"I turned over and effortlessly swam towards the harbor, moving under the surface of the water when I neared the ships. What astonished me now was that I could see beneath the water! There was enough life for my vampiric eyes to see the huge anchors lodged in the mushy bottom of the lagoon, and to see the curved bottoms of the galleys. Three things I (generally) desire to see more exploration of in future entries to TES outside of the more familiar races and locales.
1. More exploration of aquatic and distant locations. Eg. Thras and Pyandonea.
Wouldn't it be neat to have a spin off game as a Maomer or Argonian and have extensive underwater exploration?
2. Expanded lore and potentially even appearances of Imga, Lilmothiit and the "Bird men" of Cyrodiil.
You dont even need a game to do this. For example, you could have a graphic novel miniseries of the explorations of Topal the Pilot. Imagine how alien even the "familiar" locations of TES would appear that far back in time.
3. Undeath. I'm a huge fan of the creepier side of TES lore. For example, the Soul Cairn is one of my favorite zones in all of TES. There's been a disproportionate amount of lore focus on vampires and werewolves in TES relative to other paranormal entities.
I would like to see more lore expansion and exposure given towards the other various forms of undeath such as ghosts, zombies, mummies etc. It would be very fun to have a real exploration of those conditions in the same vein vampirism has received in the lore. Also I'm always up for new spooky supernatural locations to be added to TES. Who doesn't love a haunted house?
What are some fresh or alternative areas you'd like to see explored or expanded on in the future of TES?

hi! I feel a little bit bad for asking since you JUST posted "Time" (the monster handler AU), but would you mind giving any HCs/details about the verse? Like (if you need ideas):
assuming the insectoid is Roach, what're his abilities?
what is demon!Ghost's personality?
what eras are Soap & Gaz originally from?
what event led to Price summoning Ghost?
also: the moment I read that Nik was some kind of lycan, the term "bear" came to mind 😅 anyway, I always love your drabbles/ficlets! It's like getting a new episode of my favorite show! Have a great weekend...oh & what kind of monster would YOU want to be?
I don’t mind at all! I have been wanting to talk about it :)
———
Roach is indeed an insectoid! His face is mostly human but he still covers up to hide it from everyone. He doesn’t think he’s ugly or anything (some have described his face “moth-like” with ant antenna) he just had too many run-ins with people who are deathly afraid of bugs.
• He has regenerative abilities (if he loses an arm it will grow back the next time he molts). But if more serious damage is done to something like his head or chest, he won’t be able to recover from that.
• Roach has venom (it paralyzes whoever he bites but if he injects too much it can cause lasting damage to their nerves). Roach has accidentally made someone permanently lose all feeling and function in everything below their waist. Now he’s very careful when using his venom.
• He can stay underwater up to twenty-four hours before he needs to get air (this is helpful since he isn’t a very good swimmer)
• Roach is pretty strong. Not fifty times his own body weight strong but more like twenty (he has picked up a couple teammates and ran because they were in danger and the assholes weren’t listening to him).
• Roach loves sweets. He’ll eat anything without complaint (he’s eaten rotten carcasses before) but sweets are his absolute favorite.
• And, last of all, Roach can communicate and control some insects or creepy crawlies! He’s like the ultimate bug queen (don’t call him that). Flies, ants, roaches— They all listen to him. Bugs also tend to stick around him (he attracts them).
-
Ghost more or less the same. Though everyone questions if he genuinely cares about his team and the people he works with or if it’s just a ploy. He mostly sticks around Price (for obvious reasons) but he does venture out on his own (no one knows what he does). He’s good at hiding that he’s a demon and people tend to only find out when someone tells them. Ghost never likes revealing what he is to people unless the absolutely have to know (it causes distrust and that isn’t good for missions).
-
Soap is much older than Gaz and follows the old vampire laws. Cannot enter a privately owned building without verbal permission, contact with sunlight is almost always lethal, can’t tolerate garlic, can’t eat human food without projectile vomiting— all the things people know vampires for. His much older bloodline is the cause for him having to follow these strict laws (and he’s miserable because of it). Soap was turned against his will centuries ago in Scotland around 1300 (where he was born) by a woman that was supposed to be his bride. He’s long cut contact with her, not agreeing with her idea of changing him so they could be together forever.
Gaz is much, much younger than Soap. He was born shortly after WWII ended in England and was turned around 1963. He says he was turned unwillingly by vampire who he would later kill. This act should have cured him of his vampirism but he remained a vampire (it is uncertain why). Because of Gaz’s bloodline, he doesn’t have to follow the old vampire laws (sometimes he does so in a mocking/teasing way).
-
Price summoned Ghost years ago after his captain was brutally tortured and murdered by an organization that would later be revealed to be lead by Vladimir Makarov, a descendant of what people believe to be Dracula himself (though Dracula is more or less a over hyped vampire that many agree wasn’t the strongest or even a well liked vampire).
Price knew that he, as a simple human, wouldn’t be able to stand a chance against Makarov so he made a spur of the moment decision to find a way to fight him. One dug up corpse and ritual later (which resulted in the Zaragoza Drug Cartel in being massacred), Price would summon a demon that he would later name Ghost. This all happened before he met Laswell or Nik, of course.
If he had something in his life worth keeping, someone to care for or look out for him, he wouldn’t have sold his soul. But he was young, upset over his captain’s death, and he wanted to do something about it. Dwelling on it won’t change anything, so Price has just accepted that Ghost will someday eat his soul.
Until then, they have work to do.
-
Yes, Nik is a bear-like lycan. He has blond fur with dark roots which led to Price nicknaming him ‘Blondie’. Considering Nik’s human form has black hair, no one gets why Price calls him that (until they see Nik turn, that is).
-
Dragon. Dragon anything, really. Fucking love dragons omg-

Colorful Scotts - Prompt/Idea
I told you guys, I have a problem-
Anyways, Scott Clones. All are different types of hybrids as a reference to Afterlife SMP. Some are directly from Afterlife (as you will see) but others will be my own idea to fill out the colors.
