How to recover from gambling addiction?
How to recover from gambling addiction?
There is an epic in India called Mahabharata. In that story the Pandavas are the protagonists. There are five Pandavas(brothers).Kauravas are the villains.Hundred Kauravas (brothers).Dharma is the eldest of the Pandavas. He is considered to be the God of Justice. One day Dharman is invited by the Kauravas to gamble with intrigue. Both men are gambling one day. It was Sakuni who made the instrument…

beer killed my father . he had a disease which destroyed his body and strained his relationships with his wife, his friends, and his children. Alcohol destroys everything it touches, theres a reason you see so many liquor stores in poor neighborhoods. don’t be fucking obtuse. Prohibition obviously doesn’t work, but I wish alcohol was taxed higher. And i want the CEO of Heineken on the guillotine right after Jeff Bezos.
before anything, i want to let you know that i am incredibly sorry about your father. alcohol has decimated entire generations of my family, played a crucial role in the neglectful family structure i spent the first 19 years of my life suffering under, + played a minor but not insignificant role in my brother's death. i would never undermine or dismiss that in anyone.
i used to feel very similarly to you, in large part because my mother is a recovering alcoholic who raised me to believe that alcohol is a magic poison which turns people into monsters + i, being her child, probably inherited a disease which would also turn me into a monster if i chose to drink. it's a deeply painful + understandable response to the pain that alcohol can cause.
my first question is, does alcohol really "destroy everything it touches"? are there not millions of people who engage with alcohol, in varying degrees of recreational use, who experience minimal or no negative impacts? or do you believe that everyone who drinks alcohol in any capacity is experiencing severe destruction in their lives as a result? does the existence of people for whom alcohol enriches their lives (or is a neutral presence) at all invalidate your experience, or your father's?
my second question is, you've identified that there are 'so many liquor stores in poor neighborhoods' (i would add there is a lot of alcohol in rich neighborhoods, just distributed in less stigmatized ways, like boutique wineries + fancy bars), do you think that companies are strategically attempting to create alcohol dependencies among poor people, or do you think that poverty creates the pain, hopelessness, + desperation which can fuel an alcohol habit (which is then exacerbated by intergenerational trauma + community alcohol culture).
i feel no allegiance to liquor companies- they absolutely do make the bulk of their profits off of people who are drinking in a way that is destroying their lives (unsure if i trust the exact scope of the research in that link but i trust the gist). however, liquor companies love the disease model, because it exempts them from responsibility. if alcoholism is truly a genetic disease, then liquor companies, bars, package stores hold no fault in the development of destructive drinking habits + community norms (natasha Schüll discusses this in her book about gambling addiction)- the people were already sick + would be getting it somewhere else, anyway, right? but as you have correctly identified, liquor companies help create the structures which turn alcohol use into an accessible + normalized mode of self-destruction.
my third question is, will taxing liquor help the real problem? yes, it reduces alcohol consumption, but does it reduce addiction? or does it make cheapskates like me say "i'm not fucking paying for that" while individuals who consume alcohol compulsively either eat the cost or turn to more illicit ways of obtaining alcohol. or, rephrased, is the problem that alcohol is too accessible? is alcohol a magical poison which turns 'normal' people into 'alcoholics'? alternatively, is alcoholism a genetic condition, unrelated to any outside circumstances, which is triggered by drinking?
or: is alcoholism one of many ways in which people who are experiencing hopelessness, pain, grief, poverty, trauma, etc use to numb themselves, harm themselves, + make life feel more bearable? at this point, i do believe there is at least a temperament factor which makes people more likely to use substances over other forms of escape (hence why my brother used substances while i turned to anorexia + do not struggle with substance use). are we actually addressing the problem if we make it more expensive (thus, mind you, further impoverishing people with alcohol addictions!)? or are we shifting the pain these people are experiencing to either other avenues (opioids, other drugs, totally different ways of coping which are often just as destructive) or an unregulated, underground alcohol market.
the way you are viewing alcohol, alcohol is a unique substance which is manufacturing or feeding illness in people in order to make them behave in ways which destroy their lives + the lives of others. the way i am viewing it, alcohol is a presence which can fill a void that is being created in people's lives as a response to structural, communal, or social suffering. when alcohol is painted as the cause of this pain, we are able to look the other way from a which world is structured to cause an immense amount of people to suffer needlessly. at the same time, the common sense observation that many of us engage with alcohol in ways which do not destroy our lives, as well as the knowledge that prohibition does not work, prevents the erasure of alcohol from public or private life.
who benefits from the belief that alcohol is a uniquely corrupting substance? what lessons did we actually learn from prohibition- is trying to do it to a lesser degree (make alcohol less accessible) actually going to do anything? when the price of opioids went up due to dea crackdowns, did people stop buying opioids or did the market flood with cheap + deadly fentanyl? is the problem that people are drinking or that they are suffering?

Unpopular JJK opinion.
If I die in flames for this, I may as well die standing. Fanon Toji is just wrong. Like- that's not him.
Walk with me-
First and foremost to remind y'all:
Toji was abused for much of his life growing up, and likely never recovered from that
Mamaguro is the first and only woman he loved, the one who changed him and made him better. His habit afterwards and likely before was to just go from rich woman to rich woman to get money. It's unsaid if he had relationships with them, but it's more likely he just did jobs for them in between assignments.
He has a gambling addiction, likely because it gave him a sense of choice and control over things in his life. He wanted to feel like he could win at something, if not at being loved and revered by the Zenins. He is not addicted to money itself, or frugal about things.
While not THE BEST father, he only wanted to have Megumi given to the Zenin Clan because he believed he would be treated better and thrive there. Living in luxury and adored for your cursed technique is better than living with a non-sorcerer who struggles to keep money. Hell Megumi is NAMED Megumi because he's a blessing.
Now that that is out of the way, here is the unpopular opinion part. TOJI IS NOT THE LOVER YOU ALL WRITE HIM TO BE! HE'S NOT SOME KINKY DADDY WHO WILL DEGRADE AND BULLY YOU OR STEAL YOUR MONEY. And now I will explain why- 1. By example of Mamaguro, Toji notably softened and let go of bad habits. Yes, including his assassin job and gambling (so no worries about him stealing money). If in fanfic we're writing that he loves you, then yeah, he's gonna be a sarcastic sweetheart. Probably teases you a lot, but still cares and makes effort to show it.
2. As a man who worked a job as a literal assassin, I highly doubt he would want to ever be rough in intimate settings. He wants to keep the violent sides of himself as FAR AS POSSIBLE away from those he loves. So no rough kinky stuff, sorry. He's not gonna consistently degrade you or leave rough marks and bruises from grabbing and tossing you around in bed. He wants you safe, and not to see the man he was before.
3. As a man who was abused, he will likely be polarizing at times. Sometimes he avoids touch, and other times he's all over you asking for attention. He will want comfort, care, and gentle touches. Like the biggest lap dog you've ever seen. Please just compliment him, kiss him and hold him, he needs the reassurance. Or give him his space, and let him be but don't forget to offer something to cheer him up (like meat and offal).
