So let's talk about Mertyl... again
So... this guy is not escaping the adoption allegations until it's proven. Good lord. Like, this is not even close to the Chion situation back then cause at least Chion looks like his parents. But Mertyl, not even close.
One thing I wanna point out though is this.
Tumblr media
I mentioned it before that his issues with Humans makes no sense and I still stand by it.
In this panel he talked about the strife between the Humans, Fairies and Giants and how King and Diane lost some of their close best friends in the process and the panel shows Helbram and Matrona.
One, Matrona is still alive, yes that severe injury is caused by humans but it is also a human who healed her and took care of her, that is same human she ended up living with her together with his two kids who are now currently residing in the Fairy King's Forest with her. She's living her best life.
Two, Uncle Ban is human and Lancelot is half-human and it's canon and pretty obvious that King adores Lancelot.
Tumblr media
In this panel, Mertyl threatens the fairy that is responsible for the changeling and said that King already told them to stop and told them not to wreck the relationship between the humans. If Mertyl is not so fond of humans, why would he care.
Now, here's the deal. The Nasiens-is-Kiane's-kid theory is growing strong and I think I found the reason why Mertyl acts the way he does here.
I think Mertyl knows that he's not their real kid and he's trying the best he could to be useful enough for them so he couldn't be disposed of. I don't think he has any particular strife with Humans, he just has issues with Nasiens being there because Nasiens does look like their kid and what he said about his health becoming a lot better during his stay in the fairy realm indicates that he may just be a fairy and Mertyl feels threatened by this, he wants Nasiens out of there before anything can be confirmed so Mertyl could stay there and be their kid still especially now that King and Diane already know something or suspect something about Nasiens.

(Genuine question and sorry for the word vomit in advance) the faq said that having a child consort in universe is considered not normal/acceptable. Will we get to see more people talking about that what luceris did was not okay? So far from the asks it seems like the in universe attitude is c'est la vie ish (or that it's secretly some weird adoption situation but idk my memory might not be right)? Like MC is a child married to an adult but things could be worse (like dying)? Idk if it's me missing some things but no one else seems to have a violent reaction except lancelot (maybe the council but that feels more like because luceris strongarmed them into doing what he wants)? Luceris also seems to have a decent enough popularity (enough to at least stabilize a whole other country), so does that mean people in universe are willing to accept him marrying a child if it meant food or better living conditons? Or just be okay with a child spouse?
Will there be more discussion within the story about the impropriety of Luceris' actions?
Yes.
Are the people in universe willing to accept him marrying a child if it meant food or better living conditons? Or just be okay with a child spouse?
Yes but only in this situation because MC's parents weren't the best rulers and with everything going on it almost felt like it was MC's price to pay since their family wronged both the public and Luceris and MC was the only one left alive.
I wouldn't say they (vesphirians) worship the ground Luceris walks on because he takes care of them better but it's like "yeah at least now we have this, poor kid but shit they have much more than us even after everything" because most people have so little (monetarily) that they automatically view the world in a materialistic way.
This kind of ties with that one post I made a few days ago in which it was basically saying how people fail to view that even if MC has "everything" they don't have what mattered to them.
Some do view it as an odd adoption scenario because it's clear to anyone who sees Luceris and MC that they don't actually have THAT type of relationship.
I think they just use that excuse when they run out of "reasons why this is fine" 😭 most people don't think it's fine or normal until someone questions it like "how come everyone accepted it so quickly for some bread and juice huh" then they feel the need to make it acceptable so they don't start feeling kind of bad.

Arthur Pedragon/King of Chaos/Lancelot X Yui Komori! Reader
Genre: Headcannons
Reader: Female
WARNINGS: SENSITIVE SUBJECTS, IMPLICIT KIDNAPPING/PAST ABUSE, PTSD, Arthur alone is a warning, Lancelot is a bit bad with emotions and a bit OOC(hard for me to write his character), Fluff at the end.
Arthur Pedragon/King of Chaos
A bit of context as always:
You were the daughter of one of Arthur's knights, he had just joined his ranks in the hope of recovering you from the clutches of the beings that held you captive.
He didn't think much of it at first, actually, he honestly thought you were already dead (especially if the beings that kidnapped you were vampires or demons), but he was very supportive of your father's cause, he was a good knight, and his fervent anger was ... something very useful in fights, so he encouraged it.
Imagine his surprise when he found out that you were alive, even more so when he met you, an adorable young lady. How could someone who barely has magic power survive so long alone against members of other races? Your father kept you close to him long after He rescued you, so you gave him some curiosity.
At first he thought that the innocent appearance would be a clever facade, but he was even more surprised when he met you formally and saw that you were indeed someone very friendly and gentle, even after all you had been through.
Your magical power allowed those who will take your blood to increase their abilities, apart from the fact that it became addictive, that was what caused your kidnapping. Ironically, since it didn't fit your character at all, it was the first thing that came to Arthur's mind.
Since your father always told you good things about the king, you showed him a lot of respect and kindness, but not out of fear, but out of the pure desire to help, you aroused his interest thanks to that.
You practically settled into Camelot, fearing to return to the real world, which helped you both get to know each other more, you would follow your father like a lost puppy (so cute) until he had to leave and you would just do things to help out. the fortress where you stayed, cleaning, taking care of the vegetation, reading, cooking, etc. It's endearing.
When you'll eventually run out of things to do, you'll go to him to ask if there was anything he needed or wanted, sometimes he'd jokingly tell you that he wanted his enemies' hearts and seeing your perplexed expression, you're too cute for your own good.
He would have talks with you where more things about you would just emerge, your so innocent point of view of the world and how you see the good in everything, a part of him doesn't know if you are very good or very dumb, but at the same time you are too nice to let the opportunity pass.
Going full-on when you're together, Arthur watches you like a hawk, he doesn't miss a beat when it comes to you. Do you feel slightly uncomfortable around a specific gentleman? It will be removed immediately. A certain noble made an off-hand comment about your situation? You won't see him again, and so on.
He loves your personality, he hasn't had someone genuinely care for him in a long time (if you read the manga you know what I'm talking about) so having a cutie like you care for him like he's a normal person is really beautiful.
It's a double edged sword though
Since he's worried that you'll trust too much people you shouldn't, so he tries to teach you how to more easily identify those kinds of people or he scares them to death himself, whichever comes first.
I mentioned the food above, most likely the Knights love you because of it, you are like an angel(who cooks amazingly) Even IRONSIDE enjoy your desserts!
You no longer help as much as before in the matter of taking care of the palace, not because you don't want to but rather because they don't let you anymore😅 as Wife of the King you are no longer allowed to do "Service work", although Arthur allows you to make food for he and his highly trusted knights (as I said above, they love it).
He pampers you a lot, you already saw.
He just can't help it. He loves your reactions! The surprise, how you smile shyly when you accept them, you're going to kill him one day.
Now, getting more serious.
If the ones who hurt you are alive...they won't be for long, let's go from there.
Just the thought of you being hurt so badly, that you didn't even want to go back to your original realm, out of sheer fear, makes Arthur seethe with rage.
Of course, always willing to comfort you and give you whatever you need at that moment (except maybe alone time because 1, this man is clingy, and 2, he doesn't feel comfortable leaving you alone in such a vulnerable state).
If the ones who kidnapped you were humans, he'll send his knights to kill them without much thought, he wants their heads on spears, that's all that matters.
(And neither are the knights, they appreciate you so much that they are as out for blood as Arthur).
If they were of any other race, only valid in a certain way his extremist point, it may even contaminate you with it (if you did not have it before). In this particular case, he wants to be the one to kill them, in the slowest and most painful way possible.
He will always make sure to keep you safe, there are knights near you even if you don't see them to ensure your safety and that nothing bad happens to you. By itself Arthur orbits around you constantly, so the chances are minimal.
I already mentioned it in a previous scenario, but he tries to cover up the shady parts of the Eternal Kindom's plan to prevent you from developing fear towards him, that would definitely destroy him.
Luckily that doesn't look like it's going to happen any time soon :D
In the meantime, you only enjoy the good times and memories that you create with your family and your dear husband.
Lancelot
A bit of context as always:
He met you shortly before the events of the 4KotA story, in one of the many massacre battles in which he participated.
He thought that as usual there was no one left, but he quickly realized that it was not yes. He originally thought of just shooting an arrow at where you were (RIP you) but sensing that the presence was rather extremely weak, he decided to see if it was really worth it.
He wasn't exactly surprised when he saw you, all hurt and scared, the fight was pretty brutal. What DID surprise him a bit was that you will ask him if they left. On sheer impulse he said yes and was even more confused when you thanked him.
*insert surprised Pikachu face*
He could easily tell that you were sincere, but even so you left him half out of the loop, he didn't know what to do with you anymore. Should he risk that you divulge information about him?
He considers it for a moment but seeing that you had no bad intentions he simply told you threatened not to say anything about who ended up with your group. You just nodded and he started to leave, what WAS NOT EXPECTED was that you'll start following him.
Again, this left him confused, he saw your heart, you had no intention of killing him or anything, in fact you had a lot of gratitude for some reason, and now you were following him around like a lost puppy. He considered just knocking you out and leaving, but at the same time this made him very curious as to how it would end, so he thought he'd see how far this would go, maybe he'd find out why you're doing it.
Thus began a strange friendship. At first just because you were still in a certain state of shock, you didn't talk much, ironically Lancelot did a good part of the talking, it wasn't much but it was enough to know some basic things, like your name, your age, etc. Yes, he could have used mind reading for that, but he doesn't want to use it for something so basic.
Of course, when he asked you about the group you were with and you got tense, he took a little look, just to avoid bad moments. You weren't with the group by choice, but because you had been "sold" (after being kidnapped) due to your magical power, which was in your healing blood.
Lowkey was satisfied that they would not return.
And lowkey scared him a little bit he almost shot you with an arrow
Knowing this, Lancelot didn't ask any more questions about them and simply asked about more general things, like your family or things like that (if they weren't idiots of course).
The more time you spend together and the more you open up, he becomes more…relaxed around you, so to speak.
He still has some of his stoic demeanor, but brings out a calmer side and more "Sin" so to speak.
Yep, he has shown his Fox form, many times in fact. Especially if you were feeling especially bad about what happened with that group. See, he's not very good with emotions (at first) so he brings out Sin's form so you can pamper him and you can better bring out your emotions.
He honestly thinks you couldn't open up to him at first because of how intimidating he is (the fact that you saw him taking down assholes in a way has something to do with it).
Though you eventually realize this and prevent this from happening, that you want comfort from Lancelot, not Sin.
Again, he's a bit clumsy at first, but gets better with time (especially with physical affection, that's his greatest strength).
