Oh? It's stopped raining. What are you laughing about, Jom? I think it's quite funny. Last time, we were also running for shelter from the rain, just like this time.

Clipping this because it's a cute and important moment for Porsche - with Yok (his surrogate mom) and Jom (drunk best friend) both helping him to admit that he's fallen in love with Kinn
But also - do Porsche and Jom call Yok 'Je' here?
In Perth's YouTube video on Thai honorifics, he says that 'Je' is the female equivalent of 'Hia' and it's used to refer to Thai people with Chinese ancestry who are older than you (in place of 'Phi'), with the literal meaning of 'older sister'.
Now, with just that definition, characters calling Yok 'Je' doesn't mean much, but it seems to me that 'Hia' is used fairly sparingly in the show - I mostly only notice Chay using it for Porsche, and Gun (sometimes) using it for Korn. So, I'm wondering if the writers used Hia/Je when they wanted to highlight a family relationship - for Chay and Porsche (and Porsche, Jom, and Yok?) it emphasizes their closeness, while for Gun and Korn it reminds us that they are brothers, even when they're at each others' throats...
(But then, I don't speak Thai and I'm really just going off of the words I can pick up - I could totally be missing other instances of both Hia and Je throughout the show. If anyone has any insights about this, please let me know!)

KINNPORSCHE WORLD TOUR – WHAT HAPPENED AT THE SINGAPORE SHOW 8 OCTOBER 2022
Tumblr media
Warning: spoilers ahead for those watching other editions of the World Tour. But if you'd like to know what went on during the Singapore show, read on! 😊👍
So the first out-of-Thailand leg of the KinnPorsche World Tour, in Singapore on 8 October 2022, was a giant, steaming hot mess – but in a good way, like a big bowl of multi-ingredient soup full of bold, contrasting flavors that might not be to everyone's taste, but (for those into it) somehow also managed to comfort and energize at the same time.
Tumblr media
Basically it was an assemblage of (mostly stand-alone and unrelated) skits and set pieces revolving around songs and music.  These were interspersed with re-enacted scenes from KinnPorsche The Series, that were introduced by (and sometimes intercut with) video excerpts from the original series itself, projected onto the big screens behind and beside the stage.
The show was largely the same as the World Tour concerts staged in Bangkok, but with some minor tweaks (a lot more English spoken, a few songs changed out, fewer backup dancers, and no aerial wirework). The older generation characters were also absent (so it was a no-show for Annita Sarucha, Kob Songsit and Ex Piya, who played Porsche's mom, Kinn's dad and Vegas' dad respectively).
The concert commenced only a little after the scheduled 6.00pm start time (kudos for the punctuality). Prior to the show proper, Slot Machine's music videos of the KinnPorsche theme song Free Fall (both Thai and English versions) were played on the side screens, and the audience gamely sang along (stopping only to shriek at the love scene bits). Amazingly (or perhaps not) even the non-Thais knew the words, especially to the chorus.
This was followed by a moment of silence, announced to commemorate the victims of the nursery school attack in Uthai Sawan, northeast Thailand on 6 October 2022.
And then the 16 cast members strode onto the stage, dressed in colorful suits with sequined jackets, amid screams and applause from the almost-packed auditorium.
Tumblr media
Mile kicked things off with a somber re-intoning of his Italian line in KinnPorsche – "Chi mente, merita di morire." After some emphatic words of welcome – in English – from Mile and Apo, the cast members introduced themselves one-by-one (in English as well – most of the banter throughout the night was in English, with bits of Thai and Mandarin every now and again only). Energy levels were high, with lots of clenched fists pumping the air.
Tumblr media
The first skit started with a video excerpt from the series, of Kinn kidnapping Porsche from the bar – and then Mile and Apo re-enacted the fight scene on the boat where Kinn was trying to coerce Porsche to be his bodyguard. The skit ended with Porsche running up onto the deck and finally jumping into the river – the last bit was a cutback to the video again, of course.
Tumblr media
Then the action moved on to a skit set at the Hum Bar – Pong in character as Tem performed a dance routine with some backup dancers to the song จังหวะหัวใจ (Jungwa Huajai or Rhythm of the Heart) by Bie Sukrit Wisetkaew, watched by Jom (Ping), Tay (Us) and Time (JJ).
Tumblr media
Tay was all tired out and sleeping by mid-song. After Tem's dance was over, Time went over to him and they flirted big-time – only to be caught by Tay who'd woken up by then. Tay then slapped Time and stormed off.
The next piece was Tong's middle eastern, Bollywood mash-up dance routine with a few backup dancers – this was colorful and flamboyant as befitting the actor who played Tankhun, with a projected backdrop of eclectically-styled domed architecture to match.
Tumblr media
After his dance, Tong stood onstage alone to speak to the audience – his speech was about learning to love himself, and how being in KinnPorsche had helped that journey. There was a lot of support from the audience for Tong (huge roaring applause every time he appeared, as much as – sometimes maybe even more than – for Mile and Apo) and he was visibly moved, close to tears at times. His portrayal in KinnPorsche as the trailblazingly eccentric yet deceptively astute Tankhun definitely touched a chord with fans.
Next came Mile and Apo's re-enactment of the drunken kiss scene between Kinn and Porsche by the riverside.
Tumblr media
Not all the dialogue had surtitles unfortunately, and instead of sitting at the edge of the stage (as though on a riverbank) like they did at the Bangkok show, they stood awkwardly centerstage to deliver their lines. This was probably because the edge was blocked by footlights. Anyway, the stage lighting faded to black before they could kiss (they didn't).
Next up was Jeff Satur – possibly the most accomplished singer of the whole team, he performed the ballad from KinnPorsche Why Don't You Stay, hitting the high notes effortlessly.
Tumblr media
He then stood centerstage and spoke a few words to the audience about himself, before moving to the keyboard artfully set to one corner at the back. Accompanying himself on the instrument, he then sang (in a nod to Singapore) Singaporean singer JJ Lin's English song Bedroom (soulfully, with enviable technique and looking every inch the popstar with his jewelry and long fringe).
Tumblr media
The next segment saw the crew wheeling in a set of metal frames – and Bible fans in the know screamed because that was the set piece for Bible's solo routine (accompanied by four backup dancers). Dressed in a strappy black faux-leather vest with red trousers, this was less a dance piece and more like a whole lotta sexy posing and thrusting choreographed to Rosenfeld's Do It For Me.
Tumblr media
Then the dancers brought in Build in his red jumpsuit and BibleBuild re-enacted the scene when Pete was held prisoner by Vegas, leading up to the moment when he broke free from captivity.
Tumblr media
Next up was a montage of Big's scenes in KinnPorsche, projected on the video screens, and culminating with his death in the shootout protecting Porsche. At his final words (to Porsche) "Mr. Kinn loves you so much. Please take care of him" a backlit Nodt suddenly appeared upstage, dressed all in white (representing a lovelorn Big in the afterlife maybe).
Tumblr media
And then he sang Lipta's อย่าเกลียดกันก็พอ (It's Enough That We Don't Hate Each Other, there's also a Tata Young version) while playing the keyboards. Vocals were slightly shaky pitchwise, but musically very heartfelt. Song over, Nodt then moved downstage and spoke about how portraying Big had inspired him in his life.
Then it was time for Us Nititorn's vocal and dance performance, and he was excellent. Dude can move.
Tumblr media
With the projection on the backdrop, it seemed more like a slick dance music video, and he didn't miss a beat. The song he sang (and danced to) was Mirror Mirror, originally by F.HERO and MILLI (featuring Changbin of Stray Kids).
Then Build came on for a dance sequence set to Mommae by Jay Park.
Tumblr media
Also a credible dancer, Build's confidence and energy were infectious (as usual, the smile never left his face). And after his piece, he was joined by Us and the two of them showcased (with some backup dancers) some powerhouse choreography set to BigBang's Bang Bang Bang.
Tumblr media
Still continuing the trend for dance, Barcode was up next and in contrast to his usual sweetboy persona, he put on – brows consistently furrowed – a big and bold hip-hop number, dancing to iKON's Classy Savage while backed by four female dancers. As with the preceding dance routines, the sound, lighting, moves and backdrop were all music video ready and in-your-face brash, quite startling and unexpected from the youngest member of the troupe (even though the overall look was cuteyfied by the revolving smileys on the backdrop projection).
Tumblr media
Dance number done, Barcode went centerstage to say a few words – and then he was back to his usual semi-timid persona, somewhat unsure of himself, with cute boy mannerisms galore (including spinning around in nervousness at being all tiny and alone onstage). But he held the attention nonetheless, encouraged by the supportive screams from the audience, before launching into his sweet song from KinnPorsche เพลงนี้ชื่อว่าเธอ (This Song is Called You).
Then suddenly Jeff stepped back onstage – and they proceeded to re-enact the awkward scene in KinnPorsche where Chay goes to see Kim after being ghosted. Jeff as Kim coldly dismissed a morose Barcode/Chay with an offhand "Later" and walked off to the side – where the keyboard was waiting, and where Jeff then reprised Why Don't You Stay, this time in English, every crying note imbued with regret and longing, giving lie to Kim's indifference just moments before.
Next, the tone shifted abruptly with a video excerpt from KinnPorsche projected onto the screens. Specifically, this was the scene where Kinn and Porsche were lost in the forest after escaping their captors, and Kinn asked Porsche about his dream in life – which Porsche revealed was to open a beachside bar. Mile and Apo then appeared onstage (cue thunderous applause again), and acted out an imagined scene where Kinn had bought Porsche his dream bar by the sea.
Tumblr media
The video backdrop was all dreamy sunsets, rolling waves with swaying palms, and – seated on barstools – Mile romantically sang Ronan Keating's When You Say Nothing at All while strumming his guitar, with Apo by his side. And then it was Apo's turn at the mike, accompanied by Mile's guitar – and he proved himself quite an adept crooner, singing the surprise song choice of the night Fly Me to the Moon (the Sinatra version, in common time).
Tumblr media
It wasn't flawless, but Apo had surprisingly good tone and it was a pleasure to listen to. Nice shoes too, Apo.
Then – to some dramatic music and more screams – Bible and Ta came on stage for the next sequence, focused on the minor family. (The video backdrop switched to a projection of the minor family's stately home.)
Tumblr media
They performed a choreographed routine (once again, more an emphatic pose-off rather than a dance), set to Gary Clark Jr. and Junkie XL's version of Come Together. This then segued into a sequence where Ta showed off his prowess with a nunchaku, and Bible spun some martial arts moves with a pole, wushu-spear style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The teeny jackets also came off at some point, so a lot of this huffing was shirtless except for some sexy black straps on their torsos.
