I can't find proof, but I once called Rabbids "gaming's forced meme" without ever playing one of the games. I was being a jerk.
After playing 20 minutes of Rabbids Go Home with my kid tonight, I'm happy to say I was wrong. Not only did it get genuine laughs out of me and my kid, but the "Rabbid in the controller" section is right up there with playing with Mario's face in Super Mario 64. That's a huge compliment but trust me, it's every bit as addictive.
I understand now why Nintendo co-signed Rabbids and gave us a Super Mario x Rabbids game.
Today's lesson: My words here are opinions that can change any time with experience.
You know that awkward scene in the original Ghostbusters where Ray is dreaming of "relations" with a floaty ghost while he's dressed as Napoleon for some reason?
That ghost shows up in Ghostbusters for Sega Genesis as a miniboss in the frozen apartment level and no one ever talks about it.
One more Oscars post: Godzilla Minus One 100% deserves its hype and award. Saw it in theaters with my family because we had nothing else to do and came out knowing we just saw something special.
Even outside of the realm of Godzilla films, Minus One is just a good movie period. Give it a chance, even if Godzilla movies aren't your thing.
You can watch a movie on your Atari 2600 now. Yes really.
MovieCart is an Atari 2600 cartridge developed by Lodef Mode that allows you to load custom movies to it and play them on your real-life, honest-to-goodness Atari 2600 console.
Even if you don't want to go through the trouble of converting and loading your own movie onto the cart via SD card, the SD card bundled with MovieCart comes with Night of the Living Dead preloaded!
Check out a demo here
They're sold out for now but keep an eye on Lodef's Tindie shop for future sales.
I'm not a guy that puts stock into stuff like the Oscars, but watching Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito taunt Michael Keaton in reference to the original Batman movies are the kinds of things I need in life.
I don't care that Keaton is 72 years old. I would watch him reprise his role as Batman if it was just him ordering Burger King and complaining his fish sandwich was too soggy.
That said, I can never forgive Warner Brothers for not giving us the Dark Knight Returns film adaptation with Keaton as old man Bruce Wayne/Batman. His role in Flash was ok, but Keaton is capable of handling more complex roles and I think if he was given DKR, he'd take Batman on film to the next level.
Also, he was a better Ken in Toy Story 3 than Ryan Gosling was in Barbie, and I say that as someone who wants to be Ryan Gosling when I grow up.
Hopefully this tides you all over while we're hard at work on SMBCD updates.
A full trailer showcasing a few environments, as well as a few things to expect from SMBCD! We've posted the video to YouTube as well as a SMWC3 thread: http://youtu.be/Ue3QpLb_GQo, http://smwc.me/t/126918