Scott Clones:
Red - Vampire Scott, material girl, loves blood, confident, has a crush on Solidarity (”You’re gonna take me out? :D”), favorite blood type is Solidarity (just Solidarity)
Orange - Red Panda Scott, loves to sleep, cuddles a lot with the others, shorter than most of them because red panda, will climb in small hidey holes because cute, often with Tango because Tango is warm and red panda likes it
Yellow - Angel Scott, angel of justice, nontraditional angel, you cross him and he’ll make you regret it, has his own rules you should abide by, decorates Tango a lot in glowing jewels because he is more often than not mining for redstone and such, it’s just to help him, he doesn’t have a crush, what’re you talking about-
Green - Mothling Scott, tiny boiiiiiiii, actually hangs out with Vampire Scott the most, loves lanterns, loves Tango a lot because hair glowey like flames and ooooh light-
Teal - Normal/OG Scott, having gay panic because all his clones like Solidarity and he does too but also Solidarity is married to Tango so like what is he suppose to do? little does he know Solidarity and Tango wouldn’t mind a polycule
Blue - Mermaid Scott, underwater, loves to sing, will forget humans can’t breathe underwater because “look at my house :D”, can go on land, but only for a little, has (and will do it again) dragged Tango into the water despite Tango no knowing how to swim, he just wants blaze boy to cuddle with him-
Purple - Ender Dragon Scott, can fly, gets hurt in water, known to hoard things and people (specifically Solidarity), will teleport at random, doesn’t like Overworld food, only lets Solidarity and Tango pet behind his ears
Pink - Fairy Scott, makes flowers when walking in grass, always smiling, loves to flirt with Solidarity because it makes him flush and that’s cute, loves to make flower crowns
White - Cat Scott, obsessed with Solidarity, loves to lay on laps, always tired, purrs and meows, calls himself the “New Norman” as a joke, Solidarity doesn’t mind because loves cats
Black - Demon Scott, incubus to be exact, incubus who feeds off affection in general, doesn’t have to be just sex, physical affection is his love language, feeds off Solidarity and Tango a lot because they have so much love to give and it doesn’t bother them

Do you have book or author recs? Thank you! ☺️
I’m afraid I haven’t kept up with my reading in the past few years. Last thing I read was “I’m Glad My Mom Died” by Jeanette McCurdy (so good holy shit” but I think everyone knows that book by now. So I am going to rec some of my favorite and comfort books.
Tumblr media
This is my favorite book of all time. I absolutely love the way Peter S. Beagle writes. If you love the movie, the book makes the movie so much better. The graphic novel is also a favorite, it’s gorgeous.
Tumblr media
I can remember reading Allie Brosh online eons ago. Her first book has the best depiction of depression I’ve ever seen. And the second book in particular means the world to me. I got it a year after my brother’s passing and her talking about her grief over her sister’s death helped me understand my grief and pain. They’re equal parts hilarious and gutting. Absolute favorites that I reread every year if I can.
Tumblr media
Anything Carrie Fisher. Just like Allie Brosh she’s equal parts hilarious and gutting. I read this book when I found it at the thrift store I worked at and it’s stayed with me through three moves and more. Read all her stuff, she’s brilliant and I miss her constantly.
Tumblr media
This was one of the books my mom had on the shelf she told me not to look at. I constantly looked at it. The artwork in it spoke to me and stuck with me all through my adolescence. There’s a piece of art that I believe is part of my monster fucker origin. But the story is nice and short and it’s really fun.
Tumblr media
As a child my mom put on the universal monster movies between Disney viewings to save her sanity. Creature from the Black Lagoon was a marvel to me. The underwater scenes were my favorite. So this book and the creation of the character was the perfect read for me. Millicent Patrick is one of the coolest people to ever exist.
Tumblr media
Two of my favorite Beauty and the Beast retellings I think Robin McKinley is pretty much on everyone’s list. Beast is a really fascinating retell from the Beast’s pov, and it still strikes me to this day. (Don’t tell anyone but I stole the Beast book from my high school back in the day).
Tumblr media
When I turned 18 these were the books mom bought me for my birthday. Granted, this was also the woman who let me read Interview With a Vampire way too young so I dunno why she thought this would be such a shocking gift. Anyways, these books really introduced me to erotic writing and are probably the reason I’m even here today.
Tumblr media
Shout out to @monster-bait this book is so much fun and the characters are enchanting. I really want to get her new book but I’ve been broke and I love having physical copies. (Also I haven’t been reading lately and I’d feel bad if the book just sat there).
I’d love to have suggestions and if any of you have books out there you’ve published you’d like me to read please let me know! I’d love to support my fellow writers here before I buy anything else.

Namor x vampire soulmate
Tumblr media
"What if Namor’s soulmate was a vampire? How would he react?"
Request by anon || Thank you for the request!! I love it :) :)
First part is a bit of backstory, the rest is gonna be like how I write my headcanons.
---
Namor had always wondered who his soulmate would be. Maybe they were like him? Or maybe a surface dweller he was bound to meet sooner or later. He never knew his soulmate would be a vampire.
When you had met, he was forced to go on land. He'd had to make a deal with people from millennia ago that only resided on land. This was around the 1900's when partying was at it's peak and tales of vampires were passed around like old ghost stories.
Namor nears the 'meeting place', wanting to get the meeting over and done. He walks past an alleyway...then that's when he feels it. A feeling washes over him, one he has never felt before. So he decides to look down an alleway to see who, or what, is behind this.
That's when he sees someone crouched over, feeding on someone. It's hard to make everything out, as the alleyway is dimly lit, so he decides to approach.
He knows he should leave...but doesn't. Part of him wants to, but the other part is more interested in you, the person that's making him feel this way. 'they're a vampire' he thinks, moving closer. That's when he stops, having noticed you stop, then you turn to look at him.
Your bloodshot eyes staring into his, the cloak you wear covering part of your face. Confused, but more-so cautious, you wipe your mouth and stand, though you don't walk over to him.
"Who are you?"
Bringing your hand behind you, you grip onto the dagger in your back pocket.
"I mean you no harm." he holds up his hands, "...I am Namor. I am here simply for a meeting but I was...intrigued with you."
He's very straightforward, you note. Unsure still, you remain holding onto the dagger, ready to attack if he were to try anything.
"What are you doing here?”
He feels it again. This time, stronger, leaving him more puzzled.
That’s when you freeze, and you mimic the expression he holds. The cogs in your brain start going together, until it clicks, and the words that should come out, don’t.
For Namor, it takes a bit longer to click for him. When it does, he’s left speechless, only able to stare at you with disbelief.
They’re my soulmate?
He’s my soulmate?
-
Skip to now, and you’re living + married to him.
-
-As you're underwater, it's hard to die from the sun. Though he still does block out the windows to make sure.
-Finds ways for you to feed:
If you don't feed on humans anymore, then he'll get you animals to feed on. Or whatever you usually need to feed.
If you do still feed on humans, he'll take you out whenever you need to eat.
-As you only sleep during the day, you're up during the night. During this time you'll usually occupy your time.
-You like watching Namor as he sleeps. Not in a creepy way, more in a protective way.
-For so long you’d wondered about your soulmate.
-People could only dream of meeting theirs, though some have never been able to. So you’re beyond happy that you’re one of the ones who found theirs.
-As he can sleep, you wonder what it's like. It's been so long since you've slept, and you'd be lying if you said you didn't miss it sometimes.
-Plus being awake when he isn't means warning him if anything were to happen.
There was one time when you had nearly killed Namor.
-You had been infected with something that made you feral. When Namor had tried to help you, you'd thrown him against the wall.
-It wasn't until you were 'cured' and fully snapped back to reality that you spent so long hating yourself.
Even though he let you know that it wasn't your fault.
-
-Namor had made you a new coffin when you moved there.
-You'd told him you hadn't had the chance to fix yours up, as it had been kind of falling apart, so he came up with the idea to make you a new one.
-The coffin is one of your favorite things now.
-
-You know you'll be together for a while, as Namor ages slow, while you are immortal. However as you are immortal [unless you were to be killed] you worry a lot about being alone once he's gone.
-You're grateful for the time you do have together, though.
-
-It feels as if you’ve known eachother longer than you have. Which you find fitting.