After Bible and Ta's set, the proceedings took a detour with a sequence that was in keeping with the zany, chaotic, campy tone of the concert, while also being absolutely unrelated to KinnPorsche The Series. Perth came onstage looking a little filled out and blowsy in a full black suit with white gloves and began telling the audience about his childhood dream of being a superhero, and how the World Tour had allowed his dream to come true. Some bad guys (JJ, Ping and Pong) in long black trenchcoats then appeared, and they began to antagonize Perth, who dashed into an English red telephone booth that had magically materialized upstage – whereupon the black suit came off and he transformed into (who else?) Sailor Moon.
Tumblr media
And his superhero persona was replete with a yellow wig, campy poses and the ability to knock back the bad guys simply by throwing white-gloved karate air chops. Huge screams from the audience at Perth's enthusiastic cosplaying, in tandem with the Sailor Moon theme song. Good fun. (The backup dancers twirling ribbons didn't include Job and Bas though, unlike in the Bangkok show.)
So then the concert continued its commitment to the wackiness when Apo and Mile in full costume as Zhan Zhao and the Monkey King entered the theater from a side door offstage and proceeded to walk through the audience.
Tumblr media
Those seated at the front had the luckiest seats in the house, because Mile and Apo spent quite a bit of time gamely posing for pictures there, all smiles and very engaging (although the burly security flanking them made sure nobody in the audience got too boisterous). In case you were wondering, apparently being in a skit with Zhan Zhao was Mile's lifelong dream. And Apo was more than happy to oblige.
Then the concert went back to song and dance. Build came on to perform a very cabaret-sounding, jaunty Thai song (his mom's favorite, he later told us) – 1997's I Love You More Than Anyone (รักคุณยิ่งกว่าใคร) originally sung by the prince of Thai country music Got Jakrapun (ก๊อท จักรพันธ์).
Tumblr media
Fun fact – apparently Build's mom was a fan of Got Jakrapun and named baby Build after him (although Build's formal first name is usually spelt Jakapan instead). Anyway, the song had much in common with the more high-cheese OTT examples of Singapore's getai performances (suggested by the brassy accompaniment and the somewhat chacha-ish beat), also helped by Build's get-up – a cream suit, with sequins, and voluminous feathering at the shoulders. The backdrop screen billed him as Bew Chakraphan though (no idea why).
Then it was time for the bodyguards to have their much-anticipated Magic Mike moment. Only four of them performed – Nodt, Perth, Job and Bas, and there was no posse of backup dancers unlike the Bangkok show. I felt they looked a bit lonely on stage – but the screams from the audience were by far the loudest for this segment.
Tumblr media
This was a no-holds barred, full-on steamy session, and the four were in fine shape as they danced their way through proper strip club choreography set to a remix of Ginuwine's Pony, complete with hip thrusts, body rolls and floor humping. Nodt's hip-swiveling was especially good.
To calm things down after the bodyguards' show of hidden talent, the trailer for the upcoming MileApo movie (slated for 2023) was projected onto the video backdrop.
Tumblr media
It was as beautiful as ever, even if the shift in tone was a mighty jarring one with all of the traditional Thai music, costume finery and elegantly fluid dancing (courtesy of Apo) coming right after the raunchy male stripping just moments before. But then again I suppose whiplash changes in content and style was one consistent hallmark throughout the entire evening.
With temperatures cooled, all the cast re-assembled on stage in their black KinnPorsche t-shirts and said a few words each about their journey with the series and with the concert.
Tumblr media
Their speeches were far too much to transcribe for here, so I'll save that for another post if I can muster up the energy (and time).
All 16 spoke in English for the most part (Tong forgot himself and lapsed into Thai a bit, while Nodt gave his speech in Mandarin, and Jeff started off with a bit of Mandarin too). While it's true that the speeches had a lot of (probably memorized) audience-affirming lines in the vein of It's all thanks to you! Thanks for your support! We love you! but at the same time there was a lot of genuine emotion on display too.
You got the sense that all of them truly enjoyed putting on this show and their participation in KinnPorsche The Series as well, so much so that the (loose) theme of the night, about dreams coming true and how that had played out for each of them, actually seemed to resonate in their words (especially in the light of reports on how badly some other BL actors are treated by their production houses or studios).
Apparently Be On Cloud always treats the performers in its stable with respect, and the working environment on its projects is consistently upbeat and non-abusive – this certainly showed in the joy and sense of fun on stage that night. P'Pond (Be On Cloud bigwig Pond Krisda Witthayakhajorndet) was called out and thanked many, many times even though he did not go into the limelight at any point – the boys were more than happy to shine the spotlight metaphorically on him whenever they could.
So the gang then did one more tip of the hat to the idea of dreams coming true. The band Cumulus (made up of Mile, Ping, Pong, Nodt, Bas and Build living out their rock star dreams) took to the stage for a four-song set.
Tumblr media
They kicked off this mini-concert within the concert with Bas on vocals, singing Shawn Mendes' There's Nothing Holding Me Back (supported by Mile, Build and Pong on guitar, Nodt on keyboards and Ping on drums). Then Apo came on to take over as vocalist from Bas, singing Glai (ใก้ล, meaning Close) by Scrubb, from the OST of 2gether the Series. For this second song Bas took over guitar duties from Build, who in turn switched over to his saxophone. Then it was Mile's turn at the mike, and he did a vocal cover of Maroon 5's This Love while Apo took a break as custodian of his guitar. Build got to do a sax solo as well during this song, and Mile then switched back from vocals to the guitar, to riff out his own instrumental solo after Build's as well. The band then closed their set with guest vocalist Jeff, who sang – what else? – Slot Machine's Free Fall (he's probably the only one who can handle the soaring rock falsetto of the bridge, in terms of range if not technique). And the rest of the cast then joined them onstage to rock along, as glittery confetti rained down from above.
But that wasn't the end. True to the theme of living your dreams, the band invited Ta to live out his dream of being a house disc jockey, and Ta then proceeded to get everyone in the audience on their feet with a rousing dance music set from behind the DJ console onstage (that spun out a mostly techno playlist, although I don't know what the Macarena was doing in the mix). Meanwhile all the cast continued to caper around him, adding to the general sense of carousing mayhem, and the whole place descended into one big techno party.
Music, madness, and mayhem. Would you have expected anything less from the cast of KinnPorsche let loose to live their dreams? I think a good time was had by all, and the show ended quite a bit after three hours. Longish for a concert, and testament I think to how much the performers were having the time of their lives (as were the audience too). Long may it last. 💖

So, second week of 15 Minutes with KPTS, which is about the time Ep 1 takes to pull back and begin showing us the families of our titular protagonists, notably their main drivers/motivators, aka Korn re: Kinn and Chay debt Chay re: Porsche.
I went a little past 15 minutes last week, and arguably, that extra minute and a half could also slot in here, as it mainly includes the Bodyguard Farm rolling up to rescue Kinn from a gas-station parking lot in the middle of Plebtown – which is our first look at Ken, Arm, Pol and Blurry Pete – and that’s kind of Kinn’s home environment, if you wanted to stretch it. (The bodyguards rolling up in fancy cars, not a gas-station parking lot in the middle of Plebtown. More’s the pity. It would probably be good for him, given the way he enjoys the wilderness in Ep 6.) We actually already saw a bit of this, as Kinn’s walking out of the family compound to the car when the ep opens, which is only just now hitting me – we get introduced to both Kinn and Porsche “on the job” before moving to home/family in the first half hour, and the fact that home is also technically “on the job” for Kinn tells us something about how he always has to have work face on – there’s no real private space for him to escape to, he lives in the family compound, where the family does business, which means that everything, at some level, is business, and he's never NOT the Heir To The Theerapanyakul (Mafia) Empire. That boundary blurring has not and will not serve him well.
So, we technically get Kinn’s home/family environment as the first one we have exposure to, and it’s pretty cold and emotionally off-putting, if glammed up (poor little rich boy?). But from here, we cut to Porsche on his motorcycle, rolling up to his slightly shabby home lit up in warm and inviting tones of yellow, with fairy lights in the trees and a swing in the yard and candles burning in the house, and where we’re introduced to more plot points than we realize at the time: Pictures of Namphueng and Red-Shirt McKittisawasd, along with Chay and Porsche; “Uncle” Arthee, after going a few rounds with someone who’s a better fighter than he is; debt debt debt; and discussion of “Chai,” who came around to collect the rent. Meanwhile, Chay’s trying to patch up Arthee, and apparently it’s a good thing Uncle was around, or they might have hurt Chay instead, and I’m left wondering once again about the actual extent of Bee Pongsate’s imprint on this script, two weeks after watching high-school student Sailom on Dangerous Romance get the shit kicked out of him over payment on a debt while his older working brother/caretaker wasn’t home.
Anyway, we’re immediately given a front-row seat to how overly parentalized Porsche is. The parental figures in the happy family photo are nowhere to be seen and in fact have their portraits set on a mantle between two lighted candles in a display reminiscent of a shrine. Porsche is in charge of family finances (prioritizing Chay’s tuition over the rent), and spends part of this time reassuring his baby brother when Chay apologizes for … existing and going to school. “Uncle” Arthee has (supposedly) lost all his money investing in crypto, looks to Porsche for answers and can’t even feed himself, apparently. Porsche tells Arthee and Chay to eat the dinner he brought home, saying he already ate, which is a blatant lie, and such a Mom poverty thing to do I could scream into a pillow. We’re also going to additionally learn later in this segment that the fighting skills we’ve seen Porsche display in his rescue of Kinn are mainly put to use underground street-fighting, when we smash-cut to a fighting pit that looks like an empty abandoned swimming pool, where guys are kicking the shit out of each other for the amusement of a lot of people in designer clothes who are busy dancing and literally waving around fistfuls of cash in between bouts of guys getting their teeth knocked out. We meet both Jom and the phoenix tattoo at the fighting pit. Apo literally struts around with Porsche’s chest literally pushed out like it’s a literal cockfight. We get our first badly integrated product placement. We get feral Porsche, tongue between his teeth, probably appreciating having somebody to take out his aggression and frustration on. We get Porsche getting kicked in the face, clotheslined and crawling to his feet before finally taking out his final opponent because the promoter told him to draw it out, and then getting shorted his fee because he didn’t draw it out long enough. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
I mean, yes – yes, I am, and I’m going to miss street-fighting Porsche when this plot thread just gets dropped later, but I’m also going to point out that there’s a significant single-mom-to-sex-work pipeline and say that the fighting pit is, maybe, another look at Porsche as hustler, particularly the way he’s supposed to fix his bout by extending it. We’ve seen him sell himself as sex appeal in his job at the bar, and he’s selling his body here just as much as if he was selling it for sex, and no less than he’ll be selling it to the Theerapanyakuls in order to help pay off debt and Chay’s tuition by working as a bodyguard + whatever kind of extra relationship Korn was envisioning with Kinn. Korn will buy Porsche as a companion for Kinn, just as surely as Kinn pays for the time and services of those very tasteful escorts we see him with, and I will remember all of this, every single bit of it, when we learn certain things later about Korn Theerapanyakul.