4. He can be VERY bitter, but not overly angry. We know he still has a deep grudge against the Zenin clan and jujutsu society as a whole. It wouldn't be uncommon to see him possibly seething and stewing in silence, or hold more grudges. That being said, they likely wouldn't be held against you (if he loves you). He's cool and level-headed, and rarely lets emotion get the better of him (save for combat).
Thanks for coming to my TED talk, I care too much about characters.

aventurine x fem! reader
warnings: boss x secretary, VERY out of character, reader is tired of avens gambling addiction
this is my first post here and also my first time trying to write something in english that isn't for school, so sorry if there are mistakes. hope someone likes it!
Tumblr media
Many times you regretted picking up this job.
It was the 10th missing call you left to Aventurine. As always, he didn't picked the phone.
Sighing, you got up from your confy bed. You didn't even bother to change to proper clothes, judging by the time, almost 3 am, everyone at the casino would be too drunk to notice some girl walking in there in sleeping clothes. Your priority right now was to take Aventurine out of there and go back to your confy bed.
After a short ride in your car, you got in that demonic place. The bright lights were blinding you. You really hated casinos.
You didn't have to search too much to find the man you were looking for. A fight in the poker table was the only necessary hint you needed to find your boss. When you reached the scene, it was the same as always: some looser that doesn't accept his bad luck.
"There's no way you won five rounds in a row!" a guy shouted while holding the little peacock of your boss by the shirt collar.
This always happened, and you always appeared to save him from a beating. But this night you were tired, tired of all the paperwork he gave you last minute, tires of staying up because he didn't want to pick his fucking phone, tired for having to take the car at 3 am and tired of seeing the same scene every freaking night.
He saw you behind the guy, and a proud smile appeared on his face, thinking that you were going to save him like always. You could see his face change when he saw the guy holding him and you not moving to stop him. In your mind, this would be a good lesson for him to stop his bad habits.
Then, the first punch came, making his glasses to fly away of his face. That was the fact that changed your decision of not doing anything. With his eyes exposed to the angry looser, what you expected that was going to be some punches was going to turn into another thing beyond a game.
"A damn Avgin, I knew you were a liar!" he said. You could see your boss looking for you while trying to recover from the punch.
"I'm gonna beat you so hard that you-" he stopped talking to scream in pain from your sudden grip on his arm.
"He what, little fucker?" You encouradged him to continue. Aventurine was suddenly at your side, with that horrible proud smile again in his face.
After giving the guy a little warning to never mess up with your boss, you let him go.
"For a moment I though you were going to let me on my own" he joked.
"I was" you simply said, getting out of that damn place. You knew he would follow you.
"What?!" he shouted, stopping you in the hall of the casino "Why would you let that man beat me up? You know that if I'm dead, you won't be paid, right?"
Before speaking, you took a long, long breath, so you wouldn't scream at him.
"In my contract there's nothing about saving my boss at 3 am in casinos" you breathed again ", there's nothing about risking my own life to save him from fights." you didn't breathe this time "Do you know how much I sleep beetwin finishing the work that you give me in the last minute and searching for you?! For the love of the Aeons, I'm a secretary! I shouldn't be beating people up for you!"
You didn't notice, but you started crying in the first sentence. And you wouldn't notice if he didn't wipe the tears at your cheeks. You were too angry to let him touch you, and tried to push him away, but he got close again and hugged you. This time, you just accepted the hug, but didn't hug him back.
"I didn't know I was causing you so much stress and trouble," he whispered in your ear "I'm sorry for everything"
"Being sorry isn't enough"
"I know, just as you know that I can't promise you to stop gambling" he separated from you to see your face, and took off his jacket to put it over you (you didn't realise you were trembling) "but I can promise you that I'll try to control myself"
You didn't reply, just buried your face on his neck and hug him.
"When I started working with you and saw you risking your life like it is nothing, I wonder if you knew what self-love is" you asked, holding him tighter
"Why would I care about risking my life when no one cares?"
"I'm gonna kill you" you broke the hug and prepared to beat him.
"Wait wait wait, it's not the same as what I mean" he got away from you "you only care because I'm your boss"
"You little..." you breathed to calm yourself down "If i only cared about you professionaly, I wouldn't go to casinos in the middle of the night in sleeping clothes only to look for you and make sure that you're okay. You don't pay me enough to do all that shit"
He seemed to think about what you said.
"Do you mean that you do that because you care about me?"
He looked at you like he just had discovered a whole new galaxy.
"Yes"
"In a loving way?"
"Maybe, can we go now?" you started to get embarassed of all this sudden confession.
"Wait" he holded you, one hand in your arm and other on your cheek "That means that I can kiss you?"
You easily got away from his hold.
"Yes, but not tonight" you started to go to your car, taking your keys to open it "You won't get a kiss until you return every missing call that I left you this week"
"Oh, common!" he run after you, unable to hold back the genuine smile that appeared in his face.

I really went out of character but hope that someone likes this.

PAC; How can you heal your financial trauma?
Pick a pile (1-5)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
*Sorry for any grammatical/spelling errors.
PILE ONE
Cards; 9 of wands reversed, The Devil. Pile one you are worn out. You're tired and exhausted and have been working on something for a while but it's draining you. The situation was not even clear, you were just keeping at it because you didn't know what else to do. "I've always done it this way so I should continue, people have always done it this way so it should work for me too." You've been turned this way and that way and you're mentally exhausted too. This is your trauma. The society you grew up in and the people in your family. There's the energy of always having to work hard to earn money. Struggling for money. You can't allow yourself to rest, and when you break down from the pressure and burden of it all you berate yourself for that too. Advice for you is to give into temptation, allow yourself to be seduced by your inner desires; get to know them, get to understand them and get to know what it feels like to loose yourself to the sensations and not think about anything else at all. If it feels not only exciting and new, but dangerous and downright scary because it's something you've never done before, It's the right thing to break you out of this shell. You need to get to know yourself and who you are instead of the worker bee you've been made to live as. Also something sexual related is coming through, work on your dark feminine, seductive energy. If you are interested in human design you may be a generator or manifesting generator. Inner change and alchemisation. Find out what you like by trial and error; obviously don't do anything too rash/dangerous that you would never be able to recover from. This trauma may also be affecting your relationships(you may have relationship issues) There's such a strong and intense energy(I feel like I cant even breathe) in this pile, I think if you find a away to channel your energy into whatever it is you really want to do, you could be unstopable. Symbolism : Webs; spiderwebs, preying mantis, carnivourous plants, birds, aries, mars, pentagram, occultism, galaxy.