-Everything is just perfect, just fits right. The universe had brought you to one another, decided that it was time for you both to meet.
-You can never describe how lucky you are to have found your soulmate.
-K’uk’ulkan loves that despite everything, you have continued to be with him. To love him. As nothing else matters, as he knows that your his person.
-You love that you have found your person. Through everything, through the many years of being alive, you have someone- your soulmate- who just means the world.
-Means more than you can comprehend
-Namor never thought he could love anyone so intensely, until you.
Oh how you feel the same for him.

What do you think Armand (as a vampire*) enjoys most about the beach? What does he like the least?
*I had to clarify because the mermaid Armand from your fic would probably have very different answers. 😂
Oh, I love this question! Off the bat, I would say his favorite thing about the beach is the water.
I'm neurotic enough that I thought about this before several years ago when I first read VC. My pattern orientated brain just hyperfixated over Armand & The Water. Whether by choice or force, Armand has spent the largest and most significant chucks of his life by some body of water!
He was born by the Dnieper River in Ukraine, spent his years with Marius in Venice over the Adriatic Sea, and then lived in Paris for three hundred years. Les Innocents--or the Holy Innocents Cemetery as it was actually called in real life--is right by the Seine River, and there's also the grand Fontaine des Innocents which still exists today!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Look at it, imagine Armand in the dark trying to brood and not enjoy anything every time he happened upon this hedonistic thing.
After Paris, he travelled around the world with Louis--all the countries mentioned in IWTV are by a sea or an ocean. Then they lived in Manhattan for a long time (an island surrounded by the Hudson, Harlem, and East Rivers). From there was the four decades watching over Lestat's living grave in New Orleans by the Mississippi River. Then when he settles with Daniel, it's Manhattan again, and of course... Night Island on the Gulf of Mexico. And finally, he ends up back in Manhattan in Trinity Gate.
All that to say, I don't think it's a coincidence that Armand chooses to live near water whenever he can. Furthermore, he tells us what he did love about the water as a brand new baby vampire in TVA!
What astonished me now was that I could see beneath the water! There was enough life for my vampiric eyes to see the huge anchors lodged in the mushy bottom of the lagoon, and to see the curved bottoms of the galleys. It was an entire underwater universe. I wanted to explore it further, but I heard my Master's voice - not a telepathic voice, as we would call it now, but his audible voice - calling me very softly to return to the piazza where he waited for me.
And right before that:
I floated under the sky for a while, until all the pain was gone from me.
I've thought a lot about Armand and his sensory overstimulation (entirely separate meta), and I definitely headcanon that sometimes he likes to go to the beach and go out into the water and float aimlessly for a bit when he needs a break. In my head it's sort of like a sensory deprivation tank, but of course there's more going on in the water (more beauty too).
Mask off, me being an absolute fucking NERD: Armand has always been my Water element, Louis my Fire (too easy, much too easy), and Lestat my Wind. 🥹
What does Armand like the least about the beach? Sand. It's too close to dirt, and I don't think he likes to be dirty; he had nightmares about dirt and dirt being under his fingers when he was in Venice (not to mention the trauma associated with being underground for him). I don't think it's like a pathological aversion or anything, but I do think that would be his least favorite thing here!

FotW: SDMI - Revenge of the Man Crab
Last time we talked about a not-so-dead "Ghost Truck", but we don't have to deal with any false advertising today, it's Man Crab time!
Who doesn't love crabs, they're walk funny and their eyes function like light switches! And with their giant claws and spiky shells they also make great monsters, so every series, especially if it takes place in space or underwater (which are the same thing btw) needs a Crustacean Man scuttling about.
Tumblr media
Backstory: The gang find themselves a new mystery while attending a Volleyball Tournament being sponsored by a brand new Sport's Beverage called "Trickell's Trickquid". It's apparently a "non-fat liquid diet, no calorie gluten-free moisture supplement." This is all nonsense pseudo-nutritionist jargon for "Water but not". Considering how worse the dieting industry got, this is actually a bit too safe of a satire for what that BS Machine produces.
Tumblr media
The titular Man Crab has been terrorizing the sports event, kidnapping both worker and player alike with its burrowing skills. Able to pop up from the beach's sand like a land-shark, the crab man proceeds to snatch up people in broad daylight during a match, popping up again to further destroy the nearby bleachers and stands.
The gang soon find themselves at odds with the adults, as it's a running plotpoint that the mayor - and by extension the Sheriff - wishes to capitalize on the weekly "supernatural" threats with merchandising and tours. Peter Trickell, the owner of Trickquid, also brushes off concern to not impede his profits. The group's main suspect is a recurring character named Skipper Shelton, a clam-restaurateur whose nose was taken by a wild clam (Resisting SpongeBob Reference). He's crabby because his restaurant had to be moved for the event, which happens any time the beach is rented out.
Tumblr media
Later, for their butting in the crab man kidnaps Daphne and escapes with her in tow when Fred's trap fails. Leading Fred to spiral as he's a bit of a dumb jock who can't understand his feelings for Daph - the sport he's obsessed with being trapmaking by the way.
They eventually find a cove's entrance leading to underground caverns right beneath the beach, revealing an entire system of bridges and pathways that the Man Crab's been using to travel up and out of the sand with.
Tumblr media
Design: The Man Crab is a straightforward Human-Crustacean hybrid with a red shell, mustard yellow mandibles and underbelly, and black tips on its claws and extremities. Its arms are asymmetrical, with the right ending in a gigantic and gnarly crab claw. Its left harm is more humanoid, with actual fingers on its hand, and its digitigrade legs are fairly short with two toes each.
Because of this, we don't see it walk in a way similar to a human, instead it has two additional pairs of limbs jutting out from its sides that are more accurate to a crab's real legs. Whenever the Man Crab needs to move, it grows out these extra limbs and walks with them like a spider.
Tumblr media
Its head is interesting as its entire body is muscular but meant to resemble a crab lying on its back in silhouette. It even has a cute, segmented belly that resembles a "six-pack". Its head is humanoid, but it's almost trapezoidal in shape, with mandibles peeking out from under its chin. Its eyes sit on stalks sprouting from the top of its dome-shaped head. It has cute little vampire teeth in its human-like mouth, the whole head is position in an awkward area that almost feels like it's extending outwards from the shell like a turtle.
It's such a cool design, especially when it scuttles around, and I love both its silhouette and body plan. My favorite aspect is the muscle-like flesh making up it's lips and the connecting tissues between each crevice in its shell.
Tumblr media
Reveal: After finding the Man Crab's lair the gang eventually find Daphne and the other kidnapped teens locked up in a giant cage. It's after freeing them that the Crab Man chooses to chase after the Mystery Gang to put a permanent stop to their meddling, eventually following them out of the caverns and back towards where the first trap was planted. The second times the charm, and it actually captures the Big Crab and secures it inside of a big cooking pot. The pot turns out to be too small and gruesomely tears apart the creature's legs, revealing the thing to be a robot.
And who was piloting it?
Tumblr media
Yeah, this guy. No, we don't get the gang interacting with him at all before they hand him over to the sheriff. His name is Shinji Bud Shelton, no relation apparently, and he's the real inventor of Trickell's Trickquid - which was originally called Bud's Bloosh, and Velma only figured out his identity thanks to an old photograph taken of him and Trickell in a newspaper.