If the group you were with wasn't the one that originally sold you out or kidnapped you, he'll ask you directly if you want him to kill them, obviously you didn't want that, and while Lancelot seemed to accept it, he specified that you won't wait long if he ever ran into them, no one lives to count a confrontation against him after all.
Your personality definitely intrigues him. How can someone who lived through such cruel things still be so gentle and friendly? It's out of his understanding.
Yet he finds himself being more open with you, telling you things about himself to be fair and generally being more vulnerable.
If we go straight to when they are together, honestly it doesn't change too much, it's just a little more of everything, more open, more physical, more protective, etc.
Again, your personality is a double-edged sword here, but at least Lancelot is more direct and will tell you what it is, that you have to be careful and a little more suspicious, even if it's for your own good.
Don't get it wrong though, he definitely likes to see how friendly you are, you have a great personality, if there were more people like you, humanity wouldn't be so lost.
He's fine with your willingness to help as long as you don't put yourself in danger, otherwise he'll be the first to jump into the situation and stop you (like the "what an idiot--wait-THAT'S MY IDIOT!" meme).
Cook 👏 together 👏 I won't say more.
Again, his greatest love language is physical contact, he has gotten better at saying he loves you, but it is much more practical for him to be physical than verbal. Although he's more willing to be if you're having a PTSD crisis, he understands that physical contact there can be for worse than anything else, so he encourages you from afar so you can recover safely.
For the events of the manga, they're traveling together with Percy and his friends, it's nice for Lancelot to see the progress you've made (and him, in a way) and you finally allow yourself to surround yourself with people again.
Lowkey, he wants you to meet Jericho, Ban and Elaine, he's pretty sure their parents are going to love you right away. As for Jericho... he must first keep his promise before anything else (and he still has mixed feelings with her being a traitor).
This new adventure looks promising, even more so when the two of them are together. What does the future prepare? Only time will tell.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
By the time you felt strong and awake enough to leave your room, it was past midday.
There was talk in the fort about what had transpired in the village the previous night, about Lancelot, and how the flames had not harmed him or the family he had saved.
So far, most of it was positive.
You found your mother as she was searching for Ciro and Squirrel, apparently the little ones had skipped the soup that had been served at midday in the dinning hall for all to enjoy.
She looked quite tired still, it was much harder for your parents to use their healing abilities than it was for you, and it took some more time for them to feel better again.
Mirena carried a warm tea in her hands like it was a source of life to her, it was a habit she had kept for years, there was nothing some tea could not fix for her.
You walked with her through the fort in search of the little rascals, the scent of the tea filled your nostrils.
She took a sip from her cup. “This morning I have told the children of what happened in the village, so they would not be confused by what is being talked about in the castle.”
“That is good.” You approved of it. “Do they know of what Lancelot did?”
She gave a nod. “They loved to hear all about that.”
Squirrel and Ciro must have nearly asked her ears off about it.
Mirena spoke so casually that she might as well have talked about the weather, “He is a handsome man, don’t you agree?”
“Huh?” You weren’t sure who she was speaking off.
“Lancelot.” She clarified.
There was no point denying it. “He is.”
“Those eyes.” She nudged your elbow with her own. “You must have noticed.”
Slowly you turned to look at her face, “Mother, should father be concerned?”
It was only a jest, because you sensed that she was trying to fish information out of you.
Mirena did not let it fool her. “Of course not.”
You wondered why she would bring this up now, “Why this sudden interest in the Ash Man then?”
With another sip of tea, she told you what was on her mind, “Little moon, I think you need to speak to him. The Ash Man is not the kind of man I thought he was, even when drunk.”
“How so?” It piqued your curiosity.
She recalled what happened that night during their short walk, “He kept apologizing when I walked him to his sleeping quarters on the night of the feast.”
You frowned. “For what?”
She named a few, “For everything, for drinking, for what he did to his people-”
It strangled your heart. “Oh…”
“For you.” She said, and asked about it, “Why did he apologize for you? Is there something he did wrong?”
How much had he told her?!? You had spared her of most of the details regarding your time in captivity. Was this about what he had tried to do that night?
You tried to ease her mind, “Nothing I haven’t forgiven him for.”
Apart from the attempt to kiss you…
She could tell that you were hiding something from her, your fidgeting hands warned her.
That night kept going through your mind over and over again.
“I think his conscience was just clawing at him. But, may I tell you something?” You asked.
“Of course.” She nodded encouragingly.
You tried to not give away that he had tried to kiss you, fearing how she would respond, “He was raised as a monk since childhood and lived strictly by the rules set in the scriptures of the Church, until he saved Squirrel and I. Now… sometimes it feels as if… uhm…”
It wasn’t easy to explain how it felt like he was growing more and more closer to you. Lines were blurring and bending.
Mirena saw you struggle and stated what she had observed, “He cares for you and Percival very much, like family would.”
You managed to nod timidly. “I trust him with my life, mother. I’ve never met anyone who could be so unselfishly caring. Sometimes I feel as if he effaces himself, to repent for the past. Last night was not the first time he stepped into danger for the sake of others. It frightens me.”
A pensive hum sounded from her. “Thankfully, he has someone who reminds him that his life is important too. Someone who cares.”
“I hope he believes me when I try to tell him this.” You feared he did not accept this truth.
She gave some wise advice, “Remind him of it often. Sometimes it takes a while before people are ready to believe others care for them too. If the former Weeping Monk can convince a Dawn Woman of this, you can convince him too.”
Ah yes, the Dawn Folk were not quick to trust at all.
You chuckled a little at it. “I really picked the hardest person to trust, didn’t I?”
She jested about it, “It does not surprise me, Little Moon. Nothing is ever simple with you.”
You scoffed amused. “Thank you, mother.”
She drank up the remainder of her tea as you walked through the entrance hall towards the courtyard together. “When you disappeared, the night the Brotherhood took you, your father and I thought you had ran off with the Ash Man.”
She was sheepishly admitting to what you had already thought had happened.
You shook your head, smiling at the absurdity. “Mother.”
“It was a possibility.” Mirena breached the matter on her mind. “He does appear quite charmed by you.”
You were quick to try and refute it, “He was a monk not long ago.”
She did not fall for the attempt to brush it away. “Do you think monks cannot feel love in their hearts? Those of the clergy vow not to act on it, it does not mean that they do not feel it.”
“I know that.” You meekly said. “But Lancelot and I are just friends, we have been by each other’s side through terrible things, that created a bond.”
She opened the door to the courtyard for you. “I am grateful the Ash Man was by your side when we could not be. Your father is too, even though he will not admit to it.”
It reminded you. “I never expected father to help him last night.”
“He’d rather help Lancelot, than watch you run into danger to do so yourself.” She was close to scolding you over it again.
You walked into the courtyard a bit faster before she could.
An arrow flew across the courtyard all of a sudden, shortly followed by excited voices. It had landed in a practicing target, a wooden pole with a sack of straw bound to it, at the other side of the courtyard.
Well, you had finally found Squirrel and Ciro. Lancelot was helping them learn archery, he tried at least. Squirrel was seemingly determined that his skill needed no adjustments, even if the Ash Man tried to give some useful hints. But Ciro was more accepting of the help, as he knelt to the boy’s height he showed him how and where to hold the bow and arrow best.
The second arrow that flew across the courtyard landed in the heart of the straw target, it was quickly followed by Squirrel’s arrow that landed in the head of it. Perhaps the boy was right to be proud of his skill at such a young age already.
Mirena watched them for a while, letting them have their moment of fun before she would scold them for letting their soup go cold. You bit your lip, knowing that your mother was waiting for the right moment to call upon Squirrel and Ciro.
Lancelot let Ciro try it on his own. “Nock.”
The arrow fell from Ciro’s hands, he quickly picked it up and tried to do as asked. Poor Ciro was shaking in his boots until Lancelot came to his side to help again.
“I can’t do it.” Ciro was beginning to panic.
He put a hand on the child’s back. “Perhaps not yet. But you will not know until you try.”
Squirrel went over to Ciro. “Go on, you can do it.”
With shaking hands, Ciro nocked the arrow and lifted the bow.
“Breathe, Ciro.” Lancelot told him.
Slowly but surely, your cousin’s hands steadied, little puffs of air formed in the cold air at his mouth. The arrow was released and landed in the side of the straw target.
It was good enough to have a positive reaction from Ciro. “I did it! I did it!”
Ciro accidentally knocked one of the edges of the bow against Squirrel.
“Oi!” Squirrel ducked to avoid a second collision.
“Sorry, Squirrel.” Ciro apologized quickly.
Squirrel looked at the target, than back to Ciro with a smile. “See! I told you you could do it!”
Ciro looked so relieved at the approval coming from his friend.
“Well done.” Lancelot praised. “Both of you have done very well.”
Your mother walked up to them, you followed a few steps behind.
“Well done, indeed.” She announced her presence and saw the children get a little nervous. “So this is what the two of you were doing while the soup went cold.”
Lancelot frowned in confusion, then realized they had ‘forgotten’ to mention this to him and send the two of them a stern look before apologizing to her. “Forgive me, Mirena. Had I known they were expected in the dining hall, I would have brought them there.”
She waved it away. “No apology is needed from you, Lancelot. It must have ‘slipped’ their minds.”
You bit your lip again, the children were looking at her like caught criminals.
“The soup is still waiting, boys.” Mirena send them a look. “Off to the dining hall with you it is.”
Ciro grabbed Squirrel by the sleeve and pulled him along, knowing that his aunt was giving them a second chance.
You stepped aside for them as they followed her inside, then walked over to Lancelot. “So, decided to teach them archery because teaching them the sword would potentially alarm others?
He could only affirm it. “I spend many of days on lecturing others how to use their weapons best. Old habits.”
You hummed, “I think you just love to show off your skill, and what better audience than children?”
He tried not to smile. “Or perhaps I just want them to learn a useful skill.”
You hummed again cheekily, it made the smile break through on his face.
“Are you feeling better?” He inquired, holding the bow loosely in his hand.
Physically you felt better, but you couldn’t pretend that you had not dreamt that he had not gotten out of that fire last night.
“Better.” You assured him.
He blinked and squinted his eyes just a little. “Yes?”
Well…
Quietly you confessed, “I dreamed that you didn’t walk out of the fire.”
“Oh…” He fell silent.
Your mother’s advice came to mind. “I’m really glad you did.”
He was quiet for a different reason now. His heart felt full after hearing this.
You turned at the sound of a group passing by, some of the knights were heading out it seemed. Matthew was among them and looked at you as he walked by, but dropped his attention to the grass soon. It wasn’t nice to feel uncomfortable about the situation, but it was all still so raw.
Lancelot noticed something was off, “What was said between you and the knight yesterday? I saw him beg.”