Anyway, back to the scenes with Chay and Arthee, and speaking of hindsight during a re-watch, I was very interested in watching Arthee’s face when he looks at the watch that Porsche brought home. When you know his background, you can realize he recognizes it, and it’s one reason he’s so apprehensive when he asks if Porsche stole it. He supposedly takes it and pawns it, but I have my doubts whether that actually happens or if he just shows up at the servants’ entrance of Chez Theerapanyakul with it in hand to return to Korn and gets given some money to make his story seem plausible. There’s also a point here when he apologizes to Porsche and says that he’s supposed to be helping them but he’s only making things worse. With re-watch hindsight, I have a moment to wonder how many levels he means this on, before I then suddenly wonder if this sadsack motherfucker is actually Vegas Theerapanyakul levels of manipulative and is using the truth to garner sympathy.
We spend less time with Kinn in this 15-minute segment, and the scene in Chez Theerapanyakul begins with Chan showing up typically stone-faced to report to Korn on the extent of Big’s gunshot wound and expected recuperation time, which is apparently months. Which is interesting, because as disposable as the bodyguards seem to be at other times, I’m a little surprised they’re willing to keep a winged one around for months of light duty – does he have to take a cut in pay? Or is Big special somehow? On hearing this, Korn looks around and asks “So, are you happy now?” in a “See how you fucked up?” tone of voice, and we pull back to see that Kinn is in attendance on his father, standing behind Korn and his potter’s wheel, where Korn is badly forming some kind of vessel and metaphor out of clay, attempting to mold it to his wishes (:coff coff:).
I suddenly realize that this is the first thing we ever hear Korn say to his son: “Are you happy now (that you have made a mess of things)?” Well, that’s going to set a trend. Also, if Porsche is overly parentalized in this segment, then by contrast, Kinn gets treated a lot like a recalcitrant child, an impression that isn't helped by his acting like one. He’s got his head down as Korn scolds him, telling him that, in this business, he needs to know his place (OH, REALLY, Puppetmaster?) and talking about how, when Korn was starting out, he had be be respectful and bring gifts. Kinn’s had his head down this whole time, but this is the point when we get a shit-eating grin as he reassures Korn that he sent Don an apology gift – a pile of goons literally tied up in red ribbon, we see. Kinn’s clearly amused with himself. Chan’s still stone-faced. Korn leaves, and Kinn looks at a computer tablet, which we eventually see has security camera footage from the alley of Porsche saving his ass from machete killers. (Oh, shit. Does that mean somebody’s got footage of every time Porsche fucked a customer, plus the VP meeting from Ep 13?)
Kinn wants to know if Chan's found Jom, yet.
Because that’s what Porsche said his name was.
Gets us to 29:20 for this week.

Recipe for Farewell
Tumblr media
Review: Oneuleun Jom Maewoolji Molla - Lee Ho Jae
Drama Recap: A story about how a family comes together when one member is diagnosed with cancer. Da Jung is an editor that has been separated from her husband Chang Wook. They have a son, Jae Ho, who lives with Da Jung. After being diagnosed with cancer, Da Jung seeks aid from her husband, not having anyone else to turn to. He complies and moves back in with his family to cook and care for Da Jung. Through out the drama we get to see Chang Wook’s cooking skills improve, which is surprising as he wasn’t much of a cook. We get to experience the hardships and the journey of Da Jung’s cancer progression, and the effect it has on her, her family, and her friends. By the end of the drama Da Jung passes away but is grateful that her cancer helped her foster a greater bond with her husband. She is also relieved that Jae Ho and Da Jung have become closer. Her husband ends the drama by showing us his longing for his wife, his cooking, and his first draft for a cookbook.
Opinions: I found this drama through one of my favourite actresses Kim Seo Hyung, and boy am I happy to have watched it. To make this easier to explain (because filled with so many emotions right now), I’ll organize my three topics below:
The Universal Love Language: Food
At first, I really liked watching Chang Wook cooking, and listening to him narrate the recipes with an almost poetic approach. Seeing such an organized kitchen, and the process of making food made me want to cook as well! However, as I kept on watching I found that I was looking forward to the people that he was cooking for instead. In the show we get to understand that although Chang Wook may seem like a very sweet person, he wasn’t always like that. Even by the end of the show Da Jung is consistent to point out his flaws, especially his communication. You would think a talented writer and lecturer like Chang Wook would be good with words, but according to their split up, he obviously didn’t use it when he needed it the most. This may seem depressing, but it is why watching this show was all the more special. Da Jung was able to see how much her husband loved her through his cooking and the effort he put into it. Through that I believed is one of the biggest reasons they were able to love again. This part of the show also hits home for me. Since my parents are also very bad with verbal affection, but always tried to make up for it by cooking or buying me food. When Da Jung said, “it’s sharing food that makes us family”, it had never felt so true to me. As all of my good memories of being with others had always contained food. Another remark that I really liked was when the doctor express that even though Da Jung cannot eat, it doesn’t mean they need to hide food from her. This is because good memories don’t only come from eating food, but the enviroment that forms around it. Lastly, it is important to show love to others, but most importantly to yourself. To see Chang Wook’s meals change from instant ramen to actual healthy meals even after his wife’s passing was relieving to see. I think one of the reasons Da Jung was so adamant on Chang Wook’s eating habits was that how you eat can reflect how much you care about yourself. We learn later that one of the big fights that occurs between the couple had to do with Chang Wook’s self confidence with his writing. Unable to accept criticism and unconfident to make his own book, Chang Wook is unable to truly appreciate himself. If you really think about it, properly nourishing your body is one of the most basic ways to show self love. I strongly believe that Chang Wook’s first book draft and his continuous cooking is correlated to how much he’s come to cherish himself. I hope that as I grow older, I will have the ability to show my love to others, and myself, through my cooking.
Repairing Relationships
Although I’m not married and don’t plan on being married, I would say I am quite knowledgeable about relationships. Seeing how much my parent’s relationship failed, made me curious if they could have ever been a happy couple. I love seeing series like this drama that allow us to explore what it means to be married, and what it means to truly love someone. Da Jung is a confident, organized book editor, and publisher that likes to take care of herself. Meanwhile, Chang Wook is a somewhat mellow, unorganized book translator that does not take care of himself well. Da Jung and Chang Wook are portrayed as almost polar opposites, with writing being the only thing they have in common.  So, when the only thing they have in common is removed, it was only natural that their relationship came crumbling down. However, are relationships just having things in common with your partner? I would say initially the commonalities between people are what brings them together, but its caring that truly makes the relationship last. I agreed with Da Jung when she said “there are infinite reasons to breakup, but its courage that keeps you together” to her son when he was breaking up with his girlfriend. Both couples cared for each other before, during, and after their fights. Their inability to admit their caring through apologies and confrontation is what makes their relationships fall apart. The subject here doesn’t matter, the important thing to take away is that you can’t expect your partner to know your intentions without properly discussing it. There is actually a scientific formula for marriages that lasts, and that report a higher satisfaction. The secret is that the couple can fight as much as they want, but they need to have a caring mindset, and have actual respectful conversations to solve their arguments. I’m happy that this show portrays how to have a proper relationship, and that its never too late to reach out to a lover or loved one.
The Journey of Cancer
I’ve known two people in my family that have passed due to cancer, my aunt, and my grandfather. I missed my grandfather’s journey of bone cancer but was present for my aunts. I remember her slowly being unable to hide the fact that she was in pain and was terrified of her disease. I can’t ever imagine the fear of having such a diagnosis, knowing that your time is almost up. Through this show I got to get a glimpse of the true needs of a cancer patient and their loved ones. Cancer doesn’t need to be sad; cancer doesn’t have the right to take everything away from a person. Instead of focusing on the negatives, we should focus more on the positives, and what we can do before our loved one’s pass. One of my favourite scenes in the drama was when the trio were out on the parking lot grilling sliced pork for Da Jung’s cravings. In that moment of happiness, they were able to forget about the hurricane, and instead created a beautiful memory. Its important to remember that a cancer patient still has time, and they can still be happy. I also liked how Da Jung was slowly preparing to say goodbye by moving into the care home. In the beginning, I couldn’t understand why she would want to leave her family and live elsewhere. However, now I understand that she was doing it to help comfort herself and her family. Sometimes its really important to think hard and try to understand others before judging them. Speaking of which, the last scene I also loved was when they allowed Da Jung to see others eat the food that she couldn’t. As mentioned above, some things are more complicated than they seem. I actually recently got visited from my friends, and we went to eat together by the riverside. I don’t think we talked much, but the feeling of being together, enjoying the view, and the overall atmosphere felt almost as good as the chicken that I had. I’m obviously joking. Anyway, I think that I understand that point of view a little better now. I’m glad that I learned that cancer doesn’t have to be a road filled with sorrow, but with joy and love as well.
TLDR: A show that gives the viewer a great perspective on love, marriage, and cancer. Acting and the filmography was great. 10/10

Having Fun (Part 1)
It's been years since me and Jin started dating. But now we were both living in different houses. It was pretty lonely now and then but I still was enjoying myself. I was up in my room, browsing through my phone when I get a call. I answer the call. "Hello?" I say. "Navya? Is that you?" Jin says. "Jin! Yeah, it's me! How are you?" i ask. "Good. How about you?" he asks. "I'm fine. So, why did you call me?" I say. "Well, my older brother is having a party and he invited both of us! Wanna come? The other guys are also invited!" Jin asks.
"A party?! Of course! I love parties! When is it?" I ask. "Tonight. At 10:00 pm." Jin says. "Great! I'll be there!" I say. "How about I pick you up?" Jin asks. "Yes, that would be great!" I say. "Alright! I'll pick you up at 9:30." Jin says. "Sounds good. I'll see you then. Bye!" I say. "Bye!" Jin says. We both hang up. I couldn't control my excitement. "Jin's older brother is having a party! Man, am I excited! I should probably get dressed." I say. I hop off of my bed and go to my closet. I have a few party dresses but I have to pick the best one. After a having a hard time choosing, I finally chose. I changed and got dressed. "Jin's gonna love it." I say. with a smile. I wore a long red dress.
Tumblr media
Then, I put on makeup. I put on mascara, eyeshadow, and blush. For the final touch, I added a layer of lip gloss on my lips. Next, I went to get some jewelry. I chose a beautiful silver necklace and some silver hoops.
Tumblr media
As I was putting on my hoops, I heard the doorbell ring. It's Jin. I run down the stairs. "Coming!" I say, still putting on my other hoop. I open the door and see Jin wearing a suit and holding a bouquet of flowers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Hey!" I say, smiling. "Hey! Wow. You look beautiful. I love your dress." Jin says, taking my hand kissing it. I blush. "Thank you. And you look very handsome. Love the suit and tie." I say. "Thanks. I bought some flowers for you. I hope you like them." Jin says, handing me the flowers. "I love them. Mmmm...they smell good." I said, going back inside and putting them into a vase. "I'm ready." I say. "Okay, let's go. Jin says. He takes my hand and guided me to his car. Jin's car was amazing!
