In 2022, the US market cap of the weight loss industry was $75 billion [1, 3]. In 2021, the global market cap of the weight loss industry was estimated at $224.27 billion [2].

In 2020, the market shrunk by about 25%, but rebounded and then some since then [1, 3] By 2030, the global weight loss industry is expected to be valued at $405.4 billion [2]. If diets really worked, this industry would fall overnight.

Doctors became so desperate that they resorted to amputating parts of the digestive tract (bariatric surgery) in the hopes that it might finally result in long-term weight-loss. Johnny Cash - Hurt 2002

"Hurt" is a song by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails from their second studio album, The Downward Spiral (1994), written by Trent Reznor. It was released on April 17, 1995, as a promotional single from the album. The song received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Rock Song in 1996.

In 2002, Johnny Cash covered "Hurt" for his final album during his lifetime, to commercial and critical acclaim. Reznor praised Cash's interpretation of the song for its "sincerity and meaning", going so far as to say "that song isn't mine anymore". The single contains a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" as a B-side. The music video features images from Cash's life, and was named the best video of the year by the Grammy Awards and CMA Awards, and the best video of all time by NME in July 2011. When the video was filmed in February 2003, Cash was 71 years old and had serious health problems. His frailty is clearly evident in the video. He died seven months later, on September 12.

The Johnny Cash cover was given the Country Music Association award for "Single of the Year" in 2003. It ranked as CMT's top video for 2003, No. 1 on CMT's 100 Greatest Country Music Videos the following year (and again in 2008), and No. 1 on the Top 40 Most Memorable Music Videos on MuchMoreMusic's Listed in October 2007. As of March 2016, the single occupies the number nine spot on Rate Your Music's Top Singles of the 2000s. The song is also Cash's sole chart entry on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart, where it hit No. 33 in 2003. In June 2009, the song was voted No. 1 in UpVenue's Top 10 Best Music Covers. "Hurt" was nominated for six awards at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, winning for Best Cinematography. With the video, Johnny Cash became the oldest artist ever nominated for an MTV Video Music Award. The music video won the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Short Form Music Video. In a 2014 survey conducted by the BBC the UK public voted the Johnny Cash version the second greatest cover version (of any song) of all time.

The King's Men - Chapter Twelve

Day: Friday, March 8th / 9th* Time: 10:45 PM EST

Neil swallows against the stone in his throat and tries to school his expression into something calm. He continues down the hall on feet that wanted to carry him anywhere but here. Nicky jumps to his feet when Neil steps into the den, grinning ear to ear. "Hey, Neil! We were starting to think you'd drowned in there." "I'm sorry," Neil says. Nicky waves it off, thinking Neil is apologizing for the wait, and goes to grab his bag. Neil watches them gather their things, looking from one face to the other and trying to savor these last impossible seconds. Wymack watches over them all from the corner, an unlit cigarette hanging from the corner of his mouth and a triumphant smirk still twitching at his lips. Abby is repacking her bag; she'd likely been checking on the scrapes her team picked up in the brawl. The five feet between Neil and his team could have been five thousand miles. Looking at them all, Neil is as sad as he is proud. He is destroying their chances of making it through the season, but the girls still have one more year. They'll be bitterly disappointed by the near-miss but they are fighters. They'll come back swinging next year and they won't let anything stop them. He is sorry to leave them with all of his lies, sorry they'll have to get the truth from Kevin after the fact. They are all right here with him still but he misses them with a ferocity that threatens to turn him inside-out. Only Andrew see's the strain in Neil's mask. He crosses the room to stand in front of Neil, a silent demand in his stare. Neil wants to answer that, but he doesn't know how. German is the obvious answer because it will afford them a little bit of privacy, but Romero and Jackson don't understand German. They won't know what he is saying and they will have to react like he is spilling every dark secret. Neil can't allow that. He doesn't want to leave Andrew with nothing, but what can he possibly say? "Thank you," he finally says. He can't say he means thanks for all of it: the keys, the trust, the honesty, and the kisses. Hopefully Andrew will figure it out eventually. "You were amazing." He meant it for Andrew's ears only, but Allison is close enough to overhear. She sends Matt a significant look. Neil see's it in his peripheral vision but doesn't take his eyes off Andrew to see Matt's reaction. He doesn't want to look away, as if by holding Andrew's gaze he can somehow save this moment. Then Wymack is motioning for them to head out and Neil has no choice but to turn his back on his teammates.

