong since these four are continually getting exposed to ectoplasm as well.
Danny and Jazz are self-explanatory if you look at the food they fight and the house they sleep in. This version of their house can explain that either the LOL is contaminated as well or that Talia and Damian are making constant trips to visit the Pit. Either way, a constant exposer of ectoplasm will enhance their mutation and potential affects to this as well. Their affects won’t be as harmful since they are all from the mutated line, meaning they are born to adapt to the mutation rather well, but that's doesn’t mean they won’t get a mutation that is at a disadvantage to them either.
Another thing to note is that both Damian and Talia were instantly exposed to ectoplasm as well, as in skin-to-skin exposer.
So as of now, Talia al Ghul, Damian al Ghul nee Wayne, Jazz Fenton and Danny Fenton are all part of the Mutated Group.
Now to the last group which features Vlad Masters and Danny Fenton.
While both are from two different lines, they both do end up in the same subgroup which is to be recreated with the ectoplasm in an instant creation exposer.
When both Vlad and Danny were zapped by the Ghost Portal, they were ripped apart molecule by molecule and put back together forcefully before being ripped again and put back together. Again. In an endless cycle that was too fast for the human eye can see, yet lasted seconds for both of them.
Now here’s the things.
Vlad was part of the exposed line who was recreated, which means his body was not made to take in ectoplasm but was forcefully adapted to do so. This would cause mutations to his body to be less efficient and more harmful on his persona since his body was original not meant for a reaction of ectoplasmic chemicals.
Danny, on the other hand, was born to accept the mutation in his body unlike Vlad. So, when Danny got zapped, his body was far more adaptable, and if I was to go as far as to say, wanting the need of ectoplasm in his body since his body was born mutated. This would mean that his body is more accepting to the mutations and changes his body will undergo and at a faster rate (hence why Danny was able to gain his ghost powers faster than Vlad).
Ok, so now that I said this, Danny and Vlad are of the Recreation Group.
And you would think that we are done but no, we are not.
Danielle. Uggggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I- I was going to say she is more mutated and grown backwards or something like that but my brain hurts so I'm a stop.
But yes, that's my biological mutation DNA brain ramble.
So list time!
Exposer (Instant) - Jason and Ra’s al Ghul [Bodies are immune and exposed]
Exposer (Gradual) - Maddie and Jack Fenton / Vlad Masters [Bodies are mutated]
Mutated Line - Jazz and Danny Fenton / Talila al Ghul and Damian Wayne/al Ghul [Direct line of those exposed, DNA mutated]
Exposed Mutated Line (Gradual) - Jazz and Danny Fenton / Talila al Ghul and Damian Wayne/al Ghul [Continues exposer even when natural mutation / Enchanted mutation]
Exposed Mutated Line (Instant) - Talia al Ghul and Damian al Ghul nee Wayne [Mutated line that is violently exposed to chemical, hence, instant mutated change.
Recreated Exposed Line (Gradual) - Vlad Masters [Recently mutated and recreation of biology]
Recreated Mutated Line - Danny Fenton [Mutated and recreation of biology]

Since I've listed the pros and cons of Danyal Al'Ghul vs Daniel Kyle and decided that Daniel Kyle is superior, here's the Danyal Al'Ghul story.
A silver and green half-track, built on the frame of an RV, screeched into the parking lot as the sun set, a trail of dust behind it slowly drifting in the wind. Its bottom half was caked in mud, the green, comet-like logo branded with a darker, green 'F' just barely above the filth. The driver and passenger doors exploded open, violently spewing mud in all directions, as a massive, day-glo orange neoprene wearing man catapulted his bulk from the driver's side and a much smaller, feminine figure clad in a teal, neoprene jumpsuit with its hood pulled over her head flipped out of the passenger seat. Both skidded to a halt facing the worn, dirty warehouse they'd come for.
"Ready, Mads?" The jolly, orange giant called.
"Always ready to catch some ghosts, Jack."
"Fenton Family Ghost Hunting Taskforce, move in!" In dramatically quiet, but nonetheless obvious, fashion, the obnoxiously orange man and his blue suited, red goggled wife unlimbered their respective bazookas and crept towards the door of the warehouse.
When they reached the door, they both posed, Maddie dramatically chose to crouch as low as possible with her feet spread wide apart, her bazooka held in one hand while the other hand grasped the door handle to open it. Jack chose to pose like an action figure next to the door; his bazooka was held diagonally across his body, his...large chest thrust forward, his shoulders back, and an idiotically serious look was plastered on his face.
Maddie opened the door as quietly as possible, the door creaked loudly like nails on a chalk board, and then, when the door was fully open, red lights burst into being inside the warehouse and a warning klaxon sounded. Jack stuck his head inside the doorframe to see what ghosts awaited them and rapidly ducked back behind the doorframe. Dozens of arrows whistled through the space where his head had been moments before.
"We've got a ghost, Maddie!"
"Ja--"
"CHARGE!" Jack put action to words and heaved himself through door, bazooka first, behind a shield of green fire from the mouth of his Fenton Bazooka. Maddie, less enthusiastically, followed her enthusiastic husband.
The interior of the warehouse was dark, lit intermittently by the flashing of the warning lights, but it was so loud that a normal person would have gone hoarse attempting to be heard over the cacophony of klaxons and sirens wailing. For Jack, he would only need to use his indoor voice.
The interior of the warehouse was filled with wooden crates, pallets, metal bins, and high shelves of industrial quality, but there didn't seem to be any people or ghosts inside. Maddie and Jack continued in the warehouse, they were certain there were ghosts inside. Nobody would ever lie to their tip-line, after all.
Jack lead them through the apparently emtpy warehouse, "Show yourself, spook! You've bothered innocent people long enough!"
Maddie pressed her left hand to her forehead, he'd just given up any surprise they'd had left.
The sirens, alarms, and klaxons fell silent as the echoes of her husband's demand faded. "I am not a ghost. Are you a blimp, orange man?" The voice seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere.
Jack puffed up even further as he craned his neck, attempting to locate the spirit, "I am *not* a *blimp*!"
