Happy Earth Day!
To celebrate, we're putting our Dream Stockings line on sale:
22% off all day, no code needed!
Most items in the Dream Stockings line are made using regenerated cotton and other fibers, which are taken from the waste of making various clothing products (never from worn garments).

Dream Stockings
Custom made for Sock Dreams in the USA, most of these styles are totally unique to our company! Knitted on antique machines, DreaM Stockings are a funky, modern take on vintage legwear. They may not feature the kind of sock construction you’re used to, but their peculiarities are what make them so special! While this collection includes plenty of wild stripes and super-long socks, it also includes some great basics, at some of the best prices you’ll find. Most of our DreaM Stockings are made from regenerated cotton blend yarns, and are then packaged with a simple, recycled cardstock tag, tied with yarn.  Sock Dreams is proud to offer socks that do not waste precious resources.
Also, free stickers!!!

Shopping for bed linens in the Scratched and Dented aisle.
I tried one of those other made in USA brands before and felt, to quote Johnny Rotten, “like you’ve been cheated”. So I was cautious with a trial order at Redland Cotton.
I was really pleased. These are sturdy, grown and made in the USA sheets that promise years of use.
So I tried out their “seconds"sale a few weeks back because I am a cheap thrifty New Englander. Folks, I’ve yet to find a defect.
Now, some of you may be asking, "Yeah, but I put these on my bed. Suppose I spot a defect in them?
To which I gently suggest that if you are spending your time in bed inspecting the quality of your linens you are doing a lot of things wrong.
For a FREE lesson, write me care of this blog.

Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and other brands were buying clothes from a 'sweatshop' that paid just $1.58 an hour — in California
Clothes with a "Made in the USA" tag account for a small fraction of sales in the American market, typically coming with a higher price tag. But when federal investigators looked at 50 contractors and manufacturers in Southern California, the heart of the domestic garment industry, they discovered that 80% were breaking one or more provisions of US labor law, according to the report published Wednesday.
Over a third of garment makers falsified their payroll records, investigators found, while more than a quarter kept no documentation at all. And while California in 2021 banned piece rate wages, where workers are paid based on how much they produce, the Department of Labor discovered that 32% of those investigated were still doing it, resulting in take-home pay that sometimes fell below the legal minimum.

I’ve been carrying a Mora fixed blade at work lately and I’m considering getting one of these for EDC. I love to see people carrying EDC fixed blades. I want to be one of those people. My only fixed blade that’s not strapped to a chest rig is a Randall Made Combat Companion Full Tang that was ordered by my father for me while I was deployed in 2011. The Mora is a nice beater but I want a classier knife for going to town.

One of my favorite American cheeses in recent memory. Soft, pungent and funky with a hint of fruitiness. Not sure if it was the aging or the beer wash, but this was a next level Willoughby from Jasper Hill and Ommegang. Went back for more and it was sold out. And not coming back in stock as it was seasonal. Bummed. If you find some, I highly recommend buying one.

Wrap skirt available on Kickstarter next Tuesday, June 6th!
Starting June 6th, you’ll be able to preorder Skirtcraft’s wrap skirt, The Tellurian, on Kickstarter! It features an adjustable waist, greater overall size range, and sustainable materials.
Tumblr media
Preview here, with an option to be notified on launch:
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/skirtcraft/unisex-skirts-3
It’s an all-or-nothing crowdfunding campaign: if we reach the goal, production will begin and backers are expected to receive their skirts in August. Backers won’t be charged until the campaign ends, and won’t be charged at all if we don’t reach the goal. The campaign will run for about two weeks.
Tumblr media
(front)
Backers get a discount: one skirt is $79 (USD) + shipping. Once the Kickstarter campaign ends, if it succeeds, the price will be $89 + shipping.
Tumblr media
(back)
The Tellurian is our 3rd unisex skirt with large pockets, because skirts and pockets are for everyone. Our skirts are made in the USA, because garment workers deserve fair pay and good working conditions.
Tumblr media
The Tellurian is a wrap skirt whose adjustable waist means:
You can adjust it to fit perfectly
No one should find themselves between two sizes with neither fitting well. If you’re right on the line, either size should work.
Since each size spans a greater range of waist measurements, figuring out your size is easier in most cases
Across its five sizes, the Tellurian has an overall waist size range of 26-54″ (65-138 cm) — much greater than our previous designs!
Tumblr media
The Tellurian (meaning “of the earth”) is made of 100% organic cotton. Compared to most fabrics, organic cotton’s production:
emits less carbon
uses less water
causes less soil and water contamination
And as a natural fiber, washing it creates no microplastic pollution.
Tumblr media
The color options will be black and natural. Backers will select their color and size via a survey at the end of the campaign.
If you haven’t backed a Kickstarter project before, check out Kickstarter Basics.
The campaign will launch on Tuesday, June 6th at:
7am Pacific US
8am Mountain US
9am Central US
10am Eastern US
3pm Western European
4pm Central European
12am Australian Eastern (June 7th)
See you in a week! 🚀

A modest proposal:

This season buy fewer, better, longer lasting clothes. We still have extraordinary clothing brands like Hertling making garments in the USA.
