I had read an interview with Jennifer Lynn Barnes, shortly after the Brothers Hawthorne came out. The person interviewing her asked if Grayson and Jameson were animals, what would they be.
She said Grayson would be a bird of prey and Jameson would be a jaguar or leopard. I think it fits both of them, worth their personalities, but I was very disappointed not hear what Xander or Nash would be.
Any ideas?
I can see Nash being a lab or a sloth. (I don't know why a sloth, but when I thought of what animal he would be, a sloth was the first animal that came to mind!!)
Xander I have no idea.
Anyway, that's it for now.

Bad Shellfish
Part one.
Today Avery forced me out of the office at 3. Three PM! Absolutely absurd. She had my work accounts frozen for the day, forcing an inability to do anything remotely productive. I walked out of the front doors of the Foundation building and adjusted my suit cuffs. What to do… I pondered the question as I strolled to my car. I settled behind the wheel of my chrome silver Jaguar and strapped myself in, reaching to start the ignition. Just then, my stomach rumbled. Reaching for my coffee cup, I discovered it was empty. Shit. No work, no good coffee, empty stomach. This was not my day.
I pulled out of the parking lot and got on the road. I mentally flipped through local cuisine and settled on a high end seafood restaurant that was only about fifteen minutes from my current location. I drove there and was immediately recognized and tended to by the staff. They escorted me to the back to a private dining area with many fish tanks full of exotic species. Is that what they mean by, “Served fresh daily”?
I ordered some shrimp scampi and a side of sushi, and was not disappointed in both the speed of delivery and the quality of the food. It was delicious. The first real lunch I’d had in a while, and soon I finished. After lunch, I paid my bill and drove back to Hawthorne House. The remainder of my day passed without much event.
The following morning, I woke up and noticed that I felt… off. My muscles ached slightly, and it felt different than the typical soreness after some heavy swimming. Had it been those post-swim aches, I’d have been able to tell, as I was well acquainted with those. However, this was different. I couldn’t quite place it. I sat up and got out of bed with a groan and a shiver. What on earth? I shouldn’t be cold either. One of the staff comes in before I wake up every morning and lights a fire in my room’s fireplace, and today’s was burning pleasantly. I shook it off and proceeded with my morning, showering, getting dressed and heading downstairs to our immaculate dining room for breakfast.
To my surprise, no one was at the table. Usually at the very least Nash and Xander were there by the time I arrived at breakfast. And the food was still lain out, but plenty of people had clearly already eaten. I glanced at my watch. Good lord. It was 9:23 AM! How on earth?? I was never late to breakfast, and certainly never this late! I must have slept in somehow. But how?? I don’t feel like I slept in. I’m quite tired still. I didn’t stay up that late reading. I automatically sat at the table and made my plate as my brain tried to make sense of what on earth is going on with me. By the time I actually registered the food now piled on my plate, my stomach revolted with a churn. I pushed my plate away with a glare of distaste. I stood and went to make myself a cup of coffee.
Once it was brewed, I carried it upstairs to my office and checked on my work accounts. Unshackled. Finally. I took a seat at my desk after turning the heat up and did some work. After a couple hours, the coffee had spurned a love hate relationship in me. I was only becoming more tired, which prompted me to drink the caffeinated beverage, but my stomach was now starting a rebellion. I leaned back in my chair, officially nauseous. A clenched fist to my mouth, I attempted to swallow a gag. What the hell was this? I was nauseated, cold despite the heat being well on, tired, and achy. I never felt this way! It’s like I was sick. But that was impossible. Hawthornes don’t get sick. We stand and tolerate an off day.
“I’m fine,” I gritted to no one but myself.
Five minutes later I was on the cold bathroom tile, over a toilet losing the coffee I’d drank. My throat now burned from the stomach acid as I made my way back to my office. My phone was lit up with a missed call notification. Nash. I picked up the phone and called him back.
“Hello?” I grimaced slightly as I heard how my voice sounded off. Not shocking, but certainly a potential give away to my ever perceptive big brother that I was feeling ill.
“Gray?” he drawled on the other end of the line. “What’s wrong?”
  “Nothing’s wrong.”
