A little something something from the Yellowjackets AU:
“Hey,” Eddie said once they were done sipping on their soup, the mugs discarded on the ground, “You can’t spiral, Buck, we’re gonna get out of here.”
Buck shook his head, “How are you so calm? You have so much to lose and you wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for me.”
Eddie sighed and shook his head, “I’ll always fight to go back to my family, Buck, I will fight to go back to Chris, and I will take you with me, kicking and screaming, if I need to.”
Buck turned to look at him, Eddie was writing down things on a notebook, a field journal entry from what he could see, “What are you writing?” Buck asked him instead of replying to Eddie’s statement.
It felt too big, and Buck didn’t want them to be in the middle of the woods when he confessed to Eddie that he and Chris were all the family he needed too.
“I guess just a record of things, how we lost our minds possibly,” He joked, “It helps, to not feel disoriented, if we keep track of the days.”
Buck nodded, letting Eddie do his thing. He did move closer to him, taking advantage that everyone else was asleep and put his arm around Eddie’s shoulders.

___________
I'm excited to finish writing Chapter 26 because at the end of Chapter 25, the Diaz family had just returned to the U.S. and after they made it home, Eddie checked his voice mail and there was a message from his cousin about an attempted delivery of a SpedEx package for Buck. Buck had no idea who it was from and he worried about it all weekend into the New Year.
They attended Maddie's and Chimney's New Year's Eve party which turned out to be an engagement party for them but they told their found family they got married while they were in Italy and that Buck adopted Chris on Christmas morning. Everyone questioned them regarding why the didn't tell anyone about their nuptials but they reassured them they're going to have a vow renewal ceremony in May of 2024 so they can all celebrate with them. But they didn't tell them they put a bid on a house in Italy and they aren't planning to until they believe the time is right.
On January 2nd, Buck accepted the package from the SpedEx delivery driver and after he opened it and viewed the contents, he collapsed and became unresponsive and unconscious right after Eddie entered the room.
___________
Here's a snippet from Chapter 26 of Eddie panicking and calling emergency services.
___________
Even though Eddie doesn’t have an ECG machine in his medical bag, he knows the signs and symptoms associated with a bradycardia event and that’s exactly what he believes Buck’s experiencing.  It’s been more than a minute and a half since his eyes closed and he’s worried out of his mind. He’s been counting the seconds ever since he put the pillows underneath his head and his ankles and he’s still counting but now he’s reached two minutes and Buck's entering the danger zone and he needs to get help fast.
For a brief moment, he considers lifting him up, carrying him to the truck and driving to the hospital but he knows that’s his heart talking instead of his rational mind which is filled with LAFD protocols and his paramedic training.
He doesn’t have any of the necessary equipment needed to revive him and if his husband dies on his watch, he’ll die too and that’s not an option.  He's already lost one spouse and Chris has lost one parent and him and Buck promised each other they're going to die on the same day at the same time 50 or 60 years from now, so he has to act quickly. Instead of continuing his mental debate about if he should call emergency services or drive Buck himself, he removes his phone from his pocket, dials 9-1-1 and waits for what seems like an eternity.
“9-1-1, what’s your emergency?”
“Yes I’m at 4995 S. Bedford St. and I have an adult male, 31 years of age whose unconscious and unresponsive and I need medical response.”
“Ok sir, can I get your name?”
“Eddie Diaz!  I’m a firefighter and a paramedic with the 118.”
“Eddie!”  Linda asks.
“Yes!  Linda, I’m so glad it’s you.”  He heaves past the sob lodged in the back of his throat that feels like a ping pong ball and continues.  “Listen, it’s Buck… SHIT!”  He stops talking because he remembers he's supposed to follow protocol for her recording and he tries again.  “I mean you need his first and last name for the call.  It’s my husband Evan Diaz and he’s also a firefighter with the—the 118.”
“Ok Eddie, I’m checking to see which RA unit is the closest to that address but can you tell me what happened?”
“I—I came into the living room; he was swaying back and forth and I caught him before he—he hit the floor.  I manually checked his vitals by doing the ABC method… I opened his airway, checked his breathing along with his circulation then I—I grabbed my medical bag and I checked his pulse, his blood pressure and his heart rate but all of them are still low which is why I believe he might be having a bradycardia event.  Linda… oh my god, whatever is happening to him is more serious than a syncope event because he’s still unresponsive.”
“Can you tell me how long he’s been down?”
“It’s been more than two minutes but I didn’t start counting until after I caught him.”
“Ok, Eddie, our closest unit is about 6 minutes away.”
He frowns and loudly asks, “Six minutes?  Why?!  I’m sorry please—please forgive me for being loud but I... I—I’m asking because there’s a firehouse less than 4 minutes from here.”  He feels like he’s about to jump out of his skin because the proximity of their home to the closest fire station in this area is one of the reasons he decided to purchase it.  He wanted to be close to one for Chris just in case they ever have to call.
“You’re right Eddie there is but they’re returning to their station from a call and they’re caught in a backup on the I-110 and…”
He interrupts her.  “Linda, I—I can’t wait any longer so… I’m going to pick him up and drive him to the hospital myself…”
“Eddie?!”
He keeps talking and he thinks he can hear Sue talking in the background too but in this moment, he needs to get his husband the help he needs.  He says, “Linda, I need to…”
“EDDIE!”  She calls his name again but louder this time because she needs to get his attention.
The panic he feels is threatening to escape his lungs and he wants to scream but he swallows it again and responds, “Yeah?”
“Eddie, listen to me.  I know it’s hard but I need you to remain calm.  Are you listening?”
Eddie’s practically hysterical but what is he going to do next? 🥹
Will he listen to Linda and follow protocol or will he pick Buck up and carry him to the hospital himself? 🤷🏽‍♀️
___________
This is an EPIC LOVE STORY!
Fic Summary: Months after Buck and Eddie were hit by the same lightning strike; they’re still struggling with the aftermath of it.  But before they make their love confessions, they’ll spend time getting to know themselves as individuals first. Eddie learns to enjoy the simple things in life as he participates in activities on his own and with new friends while Buck learns the rest of the 31-year-old deep dark family secret about his conception and birth. Their journey to forever is still a work in progress but once they finally admit they’re in love with each other, everything that follows their love confessions will be cataclysmic.
__________
Chapter Summaries
Chapter 1 - Eddie makes a new friend while Buck receives devastating news regarding the sperm donation he made for Connor and Kameron.
