y'know, i've been thinking about this lately, specifically that it's kinda hard for me to explain what it is i like so much about him. but i'll try!

1: his design/appearance probably! i love his design so much. i feel like if i listed off everything about his design i find appealing and why i do i'm going to sound insane and/or weird haha. i will say that the glasses are really iconic and i love that he's a little puppet man. and he's very handsome and cute

2: his lore! he has so many interesting things going on with his lore. him being seemingly chosen by gaster/possibly other entity and it ending up in disaster is very interesting. how did he become a puppet? what would happen if he succeeded in getting a soul? how did he find out about neo? what are his ties to DEVICE_FRIEND? how good of friends was he with swatch ...

3: how well written he is. for a guy who constantly talks in a borderline incomprehensible way, there's so much to his dialogue. despite being a lying scammer, he's very sympathetic and you understand how he got to being morally questionable and why, despite him trying to skirt around things. he's not a dickhead for no reason and i like that

4: his horror potential. i feel like this isn't well explored by the fandom to be honest, or at least not in the way i think is more interesting. the majority of spamton horror involves him being subjected to horrors, but spamton himself has immense potential to be a scary, threatening being to others (it happened in-game to be fair). it's very cool to me and i like exploring that subject with him (see spamton house)

5: how funny he is. he's a funny ass character despite the horrors and lore implications. idk what it is about him but he makes me laugh

bruce and dick got some emotional incest going on

hmmm not sure i quite agree anon! i can see where that might be the case, as even i tend to harp on those co-dependency these two display sometimes, but i don't think emotional incest is what is going on there. for those that do not know what this term means, emotional incest is when a parent or primary caregiver begins to rely on their child like they would a partner for their emotional needs. it does not involve any sexual or physical intimacy, as that would be sexual abuse. while i do think what bruce and dick shared was something close to toxic, it was also how they in general functioned? idk that doesn't make sense. i'll put it like this- bruce never thought to rely on dick for emotional needs. in fact, i would argue he tried not to rely on anyone for his emotional well being, and this is what causes most of the divides and troubles in his life. however, dick being a naturally perceptive person, recognized how closed off bruce is/was, and took it upon himself to try and get bruce to open up more and be emotionally present instead of constantly shutting down and shoving people away. the whole "child of an alcoholic" sums it up neatly, imo, bc bruce never intentionally relied on or even asked for dick to help solve his problems. a lot of the bumps in their relationship came from the fact that he felt dick was getting too close or wanted to help bruce too much, which not only frightened bruce but i think also made him aware of how much he couldn't do without the help of dick pointing things out to him

emotional incest isn't quite the right term to describe them, imo, and i think when you get into a space where ppl are constantly talking about it and implying that sort of thing, it's easy to be convinced that that is what they have. it's important, however, to also look at how bruce and dick are doing currently/in the past current canon/past the batman and robin dynamic. one of the long-term affects of being in an emotionally incestuous relationship is being unable to set boundaries or even recognize what a normal relationship with others is like, and with the added context of this being a superhero/vigilante world, i would argue that they are both doing just fine without each other. obviously we have to account for the sheer number of times they've been in life or death situations and whatnot, but i think dick functions quite well on his own and with the others in his life, and bruce does, too. both are mentally ill, i think, but they are also coping pretty well imo

I think Karlach witnessing Levi almost murdering Gortash and being distressed over it is the final push for Gortash to sell her to Zariel.

Bc Gortash was looking into the ways to realise all his insane plans, and now things are finally starting to fall into the full picture. He had ideas, he had plans, but now? Now, with a beautiful monster what Levi Ravengard turned out to be, he has the means.

Meanwhile Karlach keeps fussing over him, insisting Levi is dangerous, too dangerous, what he almost killed Gortash, and it's annoying. She gets into his way, she becomes more trouble than not. So he sells her and proceeds with his plan to seduce Ravengard's oldest.

Enver can do plenty of things with the knowledge what Levi is a Bhaalspawn. He can blackmail Ravengard, for starters. Threaten to unleash this knowledge into the masses.

Or he can do it smart; play the trustworthy card and swear to keep this secret, promise to honor Levi's privacy and at the same time double his efforts.

And it works marvels; unburdened by the secrecy, Levi actually flourishes under his attention. Gortash sees how scared of the urges everyone around Levi is and how...ashamed they are too, like it's some dirty secret showed under the rug. And he sees Levi himself sees how other treat his "sickness" and what a toll it leaves on him.

So he works on the angle "I like you not because the urges, but with them, because of them, because they're the part of you".

And its so new to Levi, who is used to feeling ashamed, having his father and Florrick being disappointed at him with every death he causes while also not being able to not kill (I'm a firm believer Durge, being pure Bhaal's creation, needs to kill to survive, not just wants/is driven to do that).

Levi is used to people loving him despite the urges, so then someone likes him with them, accepts all of him, every part of his undoubtedly awful self, it's the most freeing thing in the world.

He can breathe, for the first time in his life he can actually breathe. He is honest with Gortash in the way he has never been honest with anyone, not even Jaheira. He tells the man all of his fears and, unlike his family, Gortash acknowledges what his nature indeed is a problem what needs to be dealt with, and it will keep being one for as long as Bhaal exists. Breaking yourself into pieces by trying to change your nature will do no good, but does Levi know what will? Dealing with Bhaal once and for all. Even gods can be defeated.

After that Gortash has Levi in his pocket. Because he saw him when everyone else only agreed to see parts of him and denied the ugly parts. Gortash saw the monster Levi felt to be and called him beautiful.

Wukong Wukong Wukong BUDDY WUKONG

I actually did not expect to obsess over Wukong OR MK because I generally don't obsess over the good guys?? Granted MK is uhhh potentially not gonna be sitting in that role much longer but even before I got to Season 4 I LOVED him!!

And it took me a minute to come around to Wukong but I actually really like him! He's a guy that does what he thinks is the best thing in any given situation and those decisions are FUELED by trauma and I *love* that

MK is OHHH MK BUDDY

They're all very VERY relatable to me in different ways and everything all of them does is absolutely fueled by trauma and their individual reactions to it and I love dissecting them even though I'm really bad at it

To a degree they all take a 'smile to cover the pain' approach but in VERY DIFFERENT WAYS

Wukong takes a very 'conceal don't let it show' approach (sorry I just heard a Frozen song) and personally I think *he* sees it he just doesn't let anyone *else* see it (I'm bad at character analysis again and my interpretations are littered with headcanons so)

Macaque takes a 'smile about it' approach but in the way that he's just really freaking dramatic about it and is more on the 'I'm gonna smile about it but I'm actually really freaking pissed off' side of things. I tried to piece together a good way to say exactly what I'm trying to get across and I can't do it I'm sorry XD. He vents a lot but also tip toes around the exact problem?? Idk exactly how to put it aaa

MK takes a 'conceal don't feel don't let it show' approach in the way that even when he's alone, out of sight out of mind kinda thing. Which canonically might also be what Wukong does but again my interpretations are covered in headcanons so. But that's why being *forced* to look at it threw him so badly