“Liar. You said hello. Everyone who’s ever talked to you on the phone twice knows you don’t do that. What’s up with your voice? And why were you late to breakfast? What’s wrong?”
“Nothing. Just-“ I hurriedly stifled a gag. “Just busy.”
He knew something was up then. “Gray,” he warned. When I refused to respond, he hung up the phone. I rolled my eyes in spite of a forming headache. Knowing him, he was coming to find me. I huffed before clutching my stomach and rushing back into the bathroom.

Writer Q&A Tag Game
Thank you to @winterandwords for tagging me in this one! I love Q&As, I don't care what the questions are!
1. What motivates you to write?
The pursuit of fame and fortune.
Just kidding. No, in all honesty, there was a time when I was obsessed with writing for the market. I still want to make money with my fiction someday, I'm not gonna lie. But actually, it's always been about telling stories that I know no one else will tell and that need to be told. If I'm that invested in a story, nothing will stop me from finishing it.
2. A line/short snippet of your writing that you are most proud/happy of. If not maybe share a line of someone else's work you love (just please credit them)
This is the last section of the opening chapter of The Adored. And it's going to get changed, so don't get too attached. But the gist of it has stayed through all drafts:
CW: Mention of teen females (consensually?) groping a teen male:
Hell, before this year, he’d never left the state of Minnesota. He and Afton didn’t eat pie on a boat on their first date, either. They didn’t even have a first date. But he’s let the world believe it, along with a million other lies that look pretty under pastel filters and amazing in 200 characters or less. Lies that dance center stage, that come alive under the lights. The lies are Afton’s truth. Thayer’s truth. Social media’s truth.
But they aren’t ours. Micah's and my truth is different. It’s underground, rotting in basements and prison cells, and all the dark places he still prays never to have to go back to. It’s about the night I saw Afton with a man in a dark Jaguar that turns Micah pale when he sees it, about the chains that still choke his heart and soul. It’s the jagged puzzle whose pieces he relied on me to put together, then told me never to reveal — the whats, but not the whys.
It’s why we’re really quitting.
But there’s one last truth. It’s what he’s trusting me to find. Me, the gawky giraffe in borrowed Balenciaga, with a bass she can barely play. The blurry face in the background. The tacked-on name at the bottom of the story. Bandmate Isley Nash.
I want to ask him, why me?
But before I can, it’s over. He throws himself backward off the stage. His body arches through space like a supernova. This is the moment they’ve been waiting for. They caress him, groping his hair, his legs, his junk. His eyes close. He’s lost. He’s theirs. For them, there’s only tonight.
And unless I find that truth, tonight is all there will ever be.
3. Which OC makes you smile every time you think/talk about them and what are they like?
Micah (see above) is a reluctant teen rock star, a defiant rebel, a deadpan snarker, a (probable) murder victim, and my OG sad boi, so I'm always going to go with him.
4. What process of writing do you enjoy the most?
Editing. Drafting is trying to make something out of nothing, which is torture. Editing, meanwhile, is sculpting something you create (which is almost always terrible to start off with) into something good, which is fun and fulfilling. I will vomit unreadable, ungrammatical crap onto the page just so there's something there to edit when I go back. For me, that's where 99% of the real work of writing gets done.
5. What part of writing do you think you are the best at? (Yes stroke your own ego it's okay)
Dialogue! I think my dialogue is often funny and entertaining. Can I say that? I'm saying that.
6. What is something in the writeblr community is most enjoyable?
Getting tagged to fill out Q&As like this and ramble about myself ad nauseum! No, seriously, the community I've found on Tumblr has amazingly changed my life in the best way -- and I've really only been here a few months! Here, I've found talented writers, engaged readers, and all-around wonderful human beings, who do not only NOT judge me for my bizarre tastes, but in many cases actually share them. Finding a community like that is rare enough in the internet hellscape where we often find ourselves, let alone IRL, and I will be grateful for it always.
7. A writing tool/device you use that helps you with writing? (It could be speech to text, a writing program etc)
I've reluctantly come around to Grammarly, even though I snobbishly thought I didn't need it. Oh, and chatGPT. No, I'm kidding. I have tried it out, though. (Haven't we all?)