Maddie jumped to her husband's aid, he was ever so terrible at banter, "Show yourself, ghost! You've haunted this place long enough!"
A confused chuckled reached their ears, "You aren't welcome here, humans. Leave my lair now, or I will destroy you."
Jack fired and arcing barrage of green blasts towards the direction the chuckle emanated from, "Take that!" They watched each shot splash off the shelves and rafters near the roof, Jack had missed.
The chuckle came back in force, "That wasn't even close, fat man," the voice turned malevolent, "My turn." Small, black balls whistled in from out of the darkness and landed at Jack and Maddie's feet.
Jack's boat horn of a laugh sounded for a second, "Ha! You miss--" the balls exploded, clouding the area in smoke.
Feet slapped against the ground, and something darted through the smoke. Jack fired at it, but it was already gone. The shadow darted back in, trailing something that glinted dully in the smokey haze.
"Jack! Look out!" Maddie called as she leaped in front of her husband, the collapsible Fenton Machete in hand. Maddie clashed with the shadow's silver whisp, and they circled each other; Maddie's machete darted in and out of the ghost's space, her blade a whirlwind of efficiency, but each strike was countered by that dastardly spook's silver whisp. Jack attempted to circle Maddie to line up a shot on the ghost, but for every step he took, the shade moved too, successfully keeping Maddie between it and Jack.
The repeated, rapid movements of Maddie and shadow began to clear the smoke, and as it dissipated, the ghost disappeared again. "A challenge, unexpected, but not unwelcome. Why do you hang around that buffoon when you could be so much more?"
"I'll never be a ghost!" Maddie retorted.
"We will see, blue woman."
"Think it left," Jack inquired.
"For now, it'll be back."
The duo continued to scan the warehouse, but quickly reached the back wall. "Look at this!"
Maddie turned her back on the open space of the warehouse, "What is it J-- Is that a detonator?"
Jack slapped on his best, oafish grin, "Want to test our theory of ghost dependence on the stability of their lair?"
Maddie's face twisted into a grin, "It *would* be a good experiment; great idea hon--" she cut off at a most unexpected sound. A baby's wails just barely reached her ears, "Do you hear that?"
"It's probably just a trick from that spook!"
"What if it isn't? We can't kill a baby, Jack," so Maddie continued to hunt the baby with Jack dogging her steps, grumbling about no good specters.
"Stay away from there!" Resounded from the rafters, drawing fire from Jack. "I will destroy you, leave my lair!"
"I'm not leaving a child with a ghost!" Maddie called out.
Whistling arrows rained from the air, Maddie rolled and flipped her way behind a crate as the arrows pinged off the concrete floor. Jack ducked behind a larger-than-Jack crate and looked to Maddie who met his eyes, "Get the baby, I'll handle this spook."
Jack darted in the direction of the cries as Maddie stepped out from behind the crates with her machete drawn, "Come on, dazzle me!" Smoke bombs rained from above, each shattered on the hard floor to unleash their smoke.
Jack looked back as he ran for the baby, the last he saw of Maddie was her small form standing in defiance of a dark ghost as a cloud of smoke writhed around her, growing higher and higher till it engulfed her teal form.
Maddie faced into the cloud and closed her eyes, listening to a voice from long ago, her sensei.
-----------------
"But Sensei, I can't see!"
"When you close off one sense, all the others are heightened; what do you hear, what do you feel? Listen, feel the ground, the air around you. You can fight, even if you cannot see. Just do, don't think."
----------------
Maddie raised her machete to her left; she heard and felt the clang of metal on metal as the "ghost's" blade bit into hers. "You'll have to be faster than that," and she exploded into action.
The shadow she fought darted in and out of range, targeting the hand holding her machete, but every step, every breath, every swish of its blade carried to her perfect ears. Maddie answered each blow and each step as though she were dancing.
"This isn't possible!" Her opponent called out.
"This isn't over yet," Maddie answered the kidnapper, "Let me show you what's possible." Then, Maddie attacked.
---------
Jack found an area cordoned off from the rest of the warehouse by a wall of thick blankets, and he entered. Inside, he found a room centered around a wheeled cart supporting a plastic bin holding a small, wrinkled infant. The baby truly was an infant; Jack remembered how Jazz, his daughter, looked when she'd been born and when they'd been allowed to take her home, and to him, this baby appeared to be only a few days old. A few days old an already stolen by a ghost.
A foul smell reached Jack's nose, but not one that needed changing; Jack followed his nose to an area outside the blankets. The office he followed the smell to was empty for the most part, but held two corpses, a man and a woman, each covered in their own blood and holding the other; the baby's parents. His face twisted in anger, *darn Spooks!*
He ran back to the baby and scooped the infant into his arms, "I've got ya, buddy; let's get out of here, okay?" The baby fell silent, staring at Jack. Jack started back towards the way he'd come in, but came face to face with the smoke cloud his wife was in. The clash of metal, snarls of anger, and the stamp of feet echoed out from the impassive, dark cloud. "You get 'em, honey," Jack whispered, hoping she'd be okay.
Jack and the baby circled the cloud of smoke, which led Jack back to the detonator. Still filled with anger from the sight of the baby's family, Jack tucked the infant into one of his massive pockets and began to work on the detonator.
----------
In the center of the smoke, a clear space had emerged centered on the battle between Maddie and the assassin. "You're no ghost."
"Took you long enough." The darkly wrapped figured dashed towards Maddie again, and was again repulsed with a wall of steel and muscle.
They circled each other, watching for the slightest opening. Maddie took one step back, then another, slowly approaching the veil of smoke. The assassin snarled when he saw what she was doing, "You won't escape!"
"Try to stop me," Maddie sassed and then disappeared into the smoke.
-----------------
Jack began to nervously scan the area around him, the sounds of battle had stopped, but he hadn't heard anything to tell him who won. *Please let it be Mads.* His hands continued a moment longer, and then he looked at his handiwork, "Done!"