With a shrug of your shoulders, you told him, “I told him what I thought of his babbling behind my back. We aren’t on good terms right now.”
He gave a compassionate look. “I am sorry. I know it is hurting you.”
Knowing what you did now, had spared you from greater pain later. “At least I know the truth now. Before I could be persuaded to wed him, that would have been worse.”
His question came quick, “You thought of wedding him?”
You grimaced at the thought. “My father spoke of it to me yesterday, he said he wouldn’t mind a joining between Matthew and I. I was quick to throw that idea off the table.”
Lancelot let out a breath, the news staggered him, “A joining…”
“No joining.” You scoffed. “No nothing.”
His stunned reaction made you look at him questioningly.
“What?” You saw how downcast he appeared now. “Don’t worry Ash Man, I have no desire to be trapped again. Not in a dungeon, and certainly not in wedlock.”
All he managed was a nod.
To lead the conversation away from the awkward topic, you asked, “Have you read all of that page I gave you last night?”
He took a step away and touched your arm, asking you to walk with him for a while. “I have. Thank you for giving it to me, even if it meant ruining a book.”
You gently asked about it, “Do you remember your parents?”
“Only their names. Their faces have become a vague memory a long time ago.” He sounded pained. “I never knew they were considered royalty among the Fey. I was too young to remember.”
The names had been present on the page for you to read. King Ban, Queen Elaine and their son.
It wasn’t your intention to upset him. “Sorry, if I sound curious-”
“You trusted me with your family, I shall trust you with mine.” He locked eyes with you as he walked. “What is there you wish to know?”
You were a bit worried you’d still accidentally upset him, “Do you know what happened to them?”
He fidgeted with the bow a little, lost in thought.
“Are they…” You couldn’t get the rest of the question over your lips in fear of the answer.
Lancelot knew what you were trying to ask him. “I was told my father died in the war, and my mother of grief after they took me.”
A lump formed in your throat, how awful had the Church been to him… You honestly didn’t know what to say to that.
He noticed. “It was a long time ago.”
It was obvious he was trying to hide how it hurt him. “I can’t imagine that it does not hurt to know.”
He walked with you past the curtain wall of the fort, and fixed his eyes on the sea in the distance. “I do not like to think of how my mother must have felt. Her last thoughts of me, she must have know what would become of me after I was taken.”
You didn’t say anything for a moment, letting him have some time to collect himself, he needed it. It wasn’t until he pulled his attention away from the distance that you spoke again. “You became a man who she would be very proud of.”
He looked around himself, than stopped, and made you halt too by carefully taking hold of your lower arm. Your eyes were on him right away, watching him step closer.
His thumb drew slow circles on your sleeve. “If you believe it to be true, than I shall consider it so.”
You felt your heart beat in your throat all of a sudden and looked down to his hand, he saw but did not move it away. “I know it to be true. I see it all the time.”
It wrapped around your arm, like it was resisting the urge to pull you towards him. You could feel his gaze on your face, but the nervous feeling that settled in your stomach refused to let you meet it. All you could tell was that he often discreetly looked around him, like he did not want others around to see. That in itself was proof that he knew this line between you kept bending in ways that others would take notice off.
“Uhm…” You fished for something to say whilst keeping your eyes on a fallen leaf, “Is that the bow you always have on Goliath’s saddle?”
A short pause came before his answer. “It is. I was taking it back to the stables.”
You forced your feet to move a step to the side, it broke the hold on your arm immediately, only than did you look at him. “Then I’ll let you do that… I’ll go and see if my mother needs any help with the young ones.”
His eyes followed your every movement, “Alright… I will see you tonight?”
“Tonight.” You spoke fast.
It seemed to be amusing to him. “Good.”
You let him walk past and could have sworn he bumped into your arm with his on purpose now. Especially because he smirked back at you as he walked away.
Your whole being responded strongly to him, similar to what you had experienced before, yet different. Stronger. So much stronger and you did not want to let that feeling take hold again, not after it had caused you such pain.
No.
No.
This wasn’t good. It would pass. Surely it would pass…
~~~♡~~~♡~~~♧~~~♡~~~♡~~~
That evening, as he returned from the stables, Lancelot searched the hallways for the Dawn Folk scent. He found it, but unfortunately it was not yours, only two similar ones. Mirena and Helio were conversing in the hallway. He had managed to stop before they’d notice his presence, a corner blocked him from their sights.
It was not his intention to eavesdrop, but he did overhear them. From the angle he was standing, he could also see them.
Mirena was reassuring Helio, “You are a good man, and a good father. I am sure she knows it.”
Helio did not sound like he believed it and spoke with a heavy heart, “When I saw her running to that fire… I had to reach her in time.” He hated to think back to that moment. “I do not want to lose her again.”
She explained your reason for that action, “She thought her friend was burning, my love. How would you have responded if it were you?”
He nodded shallowly. “I always tell her she is so much like you, but it is when I see myself in her that it frightens me.”
“That eagerness to run into danger to help others.” She tsked him. “She is much like you. You might as well argue with a mirror instead of her.”
A chuckle fell from him. “A mirror would not give me her wit.”
“No, it would not.” She smiled.
His wife’s smile brought on his own. “But you often do.”
Mirena hummed, letting him lean in and kiss her tenderly.
That was the moment he turned his eyes away for a second, watching this felt intrusive.
The love between them was clear to see, they left the hallway together. He did not continue his walk yet, he was lost in thought. One desire had managed to crawl under his skin once again. There was someone who he wished he could share the same affections with. It left him to come to his senses, and push the idea away before it could lead to what had happened on the night of the feast.
He resumed his walk and was about to cross paths with a Sky Folk woman when she deliberately stepped in his way. By reflex he stopped before he got too close to her.
Was she there to voice her dismay to his presence in the fort? He had not seen here there before. Black hair, brown eyes and a scar at the side of her neck. No, she did not look familiar.
With a small step he tried to see if she would let him pass.
She spoke to him in response, “I know what you did in the village.”
He looked at her expectantly until she spoke again.
The Sky Woman took a step closer. “The woman you saved is my sister. I am here to thank you for the incredible gallantry you have shown last night.”
Lancelot acknowledged the grateful response she had, “I hope she is well?”
She left little distance between herself and the Ash Man when she got closer again. “She is, and so are the children. Thanks to you. I wish I had something to repay you with.”
He sought no reward. “You owe me nothing. I am glad they are well.”
The young woman kept staring, seemingly intrigued by him. With a shallow nod, he hoped to bid her a good day.
What she said next took him off-guard. “I do wish to thank you. Perhaps some place where we can be alone?”
The last thing he expected was to be propositioned, and in the middle of a hallway. He could not hide how nervous it was making him and kept looking around himself while also keeping an eye on her.
He politely declined the offer. “I do not know you, madam.”
The woman saw that he showed little to no interest, and tried to awaken it. “My name is Emmeline. We can get to know each other, I would be pleased to make your acquaintance.”
From what he could tell, this young woman might have a small infatuation. It was not uncommon to find a person who had done something dangerous, attractive. But he preferred a deeper connection over a shallow one. And this woman did not know him at all.
“Lancelot.” He introduced himself formerly. “Apologies, madam, I seek not what you want.”
She dropped her gaze to the tile floor, looking a bit embarrassed. “I understand. I shall leave you be, sir.”
He felt compassion towards her, she seemed to be kind under that first impression.
Emmeline seemed to shrink under his eyes. “But may I thank you, in another way, for saving my family?”
After a second of thought, and knowing he could easily stop her if needed be, he gave a nod. Timidly she put a hand on his shoulder and kissed his cheek, she was quick to step away. With a curtsy, she bid him a good day and left without saying another word.
Flattering, but unexpected. Usually people tended to avoid him. It appeared two knights who were passing by had seen it happen, one was even sending him a grin while the other was baffled.
What the Ash Man did not know was that they were not the only ones who had seen it…
~~~♡~~~♡~~~♧~~~♡~~~♡~~~
You had been searching for Lancelot around the fort to ask if he’d sit with you at dinner.
You wished you hadn’t…
Had you known that you would see him be kissed by someone, who was quite beautiful, you wouldn’t have searched for him at all. Never before had you felt so physically ill so suddenly. Where did this strong response come from?
Was it the exhaustion from last night mixed with the response to what you had seen? At least you made it to your room and to an empty bucket, because you felt close to throwing up. On your knees you kept the bucket close, feeling the painful tensing in your stomach. Your body was shaking terribly, like it tried to fight it. Nothing came out, and the feeling remained. The last time you had felt like this was after Matthew’s rejection a long time ago, but not this gravely.
It was time to admit to yourself that you had fallen for the Ash Man, and wished you hadn’t. Now you had to go through all the suffering a second time. All of this, only because you had seen him receive affections from another.
You fought against the tears, refusing to let them win and show, telling yourself to calm down. For all you knew, it could have been innocent, just nothing…
“Please, let it be nothing…” The plea was aimed to the Hidden.
It was a selfish thing to ask, but could you not wish for something for yourself?
Squirrel found you dry-heaving whilst he walked by the room, like the Hidden had called him there to see it. It was embarrassing.
The boy was at your side a blink of an eye later. “Are you sick?”
“No… ugh…” The weight of a rock tumbled inside your stomach
Squirrel did not believe it one bit. He saw how you struggled, hunched over the bucket on your knees, and your arm around your stomach. Suddenly he ran off and left you there, then it hit you why that was.
“Squirrel, no, wait!” You shouted after him but he was too stubborn to return without the help he was after. To your dismay, that help came in the form of Lancelot rushing into the room followed by Squirrel.
“See, she’s sick!” Squirrel looked so worried over you, it made you only feel worse and guilty.
Great… you were a mess…
Lancelot knelt by your side, hand on your back, the panic clear in his voice, “What is wrong? Are you ill?”
You were prying his hands off of you, still feeling that awful tightening in your gut. “Leave me be. I don’t want you to see me like this.”
He said it to make you feel less embarrassed over it, “I grew up among paladins, I have seen far worse.” Then asked the boy, “Percival, fetch a cold damp cloth.”
Squirrel darted off to the washing table in your room to fetch one.
“Talk to me.” Lancelot’s concern was clear for all to see. But his presence was not helping you now.
You wouldn’t lie to him to avoid further questions, but asked for a delay to answer, “Not now. I’m sorry, not now. I’m not sick, I just need a moment to myself.”
Squirrel returned and handed the requested damp cloth to Lancelot. It did feel very nice to feel the cold cloth be placed on the back of your neck. Was the Hidden alerting him that this situation was caused by distress?
He hated to ask, because he did not wish to do so, “Shall we leave you?”
Hearing and seeing them so concerned… it made you feel guilty. But your fragile heart felt like breaking into pieces again, and it hurt.