8. A piece of worldbuilding that you like in your own story? (It could be the magic system, a particular place in the story, a law etc)
CW for discussing slavery in a clinical, dispassionate way (IDK, might be a trigger for some).
I've long thought you can't really understand or write about slavery without understanding the basic economics behind it, whether historically or in a fictional context. In most fiction with institutionalized slavery, it's either completely controlled by a dystopian government or by one single, massive company. To me, neither seemed realistic, and I think this is where this world differs from other related ones. In the world of GSNBTR, slavery is like any other sector under capitalism: it's multiple businesses of various sizes and with different niches competing against each other for customers, while being regulated (relatively lightly) by the government (as lobbied for by special interests, of course). And that also means thinking hard about the kinds of roles slaves would be likely to fill in a modern society built on that system, where they come from (likely many different places), who would own, trade, and manage them (whether government, corporations, or individuals) and how they would be likely to be used -- ie., it's not just domestic servants and sex workers, in fact, those are likely the minority of slaves. The majority are fast-food workers, landscapers, cleaners, dishwashers, farmworkers, general laborers, etc. etc. I suspect some are also used in the entertainment industry in some capacity (i.e. some actors/musicians/athletes are literally owned by movie studies/record companies/sports leagues), but I haven't really puzzled this out in detail. This stuff isn't necessarily fun to think about, but it's a must in a story like this, and I definitely did spend a lot of time thinking about it.
9. What piece of advice would you say to encourage others to write if they are having a rough patch?
Are you writing what you really want to write? Always write what you want, not what you think you should. And if you can't write just for yourself, write for just one person. The rest of your audience will come naturally.
10. Tag some people whose works you love/have been your biggest supporters
I have to of course start with the talented writers whose work was so amazing it drew me in and got me to stay: @little-peril-stories @starlit-hopes-and-dreams
And then, to my astonishment, they reached out to support me and my own work, at times in ways far beyond anything I ever could have imagined. 💕
And then! On various levels, I've been lucky enough to know and interact with @i-can-even-burn-salad @whither-wander-whump @rickie-the-storyteller @mysticstarlightduck @painful-pooch @tabswrites @burntcoffeewhump, and @winterandwords!
And there are so many more great folks that I'm only just starting to discover, such as the following I'll gently tag (as well as OPEN TAG for anyone I mentioned above -- since you're already here, after all -- and anyone else reading this! 😂)

Hamilton Riley Special
Britain has a proud history of special building with everything from Austin Sevens to Bentley MkVIs being given a new lease of life. The process typically involves modifying the donor vehicle’s existing chassis and fitting a lighter, more sporting body. The Hamilton Riley, however, takes things to the next level. Reputedly created by a Riley employee named Mr Hamilton, the two-seater sits atop a multi-tubular steel chassis that is thought to be bespoke. Certainly, it does not correspond to any Riley model we are aware of. If anything, the construction is more like a 1950s sports racer such as a Jaguar C-Type or Aston Martin DB3. The superstructure is made from thinner gauge steel tubing, while the body itself is fabricated from aluminium. Stylistically, the car resembles nothing so much as a Frazer Nash Targa Florio (at the least from the front). Although the side louvre panels echo those of a Jaguar C-Type, while the blisters above the rear wheels mimic Lister practice. The independent front suspension and rack and pinion steering are seemingly Riley RM-series derived with the leaf-sprung rear axle believed to have come from an AC. Powered by a Riley Pathfinder 2.5 litre ‘twin cam’ four-cylinder engine allied to four-speed manual plus overdrive transmission (presumed to be a Moss ‘box), the Hamilton Riley rides on 16-wire wheels shod with Michelin radial tyres and features drum brakes all-round. The bonnet is held in place with leather straps and the fuel tank accessed via a Monza-style quick release filler cap.