Jack slung his bazooka over his back, removed the infant from his pocket, and made to leave the warehouse, just like Maddie said.
Halfway to the exit, he heard a snarl and spun, facing up, to see the darkly wrapped ghost with its glowing, green eyes dropping towards him, blade poised to end Jack's life. Jack froze, and the blade kept coming closer and closer; time seemed to slow down. There were so many things Jack still wanted to do, but there was so little time left.
A teal blur crashed into the ghost and carried them through a line of shelves and back into the red-lit darkness. The two had barely made a sound, and Jack had never felt so out of his depth; Jack was loud, but this battle was silent; Jack was bright, even his jumpsuit was day-glo orange, but this was a fight in the shadows; Jack hefted the infant and continued to bustle towards the door.
----------------
Maddie and the assassin crashed into the ground and flipped apart, her smaller stature belied their matched skill. "Stay away from my husband."
"You should have stayed away from the babe, now you must both die."
Their blades clashed, each blade covered in bite marks and scratches. Maddie's red goggles glared into the assassin's green goggles, then she rammed her shin into his thigh, eliciting a grunt from the ferocious man. She tried again, but his free hand dashed out, grabbed her shoulder, and flipped her through the air.
Maddie landed lightly on her feet, knees bent to absorb the shock and met the goggles of her enemy. "Still not dazzled, come on!"
"Where's your husband going, Mrs. *Fenton*?" Maddie froze, "Did you really think slapping your name on everything wouldn't give you away? You can't hide from us, you might as well die now."
Her eyes narrowed and her feet adjusted, "No, now *you* have to die." Maddie attacked.
----------------
Jack huffed as he ran through the doors and towards the Fenton Family Ghost Assault Vehicle, infant in tow. "Almost there, bud," he wheezed, "Almost," he panted, "there." Jack hauled the passenger door open and laid the baby on the seat. Jack rested with one arm on the doorframe, the other on the door, and his eyes on the baby he'd just saved, "You okay, boy? I'm sure Maddie will be out in a minute."
Jack waited. He felt like he'd waited an eternity, but he waited longer. Maddie would be out, she'd make it, she'd win. She was a Fenton, Fentons don't lose to ghosts.
---------‐-
Maddie continued to back away as the assassin flooded towards her, his blade a whirlwind of destruction. She parried, waiting for an opening, but they'd both learned too much about the other to leave any; whoever made the first mistake would die.
As she backed into an open space littered with pallets and crates, Maddie began to feel fear; if she looked behind her, she'd die, but if she didn't look behind her, she'd walk into something and die. Maddie waited for the assassin to slash towards her neck again and helped the blade along its trajectory with her own before rolling past the assassin and lunging from her crouch towards his head.
The assassin rolled under lunge away from her. When he faced her, he had his back to the room of crates and tripping hazards. Her face twisted in a feral grin, "Now, you die."
She carefully drove the assassin towards obstacle after obstacle, each time he tried to get behind her to return the favor, she drove him back yet again with further, skilled aggression. Her machete was pitted and dented, but it was built for hacking through branches, brush, and whatever else. The assassin wasn't so lucky; his blade was thin, deadly, but not meant for intense, drawn-out combat.
The assassin backed himself into a tall crate, and with no other choice, he lunged at Maddie. Maddie swept his blade to the side, stepped forward, grabbed his hilt with her free hand, and rammed her machete into the back of his blade as she yanked his hilt higher. The assassin headbutted her, and she stumbled back, but she'd already won.
Sensing an opening from her stumble, the assassin attacked; every slash, every thrust, every movement he made, she defended the same way. She hammered the center of his sword with her machete.
"Getting lazy?" The assassin mocked.
"No, you?"
They crashed into each other yet again. Maddie blew past the assassin's guard and threw him to the ground. A metallic snap echoed through the chamber. He flipped to his feet and back into his guard, but with only half his sword.
Maddie smiled sweetly at the assassin, "Size isn't everything, sweetie, but I think you're going to need to compensate."
"Still enough here to kill you."
"Oh honey, that's where you're wrong." Maddie attacked, and without his long blade, she was much closer. Every attack he tried, she countered.
Desperate to finish her before she succeeded at chopping his hands off, the assassin switched from a double, forehanded hold to a single, backhanded grip. Maddie scoffed, "Really?"
The assassin parroted her words from earlier, "Come on, dazzle me!"
Maddie rushed forward, but so did the assassin. At first, Maddie fell back, surprised by the efficiency of his attacks, but that didn't last. The green goggled assailant was predictable, so Maddie lunged into the opening he created. Her machete hack down into the assassin's skull as pain exploded in her side. With great effort, Maddie crunched her machete out of the assassin's head, glared into his goggles, and embedded her machete in his neck. She hacked at it again; again; and again until it fell free from his corpse, then she finally looked down.
The hilt of the katana protruded from her left side just below her ribs. Maddie left it in, it was the only thing stopping her from bleeding out. Her finger limply gripped the machete, her hand afire with pain from the protracted duel, as she stumbled towards the exit.
Maddie pressed her left hand to her ear, "Jack, can you hear me?"
"You betcha, Baby! Where's the ghost? Did you get it? Are you alright?"
She gritted her teeth against the pain in her side, "The 'ghost' is dealt with, Jack. When I'm out, I want you blow up the building."
"But why? If you got the ghost..."
"There will be more if we don't, Jack. Just trust me."
"Will do, roger, see you soon, over, Baby!"
Maddie pushed the warehouse door open with her full weight, then squared her shoulders as much as possible, and walked towards Jack, who was standing outside the GAV.
----------------
Jack took in the sight of his wife walking towards him. The left side of her suit from the waist down was covered in her blood, she had a sword sticking out of her side, her suit was torn in various places, her right goggle was cracked, she had an incredibly dented, bloody machete in her right hand, but she was alive. Jack reached inside the GAV and pressed the red button.
The warehouse exploded behind Maddie, who didn't even flinch as it burst into a million pieces. The dust cloud from the concussive wave billowed around her torn, wounded figure.
Finally, she reached him, "Let's go home, Jack."