Bud wanted revenge for having his idea stolen by Trickell, and probably for also being forced to work as a salesman/mascot(somehow). When asked why he didn't just sue, he states that this whole Man Crab Revenge scheme was just cheaper than getting a lawyer.
Yes, it feels really slapped together, and the Scooby-pedia points out several technical errors such as his name being "Bud Coleman" in the credits so I think it was a rush-job. In fact, Trickell never shows up during the rest of the episode and we move on from Bud's capture to focus on a new clue regarding the overarching mystery. Genuinely, I think if he just wanted revenge for being forced to dress up like a giant water bottle for below minimum wage, I'd buy it more.
6/5 - Yeah, I'm going there. Genuinely one of the best designs in the show and one of the few I'm mad are not the real deal. Don't even care about the lackluster motive, love his legs and cute crabby head.
Not accepting any counterarguments, Crab Army attack!

Can pure-blood vampires survive in outer space? We already know they can withstand being in freezing temperatures and underwater when Karlheinz dumped Shuu at the North Pole for failing school and Subaru into the sea for breaking his statue of himself. Learning about this information I have to admit, Karlheinz has top notch parenting anyone should follow. (Jk ofc)
ohhh intresting question.
SPACE VAMPIRES!!!
So being in space we gotta figure out what minimum standards we gotta say they hit to maybe be able to vibe in space. If you have any other thoughts or think I've missed something lemme know and I'll edit the post or make a part 2!
Low O2
They can survive asphyxiation...maybe. They "don't have heartbeats" so we know they don't have a human circulatory system maybe I think there's something there maybe just too low to be detected by humans. The Mukamis didn't grow new organs so they must do something. We know everything has a transport system even your cells and I've thought about what could work for a vampire with what I know. You can't have even a single celled organism (e.g bacteria, viruses, yeast) without something in them to move nutrients and waste about. When it gets to multicellular organisms like vampires or humans they can't just drink blood and vibe that blood has to be broken into parts to be used for different things and has to go to different areas....do full-blooded vampires have asses or do they just have urethras because liquid diet? Question for another day.
Diaboys bleed. Full stop, they do it's part of certain changing methods apparently and very obvious in Cordelia's death scene. They can bleed and bleeding is bad for them. We know they die from things other than silver to the heart wounds but revival is more likely to work in those cases. I think we've seen either Laito, Reiji, or both point out how absurd some of the rumours on how to kill vampires are as that would kill anyone. Either that or I'm thinking or Hotel Transylvania. They have to have something moving shit around and the fact the founders had a disease that killed them and the full-blooded vampires have blood, means they use it. And blood can't move off spite there is something moving it. So why could their heartbeat not be heard? It's smaller or slower or in a different position. In my opinion anyway.
If it's smaller that's entirely possible but has some issues. I have yet to look up the minimum size a heart could be to move blood through a 6ft tall dudebro, maybe they have a lot of valves? Not my favorite theory on it's own. Slower has a good backbone. The heart would be large enough to pump effectively but wouldn't need to due to their cells not demanding as much O2. Maybe they're yeast or something and can use CO2? Different position...no. I really don't see this being the case with how you can kill em but I wanted to list it, rule of three and stuffy. For the sake of my headcannons we're going to mix the smaller and slower theory. This doesn't necessarily mean they need O2 at all they could use CO2 already inside their bodies.
So the O2 deprevation may not kill them, unless they need some level of it. BUT pressure.
Pressure (pushin' down on me)
So, first biggy we can't explain off is pressure for two main reasons. Assuming you're human (sorry for assuming your taxonomy like that) when you first are released into space any and all gas in your body expands to match your inside pressure to your outside pressure. Then you go boom basically. If you survive that then the fluid in your body will literally evaporate due to the pressure, swelling you up like you're Violet Boregarde. I don't believe this is survivable for a vampire.
They have blood, they have tissue, they have cells. They aren't super dense metal they're made of tissue, more durable sure but tissue. So their bodies would burst. But what if they were in a pressurized suit, well then they ain't surviving outer space but I'll get to that at the end sit down.
RADIATION!
So vampires don't get cancer, they have advanced healing meaning they are way less likely to get cancer. All healing is, is cell growth. Cell growth that's too fast is where DNA copying mistakes are made hence cancer, basically. So vampires cells have something to prevent mutations better then us like the bacteria Deinococcus radiodurans. Radiodurans has a increased DNA stability to radiation so radiation can't kill the cells as easily as it takes much more of it to effect the DNA. And these dudes survive radiation worse then what's already on earth so it is probably not to survive radiation, more so to prevent DNA damage. In theory these bacteria will survive low orbit in space.
So vampires could have this in a stronger form and survive the radiation further out like that maybe? But it's also the burns that could maim or kill them but that's not concrete to me yet.
Temperature
The reason the cold is bad for you is that it slows the enzymes in your cells, an enzyme is what speeds up chemical reactions in your body to a speed that allows you to live so if they go you go.
Shu can survive the North Pole, so he can survive with reduced enzyme speeds which lines up with the slower heart beat thing. But space is colder than that. I don't think they could survive becoming a popsicle or if they do, it's not exactly thriving more so not dying yet.
But space is also HOT, get too close to the sun it's hot, or too close to a planet and gravity pulls you in and you start burning up in the atmosphere. We know heat kills these fuckers via Richter's presumed death and Cordelia's first death shows it.
So they dead on this front to.
So no space suit they're dying. But what about just long term space life in the ISS or something?
Astronaut Vampires?
One of the many reasons humans can't do space forever is largely due to your tissue losing density and getting too weak. With the diaboys faster healing they wouldn't be losing cells and replace them fast. But, the lack of gravity also plays a part in reduced density (I think, my boyfriend does physics so if I've sent this to him after posting I'm gonna be so embarrassed if I'm wrong).
The gravity part is what stumps me. They would lose some level of bone density but how fast? They must be denser to be able to smash in walls like Subaru. So maybe they can lose more before being too damaged?
Plus they still need blood. As much as they'd probably hate to admit they do actually need to somewhat rely on humans.
hmm... I went into this thinking they could live in a space station permanently. But I don't think even that's possible.
Point is space makes everyone their bitch except space bears basically.

Merchant/Jester:🍭🎭
Name:Kevin but goes by Kirby in their jester gig, doesn't mind either name to be referred too
•He/they
•Part time jester and merchant, they took up two jobs to be able to sustain their living requirements; although very exhausted. They're actually a really good jester! However, he tends to get unfocused and mess up, but it garners him more attention and laughter so at times he doesn't have to worry about it despite still being embarrassed. Previous employers from some jester related gigs haven't thought much of it, in fact they'd think he did it on purpose to be funny, so it works out well for Kevin/Kirby.
•Skinniest and lankiest of the trio
•21-22 y/o
•Jester attire is more elegant but silly, often sporting a white, baby blue and pastel pink color scheme with some gold accents. His merchant attire is the most elegant out of the two but considerably more simple than their jester attire, both have the same color scheme. It makes him look like cotton candy and the only two allowed to point this out without getting a yellow diamond esque stare is his partners.