Chapter 2 - Buck does a lot of research to learn more about the abnormalities found in his red blood cells and Eddie starts a new therapy journey that’s all about him and not the traumas he’s experienced.
Chapter 3 - After more than a month, Buck and Eddie finally spend time together outside of work but it doesn’t end well and they part with a lot of uncertainty regarding their places in each other’s lives.
Chapter 4 - Eddie has a few realizations about his life which causes him to consider moving back to El Paso, TX while Buck continues to be reminded of his past which causes him to take an impromptu road trip across America.
Chapter 5 - Both Buck and Eddie have difficult conversations with their parents and Buck finally learns the truth behind the reason why his mother despised him while Eddie finally tells his mother about the way she tries to control him.
Chapter 6 - More than two weeks after Buck pushed Eddie away after suggesting they needed a break; Eddie decides to try again. Eddie’s there for Buck when he’s at his worst just like Buck was there for him when he was at his worst and he won’t let Buck give up.
Chapter 7 - After Buck’s mental breakdown, Eddie has his back the same way Buck had his when he had his own breakdown more than a year ago.  They share several vulnerable and emotionally intimate moments with one another and they begin to realize their small, sweet and caring gestures matter just as much if not more than any grand gesture ever could because these are the foundations of a long-lasting love relationship.
Chapter 8 - Buck, Eddie and Chris all have their own therapists and during their sessions, they reflect on their pasts while they’re in the present so they can prepare for their future together as a family.
Chapter 9 - Buck and Eddie are there for each other when Buck has to testify as a witness during the trial.  But by the end of it, they’ll both realize their individual and shared traumas are going to keep resurfacing until they talk about them, deal with the fact that they’re in love with one another and face the fact that they can’t live without each other.
Chapter 10 - As Buck and Eddie finally begin to confront their past traumas, they realize how much they need each other to fill in the gaps of their memories.  Additionally, the universe screams at them for what appears to be the one hundredth time so Buck can realize he doesn’t have to ‘find it’ because he already ‘made it’ and Eddie’s reminded tomorrow isn’t promised and he doesn’t have to die alone if he doesn’t want to.
Chapter 11 - A “virga” or dry thunderstorm is in the forecast but once the rain starts, the thunderstorm happening outside won’t be able to match the storm brewing inside between Buck and Eddie.  It’s the universe’s final scream and when the tumultuous winds begin to blow, they’ll have one last chance to hold onto everything they’ve built over the last six years or they’ll lose it all forever.
Chapter 12 - Buck and Eddie have always shared a deep physical attraction and an emotional intimacy that’s unmatched but now that they’re in a relationship, they’re learning how to navigate the romantic intimacy they’ve been waiting for six years to explore. The love they have for each other is a once in a lifetime, soulmate, love of their lives type of love that transcends space and time.
Chapter 13 - While navigating the newness of their romantic relationship, Buck and Eddie take advantage of every moment they spend together. As their individual lives, people from their pasts, time constraints and the possibility of losing each other again make attempts to interrupt and interfere with their journey to forever, they love, care for, support and hold onto each other even tighter to withstand it all.
Chapter 14 - Buck and Eddie can see the lights at the end of the tunnels regarding the results of Buck’s Cancer Screening along with everything else they’re dealing with. But are the lights they see exits to the tunnels or are they headlights on different runaway trains that are speeding towards them in an effort to interrupt their forever?
Chapter 15 - Buck and Eddie have known they were exactly who the other one wanted in a partner since they met six years ago when they agreed to have each other’s backs. They’re in a romantic relationship, they’re both preparing to ask the other one to spend forever with them and by the end of the seventh week into their relationship, together they will plan their most important and greatest adventure for their future.
Chapter 16 - As Buck and Eddie begin to prepare for their marriage ceremony that will take place in Rome, Italy in December 2023, they start planning their first international adventure as a romantic couple. Even though Chris is still the only person they’ve told about their relationship, several people who know them have already witnessed the love they share and as the days continue, others will witness it too.
Chapter 17 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to departing Los Angeles for their international adventure, a moment in time will remind them; life is fragile, tomorrow isn’t promised and every second of everyday should be cherished because everything can change in an instant. The result of that realization will cause them to hold onto each other even more.
Chapter 18 - As Buck, Eddie and Chris prepare for family gatherings before and during the Thanksgiving holiday, the “Santa Ana Winds” start to blow and all sorts of expected and unexpected familial drama ensues.
Chapter 19 - As Buck and Eddie get closer to their wedding day, the universe begins to align everything so that some of their parent and children's relationships are strengthened while others come to an abrupt end.
Chapter 20 - With only 14 days remaining until Buck, Eddie and Chris depart Los Angeles, CA traveling to Rome, Italy, for their first family adventure, an early morning conversation about “tying up loose ends” helps Buck and Eddie realize there are still several things left unfinished on their ‘To Do’ lists. The question is will there be enough time to complete all of them?
Chapter 21 - Buck, Eddie and Chris are finalizing their ‘To Do’ Lists, double checking their itineraries and packing their suitcases in preparation for their trip to Europe so they can board their flight that departs Los Angeles, CA on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 3:25PM.
Chapter 22 - While Buck, Eddie and Chris spend the first 8 days of their European family adventure in Italy, their primary reason for going will be fulfilled as well as several others they hadn’t considered or anticipated.
Chapter 23 - As the Diaz Family continues their Italian family adventure, they’ll say, “Ciao” or hello and goodbye to a lot of things almost immediately after they become an official and legal family.
Chapter 24 - After Buck, Eddie and Chris arrive in London, England on December 24th; the Diazes immediately start preparing to spend their first family Christmas together. During their stay, each of them will hear a few choice words that will be the life raft to get them home to complete their searches to be seen and to be found.
Chapter 25 - After spending more than two weeks in Europe, Eddie, Buck and Chris are back in Los Angeles and they’re getting ready to attend Maddie and Chimney’s New Year’s Eve party. During the event, they have plans to make two surprise announcements but the question is, who’s really going to be surprised, the Diaz family or their found family at the 118?