Gli altri sport: Mike Parkes
Tumblr media
Read the full article

2023 Revival to host first ever all-synthetic fuel race at Goodwood as full schedule confirmed
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In what is already a seminal year for motorsport at Goodwood as we celebrate 75 years of the Motor Circuit, 30 years of the Festival of Speed and 25 years of the Revival, we are delighted to announce that this year’s Revival will host an all-synthetic fuel race - the first of its kind. Taking place over the weekend, the Fordwater Trophy will see a grid of 30 pre-66 Porsche 911s take to the historic Goodwood Motor Circuit - for the first ever all-synthetic fuel race in its 75-year history. The Revival race list is completed by a further 14 races for everything from pre-war Grand Prix cars to sportscars of the early 1960s; the races join the previously-announced Carroll Shelby Centenary and 75 years of Lotus celebrations. Fordwater Trophy - Porsche 911s Continuing our celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the legendary Porsche 911 from the 80th Members’ Meeting, Revival will see a race for 30 of the racing classics. New for this year, each car will run wholly on synthetic fuel as we see a spectacular on-track battle for the trophy. Rudge Whitworth Cup - Celebrating the centenary of Le Mans 24 Hours New for 2023, the Rudge Whitworth Cup will pay homage to the Le Mans 24 Hours, which celebrates its centenary in 2023. With a grid full of Bentleys, Alfa Romeos, Bugattis and more from the world’s greatest test of endurance, this two-driver race will feature sportscars from the very first years of Le Mans. Freddie March Memorial Trophy - The Goodwood Nine Hour Icons! The Freddie March Memorial Trophy has been a mainstay of the Goodwood Revival for many years with its mixture of stunning sports cars from the days of the Goodwood Nine Hours. As 2023 marks the 70th anniversary of the 1953 event, the Freddie March Memorial Trophy will run as our two-driver sunset race on Friday evening. Expect to see the likes of the mighty Jaguar C-Type, Aston Martin DB3S, Jaguar XK120, Frazer Nash and Austin Healey go head-to-head. Goodwood Trophy - Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from the 30s and 40s A firm-favourite amongst spectators, the Goodwood Trophy will host an impressive collection of Grand Prix and Voiturette cars from the 1930s and 40s. The Revival’s oldest race will again see the cars that raced at Goodwood when the Circuit first opened do battle on the track. Expect to see cars from ERA, Maserati, Alta and many more.
Tumblr media
Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy - Grand Prix motorcycles from the 1960s Probably the most nail biting of all the races at Revival, the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy will host a battle of 1960s Grand Prix motorcycles. Expect riding legends from the world of British Superbikes, MotoGP and the Isle of Man TT to race in this pair of two-rider tussles. St Mary's Trophy - Saloon 1950s cars Bringing the touring car battle to the Revival, the St Mary’s Trophy will host everything from Austin A40s to Jaguar MkIs and Alfa Romeo Giuliettas. Similar to the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy, the St. Mary’s Trophy switches decade each year, meaning that in 2023 it will be a collection of 1950s saloon cars taking the track by storm. Glover Trophy - 1.5-litre Grand Prix cars from 1961-1965 The Revival’s most up-to-date Formula 1 race must be one of the most anticipated tests of the historic motorsport season. Today, the Glover Trophy celebrates legendary racers including Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark and Graham Hill, with the kinds of cars they raced at the time: Lotus 25, BRM P261, Ferrari 1512. Lavant Cup - Ferrari GTs of 1960-1966 Paying homage to 60 years since Graham Hill won the RAC TT at Goodwood behind the wheel of a Ferrari 250 GTO, the Lavant Cup will welcome an entire grid of 1960s Ferrari GTs to the 2023 race schedule. Expect eye-wateringly beautiful GTOs to go up against the likes of 250 SWBs and 250 LMs in what may very well be the last time some of these cars race competitively. Chichester Cup - Formula Junior cars from 1960-1963 These tiny, yet agile racing machines will put on a magnificent battle as the likes of Lotus and Cooper go head to head. Formula Junior cars play an important part in motorsport history - the cars on track will mimic those driven by the racing stars of the 1960s and 1970s. Richmond & Gordon Trophies - 2.5-litre Grand Prix cars from 1952-1960 A race from the era that changed Formula 1 forever and the larger-engined Grand Prix cars of the later 1950s. This was the period where front-engined and rear-engined cars shared a grid, as Cooper’s backward innovation began to change the face of single-seater racing