#i’m part of the demographic where i was a kid when adventure time started and now watching fionna and cake as an adult makes me emotional #because did they keep us in mind when writing fionna and her attitude towards life #the dissatisfaction #the hoping for something more #something more magical than this dreary life filled with working to live and living to work #it’s so reflective of how life feels for me and perhaps many of us #and also Simon’s episode was so sad but so well thought out #exploring his feelings after the events of the adventure time finale is something I’m glad we get to see #there were already so many layers to his character in AT but now it feels like we get to dive deeper #I also felt emotional hearing Rebecca Sugar singing and writing a song that encapsulates his feelings so well #😭 it’s been awhile seeing her work exist alongside these characters #and all of these emotions get stronger because I remember AT being the one to inspire me to be a storyboard artist #when I was younger I used to follow many of the board artists here in tumblr and would get so inspired by them #to create simple but powerful boards that can capture the feelings of characters so well #Rebecca Sugar’s songs for the AT characters inspired me so much too #I’m sorry this is long I’m just feeling so many things experiencing all of this again as an adult #my art #fanart #adventure time #fionna and cake #fionna the human #cake the cat #simon petrikov

last night i watched the first episode in supernatural and within 10 minutes i put it on pause because in NO way, through the 15 seasons, should anyone be happy with how dean's story ends with him dying whilst hunting

because in the 10 minutes that ive learnt about him is that he's spent his entire life fighting, and he dies FIGHTING

no satisfying narrative ends like that, especially not for one thats run for 15 years

Oh, actually, this is really exciting. There are some interesting parallels between Yuji and the white dog (Shiro) _ They both died on the same day _ They are friendly _ Both are trustworthy _ Megumi was very attached to Shiro

In most mythologies, the white wolf symbolizes protection, intelligence, sociability and compassion, being the antagonistic part of the black wolf. Yuji is also associated with the white tiger of Byakko, the protector of the western cardinal point (I talked about it in this post), which ended up becoming his nickname at his old school.

The curious point is that one of Megumi's Shikigami is also a tiger that has not yet been shown, which makes him doubly linked to Yuji. It's interesting for me to see how Megumi and Yuji complement each other, whether it's Megumi being the duo's strategist and Yuji the muscles, Yuji being a melee fighter while Megumi is better at long distances. Black and white, like yin yan.

I wonder if the wolf thing was intentional or just an aesthetic choice, although I doubt Gege would approve of something like that if it wasn't to create parallels. This man likes to pair manga with anime. Overall, I'm just rambling on about these. After the last chapter, I'm getting impatient with the manga and Gege Akutami.

I was so hyped for this episode because usually the Bad Kids’ battles have some kind of story element or higher focus that keeps you kind of grounded in the main plot line but this episode was just pure raw combat, which as we can see is what the Bad Kids are great at! Like looking at the odds, all of which are stacked against you, facing against what is supposed to be your end, your death, your last fucking stand and saying no? Saying I choose to live? Saying I choose to laugh in the face of danger and embrace the love of the moment? That is what the Bad Kids live for. And then it honestly became so much better because you’re so deep in the fact that they’re aceing this, they have most of their questions, they’ve killed so many monsters, they can and will do this because they’re the Bad Kids! Breaking and making rules and standards and records is their shit! That you forget about the big plot, the core of it all, and then Kipperlilly is there to sabotage them but can’t so she chooses to kill one of two people who could bring them back and takes the ability away from the other because she thinks they’ll die because that’s how she views them. She doesn’t see the determination or the raw power in these kids she just knows what’s supposed to happen and leaves them with no way back when it does except it doesn’t, except they don’t need the revivify or the spare the dying or the death wards because this is what they were made for. They looked inevitability in the face and said no. They chose mercy on their enemies and embraced love so hard that they gained two new allies from it. It’s all love now