•He's basically that image of the guy in the window with the cigarette 67% of the time but he's all lovey and blushy with his partners. He's the tallest but Salem and Ripley are shorter but considerably stronger than him and it makes them blush all the time.
Black hair but eventually dyes/puts some pink in it
•Refrigerates empty cardboard (he forgets to throw it out lol)
•The "Sweet" in 'sweet tooth bats'
Kevin/Kirby - Instagram post
Tumblr media
Shark Tamer:🦈🌊
Name: Ripley
•They/them but doesn't mind other pronouns as they are apathetic towards gendered terms specifically
•Once human but got cursed to be part fish/shark, they don't mind it but get worried about outliving Kevin/Kirby. They love their sharks and are actually happy they can swim underwater with them since the curse/transformation.
•They meet Salem and Kevin/Kirby post curse however
•Stocky but slightly toned, arms are the most toned/beefy
•20-21 y/o
•Their clothing style is more street wear-esque with a slight hint of flowiness at times but they usually wear a tube top thing and dark blue baggy streetwear type pants with rips in it with red accents.
•They also have gills on their neck and sharp teeth! They have shark like teeth but 3 specific teeth are oddly longer but Kirby/Kevin and Salem think it's cute
•They appear more human-like but the longer they're swimming or underwater the more shark-like they become! It is not an H20 mermaid situation, if they get water on them for a split second they're absolutely fine! They'll get grayish-blue skin as a result of their curse
•Darker blue and white hair
•They have a tattoo on their one shoulder!
•Can pick up both Kevin/Kirby and Salem with ease
•Melancholic personality but also mischievous; therefore they and Salem get the sillies and Kev/Kirby are just 🧍
•Due to sharks being often misunderstood, as they actually do not pursue humans but are merely curious, they also get their fair share of misunderstood situations due to the curse and also working with sharks
•Two of their sharks are named Finn and Wave
•The "Tooth" in 'sweet tooth bats'
Ripley - Instagram post
Tumblr media
Vampire/Vampyre:🦇🩸
Name:Salem Cynfael, nickname is Sally. Last name is pronounced 'Sin-fell'.
•He/they/it
•Chubby and pear shaped!! Very squishy in the face
•21-23 y/o
•They like to wear the usual cape and cravat type vampire get up but they switch it up every now and again, they just like the flowiness of the cape (it's his favorite!!) But other than that it's often seen wearing dark colors with occasional splashes of bright colors, they would like the scene and goth styles (given that they're a younger vampire)!
•They dye part of their hair red as a way to honor their deceased mother, as he has his deceased father's hair color so it combined the two colors in its hair!
•Very smiley for a vampire, often bleps which makes the other two go 🥺 bc they look so silly with their fangs in the mix of the blep, it's one of their stims!
•Has a slight accent! Is it German or Romanian?? We don't know (yet) lol
•Has umbrellas as to not get so burnt by the sun!
•fascinated with humans but most humans have appeared to be scared of him from the little interaction he has gotten with them, still wishes to be friends. Thinks they're "Full of life;" Salem only drinks animal blood if he absolutely needs to, other than that he doesn't drink blood.
•The "Bats" in 'Sweet tooth bats'
Salem - Instagram post
Tumblr media
Other notes:
-Salem is loosely based off of Oskar from School for vampires!
-Ripley is loosely based off of Kisame Hoshigaki (Naruto) and Splatoon!
-Kevin/Kirby is named after the lil pink creature Kirby and also Kevin from spooky month!

whos ur fave octonaughts character :0!! if u have on ethat is
(also adding what mbti I think they r bc mbti is one of my current hyperfixations sort of!!)
When I first watched it (which was a decade ago now that I think abt it..) my fave was probably Peso tbh, I found him a bit relateable and cool I guess and good at reassuring and helping sea creatures! He reminds me of Fluttershy from mlp:fim INFP(?J). Also definitely autistic imo
I think I feel like an affinity towards Shellington bc he seems like me interest wise and a bit personality wise bc I rlly like biology and wanted to be a marine biologist for a bit when I was younger and he seems to infodump a lot and I do that abt similar interests!(there are many benefits to being a marine biologist /ref) INTP and also autistic and adhd
I find Kwazii to be the most entertaining character. He's always up to things and it feels like a lot of the comedy in the show is centered around him. Probably the character that was meant to have the audience's attention more. It's also kind of amusing how he's usually like fearless but extremely scared of the cryptids he claims exist(like Vampire Squid but his own idea of it before he meets the vampire squid). I think he contrasts with Peso, who's usually anxious but is seen overcoming fear or not being afraid when a sea creature needs help ENTP (some would say S but the way he sees cryptozoology and pirate stuff seems more N to me) adhd and perhaps HPD and/or NPD
Tweak is one of my favorite characters too, she's cool and it was fun to see her explain things about the gups, octopod, and other tech stuff! ISTP, also autistic + adhd
I think Inkling's also pretty cool and he reminds me of Bedtime Bear from utm a bit? I also relate to him bc like I guess I like knowing information even if Im like the used to read a lot, now only really reads fanfiction type and I may seem like him personality wise to some people INTP or INTJ, autistic
I also think Dashi is cool! Her interest in photography is cool and I relate to that and also I think needle arts (forgot though if she does that in canon or its a hc someone had tbh) which I also do a bit!! It's also cool how she does things efficiently (not relateable to me but still cool), probably a gaymer, hard for me to type bc I think idk she seems like a Normal type and Ice type in pokemon type personality thing, she seems INFJ or ISTJ, maybe INTP
I used to ship Tweak x Dashi (though it doesn't make sense in canon to me, only as speculation now) and Kwazii x Peso (similar but they interact a lot in canon and seem like foils to each other), and sort of Kwazii x Paani, those aren't really at the forefront of my mind when I think about octonauts now but like I'm plato repulsed so can only really stand thinking of characters as being partners or like just knowing each other exists/working together in a positive or neutral way?
Though Kwazii x Peso x Shellington I hadn't thought of until I saw some posts about it but I guess it reminds me of some of my partners even if I didn't see Shellington as having as many interactions w the other two in canon, But also the way I see shipping changed after realising Im aro and maybe also just as I got older so maybe I just don't have as much interest in canon x canon shipping now as I did a few years ago
Not really a character but I think the octopod's really cool!!! I always loved the design of it and it looks rlly cozy!! The gups are also very cool and I like how they're inspired by sea creatures! I like to think that Tweak maybe consulted Shellington for some sea creature inspired aspects of some of her inventions! Also. Like Kwazii often ending up w damage on the Gup-B totally reminds me of Funshine and the scooters in utm(especially in that comic!)
Favorite sea creature in it is probably siphonophore (I learned a lot of marine bio facts from the show tbh!!) and favorite phenomenon underwater brinesicle thing and the undersea vents r also cool!!