Jack tenderly wrapped his arms around his wife and kissed her, "There's a sword sticking out of you, baby. Let's deal with that, and *then* go home."
Maddie dazedly smiled at him, "Okay."
---------------
The sun had risen while they were tending to Maddie's wounds. Jack glanced over at Maddie in the passenger seat, holding their new baby, "Do you think ghosts will come after him again, Mads?"
Maddie hummed and her brow knitted with worry, "I don't know, Jack, but we'd better be prepared. No ghosts are going to take our son from us."
"What should we name him? Davey?"
"No," she looked into the baby's eyes, "Danny. Danny Fenton," the baby giggled, "I think he likes it, Jack."
Jack grumbled, "Fine, but it's still a silly name."
--------------
Talia al'Ghul, daughter of the Demon Head, member of the League of Shadows, screamed in heartbroken, incandescent rage at the ruins of the warehouse, "WHERE IS HE!? WHERE IS MY BABY!?"
"It's for you," the assassin nearest her handed her a communicator.
Talia looked into the communicator, "What is it, Father?"
The aged visage of her father glared back at her, "The child is lost, either to the inferno or our enemies, and there is nothing to be done at this time. Your son will not have survived in any regard. Return to base immediately, Wayne has become difficult during your absence, and I need you to control him." Right, Bruce Wayne, her beloved, the father of the lost child she wasn't permitted to tell him she was pregnant with in the first place. Now she had to return without their child. "Do not tell him of what has transpired here, it will not help."

Just an idea I wanted to share.
Danny and Damian are clearly not brothers. What they are, is switched at birth.
Talia messed up, took a mission too close to her due date, and went into labor early so she wound up in a civilian hospital. The Fentons were researching nearby ruins for ghost history when Maddie went into labor.
Two nearly identical black haired little boys born to foreigners in a small hospital in the middle of nowhere. Mistakes happen, and the babies were switched.
The truth doesn't come to light until Damian shows up at Bruce's place when he's 13, nearly 14. (Canon timeline is full of wibbly wobbly stuff.) Of course, he cares for the boy immediately, but also does a DNA test assuming Talia is lying. Clearly Talia is lying because the results show Damian is neither Bruce's nor Talia's.
Damian nearly has a breakdown and together he and Bruce track Talia back down for answers, but she's as confused as they are. She carried this baby and Bruce was, not her first lover, but definitely the last. What do you mean the DNA doesn't match?
As Talia, Bruce, and Damian begin their search for answers, in a small town in Illinois, an eerily similar looking boy, who was routinely exposed to the Lazarus Pits in vitro and has since been routinely exposed to ectoplasm, is stepping into a failed portal on the dare of his friends.
fascinating. Damian 100% breaks down after the DNA test. When he was first introduced to Bruce he was absolutely obsessed and taught by the League that he must fill in his fathers legacy. Blood relations are VERY important to the Al Ghuls. Damian figuring out he's not the rightful heir would crush him.
Damian is fully devoted to the mission of finding Danny. Does he want to battle him for the true title of the heir to the League of Assassins? Or does he try to convince Danny to take his place?

The True Heir
Okay, if you watch to catch up to this AU, (Which I am writing a story for), look at this link and look back at it's many reblogs. LINK.
The main jest, Jack Fenton is the supposed dead son of Ra al Ghul. He, with the help of his love, Maddie, faked his death and ran away from the LOA. The two went to university and continued on with their lives studying the Occult and raising their kids. Away from the LOA of course.
Jack always made his clothing with extra weight to ensure his steps are always heard, and dub him, a bumbling fool to many. He does get a kick out of it whenever his kids groan in annoyance or look at him fondly, being proud that he's their dad.
He and Maddie have taught their children self-defense and how to take care of themselves. In the possible event that their past will come back to haunt them. When they found out that Danny became Phantom, his fighting style (@hdgnj, heheheh) was a dead gave away. They didn't say anything. They wanted their kids to come clean with them.
Jack started to create weapons and items he hopes will help his kids and their friends in their adventures. The Booo-merang was created with the intention of always finding Danny if... something were to happen.
Move forward a bit...
The family and team Phantom are in Gotham for a Ghost Convention. Talia see's Danny and has a flashback to her supposedly dead brother... Talia found out that her brother is alive.
The true heir of the League of Assassins.
That's where things get interesting for one Damian Wayne. If Jack is the true heir.... what does that make him? Who will take over if Jack is well... indisposed? Does he even have heirs?
Here comes one Jasmine Fenton... Oh, a seemingly normal looking human right? Right? No.... no, no, no....
If there is someone that all ghosts fears, the Ghost King's sister and the one that promised to always look after him. The Flaming Knight, the protector of one, Ghost King Danny Phantom.
Even if one manages to get past Jazz, they have the Ghost King to deal with...
Jazz Fenton is the true heir. Just don't mention this to Dan or Danni, the two are extremely protective of her.

The idea of Damian and Danny being brothers (most of the time twins) is used a lot but what if they were god siblings (Danny is still older than Damian).
-Talia al ghul and Maddie Fenton who are friends that made each other god mothers to their children. Maybe Thalia would drop off Damian at the Fenton's for a while and the same with Maddie dropping off Jazz and Danny.
-The Fenton Parents not knowing about Talia being in the League of Assassins (because if they don't realize anything about Vlad how would they know about Talia)
-The shanigains of being around the crazy ghost scientists Fenton House and the bizarreness of the League of Assassins. The Batfamily would be comparatively more normal because of Damian's previous experience
-One of the reasons but not the whole reason that Damian is a vegan is because of the food coming alive/possessed when he was visiting the Fentons (this coming up randomly in a conversation with of the Batfam members)
-Batfam doesn't know about the Fenton's, but Damian thought Bruce knew about the Fenton's being his godparents
-Damian talking about his knowledge of Ghosts and the Batfam thinking it came from LoA
-Damian thinking Jason is a ghost
-Damian knows about Danny (maybe its been a few years since Danny became Phantom and the Ghost King) and has his number just in case for ghost related stuff/emergencies
-Que a scene where the Justice League needs to summon the Ghost King and for what ever reason Constantine/Zatarara/any magic member can't summon him. Damian as Robin finds out who they are trying to reach, pulls out a phone/ talisman or what ever and get ahold of Danny. This is when Bruce finds out Damian has a god brother and about his god family. Enter the Fenton family who have been missing their god son/brother.
