Looking for books, movies, TV shows, and podcasts to consume for inspiration. Criteria I'm looking for:

Sci-fi, particularly focused on people with abilities (like x-men, umbrella academy, heroes, The Bright Sessions, that kind of thing)

Dystopian (like Maze Runner, Dark Angel [the TV show with Jessica Alba], Hunger Games, that kind of thing. Particularly leaning into capitalism is bad)

Is not just focused on teenagers. I have no qualms against YA focused media, and have consumed tons, and won't turn down recommendations in that vein but I want more media of this type that is focused on adults. 😅

If the story is concluded, I'd prefer to lean toward media that has a happy ending, as that is the ultimate goal for the project I'm doing "research" for. Or at least an ending that offers some form of catharsis. Y'know?

Preferably has queer characters.

advice i think we should tell children is that when adults say stuff like ‘now that i’m an adult i get really excited about stuff like coffee tables and bathrooms and rugs etc’ they don’t mean ‘and now i don’t care about blorbo and squimbus from my childhood tv shows anymore’ bc your average adult still loves all the same pop culture stuff they always did; they just have a greater appreciation for the mundane as well. growing up just means you can enjoy life twice as much now. you can get really excited about a new stuffed animal AND about a new kitchen sponge. peace and love

I'm creating my own Anarky series!

Attention Anarky Nation!

I'm thinking of writing my own take on a solo series for Lonnie Machin aka Anarky. And i think it only fitting when creating a series of tales about the "Voice of the People" that i should allow the people to participate. I'm open to suggestions on the following topics.

Characters Anarky should come into contact with on his nightly adventures.

Related to the above, who could serve as antagonists in the series? Bare in mind i'm planning to have him go against both more traditional villains as well as heroes. So for example he could go against Killer Croc one addition then Huntress the next.

Should he stay exclusively in Gotham or travel to different cities? If so where to?

Should Lonnie still be in school? How old should he be? And if he's in school then what grade?

Ideas for individual stories/general plot?