Tumblr media
"I love your car! It's so big!" I say. "Thanks!" Jin says. "I wanna ride it with the other guys! Maybe we can have a party with lights inside, listening to your songs!" I say. Jin laughs. "Maybe. That does sound fun. Here, let me open the car door for you." Jin says. I get inside the car. "Why, thank you. You're being very considerate today." I say. "I know. Now, let's get going. We don't wanna keep the other guys waiting." Jin says, getting inside. Jin starts the engine and we drive to Jin's older brother's house. On the way there, Jin kept on telling me dad jokes which made me laugh so hard that I cried. When we got there, I was surprised. His house was enormous! Like a mansion!
Tumblr media
"Wow, Jin! Did your older brother rob a bank or something cause this house is amazing!" I say, in awe. We both got out of the car. "Yeah, it's amazing." Jin says. Jin locks the car and we walk up to the front door. Jin rings the doorbell. Then someone opens the door. It's Jin's brother. "Jin! You made it!" He says. "Yeah! Jung, this is Navya. My girlfriend. Navya, this is Jung, my older brother." Jin says. "Hi. it's very nice to meet you!" I say. "You too! Jin has told me all about you! I'm just glad Jin has a girl now!" Jung says. I laugh. "Well, come on in!" Jung says. "Thanks, Jung!" Jin says.
Jin and I step inside the house and take our shoes off. I looked all around. There were lights everywhere, music playing in the background, games to play, and so much more! There was even a snack table! "Wow, Jung! This party is amazing!" I say. "I know, right?! It's pretty epic!" Jung says. Just then I hear someone call me name. "Navya! Over here!" The voice says. I look around and spot Suga waving at me. "Hey, there are the other guys! Let's go!" I say, running. "Navya, wait up!" Jin says, running after me. "Suga!" I say, wrapping my arms around him. He wraps his arms my waist. I squeeze him into a hug. I let go. "Hey! You look great!" Suga says. "Thanks! You too!" I say. Suga was also wearing a suit.
Tumblr media
"Where are the other guys?" I ask. "Oh, they're over there, playing games." Suga says, pointing. I turn and see the others. I call out. "Hey, guys! Over here!" I say, waving my arm. The guys turn around and see me and Jin. "Navya's here!" V says. "Yay!" Jimin says. They all run over to me and I open my arms wide. V wraps his arms around my waist and squeezes me. I wrap my arms around his neck. "You're here!" says, a excited V. I laugh. "Okay, my turn!" Jimin says.
Jimin wraps his arms around my waist, squeezing me. I wrap my arms around his neck. "It's so good to see you!" Jimin says. "You too!" I say. Then J-Hope pushes Jimin to the side and hugs me. "This party is amazing! You're gonna have a blast!" J-Hope says. "I know I am!" I say. Then Jungkook and RM give me hugs. "Wow. So many hugs! You guys must be really excited that I'm here!" I say. "We are! It's been boring with just us guys but now you're dating Jin!" Jungkook says. "That means that you can hang out with us! Which makes it even more fun!" RM says. I laugh. "Thanks, guys! And wow! You guys all looks so handsome in those suits!" I say.

"Thanks! And you look so good in that dress!" V says. "Thanks! Now, come on! Let's have some fun!" I say. Everyone cheers and we head to Jung's living room. We played Super Mario 3D World, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Super Mario Maker 2! Whenever I was playing, the other guys would be warning me about any enemies that were coming for me like Jungkook saying "Navya, watch out for that Goomba!" and Suga saying "Watch out for that Charging Chuck!" and V saying "Navya, watch out for that Fire Bro!" and Jimin saying "Woah, watch out, Navya for that Piranha Creeper!"
It was actually pretty fun, to be honest! When I wasn't playing, I would be warning the other guys about enemies coming for them like "Jin, watch out for that Conkdor!" and "Watch out for that Boomerang Bro, Jimin!" and "Jungkook, you're almost out of time!" and "Woah, watch out Suga! For that Banzai Bill!" and "Oh, no! V! Watch out for that Stingby!" I'm glad I told them cause they didn't notice those enemies until after I said watch out! Also, if I hadn't told them, then they would've died and started from the beginning.
Anyway, it was so much playing video games with the other guys. Especially Jin, because I know how much he loves Mario. I love Mario, too. We also laughed whenever someone's character died. We were literally crying. We were all having so much fun that I didn't want to leave. After we played some video games, we did karaoke. Jung brought out the machine and boy was it huge! "I wonder what songs it has!" I say. "It has any song you can think of!" Jung says. "What song should we do?" Jimin asks. We all think. "Hmmmm...I know! How about Boy In Luv?" V says.
youtube
"That's a great song!" J-Hope says. "Yeah, let's do it!" Jin says. "Alright! Who wants to go first?" Jung asks. Immediately, Suga and V's hands go up. "Come on up!" Jung says. Suga and V both have microphones in their hands and they're ready to sing. The song starts and the lyrics start showing on the TV screen. "Go, Suga! Go, V!" I say, laughing. We all laugh and cheer for them. After they finish, we all clap and cheer. We give high fives."That was awesome!" Jungkook says, giving both of them high fives. "Thanks!" V says. "Next song!" Jung says. "Let's do Just One Day!" Jin says.
youtube
"Another amazing song by us!" RM says. "Who wants to go second?" Jung asks. Jimin and Jungkook's hand goes up. "Alright! Jimin and Jungkook! Let's get them!" Jung says. Jimin and Jungkook both have microphones in their hands and they're ready to sing. The song starts and the lyrics start showing on the TV screen again. "Go, Jimin! Go, Jungkook!" J-Hope says, laughing. Jimin and Jungkook made us laugh even more. After they finished, we cheered once again. "Now, that was amazing!" RM says. We all give high fives. "I know!" Jimin says. "Okay, next song! What's it gonna be?" Jung asks. "Oh! Let's do War of Hormone!" I say.
youtube
"Yes! Let's do it!" Jungkook says. "Okay, who's going?" Jung asks. "I will! Navya too!" Jin says, standing up. "Alright, get on up there!" Jung says. I didn't get up. "Navya, what's wrong?" Suga asks. "Yeah. Aren't you gonna sing with Jin?" Jimin asks. "I want to. I really do, but I can't sing. I don't even know the lyrics and I don't know Korean." I say. "Aw, Navya. You don't have to know the lyrics and know Korean." V says. I turn to V. "Really?" I ask.
"Yeah. It doesn't matter. Just do your best and have fun." J-Hope says. I think for a minute. "Besides, this may be your only chance to sing with your boyfriend." RM says. "That is true. Okay! I'll sing. But you guys better not laugh!" I say, standing up. "We won't!" Jin says. Jin hands me the microphone and we both get ready to sing. The songs starts playing and the lyrics start scrolling on the screen. Jin sings RM and Jungkook's lines:
"Jonjaehae jwoseo (cham) Gamsahae Jeonhwa jom haejwo naega (ham) bap salge Ah yojeum michin michin geo gata gichim gichim Hage mandeuneun yeojadeul otcharim Da bichim bichim (Berimachwi) Ttaengkyu! Then I sing V's part: "Hello hello (What!) Hello hello (What!) Tell me what you want right now Hello hello (What!) Hello hello (What!) Imma give it to you girl right now!" I say. Then me and Jin sing together: "Ni apeseo baebae kkoineun nae mom (Nege dagaseogo sipjiman neomu simhage areumdawo) Yeojaneun choegoui Seonmuriya seonmuriya Jinjja nae sowoneun (Neoppuniya neoppuniya) Nan neoramyeon I'm OK Oh jajega andwae maeil Aptaedo choego dwitaedo choego Meoributeo balkkeutkkaji choego choego" Me and Jin say.
The other guys cheer and laugh. "Go, Jin! Go, Navya!" Suga says. After the song finishes, the guys all cheer and clap. They give me and Jin high fives. "That was fantastic!" Jimin says, giving me and Jin a high five. "Thanks!" Jin says. "I'm just surprised that I managed to sing. Even without knowing Korean." I say. "Well, just like we said before: it doesn't matter. We just wanna have fun with you." V says, smiling. I smile back at him. "Thanks." I say. "So, now what?" Jin says. "Yeah, I'm thirsty. I'm gonna get a drink." I say, walking to the kitchen. "Me too. My throat feels dry after singing." Jin says, following me. Once we got there, there were so many drinks to choose from like Coke, Sprite, Lemonade, Fanta, and Dr. Pepper. I chose Coke cause I love Coke. It's what I always get. Jin also chooses Coke. We both sit down and drink.
"I had fun singing with you." Jin says, taking a sip of his drink. "Me too. All the guys laughed and cheered. I gotta admit, it was pretty funny." I say, taking a sip of my drink. "Yeah. They even forgot some of the lyrics!" Jin says, laughing. "Yeah! And it's a song you guys sang!" I say, laughing. then we both crack up laughing. "The guys always make me laugh." I say, smiling at Jin. Jin laughs. "Me too." Jin says, smiling back at me. Jin looks at my legs. "What?" I ask. "Your dress has ridden up." He says. I look down and he was right. "Oops." I say. "It's okay. I got it." Jin says. He pulls my dress down. "Thanks." I say. "No problem." Jin says. I take another sip of my drink. Then Jin caresses my thigh. "How's the drink?" He asks. "I like it. A lot!" I say. "Are you enjoying the party?" Jin asks.
"Yeah, I am! It's a bit loud but I like it!" I exclaim happily, making Jin chuckle. Then Jin stands up and leans in. I cover his mouth with my hand quickly before he could even touch my lips. "What?" Jin asked. "I have lip gloss on my lips and it's gonna transfer to your lips!" I say. "I don't care. I just want a kiss from you!" Jin says, in a whining tone. I sigh. "Fine, but just one!" I said as I looked at him straight in the eyes. I stood up. Jin nodded and puts his hands on my waist and connected his lips to mine.
I wrap my arms around his neck. I was about to break the kiss but Jin held my waist tight, preventing me from his lips. I lightly pushed his chest to tell him that's enough but he wouldn't let go. Jin had such a strong hold on me that I had no choice but to give in, kissing him back passionately. I felt him smirk again into the kiss, pulling me even more closer. He broke the kiss to breath but he quickly dug into my neck, kissing my neck, sucking on some parts that he knew were my sweet spots. "Jin, that's enough..." I moaned. I put my hand over my mouth. I prayed the other guys didn't hear me moan.