I still need to finish Octonauts Above and Beyond, I started it last year and it was p cool! Some of the octoagents have names that are noun names in other languages that fit the work they do and I thought that was cool too!! (Paani - water in Hindi - he's a hydrologist) (Professor Natquik - Inuit language - it has various dialects and Im not sure which one(s) have this word?- word for drifting snow/ice )

Thank you @mollymagician for the tag! This was a fun distraction from things I should be doing, so very very welcomed!
What ship were you completely obsessed with as a teenager, but now you don't care about anymore?
hmmm... I suppose I had a few, but off the top of my head, I'd say either Hawkeye/Trapper or Hawkeye/Margaret from MASH or Duncan/Methos or Methos/Amanda from Highlander the series
Which ship would you consider your first one?
Probably Hawkeye/Margaret MASH, little me was very much into that show and loved all the potential hurt/comforts
Your first fanfic was about which couple?
Honestly, could have been any of the above, but the first ships and fandoms I shared any fics for would have been for Interview with the Vampire, having read the book and then been unable to stop myself from writing
Do you remember the first couple you saw fan art of?
I don't remember what I ate for breakfast when I woke up at noon (which wasn't that long ago)
Have you ever gotten into ship discourse?
Not really, just blocked people and curated my online enough to avoid it
Did you use to have any NOTP or have one currently?
Not really? Idea, I have ones that are just really aren't faves but I will read fics about them if compelling enough
Who were the last couple in the last fanfic you read?
Tony Stark/Steve Rogers
Currently, do you have any OTPs?
Too many to list or even try to list--fickle and free, my heart loves deeply but doesn't like to commit--you'll find that one day I'm endeared to a pairing and the next I love another--but thankfully, for my own sanity and those that read my stories, I always come back around to each and everyone, even if it takes a bit of time
Is there any couple that, to this day, that you are extremely mad about not getting into?
I don't think so?
Is there any ship you used to dislike but now you think they're kind of interesting?
Not really
Do you have any ship that, in the past, would have been considered normal but now you would be cancelled over?
Never really paid attention enough to notice or care, definitely ship things that piss off people though, both past and present
What is your favourite crack ship?
JARVIS with Darcy is honestly one that I kinda love--though really, is anything truly crack if you believe in yourself enough when writing it? Because if the writer is confident enough, the reader will not just accept those crazy things, but might even fall in love with them. Crack treated seriously is honestly a favorite trope of mine
What is the couple you read the most fanfics about?
😅😂 aim a round of buck shot at AO3--I am chaos incarnate in what I read and how I find it. Rhyme or reason does not exist. Simply vibes. But I suppose, in spirit of the question, I can narrow it down to Buck/Eddie of 911, Dream/Hob of Sandman, and Steve/Tony of Marvel
What do most of your ships have in common?
usually the potential for power imbalances--be it physical, financial, emotional, sexual, you name it--and not necessarily in a healthy way, though just because I like pairings with that potential, doesn't mean I don't also love ones with potential for comfort and softness
What do you absolutely hate in a ship?
Nothing really? I don't think?
tagging @plotbunnypettingzoo @buckybeardreams @kingofdarkness00 @father-salmon @underwater-ninja-13 @limetimo @thefangirloutof-time @mammameesh @bluesimplicity73 @skrybspryt and anyone else that wants to do this

What interesting things have you gotten interested in, in these past few interesting months, my interesting friend
Well, well-well-well-well, welllllll, a few thing-a-ma-bobs. But it's mainly been 4 fandoms that have come and intergrained themselves in my grey matterspace.
Disco Elysium is pretty obvious with some of my recent posts, BUT I've really only gotten 5 or so hours into my first playthrough so far and from what I can guess, it is nowhere near the end for me. I'm gonna try and get back to it sometime soon, but it's just been a case of notyet getting into the mindset to play a deeply written detective-human psychology-political story novel, to the surprise of myself. It's highly enjoyable, don't miscontrue my words, but it's an undertaking.
Speaking of politics, guess which underwater, steampunk, civil war simulator franchise I've played and has shot to the top of favorite games of all time? Yeah, Bioshock 1 and 2 had knocked my socks off with their presentation and story than I had first expected. I knew the games were classics, but I had just thought they wouldn't interest me since I'm kinda lukewarm on the steampunk genre admittedly. But Rapture as a whole had made me engrossed with every inner working and system in the sunken city, not withstanding the competing and aggressive interactions between the personification of political stances called Andrew Ryan, Sofia Lamb, and Frank Fontaine. Lovely games and my heart is sent to every Big Daddy and Little Sister down there, specially Delta.
Oh, and Infinite? ...i-it's fine. Like, I liked looking at the grim alternate history of Columbia (which is another reason Rapture had grabbed me) and I got used to the gameplay and feeling of being akin to Half-Life 2, but the ending kinda fell super flat on me and I wasn't a fan of how they intergrated parallel worlds into the story. And less said about Burial at Sea, I'll give you as many sugardoodles as need be.
Now back to our normal scheduled program, and by normal, I mean bizarre. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. Good segueway, I know. But yeah, Jojo has occupied a lot of brainspace in me too recently, which is rare for an anime to do so for me. But fuck me, did the story grip me by Part 2. I had felt like it had finally start to get it's narrative grip by the time I had seen the Pillar Men emerge to be cool, strong, honorific yet bastard vampire dudes. It may have also been the gay talking and Joseph being iconic. But what sucks about my situation is that I'm not far into Part 3 because I've been watching through it on a friend's behalf and her schedule hasn't aligned for it for the past month, so I'm stuck in a purgatory of waiting to get the full context of scenes through the actual story while I tiptoe around spoilers when watching content made by Jojo fans, and it kills me more when I slowly feel like I'll fucking ADORE Parts 5, 6, and 7 when I get to it! Basille, you bitch (affectionate), WATCH JOJO WITH ME!
Ahem, sorry bout that, let me get to the last thing right quick. Risk of Rain was yet another thing recommended to me by a friend and I've had my fair share of enjoyment playing through both of the games. The first game's style is wonderfully Terraria feeling for a guy that knows that Terraria is not my speed in the slightest, and I had a fair bit in fun in completing the game with every survivor. Risk of Rain 2 has been even more fun but also more infuriating as another result, since I really like the transition into 3d and how the game feels much more smoother to play, but I've grinded myself at trying to beat the game even once after 30+ attempts that it has burned me out even when I get a good run. Maybe it's just because I complete stages too slowly, but I can't help but wanting to complete shit. I've gotten to Mithrix once and have been waiting to taste that wonderful feeling again. And what is another kick in the pants is how RIsk of Rain Returns has released but isn't on consoles beside the Switch and I want it!
Oh, and I don't know if I had said this outright, but I had seen Ultrakill about a year ago and have been still into that, but even moreso now, soooo I guess that counts?

Tea and Books Asks
Tagged in by @littledreamling , @mathomhouse-e , and @quillingwords thank you!
1. What period of history do you enjoy learning about?
As long as it's not the fucking founding of America and drafting of the constitution, again, we're golden
2. Who is your favourite fictional character and why?
Of all time? Impossible. Current fandom specifically? ...uh. Kind of also impossible. But I think if pressed Hob might just barely edge out Dream in the standings. Because? Because...his vibes? Immortal Everyman who's not all woe-is-me this-life-is-misery is a delight and idk he's just got that je ne sais quoi that makes me smile and say 'That one, that's my favorite'?