This is an amazing idea, thank you
I think the Batfam gets confused by all the stuff Damian casually talks about, thinking that it all happened at the LOA, I also like the idea that Damian picks up some of the fentons worst traits,
smashes through walls when on patrol not thinking anything of it? The Batfam thinks the LOA raised him not to care about collateral damage.
He knows how to reverse engineer a villains weapons? Well an assassin needs to be able to adapt to any situation
He mentions getting attacked by sentient food as a child? Well they do have a history of experimentation
What if instead of a big reveal it happens at dinner when Damian tells his family he wants to visit his god siblings.
I can only imagine how the Batfam would react to the logic-defying chaos that is the fentons, if this goes on after a reveal-gone-right there's just this incredibly strong meta, there with the fentons

Demon Twins, but Danny has no idea about Bruce's secret life.
Bruce learns he has a second sons who were raised away from the league. Damian's foster/adopted parents, Dr. Fenton's.
In the Car to Amity Park
Bruce:" Damian, does your brother know about our secret life?"
Damian:" No. He has no idea about anything. He is supposed to take care of Grandfather's legal work."
Jason:" And what does he think Bruce is?"
Damian:" Well... What grandfather told him?"
Dick:" And what did Ra tell him?"
Damian snorted something you don't see him doing:" That father is a pervert who seduced his poor mother and left her behind as she didn't behave like he wanted."
Bruce:" What?"
His children all wanted to laugh, and Jason was laughing.
Damian:"Well, you saw how you behaved, right? And you tried to change, mother."
Bruce once regrets his Brucie personality:" She is an assassin!"
In Amity Park
Damian was just hugged by Maddie and she looked all over him to make sure he did eat well while away. Jack just hugged the rest of the group in a massive group hug.
Maddie:" Go to Danny Damian. I am sure he and rest want to spend time with you. I bet Sam wants to talk to you too. "
As Damian left
Maddie:" So you are the one who made poor Tals cry all the 9 months. "
Bruce already can see this won't go well.

So, I wrote the thing. I don't know if you'll like, but I sure hope you do. The only warning I think I should give is about the pairing, because it's heavily implied (a little more than that, actually) that it's Val x Wes x Sam x Tucker x Danny, (I have no idea what's the name of this ship, I just love it because it sounds chaotic as heck) and Dani is their daughter. Maddie and Val are also implied to be a little unhinged.
So... I gave Wes and Val their alternative versions, and changed Dani's:
Danny Fenton --- Bruce Wayne
Samantha Manson --- Selina Kyle
Tucker Tuck --- Ethan Bennett
Valerie Gray --- Talia al Ghul
Wes Weston --- Harvey Dent
Dani Fenton --- Damian Wayne
(a secret, third thing: Clockwork is Alfred)
I hope you like it!
____________
The day Valerie decides to hunt down Danny until she could punch him in the face even if it’s the last thing she does has, surprisingly, nothing to do with his double life as Phantom, or the fact that he passed a third of her skate into the wall and she had to ask The Ghost Box to take it out so she could teach Dani how to skate.
If she’s feeling nice, she might even say it isn’t because he left the family group chat on read after saying that sometimes it is better to ask for forgiveness than permission and hasn’t been seen again in one week, but.
She’s not feeling nice.
At the start of their summer holiday, two days unsupervised were enough for Danny to find a word in the stone age and get a lot of new pets when the meteor fell, filling their castle with the biggest and scariest Woolly Rhinoceros imaginable… Who he called Sweetheart.
At the end of their summer holiday, three days were enough for Danny to turn into a squirrel and start a war against the pixies, and Wes had to step in to create a democracy when the squirrel won over the fairies and Danny was almost crowned King 一 again, this time looking like he really wanted the title. Thankfully, it wasn’t in another dimension and sometimes he can come back to see how they’re doing, or Clockwork knows what he would do to protect them from other creatures.
Now, at the beginning of their winter holiday, Valerie fears what he has done in the week no one could stop his intrusive thoughts or find him, because the little shit learnt from his mistakes and took the boo-merang with him.
And that’s why she’ll hunt him down in a way Skulker wishes he could accomplish, with their three years old daughter tracking him down like a sugar-high boo-merang would.
Valerie isn't doing it because if he’s not in their dimension in three days, she is the one going with Sam to one of her parent’s boring galas as her partner to listen to their speech about how supportive they are to accept that their daughter has more than one partner, one even being a girl.
It’s also not because she and the others are worried about him, and also Tucker, who hasn't slept in days trying to help Dani find her familial ties with Danny.
So when Valerie packs her weapons and puts on her suit, she pretends she doesn’t notice that some of the guns Maddie created for her are heavier than others and wouldn't work on Ghosts, so that Sam doesn't get even more panicked.
She also pretends, when she follows Dani through the Infinity Realms, that she isn't scared for what could happen to Danny with his Fenton Luck 一 she’s the level-headed of the relationship, after all, and she has to keep her composure because the other three surely won’t.
… She's still punching him as a greeting, though.
::
Tasting the decaffeinated coffee Alfred poured for him, Tim knew that the day was going to be long.
When the front door was blasted out of its hinges by a young alternative version of Talia al Ghul screaming for her stupid boyfriend, though… That's when he knew he wouldn't know peace until his last day alive.
Seconds before the door was blasted:
Dani *turning off her invisibility after scouting the area and not seeing her Father*: Mother, they have a secret basement!
Valerie "I'm the level headed of the relationship" picking the rocket lancer that wouldn't hurt a ghost: Say less, sweetie. Also, call your Fenton grandparents, tell them Danny is involved with another billionaire :)
After Danny is back home from feeding his raccoon friends and getting dropkicked by Val:
Danny: This is my girlfriend, Talia.