Then Jin lets go of my lips and looks at me, with a smirk, knowing that I was in the mood...just like him. "Let's go home." Jin says, breathlessly. He grabbed my hand and he brought me to the front door. The Jung comes into the kitchen. "Hey, where are you two going?!" He asks. "Home! Navya doesn't feel well! Sorry!" Jin lied, hoping that his brother doesn't look through him. "Oh yeah! Navya, your allergy is really bad!" Jung says. I was confused. "Allergy!?" I asked. I turned and looked at Jin. His eyes widen as he looked under my face, focusing on your face. "Yeah! Those red rashes on your neck! Wait a minute! Are those love bites?!" Jung asks. I gasp.
I quickly turned to Jin, glaring at him. "Jin!" I said loudly, making him panic. "I didn't do anything! I swear!" Jin says as he held his arms up innocently. "Yeah, you did! Look at my neck!" I said as I showed Jin my neck. "If you didn't put lip gloss on, none of this would've happened!" Jin argued, making me frown in annoyance. "Jin, I told you that-" I said but Jung interrupted me. "Guys! Don't argue! You know what? Just go home and enjoy your evening!" Jung exclaimed, patting Jin's back. "Have fun, you love birds!" Jung said, as made his way back to the living room. "You heard him, Navya! Let's get it!" Jin shouted, making me laugh. We both walk to Jin's van and he unlocks the car. "Let's go to my house. Since it's closer." I say. "Okay." Jin says.
After that, we didn't talk for the rest of the drive. Once we got there, we got out of the car and Jin locked his car. We both went inside and took our shoes off. Then we both went upstairs to my room. "I had fun with you tonight." I say. "Me too. Also, I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't mean to make you angry." Jin says. "It's okay. And I'm sorry that I got mad at you." I say. "So does this mean we both forgive each other?" Jin asks. "Yes." I say. Then we both smile. "Wanna get a snack?" Jin asks. "Yeah, sure. I could use some real food." I say. Jin laughs.
"Me too." Jin says. We both go downstairs and search my pantry. "How about some chips and biscuits?" I ask. "Sounds good." Jin says. Me and Jin both sit at the kitchen counter top and eat our snack. "Mmmm....this is so good!" Jin says while eating. I laugh. "Yeah, it is good! There's cream inside!" I say. "That's even better!" Jin says. I laugh again. "I'm going crazy without sugar. That's why I have so many cream filled biscuits at home." I say. "I guess it's okay to have a little sugar but don't go overboard, Navya." Jin says. "Don't worry. I won't. I don't wanna get a sugar rush!" I say. Then I look at Jin's face and crack up laughing.
"What?" Jin asks. "You have cream all over your lips!" I say. "I do? Oops!" Jin says. "I got it." I say. I use my fingers and wipe the cream off of Jin's lips. Man, his lips were so soft. "Got it." I say. "Okay, good. I'm a little messy when it comes to eating." Jin says. "Yeah, I know. I've seen your Eat Jin videos on V Live!" I say. Then we both laugh. "Jin, you have cream on your lips again!" I say, cracking up even more. "I do?! I'm really messy when it comes to eating!" Jin says. "Don't worry. I have another idea." I say. I get up and give him a kiss on his soft, plump, thick, lips. There's a smooch sound when I let go. "Mmm. Yummy!" I say, licking the cream off of my lips. "Thanks for the kiss." Jin says. I giggle.
"Anytime." I say. After we finish eating, we drink water and go back upstairs. "That was delicious! Thanks for the snacks! Now I can come over whenever I'm craving something sweet." Jin says. "Yep. Just don't go overboard." I say. "Hey, that's what I said to you!" Jin says. I laugh. "It's best if we both DON'T get a sugar rush." I say. "Agreed." Jin says. I check the time on my alarm clock. It was 10:30. "I think you better get going. It's pretty late." I say. "Yeah, I probably should. Again, I had fun tonight." Jin says. I chuckle. "Same here." I say. "Good night." Jin says. "Good night." I say.
We both wave good bye. Jin exits my room. I was just about to change when Jin comes back. "Hey, what's wrong? Did you forget something?" I ask. "No, it's not that." Jin says. "Then what?" I ask. "Come here and I'll tell you." Jin says. Then he extends his hand to me. I put my hand in his hand and Jin pulls me towards him. He puts his hands on my waist and I put my hands around on his neck. "Jin? What are you doing?" I ask. "I just wanted to say that I'm sorry again for what I did." Jin says. "Jin, it's okay. We already forgave each other." I say. "I know but I also wanted to say..." Jin pauses. "Say what?" I ask. "I love you, Navya." Jin says, looking right in my eyes. "I love you, too. Worldwide Handsome." I say, smiling. Jin chuckles. "There's actually a third thing I wanted to do." Jin says. "What's that?" I ask. "This." Jin says.
He then leans in and connects his plump lips to mine. Jin pulls me closer and our bodies touch. I slide my hands up and put my arms around Jin's neck. I suck more of his lips. Then again Jin takes a breath and sucks on my neck. I moan and groan. "Jin...oh my gosh." I say. I must've leaned way too back cause I lost my balance and fell on my bed, with Jin. I couldn't help but say it. "Jin...how are you so good at this?" I say. Jin stands up. "I can be better." Jin says. He then removes his jacket and tie. "Jin, don't! I'm not ready to this yet!" I say. But he doesn't listen. He then unbuttons his white shirt. I gasp and close my eyes. "Jin, for the love of god! Cover up!" I say, blushing.
I was totally embarrassed. "Come on, Navya. Just once." Jin says. "No way!!! I'm not ready to go to the next level! You kissing my neck and giving me bruises is fine, but this, nuh-uh!" I say, still covering my eyes. "At least look." Jin says. "Not until you get dressed back in your suit! My eyes are staying covered until you do that!" I say. "Fine." Jin says. Jin gets dressed. "Can I look now?" I say, after a few minutes. "Yes, you can." Jin says. I take my hands off and see Jin dressed up.
I sigh. "Thank you, now I'm exhausted. You better go home and get some sleep. I'll see you tomorrow." I say, standing up. "Alright, good night." Jin says. "Good night." I say. Jin exits my room. "Oh wait!" I say. "Yeah?" Jin says. I give him a peck on the lips. "Does that make you feel better?" I ask. "Yeah." Jin says. "Well, good night." I say. "Good night." Jin says. Then Jin goes downstairs, puts his shoes on and heads out the door. I go back into my room and close the door. I sigh. "Man! What a night! I better get into my pajamas." I say. I change out of my dress to my pajamas and brush my teeth.
Tumblr media
Then I get into bed. I get under the covers and lie down. I start thinking. "I had so much fun today with Jin! I just love parties! Hanging out with Jin and the other guys was a blast! We all played video games and sang karaoke to their own songs! I'm glad I got a chance to sing! War of Hormone is one of my favorite songs by BTS! Too bad it had to end. Oh well, hopefully tomorrow will be funner. And Jin was literally thinking of taking things to next level. Which I'm not even ready for. I can't imagine how THAT'S gonna feel." I thought. Then I turned off my light fell asleep.

=== TESSIE “TESS” KESADORA ===
“The word freelancer just fits the bill well you know? Not too unprofessional. Not too scary.”
~ Tess
Stories within Zaun tells a tale of a mysterious character – known widely as an ingenious gunslinger. This odd figure moves throughout the many resplendent districts and inky underbellies with vague goal and movement, garnering the attention of many names. While she may be called as a lot of things; beneath her widely known accomplishments that masked her is an unexpectedly kind-hearted quality that could never fit the portrait of a lethal gunman. Her name is Tessie Kesadora. But you can always call her Tess.
  I.                   A DIFFERENT VISION.
Before her skills with a gun was known let alone developed, she came from a family with an unfortunate background. Born and raised in the undercity of Zaun is already terrible enough, Tess’s parents were also unable to support the family adequately forcing them to give up on Tess to be raised by someone more capable than them – her uncle, Jom Kesadora. While Jom was at first, not eager in the decisions of his relatives, he soon realized that with all options at hand, he was the only best one that Tess could have from her parents.
In her introductory years of living with Jom, Tess grew up learning more about her uncle – an excellent craftsman who is not only exceptionally talented but also admirably jubilant; during her hours of chores where she lends a helping hand for Jom, she saw her uncle working with intricate movements that built even more intricate devices, all of which built with both remarkable form and impressive functionality. What Tess witnessed was beauty taking shape, wonderful and purposeful contraptions that are bought and used by the customers of Jom’s workshop; this impression was also similar when she explored Zaun, a gathering of people from many cultures, a dynamic city that seethes with personality and potential. Tess saw wonders and excitement, but Jom saw something else when he looked at his niece: his past regrets.
Underneath Jom’s layer of a joyful craftsman are mistakes and experiences that he wished he had never done in the first place, unknown to everyone and Tess, Jom caught himself in the web of Zaun’s underground activity – trapped in a debt that he owed to too many gangs. He was forced to secretly work under many criminals, providing them with his more lethal creations or simply funding and paying back the money he owed. These questionable and dangerous events only steeled Jom, forcing himself to prepare and train for the worst outcome; it was this part of him that haunts Jom when he sees Tess. He remembered how enthralled he was—just like her—when he takes his first big step into Zaun, only to be greeted by the city’s well-known underbelly; at first, he saw wonders of many possibilities—just like her—but it all now turns into a vision of blighted criminals, lawless society, and a careless “anything goes” attitude.
II.                A GUN IN HER HAND.
This surging reminder gave Jom a new drive, a hope that he wanted to see for Tess; while he believes that it’s too late to redeem himself – the time and opportunity to help Tess was more than plenty, and he’s willing to take it as quickly as possible. Initially, Jom introduced Tess on his ways as a craftsman, to which she eagerly and willingly agreed to learn. Throughout the days Tess was able to create a steady progress and understanding the ways of her uncle’s craftsmanship, she was slowly able to properly create simple devices and even replicating Jom’s collection. It was an organic growth that the two of them carefully nurtured together – and when Tess was finally adept in developing her own works; Jom knew that the time was ripe – to teach her in skills that slowly deviated from their more usual studies. What used to be a study in fixing and building techs suddenly became a practice in creating a plethora of arsenals.
Then came a gun.
All of these new practices of inventing potentially harmful gadgetries to suddenly learning how to use a pistol was enough for Tess to notice the changes that her uncle implemented. The lessons were clearly alien and obviously surprising, she had never known this side of her uncle, a cheerful and kind person, to have these kinds of skills let alone eagerness to teach it to her. The many times Tess asked for a reason her uncle would always explain it as a way for her to “defend herself from danger”, but when she soon grew tired and fed up with the same answer, Jom could only follow suit by telling the truth.
Jom explained everything that must be known to Tess, starting from his past beginnings to his many regretted deeds, Jom showed her his own different perspective on Zaun. He told her that life in Zaun—or rather—Life in general, is never beautiful nor wretched; it stays in a gray area that constantly changes from one place to another. The point of this entire lesson was for Jom to teach and prepare Tess for the coming future, but he has no intention in using her for his own interest, in fact, Jom implored to her that she should never carry his responsibilities and sins – all that he wants from Tess is the skills to take care of herself and the wisdom to understand for herself.