PILE TWO
Cards; The Devil, Knight of Swords. Pile two you often get lost in your head. You find yourself indulging in fantasies and creating this safety net of illusion and comfort meanwhile you're not taking any action. I feel like you may accumulate and hoard business ideas that you see on tiktok/youtube/social media or tell yourself that you can do this and that but never take any tangible action. Gambling addictions and small expenditures that add up, you're not being honest with yourself about your financial situation and money is controlling you so much more that you would think. That's your truama, that money is such a big influence in your world and you don't even know it. You're being hypnotised and controlled by money, its sneakily around the corner influencing your decisions and you don't even know it. Worst of all is that its causing you so much anxiety and you've learnt to just live with it. I'm sorry if I'm being too harsh, but the words have to come out. It's not completely your fault, it only becomes your fault if you're aware of the pattern and choose to ignore it. I'm not getting too much about the source of this trauma but it seems it doesn't even have one exact source. It's more a product of living in the world we are in right now, maybe social media. Do some research about consumerism. Minimalism might also be beneficial for you. Try to discern if you trully want something or you've just been influenced. The way to heal this trauma is to cut through the haze with clarity. It's time to make plans, write down your goals and cut through the illusions to the core of yourself and what really matters to you. It's a time to be logical .There are actions that you have to take that you've been putting off. There's a deep fear inside you of not living up to your dreams/expectations. Take it slowly and start wih small steps. It's like wading through murky muddy water and then suddenly breaking through the water into crisp and cool air. Try to do a cleanse of the uneccessary things that you have let accumulate in your mind or even just clean your home. If you have a goal that feels too big and scary break it down into small steps. You can do so much more than you think you can, and make a bigger impact in your own life than you would ever believe. But you have to start somehwere. Symbolism; clear waters, rivers, lakes, sunflowers, light blue.
PILE THREE
Cards; 10 of cups reversed, 6 of wands. Pile three you have a dream. Something that you've always secretely desired but it just never felt like you could get it. It could be a happy family of your own, innocence in life etc. It feels like you've been the mature one from a young age, someone who had to grow up too fast. You may be an orphan/ lost a parent at a young age or you could have simply had a desire for a family from a young age. A desire for strong emotional connections with people. Your trauma with money is not so much connected with money but other people/ the world in general. You understand that money is a tool that can be used to put you in the right situations to get what you want. You view money as a safety net and may get panicky/ stressed/ emotional when you think you are running out out of it. You may be a man and believe that you cannot find love if you are not financially stable.(specific message). To heal this you have to believe that you can get what you desire even without money. You are someone who is charismatic, energetic, level headed and you have leadership qualities overall. You have to be optimistic in your outlook. You need to shift your perspective to heal your financial trauma. You have to believe that no matter what your financial status, you are deserving of love and affection. Of true connection and whatever it is you may desire. You could have imposter syndrome and over criticise yourself. You need to look in the mirror and have appreciation for who you are , what you have, and what you've made of yourself till now. Symbolism; moustaches(?) , fast paced cities, mountains, cancer(the sign), scorpio, capricorn, clover.
PILE FOUR
Cards; 6 of wands, The Fool reversed. Pile four you may be too arrogant when it comes to money. You may love to overspend and show off to your friends because this pumps up your ego. You feel you deserve nice things and may actually have the background to support your spending habits but this attitude won't help you forever and this is kind of your trauma. How other people perceive you based on your money. You are scared of being taken advantage of based on your money or people misunderstanding you and assuming things about you. You're always aware, always on the lookout. Despite being emotionally secure, other people's opinions and actions still impact your emotions greatly. To be honest, you need to be careful and start managing your finances and planning for your future. It may not always be so assured and abundant for you. To heal this trauma you need to put measures in place. Cultivate a feeling of safety as well as educate yourself in terms of financial matters so you are prepared incase of any windfall. You should also get to know yourself so that you may regulate and curb on your reckless spending habits and also avoid situations that money may not be able to get you out of. You may also be craving true and sincere friendship, and this will come to you as you work on yourself more and go down a path of self development. It may be beneficial to you to get a mentor/someone you can learn from. Symbolism; Gold, glasses, braces, spiders, knifes, eyes, peacocks, green.
PILE FIVE
Cards; Death reversed, 7 of Cups. Pile five you have a tendency to hoard money. Money has become a self fulfilling need for you and it's difficult for you to spend money or exchange it because it only registers as a depletion. As a loss. This is how your trauma shows up for you. It may go so far as you not even spending money on yourself because you feel it's unecessary. For example on something like a parfume or deodorant, or a type of food. Only eating the cheapest foods, wearing your clothes until they're falling apart because you just can't bear the thought of spending money on new ones. What you dont realise is that you are putting money above yourself. Money is more important than you so you would rather deny yourself for the sake of money. To preserve and uphold it. This is an issue with self worth and can permeate more areas of your life than you may think. Are you the type to brush away your problems? "It's not that bad so I can live with it." What you dont realise is that you are making life harder for you, accumulating stress and hardships that are completely unecessary. To heal this trauma you have to acknowledge that you have needs. Your quality of life can improve so much by making small changes; buying clothes that make you feel confident, eating food that delights your senses, using products that make you feel beautiful, fixing something around your house that could make your life so much easier. You dont always have to do things that hard way or deny yourself pleasure just to save some money. Allow yourself to have wants, to express your needs and use money as a tool to enrich your life. Symbolism; Glass bottles, slippers, sunsets, fish.
That's it! Thanks for participating in this pick a card reading. If anything resonated, please dont hesitate to give feedabck it's always so lovely to hear and motivates me quite a lot to continue posting. :)

Based on this art by vivalski
Eddie couldn't believe his luck. Well, luck might not be the best word. He was still a wanted man. Hawkins was still recovering. And he needed blood to live. Not the best situation to be honest. But when that oh so vital resource came from Steve Harrington himself... It's just good to look at the positives.
Eddie had been sustaining himself with blood bags every few days from the clinic but one day Steve offered himself and he never looked back. Sometimes he thought about lying about his thirst just to get his lips on his skin.
Unlike most lore would left you believe though, he didn't go for the neck. Such distinct bite marks would be too noticeable. So most times Eddie bit from Steve's arm. Still, even that felt intimate. Especially when their eyes met during. Eddie tried to keep his gaze away for the most part, focusing on what he was doing so he didn't get lost in it and end up draining Steve. But it was impossible to never look at him.
Eddie swore there was one time Steve looked just as gone as he was. There was no way. Eddie was getting drunk off the fine wine of his blood. Steve was getting leeched off of by a parasite.
Then one day Steve asked a question that knocked him flat on his ass.
"How come you never bite my neck?"
Eddie had been about to drink from his wrist, sitting comfortably on Steve's bed when Steve brought it up. In true Eddie fashion, he didn't just come out and say the real reason.
"You want a hickey from me that bad?", he flashed a grin.
Steve's expression pinched a little, the way it usually did when Eddie flirted playfully at him. "That's just how vampires always do it. Never heard of them getting blood from an arm."
"And you're a vampire expert?"
"I think at this point I can say I know more than the average person, yes. So, how about it?"
Eddie swallowed. "How about what?"
"Keep up, Munson. I'm saying you should try my neck. Maybe the blood is better there. It's closer to my heart and everything. Maybe it's fresher?"
Eddie's brain stopped working because Steve was pulling his hair away from his neck. Vampires were supposed to be the charismatic ones, seducing their victims and having them lose themselves in pleasure. Roles always reversed themselves with him and Steve. He was the one losing himself. Steve was the badass monster slayer.
"Well? Come on, bite me."
Eddie leaned in and once he was in Steve's space, he paused. The blood under his skin smelled good, but so did the man himself. Eddie's eyes fluttered shut as he finally closed in and sank his teeth into his neck. Steve let out a small sigh.
Finally.