Val: ???
Danny: And this is our daughter... Daniyah.
Dani: ... >:)
Damian "We never told Brucie my mother's name": I'M A GIRL??????
Dick "I have my priorities straight": I'M NOT THE OLDEST????
Alfred "I do have my priorities straight and a shotgun I'm not scared of using": I'm already a grandfather????
Clockwork "I could have stopped this any time I wanted but let the alt me have these sweet moments to remember the good ol' times": Yes, we are :)
Maddie and Jack showing up in Gotham with their Midwest smile and a lot, a lot of weapons that wouldn't hurt ghosts: ◉‿◉
Everyone withing 100m radio: Why... Why do I suddenly fear for my life... More than usual?
(I'm sending this without much proof reading because if I don't I'll ending up not sending anything, so sorry about any mistakes)
Tumblr media
I love how Val is the most level-headed but also the one who shoots a mistle at the door just because they couldn't spot Danny but saw a basement.
Like they didn't even confirm Danny was in that basement, they just went "Well it's time to say hello! *BOOM*"
Thank you for sharing this with me!

part 15 - we’re all misunderstood
"Me and all my friends, we're all misunderstood. They say we stand for nothing and there's no way we ever could." -Waiting On The World To Change by John Mayer
Masterlist Part 14
Tumblr media
The Watchtower was a marvel of engineering and fortitude, constantly in orbit above Earth among the star-studded void of space.
Just a quick glance out of the meeting hall window had proved to the Regent that her little brother would love it here. He’d inherited the innovative side of Fentonworks more than she, so the combination of one of his obsessions and tech to fiddle with was a dream come true.
(She’d inherited the ruthlessness of Maddie Fenton.)
Batman, the Dark Knight her little brother had trusted and the father of her soulmate, tapped away at a tablet in hand before turning his focus to her at ease form, hands clasped behind her back. Wonder Woman stood at her side and Superman at the other. A flanking maneuver it seemed.
The Regent would’ve been offended if they didn’t consider her a threat, despite her willingness to discuss war prevention between the Infinite Realms and the Living Realm. Her armor alone was meant to be intimidating at first appearance, but it was the woman sealed into it that gave off the vibes of ‘Approach with caution’. She was a Warrior, not a pacifist, and everything she presented about herself was meant to signify that.
However, the Regent was trained by the Ancient of Peace and would demand a peaceful resolution to a crisis rather than conflict, even if the Liminal had no desire for a battle against the Justice League.
Constantine was a familiar presence in the room. The Laughing Magician had a soft spot for her little brother, but she felt the claim she had of his soul. It was cracked and missing so many pieces, but it was still a good one. The Sad Trenchcoat Man might’ve been a career drunk and conman, but that didn’t mean he was unnecessarily bad.
He wouldn’t be here if he was.
The man in question spoke first, much to the obvious surprise of those present, “How’s Phantom?”
Her helmet turned to face him down where he sat a few feet away, an unopened flask resting on his thigh, “He is fine. Would you like me to pass on a message?”
Constantine seemed to relax for a moment before shaking his head, “Nah, the kid bugs me enough.”
“Regent.” Batman interrupted. “We would appreciate it if you could answer some questions we have regarding some disturbing files we received from Phantom.”
The Liminal nodded, “I suspected as much. I cannot speak much on behalf of the King or others not present, but I will answer what I can truthfully.”
“Thank you, My Lady, for your willingness to discuss such things with us.” Wonder Woman offered with sincerity in her words.
The Regent shook her helmeted head, “I’d rather peace than be across from one another on the battlefield, Princess.”
“Wisely so.”
The Knight tapped on his tablet again, a projection of one of the Ghost Files documents spreading across the wall behind the Bat, the man in question returning his attention to her.
“Why does the King require a Regent?”
Tumblr media
If Bruce was being honest, which he was, he’d rather be anywhere else than here in the Watchtower about to helm peace talks between the Infinite Realms and Earth. He’d rather be eating dinner with his children, questioning Phantom about Jason’s whereabouts, or even on patrol- anywhere but here.
It wasn’t even the presence of the armored woman who’d answered in place of the King Constantine had been asked to summon, rather Bruce wanted nothing to do with the Death Energy he felt in lapses radiating from the Regent that felt… cleaner than that of what Ra’s Al Ghul or Talia had.
Bruce wanted answers.
But he also wanted to be anywhere but here.
He supposed it was his self-preservation instincts trying to get him away from the being that’s been summoned, he had no choice but to stay though.
“The King is too young.” The Regent replied evenly, hands clasped in front of her stomach, much like Diana would when trying to demonstrate that she’s prepared to draw her sword at a given moment. “There is still much for him to learn and experience before he is ready for the Crown.”
Batman hummed, even though Constantine spluttered in shock- “A kid defeated Pariah Dark in single combat?”
“Yes.”
“There are some questions that we would like to have recorded for the record, would you be amenable to this?” Batman interrupts, “We would also discuss public use.”
Regent nods, helmet tinting a darker green as the Watchtower lights slant across it for a brief moment. “I accept, though there are some answers that are not mine to give.” The woman takes a breath, “I cannot give the identity of the King without his permission, nor can I discuss how or when he died.”
“Is there a particular reason why?” Superman asks. “It is considered taboo to ask a ghost anything related to their death because it can cause them to relieve it.” A pause, “Ghosts, or Ecto-Entites, are a fighting-based culture. They are beings of varying intelligence, thoughts, and emotions- sentient and sapient, much like humans and aliens. Capable of great things, both good and evil.”
Bruce processed those words, a pit of horror forming in his chest. How many times has this woman said those exact words, hoping for them to be heard? They were eloquent, with the formality that hinted at diplomatic training, but with so much hope that it almost physically hurt.
Capable of great things, both good and evil.
Wasn’t that the choice Bruce made every time he put on the cowl? Anytime one of his kids got hurt and he felt such rage in his bones? He made the choice every day to do good and while it may not be great in the broader scale of things, it was to somebody somewhere. That was what it meant to be alive, to have free will, to exist.