At first, she couldn’t really understand it – as she grew older, Tess began to spend most of her time working under Jom’s workshop as his full-fledged assistant, outside in her personal time she continued to explore Zaun like she always had, though this time something changed within her. Where she would normally have a sense of curiosity in her younger days, she now became more cautious – perhaps this was because of what her uncle taught her – she wasn’t sure. The labyrinth streets where she used to play and run along with other children she came across back then soon felt foggy and lifeless. The crowded Bordering Markets that she would usually see bursts of colours soon felt claustrophobic and crooked. Things that she previously either took for granted or childishly interacted with soon felt weighty and often inauspicious – and all that she could think are Jom’s words.
Has it always been pretty? Has it always been ugly?
III.             A SMILE ON HIS FACE.
In a later time within the household of Tess and Jom, a terrible news soon came without notice. One of the possible worst outcomes, Jom’s greatest fear inevitably caught up to him. A letter from one of his creditors, the Helgar Gang, was sent as a final reminder, stating that they had enough of waiting for their payments and decided to have one last meeting for Jom to make it all up. Expecting the worst, Jom fell into a spiral of his previous self, creating and tangling more webs as he desperately seeks for help from others, promising them a payment as a return, be it money or weapons.
Tess had witnessed a completely different side of Jom, a part that she heard of in his stories. A part that she knew how much Jom despised, finally coming back to haunt him once more. It was unpleasant seeing her uncle be in such a frantic and hopeless state; while he does find success, it was only a few close acquaintances who agreed in helping him as a backup. Uncomfortable with the situation at hand Tess mustered herself to him, volunteering to help against the possible attack; it was a request too much for Jom, but with Tess’s sincere persistence and the situation at hand – he gave a despondent agreement.
In the anticipated day – dead of the night – Jom gazed at the Helgar Gang slowly closing into his workshop while Tess, and others who agreed on helping, hid quietly waiting for Jom’s signal. As the gang leader approached and greeted Jom, the two delved into a talk, discussing on the situation at hand. The conversation started slowly, with Jom carefully persuading and the gang leader swatting down every offer. It only grew into an argument between the two, one moment more heated than before. And then, it happened all too sudden.
She heard a gunshot.
She was too shocked to react, Tess suddenly saw an Augmented beside her jumped out of the cover and returned fire, and soon everyone followed one after another. Tess grabbed tightly to her gun and joined in the fray, taking aim at the first clear enemy she saw and fired at. She remembered seeing both her uncle and the gang leader backed off from each other as if in pain.
Two seconds later, the workshop became a battlefield.
She smelled burning gunpowder with a dash of blood and cauterized flesh.
She heard screams and dissonant percussions.
She saw lights flooding the walls and ceilings.
She felt blank. Slow. Quiet. Suddenly moving on nothing.
The last thing that spurred her back into the moment was a glimpse of her uncle, bloodied and wounded, fighting back against the invading thugs with a gun on his hand as he clenched against everything that was sent against him. What Tess saw pushed her back with determination, a reminder of why she was here in the first place. She recalled the things that Jom taught to her and why: so that she can have the skills to take care of herself, to take care of the things she loved—her uncle—so she tried again.
When the fight pulls into a close, the defense against the Helgar Gang’s assault was a successful one. She finds herself snapped back into the midst of the aftermath; the workshop fell into near disrepair, filled with both the wounded and killed. While the backups tried to settle the situation at hand, Tess quickly searched for her uncle, hoping that whatever she had seen before was just a figment of a dream. What she found, however, was Jom grievously injured, lying down, shivering and breathy, slowly struggling to lean himself by a wall. It was the ugliest thing.
The sight of her uncle compelled Tess to head quickly towards him. Her heart slowly collapsed as she moved closer to Jom, his messy condition becoming unbearable for her to look at. But she saw something on Jom, she heard something – when Jom was able to clearly see Tess kneeling close to him, his breathing became laughter, gritted teeth turned into a smile. He was glad to see that she was alright. It didn’t make sense to Tess, why was her uncle—at his worst condition—pretended to have a happy look for her? Jom said that he wasn’t pretending, and answered, “next to you, a smile is the last thing I have in this world”. Tears streamed down Tess’s face, emotions overwhelmed her. It was the prettiest thing.
  IV.             A FUTURE.
After the incident befell, the workshop was slowly rebuilt and Jom was able to recover; however, it did bring repercussions. Worried that the ghost of Jom’s past would come back for him, he asked Tess for a final favour – a request for her to leave and avoid him as far and long as possible until he has settled all of his matters alone. It was a heavy request for Tess, but she understands and accepted to his request nonetheless – Jom never wanted for his relatives (let alone his niece) to be a part of a problem that he forged on his own faults.
Now standing all alone underneath the city of Zaun, Tess recalled the days and years she stayed with Jom, the lessons that were taught to her. It was an irregular feeling at first being alone and all, but the memories helped her cope – remembering that one smile her uncle made – it gave her a new drive, a new look at the future and Zaun itself. With skills—whether lethal or not—to take care of herself and the wisdom to think for herself, she sets out her own path hoping with a goal to take care of the people and their city; so that they can smile once more.
On the surface, she worked as a capable and independent craftsman. In her free times, she refined her strengths and talents. Spends time to play with the children. Thwart thugs and local gangs. Nurse the elders and even help out with menial tasks for others. She was called by a lot of things, sometimes good and not-so. But you can always call her Tess.

First story- Jemual
Prompt- Drivers licenses are just a social construct.
The brass door dilated open in front of them as Jarom ran out of the university with his hand on Natalie’s wrist almost dragging her behind him, books almost falling out from under her other arm. “Jarom,” she started, “where are- “
“Just wait you’ll see” he replied, excitedly cutting her off. Natalie was exhausted from her classes but Jarom’s enthusiasm was contagious and she couldn’t say no. So, she followed. Her little brother was a genius, the greatest painter and inventor she knew, which was saying a lot because they went to the most prestigious college of art and design in Amedia. He led her to his workshop where he kept all his projects, designs, and paintings.
She was always struck by the Archangel he’d painted sprawling across the ceiling. Fully armored with a sword full of angelic power, one edge blazing with a fire so realistic that its heat could be felt until the other edge covered in ice was noticed sending chills down the spine to the toes. His visage was beautiful and warm, full of mercy, but his eyes held the uncaring cold of justice that demanded to be kept. Natalie dropped her gaze to the many tables littered with his half-finished projects and chuckled, remembering that with equal enthusiasm he had shown her many of them during the three years that they’d been at the university. She saw his beautiful statue of Jemual, the God of Speed, with his legs below mid-thigh left still uncut. She saw his model of the fastest ship in naval history, the Limac, left without a hull but with full masts and sails. As her view crossed over weapons, statues, and machines she glanced at him and saw that he was intently staring at something that was now behind her. She turned around asking “What is it you want to show me little brother?”
“This” he replied pulling the cover of a machine that appeared to her as straight out of a science fiction novel. It was similar to the engine-chariots that most wealthy citizens had in the capital and elsewhere, but something about the design was different. Unique. There was no sign of the wheels anywhere, and normal enchars had the engine almost completely separated from the wagon just like the ancient horse-drawn chariots used by the Telen, but this design was shaped more like a boat. It was a single body instead of two. The hull was about eight yards long and two and a half yards wide. It was made of a sleek bronze with twelve green circles placed evenly on both sides. At the back of the vessel was the engine and a small rocket connected like a tiller.
Natalie stared in silence, overwhelmed by what she saw. “Jarom… how long have you been working on this?” She had come in time and time again to his workshop upon his invitatiation, but not once had she noticed this enchar, if you can call it that, she thought.
“Um… four or six months” He answered his eyes on the ceiling.
“But I’ve never seen it.”
“I worked on it down below. I know you don’t like going down there and I wanted to surprise you.” He still looked a little unsure, waiting for a positive, or maybe negative, reaction from her. Hopefully positive, he thought, still looking up.
“It’s… incredible.” She breathed, “but where did you get the idea, and how did you make it so quickly?”
He looked down at the floor, “You may not believe me, but I had a dream...”
“A dream?” She replied trying not to let the disbelief reach her voice. She knew how much support her brother needed from her. He didn’t care what anyone else thought, but she had once told him that a painting he’d done was too bright and for months he painted everything in subdued and dark tones.
“Yeah… I, uh, had a conversation with… Well, honestly, I don’t know who, but he looked like my sculpture of Jemual. We were walking and he told me to focus for once, to forget my statue and the Limac and instead put my efforts into something that was worthwhile. We rounded a corner and there I saw her. The same enchar. He told me to start working, as soon as I could and that as I worked, I would know what else I needed to do. Suddenly we were flying though the city in the enchar. I was driving and he was by my side. He told me, ‘Remember this feeling. This is your goal and I am your patron.’ Just as suddenly we were in my shop and he told me to look at it for as long as I needed. I studied trying to memorize every nook and cranny, but I knew I wouldn’t get everything. So, I asked how I would know when it was done. And he told me that I would know, and then that I should show you.”
“So, it’s done then?” she said fighting the incredibility that was trying so desperately to show. “And you just… trust this dream you had six months ago?”
“Five months and 7 days.” He quickly responded. “And yes. I do. Because as I began it was true. At each step when I was stuck, I was shown in a brief… vision, I suppose, exactly what was the next step. I took parts from old projects and combined unrelated designs and I saw how to put them together to make her.” His familiar smile spread across his face how it always does when he’s ready to test out a new project, “So… Are you ready for a ride?”
“Jarom! Are you crazy!?” unable to contain her disbelief longer. “This is crazy, I’m sorry but no! Have you gone on test drives before? Do you even know how to drive it? You definitely don’t have a license for a normal enchar. How can you possibly think that we should go for a ride?”
“Look if you don’t want to come that’s fine.” He was seething with anger and got in the enchar. “But I’m going. I’ve spent too long working on this to wait any longer. I spent 17 days alone looking for something, anything that could’ve been missing. But there was nothing, and each day I felt that I just needed to show you. And each day I didn’t was more weight that I was carrying. I’m taking her for a test run and you can come with me or not. It’s up to you.” He put his hand on a green disk to the left of the steering wheel and the workshop filled with the hum of the engine. The green disks began to glow and the enchar lifted off of its supports, settling about three feet above the ground.
“Fine,” She conceded going around to the other side of the enchar, “let me come with you. If this is the maiden voyage though, you need to name your ship.”
“I already have,” he said, pride filling his voice “Her name is Jemuya.”
Natalie’s voice was calm, full of trust for her brother. “You really believe that dream of yours, don’t you?”
“I do. Jemual said he’s my patron. He gave me the knowledge, so the least I can do is honor him.”