You needed the nausea gone before you would be able to tell him what was wrong. “I will tell you, when I’ve had a moment to think.”
He hesitated for a couple of moments before finally rising to his feet and beckoning for the boy.
“Doesn’t she need a healer?” Squirrel pouted up at him.
Lancelot send you an inquiring look.
You shook your head. “I’ll be alright, Squirrel. I promise.”
Poor Squirrel wasn’t put at ease by it.
“Mirena will be waiting for you in the dinning hall, do not let your meal go cold again. Go on.” Lancelot nudged him against the shoulder.
Squirrel didn’t run out like he usually would, he walked out and looked at you one last time before leaving the room.
That heaviness in your stomach was slowly bettering, you dared to look up at the Ash Man whilst pushing the still empty bucket away from you.
He was reluctant to leave you on your own, “I will come find you after dinner. Shall I bring you some then?”
“I don’t feel like eating.” You declined the offer.
There he stood, near the door, feeling powerless to help you. He hated the feeling to his very core. What he hated most was seeing glimpses of sadness present in you, the reason of it still unknown to him.
“Go. Don’t let a meal go cold.” You mustered a small smile.
His boots almost dragged across the floorboards as he headed out of the room.
You still sat on your knees, and let yourself sit on your rear instead. Telling him felt like the wisest choice…
You had survived heartbreak before, would it not be better than prolonging the pain? What if he rejected you? What if he accepted?
Thinking of it was enough for the knot in your stomach to return and you decided to clear your head of it before you’d lose all courage to speak to him later.
~~~♡~~~♡~~~♧~~~♡~~~♡~~~
Lancelot had lost his appetite after the Hidden had notified him of your distress, through them it was as if he had experienced some of what you must have felt.
No, he gravely disliked the feeling that had coursed through him. Some fresh cold air was what he craved to forget the feeling. Some time to clear his mind before he’d search you out to speak to you.
Unfortunately, it was not granted to him.
From a distance, he had already picked up that Sky Folk scent he hoped to avoid.
Matthew found him in the courtyard, and when he saw that no one else was around, he went over to the Ash Man, “I think we should have a word, don’t you?”
Lancelot could hear the venom in his tone. “If you find it necessary.”
“I do.” Matthew responded sharp. “I know you were the one who told y/n.”
He turned to face the knight, feeling the tense turn in the atmosphere. “If you had told her yourself, perhaps she would be more inclined to forgive you.”
The knight looked seconds away of hitting him, he had been in enough battles to recognize that sort of look.
Matthew let him know what was bothering him, “Do not act haughty to me, I know why you’ve done it! It’s much easier for you to have her all to yourself if there are no others vying for her!”
The furious knight sought to escalate this by shoving the Ash Man against the chest.
When Matthew tried to do it a second time, he knew he had to diffuse this before the situation could get messier than it already was. You would never forgive him if he’d damage one of those ‘honey eyes’.
With fast reflexes, Lancelot caught his arm and kicked the back of Matthew’s knee, sending the knight to the ground while blocking his arm behind his back. Matthew tried to get up but the Ash Man kept him to the ground, and prevented he’d use his other arm to free himself.
“I’ve done it, because she deserves to know the truth!” Lancelot snarled.
The fool did not see his mistake, “She didn’t need to know! You only upset her!”
“I did?!” He could not believe his ears. “Others know! Others who have no right to know! How long before it reached her ears? Do you have any inkling of how much you have hurt her?!”
The ruckus had drawn the attention of three other knights, when they threatened to come closer to interfere, it was Matthew who told them to stay back, “Stay out of it!”
The group looked at each other with uncertainty. He felt how Matthew stopped struggling against his firm hold.
“I never thought she would hate me…” Matthew confessed sorrowful. “I took it for granted.”
The love you once had for Matthew had not saved him from the consequences of his actions this time.
He released him and took a few paces away from him, “You did.”
Matthew didn’t get off his knees just yet, and looked at the Ash Man with mixed emotions. “The Weeping Monk has a better conscience than me…” He scoffed. “I understand why she put her trust in you, I don’t like it, but I understand.”
It was almost a nice thing for him to say, if it weren’t so bitterly said. The man was filled with self-pity, it would not help his cause if he let it remain as it was.
He really made an effort to advise him, “You have a conscience as well, I suggest you learn to listen to it from time to time.”
Matthew got up from the ground and waved the watchful knights away, “You believe she could one day forgive me then?”
There was still that attitude, but the question sounded like it had come from a genuine concern.
Lancelot kept at a safe distance from him. “She forgave me. I think she can forgive you too, in time.”
If he deserved it.
Matthew rolled his shoulder, feeling the strain that had been put on it, he did not appear as angry anymore. With a step back, he created more distance. “Speak not a word of this to her.”
Did he sound… embarrassed?
He managed to keep himself from letting the smirk appear, “I do not intent to trouble her with futilities.”
Matthew almost rolled his eyes at him, then he walked past the Ash Man in the direction those knights had gone, undoubtedly to ask the same of them.
So far this day was spared of bloodshed and violence, he prayed it would remain so.
~~~♡~~~♡~~~♧~~~♡~~~♡~~~
The evening had come, and to reassure both Ciro and Squirrel that you were fine, you had went to their room to read some of that book with them again.
They were fascinated by the small bits of knowledge on the Fey clans that they had not been previously aware of. Squirrel began to show more enthusiasm towards reading and you helped him learn, he’d point out a letter and you would tell him what it sounded like.
Needless to say, some very strange sounding words came out of the boy’s mouth often.
Yet, Ciro never once laughed, he was just glad to finally have a friend that did not mind that he wasn’t the bravest around.
Moon Wings were their favorite subject, and you read most of it out loud to them on the matter.
Your fingertip followed the line you were reading in the book, “Moon Wings often posses druid magic, most of them can read the minds of others around them.”
“Wow.” Ciro exclaimed in awe.
“I’ve seen a Moon Wing!” Squirrel said, then went on to tell Ciro all about the young Moon Wing he had seen.
They were a rare kind indeed, it was a Moon Wing child that had survived a cleansing. And you didn’t have to guess how the child had survived…
Outside the window, the stars reminded you of the time. And you had heard some yawns in the past few minutes coming from the children.
“I believe it is time for bed.” You carefully closed the large book.
There were some protests, but they still crawled under the covers. You went around the room to tuck them into bed, which they seemed to appreciate.
“Y/n…” Squirrel caught your arm when you walked by, “I’m really glad you’re my friend. You’re really sweet.”
Was he sick? It was what you first thought upon hearing the compliments.
The initial shock passed and you bend down to kiss his forehead. “I love you too.”
“I didn’t say that.” He sank back in the pillow.
“I’m pretty sure I heard that, somewhere between the other words.” You smiled broadly and saw him do the same.
You repeated the action with Ciro, who promptly used his sleeve to wipe his forehead afterwards.
“Ew.” Ciro blurted out.
“And I love you too, dear cousin.” You snorted a laugh at his response.
Before you left, you blew out the candles and let the darkness of night into the room. To see them close their eyes and softly fall asleep, gave hope for a better world and future for the Fey, at least for them.
You rubbed the sleep from your tired eyes whilst walking through the hallway towards your room. At first you had thought Lancelot had forgotten how he had said he’d come to speak to you after dinner, but now you found him leaning against the wall beside your chamber’s door, he pushed himself off of it when he saw you approach. He was seconds away of questioning you on what happened today, you could feel it.
There was no avoiding it, so you faced the issue head on. “About earlier. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause you worry. Sometimes I feel ill when things become too much for me, it’s just the way my body reacts.”
He was visibly relieved to hear that you were not truly ill, “Do you feel better now?”
It was sweet of him to ask. “I feel well.”
Before he could ask what had caused it, you asked him about what had been on your mind all evening and hoped it didn’t sound too nosy. “I saw you with a woman today. Who was she? I didn’t recognize her from living at the fort. Maybe she is new.”
It was already at the back of his mind.
“Ah. I believe her name was ‘Emmeline’, she is the sister of the woman I helped escape from the fire last night.” He said.
The sister of…
Oh…
“She came to thank you…” You finally understood what had happened.
Lancelot’s expression changed slightly, like he was puzzling something together in his mind. “Yes.” The question fell out of his thoughts, “What caused you to feel ill tonight?”
You struggled to make the decision for yourself to whether or not you would tell him the true reason, and if you were ready to do so. What if you made a fool of yourself by telling him?
He saw the reluctance to answer the question in your eyes.
He gestured to the door of your room, “Can we talk? Where we are not so prone to be disturbed?”
Oh no, did he suspect something? Was it obvious to him?
“Of course.” You walked past him to open the door. “Get in before someone sees and gets the wrong idea.”
He grinned and followed you into the room. To let your tired feet rest, you plopped down on your bed to sit. The doll at the foot of your bed had drawn his attention and he picked it up.
“And who is this?” The cheeky Ash Man smiled.
You squinted your eyes up at him. “It doesn’t have a name. My mother gave me that.”
He studied the way it was made for a moment. “Lovely.”
When he showed no signs of putting it down, you teased, “Are you here to play with my doll, or to talk to me?”
His mouth curved at the corner at the jest. With respect for your belongings, he placed the doll back at the foot of your bed, making sure it wouldn’t fall. That was rather thoughtful of him.
He still stood at the foot of the bed when he explained why he had wanted to talk someplace private, “I had hoped to speak to you about the night of the feast.”
“The one you can’t remember?” You were still a little bitter over it.
He was nervously tapping his index finger against the foot of the bed. “I have not been honest with you. I do recall what happened.”
You looked up at his face and saw the remorse in his eyes. “You lied to me…”
It was disappointing.
His bowed his head in shame, voice growing quieter, “By lying, I thought it would spare me from having to face the truth.”
“What truth?” You asked.
He came to your side and knelt down just next to your leg. “I saw you and Matthew together that night, I saw him seek your affection. I drank two tankards of ale..” He took a breath. “I made a mistake.”
“I…” Realization hit. “You saw that?”
His gaze dropped to the floorboards, as if he did not like the memory at all. “I know it is no excuse for my behavior.”
“You were jealous?” You needed to hear him say it, because it didn’t feel real or possible.
“I was.” It was difficult to admit, but he did.
Regret for his actions swarmed inside his head constantly. The foreign feeling had been all consuming that night. Jealousy, mixed with the fear he had for what he felt.
“Why?” Deep down you already knew the reason.
He opened his mouth to speak, the words he wished to say caught in his throat, “Forgive me.”
“Lancelot.” You waited until he looked at your eyes, “Tell me. Please?”
He rose from the ground to walk a few steps further into the room, his back to you. That annoying feeling in your stomach threatened to return at the sight of his reaction. Your legs felt unstable when you stood up and got closer to him.