Now he finally understood why Phantom gave him the Ghost Files.
He needed this. This confrontation of what it means to exist outside of Bats and Birds, the cowl and the mask, as a being. Would Bruce have listened had he not seen the Files? If he hadn’t seen the inhumanity committed upon the inhuman? What evil would he have perpetuated had he refused to listen?
(Tim might think he had been the only one to watch the video of Danny Fenton’s death.)
(He was wrong.)(What if he hadn’t heard the wail?)(What if he hadn’t seen the rebirth of Fenton to Phantom?)
Tumblr media
With all the bloodshed the GIW had on their collective hands, they would not go quietly.
The Regent had emphasized their zealot tendencies, hypocritical ideology perpetuated by the Drs. Fentons and somewhat lackluster training, but exceedingly advanced technology geared explicitly towards Ecto-Entities in her testimony to the Justice League in the hours that followed. Several examples from the Ghost Files were explained and expanded on, including the destruction of the Casper High Gym which resulted in the death of a faculty member and the maiming of a student. Evidence of the town roads being utterly demolished, what looks like the aftermath of war being the norm for the citizens as they try to go about their daily lives.
She had prepared to discuss all the above, and gone through various questions she’d been expecting from the League, but she had steadfastly avoided thoughts of the GIW’s unethical experimentation. Naturally, the League began this particular section with the Files’ opened to what Danny, Tucker, and Sam had included, a warning issued to all present that what they were about to watch was grotesque and to leave the room if they felt unable to hold the contents of their stomachs.
The Regent was an older sister, a daughter, a leader, and a warrior- but she was still only able to take so much. (She hadn’t known the Fentons recorded Danny’s Phantom’s vivisection.)
(She hadn’t known they called each other sweetie and fudge-kins while digging in his chest cavity.)
Fury was a familiar enemy and friend in equal breaths, existing in the space between her ribs and her heart, trapped by a cage of bone and will.
Fury echoed by her mirror image that entered the camera frame, sword first and merciless as she gutted Jack Fenton.
(Regret was nowhere to be found.)(Shame had no place here.)
“By Realms Law 2127 subsection 32f paragraph 3: liminals, mortals, all in between may be promptly judged and or executed on grounds of threat to End a protector spirit or child. May also be decreed as battlefield law when faced with a sufficiently armed opponent and or external force.” The Regent recited monotonously. “Drs. Fenton also could have been tried for Invasion by opening the portal, but Phantom was able to give them a pardon.”
“On what grounds?” Wonder Woman questioned, “He is a protector spirit, yes?”
“Yes, which allowed the previous Law to be enacted and legal. By him acting within Amity Park and using Fenton tech to catch Ghosts, he gave them a pardon by an unspoken alliance.”
“An alliance they broke,” Batman this time was clearly angry too in his clenched fists were any indication, “when they vivisected Phantom.”
“Yes.” The Regent continued, “Make no mistake, I uphold the Realms Law to the best of my abilities and expect my subjects and my council to do the same. We are a people and people have societies, societies have structures and without that, we would be no better than what the GIW claims us to be.”
“Well spoken, My Lady.” Wonder Woman complemented, clearly taken by the Regent’s speech.
“This is all gory and horrifying, but we still haven’t talked about preventing a bloody war.”
While he’d been quietly observing the meeting, minor mutterings here and there, Constantine remained the only Dark member present. The Regent was somewhat fond of the Sad Man, even without having ownership over his soul (or the majority of shards) he would remain a fond memory for the Nightingales.
“My Lady,” the Magician belatedly addressed her, clearly having recalled to whom exactly he was speaking.
“Constantine,” Batman warned, “we’ll get to that.”
“Indeed we shall. In fact,” the Regent twirled a hand in a graceful motion “the Anti-Acto Acts is the main point of contention on the docket and allows that,” now she thrust a pointed finger at the Files’ section on ‘experimentation’, “to be legal.”
“It’s been discussed, previously, to bring these laws before the UN with a censored version of the Ghost Files.”
The Regent nodded almost immediately, “If you can, yes, but I would recommend leaking some of the data for the public to judge.”
“Amity Park, for instance?” Superman asked, “Let the public choose a side and put pressure on the UN.”
“Perhaps.” WW nodded, “Though there is likely chance that blame will be shifted onto the Ghosts solely for the damage.”
“We can show the footage of the attacks that caused them.” Batman interjected, “As well as the videos of Phantom protecting Amity’s citizens at risk to himself.”
The Regent agreed, “There are also videos of teenagers practicing drills for Ghost and Ghost Hunter attacks.”
“What about sitting for an interview for a newspaper?” Superman suggested, “I can get a reputable reporter to conduct it.”
“That can be done.”
The Regent felt a slight tug on her Proto-Core, a shiver down her spine to follow- her little brother was trying to summon her back to him. Nothing urgent, not with just a slight tug, not an emergency.
It had been quite a while here anyway and she missed her boys.
“I’m afraid I am being summoned for a council meeting.” The Regent announced, “If I am needed again-“
She took a breath before turning to Batman, “You May summon me, Dark Knight, through your Lady’s Claim.”
A friendly handshake with Superman, “Have your reporter meet me in the Ridge next Friday during the Witching Hours.”
A clasping of arms with Wonder Woman, Warrior to warrior, “When this is settled, I would ask for a spar, Princess.”
And the Regent was gone in a torrent of icy green-tinted mist.

A/N:
Happy new year!
I can't believe it's 2024 already! Feels like I just got used to writing 2023.
As always, thanks to the wonderful beta @meditating-cat, who also let me who use them as a sounding board for ideas for the Regent earlier. I cannot wait to write those ideas, let me tell you.
As always, if you have any song suggestions please feel free to share and check out the masterlist for the rest of the series. It's always updated afterwards!

So I've seen DPxDC stories where Danny is Damian's twin brother or just full blood sibling in general and not biologically a Fenton at all, where he's Bruce and Maddie's son, Talia and Jack's son, stories where he's either Bruce or Talia's kid with some other random person and was adopted by the Fentons.