“I’m still going to remind you that you’ve never once driven, and you don’t have a license.” She said slightly frowning upon him.
“Don’t worry Nat,” he said, laughing as he drove out of the workshop, “licenses are just social constructs.”
No sooner had he finished his sentence then he opened the throttle, and the rocket’s flame grew to half the size of the enchar. Natalie began screaming with fear, but it quickly gave way to pure joy, as she felt the thrill of feeling the wind in her face and the rushing beat of her heart. “Jom!!! You’re a GENIUS!” She shrieked, laughing afterwards. They left the city and followed the road into the mountains. As they followed the road, Jarom slowed the Jemuya down, floating up the curvy mountain ravine as if it were a river. “You really outdid yourself this time Jom.” Natalie said, the admiration in her voice evident.
“I can’t take the credit.” Jarom said, his voice full of reverence. “The gods were with me. They guided my hands as I worked. I don’t know what else is in store, but Jemual is my patron, and he’ll protect me as I serve him.” Natalie was amazed. Her whole life she had heard the stories of gods and heroes, but to have something like that happen to her little brother, well… She was jealous. She hadn’t believed him because she didn’t want to accept that he’d received a vision and divine guidance when it was something she had searched for her whole life. Especially after Cale, their older brother, died five years ago. Many believed that the ages of gods and heroes were long past, but Cale had never doubted. The people wouldn’t admit it, but the new technologies had replaced the gods for them. And after so much fruitless time searching for the celestials, she had given up hope. Natalie gazed at the night sky as she rode through the ravine with her brother at her side. Jarom guided the boat as if it were time and fate itself. She pondered on everything he’d told her, and that’s when she realized that it was a little more than five months ago when she herself had given up on the gods…

Twin Flames & True Love
Chapter 6: First Date
"Sooyoung-ah, you've been staring at that piece of tissue for forever" her eomma laughed.
She and Ddori will be sleeping at her mother's house tonight. They went shopping for Christmas gifts and it was already 10 p.m. when they got home.
She remembered the note Sungjae left and was contemplating whether to message him or not.
Sooyoung folded the tissue and placed it on the small table in front of her "It's nothing, eomma" she said laughing back.
"Why don't you text him?" Her eomma asked as she take out the gifts from the shopping bag
Her daughter was surprised "Eotteoke arasseo eomma?" She didn't tell her about Sungjae, how did she know that?
"Mianhe, I overheard your talk with the girls. Not that I was eavesdropping but I just couldn't help but hear it." She said, now fixing Ddori's bed, right next the fireplace. She looked at Sooyoung "So why don't you say yes? He seems like a nice guy and he is handsome" she said with a wink.
She's right. Sungjae is kind and easy to be with. She felt safe when she was crying in his arms and he comforted her. She felt happy whenever she sees him but she's scared"But eomma, na museowo." She answered pouting slightly.
"What are you so scared of? It's not like he's gonna bite or something" her mother joked.
"Eomma, I'm serious. What if what the psychic said was not true? And if it is, what if he's not the one?" She slouched on the sofa and her eomma sighed and sat next to her.
Sooyoung looked at her with a wrinkled forehead but her mother just smiled "Do you remember when you were little and your father and I taught you how to ride the bike?"
Sooyoung smiled at the thought of her childhood. Since she was an only child, she was spoiled by her parents but she was very strong and independent. "Ne eomma, I remember when I was getting the hang of it and I suddenly lost balance and fell hard." She chuckled at the embarrasing memory.
"You got big scratches on your legs because you fell exactly on the rocks. I'll never forget that because you cried so hard and it was your birthday party in a few days. You wore a dress with your legs scabbed on your birthday." Sooyoung laughed with her mom, it was indeed just a funny memory now for her. "But do you remember what you did after I treated your wounds?"
She nodded "I rode the bike right after you finished, I think it's because I was getting competitive and I want to ride it with no problems" she paused "and it was fun."
"Yes. The time you learned to ride a bike was one of the times that I've seen you the happiest" her mother now took her daughter's hand in hers.
"You see, ever since you were young, you never let anyone or anything hinder you from doing what you love."
"You were invincible."
Her eyes looked at her mother's with a soft expression "So don't be afraid anymore. Love is not always perfect and the timing might not be always right.
You fall down and get back up.
You got hurt and then try it again.
You love.
Then you get hurt and broken.
But most importantly…" she took the folded napkin on the table and put it in Sooyoung's hand
"You love again."
---
Sooyoung toss and turn wearing her pajamas in bed. She checked the time
"11:40 p.m."
She thought of what her eomma said to her and after several minutes she decided to take and unfold the tissue next to the night lamp and began typing on her phone
:Not really a fan of coffee but anything would be fine, how about Friday? -Sooyoung
She pressed send. Thinking that he might already be asleep, he put her phone under her pillow and then closed her eyes.
After a few seconds, she heard her message tone.
:You have a café but you don't like coffee? Friday sounds good :D
She blushed as she typed her reply
:Not every café owner likes coffee you know and I like tea more, compared to coffee 😁
:Jinja? I only know a few who likes tea over coffee and one is my halmeoni. You have quite a taste of an oldie. Or are you really old and your face age is like half of your real age? 😰
:Yah! I'm only 29 😤 I'm not that old.
:Oh. I'm your oppa then.
:For real? How old are you?
:30 😅
She laughed in bed as she read his reply
:What? You're just a year older
:So? I'm really your oppa. Haha
:Whatever 😛 oh it's already past midnight. Aren't you going to sleep?
:I was about to sleep but your message erupted it.
:Just kidding 😂
:I was actually waiting for you
Sooyoung's heart beat wildly at his last message and she repeatedly read it, thinking of what to reply.
:Now you know my answer 😊 uhm, I think I better sleep now. Got a busy day tomorrow. You should sleep too.
:Okay Sooyoung-ah. See you on Friday. Good night! Jalja~ 😊
:Jalja! See you, oppa~
---
Sungjae rubbed his eyes and read her message again. Did she just called him 'oppa'?
It was only one word but he was flustered. It's a good thing no one can see him. He buried his blushing face in his pillow and wriggle in his body like a worm.
He slept with a big smile, hoping he'll be dreaming of her.
---
Friday came.
Sooyoung's eomma said she shall free her whole day and her mother will take care of the café. She is hesitant to leave her mother because Seungwan is already on her vacation but her mother insisted. She decided to go with it.
Sooyoung didn't bother to look for something different to wear for her date today. She just dressed as usual.
She wore a nude pink knitsweater, put on a white scarf, black tights and boots that reaches just below her knees. She put on light make-up then carried her brown bag and went out.
Sungjae and her agreed to meet at the playground at the park at 4.
When she got there, a man wearing grey inner polo with grayish blue sweater and black coat and denim pants was sitting on the swing. He was waiting for her
He saw her and he waved. Sooyoung walked up to him and he stood up. She looked at her watch it's 5 minutes before 4 p.m.  "I thought i'd be the first one here, but wow you're early"
"Of course! I wouldn't want that you'll be the one to wait." He said as he began to lead the way
"Where are we going?" She asked. They were walking side by side and she can feel him towering over her. She's tall for a girl but Sungjae is really tall.
His smile melts her "You'll see"
---
"neol hyanghan seolleimeul

oneulbuteo urineun
jeo barame noeul bit nae mameul
sireo bonaelge
geuriun maeumi moyeoseo naerineun
Me gustas tu gustas tu
sutuduru johahaeyo
Gustas tu suturu sutu~ru~"
Sungjae got hooked when she sang the first verse. She sang it while looking straight at him and his red ears didn't fail to show. He was enjoying her singing till the las note. Oh how beautiful her voice is.
He took her at a karaoke room. She said she likes singing but does not have the confidence. Sungjae insisted she tries it. She sang, unknowingly making the other person fall for her voice
"I told you, I'm not confident. Singing is not my thing" she said when she noticed that Sungjae was just staring at her
He snapped. It was like he was under a spell when she was singing "Sooyoung-ah. Are you kidding me? I think your cover of me gustas tu is my favorite! You have a beautiful voice" He said in an exciting tone and his eyes are like shooting hearts.
Her cheeks redden at his confession. She tried to change the topic "now it's your turn to sing!" She sat down and he is the one standing now.
"Okay! Annyeonghaseyo Yorobun! This song is dedicated to this lovely woman right here." He said like he is the emcee of an event.
"Wooh! Go oppa! Wooh!" She laughed and screamed like a fangirl would when she's watching her bias group.
"na oneul gobaeghal geoya
geureonikka nal jom dowajwo
meoributeo balkkeutkkaji isanghan ge
issna jom bwajwo
syeocheuga an eoullimyeon niteuro
bakkwo ibgo olkka
eotteohge malhamyeon joheulkka
nega meonjeo deureojwo~"
He began singing. He has a deep throaty voice.
He sings so manly. Even his singing voice is handsome, Sooyoung thought to herself
"Just like you girl Just like you girl neo
malgo tto nuga issgesseo
Girl Just like you girl nega animyeon
an doegesseo
Girl Just like you girl I like you girl
only you girl~.
He bowed like a prince as he finished the song and Sooyoung clapped proudly
"Waah! Bravo! Bravo! Jal haesseoyo" she gave him two thumbs up.
They sing more songs Sungjae even sang Frozen and imitated Anna, they did duets like all for you and marry you
They dance, sing, laugh and have fun together.
Sooyoung plopped on the couch of the karaoke room, Sungjae sat next to her
"I'm hungry, Sooyoung-ah" he whined like a child and
"Nado, I'm hungry" she imitated him and they laughed
They went to a nearby restaurant and ordered teokkbokki, kimchi rice and oxbone soup.
They talk as they ate. About their childhood, families and their careers. When their stomachs were satisfied, they decided to walk.
People are hyped for the Christmas Season. Some are Christmas shopping. Vendors selling hot street foods fill the sidewalks, it's perfect for the winter season. Different colors of lights were dancing as they walked along the pavement.
Sooyoung saw a cute hairpin in one of the vendors selling there. She put it in her hair and turned to Sungjae "How do I look?" She smiled prettily.
"You're always pretty whatever you wear." He said and tucked her hair behind her ear then he turned to the vendor "We'll take this." then paid for it.
Sooyoung is still flustered with what he did. All she can say is "Gomawo" while hiding her pink cheeks.
They continued walking, the back of their hands bumping with each other. "Sooyoung-ah, I want to show you something."
With that, he took her hand in his and they walked a few more until they stopped in front of a building with a big globe on top.
"Planetarium?" She asked unaware that they're still holding hands.
Sungjae nodded "Let's go inside."
Sooyoung was awestuck with what's inside. Models of planets were hanged and there are trivias and facts flashing on several screens.
Information about space, galaxies, and other astronomical bodies are found everywhere. There are also models of spacecrafts and satellites
"Daebak!" She said her eyes popping out. Her hand left his when she touched the models.