Steve had made a gamble. But given his evidence this had probably been his most educated guess ever. At first he thought Eddie was just addicted to blood; that he made those expressions of want with anyone who might feed him. But when Steve had been unavailable, Eddie had taken sips from both Jonathan and Argyle. He didn't start looking at them like he wanted to devour them.
His pulse raced a little as he felt Eddie's lips move against his skin. That was probably for the best. Getting more blood into his system. Steve started to stroke Eddie's hair, which made Eddie loose a little moan, which made Steve release a gasp as he felt the vibrations.
It felt like the most sinful of feedback loops. Steve could feel some blood beginning to drip down his neck and usually Eddie didn't waste a drop but maybe it was too much to gulp down are Eddie was getting used to the angle and flow because Steve could feel more streaming down.
When Eddie pulled back, he was panting and Steve saw the mess of blood around his lips and knew his throat must look the same.
"Shit, sorry. Do you need a towel-wait, of course you do." Eddie was about to move off the bed when Steve grabbed his arm.
"Just lick it."
Eddie froze like he was speaking Russian.
"Didn't your uncle teach you not to waste any food? You can get me cleaner than any towel."
"Y-yeah, I can do that." Eddie couldn't believe what Steve was offering him. It wasn't just his neck, some of the blood had dripped down to his chest. Steve was even pulling his shirt down to keep it from being stained.
"Alright", Eddie said before licking his lips. "Just tell me if it's too much." Wasting no time, he cupped the back of Steve's head and dove back in, licking at the mess he'd made. Eddie was thorough, and he took his time. He wanted Steve to be spotless by the time he was done.
Steve considered this gambit a huge success. But in this instance he couldn't quit while he was ahead. He needed to go all in. He wanted more. He needed to know if Eddie wanted more too. Steve grabbed his face with both hands and before Eddie could think something was wrong, Steve kissed him.
Maybe a little venom got into him or maybe he was just under the influence of the man before him but somehow the flavor of his own blood tasted good on Eddie's lips.

" anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new. " - albert einstein.
𝐒𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐄𝐒' 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | As a veteran AR60 player of Genshin Impact, you pride yourself as someone who knows the ins and outs of Teyvat, even studiously completing Spiral Abyss every reset, and having 100% exploration to some, if not all, of the released regions so far. Everything is fun and enjoyable, especially since Sumeru just recently debuted so you still have a lot to do!
All that ends though, when a mysterious passerby pushes you off the building of your university while playing Genshin. But instead of meeting your inevitable end, you find yourself waking up in the very world you were addicted to!
It's supposed to be a fun dream, right? Something you could laugh at when you wake up? Right?! So, why is that you were back in AR1 with nothing but a dull blade in your inventory?!
…well, at least you still have those 700+ sunsettias and mints, Timmie's fowls…and surprisingly similar game mechanics you used to merely see on the screen before. But what should you do now? Flirt with the Genshin men??? Good lords...
"Welcome to Genshin Impact, Dreamer. Here, we can show you a happier ever after you've never had before…so, ready?"
𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐒𝐔𝐌𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐘 | In which you choose to do the World Quest that requires you to meet Cyno, the General Mahamatra himself that leads to a more confusing and maybe…a bit more hopeful ending?
𝐂𝐖 / 𝐓𝐖 | Cursing, Cyno threatening you, mention of injuries but nothing too graphic, spoilers to Sumeru Archon Quest and maybe spoilers in general shskaha. No beta we die like teppei so you would def see grammatical errors. Let me know if I missed anything <3
𝐖𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄𝐒 | I think this route will probably be my most favorite of them all xD probably because Cyno and Tighnari are here lmao. Reblogs and comments are appreciated!

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Try as you might to resist the temptation of primogems, your will is as weak and soulless as your AR1 account. Though you didn’t know if the Wish System here works the same as the one in your game, it wouldn’t hurt to be prepared just in case. Plus, you were really curious to see what the General Mahamantra looked like in real life. Tighnari himself looked so real and so unlike his 3D self, so you choose to accept the World Quest that popped out of nowhere.
Although your caretaker didn’t seem to agree with you in the slightest. “No,” he simply said with a slight frown before tugging you down to the bed when you tried to stand. “You still haven’t fully recovered, you lummox. And you can’t be serious in meeting that man looking…like that.”
The therianthrope then gave a brief glance at your clothes before rolling his eyes. When you looked down, you realised you were still wearing your school uniform. And so unlike how these Sumeru—or even any of the Genshin—characters intricately dressed themselves. You won't even pass as a scholar of Academia even if you say so with your getup!
It was as if Tighnari was telling you 'you would look even more suspicious in the eyes of the General Mahamatra if you meet him as you are now'. But, no! First of all, you are a certified Cyno simp, and second, you need to do the World Quest for Freemogems. You knew Tighnari was worried you might do something stupid to incur the General's ire, but if you remember Cyno’s lore in-game and how between his reputation and his own personality as what others believed greatly differs, you choose to make a gamble.
Tighnari was probably thinking you were some sort of mad scholar that Cyno was hunting or some random madman, but you knew better. Afterall, you were nearly certain Cyno wouldn't hurt you (since you weren't even a Sumeru scholar or anything that broke the rules) so he probably won't bat an eye on you that much. He would be suspicious, yes, but you have to convince them that you mean no harm.
Yeah, that's a plan! You braved yourself, excited at the prospect of meeting one of your favourite characters.
“By the way, Tighnari,” you called him, suddenly remembering something important that you should’ve asked him earlier. “Do you know the….uh, Traveller? The outlander?”
He gave you a puzzled expression. “If you were talking about yourself, then yes, I suppose I know you just now. However, judging from your expression, you were referring to a different person, no?”
You blinked, inching close to him. “I mean, the Traveller! You know…the Honorary Knight of Mondstadt? The Hero of Liyue? Swordfish Captain of Watatsumi Island? First Sage of Buer?...Seriously?!”
“Who in the name of the Seven are you talking about?”
Judging from Tighnari’s genuine confused expression, he really has no idea who you were referring to. Which means…“Holy shit…the game hasn’t started yet,” you almost choked at this realisation.
But if the Mondstadt Archon Quest hasn't really started yet, does this mean that the Traveller was still trapped in their sleep? Or it's possible that Paimon was still teaching them speech at this time? Tighnari himself is already a Forest Watcher, which means that this timeline isn't that far from the start of the game. Right?
Plus, Cyno looked like he's still the General Mahamatra, in contrast to his self-exile during the Sumeru Archon Quest. Meaning, it was possible that he was still loyal to the Academia rules and its Sages, and if he does have his suspicions now regarding the Grand Sage…
Good lord. This would be more difficult to handle.
First things first, you need to meet Cyno and follow the Quest Chain. Hopefully, these random quests that popping in your Quest Menu would lead to something that could help you go back to your world.
Well, who am I kidding? Even Hoyoverse themselves said they don't plan to have an endgame yet. You scoffed.
Anyhow! Onto the Quest!
It was truly a Spartan feat for you to convince Tighnari that yes, you were fine now, and yes, you wanted to go out of this confinement and meet the man of your Quest. He even becomes frighteningly insistent that you stay in bed for a few more hours but eventually, it was all thanks to an NPC Forest Ranger whose name you can't remember calling out to him that gave you the chance to escape by diving through the door.