He slowly turned, his eyes a thousand stars away and yet all present, his hands folded behind his back to hide how unsteady they were. “I fear you will shun me, if you hear what I wish to tell you.”
His hesitation was not because he wished to deceive you, the look in his eyes told of it. The look of a man fearing to lose it all, the same fear you recognized in yourself.
You took his hands in yours, seeking to connect with him. “I wish I could fight away all that troubled you… all I can pray for is that you will feel safe enough with me, to tell me what you wish to say.”
He turned his hands and claimed yours, holding on to them while brushing his thumbs over your knuckles in a soothing manner. Almost did you step back when he knelt down before you.
He submitted himself to you, placing his body and soul at your feet, for his heart was already in your hands.
His eyes lifted to yours, locking on your gaze through his lashes. He hesitated a few times before he began to speak, his voice was full of raw emotion and quite prayer, “Your gracious heart holds mine in it’s power. All I wish for, is yours in return.”
You were staring into the heavens that the gods had created in his eyes, feeling your breathing quicken.
His eyes remained on yours, ensuring himself that all was heard, “I have come to know you, to loveyou.” A pause. “Am I fooling myself into believing that you would let me into your heart?”
You watched him play absentmindedly with your fingers, while his intense gaze distracted you, “You are…”
The mistake dawned on you when seeing his eyes change. “Oh gods, wait no I… ugh,” You could slap yourself for it. “I didn’t mean you are ‘fooling yourself’, I meant that you are in my heart. Gods, I’m such an idiot.”
The nerves were getting the better of you.
He blinked a few times, like you had just turned water into wine. He went through two very different emotions in the span of seconds, highly preferring the one he felt now.
The stunned response just proved how unexpected it was for him that this was a mutual feeling.
You pulled a hand free and buried your face in it. “I’m sorry. I’m a bit overwhelmed. Because I’ve fallen in love with you and I didn’t know if you felt the same…”
He breathed in, the joy visible in his eyes. “You are forgiven.”
You felt safe enough with him to speak the truth of what had happened earlier, “When I saw that woman so close to you, I felt my heart shatter into pieces. I couldn’t stand the thought of another with you. Selfish, I know, and I’m sorry you had to see my reaction.”
It sounded like you had experienced the same distress that he had felt after seeing you with another.
His hand was gently squeezing yours. “Do not apologize. I did not react well to seeing you with another either.”
That was true. Your eyes flickered to the window, feeling the small smile begin to form on your lips.
He was warming your hands with his own. “You love me…”
The truth was finally out. “Quite a lot.”
There was a moment were nothing was said, the reality of the situation was setting in.
“What now?” He inquired in a rather timid manner. “If you wish to ignore it, I will understand.”
His past could not be erased. Matters were already sensitive at the fort. He would understand if you chose to not give in to what you felt. He just need you to hear the truth, just as he needed to hear it too.
You stole your hands from him and covered his own with them. “I don’t really know. But I cannot keep pretending that I am not attracted to you.”
It felt like such a risky thing to admit, and heat went to your cheeks. But he would have figured that out sooner or later anyway. Of course that smug oaf smirked at you for it. You send him a warning look in case he were thinking of teasing you about it. Slowly Lancelot rose to his feet, never breaking the connection your hands formed between you. He held them, using them to bring you a step closer to him. You stilled when he touched your cheek to caress it, his fingertips touched your chin and had a gentle hold on it while watching your response. He collected all his courage while slowly leaning in, aiming for your cheek, offering you the chance to pull away if you’d wish to.
The kiss to your cheek was nothing like the one you had once given him, it was far more intimate than you thought such an innocent kiss could ever be, his warm breath was felt near your ear when his lips lingered.
Tentatively he curled his hand around your shoulder. While leaning back again, his gaze fell on your lips. Seeing him take a deep breath forewarned you for what he desired to do. But the Ash Man was holding back, and you laced your fingers in his jerkin to slowly pull him closer, willing to meet his lips. Almost did your nose touch his, when suddenly he broke away.
You were so confused. “Wha-”
The knock on your door came a second later. Lancelot looked alarmed, having caught the Fey scent.
“It’s your father.”

Audiodrama Sunday 4/7/2024
Lots of stuff to listen to this week. I really need to stop starting these writeups at 11:30pm on Sunday evening.
Loved the new Dear Liisphyra this week. I thought that the sponsor for this episode was really funny. I laughed out loud and looked like to an insane person to some guy I was walking past when they said that every weapon box comes with 50 feet of hempen rope.
Season 2 finale of @backagainpodcast! Man I love the themes of this show. It's such a well written tragedy, the dramatic irony is so good. Also I desperately want to know more about the other Soldier. We know several very relevant details about him but very little else.
New @spoutlore-blog was fun. Billie is such a good character, Jessica plays the "immortal child" trope so well. This show really puts the coolest worldbuilding you've ever heard with the dumbest dick jokes in existence. I still haven't gotten over the spider and the hummingbird.
Speaking of Spout Lore, the new Rude Tales of Magic episode has Abdul Aziz as a guest. He was a great guest, his style of humor fits perfectly with the setting of Piss Harbor. Are all the characters he plays street rats with a heart of gold. Excited to see who they bring on as guests in the future. They had Zac Oyama a few episodes ago, I would be excited to see more Dimension 20 people.
The new @midstpodcast was super interesting! Every episode in this season they've introduced another way that the Trust is incredibly fucked up. Why can't we go back to the Mother's Merciful, they were so nice.
Somehow I fell behind on @storiesfromylelmore. I'm not sure how that happened, I think my podcatcher didn't update or something, because I've been listening to new episodes of this show immediately. The second most recent episode was great, with Rion going through werewolf puberty. The most recent episode had some really good character work, with character development for all 3 main characters. I love this show so much.
New episode of SCP: Find Us Alive. A new Dash Two being created is really interesting, we've only had Dumptruck and Hiway Robbery for so long it's weird for there to be a third one. Where did they even get a bird?
I reached the crossover with Forgive Me in @kingmakerpod. Forgive Me is such a grounded show, especially by audiodrama standards, which tend to be way out there, so it's so funny when they cross over with shows that have such a wildly different tone and premise. The character interactions were on point though.
@camlannpod the fairy world! This show continues to have really cool takes on myths. The idea that you can shed a Name simply by going by something else is interesting. Could some random person start going by Lancelot and gain magical powers? The reveal at the end was great too, both from a worldbuilding standpoint and a character perspective.
Man that really was a lot. Lots of stuff to look forward to next week as well!

THEORY TIME EVERYONE!!!
a big question a lot of us are wondering is WHO IS THE WOMAN IN THE VIDEO. i have a theory for it. although a lot of people believe her to be the master, i have to disagree. she closely resembles Vivien from the King Arthur legend.
strap in folks, this one is going to be a bit long.
also, if you haven't read @oliverreedmasterass 's theory, PLEASE DO! here it is.
so, while i do see how the mv brought in resemblances to other pieces of history such as the painting of Ophelia and Guinevere, i think it’s possible she can be more closely related to Vivien.
Vivien, also known as the “Lady of The Lake”, is the one who handed King Arthur, the first monarch of England, the Excalibur (as legend has it), which is the sword she pulls out of the water and tells him "hey you're the king of England now bud."
Tumblr media
music video reference^
Tumblr media Tumblr media
two depictions of the Lady of The Lake^
Now who is the only person that has a sword in the music video?
Tumblr media
JAKE. KISZKA. I think he resembles King Arthur, since he was a warrior before becoming king.
I believe Jake to become the leader, POSSIBLY the Master, since he is the heart of the band and technically the one who started it all. He can also be seen as the warrior, or a knight, and more often than not knights become kings (masters, monarchs, etc.) He, along with Josh, has the most time on screen and seems to play a very important role.
Now, how does this tie into the King Arthur legend?
King Arthur said that he was sent by God to protect the Holy Land, Israel, for the pilgrims (people who are on a religious quest) from the Muslims who murdered them once they tried to enter. Some people say he said God sent him to give himself an excuse for all of the killing he did, but anyways.
So, we see Josh being the most affected, in my opinion, by this battle. At the end, delusional to the madness, is still devoted to this Master and whatnot. I think Jake is the one sent “by God” to save him and relieve him of his delusions.
Vivien is also depicted to try and save Lancelot “from the madness”. That’s a side note, btw. Not super important, but I figured I’d include it since Josh sings “And I’m taken, by the madness.”
Sammy plays an interesting role, barely having ANY screen time. We all collectively agree that he is the sorcerer, and in the legend, Merlin underwent a spell by Vivien because he just wasn’t strong enough and ends up dying. She was referred to as “a creature to bewitch a sorcerer”. With the red gloves resembling blood imo, that could be from his “fight” with her and trying to stay alive but loses the battle in the end. Therefore, I think Sammy resembles Merlin the most.
The Master could resemble God, or some sort of God, which is why we never see his face and he is only in a hooded cloak because his face itself is too “powerful” for the naked eye. In the Bible, God is depicted as such- his whole being is too powerful for the naked eye and the mortal, which is why you see him after death. The Master could be someone completely different, but yeah.
A slight side note, but all the forest and green imagery is very resemblant to what England looked like at the time this legend takes place.
Josh’s character to this legend has been hard to pick, but I might’ve found a match: Mordred. Now, although the legend and other depictions say he is Arthur’s son or nephew, we aren’t talking about relationships. This is just who they resemble in the music video. Anyways, I picked Mordred to be Josh because he ends up going crazy and wanting power after Arthur (Jake) recruits him to be a part of his round table, basically trying to overrule Arthur of his kingship after he leaves for battle and lets Mordred rule while he's away. So, when we see Josh going crazy at the end, it’s him being consumed with power and thinking “hey i can take over since they’re all gone i’m left with the crown and throne.” In legend aspects, in almost all of the stories where Mordred is depicted, he betrays Arthur, which is why Josh is the only one in the end saying “burn it up to give him all of our love” because he wants to tarnish Jake’s kingship so he can rule and give the master "all of our love" because he thinks killing everyone will show how devoted he is and will try to recruit everyone he can. He’s also a womanizer in some stories, and we all know Josh is one himself. (Galahad was another close choice, bc he is a pure knight and we see Josh in white and his outfit resembles closely to a statue of him, but I chose to go a different route specifically because of the ending of the video where it seems Josh has betrayed everyone and is on a whole different path).
Danny was also hard to pick, and I have yet to find a match for him. All we know is that he is the archer of the story, but he’s the only one that I haven’t found a good match for in the legend since we don’t know much about him other than the fact he went to battle (has blood on his hands represented by the gloves) and he uses his bow and arrow for battle rather than a sword. So, I think he is someone a part of Arthur’s round table who eventually dies, since him and Sam only have red gloves and I think with Sam and Danny having the least amount of screen time they both died in the battle. I don't know, just a thought. I think Danny has more meaning than we think, so I'd like to say he is one of the more profound knights of the round table.
