夫婦や家族という関係を通して相手を知ることは、不思議な体験だなと思う。ふたりが離婚の理由について話すシーンが印象に残る。

「別れることに？」と私に顔を向け、語気を強めた。「ことにした？そうやって自分で何かを決めるなんて、どれだけの人間にできるんだ。あのとき、ほんとに家庭を捨てることにしたのか？おれが見たルーシーは、ただ出てった、出ずにいられなかった、だよな。………… 人間てのは、何かをしようと実際に決めてるんだろうか。どうだろう」

いつぞや、ある友人が、「どうしようか迷う場合は、どうなってるか見きわめる」と言っていた。あの年の私は、いまだ去っていなくても、去ろうとしていた。

自分の意志で行ったと思うことも、よくよく考えたら、「そうせざるを得なかった」ことって多いもんね。恋人と別れようか悩んでいるとき、確実に私達は「別れようとしている」。ただ、後悔のないように別れるべき理由探しをしているだけ。

思うように人生を操ることなんて無理なのかなぁ、とこの本を読んで思った。人と一緒に暮らすのって、とても楽しいし、とても難しい。

i think using real animatronics really enhanced the experience of the film. not just in the charming yet uncanny way freddy + friends robotically stomped around but also when they finally reveal springtrap at the end of the film. the way he lumbers in, hunched over. immediately recognizable as an animatronic but theres something Wrong. he's moving too fast, too lifelike. that has to be a person in a suit. he found you, mike.