While Tighmari was certainly faster and physically stronger than you are, your will and determination to get the primogems and meet Cyno is stronger than him.
"What the fu—!?"
But in your careless hurrying, you accidentally trip and literally flew down the remaining steps of Tighnari's hut. You grunted in pain as your elbow grazed down the balustres. When you looked ahead, you saw the tip of someone's toes in front of you.
You slowly looked up, frowning, your eyes met a familiar pair of cold crimson ones. Your stomach did quick flips, and your heart nearly burst out of your chest in surprise. You didn't expect to land pathetically in front of the man you want to see today—literally!
"You…" Cyno started, looking down at you as his red eyes flashing dangerously. "...Who are you?"
Tumblr media
"—And I specifically told you to stay in bed, but what did you do? You ran off on your own, got yourself more bruises, and had the wounds I treated to open. You even had the audacity to say you’re alright to my face–”
"Master Tighnari, I think they had enough…"
"Oh? Well, I do think they were pretty enthusiastic about listening to my lectures.”
“Bastard, do I look like I did? Ow!”
Tighnari, who was looking all smug at you, flicked your forehead after he finished tending to your injuries once again. Curse his supersonic hearing even though you were just whispering your complaints under your breath.
Beside you, Collei attempted to calm you down by patting your back. The girl was truly a blessing, and she's been very kind to you the moment she saw you tumbling on the ground from her Master's hut. Additionally, she looks even cuter in person; you almost want to squish her cheeks.
On the other hand, sitting at the far side of the room was the General Mahamatra himself staring intently at you like a guard dog. You tried ignoring the prickles at your skin, the lump forming at your throat at the intense way he was looking. His crimson eyes were scorching deep, as if trying to discern all the secrets you've been hiding from them. And from the way his expression shifted from nonchalance to wariness the moment he saw you, you knew that lying wasn't a safe option.
It wasn't like you were here to cause trouble! Or break rules! You're as confused as them, if not more, so you really have nothing to fear!
"—considering that you were now cheerful enough to dive out on your own accord when I clearly told you not to, I believe it's safe to assume that you don't have any lingering concussion from your fall. Though I suggest you stay for a few more days so I could monitor your condition—unless you want to stay in Bimarstan, that is…are you listening to me, [Name]?"
Your eyes snapped away from Cyno to look at the Forest Watcher, who was looking at you in exasperation. "Wait, I don't have any Mora on me for treatment! Besides, these wounds aren't all that serious, they could heal themselves in time."
Unfortunately, your million Mora was gone along with all of your stuff in Inventory. Damn it.
"Mx. [Name], we don't charge payment to our patients, so don't worry about that!" Collei chipped beside you. "And when it comes to treating others, my Master is one of the best! So, you can trust him, I assure you."
Your smile becomes crooked. "That's not exactly what I'm worried about…"
Tighnari wisely ignored the both of you and turned to Cyno, crossing his arms. "And how about you? To whom do we owe the General Mahamatra a visit?"
Cyno glances at you in a calculating way before looking back at his friend.
"I…uh, could step out for a bit so you guys could talk in private?" You offered, hesitant.
"No need," Cyno immediately declined, for some very odd reason. "I do not intend to keep this a secret anyway, and this peculiar discovery is not part of my job as a Matra—unless it starts to pose a problem to Sumeru as a whole. But for now, any kind of opinion regarding this subject is very much appreciated as much as it was a personal request from me."
"Now, this is weird." Tighnari muttered, sending him a meaningful glance. "Is this about the suspicious domain we discovered in Dharma Forest the other day?"
Your ears perked up. Domain in Dharma Forest? Wait…don't tell me…?
Cyno nodded stiffly. "Yes, I managed to open the domain today. Inside was some kind of mechanism that opens a time trial challenge that requires me to defeat some Eremites. Then, out of sheer curiosity, I tried revitalising the petrified tree inside. It then gave me this…"
Your eyes widened like saucers when you saw what materialised in Cyno's hand. You couldn't believed what you were seeing right now!
"Is this…some kind of flower? Its appearance looked similar to the Fetid Boughs in Withering Zones but…" Tighnari inspected the 'flower' with furrowed brows. "It doesn't have the same effects. It even looked remotely harmless to me."
"Exactly my thoughts." Cyno agreed. "Since you were used to dealing with Withering Zones and this item bears resemblance, I assumed you would know what this is."
The therianthrope shrugged his shoulders. "This is the first time I had seen this kind of…thing, in all honestly, so I have no idea. Have you tried asking the Sages? Surely, they could provide a reliable answer than myself."
After a few moments of silence, the General clearly hesitated, pursing his lips. Tighnari sighed in defeat, but an understanding smile crossed his expression. "Alright, I get it. No need to ask the Sages. This is a…personal business afterall."
"This is an Artifact," you said absentmindedly. "Though I have no idea if this is a four star or a five star artifact…"
No wonder why your Original Resin was 140/160 when you checked it earlier! It's because Cyno unknowingly used it on a Domain without knowing what it truly was.
Collei, who was silently listening to her elders patiently, looked at you in confusion. "...Artifacts? You know what that is, Mx. [Name]?"
Both of the scholars looked at you in interest.
You scracted your neck, debating whether to tell them about the in-game stuff or made something up. Though you quickly ruled out the latter. Lying wouldn't do any good especially since Cyno could easily tell if you do. It would be safer to be on their good graces instead of making them more suspicious of you.
"Uh…well, this is a part of an Artifact set of Gilded Dreams. And this particular piece is known as a Flower of Life, named as Dreaming Steelbloom." You explained, your expression sour as if you swallowed a lemon. You thank the Archons that there were days you were bored and resinless enough to read actual lore inside those artifacts!
"You said this flower is just a piece of a whole set, yes? Which means there are other pieces out there?" Tighnari curiously asked.
You nodded animatedly. "Yeah. There are five pieces each set. The Flower of Life, the Plume of Death, Sands of Eon, Goblet of Eonothem and the Circlet of Logos. They could be found in the same domain as the one you got this from. There are another set of artifacts you can get in that domain, too—the Deepwood Memories."
"And what can these artifacts do, exactly?" Cyno's shoulders tensed, waiting for your answer with a glare. He looked absolutely terrifying as if you didn't answer him truthfully, he would drag you across the desert before he reenacted his punishment for you.
"Oh, um, well…" You nervously blinked and you really tried your best to explain the purpose of artifacts, how they work, and even about their set bonuses. As scholars of the Academia that runs on logic and explanation of stuff, you don't freaking know if they even believed your crap, but at least you were telling the truth?
When you were done, you were extremely out of breath so Collei—bless her soul—kindly gave you a drink to clear your parched throat.
"—But the artifacts domains are absolute trash that runs on pure RNG luck." You muttered angrily, remembering the months you spend on domains crying in frustration just to get trash artifacts. "It would be a miracle to get good stats, and even purer divine intervention for them to roll on what you actually need. Tch."
The three of them shared a look. "I have no idea what an RNG is and what stats are you talking about, but if I guessed correctly with what you said," Tighnari paused, hands on his hips in contemplation. "There are other…artifact domains there are, and not just the one we discovered in Dharma Forest, correct?"