Some possible matches to Danny (most of them didn't die in battle but still):
-Bedivere, who throws the Excalibur after Arthur's last battle to the Lady of The Lake and is known as "one-handed great warrior".
-Brunor, who was terrible at jousting but "near invincible on foot", which would explain why he has a bow and arrow? i think that only because jousters used swords so I think agility would fit w/ a bow and arrow.
-Galehaut, he is a noble enemy turned an ally of King Arthur as well as an inseparable friend to Lancelot, who is King Arthur's closest companion. Also, possible lover of Lancelot.
-Lancelot, who is Arthur's closest companion, is a hero of many battles and known as one of the greatest Knights of the Round Table. He was raised in a fairy realm by the Lady of the Lake, which could explain how they know of her in the music video and such. He was an unrivalled swordsman and jouster.
-Percival, best known for being the original hero in the quest for the Holy Grail. I say this because, well, I think Danny has a more prominent role to begin with and I believe he is able to use a bow and arrow because he is more skilled than the rest.
(Also TBAGG ties into this bc I think it was happening while they were on the search for the Holy Grail, but I haven’t done enough research for that to know if that makes sense).
I also think the woman could be a "disciple" sent by the master, if we are keeping up with this seemingly religious theme they've got going on. The Master could be a being of the dark arts, perhaps the devil...I'm not sure OR a figure of God. I don't feel like I know enough to make a strong statement. I just can say with positivity that the Master is a higher power that requires devotion from his followers. Josh is willing to give it to him, whilst I believe the rest of them realize the destruction done and are trying to steer away from the past of their battle and go back to their lives of purity and the woman is able to take them there but with a price. A possible trick, which is why the video seems to go dark, and they realize there is no escape, and they now are a part of some sort of cult and Josh is the only one that's like "hell yeah cult shit!". This doesn't have much to do with my theory stated above, rather it is a "side theory".
Whew, alright. That was a lot. Let me know what you guys think! I’m not an expert so idk if I got anything factually wrong or right, but I hope this was interesting!!
Edit: I think I might explain why I think TBAGG resembles the Holy Grail and other Arthurian battles another time. AOTM in my opinion is the making of King Arthur's Round Table, and then the TBAGG is the quest to find the Holy Grail. Then, Starcatcher is the aftermath of it all, where we see betrayal, death, trickery, and a hope to find peace from the madness.

Y'ALL THE TIMSESKIP IS HAPPENING IN A WEEK SO ITS THEORY TIME :
Guinever notifies us about four events that will happen in the future :
• Her (14) and Lancelot (18) will meet in secret in a tower
• They will share their first kiss 🤢 him 19, her 15. ( I'M SORRY THEIR AGE GAP GIVES ME THE ICK, WHY COULDN'T CATTIVE DONNE'S GUINEVERE BE THE ONE IN THE MANGA 😭😡)
• He makes a name for himself in service for a king when he's 23, ( her 19 ).
• And then they will part ways for the last time.
So if she and Lance could meet in secret there are multiple ways of how that could happen :
A : someone in Camelot might be an ally that covers for Guinevere when she meets Lancelot or that someone helps Lancelot get inside Camelot .
B : Lancelot disguises himself as a fox ( Idk if the chaos knights know about that )
C : another reason idk
D : LANCELOT JOUNED ARTHUR AND HE'S THE KING HE'S IN SERVICE FOR LIKE IN THE LEGENDS ????? ( I really ffing hope not )
Her and Lancelot's kiss I have nothing to say about that except 19 year old boys shouldn't go around kissing 15 year old girls and I will FOREVER be salty about this .
In the timeskip Lance will be 20 and Guinevere will be 16, so 1 year would have passed after their first kiss so they are probably in a relationship. ( yay......) So these 2 are probably having more secret meetings and whatnot and I feel like it won't be long till arthur will found out about that and he will definitely flip out.... karma.
Him making a name for himself and stuff happen 3 years after the timeskip so I can't really analyse much apart from the question who is the king he is going to serve :
I doubt it would be King or Ban or Zeldris
And it might be Meliodas or another King who will be revealed .
Or....arthur ????? Oh god I hope not .
Or maybe there's another prophecy where there will be a new king of Camelot that will take arthur's place or sm idk I'm going a bit far lmao...
And the last thing she says is that her and Lancelot will " part ways" ( YAAAAAAAY, sorry)
But it's not specified how and why
Does arthur make her break it off ??
Does she do it to save him ??
Does he do it to save her ??
Do they break up put of anger after a fight or sm ?
Or do they genuinely part ways in a way they get separated unwillingly ??
I would say I'm happy they just separated because I'm sorry Languin shippers but I am not feeling it... but I do know Nakaba and they will probably get back together/find each other again or whatever.
Plus she said she didn't want to see everyone before the future so she definitely met everyone in the gang .
But wait she never warned or foreshadowed to Lancelot about Percy or anything and she never mentioned not meeting Percy so this could be hope that she never knew that Percival died because when she saw him in the future he was alive ???????
I'M COPING IK LEAVE ME ALOOOONE

With Merlin trending, allow me to share my genius idea.
I don't really want a revival or season 6, but maybe they could do an epilogue/post-show special?
I think the funniest and most potential idea is obviously a special where Arthur rises and Merlin has to introduce him to the modern world, but that pretty much cuts all the other characters out of the equation for what is supposed to be a reunion/anniversary/comeback special.
So maybe it could be a series of moments in time, like episode 3 of Good Omens?
Here's some things I thought of that would have good potential to be in a special:
Parts of Guinevere's rule: Did she get remarried and have kids? Did she repeal the magic ban?
Did Merlin ever go back to Camelot? If he did, a scene of him and Guinevere actually discussing his magic would be awesome, since her "reveal" was an indirect confirmation from Gaius.
Where did Aithusa go? We know she was alive after the battle, but it never shows her again after Emrys sends her away. Did Merlin finally get to be her mentor/guardian? Did she recover from the crippling that she experienced, and learn to speak?
How did Camelot fall/disperse into a modern country? Camelot is obviously in modern day England. How did it stop being Camelot? Was it destroyed or absorbed by an enemy? Did it gradually turn into England?
Magic: What is magic like? Does it die out except for Merlin? Does it still exist, but the general population stopped believing it to be real because of how rare sorcerers become? What about magic creatures like the griffin and the fomorroh?
Merlin waiting for Arthur: Episode 3 of Good Omens includes a compilation of scenes of Aziraphale and Crowley across the centuries and in different eras. It would be cool to see Merlin moving through time similarly.
Arthur rising from the lake: This is a given, it has to happen. We have been very patient, and Merlin has been even more patient. We deserve to see the Once and Future King rise again.
Arthur in the modern world: Obviously, this would be really fun and silly, as well as somber. Seeing Arthur learn about modern things would be funny, but obviously, he would have to come to terms with the passage of so much time.
The only issue I find with this lineup of events/scenes is finding a way to bring Katie McGrath back, since Morgana died during the events of the canon show, not in the future like Gwen, Gaius, Percival, or Leon.
I guess it would be most effective to have some flashback scenes mixed into the flashforward scenes. Flashbacks would also allow other important, deceased characters to come back for the special, like the knights, (Lancelot, Elyan, Gwaine) and Uther, since Anthony Head was a major actor in the show.
Regardless, THIS is what I would want if BBC Merlin "came back". THIS would be amazing. It would satisfy the desire to see into the future of the characters without needing a full season, which the cast/crew have all said they don't want to do.
Share this around if you like this idea! I would love to see other people's additions.

Okay but you know what would be really funny for a magic reveal?
They’re in a clearing, storm clouds rolling in, your average climax weather.
We’ve got Merlin and Morgana staring at each other Wild West showdown style, right?
Then Merlin just breaks the tension all, “Hey I’m getting some serious deja vu here. Is that just me?”
The knights are all flabbergasted and even Morgana’s glare softens a bit in confusion.
And then Lancelot, who’s alive because I said so, knows about the Nimueh thing, and knows that Merlin is The Most Dramatic Warlock To Walk The Earth and is probably leading up to something, is all, “Hey what do you mean?”
And Merlin’s like, “Oh, y’know, the ominous clearing, me standing here, a high priestess over there, a storm coming in…”
His eyes flash unmistakably golden and a lightning bolt one-hit KO’s Morgana.
“OH! AND THAT! THE LIGHTNING!”

Reincarnation Fic Idea - Part 2
Continuing from where we left off - because I still have ideas. The gang reluctantly decide to partner with Morgana if it means that they could find Arthur and bring him home. They come to the conclusion that best bet at finding Arthur would be starting off at Lake Avalon where he was resurrected. Just one problem.
Where is Lake Avalon?
Years have gone by, wars have happened, kingdoms have fallen with new ones to take their place, terrains have changed. They couldn’t even find Camelot if they tried. The only people who would know where to find Lake Avalon are the Druids and other people of magic - Morgana being a special case since she just had her magic reawakened from her memories. The world no longer knows of the existence of magic so they have to search for groups of magical people.
*the gang running for their lives*
Gwaine: Magical grenades?! Why do they have magical grenades?! Why can’t you give us magical grenades?!
Morgana: We didn’t have grenades 1500 years ago?! I can’t just wisk things up that’s not how magic works!
Lancelot: Merlin could probably do it *not being sassy just missing Merlin*
Gwaine: Well apparently Merlin could do it!
Morgana: I’m sorry I’m not on the same level as the most powerful sorcerer to ever walk the earth!
Elyan: Do you mind arguing about this later!
Gwen: Just focus on staying alive!
Gwaine: Princess better be real grateful for the shit he’s putting us through
Leon: Don’t be like that, Arthur is out there and wherever he is he must be going through hell!
Elyan: Well, thank god he’s not here! They would have sacrificed him by now!
*A glowing knife gets thrown between the group and lands on a tree infront of them. They all duck before it explodes into a hot white blast of magic*
Elyan: Seriously, why can’t we ever run into nice people with magic?!
Gwaine: *to Morgana* We had knives back in Camelot! Can you at least give us exploding magical knives!
Percival: *with a straight face* I’ll still take this over the cult
* gang dodging several magical grenades and fire arrows *
Gwaine: Merlin you beguiling bastard! Where are you when we need you!
Meanwhile at Merlin’s Farmhouse in a town of unorthodox druids - Druids that still practice magic but have integrated themselves into modern society, most of them are well-off if not wealthy.
*Arthur discussing something with two other druids while Merlin is falling asleep*
Arthur: Merlin!
