What are the Types and Treatments for Arthritis?
Tumblr media
Many of us aim to move freely without discomfort throughout our lives. However, life’s challenges often include maintaining stable health as our bodies undergo wear and tear, leading to pain and discomfort.
When it comes to mobility, one prevalent condition worldwide is Arthritis, causing concern for many. Yet, Expert Orthopedic Doctors associated with the Leading Arthritis Treatment Hospital in Bangalore assure that successful methods exist today to manage this condition..
A bit of awareness and taking care at the right time can help a lot
Understanding Arthritis
The Best Knee Specialists in Bangalore at Suguna Hospital describe Arthritis as a condition that causes swelling and tenderness in one or multiple joints throughout the body. As your age or with certain health issues like high blood sugar levels, this condition may worsen.
Different Types of Arthritis
Arthritis isn’t restricted to a particular age but is commonly noticeable in later stages.
Some of the common types are:
Osteoarthritis – Affecting joints in your Hands, Knees and Spine.
Psoriatic Arthritis – Caused due to a very complicated skin disease called Psoriasis, this condition can be very challenging.
Reactive Arthritis – This causes joint pain and swelling. It is caused either due to infection or malfunction of key organs of your body including the intestines, genitals, or urinary tract.
Rheumatoid Arthritis – This is a chronic inflammatory disorder. In addition to affecting the different joints, it can deeply impact premier organs like heart, lungs and eyes.
When to See a Doctor? Experts recommend seeking immediate medical attention if you notice specific symptoms, like
Stiff joints
Acute pain in the joints
Difficulty in moving or standing
Swelling observed in or around the joints
Redness observed in the joints
Treating ArthritisManaging Arthritis requires a systematic approach. It’s crucial not to overlook persistent symptoms as mere discomfort. Ignoring these signs can lead to costly consequences.
Your treatment is based on how severe is your condition and can include:
MedicationsDepending upon the type of Arthritis diagnosed, your medications may include:
Ointments
Steroids
Physiotherapies and light workouts to begin with
SurgeryThis is the last resort which your doctors might recommend only if there are no signs of improvement after persistent medication.  Some of the types of surgeries successfully performed include,
Joint Repairs
Joint Replacements
Overcome Arthritis and lead a pain-free, confident life. Avoid welcoming Arthritis! Consult the top Arthroscopy Surgeon  in Bangalore at Suguna Hospital for a safe and successful journey ahead.

Gravity is cruel
I learned today from my orthopedic appointment that the stabbing pain in my index finger is from joint laxity AKA Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
Tumblr media
I’m being referred to a rheumatologist and possibly physical therapy. 🤦 Oh, and there is a EDS clinic an hour or two away that I might be referred to too.
I also learned yesterday that POTS is disautonomia which is the umbrella term for your sympathetic systems don’t work the way they are supposed to.
I’ll be getting a lot of testing for that but at least my leg veins will finally be looked at with the varicose veins I have. That’ll be nice to see if I can get some of that fixed in the near future.

ok but there's something about how in s6 chase and cameron (2 seconds before she's written off) talk about working for house again, and chase suggests they should and how she was the one who liked diagnostics, not him
and it's like
chase was never in diagnostics because he had a dream of being a diagnostician? he was there because he liked house. he wasn't there to lead his own team or take the job elsewhere, he liked house. he didn't need to be there. he's the best and most magical surgeon on the planet. he can have an entire career as a surgeon. he's not been blacklisted or forced out of a practice and he's not just starting out: chase is here because he likes house. he enjoys being around house. unlike foreman and cameron he never has any real ambitions to lead his own department or team or hospital. he's not dreaming of being a famous diagnostician, he just likes house.
and so when chase's life falls apart he comes back. and so when chase has nothing else to do he waits for house to come back. if house was teaching orthopedics or rheumatology or cooking it wouldn't matter. and the absolute irony of it is that this low-ambition nepobaby very desperately hoping house will love him some day is also brilliant. he doesn't want to be a diagnostician, but as early in the pilot he's coming up with Solutions. he's observant and can read house like a book. he's a good manipulator. he solves cases. he's just here to have fun and yet he's got more natural talent than foreman and cameron. no wonder house bullies him so much. no wonder he punches him in the face. how absolutely insufferable. imagine how good chase would be if he gave a shit at any point of his life. (imagine if his life had been different, and he hadn't learned so thoroughly that giving a shit just meant heartbreak, that caring just let others hurt and leave you.)
he's the only fellow house ever fired, and yet house is the only constant in chase's life. the only one who took him back time and again. he doesn't have to be here, he doesn't care about diagnostics, he's here because he likes house,