Seeing her happy made Sungjae's heart dance "I know you'd say that. Come this is not the only thing I want to show you."
She led her to a big room, more like a function hall. The ceiling was speherical. She guessed that they were inside the globe she saw from outside. There are seats and they are slightly leaned upwards.
There are only a few people inside. It looks like a show will start soon because the ceiling has a screen on it. They sat and someone with a microphone said "Settle down ladies and gentlemen. We are about to start in 2 minutes."
After the said time, the screen on the ceiling lit up. It showed moving pictures of the universe. It's like you are actually in space.
The crowd 'ooh'-ed and 'aah'-ed with amazement. Sungjae looked at Sooyoung. Her eyes were shining, and he knows it's not just because of the reflection of the light.
When the show finished, people started going out of the room but the two stayed.
"You had fun?" He asked looking at her, but she is still looking at the screen. Stars are now displayed, they're twinkling and shimmering. She can see different constellations forming. "It's beautiful. This day is one of the best days of my life." She now looked at him "Thank you, oppa"
He grinned "Whenever I came here, I like to stay here and look at those stars. It's not always visible outside, in the real sky. But I can always see it here." He said looking at the stars
"My halmeoni was one of my favorite people in this world and before she was gone she told me 'if you miss me, just look at the stars and I'll be there, looking back at you, shining and shimmering' and whenever I'm sad, I go here." Sooyoung was touched by what he told her
"I took you to some of my favorite places today. These are my sadness and stress relievers." They are now looking at each other
"When I saw you cry, I've got the feeling that I want to make you smile, just like how you smiled today."
She was speechless. She thought that Sungjae is more than just a pretty face. He is kind and a loving son to his parents and a caring owner to his cat, he is a gentleman and he is her savior.
"Thank you. I am really happy today. Not just because of the places took me to, but because you went to those places with me. I am more than happy right now." Her eyes are almost teary with happiness
He tucked her hair behind her ear, just like what he did earlier
They were holding each other's gaze when Sungjae swallowed and was slowly moving closer to her.
Sooyoung was in a state of shock. Her heart was beating so fast. She prays that he doesn't hear it because the hall is so silent for they were the only ones there.
Their faces are only inches apart now.
Her mind was still debating on what to do until she decided to give in Sooyoung closed her eyes

And when a counter is attached to the end of these numbers (the Native Korean numbers), numbers 1 through 4 change slightly in pronunciation 하나 (hana) 하나 (hana) changes to 한 (han) when something is attached to the number. 둘 (dul) 둘 (dul) changes to 두 (du) when something is attached to the number. 셋 (set) 셋 (set) change to 세 (se) when something is attached to the number. 넷 (net) 넷 (net) changes to 네 (ne) when something is attached to the number -한 살 (han sal) - 1 year of age. -두 살 (du sal) - 2 years of age. -세 살 (se sal) - 3 years of age -열한 살 (yeolhan sal) - 11 years of age. -열두 명 (yeoldu myeong) - 12 people. -스물세 살 (seumulse sal) - 23 years of age.
스물다섯살 입니다seumul-daseotsal imnidaI'm 25 years old. 스물다섯이에요.(seumuldaseosieyo.) I am 25.' 말하고 싶지 않습니다.(malhago sipjji ansseumnida.) 'I prefer not to say.'
27살입니다. (Seumurilgop sarimnida.) I am 27 years old. The basic way to say 27 is 이십칠 (ishipchil) but when you talk about your age, for example 27 years old, you have to use native Korean numbers like in 스물일곱 살 (seumurilgop sal) 27 years old. Not 이십칠살 (ichipchilsal.) Let me pick up some numbers for example if you are 30 year old, you can say 저는 서른 살입니다. (jeoneun seoreun sarimnida.) If you are 20 years old, you can say 저는 스무 살입니다. (jeoneun seumu salimnida.)
where are you from
eoneu naraeseo oasseoyo
어느 나라 사람입니까?” (eoneu nara saram-imnikka?) “어느” (eoneu) means “which.” 나라” (nara) means “country.” What nationality are you?”
어디에서 왔습니까? eodieseo wasseumnikka. Where are you from? 미국에서 왔습니다. migugeseo wasseumnida. I'm from the U.S.A. 멕시코에서 왔습니다. meksiko-eseo wasseumnida. I'm from Mexico. 프랑스에서 왔습니다. peuranseu-eseo wasseumnida. I'm from France. 베트남에서 왔습니다. beteunam-eseo wasseumnida. I'm from Vietnam. 한국인입니다.(hanguginimnida.) 'I am Korean.' in-person 한국 사람이에요.(hanguk saramieyo.) 'I am Korean.' 저 사람은 미국인입니다. (jeo sarameun miguginimnida.) That person is American.
3. 저는 미국사람 입니다. Jeoneun migukssaram imnida. "I am American." 2. (그는) 외국사람 입니다. Oegukssaram imnida. "(He) is a foreigner." 3. 저는 미국사람 입니다. Jeoneun migukssaram imnida. "I am American." 4. 저는 한국사람 입니다. Jeoneun hangukssaram imnida. "I am Korean." 친구가 일본사람입니다. Chinguga ilbonsaramimnida. "(My) friend is Japanese." 내 친구는 중국 사람이에요.(nae chinguneun jungguk saramieyo.) My friend is Chinese. 사람(saram) and 인(in) both mean "person." But the '인' used in 한국인(hangugin) is the Sino-Korean word for "person." So you can add 사람(saram) or 인(in) after the country name to tell people where you are from.
한국 사람입니다. (Hanguk saramimnida.) I am from South Korea. 한국 사람입니다. (Hanguk saramimnida.) I am from South Korea or I am South Korean. So I will just put your country’s name instead of 한국 (hanguk) in this sentence. For example, if you are Chinese, you can say 중국 사람입니다. (jungguk saramimnida.) If you are American, you can say 미국 사람입니다. (miguk saramimnida.) 중국 (jungguk) means China and 미국 (miguk) means America and here we have 사람 (saram) means person. So it really means I am a person of Korea. I am a person of China.
where do you live 어디에 살고 있습니까? eodieseo salgo isseumnikka Where do you live? 뉴욕에 살고 있습니다. nyu-yoge salgo isseumnida. I live in New York city. 서울에 살고 있습니다. seoul-e salgo isseumnida. I live in Seoul. 도쿄에 살고 있습니다. tokyo-e salgo isseumnida. I live in Tokyo. 하노이에 살고 있습니다
서울에 살고 있습니다. (Seoure salgo itsseumnida.) I live in Seoul. So you can put any city’s name. For example, if you are living in New York City, you can say 뉴욕시에 살고 있습니다. (Nyuyoksie salgo itsseumnida.) I live in New York City.
what is your job 어떤 일을 하고 있습니까? eotteon ileul hago itsseumnikka? What do you do? 학생입니다. haksaeng-imnida I'm a student. 회사원입니다. hoisawon-imnida. I'm an office employee. 변호사입니다. byeonhosa-imnida. 교사입니다. (gyosaimnida.) I am a teacher. For example, if you are a teacher, you can say 교사입니다. (gyosaimnida.) or in some way, you can also say 선생님입니다. (seonsaengnimimnida.) I am a teacher. If you are student, you can say 학생입니다. (haksaengimnida.) I am a student.
Hobbies 독서는 제 취미 중 하나입니다. (Dokseoneun je chwimi jung hanaimnida.) One of my hobbies is reading. If you like drawing you can say 그리기는 제 취미 중 하나입니다. (geurigineun je chwimi jung hanaimnida) or just to make it simple, you can say 그리기는 제 취미입니다. (geurigineun je chwimiimnida) which means that my hobby is drawing. 음악 감상을 즐깁니다. (Eumak gamsangeul jeulgimnida. ) I enjoy listening to music. 음악 감상을 (eumak gamsangeul) means listening to music or music listening literally. So you can just put something else. For me, I can say 여행을 즐깁니다. (yeohaeng-eul jeulgimnida.) I enjoy traveling.

So, I honestly think that the scene at the bar is one of the - if not the - best scenes in this ep. And there’s a couple of things going on, and one of them is adorable, but the other is extremely unsettling.
1) I love the naturalness in this scene, and I think a LOT of that is down to Apo. Acting on this show is generally good, but I think he’s far and away the best they’ve got, which probably makes sense, given he’s a veteran actor. I know I’ve said this before, but the way he physically inhabits Porsche is a delight, from the headtouches as he greets both Jom and Yok to the way he flips off Jom and tells him to keep drinking. It feels real, like it’s a real person and not a character on-screen, in contrast to the way a lot of the rest of this ep feels just ... slightly ... mannered, like they’re trying just the tiniest bit too hard? I just. This scene at the bar is so so so well acted, and again, particularly by Apo, and other scenes have a ton to match up to. Nothing feels calculated or scripted or choreographed when Porsche facepalms himself as Yok tries to suss out who he’s in love with. All of the conflicting emotions he’s dealing with are portrayed beautifully without being overacted or overemphasized. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, APO. Also, the interaction is really nice - I get the sense that, yes, this is Porsche’s family - what family he has other than Chay - the family he’s built for himself.
2) This scene goes on my list of receipts for how Vegas is a just a mirror of Kinn, once we get to the Vegaspete storyline. Vegas may literalize the bonds, once he gets Pete into the dungeon for whatever initial interaction we’re going to see, but a little bit I’m breaking out in hives over the abusive aspects that we continue to see in the Kinnporsche relationship. Porsche had to lie and tell Kinn that Yok - the person who’s essentially acting as at least an older sister, if not his mother-figure here - had major surgery in order to be allowed to leave the Major Family home. He’s still being denied his phone, and he has no way to contact the outside world that isn’t monitored. His excuse to Yok is that Kinn is “afraid that I might wander around.” WT actual F? Are you not a grownass person? If one of my friends told me all this about their SO, I would start putting together the emergency stash of documents and money for when they finally decided to leave his ass in the middle of the night with one suitcase and an overnight bag. Yes, these are the rules that the bodyguards agree to, but first of all, Porsche was never able to make a free choice about being a bodyguard, from the moment Kinn literally said “Nice bar you got here, be a shame if something happened to it” like a two-bit gangster, then had a bag put over his head and kidnapped him. Secondly, they are well past being able to pretend that Porsche is just one more name on the roster of the Bodyguard Farm. All of this is creepy enough when it’s how you treat your employees - “your life is mine” might as well be “I own you” - it’s exponentially worse when it’s how you treat your SO. This is why you don’t fuck your boss, and this is why you don’t fuck your employees. I mean, this is not the only reason, but it’s a pretty good one. And all of this is just slipped into this bar conversation in a brief interlude between the unrelenting candyfloss of the rest of this episode, and I’m left wondering how much the show is silently mouthing “HELP ME” at me in the 30 seconds Kinn happens to be looking away.