3. What do you order at a café?
It's a rare occurrence but. Some sort of coffee, extra sweet, extra whichever flavor added. Caramel and pumpkin spice are both excellent
4. Libraries, botanical gardens, or art galleries?
Of the three, I've only ever been to libraries, so, that
5. Do you have a favourite film soundtrack?
Beauty and the Beast 1991 probably. The score tracks on that just. Do things to me. Fond of a lot of Hans Zimmer's work as well (Lion King, PotC off the top of my head) and I keep circling back around to the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves soundtrack every few years
6. What does your dream home look like?
Underwater. With bits above water too, maybe half and half, but the important things I've always wanted are submarine airlock entryways and enormous windows with an underwater view. Not too far from civilization either
7. What makes you feel better on gloomy days?
Long solo drives with good music played loud
8. What are your top three films? Books?
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home; The Princess Bride; Beauty and the Beast
I've read fanfic almost exclusively the past twenty years but, let me think...I was very taken with the Shannara series by Terry Brooks in high school; I spent some time on the Vampire Chronicles after that and The Vampire Armand was my favorite (because Armand was my favorite more than because it was actually a good book)
9. Are you an organized person, generally?
...Ish. I dislike clutter and mess, but I wouldn't really classify myself as 'organized' by any standard measure of the word
10. Do you have a favourite classic novel?
...I am extremely fond of Alice in Wonderland and Wizard of Oz both but more for their permutation into pop culture and malleability therein than for their actual books specifically
11. What character archetype or trope is your favourite?
I have a laundry list, and they're generally best when multiple tropes are blended in one character. But maybe...let's go with The Foreigner, The Outsider, the one who often holds up a lens to humanity or whatever majority/default group is involved to offer commentary, try to understand, and who is perpetually Apart from them, usually unable (or unwilling) to quite blend in or assimilate completely even when they may be welcomed and accepted.
12. Do you prefer baking or cooking?
...give me a relatively simple recipe with clear instructions and I'll probably be okay, in either arena
13. Which season do you feel at home in?
In my current climate? Summer. Summer means I can get out and go places and do things. I love autumn in theory but in practice it's far too short, far too cold too quickly, and just a very depressing reminder of the half-a-year of winter that will follow
14. What is your opinion on poetry?
It should absolutely exist, integral facet of humanity, etc. Not really anything I actively seek out, however
15. Do you speak formally when texting and emailing?
Emails are nearly always business related whether home or work, so yes. Texts are not exactly formal but it's rare that I'd ever fail to capitalize, use copious abbreviations, etc. Punctuation droppage depends entirely on who I'm talking to and whether I need the clarity punctuation can provide
16. How do you organize your music playlists?
Haaaaaah. Let me count the ways:
- by artist, when I want The Good Tracks from their discography (and related projects) in chronological order
- by genre
- by pairing - many pairs have multiple permutations of their playlist also
- by character
- by character group
- by theme (e.g. Moon, Aquatic, etc)
- by mood
- by fic inspiration/writing soundtrack
- I have playlists for Disney movies where I put the songs and score pieces back in movie order since the soundtracks always group them separately and I also leave out the shitty radio versions of the songs
- I also have a playlist with all my individual Disney playlists combined in chronological order by movie release date
- by vibes
- by which family member I'm driving with
- I have a playlist for stuff that's in (or contains sections that are in) 3/4, 6/8, and various other non-4/4 time signatures
- I have a couple different playlists of favorite voices
- there's a giant playlist where I dump all the stuff I've rated 4 or 5 stars (some 3s may also get included), sorted by play count, for when I don't know quite what I'm really in the mood to listen to
- aaaaaaand then I usually have two or three playlists in constant flux for whatever I'm really craving to listen to at this particular point in time
17. Who is your favourite author?
Can't say as I have one
18. Chai or hot chocolate?
Chai
19. Do you prefer forests, sea shores, or meadows?
Sea shore, hands down
20. If you were to cultivate a fruit orchard, what would you grow?
Everything I would name I have developed allergies to so. Maybe not. Kinda sucks.

I’m gonna share with you all some of my most favorite Dinos! They are all precious little babies and I love them more than anything in the world. And I wish I could give them all a hug and a forehead kiss and little snuggles.
The obvious is velociraptors! I don’t think I have to show you what those look like, lol.
Carnotaurus:
These bad boys were Theropods! They lived in South America around the late cretaceous period. They were carnivorous and suspected to be one of the fastest large theropods that ever lived.
Tumblr media
Therizinosaurus:
Also a member of the late cretaceous period, Therizionsaurs' were a large genus of Therizinosauridae. They lived in the Asia area. Their most distinctive feature would be their gigantic claws. They adapted to live an omnivorous lifestyle.
Tumblr media
Ceratosaurus:
These fellas were carnivorous theropods in the late Jurassic Period. They had a larger horn in the middle of their snots, and two smaller horns over their eyes. It was unlikely their nasal horns were used as weapons, but more as a display to seem more threading. They likely preyed on herbivores.
Tumblr media
Baryonyx:
Back to the early cretaceous period, baby! Specifically the Barremian stage of the cretaceous period. Another species of theropod, the first skeleton was discovered in England. Baryonyx means “heavy claw” and these beasts are now recognised in the Spinosauridae family. They were the first dinosaur discovered to be fish-eating, and they had semi-aquatic habits.
Tumblr media
Linhenykus:
Fancy, fancy, these are Alvarezsaurid theropods, also belonging to the late cretaceous period, found in Mongolia, China! They are the only known non-avian dinosaurs to have a single digit, aka one finger. They were small-bodied and would use their “finger” to dig for things like ants and termites. I just love how derpy they look with their little fingers.
Tumblr media
Gigantoraptor:
Finally a non-theropod, we have an oviraptorosaur on our list. Found in Asia in the late cretaceous period, the first remains were found as recently as 2005! They were less likely to have grown feathers than other raptor species. They were bipedal omnivores and died younger than other larger theropods. The bottom half of their beaks were lacking in teeth.
Tumblr media
Jeholopterus:
Back in the late Jurassic period, we have these small anurognathid pterosaurs. They were also found in Mongolia, China and were preserved with the skin! That’s crazy! Originally considered to be insect-eating, they also preyed upon fish and even omnivores They were nicknamed “Vampire Dinosaurs” Because they drank the blood of the other dinosaurs. I think it’s obvious why I enjoy them.
Tumblr media
Spinosaurus:
Their name literally means “Spiney Lizard” which makes them certified babies in my book. And what do you know, they are classified as Spinosaurids.  They were in the North African area, during the Cenomanian and Turonian stages of the late cretaceous period. They are the largest know terrestrial dinosaurs! They were fish-eating and also hunted terrestrial prey. Obviously, their most well-known feature was their Spines, and they were so pretty! Their high bone density allowed for better buoyancy, and their tails allowed for faster propulsion underwater. Their dorsal sails were used for thermoregulation, but it's unknown whether they were also used to intimidate other predators or to draw in mates. I give them ten “spiney boys” out of ten!