MORE INFO about the Shuji Sogabe ryomina doujinshi !!!

hello ryojihead nation !!!!!!!!!!!!! i hope you're all having a good day ^_^ i'm sure the vast majority of you are aware of the persona 3 manga, it's many ryomina tendencies, and it's author, Shuji Sogabe.

sogabe is also rather well-known for having written a popular ryomina doujin, イチゴちゃん SAY GOOD BYE [pictured], under the penname Kanae Kiryu. SGB was released at Comiket 73 on the 29/12/2007, around 10 months after the persona 3 manga began serialisation in dengeki maoh in february that year.

a few days before comiket, sogabe writes on his blog that he'll be handling books from kanae kiryu's doujin circle, ネコ同然。(like a cat.) on the 28/12/2007, he posts a link to kanae kiryu's blog, http://jlc.jugem.jp/ [pictured]

later, on the 14/5/2008, a post is made to kiryu's blog that he applied to, and then later announced on 22/6/2008 that he was accepted to, the ryomina exclusive event Messiah Recipe ! (webpage being: http://messiah-recipe.com)

alongside his acceptance, he also writes that he's working on a new book for the event. on the 26th, he posts again, saying the book will be called ワルツィング・キャット(Waltzing Cat) [pictured], and it was worked on alongside 蒼麻葵 (i believe their current twitter: @tasotaso_nyoro) !

NOTE: on the kanae kiryu blog it is mentioned that Waltzing Cat's front and back cover join together much like SAY GOOD BYE's does, but since very few scans of the book exist, we only have the front cover (which shows minato's hand, at least ^_^;;)

Waltzing Cat was then released as promised at Messiah Recipe's event on June 28th, 2008. (this exclusivity is probably why it's so much rarer!) SAY GOOD BYE was also reprinted to be sold alongside it. a blog post was made on kiryu's blog two days after, thanking everyone who bought books at the event. he writes:

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all the people who picked up our books at the event. It was the first time for me to participate in an exclusive circle, and I was a little nervous, but there was no big confusion on the day of the event, and the proceedings were very relaxed and peaceful. Thank you to all the staff members! I really wanted to talk to more people, but I'm a chicken at heart and it's hard to build a community.......! Once you get to know each other, you can chat as much as you want. I would like to be a little more proactive next time, since this is a place where people who like the same things can get together.

after a few more posts (mostly about p4), and then a few months of silence, kanae kiryu's blog is closed in March 2009, with a thank-you goodbye message written on 22/03/2009. the only other mention of kanae's circle i found was as part of a persona 3 2009 calendar, presumably made in 2008. link to defunct listing here: https://www.suruga-ya.jp/product/detail/988900972

Saw: 10-Film Collection will be released on March 5 via Lionsgate. Commemorating the franchise's 20th anniversary, the box set includes all ten Saw films on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital.

Created by masters of horror James Wan and and Leigh Whannell, the series consists of 2004's Saw, 2005's Saw II, 2006's Saw III, 2007's Saw IV, 2008's Saw V, 2009's Saw VI, 2010's Saw: The Final Chapter, 2017's Jigsaw, 2021's Spiral: From the Book of Saw, and 2023's Saw X.

Tobin Bell, Shawnee Smith, Donnie Wahlberg, Costas Mandylor, Cary Elwes, Dina Meyer, Betsy Russell, Scott Patterson, and Danny Glover are among the stars of the franchise.

Various special features from the films' individual releases will be included. The 11th installment is due out in theaters on September 27.

All 10 films from the franchise that created a new horror subgenre are collected here in one terrifying set. Rewind to the beginning when Jigsaw first springs his diabolically ingenious traps on the morally wayward, then travel his long road of pain all the way to Mexico in the newest entry’s untold story of John Kramer’s quest for a cancer cure, inspiring his most personal game yet.

This is my canon timeline for the Torchwood TV stories, novels, and audio productions. It's fairly similar to the wiki timeline with a few small tweaks. It's also completely spoiler free, unlike the wiki timeline.

Some entries have firm dates, some have months, some have general decades, so I've tried my hardest to fit them into where I feel they fit. Within Temptation - Stand My Ground 2004

"Stand My Ground" is the first single from Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation's third studio album The Silent Force. The song is also included on the US edition of the band's 2007 album The Heart of Everything. It became a top 10 hit in the Netherlands, Belgium and Finland, and became a top 40 hit in four other countries. It was used in the trailer for the fantasy-horror film Blood & Chocolate. The band also provided some of the soundtrack to the video game Knights of the Temple: Infernal Crusade, released in March 2005.