have some of the jealous eddie/oblivious buck buddie lutalia fic that won the wip poll and i finally made some progress on 🥰
“Hey, Eddie,” Buck grinned, bounding up to him with Natalia not too far behind. “How’s it going?”
Not well. Horrible. The love of my life is dating someone else. “I’m fine, Buck. How are you?”
“Good, good. You remember Natalia, right?”
“Yes.” Eddie smiled tightly. “How have you been?”
“I’ve been good,” Natalia murmured, watching Eddie with knowing eyes. Eddie stiffened. It wouldn’t do any good for Buck’s girlfriend to know of his feelings for Buck. Maybe he could talk to her, let her know that he wouldn’t interfere with their relationship or anything, just please don’t tell Buck.
Buck looked between them, sensing the charged atmosphere and his brows furrowed with confusion. Before he could say anything, however, Athena was calling him over and asking for his help. He hesitated at leaving Natalia and Eddie together because of the strange vibe but ultimately followed Athena into the kitchen.
“So,” Natalia said quietly, turning to Eddie. “You and Buck.”
“There’s nothing going on between us, if that’s what you’re asking,” Eddie said reluctantly, bitter about the fact that it was the truth. He wanted something to be going on between him and Buck, but clearly Buck didn’t feel the same way if he was here with Natalia.

