sneak peek for the a/b/o fic <33
tw a/b/o, military au, forced prostitution
The man doesn’t bother to sit in his own chair across from you, instead just bending to get out one of the no-doubt expensive cigarettes, and lighting it. The smoke travels in slow, winding circles up to the ceiling as he hums. “Ah, the Omega. Y’ want to buy her?”
“I’d like her returned to my possession with the least amount of scratches when I get back, Sir.”
“We’re in a war.” The man takes a short puff of his cigarette again, before putting his foot onto the chair and leaning in just barely. Dark, grayish eyes narrow. “You can’t pick out playthings at your whim. We have rules about these sorts of things.” The ash goes into the overfull ashtray, before those irises find you where you’re still slumped in the too-big chair.
Almost amused, he lets out a bit of air through his nose, before punctuating his words with another drag. “Higher ranks get first picks, but if you’re gone, you’ll have to share. She looks healthy, young. Girls like that go for a lot of money these days.”

⌕ [ ring ring ] — e.kirishima !
“uh— what are you doing?”
y/n took a deep breath, positioning her body so that she can look under the couch. “i lost my ring.”
mina tilts her head. “you wear a ring?” she asks.
y/n hums as she sits up, slapping her hands on her thighs lightly. “ei gave it to me,” she pauses, looking around her once more. “ei gave it to me and it’s uh, it’s a promise ring, and- and i lost it somewhere.”
“oh,” mina whispers, “do you want me to help?”
y/n nods frantically, crawling towards the chair in front of her and looking under that as well.
mina nods and gets down on her knees, looking under the couch opposite of the first one.
“do you remember the last place you had it?”
y/n sighs, squeezing her eyes shut. “i .. i had it when we watched the- the spider-man movie? uh, i don’t know, may- maybe after that? in my dorm?” she says, voice shaky.
mina stops what she’s doing and crawls over to y/n, slowly bringing a hand up to rub her back. “it’s ok, y/n. we’ll find it, and it’ll all be ok, yeah?”
y/n nods, wiping her nose on her sleeve.
mina smiles softly. “ok. so, let’s tell kirishima, and—”
“no!” y/n cuts her off quickly. “we can’t tell eijirou!”
“can’t tell eijirou what?”
the two girls whip their heads around to look at the redhead standing behind them. his smile slightly falters as he sees the tears in y/n’s eyes.
mina shoots a look at y/n, who’s still staring at eijirou with wide, teary eyes.
“she..” the girl starts, but stops when y/n looks at her frantically. mina sighs, putting a hand on top of y/n’s. “it’ll be ok, i promise.”
“mina .. what’s going on?” eijirou asks, smile long gone and replaced by a small frown.
y/n takes a deep breath and looks down at her hands. “i lost the ring you gave me.” she says quietly.
eijirou is quiet for a moment, and y/n panics. she stands up and goes to stand in front of him. “i didn’t lose it on purpose! i promise! i took it off to cook that one night we watched spider-man and i- i .. lost it.”
“of course you didn’t lose it on purpose, love,” he says with a smile. he pulls her into a hug and takes a deep breath. “i totally thought you were gonna tell me that you were breaking up with me.”
y/n lets out a laugh. “ei, let me go; i’m getting snot on your hoodie.” she says, pushing away from his chest.
“i couldn’t care less, y/n,” he pauses. “let’s look for your ring, ok? it couldn’t have gotten too far away.”
y/n nods and looks around once more. something shiny under the kitchen counter catches her eye.
“oh, hello, ring.”
eijirou watches her skitter into the kitchen and pick up the ring, slipping it on her finger.
“idiot,” he whispers with a smile.

WELCOME HOME JULY 2023 UPDATE SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Most of us have seen the secret “staff only” page by now, but there’s one little detail I haven’t seen discussed yet. Just above the image slideshow, there is text from one of the WHRP team members that reads:
“I keep getting phone calls, now. Or at least, I assume that's what's happening. I keep hearing it ringing. All day, sometimes. I check my phone and there's no new messages. I thought maybe some of the site staff were pranking me, but I tore up the workspace and couldn't find another phone that might be ringing. All that was there were the toys for the exhibit, and obviously those couldn't be ringing. But I kept hearing it anyway. The phone ringing and ringing.
The more I work, the more questions I have. Why didn't any of the site staff I worked with remember this show? Even the ones who grew up in the 70s? Why can't I find any files on the Playfellow Workshop? Why isn't there a single TV guide ad saying what network or time the show was on? I keep digging and digging. I've poured over every recovery the WHRP has given me access to, every inch of their website, and the things I find make less and less sense. If I didn't know better I'd say everyone was coming together to pull an elaborate prank on me.
I can still hear the phone ringing now.
I don't know how to answer the phone.
I need to answer the phone.”
But what I haven’t seen anyone else talk about is the blacked out text layered over it. This right here:
After a long and rather tedious process of isolating the blacked out text from the easily highlightable text beneath it, I’ve finally got the message that’s been blacked out. The blacked out message reads as follows:
“Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring-ring. Ring. Hello? Can you hear me? Call back soon, please.
Ring. Ring ring. Ring. Won't you please pick up?”
Wally is calling and he REALLY wants to talk.