Tumblr media
Quetzalcoatlus:
Similar to the word: hippopotomonstrosesquippedaliophobia, Quetzalcoatlus, is just really fun to say. Great vocal stim! They were Pterosaurs found in North America during the late cretaceous period. They’re members of the Azhdarchidae family, which are toothless pterosaurs with long, stiff necks. They ate fish and carcasses of titanosaur sauropods. They were INSANELY tall, like freakishly so. As much as I love their funny-looking heads, this is a dino I would run the other way from if it approached me. In fact, I think I’d be more scared of most pterosaurs than any other predator front that time period, because what the fuck?
Tumblr media
Ichthyosaurs:
And last, but certainly not least, because this app only allows ten photos per post, we have these little ocean boys. Onto the only reptile on my list, they were found during the Mesozoic era of the late cretaceous period. Their skeletons were first found in Egland.  They look most similar to modern-day dolphins. Which, I am terrified of those little fuckers by the way, no not the ancient distinct reptiles, fucking dolphins! Rode one once, never again.  This is another species I like solely for its looks, it's so dumb-looking and I want a plushie of them.
Tumblr media
Did I just spend way too much time basically writing a mini-essay on dinosaurs? Maybe? Should I be asleep right now? My therapist would say yes. Am I now gonna go watch video essays on more dinosaurs to finish calming down my brain for the night? Yes again! I also forgot to eat dinner tonight because I was so upset, so I'm gonna et up and make dinner for breakfast in the morning, so I can have something more nutritious than cereal. Let me know if you guys wanna hear about more Dinos or my other special interests!

For the fanfic writer ask game! ^_^
🎁 🌻 💌
ugh, thank you so much, you're such a top-shelf mutual. 😭💞 my girl went to work a little bit ago and i am so bored without her around, life is a void.
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
oh for sure, i'd love to!
i haven't worked on a D:BH fanfic in a couple months 'cause i've been in simon snow purgatory, it is all vampires and wizards and dragon boys in my brain these days, but i do (!!!) plan on finishing my convin Titanic AU, so i'll share a snippet of that (that i hope i haven't already shared with you before lmao), plus, since i mention unrequited love diseases in one of my other answers here, i'm also gonna add a snippet from one of my back-burner simon snow drafts.
both are below the cut (i lied about the cut, Tumblr won't let me add one) (i tried like four times, this app is so rude) at the end! 😄
🌻 How often do you read your own fics?
oh, very often. the thing about me and my fanfics is that, while i don't post things much at all, i am always writing. i have sooo many first drafts lying around that'll probably never be seen by anyone but myself, some of them are even written longhand in physical journals.
for a long time, i've written with myself as my only intended audience. and i mean, most of the time i'm still my only audience, i have a very nervous personality and sharing things makes my brain itch a bit. (but y'kno, i am working on that.) (i've been doing six sentence sundays and wip wednesdays with the simon snow fandom the last two weeks and that's been a delight.) (a terrifying delight, but still a delight.) so yeah, i actually sit around and like… read my own fanfics for fun all the time, over and over again. i'm extremely fond of my own stories.
💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?
unrequited love diseases.
and i don't just mean hanahaki disease, although i do love writing hanahaki fanfics, i'm also really fond of star tears disease and forgotten love syndrome (and anything else in that general sphere).
i'm not working on it actively at the moment because i'm focused on a different story right now, but i actually have a draft in my gdocu for a simon snow fanfic about a fatal unrequited love disease i created myself called marigold's heart syndrome. i dunno what it is about love diseases that makes my silly brain light up like a string of fairy lights, but i find them so overwhelmingly tragic.
(if anyone else feels like hanging out, questions are here!)
— CONVIN
Connor doesn’t let himself wonder if his own mother ever looked at him that way. If she ever smiled at him warmly, touched his cheeks like he was precious and irreplaceable, combed the curls back from his forehead while he slept. Things he should remember, but doesn’t. He focuses instead on the slender line of the woman’s brow, the owlish shape of her eyes, the slope of her mouth as she smiles, and drags his charcoal across the page. Trying to capture it. A wet thumb rubs at his chin. Connor cringes away without looking up from his work. “Silas.” “You got that black shit on your face,” Silas says. He leans forward to peer curiously at Connor’s sketchpad. The shadow of his dark curls, identical to Connor’s own in every way but the direction he parts them, falls across the top half of the page. “Dunno why you waste your time with that, Connie. S’not like you make any money from it.” “It’s called a hobby. Some people actually have those. You should...” Connor looks up, “... should... try it.”  His fingers hold weakly to his charcoal. His pulse beats strongly up his throat. All at once, the world becomes soft and muted around him. Distant. Like he’s been plunged underwater. Near the edge of the veranda, drenched by the strawberry sunlight, a man leans over the rails. Weight on his elbows, his forearms extended out and relaxed above the drop down to the lower deck. A cigarette hangs from between his teeth with a thin ribbon of white smoke twirling from the tip. He looks sad, Connor thinks. Lonely, and terribly beautiful. Light-eyed, olive-skinned. Long and lean and frayed at the edges like a sheet of weathered parchment paper. His waistcoat is unbuttoned and hanging open around his hips, while the rest of the first class maunders behind him like an expensive quatrefoil fog. “Connor!” Connor blinks, and the world comes tumbling back into focus. He looks down at his sketchpad, at the single dark, distracted line marring the outline of what should’ve been the little brown-haired girl, then back up at his brother. “What?” Silas cocks an eyebrow at him, knowing and unimpressed. “Don’t even think about it.” “I won’t. I mean, I wasn’t.” Connor sets his charcoal aside, turning to unfurl his pencil case. A soft, battered green cloth one with seven leather loops stitched along the inside, each of them sized to hold a different one of his tools. He pries his old, sticky eraser out of it. “I don’t even know what you’re talking about,” he mutters, then sets to work trying to salvage his sketch.
— SIMON SNOW
September ends. October passes. November begins. A few things happen in between: One, Simon meets Natasha Grimm-Pitch. Or, well—he meets her ghost. And she’s terrifying. Even in death, she is a woman who commands attention and, for all her immovable melancholy, she holds with her an air of intense regency. He could feel her magic in the room with them, and it was white-hot and ancient. Like something from the very core of the Earth. Two, Baz comes back, and Simon promptly forgets why he’d ever given half a shit about the toff prat being gone in the first place. They’ve worked out something of a truce with each other, (it would’ve been nice if Natasha Grimm-Pitch’s visit had only been a courtesy call, but of course things can never be that simple, so now Simon has gone and roped himself into solving her apparent murder,) but suppose that truce must not extend to Baz cutting back on being a right shit about everything because his mood is fouler than ever and, for once, Simon really doesn’t have the energy to deal with their whole bloody song and dance thing they do. Because he’s still sick. Because three, somewhere in the middle of scouring the Catacombs and razing the Wavering Wood and his sworn enemy’s dead mother appearing in his bedroom, Simon started coughing up flower petals. Baz likes to tell Simon he’s an idiot. And sometimes Simon believes him, but most of the time he doesn’t—because he’s not an idiot. (Also because Baz is a fucking twit.) He knows what the petals mean. He’s seen flower spitting disease before.