[several sentences sunday; NiF fic snippet]
*bangs pots and pans* hello new fandom I am working on fic, is anyone still around in here
anyway! please have an excerpt feat. Nihuang and Jingyan having The Worst Day of Their Lives, because I sure know where to start with fic! (in my defense, has anyone in history come through that ending and immediately not started thinking how to make it better/worse/different).
this is tentatively titled flowers in dreamland weather and will eventually involve an ot3 of the obvious suspects.
Nihuang's clothes had acquired a layer of grime by the time she reached the top level of the old watchtower. There, framed in a narrow window by the amber light of dusk, was Jingyan. He still wore a plain gold hair clasp and a pair of tooled leather bracers over his sleeves. Dust spattered his robes, as if he'd got off his horse and been whisked straight into Wuying Hall. His face was set with grief that nearly made Nihuang avert her gaze. She knew mourning: her grandfather, slipped away in the clement hours of the night. A tiny, delicate sister, cradled in her father's palms as her mother wailed at her loss. The men in her father's troops, taken by spear or arrow or sickness on the march. She'd never known sorrow of the kind that seized her when her mother read aloud the letter of summons. The traitor Lin Xie and his household. The rest was a dark haze she'd been swimming in for days. Jingyan radiated that same gutting agony like a brazier piled too high. If she touched him, he would scorch her. She wanted to touch him. She wanted to flee. She'd intruded upon something beyond private, a pain that clove to the soul. He is gone he is gone he is gone. It could still swash over her without warning, in a giant wrecking rush. Nihuang dipped into a salute, as if they'd chanced upon each other in court instead of this childhood haunt. Courtesy settled untidily over her indecision. "Your Highness. Forgive the intrusion." "Don't," Jingyan stammered. "Please don't." She withdrew an awkward step. Prince Jing should not entreat her for anything. Her friend Xiao Jingyan might, but in the ruined rasp of his voice, even that was wrong.

And as for my sentences here’s some of the ‘mate’ part
They’ve done this so many times now but this feels different. Buck is moaning his name, a steady chant as his hands knead at whatever flesh he can blindly reach. Eddie’s going to have bruises on his hips, his arse, his shoulders and he doesn’t care. Buck’s desperate, writhing and twisting beneath him, rutting upwards trying to get more and more. Eddie’s seen Buck needy and begging before, enjoyed making him plead for every drop of pleasure but this is different. The man is frantic.
He has to give him more. He has to give him everything.
Hoping to get edited and out soon, maybe tomorrow or Tuesday lmk if anyone wants tag when it’s posted

Seven Sentences Sunday!!
Tagged by @thekristen999 thank you dear!!🩵💜
Distress Call is just about finished, but I took a little break from it to work on a silly Danger Prone Diaz fic. It'll probably be a lot shorter than the others but I don't mind. Have a snippet that takes place just after the last one:
“Buckaroo, this had better be an emergency,” Chim grumbles when he answers. “Do head wounds count as an emergency?” Buck winces. “What? Are you okay?” Chim asks, sobering immediately. “I'm fine,” Buck says. “Eddie is not.” “Then why didn't you call an ambulance?!” Chim shrieks.
Absolutely no pressure tagging: @13shadesofanni @lover-of-mine @monsterrae1 @disasterbuckdiaz @fortheloveofbuddie @daniwib @ronordmann @exhuastedpigeon and anyone else who wants to share!! 🥰🩷