You nodded. "Yeah, but as of now, other artifact domains are located in Mondstadt, Liyue and Inazuma. The other domains I know that were available in Sumeru are the Talent Level-up and Weapon Ascension Domains…though I don't know if they would exist right now."
"What do you mean?" Cyno asked, his eyes narrowing.
Because my Map is not working right now! You cried inwardly, but you just shrugged at him.
"[Name], I'm curious about one thing," Tighnari mused, his ears twitching. "Judging from your expressions, and since Cyno hasn't stopped you yet, you must be telling the truth. But how did you know about all of this artifact stuff in the first place? I'm certain there are no books in the House of Deana about the things you just said, so all of this are new to me, and I could say the same for our General here—which is saying something."
If Cyno himself is not familiar with how these artifacts work, then how did you know? Tighnari seems to ask silently.
"Um," you shifted to your seat uncomfortably, aware of the three pairs of eyes watching your movements like a hawk—or a guard dog. "I…can't tell. At least not yet."
Collei's jaw dropped. "But why?"
"Because the knowledge tied to these artifacts could cause unwanted chaos should it fall in the wrong hands. And I'm sure you, as scholars of Academia, know how dangerous knowledge of the unknown could be, right?" You groaned. "So, please, just until I figure out stuff I need to do, I should keep as much knowledge as possible. But believe me! I really meant no harm!"
Cyno stood up from his seat and approached you, his crimson eyes narrowed into crescents. "You…do realised that once the Academia knew about this, they could force us Matra to interrogate you whether you 'figured out stuff' or not, right? This is a dangerous gamble you were taking, outlander."
At his silent threats, chills run down to your spine and goosebumps rose from your skin. But to his mild surprise, you persevere and decide to meet his cold gaze headon. "You won't do that."
"What makes you say that so confidently? You must be aware of my position in the Academia, and the power I hold." He challenges again.
You shook your head, scoffing. "Yes, but you were doubting the Academia now, right, General? Otherwise you would report that 'suspicious domain' to the Sages instead of going to Tighnari for help. Even more so about asking our opinions, especially me who you barely know."
You realised this earlier. Even though the 'game' timeline hasn't started yet, or at least, the Archon Quest of Sumeru is not yet happening, Cyno had his suspicions about the Academia already. His loyalty was starting to falter (or in better terms, his own sense of justice is being tested by the same people he served), and he wasn't sure if he could still trust them with an unknown discovery, so in his confused state, he had gone to see one of his most trusted confidants—which is this Fennec Fox therianthrope here.
This is where you were confident. Cyno, as his lore in-game said, would only hunt those who rulebreakers of the Academia. And only a few of them were even more worthy of his visit.
Though you weren't quite sure if your knowledge about 'artifacts' would be considered as 'getting his interest'. In any case...
His emotionless eyes looked more of orange than red up-close, and it was beautiful despite them glaring at you.
"Okay, that's enough for you two." Tighnari holds his hands up tiredly and gently pushes Cyno away from scaring you further. "We will not question you for now about the origins of these artifacts, then. Just be aware that Cyno might not feel the same as I do, but rest assured I'll talk to him later." He rolled his eyes.
The young man huffed, crossing his arms before ignoring his remarks. "In any case, we need to investigate these other domains. And you…are coming with us."
"What." You deadpanned.
Tighnari ignored you, too. "I agree. These domains might pose a threat later, so it's much safer to conduct investigation as much as possible as the first ones who discovered them. And we need to prepare a lot of things if the other domains have challenges awaiting for us as well."
"Wait—!"
"It would be best if we split up. It'll save us some time covering all areas in the desert and the rainforest tracking their location." Cyno added thoughtfully, glancing at you. "It's best if I take this person with me. I could keep an eye on them and their actions well enough if were together."
"Hey, stop ignoring me—!"
"Are you seriously planning to drag them across the desert?" Tighnari gave him a disgusted look. "They were better off with me in the rainforest. Besides, they were still injured. They needed to rest first."
"Oi, does my opinion don't matter here at all?"
As the two scholars banter back and forth about who you should go with, the Paimon Menu lit up again. And you saw Quest Complete at The Fox and the Jackal World Quest. Followed by a series of rewards that went tumbling down your Inventory when you checked.

None Of The Crows Will Die
I know many of us are afraid that when we get SoC 3, a Crow has to die. And many people think it's Kaz but just like a post @quillsthrills made, Killing Kaz is Killing Hope. (Sorry for the tag but you made a valuable point!!)
And I've also seen another or multiple posts about how Leigh can't kill off any of the Crows because how is she going to defend killing off a disabled boy with severe PTSD, a girl who also has severe PTSD and survived sex trafficking, a boy who has ADHD and is recovering from a gambling addiction, a boy who has dyslexia and had an abusive father, and a plus sized girl recovering from a drug addiction. (I don't know who posted this but please take the credit, I just typed this from my memory and understanding.)
And the reason Matthias died was because Leigh planned it from the start. She knew he was going to die, and his death was relevant to his character arc.
And I don't know if Leigh secretly plans to kill another one of the Crows but she can't justify killing any of the remaining 5 crows. And their deaths contribute nothing to their character development.
I also stumbled into this quote that I highlighted from my copy of Six of Crows.
The first day trekking was like a cleansing—little talk, the white hush of the north welcoming Matthias back without judgement. He'd expected more complaints, but even Wylan had simply put his head down and walked. They're all survivors, Matthias understood. They adapt.
This was during their trek through Fjerda, going to the Ice Court.
And maybe I'm not contributing any new points but I would just like to point out that the Crows are survivors, even Matthias said so. He wasn't including himself and I don't know if that's because he still didn't like associating himself with the rest of the Crows or if this was possible foreshadowing, which will be a stretch, but Kaz, Inej, Jesper, Wylan, and Nina are all survivors.
They represent and stand for all the people who've gone through the experiences they've had, which although are extreme to the average person, we still resonate with. And killing any of them wouldn't send a good message.
Leigh can't kill Kaz because he stands for the people who are surviving and living in spite of whatever challenges they face.
Leigh can't kill Inej because she stands for the people who are healing and have found purpose in the lives they live.
Leigh can't kill Jesper because he stands for the people who are learning from their mistakes and trying to do better.
Leigh can't kill Wylan because he stands for the people who have found peace and prosperity despite their upbringing and let go of the ones who hurt them.
Leigh can't kill Nina because she stands for the people who have faced an incredible loss and doing their best to move on and live life to the fullest.
These aren't the only reasons and just reflect my interpretation of the characters but I really believe Leigh can't give these characters tragic endings because they all deserve happy, hopeful ones.

Can we get some more Krüger beeing mean to Horangi? And then put in his place by König when he figures out what's going on? 🥺🥺🥺🥺
*cue the heavy breathing* Yeah! Of course! I am totally normal about this!
Horangi dug his hands into his thighs as Krüger sat next to him. "Thought about what I said?"
Horangi kept his mouth shut. He wanted to shoot him right here in fucking evac, but König was nearby and would be pissed if Horangi "started another fight". Krüger was good. Horangi would give him that. He always made sure it looked like it was Horangi's fault. It hurt a little that his boyfriend didn't trust him.
Okay, it hurt a lot.
"Listen, wouldn't I be better for him? We've known each other longer. I know how to make him happy. All you do is upset him."
