what is with this guy whipping out a random Hatsune Miku cross dress on us all bc apparently it would be too suspicious for Mayumi undercover as a guy walking around without a girlfriend on his arm bc she turns out to be such a good looking guy so this dude decided to dress as Hatsune and pretend to be her fake girlfriend out of nowhere
(Mayumi before and after)

Reluctant Reader Wednesday: Pretty Boy Detective Club Vol 1 by NISIOISIN and Suzuka Oda
Mayumi has a very unique problem, so she goes to a very unique group of boys to help her solve it. Ten years ago, Mayumi saw a very unusual star, and she’s been trying to find it ever since. A group of boys at the Yubiwa Academy called the Pretty Boy Detective Club decides to take the case, and their investigation turns up information that none of them expected to find. This investigation provides one layer of the story, but the other layers are filled with lots of humor and mayhem, and plenty of ideas about gender expectations and standards of beauty.
Give this manga to teens who enjoy manga that is funny, quirky, and weird but also action-packed!

Okay, I can't help myself but login to FGO.
In my defense, it's been a stressful week and I needed something to break it.
Already played this event last year, though my favourite moment - is the shippable moment between Paisen x Nagiko and of course, my OTP, Okita x Nobunaga.
The dialogues were pretty funny, I always like their bickering.
Bonus: Paisen x Nagiko
Honestly, even without shipping - their dynamics were really great.

Shenanigans in the Grand Order, part 399
Yu gets to literally fight herself.
I think it's too late for that.
Hurray! :D
They're talking about Romulus-Quirinus 👀
I'm honestly more surprised that it's not over 100%.
😆
I can't believe that they harmonized.
Annnnnnnnd immediately vetoed! 😅
Damn that was quick.

I love how the episode of Octavinelle lets Leona make expressive and ugly faces; Savanaclaw seemed to say he was to pretty to make appropriately unhinged expressions for a dude who’s overblotting
Here are two images of Leona to illustrate what Anon is referring to! I've also included examples featuring Azul.
The left images come from the Episode of Octavinelle, which is illustrated by Kowono Sumire. The right images are from the Episode of Savanaclaw, which is illustrated by Suzuka Oda. As you can see, each mangaka has their own unique way of drawing and presenting the TWST characters (and, in this case, Leona and Azul).
I've seen similar comments floating around about the expressions in the Episode of Savanaclaw; the characters, and Leona in particular, don't seem to have as wide of a range as the other Episodes. There seems to be more of a focus on keeping the characters pretty and "same faced", for lack of a better term, rather than experimenting with a variety of exaggerated emotions. When you consider the background of the two mangaka working on Savanaclaw and Octavinelle, this observation makes more sense.
Kowono-san, who has worked on Heartslabyul and Octavinelle, is one of Yana's assistants. She therefore has more experience with more... creative, shall we say, expressions, even if some come off as unattractive. She didn't have to make Azul this unhinged when having a contract signed, she just decided to make it like that. She didn't have to show Leona's full displeasure like that. But Yana and her team have never been shy about making ugly faces so long as it conveys the desired feeling or conveys the right character.
Meanwhile, Suzuka-san's previous manga, Pretty Boy Detective Club, is more of your traditional manga (if we're just strictly talking about the faces they make) with, of course, tons of pretty boys. It follows that Suzuka-san's style, then, makes the boys look flattering no matter how they may be feeling. That's very clear in the love and care she puts into drawing everyone's flowing hair and long lashes!!
There's nothing wrong with the Episode of Savanaclaw's style in a vacuum. Suzuka Oda definitely has her own strengths and creates beautiful artwork, I'd just say it isn't always "fitting" for certain scenes (especially TWST's angsty or super emotional ones).