Sentences Sunday
Thanks for the tag @a-noble-dragon!
I've actually had a really productive few writing days and finally finished writing Rosewood (very excited to start posting it but have to read through and edit it first! Hopefully I will be able to get at least the first chapter edited this week.)
Here are some sentences from the first chapter:
“I told you that car would break down again,” David says. “You did,” Patrick concedes. “And I told you that until I learn how to teleport, that car’s my only option.” “It’s not. We can send Bob to pick you up!” “David, I can get myself to work. My car isn’t that bad, most of the time it’s reliable and-” Johnny clears his throat, cutting them off from rehashing their old disagreement and Patrick jerks his head around, flushing when he looks at David’s father. “Sorry, Mr Rose.” Johnny shakes his head and picks up his coffee cup. “It’s fine but we really need to get to work Patrick. David, I need to steal him away. Lots to do today and we’re already behind.” David feels his mouth opening to protest – Patrick’s only just arrived, David’s father should let him sit down, have a snack or something after the morning’s stress – but Patrick is nodding and stepping away from David, walking towards Johnny.
Tagging @ramonaflow, @apothecarose, @flowertrigger, @smblmn, @mammameesh, @stereopticons, @obsessedwithdavrick if anyone has anything they'd like to share (and tagging anyone else who would like to take part too!)

Thanks @hgejfmw-hgejhsf @heybuddy-drabbles @happiness-of-the-pursuit and @14carrotghoul for the tags!
Going to be giving you all a taste of one of my festive fics that'll be coming out sometime between now and the twelfth day of Christmas- enjoy! Tw for mentions of Arthur's death.
The one thing he wanted more than anything, of course, was to have his father back. He knew he wouldn't be getting that, though. Nothing good ever happened to him, that much he knew for sure.
Then his phone ringtone went off, letting him know he had a notification. He glanced at it, and almost dismissed it, given that he didn't know the address. It was more than that, though...
I'm kind of late, but don't think I've seen anything from @myheartalivewrites @zwiazdziarka @auntiepezzasupdates @read-and-write- @raysletters @littlemisskittentoes @rockyroadkylers or @daisymae-12 yet- no pressure, but if you have something to share, please do! Seven(ish) sentences . . . Wednesday?
I heard a line in another show I was watching, and just thought, 'yep, that's Buck.'
Let it be known that I hate the Elder Buckleys with a passion.
I'm hoping to turn this into a short fic, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Here's a snippet.
The door slammed, echoing loudly in the space. That conversation had been a long time coming, and while he hated the pain Buck was in, Eddie knew it would be okay. Eventually. He turned back to Buck, unsurprised to see him with his elbows on his knees, pushing the heels of his hands into his eye sockets. "I'm sorry." "What?" Eddie blinked. Why was Buck apologising? He had nothing to apologise for, especially not to Eddie. "I'm sorry my family is such a nightmare." His mouth twisted, and something in Eddie's heart cracked. "Buck." His voice was sharp, sharper than it probably should be, but Buck needed to hear this. Eddie strode over to the table, reaching out and gripping Buck's shoulder as his thumb slipped into the spot under his collarbone. Bright blue eyes looked up at him, rimmed in red and so tired. "Buck," he said again, softening his tone even as he made sure Buck could hear the steel in his voice. "Margaret and Philip Buckley are your relatives. We, all of us? The 118, and Chris, and Maddie? We are your family." Eddie dipped his head when Buck dropped his gaze, waiting until the other man stopped avoiding him. "Family isn't blood, Buck, it's what you make it. And we've made a damn good one."
Any excuse for me to bash the Elder Buckleys in fiction, really.