Love not being able to opt-out of PE due to my orthopedic going "If it's a rheumatological issue your muscles have to be strong!" when it is actively worsening things, so now my 2 options are: 1) Not participate, fail, and have to re-do PE or get a GED instead 2) Participate, make my condition worse, and graduate on time

6/70 days of productivity: 15/12 well… let’s just pretend that didn’t happen… Went to class, which would’ve been progress if it wasn’t 1 very useless family medicine lecture
Hung out with my friends afterwards but somehow ended the day being a stressed out unproductive sleepy idiot so yeah

7/70 days of productivity: 16/12
Lots of sleep (if not evident by my inability to leave the bed) plus 1 and a half blocks on derma / rheumatology and orthopedics

Oooo for the director's commentary ask!! ⭐️ any sections of ikydwt you have been dying to talk about?
Not a section per se, but I want to talk about Harrow being a medical illustrator in this fic!!!!
It was one of the first things I thought of when I was trying to decide what to have her be studying - I kept trying to think of other options and I just kept coming back to that. I felt that whatever I landed on needed to be very academic/intellectual and a rather niche, but also allow for the level of artistry that we see in her necromancy. While we give a lot of focus to Harrow’s dedication to her studies and her degree of specialization, I think we overlook the creativity in how she deploys necromancy, the beauty she finds in it, and I wanted to incorporate that aspect as well. Medical illustration fit the bill.
From a logistical standpoint, it also worked really well. We often see her in some sort of medical field in AUs, but if she were a medical student in this one, it would largely preclude the amount of time I needed her to spend with Gideon for this scenario. Also, slight tangent but I have to say it: I totally get the rationale when people have her as in orthopedics, because, obviously, bones, but it’s also really funny to me that the stereotype is that orthopedic surgeons are the jocks and gym bros of the medical field. Based on that, Gideon would be the one in ortho; Harrow would be much more likely to end up in endocrinology or rheumatology (who have reputations as being the nerds and Sherlock Holmes, respectively).
Aside from that, it gave me something to have her doing in a lot of scenes where she would otherwise just sort of be sitting around (or just sitting around talking with someone). If she’s got her sketchbook with her, I now have something for her to be doing and can break up otherwise long chunks of dialogue or whatever by taking a moment to focus on her drawings. Plus, it gives her an excuse to look at Gideon, and study her, and think about how gorgeous she is, etc 😏
(from this ask game)

I think even if I did test negative for celiac disease, I probably would still go gluten free because I actually feel the improvement. I'm not throwing up everyday. I don't have constant acid reflux. I am actually pooping more often. There's still a lot of healing that needs to happen as it can take years for the digestive tract to heal on top of having a connective tissue disorder so there's a chance it could never fully heal. But after years of doctors just telling me "oh just take laxatives that make you unbearably sick that we have to literally hold you down and force it down your throat" or "oh we think you're just anxious" and to actually have actual progress in healing is just something I needed.
I think I can add this to the list of problems that are slowly resolving and maybe one day I can add it to the "very well managed" list alongside my migraines.
And you know what? My anxiety improved a fuck ton because the medical team ACTUALLY FUCKING LISTENED.
So there you have it. If you think your patient is very anxious, maybe actually fucking listen to them???
But anyway, now I'm getting further evaluation for EDS out of the way. I've got a referral to rheumatology and orthopedics. And then I have a podiatry referral because my custom inserts for my shoes are WAY overdue.