forever. The Richmond & Gordon Trophies will feature both front and rear-engined Formula 1 cars as they battle much like they did back in the 20th century. RAC TT Celebration - closed-cockpit GT and prototype cars from 1960 to 1964 Celebrating the period where flagship RAC TT racing was held at Goodwood, the RAC TT Celebration is at the very centre of historic motorsport for Goodwood. Heading into battle will be lightweight Jaguar E-Types, Cobras, Corvette Sting Rays, Porsche 904s, and more alongside a host of VIP stars. Whitsun Trophy - Sports-prototypes from 1960-1966 The fastest race of the Goodwood Revival weekend returns again with a mixture of Can-Am cars, Ford GT40s and other big-engined racers from the end of Goodwood’s active period. Together they look - and sound - incredible as they dice on the sweeping confines of the Goodwood Motor Circuit. Sussex Trophy - World Championship sports cars from 1955-1960 Filled with the likes of the beautiful Ferrari 246S Dino, Lister Knobblys and Lotus 15s, the Sussex Trophy never fails to entertain, with recent races going right down to the drag out of the Chicane to decide the winner. As the sun begins to set on the Revival’s weekend these beauties of sports car racing’s early heyday will keep everyone from leaving early heyday will keep everyone from leaving early, making it the perfect curtain closer on a brilliant three days of motorsport. Further announcements about the Goodwood Revival will be made in the coming months. The legal fallout from the collapse of crypto exchange FTX continues, with some high-profile names opting to settle while others are dismissed entirely. Crypto influencer Ben “BitBoy” Armstrong is no longer facing a lawsuit related to his promotion of FTX. Lawyers recently filed notice that they are voluntarily dismissing claims against him. Armstrong had not yet responded to the allegations in court. Meanwhile, Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence, YouTuber Kevin Paffrath, and influencer Tom Nash have agreed to confidential settlements to resolve claims against them. A judge still needs to approve the deals to officially remove them from the ongoing litigation. According to recent reports, lawyers leading the case say they are in discussions about potential settlements with other celebrities who promoted FTX, including athletes and social media stars. More deals are likely to come. The lawsuit aims to claw back money paid to celebrity endorsers and sports teams that partnered with FTX before its collapse. A recent filing revealed FTX spent millions on deals with Shaquille O’Neal, the NBA’s Miami Heat, and others. It’s uncertain how much could actually be recovered. The settlements come amid FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried’s ongoing criminal case. He faces fraud charges and is set to go to trial in October. Other recent developments include FTX reopening its claims portal following a security breach, and a judge approving the sale of billions in crypto from the company’s estate. Armstrong recently found himself embroiled in a series of controversies and allegations. One of the main accusations leveled against him is fraudulent activities, with users calling for severe consequences, including imprisonment. Some users believe that Armstrong lost a significant amount of money during a recent crash in alternative cryptocurrencies and is now attempting to scam his followers to recoup his losses. In response to these allegations, Armstrong has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. He has shared negative results from a drug test to counter accusations of drug misuse, which were initially cited as the reason for his removal from BJ Investment Holdings, the parent company of BitBoy. Armstrong labels these charges as “libelous” and “100% false,” claiming that they are part of a takeover plot against him. Armstrong has also been involved in legal disputes, including a defamation case against fellow YouTuber Erling Mengshoel Jr. However, he withdrew the case following public outcry. In a surprising turn of events, it was revealed that BitBoy has been fired from the company managing the BitBoy brand. This news was shared by cryptocurrency influencer Jason Williams, who stated that Armstrong is no longer associated with Hit Network, BJ Investment Holdings, and all subsidiary brands. Armstrong has been the face of the BitBoy brand until now. While these controversies have caused a significant stir in the cryptocurrency community, it is important to note that the full extent of the truth behind these allegations is still unclear. As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen how Armstrong will navigate these challenges and what impact they will have on his reputation and career in the cryptocurrency industry. Kaiser Darrin - The CAR Henry J's WIFE WANTED