Seven Sentences Sunday
Tagged all through the week by @hippolotamus @jamespearce9-1-1 @daffi-990 @wikiangela @malewifediaz @disasterbuckdiaz @exhuastedpigeon @wildlife4life @jesuisici33 @eddiebabygirldiaz @spotsandsocks @the-likesofus @giddyupbuck @heartshapedvows @mangacat201 in several different games, and here’s my contribution (if you guys haven’t been tagged in sss you can use this as your tag)
I wanted to have this chapter out yesterday but that clearly didn’t happen so here have a teaser of chapter two of the parallel universes fic: to survive the tide, love divides
It was the worst it had ever been right after Shannon left, to the point that Eddie wasn’t sleeping at all because he kept thinking he had heard things and he needed to protect Chris. One of his sisters temporarily moved in for a short while, but the thing that ended up helping the most was Buck. Every night he would show up at Eddie’s house and sit by his side while Eddie slept, keeping watch, promising to wake him up if anything bad was going to happen.
Nothing bad ever happened, but Buck was there every single night, until Eddie could sleep through a night without him present and even there he would sometimes wake up at night for no reason and found Buck watching over him.
Maybe it was then when he finally accepted the one thing he had been denying to himself this entire time: He was in love with Buck, and nothing was going to change that.
Tonight however, didn’t feel like that night, it felt like the ones at the very beginning. Eddie felt like there was a threat coming and he wasn’t ready for it.
When he heard someone kicking the door he thought his worst nightmares had come true
Tagging if they wanna share anything @loserdiaz @hoodie-buck @buddierights @prettyboybuckley @rogerzsteven @brokenribsdiaz @spaceprincessem @elvensorceress @spagheddiediaz @underwater-ninja-13 @folk-fae @paranoidbean @honestlydarkprincess @bigfootsmom @leewithme @911onabc @shortsighted-owl @satashiiwrites and whoever else wants to do this!

___________
Here's another snippet from Chapter 26 and it's more of Eddie's 9-1-1 call with Linda.
___________
‍“Eddie!  Listen to me.  I know it’s hard but I need you to remain calm.  Are you listening?”
He is but right now, he’s focused on Buck’s angelic face and to him it looks like he’s sleeping but he knows he’s not.  As his mind starts to spiral, he thinks of all the years they have yet to live along with the plans they have set for their future.  They’re supposed to travel the globe together so they can walk on sandy beaches in Hawaii, travel to Alaska in the dead of winter while it’s 40 degrees below zero, take a ship to Antarctica so they can see the penguins and he hasn’t mentioned it yet but he wants them to go to Sydney, Australia.  He knows they have spiders so big they’ll make them leave but he believes as long as he’s there with his husband, they’ll be ok.
The panic in his chest tries to escape his lungs for the fourth maybe even the fifth time but he swallows and forces it to go away until he can deal with it sometime later.  When he realizes he’s been quiet too long, he replies, “Yes, I—I’m listening.”
“The 141 is still stuck on the interstate but I’ve dispatched another RA unit that’s closer and they’re in the adjoining subdivision.  Their hospital transport got cancelled and they just notified dispatch they’re on their way back to their station but I’m sending them to you.  You should hear the sirens any second.”
He nods even though she can’t see him, then replies, “Ok, but… please, please tell them to hur—ry.”
“They’re coming as fast as they can.  Stay on the line with me, ok?”
“Ok.” He responds as his mind spirals at 100 mph and it’s in a tug of war with his heart because his instincts are telling him it’ll be better for him to wait for the RA unit because the closest hospital is about 10 minutes away and since the I-110 is backed up on both sides, it’ll take him twice as long to drive there and it’ll be even longer if he has to take the streets.
“Eddie?”
“Hmm?”
“I need you to keep talking to me.  You said he’s unresponsive?”
“Yes!”
“Does he have history of a heart condition?”  She knows the answer but she has to ask him for the recorded line.  She was at work the night Buck got struck by lightning and even though she didn’t take the 9-1-1 call, the entire dispatch center was on full alert when Captain Nash explained they had a firefighter who had been struck and they were three minutes out from the nearest hospital.
“Yes, he—he was struck by lightning last year and he—he…”  He stops talking because he’s on the verge of hyperventilating and the panic lodged in his throat is attempting to claw its way out but he inhales a big gulp of air and breathes past it, then he continues.  “He died for—three minutes and seventeen seconds.  That’s how long his heart stop—ped… I know be—because I counted.”
“Don’t worry Eddie, the 128 is enroute and I’m being told by the paramedic on duty they just entered your subdivision.”
Eddie’s crying and he knows it but he doesn’t care.  He emphatically admits, “He… can’t—go… he’s my heart, my every—thing!”
Linda can hear the pain in Eddie’s voice and she wants so badly to be there for her friend.  So, she looks at Sue, who's listening in and gets the nod she was waiting for then says, “It’s ok Eddie.  Just listen to the sound of my voice.  Everything is going to be ok.  Can you hear me?”
“Yes—yes… I can year you.  How much lon—ger before they’ll get here?”  He asks through broken sobs.
“They should be there in less than one minute.  Do you hear the sirens?”
Can Eddie hear the sirens or is he too distraught? 👀
Will Buck make it to the hospital or will he leave Eddie all alone? 🥹