Merlin: *being startled awake* Yes, yes, I’m up.
Arthur: I know you were up late working but I really need your full attention. These are very important decisions we’re making and you said we would do this together.
Merlin: *rubbing his eyes* Yes, I know, I know. Where were we again?
Arthur: We were looking over designs for the kitchen renovations. *Arthur takes a look over the pictures* I really like how spacious some of these are but out kitchen feels more homely I don’t want to get rid of that.
Druid 1 who is also an interior designer: I completely agree, I think it’s better to enhance your current look than give it a make over. Have a look at these.
Arthur: Oh, these are lovely. Merlin, what do you think? *turns to Merlin who is already asleep* Merlin!
Note: Arthur is in charge of renovations because he one gets to make decisions and two, gets to boss people around

Golden heart (SATBK au fic) chapter 5
I had to do a bit of retconning and mashing together with Galahad considering his cannon origins. For context now, he is merged with Galahaut (because they’re names are similar). Also his story is fucking hilarious. More questions and answers are to come, so hold on and wait!
Chapter1 Chapter4 Chapter6
Chapter 5- stories untold
“WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT!” Sonic yelped as he desperately tried to stop himself. His shoes cried out loudly against the wooden floor, straining against the friction he was putting on them.
His efforts were useless as his momentum carried him into the two knights, and the two knights right into the king.
They crashed onto the hardwood and Sonic launched off to face plant onto the floor a foot or two away. Lancelot sprung onto his feet and darted his attention to the speedy hedgehog. Galahad helped the king up, apologizing profusely to him. Sonic got himself onto his feet, his face stung from the fall, and his shoes smelt of burnt rubber again from his failed attempt at removing his momentum.
“What is the meaning of this…?” Blue groaned as he relaxed his quills.
“I’m so sorry Sire!” Galahad apologized. “We were-“
“We were trying to catch this intruder, who thought he could just walk right into castle grounds!” Lancelot interrupted and pointed at Sonic who was rubbing the pain off of his face.
The kings droopy lids fell more as he became unimpressed. “This is what I was hearing?”
“Y-you heard us Sire?” Galahad asked.
“Of course I did!” Blue dusted off his cape. “You two are the loudest ones in this castle! Apart from him.” He pointed to Sonic.
Lancelot looked at the king, puzzled and a bit nervously. “Y-You…. Know him, Sire?”
“Of course I do! I was the first one to even SEE him! He flew out of a book for Gaias sake!” He folded his hands behind his back. “As well, seeing a younger version of yourself, you know a thing or two about that kind of guest.”
“Wait…. He was telling the truth about being from a different world?!” Galahad said in disbelief.
“Are you serious right now? He even LOOKS like me from 17 years ago! Are you brain dead?”
“Okay, no need to insult them, your highness…” Sonic said sheepishly.
“I…… um…” Lancelot studdered and blushed in shame.
“I don’t want to hear it!” Blue said flatly. “Please, just go back to what you were doing. I don’t want to hear anything more from you two today.”
The knights bowed their heads. “Yes Sire. Sorry Sire.” Lancelot apologized. The two turned tail and left without another word, leaving sonic and the king in the silent room.
“Uh…. We’ll, that was sure…. Something…” Sonic fidgeted with his legs. “Think you were a little to hard on them?”
“I thought I told you to not let anyone see you?” Blue said, not looking at Sonic.
“Yeah, sorry. I didn’t realize they were nearby...”
“It’s fine.” Blue sighed. “I should have told them about you from the start. They’re not exactly the brightest at discerning who is truly a threat or not. He turned and grinned at him.
“Eh, I wouldn’t discourage their abilities too easily.” Sonic walked over to the king. “Sometimes they’re just confused or misled. Not the first time I tussled with the likes of them before either.”
“Really?” Blue raised a brow.
“Yeah. With Shadow, or who you recognize as Lancelot, he was a BIG jerk! He was working with Dr. Eggman, who is like my number one enemy at this point. Uh, do you have a Dr. Eggman? Never mind- Shadow was working with him, and he wanted to destroy the world because of some… uh- things I don’t want to talk about without his permission, it’s still a sore topic to him.”
Sonic rubbed the back of his neck. “But let’s just say that Humanity wronged him so he wanted revenge. He snapped out of that and helped me save the world though. I thought he was dead after, but nope. He’s alive and as grouchy as always, haha!”
“Huh, that’s… something.” Blue was intrigued by the story Sonic told. His duel with Lancelot 17 years ago was somewhat different to what Sonic had said about him and Shadow. It seemed that they were alike, but different in ways too. Perhaps it was the age difference.
“What about Galahad? Or, your version of him?” Blue said, wanting to hear more of the hedgehog.
“Oh, that would be Silver! My mind is kinda all over the place about him. I feel like I’ve met him before when I did.” Sonic put a hand to his head as he tried to get his mind straight. “I met him as I was trying to stop this guy who was posing as Dr. Eggman. The guy said he needed to get to him first, so I challenged him to a race! First one to get to the poser wins! And he put up a decent challenge! But even after I won, the guy still had a very sour attitude, I didn't know what his deal was till he finally told me that that wasn’t Eggman.”
“Who was he?” Blue asked.
“Eh, some guy I tussled with a while ago. He calls himself ‘Eggman Nega’.”
“Are you serious?” Blue tried to hold in his laughter.
“I’m serious! The guy even said he HATED Eggman! Yet called himself ‘Eggman Nega’ and then POSES as him? I can’t believe it myself, and I SAW it!”
Blue laughed loudly in response. The hedgehog's stories were amusing, he had to admit.
“What about you?” Sonic asked. “I bet you have a TON of great stories locked up in the Ol noggin, huh?”
The king's laugh faltered, his smile wavering. He shook his head and glanced away. “You wouldn’t want to hear any of my stories.”
“What?! Of course I do! And if you’re like me, I bet they’ll all be ACTION PACKED!”
“Yes…. And they’re all the same. Some threat comes and I go to take it down…. That’s how it always has been…”
“Yeah, but… I do that stuff too! Like every month I’m out beating some bad guy! Sure, it’s the same, but I love it! Heck, I love it almost as much as I love chillidogs!”
“You still need to tell me what a chillidog is...”
“What I’m saying is that, it doesn’t matter if the plotline is the same. The best kind of adventure is the high stakes! The adrenaline! The friends you make along the way! Life is fun if you make it fun! At least… that’s what I figure!”
Sonic smiled at the king, and the king hid his face in his cape. His tired eyes glanced down at the floor. He was silent. Again.
Sonics smile faded. “….. Hey, if you don’t want to tell me about your adventures, fine. But why not tell me about Lancelot and Galahad? I told you about Shadow and Silver, I want to know about these guys.”
Blue stood and thought for a second. “…. Okay. I suppose it wouldn’t hurt.”
Sonic smiled again and wagged his tail, he was always up for a good story. He might’ve been a bit too excited as the king smiled and rolled his eyes, sighing at the young hedgehog.
“You’re going to have to walk with me though, I have things to do.”
“Like what? Sighting and sulking around the castle?” Sonic teased.
“Do you want to hear the story or not?” Blue said as he began walking.
“Sorry!” Sonic hopped from foot to foot to catch up with the king. He gracefully stuck out a hand. “You may proceed with your story!”
Blue chuckled. “Well, Lancelot wasn’t special. It was just after I-...” he stopped himself from saying it. That name… that sword. It stung his throat to even think of it. He inhaled. “He had challenged me to a duel and I accepted. He put up a good fight, the best fighter on the team next to Gawain.”
He shut his eyes. “I couldn’t deal the final blow to him. It wasn’t right. To kill someone just because they failed…”
“Yeah, I get that.” Sonic said. “Good or bad, everyone should deserve a second chance. No one should die just because they were bad one time.”
“…. What if they’re bad all the time?” Blue asked.
Sonic rubbed his arm. “Well… I know that deep down… even if every time they’ve done the worst things, they’re can be a smidge of kindness inside of them. I’ve seen it. That’s why that no matter what happens, I get up and fight. For myself and for everyone who deserves the same freedom as me.”
Sonic smiled softly. His words were genuine, he’s seen people turn around firsthand, and those people could not be happier for meeting him. Every single one of his adventures, he has helped someone. Human or animal, good or bad. The fact that he could have made someone better, that’s what kept him going.
A pit formed in the kings stomach. He agreed with everything he said, and it made him feel awful. The undoubtful kindness that Sonic had was only matched by the king himself. Kindness that Blue regretted ever believing in. And hate he wished he never have used.
“Sorry, I’m rambling aren’t I?” Sonic rubbed the bottom of his nose. “You can continue your story.”
“… I…” Blue sighed. “I don’t have much else to say for Lancelot.”
“Well, what about Galahad?” Sonic asked.
Blue paused to think, then chuckled. “His story is actually fairly funny.”
“Then tell it! Come on man!” Sonic bounced a bit before stopping himself. “Uh- sorry, I mean, your highness…. Does that work?”
Blue crossed his arms and sighed. “Sir. Galahad was a great knight, beloved by many. He would have been a great king, but he refused a crown, at least till he conquered my kingdom, he had said. At the time he had thought I was the fake King Arthur, an illusion created by the head wizard merlina.”
The king ran a hand through his quills. “I’ll tell that story another time. I fought Galahad head on, he’s an excellent fighter, especially for how young he is.” He turned to Sonic. “He’s the youngest out of all the knights.”
Sonics eyes widened with shock. “Really? Huh. Seems to be having a lot going for him.”
Blue nodded. “He actually almost took me out. He managed to take… the sword out of my hand.” He strained those last words out his throat. “I would’ve been dead if Lancelot hadn’t stepped in and blocked the blow. They matched each other almost perfectly, it was like they were in cynic with each other.”
“Heh, kinda like they were related or something?” Sonic added in with a smirk.
The king looked at sonic and cringed at his comment. It gave sonic a moment to think. “… what?” Sonic said.
The king cleared his throat. “Nothing… just…” he inhaled and folded his hands behind his back. “Galahad forfeited the fight. He walked up to me and kneeled. He said that he wanted to join my side…” he put a hand over his mouth to hide a smirk, but it came through with his speech. “…. To be able to fight alongside Lancelot.” The king choked a chuckle. “He is utterly smitten about him... because of his ‘swordsmanship’. “
Sonic raised a brow at the kings amusement over galahad. Why was it so funny? It took him a little bit longer than it should have before the realization hit him like a punch from knuckles.
“ARE YOU SERIOUS?!” Sonic yelled.
The king wheezed and put his hands on his knees. “YEAH!”
“Oh my gaia…. This is something I never thought I’d think of…”
“I swear, EVERY TIME Lancelot comes into the room, Galahad is head over heels for him! Face as red as Gawain’s dreads!” The king continued to laugh.