The Kaiser Darrin, also known as the Kaiser Darrin 161 or in short as the Darrin, was an American sports car designed by Howard "Dutch" Darrin and built by Kaiser Motors for the 1954 model year. Essentially a revamp of Kaiser's Henry J compact, the Kaiser Darrin was one of its designer's final achievements and was noted for being the second (behind the 1953 Corvette) American car equipped with a fiberglass body and doors that slid on tracks into the front fender wells. The car was named both for Henry J. Kaiser, head of Kaiser Motors, and Darrin. The Darrin was conceived as part of a movement in Detroit to compete head-to-head with European roadsters being imported to and sold in the United States in the post–World War II period. Among other products developed were the Ford Thunderbird in its initial two-seat form and Chevrolet Corvette. While the Darrin was designed attractively, it was also underpowered and, while a good performer overall, did not measure up to foreign vehicles such as the Nash-Healey or Triumph TR2. The Darrin's high price tag, lack of consumer confidence in Kaiser's viability and practical challenges with the car's design resulted in low sales, though sports cars at the time were generally not fast sellers. ✅ Subscribe to Our Channel for More Cars, Tips & Resources: https://www.youtube.com/c/TwoGuysandaRide/ ✅ Stay Connected 👉 Twitter: https://twitter.com/GuysRide 👉 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/twoguysandaride/ 👉 TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@twoguysandaride ============================= ✅ SEE all of our HOW TO videos here: CarTechHowTo.com - http://bit.ly/2ZvDrbE ✅ Our Playlists: https://www.youtube.com/c/TwoGuysandaRide/playlists ✅ Other Videos You Might Be Interested In Watching: 🚘 1951 Mercedes-Benz 220 Cabriolet - https://youtu.be/b_2DiBbHtDg 🚘 POLESTAR 2 - You WILL Buy This Car! - https://youtu.be/SpONzft5iLM 🚘 DODGE Sierra Wagon with Rear-Facing Third-Row “Spectator” Seats - https://youtu.be/-4Zd83xdx2I 🚘 2022 Bennington Tritoon 23RCW - https://youtu.be/S08erqgB9dk ================================= Special Thanks to: ================================= ✅ About Two Guys and a Ride: Two Guys and a Ride’s channel is dedicated to all things automotive. Kougar Sports
Rick Stevens founded Kougar Cars in 1979, although the first (approximately 30) cars were marketed by a company called Storcourt Wells Ltd. He built the prototype in 1976 which incorporated an aluminium body, all the other cars have a fibreglass bodyshell.  Rick’s inspiration for the Kougar originated in his ownership of a Jaguar S-Type saloon but recognised that it had a scrap value of only £100 to £200. He also realised that a first-class sports car could be made by connecting the heavy lumps of the Jaguar together with a simple light weight body and chassis unit. The sports car design was not directly inspired by any particular vehicle, but he admitted to having a certain fondness for the Frazer Nash TT replica and the Healey Silverstone.Registered on 19th April 1968 as a Daimler SP250, this Kougar is now fitted with the ultra-reliable 4235cc six-cylinder XK unit, mated to a manual gearbox with overdrive. Recent work carried out on this Kougar includes removing the body, inspecting, and painting the chassis. A new rack and pinion have been fitted as have a new clutch, radiator, and new carpets.

Soulja Boy is now the CEO and owner of Atari.
I really don't know what to add to that. It's like some weird fake headline you'd see in Pluto Nash or something.
Best case scenario: Soulja keeps Atari pumping out "plug-and-play" consoles loaded with their old titles, sits back and collects his cash.
Worse case scenario: Tries to do what he did with his own "brand" of consoles and sneaks a bunch of emulators and pirated roms on the Atari VCS and sells it leading to a legal poo-storm for all of us to watch and enjoy.
A part of me wants the worse care scenario - just so I can own an official Atari console loaded with pirated software, but I'm going to take the high road and wish the best.
Atari selling to Soulja Boy feels like a desperation move to stay relevant - something they've struggled with since the 90s. It worked, it got all of us talking, but will that be enough to carry the Atari brand? Soulja is not this grand entrepreneur he sees himself as. He's a guy that made enough of a name for himself that he can slap it on a turkey baster and enough of his fans will buy it. This will be a true test of if he's actually who he says he is. Does he have the passion and the vision to do something special with Atari, or will he just continue pimping the name out like they've done since the death of the Jaguar?
Also, I take offense to the media claiming he's the first rapper to own a video game company. Have we forgot about this baller that owns Coleco?
youtube
I hate it here.