Chapter 14 - Buck and Eddie can see the lights at the end of the tunnels regarding the results of Buck’s Cancer Screening along with everything else they’re dealing with.

[way over seven sentences sunday; NiF fic snippet]
hello again! quite a few people I don't know liked or reblogged my previous post so hi, everyone, I'm in ur fandom posting sad ot3 fic
or at least I will be soon. this first chapter (out of four? I think?) still needs a couple of scenes but it is more finished than not!
thank you all for the nice things you said, I hope I can be worthy of them! have some more youthful suffering (or thirst, as the case may be).
*
"But—" Jingyan did not fight Nihuang. Again, he leaned into her touch, his eyes scrunched shut. "You would still have your—you two could still—" Marry. Be together. Build a life. The letter of summons had torn her future asunder. A ghost danced on the tumbledown boards of the balcony, merry with purloined rice wine and his own cleverness. Kiss me, my sweet Nihuang, before I ride to war. If you don't, I'll have to fall out of this tower, my heart broken. Make Jingyan write a lament for me. She had giggled and protested, until he pouted at her with such wide-eyed woe that she relented. She kissed him on the temple, like she would Qing-er, and Lin Shu's face went soft with surprise. It dropped her laugh back into her stomach. His horseplay and mischief aside, he'd always been gentle with her, but the way he looked at her made her throat burn. His mouth parted. She wanted to chase that innocent kiss with a different one—one she could scarcely imagine, but knew could happen, one that would spread the spark in her throat to her tightened lungs. There was a thump of something falling, and they both swung to look at Jingyan. He had climbed to the balcony with the wine jug, refilled with water to quench their midnight thirst. The water ran from the overturned jug in rivulets along the cracked boards. Nihuang felt Lin Shu's hand on her hip, flexing and then falling away. Her gaze, however, was pinned on Jingyan. His long narrow cheeks pinched with tension, and as she had just felt the same ember of desire flare in herself, she caught its bright, bitter flash in him. He wanted—Lin Shu? Her? Whatever glowed between them?

Here’s some more (unpolished may-have-been-written-while-I-nodded off) bits from I know all your secrets
The following moments are a hazy swirl of contentment, relief and devastating realization. Patrick’s heart thumps beneath David’s ear, tapping out what should be a soothing melody. Instead it’s closer to a tick, tick, tick reminding them Patrick will be gone soon. They aren’t as young as they used to be, but maybe, with a little recovery time, they could do something. Prolong the inevitable.
“No,” David whines before he can stop himself, scrambling to cling harder when he realizes Patrick is trying to move them. “No, please.”
“Shhh,” Patrick whispers, petting David’s hair. “I’m just getting something to clean up, okay? I’ll be right back. Promise.”
David’s not sure he believes him, but reluctantly calms down enough to loosen his hold. His eyelids are heavy, fighting to stay open while he waits.
“Just me,” Patrick murmurs.
The warm cloth is pleasant brushing over his skin, wiping away the messiest evidence of their reunion. David allows Patrick to turn and manipulate his body until he’s as clean as he’ll be for now. Perhaps he can talk Patrick into showering together before he goes.
David rolls on his side, cracking one eye open when he hears fabric rustling across the room. “What are you doing?”
Patrick’s expression becomes unreadable, as though he’s warring with himself about what to say. “I, um—“
“You’re leaving,” David states matter-of-factly, lifting himself up, supported by his elbow.
“I, yeah. I- shouldn’t I? You don’t. I mean, I think-”
“Please stay.”