Stories where either Jack or Maddie is Ra's kid and Danny (and Jazz) are thus Damian's maternal first cousins.
I've even seen a few stories where Danny was just literally Ra's son, either by blood or by adoption.
I know of one specific post where Danny is Dusan's son and Mara's older brother, but that's it.
I have yet to see a single prompt where either of Danny's parents are descended of either Dusan or Nyssa even though both of them are far more than old enough to be grandparents.
Hell, Dusan is calculated to be around 750 years old by some people, while Nyssa canonically had her bloodline wiped out by the Nazis, a bloodline that included a great grandson and she has a confirmed birth year of 1775 (so she'd be nearly 250 years old in modern day).
So the idea of Damian's first cousin being an adult pushing 50 with kids older than Damian himself would be completely logical (if you go ahead of sticking the show aged DP characters into the 2020s).
Though to be honest if we go this route I'd pick different Fenton Parents and generational displacement from Ra's depending on which of Ra's kids Danny and Jazz are descended from.
If they're descended from Dusan, then I'd pick Jack as being his son, and Mara's older half brother, who is older than her by like 46 years.
The Fenton's are actually aware of their connection to a quasi-immortal assassin, but Jack and Maddie do their best to keep their kids out of that life.
Which Dusan isn't supper accepting about. But he also only discovered Jack when he was already an adult, and if he wants to be invited to his grandkid's birthdays and be allowed to drop Mara off at the Fenton house to be watched he just kind of has to accept that his son and grandchildren aren't interested in the Al Ghul legacy.
While if it's Maddie who's descended from the Al Ghul bloodline, then I'd want her and Alicia to be descended from Nyssa's line, specifically Vasily Vasilevich, Nyssa's great grandson.
Nyssa thinks he's killed by the Nazi's like the rest of her descendants but because he's an infant someone actually manages to smuggle him away before he actually enters any camp. He eventually ends up smuggled all the way to the United States, where he's given a new name, and raised as an American by the family that took him as their own while fleeing from the Nazi's and smuggled him to the state's in the first place.
So Maddie and Alicia are both Nyssa's great great granddaughters, while Danny, Jazz, and Dani are Nyssa's great great great grandchildren. The Fenton's (and Walkers if we go ahead with making that Maddie and Alicia's maiden names), have no idea that they're descended from a weird eco terrorist assassin cult...
Until Jazz insists on the family doing one of those at home dna tests after Maddie casually dropped family lore about how her dad wasn't the biological child of her grandparents, and that they'd ended up taking him in when fleeing Europe from Nazi persecution, and no one knew who his birth parents were or if any of his biological family survived or not. Or even the name his biological parents gave him.
Jazz just thinks this is going to be a fun family history project where nothing weird will happen, unbeknownst to her Tim Drake has created backdoor access to every single one of those at home dna testing databases he can find, specifically looking for hits on the Al Ghul family tree.
That man might be old as fucking dirt, but Talia's existence (and backstory of being conceived at Woodstock with a random hippy lady) is proof that Ra's is more likely than not still producing swimmers and going around banging random women much to Tim's horror.
And Tim wants to know if any oopsie Al Ghuls pop out of the woodwork before Ra's does, at the very least to try and prevent any more from getting indoctrinated into the League of Assassins.
I just feel like either one of these would really hammer home that Ra's line really is comprised of largely unaging immortals (if they have access to a Lazarus pit and want to), who's outer age doesn't really reflect their actual age at all.
WIth Mara and Jack being half siblings but also like 40+ years apart in age, or Maddie being Nyssa's great great granddaughter but looking basically the same age.
Because DC's never really pushes that when it comes to Ra's. Sure all of his kids are adults, but all of them are also seem to be frozen between the ages of like 30 to 50 years old, with Ra's himself looking around 70-ish, and then all of his grandkids (who we get to see) are literal children.
So if you were to take a family picture of Ra's and the descendants (who matter and) we get to see in the comics, it would just look like a normal family portrait or family tree. The grandparent looks 20-30 years older then the Parents/Aunt/Uncle generation, who looks 20-30 years older than the child generation.
Like I just feel there should be more family line fuckery going on with the Al Ghul family than there is in canon.
Or hell you could make Jack or Maddie Talia's kid if you go with the really old canon of Talia also actually being a lot older but using the Lazarus Pits to stay physically young. I think she's like 150 in that continuity but using the pits to stay in her 30s or so.
Then you could just have Jazz or Danny show up and Damian introduce them to the Batfam as his niece and nephew, played best with Damian being around ten, but Danny and Jazz in their late teens or even early 20s.

Jasmine Al Ghul
A while ago the perfect assassin was born, she was Talia's daughter but Ra didn't like the rebellious look in her eyes, they were claiming for destruction and he knew that she would do nothing but destroy the League as soon as she could.
So he rejected her as the heir, something Jazz grew to resent. When the twins Danyal and Damian were born, one was clearly weaker than the other, considering that he was born without breathing and was only saved at the last second.
This made Ra make his decision: Damian would be the heir and Danyal his shadow. But Danyal wasn't interested in killing, no matter how much he was punished for refusing, he wanted to see, to explore, to learn. Everyone could see it.
Because Damian was spending more time on heir training, Jazz devoted herself to taking care of Danyal. She tried to teach him but the boy kept refusing, failing over and over again in the most simply things, Jazz hated him.
Until she stopped hating and became fond of him, feeling a kinship because of their grandfather's rejection. Danny taught Jazz things she had never considered (love, stars, a new interest far away from training, find the meaning of life simply by living) and she made her decision: she would save the boy.
Jazz escaped with Maddie Fenton (one of Talia's students) seeing she wantes to save them too and could pass as their mother, she took Danny with her. She couldn't leave him in that place, she wouldn't forgive herself.
Of course, Damian grew to resent his younger twin for taking their sister away. Blaming him for being weak, why did Jazz leave him behind? He could be a good little brother too, he was better than Danyal! In everything!