“Damn, I didn’t think Silver would be into the ‘tall dark and handsome’ type! I guess ‘handsome’ IS in the title!”
The king choked and coughed, his laughter made his chest and throat sting. He couldn’t hold it as long as he used to.
“Are you okay?” Sonic asked.
Blue coughed. “Yeah, don’t worry about it. Just something that comes with age I guess.”
“I think you’re only like 17 years older than me.” Sonic pointed out.
“Still makes me older than you!”
The king instinctively ruffled Sonics head like he used to with Miles. He lifted his hand up and they both froze. Sonic looked up at the king, whose face was red with embarrassment. He had only been patted on the head a few times before, but each time felt a little weird. It was usually by someone who did it to disregard the hedgehog's abilities, or Tails who just wanted to return after he had patted the little foxes head.
This felt different, is this how Tails felt? All those times he patted his brothers head? This feeling was… good. It made him feel loved, a warm feeling in his chest that, sure, he had felt to some extent, but not like this. Usually that warm feeling was coated in a layer of ‘being the big brother’. But now he wasn’t the big brother, not here. He was the youngest out of everyone, even Miles was older than him. He would've feel bittersweet about it, but he strangely didn’t. Maybe he needed something like that for a while now.
The king blushed in embarrassment at his instincts. Patting this kid like he did to Miles. He didn’t know what to think, he felt conflicted in his emotions. Embarrassed? Happy? Upset? Proud? Everything was to much for him. What was he to do? What can he say? What should he say?
Blue stammered. “I…. Have some things to do. You can go around and… um… introduce yourself to the other knights… if you meet them…”
Before the blue hedgehog could say anything, the king had already hurried out of view. “I….. alright.” Sonic said. He didn’t have the chance to ask him about something he had planned after dinner…. Maybe it was better to keep it a secret till then.
Sonic sighed and turned to the other direction, bumping face first into a new figure. He stumbled back. “Ah! Sorry!” He looked up at who he ran into.
A tall purple cat stood before him. Blaze the cat, or we’ll, whoever was taking her place. She strangely only wore her visor, nothing else to accompany it. Sonic thought back to Miles' comments from earlier in the day.
“So uh, you must be… Sir. Percival, huh?” Sonic said. He stuck out a hand to her and smiled. “Nice to finally meet you!”
Percival didn’t react, instead she stared at the blue hedgehog and then his hand. Her visor obscured her face and any expression she might’ve been making.
“It’s nice to meet you to.” She bowed before walking past him without another word. Sonic was used to the slightly cold exterior that Blaze had given him on occasion, she liked to keep to herself. But this was on the verge of how cold Shadow could be.
“Uh, okay… nice chat…” Sonic said. “What is up with the people here?” He talked to himself as he continued moving. “I hope I can figure out why everyone is so weird. I hate being out of the loop.”

Huge yandere pt 3
pt1 and pt2
anyway to expand on this world a little bit more let me introduce you the second summoned hero a.k.a our antagonist
now this dude in his last life is your average worker who believed in everything and anything bad that happened to them is not their fault and that someone else is responsible for the consequences of his own actions
to put it into perspective your average andrew tate fans now when he got summoned he was pumped he'd have this visions of being the hero saving the cities getting all the beauties he wanted but!imagine his disappointment when he finds out that he's their second choice
He called himself lancelot after the righteous chivalrous knight but oh he's the opposite of that
He used underhanded tac tics to make tresh seems like the bad guy he made rumours saying tresh is one of the devils helpers and since the world mildly favours lancelot people believed him
Oh but tresh doesn't care at first anyway,but once he have kidnapped his darling (you) he felt the need to conceal those rumours afterall if you find out what the public thinks of him compared to the hero you'd leave him and he can't have that
And so here we are in the middle of the woods where tresh tried giving a little kid a flower he picked up,and i swear to god that he is smiling not attempting to eat the children alive......ok maybe hid face doesn't rlly say friendly smile but he IS smiling trust me bro (~ ̄³ ̄)~
he sighed looking back at you with tears in his eyes,you couldn't help but think he's some sort of animations with how cartoonish he looked
well he did tried his best,you put down the flower basket walking towards him and
Pat.
Pat.
Pat.
"good job" you said in a monotone voice,when i tell you his heart SWELLS with love i meant SWELLS at that moment all he wanted to do was hug you to death!,but he won't cuz then you'll be dead (°︶°)
anyway after all that tresh offered to cook for diner tonight,ofcourse you agreed his cookings is one of the best you've ever tasted,he even offered to wash you hair :D
And if you're bald then...well he'll wash your scalp <( ̄︶ ̄)> we compromising
now then back to lancelot our antagonist, he'd heard of another rumour swirling around,that the said devil have.....a lover?
no that can't be it why would someone sane EVER love such brute?!(because you're far from sane but we don't talk abt that)
To lancelot this doesn't make sense,and so he starts creating his own tales,in his mind you're kidnapped (not so far off tbh ) and that you're being held against your will ( okay now we're far off the marks) and that you're suffering day and night waiting for him to save you (wha-?) and that you needed a strong manly high value man to save you
(.....)
well he couldn't be more far far from the truth,for now you enjoyed your time with tresh in your shared house

I was thinking about MC's life in Rosea and I realized that my MC probably would never tell anyone the day of their birthday (since MC is a royal this info is probably written in books or whatever, but let's pretend it isnt lol), not even after many years or to their RO. They'd feel like there's nothing to be celebrated, it'd just mark one more year of their life trapped in Rosea, and besides it also was their twin's (I personally think our bro is alive 👀) birthday as well which would make things even more angsty.
Which of the RO's do u think would respect MC's wishes and wouldn't pry about their birthday or try to celebrate it and who would try to make a little something for the MC in the hopes of making them a little bit happier, even if for just a day? What about Lancelot?
I don't even want to imagine what MC's first birthday without their family was like 😭
The way I based MC I do think they'd hate celebrating it for a few years after the incident. This ask did make me regret the fact I didn't make the incident happen on their birthday like can you imagine the angst of it all, damn 😞
I am thinking of them as children/early teens when I answer this.
I think Vincent and Hunter are more likely to not pry or say anything about the birthday.
With Hunter, I think they are the type to do something small and act like "This totally isn't for your birthday" but it would be obvious it is because they're busy with their duties so taking a bit of time off is already kinda hard.
Vincent is well, you guys know.
Fadiya is definitely going to do something bigger than Hunter but it would probably be something more personal. Maybe after everyone is asleep she would sneak in (with her mother's help) and bring cake with her or ask to go on a walk and surprise MC with a bunch of animals. Young Fadiya would do something for MC that works to cheer herself up, if it works for her then it must work for everyone else!
Helios isn't doing anything either.
If Soarine was there during this time I'd say she would try to celebrate in the beginning but if MC said no to it then she would accept that and not bring it up again.
If I were to answer as they are in a relationship or crushing stage when adults, I'd say all of them do something small to show appreciation except Vincent and Soarine (and maybe Helios) who are like "alright if that's what you want".
I think Lancelot is the one who tries the most 😭 A lot more food on the day, maybe even dishes that are from Vesphire, and flowers and dessert. Everything he can think of. I think just like Hunter he would play it off and say something along the lines of "Today is such a good day I felt like making everyone happy" and it's just plain obvious that's not true.

About a month ago (I thought it was longer!) I posted some ficlets with the promise that a longer Lancelot Lives Alt Season 4 full fic was coming. It has been going slowly. Like, "less than 15k words since then" slow. I started alt Servant of Two Masters literally with Mercelot Week and they've just found out that he's trying to kill Arthur slow. And I thought, you know, I could post another sneak peek.
A few days ago, I made myself sad writing the first conversation between Lancelot and Merlin since the latter went missing (not that the scene itself comes off as all that sad, it is from Fomorroh!Merlin, but I thought of how sad Lancelot would've been and well). Yesterday, I made this fic into a comedy:
“It’s probably best that we get there first,” Gwen tried to demur.
“We think Merlin might have been enchanted to kill Arthur,” Gaius said.
Gwen made a sound like a mix between a boiling kettle and a cat whose tail had been stepped on, but Lancelot didn’t pay it any mind.
“What?” he yelped and didn’t wait for an actual answer before breaking into a run.
Fortunately, while the physician’s chambers were on the top of a tower, isolated from the rest of the castle, they’d also been placed close to the Royal Chambers. He burst through the doors not a minute later, just in time to see Merlin pull an arrow out of a pillar. Thinking only of that weapon in his hand (the danger to Arthur’s life, to Merlin’s life if he was caught after the act, how it’d break his heart if he hurt Arthur or worse) and not the startled look on his face or the bewildered question from behind the privacy screen, Lancelot launched himself at him.
They went down in a tangle of limbs.
“What on earth— Lancelot?!” Arthur exclaimed, running over. “What is going on?!”
“Get off me!” Merlin struggled like a fish on land.
“I just… hadn’t seen him since he came back!” Lancelot said, barely dodging an elbow to the face. “I’m so happy he’s alive!” he insisted, finally managing to wrap his arms around his torso to immobilize him.
“What are you talking about? We just saw each other in the Armoury!” It was a good thing Merlin had dropped the arrow when they fell, because Lancelot was pretty sure he’d have been stabbed by now otherwise.
“I think you imagined that.” Lancelot was half trying to pin Merlin’s legs under his own, half trying to avoid a kick to any sensitive spot when Gwen arrived at the door, out of breath.
“Arthur, they need you at the Throne Room,” she gasped out. “You have to go.”
“Why would I ever torture myself by imagining more conversations with you? The ones I have to suffer through in reality are more than enough for any sane being,” Merlin said, still wriggling.
Lancelot shot Arthur a wide beam. “He’s so funny.”
Merlin took that moment of distraction to twist suddenly, getting his legs under himself. He might have gotten enough leverage to shake Lancelot off and stand up if Gwen hadn’t jumped on him as well.
“You too?!” Arthur demanded, arms spread. “You saw him this morning!”
“I missed him so much,” she explained, holding on for dear life.
Gaius appeared at the door and Arthur turned to him.
“Let me guess.” Arthur gestured wildly. “Do you want to drop to my floor?”
“No, sire,” Gaius answered, eyes narrowed. “Do you?”
Arthur made a strangled noise that choked itself into a laugh.
“Back to normal, then,” he sighed. He walked across the room, past the wrestling figures in the floor that became a lot more active when Merlin saw Arthur come within reach, and grabbed his ceremonial sword. “I better get going. You” —he waved a hand— “have fun.”
“Wait,” Merlin shouted after him. “Don’t you need me to—?”
Arthur slammed the door behind himself pointedly.