Seven Sentences Sunday
Tagged by @exhuastedpigeon thank you dear!! 💙💜
I adopted a cover from @ronordmann and I have started writing the fic for it! It's going insanely well so far. So, have some of Endless Sky, the latest Danger Prone Diaz fic:
“I know it’s not something we usually do, but I wasn’t going to let the vouchers go to waste.” The only reason they were there to begin with was because Maddie won an all expenses paid vacation in some dispatch raffle Linda organized. Maddie didn’t want it; she and Chim were too busy wedding planning, and Hen didn’t want it with the baby, and Bobby and Athena were still recovering from their last attempt at a romantic getaway to even consider accepting. Buck jumped at the offer, and asked if Eddie wanted to join, considering Christopher was in El Paso visiting his grandparents for a few days. “I’m not complaining,” Eddie insisted, even though he very much was, just a little bit. “But we’re gonna get snowed in from the looks of things.” “That wouldn’t be so bad,” Buck said with a smirk- a smirk?- before dropping his suitcase on the bench beneath the window and shedding his coat to reveal his maroon sweater.
Absolutely no pressure tagging: @13shadesofanni @lover-of-mine @monsterrae1 @daniwib @housewifebuck and anyone else who wants to share!! 🥰🩷

Thanks for the tags @jamilas-pen, @a-noble-dragon, @ramonaflow and @trickiwooao3!
"Trust me, you’re helping me by giving me a break from all that. All I want right now is to sit here, spend time with you and keep my mind off work for a while.” Well, if that’s what Patrick wants, that’s what he’s going to have. “We can do that. I’ve been told I’m very distracting.” David purses his lips, takes his hand off Patrick’s leg to put a finger on his chin as though he’s thinking. “Often by teachers at school. Not sure they meant it as a compliment.” The joke works; Patrick laughs. “They just didn’t understand you.” “I know,” David sighs theatrically. “It looks like it’s going to be my curse – to go unappreciated in my lifetime.” “Not by everyone.”
I've seen quite a few of these today so unsure who has/hasn't been tagged by now. Consider this an open tag for anyone with something to share!

Sentences Sunday
Thanks for tagging me @hippolotamus @stereopticons and @jesuisici33 💕 I just wrote this scene that I forgot to write until I went to post the latest chapter of Library Boy... so it's a bit hastily written but it did what I needed it to, I guess? I love these meddling teens 😁
"Guys, you'll never guess who I met!" Jonah says as he bounces over to his friends, who are gathered around Katie's locker as they always do before first period. "Who?" Sam asks, too impatient to play guessing games this early in the morning. "Mr. Brewer's library boy! David Rose! He was here, in the school!" "Wait, what?" Katie slams her locker shut and turns toward Jonah, examining his face for any signs of the lie she suspects. "I'm serious, I had a question so I stayed after class and David Rose showed up in Mr. Brewer's classroom." "Oh my god, are they dating? What was he doing here?" Sierra chimes in with questions none of them would have the answers to. "We need to find out. If they aren't, they should be. Seriously you guys, the heart eyes Mr. Brewer was giving him were off the charts. He's got it bad." "What did he look like?" Katie asks. "Tall. Dark. Handsome. Dreamy." Jonah looks wistfully off into nowhere, until his vision clears and he snaps his head around. "There! That's him!" The rest of the group turn in the direction Jonah had been looking, instantly able to pick the man out of the crowd in the hallway, most of which were students among a few recognizable teachers. David Rose, who Sierra, Katie and Sam all agreed was very dreamy, walked past them and into a room a few doors down. The art room, specifically, that had been lacking a permanent art teacher so far this school year. "Holy shit, is David Rose the new art teacher?" Jonah asks, mouth agape. "Oh, this is good." Sierra says. "Okay, we need to find out if they're together, and if not, we need to come up with a plan to make it happen." Sam announces, and they all nod enthusiastically. "This is going to be so much fun!" Katie giggles.
Extra shout out to @lemonlyman-dotcom for the push to write the scene instead of just posting the chapter without it 💛 Open tag if anyone else has sentences to share still, since Sunday is very nearly over everywhere.