Horangi dug his hands in tighter. He hated that Krüger was right more than anything. All he did was make König lately. For picking fights or agreeing to gamble. For being distracted, for not showing him how much he loved him, for making mistake after mistake with him.
Horangi hated that he was getting so worked up. The man just got under his skin.
Neither of them noticed König coming closer.
"You're pathetic. He'd be a lot better with me and you fucking know it."
König heard that one, going still right behind them. Horangi too stressed and wound up to notice and Krüger just wasn't paying attention.
"You're nothing but a recovering addict that ran away from your country because you were too much of a fucking coward-"
"That's enough." König surprised even himself with the venom in his tone. He glared at him. "You are not to speak of Horangi that way, ever. We are not and will not ever get back together. Seeing this side of you, I'm regretting ever being with you in the first place."
Krüger looked surprised, floundering a bit. "König, sch-"
"No! You are not to call me petnames. You are not to be so... so...." König threw his hands up. "Just back off!" He put himself between them. Anxiety was creeping in but more than that was his anger. Horangi had been telling him and he hadn't believe him. Had believed his lying bastard ex over his boyfriend. Oh he'd have to make it up to him. Candlelit dinners or begging. Horangi was weak to both.
"König..." Horangi grabbed his arm in warning. "We're in evac. Best we all sit down, okay?"
"You're right, my biene." That wasn't his normal nickname for Horangi, but it was one that was popular enough in Austria and Germany that Krüger would know what it meant. "But you will go elsewhere." The plane was small but it wasn't that small. He could find a place far away from König and Horangi.
König didn't wait for a response, sitting next to Horangi and pressing to his side. "I am sorry, I wi-"
Horangi leaned into him. "Thank you for coming in when you did. Didn't think I could hold it together much longer."
"I am so sorry I didn't be-"
Horangi cut him off again. "I didn't want to pick a fight in evac ya know? I ju-"
König cut him off this time. "Let me apologize."
Horangi paused before sighing. "Yeobo, I don't... want to hear them right now. I believe you."
König had a feeling this wasn't it. There would probably be talks in the future. How dreadful. But Horangi showed no signs of breaking up for the moment.
What if he did? Oh no. Had he perme-
"Stop spiraling, gongjunim. Seriously, it is okay."
König went bright red at the nickname, but it successfully jerked him out of his thoughts. "Okay..."
"What does biene mean?"
"Means bee."
"I prefer the other one you use."
"Mordkätzchen?"
"Yes. What does that one mean?" Horangi knew it.
König told him anyway. "Murder kitten."
"Murder kitten." Horangi laughed softly.

Eleina ( my bg3 oc tav ) rambles [copy pasted from twt]
(⚠️ Dark themes)
Backstory: Her father is a swindler and always absent. He was also that noble who is hated by everyone but still have the balls to show up at gatherings and parties to show off his wealth and 'beautiful' family. Her father is also a gambling addict which was why their money ran out fast. And before her mother knew what was happening, it was too late. They were being hunted down by the people her father scammed and stole from, even after they went into hiding. Her father kept gambling what little money her mother saved, they kept being hunted still and eventually her father got caught and killed. His head on a pike and was displayed for the public to see in the place her father often frequents after they went to hiding. That being baldur's gate. Her mother knew this and instead of feeling relieved that her shit husband was finally gone, ( which he also became abusive after he lost all his wealth ) she went into depression. Not knowing what to do now since she developed Stockholm syndrome and still loves her husband.
Eleina's mother would hang herself in the tiny cabin home they're hiding in one night where eleina would see her dead body when morning came.
Still small, being 7 years old, eleina couldn't even take her body down and watched her mother's dead body for while. Crying and not knowing what to do. No one to ask help from since she doesn't even know where to go, being far from any town or road.
The people hunting down her family managed to find the cabin where they were hiding and saw eleina's mother dead and Eleina malnourished and laying on the bed. Also looking quite… Dead (but still alive). Taking pity for her, they left her alone , sure that she's not far off from death herself.
Eleina saw and heard their conversation. Closing her eyes. Hoping that indeed. She would pass.
After a few hours. Eleina wakes up from a noise outside. She was weak but the sad meowing ses to call for her.
She pushes herself to stand and look at where the noise was coming from. She saw the men who was hunting them, all dead Claw marks and bite marks. And in the .middle of human dead bodies , a large dead tiger who had a little cub crying on its leg.
She felt for the little animal and shed tears of her own. The cub was like her. So she held out a hand, weakly approaching the small animal, who somehow felt Eleina's sadness and that she wasn't a threat. So the cub goes to her. Eleina found a reason to keep going. She doesn't want the little cub to feel the loneliness she feels. So she decided to pull herself together and care for the small animal. Whom she names Lakas. ( Idea from word Lakas in Filipino Which means strength )
Eleina slowly tries to regain her strength. All she could really eat at the moment were fruits and fishes from the river nearby. Lakas helping her. The bodies around their cabin, inuding the tiger body, eleina and Lakas did their best to pull and bury. Just a bit away from the cabin
Her mother's body would also be put down with Eleina stacking up some cabinets and suitcases as well as some crate in the basement.
It was messier for her mother since her mother's body had started to rot already but she did her best and gave her mother a proper burial .
Few months passed and Eleina is fully recovered. No longer feeling comfortable in that cabin, eleina, along with Lakas decided to leave. Burning it down and setting off to find a new place to settle in.
Since she was still young. Eleina was more careful and avoided crowds for Lakas' safety as well. They would travel alone for a year, Lakas conversed with fellow animals to avoid trouble with other stronger animals. Avoiding places where said strong animals might attack them. Eleina slowly develops her talk to animals skill during this time. After a while, they would meet a crow. A very odd crow with four wings that has blue eyes. Who can … Speak human language and decided to join Eleina and Lakas. Said crow introduced himself as Astero and said that there's something about eleina that makes Astero feel That he needs to be with her.
Eleina didn't feel any evil intent towards the crow and let's him join her. To Lakas' annoyance.
The three would continue their journey for another year, still avoiding town and crowds until they finally found a new home to settle in. An abandoned home atop a hill. Right behind the home is a cliff but with a beautiful view of nature and clear to see the sky completely.
Whoever owned the house abandoned many things , still in good condition. They also had a little garden and a bit further down the hill, a shed Eleina take residence there starting that day and discovers that under said house was a mini selune shrine as well as a study room about selune worship. Eleina wasn't much on religion but felt draw to selune and did love the night sky and stargazing that she was fascinated. And would eventually pray to selune from time to time. Not a full devout worshipper but she believed in selune. More than any god she read from books in the house.
Eleina continues to live in seclusion in said house, Happily and peacefully with Lakas and Astero, even helping passing by adventurers or lost people in that part of wilderness, giving them shelter and helping th find their way back to the main roads. Any bandits who tries to attack Eleina's home, a fully grown Lakas would take
Down. Eleina let's Lakas kill so long as it's people who mean harm.
Astero, who knows strange magic , would also set up traps in a certain radius to protect their home against people with evil intent. Making their home safe.
All was peaceful until eleina was finally 22. A lost adventurer' would stumble upon her home, said adventurer was an absolutist who was about to transform. Eleina did not know what sickness it was so she sets out with Astero. She tells Lakas to look after their home and that she will not take long.
Eleina and Astero Travels to the main road and calls for help. Sadly it was night time and not much people was around. Even more unfortunate was those who did hear her asking for help was absolutists looking for new victim experiments. And that's when she was abducted.
Astero who tried to fight back with magic was quickly swat away by wizard and sorcerer absolutists. Overpowered by numbers.
And that's eleina's story start for bg3
ADDITIONAL ELEINA INFO

eleina was raised into becoming a proper lady until she was 6. When she turned 7 that's when shit hit the fan.
eleina gets along well with halsin, jaheira and the druids in emerald grove because of being one with nature and her being friendly with animals
eleina is kindhearted but if she sees even the hint of bad intentions towards someone, killing intent to be exact, she feels no remorse in killing. Finding death as nothing new because of the amount she had to bury on her own when she was younger. Thinking death is well deserved for any people with evil intention. And especially if said people is like her shit father.
Eleina is patient and highly attached to Lakas. Which was why returning to Lakas safe and alive is what motivates her in the story. She cries knowing that Lakas must feel so lonely.
she worries about Lakas terribly and can anger her when someone says that Lakas was probably long dead.
she treats Lakas as a family. Like a sister even.
Eleina is very obviously a cat person and in eleina's version of the story, any orange cat eleina sees, she will keep safe and successfully invite to her camp.
because of eleina's lack of socializing. She bluntly speaks her mind no matter how weird the question is. Unless the answer is something romance or sexual related which only then would she feels flustered, apologize and run away.
Eleina cooks very well. And takes turns with Gale in cooking.

Shadow and Bone: A Long Form Story in A Short Story Medium
One of the reasons the cancellation of Shadow and Bone hurt so much was because we spent two seasons properly developing the characters -- especially the Crows -- waiting for plot and character development that never had the time to pay off.
The writers wrote the show as if they would have time to introduce the characters and let them grow across multiple episodes and seasons. A smidge of characterization here. Plot. A dash of development there... They were telling a long form story, you know, as expected in television. And the reality is that streaming platforms in their limited episode number and even more restrictive number of seasons does not allow for slow but progressive story telling anymore.
Streaming story telling is short and concise. It demands self contained short stories and caps character growth to a single season, if not a single episode.
That's why it hurts so much that we never saw the six Crows together. Two seasons of establishing character, slowly but steadily setting up the plot, building toward the Ice Court Heist and subsequent events of Crooked Kingdom would be expected in a "normal TV series." But the mentality of streaming services is that if it doesn't happen in a single episode or season, then it won't happen at all.
Think of all the things in Shadow and Bone that were hinted but not directly addressed. Kaz stealing Jan Van Eck's DeKappel painting. Inej getting a lead on the name of the slavers that stole her from her family. Jesper's gambling addiction. Wylan's inability to read, but still being well educated. Matthias' affection for wolves and the importance of his ash tree. Nina defecting from Ravka.
All of these would have been addressed later if given the time.
Now think of all of the things that were hinted at and then the show came back and properly addressed within two seasons. Kaz's backstory, his gloves and haphephobia. Inej's indenture to the Menagerie and her desire for freedom not only for herself, but for other indentures. Jesper happily sharing a bed with a pretty face only to wind up in a stable relationship with a former one night stand. These story beats paid off because their progression felt natural. Earned. Elements were introduced and built upon.
Now imagine what could have been. Established big eater Nina refusing food as she recovers from parem. Former grisha hunter Matthias protecting Jesper and Kuwei, two grisha. Kaz removing his gloves and emotional armor for Inej. Jesper's carefree facade a mask to cover his personal pain and gambling addiction. Wylan's merchling identity revealed. Heck, let's take it a step farther and imagine the scared, hunched shoulders, trying to shrink himself as much as physically possible Wylan we first meet in season 2 bravely standing in front of his father and the merchant council to "read" a transfer of property document. The groundwork laid seasons 1 and 2 would have established these significant moments in order to give them the full weight and authority the deserved.
When fans mention scenes or dialog from the books that were bastardized in the show, like the Kanej bathroom scene taking place at Black Veil only to be interrupted by Nina, I'm not angry that scene wasn't a perfect replica of the scene from the book. Why? Because we were also supposed to get that perfect bathroom scene adaption one day and compare it to the earlier version to show character growth. Kaz unable to take his gloves off at Black Veil to help Inej tend her wounds to THE BATHROM SCENE where he takes off his gloves, bandages her, and kisses her neck.
Imagine the impact of Jesper casually telling Wylan, "I kinda like your face," to one day yelling, "I liked your stupid face," in anguish when Wylan takes Kuwei's appearance. These build ups were happening, they just needed more time.
The problem of Shadow and Bone being canceled was that the writers were creating a long form story in a medium of short story streaming. The two were never compatible, but that's not the writers, producers, or showrunner's fault. They were telling a story and attempting to do it well, not take shortcuts and cheat via dialog exposition. If given the chance, I think the writers and everyone involved in the show would have given the Crows characters more space to breathe, to simple be characters instead of rushing from plot point to plot point. After all, they filmed the deleted scenes of Jesper's and Inej's goodbye as well Jesper offering Wylan a key and moving in together. These moments were cut for plot pacing reasons, not character development reasons.
Netflix and streaming services are the problem because they have destroyed TV's long form story telling by demanding breakneck pacing, limited seasons and episodes to tell a story. Shadow and Bone's Crows were unfortunately a casualty of it.

The beloved NPCS of Los Diablos-specifically the local up and coming bad, LONG FANG.
(Left to Right)
Binxxx Bantrixxx is the Bassist. Popular due to his pretty looks, he is a recovering alcoholic from his hard times partying a bit too much back in his early collage years that resulted in him getting booted from collage and becoming homeless. This did result with him becoming best friends with front man, Lonnie, meeting at a homeless shelter.
Treavor Croish is the Gitaurist. Originally from Kansas, he came out to Nevada for the city's more open views and to transition-but stayed due to a gambling addiction he's still working through. Being in the band and having someone else handle and manage his money has helped quite a bit. Treavor is a bit on the quiet side, being a half orc, he is a bit self conscious about how short he is (5'6 which is SHORT for a half orc)
Lonnie Feng is the Front man and Vocalist of the group. Lonnie is loud, brash and isn't afraid to say or do what comes to his mind. He was kicked out of his well off family home during Highschool due to being a bisexual and ended up hopping around the Los Diablos Shelter scene, eventually meeting Binxxx. He later was discovered by their current manager and became the frontman of Long Fang-which is ironically named after him, being the name their manager wrote down due to being hard of hearing.
Dreadful (Derrick) is the drummer. Being a Firbolg, he's originally from Montana and came West to go 'see the world' as all young Firbolgs do when they come of age. Unfortunately due to naivety and stress, Dreadful ended up getting HEAVILY involved in drug use-specifically heavy amounts of tranquilizers. He has since gotten clean and as the band is still early in the works-he's getting an online degree while waiting for the band to take off, just to have a fall back plan. Dreadful is very gentle and quiet, mainly due to his nature as a firbolg and his gentle raised nature. He ironically does enjoy loud metal music.
